- 0:03that's are in a bad spot right now.
- 0:11I've never seen a Ranger team quick before the Olympics.
- 0:14We're going to be looking at Aaron Judge and saying that you
- 0:16can't win the big game, Michael Jordan said.
- 0:19I played 8 engine games. You don't see the fun doing
- 0:22that, but Jack Hughes did after getting his teeth knocked down
- 0:25to play every single shift he got back in the game.
- 0:29I'm going to find them home. I said the passion how me going
- 0:33to hold me back ain't going to RIP it off.
- 0:35Take it down. This kid don't black destiny
- 0:38fence and I took it to myself because I.
- 0:43Can't hold. It back and forth to my
- 0:56mind behind a cigarette. 631-672-3108 is the number to
- 1:43call. My name is Errol Marx.
- 1:46They call me the mouth. You're listening to New York
- 1:50sports loudmouth, my Co host. You know him as the
- 1:54distinguished gentleman, or that's what he.
- 1:56Calls. There you go.
- 1:57That's what they that's what everybody but me call him Mr.
- 2:02Quinton Couples and. The one.
- 2:05We call Speedy PD executive producer Mr. Aaron Fish Fishman
- 2:10on the back end, Mr. Mr. I guess I, I got to, I got to mention
- 2:15his name a little bit more easier.
- 2:17Nathan Ramatandra, right? Or am I right?
- 2:21I, I, it's very hard to pronounce his last name.
- 2:23I'm sorry. And we're going to have a new
- 2:25guest who's going to be joining us every single Thursday, ladies
- 2:28and gentlemen, his new and his Nick or his whatever name is, is
- 2:33Dickie Bragg. He will be joining us.
- 2:35Dickie Bragg is going to be joining us throughout the show.
- 2:38We're very excited to have him on.
- 2:39He's a new guest. He's going to be a part of the
- 2:41show every single Thursday. We're very excited.
- 2:43Dickie. What is up my friends?
- 2:46Oh man, thank you for having me and and true sports radio.
- 2:50Long time listener, first time caller.
- 2:53Oh my God, the the intro music. I was ready to run through a
- 2:57wall. Let's go.
- 2:58There you go. There's a lot of people
- 3:01listening to the show right now and I want to give a shout out
- 3:03to one person that to me has been a big fan of the show and
- 3:08that's Kevin. And he had a gender reveal over
- 3:11the last 48 hours and it is a girl.
- 3:14So I want to give a shout out to Kevin.
- 3:16Congratulations as he is going to have a daughter.
- 3:19So congratulations to him and we're very excited for him.
- 3:23Shout out to my friend Kev. And by the way, I there was a
- 3:26lot of sadness before the show. Kyle Busch passed away at 41
- 3:29years old. That is just a completely sad
- 3:32story to think about a 41 year old man getting sick the way he
- 3:37did and, and and just pass away. He there was conversations that
- 3:41he wasn't going to drive this weekend and now all of a sudden
- 3:44he passed away. So my heart goes out to the Bush
- 3:45family. It's a horrible, horrible story.
- 3:48One of the true legends over the last 15 years of racing.
- 3:53This is a two time champion, two time cup champion, a guy that
- 3:57will always be remembered for his fast pace mouth and love to
- 4:02fight in the cockpit. So he this is a guy that loved
- 4:06to argue, not only with his teammates, everybody else out
- 4:09there, but my heart goes out to the Bush family.
- 4:12It's a horrible, horrible story. And I, I just wish, I wish not
- 4:17to hear something like that before the show.
- 4:19That's just horrible. Kyle Busch, 1985 to 2026.
- 4:22He actually died at 41 years old.
- 4:24I'm 44, so he's three years younger than I am.
- 4:29And to see somebody like that and one of at one point one of
- 4:32the best race car drivers in the world and to see him go down
- 4:36sound like that, it's a horrible, horrible story.
- 4:38So my heart goes out to the Bush family.
- 4:40It's a crazy, crazy show. We're going to light it up
- 4:42tonight. We're going to get into a lot of
- 4:44Knicks conversation. What are we going to get into
- 4:46first? Of course, we're going to get
- 4:47into the Knicks as they historically came back against
- 4:51the Cavaliers in game #1 The Knicks came back to beat the
- 4:55Cavaliers 115 to one O 4 in overtime in a game where they
- 4:59trailed 93 to 71 with just under 8 minutes remaining in the game.
- 5:05The Knicks then went on an 18 to one run, led by Jaylen Bronson
- 5:10having 11 points in that stretch and Landry Chamet making
- 5:14multiple 3 pointers which cut the Cavaliers lead to 9489 with
- 5:19three minutes and 30 seconds to go.
- 5:22After Evan Mobley made a three-point shot on the next
- 5:26possession, the Knicks went on another ten to two run, led by
- 5:312-3 pointers from Mikhail Bridges and another three
- 5:34pointer from Chemet to tie the game at 99.
- 5:39James Harden made a jumper to give the Cavaliers the lead with
- 5:4431 seconds left, but then Jalen Brunson responded to hit a shot
- 5:51to tie the game for the Knicks with 19.3 seconds left,
- 5:55eventually sending it into overtime where the Knicks
- 5:58dominated. During the 18 to one run the
- 6:02Knicks forced James Harden to switch on Jaylen Bronson to
- 6:05become the primary defender on him at eight straight
- 6:10possessions and the Knicks scored every possession.
- 6:12Harden also had six toner turn turnovers and made just 5 field
- 6:17goals, now his 48th career playoff game with more turnovers
- 6:22than field goals. Teams trailing by 20 points in
- 6:27the fourth quarter in the in the NBA season only came back to win
- 6:31once compared to 521 losses, and the Knicks became just the four
- 6:37team in the last 30 years to come back in a playoff game down
- 6:42by 20. I will say this for all the
- 6:45Knick fans out there that watching the game, I was one of
- 6:48the Knick fans that wanted to shut it off.
- 6:50I did not want to watch the game.
- 6:52I was sick to my stomach going into the fourth quarter.
- 6:55I thought it was an absolute loss.
- 6:57It was, to me just a cold game and a lot of Knick fans sitting
- 7:01there would probably say, well, the Knicks had eight games or 8
- 7:04days off. They were getting healthy.
- 7:06OG and a Nobi needed to get healthy.
- 7:08Mikhail Bridges needed to get healthy, Jalen Bronson, Mitchell
- 7:11Robertson, and they came out really, really cold.
- 7:14They how many, how many 3 pointers did both teams miss in
- 7:16the first half? That was horrible shooting.
- 7:18It was a horrible, horrible game to watch.
- 7:21It was something that nobody wants to watch if you're a Knick
- 7:23fan or even a Cavalier fan. And then the third quarter came
- 7:28and the Knicks continue to play bad.
- 7:30But I will say this one thing about Mike Brown is the
- 7:33transition going into the half and changing up the lineups,
- 7:37trying to figure out what is going to work.
- 7:39Josh Hart was not defending Donovan Mitchell in the first
- 7:42half very well. Donovan Mitchell was playing
- 7:44great basketball, but he looked like he was getting tired in the
- 7:47second-half and you can see it. And Landry Chamet, when he
- 7:50brought him in, change the pace of the fourth quarter, he really
- 7:54did. And we're going to get into
- 7:55statistics, but statistics don't sell what happened in this game.
- 8:00And I'll say this, if you're a Knick fan right now, and if
- 8:03you're not a Knick fan, what you saw was something that you'll
- 8:06probably never see again. Something like that does not
- 8:10happen in Eastern or Western Conference Finals.
- 8:12It doesn't happen in the NBA Finals.
- 8:15To watch a team completely breakdown the way they did.
- 8:18And Kenny Atkinson has a lot to be blamed for his timeouts.
- 8:21He had four timeouts. He didn't call any of them.
- 8:24And after three minutes, you lose 2 timeouts.
- 8:27That's the way the NBA works in the fourth quarter.
- 8:30And Kenny Atkinson had no answers to the media after the
- 8:34game. And we'll get into that too.
- 8:36Jalen Bronson, who was not shooting the ball very well
- 8:40throughout the 1st 3/4, he really wasn't.
- 8:43But in the fourth quarter, as we call him Mr. Clutch, one of the
- 8:48best clutch shooters in the NBA, this guy is one of the best
- 8:53really takedown players in an all of the NBA.
- 8:57He just went on a run that we probably will never see again.
- 9:01To score 38 points and score 11 points in less than I would say
- 9:075 minutes and do it at such a high pace at a high clip, to
- 9:12watch this guy just put the team on his shoulders and win this
- 9:18game, really tie the game in and eventually win it overtime was
- 9:22absolutely amazing. I don't care what anybody says
- 9:24now, I everybody's trying to argue that Jalen Bronson is the
- 9:27greatest nick of all time already.
- 9:28He has a lot more to go before we can say he's the greatest
- 9:31nick of all time. If he wins a championship, we
- 9:33can argue it, but Willis Reed won an MVP.
- 9:38Willis Reed is the only nick to win an MVP.
- 9:41Patrick Ewing for a 10 year span was one of the best big men in
- 9:44the NBA. He didn't win a championship
- 9:46with the Knicks, but he never had players like Mikhail Bridges
- 9:50and OG Anna Nobi and Karl Anthony Towns.
- 9:53He never had those type of players.
- 9:55He had good players. Charles Oakley, Anthony Mason,
- 9:57we can go on and on and on. Xavier McDaniels, we've seen
- 10:00some great Knicks, but they weren't elite players in the
- 10:03NBA. But what we saw in the fourth
- 10:08quarter was absolute domination. Donovan Mitchell look tired,
- 10:13James Harden look like James Harden, absolutely pathetic,
- 10:17flopping around, making mistakes, not playing defense,
- 10:21trying to play defense and flop around his stupid jump back
- 10:25shot, which nobody likes. It's one of the most ugliest
- 10:28shots in NBA history, which has worked for many, many years as a
- 10:32trickery shot as the NBA. Don't call it double dribble or
- 10:36I don't know what you want to call it.
- 10:39The problem right now for the Cavaliers is when you lose a
- 10:42game like that, how do you come back from it?
- 10:46How do you come back from a game that you were up 22 with less
- 10:50than 8 minutes left? Think about this.
- 10:55The Knicks outscored the Cavaliers 44 to 11 / 12 minutes
- 11:02and 49 seconds in NBA history, 663 and O.
- 11:13When a team has a 22 point lead with 7 1/2 minutes left of the
- 11:19game, the Knicks are the first team to break that.
- 11:23Think about that when you talk about breaking records and what
- 11:26the Knicks have been doing throughout the playoffs,
- 11:28especially in the fourth quarter, is absolutely amazing.
- 11:32The Knicks are probably the best third quarter team in the
- 11:35playoffs. They're the best 3 point shooter
- 11:39shooting team in the playoffs going into that particular game,
- 11:42which was horrible to watch. And what we are seeing right now
- 11:48is this the year? Is this the year that the Knicks
- 11:52are going to win a championship? I know for years we see all
- 11:55these Knicks fans after the games jumping around excited.
- 11:59You see them right there in the picture, happy go lucky, crying.
- 12:02This team is going to wipe the floor with the Cavaliers, wipe
- 12:06the floor with the 76ers. They went to the 76er game and
- 12:10outmatched the 76er fans as they were given free tickets to go to
- 12:14the games. The Hawks showing up to the Hawk
- 12:17games in Atlanta and and just being Knick fans.
- 12:22Crazy nuts, absolutely redundant to anybody around them.
- 12:27And like Kevin Garnett says, I don't believe there are any fans
- 12:31out there like the Knick fans. It doesn't matter if they win a
- 12:34championship, as long as they win a game.
- 12:37This team will go crazy no matter what.
- 12:39It's unbelievable how these fans act after a game, after a win.
- 12:44They're all over the place. They're climbing poles, ripping
- 12:46down cars and and doing whatever the hell they're doing.
- 12:49I have, I've never seen anything like it except the Philadelphia
- 12:52fans after winning a Super Bowl eating horse crap, which I've
- 12:55I've heard many, many different stories about that.
- 12:57But the Knicks fans are crazy. We see Yankee fans.
- 13:01Yankee fans aren't like this. We've seen Yankee championships.
- 13:06Yankee fans are crazy, but they're not like this.
- 13:09How about Giant fans? I've seen crazy Giant fans.
- 13:12Giant fans are not like this. Jet fans are crazy.
- 13:15I said. Even even if they win a playoff
- 13:17game, which they haven't won one in, like, I don't know, 16-17
- 13:20years, but nevertheless, when they win a playoff game, they're
- 13:23crazy, but not crazy like this. Knick fans are nuts, and Jalen
- 13:29Bronson, Mikhail Bridges, OG Ananobi, Karl Anthony Towns,
- 13:33Landry Schmetz, Josh Hart, Mitchell Robertson, Mikhail
- 13:37Bridges. I said that already.
- 13:40Every single player on that bench and Mike Brown, they're
- 13:45going to make you believe that this team can not only win this
- 13:49series, but win an NBA championship we haven't seen
- 13:52since 1973. 1973 was the last time the New York Knicks won a
- 13:58championship when it was black and white, black and white.
- 14:01TV's Willis Reed coming out limping on the basketball court.
- 14:05Walt Clyde Frazier, the pusher, All these guys, all these great
- 14:11players, Phil Jackson. We all remember Phil Jackson,
- 14:15not the the coach Phil Jackson, the player Phil Jackson who won
- 14:18two NBA championships with the New York Knicks.
- 14:22When you watch this New York Knick team, you have to be
- 14:25excited. But it's not over.
- 14:28And Knick fans like to believe that.
- 14:30Oh we, we came back from a 22 point deficit.
- 14:34This series is over. Anybody would believe that.
- 14:37You really drive a stake through the Cavaliers heart and and
- 14:43Kenny Atkinson, who is a New Yorker, a true New Yorker, a
- 14:46Long Islander, a guy that I look up to, he does a lot of camps
- 14:49out here in the Hamptons in the summertime.
- 14:51The guy is such a good person, good hearted soul.
- 14:54He was like a deer in the headlights, ladies and
- 14:57gentlemen. A deer in the headlights after
- 14:59the game, making excuses, pointing fingers at players, not
- 15:04figuring out the pace of the game, calling time outs when his
- 15:07team was tired. None of it made any sense and
- 15:11his opinion and his argument to it was absolutely ridiculous.
- 15:16Think about it when you go out there and you speak to the media
- 15:18and he knows all about the media because he worked with the
- 15:21Knicks for a long time. He helped Jeremy Lin, he's
- 15:24helped a lot of Knick point guards.
- 15:26This guy is a great, great head coach.
- 15:28His excuse to why he didn't call timeouts was is that he didn't
- 15:33think his team was tired. He wanted to catch the Knicks
- 15:36off balance when the truth was that James Harden had no idea
- 15:42who he was defending. And when he was on, Jalen
- 15:44Brunson was absolutely dominated.
- 15:49And Donovan Mitchell look like after the game, he just wanted
- 15:54to limp off the field, want to limp off the court, wondering
- 15:58what the hell happened, how did this happen, Why did this
- 16:01happen? What happened to my Cavaliers?
- 16:04And you want to know something? I'm sure Donovan Mitchell is
- 16:06wishing that the Knicks made that trade to bring him over
- 16:11there. Now, maybe Jalen Brunson
- 16:13wouldn't be a Knick. We all know the whole story.
- 16:15They decided to go after Jalen Brunson over Donovan Mitchell.
- 16:18But Donovan Mitchell grew up a Knick fan.
- 16:22He lived 45 minutes from Madison Square Garden.
- 16:25He watched a lot of bad Knick teams.
- 16:27His favorite player growing up was John Starks, who's sitting
- 16:31right there on the sidelines standing up for the New York
- 16:34Knicks. Isn't that so?
- 16:36And we say this about Jose Alvarado.
- 16:38He grew up a Knick fan. He always wanted to be a Knick.
- 16:41He got his dream. The Knicks made the trade.
- 16:43Leon Rose added a point guard. They needed guard depth.
- 16:46And they had they added one because two of their guards were
- 16:49not healthy. But you, you think about this,
- 16:53the real truth, if this team wins the championship, everybody
- 16:58wants to give it to Jalen Brunson.
- 16:59Everybody wants to say Mike Brown's a genius and all this
- 17:02other stuff. The real guy that people are
- 17:04going to have to give a lot of compliments to is Leon Rose.
- 17:10Leon Rose came here to the New York Knicks and changed this
- 17:14organization. You could say whatever you want.
- 17:17He was the one that decided to bring Jalen Bronson in and
- 17:19extend and give him a three-year deal.
- 17:21He also extended him after that. He gave Mitchell Robertson a
- 17:24four year deal, which has been a big, big part of the growth of
- 17:28the youth of this team. Then he made a trade, trade RJ
- 17:32Barrett and quickly to Toronto to bring OG Ananobi.
- 17:37And we've seen how what OG Ananobi has turned into.
- 17:40Then everybody was complaining about the five draft picks that
- 17:43they give up from Mikhail Bridges.
- 17:45You see why now? Mikhail Bridges is such a big
- 17:48part of why they decided to make that move.
- 17:52And then the Karl Anthony, Karl Anthony Towns trade, which a lot
- 17:55of people thought was it too much?
- 17:57Julius Randall, Dante de Vicenzo, a pick and all this
- 18:02other stuff. How did this make sense?
- 18:04It was called freaking Anthony Towns.
- 18:07Carl Anthony Towns, the best offensive center in the NBA.
- 18:11Now we haven't seen Carl Anthony Towns play like this.
- 18:14And even when he plays bad, he doesn't show up and, and pass
- 18:18the ball, share the ball and, and, and show people what type
- 18:22of what type of game he can have as an NBA player.
- 18:27Nicola Jokic has changed the game.
- 18:30He has become the big man that not only shares the ball,
- 18:34dominates when he needs to dominate.
- 18:38Carl Anthony Towns. If somehow he transitions his
- 18:41game at 30 years old into this, not only is he going to add five
- 18:46more years to his career, we're talking about championship,
- 18:50speedy championships. Yes, and that's the biggest
- 18:52thing, the biggest difference from last year when you saw when
- 18:56he was struggling, he still would try to shoot threes.
- 18:59He would still try to do the thing, the shots in the paint,
- 19:01those turn around shots that he liked to do and he still shoot
- 19:05himself out of games. Now you could see him be a more
- 19:08selfless passer. You've seen him more be a guy
- 19:10that's going to focus on defense.
- 19:11Karl Anthony Town's fourth quarter defensive game was
- 19:13another big reason for this comeback.
- 19:15It's not going to show in the stats because of the Knicks 18
- 19:17to one run, but his defense was very strong down the stretch and
- 19:20that's something I don't think you would have seen last year
- 19:22and I don't think you would have seen in his playoff times with
- 19:25Minnesota. And while he isn't a great
- 19:27defender overall, it's those effort defensive plays that can
- 19:30make a difference in the playoffs for an 18 to one run
- 19:32that was very impactful and you saw something you saw the Knicks
- 19:36do that very well with the rotational, the bench players as
- 19:39well, getting guys in the right positions defensively to start
- 19:42this transition run. Another big reason that the
- 19:44Knicks were able to get Brunson a lot of good transition baskets
- 19:47in addition to those screens on James Harden was the fact that
- 19:50they got open spaces and got quicker defensive reps.
- 19:54And I think that was a big key. And Mike Brown definitely
- 19:56deserves some credit, But you said Leon Rose deserves some
- 19:58credit for getting guys that fit the better pace of basketball.
- 20:02That the Knicks didn't have last year, and Jalen Brunson was able
- 20:06to take smart shots because of that.
- 20:07Landry Shamit took smart shots because of that, Yes.
- 20:09Did they get a lucky bounce? Yes.
- 20:11But those are going to happen once in a while.
- 20:13Obviously, the Knicks got screwed by one last year against
- 20:15the Pacers. Now, I think the other thing
- 20:18too, that the Knicks duped Cleveland in the I.
- 20:21Love that word. Dupes, yeah.
- 20:23Cleveland in the very. Well is use your.
- 20:25Word forcing Donovan Mitchell to try to do too much on the
- 20:28defensive side of the ball and I think it really wore out his
- 20:31offense. And we know Donovan Mitchell is
- 20:33a good defender, but OG and Anobi and Josh Hart were doing
- 20:36so many switches that it really confused him and eventually
- 20:39enforced James Harden, the terrible choke artist defender
- 20:42he is to Bronson as well. And once they started to do
- 20:45that, they Cavs had to overcompensate to double team
- 20:48Bronson so much more often led by Donovan Mitchell, which
- 20:51isolates Donovan Mitchell away from another one-on-one
- 20:54defender. So even with Harder wasn't the
- 20:56primary defender then, the Knicks were still getting good
- 20:59shots because of it too. And the Knicks were not forcing
- 21:01bad shots either. Even down 22 the Knicks had the
- 21:05mindset still still take smart shots.
- 21:07Now, I think it took him a while because Jalen Bronson, I think
- 21:10in the first quarter adjusted to that teardrop shot very well in
- 21:13the paint where they scored I think seven of the first like 10
- 21:16points the Knicks had in that game.
- 21:17But then they kind of deviated away from it.
- 21:19And I think they were trying too many threes at that point after
- 21:21that. And you were even saying it,
- 21:22too, like why are the Knicks shooting so many threes in the
- 21:24second quarter? They looked horrible, absolutely
- 21:27horrible. Both teams look horrible, Yeah.
- 21:28Cleveland struggled to shoot threes early in the game, too,
- 21:31but in the second and third quarter got it going there and
- 21:33the Knicks still tried to do it. But it's once they started to
- 21:35adjust more away from that. Even at the start of the third
- 21:37quarter, when the Knicks were still kind of exchanging baskets
- 21:40before their big runs, they were at least taking smarter shots
- 21:43offensively. They just need to get stops.
- 21:45And eventually they started to get stops.
- 21:47They started to pick on James Harden.
- 21:48And I agree with you about Kenny Atkinson, too.
- 21:50Kenny Atkinson? Yeah, there's one thing you say,
- 21:52all right, your teams not tired. Don't preserve the timeouts.
- 21:55But you have to take time out to game plan too.
- 21:58And it it took you to the end of the 18 one run do that it was 93
- 22:01to 71. Then it turned 9489 and there
- 22:04was only one TV time out in between.
- 22:06These two guys coached on the same team together.
- 22:08Yeah, They know each other very well.
- 22:10Mike Brown and Kenny Atkinson were on the Golden State bench.
- 22:13They knew each other very, very well.
- 22:15They they both run the kind of the same style of offense, like,
- 22:20like Kurt does and Popovich does.
- 22:22It's not a triangle offense, but they like to isolate certain
- 22:26parts of the game. Donovan Mitchell is an isolator
- 22:29and so is Jalen Brunson. And they play kind of the same
- 22:32style of game. Both guys dominate the game,
- 22:35dominate the ball when they need to.
- 22:36But Donovan Mitchell for some reason in the fourth quarter
- 22:40could not get the ball. And when he did get the ball,
- 22:42Landry Chemet was all over him, all over him in the fourth
- 22:47quarter. Donovan Mitchell had how many
- 22:49shots in the fourth quarter, how many points did he score in the
- 22:51fourth quarter? And, and he didn't look good in
- 22:54the overtime either. So it it just shows you that
- 22:57Mike Brown transitions better than Tom Thibodeau.
- 23:00Tom Thibodeau is going back to Chicago.
- 23:02Let's be honest, ladies and gentlemen, we saw enough for Tom
- 23:05Thibodeau. A lot of people took shots at
- 23:07Leon Rose in the offseason. Why did you fire him?
- 23:09He went to the Eastern Conference final.
- 23:11We all know Tom Thibodeau took the Knicks as far as he possibly
- 23:14can. He's taking the Chicago Bulls
- 23:17all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals.
- 23:18He didn't do much with the Timberwolves.
- 23:20We all know he took over as AGM and head coach.
- 23:23And then he took the New York Knicks as far as he possibly
- 23:25can. Mike Brown has coached in the
- 23:28finals. He has been an assistant coach
- 23:30in the Finals. He's won championships as an
- 23:32assistant coach, never as a head coach.
- 23:35This is a guy that deserves an opportunity to to be the guy
- 23:40and, and, and, and, and. I think Leon Rose has been not
- 23:43only a genius, he has believed in his pace and his
- 23:48understanding on where this team is going and what he thinks this
- 23:52team is capable of doing. It's been unbelievable.
- 23:54Leon Rose has been not only one of the top three GM's in the
- 23:59league, he might be one of the best executives not only in New
- 24:04York Knick history, New York sports history.
- 24:07Yeah, Crazy to think when you look at the kind of
- 24:10unconventional logic that they went with, when you look at some
- 24:13of the models that teams have used, obviously we talk about
- 24:15the Thunder getting all those draft picks that they did,
- 24:17hitting on all those undrafted players.
- 24:19We talk about the Celtics accumulating the the picks the
- 24:22way they did and the way Brad Stevens is drafted, both as a
- 24:24coach, as a player. Those are kind of what you would
- 24:26consider the new models. And then the Knicks kind of did
- 24:28it on a little different where they were training those draft
- 24:31picks earlier than we expected. Barrett obviously being the big
- 24:33one, but also also Quigley. Also they experimented with Cam
- 24:38Radish. They once that didn't work.
- 24:39They traded him to get Josh Hart.
- 24:41They made those kinds of trades when you probably wouldn't have
- 24:43expected it to. And then like you said, the cat
- 24:45trade was until obviously the Lukodontik trade last year, it
- 24:48looked like the biggest fleece job in the league when you look
- 24:50at all the Knicks fans. I want to trade Julius Randall
- 24:52at that time. And they people were thinking
- 24:54that Towns was going to warrant at least two first round picks
- 24:57and maybe 3. And the Knicks only had to trade
- 24:58one more first round draft pick away in order to do that.
- 25:01And they still were able to get a guy in town that's been
- 25:04durable, like you said, probably the most skilled big man
- 25:07shooting wise. And besides Nicola Yokich, he's
- 25:09now elevated his game to be one of the best passing.
- 25:11And he's not shooting 80 foot jumpers anymore.
- 25:14And that's no more of that. That's.
- 25:16Why? I was just driving me before
- 25:17with the instincts that you would have seen from him this
- 25:19year compared to last year. And maybe Mike Brown has
- 25:20something to do with that, maybe with their attention at the
- 25:22beginning of the season, Brown Town taking shots at him for not
- 25:25getting him more involved in the offense.
- 25:27And he catered back to the other direction where he if he knows
- 25:29he's not scoring, because he did struggle at in the first half to
- 25:32score, he knew to make selfless basketball plays and that was a
- 25:35big difference. Yeah, I think it was more Cavs
- 25:41issues more so than it was about what New York did.
- 25:44I think New York played their game throughout the whole entire
- 25:48game. And when you look at the Cavs,
- 25:51they just didn't deliver. They had nothing to offer.
- 25:54I think they went more data analytic, which has been proven
- 25:57again once in the playoff that analytics isn't the end all be
- 26:01all. Like you said earlier, around a
- 26:03730 mark of the fourth quarter, it was a 99 Percent, 99.9%
- 26:07chance that there was going to win the game.
- 26:09And I think Kenny just sat on timeouts and just sat there
- 26:12like, hey, there's no way we're going to lose this game.
- 26:14So he just kept playing. But the Cavs is going to go as
- 26:17far as Evan Mobley if he can't give them a consistent 20 or
- 26:20more points that if you go back and just look overall in regards
- 26:24to their schedule and the games that they played, if he don't
- 26:28score 20 points or more, he's not they're not a very good team
- 26:33overall. They'll be top heavy with James
- 26:35Harden or they'll be top heavy with Donovan Mitchell, But it's
- 26:38not going to be enough to actually be the complete team,
- 26:41especially when you have some people, you know, on the bench
- 26:43that are contributing to the the points on the other side of the
- 26:47ball. So I think that yeah, Kenny,
- 26:50Kenny, I think it was a tough lesson for obviously, I think
- 26:53Donovan Mitchell need to understand that he's the number
- 26:55one option. James Harden isn't the number
- 26:57one option. He didn't come over there to be
- 26:59the number one option. But I believe that because of
- 27:01his offensive gifting, Donovan Mitchell has kind of deferred to
- 27:05him because at the end of the day, Donovan Mitchell caught
- 27:07fire. He was hot for a while
- 27:10throughout the game and then he just as you go back and look at
- 27:12the game, you just see him passing the ball to James
- 27:15Harden. I'm and myself and I'm in the
- 27:17living room like what's going on?
- 27:18Why are you passing him the ball in?
- 27:20Especially when you have the hot head.
- 27:22When you have the hot head, you have that privilege to take
- 27:25extra shots. You have that leverage to be
- 27:27able to miss some shots because you have the hot head.
- 27:31You're the reason that we have this lead.
- 27:33You're the reason that you are contributed to the 2022 point
- 27:36lead that we have over the Knicks and whatnot.
- 27:39I knew they were going to come out down the job because they
- 27:42had knits was going to come out down the job because they had
- 27:44nine days layoff. But it really had nothing to do
- 27:47with the Knicks to me. It just had to do with the Cavs
- 27:50just sitting back, not playing good defense, which they're not
- 27:53really a good defensive team. And all they got lit with
- 27:55obviously with Jared Allen and Evan Mobley, but they don't
- 27:58really play real good defense. Not have been.
- 28:00Mitchell is the average. James Harden is terrible and
- 28:04nobody else is on the bench or on the, in the start, a group
- 28:08that can actually like, stop somebody.
- 28:09Dennis Schroeder is a good defender in regards to coming
- 28:12off the bench. I would say that from the point
- 28:15garbages, he can actually apply pressure.
- 28:17But he was even during the point of time of the game, Dennis
- 28:19Schroeder was actually taking more shots than Donovan Mitchell
- 28:22and James Harden. And I'm just thinking myself
- 28:24like, this can't be life. Like, you know, yeah, the guy is
- 28:28a good player, but this can't be real.
- 28:29But yeah, I think the Cuban Cavaliers have, you know, they
- 28:33blew that game that was supposed to take that game one, but now
- 28:35they don't. Gave momentum back to New York
- 28:37and they probably gonna steal one tonight and then it'd be
- 28:41done after that 41. I watched the OKC Thunder last
- 28:44night with the Spurs. OKC pulled it off well, we'll go
- 28:47into that in just a few moments. But I what really and I, I
- 28:50disagree with you, Qi completely disagree with you as far as the
- 28:53defensive side of the ball. The the Cavaliers were a top 15
- 28:58team this year defensively. They have Evan Mobley, who's a
- 29:01good defender. Allen is a good defender.
- 29:03Donovan Mitchell is a good defender.
- 29:05James Harden is not a good defender.
- 29:07But their team defense is pretty good.
- 29:08They're good defensive rebounding team, offensive
- 29:11rebounding team. They just for some reason
- 29:14thought that the game was over in the fourth quarter and the
- 29:17Knicks never say die. And that has a lot to do with a
- 29:20guy like Mr. Clutch, the captain of the New York Knicks.
- 29:23He doesn't think that the game is over.
- 29:24He doesn't think that there's any chance that if there's 7
- 29:28minutes left or 8 minutes left or 10 minutes left, that the
- 29:31team is completely done. And I, I watched what I saw with
- 29:35the New York Knicks on Tuesday was one thing.
- 29:38The New York Knicks are not the same New York team they were
- 29:42last year against Indiana in the Eastern Conference Finals.
- 29:45When Halliburton hit that shot to take it into overtime, which
- 29:48everybody thought it was a three pointer, but he stepped on the
- 29:50line. It went to overtime after the
- 29:52Knicks lost that, that game, everybody thought that the
- 29:55Knicks were going to lose that series.
- 29:57Everybody, every Knick fan thought they were going to lose
- 29:59that series. Now after what Jaylen Bronson
- 30:03did and Jaylen Bronson did not play well in Eastern Conference
- 30:06Finals last year, Indiana defended him very, very well.
- 30:10Rick, Rick Carlisle is one of the best defensive minded
- 30:13coaches in the NBA. He knows how to stop your best
- 30:16player. He is the Bill Belichick of the
- 30:18NBA. That's what he does.
- 30:19He's going to stick your best player.
- 30:21You got to beat me with the other players and they couldn't
- 30:23do it. This year it's different.
- 30:24Karl Anthony Towns is a different player.
- 30:27OG Ananobi is having one of his best playoff runs.
- 30:30Remember OJ Ananobi, he won. OG Ananobi played and he won a
- 30:34championship with the Raptors and he played.
- 30:36He was a big factor but he wasn't 100% healthy.
- 30:39The time that kawhile Leonard is there what OG and Nanobi could
- 30:42do and he didn't have a great game.
- 30:44If OG and Nanobi is 100%, he plays at a high level.
- 30:48If these guys, Mikhail Bridges, OG and Nanobi call Anthony
- 30:51Towns, it doesn't matter what Josh Hart does.
- 30:53If these four guys are playing at a high level, nobody is
- 30:56beating the Knicks in the playoffs.
- 30:59Not OKC and not the Spurs. They done the temperature go be
- 31:03in. Really.
- 31:04We'll get. Into that, yeah, you celebrate
- 31:06the finals, but this, the temperature come out of the
- 31:08West. You can see a big let off when
- 31:10you look at the Western Conference.
- 31:11Find them in the Eastern Conference.
- 31:12I disagree. I think you're seeing a lot
- 31:14fresher of the Knicks team than you did last year, and I think
- 31:17that's the biggest difference. The biggest difference is Tom
- 31:20Thibodeaux would run his players into the ground.
- 31:23They'd be playing 48 minutes a game in the regular season.
- 31:26If you think about old teams that Tom Thibodeau coached, the
- 31:29Derrick Rose teams, it was give Derrick Rose the ball and
- 31:32everybody get out of the way. That's what they ran last year.
- 31:34This year, they're moving the ball a lot better.
- 31:36They're getting open shots. These open shots are falling.
- 31:39If you were going to tell me in game one that they were going to
- 31:42shoot 11% from three in the first half and then be down 20,
- 31:45like, yeah, all right, the Cavs stole game one.
- 31:48But no, they came back. They hit the open shots.
- 31:51And the the other thing is he was quick to the bench.
- 31:54So Deuce McBride was not doing a good job on Donovan Mitchell.
- 31:57He didn't make his first couple shots.
- 31:59He wasn't playing well. He moved, he moved on.
- 32:02He moved Josh Hart on the Donovan Mitchell.
- 32:04Now they're similar size, but not as he's not as athletic as
- 32:07Donovan Mitchell. Andrew Shamit, that's what he
- 32:09did. And Andrew played great with his
- 32:12ability to be agile and quick and stay in front of Donovan
- 32:15Mitchell. He made it difficult for him and
- 32:17you saw he folded, he started passing the ball Border Harden.
- 32:20And they weren't getting easy shots at the end and they were,
- 32:22they were turning the ball over. A lot.
- 32:25Yeah, there were 4-4 players in the top eight last year for
- 32:29Thibodeau on the Knicks that had the most minutes played per
- 32:32game. And you definitely could see the
- 32:34difference there. And you're right, they kind of
- 32:36rotated different bench players, bench guards to make it work.
- 32:39Alvarado defensively at the start of the fourth quarter was
- 32:41very good as well. And then Shannon, like you said,
- 32:43on both sides of the ball, it was an important factor.
- 32:46And Q, the reason why I you can't count the Knicks out yet
- 32:49either is because a lot of the Spurs, if they play the Spurs, a
- 32:52lot of those prevalent guards that they have are guards at the
- 32:56Knicks have enough defensive guards against.
- 32:58Them and here and here's another thing.
- 33:00If you look at all four teams that are still in the playoffs,
- 33:02who's the most healthiest? The New York Knicks.
- 33:04The Knicks are the healthiest team right now going into the
- 33:08Eastern and Western Conference finals.
- 33:10OKC just lost Jalen Williams. He could be out of significant.
- 33:13I'm going to play with him all year.
- 33:15He's the goal. Dylan, that's fine.
- 33:17The playoffs are different. It's all about depth basketball.
- 33:21That's the reason they really they really.
- 33:23Don't have as much depth as you think they.
- 33:25Do they? Don't they really Don't?
- 33:27They really don't. I think it's a.
- 33:30Different offensive player coming off the bench for the
- 33:33Knicks. Think they're bucket getters.
- 33:35Jordan Clarkson gets buckets. Landry Shaman, if you leave him
- 33:38open, he he's going to hit it. Deuce McBride, you saw him get
- 33:41hot in the sweep game. OKC doesn't have that coming off
- 33:43the bench. No, they got they got Caruso and
- 33:46everybody's all right. So you're going to tell me right
- 33:49now, because Caruso's having a good series, that he's going to
- 33:53continue doing this against the Knicks?
- 33:54Who's the best? Who's the best defensive?
- 33:57Team in the NBA the. Spurs are going to win that
- 33:59series. Say they going.
- 34:01To be the best team in the NBA defensively is the New York the
- 34:05defending. Chance until they're not.
- 34:07That's fine, That's fine. What does that?
- 34:09What does that mean? What is that hypotheticals over
- 34:11here Hypothetical. They'll go back to 1977 where
- 34:15they played it like but the new. York not a franchise in 1977.
- 34:21The hypothetical here is you're talking about a team that was
- 34:25the best defensive team in the NBA all season long, and that
- 34:29was the New York Knicks and a top five offensive team in the
- 34:31NBA. Mike Brown is a different coach
- 34:33than Tom Thibodeau. And I'm going to tell you this
- 34:35right now. It doesn't matter if it's OK C
- 34:38or the Spurs, they got to get through the Cavs Cavs series
- 34:40series. And if they get through the Cavs
- 34:42series, I'm not worried about OK C and I'm not worried about the
- 34:45Spurs. And the reason why is because I
- 34:47think the Knicks have the size to beat the Spurs and I think
- 34:50the Knicks have the the depth to beat OKC and I.
- 34:54You say they don't, but what makes you think that they don't?
- 34:56You were the one that said the Atlanta Hawks were going to.
- 34:59Beat the Knicks. You were the 1 to say that the
- 35:03you're the one, did you not? Did you not say that we're.
- 35:07Going to say what, Harper? What are we talking about?
- 35:15All right, keep trying to overlook these guys, all right?
- 35:17They just some average Joes, these these guys.
- 35:19The West is thick over there, right?
- 35:22It's tough over there. That's where the championship.
- 35:23Dylan Harper, first of all, has a worse hamstring pole than OJ
- 35:28Nanobi does. It's a great one.
- 35:30So he could be out for the rest of the playoffs.
- 35:33Big mouth for the best, for the rest of the playoffs, for the
- 35:37rest of the playoffs. And you're going to sit here and
- 35:40say Dylan Harper? That's what you're pitching us,
- 35:42Dylan Harper. It's just, it's just a please.
- 35:46Come on, you're going to. You're going.
- 35:47To try to sell that. To us, I just gave him as a
- 35:50death row, you know what I mean? You still got there, Fox.
- 35:52You still got. Dr. Fox, you still got wigs.
- 35:55I. Hope you.
- 35:56Have all these parts. You keep making it seem like
- 35:58these guys are slouches. D Aaron Fox has not bad ankles.
- 36:02They're going to make it to the finals, they're going to get
- 36:04swept and we're going to live. All Oh yeah, they're going to
- 36:06get swept. Gentleman swell or either swell,
- 36:09Yes, one of the. You're out of your mind.
- 36:11You trust your mind. You're.
- 36:13I don't know about that. Guarantee, Guarantee.
- 36:17I don't know about that, hey. I tell you what?
- 36:19I tell you what. I tell you what, I tell you
- 36:21what. I'm not going to be able to keep
- 36:23up with that pace as they doing now and the Western government
- 36:26said they got that type. Of if the Knicks.
- 36:28I think it's a repeat of the Spurs, Knicks 90 million playing
- 36:33championship this year. NBA Cup, baby.
- 36:36NBA Cup. The Emirates Cup, I think.
- 36:40Emirates, are you saying we have the?
- 36:42Script writers on our side. That's what you're going to see.
- 36:45And yeah, Mitchell Robinson is going to be key in that, in
- 36:47that. Vicky, are you saying the NBA,
- 36:50the Knicks have the script writers on their side?
- 36:51Because the NBA will be like, let's hope our NBA Cup.
- 36:54To be honest, I thought the script writers were on our side
- 36:56last year and I thought it was going to be Timberwolves now.
- 36:59We won the NBA Cup. That's a big difference for
- 37:01them. I'm sorry, I'm not going to sell
- 37:03myself to think. That hey, if it is a rematch and
- 37:06we win the championship, you got to hang a banner for the NBA Cup
- 37:09too. Probably the only time that ever
- 37:11happened. Very low around.
- 37:13Here, Qi don't know. The Knicks were undefeated
- 37:15against the Spurs this season, including.
- 37:17I don't care about regular season because the same thing
- 37:20happened with. Why am I worried when they have
- 37:22nothing? But you.
- 37:24But did you Hold on, Hold on. Hold on.
- 37:27Hold on last night. Hold on.
- 37:29Did you not just say that the Cavaliers throughout the year
- 37:33were one of the worst defensive teams?
- 37:35And they're not a good defensive team.
- 37:37I didn't say they were. Too worse.
- 37:38How would you declare that? How would you declare that?
- 37:40Go back. You're looking at the game.
- 37:42You're looking only. It's only inside the paint
- 37:44defense. You're wrong.
- 37:45It's not around the perimeter. You're wrong.
- 37:47Look at this. You're wrong.
- 37:48Oh look, you're well in the paint.
- 37:50They were. Top. 15 dead ass in the least in
- 37:53the paint. Go dive a little bit deeper into
- 37:56the details arrow. I need to tell you inside the
- 37:58paint they are good defenders. When it comes to outside of the
- 38:03they are not good defenders. And it's like they're average.
- 38:06They're good and it's OK, but we're not in, we're not average
- 38:08about a league that leads with. Donovan Mitchell is better than
- 38:12average as a defender on the outside.
- 38:14For you to say that Donovan Mitchell is an average defender
- 38:18just shows you how dumb you really are.
- 38:19Yeah. I'm done.
- 38:21Yeah, the dog take he got. You never heard?
- 38:23Somebody say Donovan. Mitchell, it's a.
- 38:25Great defender he is. You just said something about it
- 38:28earlier and you're taking no. He's a good defender.
- 38:30He is looking tired. He looks like he does.
- 38:33But Donovan Mitchell is more than an average defender.
- 38:36This guy came into the league from Louisville as a top
- 38:39defender and this year. Now.
- 38:41All right, I'm going to tell you right now.
- 38:43Talk about. All right, I'll talk about Ron
- 38:45right now. Top five defender at his
- 38:47position this year was Donovan Mitchell.
- 38:49Top five, Go look it up. Big mouth, go look it up.
- 38:51Big mouth, go look it up. Big mouth, Go look it up.
- 38:54Go look it up. Yap yap yap yap yap yap yap.
- 38:58In front of him. Donovan Mitchell is 1.
- 39:01Who's the four in front of him? Stop talking about him.
- 39:04Alexander. What?
- 39:05I'm. I'm done.
- 39:06What? SGA.
- 39:07Yeah, SGA is go ahead. Yeah, he's in front of him.
- 39:12What do you? Want to bite you?
- 39:13That's gonna bite. You mean it's gonna pull me?
- 39:15What do you mean it's gonna bite me?
- 39:17What does it matter what? I have to know my head.
- 39:20I gotta pull it. Here's a top five.
- 39:22He has a top five. What do you mean I'm looking?
- 39:25You pulled. How about this?
- 39:26No, I didn't. I didn't pull anything.
- 39:28So you just made it up out of top of your?
- 39:29Head. I know he's a top five defender.
- 39:31I know I, I don't know, get the producers to do it.
- 39:35What do you want me to do it for?
- 39:37I'm hosting a goddamn show. You're going to ask me to do it?
- 39:41I know he is. I know he is.
- 39:43I know he is. Anybody, any, all the fans, they
- 39:45want to look it up. Look it up.
- 39:47Right now. Donovan Mitchell is a top five
- 39:49defender at his position this year.
- 39:50It's not even an argument. He.
- 39:52Got worn down by double teams and he Knicks were smart in
- 39:55their game planning. There is a difference in how
- 39:57they adjusted to that. Jayden Brunson struggled when he
- 40:00had the 610 guy on him. But the 610 guy is not a great
- 40:03defender. He's just 610, you know what I
- 40:05mean? And that's what, and that's what
- 40:06the Knicks figured out. That's why they started doing
- 40:08the highball screens so that they can get him off of so Jalen
- 40:11could do his thing. And then in the second-half,
- 40:14they found James Harden everywhere.
- 40:16They it was like every highlight was like James Harden was
- 40:18getting scored. On that.
- 40:21You know you. Hate calling away from a good
- 40:22defender Down at. A high level for so long, but
- 40:25like to be honest it they literally took advantage of the
- 40:29weakness that they that they had in front of them and every time
- 40:31they found James. Let me before we move on to the
- 40:35Western Conference, I just wanted to say like one of the
- 40:37games within the games, you know that the coaches are doing,
- 40:39Kenny Atkinson came out ready for the Karl Anthony Towns point
- 40:42center stuff. They were they shut it down
- 40:44immediately. Towns turned the ball over 7
- 40:46times in the game because they did it from the high block and
- 40:49they put a smaller guy on Towns. I don't think there's.
- 40:51Any adjustments after when they started after the hack of Mitch
- 40:55and then they took Mitch out after that, he stopped making
- 40:57adjustments. It well, he they realized that
- 41:02they're not going to stop Brunson.
- 41:03So they went to the old Brunson offense when they couldn't do
- 41:06the, you know, the Karl Anthony Towns point center thing, but
- 41:09they did it from the top of the key.
- 41:10I was listening to a couple of guys and I said the same thing
- 41:13while we're watching him. This guy, he's got a six six guy
- 41:15on him. He had that that wing that they
- 41:17have the the Strusen, the other guy they throw at him.
- 41:20I think Strusen was on him for a little bit.
- 41:22And Wade is, well, they're a little undersized for guarding
- 41:25Towns and they could, he could just bring him to the to the
- 41:29post if he hasn't set. Up.
- 41:31Harden was on him four times and I thought he was going to post
- 41:34him up and he didn't. So just set him up and the low
- 41:37post the, you know, the low block instead of the high block
- 41:40and do the same stuff. And I'm pretty sure they're
- 41:42going to start doing that. And that was, you know, but it's
- 41:45really nice to see a coach. And you were mentioning earlier,
- 41:48Dickie, with Tom Thibodeau. Thibodeau didn't do anything
- 41:52other than just, you know, just put that offense out there and
- 41:55just run those guys and just try to out hustle people and there
- 41:58was no adjustments. Watching Brown coach this team
- 42:01and kind of tinkering with a lineup, as you guys mentioned
- 42:04and then go with the some of these different schematic
- 42:06things. It's kind of awesome to watch on
- 42:09top of having a guy like Brunson who can just dominate at the
- 42:11end. Man awesome.
- 42:12It's. Been crazy executive producers
- 42:14pulled up the top five and top ten shooting guards, and Donovan
- 42:18Mitchell isn't in either one of those guys.
- 42:20He is, he is. Yeah.
- 42:22You want me to give you the list?
- 42:23Can they put it up? Go ahead, you.
- 42:24Can pull it up, he is. He's a he's a Jason Daniels for
- 42:27the Hulse is #1 he's a top five defender.
- 42:30He's in Cancun 2. Derek White with Celtics was 3.
- 42:34Drew Holiday. Was in Cancun 2.
- 42:36Cason Wallace Five. Yeah.
- 42:38So yeah. How?
- 42:40What? How many of those guys are still
- 42:41still playing? Cool with it.
- 42:42I didn't say I'm just saying he was a good defender.
- 42:44I didn't say he was he. He went on to say he was the
- 42:46best. He's one of the best offenders
- 42:48at his position. No, we we covered it Q we
- 42:51covered it last year. He had an like an A really
- 42:53outstanding defensive season last year.
- 42:56But once they traded Hardin to him, the defense, you can't like
- 43:00hover up Hardin's defense if you're playing both of them at
- 43:03the top, you know, like, it's just really hard.
- 43:05You can do your responsibility. You can play your.
- 43:07Well, you want, you say that, but you know, Q as a, you know,
- 43:09as a football player, it's a lot easier to play tackle when you
- 43:12have a a stud nose right next to you as opposed to, you know, a
- 43:15guy who's average. It's still five across the
- 43:17board, so you still got to beat 1 somebody.
- 43:19You know I'm not wrong. You know you're eating more.
- 43:21If you got a better guy next to you, you know that's how it
- 43:23works. You still got to beat your one,
- 43:26so that's just. Right, you're right.
- 43:27I can't get excused because he get double teamed.
- 43:30I still got to beat by 1 and that's all I'm saying.
- 43:32I'm just saying it's easier to be good when you have good guys.
- 43:34I'm saying it's basketball so if Douglas Mitchell shut his bed
- 43:38down and James Harden get 8 alive like he did like game one,
- 43:41then it don't fall. It don't impact.
- 43:43James Harden always gets eaten up alive.
- 43:46Everywhere he's gone, he's been eaten up alive.
- 43:48I think his grandmother could probably pass on a basketball
- 43:51court. The guy stinks and he double
- 43:53dribbles all the time. He walks with the ball all the
- 43:56time. He steps back, which to me is
- 43:59illegal in in the NBA for many, many years.
- 44:02And how they they became it became legalizes because this is
- 44:05the LJA, the LeBron James association with the new rules
- 44:09and every single thing that LeBron James has brought to the
- 44:11game has been absolute garbage. It's not his step back.
- 44:14How is it LeBron James? LeBron James just created a
- 44:17completely different game. He did a border rule.
- 44:20Absolutely is. James Harden, Step back.
- 44:23Let's implement. Absolutely, Absolutely.
- 44:26LeBron James has done a lot of things.
- 44:28I mean, I'm nuts. LeBron James practically has 5
- 44:31or 6 steps all the way to the hoop with before he dribbles the
- 44:34ball and he. Yeah, because of LeBron James.
- 44:38It happened. It all started when LeBron
- 44:39James. Came to the league.
- 44:40No, here's here's why it happened.
- 44:42It's because they won't entertainment.
- 44:44They don't entertain them. So therefore there are we're
- 44:47going to. Send me stuff.
- 44:48That when we grew up, all wasn't allowed.
- 44:50It's because they have to make the game more entertaining, to
- 44:53sell more tickets, to get more. Okay, so let's just play I.
- 44:57Have noticed I have noticed a lot more travel calls in the
- 45:00playoffs than the regular season.
- 45:03Yeah, not with James Harden. It's like.
- 45:06Won a game instead of none. How would James Harden, Howard,
- 45:09James Harden, ladies and gentlemen.
- 45:11I mean, I've been watching the Cavaliers all throughout the
- 45:13playoffs. And how many times do we see him
- 45:15walk? Three times all the way to the
- 45:17hole? You can count it 123.
- 45:19We'll watch it tonight. Let's count how many times he
- 45:21goes to the hole and how many steps he makes.
- 45:24Oh, we could do Janet Burson. We could do everybody.
- 45:26Jaylen Bronson I don't know why you just trying to single out
- 45:28one person. Bronson.
- 45:29Everybody travels. No, he doesn't.
- 45:31There's no one person who. Doesn't, dude.
- 45:33He doesn't. I watch it.
- 45:34He doesn't not do that. Donovan Mitchell doesn't do that
- 45:37either. I watch it again.
- 45:39Crazy. I'm saying Donovan Mitchell
- 45:42especially to do that right. There.
- 45:43And he does. Donovan Mitchell does not double
- 45:46dribble like James Harden does. I didn't say it was that
- 45:48convention. I didn't say he did.
- 45:50What he did, he has a cat. His his like famous move is a is
- 45:53a giant carry that that high dribble going through the
- 45:57through through the defender like that.
- 45:59It's a camera doesn't see it. They don't ever call it he
- 46:01don't. Ever see that he didn't wear his
- 46:02glasses? I don't have to wear my glasses.
- 46:04I could tell you right now that James Harden is an absolute
- 46:06Walker and we might as well watch dodgeball.
- 46:10It. Should be dodgeball.
- 46:11It should be dodgeball with the basketball.
- 46:13Ladies and gentlemen, that's what we watch in the NBA.
- 46:16That's what it is. You can make as many steps as
- 46:18you possibly can and the referees just sit there.
- 46:24Let's go time out, let's challenge it.

- 49:20blazer being right near you. You stay away from the guy with
- 49:24the blue blazer. You know he might.
