- 0:04Don Armstrong: Welcome to In Wheel Time.
- 0:06Don Armstrong: Just ahead.
- 0:07Don Armstrong: Recalls.
- 0:08Don Armstrong: Guess what the auction car sold for?
- 0:11Don Armstrong: And Mike has a car review.
- 0:13Don Armstrong: Actually, it's a truck review, the hot-selling Ram 1500 pickup truck.
- 0:17Don Armstrong: Jeff has the cruise in and events calendars, plus this week's top automotive news stories.
- 0:22Don Armstrong: Howdy, along with Mike out of this world, Mars, we always need more Jeff Zeke.
- 0:26Don Armstrong: And Chief Engineer David Ainsley is listening, making sure that we're pressing all the right buttons and making sure we're not overdriving the audio.
- 0:35Don Armstrong: Pushing people's buttons alright.
- 0:36Don Armstrong: Yeah, and uh you know, he he'll find something wrong.
- 0:41Don Armstrong: I know, because he always does.
- 0:42Don Armstrong: I'm Don Armstrong complaining once again.
- 0:45Jeff Dziekan: The only button I can't find is the off button.
- 0:47Don Armstrong: Yeah, that's true.
- 0:48Don Armstrong: That's it.
- 0:49Don Armstrong: All right, so we're gonna start off uh this week's recalls.
- 0:52Don Armstrong: We got a few.
- 0:53Don Armstrong: Uh Ford Motor Company, the uh Yeah.
- 0:57Don Armstrong: No Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator 26 to 27.
- 1:00Don Armstrong: Driver's seat may recline unexpectedly.
- 1:03Don Armstrong: Martha?
- 1:04Don Armstrong: Martha.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: Martha!
- 1:08Don Armstrong: Yeah, that she's napping.
- 1:10Don Armstrong: Um, I think every Mercedes Benz that was built has been recalled.
- 1:16Don Armstrong: And I kid you not.
- 1:17Don Armstrong: Look, look at look at all it's gotta be 40 of them at least from 2021 to 2026.
- 1:27Don Armstrong: Yours is probably in this mix somewhere, so I would suggest that you go to safercard.org and uh or safercard.gov and uh find out.
- 1:37Don Armstrong: It's a roll away risk from a door switch failure.
- 1:41Don Armstrong: So if your Mercedes starts with an M, you're included.
- 1:44Don Armstrong: Yeah, pretty much that's it.
- 1:46Don Armstrong: All right.
- 1:47Don Armstrong: Um also, oh, let's go back to Ford.
- 1:49Don Armstrong: Okay.
- 1:49Don Armstrong: Uh Ford Mustang Mach E 23 to 25, window glass trim pieces may detach.
- 1:55Don Armstrong: Um, another Ford model, two of them.
- 1:58Don Armstrong: Ford F-150 and F-250, Super Duty 21 to 26, obstructed rear view camera image.
- 2:06Don Armstrong: I don't know, the gas tank lid is maybe hanging over the camera or something.
- 2:11Don Armstrong: I don't know.
- 2:13Don Armstrong: Uh and uh improperly secured ignition coil ground bolt on the Genesis G80 for 2027.
- 2:21Don Armstrong: Those are your recalls for this week.
- 2:22Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, not all of them are safety.
- 2:24Jeff Dziekan: No, some of them are just uh an update.
- 2:27Jeff Dziekan: Uh my car wants me to update it the monthly update.
- 2:31Jeff Dziekan: I keep putting it off, so I'll probably do it this afternoon.
- 2:33Mike Marrs: Secure a bolt.
- 2:34Don Armstrong: Well, yeah, tighten it up, I would imagine.
- 2:37Don Armstrong: Uh do the tighten up.
- 2:39Don Armstrong: You know how to do the tighten up, Mike.
- 2:40Don Armstrong: I've seen you on the dance floor before.
- 2:42Don Armstrong: You do it on one foot.
- 2:43Mike Marrs: I didn't know you secured a tightened up bolt.
- 2:46Mike Marrs: I was just curious.
- 2:47Don Armstrong: Well, put some glue on it or something.
- 2:48Don Armstrong: I torque it.
- 2:49Don Armstrong: All right, uh, time now for uh this hour's little game that we play once a week.
- 2:54Don Armstrong: And this would be what?
- 2:55Jeff Dziekan: I gotta get my thinking cap on.
- 2:58Don Armstrong: Yes, you do.
- 2:59Don Armstrong: I didn't believe here we go.
- 3:02Don Armstrong: So um uh you guess how much this car sold for on Hemings Sold Car Weekly Roundup.
- 3:09Don Armstrong: You ready?
- 3:10Don Armstrong: Here's our number one car for the week.
- 3:12Don Armstrong: It's a 1960 Ford Country Squire.
- 3:17Don Armstrong: How much did the 60 Ford Country Squire go for?
- 3:21Don Armstrong: Go.
- 3:24Don Armstrong: That's that's not it.
- 3:26Don Armstrong: That's last week.
- 3:26Mike Marrs: I know I'm I'm wondering what happened to the Ford Squire.
- 3:38Mike Marrs: Ford Squire.
- 3:39Jeff Dziekan: Talk amongst yourselves.
- 3:41Mike Marrs: Yeah, what's going on?
- 3:43unknown: Do we not have a carpet?
- 3:44Jeff Dziekan: He's he's searching.
- 3:45Mike Marrs: Now I think I must have loaded the wrong one.
- 3:48Jeff Dziekan: Uh-oh.
- 3:51Jeff Dziekan: Make something off, okay.
- 3:53Jeff Dziekan: I'm gonna go I'm gonna go uh uh 17.
- 3:58Jeff Dziekan: Sight unseen 17.
- 4:00Don Armstrong: Okay, well, we don't know what happened.
- 4:02Don Armstrong: Um we don't know what happened.
- 4:05Don Armstrong: I I had to uh check in a file.
- 4:07Don Armstrong: I had to I had to get up and let the dog uh in because she was barking outside, and so that's where I went.
- 4:14Don Armstrong: Anyway, so um the 60 Ford Country Squire sold for 28,875, and it is a very nice example of one that you would have gone in 1960 and bought right off the showroom floor.
- 4:27Don Armstrong: Not wide whites, but it did have white wall tires on it and had the uh actual wonderful uh wood siding down the side of it.
- 4:36Don Armstrong: So, Mr.
- 4:36Don Armstrong: Morris, uh he's working on it.
- 4:38Don Armstrong: Oh, you're still working on it?
- 4:39Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, okay.
- 4:41Don Armstrong: Anyway, number car number two is a 2013 Chevrolet Corvette.
- 4:47Don Armstrong: This would be a C6.
- 4:50Don Armstrong: Um and uh it uh is a black on black, it appears.
- 4:55Don Armstrong: It uh is not a convertible, it is a coupé, and I don't know if it's anything special about it.
- 5:00Don Armstrong: That's a file that we can't seem to find.
- 5:03Don Armstrong: Okay, well, what's special about it is I'm gonna go 31.
- 5:05Don Armstrong: 31.
- 5:06Don Armstrong: Anybody else is going to uh we uh well we can't we can't pull any of that stuff up.
- 5:11Don Armstrong: So anyway, uh we're going to continue to move on with this.
- 5:15Don Armstrong: The 2013 Chevrolet Corvette sold for 26 250.
- 5:20Don Armstrong: Not a bad price.
- 5:21Don Armstrong: Next up, a 2008 Ford Mustang.
- 5:24Don Armstrong: Um, this is a convertible and it looks like it's got some speed equipment on it there.
- 5:29Don Armstrong: I'll hook cover it with the price up.
- 5:31Don Armstrong: It's got some mods.
- 5:32Don Armstrong: Yeah, it's got some mods to it.
- 5:33Don Armstrong: Um, and I don't know whether that's a factory mods, but it does have a loop roll bar in it.
- 5:39Jeff Dziekan: And uh so I would imagine that's 26,000 and not a penny more.
- 5:43Don Armstrong: 26,000.
- 5:44Don Armstrong: Well, it sold for 29,190.
- 5:47Don Armstrong: I'm only giving 26.
- 5:50Don Armstrong: Okay.
- 5:51Don Armstrong: Well, you're in the ballpark anyway.
- 5:53Don Armstrong: Uh, car number four is a 1991 Cadillac El Dorado.
- 5:57Don Armstrong: God, I I love that 20.
- 5:59Don Armstrong: I love that Cadillac El Dorado look.
- 6:02Don Armstrong: Can you see it there?
- 6:03Don Armstrong: Oh, yeah, gorgeous.
- 6:04Don Armstrong: Black, two-door, just stately looking for the man about 91.
- 6:09Don Armstrong: I'm gonna go 14.
- 6:10Don Armstrong: 14.
- 6:11Don Armstrong: Sold for eight.
- 6:13unknown: Okay.
- 6:13Don Armstrong: $8,000.
- 6:15Don Armstrong: That's I know that was that's a deal.
- 6:18Don Armstrong: Because it looks clean and it looks original.
- 6:20Don Armstrong: It's a good one.
- 6:21Don Armstrong: All right, 2011 Chevy Camaro.
- 6:23Don Armstrong: This thing is that horrible green color.
- 6:26Don Armstrong: And if you have that color, I'm so sorry for you.
- 6:30Don Armstrong: Todd Armstrong is not into green color.
- 6:34Don Armstrong: 2011.
- 6:35Don Armstrong: I'm gonna go uh now.
- 6:37Don Armstrong: Mind you, that that car is 15 years old.
- 6:39Don Armstrong: No, uh, no, it's five years old.
- 6:41Don Armstrong: Five years old.
- 6:42Don Armstrong: I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go 17.
- 6:44Don Armstrong: 17?
- 6:45Don Armstrong: Sold for 22,785.
- 6:48Don Armstrong: Okay.
- 6:48Don Armstrong: That's a little steep for me.
- 6:49Don Armstrong: Yeah, 17 is better.
- 6:51Don Armstrong: Uh next up, this is for you, Jeff.
- 6:54Don Armstrong: 1972.
- 6:55Don Armstrong: All right, Pontiac Star Chief.
- 6:58Don Armstrong: Oh, it's a wagon.
- 7:00Don Armstrong: Yeah, the Star Chief wagon.
- 7:03Don Armstrong: Now it does have aftermarket wheels on it, but it which I would have taken off and put some stocks on it.
- 7:08Don Armstrong: It's not a star it's not a Vista Cruiser.
- 7:10Don Armstrong: No.
- 7:10Don Armstrong: Um Star Chief.
- 7:12Don Armstrong: No, this is a Star Chief.
- 7:13Jeff Dziekan: Star Chief, okay.
- 7:14Jeff Dziekan: Not a Vista Cruiser.
- 7:15Jeff Dziekan: 72.
- 7:16Jeff Dziekan: I'm gonna go nine grand.
- 7:18Jeff Dziekan: Really?
- 7:19Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, I want it.
- 7:20Don Armstrong: Well, you're not gonna get it because it's sold for$30,000.
- 7:26Jeff Dziekan: Let me see.
- 7:30unknown: No way.
- 7:31Jeff Dziekan: Come on, I ain't lying.
- 7:33Jeff Dziekan: There's the price.
- 7:34Jeff Dziekan: No, but that's not an original color either.
- 7:35Jeff Dziekan: I don't know.
- 7:36Jeff Dziekan: It doesn't look like one.
- 7:37Jeff Dziekan: Well, I that I don't know.
- 7:39Jeff Dziekan: I throw a flag on that one.
- 7:40Don Armstrong: Okay, do that.
- 7:42Don Armstrong: Next up is a 1966 Chevy Corvette convertible.
- 7:46Don Armstrong: And for some reason, these cars are hot, and I don't understand why.
- 7:50Don Armstrong: I actually owned one, a 65.
- 7:53Don Armstrong: 66.
- 7:54Don Armstrong: Uh, and it was a car that a buddy of mine at Richardson Chevrolet, we were flipping.
- 8:00Don Armstrong: And um, it was okay.
- 8:01Don Armstrong: Route.
- 8:02Don Armstrong: It had been it had been rode hard and put up wet, but we got a new paint job put on it, and I cleaned up the interior.
- 8:09Don Armstrong: 27.
- 8:10Don Armstrong: 27, new.
- 8:11Don Armstrong: How about 62,000?
- 8:14Jeff Dziekan: All right.
- 8:14Don Armstrong: Well, and finally, is the 1964 Plymouth Fury.
- 8:22Don Armstrong: Is that what we have on the air right now?
- 8:23Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 8:24Don Armstrong: Why why don't we have us up there?
- 8:27Don Armstrong: Can you can you can you can you expand us and put us up there?
- 8:30Don Armstrong: At least give them something uglier than that thing to look at.
- 8:34Don Armstrong: There you go.
- 8:34Don Armstrong: Just do that.
- 8:35Don Armstrong: We'll do that.
- 8:36Don Armstrong: All right.
- 8:37unknown: Yeah.
- 8:38Jeff Dziekan: No, he's going back to it.
- 8:39Don Armstrong: Okay, whatever.
- 8:40Don Armstrong: Uh 64 Plymouth Fury.
- 8:43Don Armstrong: Umternut yellow.
- 8:46Don Armstrong: Oh, yeah.
- 8:47Don Armstrong: Um, it probably has a V8 in it.
- 8:50Don Armstrong: Uh, nothing nothing spectacular looking about it.
- 8:53Don Armstrong: It's clean.
- 8:54Don Armstrong: 26.
- 8:55Don Armstrong: 21.
- 8:56Don Armstrong: Sold for 21,000.
- 8:59Don Armstrong: Right there.
- 9:01unknown: Oh, yeah.
- 9:02Don Armstrong: That light.
- 9:02Jeff Dziekan: It's a driver.
- 9:03Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, I'd drive it.
- 9:04Don Armstrong: I'd drive any of them.
- 9:05Don Armstrong: 21,000.
- 9:07Don Armstrong: All right.
- 9:07Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 9:08Don Armstrong: Well, um, I don't know where Mr.
- 9:09Don Armstrong: Morris has gone.
- 9:10Don Armstrong: Oh, there he is.
- 9:11Don Armstrong: Mr.
- 9:11Mike Marrs: Morris, I so you could see what I was doing off camera?
- 9:14Jeff Dziekan: No, no.
- 9:15Jeff Dziekan: Oh, that whatever screen, the black screen you had, yeah, it was up on the yeah, the media thing, whatever you had.
- 9:21Mike Marrs: My bad.
- 9:21Mike Marrs: I thought with me being off camera, I was off off.
- 9:24Don Armstrong: No, you weren't.
- 9:25Mike Marrs: Sorry.
- 9:25Mike Marrs: That's okay.
- 9:26Don Armstrong: All right.
- 9:26Don Armstrong: So, Mr.
- 9:27Don Armstrong: Morris, if if you don't have enough to do, now you now now we're going to give you something to do because it's it allowed time for you to do your uh review of the 2015, I'm sorry, the 2026 Ram 1500.
- 9:40Mike Marrs: Yeah, 2015 is what we got.
- 9:43Don Armstrong: That's what you got, yeah.
- 9:45Mike Marrs: All right, so this is the 2015 Ram 1500.
- 9:48Don Armstrong: No, it's the 2026.
- 9:50Mike Marrs: 26.
- 9:51Mike Marrs: You know what?
- 9:52Mike Marrs: I wrote down 2015.
- 9:54Mike Marrs: That's just exactly like you said.
- 9:56Mike Marrs: All right.
- 9:57Mike Marrs: I have since corrected that.
- 9:59Mike Marrs: Here we go.
- 10:01Mike Marrs: 2026 Ram 1500 long hand longhorn crew cab four by four.
- 10:07Mike Marrs: Now, the final assembly point for this is actually in Sterling Heights, Michigan, although they bring a lot of parts in from all over the world.
- 10:14Mike Marrs: There are 10 available trim levels, not gonna go through all of them.
- 10:17Mike Marrs: They run from the tradesman up to the tungsten top of the line.
- 10:21Mike Marrs: The Longhorn is somewhere in the mid-range there.
- 10:24Mike Marrs: They do have three different med links you can get on this vehicle, and uh it is a full-size pickup with seating for five.
- 10:31Mike Marrs: Now, this is uh it's on the outside of it, you're gonna find you got full LED lighting all around.
- 10:37Mike Marrs: The headlights, taillights, all the uh courtesy lights are.
- 10:40Mike Marrs: You got tow hooks on it, you got power deploy running boards, and I really like the running boards on these with the height of this truck, it fit really well to use them.
- 10:51Mike Marrs: It wasn't something that was awkward.
- 10:54Don Armstrong: It also has the old man, yeah, yeah.
- 10:59Mike Marrs: The old man steps is what they are, and they felt good.
- 11:01Mike Marrs: Exactly right.
- 11:02Mike Marrs: And it also had a bed step for the old man that was nice to have.
- 11:06Mike Marrs: It had the trifold tonneau cover on it, and it's got long hoard badging, of course, all the way around it, rolling on some 20 by 9 inch polished wheels that are nice looking wheels, makes for a nice combination for this color.
- 11:18Mike Marrs: The inside of it's got leather seating all the way around with real wood trim on it.
- 11:23Mike Marrs: Now the front seats got massaging, they're heated and they're ventilated.
- 11:29Mike Marrs: The second row is also heated and ventilated seating, although they don't have the massaging portion of it, which I don't care as long as I got it up front.
- 11:37Mike Marrs: Now it's got the wireless charging on it, it's got heads-up display, it's got UConnect 5.0 with a 12-inch touch screen.
- 11:44Mike Marrs: Uh even the front passenger has an interactive display in this particular vehicle.
- 11:49Mike Marrs: So there's a lot of technology in here, including an 18-speaker Harden Carmen premium sound system, and you also have the surround view camera, so you can see it, you can hear it, you can feel it on this vehicle.
- 12:04Mike Marrs: The drivetrain.
- 12:06Mike Marrs: Now we had the 3.0 liter inline six hurricane HO.
- 12:11Mike Marrs: Now, this is the twin turbo engine on this thing.
- 12:14Mike Marrs: Uh, I first time I'd ever driven one of them.
- 12:16Mike Marrs: I've heard a couple of people talking about them.
- 12:18Mike Marrs: They have the uh they don't have the HO, so this is kind of unique in that it's got 540 horsepower.
- 12:25Mike Marrs: 521 pound feet of torque.
- 12:28Mike Marrs: The tow rating is 10,000 pounds, the tall rating is 1490 pounds.
- 12:33Mike Marrs: Now, I was a little surprised.
- 12:34Mike Marrs: I was really interested in driving this vehicle, like I said, because going from the 5'7 Hemi that I've got in the truck versus this, um, I will tell you I felt like there was a lot of the difference driving around town.
- 12:46Mike Marrs: This is a lot this is Hurricane is a lot more refined.
- 12:50Mike Marrs: But I will also tell you, you get up around highway speeds and you want to do a high-speed passing maneuver, this thing will get up and haul the donkey on you real quick, real fast in a hurry.
- 13:00Mike Marrs: However, the EPA says you should be looking for in the city about 15 miles to the gallon, highway 21, combined 17.
- 13:08Mike Marrs: Now, I only had the chance to drive this vehicle 154 miles, but I got 16.1, 16.9 miles across that range.
- 13:17Mike Marrs: It's really nice ride.
- 13:18Mike Marrs: It's a really nice handling vehicle.
- 13:20Mike Marrs: It's got the five-link suspension with active leveling air suspension on it.
- 13:24Mike Marrs: And then you can also have a manual ride height to where you can lower it down to get in and out of it a little bit easier.
- 13:30Mike Marrs: You're going off-road since it is a 4x4.
- 13:32Mike Marrs: You want to raise it up, you can do that.
- 13:34Mike Marrs: And it's just really smooth on the road with lots of rolling power, like I said, up at highway speeds.
- 13:40Mike Marrs: Now, the base trim price on this vehicle is$76,405.
- 13:45Mike Marrs: As tested,$86,090.
- 13:49Mike Marrs: Now, you can get in a base model, tradesman, for$47,120.
- 13:54Mike Marrs: So you look across the board at the GMC 1500 crew cab 4x4 in the base model$46,995.
- 14:01Mike Marrs: The Silverado Cousin, uh, same thing, crew cab 4x4 is at$46,000.
- 14:06Mike Marrs: Even the Ford F-150 Crew Cab 4x4 will start you out at 467.
- 14:11Mike Marrs: So they're all right there in that same range.
- 14:13Mike Marrs: Then it just depends on how much you want to upgrade, how much you want to gussy it up from there.
- 14:20SPEAKER_01: I need to know where I can buy my$20,000 work truck.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: That why wouldn't that I got my eyes on with the hoodie caps on it?
- 14:28Mike Marrs: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 14:29Mike Marrs: Billy Bobs used cars right down the street.
- 14:33Jeff Dziekan: So does Becky want one?
- 14:37Jeff Dziekan: Did she even ride in it?
- 14:38Mike Marrs: Yeah, oh yeah.
- 14:39Mike Marrs: She liked it.
- 14:40Mike Marrs: I mean, you know, the leather and the wood.
- 14:42Mike Marrs: I mean, it's what's not to like about it.
- 14:44Mike Marrs: Um it's just the uh$3,000 price tag, is what she kind of looked at.
- 14:50Don Armstrong: How about that seven-year note, huh?
- 14:52Don Armstrong: How about that?
- 14:53Don Armstrong: All right, coming up, Jeff has the cruise in and events calendars, and I'll have the stories making automotive muse headlines this week.
