Transcript
- 0:12Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait a minute,
- 0:16that's not right. Wrong music we get, we get, Oh,
- 0:25wait a minute, Mark, that was for you. We are on our
- 0:39road today. It's the third hour of the Morning Show with Preston Scott.
- 0:44Good morning, Thanks very much. Mark writes in because he hates our normal
- 0:49opening music, and so he was really happy to hear the Christmas music at
- 0:53the start of each hour. So Grant and I immediately saw the email and
- 0:59said, well, now we only aimed please, we need to respond to
- 1:06this. It's funny. Yeah, it is funny. Jerome Hudson Jerome Hudson
- 1:11with us from Breitbart. He's the entertainment editor author of the Fifty Things books.
- 1:15Hello, my friend, how are you? I'm fantastic. I thought
- 1:19I thought about fifteen years ago when I did my first interview in studio.
- 1:26You asked if I wanted some walk out music. Yeah, but I said,
- 1:30do you remember what I said? What I requested? Dude, I
- 1:34don't remember anything. Grant said yesterday, what are you talking about? I
- 1:40shouldn't put you on a spot like that. No, I don't tell me.
- 1:44No it it was James Brown living in America, oh, I do
- 1:49remember that, and you know, you know, of course why we can't
- 1:52play anything like that anymore. Right, I don't have anything witty to say.
- 1:57Well, I mean, yeah, like licensing and stuff. Well,
- 2:00it's because even though I think about the money, iHeart makes these people.
- 2:07Right, and it's a quick pro quo. It is right. We make
- 2:10we make money playing music. They make money because we play their music.
- 2:15Well, because we podcast this program, we would have to edit every bump
- 2:22out of the show if we played any pop music, any any any recorded
- 2:25songs. So we have to use the stuff that's just production music. That's
- 2:29so unfortunate. Well, I think it's shortsighted on behalf of the artists because
- 2:34we might play a bump and someone goes, you know what, I haven't
- 2:37heard that song in years. I'm gonna go get that thing. But their
- 2:40lawyers, though, are they get real fancy law degrees until someone somewhere crunched
- 2:46the numbers. But it's stupid because we're doing the subliminal messaging for them to
- 2:54go buy that old song. I don't know anyway, No, I love
- 3:01the I love these these What is it is it? The present got morning
- 3:06show bump? It's it's it's got a little rock and roll to it.
- 3:10It's just it's what we use whatever. You know. All I can say
- 3:15is it it annoys some people, and so we just thought we'd be annoying
- 3:17for just another fifteen seconds this morning. Oh man, I do I do
- 3:23miss being in the studio. Of course I was there last month. Yeah,
- 3:28I'm back here looking at a hazy skyline here in downtown Jacksonville. Yeah.
- 3:34The chair you sat in I'm having removed, okay, And and it
- 3:40will only be brought back in when you come back to the studio. You
- 3:45just send it to the Smithsonian alone, well, or the Broadcasting Hall of
- 3:50Fame. Hey tell me this, Yes, and we and we're going to
- 3:55go to break here in just a minute. But what is the one story
- 4:00that most of us are oblivious to? It's not on our radar, but
- 4:05that you are aware of and you think is pretty dog one important. Ooh
- 4:13oh man, it's so such a good it's a good question. I mean,
- 4:18the first as you okay, so as you were laying out that that
- 4:23question, the first story that comes to mind is the report that Lebron James
- 4:29didn't stand up during the singing of the National Anthem at his son Bronnie james
- 4:34usc basketball game debut. That one just really stuck in my craw. But
- 4:41but as you continued the question and I was like, oh, something seismic,
- 4:46something maybe more important. I will say the collapse of the media industry
- 4:54and by extension, the entertainment industry. The amount of job that are being
- 5:00lost because of cost cutting, restructuring, acquisitions is massive. And I don't
- 5:11I you know, it's we're talking about, you know, north of six
- 5:15figured amount of jobs. There have been about almost fifty thousand entertainment jobs lost
- 5:20just this year alone. In media jobs, we're talking about like forty thousand.
- 5:28It's the Preston Show with Morning Scott what twelve minutes past the hour,
- 5:40Jerome Hudson with US Jerome, you were talking about the collapse media entertainment,
- 5:46the loss of jobs and so forth. How much of it, if you
- 5:49pie charted it for me, is self inflicted I e. Disney. How
- 5:56much of it is contraction due to the economy Biden? And how much of
- 6:02it is just automation and streamlining because of AI. If you gave me the
- 6:11pie, I chop it up into probably thirds. And I don't know what
- 6:15i'd do with what is it? What would be left? Zero point nine
- 6:18percent? But yeah, I mean a third of it is out of automation
- 6:24AI. Major studios are buying up artificial intelligence technology companies right so they can
- 6:33they can have the rights to the technology that they want to use to when
- 6:39they fire writers or producers or whatever. You know. We we reported we
- 6:47on the entertainment side of it on yesterday. You know Hasbro, which you
- 6:55hear that name, Maybe the brands don't come to mind immediately that well,
- 7:03you know that is monopoly. You know, that is transformers. So they're
- 7:09they're laying off twenty percent of their workforce and you've got to read fourteen or
- 7:14fifteen paragraphs down, but cost of production is one of the major reasons.
- 7:19And so look, I mean automation is going to dramatically change the landscape of
- 7:27the workforce. You know, I guess just in the same way that any
- 7:32new technology does. You know what, I don't know exactly what happened to
- 7:36horses when the model T arrived. I imagine they appreciated the extended vacations,
- 7:45but you know, jobs were lost, if you will, you know,
- 7:49I just I had an opportunity to host Breitbart News Saturday this past Saturday,
- 7:59but I could not do it. In a rare and a rare situation.
- 8:03I was actually in Cleveland, Ohio to support the Jaguars on Sunday. But
- 8:11when I'm not hosting Preston and I think you may have taught me some sort
- 8:16of habit to do this, I keep yeah, well, well, you
- 8:22know, always be prepared or something. I don't know. Okay, yeah,
- 8:26there is that in season and out, Yeah, go ahead. I
- 8:31keep stories, just a catalog of stories that you know, I feel like
- 8:37are kind of seizemic, super important and may not get all the attention that
- 8:46they need or that they deserve. There's like a through line. I got
- 8:52about thirty of them, this whole notion. And what's really looking like it's
- 8:58impure now that the American dream is just out of reach for maybe the largest
- 9:05amount of Americans ever. It's just, you know, you can't elect Democrats.
- 9:13You shouldn't elect them to anything, okay, but when you elect them
- 9:18to president, when you have what happened in Georgia. For whatever reason my
- 9:24home state, enough people in it decided that giving Democrats the Senate majority was
- 9:31better. Then I can't. Kelly was one of the names of the Republicans
- 9:37running, and then you had the former Purdue that giving Democrats the majority in
- 9:43the Senate was a better idea better strategy. You're wrong. You can't elect
- 9:48Democrats to anything. You certainly shouldn't elect them to high ranking state offices or
- 9:56the Oval Office, because this is what happens. This is what happens.
- 9:58A home, which was the physical embodiment of the American dream, and for
- 10:03good reason, is now unaffordable for a larger number of Americans than ever before.
- 10:11On your phone with the iHeart radio app and on hundreds of devices like
- 10:15Alexa, Google Home, Xbox, and Sonos. This is Chrisler and Iheart's
- 10:18radio station. Joem Hudson, it's a great gift at Christmas time. Get
- 10:30any of the fifty Things books. He's got two of them, Fifty Things
- 10:33they don't want you to know and fifty Things they don't want you to know
- 10:35about Trump. There will hopefully be a third book coming soon. We won't
- 10:41get sidetracked by that. And he's the entertainment editor at Breitbart dot Com.
- 10:45You were talking about, don't ever elect a Democrat to any office anywhere,
- 10:54just don't do it. I mean, I'm not saying that the grand O
- 10:58Party is perfect, no, but oh no, no, members of that
- 11:01party are far less likely to lie to you on a number of issues.
- 11:09Okay, And that, I mean, that really is our problem in America.
- 11:13It's just we have too many people elevated to positions of power that they
- 11:18shouldn't be a planet size near and they got there by lyne and trading their
- 11:26soul and bartering their integrity. And that is why we're having cultural debates about
- 11:35what a woman is. Okay, there is an invasion that is currently happening
- 11:41on our border, and are the the US House majority of Republicans have been
- 11:48trying for weeks just to look if you want to fund the Ukraine War because
- 11:54that country's borders are being invaded. See the irony. Just give us us
- 12:00some concessions, I don't know, so we can secure our own damn border.
- 12:05And and why isn't that happening, you asked, Because Democrats don't give
- 12:09a damn about anything other than self and enriching and winning the next election.
- 12:13Hey, hey, you've done a little too much satellite radio, buddy.
- 12:20Oh I'm sorry. Wow, Family Show real family shop. Dial it,
- 12:24dial it back a little bit, just looking at it. Okay, go
- 12:26ahead. You know, President and I were talking off the air about,
- 12:35uh, you know, how our economy and I don't know if it's a
- 12:37third of the economy is being shifted, but we're spending tuned to the hundreds
- 12:43of billions of dollars on green energy and technology. You know, Democrats don't
- 12:48care about saving the planet. They don't even care whether or not it is
- 12:54a relevant question if the planet needs saving at all. Congress provided and I
- 13:00have billion dollars for electric vehicle charges built so far. Zero. Okay.
- 13:07That is what happens when you elect Democrats. Okay, those are the people
- 13:11who want to hire almost one hundred thousand more IRS auditors. Why because they
- 13:18spend our money so responsibly and they got to fund their habit. They got
- 13:22to fund their habit. They just need more of it. Stop electing these
- 13:26people. What is your home? E? Hudson, don't ask me what
- 13:31the E stands for? Wants for Christmas? I want you people to realize
- 13:35or the people out there listening, or who may be listening, and who
- 13:39may be listening, and know people who haven't realized that we're being fleeced and
- 13:45we don't have to be. We don't deserve this. We do deserve better.
- 13:50It is what our guard fearing forefathers wanted for us. You know,
- 13:54we we we fought for freedom for a long time, and I mean we
- 14:01you know, you know, Republicans had to beat Democrats to free the slaves,
- 14:05and then they had to fight the Democrats in Congress and in the White
- 14:09House and in state houses for a hundred years because that party wanted to keep
- 14:13people with milk chocolate skin like mine on a virtual plantation after they were forced
- 14:18to release us from an actual plantation. It's always the same problem. And
- 14:24again, Republicans aren't perfect, but you're far more likely to be reading the
- 14:28headlines that we're reading if we just stop electing Democrats. Put it, put
- 14:37it in a box, wrap it up some paper, and put a bow
- 14:39on it. Okay next November, folks, Okay, because we're going to
- 14:45continue to see some pretty bad headlines. That's why you just got to pray
- 14:48and enjoy your family and count your blessings. But we can stop this crazy
- 14:52tide. Okay, Oh yeah, you can tell I have it on radio
- 15:05hosting or anything. For a while. I don't need to say another word
- 15:09other than Merry Christmas, my friend. Yeah, I love you, have
- 15:13a great view, have a great Christmas season, Grant, I'll be I'll
- 15:16be looking for your missive. God bless you all. God, bless your
- 15:22family, go, bless your audience. In that city that I loved and
- 15:24lived in for twelve years. You're gonna be seeing Grant's wife. No,
- 15:28I said missive. Oh I thought you said you're missus. I'm sorry,
- 15:33got you all right, very good, Merry Christmas. Stress. Yeah,
- 15:37Marry, I'm just being a jerk. Talk to you, Sue, Buddy,
- 15:43All all right, Jerome Hudson with us. That was epically fun.
- 15:50And that's what we do here at the Morning Show with Preston Scott M.
