Latest / The Epstein Chronicles / Murder In Moscow: Bryan Kohberger And The Drive From Washington State To Pennsylvania (8/8/26)
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome back to the program. In
- 0:04Speaker 1: the morning update, we were talking about Brian Koberger and
- 0:08Speaker 1: his dad driving cross country from Idaho back to their
- 0:13Speaker 1: home state of Pennsylvania, and the Dailymail dot Com has
- 0:17Speaker 1: an article giving us a little more context on this.
- 0:20Speaker 1: So I thought it would be a good idea to
- 0:22Speaker 1: add this to the catalog as well, because you know,
- 0:26Speaker 1: the questions are already coming, and while there's no evidence
- 0:29Speaker 1: that his father knew anything about these murders, it's certainly
- 0:33Speaker 1: something people are going to wonder and it's going to
- 0:36Speaker 1: be a question that's asked by the police as well. Remember,
- 0:39Speaker 1: the police are going to look at the whole entire
- 0:42Speaker 1: scenario and they're going to do their investigation to see
- 0:45Speaker 1: if anyone might have aided and abetted this dude, helped
- 0:49Speaker 1: them out after the fact and all of that jazz. Now,
- 0:52Speaker 1: to be very clear, there is no evidence whatsoever to
- 0:56Speaker 1: say that anyone else was involved here with these murders,
- 0:59Speaker 1: and I certainly haven't seen any evidence that would lead
- 1:02Speaker 1: me to believe that his father knew what was up.
- 1:05Speaker 1: But I think it's pretty interesting that they would have
- 1:07Speaker 1: this cross country drive in the middle of the winter,
- 1:11Speaker 1: and was it out of the blue? Was it planned previously?
- 1:14Speaker 1: These are all of the details and all of the
- 1:16Speaker 1: context that we need so that we can fully understand
- 1:19Speaker 1: what went down here, because if you let your mind
- 1:22Speaker 1: run crazy, you can come up with all kinds of scenarios. Right, Oh,
- 1:25Speaker 1: the dad was involved, he knew all about it, But
- 1:28Speaker 1: the fact is, we just don't know yet, and it's
- 1:31Speaker 1: looking like, at the very least in the prelimbs here
- 1:34Speaker 1: that the family had no idea what this dude was
- 1:36Speaker 1: up to. So we'll have to see how this all evolves.
- 1:40Speaker 1: And again, folks, remember this is a story that is
- 1:43Speaker 1: going to evolve and move different ways several different times.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Before we even get to the trial, we only know
- 1:52Speaker 1: just a very basic idea of even what happened here.
- 1:56Speaker 1: So it's going to be real interesting when a lot
- 1:58Speaker 1: of these pieces start to fall into play and we
- 2:00Speaker 1: start to see things in HD. So until then, we're
- 2:04Speaker 1: going to keep adding these articles to the catalog and
- 2:07Speaker 1: try and find some clarity and try and find a
- 2:10Speaker 1: bit of context. Today we're going to do that with
- 2:13Speaker 1: an article from the Daily Mail, headline revealed Idaho suspect's
- 2:18Speaker 1: father flew to Washington State to a company killer's son
- 2:22Speaker 1: on two thousand mile cross country road trip back home
- 2:25Speaker 1: to Pennsylvania in his white Honda A Lantra. This article
- 2:29Speaker 1: was authored by Vanessa Serna. The father of the University
- 2:35Speaker 1: of Idaho murder suspect flew from Pennsylvania to Washington to
- 2:39Speaker 1: accompany his son on a cross country road trip weeks
- 2:42Speaker 1: after the quadruple homicide. Now again, I'm gonna need to
- 2:45Speaker 1: know more about this. Was it spur of the moment?
- 2:47Speaker 1: Did they have this planned? I think all of that matters, right.
- 2:50Speaker 1: If it was spur of the moment, then it definitely
- 2:52Speaker 1: looks suspect to me. Why would a twenty eight year
- 2:55Speaker 1: old man call his dad and say to him, hey, dad,
- 2:57Speaker 1: can you fly out here to Washington or Idaho and
- 3:00Speaker 1: then we can drive back to Pennsylvania together. That doesn't
- 3:04Speaker 1: make a lot of sense to me. So if this
- 3:05Speaker 1: wasn't planned, then we'll have to revisit, perhaps you know,
- 3:09Speaker 1: all of the other details surrounding this to try and
- 3:11Speaker 1: get a better picture of what went down. Brian Coberger's
- 3:17Speaker 1: public defender revealed that the twenty eight year old PhD
- 3:19Speaker 1: student at Washington State University in Pullman didn't make the
- 3:23Speaker 1: two thousand mile journey back to his family's home alone.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Coburger was spotted with his father in the white HONDEI
- 3:31Speaker 1: Alantra police were on the hunt for, including at a
- 3:34Speaker 1: car maintenance shop in Pennsylvania on December sixteenth. So obviously,
- 3:39Speaker 1: at this point everybody in the world who was paying
- 3:42Speaker 1: attention knew that a Hondei Alantra was the car being
- 3:46Speaker 1: looked for. Now, I don't want to make a leap
- 3:49Speaker 1: and say that Brian Coberger's family knew what was going
- 3:52Speaker 1: on out in Idaho and knew that people were looking
- 3:54Speaker 1: for an Lantra, because I don't know that for sure,
- 3:58Speaker 1: but using hindsight as our guy here, it certainly looks
- 4:01Speaker 1: pretty bad. Not only do you drive a cross country
- 4:05Speaker 1: but then you know that this Hondai Alantra, meaning Brian
- 4:08Speaker 1: Coberger at this point knows that everybody's looking for that
- 4:11Speaker 1: white Hondai Alantra and still has the audacity to have
- 4:14Speaker 1: his pops fly across country and then drive back with
- 4:17Speaker 1: them in that same car. You have to be a
- 4:20Speaker 1: pretty sick and demented person to even think about doing
- 4:23Speaker 1: something like that, involving your father in something as horrendous
- 4:27Speaker 1: as this. He was home for the holidays. Public defender
- 4:33Speaker 1: Jason Lebar told CNN, well, I'm glad he enjoyed his
- 4:36Speaker 1: holidays because guess who didn't have any holidays to enjoy Ethan, Zana, Madison,
- 4:44Speaker 1: and Kaylee. And according to the authorities, the reason why
- 4:48Speaker 1: they didn't have holidays is because Brian Coburger murdered them.
- 4:53Speaker 1: The suspected killer was arrested on Friday after a more
- 4:56Speaker 1: than a month long man hunt for the murderer behind
- 4:59Speaker 1: the brutal death of Ethan Chapin, Kaylee Gonsalvez, Zana Kernodle,
- 5:03Speaker 1: and Madison Mogan. Coburger is accused of breaking into the
- 5:07Speaker 1: home of the four students off campus and stabbing them
- 5:10Speaker 1: to death in their beds on November thirteenth. He is
- 5:14Speaker 1: currently behind bars in Pennsylvania and is currently waiting to
- 5:17Speaker 1: be extradited to Idaho in hopes of being exonerated on
- 5:21Speaker 1: these charges. Lebar told the Idaho Statesman. Labar is preparing
- 5:25Speaker 1: for Coburger to arrive back in Idaho and has already
- 5:29Speaker 1: requested he receive a public defender immediately. Coburger may possibly
- 5:34Speaker 1: face the death penalty in the state, which his family
- 5:37Speaker 1: can't afford to hire an attorney to fight. Hey, look,
- 5:41Speaker 1: if you don't want to have to face the death penalty,
- 5:43Speaker 1: I have some really good advice for you. Don't murder people,
- 5:46Speaker 1: and then you have nothing to worry about. And we're
- 5:49Speaker 1: seeing the same thing down in Delphi, by the way,
- 5:52Speaker 1: where the suspect, Richard Allen, doesn't have the money to
- 5:55Speaker 1: pay for a defense lawyer, so he has to have
- 5:57Speaker 1: a public defender appointed for him. It is not chief
- 6:01Speaker 1: to hire a lawyer under any circumstances. Never mind, if
- 6:04Speaker 1: you're trying to defend yourself in a capital murder case,
- 6:08Speaker 1: it's gonna cost a lot of money. You're gonna need experts.
- 6:10Speaker 1: You're gonna need all kinds of outside help. And that's
- 6:13Speaker 1: not free. What because you're on trial, people are gonna
- 6:16Speaker 1: help you for free. That's not how it works. So
- 6:19Speaker 1: your lawyer has to pay all of these experts to
- 6:21Speaker 1: come and challenge what the prosecution is gonna bring to
- 6:24Speaker 1: the table. And if you don't have the money to
- 6:26Speaker 1: do that, forget it. You're in big trouble. So what's
- 6:29Speaker 1: gonna happen is he'll be appointed a lawyer from the
- 6:33Speaker 1: state in Idaho, and then they'll also be appointed funds
- 6:37Speaker 1: to help with their defense of Brian Cohberger. He does
- 6:42Speaker 1: not have the funding to get a private attorney, Lebar said.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Surveillance footage on the night of the slayings showed a
- 6:48Speaker 1: white Hondai a Lantra nearby the home around the time
- 6:51Speaker 1: the murders occurred at around three am. Police believe it
- 6:55Speaker 1: belonged to Coburger. The PhD student had driven the car
- 7:00Speaker 1: back to Pennsylvania, where police recovered it at his parents' home.
- 7:04Speaker 1: An unidentified person at the car shop confirmed Coburger was
- 7:07Speaker 1: getting maintenance done on his car with his father after
- 7:11Speaker 1: the trip. According to the source, Coburger's father was bragging
- 7:14Speaker 1: about flying out to the West Coast to join his
- 7:17Speaker 1: son on his trip home for the holidays, and recall
- 7:20Speaker 1: the twenty eight year old as being reserved. It is
- 7:23Speaker 1: unclear if Coburger's father knew about the murders. He filed
- 7:27Speaker 1: for bankruptcy in twenty ten. Now again, look, I don't
- 7:32Speaker 1: know one way or the other if the parents knew
- 7:34Speaker 1: or not. I wasn't there, and I'm certainly not an investigator.
- 7:38Speaker 1: So all we can go on is charges that are
- 7:40Speaker 1: filed or what we're hearing from sources close to the situation,
- 7:45Speaker 1: and so far I haven't heard anything about, you know,
- 7:48Speaker 1: the dad knowing previously or being involved or anything like that.
- 7:53Speaker 1: But it is an evolving story and we're getting more
- 7:56Speaker 1: information literally by the minute at this point, so who
- 8:00Speaker 1: the hell knows which way it's going to turn. Coburger's
- 8:05Speaker 1: family addressed the charges on Sunday and ask for people
- 8:08Speaker 1: to refrain from judgment. We will continue to let the
- 8:11Speaker 1: legal process unfold, and as a family, we will love
- 8:14Speaker 1: and support our son and brother, the family wrote in
- 8:16Speaker 1: a statement obtained by TMZ. First and foremost, we care
- 8:20Speaker 1: deeply for the families who have lost their precious children.
- 8:24Speaker 1: There are no words that can adequately express the sadness
- 8:27Speaker 1: we feel, and we pray each day for them. The
- 8:29Speaker 1: statement read, in part, we have fully cooperated with law
- 8:32Speaker 1: enforcement agencies in an attempt to seek the truth and
- 8:35Speaker 1: promote his presumption of innocence, rather than judge unknown facts
- 8:40Speaker 1: and make erroneous assumptions. Coburger's family ask for privacy during
- 8:45Speaker 1: this time as they cooperate with law enforcement to get
- 8:48Speaker 1: to the bottom of the case. We respect privacy in
- 8:52Speaker 1: this matter as our family and the family suffering loss
- 8:55Speaker 1: can move forward through the legal process. So they're doing
- 8:59Speaker 1: what anyone wants would do when it comes to their kids.
- 9:02Speaker 1: They don't want to believe that their son's a brutal
- 9:04Speaker 1: murderer who killed four college kids in their beds while
- 9:08Speaker 1: they were sleeping. So until they have some evidence of that,
- 9:11Speaker 1: my guess is they're going to defend their son, and
- 9:14Speaker 1: some people, even if they have that evidence, will continue
- 9:17Speaker 1: to defend their children. Police said they began tracking and
- 9:20Speaker 1: surveilling Coburger around Christmas and stayed on him for four
- 9:24Speaker 1: days when they spotted the white Hondaei, a lantra they
- 9:26Speaker 1: believe was connected to the murders. Friday's arrest is the
- 9:30Speaker 1: first major break in the case, with Coburger asking if
- 9:33Speaker 1: anyone else was arrested when he was taken into custody.
- 9:37Speaker 1: An extradition hearing is scheduled for Tuesday. Now, maybe he
- 9:40Speaker 1: was saying, were my parents arrested because I was at
- 9:44Speaker 1: their house where they arrested for aiding and abetting me
- 9:46Speaker 1: something like that, or some people are thinking or saying
- 9:50Speaker 1: he might have had an accomplice. Now we know, we've
- 9:52Speaker 1: heard from the police that they don't believe there was
- 9:55Speaker 1: an accomplice, and for my money, I think he's just
- 9:59Speaker 1: muddying the waters and trying to create some reasonable doubt
- 10:04Speaker 1: for himself. Law enforcement officers told CNN that his DNA
- 10:09Speaker 1: was discovered at the scene of the crime, with officers
- 10:11Speaker 1: managing to track down who owned the car seen in
- 10:14Speaker 1: the area of the slayings. However, Coberger has no prior
- 10:18Speaker 1: arrests according to public records, so it's unclear how officials
- 10:22Speaker 1: got hold of his DNA. You know, they were following him,
- 10:25Speaker 1: you know, they were surveilling him across the country. All
- 10:27Speaker 1: he has to do is slip up once a cigarette,
- 10:30Speaker 1: a cup, anything, and the police can get that evidence
- 10:34Speaker 1: that you might have dropped or put in your trash,
- 10:36Speaker 1: and they can use that to collect your DNA from it.
- 10:40Speaker 1: And while I don't have the evidence to show you
- 10:43Speaker 1: to say that's what they did here, that's my guess.
- 10:46Speaker 1: That's how they found the evidence, collected it from something
- 10:49Speaker 1: he discarded, something that he might have owned previously, and
- 10:52Speaker 1: they used that to run the evidence, the DNA that
- 10:55Speaker 1: they found at the scene against his DNA and they
- 10:58Speaker 1: got the match. Again. Just my speculation, But that's how
- 11:02Speaker 1: I think this all broke down and how they were
- 11:05Speaker 1: led to this man. Coburger was allegedly stalking the students
- 11:11Speaker 1: in the weeks leading up to the murders. Moscow Chief
- 11:13Speaker 1: of Police James Fry refused to rule out that the
- 11:16Speaker 1: killer had an accomplice. Details of the killings and the
- 11:19Speaker 1: motive for them are yet to be released, with law
- 11:22Speaker 1: enforcement saying a sealed arrest AFFID David, will be released
- 11:26Speaker 1: once Coburger is extradited back to Idaho, And now there's
- 11:29Speaker 1: some people saying that that might happen Tuesday night. Even so,
- 11:33Speaker 1: if that's the case, we might have access to these
- 11:36Speaker 1: charging documents and the arrest AFFID David a lot sooner
- 11:39Speaker 1: than we thought. So there it is, folks. Brian Cohberger
- 11:44Speaker 1: drove cross country with his father in the wake of
- 11:46Speaker 1: these killings, and they drove cross country in the white
- 11:50Speaker 1: Alantra that led the police directly to their doorstep and
- 11:55Speaker 1: to the man they suspect murdered four college students in
- 11:59Speaker 1: their beds. All Right, folks, that's gonna do it for
- 12:02Speaker 1: this one. If you'd like to contact me, you can

- 12:18Speaker 1: c ap u Cci. The link that I discussed can
- 12:22Speaker 1: be found in the description box one and Welcome back
- 12:26Speaker 1: to the program. In this episode, we're gonna hear from
- 12:31Speaker 1: a reporter who retraced Brian Koberger's alleged steps from the
- 12:36Speaker 1: early morning hours when these murders occurred all the way
- 12:39Speaker 1: through his trip back home to Pullman, and to say
- 12:44Speaker 1: the route he took was interesting would be quite the understatement.
- 12:48Speaker 1: So let's dive into this article from the Daily Mail
- 12:52Speaker 1: and let's see what they found out. Headline exclusive Dailymail
- 12:57Speaker 1: dot Com retrace his route cops claim Idaho murder suspect
- 13:01Speaker 1: Brian Koeberger took on the night four students were stabbed
- 13:05Speaker 1: to death. This article was authored by Caitlin Becker. The
- 13:12Speaker 1: route allegedly driven by Brian Cooeberger on the night of
- 13:15Speaker 1: the brutal Idaho murders may be a crucial piece of
- 13:18Speaker 1: evidence in the state's case against the twenty eight year
- 13:21Speaker 1: old suspect, who is facing four counts of first degree murder.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Dailymail dot Com recently took the circuitous drive to get
- 13:30Speaker 1: a clearer picture of Coburger's alleged movements on November thirteenth,
- 13:34Speaker 1: the night he's accused of murdering students Kaylee Gonsalves, Madison Mogan,
- 13:39Speaker 1: Ethan Chapin, and Xanna Kernodle. In the probable cause AFFI
- 13:44Speaker 1: David filed on December twenty ninth, Corporal Brett Payne laid
- 13:48Speaker 1: out how investigators believe the alleged killer traveled the roughly
- 13:52Speaker 1: ten miles from his Pullman, Washington apartment to the home
- 13:56Speaker 1: in Moscow, Idaho, and subsequently fled the scene after the
- 14:00Speaker 1: brutal slayings. And if you take a look at the
- 14:04Speaker 1: way he went, the route that he took. When he
- 14:07Speaker 1: was leaving, he had ample opportunity to get rid of
- 14:10Speaker 1: all of the evidence that he might have had on him,
- 14:14Speaker 1: you know, clothes, the knife, who knows what he was wearing,
- 14:18Speaker 1: a tiebex suit, whatever. But on this journey home, he
- 14:21Speaker 1: had plenty of opportunities to get rid of this stuff.
- 14:26Speaker 1: And we've talked about this a little bit previously, and
- 14:29Speaker 1: mainly we were talking about the knife and how I
- 14:32Speaker 1: don't believe that he still has it in his possession.
- 14:34Speaker 1: I think he got rid of it right after these murders.
- 14:37Speaker 1: And on this drive home, Pain combined cell phone data
- 14:42Speaker 1: from Coburger's number and CCTV footage of multiple sightings of
- 14:47Speaker 1: the suspects white Hondai a Lantra to stitch together a
- 14:51Speaker 1: fairly tight timeline surrounding the stabbing deaths. And the timeline
- 14:56Speaker 1: is pretty tight. What they presented to us is pretty
- 15:00Speaker 1: strong evidence as far as circumstantial evidence goes. What we
- 15:04Speaker 1: have presented to us is pretty strong. Of everything presented
- 15:09Speaker 1: to us, I find the cell phone towers to be
- 15:12Speaker 1: the weakest though, because they do pick things up from
- 15:16Speaker 1: all over the place if you're in a certain vicinity.
- 15:19Speaker 1: That's why I think they also have his GPS coordinates,
- 15:22Speaker 1: and I think that's what they're gonna end up using
- 15:25Speaker 1: to sync this dude, because once you have those GPS
- 15:29Speaker 1: coordinates that are putting him not near the Moscow home,
- 15:32Speaker 1: but inside of the Moscow home, along with all of
- 15:36Speaker 1: the DNA data and evidence that they say they have,
- 15:40Speaker 1: and it's going to be a rap for Brian Koberger.
- 15:43Speaker 1: At that point, you can argue the pings. You can
- 15:47Speaker 1: argue a lot of things, but you're not gonna argue
- 15:50Speaker 1: the DNA. Once that DNA puts in there, and there's
- 15:54Speaker 1: all of these other tying factors that glue it all
- 15:57Speaker 1: together and wrap it up in a nice little bow,
- 16:00Speaker 1: it's going to be very, very difficult to dispute all
- 16:03Speaker 1: of that in the totality of the way it's presented.
- 16:07Speaker 1: But on their own, the cell phone towers, in my opinion,
- 16:10Speaker 1: are easily disputable. The first thing that sticks out while
- 16:15Speaker 1: driving the route is that it is not an efficient
- 16:18Speaker 1: or direct drive from Coburger's apartment to the crime scene
- 16:22Speaker 1: and contains an out of the way detour as well
- 16:25Speaker 1: as dangerous roundabout ride home. According to police, Coburger's phone
- 16:30Speaker 1: went off the grid at approximately two forty five am
- 16:34Speaker 1: near his Pullman Washington University apartment, located just before the
- 16:40Speaker 1: Pullman Moscow Highway Route two seventy, the main thoroughfare between
- 16:44Speaker 1: the two cities. So what they're alleging is he turned
- 16:47Speaker 1: his phone off so he can go and commit these crimes. Again, circumstantial,
- 16:52Speaker 1: and they're going to have to prove it, and the
- 16:54Speaker 1: way they're going to do that is using the totality
- 16:57Speaker 1: of all of this evidence that they've collected. Investigator surmised
- 17:02Speaker 1: that Coburger turned his phone off or put it on
- 17:05Speaker 1: airplane mode to conceal his location during the quadruple homicide
- 17:09Speaker 1: that occurred at the King Road residence. Per the Affidavid.
- 17:13Speaker 1: When Coburger's vehicle is then allegedly spotted via CCTV at
- 17:18Speaker 1: three twenty six am, it's on the seven hundred block
- 17:22Speaker 1: of Indian Hills Drive and out of the way street
- 17:24Speaker 1: in a small residential enclave of nicely manicured single family
- 17:29Speaker 1: homes in Moscow, Idaho. So what was he doing there?
- 17:33Speaker 1: I guess he could try and explain it by saying
- 17:36Speaker 1: he was having a drive, clearing his head, he had
- 17:39Speaker 1: a rough day, wanted to listen to some music. Oh,
- 17:42Speaker 1: I have a great audiobook and I'm listening to that.
- 17:45Speaker 1: But when you have everything else stacked against you, those
- 17:49Speaker 1: excuses seem to be a bit ridiculous, right. Imagine sitting
- 17:54Speaker 1: on a jury and hearing all of the evidence compiled
- 17:57Speaker 1: by the prosecution, and then when the defense has asked
- 18:00Speaker 1: what your client was doing there, and they respond with
- 18:04Speaker 1: something like, Oh, my client was hanging out listening to
- 18:08Speaker 1: The Hunger Games on audiobook. You really think the Jerry's
- 18:11Speaker 1: going to buy that with all of the other evidence
- 18:14Speaker 1: that has been presented to them. Coburger didn't linger in
- 18:18Speaker 1: the area long or appear to make any stops on
- 18:22Speaker 1: Indian Hills Drive, and according to the timeline from police,
- 18:25Speaker 1: his car is then picked up just two minutes later,
- 18:28Speaker 1: leaving the neighborhood. So what were you doing there? Why
- 18:32Speaker 1: were you there? Just a couple of basic questions him
- 18:35Speaker 1: and his defense team are going to have to answer.
- 18:38Speaker 1: From there, Coburger's vehicle allegedly makes its way to the
- 18:42Speaker 1: victim's home. The residential off campus neighborhood where victims Xana, Ethan, Maddie,
- 18:48Speaker 1: and kay Lee were brutally stabbed to death, surrounded by
- 18:52Speaker 1: several other single family homes in very close proximity, as
- 18:56Speaker 1: well as a small apartment complex with a parking lot
- 19:00Speaker 1: that butts up against the back of the victim's rental property.
- 19:03Speaker 1: And I always thought that that would be the perfect
- 19:05Speaker 1: place for somebody to case this out. If you're going
- 19:08Speaker 1: to be some kind of sicko, some kind of peeping tom,
- 19:12Speaker 1: you want to have some kind of privacy for yourself
- 19:14Speaker 1: as you're engaging in your sick ass voyeuristic nonsense, right.
- 19:19Speaker 1: So in the back there a little area where it's
- 19:22Speaker 1: kind of blocked off from traffic, a bit unassuming. Sounds
- 19:27Speaker 1: like it was tailor made for some sick ass creeper.
- 19:31Speaker 1: As seen indelimail dot COM's exclusive video. The roads around
- 19:35Speaker 1: the home are tight, two cars can't pass comfortably with
- 19:38Speaker 1: no easy exit point. Since it dead ends into a
- 19:41Speaker 1: parking lot, it is not a convenient or easy area
- 19:45Speaker 1: to cruise around, and police noted a very limited number
- 19:48Speaker 1: of vehicles that travel in the area during the early
- 19:51Speaker 1: morning hours. Now, why would you be over there unless
- 19:54Speaker 1: you're a resident visiting a resident, working for a delivery
- 19:58Speaker 1: service and maybe utilities or something. But besides that, what
- 20:02Speaker 1: are you doing creeping around in people's neighborhoods in the
- 20:05Speaker 1: early morning hours. Keeping with the police timeline, the suspects
- 20:11Speaker 1: car is then seen near the home around three thirty am,
- 20:14Speaker 1: when all of the roommates as well as Ethan Chapin,
- 20:17Speaker 1: would have been inside for the night. It is around
- 20:20Speaker 1: then that Coburger's car has spotted allegedly casing the house
- 20:25Speaker 1: by driving past it three times over the course of
- 20:28Speaker 1: thirty minutes. Now what the hell was he doing for
- 20:31Speaker 1: those thirty minutes driving back and forth? You want to
- 20:34Speaker 1: talk about creepy? Can you imagine what was racing through
- 20:37Speaker 1: this six son of a Bitch's mind. When he exits
- 20:41Speaker 1: the street, he does so via Wollenta drive, which offers
- 20:45Speaker 1: a direct line of sight into the back of the home.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Many people have asked how the perpetrator knew the roommates
- 20:51Speaker 1: were asleep, and this movement on the timeline may answer that.
- 20:55Speaker 1: So if we're to believe the timeline that has been
- 20:58Speaker 1: put out for us, that means he was doing this
- 21:01Speaker 1: for months in advance, casing this place, following their movements,
- 21:06Speaker 1: what their nighttime habits were like, and building a blueprint
- 21:10Speaker 1: in his mind or maybe in his notes even about
- 21:13Speaker 1: when the best time would be for him to carry
- 21:16Speaker 1: out his disgusting, gross ass fantasies. The vantage point here
- 21:22Speaker 1: would show if any lights were on, indicating that someone
- 21:24Speaker 1: may be awake in the kitchen, as well as the
- 21:27Speaker 1: three bedrooms facing the back belonging to Kaylee Maddie and
- 21:31Speaker 1: survivor Dylan Mortensen. And in the picture here in the link,
- 21:35Speaker 1: you can see where the car would be parked, and
- 21:38Speaker 1: how he has access to all of the windows, and
- 21:41Speaker 1: obviously you could tell if there's lights on or if
- 21:43Speaker 1: somebody's walking around, meandering or whatever. And this is a
- 21:47Speaker 1: great place if you're trying to case the joint, to
- 21:50Speaker 1: sit and see what's going on. Continuing to follow the timeline,
- 21:55Speaker 1: Xana Kernodle gets a door dash delivery at four am.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Around four four am, Copsea Coburger does a fourth and
- 22:04Speaker 1: final pass in front of the house, making a three
- 22:07Speaker 1: point turn at the apartment complex next door. The apartment
- 22:11Speaker 1: parking lot loops around the complex and connects to the
- 22:14Speaker 1: victim's sparse wooded backyard, which is situated on a small
- 22:18Speaker 1: slope that leads to the patio and sliding glass door.
- 22:22Speaker 1: The slope from the parking lot to the home is
- 22:25Speaker 1: short but steep in some parts, but relatively easy terrain
- 22:29Speaker 1: on the side near Dylan Mortensen's second floor room. Deli
- 22:33Speaker 1: mail dot Com parked in one of the spots facing
- 22:35Speaker 1: the home and can see into all of the back
- 22:38Speaker 1: windows on the second and third floors. It would take
- 22:41Speaker 1: just a few moments from exiting the car to reach
- 22:44Speaker 1: the sliding glass doors the killers believed entry point, so
- 22:49Speaker 1: It's chilling to hear it all recreated right, and to
- 22:52Speaker 1: have the whole entire timeline put out for you and
- 22:55Speaker 1: laid out where he was at what he might have
- 22:58Speaker 1: been doing. It really puts things in perspective of how
- 23:02Speaker 1: much thought and premeditation. It looks like Brian Cohberger, who
- 23:06Speaker 1: the government alleges did this, put into this whole entire
- 23:10Speaker 1: disgusting escapade. The neighborhood is very compact, with dozens of
- 23:15Speaker 1: windows facing all sides of the home. It is known,
- 23:19Speaker 1: based on the Affidavid, that dog barking, whimpering, and a
- 23:23Speaker 1: loud thud were picked up on a security camera nearest
- 23:26Speaker 1: Designa's room at four seventeen am. The barking is thought
- 23:31Speaker 1: to be from the dog Kaylee Gonsalvez shared with her
- 23:34Speaker 1: ex boyfriend, which was found unharmed the next day in
- 23:37Speaker 1: her third floor bedroom. So did he pick the dog
- 23:41Speaker 1: up and move him? Very interesting about the dog, And
- 23:44Speaker 1: then you go back to the hairs that were found
- 23:46Speaker 1: at Brian Colberger's house and you say to yourself, what
- 23:50Speaker 1: if At four to twenty am, the suspect's vehicle was
- 23:54Speaker 1: allegedly spotting peeling out of the King Road location at
- 23:58Speaker 1: a high rate of speed and taking willent to drive
- 24:01Speaker 1: out of the neighborhood, according to police, and that's probably
- 24:05Speaker 1: because he wasn't expecting Zana and Ethan, and when he
- 24:09Speaker 1: had to kill an extra two people, launched him into
- 24:12Speaker 1: all kinds of panic. Figured he had to get out
- 24:15Speaker 1: of there, get away from the scene before the cops came.
- 24:18Speaker 1: So you see the erratic driving because under normal circumstances,
- 24:22Speaker 1: you wouldn't want to be driving away quickly from the
- 24:24Speaker 1: scene of a crime. Right that way, if you are
- 24:27Speaker 1: caught on surveillance, you can say, what, I wasn't even
- 24:29Speaker 1: driving away fast? What are you talking about? But he
- 24:31Speaker 1: doesn't even have that here, And that leads me to
- 24:34Speaker 1: believe that it's because he was in a panic due
- 24:37Speaker 1: to being interrupted, if you will, from his original plan.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Based on CCTV footage of the White Hondai and an
- 24:46Speaker 1: eyewitness account from surviving roommate Dylan Mortensen, who was awake
- 24:50Speaker 1: at the time of the killings, investigators have narrowed down
- 24:53Speaker 1: the timeframe of the killings to between four h four
- 24:56Speaker 1: am and a four to twenty AM, a window of
- 24:59Speaker 1: roughly fifteen minutes. You imagine fifteen minutes, and to cause
- 25:03Speaker 1: this much harm took all of their lives in fifteen
- 25:07Speaker 1: minutes and ruined how many other lives in fifteen minutes,
- 25:11Speaker 1: including his own family members. There is a large gap
- 25:16Speaker 1: in time where police have to make an educated guess
- 25:19Speaker 1: as to the suspects movements between four to twenty am
- 25:22Speaker 1: and four to forty eight am. Since his phone was
- 25:25Speaker 1: still off the grid and no CCTV footage has so
- 25:28Speaker 1: far turned up during that time frame, I believe that
- 25:32Speaker 1: suspect vehicle is likely exited the neighborhood at Polue River
- 25:36Speaker 1: Drive and Conestoga Drive. Pollue River Drive is at the
- 25:41Speaker 1: southern edge of Moscow and proceeds into Whitman County, Washington.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Eventually the road leads to Pullman, Washington. Corporal Paine wrote
- 25:49Speaker 1: in the sworn Affidavid the route from Wilenta Drive to
- 25:54Speaker 1: Police Drive goes straight through another residential area, and dailymail
- 25:58Speaker 1: dot Com noted any of those well appointed homes were
- 26:02Speaker 1: outfitted with video doorbells and security systems, So that's interesting. Obviously,
- 26:09Speaker 1: the investigators are probably all over that already considering what
- 26:13Speaker 1: they've compiled, and if that is the case, and they
- 26:16Speaker 1: do have more surveillance of this nature, it's only going
- 26:20Speaker 1: to strengthen the rest of their claims, the rest of
- 26:23Speaker 1: the accusations, and it's only going to be more glue
- 26:27Speaker 1: to bind it all together. As stated in the After David,
- 26:31Speaker 1: the road cops think Coburger took out of Moscow eventually
- 26:35Speaker 1: leads to Pullman, Washington, which means his most likely route
- 26:38Speaker 1: would have taken him through a treacherous journey of muddy, pitch,
- 26:42Speaker 1: dark black backcountry roads and south of Moscow there were
- 26:46Speaker 1: no street lights or street signs along much of the drive,
- 26:49Speaker 1: and the roads were narrow and full of deep potholes
- 26:52Speaker 1: in places. When Deli mail dot Com took the drive
- 26:56Speaker 1: in broad daylight, it was desolate and easy to misturns. However,
- 27:00Speaker 1: in darkness it was near impossible to see and require
- 27:04Speaker 1: driving well below the speed limit in order to not
- 27:07Speaker 1: accidentally drive into the deep irrigation trenches that line the
- 27:11Speaker 1: road on both sides. So this is the route that
- 27:14Speaker 1: Brian Coburger took. Why would he take this route home?
- 27:18Speaker 1: What were you doing? Were you going to cow tipping?
- 27:21Speaker 1: Were you going sightseeing? Were you going off roading in
- 27:25Speaker 1: your Hondai, a Lantra or were you going to ditch
- 27:28Speaker 1: some evidence, which story do you think the jury is
- 27:32Speaker 1: going to believe? Without the help of GPS, it would
- 27:37Speaker 1: have been extremely difficult to get from point A to
- 27:39Speaker 1: point B without intimate knowledge of the area. Bearing that
- 27:43Speaker 1: in mind, it's possible that the suspect's phone was allegedly
- 27:46Speaker 1: turned back on or taken out of airplane mode to
- 27:49Speaker 1: utilize the GPS. Police said Coburger's phone pinged at his
- 27:53Speaker 1: cell phone tower south of Moscow, Idaho at four forty
- 27:57Speaker 1: eight am. Or did he have a different kind of
- 28:00Speaker 1: GPS device? You know they have regular old Garmin GPS devices,
- 28:05Speaker 1: several different brands. Did he have one of those and
- 28:08Speaker 1: ditch that too. It can be speculated that the route
- 28:12Speaker 1: back was allegedly chosen due to the lack of any
- 28:14Speaker 1: CCTV cameras, but it also may have provided several opportunities
- 28:20Speaker 1: to discard any alleged weapons. It's unclear if police have
- 28:23Speaker 1: searched the area, and the fixed blade k bar knife
- 28:26Speaker 1: presumably used in the commission of the crime, has yet
- 28:29Speaker 1: to be located. By five twenty five am, Coberger's car
- 28:34Speaker 1: is allegedly captured again on camera on Johnson Road, which
- 28:38Speaker 1: is the route that connects the back roads below Moscow
- 28:41Speaker 1: back into Pullman. He is then allegedly seen on no
- 28:45Speaker 1: less than five cameras on the Washington State University campus
- 28:49Speaker 1: heading back to his apartment. Despite arriving home at five
- 28:53Speaker 1: thirty am on November thirteenth, Coburger's phone pinged at nine am,
- 28:58Speaker 1: suggesting he was on the move again, and cell phone
- 29:01Speaker 1: data places Coburger back in the vicinity of King Road.
- 29:05Speaker 1: So all of that stuff is going to be damning
- 29:07Speaker 1: right now. I know there's people out there talking about, oh,
- 29:10Speaker 1: this is going to be picked apart, that's going to
- 29:12Speaker 1: be picked apart. Well, I'm here to tell you that
- 29:15Speaker 1: all of this stuff together is damning as hell for
- 29:18Speaker 1: Brian Coberger, and people have been convicted on a lot
- 29:21Speaker 1: less than this. Now. Am I saying that he's definitely
- 29:24Speaker 1: guilty and he's going to be convicted. Absolutely not. But
- 29:27Speaker 1: what I am saying is it's very very clear that
- 29:31Speaker 1: the police have built a very strong case against Brian Cohberger. Coburger,
- 29:37Speaker 1: a PhD criminology student at Washington State University, was arrested
- 29:42Speaker 1: at his family home in all Brightsville, Pennsylvania, on December
- 29:45Speaker 1: thirtieth for the murders of the four college students. Last week,
- 29:50Speaker 1: unsealed court documents revealed that investigators believed that Coburger likely
- 29:55Speaker 1: transferred blood from the crime scene to his apartment in
- 29:58Speaker 1: Pullman after the murders. V a blood spatter or cast off.
- 30:02Speaker 1: While executing a search warrant on his home, law enforcement
- 30:05Speaker 1: sees stain betting, strands of what looked like hair, and
- 30:09Speaker 1: a single glove, among other things. Coberger has maintained his innocence,
- 30:14Speaker 1: but has yet to formally enter a plea and has
- 30:17Speaker 1: said through an attorney that he expects to be exonerated.
- 30:22Speaker 1: I've always thought that the route home would be an
- 30:24Speaker 1: interesting look, and when you take a look at the
- 30:27Speaker 1: way he went, I have no doubt in my mind
- 30:30Speaker 1: that evidence was discarded. Now are they ever going to
- 30:33Speaker 1: be able to find that evidence? Who the hell knows.
- 30:36Speaker 1: But I've always been of the opinion that he would
- 30:39Speaker 1: get rid of that knife, and what better place to
- 30:41Speaker 1: do that than a place that is as desolate as this.
- 30:46Speaker 1: All right, folks, that's going to do it for this one.
