- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hey guys, it's the Almost said Is podcast and we
- 0:08Speaker 2: are back with another recap of the new hd TV
- 0:11Speaker 2: show Bachelor Mansion Takeover. This time, the contestants made over
- 0:15Speaker 2: the Rose Room. I am here with Heather this week
- 0:19Speaker 2: to recap this show. You guys know is our producer
- 0:23Speaker 2: and let's get to it. Yeather. So in episode two,
- 0:27Speaker 2: first we had the elimination that started last week. The
- 0:30Speaker 2: guys had to eliminate somebody from their team. Yep, Ben
- 0:35Speaker 2: did not predict it was going to be Chris. Who
- 0:37Speaker 2: do you remember what Ben predicted it was gonna because
- 0:39Speaker 2: I predicted it would be Chris.
- 0:41Speaker 3: I think that he said Sam.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Oh, Sam, Okay, it could have been Sam.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Because he thought Sam was like being a little quiet.
- 0:49Speaker 2: I think Sam is still being a little quiet, Yeah.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Because I think Sam's just like, I'm here to do
- 0:55Speaker 4: renovations and I was on paradise for five seconds.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you just happy to be there exactly
- 1:02Speaker 2: like whatever, let me be here longest, like no drama,
- 1:05Speaker 2: like no big opinions, because in this episode we see
- 1:08Speaker 2: that it's kind of having more opinions means having more
- 1:14Speaker 2: hostility exactly.
- 1:17Speaker 3: And I also think that there's two.
- 1:22Speaker 4: Very big personalities that keep having to be working together
- 1:26Speaker 4: on this show.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Okay, so Jill has the biggest personality and she's super
- 1:31Speaker 2: opinionated and she can't hide anything like she says. And
- 1:34Speaker 2: then Alisha was her sort of enemy on Paradise, although
- 1:39Speaker 2: it was very brief, and the two of them just
- 1:42Speaker 2: can't seem to be getting along. But it also seems
- 1:45Speaker 2: like next week Alisha is paired with Courtney and she's
- 1:50Speaker 2: not gonna like her then. So who's the problem. I
- 1:53Speaker 2: don't know, but I will say that, like when you're
- 1:56Speaker 2: dealing with design stuff, it's really like all about just
- 2:02Speaker 2: the way that you see. It's so subjective and you
- 2:07Speaker 2: and if you're like me, you get like really stuck
- 2:10Speaker 2: on an idea. Like I mentioned this before. But Jared
- 2:14Speaker 2: and I will get into our bigger fights. We don't.
- 2:18Speaker 2: We'll bicker a lot when it comes to decorating and
- 2:21Speaker 2: hanging things on the wall because I need it to
- 2:24Speaker 2: be just my way or it will irk me, like
- 2:28Speaker 2: it will send I can't do it, like I'm gonna
- 2:31Speaker 2: have to live with this and I need it to
- 2:32Speaker 2: be my way.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Are you talking about in terms of like straight and
- 2:37Speaker 3: level or are you talking about overall esthetics? You have
- 2:40Speaker 3: to have a way.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Straight and level, which he won't like He's not one
- 2:45Speaker 2: to like level or measure. He'll just kind of like
- 2:47Speaker 2: eyeball it. And I very much needed to be smack
- 2:50Speaker 2: center or like whatever way that I'm looking at.
- 2:53Speaker 3: It, and.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Just he like do something and he'll put something somewhere
- 3:00Speaker 2: and he'll be like that looks good, and I'll be like,
- 3:02Speaker 2: the design of that is it's it's probably fine to
- 3:04Speaker 2: your average person, but me needing everything to be just
- 3:09Speaker 2: so and being like very type A when it comes
- 3:11Speaker 2: to a guess design, which is super silly for me
- 3:16Speaker 2: to say, because like here I am and like a
- 3:18Speaker 2: stained sweatshirt and like having toys all over the room.
- 3:22Speaker 2: There's something about like when you're decorating with purpose and
- 3:26Speaker 2: that's outside decorating with motherhood attached. I just need it
- 3:32Speaker 2: to be the way I envisioned it.
- 3:34Speaker 4: I think also right our home is like a sanctuary space,
- 3:38Speaker 4: and so if you see when you're trying to relax
- 3:41Speaker 4: and you see imperfections, it becomes unrelaxing in the environment.
- 3:46Speaker 3: So I get it.
- 3:47Speaker 4: Maybe have you ever tried hiring like a handyman and
- 3:51Speaker 4: like just yeah, okay, and seeing.
- 3:56Speaker 2: His thing will be like, I'm the man, I should
- 3:59Speaker 2: do these things, so you shouldn't have to hire someone.
- 4:02Speaker 2: And I'm like, but then we're just gonna argue. It's
- 4:05Speaker 2: really like our only tension point. I truly dread decorating
- 4:10Speaker 2: a home that's more of like our forever home in
- 4:12Speaker 2: the future, where it's a lot more like thought and effort.
- 4:16Speaker 2: But anyway, if that's our biggest issue, that's probably a blessing.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:20Speaker 2: I guess this Going back to Alisha, she just I
- 4:24Speaker 2: understand and Jill, if somebody's not seen your vision, I
- 4:29Speaker 2: understand the pain and the frustration it'll cause with the
- 4:32Speaker 2: other person.
- 4:33Speaker 4: Well, can I tell you this whole show reminds me
- 4:36Speaker 4: of like being in group projects at school. Yeah, you know,
- 4:41Speaker 4: when you just get randomly assigned and you're like, this
- 4:44Speaker 4: is your group, and it's like everybody's just got a
- 4:47Speaker 4: different take. It's like for me, whenever I was in
- 4:49Speaker 4: those situations, I was always like, Okay, I guess I'm
- 4:52Speaker 4: going to be the leader. I guess I'm gonna do
- 4:53Speaker 4: this now because I couldn't handle sitting back and like
- 4:57Speaker 4: just like expecting everybody in the group to like do
- 5:01Speaker 4: their part. Dean in this episode, I felt like had
- 5:04Speaker 4: less of stronger opinions this time than he did last
- 5:08Speaker 4: week with the blue ceiling.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Okay, I can relate to this as well, Like sometimes
- 5:13Speaker 2: you're given a project where you truly don't care if
- 5:16Speaker 2: somebody takes the lead on it, but if it's something
- 5:19Speaker 2: that you're invested in, passionate about, then you just can't
- 5:21Speaker 2: let yourself not be the leader, right, I think this
- 5:24Speaker 2: is natural.
- 5:25Speaker 3: I get that. So so going back, so Chris was eliminated.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Chris is eliminated. So we're just going on a tangent here.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Chris is eliminated, and Jill particularly is disappointed in this.
- 5:38Speaker 2: A lot of the girls were like, he like had
- 5:40Speaker 2: real tangible skills, Like what were you guys thinking about
- 5:42Speaker 2: eliminating him? There's some speculation to like maybe they were
- 5:46Speaker 2: trying to get somebody who really had skills out of
- 5:50Speaker 2: the competition. My theory is that the guys just kind
- 5:53Speaker 2: of broke out and they're just like, who doesn't fit
- 5:56Speaker 2: with us? And it's the Chris because he's older.
- 5:59Speaker 3: One hundred percent.
- 6:00Speaker 4: That's why the Goldens are just literally being targeted because
- 6:03Speaker 4: they're old. And I'm sorry that is a little bit
- 6:07Speaker 4: ageous feeling. I'm not vibing with it. Second of all,
- 6:11Speaker 4: I just have to say I hate the elimination element
- 6:14Speaker 4: of the show.
- 6:15Speaker 3: I'm sorry, guys, I'm not interested in it.
- 6:17Speaker 4: I feel like the cast was small enough that I
- 6:19Speaker 4: don't need to see people getting eliminated. And I think
- 6:22Speaker 4: that you can determine a winner in a competition contest
- 6:26Speaker 4: with a point system and you don't absolutely pull off
- 6:29Speaker 4: every single.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Absolutely so at the end of the show.
- 6:34Speaker 4: It adds a bummer layer to every episode that I'm
- 6:37Speaker 4: just like, it brings the energy down, like I'd rather
- 6:40Speaker 4: see I don't know more Wayfair furniture than like watching product.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Place and shots are hilarious. They're so obvious.
- 6:49Speaker 4: They're very excited about that Wayfair truck whenever its but
- 6:52Speaker 4: I would be.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Very excited about it wear for a truck coming up
- 6:54Speaker 2: to my house too. I just I do love my
- 6:56Speaker 2: hair Fair. So I think that your right point system
- 7:01Speaker 2: where they could be like, oh, you know, your first,
- 7:04Speaker 2: second or third place that week, and then like you're
- 7:06Speaker 2: giving a point and at the end of it, whoever
- 7:08Speaker 2: team has the most points is the team that wins.
- 7:11Speaker 2: I guess that they probably thought it's the bachelor. There
- 7:14Speaker 2: has to be eliminations, and like that's just the stake
- 7:16Speaker 2: that we go with. But yeah, it's totally unnecessary.
- 7:20Speaker 4: It's so off to me, and I really don't like it.
- 7:23Speaker 4: And I feel like these people are not getting enough
- 7:26Speaker 4: time on this show to show what they can do
- 7:30Speaker 4: and also enough time to like make bad design choices
- 7:35Speaker 4: or do something wrong, you know what I mean, Like
- 7:37Speaker 4: everything is just happening so fast and we're just like
- 7:40Speaker 4: losing people so quickly that I'm just like, I.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Don't, I don't. It's not vibing with me. The elimination element.
- 7:48Speaker 2: It's the double edged sword though, where it's like, are
- 7:51Speaker 2: we gonna have the least qualified person around at the
- 7:53Speaker 2: end just because they got along with people, or.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Are we just having the carpenters from the show making everything.
- 7:59Speaker 2: I know exactly? Like is this just a contest of
- 8:02Speaker 2: somebody that has a good design eye, because if this
- 8:05Speaker 2: is a design show, then that's a design show, not
- 8:09Speaker 2: a constructing show. And it just doesn't seem like they
- 8:13Speaker 2: did the math right on how to figure out who's
- 8:17Speaker 2: the winner here.
- 8:17Speaker 4: It definitely feels like there's elements missing of like what's
- 8:21Speaker 4: our overall goal. I think it also goes back to
- 8:24Speaker 4: like what Ben and you were discussing in last week's
- 8:26Speaker 4: episode of like why are.
- 8:28Speaker 3: We doing this?
- 8:29Speaker 4: Is this getting turned into like an airbnb? Like these
- 8:33Speaker 4: rooms are not like super functional either, Like, hello, they
- 8:37Speaker 4: just put all that furniture in the Rose room, which
- 8:39Speaker 4: we know is going to get taken.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Out because it can't be used for filming.
- 8:43Speaker 2: We do have furniture in the Roads room. They totally
- 8:45Speaker 2: flip it during the night. Oh yeah, So like there's
- 8:50Speaker 2: a certain point of the night where you don't go
- 8:52Speaker 2: into the Rose room because they take the furniture out
- 8:54Speaker 2: and then they put the step stool, you know, the
- 8:57Speaker 2: step thing he's in the risers.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Okay, So I had no idea.
- 9:01Speaker 4: I thought you guys were always when you were congregating,
- 9:03Speaker 4: were hanging out in like another room, like a living room.
- 9:07Speaker 2: There is a living room, okay, especially like on Night one,
- 9:11Speaker 2: the Bachelor will take people into the Rose room that
- 9:15Speaker 2: has it looks just like a family room with couches
- 9:18Speaker 2: in the fireplace and all of that. So yeah, it's
- 9:22Speaker 2: a fully functional room. That we hang out in very often,
- 9:25Speaker 2: almost as much as the quote family room.
- 9:28Speaker 4: When we were seeing highlights of the Rose Room before
- 9:31Speaker 4: they started doing their work on it, they showed the
- 9:35Speaker 4: shots of years past. Do you remember what color the
- 9:38Speaker 4: Rose Room was on your season?
- 9:41Speaker 2: I don't, but should I look it up now? I
- 9:42Speaker 2: saw that you wrote that and I was like, how
- 9:44Speaker 2: am I look at this up?
- 9:45Speaker 4: I was looking at it and I actually kind of
- 9:48Speaker 4: liked the shots where it was green.
- 9:50Speaker 2: I love green, like emerald deep green is one of
- 9:54Speaker 2: my favorites.
- 9:55Speaker 4: I thought it really popped on camera and I was like, wow,
- 9:58Speaker 4: this actually looks kind of There were.
- 10:00Speaker 3: I think Jones season.
- 10:03Speaker 4: I wasn't really a fan of the shots that they
- 10:05Speaker 4: were showing of it, but I remember, I think it
- 10:07Speaker 4: was Brad Womack's season it was green, and I was like, WHOA,
- 10:10Speaker 4: this kind of looks cool.
- 10:12Speaker 2: I think about this often, And when I say often,
- 10:14Speaker 2: I mean like a few times a year about how
- 10:17Speaker 2: many coats of paint have been on this wall and
- 10:20Speaker 2: how many times a year it gets painted? Like how
- 10:22Speaker 2: is this not chipping off? Do they stand it out?
- 10:25Speaker 3: Like?
- 10:25Speaker 2: What do they do that? You know what they should do?
- 10:28Speaker 2: Like a pop up music video where at the bottom
- 10:32Speaker 2: it's like fun facts about the room. Yes, so look,
- 10:36Speaker 2: mine was like a deep it looks purple on FaceTime,
- 10:39Speaker 2: but it's not purple. It's a deep blue. It's very
- 10:42Speaker 2: reminiscent in my bedroom color. It's crazy. Oh it must
- 10:46Speaker 2: have been subconscious.
- 10:49Speaker 3: I love that well.
- 10:50Speaker 4: I think when I see pictures and videos of the mansion,
- 10:55Speaker 4: For anybody listening that's ever been to Lisa vander Pump's
- 10:59Speaker 4: Sir in West Hollywood, that is what I feel like.
- 11:02Speaker 4: The inside of Sir is what I feel like the
- 11:05Speaker 4: mansion looks like. For those that haven't been to surr
- 11:08Speaker 4: in a minute, it's a little dusty, it's a little crusty.
- 11:11Speaker 4: It's a little bit like Peer one imports from like
- 11:15Speaker 4: two thousand. It's like there's a little bit of that
- 11:18Speaker 4: going on. And that's what I feel like is the
- 11:20Speaker 4: mansion as well. That's actually so true.
- 11:23Speaker 2: And it was during this episode that I started looking
- 11:27Speaker 2: at it more in the way that you and Ben do,
- 11:30Speaker 2: where I'm like, oh, wait, this does look kind of
- 11:34Speaker 2: like all and like some of the things don't look
- 11:36Speaker 2: as expensive as they are.
- 11:38Speaker 4: Oh, we're gonna get into it when we start talking
- 11:40Speaker 4: about the bar makeover.
- 11:43Speaker 2: That's the part that I was looking at, like the
- 11:45Speaker 2: actual formation of the bar, like the wood like. I
- 11:48Speaker 2: was like, the woodwork doesn't look very nice. It looks
- 11:51Speaker 2: like cheap, but I know it's super heavy.
- 11:54Speaker 3: I know, well, we'll get into this.
- 11:56Speaker 4: So after Chris is eliminated, the next day, Jesse comes
- 12:00Speaker 4: out to tell them what the challenge is going to
- 12:03Speaker 4: be about renovating the rose room.
- 12:05Speaker 3: And that's when we see the.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Different zones that everybody's going to be doing, which I'd
- 12:11Speaker 4: like to know your opinion on these zones. But one
- 12:13Speaker 4: is called the living space, one is called the candle room,
- 12:16Speaker 4: and one is called the bar and wine cellar. I'm
- 12:18Speaker 4: going to say that the word cellar is a little generous.
- 12:21Speaker 4: It is a wine rack.
- 12:24Speaker 2: It's interesting that they didn't kind of show a big
- 12:27Speaker 2: zoom out of the room to be like this is
- 12:30Speaker 2: where this is. Like, let's give you guys some perspective here,
- 12:33Speaker 2: this is where you stand when you do this. This
- 12:36Speaker 2: is what because all of it is in the same room.
- 12:39Speaker 4: That's why I think they didn't give you a wine shot,
- 12:41Speaker 4: because you'd be like, I could be touching my person.
- 12:45Speaker 3: I'm competing against I know.
- 12:47Speaker 2: I was like, are they all in there together? They
- 12:50Speaker 2: have certain times the day, and also, how are you
- 12:53Speaker 2: doing three separate parts of the same room without working
- 12:55Speaker 2: together as a whole to make sure it was cohesive.
- 12:59Speaker 4: I think we saw on the end how uncohesive it looked.
- 13:03Speaker 4: I don't know, I just I was like, okay, okay,
- 13:08Speaker 4: so we should say who was on each o.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Yes, So Ali, Yisha, Jill and Dean are in the
- 13:12Speaker 2: living space, which is like the you know, the main area,
- 13:17Speaker 2: and then the other two have little side portions of
- 13:20Speaker 2: the room as Joan and Courtney and Sam are in
- 13:23Speaker 2: the candle room, which is really just like a candle again,
- 13:26Speaker 2: candle space. It's a wall in the room that there's
- 13:31Speaker 2: like a little bit it's like a nook. Okay, it's
- 13:33Speaker 2: a nook. It definitely looks like a nook. Could have
- 13:35Speaker 2: said the candlenook. And then it's again the Tam Tammy.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Noah and Brandon are in the bar and wine cellar,
- 13:44Speaker 2: but it's more of like the the bar nook and
- 13:48Speaker 2: it's like just the bar in the same room, so.
- 13:51Speaker 4: You can't call it a cellar when it's literally a
- 13:54Speaker 4: wine rock behind glass, like there's nothing to step into.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Yeah, so true. So they also have to incorporate the
- 14:04Speaker 2: essence of a rose somewhere in their design. They have
- 14:08Speaker 2: forty five minutes of design to decide on a design plan,
- 14:12Speaker 2: and then whoever wins this challenge again like last week,
- 14:16Speaker 2: will be the team is free from elimination. If you
- 14:19Speaker 2: ever wins, will then decide who is up for elimination.
- 14:24Speaker 2: That is what we know so far. Does change a
- 14:28Speaker 2: little bit as it goes on.
- 14:30Speaker 3: Well, I don't like this element either, by the way.
- 14:32Speaker 2: So the way that they had the challenge that then
- 14:34Speaker 2: determines who in the actual team is going to do
- 14:37Speaker 2: the eliminating.
- 14:38Speaker 4: I don't like teammates having to say who's up for elimination.
- 14:42Speaker 4: The only time I like that element is if it's
- 14:45Speaker 4: something super serious like Survivor or on the opposite end
- 14:50Speaker 4: of the spectrum, Love Island. I absolutely love when they
- 14:53Speaker 4: introduce that on Love Island because it's it's so emotional
- 14:58Speaker 4: for them because they will kick off somebody usually that's
- 15:01Speaker 4: dating somebody else that they're keeping, and it's very emotional.
- 15:04Speaker 3: But for this, I'm like.
- 15:06Speaker 4: There's like five of you, Like there's like there's nine
- 15:11Speaker 4: cast members that we're dealing with it's not a big
- 15:13Speaker 4: group of people.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Yes, totally. So let's talk about this bar and wine cellar.
- 15:30Speaker 2: They want to go dark and moody, and they want
- 15:32Speaker 2: to incorporate arches, and I love arches. But they're like
- 15:37Speaker 2: looking at the arches in the room and I'm like, guys,
- 15:39Speaker 2: I think we're already arch happy in the room.
- 15:41Speaker 3: How about how they said arches. So they said arches.
- 15:44Speaker 3: The other team said arches. I literally thought when I
- 15:47Speaker 3: was watching it, I go okay.
- 15:48Speaker 4: So producers walked up to them and said, guys, you
- 15:51Speaker 4: have to say arches.
- 15:52Speaker 3: You have to do something.
- 15:54Speaker 2: You also mentioned that they said the Roman clay a lot.
- 15:58Speaker 4: Why, like it was said so many times. I was like,
- 16:01Speaker 4: I should have been keeping count.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Okay. So in the candle room, they are also wanting
- 16:08Speaker 2: to incorporate arches. They're doing a tile on the wall,
- 16:12Speaker 2: and they wanted to be more functional while still intimate.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Now I'm not sure what that means, except for they
- 16:19Speaker 2: wanted to put stuff on the shelves, like as if
- 16:22Speaker 2: it could also be like a bookshelf or something. But
- 16:24Speaker 2: you know, also we're making fun of everything. But that's
- 16:28Speaker 2: just what we do here on our recaps. Also, it's
- 16:31Speaker 2: a critique. Guys.
- 16:32Speaker 4: I need everybody to also tell us what they think
- 16:35Speaker 4: about this show, because I don't know what other podcasts
- 16:39Speaker 4: are recapping the show besides us, and so I'm interested
- 16:42Speaker 4: to hear other opinions. But the thing is, I think
- 16:45Speaker 4: Joan was saying about the candle room because she was
- 16:49Speaker 4: quick to say that the other two people on her
- 16:51Speaker 4: team hadn't even been in that room before or like
- 16:53Speaker 4: utilize it.
- 16:54Speaker 2: But I was weirded out by that because I understand
- 16:56Speaker 2: that Sam did not he did not record his season
- 17:00Speaker 2: at the Mansion, but Courney did.
- 17:03Speaker 4: I think she meant more like, you're not a lead
- 17:07Speaker 4: navigating and using the room.
- 17:09Speaker 3: That's how I interpreted.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Okay, and Courtney was on like thirteen years ago, so
- 17:15Speaker 2: maybe it wasn't even a candle room at that point.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Maybe it was a closet back then. I don't know.
- 17:20Speaker 4: But like, I think what she was trying to say
- 17:23Speaker 4: was like when she said functionality, was like make it
- 17:26Speaker 4: more than just two people can sit in here at
- 17:28Speaker 4: a time.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Uh huh.
- 17:30Speaker 4: But it's like anyways, we'll get into we'll get into
- 17:33Speaker 4: the essence of the room.
- 17:37Speaker 2: So now we go with Jill and Alisha their conflicting design.
- 17:41Speaker 2: You know, their fight is that Alisha wants to go
- 17:45Speaker 2: for like is it a tile, but she wants to
- 17:49Speaker 2: do a mirror wall up. She wants to do like
- 17:51Speaker 2: a tile.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Alicia wanted to do something with tile, but it was
- 17:56Speaker 4: like kind of like shingle looking. I think was like
- 17:59Speaker 4: the format she wanted to do.
- 18:01Speaker 2: That seems like it's gonna take a long time to
- 18:04Speaker 2: do it on the entire wall.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Well, they have a lot of help, I think behind
- 18:08Speaker 3: the scenes.
- 18:09Speaker 4: Okay, I want to know why they didn't discuss anything
- 18:12Speaker 4: with that fireplace, Like this is the second time they've
- 18:14Speaker 4: had a big fireplace in the room too, and that
- 18:17Speaker 4: was like not talked about.
- 18:19Speaker 2: The fireplace is probably the nicest element in that room.
- 18:22Speaker 2: It's beautiful. So I'm team Jill in this just because
- 18:26Speaker 2: I'm friends with Jill and she's so funny. But I
- 18:30Speaker 2: don't know that I'm team Jill in this mural. Dean
- 18:33Speaker 2: ends up being team Jill, and I appreciate that because
- 18:37Speaker 2: I know that they got close throughout this and they
- 18:39Speaker 2: really got along together. Knowing the two of them, I
- 18:42Speaker 2: understand why they go along the mural not to jump ahead.
- 18:46Speaker 2: It looks good, it looks fine, it looks decent, but
- 18:50Speaker 2: it doesn't.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Look it doesn't go with the architecture of the house exactly.
- 18:55Speaker 2: It's it would be a really it just doesn't go
- 18:57Speaker 2: to the architecture of the house at all. It's like
- 18:59Speaker 2: this zen Well, I don't even know how to describe it.
- 19:02Speaker 2: It's very pretty, but it just doesn't It's not at
- 19:06Speaker 2: all Mediterranean.
- 19:07Speaker 4: No, it's very modern. It's very anthropology apology.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:13Speaker 4: I think it would be great in a bedroom as
- 19:16Speaker 4: an accent wall, or even a dining room. I don't
- 19:20Speaker 4: know about it being in such a big space as
- 19:22Speaker 4: a living room. But what I will say to Jill's
- 19:25Speaker 4: credit is it is a design show and you are
- 19:28Speaker 4: supposed to make bold moves. And that's probably why Dean
- 19:31Speaker 4: sided with her, because we just saw how much he
- 19:33Speaker 4: loved a blue ceiling in the last episode. So like,
- 19:35Speaker 4: these are risk taking people, and I think that that
- 19:38Speaker 4: is what this show needs, right Like, had it just
- 19:41Speaker 4: been beige tiles.
- 19:43Speaker 2: It wouldn't have been a remodel. It would have been
- 19:47Speaker 2: very similar to what we already see it look like exactly.
- 19:50Speaker 2: That's kind of why I'm glad I did it just
- 19:52Speaker 2: for the interest.
- 19:52Speaker 4: Effect exactly, so I'll agree with that. Do I think
- 19:56Speaker 4: it was the best choice?
- 19:57Speaker 2: No?
- 19:58Speaker 3: Were they only given forty five minutes to make these choices?
- 20:01Speaker 4: Yes, which it also stresses me out, Like do.
- 20:06Speaker 3: You remember did you ever used to watch Project Runway?
- 20:10Speaker 2: Yeah, that would stress me out too, to the point
- 20:12Speaker 2: where I didn't want to watch it.
- 20:13Speaker 4: But they had an entire first portion of the day
- 20:17Speaker 4: that was the first part of the challenge, right, was sketching,
- 20:20Speaker 4: picking out their materials, doing measurements, not forty five minutes,
- 20:26Speaker 4: you know what I mean, Like that's an outfit.
- 20:28Speaker 3: We're talking about a room.
- 20:29Speaker 4: Like, I don't know, I just feel like there's too
- 20:32Speaker 4: much of the wrong things shoved into these episodes, which
- 20:36Speaker 4: is aka the voting off of each other where I'm like,
- 20:38Speaker 4: I want to see more design. I want to see
- 20:41Speaker 4: walls getting holes punched in them, which we have not
- 20:44Speaker 4: seen yet in two episodes.
- 20:46Speaker 2: No, we don't really see any construction, no any demo
- 20:49Speaker 2: or anything like that because it's really more of an design.
- 20:53Speaker 3: It's definitely an aesthetic show and not a hard design
- 20:58Speaker 3: show that we do see on eah GTV.
- 21:01Speaker 4: And I think that the I mean the big reason
- 21:03Speaker 4: for that is that you have to pull permits and
- 21:05Speaker 4: you have to do a lot of crazy stuff when
- 21:06Speaker 4: you're doing those kinds of renovations, and they also take
- 21:09Speaker 4: a lot longer, and it sounds like they were in
- 21:12Speaker 4: a very tight time crunch to do this show, so
- 21:15Speaker 4: you know, paint and furniture is going to really give
- 21:18Speaker 4: you the most bang.
- 21:19Speaker 3: For your buck.
- 21:20Speaker 4: But then we get it to the incorporating the rose
- 21:24Speaker 4: into the design, and that's when Dean says he wants
- 21:27Speaker 4: to redesign the iconic podium that we see in every
- 21:31Speaker 4: episode that is always holding the roses, and Jill and
- 21:36Speaker 4: Alicia lead with, you know, doing some sort of rose
- 21:41Speaker 4: etching on the top of the podium is kind of
- 21:43Speaker 4: what they all decide on. It's subtle, it's not in
- 21:47Speaker 4: your face. And then the barroom says that they're going
- 21:50Speaker 4: to put a three D printed rose into their design,
- 21:54Speaker 4: and then the candle room ends up doing some one
- 21:58Speaker 4: of a kind artwork by me.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Yeah, so they all work, Uh, I do the bar
- 22:04Speaker 2: one was probably like maybe the the one that I
- 22:07Speaker 2: didn't like the most. There was like, really you liked
- 22:10Speaker 2: that one?
- 22:11Speaker 4: No, I'm just surprised that from you saying that for
- 22:14Speaker 4: some reason, I thought you, as a Disney lover, were
- 22:17Speaker 4: going to be like I liked it.
- 22:18Speaker 3: It reminded me of beauty.
- 22:19Speaker 2: In the so Enchanted Rose. I totally agree, and I
- 22:22Speaker 2: love the idea of it. And then when I saw
- 22:24Speaker 2: it up there.
- 22:25Speaker 3: I was like, it's not right because because it was tilted,
- 22:28Speaker 3: and you don't like it. You don't like it because
- 22:30Speaker 3: it was tilted.
- 22:31Speaker 2: So I think I would have like wanted to see
- 22:33Speaker 2: like some mosaic up there, like I would have liked
- 22:36Speaker 2: my enchanted Land. I would have liked to have something
- 22:39Speaker 2: like tile mosaic, like a stained glass type.
- 22:42Speaker 4: I was just gonna say, Daine glass glass behind that
- 22:46Speaker 4: with the bar and the wine.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Why didn't they hire us Ashley to be on this show?
- 22:52Speaker 4: I mean, but they really missed the mark on some
- 22:56Speaker 4: of that that.
- 22:59Speaker 2: This could have been corny too. But with the podium,
- 23:02Speaker 2: it could have been like the stem and then it
- 23:05Speaker 2: comes up to a rose and then like in the
- 23:09Speaker 2: center of it, it's flat, but like on the exterior
- 23:12Speaker 2: it looks like a rose opening up. That could be
- 23:13Speaker 2: kind of pretty. It was very it was very tasteful,
- 23:16Speaker 2: and it was fine, and it was Jill giving Aliyusha
- 23:20Speaker 2: her little bone. She was just like, just do what
- 23:22Speaker 2: you want with this, it's fine.
- 23:24Speaker 4: And then and I think that what did you think
- 23:27Speaker 4: about the bar choice in doing everything in one color?
- 23:31Speaker 2: No, I didn't want to get you didn't like that.
- 23:33Speaker 2: So they said they wanted to go moody, But I
- 23:35Speaker 2: didn't feel like it was moody at all.
- 23:37Speaker 4: I think they just said moody because the colors were
- 23:39Speaker 4: like mauve and like black countertops. I think that that
- 23:43Speaker 4: was just like the only way they could describe that.
- 23:45Speaker 4: But I agree with you that it was not dark
- 23:47Speaker 4: and moody. It was giving neutrals.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, but they did do a good job with
- 23:55Speaker 2: the casing of the wine bottles, and that seems to
- 23:58Speaker 2: be what was one of the favorite things from the
- 23:59Speaker 2: judge's this week. Before we get there, let's talk about
- 24:04Speaker 2: the contestants forming alliances, which is another little like popin
- 24:08Speaker 2: scene that was like very interesting because the barroom crew
- 24:13Speaker 2: comes in a check on the progress of the living
- 24:15Speaker 2: room crew, and these two teams agree that if either
- 24:20Speaker 2: of them have the choice to eliminate a group after this,
- 24:24Speaker 2: that they would eliminate someone from the candle room. That
- 24:28Speaker 2: they would protect each other. And then in the interview
- 24:32Speaker 2: Jill in the interview room, Jill crosses her fingers and
- 24:35Speaker 2: wingsys that she's not really joining this alliance. And this
- 24:38Speaker 2: whole scene was kind of like a moment to me
- 24:39Speaker 2: where I was like, did I miss something? Like why?
- 24:43Speaker 2: Why are we like being so loyal to each other
- 24:45Speaker 2: right now?
- 24:46Speaker 4: The minute I saw it, I was like, you could
- 24:49Speaker 4: probably touch Joan in her group, like you're standing so
- 24:52Speaker 4: close to them, like there's no way that they're not
- 24:54Speaker 4: hearing this.
- 24:55Speaker 2: It was so weird.
- 24:57Speaker 3: Again, it felt a little like out of place.
- 25:00Speaker 4: This is the stuff that I'm talking about when I
- 25:01Speaker 4: say like I'm not really about it, is like it's this,
- 25:05Speaker 4: it's the eliminations where I'm like, this feels a little
- 25:08Speaker 4: forced to me. It brings down a vibe of the
- 25:10Speaker 4: show that I'm not really liking, and that's just me.
- 25:15Speaker 4: But yeah, it didn't it and clearly, as we see,
- 25:18Speaker 4: it doesn't end.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Up being something that sticks.
- 25:20Speaker 2: I think obviously they just wanted drama and steaks and
- 25:23Speaker 2: they're trying to come up with something here and it
- 25:26Speaker 2: just we kind of just wanted the happy show.
- 25:28Speaker 4: I tell you, where the drama and steaks usually come
- 25:31Speaker 4: from on renovation shows.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Usually like the plumbing's not working and they're going to
- 25:36Speaker 2: cost like an extra twenty thousand dollars to do something
- 25:38Speaker 2: about it.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 25:39Speaker 4: It's situational drama. So either the fabric that you wanted
- 25:43Speaker 4: didn't end up on the truck and didn't arrive in time,
- 25:46Speaker 4: or you're gonna run out of time before your three
- 25:49Speaker 4: d rows can be printed. You need to come up
- 25:51Speaker 4: with another option.
- 25:53Speaker 2: We found black mold.
- 25:57Speaker 4: But there's a lot of things that you can do
- 25:59Speaker 4: besides making people turn on each other and form alliances.
- 26:05Speaker 4: It's just like there's to me, this is giving t
- 26:09Speaker 4: MoU version of the Brady Bunch Renovation Show, and I'm
- 26:12Speaker 4: just like not loving it just yet.
- 26:15Speaker 3: I think everybody on the show is super talented.
- 26:18Speaker 2: It's the thing and super great because like, I love
- 26:21Speaker 2: their personalities and that's the favorite part of the show
- 26:23Speaker 2: is just getting to see all these people again on
- 26:26Speaker 2: the TV exactly.
- 26:27Speaker 4: And that's where I think I'm feeling a little upset,
- 26:30Speaker 4: is like I want to see more of their talents
- 26:33Speaker 4: and I want to see less of this stuff that
- 26:34Speaker 4: I can tell is not natural to any of these people,
- 26:37Speaker 4: and they're just having to do it.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Okay, let's talk about the screwdriver challenge. This one's really easy.
- 26:44Speaker 2: When it comes to a challenge, they well, I mean,
- 26:47Speaker 2: you know, not saying that I'm going to excel at it,
- 26:49Speaker 2: but it's very simple. They need to estimate seventeen points
- 26:55Speaker 2: something inches seventeen point five inches and cut a block
- 27:00Speaker 2: of wood that they assume is seventeen point five inches,
- 27:04Speaker 2: and then they put it in a box and they
- 27:06Speaker 2: see whoever got closest to that mark. You can't go over.
- 27:10Speaker 2: It's like the price is right. Brandon ends up winning.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Brendan I always had this problem with him. Brendan ends
- 27:18Speaker 2: up winning. And this means that, well, actually we don't.
- 27:23Speaker 3: Know what it don't. No, they don't.
- 27:24Speaker 4: They wait till the last minute to tell us what
- 27:26Speaker 4: this whole thing is.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Yes, so we go back to the running renting room.
- 27:30Speaker 2: Everything's kind of like coming together, and then we get
- 27:36Speaker 2: to see who the judges are. And isn't it crazy
- 27:39Speaker 2: that the wayfair furniture on like comes three hours before
- 27:41Speaker 2: the reveal, Like that's just like, are you kidding me?
- 27:44Speaker 2: I have to place these things in a room.
- 27:46Speaker 3: But at least they've already pre picked it. Out, so
- 27:49Speaker 3: they should know.
- 27:51Speaker 4: Like it's not like on other design shows where I've
- 27:53Speaker 4: seen where they have to like go back to like
- 27:56Speaker 4: a parking lot and like pick out and like it's
- 27:58Speaker 4: like an hour before that I think is more stressful.
- 28:02Speaker 4: At least they knew what they were getting the day before.
- 28:05Speaker 2: You're you're so right, You're so right. I kind of
- 28:07Speaker 2: forgot about that element. So we are going to get
- 28:10Speaker 2: our guest judge for the week. I like this pick
- 28:13Speaker 2: it is Christina Hack said Hack okay.
- 28:17Speaker 3: I thought it was Hack and they all called her Hawk.
- 28:20Speaker 4: Oh, they all called her Christina Hawk on the show,
- 28:23Speaker 4: and I was like, isn't it Christina Hack Okay?
- 28:25Speaker 2: I always just think of her as Christina ever MADEGTV,
- 28:28Speaker 2: the one that's been like married, you know, a divorce
- 28:30Speaker 2: and then married and divorce and then engaged and then
- 28:33Speaker 2: not married. You know. Yes, yes, she's the one with
- 28:35Speaker 2: the dramatic romantic life on HGTV. And they get obviously
- 28:42Speaker 2: it's like that's a pretty big deal. That's exciting, and
- 28:44Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, this is an easy get for them.
- 28:46Speaker 2: So the judges end up seeing the living space and
- 28:50Speaker 2: they're wowed. Bite like Tasha thinks it's absolutely fantastic. Let's
- 28:55Speaker 2: go through the through quote room by room. The living space.
- 28:59Speaker 2: They like that it's cozy and warm. They like the
- 29:02Speaker 2: muted colors with the colorful furniture. They don't like the
- 29:06Speaker 2: Roman clay with the mural I don't notice where the
- 29:09Speaker 2: Roman clay even is. Where is it.
- 29:11Speaker 4: It's all the back, so like the arches are in
- 29:14Speaker 4: Roman clay, the backing, the everything right, the whole back
- 29:18Speaker 4: of the bar.
- 29:19Speaker 3: Their whole wall is Roman clay.
- 29:21Speaker 2: Okay, So then they also like the podium in the
- 29:35Speaker 2: candle room. They like the dark beams. I will say
- 29:38Speaker 2: I really like the dark beams. The fact that they
- 29:40Speaker 2: had an issue that they weren't. There was debate as
- 29:45Speaker 2: to whether they should go black beams. No, that was
- 29:48Speaker 2: absolutely the right decision. They wish that the shelves were
- 29:52Speaker 2: deeper in built and that the scones fit better on
- 29:55Speaker 2: the side. This is something that Tyler noticed. He said
- 29:57Speaker 2: it would have made it look more rich if the
- 29:59Speaker 2: shelves went back further, and of course with wiscons is fit.
- 30:03Speaker 2: They do like the rose art that Corney came up with.
- 30:05Speaker 2: They do think that the room looks less dramatic than
- 30:08Speaker 2: the original candle room. I mean, yeah, because the original
- 30:11Speaker 2: candle room has like thirty little candles on the wall,
- 30:16Speaker 2: and this is more of like a candlelit room, which
- 30:19Speaker 2: is kind of like every other room in the mansion
- 30:22Speaker 2: on a Rose everyoney night.
- 30:24Speaker 4: Also, they were like fake candles that Joan was putting up,
- 30:27Speaker 4: and I think one of the most iconic things about
- 30:30Speaker 4: that space when you see it on the show is
- 30:32Speaker 4: that they're real candles and they're flickering and it gives
- 30:35Speaker 4: off really gorgeous light. Yeah, so I agree with the
- 30:38Speaker 4: judges on that that it does feel a lot less
- 30:41Speaker 4: dramatic Without that.
- 30:42Speaker 2: I'm wondering if this was a thing that they couldn't
- 30:44Speaker 2: get around that for this show they had to be
- 30:47Speaker 2: careful and usefully less candles.
- 30:49Speaker 4: You're probably right. I also think had they had the
- 30:53Speaker 4: candle room gone dark and moody, I think we would
- 30:56Speaker 4: have seen a more wow factor with fake candles lit
- 31:00Speaker 4: and something dark versus pink and white tile that doesn't
- 31:04Speaker 4: bounce light as well.
- 31:06Speaker 2: It looked a little feminine. It was a bachelor, you know,
- 31:11Speaker 2: if there's a Bachelor shoot. Especially.
- 31:13Speaker 3: I did like the tile. I did. They said that
- 31:16Speaker 3: a lot of people said that they liked the tile that.
- 31:18Speaker 2: X that looked better than I expected it to look.
- 31:21Speaker 3: It did look good.
- 31:22Speaker 4: I just I think I agree with you that maybe
- 31:24Speaker 4: it had if it weren't like pink and white and
- 31:26Speaker 4: it was like something other, another color, that maybe would
- 31:30Speaker 4: have made it feel a little bit more elevated.
- 31:33Speaker 2: I totally totally agreed. So then they we get to
- 31:36Speaker 2: the bar and wine cellar. They do love the three
- 31:39Speaker 2: D printed rows. As we were saying, I wish it
- 31:42Speaker 2: was like a little bit more ornate. I think they
- 31:45Speaker 2: don't love that everything is the same color. It feels flat.
- 31:48Speaker 2: I agreed with them on this, and they like the
- 31:51Speaker 2: modern look of the wine cellar wall. We've already talked
- 31:56Speaker 2: about that.
- 31:56Speaker 3: So then.
- 32:00Speaker 2: You made a note here that's just really funny that
- 32:02Speaker 2: you talk about her outfit change for the judging. Except
- 32:05Speaker 2: for Noah didn't really change. So they're all like in
- 32:08Speaker 2: their best.
- 32:09Speaker 3: This is my favorite part of the episode.
- 32:12Speaker 2: I'm it looks like they're getting ready for a rost ceremony,
- 32:15Speaker 2: like a professional roast ceremony, except for Noah, who's just
- 32:17Speaker 2: in his white te shirt.
- 32:19Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like Noah didn't get the memo that they
- 32:21Speaker 4: were doing this I don't.
- 32:23Speaker 3: I really like Tammy, but I'm like, what are you
- 32:27Speaker 3: wearing in this?
- 32:28Speaker 2: Oh? I think it's cute.
- 32:29Speaker 4: I think that it looks like she's going to a
- 32:31Speaker 4: house showing. I don't know, like everything is. Everybody is
- 32:35Speaker 4: doing their own thing, which kind of lends to this challenge, right,
- 32:38Speaker 4: everybody is doing their own different zone of the same room.
- 32:42Speaker 4: So everybody's kind of doing their own thing. But obviously,
- 32:46Speaker 4: like what I said, Courtney's look really caught my eye
- 32:50Speaker 4: at the end, and I don't know if anybody else
- 32:53Speaker 4: caught this, but I was like watching it and I
- 32:55Speaker 4: was like thinking, Courtney, like, that's a real decision to
- 32:59Speaker 4: like wear that dress.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Well, you have to tell everybody what it is. She's
- 33:02Speaker 2: wearing the dress that she got engaged on, yes, engaged
- 33:06Speaker 2: in on the Bachelor. And you know, this was actually
- 33:09Speaker 2: a controversial dress point back in the day because they
- 33:13Speaker 2: put her in black, which I don't think they put
- 33:15Speaker 2: any girl in that wins. They were trying to symbolize
- 33:19Speaker 2: that she was the villain with the black.
- 33:22Speaker 3: The black and the black gloves.
- 33:25Speaker 2: Oh, she had the black sleeves, which were amazing.
- 33:28Speaker 4: Yeah, that was like that was the solidifier of why
- 33:32Speaker 4: this dress, and this look is burned in my brain
- 33:35Speaker 4: still that when I was watching this, I was like, Courtney,
- 33:38Speaker 4: are you wearing that dress?
- 33:40Speaker 2: And I did a quick search on that that is
- 33:42Speaker 2: something I would have done for sure.
- 33:44Speaker 4: Quick search, and I found that it was the same dress.
- 33:46Speaker 4: So like, first of all props, Courtney, Courtney's a mommy
- 33:50Speaker 4: and she still fits into.
- 33:51Speaker 3: Her engagement dress ofteen years ago. We love that for you, Courtney.
- 33:55Speaker 2: We love it so much. I was thinking the exact
- 33:57Speaker 2: same thing, all right. So what ends up happening is
- 34:02Speaker 2: that the team that the judges end up liking the
- 34:05Speaker 2: least is the Bar and Wine Cellar, so they are
- 34:10Speaker 2: therefore the team that will be eliminated from and this
- 34:13Speaker 2: is where the challenge of the Golden Drill comes in
- 34:17Speaker 2: Golden Drill, what is it called? Was the Golden Screwdriver? Screwdriver?
- 34:21Speaker 4: Okay, but wait, we have to say though that so
- 34:26Speaker 4: the winning team was the Living Space, which means that
- 34:28Speaker 4: they choose the bottom three. The Living Space team then
- 34:31Speaker 4: gets to choose who's up for elimination, and they choose
- 34:35Speaker 4: the Bar.
- 34:36Speaker 2: And it's like, oh, that's right, that's right. How I
- 34:39Speaker 2: forget that this is fault it's yes, I was actually
- 34:41Speaker 2: shot at the Living Space one, but also very happy
- 34:44Speaker 2: because I just wanted to see Dean and Jill safe
- 34:47Speaker 2: and I wanted to see Jill like have satisfaction over
- 34:51Speaker 2: the fact that her idea worked exactly. And now Aliyusha
- 34:55Speaker 2: is just like, well, great for me because I get
- 34:57Speaker 2: to go through and maybe a little bit frustrating because
- 35:00Speaker 2: maybe I was wrong, but whatever. So yeah, then they
- 35:03Speaker 2: pick the bar in Winzelar room and things get weird
- 35:07Speaker 2: between Dean and Noah.
- 35:08Speaker 4: Here they literally made that alliance so that they were
- 35:11Speaker 4: gonna kick it to the candle room and they literally.
- 35:14Speaker 2: Didn't like what that's super weird and it's still not
- 35:17Speaker 2: brought up like we as the audience need to like
- 35:19Speaker 2: bring that attention there. But okay, so what happens. They
- 35:25Speaker 2: go in there, the three of them, Jill and Elisha
- 35:29Speaker 2: and Dean, and then they go and try to eliminate someone, right.
- 35:36Speaker 4: That's when they remember. They go into the room and
- 35:38Speaker 4: they're like, okay, we each have to vote for who
- 35:40Speaker 4: we want to be in the bottom three, and then
- 35:42Speaker 4: they're when they're making their decisions, the girls are like, no, no, no,
- 35:46Speaker 4: we got to get the boys out.
- 35:48Speaker 3: Because they're not looking out for us.
- 35:50Speaker 4: And that's when Dean's like, well, these are my boys,
- 35:53Speaker 4: but I guess I get I can fall in line
- 35:56Speaker 4: with this, and.
- 35:57Speaker 3: So they end up voting for each person in the barroom.
- 36:01Speaker 2: Yes, there's all three of them have a card against
- 36:04Speaker 2: them exactly. And what's weird is that Dean and Noah,
- 36:10Speaker 2: who we thought were friends like, actually may not be.
- 36:14Speaker 2: Because Dean goes, he writes out on his card Noah
- 36:18Speaker 2: in very dean like fashion. Yeah, and Jesse goes, I
- 36:23Speaker 2: think you could probably tell who wrote that, and then
- 36:26Speaker 2: he goes, yeah, a guy with an ugly mustache. So
- 36:29Speaker 2: do they not like each other? Are they just having
- 36:31Speaker 2: fun with each other?
- 36:31Speaker 4: I felt like it was being a little teasy funny.
- 36:34Speaker 4: I don't think it's too hard of feelings. But again,
- 36:36Speaker 4: I think, if I'm Noah, I'm like, yo, didn't we
- 36:39Speaker 4: just have an alliance about going out to that candle room?
- 36:42Speaker 3: Like that's what I would be thinking.
- 36:44Speaker 2: Is it just because Dean knew that the girls were
- 36:46Speaker 2: going to be voting the other way, so like he
- 36:48Speaker 2: was like, I'll just fill in the third and now
- 36:49Speaker 2: they'll have to come up with it themselves, which is
- 36:51Speaker 2: also very Dean like to put the decision in somebody
- 36:54Speaker 2: else's hands.
- 36:54Speaker 4: Again, I literally felt like Dean did not have any
- 36:57Speaker 4: sort of immunity this episode, and so he was.
- 37:00Speaker 3: Just fallen in line.
- 37:01Speaker 4: He just to me was like last episode he was like,
- 37:04Speaker 4: I got immunity, I can just like do what I want.
- 37:07Speaker 3: Blue Ceilings going crazy.
- 37:08Speaker 4: And this time and he was a tiebreaker vote, and
- 37:11Speaker 4: this time he's like, pressure's off. I'm just gonna just
- 37:15Speaker 4: gonna follow and like do my thing because I know
- 37:17Speaker 4: I'm staying for another week, you know, And.
- 37:19Speaker 3: So which is fine. It's also fine.
- 37:21Speaker 4: But this is then when after they've you know, made
- 37:24Speaker 4: the announcement of who the bottom three are, this is
- 37:26Speaker 4: when Jesse comes in and tells us, you know, the
- 37:29Speaker 4: winner of the Golden Screwdriver is Brendan, and Brendan now
- 37:34Speaker 4: has to choose who's going home. And this is again
- 37:37Speaker 4: where I'm like, this is such a downer. You have
- 37:40Speaker 4: all these judges, make them send somebody home. Why are
- 37:44Speaker 4: you making this guy turn to one of these two
- 37:47Speaker 4: people he just worked on a project with and be
- 37:49Speaker 4: like you gotta go.
- 37:52Speaker 2: I wonder if they're trying to save that. When the
- 37:58Speaker 2: win of the Golden Screwdriver for a moment like this
- 38:02Speaker 2: where they were like secretly hoping that that person who
- 38:05Speaker 2: won would have been on the losing team. So he
- 38:08Speaker 2: says he hates to do it, but he ends up
- 38:11Speaker 2: well sending we don't know who home because now they're
- 38:14Speaker 2: ending on another cliffhanger.
- 38:17Speaker 4: And I think that they have to do that right,
- 38:19Speaker 4: because if the show doesn't have a big enough cast
- 38:21Speaker 4: to be knocking two contestants off every single episode, so
- 38:24Speaker 4: instead they're ending on a cliffhanger, and they're starting every
- 38:28Speaker 4: episode on a downer, which is saying goodbye to somebody, That's.
- 38:31Speaker 2: Probably the way to do it. I think sure.
- 38:34Speaker 4: I mean, we just came off of watching a full
- 38:37Speaker 4: season of The Traders, and their cast is big enough
- 38:39Speaker 4: that they're kicking two off every episode.
- 38:41Speaker 2: You're losing it. Yeah, you lose one.
- 38:43Speaker 4: At the top end one at the bottom in two
- 38:45Speaker 4: different ways, and that that keeps that show moving because
- 38:49Speaker 4: there's so many cast members. Again, I just keep going
- 38:52Speaker 4: back to, this show is so small. I just really
- 38:55Speaker 4: feel like this element of the show is not hitting
- 38:57Speaker 4: for me. But then we do see scenes from next week,
- 39:01Speaker 4: which is the contestants are gonna be taking on the
- 39:04Speaker 4: pool area. So when I hear that pool construction obviously
- 39:10Speaker 4: takes a very long time, tile work, all that kind
- 39:12Speaker 4: of stuff, So I'm not anticipating that. I feel like
- 39:15Speaker 4: this is gonna be an episode. Next week will be
- 39:19Speaker 4: an episode about landscaping. I think we're gonna be seeing
- 39:22Speaker 4: people getting their hands dirty. I think we're gonna be
- 39:25Speaker 4: seeing patio furniture, barbecue furniture like that kind of stuff happening,
- 39:30Speaker 4: fire pits, which we don't really have. And did you
- 39:34Speaker 4: notice too, On the first episode, we finally saw like
- 39:37Speaker 4: the fountains on at the pool, which we never see
- 39:40Speaker 4: on because spoilers, fountains make noise and they don't use
- 39:45Speaker 4: those for a reason on shows like this, So I
- 39:48Speaker 4: think maybe we'll see water features or something like that.
- 39:51Speaker 4: But we see Courtney and Alicia not getting along, we
- 39:55Speaker 4: see Dean feeling annoyed, and it looks like some contestants
- 39:59Speaker 4: a are repurposing the ceiling art that we.
- 40:03Speaker 3: Saw from the bunk bedroom in the first challenge.
- 40:06Speaker 2: When they said that was actually off limits to repurpose.
- 40:08Speaker 4: That, I guess that was is what Alicia is claiming
- 40:13Speaker 4: in this you know, sign for the for the next episode,
- 40:16Speaker 4: and then Tasia saying something to something I don't like it, Yeah.
- 40:22Speaker 2: And she's saying it with a lot of like strength
- 40:24Speaker 2: behind it, So I'm interested to see what that is.
- 40:29Speaker 2: I also am interested to see how Joan goes because
- 40:32Speaker 2: I know that Joan's decision making and her I feel
- 40:36Speaker 2: like she I think that a lot of people might
- 40:39Speaker 2: be thinking that she's a little controlling and she's having
- 40:42Speaker 2: too many opinions. I don't know. I think that's how
- 40:45Speaker 2: Courtney seems a little bit rubbed the wrong way.
- 40:47Speaker 3: This episode interesting.
- 40:49Speaker 4: I get the sense from Joan right that she is
- 40:53Speaker 4: extremely organized, and I think like probably as a mom,
- 40:57Speaker 4: you can speak to this too, like when you run
- 40:59Speaker 4: a household and like you're used to kind of like
- 41:02Speaker 4: being around a lot of moving pieces. I think it's
- 41:05Speaker 4: kind of hard to turn that off, I would expect.
- 41:08Speaker 4: And Joan has like kids, grandkids, you know, a lot
- 41:11Speaker 4: going on in her life, and she's always kind of
- 41:13Speaker 4: like shuffling. I've spent a lot of time around her,
- 41:15Speaker 4: and I've never felt like she's like aggressive or like
- 41:20Speaker 4: bossy or like that.
- 41:21Speaker 2: I thought that Corney may have thought she was taking
- 41:24Speaker 2: over a little bit too much. This episode.
- 41:25Speaker 4: We'll see, But I will say though, like it's in
- 41:30Speaker 4: these kinds of situations, I think you have to write.
- 41:32Speaker 4: Like something that I really admired about Jill in this
- 41:35Speaker 4: episode was she was adamant about the wall mural, but
- 41:40Speaker 4: she was also very quick to say, it's my fault.
- 41:43Speaker 3: Then if it doesn't work out, I'm gonna go home.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Yeah. That was so good.
- 41:47Speaker 3: And that's what you have to.
- 41:48Speaker 4: Do on these shows because the point is is to
- 41:50Speaker 4: make bold moves, it is to show your skills, but
- 41:53Speaker 4: it's also to have conviction about your decisions.
- 41:57Speaker 3: You know, who wants somebody that's half in, half out.
- 42:00Speaker 4: Those are the designs that end up being really mashed
- 42:02Speaker 4: together and don't work. Like you do have to have
- 42:05Speaker 4: somebody that's like, no, this is what we're doing, and
- 42:08Speaker 4: you're on a team and you're gonna have to give
- 42:10Speaker 4: and take from time to time. But I do think
- 42:13Speaker 4: that like Jill and Joan are a little bit similar
- 42:15Speaker 4: in that.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Sense, and Joan doesn't think that Jill likes her. Wait,
- 42:20Speaker 2: there was that one comment that said I'll probably be
- 42:23Speaker 2: voted off by Jill.
- 42:25Speaker 3: Wait, I must have missed that.
- 42:27Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I mean, maybe I'm being sillacious. Maybe it
- 42:30Speaker 2: was absolutely nothing, but we'll see. I keep saying we'll see.
- 42:35Speaker 2: I wanted to say thank you though, for bringing up
- 42:37Speaker 2: that component of Jill's, that character trait of Jill's when
- 42:42Speaker 2: she was just like, I don't know. If it messes up,
- 42:43Speaker 2: blame me, will eliminate me.
- 42:46Speaker 4: I think that's important, Like in something like this, you know,
- 42:49Speaker 4: she believed in herself and not only did it work
- 42:52Speaker 4: out in her favor, but then she got praise for it.
- 42:54Speaker 4: So I think that's obviously going to carry into the
- 42:56Speaker 4: next episode. Right where we saw in the first episode
- 43:00Speaker 4: took a swing, it didn't really resonate with the judges,
- 43:03Speaker 4: and so I think that's why you maybe saw him
- 43:05Speaker 4: like fall back a little bit this episode where Gil's
- 43:08Speaker 4: going to kind of run with it and be like, Yo,
- 43:10Speaker 4: you didn't like the muror last time, but the judges did,
- 43:12Speaker 4: you know, Like, I think she's going to feel feel
- 43:15Speaker 4: herself on this next one, and she should. I think that,
- 43:18Speaker 4: you know, again, going back when I say that I'm
- 43:20Speaker 4: not like vibing with certain things about this show. It's
- 43:23Speaker 4: about the format, it's about how this show is being made.
- 43:26Speaker 4: I think that the cast on this show is spectacular,
- 43:29Speaker 4: and I think that there's such a good easy I
- 43:31Speaker 4: just want to see more of them doing what they
- 43:34Speaker 4: do best.
- 43:35Speaker 3: That's all. That's my complaint, definitely.
- 43:37Speaker 2: All right. Well, I think that we talked about that
- 43:40Speaker 2: show as long as the show, which is pretty impressive,
- 43:45Speaker 2: so too, pretty cool, all right, guys, Well, thanks for
- 43:47Speaker 2: joining us. We will see you again later this week
