- 0:00Speaker 1: On verb and i've got opinions you'll want to hear
- 0:02Speaker 1: after guardians baseball on 570 wkbn.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Well we're back here in downtown cleveland and for the
- 0:12Speaker 2: first time this year cleveland is two games under 500
- 0:15Speaker 2: not a very good homestand against arizona and the mets
- 0:19Speaker 2: that obviously is an understatement as cleveland won one of
- 0:24Speaker 2: the six games on this homestand and They've got to
- 0:28Speaker 2: get this thing turned around and turned around in a
- 0:31Speaker 2: hurry because you step up in competition starting tomorrow night
- 0:36Speaker 2: against the Chicago White Sox, Cleveland getting swept by the
- 0:40Speaker 2: New York Mets. The one encouraging thing about this homestand,
- 0:45Speaker 2: or at least the three-game series after the deadline, maybe
- 0:49Speaker 2: be a little more specific, as Cleveland finally gets is
- 0:54Speaker 2: starting to get some traffic. They went 5-4-11 today with
- 0:59Speaker 2: men in scoring position. In the three ballgames, Cleveland had
- 1:04Speaker 2: 43 at-bats with men in scoring position. That's an average
- 1:08Speaker 2: of 14 at-bats a game with a runner in scoring position,
- 1:13Speaker 2: which is pretty much unheard of.
- 1:15Speaker 1: And obviously, the.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Key now is to capitalize on that and get better
- 1:20Speaker 2: pitching because things just Didn't click at all in this series,
- 1:26Speaker 2: and the Mets came in here and took it to Cleveland,
- 1:29Speaker 2: winning it today to get the sweep. Mets, 13 runs,
- 1:33Speaker 2: 18 hits, no errors, 11 left. Cleveland, 6 runs, 10 hits,
- 1:38Speaker 2: no errors, 8 men stranded. The rookie, Nolan McClain, got
- 1:41Speaker 2: the win. He's 8-7. Foster Griffin, in his Cleveland debut,
- 1:45Speaker 2: took the loss. He is 12-4. Time of the game,
- 1:49Speaker 2: 3 hours, 2 minutes. And the attendance, 26,764. Cleveland heads
- 1:52Speaker 2: to Chicago, 57-59. Mets head to Pittsburgh, 58. And 66.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Rosie's got the wrap-up show. That'll come your way next.
- 2:08Speaker 2: This is Tom Hamilton. Thanks for joining us. And we'll
- 2:12Speaker 2: be with you tomorrow night, 740 Cleveland time, for the
- 2:16Speaker 2: first pitch from the south side of Chicago. Again, the
- 2:20Speaker 2: final today, Mets 13, Guardians 6.

- 4:12Speaker 5: Good afternoon once again, everyone. Welcome back to Progressive Field
- 4:16Speaker 5: in downtown Cleveland, where the Guardians lost today to the
- 4:19Speaker 5: Mets 13-6 as the Mets complete a three-game series sweep.
- 4:24Speaker 5: We will have the highlights and hear from manager Stephen
- 4:27Speaker 5: Vogt in just a little bit, but first a look
- 4:30Speaker 5: at our Northeast Ohio Ford dealers out-of-town scoreboard and a
- 4:34Speaker 5: spattering of play in the major leagues this afternoon on
- 4:37Speaker 5: a getaway day for many. The Brewers at home, they
- 4:40Speaker 5: lead the Pirates in the top half of the eighth
- 4:42Speaker 5: inning by a score of 5-2. Elsewhere at Wrigley Field,
- 4:47Speaker 5: the Blue Jays are shutting down the Cubs. It is
- 4:50Speaker 5: 1-0 Toronto. That game heading to the seventh inning at Wrigley.
- 4:56Speaker 5: They're underway out in Seattle, top of the first. The
- 4:58Speaker 5: Tigers and Mariners scoreless, and the rest of the action
- 5:03Speaker 5: is later on. Now, there was a couple of finals
- 5:05Speaker 5: from this afternoon. The Angels defeating the Orioles 4-1 down
- 5:09Speaker 5: at Camden Yards, and it was the Reds 6, the
- 5:12Speaker 5: Athletics 5 in Cincinnati. Right here, the Mets 13, the
- 5:17Speaker 5: Guardians 6. Stay with us. We'll have our Honda drive-at-home
- 5:20Speaker 5: game summary after this timeout. on the Cleveland Clinic Radio Network.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Good Wednesday morning, everyone.
- 5:29Speaker 5: Welcome back to Guardians Wrap-Up at Progressive Field. The Guardians
- 5:32Speaker 5: coming up short today again to the Mets. Third time
- 5:35Speaker 5: in a row to New York. 13-6 your final score
- 5:38Speaker 5: today on a day where it started promising. In the
- 5:42Speaker 5: bottom half of the first inning. After Foster Griffin in
- 5:45Speaker 5: his Guardians debut struck out the side in the top
- 5:48Speaker 5: half of the first, the Guardians got it going in
- 5:50Speaker 5: the bottom of the inning. Chase DeLauder and Jose Ramirez
- 5:54Speaker 5: with back-to-back walks with one away against Nolan McClain, one
- 5:57Speaker 5: of the top starters in baseball. Then Nathaniel Lowe with
- 6:01Speaker 5: a single loaded the bases for Angel Martinez.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Infield back double play depth. The pitch. And a line
- 6:09Speaker 1: drive back up the middle into center. That's a base hit.
- 6:12Speaker 1: De Lauder scores. Ramirez scores. Lowe stops at second.
- 6:18Speaker 2: And there's the huge hit. Cleveland's been longing for and
- 6:22Speaker 2: it's delivered by Angel Martinez. He rifles a two-run single
- 6:29Speaker 2: right back up the middle. And the Guardians not trying
- 6:33Speaker 2: to do too much here in the first inning. And
- 6:36Speaker 2: they have made McLean pay for two walks. As DeLauder
- 6:42Speaker 2: Ramirez both walked, they have both scored. And Angel Martinez,
- 6:48Speaker 2: now 36 RBIs.
- 6:50Speaker 5: But the lead did not last on this day as
- 6:52Speaker 5: in the top half of the second inning. Marcus Simeon
- 6:55Speaker 5: with a solo home run. His 13th put the Mets
- 6:58Speaker 5: on the board. And then later on in the inning,
- 7:00Speaker 5: Luis Torres with a two-run shot. His second in the series,
- 7:04Speaker 5: fourth on the season. That made it 3-2 New York.
- 7:08Speaker 5: The Mets added two more in the third inning on
- 7:10Speaker 5: an RBI triple from Carson Benj and a sack fly
- 7:14Speaker 5: from Simeon. That made it a 5-2 ball game. They
- 7:17Speaker 5: made it 6-2 on an RBI single from pinch hitter
- 7:22Speaker 5: Cameron Young. That was in the top half of the
- 7:25Speaker 5: fifth inning. Made it a 6-2 game. Now the Guardians
- 7:28Speaker 5: did show some life in the bottom half of the
- 7:30Speaker 5: fifth inning as they had a couple of men on
- 7:32Speaker 5: base with one out thanks to singles from De Lauder
- 7:35Speaker 5: and Ramirez setting the table for Nathaniel Lowe.
- 7:39Speaker 2: The 3-1 pitch. Swung on and blasted. High and deep
- 7:43Speaker 2: right field. Home run, Nathaniel Lowe. That is why.
- 7:49Speaker 1: He is here.
- 7:51Speaker 2: A three-run home run off the bat of Nathaniel Lowe.
- 7:55Speaker 1: And just like that, it's a one-run ball game.
- 7:59Speaker 5: New York 6, the Guardians 5. First home run in
- 8:05Speaker 5: a Guardians uniform. That did not take long for Nathaniel Lowe.
- 8:10Speaker 5: And it comes at a great time. But that was
- 8:13Speaker 5: as close as the Guardians got on this day as
- 8:16Speaker 5: the Mets would pull away with a three-run seven thanks
- 8:20Speaker 5: to a three-run home run from Francisco Lindor, his 10th
- 8:23Speaker 5: home run on the season. And then they scored four
- 8:26Speaker 5: more times in the eighth inning. An RBI double from
- 8:29Speaker 5: Francisco Alvarez. and two bases loaded walks as well, and
- 8:34Speaker 5: an infield single that brought in a run from Beau Bichette,
- 8:37Speaker 5: and that four-run inning put it away. The Guardians did
- 8:39Speaker 5: score a run in the bottom half of the ninth
- 8:42Speaker 5: inning on Chase DeLauder's RBI single to give us our
- 8:45Speaker 5: final score of 13-6. Final line, 13 runs, 18 hits,
- 8:50Speaker 5: no errors, and 11 men left on base for New York.
- 8:55Speaker 5: For the Guardians, six runs, 10 hits, no errors, eight
- 8:58Speaker 5: men left stranded. for the guardians the winning pitcher nolan
- 9:02Speaker 5: mclean now eight and seven foster griffin takes the loss
- 9:05Speaker 5: falling to 12 and four time of the game three

- 11:26Speaker 5: winner today to complete a three-game series sweep, 13-6 your
- 11:30Speaker 5: final score. Let's head downstairs and hear from manager Stephen Vogt.
- 11:35Speaker 10: What did you make of Foster's first start?
- 11:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, obviously the stuff is really good. I
- 11:42Speaker 4: think that's what we saw. I thought a couple curveballs
- 11:44Speaker 4: got left up, you know, but Again, for the first
- 11:47Speaker 4: time seeing him pitch, I think it's really exciting. I
- 11:50Speaker 4: know he would have liked to have had a better
- 11:52Speaker 4: one his first time out with us, but obviously this
- 11:55Speaker 4: guy's been throwing the ball well all year. Just kind
- 11:57Speaker 4: of left a couple curveballs up that they didn't miss.
- 12:00Speaker 1: So he was going to be a new guy. He's
- 12:02Speaker 1: going to call his own pitches.
- 12:03Speaker 11: That was something you would see doing that routinely with Washington?
- 12:06Speaker 4: Yeah, he said he'd been calling his own game for
- 12:08Speaker 4: the majority of the year, so we thought, why change that?
- 12:11Speaker 4: I don't think there was anything wrong with the mix.
- 12:13Speaker 4: I think just a couple pitches got left up, a
- 12:16Speaker 4: couple walks, and they made him pay.
- 12:19Speaker 1: He can't shake himself off.
- 12:21Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right.
- 12:23Speaker 10: You guys are two games below 500 for the first
- 12:26Speaker 10: time since August last year. What's the vibe with this team?
- 12:32Speaker 4: Honestly, I think the vibes are really good. I think we're,
- 12:35Speaker 4: you know, this is the first three days with this
- 12:37Speaker 4: group together. And I think there's a lot of things
- 12:41Speaker 4: to be excited about. Obviously, we need to win some ballgames.
- 12:43Speaker 4: We're kind of in it right now. We haven't played
- 12:45Speaker 4: a complete game in, you know, in a little while.
- 12:48Speaker 4: So I think for us, it's get back to making
- 12:51Speaker 4: it happen. You know, I think that's the bottom line.
- 12:54Speaker 4: We just have to go make it happen, keep playing,
- 12:57Speaker 4: keep doing our thing. It's going to turn, and we're
- 13:00Speaker 4: going to make it turn.
- 13:01Speaker 9: So it's a feeling, I guess, you pitch well, those
- 13:04Speaker 9: are the nights you're not hitting, and when you hit well,
- 13:06Speaker 9: those are the nights you're not pitching.
- 13:08Speaker 4: It's kind of felt that way for a little while.
- 13:09Speaker 4: I mean, you know, played a great game on Sunday,
- 13:12Speaker 4: you know, and then the last three have been pretty tough.
- 13:14Speaker 4: You know, we've lost kind of three different ways. So, again,
- 13:18Speaker 4: I think the guys have been really excited. The guys
- 13:21Speaker 4: have been in really good spirits. And I think for us,
- 13:24Speaker 4: it's just time to go make it happen. And let's
- 13:26Speaker 4: start playing well and let's start winning ballgames.
- 13:31Speaker 10: What's it feel like going into Chicago, you know, playing
- 13:33Speaker 10: the way you guys are now with, you know, at
- 13:37Speaker 10: least a three-game deficit?
- 13:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I think obviously we wish we were in a
- 13:41Speaker 4: different position record-wise going into the weekend. But we get
- 13:44Speaker 4: three games with the people we're chasing. I think that's
- 13:46Speaker 4: the way we're looking at it. And they're obviously a
- 13:49Speaker 4: really good team, and so are we. So I think
- 13:52Speaker 4: the guys are going to have a lot of excitement
- 13:54Speaker 4: and a lot of energy going into tomorrow. We're really
- 13:57Speaker 4: good about turning the page from the day before. So
- 14:00Speaker 4: let's turn the page from this three-game series, and let's
- 14:03Speaker 4: get ready to win a series over the weekend.
- 14:06Speaker 6: When you talk about you guys being really good and
- 14:08Speaker 6: having that mentality of being able to turn the page,
- 14:11Speaker 6: does that come from you?
- 14:12Speaker 12: Does that come from certain guys in the clubhouse who
- 14:14Speaker 12: really sets that tone at being.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Able to have a short memory?
- 14:16Speaker 1: I think it comes from the whole group.
- 14:17Speaker 4: You know, everybody that comes to work here is ready
- 14:21Speaker 4: to win every day. And, you know, again, the players,
- 14:25Speaker 4: the players lead that and then we support that. So
- 14:29Speaker 4: one tough series, isn't going to get us down. You know,
- 14:32Speaker 4: it's no secret. We know where we are in the,
- 14:35Speaker 4: you know, in the, in the race, but we just
- 14:38Speaker 4: need to make it happen. We just need to go,
- 14:39Speaker 4: go play better and win games.
- 14:42Speaker 10: What's the, I mean, the advantage, the disadvantage of playing
- 14:45Speaker 10: a team like the Mets is simply they hit the
- 14:49Speaker 10: ball out of the park. I think they got homer
- 14:51Speaker 10: to nine to one and that you, you guys got to,
- 14:54Speaker 10: you know, like put two walks, three singles and you
- 14:58Speaker 10: scored two runs.
- 14:59Speaker 4: We're just too very, you know, built very different. You know,
- 15:02Speaker 4: I think, For us, we just have to play our game.
- 15:05Speaker 4: We can't worry about our opponent. We have to know
- 15:06Speaker 4: what they do and know their tendencies. But, again, that's
- 15:09Speaker 4: a really good team over there. They've got a lot
- 15:10Speaker 4: of talent. I know their record isn't indicative of it,
- 15:13Speaker 4: but we saw it. We saw what they can do.
- 15:16Speaker 4: We made mistakes, and they didn't miss them, and that's
- 15:18Speaker 4: what veteran hitters do. But our guys, I was really
- 15:21Speaker 4: pleased with the way we played offensively. Obviously, we had
- 15:25Speaker 4: some tough innings pitching-wise, but we're going to be ready
- 15:28Speaker 4: to go.
- 15:31Speaker 5: That is manager Steven Vogt following the 13-6 Mets win.
- 15:35Speaker 5: With the loss today, the Guardians now two games under
- 15:38Speaker 5: the 500 mark at 57-59. First time all year they've
- 15:42Speaker 5: been that far under 500 as they head into play
- 15:46Speaker 5: against the White Sox. Tomorrow night in Chicago, a 7-40
- 15:50Speaker 5: first pitch. We'll have it for you starting with Guardians
- 15:53Speaker 5: warm-up at 7-05. Want to thank the following people for
- 15:58Speaker 5: their help on today's broadcast.
- 15:59Speaker 2: As always..
- 16:01Speaker 5: Back at command center, Brian Motze. And, of course, Tom Hamilton.
- 16:05Speaker 5: This is Jim Rosenhouse reminding you of the final score
- 16:08Speaker 5: from Progressive Field in downtown Cleveland. The New York Mets, 13.
- 16:12Speaker 5: The Cleveland Guardians, 6. Have a good night, everyone.
- 16:17Speaker 1: 100 years ago in 19... Now, Ron Verb. On NewsRadio 570, WKBN. Well,
- 16:24Speaker 1: there you go. What a shellacking that was to listen to, huh?
- 16:27Speaker 1: NewsRadio 570, WKBN. It was... That wasn't too pleasant now,
- 16:32Speaker 1: was it, to pay attention to that happening today? Anyway,
- 16:35Speaker 1: good afternoon. 4.35 in the afternoon. Ron Furb underway till 5.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Legal show at 5. John Arnold with Money Talk 6
- 16:41Speaker 1: to 7 tonight. So kind of a short time to
- 16:45Speaker 1: conversate here this afternoon. On NewsRadio 570, WKBN, and we
- 16:49Speaker 1: welcome you to the broadcast. You're on the air.
- 16:53Speaker 10: Hey, Ron.
- 16:54Speaker 12: Let me take 30 seconds of your time. Everybody's talking
- 16:58Speaker 12: about everything concerning socialism.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Yes.
- 17:03Speaker 12: You know, pretty much other than our health care, everything
- 17:08Speaker 12: we do is basically socialistic society. And when you talk
- 17:13Speaker 12: about the police and fire and our education, most of
- 17:19Speaker 12: those things are all socialist things. I don't think.
- 17:28Speaker 1: There's socialist ideas at all. Socialism takes, in many cases,
- 17:34Speaker 1: personal property and personal achievements, individuality away. It just takes
- 17:42Speaker 1: individuality away. That's socialism. Paying taxes to have a police
- 17:47Speaker 1: department or somebody plow your roads, that isn't socialism. That's
- 17:52Speaker 1: paying for government services to perform a duty that's much
- 17:55Speaker 1: different than the private sector. You know, Colin, it's much different.
- 18:01Speaker 1: That isn't socialism at all, having taxes. having those services.
- 18:05Speaker 1: That's communism. That's what socialism is all about.
- 18:08Speaker 12: Property goes to everybody. Again, there are certain points, but
- 18:14Speaker 12: most of the things are, the government does those things
- 18:18Speaker 12: as far as when it comes to plowing your roads
- 18:21Speaker 12: and stuff like that, whether it's federal or state or local.
- 18:25Speaker 12: As far as communism, it's really not that Horrible of
- 18:32Speaker 12: an idea. You know, I'm not a socialist. I don't
- 18:35Speaker 12: mind some of the policies, but, you know, communism is
- 18:39Speaker 12: one thing I can sit here and agree with you
- 18:41Speaker 12: guys on. But to demonize that is kind of, you know,
- 18:45Speaker 12: I just want to throw my point out there.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Well, demonize it. I mean, do you believe in personal responsibility?
- 18:52Speaker 1: Why is it that we should punish people for putting
- 18:56Speaker 1: the effort forth? and saying, well, we've got to take
- 18:59Speaker 1: from you in a socialist society and give it to
- 19:01Speaker 1: this person over here who hasn't done any of that
- 19:04Speaker 1: kind of stuff.
- 19:05Speaker 12: I mean, that's... Well, I mean, I agree with you that,
- 19:07Speaker 12: you know, of course, all my life I've taken responsibility
- 19:11Speaker 12: of my actions and things I do. I don't ask
- 19:14Speaker 12: for anybody from anything to deal with the.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Problems I have.
- 19:17Speaker 11: J.J., get down.
- 19:18Speaker 12: The only thing that I have issues with is, you know,
- 19:21Speaker 12: like USAID, that's... When he took that away, you know,
- 19:25Speaker 12: when Musk took that away, that affected a lot of
- 19:27Speaker 12: people worldwide. You know, again, I understand not giving money to, like,
- 19:31Speaker 12: you know, the Ukraine for taking care of people's, you know,
- 19:36Speaker 12: their paychecks and stuff like that that we were doing
- 19:40Speaker 12: under Biden. That's one thing that I don't agree with.
- 19:43Speaker 12: But when you take it away from, you know, you know,
- 19:47Speaker 12: children that are in Sudan and stuff like that, and
- 19:49Speaker 12: there was a lot of that money went to them. And,
- 19:52Speaker 12: you know, that's some of the issues I have. And again,
- 19:55Speaker 12: I agree that we're going to keep money at home.
- 19:57Speaker 12: We're going to take care of people at home. But,
- 20:00Speaker 12: you know, again, I can I can go with, you know,
- 20:03Speaker 12: you look at the policies that Trump's doing right now
- 20:05Speaker 12: where he's making a lot of money and some of
- 20:08Speaker 12: those people that are the elites And there's people like
- 20:10Speaker 12: you and me that are, well, you're not struggling, you know,
- 20:13Speaker 12: but people like myself and my family and other families
- 20:16Speaker 12: are struggling. But, no, I don't believe, and I don't
- 20:20Speaker 12: believe that, you know, people that are on the dole,
- 20:23Speaker 12: so to speak, those people, they get caught eventually, Ron.
- 20:26Speaker 12: Anybody who's sitting on their ass, excuse me, sitting on
- 20:29Speaker 12: their keister in their basement, they get found out eventually.
- 20:35Speaker 12: They can, you know, try to do their... pull the
- 20:38Speaker 12: pull the strings but then eventually they're going to get
- 20:40Speaker 12: caught but uh as far as you know the usa
- 20:43Speaker 12: that that we needed that and people people are struggling
- 20:46Speaker 12: people are dying because of that and i just have
- 20:48Speaker 12: a problem with um with us you know not and
- 20:51Speaker 12: not demonizing you know elon musk is not a very
- 20:54Speaker 12: good guy but i i know you disagree with me
- 20:56Speaker 12: on that but i'm gonna let somebody else take it
- 20:58Speaker 12: because you don't have a short time but thanks for
- 21:00Speaker 12: listening buddy i appreciate.
- 21:01Speaker 1: It thank you i just don't think everybody's problems should
- 21:04Speaker 1: be your problems I mean, I listened to your dissertation,
- 21:08Speaker 1: but where is personal responsibility anymore? I mean, I can
- 21:13Speaker 1: appreciate each and everything that you just said to me,
- 21:16Speaker 1: but I don't agree with any of it. And I
- 21:20Speaker 1: don't think it makes America a better place to be
- 21:23Speaker 1: to say, oh, we're going to take from this person
- 21:26Speaker 1: and we're going to give it to this guy over here.
- 21:32Speaker 1: I just don't buy into any of that stuff, that nonsense.
- 21:37Speaker 1: It just doesn't make a lick of sense to me.
- 21:43Speaker 1: But it seems that there are those people who think
- 21:46Speaker 1: that that's the way to go. We shall see. You're
- 21:50Speaker 1: on the air. Did I do that right?
- 21:55Speaker 12: Hello?
- 21:56Speaker 1: Hello?
- 21:58Speaker 9: Hello?
- 22:00Speaker 1: I'll give you one more shot.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Are you there?
- 22:04Speaker 1: All right. Not going to work out. Call back. We're
- 22:12Speaker 1: underway here, NewsRadio 570, WKBN, and Ron Furp, 440 here
- 22:15Speaker 1: with you for about 20 minutes until we go to
- 22:17Speaker 1: the legal show. Comments, 330-729-9977. We'll get you through to
- 22:22Speaker 1: our phone bank, 330-729-9977. If you want to conversate here
- 22:27Speaker 1: this afternoon, I'm deeply disturbed by all of these people
- 22:31Speaker 1: who think democratic socialism is the way to go, that
- 22:34Speaker 1: that seems to be the answer anymore these days. Oh,
- 22:37Speaker 1: what's the answer? The answer is We've got to have
- 22:40Speaker 1: all this socialism and nonsense. Well, I don't see that
- 22:44Speaker 1: as the answer for this kind of stuff. I'm listening
- 22:49Speaker 1: to JJ go through with this craziness, and it just
- 22:55Speaker 1: doesn't make a lick of sense to me. I mean,
- 22:57Speaker 1: if you don't have individual responsibility for people, and where
- 23:02Speaker 1: they have to be accountable for the decisions they make,
- 23:05Speaker 1: and all of a sudden it's everyone else's fault— for
- 23:09Speaker 1: your lot in life but not yours and everyone else
- 23:13Speaker 1: should have to pay for it it doesn't make a
- 23:15Speaker 1: lick of sense to me does it to you i
- 23:20Speaker 1: mean it just doesn't make a a bit of sense
- 23:23Speaker 1: and that's what it seems like guys like that want
- 23:25Speaker 1: to say well i can't help it the life isn't
- 23:28Speaker 1: fair you got to put some effort forth and sometimes
- 23:31Speaker 1: it works out for you and sometimes it doesn't that's
- 23:34Speaker 1: just uh that's the way it goes we've always had
- 23:36Speaker 1: rich we've always had poor and we've always had everybody
- 23:39Speaker 1: in between. So what do you want to do about it?
- 23:42Speaker 1: And it seems that a large part of these people
- 23:45Speaker 1: that are Democrats think that we shouldn't, that shouldn't be
- 23:49Speaker 1: the case, that it should just be equal for this
- 23:53Speaker 1: whole socialism idea. And that party is going in that direction.
- 23:57Speaker 1: And if you go in that direction, just seems to me,
- 24:00Speaker 1: the people who say it never works are making inaccurate statements.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Never seems like it does work, does it? I mean,
- 24:07Speaker 1: just based on What you see going on? Your comments welcome.
- 24:12Speaker 1: You're on air.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Hey, Ron.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Yes.
- 24:17Speaker 11: Okay.
- 24:18Speaker 9: So you had a liberal call in.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Yes.
- 24:22Speaker 9: And he said he's mad about USA not being funded.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Yes.
- 24:28Speaker 9: Well, what about the one Biden gave $ 182 billion to Ukraine? Well,
- 24:36Speaker 9: he wasn't bitching about that, was he? I bitch about that.
- 24:40Speaker 9: I bitch about the money going to USA. I bitch
- 24:42Speaker 9: about the money going to Iran. Just like you always said, Ron,
- 24:47Speaker 9: money's better in your pocket than somebody else's.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Well, it is your money. Let's start with the basic fundamentals, right?
- 24:53Speaker 11: Yeah, exactly.
- 24:54Speaker 1: I mean, whose money is it? It's yours that they're
- 24:57Speaker 1: taking from you. I say it time and time again.
- 25:00Speaker 1: It's the fruits of your labor. And it's your time.
- 25:04Speaker 1: The more government takes from you, the less you have
- 25:07Speaker 1: to enjoy from your earnings. It doesn't make a lick
- 25:12Speaker 1: of sense to me, does it to you?
- 25:14Speaker 9: No, absolutely not. That's why I said, you know, he
- 25:18Speaker 9: just said that, well, I'm upset about USAID and taking
- 25:22Speaker 9: that money away. No, that was my money, too. I'm
- 25:25Speaker 9: upset about, I don't want now that gone. I want
- 25:28Speaker 9: USAID abolished. I want Iranian war abolished. I want Ukraine abolished.
- 25:33Speaker 9: I want the money going in our pockets like you
- 25:35Speaker 9: always tell everybody. And I want these people to quit
- 25:37Speaker 9: voting for these stupid levies that make our tax dollars
- 25:41Speaker 9: go up. People just can't look in the mirror and
- 25:44Speaker 9: see any sense.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Boy, I tell you this much. I'm listening to you,
- 25:49Speaker 1: and you make a hell of a lot of sense
- 25:50Speaker 1: to me for what it's worth.
- 25:53Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 25:54Speaker 9: I mean, you know, it's common sense. And, you know,
- 25:58Speaker 9: somebody says, well, How many degrees do you have? I says, well,
- 26:01Speaker 9: I have 10 degrees. I says, what are they in?
- 26:03Speaker 9: That's just common sense.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Well, sometimes it seems to me it's lacking a lot
- 26:08Speaker 1: anymore these days, right? I mean, I say it often.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Don't make your problems my problems. Your lot in life
- 26:15Speaker 1: isn't necessarily should be my problem. It's at what point
- 26:19Speaker 1: do you take personal responsibility for your own situation? That's
- 26:23Speaker 1: all I'm asking. At what point does that happen?
- 26:27Speaker 9: You're right. You're 100% right, Ronk. What you preach out there,
- 26:30Speaker 9: I don't know why some people don't listen to you,
- 26:32Speaker 9: but they say, well, I don't have money to do this.
- 26:35Speaker 12: Well, quit voting for all the levies.
- 26:37Speaker 9: Quit voting for stuff that you can't afford. Quit spending
- 26:40Speaker 9: money on what you can't afford. And quit electing politicians
- 26:45Speaker 9: that take your money and give your money to somebody else.
- 26:48Speaker 1: Exactly. Exactly. I'm right with you, my friends. You make
- 26:53Speaker 1: a world of sense to me. I appreciate your call.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Thank you. You're on the air.
- 26:56Speaker 9: That's all I have to say.
- 26:57Speaker 13: Thank you.
- 26:58Speaker 1: All right. Thank you. All right. You're on the air. Hello.
- 27:02Speaker 1: All right. You're on the air.
- 27:06Speaker 11: Hello.
- 27:08Speaker 13: Welcome to the Ron Verb lightning round show.
- 27:11Speaker 12: Yes, right.
- 27:12Speaker 13: How about that? Sophie Cunningham, the women's professional basketball leader,
- 27:19Speaker 13: cheering on how she believes that Only women should play
- 27:25Speaker 13: women's sports.
- 27:26Speaker 1: There's a controversial statement. Can you believe that?
- 27:31Speaker 11: I know.
- 27:32Speaker 13: This girl, she's on her game. And she's got a
- 27:37Speaker 13: great personality. She's tall. She plays basketball. She's a good shooter.
- 27:44Speaker 13: And I'm telling you, this girl's hot. And it reminds
- 27:49Speaker 13: me of the day of Anna Kournikova. The tennis star.
- 27:54Speaker 13: They made a calendar of her back in the day.
- 27:57Speaker 13: Anna Kournikova? You remember her?
- 27:59Speaker 12: No.
- 28:01Speaker 13: I think they're going to make a calendar of this
- 28:05Speaker 13: girl in women's basketball.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Really?
- 28:10Speaker 13: I think so. Oh, she's a beautiful girl. You know,
- 28:14Speaker 13: if she gets cleaned up and fix up the hair
- 28:17Speaker 13: and little makeup, little earrings and stuff, nice outfit. This
- 28:23Speaker 13: girl's hot, and she can play. She can play sports.
- 28:27Speaker 13: It's amazing. And she stands up for what's right. She
- 28:32Speaker 13: has common sense, just like the, kind of reminds me
- 28:36Speaker 13: of the Republican Party, common sense.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Does it really?
- 28:41Speaker 12: Yes, yes.
- 28:43Speaker 13: Welcome to the Ron Verve lightning round show.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and this is it? This is the lightning round?
- 28:49Speaker 1: What I'm experiencing?
- 28:50Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 28:51Speaker 13: I didn't take notes today, but, you know, I'm flying
- 28:57Speaker 13: by the seat of my pants here.
- 28:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I'm flying in an airplane.
- 29:02Speaker 1: If this is a lightning round, I'm a little concerned.
- 29:04Speaker 1: I mean, I'm a little bit, I'm deeply disturbed by
- 29:08Speaker 1: this being the lightning rounds.
- 29:12Speaker 13: Well, that's when I get the best chance to get
- 29:16Speaker 13: in here because you're short on time. You've got to
- 29:19Speaker 13: be quick to the point and make your point and
- 29:23Speaker 13: move on. But if no one else is lighting up
- 29:27Speaker 13: your board, I guess we can talk until 5 o'clock
- 29:30Speaker 13: if you want.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Really, it's 4.48. I don't know that I could take
- 29:34Speaker 1: another 12 minutes. Let me just say this to you
- 29:38Speaker 1: because you're a Guardians fan, as well, but what a
- 29:41Speaker 1: shellacking that happened today. I mean, that was just... What
- 29:46Speaker 1: has happened to the Guardians after the All-Star break? I mean,
- 29:49Speaker 1: what has happened?
- 29:52Speaker 13: Everybody has their bad days. Sometimes when I call, I
- 29:57Speaker 13: have a bad call. I have a good call.
- 30:01Speaker 1: That's so rare.
- 30:05Speaker 13: But, yeah, that's sports. But this Sophie Cunningham, I tell you,
- 30:13Speaker 13: she's a superstar. Marie Bartiroma brought her up on her show,
- 30:20Speaker 13: and she loved the idea that she's standing up and
- 30:24Speaker 13: calling out this wokeness and women and men playing on
- 30:31Speaker 13: the same league as a women's sport. And Maria, she
- 30:38Speaker 13: brought out her finger and pointed in the audience just
- 30:42Speaker 13: like that photograph. That is a famous photograph when she
- 30:46Speaker 13: called out that official about not standing up for women
- 30:52Speaker 13: in sports on the basketball court. and she had that
- 30:56Speaker 13: finger pointed in the wrist, in her arm. I tell you,
- 31:02Speaker 13: that picture there is going to be on my calendar someday,
- 31:08Speaker 13: probably in the month of May. That's when I was born.
- 31:12Speaker 1: I don't know. Okay. All right, I can't take it anymore.
- 31:16Speaker 1: There he is from Rock Creek. You're out of here.
- 31:19Speaker 11: So you're for Obamacare, Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, but don't.
- 31:24Speaker 5: Let other people's problems become your problems and you don't
- 31:26Speaker 5: like communism or socialism?
- 31:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know if you know this. I'll tell you.
- 31:31Speaker 1: They're called earned benefits. We're not just handing you Social Security.
- 31:34Speaker 1: You paid into it. You got to work. You got
- 31:36Speaker 1: to work. You got to pay into it. You need
- 31:38Speaker 1: so many quarters. And what you pay into it determines
- 31:41Speaker 1: how much that you get. just as by.
- 31:44Speaker 6: Big government i'm not sure you're aware of the big government.
- 31:47Speaker 1: I'm not sure you're i'm not sure you're aware of
- 31:49Speaker 1: what i'm trying to tell you because you won't listen
- 31:52Speaker 1: uh to what what i'm saying to you it is
- 31:54Speaker 1: an earned benefit if you don't work and pay into
- 31:57Speaker 1: it other than if you're married to someone you don't
- 31:59Speaker 1: get it just like unemployment i'd have two million dollars
- 32:03Speaker 1: in the bank that they're going to give me all
- 32:06Speaker 1: right just like uh If you're unemployment, your employer pays
- 32:11Speaker 1: in unemployment. So if you collect unemployment, it means you
- 32:14Speaker 1: were employed and you had a job. So I don't
- 32:16Speaker 1: have a problem with with unemployment. But the socialism holds
- 32:22Speaker 1: the money.
- 32:23Speaker 2: You're welcome to pay into the socialism.
- 32:26Speaker 1: The socialism that the Democrats are talking about now is
- 32:29Speaker 1: a whole other level.
- 32:31Speaker 11: Guess where it started, Ron. OK, that's where it all starts.
- 32:34Speaker 1: You're on the air. Yes.
- 32:37Speaker 11: Hi, Ron. How you doing?
- 32:38Speaker 1: I'm well.
- 32:39Speaker 11: Let me first say that I'm a registered Republican, but
- 32:43Speaker 11: not for long, and I would never vote for a Democrat.
- 32:48Speaker 11: But I've had it up to here with Trump, and
- 32:51Speaker 11: I've lost all faith in him. And I'm seriously looking
- 32:55Speaker 11: at a third party like Tucker Carlson, hopefully, but I
- 33:02Speaker 11: don't think he would ever do it, or an independent candidate.
- 33:07Speaker 11: It would come out of moderates.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Stand by for me. Right, stand by. I want to
- 33:12Speaker 1: come right back to you. I want to hear him
- 33:14Speaker 1: when we come back after this, so stay tuned. Sip
- 33:20Speaker 1: something special at Springfield ABN. All right, so go ahead
- 33:24Speaker 1: with your discourage from the Trump master.
- 33:28Speaker 11: Yes, very discouraged. I've been around for a while, and
- 33:31Speaker 11: I've watched this country deteriorate in the last 40 years.
- 33:36Speaker 11: From a normal country to something that is bizarro. And
- 33:42Speaker 11: Tucker last night laid out his ten-point plan for America.
- 33:46Speaker 11: And he brought a lot of good points up. And
- 33:49Speaker 11: one of them, I was thinking of the architect that
- 33:51Speaker 11: you had on your show. Yes. He was talking about
- 33:54Speaker 11: how beautiful America used to be. We had architects that
- 33:57Speaker 11: would design and build beautiful buildings. And that appreciation has
- 34:01Speaker 11: gone by the wayside now. Everything is a plain box now. concrete, ugly.
- 34:09Speaker 11: It's just amazing that he hit the nail right on
- 34:12Speaker 11: the head. He even got to the point where he
- 34:15Speaker 11: mentioned the people in Walmart. He said, could you imagine,
- 34:19Speaker 11: you know, 20 years ago, walking into Walmart, looking at
- 34:22Speaker 11: people walking around in their pajamas with rings in their
- 34:26Speaker 11: noses and tattoos? He goes, our country is just going
- 34:30Speaker 11: down the tubes. But getting back to Trump, he's let
- 34:34Speaker 11: me down, and I hope G2 is listening on so
- 34:37Speaker 11: many points. And first and foremost is the war, a
- 34:42Speaker 11: stupid war that we never had to get into. I
- 34:46Speaker 11: know George Bush told us once on the weapons of
- 34:49Speaker 11: mass destruction, and we all bought it. But when Trump
- 34:53Speaker 11: came up with the bomb, the bomb, the bomb, that
- 34:56Speaker 11: was the last straw for me.
- 34:58Speaker 7: I mean..
- 35:00Speaker 11: We're so worse off. We have a $ 1. 5 trillion military budget,
- 35:05Speaker 11: and what do we have to show for it? We're
- 35:07Speaker 11: out of munitions that defend our homeland. And it doesn't
- 35:14Speaker 11: matter if the Democrats or Republicans are in charge. We
- 35:18Speaker 11: get the same end effect. National debt through the roof.
- 35:21Speaker 11: Nothing gets accomplished. The only person that I did like
- 35:27Speaker 11: that Trump had was Tulsi Gabbard. She really accomplished a
- 35:32Speaker 11: lot for the short time that she was in there.
- 35:34Speaker 11: But I think what hurt her, she exposed too many people,
- 35:38Speaker 11: released too many documents that upset Trump. And now he's got,
- 35:44Speaker 11: who do we have in there now? Marlon, the senator
- 35:47Speaker 11: from Oklahoma, who is dialing back on deportations. And working
- 35:54Speaker 11: with the Democrats, I never thought I would see that.
- 35:57Speaker 11: That was one of Trump's big promises was get everybody
- 36:00Speaker 11: out of the country. And now he's gone from Tulsi
- 36:04Speaker 11: Gabbard to ex-Senator Mullen.
- 36:12Speaker 1: In other words, it's Trump's turn, a guy that you
- 36:14Speaker 1: voted for. As a result of this war and the
- 36:17Speaker 1: situation that you see going on now, he's turned you
- 36:21Speaker 1: off to where you're not Trumpsters anymore, if you will.
- 36:26Speaker 1: But that doesn't mean you'll vote for a Democrat either
- 36:29Speaker 1: because you see how far left are this Democrat socialism
- 36:32Speaker 1: that they're going. Accurate statements?
- 36:35Speaker 11: That's accurate. And the Democrats have lost control of their party.
- 36:40Speaker 11: That new DSA wing of the party, the communists. Let's
- 36:43Speaker 11: face it, they're not socialists, democratic socialists. They're communists. And
- 36:50Speaker 11: that nut job they have in Wisconsin, the Korean lady
- 36:53Speaker 11: that's running for governor.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Yes.
- 36:57Speaker 11: If you just look at their platform, how do these
- 37:00Speaker 11: people get elected? And she might well be the next
