- 0:00Following Jesus isn't about having all the answers. It's about trusting God one step at a time.
- 0:06Welcome to Following Jesus in Real Life, a special series from Have Faith,
- 0:10Let It Begin. I'm Angel Santana.
- 0:12Today, we'll have honest conversations about faith, doubt, hope,
- 0:17grace, and what it truly means to follow Christ, not just on Sundays, but every single day.
- 0:24Have Faith, Let It Begin starts right now.
- 0:35Welcome to Have Faith, Let It Begin. This is Ariel Santana.
- 0:39Can you believe I'm seven years old already? I'm old enough now to introduce my dad.
- 0:45Ladies and gentlemen, your host, my dad, Angel Santana.
- 1:24He
- 1:53Walks the road walks the road purpose? Your life has a purpose.
- 1:57Today's episode is for you.
- 1:59Here's a heart check for you. We often think that God only works during the
- 2:03big moments, promotions, miracles, breakthroughs, and the answered prayer.
- 2:10If some of God's greatest works happens during that ordinary day,
- 2:15the quiet days, the waiting days, the unseen days, because before God reveals
- 2:21purpose, he often prepares the person.
- 2:24We're going to talk about that. Think about a builder constructing a house.
- 2:28Before anyone admires the finished home, a foundation has to be laid out.
- 2:34Most of that work reminds us of the work that lies ahead.
- 2:40And most of the work happens where no one can see it.
- 2:44The same is true with our spiritual lives. God often spends more time preparing
- 2:49our character than promoting our calling.
- 2:51Why, you probably ask. Well, because if our character can't support our calling,
- 2:58the weight of success can become more than we're ready to carry.
- 3:03Preparation is never wasted. Let me give you a biblical perspective.
- 3:08Throughout scripture, we see that God often prepared people long before he called
- 3:13them into the roles for which they were remembered.
- 3:16Moses spent years tending sheep before leaving Israel.
- 3:21David was a sheep, was a shepherd, a sheep herder, if you want to say that,
- 3:26shepherd before becoming a king.
- 3:28The disciples spent years learning from Jesus before beginning their journey
- 3:32and being sent into ministry.
- 3:34Preparation wasn't a detour. It was a part of God's plan.
- 3:39God wasn't denying or delaying his purpose. He was shaping his people for it.
- 3:45How about a personal perspective for you? Looking back on my own life,
- 3:49there were many times I didn't understand.
- 3:52Moments when I wondered why certain doors stayed closed.
- 3:56Times when I questioned whether I was moving in the right direction.
- 4:00But in hindsight, has taught me something.
- 4:04Some of the experiences I once
- 4:05saw as setbacks became the very things God later used to strengthen me.
- 4:11What felt like waiting was actually preparation. What felt like delay,
- 4:16often God building a stronger foundation.
- 4:20That's what he was doing. And how do I live that out? How do we live it out
- 4:24today? Well, maybe today you're waiting for the next chapter.
- 4:28So don't overlook the chapter you're living right now.
- 4:32This this time matters the conversations you have today matter the small acts
- 4:39of faithfulness matter the lessons you're learning matter,
- 4:45god rarely wastes an experience,
- 4:48even when you doubt or you don't,
- 4:51well i shouldn't say doubt even when you don't understand it let's go that route,
- 4:56He can use it to prepare you for something and for what's ahead.
- 5:01So keep faithful where you are. Here's your faith challenge this week.
- 5:06Spend time reflecting on your journey and ask yourself, what has God already been teaching me?
- 5:13Write down three lessons that you've learned through your difficult time.
- 5:18Then thank God for shaping you, even when you couldn't.
- 5:23Even when you couldn't see the purpose at time.
- 5:27And finally, pray about it. Say a prayer like this.
- 5:31Lord, prepare me for whatever you have next. So help me be faithful today.
- 5:38You may not know exactly what tomorrow holds, but you can trust that the one
- 5:43thing, you can definitely trust the one who holds tomorrow.
- 5:49Your current time is not meaningless. Your waiting is not wasted.
- 5:53Your story is not being written.
- 5:56It's still being written. God is preparing you, not just for what he wants you
- 6:03to do, but for the person he is calling you to become.
- 6:07Let's pray about it. Heavenly Father, thank you for working in our lives,
- 6:10even when we can't see the whole picture.
- 6:13Help us trust you during this preparation.
- 6:18Give us patience when we're waiting. Give us courage when we're uncertain.
- 6:23Shape our hearts, strengthen our character, and teach us to remain faithful
- 6:27in the ordinary moments of our lives.
- 6:31May we never underestimate what you're doing behind the scenes.
- 6:35Just prepare us for the plans that you have for us. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
- 6:40Here's today's takeaway. God is often preparing you in the places where you
- 6:45think nothing is happening.
- 6:47Thank you for joining me for episode nine of 10, Following Jesus in Real Life.
- 6:51Remember, preparation is part of God's purpose.
- 6:55So stay faithful, stay patient, stay hopeful, and always remember to never forget,
- 7:04to have faith and let it begin.
- 7:07Coming up next, our final episode of the season, not the season,
- 7:11of the series, excuse me, I misspoke.
- 7:14The final episode of this series. We do 10 parts to every series.
- 7:20And it's called, You're Closer Than You Think. So don't give up now.
- 7:25As we conclude this journey together, we discover that the growth God has been
- 7:30working in us often becomes visible only when we look back.
- 7:35If you ever felt like you're not making progress in your faith,
- 7:39this final episode is a reminder that God is still working and you're closer than you think.
- 7:46We'll see you tomorrow. Take care.
