Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_04]: Do you remember the first time you heard the word millionaire?
- 0:03[SPEAKER_04]: Like, maybe you were younger, you were a kid, and it was like, whoa.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_04]: And then from that point on, you were probably just like, what does it take to become a millionaire?
- 0:14[SPEAKER_04]: And in this video, I'm going to be sharing some of my biggest takeaways from my first
- 0:19[SPEAKER_04]: a million dollar a year and in all honesty within the last year we did over two million dollars in revenue and if we've never met my name is Omar Altacorei this is the department podcast with my co-host art dot mp four let's go we're back so i just celebrated my birthday we can have a go and i turn thirty four and at age thirty three after launching my coaching consulting business
- 0:48[SPEAKER_04]: In our second year, really within our second year, we did multiple seven figures, which is incredible.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_04]: And something I don't want this podcast or conversation to be is mindset stuff, which by the way, mindset's very important.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_04]: This is going to be very practical.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_04]: I've categorized the biggest lessons and takeaways from my first million dollar year.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_04]: So this is kind of selfish.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_04]: This is kind of like a diary.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_04]: And if you have any questions or anything, put it in the comments and be sure to hit subscribe because a lot of people watch this podcast and they don't subscribe, which is totally fine.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_04]: By the way, Terry, it's free to subscribe.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, the first lesson that I got from making my first million was accepting a cost to it.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_04]: accepting a cost.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_04]: When I accepted the fact that it's going to cost me something to get there, it's just made things flow more.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_04]: I think there in some way, shape or form, there was a part of, there was a part of me that thought you could get to the million all by myself.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_04]: Keeping as much profit as possible, doing all the work, spending as little as possible, spending as little as possible.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_04]: It was like, it was like a trapped mindset when like the literally the reason why you're probably stuck is because you think that way.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_04]: You need to take, well, not even take anything right now.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_04]: You just need to accept the fact that if you want to see an outcome, you're going to have to pay your way there.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_04]: Now I'll help you self internalize and interpret what that means for you in the season you're in, but for me it was like literally whatever it takes.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_04]: That was kind of like my thought.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_04]: Whatever it takes, because the reality is, if I made a million, this was literally a thought I had, if I made a million, but I only took home a hundred.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_04]: That'd be a cool lesson.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_04]: I would have spent nine hundred grand a make a hundred thousand dollars.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_04]: Now I'm glad that's not the case.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_04]: But but but fill in the blank.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_04]: Would you you have to see it like a trade.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_04]: I wrote it down.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_04]: I was like create a trade in your mind.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_04]: So my question to you, art is, would you trade?
- 3:25[SPEAKER_04]: seven hundred thousand dollars, or I'm sorry, I'm gonna reverse that.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_04]: Would you trade three hundred thousand dollars for seven hundred thousand dollars?
- 3:35[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_04]: How often would you make that trade?
- 3:38[SPEAKER_02]: As much as like, okay.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_04]: So then when something presents itself, that's going to help you get the seven hundred, don't hold back the three hundred.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_04]: Got it.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_04]: So like, I'm pointing at my mind and I don't want this to be mine today.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_04]: But it is, it is a thought.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_04]: And a very practical thought is see your business and the growth of your business as a trade.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's a trade.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_02]: I think hindsight, it's easy to see it that way and say it like that.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_02]: Is why we're making this podcast?
- 4:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_02]: But for being in it, it doesn't feel that way.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: It's like a risk.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it feels like you're releasing.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm going to give this three hundred k but I don't know if the seven hundred's going to come back.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, and I know that's like I gave a big picture.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but really what it looks like is it looks like buying the pro version of zoom.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_04]: It's that simple or it's paying for the royalty free music.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_04]: Or it's buying the go high level or click funnels account to run your website on.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_04]: It's the cost of business.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_04]: Sure.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_04]: There's no such thing.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_04]: as a business that doesn't have a cost.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, department fan, question for you.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_04]: Based on you listening to this podcast, you probably are either looking to grow your personal brand this year, build your audience online and just stop chasing business and start to have a business chasing you.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_04]: If that's you, I want to invite you to the content to cash.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_04]: challenge.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_04]: This is a five day coaching experience, a live coaching experience with myself that's done all on Zoom and you get access to a private community and it really is unlike any other experience that I offer.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_04]: By the end of the challenge, you'll have unreal clarity on what you're supposed to do online and you'll have the insight on how you can make an extra six or even seven figures.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, I said seven figures in your business.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_04]: this year.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_04]: And if any of those things sound great to you, I want you to join the next content to cast challenge.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_04]: Scan the QR code if you're watching on a television or click the link in the description.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_04]: Once you go through it, go ahead and upgrade to VIP because you'll get an extra hour of bonus VIP Q&A with me every single day of the challenge.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_04]: And so looking forward to seeing you there.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_04]: Let's get back into the combo.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so practically what were those costs that you had to fork over.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I mean, as an studio.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, I mean equipment.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_04]: I wrote down three things.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_04]: Team contractors and coaching.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so the team part was.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_04]: And my mind I was like, man, I keep hearing this, you know, shout out to Dan Martell, like this this concept that you could pay somebody to do more than you can and if somebody could do it at like sixty or seventy percent.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_04]: Let them do it and just pay them to do it.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, bye back here time.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it was it was very.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_04]: testing of me, which is why I love business.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_04]: By the way, I love business because it's such a self-discovery process.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_04]: You realize where your limits are, where you have a thought that isn't that's keeping you stuck.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_04]: So for me, the most I ever made as a W-II employee was like, thirty three thousand dollars.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_04]: I was in full-time ministry.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_04]: So to pay somebody, sixty thousand dollars was a crazy concept.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_04]: Like to work for me.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_04]: So then on top of it, you're like, well, I don't need to tell myself to do a full-time amount of work because they're like, how do I get this person to use up there and even that's even bad thinking.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_04]: But the whole premise is get another human being in here and let them apply themselves to take the business.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_04]: to wherever it can go.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_04]: The reality is you realize that whatever you do, you're doing at such a small level if you're doing it all.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, that's what like Roy Vaden says diluted focus produces diluted results.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_04]: Well, it is because it's split, which is why if you're working a W to job right now and you're side hustling something that you want to one day give you the
- 7:59[SPEAKER_04]: full time freedom to run and operate.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_04]: The crazy thing is they say they say, I don't know who says they Ramsey, let's just give him the credit, but they say like don't quit your W to job until your side hustle is like doubling it.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_04]: But the crazy thing is the energy, the mental emotional and physical energy you're giving your side hustle.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_04]: My thing on many times is imagine it if you had all the hours in the day and you didn't have to divide your mind into the thing the place you work, you know.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_04]: yeah now understanding seasons please understand seasons that you're in like you might be in a season that's giving you the resource and the the environment to learn like one of the reasons
- 8:52[SPEAKER_04]: Like one of the reasons I attribute the fastest, but the reason why I felt like I got to a seven figure business quickly was because of how long I built other people's stuff.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_04]: I talked about this all the time.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_04]: Like I gave my twenties away.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_04]: I gave my twenties away to other organizations to building and helping build other people's empires with an owner's mentality.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_04]: Like it wasn't like I'm here and then I'm leaving.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_04]: No, I actually owned it.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_04]: So then when I, when I stepped into my own thing, it was, it was a smoother transition.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_04]: You know, because I had the owner's mentality for years, for decade, I thought like an owner.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_04]: But when I talk about the cost, I'm just thinking about hired help.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_04]: It's like, it's the coolest thing.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_04]: Like, not thinking about it.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_04]: But hiring somebody and seeing what they're doing without you having either tell them or just what's happening as a result of them being there.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_04]: And if you're somebody who actually wants to keep like all the money in your business to yourself, that's like mad greedy.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_04]: Like, how cool would it be?
- 10:04[SPEAKER_04]: If you got family, close friends to work with you, impact people, change people's lives, do awesome stuff, eat good meals, go on fun trips, and like, have a blast doing, I don't know, like, when you really start to think of it, it's like, when I was doing solo entrepreneurship, which was, for like, twenty sixteen, I was doing like contract work, and it was just me.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_04]: And then I brought on like, you know, you were helping me with some edits back in the day.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_04]: which was helpful, but it wasn't like real.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_04]: But just now, if you're stuck at a couple hundred grand, it's literally a higher you need to make.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_04]: That's literally it.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_04]: Make a higher.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_04]: And some people will argue make a higher from like the top down, like higher an executive position.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_04]: Other people will say, no, like higher up like an assistant.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_04]: Somebody who can just take away some of the tasks that don't let you focus in on your gift and genius.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_04]: And it just frees you up a little bit.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_04]: And I realize like, you know, I'm best at coaching, I'm best at selling, I'm best at teaching, I'm best at creating.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_04]: So like, so like, yeah, like, if I could stay there, the better, because the business is simply a reflection of your brain, or a reflection of who's brain is involved.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_04]: But really, the CEO,
- 11:30[SPEAKER_04]: that's why they say like you're the limit because based on what you know is why there's ceilings you know so and like hindsight again it's easy to say but do you I mean you had a you had a battle with it for a while like hiring the help I mean it took you a second it did and even finding a person that I was like okay to like
- 11:52[SPEAKER_02]: Like you trusted.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_02]: I trusted.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_04]: It could be around when my kids are around.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_04]: A alignment with values.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_04]: Someone who carries himself well and somebody who knows something I don't.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_04]: So like shout out to Mary Ella.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_04]: She's a corrections officer now.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_04]: But when she came in, she found ten thousand dollars.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_04]: Just an interview.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_02]: First one.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, Omar, just notice.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_04]: There's some like payments that haven't been caught up in the bottle of all.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_04]: I'm like,
- 12:21[SPEAKER_04]: That's crazy.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_04]: Now, here's the cheat code from a perspective standpoint when it comes to the cost of something is when I say like hire somebody at fifty, sixty or whatever you feel like right to do and obviously there's virtual assistance where you can build a business literally on virtual assistance, what you could build at whatever way you want.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_04]: It's your business.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_04]: It's a beautiful thing about business.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_04]: Let your business serve you at the highest level so that you could serve your clients at the highest level.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_04]: But hang someone's sixty k doesn't necessarily mean you're forking over sixty k yeah because sixty divided by twelve is five so like so so just so you know you can't think of it like that way you have to say like okay monthly
- 13:10[SPEAKER_04]: Like the costs to have this person all in here, which is something I love is just like I just want your mind like give me your mind and and creativity and problem solving abilities and let's go, but you actually get the benefit because you're not paying somebody all upfront, which is which is just something cool.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, if you could give it one thing, what would it be as far as like you, that like switch or what?
- 13:38[SPEAKER_02]: Of like you, like gone over it.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_02]: And you said, okay, it was just higher.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_04]: It was like, okay, yeah, yeah, it's gonna be a sixty case allergy.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_04]: It would maybe some bonuses in there, but it's not sixty K out of the bank.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_02]: So that's like, like, pull you over.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_04]: That's what it's like.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_04]: It's really a five thousand dollar decision.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, you know, um, got it.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_04]: And then if it doesn't work out,
- 14:01[SPEAKER_04]: Number one, how much lessons would we both have learned here, which in many cases it hasn't because before Mary Ella was Abby and I learned a lot, you know, and shout out to you just because you were just you've just been around.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_04]: What are you gonna do?
- 14:18[SPEAKER_04]: It's trying to like, I heal like here.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_04]: All right, there you go.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_04]: Nope, but like,
- 14:24[SPEAKER_04]: you just learn so then so then you're out ten fifteen k let's just say yeah and you gave it a shot so technically like you didn't lose and you learn a ton about yourself you learn just pay fifteen k to learn learn the cost of business that caught yeah
- 14:43[SPEAKER_04]: Hopefully this person did stuff while they were here.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_04]: Hopefully this person set up the next person, you know, all that stuff.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_04]: Now, the other thing that was super helpful, and I think accelerated things was paying contractors, like just paying people to do certain things that you don't necessarily have to hire out.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you don't need full time.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, we brought on a, like a marketing,
- 15:11[SPEAKER_04]: What would you call it?
- 15:12[SPEAKER_04]: I would call them a a a fractional marketing company.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, so like so even though it was just like me Amanda art Mary Ella now Sophie
- 15:28[SPEAKER_04]: having this wing, it's almost like we had, we had access like eat people because of them being able to handle stuff.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_04]: And again, just paying the cost.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_02]: So even like the workshops that you put on, we hire a contractor that is a video guy and he takes a lot of the work off our plate.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_02]: Those two days in that workshop, that's helpful.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_04]: But just know, like, you could pay for help so that you could focus on what you're good at and focus on what why your business is different or what makes your business different.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_04]: And then the next thing as far as Costco is coaching in mentorship.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_04]: Like, I believe in business, there is no tricks, there is no hacks.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to say there are no shortcuts because coaching is a shortcut.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_04]: Now, it coaching does not replace doing the work, but if you're doing the work, please get a coach because they can accelerate your results based on things you can't see because your tunnel vision.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, we're doing the work.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_04]: We're tunnel vision and then isn't till somebody comes in.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, now we're working with a new contractor for emails and funnels and automations and stuff.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_04]: Shout it to Renee.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_04]: And he's seeing stuff that we didn't even see.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_02]: And he's fixing stuff that we didn't even see.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's cool to think, I mean, in terms of cost of business, I think you're almost at two hundred K and investing into yourself at this point when it comes to like,
- 17:05[SPEAKER_02]: Voices.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, my coach is in the line.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_04]: Blunt past.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_02]: Which is like the cost.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_02]: Just wild.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_04]: So when I say the cost, I mean like do I mean like you need to go below?
- 17:17[SPEAKER_04]: I say below, but like invest a gazillion dollars.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_04]: No unless you feel like you're ready for that or this is your time.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_04]: I think I think something you need to consider is like.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_04]: Like you have to become a different person.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_04]: You're obviously in the place you're in because of the person you are.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_04]: And if you want to get to a different place, it's going to require to be for you to be a different person.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_04]: It's just that.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_04]: It's a transformation that needs to take place.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_04]: And I would even say,
- 17:53[SPEAKER_04]: Some people have noticed a transformation in me.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_04]: Many of you guys that listen or watch this podcast have seen a transformation.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_04]: My closest friends and church family, they have seen a transformation.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not the same person.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_04]: But doesn't mean I've like cut off people and like you know you're you're down here like at all it is just that started thinking differently because I got around people who thought way bigger than me that started making me feel uncomfortable.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_04]: And then you start realizing like oh my gosh that was just my baggage you know.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_04]: So those are just accepting the costs.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_04]: Any other thoughts?
- 18:36[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_04]: So you got to if you want to become a millionaire, you need to accept the costs it's going to take to become one, add spend.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_04]: paying team, coaching, contractors, reinvesting back into your business, and just think of it like a trade.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_04]: That's like the best thing I could tell you is think of it.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_04]: Will you trade and come up with that number?
- 19:03[SPEAKER_04]: Because it's helpful.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_04]: If you do think like that, dude, I'm willing to spend three, fifty to make seven hundred, because that's literally business.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_04]: Business is I'm going to put money in this machine and then it's going to bring me back more money.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_04]: That's that is literally what business is.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_04]: And if you don't think it's that then.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_04]: You have too much passion and artsy, fartsy and creating.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_04]: And I don't know, you're just like, you're too invested from an artistry standpoint as opposed to like a straight up business marketplace, the trade.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_04]: The second thing we're talking about, the three things that helped me practically, not just in a not mindset,
- 19:54[SPEAKER_04]: is developing the skills, developing the skills.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_02]: Developing the skills.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_04]: Developing the skills.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_04]: When I think about the word I was talking about, the transformation that needs to take place, the transformation that took place, it was a transformation of skills.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_04]: It was an ability that I did not have and then abilities that I now possess.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_04]: So when I think about the three most important ones,
- 20:24[SPEAKER_04]: And I want you to identify which ones there are, but it'll be really hard to find somebody doing really well in business who doesn't understand sales.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_04]: Sales.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_04]: Like sales is so powerful.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_04]: We have a podcast on it.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to go so deep into it.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_04]: But I didn't know how to sell.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_04]: So I have these stories that I don't tell as often as people say I should tell.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_04]: So you're going to get my failure stories.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_04]: You ready for it?
- 20:53[SPEAKER_04]: People don't realize.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_04]: that my first course that I created, I sold zero, zero.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_04]: People don't realize my first two web classes I've ever done.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_04]: I sold zero.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_04]: People don't know that when it came to the price and saying the price of what it is I offered based on what they needed,
- 21:24[SPEAKER_04]: I couldn't say it.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you would cow or like a little kid.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_04]: I guess you could.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_04]: No, but I would, I would just be like, you know, I'll get back to you.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_04]: And then or I would, I'd be like, you would actually have like moments of anxiety.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I'd be like, so how much do you think?
- 21:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_04]: I'm as you think and I broke this down on another podcast, but I don't want to go too deep into it, but just know that like learning sales.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my goodness, it'll open up your mind because there's no way to make a million without selling something.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_04]: And even if you have a sales team, you should be able
- 22:12[SPEAKER_04]: to still be the lead sales person.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_04]: Because you should believe in what you're selling.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_04]: And if you don't, you might be a scam artist.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_02]: And technically everything you do is selling.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_04]: I believe that.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_04]: I believe you're always selling.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_04]: You're either just really good or you're terrible.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_04]: I asked somebody in the program we had a call last week and shout out to her.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_04]: I was like, on a scale of one to ten, how would you say you are when it comes to sales?
- 22:41[SPEAKER_04]: She was like,
- 22:44[SPEAKER_04]: probably five.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_04]: And then as we get to talking, I was like, it's more like a two.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_04]: It's more like a one based on our conversation.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_04]: It's very clear that you can't persuade people to go to the next step with you, which comes down to one skill, really.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_04]: And even beyond that, one way that I was able to accelerate things is
- 23:13[SPEAKER_04]: learning how to sell one to many.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_04]: So learning that every time I would speak, every time I would teach every time I would sell, it wasn't in a one to one environment, which it could be for you, which is totally fine.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_04]: I actually think most people starting out should sell one to one because you're going to learn.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_04]: You're going to get language from the people that you're having conversations with to see if you could even help them.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_04]: And if you can't, don't sell them.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_04]: But selling one to many is its own skill.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_04]: It's learning how to speak in assumed generalities.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_04]: And it's also learning how to speak to assumed beliefs and then shift those beliefs.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_04]: So I don't want to get into it.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_04]: But that's why if you hate mindset content, you probably suck at sales.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_04]: He said it.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_04]: If you don't like it, when people start talking about mindset, you're probably not good at selling.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_04]: You're probably not good.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_04]: You're probably actually still struggling.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_04]: For the very reason why you don't like mindset because you're, and I don't mean to be like super clever, but your, your mind is set on not wanting mindset.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_04]: So we had a comment.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_04]: on the Dan Martell podcast, which is like, when a multiple nine, or what's a ten, like, I don't know, multiple eight figure exits or nine make figure exit.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_04]: You know what you do and somebody like that talks, you shut up.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_04]: So, I let him interpret the answers based on my questions and somebody commented, man, this is all just mindset.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_04]: How's it going?
- 25:05[SPEAKER_04]: How are you doing in your business?
- 25:08[SPEAKER_04]: Still struggling?
- 25:09[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, then.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_04]: It's because you don't like mindset and you're stuck.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_04]: Literally, you are stuck.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_04]: Now, this podcast is not mindset, even though it might be influencing the way you think, which would be beautiful.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_04]: But learning how to sell one of many, which I don't want to get too deep into this, but getting good as a communicator.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, this is the big one.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_04]: This is big.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_04]: You want to warn Buffett says if you want to add
- 25:37[SPEAKER_04]: fifty percent of value.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_04]: With one skill.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_04]: It's the ability to communicate.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_02]: If not the main one in today's society or everything is online on video, you can't communicate.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_02]: Then what else do you have?
- 25:51[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's communicate and I mean, but that's why.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, you could be an entertainer.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_04]: But even entertainers are communicators.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_04]: They have an ability to connect.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_04]: That's like the number one goal with communication is to be able to connect and you can't connect unless you don't unless you know who you're talking to.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_04]: You don't know who you're talking to unless you've talked to people.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_04]: Saying bro, it sounds like you develop the skills, bro.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, kind of.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, so I kid like as I'm talking, I'm speaking to a you like I'm speaking to like a you, right?
- 26:24[SPEAKER_04]: So like
- 26:27[SPEAKER_04]: It influences my ability to communicate.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_04]: Now, you can't get, you cannot get good at speaking, whether it's public virtually or one on one without the awareness that you need to pay attention to the art form.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_04]: So like, okay, no one, no one is an accidental, incredible communicator.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_04]: That's my belief.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_04]: I think everyone who's great at communicating, watched it, picked up on things, tested, saw what worked, kept what was working, tried new things, and then just over time became great at communicating.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_04]: You know, something I mentioned in today's coach call, which I'm glad it came up right now, is
- 27:22[SPEAKER_04]: If you're new to communicating, whether that's talking in front of people, teaching in front of people, or doing it virtually in the form of web class, Zoom calls, or even content creation, YouTube and stuff, if you're new to it, there's a high likelihood that you are prioritizing the content of what you're teaching.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_04]: as opposed to prioritizing the connection with what you're teaching.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_04]: And the way you connect better is by telling stories, sharing real life examples, painting pictures, using illustrations.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_04]: And so this last weekend, I preached a couple of weekends or a couple of services.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_04]: And I told a friend of mine, I said, hey, I was a game.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_04]: Like I literally, because after the first time I preached the sermon, I was like, there was so much content I left out, which is fine.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_04]: Like it's better to be over-prepared than under-prepared.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_04]: But Nadia, my friend was like, I don't know how and she was talking about me and Jay, her husband.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know how you guys have so much to say.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_04]: This is like a funny, like, interesting thought because her and Amanda are teaching a class, a course at our church in the middle of the week.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm sure they feel like they run out of things to say.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_04]: They run out of things to say, but they have so much content, like all heady, insight that they're like, they're getting from places.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_04]: And when you realize the number one goal of communication is to connect, you'll pause and you'll say, do I need this?
- 29:17[SPEAKER_04]: Is this going to actually help them?
- 29:20[SPEAKER_04]: Do I have an example of this in my own life?
- 29:23[SPEAKER_04]: Do I know somebody that's journey through this?
- 29:27[SPEAKER_04]: By the grace of God, it's cool that I have so many, now I have so many places where I can show up and talk, which helps, like I realize that I'm a speaker who then writes, John Maxwell is saying that there's writers who then speak.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_04]: We were talking about it with Dan Martell.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_04]: And I was like, yeah, that's kind of me.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_04]: Because I'll just, I just need a few.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_04]: Actually,
- 29:53[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I don't even know you could see this.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_04]: If you could see it, maybe art, you could just zoom in.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_04]: You could search the word zoom on the transcription, but like this is my notes for this podcast.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_04]: We're just about halfway.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe I'm going to zip through.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_04]: I want to honor your time.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_02]: Just screenshot it and I'll put it up.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, there you go.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_04]: Big easy.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_04]: How?
- 30:14[SPEAKER_04]: Like how am I?
- 30:15[SPEAKER_04]: It's just because I realize that the more you focus on leveling up in skills, you're gonna put yourself in a category that not many people are in.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_04]: And so you get the benefit of just sharing an overflow.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_04]: And I actually think nobody wants my deep cuts.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_04]: Nobody wants nobody wants my own personal deep cuts.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_04]: If I even got you there, I lose you.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_04]: One thousand.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_04]: When did I come up with this podcast?
- 30:50[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_02]: You've been thinking about it for like the past couple months.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_04]: No dude, it's literally ten minutes ago.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_04]: Ten minutes before we hit record, I jotted these things down.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_04]: Now, I don't say that to brag.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_04]: I just say that because it's in me.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_02]: And not that you don't care either.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_04]: And not that I don't care.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, this is, you could feel my care in my tonality.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_02]: but you know what that reminds me of is a thing that used to say a lot when I was younger is it's not about being right it's about being effective and I think a lot of people are always thinking about oh what is the right thing I need to say or what's the right thing I need to teach but it's like no you should take a step back and be like will this be effective though is it gonna connect with the person I'm trying to connect with yeah is it gonna help like yeah will they leave and be like that was helpful yes
- 31:41[SPEAKER_04]: And a lot of this internal dialogue I actually have has made me a very, I guess, I mean, I love it.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_04]: I love when people say like, Omar, you just make it so simple.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_04]: Omar, you make it so practical.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_04]: Omar, you make it so applicable.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's because
- 32:02[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, maybe it's like, maybe if part of it is like a gift, but another part is just like, what other way is there to do it to confuse you more?
- 32:10[SPEAKER_04]: Like what would be the point then?
- 32:13[SPEAKER_04]: And so yes, an obsession for you to actually connect with.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_04]: what we are actually teaching on the podcast whenever we do these like I like to come solo episodes when they're not there's not a guest.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I mean, I want to make sure you're getting the help and you're getting the insight and then the last skill that I think is a skill that literally will print you money and it's the skill of offer creation.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_04]: When you realize that you could use your words and exchange your words for people's money, oh my goodness, it's like you've broken the cheat code to making money.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_04]: It is the infinite money glitch.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_04]: The infinite money glitch is the ability to realize that people will pay for something based on somebody's words.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_04]: So if you bought it to get to the challenge, you didn't buy it to get to the challenge for any other reason other than I told you who it was for.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_04]: Like invisible.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_04]: Like now, you could buy it to get to the challenge and it could never happen.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_04]: And I could run away with the money.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_04]: But that's not obviously that's not the case.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_04]: But I could, and that just that shows that proves the principle of people by what you say, not what necessarily the thing you sell, right?
- 33:37[SPEAKER_04]: So when I say offer creation, it's this ability to articulate what a person needs or wants, understanding when the offer is given, creating a sense of urgency and scarcity that you invent from thin air,
- 33:58[SPEAKER_04]: So to, right, does me, right?
- 34:02[SPEAKER_04]: And then also the ability to show them what could be from taking this step.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_04]: And this works with everything and anything, doesn't matter.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_04]: If you're in real estate, creating an offer around preparing yourself to buy your first home.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_04]: I remember when I bought my first home, I had no idea that five years from that moment that I'd have a hundred thousand dollars sent to my bank account.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_04]: I still worked, I still made money, I still got to enjoy life, and then just out of nowhere.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_04]: A hundred thousand dollars, it's my bank account.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_04]: That could be you.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_04]: I'm doing this first time home by all, did, I'm in.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_04]: But creating offers is powerful because as time moves on, people talk differently, people want different things and something that people would not have paid for in the past was personal brand coaching.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_04]: That wasn't something that necessary.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_04]: Like you were like, I want to grow on YouTube.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_04]: I want more followers on this platform.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_04]: I want
- 35:14[SPEAKER_04]: I make money online.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm sure it's going to evolve.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_02]: And it's going to evolve.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_02]: But like that skill that you just talked about is wrapped in like the cost of business.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's a cost of coaching or yeah, having a. Yeah, I think.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, like, how do you get good at a skill?
- 35:31[SPEAKER_04]: You're not good at is you become aware that you're not good.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_04]: This is why if you're not self aware, you'll stay wherever you're at.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_04]: Be self aware, take accountability, humble yourself, and become a student, and realize that there's no finish line.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_04]: It's like it's a forever discovery.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_04]: forever.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_04]: And the second you stop investing in your skills is the second you plateau.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_04]: So like, yeah, no, all these skills that I am talking about came as a result of paying for an environment where not only would the person who's teaching it, do it at a masterful place, but it was also paying, so I would pay attention.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_04]: So here's what's crazy.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_04]: Here's what happens when you invest in coaching.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_04]: When you invest in coaching, let's just say, I don't give me a skill or something you want, ruler.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, sales.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_04]: So let's say you join, you join somebody's program and you invest an amount that gets your gut kind of like uneasy and you invest in this program.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_04]: Not only are you going to pay attention to the content in this program, but when you watch other content on YouTube, you're going to consume it from way more
- 37:00[SPEAKER_04]: LinkedIn state, like you're really going to be paying attention.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_04]: So like this is the same as skills or it is the same as taxes.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_04]: Like because it cost me so much money to realize I don't have to pay the tax bill that everyone says I need to pay.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_04]: You can actually do things with your money so you can offset your taxes.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_04]: Because of that cost, hurt, kind of like put a whole void in my pocket, I then started listening differently.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_04]: Listening differently to my CPA, listening differently to my other, my friends who do the same stuff, listening differently to actually like shorts and reels, short from content.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_04]: I'm like, I get so much out of it because I paid to pay attention.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_04]: So, yes, it came as a result.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_04]: The third thing, so we said, accepting the cost of making the million, developing the skills required to make a million.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_04]: And then the last thing is building the brand, building the brand.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_04]: Building the brand.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_04]: Now, I don't even like the word building, because it sounds like work.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_04]: But it made it very easy to make a million dollars.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_04]: multiple million dollars.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_04]: Because I had a brand and because I'm constantly building my brand.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_04]: Something that Myron said that is just brilliant is you never want to out market and sell faster than how much you're building brand.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_04]: you want you want your brand to be being built and this is how you want to sell.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_04]: This is how you create an over-subscribed business model as Daniel Presley would say where you decide when the door is open.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_04]: You decide when you want more clients.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_04]: You decide how much you want to charge.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_04]: You decide that all comes by having
- 39:02[SPEAKER_04]: brand, which is just a simply put, it's creating a demand within people, and then if you sell a limited supply of anything, then not only can the price be higher, but you can limit and then create urgency and create scarcity.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_04]: So, how did I build my brand?
- 39:25[SPEAKER_04]: I built my brand from what I prescribed is my personal content to cash calendar.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_04]: My content to cash calendar and it all is predicated on focusing on long form video.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_04]: In other words, YouTube.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_04]: Hello.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_04]: You might be listening to this, but you're just listening to the audio from a long video.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_04]: So I prioritize my long form content one upload a week.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_04]: Rain or shine.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_04]: Doesn't matter what's going on.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_04]: We're going to do our best and more than our best to show up once a week with a highly super high valuable piece of content.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_04]: Then we take that long from piece of content and we create smaller pieces of content, short form pieces of content.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_04]: I don't really post carousels, but we should we could and should be posting carousels, we could be posting carousels, we're uploading on TikTok, but the only thing I'm concerned with is with this.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_04]: Going up on long form.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_04]: What's also cool is, because we're getting audio, because we're showing up daily on Instagram and TikTok, we also get the benefit of rewriting this, all these clips being made into email copy.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_04]: Then now, we have a valuable email that goes out to your inbox and if you want to sign up, link in the description.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_04]: If you sign up, make sure you go into your spam folder if it goes in spam and then move it over, that'd be really cool.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_04]: But the distribution, so I built the brand and when I say building the brand, the reason why is because everything in life
- 41:26[SPEAKER_04]: No matter what relationships, client, spouse, or friend, everything becomes easier when there is trust.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_04]: So, in my opinion, YouTube is the greatest platform to build trust on automation at scale.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_04]: That's just the way it works.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_04]: Time.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_04]: Would you spend so much time together?
- 41:56[SPEAKER_04]: You know what I'm saying?
- 41:58[SPEAKER_04]: So the distribution, though, is like now we have AI that can really help with this and help you be omnipresent online where people just see you.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_04]: People just do it.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_04]: You want people to come up to me like, dude, I'm seeing your stuff everywhere, man.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_04]: Every time I pull my phone, it's you, you know, that's, that's, it's not only powerful, but you have to realize for people to have that effect when we were younger.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_04]: You had to pay a lot of money for it.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_04]: Number one, you had to shoot a commercial.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_04]: Number two, you had to pay for the airtime on the commercial.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_04]: And then
- 42:37[SPEAKER_04]: And that's how you did it now now there is no barrier of entry it's just like it's just you showing up and.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you don't want to.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_04]: You don't want to not build a brand.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_04]: It's so much easier to work with people who have a name and face to their brand than for people to buy from a brand.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_04]: So like, arts wearing a hat says the video department.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_04]: That's the business.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_04]: That's the company.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_04]: The video department LLC.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_04]: But when you see Omar's face, you think video department.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_04]: When you see video department, you think Omar's face.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe even art's face.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_04]: And I'll do art's face.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_04]: Art also just recently had a birthday.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_04]: He turned twenty three.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_04]: Twenty three.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_04]: Which that was just the bomb drop because everybody's like, wait, what?
- 43:30[SPEAKER_04]: Like the amount of text I got inside.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_04]: No, they would comment on your post.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_04]: Like have you birthday bro?
- 43:34[SPEAKER_04]: Have you birthday?
- 43:35[SPEAKER_04]: And then it's like, bro, he's twenty-three, which is like a compliment.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_04]: I remember when people sell it because they think I'm younger.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_04]: That's why.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, no.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_04]: No, they think you're older.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_04]: That's why it's a compliment.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_04]: They literally think you're probably like twenty-five to twenty-seven.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_04]: Fire.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, dude.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_04]: So chill.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_04]: Slow down.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_04]: Again, Gen Z, out here, just feeling late to the party.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_04]: I should be further along what do you like look at your life is like you're zooming.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just saying
- 44:06[SPEAKER_02]: I'm grateful.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_02]: By the way, it's good to note that these three things that you listed, they didn't happen in like an order.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_02]: Like all three of these things were happening together, coexisting at the same time.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe some with more focus and others at certain moments, but yeah, like it's on a step by step thing.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_04]: No, and that's not what I wanted to do because, hey, hey, hey, bring it in.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_04]: There is no step by step.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_04]: Literally.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's almost like you have to step out and then find out.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_04]: You have to step out and then find out.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_04]: You have to do so you discover you have to go and then you'll know.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_04]: For real, though, those are all facts.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_04]: But bro, he's becoming a word Smith like my own.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_04]: I'm becoming a word Smith like, oh my god, I'm just kidding.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_04]: No, for sure.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_04]: You become like your coaches.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_04]: You become like your mentors as you should.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_04]: But I will say, yeah, I quit my last W two job in twenty sixteen with an accessories company called Grace Brand.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_04]: And I was making custom vintage dog tags, traveling the country.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_04]: And like, wasn't necessarily knowing what I was doing, but it was working.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_02]: I know it was fire.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it was great.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_04]: Now, I look back, I could have built that mug to a gazillion dollar company.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_04]: Jesus loves you, co-what?
- 45:46[SPEAKER_04]: No, bro, Grace Brand.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no, and now.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_04]: No, no shade of Jesus loves you.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_04]: You can't.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_04]: Whatever.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_04]: It's like it's it's literally like here.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_04]: Hear me hear me.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_04]: Whatever you work will work.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_04]: Whether it.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_02]: whether it's on you or for you.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but you know what I mean is like you could start a clothing company in twenty twenty six twenty twenty five you could start making music and twenty there's going to be new
- 46:24[SPEAKER_04]: Like, like, there was no Amazon growing up.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_04]: There was no Tesla growing up.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_04]: There was no iPhone growing up.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_04]: There was no mirrorless cameras growing up.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_04]: There was like, like, when I just think about the world, I'm in, you just have to realize that, like, you could be the new version of the thing, you know, so just want to encourage you with that.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_04]: And yes, I didn't technically, although,
- 46:48[SPEAKER_04]: I've made a few million dollars, I guess you could say, in my time as an entrepreneur or a entrepreneur, as a solopreneur.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_04]: It didn't click until I was thirty three.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_04]: So I just want to encourage you.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_04]: Like, don't even make, like, I personally don't even make the money thing the goal.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_04]: And I know that's like how we package this video because that's just how people think.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_04]: So that's why we package it this way or this podcast.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_04]: But the reality is is like, if you just do like the principles, like if you just do that, you'll be fine.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_04]: But you'll be fine.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_04]: I just realize that like...
- 47:31[SPEAKER_04]: The only reason why it happened quickly when starting the video department, specifically coaching and consulting, not agency work, or not a clothing brand, was because of the mistakes, the failures, the awareness, the insight I got from helping other people build other things, and then also building those relationships.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe this is just the bonus one, and that is,
- 47:59[SPEAKER_04]: Who you're talking to?
- 48:01[SPEAKER_04]: Like, I've threaded this, I've exed this a few times.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_04]: And that is, if you change your conversations, you can change your life.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_04]: Like, you're in a conversational loop with the people that you talk to the most.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_04]: And something I found was there were some people where the conversation wasn't conducive to what I was trying to build.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_04]: And then other times there's conversations that I have with people in my world that are literally at minimum six figure ideas, conversations like, if we just carry this there.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_04]: So it's not even that you have to do everything you talk about.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_04]: It's just that over time you just are
- 48:50[SPEAKER_04]: That's all you're thinking.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_04]: So like the sum average of all these conversations is just you're going to implement one of these ideas and then boom, change your life.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, shout out to Neo Davis, who would say try and have a six or seven figure conversation every day.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_04]: That's what I mean, I hung up on him.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_04]: He was on the podcast.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_02]: Sounds difficult at first, but I mean, if you're around the right people, then it's just going to happen.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_02]: It's just natural.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_04]: What are you doing?
- 49:19[SPEAKER_04]: Like, oh, yeah, I did.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_04]: I got this.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_04]: We're working our emails because our email delivery really do times.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_02]: You have multiple a day.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, yeah, the like go take a nap, go jump in the pool.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_04]: Um, yeah, I'm going to call back Steve.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_04]: And, um,
- 49:38[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, let me just call him real quick.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_04]: And then we'll wrap up this podcast.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, if you're still listening or watching, you can DM me the word department fan.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_04]: This is Steve Penate.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_04]: He was on three episodes ago for episodes ago.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_04]: And he's somebody.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_04]: It's like people in your life that have like master, every time you talk, it's a mastermind.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_04]: We're literally working through something.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_04]: Like Neil called me yesterday and I was one of the fan, but we were just talking through the YouTube, the podcast, the next step called Action, you know?
- 50:11[SPEAKER_04]: What'd you do today?
- 50:11[SPEAKER_00]: Hi, from the podcast.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_04]: Nice.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_04]: What is it all for the elite and then did you had a closing?
- 50:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I had a closing, and then I onboarded a new agent.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_00]: What up?
- 50:30[SPEAKER_04]: What up?
- 50:33[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we're just wrapping up a pod.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, nice.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_04]: What are you doing this week for the podcast?
- 50:40[SPEAKER_00]: Crystal.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_04]: Sick.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_00]: How do you feel about it?
- 50:53[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so I just got off the phone.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_04]: I think that was like fifteen minutes.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_04]: With Neil, we talked about invoicing.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_04]: We talked about valuing a relationship that can open doors.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_04]: We talked about YouTube strategy.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_04]: We talked about fixing his next upload.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_04]: So that was just the conversation.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_04]: We didn't talk about
- 51:20[SPEAKER_04]: entertainment.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_04]: We can talk about happy Gilmore too.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_04]: We didn't talk about whatever.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_04]: I talked about happy Gilmore in this podcast.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_04]: And the next conversation was with Steve and Steve was told me his day.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I had a closing film the podcast and signed on a new agent.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_04]: What a day.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_04]: And he's like, I also talked with the hotel because he's thinking about the ring and live event in Fort Worth.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_04]: And then we're processing that.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_04]: And then I'm telling him about an investment property I'm looking at in Utah.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_04]: Let's just, it is two phone calls.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_04]: Two phone calls to less than ten minutes.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_04]: Less than ten, fifteen minutes.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_04]: And that was the topic of conversation.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_04]: You tell me how you don't become successful.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_04]: when those are the types of conversations you're having.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_04]: You're still watching your department, fam.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks, Art.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_04]: Go.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_04]: Love y'all.
