551: The Black Archive - The Web Planet
The Web Planet - one of the great Doctor Who experiments, which still divides opinion to this day. Bill Strutton's 1965 serial was hugely ambitious, with a non-human selection of guest characters, on an alien world - all realised on a BBC budget in a small studio. Dr Brigid Cherry has written a Black Archive book looking at the story and analysing its creation and themes, and she joins us to discuss it.
