SPEAKER_02: Dick Rand is his first name.
• 5:37
  SPEAKER_09: Yes.
• 5:37
  SPEAKER_02: And go Gobalian.
• 5:39
SPEAKER_09: That would be my guess on how to pronounce it, yeah.
• 5:42
  SPEAKER_09: Captain Gobalian.
• 5:43
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was born August the 26th, 1949.
• 5:46
SPEAKER_02: And um in British Cyprus.
• 5:49
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, where is that?
• 5:50
SPEAKER_09: I I'll look it up while you read.
• 5:52
SPEAKER_02: Um the the city was uh Nikosia.
• 5:57
SPEAKER_02: Nycosia, I think, is how it is.
• 5:59
SPEAKER_02: Um but there's also new home, Pennsylvania, so I'm not quite sure.
• 6:07
SPEAKER_02: He did vaudeville, he did ragtime, jazz blues.
• 6:11
SPEAKER_02: Um I remember him when he's real thin.
• 6:16
  SPEAKER_02: I don't think he's very tall, but he's real thin.
• 6:18
SPEAKER_02: And I remember like white pants and a suit jacket, and I don't know what a shirt tie, but always a hat.
• 6:28
SPEAKER_02: I want to say fedora, but really a fedora hat.
• 6:31
SPEAKER_09: I was looking it up, uh it was described as a Panama hat.
• 6:35
  SPEAKER_02: That's it, yeah.
• 6:35
  SPEAKER_02: Panama sounds perfectly.
• 6:37
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 6:38
SPEAKER_02: Um I fell in love with him on from Saturday Night Live.
• 6:41
SPEAKER_02: I that's when I first saw him years ago.
• 6:45
SPEAKER_02: Years ago, yeah, in the 70s.
• 6:47
SPEAKER_02: Um but uh I I don't I guess he has that kind of e for me, it's kind of a Sunday morning kind of feel.
• 6:56
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, which is perfect for Jack.
• 6:59
SPEAKER_02: We we've been kind of rocking out a couple of shows.
• 7:03
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, definitely.
• 7:03
  SPEAKER_09: The authenticity show.
• 7:05
SPEAKER_09: We had some some heavy rock in that one.
• 7:07
  SPEAKER_09: Oh, yeah.
• 7:07
SPEAKER_09: We had some punk rock, we had some David Bowie.
• 7:09
SPEAKER_02: We had some great river rock for you last week.
• 7:12
  SPEAKER_09: Yes.
• 7:13
  SPEAKER_02: Rocking on the river.
• 7:14
  SPEAKER_02: That's right.
• 7:15
SPEAKER_09: And uh so yeah, we're gonna dial it back just a little bit.
• 7:18
SPEAKER_09: This feels like I don't know, it's so charming, it's so quaint.
• 7:23
SPEAKER_02: That's a nice way to put it, I guess.
• 7:24
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, it almost I almost feel like it belongs in a Pixar movie.
• 7:28
  SPEAKER_09: Like whatever that means.
• 7:29
SPEAKER_09: You know, those early Pixar shorts where they wouldn't have any voice acting, they just have like fun, quirky music playing in the background.
• 7:37
SPEAKER_09: I feel like you could make a short about Leonard.
• 7:39
  SPEAKER_09: But also, I didn't realize this.
• 7:41
SPEAKER_09: There was a TV show on PBS when I was a kid that I loved called Between the Lions, and it was all about like teaching kids how to read with puppets and stuff.
• 7:51
SPEAKER_09: But he was on Between the Lions, and I didn't even realize it.
• 7:54
SPEAKER_09: So that's where I know him from most, is his acting gigs on on a kid's show.
• 8:00
SPEAKER_02: Well he did it says he's uh he did quite a bit of voiceover, and in television he did acting, voiceover, that kind of thing.
• 8:06
SPEAKER_02: Um in concert he was like um often he often employed um comedy and demonstrated his guitar playing skills.
• 8:16
SPEAKER_02: His uh his recurrent uh gags involved the influence of alcohol and claims he had written uh works uh originating well before he was born.
• 8:29
SPEAKER_02: He favored music of the uh Tin Pen Alley era.
• 8:34
SPEAKER_02: Uh that was the 1890s to 1910.
• 8:37
  SPEAKER_02: Did you know that?
• 8:37
SPEAKER_02: Did I get something on you?
• 8:39
SPEAKER_09: You did, I didn't know that, and now I know because I love New York City during that time, so that's really cool.
• 8:44
  SPEAKER_09: Anyway.
• 8:45
SPEAKER_02: He did he did also sing the theme to the 1980s TV show series Mr.
• 8:50
  SPEAKER_02: Belvedere.
• 8:52
SPEAKER_02: And he released over 18 albums.
• 8:54
  SPEAKER_09: Very cool.
• 9:02
  SPEAKER_09: About him.
• 9:02
SPEAKER_09: When you when you see when you search him up on Google, all the pictures that come up of him, he's always got his glasses, he's always got his hat, he's always like shaded in in shadow.
• 9:12
SPEAKER_09: So he's he's a mystery man, if you will, which I think was the name of one of his albums.
• 9:17
SPEAKER_09: It was either Man of Mystery or Mystery Man.
• 9:19
SPEAKER_02: I used to have a vinyl album of his, but I I gave I gave all my albums away, I'm not sure.
• 9:26
SPEAKER_02: I don't even know which one it was, but I yeah, and I played him when I needed to just kind of mellow out, you know, that I just wanted to sit and just not have to think very hard and you know, just sit and relax.
• 9:38
SPEAKER_02: He's gonna take care of you with his music.
• 9:42
SPEAKER_09: And I looked it up Cyprus is an island in the eastern Mediterranean Sea and it is south of Turkey and west of Syria and Lebanon, and the capital is Nicosia in the center of the island.
• 9:57
SPEAKER_09: So he was born in the capital city of Cyprus.
• 10:00
  SPEAKER_09: Sweet.
• 10:01
SPEAKER_09: So at the time when he was born, I think it was a British colony.
• 10:06
  SPEAKER_09: So I don't know.
• 10:08
SPEAKER_09: I believe it was it says British Cyprus in 1949, but I don't know.
• 10:13
SPEAKER_09: If it's still a British colony, hopefully not.
• 10:16
SPEAKER_09: Hopefully they got their freedom from the Brits like we did.
• 10:20
  SPEAKER_09: Maybe who knows?
• 10:22
SPEAKER_09: Alright, okay, so I've got a fun one for us next.
• 10:27
SPEAKER_09: Uh, baby, won't you please come home?
• 10:30
  SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
• 10:32
SPEAKER_02: Just just listen to his voice.
• 10:34
SPEAKER_02: Makes me want to come home.
• 10:35
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, and you're gonna come home right now.
• 10:45
SPEAKER_08: I've got the blues I feel so low.
• 10:49
SPEAKER_08: I've got the world that I could only make you want to stay.
• 10:57
  SPEAKER_08: Surely what be red.
• 11:01
SPEAKER_08: I'm gonna be asking what you please come.
• 13:05
SPEAKER_00: Ren and David doing their best.
• 13:07
SPEAKER_00: Well, the best they got anyway for W U C on KSJE.
• 14:16
SPEAKER_08: Without my walking stick, I'd go and say I can't look my best a feel undressed without my cake.
• 14:31
SPEAKER_08: I step my walking stick because it may rain when it paws can't be adjust without my case.
• 14:46
SPEAKER_07: If I ever left my house without my walking stick, well it would be something I could never explain other thing that makes me clearly not be able to make, I baby bum, I baby down, I don't bother, eat baby day, I be bad, I'm being bad, eat it, if I ever left my house without my walking speech, well it would be something I could never explain all the thing that makes me clear on our land would go for not be my god without my came.
• 16:57
SPEAKER_09: I kind of liked it.
• 16:57
SPEAKER_09: It was kind of like a big finish.
• 16:59
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 17:00
SPEAKER_09: Well, as as big as Leon Redbone gets, but no, it just it sounded like somebody emitting gas to me.
• 17:11
  SPEAKER_02: But that's just me.
• 17:12
SPEAKER_09: That was by the way, just real quick, that was my walking stick.
• 17:16
  SPEAKER_02: My walking stick.
• 17:18
SPEAKER_02: Alright, well listen, he has elusive uh or he he was elusive about his origins and he never explained the origins of his stage name.
• 17:27
SPEAKER_02: According to Toronto Story Report Star report in 1980, he came to Canada in the mid sixties and uh changed his name via the Ontario Change of Name Biographical uh biographical uh research published in twenty nineteen collaborated his birth name and confirmed that his family was of Armenian origin.
• 17:55
  SPEAKER_02: So he's a pretty cool dude, I think.
• 17:58
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 17:58
SPEAKER_09: And I don't blame him for wanting to be elusive about his origins.
• 18:02
  SPEAKER_09: Number one, for privacy.
• 18:04
  SPEAKER_05: Sure.
• 18:04
SPEAKER_09: And number two, back then people were weird about where you were from.
• 18:08
SPEAKER_09: You know, there was still that kind of like uh stigma, like, oh, you're not from America, well then we won't listen to you.
• 18:14
SPEAKER_09: And it's like, but he's a good musician, listen to him in a while.
• 18:17
SPEAKER_02: I don't ever remember hearing him talk on a talk show or anything like that.
• 18:21
SPEAKER_02: I just remember I just I I don't know, I would just I I would hear him play and he would be on the TV, he would be on, he would come on, and I would have to go in there and just sit and watch.
• 18:32
SPEAKER_02: And I realized that that might be a little weird, but I don't know.
• 18:35
SPEAKER_02: There was just something relaxing and because he never really looked at camera, he was basically looking down while he was singing and playing guitar with that big what did we do?
• 18:44
  SPEAKER_02: It's not a fedora Panama hat.
• 18:46
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the Panama hat.
• 18:47
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 18:47
  SPEAKER_02: Pretty cool guy.
• 18:48
SPEAKER_09: Pretty cool guy, he I've never seen him live, but it sounds like at the very least he had a sort of subdued stage energy, which sometimes can do much more than being bombastic and outlandish.
• 18:59
SPEAKER_09: And you were also mentioning that he even impressed Bob Dylan.
• 19:02
  SPEAKER_02: He did, he did.
• 19:04
SPEAKER_09: Which is not a small feat.
• 19:05
SPEAKER_09: Bob Dylan is a little dejaded.
• 19:08
SPEAKER_02: I thought that was kind of interesting too.
• 19:09
SPEAKER_02: I was looking at that.
• 19:10
SPEAKER_02: Um he um he m he met Bob Dylan at uh the um Mariposa folk festival in nineteen seventy-two and and and uh Dylan was so impressed by Redbone's performance performance that he mentioned it in a Rolling Stone interview.
• 19:28
  SPEAKER_02: Hey! Yes indeed.
• 19:30
SPEAKER_02: That that just that just leading that magazine to a uh feature article on Redbone a year before he had a recording contract.
• 19:38
  SPEAKER_05: Cool, yeah.
• 19:39
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't know.
• 19:40
SPEAKER_02: The guy is just definitely interesting, and honestly, I kind of feel like you and I are a couple of interesting characters.
• 19:47
SPEAKER_02: Not that we're on the same level as Leon Redbone.
• 19:49
SPEAKER_09: No, at least not in guitar playing.
• 19:52
SPEAKER_09: Could Leon Redbone start a podcast?
• 19:54
  SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
• 19:55
  SPEAKER_02: I don't think so.
• 19:58
SPEAKER_02: Well, he could have if he was lucky.
• 19:59
SPEAKER_09: If he really if he really wanted to, he absolutely could have.
• 20:03
SPEAKER_02: His parents probably told him the same thing my dad used to tell me.
• 20:06
SPEAKER_02: Son, you can do anything you set your mind to.
• 20:08
  unknown: Yeah.
• 20:09
SPEAKER_02: And I have my mind set on hearing a rant.
• 20:12
SPEAKER_09: Oh, oh, well, I've got one for you for a while.
• 20:14
SPEAKER_02: Where's my dun dun dun dun dun coding team segue?
• 20:18
  SPEAKER_05: Oh.
• 20:22
SPEAKER_01: Now you have the skill.
• 20:24
  SPEAKER_01: Back to the show.
• 20:29
  SPEAKER_09: Hold on.
• 20:30
  SPEAKER_09: Wrong opening.
• 20:30
  SPEAKER_09: That was the closer.
• 20:32
  SPEAKER_09: Here's the opening.
• 20:32
  SPEAKER_09: Oh my gosh.
• 20:44
SPEAKER_00: When it comes to ranting on entertainment, movies, TV shows, etc., move over the school and ebook.
• 20:53
SPEAKER_00: It's time for Ren Rant.
• 20:58
SPEAKER_09: Alright, so this is one that you've probably heard a lot about, because it's one of the biggest movies of the summer, of the year, potentially.
• 21:05
SPEAKER_09: Um it's the new Christopher Nolan movie, The Odyssey, based on um Homer's Odyssey, you know, that ancient story that before it was even a book was just told orally through poems and stuff.
• 21:18
SPEAKER_09: Stars has a great cast, Matt Damon, Ann Hathaway, uh Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, who's quickly becoming my favorite actor.
• 21:26
SPEAKER_09: The Odyssey is jam-packed with incredible filmmaking, and it was all practical effects, as much as he could do.
• 21:34
  SPEAKER_09: There's a scene where um there's giants.
• 21:36
SPEAKER_09: Matt Damon's character, uh, Odysseus has to fight giants.
• 21:40
SPEAKER_09: And what they did is that they just hired really tall people, and then they got a really short lady to be to play Matt Damon from the back.
• 21:48
SPEAKER_09: So it looks like they're really giant.
• 21:49
SPEAKER_09: And that's just one example of of some of the really cool effects in the movie that are all practical.
• 21:55
SPEAKER_09: Um, there's some really scary scenes too, like with Polyphemus, the uh Cyclops is horrifying.
• 22:03
SPEAKER_09: And uh so maybe be careful when you're taking your kids to go see it because there's some scenes in there that I know that would have traumatized me if I was a little kid.
• 22:12
SPEAKER_09: But otherwise, it's a really good, solid movie and uh great performances all around.
• 22:16
  SPEAKER_09: I definitely recommend it.
• 22:18
SPEAKER_09: I'm gonna try and see it in IMAX soon.
• 22:19
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, sounds good.
• 22:20
SPEAKER_09: Okay, now it's time to play the closing movie.
• 22:24
SPEAKER_09: Now that we've actually had the rant.
• 22:28
SPEAKER_01: Now you have the skill.
• 22:30
  SPEAKER_01: Back to the show.
• 22:42
SPEAKER_09: I tried to play the closer.
• 22:44
SPEAKER_09: We didn't even earn it yet.
• 22:46
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, starting the show with the close.
• 22:48
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 22:49
  SPEAKER_02: Why not?
• 22:50
  SPEAKER_09: I'm avant-garde, Dave.
• 22:51
SPEAKER_09: I'm trying to I'm trying to be different.
• 22:53
SPEAKER_09: Much like Leon Redbone was different in his day.
• 22:56
  SPEAKER_02: There you go.
• 22:57
SPEAKER_09: Definitely king and queen of Segway today.
• 23:02
SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, he was um he was introduced to the to a larger public as a semi-regular musical guest on NBC Saturday night.
• 23:15
  SPEAKER_02: Saturday night.
• 23:16
  SPEAKER_02: For the later generation.
• 23:19
SPEAKER_02: Appearing twice in the first season, which that would have been Saturday night.
• 23:23
SPEAKER_02: And during the nineteen eighties and nineties, he was a frequent guest on the uh tonight show, Johnny Carson.
• 23:30
SPEAKER_02: He was also a guest on a prairie home companion.
• 24:41
SPEAKER_09: Early Crosby or early Crosby.
• 24:44
SPEAKER_02: Um did I say Cosby Crosby?
• 24:46
SPEAKER_02: Okay, I just wanted to make sure.
• 24:50
  SPEAKER_02: That's right, not real.
• 24:54
  SPEAKER_09: Unfortunately.
• 24:56
SPEAKER_09: Okay, so I looked it up too for home competition.
• 24:58
SPEAKER_09: It was a weekly radio variety show created and hosted by Garrison Keeler and aired live from 1974 to 2016.
• 25:05
SPEAKER_09: So it was a radio variety radio variety show.
• 25:12
SPEAKER_09: He's been all over the place.
• 25:14
SPEAKER_09: Um he's one of those artists that like once you realize how many things he's been in and how prolific he is in certain areas, you're like there's the snowman, the sort of like motion animation looking snowman voiced on redbone voice.
• 25:38
SPEAKER_09: And then over the credits, they sang, I think maybe it's cold outside with Zoe Deschanel, who's also an elf.
• 25:45
  SPEAKER_09: So just another thing.
• 25:46
SPEAKER_09: Like, yeah, he's he's been around, he's been doing things.
• 25:49
SPEAKER_09: And this is a song that I think you recommended to me a while ago, Diddy Wa Diddy.
• 25:57
SPEAKER_02: Yes, I love this song.
• 25:59
SPEAKER_09: So we're gonna check it out.
• 26:00
SPEAKER_02: Just kinda, yeah, well, just listen.
• 26:02
  SPEAKER_02: It's cool.
• 26:08
SPEAKER_08: There's a great big mystery, and it sure is worrying me, it's diddy wa diddy.
• 26:15
SPEAKER_08: Yes, did he wad did it?
• 26:18
SPEAKER_08: Somebody tell me what did he what did it mean?
• 26:23
SPEAKER_08: I went out and I walked around.
• 26:26

  SPEAKER_09: Hardly.
• 29:52
SPEAKER_09: More of the wake up call is coming up.
• 31:04
SPEAKER_08: News book chronic, have you heard the news?
• 31:09
SPEAKER_08: I should get a love at the walking blues and I kept them walking.
• 31:18
  SPEAKER_08: I don't walk by troubles away.
• 31:25
SPEAKER_08: Well I'm so glad trouble don't last away.
• 31:35
SPEAKER_08: It used to be my sleep motherfuckers out on me.
• 31:41
SPEAKER_08: Won't be together like we used to be and I kept on walking trying to walk my trouble to week.
• 31:56
SPEAKER_08: Well, I'm so glad that was the wave.
• 32:32
SPEAKER_08: Got the hard luck blues when hardlocked towns are gone.
• 32:37
SPEAKER_08: All I heard was all in front, I kept on walking, got to walk my troubles away.
• 32:51
SPEAKER_08: Well I'm so blessed, troubles not less a week.
• 33:36
  SPEAKER_08: I kept them walking.
• 33:39
SPEAKER_08: I did have my trouble the way I'm so glad trouble down last the way.
• 34:52
  SPEAKER_02: I I I love this man.
• 34:53
  SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna lie.
• 34:54
  SPEAKER_02: He's great.
• 34:55
  SPEAKER_02: I do.
• 34:56
  SPEAKER_02: I I don't know why, but it's just something about it.
• 34:59
SPEAKER_09: The the word I've been searching for for his music is amongst other things, skilled, um well done, you know, well produced, but also relaxed.
• 35:07
SPEAKER_09: Like you listen to it and you just want to like kick back and not overdone.
• 35:11
  SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's not overdone ever.
• 35:14
  SPEAKER_02: It's production.
• 35:15
SPEAKER_02: It's very simple, it's very clean, yeah.
• 35:17
SPEAKER_09: Like at the like at the most, I think I was playing another song, My Walking Stick, and it had castinets in it, and I was like, wow, that's really out there for him.
• 35:28
SPEAKER_09: So anytime he adds a new um instrument to something, it it's it's always exciting because he doesn't need a lot.
• 35:36
SPEAKER_09: It's like um like how Adele can get a number one hit with just singing to the piano.
• 35:42
SPEAKER_09: I feel the same with him.
• 35:43
SPEAKER_09: I feel like he he gets a lot done with just his guitar and just his voice.
• 35:50
SPEAKER_02: Because he plays with emotion.
• 35:52
  SPEAKER_02: He's very, very dry.
• 35:57
SPEAKER_09: But I mean some of the best wines are dry.
• 36:00
  SPEAKER_02: There you go.
• 36:01
SPEAKER_09: And when I was in Japan, they have a beer brand there called Asihi, and they have a they have a beer that's called Super Dry.
• 36:08
SPEAKER_09: Oh, and it's probably one of the best beers I've ever had.
• 36:11
SPEAKER_09: So sometimes dry is good.
• 36:13
SPEAKER_02: I've had Japanese beer years ago.
• 36:15
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know where I got imported.
• 36:16
SPEAKER_02: It was in somewhere in Phoenix when I lived in Phoenix in one of the big liquor stores.
• 36:21
SPEAKER_02: And I was like, Oh, I'm gonna try this.
• 36:23
  SPEAKER_02: And it was interesting.
• 36:25
SPEAKER_02: Um I I don't know that I liked it that much, but it was okay.
• 36:28
  SPEAKER_09: Okay.
• 36:29
SPEAKER_09: I'd be interested to know what kind you tried because I don't know.
• 36:31
SPEAKER_09: I tried Sapporo when I was in Japan, and I tried Asehi.
• 36:36
SPEAKER_09: I even tried a um I even tried an Indian beer while I was there.
• 36:40
SPEAKER_09: I'd have to look up what it was, but it was really good.
• 36:42
SPEAKER_02: All I know is it was very blonde.
• 36:44
  SPEAKER_02: It was very light.
• 36:45
  SPEAKER_09: Very light.
• 36:46
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
• 36:47
SPEAKER_09: I mean, and that's kind of what I like from a beer.
• 36:48
SPEAKER_09: The asehi super dry is it's very malty.
• 36:51
SPEAKER_09: It's you know, very bread tasting in a good way.
• 36:55
SPEAKER_09: A good a good beer sometimes tastes like you're drinking a loaf of bread, but it it was really good.
• 36:59
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so you have more of a dark the darker the better.
• 37:02
SPEAKER_09: I mean you know something stronger, more like the Guinness Stout.
• 37:06
  SPEAKER_09: Guinness.
• 37:07
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 37:07
  SPEAKER_09: Very cool.
• 37:08
  SPEAKER_02: Stoutly, baby.
• 37:09
SPEAKER_09: Well, no matter what, beer is refreshing, much like Leon Redbone.
• 37:13
SPEAKER_09: And here's another song that Dave likes.
• 37:19
  SPEAKER_09: This is Tina.
• 37:21
  SPEAKER_09: Oh, yeah.
• 37:22
  SPEAKER_09: Tina.
• 37:23
  SPEAKER_09: This is fun.
• 37:30
SPEAKER_08: Take that boat job to your mom.
• 37:33
SPEAKER_08: Take that subject to your mom.
• 38:07
SPEAKER_08: I got a girl living on the hill.
• 38:10
SPEAKER_08: If she won't have this little will, Mama got a baby, da do that Mama gotta be done, I don't know.
• 38:45
SPEAKER_08: I gotta get a honey boom, give a little give a shit to get Mama gotta be a teen-da-na.

SPEAKER_08: I got that, Mama got a baby, I don't know, too, I don't know, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
• 40:29
  SPEAKER_00: Exclusively on KSJE.
• 40:48
SPEAKER_08: In the town of Louisville, lived a man that called Big Bad Bill.
• 40:55
SPEAKER_08: I want to tell ya, he sure was tough, he certainly did strut that stuff.
• 41:03
SPEAKER_08: He had those scared to death when he walked by, they held their breath.
• 41:10
SPEAKER_08: He was a fighting man, sure enough.
• 41:17
SPEAKER_08: Now Bill took himself a while just to lead a different life.
• 41:25
SPEAKER_08: Big Bad Bill is sweet with him now.
• 41:33
SPEAKER_08: Married life has changed him somehow.
• 41:40
SPEAKER_08: Here's a man that they all used to fear.
• 41:44
SPEAKER_08: Now the people call him sweet paper will it dear, stronger than Samson.
• 41:50
SPEAKER_08: I declare till a hot mama bob declared Big Bat Bill.
• 41:57
  SPEAKER_08: Don't find any more.
• 42:15
SPEAKER_08: Now we've got to see his mama every night.
• 42:19
SPEAKER_08: Big Bat Bill is sweet William now.
• 43:05
SPEAKER_08: Wash his dishes, any mobs up to flow.
• 43:12
SPEAKER_08: Used to spend his evenings looking for fate.
• 43:16
SPEAKER_08: Now he's got to see his mama every night.
• 43:20
  SPEAKER_08: Big Bad Bill.
• 43:59
SPEAKER_00: Here's David with things that make you go, hmm, all your money back.
• 44:06
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna tell you, Ren, this one really made me go, hmm, and I kind of feel bad for Willie because of it.
• 44:11
SPEAKER_02: But cows don't like Willie Nelson.
• 44:15
  SPEAKER_09: No?
• 44:15
SPEAKER_02: No, and here's the proof.
• 44:17
SPEAKER_02: It's a funny fact for you, but a dairy cow will produce up to 3% more milk when listening to music.
• 44:25
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 44:26
SPEAKER_02: But they don't like country music, especially Willie Nelson.
• 44:31
SPEAKER_02: They need something with a good beat.
• 44:37
SPEAKER_09: I wonder what it is about Willie Nelson that they.
• 44:40
  SPEAKER_09: don't like.
• 44:40
SPEAKER_02: Because you can't dance Dan even stop.
• 44:42
  SPEAKER_09: Because it doesn't have a beat.
• 44:43
  SPEAKER_09: Okay.
• 44:43
SPEAKER_02: Well it has a beat, but it's not a two-step kind of beat.
• 44:46
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 44:47
SPEAKER_02: You know, just that's the way Willie is.
• 44:49
SPEAKER_02: Instead of things that make you go, mm-To that's pretty good.
• 44:57
SPEAKER_02: Well it's a spotlight show today, or actually for some people it might be for your consideration.
• 45:02
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 45:03
SPEAKER_09: Um but which is pretty fitting for Leon Redbone.
• 45:08
SPEAKER_09: It's not that he isn't a big deal and hasn't had cultural impact.
• 45:12
SPEAKER_02: It's just that you may not have realized it's a little bit more than I didn't know that what what you said in the first half about the different shows that he'd been on, the different voices that he had done.
• 45:21
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 45:22
SPEAKER_02: It kind of blew me away.
• 45:23
SPEAKER_09: He's he's one of those personalities that's been floating around.
• 45:26
SPEAKER_09: And then I think his version of polywadd polywally doodle all the way all the day yes that's the one that I know.
• 45:32
