- 0:00Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:03access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing genuine
- 0:07issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:10hypnotherapist, demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:40Hi, it's Adam here. And in this episode of The
- 0:43Hypnotist, you're going to be listening to a hypnosis session
- 0:47that was created for an aspiring film maker.
- 0:51And they were currently at film school and had big ambitious
- 0:56plans, but couldn't quite connect with the feelings of
- 1:02passion and focus that they felt might be useful and helpful to
- 1:06make that career a success. So I do something.
- 1:10A little bit. Different in this session and
- 1:12and one of the things that I I love talking about and I love
- 1:15doing in hypnosis is playing with time at the Irish
- 1:20hypnotherapy conference. I'm going to be talking about
- 1:22hypnosis in the 4th dimension and in the three-dimensional
- 1:26reality that we live in, time is linear and only moves forward
- 1:30but in the 4th dimension time can have multiple directions.
- 1:36It's more of. A fluid.
- 1:38Kind of fabric. It's something you can navigate.
- 1:41So in this hypnosis session, I actually took inspiration
- 1:45because we were talking about movies of two of my favorite
- 1:49movies where the actual storyline, the story is told
- 1:52backwards from the end to the beginning.
- 1:55And one of those is a movie called Memento.
- 1:59So if you know Chris Nolan from movies like Inception and The
- 2:02Dark Knight, that was one of his early feature films and also a
- 2:06film called. Irreversible.
- 2:07Which is a French film, but again the story is told
- 2:09backwards. So effectively that becomes the
- 2:12inspiration for this client where we go 10 years in the
- 2:15future and imagine the most incredible outcome for their.
- 2:22Career which would. Be winning the palm door so.
- 2:25The best? Picture of the Cannes Film
- 2:27Festival and then working backwards and thinking what
- 2:30would have had to have taken place in order for that outcome
- 2:35to have happened. So it's kind of manipulating
- 2:38time, it's reversing time so that they get to create the
- 2:42stepping stones to this. Incredible future.
- 2:45By having a clear idea of what they want and what it's going to
- 2:48take to do that. And a lot of people, they don't
- 2:52even try. They don't even attempt to have
- 2:54that magnificent life. And therefore, they end up with
- 2:58this very mediocre life because they didn't do the things to
- 3:01create their magnificent life and even give it a chance.
- 3:04So that's really the essence of this.
- 3:07It's probably unlikely that you are an aspiring filmmaker at
- 3:11film school listening to this podcast.
- 3:14But the essence of it is to think of the dream life for you
- 3:1810 years from now and then work backwards and think what would
- 3:22it take to achieve that? Now, this hypnosis session may
- 3:25help. You can just ignore the film
- 3:28references and think of what you would want 10 years and then
- 3:31nine years and then eight years and work backwards to now.
- 3:34Or you can just take it as inspiration and go off and do
- 3:37some self hypnosis based on the same structure.
- 3:40Or if you like the idea of this and want a bespoke customized
- 3:43session, there will be a link in the show notes where you can
- 3:46schedule a 30 minute call with me.
- 3:48Or you can sponsor an episode and, and I can, you can send me
- 3:51all the notes of the future that you want and I can just record
- 3:53it. I prefer doing my sessions in
- 3:56person. So actually kind of, you know,
- 3:58linking up and the, and the hypnosis is live so I can
- 4:00calibrate that to you. But some people just send me
- 4:03notes and I, I create a recording around that.
- 4:05So if any of those outcomes feels interesting for you, click
- 4:09the link in the show note, schedule that consultation call
- 4:11and we'll have a chat about what could be right for you.
- 4:14In the meantime, though, we've got the session here that you
- 4:16might find interesting or inspiring in some way about the
- 4:20kind of ideal future you would want over the next 10 years.
- 4:23In which case, find a quite comfortable place where you
- 4:26won't be disturbed, relax and enjoy the session.
- 5:05Take a deep breath in and as you breathe in, breathe in a feeling
- 5:13of calm relaxation. And as you exhale, just feel a
- 5:21sense of relaxation and release as tension starts to feel like
- 5:27it's leaving your body in your outward breath, enabling you to
- 5:33feel like you're drifting off to a place of calm relaxation.
- 5:42And as you breathe in and breathe out, just allow your
- 5:47eyelids to relax even more and notice.
- 5:53With your eyes closed, you're able to give more of your
- 5:59attention to the sound of my voice while simultaneously
- 6:06allowing you to notice more of what you're able to notice with
- 6:15internal senses. Some people believe that every
- 6:20external sense has an equivalent on the inside.
- 6:29You see the world but also have a mind's eye.
- 6:35You can hear things but also have an inner dialogue.
- 6:42I want you to get a sense that as you breathe in and breathe
- 6:46out, you are turning up the dial of that sensory acuity to notice
- 6:55more of those internal senses. And let's start training your
- 7:07brain to notice this so that as you breathe in and breathe out,
- 7:14I wonder if you could imagine a promenade in the South of
- 7:21France, the kind of promenade that is parallel to a beach and
- 7:28the sea with a row of palm trees.
- 7:35And just imagine walking down that promenade because it's a
- 7:40sunny day, a sunny day in May. You feel it would be only the
- 7:49right thing to do to just relax on that beach, a beach in
- 7:57Cairns. So just imagine a big soft
- 8:03blanket there on the golden sands.
- 8:08Maybe you can hear the gentle breaking of the waves, feel the
- 8:13Mediterranean sun on your skin, and just feel that you're able
- 8:19to deeply relax there on that beach, a beach in May, and just
- 8:31imagine you're not there as you are.
- 8:36I want you to imagine being there 10 years in your future,
- 8:42and I want you to imagine there is clues.
- 8:51There is clues that you are older.
- 8:57Maybe you could imagine seeing a reflection in a pair of
- 9:01sunglasses, or just notice subtle differences in your body
- 9:07shape that let you know that this is a future version of you
- 9:16about 10 years from now. On a beach in Cairns in May and
- 9:26position your body on that blanket on the beach to enable
- 9:30you to feel so deeply relaxed. As I countdown from 5:00 to 1:00
- 9:36and with each descending number, you'll get a sense of feeling so
- 9:42deeply relaxed that you could imagine drifting off into a
- 9:46dreamlike sleep. Five, breathing in that
- 9:52relaxation, exhaling tension and just releasing any tension
- 9:58around your face, your forehead, your jaw.
- 10:04Just feel a wave of relaxation all over your face and head.
- 10:11And then four, breathing and relaxation and releasing any
- 10:14tension in your neck and your shoulders and feeling that
- 10:18relaxation ripple down all the way to your fingertips as you
- 10:25imagine how it would feel to be lying on that beach with your
- 10:29arms so relaxed it almost feels like the limbs of a puppet with
- 10:34no strings, deeply relaxed. And then three, focus on your
- 10:44internal organs, your lungs, your heart, your stomach.
- 10:49Just feel that all of your internal organs are relaxing all
- 10:53at the same time, all the way down into your gut, feeling so
- 10:58deeply relaxed there on that blanket on that beach.
- 11:02That's it. And then two.
- 11:07Now focus down on your legs. Just imagine your legs feel they
- 11:13have no energy, they have no tension.
- 11:16It almost feels like there is limp and loose as a wet cloth.
- 11:21And just imagine that feeling of relaxation where your limbs are
- 11:25so relaxed you couldn't stand up if you tried.
- 11:31And then one, just feel that wave of relaxation from your
- 11:34toes going up your body all the way down to your fingertips,
- 11:38right to the top of your head. And then just imagine you're
- 11:42drifting off into a dreamlike sleep there on that beach, a
- 11:48beach in your future. Imagine your physical body stays
- 11:57asleep, but in your dream you could imagine walking on that
- 12:03beach and imagine being stopped by someone that has a face like
- 12:11they've won a prize. They recognize you.
- 12:16They tell you that they are a fan of your work.
- 12:20They admire what you create and maybe they ask for a selfie or
- 12:26an autograph, something that only someone would do if you and
- 12:31your work meant something to them.
- 12:41As they say goodbye, you can see they are starstruck and you get
- 12:46a sense that you being you, doing what you've done clearly
- 12:51has impacted this individual and you have a feeling you've
- 12:56impacted many, many more that you will never meet.
- 13:03And then flashback to the previous day.
- 13:07See yourself in a full length mirror, perhaps wearing a
- 13:10tuxedo, black shiny shoes. It occurs to you that you are
- 13:17attending a glamorous award ceremony.
- 13:23I want you to get a sense that you weren't there alone, you
- 13:27were there with people that have worked with you in producing,
- 13:33creating a feature film. I want you to imagine how it
- 13:43would feel to be arriving at this glamorous ceremony, making
- 13:49your way to a table, seeing perhaps directors, actors that
- 13:57you deeply respect all around you.
- 14:05Perhaps you can imagine the grand jury, or perhaps someone
- 14:12in particular from the grand jury, someone well known in the
- 14:17film industry, announcing the winner of the Palmdor, and
- 14:27imagine your elation when they announced that your film that
- 14:34you wrote and directed is the best film at Cannes.
- 14:44Feel that first person perspective of that incredible
- 14:49sensation of winning something so prestigious.
- 14:54Imagine receiving perhaps a physical award, and just imagine
- 15:00for a moment what you would say in that speech if you just won
- 15:07the Palm Door at Cairns. Maybe you're thanking certain
- 15:23people. But just before that speech
- 15:27finishes, I want you to flashback in time, being on set,
- 15:35making that film. Maybe you're seeing camera crew,
- 15:42seeing the set, seeing the location, seeing your actors.
- 15:49I want you to feel that you are directing this film and notice
- 15:56the qualities that exist within you.
- 15:59Perhaps a vision, passion, attention to detail, not leaving
- 16:07a scene or a take until you're confident you've got what you've
- 16:12needed. Feel how good it feels to be
- 16:18doing the work. The kind of work that at one
- 16:24point in time you were dreaming, that you could do but feel that
- 16:29you're doing it, that you're working on the very filmed and
- 16:34in the future wins that palmed. Or imagine being on the final
- 16:42day and set when everything is done.
- 16:45And now it becomes about the editing, quality control,
- 16:53checking them, the sound, the scenes, they all match your
- 16:57vision. Perhaps you're getting lost in
- 17:01the screen of something where you're seeing your work again
- 17:07and again and just get lost in that.
- 17:09And flashback to that moment that none of this would have
- 17:15been possible if you didn't secure the support of a key
- 17:20producer, certain budget available for you to turn your
- 17:25vision into a reality. Perhaps you could imagine
- 17:32yourself in a modern boardroom, and maybe you have a pitch deck
- 17:41or slides or a presentation. Something where you're
- 17:46presenting your vision for your movie to the very people that
- 17:52have the resources to help you make it happen.
- 18:03I want you to notice certain things are useful for you there.
- 18:09Maybe it's an idea, a way of communicating it.
- 18:16There's something in your tonality, confidence, certainty,
- 18:20enthusiasm that seems to engage those producers.
- 18:29I want you to feel then, whether it's in that meeting or shortly
- 18:34after, there is an important handshake signifying you've
- 18:40secured the budget you need to make your movie.
- 18:47And I want you to think of a number as you imagined that that
- 18:52number is the very budget you've secured to make your movie and
- 19:01allow that number to be bigger, a bigger budget than other
- 19:06movies that had previously won the Palm Door.
- 19:14You can't help but think a thought.
- 19:17If others have won such a prestigious award with a lower
- 19:22budget, then you can too. And as you hold that thorn, jump
- 19:31back in time to the very point where you were working on the
- 19:34script, having the idea, working on the storyboard, and maybe it
- 19:43was you at a desk typing away. Maybe it's you with big sheets
- 19:51of paper mapping things out, storylines, key characters.
- 20:03Get a sense then this film with all these people, at one point
- 20:10in time was just you with an idea, turning that idea into
- 20:15something tangible, a script, a storyboard, a concept.
- 20:23But I want you to feel like you're in your body at that
- 20:25point working on that script. There is no chore here.
- 20:31There is no obligation. Feel a sense of endless
- 20:37enthusiasm, a passion, dare I say it, an obsession to turn
- 20:46your concept and idea into something that resonates with
- 20:53audiences all over the world. And sometimes when people are
- 21:01lost in an idea, writing for hours, they get lost in a trance
- 21:07state, drifting off into a state of reverie.
- 21:14And I want you to imagine that you wouldn't be writing the
- 21:17script for a feature film had you not already had success with
- 21:23a short film. So allow yourself to drift
- 21:28backwards thinking of that first major award you won for a short
- 21:35film. I want you to get a sense then
- 21:42maybe it's a Film Festival, you know well, maybe it's one that
- 21:47would surprise you, but in order to win an award for a short
- 21:54film, you had to have made the short film.
- 22:01Imagine being the director of that short film, and before that
- 22:06being the writer for that short film.
- 22:08And perhaps before that you were working on music videos, working
- 22:17in TV production studios, doing the very things that would give
- 22:23you skills, connections, ideas, a reality check of what is
- 22:32possible in this world with different technology, roles and
- 22:36people, and make you think back to where it all started.
- 22:43Not your first job on a set, but when you were back at film
- 22:48school writing stuff, maybe directing a significant project
- 22:57which itself was then submitted for awards.
- 23:03But this time I want you to see yourself as someone else.
- 23:09See yourself back at film school with a new level of enthusiasm,
- 23:19determination. See yourself with a new lease of
- 23:23life, invigorated, passionate, taking all of that knowledge and
- 23:29understanding of all films and all different ideas and
- 23:35distilling it into something where you're constantly working
- 23:42on stuff. See yourself in a stage of
- 23:48creative productivity and perhaps there's somebody in mind
- 23:56you can think of. Maybe an artist, a writer, a
- 24:03director that had appeared in their life where they were in
- 24:08that state of flow, where some of their best ideas came to them
- 24:17because they were constantly challenging their minds.
- 24:21See that version of you and see that version of you the same age
- 24:28you are now. But where it all started is now
- 24:37where a seed of an idea was planted in your subconscious
- 24:40mind that unleashed resources that were always there, it just
- 24:47needed the catalyst to unlock them.
- 24:53A seed could remain a seed for years, but the moment it finds
- 25:00that combination of water and soil, the seed becomes something
- 25:07else. Start to feel that you were that
- 25:13seed of limitless possibility, just waiting for the right
- 25:21catalyst to unlock it all. And then you realise these are
- 25:28just thoughts within thoughts. The thoughts of someone that was
- 25:37making a short film that won an award that led to a script for a
- 25:41feature film, that secured a budget that got made and perhaps
- 25:49one one of the most prestigious awards that exists.
- 25:54But it didn't come from nothing. It came from something.
- 26:00And that something is where you are now.
- 26:05And then you realise that all of this are just dreams within
- 26:09dreams of an idea of you on a beach in your imagination that
- 26:16looks something like cans. To find yourself back on that
- 26:21beach, imagine getting up off that blanket on the beach, but
- 26:28feeling as you walk back on the promenade that you have had a
- 26:34journey backwards and forwards in time to enable you to create
- 26:43your own adventure that you call life.
- 26:49So it's time to return to the here and now with those thoughts
- 26:52in mind, but most importantly, where that catalyst has
- 26:57activated all of those powerful resources that were always
- 27:03there. So take a deep breath in through
- 27:07your nose and out through your nose.
- 27:11Just wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes, connecting
- 27:14fully into the here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to
- 27:1810:00 to awaken you. Starting to count 123 waking up
- 27:25456 more alert 7-8. Open your eyes.
- 27:29Open your eyes, 910. Wide awake, wide awake, wide
- 27:34awake. Thank you for listening to The
