- 0:06Hi, I'm Pete Smith. Let's look today on Compass
- 0:09Point at some 21st century problems that existed in the 1st
- 0:13century. Paul warned about these
- 0:15particular issues in First Timothy 5, verse 13.
- 0:18And not only idle, but also gossips and busy bodies saying
- 0:22things which they ought not. Idleness, it's been well said,
- 0:26is the teacher of every sin. In their idleness these folk
- 0:29would wander from house to house without good cause, and in doing
- 0:33so would fall into the snare of becoming gossips and busy
- 0:36bodies, indulging in frivolous and harmful conversation, and
- 0:40carrying from house to house mischievous matters, prying into
- 0:43the business of others which was none of their business.
- 0:45Idleness and gossiping can ruin a person's life if allowed to
- 0:49become lasting habits. Sadly, for some, it's led to a
- 0:53whole host of sinful lusts and a wasted life.
