- 1:40Speaker 2: full episode will most likely come out next Wednesday, So
- 1:44Speaker 2: if you want to have the full Saber Semantics episode,
- 1:48Speaker 2: our next.
- 1:48Speaker 1: One will probably be early next week.
- 1:51Speaker 2: The Sabers now four points up on the Tampa Bay
- 1:56Speaker 2: Lightning four first place in the Atlantic Division, technically tied
- 2:00Speaker 2: with the Carolina Hurricanes for first in all of the
- 2:03Speaker 2: Eastern Conference, but Carolina does have that game in hand,
- 2:05Speaker 2: so technically the Hurricanes are ahead of the Sabers for
- 2:09Speaker 2: first place in the Eastern Conference, but if the Hurricanes
- 2:14Speaker 2: lose that one, then they will be tied in that
- 2:16Speaker 2: in that regard for winning percentage of Sabers nine won
- 2:19Speaker 2: their last ten. The road record in the last twelve
- 2:22Speaker 2: is eleven zero to one. Alex Lyon, I believe has
- 2:25Speaker 2: picked up a point in or has won his last
- 2:27Speaker 2: ten road games. It's just been an incredible streak or run.
- 2:31Speaker 2: I guess you could say, and I know comments coming
- 2:33Speaker 2: in that it's not really a run anymore.
- 2:34Speaker 1: This is who they are. You know you can agree
- 2:36Speaker 1: with that.
- 2:37Speaker 2: But again since January first, twenty two, six and two,
- 2:41Speaker 2: just wow, just I continue to try to find words
- 2:45Speaker 2: to describe what this turnaround has been like since since
- 2:49Speaker 2: late November, for the Sabers club continues to just be,
- 2:53Speaker 2: you know, one of those storybook type of seasons that
- 2:55Speaker 2: you don't want to get to ahead of yourself for
- 2:56Speaker 2: a team that hasn't made the playoffs in the last
- 2:58Speaker 2: fourteen years. But this is a special group and they
- 3:02Speaker 2: continue to really buy into how they need to play.
- 3:04Speaker 2: So going into the game again, we'll get forward with
- 3:08Speaker 2: our game stats is always brought to by J and
- 3:10Speaker 2: L Flooring. If you think you can get a better
- 3:12Speaker 2: deal anywhere else you don't know Jack, check them out
- 3:15Speaker 2: at JNL flooring dot com or visit the Nagar Falls
- 3:17Speaker 2: location to begin your quality flooring project. Today and the
- 3:22Speaker 2: Sabers were out shot in this game twenty three to
- 3:24Speaker 2: sixteen by the Sharks, but at one point again which
- 3:28Speaker 2: we'll get into in the scoring summary, they had goal
- 3:32Speaker 2: four goals on nine shots on Alex and Delkovich you
- 3:36Speaker 2: got to start tonight a rough one for the Sharks.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Backup goaltender there Yar Slavaskarov still out right now, so
- 3:43Speaker 2: he had to play in back to back games, and
- 3:46Speaker 2: I definitely looked like it tonight. Just didn't have his
- 3:48Speaker 2: a game, that's for sure. Alex Line, as I mentioned,
- 3:50Speaker 2: got the start in the Sabers net. Face offs were
- 3:53Speaker 2: even tonight, twenty four forty eight for both clubs, both
- 3:57Speaker 2: teams zero for two on the power player, two for
- 3:58Speaker 2: two on the penalty kill. You want to say that
- 4:01Speaker 2: the Sabers had fourteen block shots to the Shark sixteen,
- 4:05Speaker 2: ten giveaways for the Sabers, nineteen for the Sharks, and
- 4:08Speaker 2: the Sabers had four takeaways to the Sharks six. Again,
- 4:12Speaker 2: with the shots on goal describedcy, the Sabers only had
- 4:16Speaker 2: five shots after the first period, three in the second,
- 4:20Speaker 2: and they scored on all three of their goals in
- 4:23Speaker 2: the second period, so they went three for three in
- 4:26Speaker 2: the middle period, even though the Sharks had ten shots,
- 4:28Speaker 2: scored none and then in the third eight to six
- 4:31Speaker 2: in favor of Buffalo. They got out shot. But again
- 4:33Speaker 2: it's not gonna matter when you win five nothing on
- 4:35Speaker 2: the score sheet. We've been saying this all year at
- 4:37Speaker 2: the Sabers Club. They get out shots, out shot more
- 4:40Speaker 2: nights than not, but they end up somehow being able
- 4:43Speaker 2: to come away with the victory because they have more
- 4:45Speaker 2: high danger scoring opportunities. And that second period was definitely
- 4:49Speaker 2: the dagger in the San Jose Sharks.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Tonight.
- 4:52Speaker 2: We'll move forward with our scoring summary tonight, brought to
- 4:54Speaker 2: you by the Nagar Employment Health Center helping people find
- 4:57Speaker 2: work in the niagaragentsin is nineteen eighty three. Checkout drive
- 4:59Speaker 2: TOD eight job board at EHD to find your next
- 5:02Speaker 2: work opportunity. Today again, as I mentioned, no scoring in
- 5:05Speaker 2: the first period, but then we had a wild sequence
- 5:08Speaker 2: here in the second. All started with Noah Austlin's goal
- 5:11Speaker 2: at the nine oh five mark of the second period,
- 5:14Speaker 2: a friendly bounce even though they were the away team tonight.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Josh Stone came down the left wing.
- 5:19Speaker 2: He missed the shot, but it came off the back
- 5:21Speaker 2: wall right to Noah Austlin who buried it in the
- 5:23Speaker 2: open net.
- 5:24Speaker 1: With Alex Adalkovich going the other way.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Dun shut the score.
- 5:32Speaker 1: No Austlin and it's won nothing, Buffalo.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Then it was Sam Karrick taking the drop pass from
- 5:38Speaker 2: Rasmus Dalin who entered the zone and just wristed one
- 5:42Speaker 2: from the hash marks and it went top shelf where
- 5:44Speaker 2: Mama hides the cookies, as RJ would say, over top
- 5:48Speaker 2: of Alex Lyon. A great shot for the fourth liner
- 5:50Speaker 2: and sam krrick Is seventh goal of the season and
- 5:54Speaker 2: just continues to be a great ad for the Saber
- 5:56Speaker 2: since coming in third goal as a Saber and that
- 5:59Speaker 2: that goal came shortly after and the next shift Dollen
- 6:02Speaker 2: and Benson getting the assistan on that one. I should
- 6:04Speaker 2: mention on the Auceland goal assisted by Doan Logan Stanley
- 6:07Speaker 2: get his first point as a Buffalo Saber tonight, so
- 6:11Speaker 2: that was a feel good story as well, and then
- 6:13Speaker 2: moving forward with their third goal in a minute forty
- 6:16Speaker 2: three seconds. But Tia Samuelson with a stretch pass to
- 6:20Speaker 2: Jason Zucker and he cut down the right wing and
- 6:23Speaker 2: he was sort of shadowing the puck and being able
- 6:26Speaker 2: to with one hand on the stick be able to
- 6:29Speaker 2: protect that puck and he's able to kind of shovel
- 6:31Speaker 2: it over to the captain Rasmus Dahleen cutting down in
- 6:34Speaker 2: front and he buries it.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Three goals for the Sabers.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Stretching it out to Jason Zucker Relena Dickenson of this.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Goal again, Dallen the captain, and the Saders are charging.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Fit's three nothing.
- 6:49Speaker 2: They are charging alright. As Shark's broadcaster Randy Hans said
- 6:53Speaker 2: on that goal, three nothing, Sabers, three goals in a
- 6:56Speaker 2: minute forty three seconds. That was really the dagger there,
- 7:00Speaker 2: But insult to injury. The Sabers come out in the
- 7:02Speaker 2: third period, and we know this Shark's team. They can fly,
- 7:05Speaker 2: and they've got some dangerous players and some really young
- 7:09Speaker 2: skilled players, obviously with maconcell Librini and the boys, who
- 7:12Speaker 2: was held off the scoreesheet tonight, which is a very
- 7:14Speaker 2: hard thing to do. Tage Thompson, first shift of the
- 7:17Speaker 2: third period, thirty fifth goal the season, forty seconds in,
- 7:21Speaker 2: just kind of cuts down, takes the puck into the zone,
- 7:25Speaker 2: risk shot from the right circle. Alexandualkovich is gonna want
- 7:28Speaker 2: this one back. We've went five hole on him. Tage
- 7:31Speaker 2: Thompson extends the Sabers lead, Crebs and Tuck with the
- 7:34Speaker 2: assists on that marker. If there was any doubt, the
- 7:37Speaker 2: Sabers came out in that third period and got the
- 7:39Speaker 2: fourth goal and you're really really in tough with that one.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Sam Krrick would then later in the period tip in
- 7:46Speaker 2: his second goal, the game eighth goal of the season,
- 7:49Speaker 2: and again just a great story. This one was a
- 7:53Speaker 2: point shot from Logan Stanley hit Sam Kerrick's skate bounced
- 7:57Speaker 2: up in the air over top of Alex Andalkovich, and
- 8:00Speaker 2: you know what those are, the type of bounces you
- 8:02Speaker 2: get when you're playing well, right, So for Sam Kerrick,
- 8:05Speaker 2: he got rewarded on that one at the sixteen fifty
- 8:07Speaker 2: four mark of the third period, and that was all
- 8:09Speaker 2: she wrote. The Sabers pick up a five nothing road
- 8:12Speaker 2: victory in San Jose, but again it was all based
- 8:16Speaker 2: off of that three goals in a minute forty three
- 8:19Speaker 2: span from Auslin, Kerrick and Rasmus Dhalen in that middle
- 8:23Speaker 2: period that really did the Sharks in there and really
- 8:26Speaker 2: just couldn't recover from it. Really didn't get any momentum
- 8:29Speaker 2: on the power play. The Sabers first power play unit
- 8:31Speaker 2: was rough again, But I mean we've been saying that
- 8:33Speaker 2: all year despite this team continuing to play their best
- 8:36Speaker 2: hockey that we've seen them play in a decade, So
- 8:39Speaker 2: I can't really complain too much. But if there was
- 8:42Speaker 2: one gripe tonight, the power play just continues to not
- 8:44Speaker 2: be able degenerate a whole lot the first unit that
- 8:47Speaker 2: is more specifically, but again, you know, just being able
- 8:51Speaker 2: to play the right way.
- 8:53Speaker 1: And we'll hear from Lindy Rough here in a minute.
- 8:55Speaker 2: But the Sabers they this was the perfect type of
- 8:58Speaker 2: road game that they got three goals lence the crowd
- 9:01Speaker 2: come out in the third, get another early one to
- 9:03Speaker 2: really take the sales out, and they did not let
- 9:05Speaker 2: this young, inexperienced, yet talented Sharks team get back into
- 9:10Speaker 2: this hockey game. So Alex Lyon with that twenty three
- 9:13Speaker 2: save shutout picks up the victory for the Sabers looking
- 9:17Speaker 2: in with the shutout victory in Vegas the night before,
- 9:20Speaker 2: and it's continued to roll with this goalie rotation that's
- 9:23Speaker 2: been so good. So it continues to be a work
- 9:26Speaker 2: of art for Lindy Ruff with his juggling of his
- 9:29Speaker 2: coal tenders. Right now, So with that said, we're going
- 9:32Speaker 2: to go to our post game with Sabers head coach
- 9:36Speaker 2: Lindy Ruff. Is always brought to you by Wild Bills
- 9:37Speaker 2: out of Repair helping customers stay safe and confident on
- 9:40Speaker 2: the road in niagress Is twenty twelve in honor of
- 9:43Speaker 2: the late William Robert Hunter. Here's what the Sabers bench
- 9:45Speaker 2: boss said to say about his teams five nothing convincing
- 9:49Speaker 2: road victory and their second of four Western road trip games.
- 9:53Speaker 3: It was at a higher level than ours. We turned
- 9:57Speaker 3: some pucks over and the neutro zone had some lateral passes. Again,
- 10:02Speaker 3: you know, our goaltender gave us some great saves and
- 10:05Speaker 3: then I thought, you know, we we passed up a
- 10:08Speaker 3: couple of great opportunities. But then once we got rolling offensively,
- 10:12Speaker 3: that made a couple of real nice plays.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Early on there were a couple of players were celebrating.
- 10:16Speaker 1: He looked like he had a break and samuelsten you
- 10:18Speaker 1: just closed the gap. How impressive was he even those
- 10:20Speaker 1: plays tonight?
- 10:21Speaker 3: Overall, you know, we knew that we're gonna have to
- 10:22Speaker 3: be aware of him, I thought as a group, and Sammy,
- 10:26Speaker 3: especially when he was out there get you know, did
- 10:28Speaker 3: a good job making sure he didn't get free. He
- 10:33Speaker 3: caught us a couple of times in Buffalo, and you know,
- 10:35Speaker 3: we tried to make sure we were aware when he
- 10:37Speaker 3: was on the ice and you talked earlier.
- 10:39Speaker 1: I mean, Lion made three saves in the early going.
- 10:41Speaker 3: You could have been in a hole. And that's the
- 10:43Speaker 3: kind of thing you've gotten from him basically all year,
- 10:45Speaker 3: isn't it. Yeah, you know, I mean real important saves.
- 10:48Speaker 3: I mean, obviously to get through that first period, and
- 10:52Speaker 3: you know, not give up any came through in the
- 10:55Speaker 3: two and one with Crabs, but the Auceland line with
- 11:00Speaker 3: the Norris, they got us started, and you know, yeah,
- 11:04Speaker 3: at different times, I think it's been important that all
- 11:06Speaker 3: those guys produced. How impressive is it he brought Carat
- 11:09Speaker 3: in leadership experience, face offs and you're getting a lot
- 11:12Speaker 3: of offense from the guy too. Yeah, and again I'll
- 11:15Speaker 3: say we've got to hand him Buffalo citizenship soon because
- 11:18Speaker 3: just the way he's playing.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Are there any times you can remember getting four goals
- 11:22Speaker 2: on four straight shots like that?
- 11:25Speaker 3: You do not even really think about it three and
- 11:27Speaker 3: three in the second period? Yeah, probably not. I don't recall.
- 11:32Speaker 3: I mean, I could be some type of some type
- 11:35Speaker 3: of record, I don't know, but I didn't even give
- 11:37Speaker 3: it much thought.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Postgame audio is courtesy of MSG and the National Hockey League,
- 11:41Speaker 2: as well as Buffalo Sabers dot Com and x dot
- 11:44Speaker 2: Com slash Buffalo Sabers. All audio rights courtesy of the
- 11:47Speaker 2: Buffalo Sabers.
- 11:48Speaker 3: This is the armchair GM Sports Network.
- 11:51Speaker 2: There was head coach Lindy Rouff. There wasn't even really aware.
- 11:54Speaker 2: The Sabers scored four goals on four straight shots, three
- 11:58Speaker 2: goals on three shots in the second, and then they
- 12:00Speaker 2: came out in the third and got the fourth one.
- 12:02Speaker 2: So again, four goals on four shots. Can't ask for
- 12:06Speaker 2: much more from your offense on that one. So Lindy Rouff,
- 12:09Speaker 2: they were his postgame thoughts. As always, brought to you
- 12:11Speaker 2: by Wild Bill's Auto Repair. Let's continue forward with connecting
- 12:16Speaker 2: with our fans here brought to you by the niagridentri
- 12:19Speaker 2: Clinic creating Actro Smiles in the Niagara region for over
- 12:22Speaker 2: twenty five years. Here's our fan poll Tonight's Well, actually
- 12:26Speaker 2: I put up two. But the first one I asked
- 12:29Speaker 2: was are you staying up for the entirety of the
- 12:31Speaker 2: Sabers after dark game in San Jose for the ten
- 12:33Speaker 2: pm local start here back back east?
- 12:36Speaker 1: Absolutely no question.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Was sixty seven percent going to catch a period of
- 12:40Speaker 2: two seventeen percent going to try with coffee eight percent. Yeah,
- 12:44Speaker 2: I need one right now as well. And waking up
- 12:46Speaker 2: in the am to a win at eight percent. Well
- 12:47Speaker 2: to those eight percent people, congratulations to ye you're gonna
- 12:50Speaker 2: wake up to a five nothing Sabers victory. But the
- 12:53Speaker 2: actual pull tonight is always our player of the game
- 12:55Speaker 2: in the five to nothing road victory in San Jose,
- 12:58Speaker 2: Sam Carrick, Alex Line, Rasmus Dallin or Logan Stanley, Sam
- 13:02Speaker 2: Kerrick and Alex Lyon. At the time that I'm recording
- 13:05Speaker 2: this at two o'clock in the morning, Sam Kerrick and
- 13:08Speaker 2: Alex Lyon are both tied at forty five percent, Logan
- 13:11Speaker 2: Stanley seven percent, Rasmus Dallian three percent. I think we've
- 13:14Speaker 2: put a Rasmus Dallion on this poll almost every single
- 13:16Speaker 2: night if we really wanted to, but a goal and
- 13:18Speaker 2: assist for him tonight. Sam Kerrick with two goals one
- 13:21Speaker 2: and then the one that Stanley banked off of him
- 13:23Speaker 2: and in Alex Lyon obviously with the shutout, and Stanley
- 13:26Speaker 2: with his first two points at the Saber were the
- 13:28Speaker 2: four players that I chose tonight, So honorable mentioned all
- 13:31Speaker 2: four of those guys. But we'll give a co player
- 13:35Speaker 2: of the game tonight, getting connected with our fans, brought
- 13:37Speaker 2: to you by the nagridentro Clinic to goaltender Alex Lyon
- 13:40Speaker 2: for a shutout performance and Sam Krrick for his two goals.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Looking ahead for the Sabers again, as I mentioned, they
- 13:48Speaker 2: are currently first in the Atlantic Division, and they'll they'll
- 13:52Speaker 2: look to finish off this Western Conference road trip out
- 13:56Speaker 2: out west, obviously in Vegas and then going to California.
- 14:00Speaker 2: They've taken the first game in San Jose. They've got
- 14:03Speaker 2: the La Kings for a four o'clock Eastern start on Saturday,
- 14:06Speaker 2: which is a one o'clock local there in Los Angeles,
- 14:10Speaker 2: and then they'll finish off the road trip the next
- 14:12Speaker 2: night in Anaheim for an eight o'clock Eastern start here
- 14:16Speaker 2: and it's a five o'clock local in Anaheim. So they've
- 14:20Speaker 2: started off this trip well with two shutout victories. We'll
- 14:23Speaker 2: see if they can continue it on Saturday and Sunday
- 14:26Speaker 2: before they come home to face the Boston Bruins on Wednesday,
- 14:30Speaker 2: and again just continuing to try to accumulate points here
- 14:33Speaker 2: to hopefully get that X beside their name sooner rather
- 14:36Speaker 2: than later. They're at ninety two points right now through
- 14:39Speaker 2: sixty nine games, first place in the Atlantic, tied with
- 14:42Speaker 2: Carolina for first overall in the Eastern Conference, and continuing
- 14:49Speaker 2: to have a stranglehold over that last team that is
- 14:52Speaker 2: not in the wild card here, which is currently the
- 14:55Speaker 2: New York Islanders. At eighty three points, the Sabers are
- 14:58Speaker 2: nine points up on the Island Unders for the final wildcard.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Spot in the NHL playoffs.
- 15:04Speaker 2: And as far as for a divisional spot, they are
- 15:09Speaker 2: eight points up on the Boston Bruins and the Detroit
- 15:12Speaker 2: Red Wings to Atlantic teams right now, holding the both
- 15:16Speaker 2: of the wildcard spot, so five Atlantic teams would be
- 15:19Speaker 2: in right now, only three Metro teams, so that would
- 15:21Speaker 2: be really interesting to see. But the Sabers continue now
- 15:24Speaker 2: with this three game winning streak, getting back on the
- 15:26Speaker 2: saddle they have been just continue to be phenomenal in
- 15:31Speaker 2: the In the National Hockey League, only the Colorado Avalanche
- 15:34Speaker 2: and the Dallas Stars and technically the Carolina Hurricanes have
- 15:37Speaker 2: better records right now than the Buffalo Sabers, So that's
- 15:41Speaker 2: gonna be it for Tonight's Sabers. After the Horn sportscast
- 15:45Speaker 2: right here on the Armchair GM Sports Network, hopefully you
- 15:49Speaker 2: guys enjoyed this late night edition and hopefully you guys
