- 0:20Speaker 1: Okay, well, we're gonna feed you back. Okay, y'all listen.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Technology is one of those things that is truly, truly,
- 0:30Speaker 1: truly unpredictable, but nonetheless welcome to believe in the Journey
- 0:34Speaker 1: podcast where I'm your host, Trevita Harris. My guest tonight
- 0:38Speaker 1: is Miss DeNisi R. Hilton Harper, and we're basically going
- 0:43Speaker 1: to be talking about loving your authentic self. And she
- 0:48Speaker 1: is a holistic doctor of well being, consultant, doctor of
- 0:54Speaker 1: Oriental medicine, and we're just gonna be talking about that
- 0:58Speaker 1: if she's able to get back all. If not, were
- 1:00Speaker 1: just gonna deal with life throwing us these type of
- 1:03Speaker 1: curve balls, because you know, life is gonna throw some
- 1:08Speaker 1: curve balls at you, and how you handle that is
- 1:11Speaker 1: what is going to dictate how you move on to
- 1:13Speaker 1: the next step. So with that being said, before we
- 1:17Speaker 1: do anything else, we're gonna go to God in prayer. So,
- 1:20Speaker 1: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for bringing us together as
- 1:22Speaker 1: you do each and every time I am in front
- 1:24Speaker 1: of you. Let the words of my mouth fall upon
- 1:26Speaker 1: the ears that need to hear. Let us be a
- 1:30Speaker 1: vessel that you use to bring people closer to you.
- 1:33Speaker 1: We walk every day with the purpose in which we
- 1:36Speaker 1: have been created. So everything that we say and everything
- 1:39Speaker 1: that we do, we hope that it magnifies and glorifies
- 1:42Speaker 1: your name and everything that is significant and important to
- 1:47Speaker 1: you for the purpose of the goodness that you have
- 1:50Speaker 1: brought to each and every one of us. Because without
- 1:53Speaker 1: you we are nothing, and with you we are everything
- 1:55Speaker 1: that we were destined to be. So I thank you
- 1:58Speaker 1: and your precious and holy name Jesus. I pray Amen. Now,
- 2:02Speaker 1: like I said, life is going to throw you some curveballs,
- 2:06Speaker 1: and what you do in those situations is that you
- 2:10Speaker 1: figure out how you can move to the next step,
- 2:13Speaker 1: how you can move forward. Right now, we're being through
- 2:16Speaker 1: a curveball because the last time we have Miss Denisa
- 2:21Speaker 1: on we have the same issue. We have the technical difficulties.
- 2:25Speaker 1: So it's just one of those things. Maybe it's not
- 2:31Speaker 1: her time to be on the show, I'm not sure,
- 2:34Speaker 1: but ultimately, whatever she has to say, it's very very
- 2:38Speaker 1: important and we need to hear it because the enemy
- 2:42Speaker 1: would not be fighting us so hard if it was
- 2:44Speaker 1: not important for what she needed to say and how
- 2:47Speaker 1: we need to love our authentic self. And y'all excuse me,
- 2:50Speaker 1: it's these little fruit flies around here, got some bananas
- 2:53Speaker 1: in here, and they are just trying to take over.
- 2:56Speaker 1: But anyway, life has thrown me a few curveballs, and
- 3:03Speaker 1: one of the main ones that I can think of
- 3:06Speaker 1: where life threw me a huge curveball was when I
- 3:09Speaker 1: had my stroke, because I was really and truly unprepared
- 3:13Speaker 1: for that. I was a thirty year old mom going
- 3:16Speaker 1: through separation, going through a divorce, helping out my sister
- 3:21Speaker 1: and my mom, and trying to raise three children thirteen, ten,
- 3:26Speaker 1: and seven at the time. So I was not prepared
- 3:29Speaker 1: to have a stroke. I was not prepared to actually
- 3:32Speaker 1: have my life turned upside down. So it was a
- 3:37Speaker 1: moment of learning how to maneuver after life had thrown
- 3:43Speaker 1: me in a world wind of something I had not
- 3:47Speaker 1: prepared for. Finance wise, I was prepared, but as far
- 3:52Speaker 1: as physical and mental, I never imagined myself having a
- 3:56Speaker 1: stroke at the edge of thirty and I don't think
- 3:58Speaker 1: anybody else whatever think that something like that would happen.
- 4:02Speaker 1: But I also realized that was a gift and a
- 4:05Speaker 1: curse for me in a situation of learning how to
- 4:12Speaker 1: maneuver with life. And so you're gonna have to go
- 4:20Speaker 1: through life and understand that there's gonna be some detoys,
- 4:24Speaker 1: there's gonna be some curve boks, there's gonna be some
- 4:26Speaker 1: unexpected things that you're going to encounter along your journey
- 4:30Speaker 1: in this life. And what you do in those moments
- 4:34Speaker 1: you can either fold. You can either deal with the
- 4:39Speaker 1: I guess you could say the fallout of asking God,
- 4:43Speaker 1: why did this happen to me? Why did He choose
- 4:46Speaker 1: to put you in that type of situation? But instead
- 4:50Speaker 1: of doing that, that is an opportunity for you to
- 4:53Speaker 1: shift the perspective on what it is that you're supposed
- 4:58Speaker 1: to be learning in that moment, because, as you know,
- 5:00Speaker 1: God will never put more on you than he's already
- 5:04Speaker 1: equipped you with. Not that he gives his toughest battles
- 5:08Speaker 1: to his toughest soldiers. That will cliche I don't necessarily
- 5:13Speaker 1: live by because God already equipped us with everything that
- 5:17Speaker 1: we need in this life. It's up to us to
- 5:20Speaker 1: dig deep when we're faced with certain adversities to figure
- 5:24Speaker 1: out how we're supposed to learn from this and move
- 5:27Speaker 1: on to the next step that is fulfilling the purpose
- 5:30Speaker 1: that we've been created. So like right now, it's like,
- 5:36Speaker 1: I don't know if my guess is gonna make it back.
- 5:39Speaker 1: And I could have been like, well, she ain't here,
- 5:43Speaker 1: let's just in the show. But I was prepared for
- 5:49Speaker 1: this moment. Hiding in the background is usually my best
- 5:56Speaker 1: thing that I tend to do. But I can't hide
- 6:00Speaker 1: no more. Guys like look, get your little butter on
- 6:02Speaker 1: out there in the front. That's the only place where
- 6:04Speaker 1: don't see you anyways, in the front, because we too
- 6:07Speaker 1: short to be in the back. So we got to
- 6:09Speaker 1: be out front and center and speak on the things
- 6:13Speaker 1: that I give you. And so life is truly unexpected.
- 6:19Speaker 1: It is one of those things that you know you've
- 6:22Speaker 1: been gifted and what you do in this life is
- 6:25Speaker 1: going to either be a blessing to someone and also
- 6:30Speaker 1: there's an opportunity for you to be the villain to
- 6:32Speaker 1: someone as well. It all depends on how you look
- 6:35Speaker 1: at the experience that God has brought you, brought you through.
- 6:39Speaker 1: There's gonna be circumstances, there are gonna be situations to
- 6:42Speaker 1: where you're going to question what it is that you're
- 6:45Speaker 1: going through. Why am I in this moment? What is this? God?
- 6:49Speaker 1: Why did you bring me to this? And I think
- 6:52Speaker 1: anytime you are dealing with something like that, that's always
- 6:56Speaker 1: that number one question as to why. So I say
- 7:02Speaker 1: right now, my why is because I can no longer
- 7:05Speaker 1: hide in the background. It is time for me to
- 7:08Speaker 1: be in the forefront of what it is that I've
- 7:10Speaker 1: been called to do. As I said earlier, my stroke
- 7:16Speaker 1: was a turning point for me, and in the beginning,
- 7:19Speaker 1: I was very emotional because I did not know how
- 7:25Speaker 1: I was going to survive that because prognosis was I
- 7:30Speaker 1: had a stroke. I was diagnosed with a brain aneurism
- 7:33Speaker 1: and also a condition called kr malformation that I had
- 7:37Speaker 1: never in my life heard of, and it's I didn't
- 7:40Speaker 1: even know how to actually pronounce it. It has taken
- 7:43Speaker 1: me a few years to really get this name down
- 7:47Speaker 1: pack because it's not something that you hear often. And
- 7:51Speaker 1: what Krii malformation is is a serious neurological condition, and
- 7:54Speaker 1: there are four types of Krii malformation. Mine is not
- 7:58Speaker 1: the most severe. It is kri type one and it's
- 8:03Speaker 1: basically where the cerebellum basically presses down on the back
- 8:06Speaker 1: of the spinal cord and it causes really bad headaches
- 8:11Speaker 1: and muscle weakness, numbness, and tingling in the extremities balance issues.
- 8:22Speaker 1: It affects the voice sometimes. The headaches are usually the
- 8:27Speaker 1: worst thing for most ChRI patients because it's worse than
- 8:35Speaker 1: a typical migraine because there's also a burning sensation that
- 8:38Speaker 1: goes along with the pain. And if you know anything
- 8:41Speaker 1: about how the brain operates, the cerebellum is the part
- 8:46Speaker 1: of the brain that controls really most of your bodily
- 8:51Speaker 1: functions and things of that nature. Looks like my guest
- 8:54Speaker 1: has finally made it back. Hey, rambling but also speaking
- 9:05Speaker 1: on situations. But you know, life is gonna throw us
- 9:09Speaker 1: a curveball, and so you have to be able to
- 9:13Speaker 1: move when it throws you that curveball. So, ladies and gentlemen,
- 9:18Speaker 1: this is Denisia Harper. And as I was telling them,
- 9:22Speaker 1: I gave a brief introduction about who you are and
- 9:25Speaker 1: what you do, and how we're gonna be talking about
- 9:27Speaker 1: how to love your authentic self. So you can give
- 9:33Speaker 1: them another brief introduction of yourself and then we'll go
- 9:36Speaker 1: on into the conversation.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Oh thank you you.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Hopefully this one sticks.
- 9:45Speaker 2: I hope, Oh my goodness.
- 9:50Speaker 3: I was like, oh no, not again.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Listen, And I gave them a background, and I was like,
- 9:56Speaker 1: I'm not even sure if this is her time to
- 9:58Speaker 1: be here, but I do know and understand that you
- 10:01Speaker 1: know that something that you have to say is very
- 10:05Speaker 1: very important because the enemy would not be trying to
- 10:08Speaker 1: censor you if it wasn't important of what you needed
- 10:11Speaker 1: to say. Because anytime I feel like there's a distraction,
- 10:15Speaker 1: there are something that leads you astray, it's always the
- 10:18Speaker 1: enemy that's trying to get the credit to silence the
- 10:21Speaker 1: voice and within you. So something that you are needing
- 10:25Speaker 1: to say tonight for someone to hear, the devil does
- 10:29Speaker 1: not want them to hear. But we gonna get it
- 10:32Speaker 1: done either way.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Yeah, let's do it.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Like yeah, Like, I mean, I'll make it very brief
- 10:41Speaker 2: since I know we're well into the time fed.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Like I am a doctor of Eastern medicine and holistical
- 10:48Speaker 2: being consultant. So it's a medical intuitive I like to say,
- 10:52Speaker 2: it's that I tend to understand people and connect situations
- 10:57Speaker 2: and themselves as far as they're relationships with themselves and
- 11:01Speaker 2: with others through what shows up in the body, so
- 11:05Speaker 2: that like what people might you know, call symptoms, I
- 11:10Speaker 2: actually refer to them as signals just really informing us
- 11:14Speaker 2: about a lot of aspects of ourselves in our journey.
- 11:19Speaker 2: And then also you know, like what is it that
- 11:21Speaker 2: we're really what is it that we're really wanting to do?
- 11:25Speaker 2: Who is it that we're really desiring to be? And
- 11:30Speaker 2: I have seen that where it's like, yeah, what might
- 11:33Speaker 2: seem like it's this menstrual issue, which it is. There's
- 11:38Speaker 2: also a component of who you are at your core
- 11:42Speaker 2: and your authentic expression and whether or not that's actually
- 11:47Speaker 2: coming through or the quality of it. And so it's
- 11:53Speaker 2: like I love just reading the body in that way
- 11:55Speaker 2: and witnessing people in their journeys and seeing.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Like there are.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Attempts at being whole. There are attempts at being feeling
- 12:06Speaker 2: whole and complete, and for those who don't know that,
- 12:10Speaker 2: the root meaning of perfect is actually whole and complete.
- 12:14Speaker 2: So that is why I do believe that we really
- 12:16Speaker 2: are perfect beings. And it's really more of a journey
- 12:21Speaker 2: of how and seeing that we are when people tend
- 12:27Speaker 2: to think that they aren't. That's to me making way
- 12:31Speaker 2: for things to just kind of fill gaps because you
- 12:34Speaker 2: don't believe it, but your soul knows that your whole,
- 12:39Speaker 2: and so it's desiring to fill that, and so it's
- 12:43Speaker 2: like with what are you filling it with?
- 12:46Speaker 3: True?
- 12:47Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Or how does that make
- 12:49Speaker 2: you open and susceptible to what others are saying that
- 12:56Speaker 2: they're going to push on you? Because it's really that
- 13:00Speaker 2: really underlying core of I just want to be who
- 13:04Speaker 2: I am and I want to express this, and so
- 13:09Speaker 2: I believe that it starts with us, Like even if
- 13:13Speaker 2: it's this journey of like, oh is.
- 13:15Speaker 3: It really that I am? I really that perfect? And is?
- 13:18Speaker 3: It came to me.
- 13:19Speaker 2: It came to me actually when I was in meditation
- 13:24Speaker 2: and praying about it, and it that whole notion of
- 13:29Speaker 2: perfect came in and I was just like what because
- 13:31Speaker 2: I had that whole same thought too, like well, nobody's perfect.
- 13:35Speaker 2: And I was like, I'm gonna need you to think
- 13:37Speaker 2: about that, like I really need you to explore this.
- 13:40Speaker 2: And it's shown me the potential in people where they
- 13:46Speaker 2: don't see it.
- 13:47Speaker 3: I see it.
- 13:48Speaker 2: And it's more of like how can I now, I question,
- 13:52Speaker 2: I ask myself, how can I speak that into existence
- 13:54Speaker 2: for them?
- 13:55Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 13:56Speaker 3: You know so?
- 13:58Speaker 2: And it's just that my way or my life lenses
- 14:00Speaker 2: through what shows up in the physical body and seeing
- 14:05Speaker 2: how that's delivering messages for them.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Well, that's a good way to look at it. I
- 14:12Speaker 1: think for most people, we do tend to see more
- 14:16Speaker 1: of our imperfections before we see the perfection parts of ourselves.
- 14:22Speaker 1: For me, I can say that after having my stroke,
- 14:27Speaker 1: I thought that, you know, I was broken in a
- 14:31Speaker 1: sense of the wholeness that I once knew. I have
- 14:35Speaker 1: to rebuild this part of me because I have to
- 14:39Speaker 1: learn how to walk again, and like, okay, and then
- 14:44Speaker 1: when I had a major flare again a few years later,
- 14:48Speaker 1: I had to learn how to walk, and then I
- 14:50Speaker 1: had to learn how to talk again. So it was like, okay,
- 14:54Speaker 1: I am not the version of this of the person
- 14:57Speaker 1: I once knew. I'm now a new version, and I've
- 15:01Speaker 1: had to learn to embrace the new version of myself
- 15:05Speaker 1: where the things that I had lost I now regained.
- 15:09Speaker 1: But the new version is actually, in my opinion, better
- 15:13Speaker 1: than the old version in a sense, because that old
- 15:17Speaker 1: version was like very people pleasing in a sense because
- 15:25Speaker 1: I didn't want to offend anyone. But after having that stroke,
- 15:30Speaker 1: it was like, okay, look here, you didn't care about
- 15:33Speaker 1: hurting my feelings, you didn't care about the things that
- 15:35Speaker 1: you were saying to me that were hurtful. So now
- 15:38Speaker 1: I'm in a space to where I'm not giving you
- 15:41Speaker 1: the opportunity to be hurtful and not stand up for myself.
- 15:47Speaker 1: So I'm okay with setting those boundaries, okay with moving
- 15:52Speaker 1: what I need to remove and replacing with what feels
- 15:56Speaker 1: good and comfortable for me. And that hasn't been easy,
- 16:01Speaker 1: but it's been a blessing and it's been well worth it.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Oh yeah, thank you for sharing that. I'm just learning
- 16:10Speaker 2: this history of yours.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Yeah, it's beautiful.
- 16:14Speaker 2: And like, if if I may point out something was
- 16:17Speaker 2: that it's something that not not just listening to you
- 16:21Speaker 2: and your journey, but I hear it with other people
- 16:24Speaker 2: as well, right like, where.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Sometimes I think that we're like, we're.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Going after the past, Yeah, when we're when sometimes I'm like,
- 16:37Speaker 2: this actually can be an invitation to creating something different
- 16:42Speaker 2: or a co creation if you will, for those that
- 16:46Speaker 2: believe in God, universe or high being, where it's like, yeah,
- 16:52Speaker 2: those days of just going along, how pastive we really were?
- 16:58Speaker 2: Right until there is something that comes into that conscious awareness,
- 17:03Speaker 2: and it might be something in the form of a stroke,
- 17:06Speaker 2: right like or some other physical condition and not yet
- 17:12Speaker 2: that gets you to that point of like hmm, no,
- 17:16Speaker 2: I really have to sit with this and yeah, like
- 17:21Speaker 2: what has been going on in my life? Like and
- 17:23Speaker 2: then yeah, you get to that point why am I
- 17:26Speaker 2: trying to go back to that? Like and and it's funny,
- 17:29Speaker 2: it's very funny to watch when people get to that
- 17:33Speaker 2: realization where I'm asking like what, especially like moms that
- 17:39Speaker 2: they would go through pregnancy and birth, and then it's
- 17:42Speaker 2: this whole social like snap back, snapping back, and it's like,
- 17:48Speaker 2: to me, you you're missing the actual transition, like the
- 17:55Speaker 2: transition and evolution for you, and you're being as you're
- 17:59Speaker 2: focusing on the past, whereas like right now, it's like, oh,
- 18:03Speaker 2: total invitation to a whole other version of you that
- 18:08Speaker 2: you can consciously create right now and asked like what
- 18:14Speaker 2: is it that you're really desiring? What really is it?
- 18:19Speaker 2: And like people pleasing boundaries burnout, like all of that
- 18:23Speaker 2: stuff becomes very apparent.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Yeah, very very apparent.
- 18:29Speaker 2: And I think what happens is when we're in those
- 18:31Speaker 2: vulnerable states, like those physically vulnerable states, is it's so
- 18:37Speaker 2: much clarity that comes and I think like we're also
- 18:42Speaker 2: processing that clarity because it may we may now see
- 18:47Speaker 2: something that was there the whole time, and we just
- 18:49Speaker 2: didn't want to see it exactly.
- 18:52Speaker 1: And that's one of the things that I realized for
- 18:54Speaker 1: myself is that having to sit in this space because
- 18:59Speaker 1: I was unable to move, I was unable to get around,
- 19:03Speaker 1: and all I had was myself and God, and it
- 19:05Speaker 1: was like, Okay, what am I supposed to be doing
- 19:08Speaker 1: in these moments? And am I a bad person?
- 19:13Speaker 3: Like?
- 19:13Speaker 1: What did I do to deserve this? Like you go
- 19:15Speaker 1: through all of those questions, you go through all of
- 19:18Speaker 1: those emotions, and you try to figure out what were
- 19:22Speaker 1: you doing that led to this? And then it's like, Okay, yeah,
- 19:28Speaker 1: I know I wasn't always a great person, but I
- 19:32Speaker 1: felt like what I was doing in that moment was
- 19:34Speaker 1: necessary and learning to be okay to being the villain
- 19:39Speaker 1: in somebody's story and the experience that we had was necessary.
- 19:44Speaker 1: But it was also to push me out of comfortable
- 19:48Speaker 1: spaces into spaces where I was actually supposed to grow
- 19:52Speaker 1: and build and learn more about myself. And in those moments,
- 19:58Speaker 1: I learned the resilience of what I was dealing with
- 20:02Speaker 1: wasn't the end, but it was a way of transforming,
- 20:06Speaker 1: and since then it's been like, transformation is one of
- 20:12Speaker 1: my big things. That's why I love butterflies because I
- 20:15Speaker 1: look at you know, yeah.
- 20:17Speaker 3: I saw the head as you were talking, Yes.
- 20:21Speaker 1: And so I look at butterflies because of what they
- 20:25Speaker 1: They start out as the calor pillar, and then they
- 20:28Speaker 1: go into the cocoon, and once they're in that cocoon,
- 20:33Speaker 1: they're in a whole bunch of mess, which is what
- 20:36Speaker 1: life ultimately is. You're gonna get in some sticky situations,
- 20:42Speaker 1: but if you actually go through what you have to
- 20:46Speaker 1: go through, you come out on top. And when you
- 20:49Speaker 1: come out on top, you have this beautiful transformation that
- 20:54Speaker 1: happens on the inside. Now, the other thing is that
- 20:58Speaker 1: you may never butterflies on that so we get to
- 21:00Speaker 1: look at their own ways, but the people around them
- 21:03Speaker 1: get to see and experience that. And so looking at
- 21:07Speaker 1: what butterflies represent, it's it's the transformation, it's the rebirth,
- 21:13Speaker 1: it's all of those things. And we are forever changing
- 21:18Speaker 1: if we desire to look at ourselves and to look
- 21:21Speaker 1: at the growth, and to not look at situations as
- 21:26Speaker 1: this is. This was meant to break me, No, this
- 21:30Speaker 1: was meant to build you into who you were destined
- 21:32Speaker 1: to be all along. You can decide if you want
- 21:36Speaker 1: to stay there, but if you choose to stay there,
- 21:39Speaker 1: then you're missing out on the greatest version of yourself.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:43Speaker 2: And another thing with them too is in that whole soup,
- 21:47Speaker 2: like you actually realize that even as the caterpillar, they
- 21:53Speaker 2: actually contained everything for that transformation.
- 21:57Speaker 3: With them, Yes, they actually can taint it within.
- 22:01Speaker 2: And that's so that's the other thing, Like, that's the
- 22:04Speaker 2: other aspect of this, right, is that where it is.
- 22:07Speaker 2: And this is why I say that your whole is
- 22:10Speaker 2: this is just now is a journey of realizing this
- 22:13Speaker 2: wholeness of you because our seeing if you're believing that
- 22:18Speaker 2: you're broken and disconnected and always need of repair and
- 22:23Speaker 2: all of this stuff, it really does make that room
- 22:26Speaker 2: like it to me is disempowering because that sets you
- 22:31Speaker 2: up to be plugging yourself into other things and other
- 22:34Speaker 2: people that are outside of you for that transformation when
- 22:38Speaker 2: really it's within. Just like I said with the caterpillar,
- 22:42Speaker 2: they have everything. And then at the same time it's
- 22:46Speaker 2: this like certain enzymes and certain biochemicals are actually turned
- 22:51Speaker 2: on and off a certain phases. They just know they trust,
- 22:56Speaker 2: they trust the evolution because they're going to have to
- 23:00Speaker 2: it melts, right. And then at the same time too,
- 23:04Speaker 2: they know that as much as it is that they
- 23:08Speaker 2: might want help, they if someone were to try to
- 23:13Speaker 2: help them get out of that crystalist, they will die.
- 23:19Speaker 2: So it's like it's this, it's this innate knowing. Right,
- 23:25Speaker 2: they know where to like where they want to like
- 23:27Speaker 2: form their crystalists. They know where to go, right, and
- 23:32Speaker 2: then they trust that what happens inside is what's supposed
- 23:35Speaker 2: to happen inside, and then all that melts, dissolves, and something.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Else just gets created.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and that's us. And it's not to say
- 23:47Speaker 2: like it's this. So it's this thing like where I
- 23:53Speaker 2: feel like sometimes we are trying to It's like sometimes
- 23:59Speaker 2: we're trying to like be individual, right, yes, and but
- 24:04Speaker 2: it's like there's actually a paradox here because it's this
- 24:08Speaker 2: you're you're you're one and at the same time your
- 24:12Speaker 2: reflection of the whole like the connective of what is
- 24:16Speaker 2: what I call it. And then but it's through you
- 24:19Speaker 2: being you that you're actually being your purpose to the connective.
- 24:25Speaker 2: So like even then when people are trying to they're
- 24:28Speaker 2: saying like they're trying to discover their purpose and all
- 24:31Speaker 2: of that, jazz I start looking at well, where are
- 24:34Speaker 2: you you? Because if you as you right, and it'll
- 24:40Speaker 2: come with such ease. When you're you, it's like magically,
- 24:46Speaker 2: all of a sudden, it's like I just know how
- 24:48Speaker 2: to do this, or like these people just come in
- 24:50Speaker 2: front of me and this is and it's like, oh,
- 24:53Speaker 2: that's because that's your divine assignment. And when that is it,
- 25:00Speaker 2: then that will come and then will there be some
- 25:05Speaker 2: bumps speed bumps?
- 25:06Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 25:07Speaker 2: Will there be some trials? Yeah? And at the same time,
- 25:10Speaker 2: just like what you pointed out right, like it's that
- 25:14Speaker 2: time where there's some version that needs to also be birthed,
- 25:19Speaker 2: and that means that we might have to the crystalist
- 25:23Speaker 2: might have to be built, and then that dissolution is
- 25:27Speaker 2: going to have to happen. And it's like dissolution possibly
- 25:29Speaker 2: of the physical sense, but then dissolution of beliefs and
- 25:32Speaker 2: thoughts as well to make way for what is now
- 25:39Speaker 2: coming true for you, right, And so it's like how
- 25:46Speaker 2: to me, it becomes how do you support someone in that?
- 25:50Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 25:50Speaker 1: Yeah, like how would you actually support someone going through
- 25:55Speaker 1: and recognizing within themselves where they are in there. I
- 26:00Speaker 1: guess you could say they're transformative stage, because that is
- 26:04Speaker 1: what it is. But I don't think we oftentimes, I
- 26:08Speaker 1: don't think we recognize that when we are. I guess
- 26:13Speaker 1: you could say, well, we're not being entertained by the
- 26:16Speaker 1: things that used to entertain us. Are the things and
- 26:20Speaker 1: the spaces that were used to Yeah, so big.
- 26:24Speaker 4: You start to me like, I noticed that my face
- 26:28Speaker 4: did a micro expression, but it's like a big it's
- 26:33Speaker 4: because I because to me, like I feel it and
- 26:38Speaker 4: viscerally so like I feel in my body.
- 26:40Speaker 3: So it's like it is irritant.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Like you will find yourself so irritated and annoyed, and
- 26:53Speaker 2: just you start, even if it doesn't come out like.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Do that. And I'm like, and I get so much.
- 27:04Speaker 1: People will constantly say fix your face, and I'm like,
- 27:08Speaker 1: I didn't even know my face was doing something. My
- 27:12Speaker 1: face has its own language, and I try to keep
- 27:17Speaker 1: her under control, but she has her own personality, she
- 27:22Speaker 1: has her own thing that she wants to do. And
- 27:25Speaker 1: it's like I didn't know. Like my sons tell me
- 27:29Speaker 1: all the time, I didn't need a public speaking class.
- 27:32Speaker 1: I need a facial correction class because it's always speaking
- 27:37Speaker 1: out of turn, you know, and I'm trying to work
- 27:40Speaker 1: on that, but it never works. And so I think
- 27:45Speaker 1: when I get I have realized for myself when I've
- 27:49Speaker 1: out grown spaces and people because my face will do
- 27:54Speaker 1: something and they're like, why are you looking at them
- 27:57Speaker 1: like that? And I'm like, I didn't even know, oh
- 28:00Speaker 1: I was doing that, but I did, and obviously I
- 28:05Speaker 1: don't care for them, so let me just go on
- 28:09Speaker 1: this way or let them be over there.
- 28:12Speaker 2: And I think.
- 28:16Speaker 3: Yes, and they don't.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Yeah, like if you it's like, it's so funny because
- 28:23Speaker 2: because I mean really at some point, so there are
- 28:26Speaker 2: some people in some camps that talk they want to
- 28:31Speaker 2: say like oh, b high vibe, right, good vibes. And
- 28:37Speaker 2: I cautioned people in that. And the reason why is
- 28:42Speaker 2: because it's a judgment, and it's a judgment of like
- 28:48Speaker 2: a good or bad, right, And the thing is is
- 28:51Speaker 2: that I don't think that it's a good or bad
- 28:54Speaker 2: because what happens is I think that people don't understand
- 28:58Speaker 2: like the frequencies of our body, like different areas of
- 29:02Speaker 2: our body. So like remember my background's also in Eastern medicine,
- 29:06Speaker 2: so there are hurts that at different acupuncture points are measured, right,
- 29:15Speaker 2: that match these sound frequencies, and so it's like when
- 29:19Speaker 2: people actually look at sound and then they start understanding
- 29:23Speaker 2: like amplitudes and vibrations and frequencies and all of that.
- 29:27Speaker 2: So people sit there and say not to be low vibe, right,
- 29:31Speaker 2: I'm like, you're denying aspects of yourself because if you're
- 29:35Speaker 2: speaking and hurts, there are pieces, there are parts of
- 29:39Speaker 2: us that literally will have a resonance that is at
- 29:43Speaker 2: a lower hurts numerically, right, and then some that are higher.
- 29:49Speaker 2: And the thing is is that we actually need all
- 29:52Speaker 2: of them. And so when I think that, like when
- 29:58Speaker 2: we're evolving, and then let's just say that we do
- 30:02Speaker 2: comment to a scenario or a situation where it's like, dang,
- 30:05Speaker 2: I used to enjoy that, or yeah, I used to
- 30:07Speaker 2: enjoy them, and then you it becomes so in your
- 30:12Speaker 2: conscious awareness that Okay, so for right now, this is
- 30:18Speaker 2: not ringing true for where I'm at presently, and so
- 30:28Speaker 2: there might need to be some space created, right, or
- 30:32Speaker 2: or that means that there might there's something else that
- 30:35Speaker 2: I'm resonating with, And I think, like, when you're aware
- 30:40Speaker 2: of that and you act on that. But sometimes this
- 30:44Speaker 2: is where the boundaries and people pleasing and stuff like
- 30:47Speaker 2: that can come into play, because that will simultaneously activate
- 30:51Speaker 2: because next thing, you know is for some it's like,
- 30:54Speaker 2: oh but their family, Oh but I grew up with them.
- 30:59Speaker 2: I know, I've known them for seven, eight, ten, twelve years.
- 31:02Speaker 3: Right, Like, we'll.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Start justifying to maintain that type of contact. And but
- 31:10Speaker 2: meanwhile it's that that whole face that like that that
- 31:16Speaker 2: was It may come out facially, but like it's actually
- 31:19Speaker 2: also like your nervous system, So it's it's signaling. It's
- 31:26Speaker 2: telling you something right like. And so so if you
- 31:32Speaker 2: deny that and you want to just go ahead and continue,
- 31:37Speaker 2: more than likely there'll be another way it'll express itself.
- 31:41Speaker 1: And it does. And that's one thing since, like I said,
- 31:46Speaker 1: having the stroke and being diagnosed with KR and malformation,
- 31:49Speaker 1: it's one of those things that I really and truly
- 31:52Speaker 1: do pay more attention to the signals that my body
- 31:55Speaker 1: is given me. I am still very stubborn in hert
- 32:00Speaker 1: it when it comes to certain things. So I will
- 32:02Speaker 1: be completely honest about that. But because number one, I
- 32:06Speaker 1: don't like to go to the doctor because it's just
- 32:09Speaker 1: irritating because they never fully listen to the issue of
- 32:13Speaker 1: what I'm actually telling them is wrong.
- 32:17Speaker 3: Yeah, that is.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Just went through that experience and witnessed it today, and
- 32:24Speaker 2: I I just wanted to invite him to a class
- 32:36Speaker 2: of listening and understanding that you know your I'm like,
- 32:41Speaker 2: your response right now, dude is literally defensive. So that's
- 32:47Speaker 2: tell me actually more about.
- 32:49Speaker 1: You than it actually is me. Yes, yeah, And like,
- 32:54Speaker 1: I'm so big on advocating for yourself when it comes
- 32:58Speaker 1: to what you feel. And one thing me and my
- 33:01Speaker 1: doctor always have this argument about is if I'm telling
- 33:05Speaker 1: you something in me does not feel right, it feels off,
- 33:10Speaker 1: I need you to hear me because I've been in
- 33:12Speaker 1: this body longer than you've been in what you're doing.
- 33:16Speaker 1: So therefore I have a little bit more knowledge about
- 33:20Speaker 1: what does not feel right. And just because you have
- 33:24Speaker 1: these numbers over here in this chart that you've been
- 33:26Speaker 1: reading does not actually line up with the physical that
- 33:31Speaker 1: I am feeling. And I'm telling you that this is
- 33:34Speaker 1: what I'm going through. Like prime example, I have ki
- 33:39Speaker 1: my information. My doctor had no idea how to treat
- 33:43Speaker 1: it because number one, he's a primary care provider. This
- 33:45Speaker 1: is a neurological issue, and so me telling him, Okay, yes,
- 33:50Speaker 1: my blood pressure is elevated. Number One, you did not
- 33:53Speaker 1: give me an opportunity to actually sit in the room first.
- 33:57Speaker 1: You pick me up. You basically brought me from the
- 34:00Speaker 1: waiting area to back here and immediately took my blood
- 34:04Speaker 1: pressure the instant I set down. That is the wrong
- 34:07Speaker 1: way to check my blood pressure. You have to give
- 34:10Speaker 1: my body a chance to actually settle in the room.
- 34:14Speaker 1: Because rising blood pressure, my blood pressure is gonna rise
- 34:18Speaker 1: from seated position to a walking position to now a
- 34:21Speaker 1: resting position again. So therefore it's going to read high. Also,
- 34:26Speaker 1: it's going to be high if I am in pain,
- 34:29Speaker 1: If I am telling you I am in pain, my
- 34:31Speaker 1: blood pressure is going to be elevated. So give me
- 34:35Speaker 1: a few minutes and let me sit and it will
- 34:37Speaker 1: be normal. Never wanted to listen, Never had any clue
- 34:41Speaker 1: that I didn't know what I was talking about until
- 34:44Speaker 1: a colleague of his was diagnosed with the same condition. Now,
- 34:49Speaker 1: his colleague was this, I am not so. I also
- 34:54Speaker 1: told him that having this condition, they recommend a decompression
- 35:01Speaker 1: brain surgery. That's great, However, it is beneficial more for
- 35:06Speaker 1: people who are under the age of twenty five. His
- 35:09Speaker 1: colleague was in her mid fifties or something like that,
- 35:14Speaker 1: and I said, Okay, that's great, that's wonderful. However, has
- 35:18Speaker 1: she had a second opinion, because if they're recommending brain surgery,
- 35:23Speaker 1: that definitely is not the way to go, because the outcome,
- 35:27Speaker 1: even though all of the statistics that you guys are
- 35:30Speaker 1: reading states that she may be okay, she will have
- 35:35Speaker 1: a six week recovery time, maybe even longer. However, that
- 35:40Speaker 1: does not guarantee. This is just paper information, but taken
- 35:45Speaker 1: from somebody who deals with this condition, who's done a
- 35:48Speaker 1: lot of research as well, who's actually talked to people
- 35:51Speaker 1: who have had this surgery, and they're all over the
- 35:54Speaker 1: age of twenty five. There have been a few who
- 35:57Speaker 1: have made it, by the grace of God, that have
- 36:00Speaker 1: actually been at the threshold of twenty five and don't
- 36:03Speaker 1: have any symptoms, but most of them are under the
- 36:05Speaker 1: age of twenty five who literally had no symptoms. But
- 36:09Speaker 1: after twenty five, your brain is fully developed, you're not
- 36:12Speaker 1: doing anymore whatever. Well, his colleague had the surgery, she
- 36:18Speaker 1: ended up losing her vision in one eye. She was
- 36:21Speaker 1: no longer able to work anymore. And he was just
- 36:25Speaker 1: trying to tell me convince me beforehand that she was
- 36:28Speaker 1: going to be back to work. It was going to
- 36:30Speaker 1: be no problems. I said, yeah, that sounds good. Even
- 36:36Speaker 1: the second opinion she got, they all were on the
- 36:38Speaker 1: same page. I said, however, that is not the case usually.
- 36:43Speaker 1: I said, But I wish her and you guys all
- 36:46Speaker 1: the best, but I guarantee you this is not going
- 36:49Speaker 1: to be the outcome. So when I went back for
- 36:51Speaker 1: my follow up perfoment, I asked, he said, yeah, she's
- 36:53Speaker 1: not doing too well. Didn't think so. But it's one
- 36:57Speaker 1: of those things where they don't tend to live because
- 37:01Speaker 1: you don't look like what their storybook is telling them,
- 37:06Speaker 1: the medical journals and all of that that it doesn't
- 37:10Speaker 1: look like and it doesn't fit in the stereotype. Because
- 37:13Speaker 1: number one, he's constly telling me that I am overweight,
- 37:17Speaker 1: that I need to weigh ninety pounds, and I'm like,
- 37:22Speaker 1: I have had three children, I'm almost fifty. That's not
- 37:28Speaker 1: likely for me. If I weigh ninety five pounds to
- 37:32Speaker 1: one hundred and five pounds, I will literally look like
- 37:35Speaker 1: a strong crackhead. That is not where I'm trying to go.
- 37:38Speaker 1: That is not what I want to look like. So
- 37:41Speaker 1: therefore this is not for me. He's like, well, I'm
- 37:45Speaker 1: looking I said, are you looking at it for a
- 37:47Speaker 1: black woman? Are you looking at it for your wife?
- 37:50Speaker 1: And he was like, well, you need to see how
- 37:52Speaker 1: my wife looks. She's had kids. I said, yeah, your
- 37:55Speaker 1: wife is also hit. She's not black. There's a whole
- 38:01Speaker 1: list of things that are genetically different than what your
- 38:06Speaker 1: medical journal says and your wife's genetic makeup. We are
- 38:11Speaker 1: two different versions of females. So therefore what you have
- 38:17Speaker 1: here is not going to fit for me. But it's
- 38:20Speaker 1: just one of those things of learning when to listen
- 38:24Speaker 1: and when to remove yourself from people who don't listen
- 38:27Speaker 1: to you. And so we argue a lot, but ultimately
- 38:31Speaker 1: he ends up listening because I stand fast on what
- 38:36Speaker 1: I'm saying. And he's like, you have to do this
- 38:40Speaker 1: every time, I said, because most of the time, I said,
- 38:42Speaker 1: nine times out of ten, I'm always right. I said,
- 38:45Speaker 1: So it doesn't matter that your book is telling you
- 38:49Speaker 1: one thing, it's not doing what it's supposed to do
- 38:52Speaker 1: for me, because you guess most of the time, I said,
- 38:57Speaker 1: and I can do the same things that you. I
- 39:00Speaker 1: can read the same journals that you've read. However, they
- 39:04Speaker 1: don't always work for me, so I have to figure
- 39:06Speaker 1: out what works best for me. And when you figure
- 39:12Speaker 1: out those things in that space of transitioning, loving yourself,
- 39:19Speaker 1: paying attention to what your body is telling you, paying
- 39:22Speaker 1: attention when you don't feel comfortable around people and in spaces.
- 39:26Speaker 1: Because I can't do crowds. I can't I pick up
- 39:31Speaker 1: on all of the energies that are around me when
- 39:34Speaker 1: I'm in big spaces, and so if I get a
- 39:38Speaker 1: sense of this is not a safe space, I have
- 39:42Speaker 1: to immediately leave. And people find that weird, but I
- 39:49Speaker 1: just I honestly, as I've gotten older and I've gotten
- 39:53Speaker 1: more in tune with myself, I'm okay with removing myself
- 39:58Speaker 1: from spaces that I feel the energy shift. If that
- 40:03Speaker 1: makes sense.
- 40:04Speaker 3: Oh to me, definitely makes sense.
- 40:06Speaker 2: Like but you don't know that, well now you do,
- 40:12Speaker 2: but yeah, no, if that makes sense to me, definitely,
- 40:14Speaker 2: And like I'll.
- 40:18Speaker 3: It's so funny.
- 40:18Speaker 2: Like you were talking about the two reasons that with
- 40:21Speaker 2: your blood pressure, and I'm like, well, a third reason
- 40:23Speaker 2: is because you anticipate, like your body prepares to go
- 40:26Speaker 2: into battle every time, so your blood pressure is going
- 40:30Speaker 2: to reflect that, right, like it's going to reflect. I'm here,
- 40:34Speaker 2: I am again preparing myself to go into battle and
- 40:37Speaker 2: with this PCP right, And those are those times where
- 40:45Speaker 2: it's like I ask people like, what what do you like?
- 40:51Speaker 2: Is that what you want every single time you go in?
- 40:53Speaker 2: Or do you want something else? And then if you
- 40:55Speaker 2: do start interviewing right like and looking at the other
- 41:00Speaker 2: looking at other options, and I do think this people
- 41:04Speaker 2: don't know actually, Like it's so annoying to me when
- 41:07Speaker 2: I hear this, like, oh, this is evidence based practices,
- 41:11Speaker 2: and I'm like, there's also practice based evidence. Yes, And
- 41:18Speaker 2: I got that from someone else, like Lindsay font Leroy
- 41:21Speaker 2: is who I heard it from. You heard someone out there,
- 41:24Speaker 2: like anybody finds out, like that's who it came from.
- 41:28Speaker 2: But there is this, it's practice based evidence. That's where
- 41:32Speaker 2: a lot of a lot of like the quote unquote
- 41:36Speaker 2: indigenous medical practices came from. I mean it was people
- 41:40Speaker 2: literally doing things and then making observations and taking note.
- 41:44Speaker 2: That is science. So when people even say that, like
- 41:48Speaker 2: they try to use that and I'm like, which, what
- 41:49Speaker 2: do you think science is? Like I think all of
- 41:51Speaker 2: y'all need to go back to science. And one on one,
- 41:53Speaker 2: because really it comes down to, oh, there's a problem.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Oh I have a hypothesis about this, let's test and
- 42:00Speaker 2: then let's see what our conclusions are. Right, That's what
- 42:03Speaker 2: it is. And that's how a lot of these were done.
- 42:06Speaker 2: Like they just knew, right, like, oh, well, this this
- 42:11Speaker 2: herb is growing right here, and our environment in nature
- 42:15Speaker 2: is very smart, very intelligent. And this is that's why
- 42:18Speaker 2: I love listening to those who are around animals or
- 42:23Speaker 2: like botanists and and and so sometimes they're in their
- 42:27Speaker 2: own silos, but like when I can luckily find like
- 42:31Speaker 2: some some type of like article or something where they're
- 42:34Speaker 2: all talking like and it's because what's really cool is
- 42:38Speaker 2: like what it is that they're seeing so like they
- 42:42Speaker 2: can't observe and this happens, like so I'm in Florida.
- 42:45Speaker 3: Right, and all the things.
- 42:49Speaker 2: That sticks out is especially like our last hurricane seasons
- 42:52Speaker 2: have been really out of the ordinary for us, right.
- 42:56Speaker 2: But those who work in nature with they've been seen
- 43:02Speaker 2: the change and behaviors of the animals, of the insects
- 43:07Speaker 2: and whatever would be pollinating slash not pollinating, right, And oftentimes.
- 43:14Speaker 3: Like it's it's the nature is so wise, but.
- 43:19Speaker 2: You're not where most of us aren't trained to look
- 43:22Speaker 2: for that right and to see that. And so it's
- 43:27Speaker 2: like when when we can't actually get in those places
- 43:31Speaker 2: that we can learn that, you'll you'll you'll pick it up.
- 43:34Speaker 2: And like Chinese medicine, a lot of it if you
- 43:36Speaker 2: hear it, it's nature based languaging, right, like, so there's fire,
- 43:41Speaker 2: there's earth, there's metal, it's.
- 43:42Speaker 3: Heat, it's cold as damp.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Like a lot of that was describing not just what
- 43:48Speaker 2: the environment nature environment was, but also they're like, we're
- 43:52Speaker 2: a reflection of nature, and so like you can see
- 43:57Speaker 2: that those qualities and those things pop up and within
- 44:01Speaker 2: the body to reflect and then to see like how
- 44:05Speaker 2: we're responding to our environment. And so when I hear
- 44:10Speaker 2: when people talk about like the evidence based practices and
- 44:15Speaker 2: blah blah blah, and I'm like, yeah, where'd you get
- 44:17Speaker 2: that from? And then I'll invite them, you know, Okay,
- 44:20Speaker 2: Now I want you to dig a little bit deeper
- 44:22Speaker 2: because a lot of people don't know that when some
- 44:24Speaker 2: of these some of these studies end up Now mind you,
- 44:27Speaker 2: this is not me anti studies. I actually love reading
- 44:29Speaker 2: and seeing what they come up with when they do
- 44:31Speaker 2: their experiments, because I find it all like an experiment.
- 44:34Speaker 2: Our lives aren't a big experiment. We're testing all the time.
- 44:37Speaker 2: That's what my whole date yourself model is about.
- 44:40Speaker 3: And so but.
- 44:41Speaker 2: It's like when you understand so journals, what gets published
- 44:49Speaker 2: may not actually be what was raw data because a
- 44:53Speaker 2: publication would have come back and said, we're not going
- 44:56Speaker 2: to publish that. Well, what do we need to change
- 44:59Speaker 2: for it to be public because they need to have
- 45:02Speaker 2: their name published, and so some like people don't know
- 45:06Speaker 2: really what can happen for this information to come out,
- 45:11Speaker 2: And then you're asking who funded it? Who funded that study?
- 45:17Speaker 2: And then a lot of conclusion conclusion statements are made
- 45:22Speaker 2: that are like for statistical evidence, some of those actually
- 45:27Speaker 2: only require ten participants exactly, so, and then you have
- 45:32Speaker 2: to ask what were the qualities of those participants exactly
- 45:37Speaker 2: where were they all of these facts?
- 45:46Speaker 1: When I ask those questions, they're like, well, what do
- 45:49Speaker 1: you mean by that? No, there's circumstances, there's environmental factors
- 45:55Speaker 1: that play into these people. So where did you get
- 45:58Speaker 1: this information? How were the people in the studies actually
- 46:03Speaker 1: equipped to be a participant in the study, Like what
- 46:07Speaker 1: were there like and when I start asking all this,
- 46:10Speaker 1: They're like, well, what do you what do you mean
- 46:12Speaker 1: by all of that? Like why, And I'm like no,
- 46:15Speaker 1: like you want me Like me and my daughter, we
- 46:17Speaker 1: got into it about this one particular medication that he
- 46:20Speaker 1: wanted me to take, and I was like, I'm not
- 46:22Speaker 1: taking it because you're not giving me a reason. You're
- 46:25Speaker 1: trying to treat a symptom, but you're not trying to
- 46:28Speaker 1: find the cause. So I'm not taking the medication until
- 46:32Speaker 1: we find the cause. Like if I wanted to take
- 46:35Speaker 1: my car in to get an all change, but you're
- 46:39Speaker 1: telling me I have a flat tire that has nothing
- 46:42Speaker 1: to do with the reason I came in, Like, I
- 46:45Speaker 1: need you to find the reason why I'm here, not
- 46:49Speaker 1: to pre to cause another symptom, like and he's like,
- 46:54Speaker 1: why do you always do this? I'm like, because there
- 46:57Speaker 1: are multiple reasons why this symptom started. I need the
- 47:04Speaker 1: cause because I don't want to have to deal with
- 47:07Speaker 1: this again. So we can find the cast, we can
- 47:10Speaker 1: eliminate the symptom. Like it's just that simple, but you're
- 47:14Speaker 1: making it complicated. But now you won't need to be
- 47:17Speaker 1: the complicated version of what it is that you're talking
- 47:19Speaker 1: about No, I'm not complicated. I just want the cause,
- 47:23Speaker 1: like my cause.
- 47:25Speaker 2: And then then what happens is the next thing, you know,
- 47:29Speaker 2: it's in your chart that you're a non compliant patient,
- 47:32Speaker 2: you're a difficult patient, and then that paints a whole
- 47:35Speaker 2: picture of you to someone else down the line or
- 47:41Speaker 2: and then it becomes so it's like it's a very.
- 47:46Speaker 1: It definitely did happen that way. And then when I
- 47:50Speaker 1: got to the specialist, it was funny because he had
- 47:54Speaker 1: already basically deemed me as being crazy that I didn't
- 47:59Speaker 1: know what I was talking about, and I had to
- 48:02Speaker 1: give him a few choice words as well and basically say,
- 48:06Speaker 1: do your job, find the cause. And then when I
- 48:09Speaker 1: went back from my results after he did the testing,
- 48:12Speaker 1: he was like, I have to apologize to you, because
- 48:14Speaker 1: you are actually right. There is a cause for you
- 48:18Speaker 1: to be feeling this way. I said, yeah, I said,
- 48:21Speaker 1: and had you listened to me the first time versus
- 48:24Speaker 1: listening to somebody who was not listening to me, you
- 48:27Speaker 1: would not be apologizing now, I said, So, I want
- 48:31Speaker 1: you to take this as a lesson to listen to
- 48:34Speaker 1: your patient, because your patient deals with their body every
- 48:38Speaker 1: single day. They live in that space, you don't. So
- 48:42Speaker 1: it's up to you to actually do what you have
- 48:46Speaker 1: taken this oath to do, which is number one, listen
- 48:49Speaker 1: to your patient, listen to what they're telling you, and
- 48:52Speaker 1: then try to help find a solution to the problem,
- 48:57Speaker 1: which is meaning finding the cause that brought them to
- 49:01Speaker 1: you in the first place. I said, so next time
- 49:05Speaker 1: you deal with the patient that comes in with the issue,
- 49:09Speaker 1: you won't have to apologize for not listening.
- 49:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I think too. What I've found is like.
- 49:19Speaker 2: There, it's like a space where it's not acceptable to
- 49:23Speaker 2: say I don't know, you know, and so then instead
- 49:29Speaker 2: you learn practices of deflection, denial, and gaslighting. And really
- 49:37Speaker 2: all you have to do is just say, you know,
- 49:39Speaker 2: I actually don't know, let me let me figure something out,
- 49:44Speaker 2: let me do some research number one, or to let
- 49:48Speaker 2: me refer you right like.
- 49:50Speaker 3: And so it's like.
- 49:54Speaker 2: I think you move you'll go very very far. Yes,
- 49:59Speaker 2: And it's with people like in general, because that person
- 50:05Speaker 2: that's in front of you, like you said, they know
- 50:08Speaker 2: what's going on, right like.
- 50:10Speaker 3: And that's I remember.
- 50:14Speaker 2: One time I did a consult with someone and like
- 50:18Speaker 2: she was she was thinking about whether or not she
- 50:19Speaker 2: was gonna like move forward with me with the treatment
- 50:23Speaker 2: plan and everything. And literally at the end of the consult,
- 50:26Speaker 2: she was just like, I just really actually needed to
- 50:29Speaker 2: know that I wasn't crazy.
- 50:30Speaker 3: I was like, damn, it should have charged for this.
- 50:33Speaker 2: But I'm like, but but really like but it spoke
- 50:38Speaker 2: volumes because she had actually spoken with several people and
- 50:43Speaker 2: and I was like, sitting there, I'm like, no, I
- 50:45Speaker 2: understand what you're saying actually because my my my brain
- 50:49Speaker 2: and background and the way things are connected. I was
- 50:52Speaker 2: just like, no, that all actually makes sense and what's
- 50:55Speaker 2: going on? So yeah, this would be my approach to that,
- 50:59Speaker 2: you know. But for her, that was validating enough and
- 51:03Speaker 2: that was healing. That was healing enough, and so I
- 51:06Speaker 2: was like, oh, okay cool and then that but that
- 51:10Speaker 2: day was it was an illumination point for me in
- 51:18Speaker 2: my practice because it also let me because you know,
- 51:23Speaker 2: you have to we have to remember that we are
- 51:26Speaker 2: going we were trained to look for issues, right, that's
- 51:32Speaker 2: our thing. It's like we're trained to look for it.
- 51:36Speaker 2: And the next thing though, and this could be more
- 51:40Speaker 2: like personal because it's it's just me in the way
- 51:44Speaker 2: that I think I'm also like solutions, like all right,
- 51:47Speaker 2: let me let me all right, cool, we see that
- 51:49Speaker 2: this is an issue, this is a problem, but like
- 51:51Speaker 2: what's our next step?
- 51:52Speaker 3: Right? And so that's that's me like.
- 51:55Speaker 2: In a lot of ways, and I and over time though,
- 51:58Speaker 2: I've had to put a pause, like I'll have to
- 52:02Speaker 2: pause myself and then like zoom out some and then
- 52:06Speaker 2: be like, Okay, is this what they're actually wanting? Right,
- 52:11Speaker 2: like in my with personal relationships, but and then also
- 52:15Speaker 2: like professional relationships and at the same time, just taking
- 52:21Speaker 2: that step and realizing that healing can come in several ways.
- 52:26Speaker 2: And speaking with her that day was one of those.
- 52:30Speaker 2: It didn't take no needles, it didn't take herbs, it
- 52:32Speaker 2: didn't take supplements. It was literally just speaking with her
- 52:37Speaker 2: and having that space for her to actually just share
- 52:41Speaker 2: all of what was going on and then to reflect
- 52:45Speaker 2: that and then also to connect it for her and
- 52:49Speaker 2: to shift the way that she was even seeing herself.
- 52:53Speaker 2: And it was that moment when I realized, yeah, the
- 52:58Speaker 2: versions of healing are not it's not going to be
- 53:01Speaker 2: from me, right, And and it's like you just you
- 53:06Speaker 2: get in that place where it's like okay. And that's
- 53:09Speaker 2: why I tend to say, like I'm partnering with you
- 53:12Speaker 2: and actually you're choosing, we're co choosing if we're going
- 53:17Speaker 2: to come together in this relationship dynamic and then go forward, right,
- 53:23Speaker 2: And that was That's one of the things I was
- 53:26Speaker 2: thinking about today, was like I never resonated with being
- 53:28Speaker 2: a healer, but I have resonated with identifying what we
- 53:35Speaker 2: could put in place for the healing to occur within
- 53:38Speaker 2: you on your own right. And that's what drew That's
- 53:42Speaker 2: why I gravitated towards Eastern medicine, because at the base
- 53:46Speaker 2: of it, it's about seeing what's there, how is it
- 53:51Speaker 2: that they've been interacting in their lives, what's playing a role,
- 53:54Speaker 2: and to the presentation of what's now and then seeing, oh,
- 54:01Speaker 2: if if we put a needle here, but even if
- 54:04Speaker 2: it's not a needle, it could be actupressure, right, like
- 54:08Speaker 2: it could be bodywork, it could be an herb. If
- 54:11Speaker 2: we do that, we give we give the whole person
- 54:16Speaker 2: what it is that they're they need, and then the
- 54:20Speaker 2: functions that innate functions just happen, you know, and it's
- 54:26Speaker 2: just like, oh, like to me, that's magic, right, that's
- 54:31Speaker 2: so magical.
- 54:33Speaker 3: Because you know.
- 54:36Speaker 2: We know what we are to do, Like the body
- 54:41Speaker 2: just knows it has a wisdom all on its own.
- 54:45Speaker 2: And so like when there are those moments that we're
- 54:49Speaker 2: feeling something, we're sensing something, and it's like, oh.
- 54:52Speaker 3: This pain, Oh my goodness, what happened? What's happening? You
- 54:56Speaker 3: just want to have those moments of like I just
- 54:58Speaker 3: want to stop. But even like.
- 55:03Speaker 2: We do have those moments and I get it. And
- 55:07Speaker 2: then at the same time, I'm like, all right, all right,
- 55:10Speaker 2: I'm gonna let us be. I'ma let us be. Go ahead,
- 55:12Speaker 2: say what you got to say, like and then like,
- 55:16Speaker 2: all right, now, what what is it with this? Why
- 55:19Speaker 2: is it present right now? Why is it present in
- 55:23Speaker 2: this quality and ship?
- 55:24Speaker 3: And is it sharp? Like is it dull?
- 55:27Speaker 2: But why is it here in this place? Why? Why
- 55:31Speaker 2: isn't it over here? Why does the heat make it better?
- 55:34Speaker 2: Why does the cold make it better? Why does me
- 55:37Speaker 2: sitting down make it better? Why does that? You know? Like,
- 55:39Speaker 2: so you sit there and start exploring it from this way,
- 55:44Speaker 2: and then it's like, oh, you start getting answers, right,
- 55:49Speaker 2: and it's like, really.
- 55:53Speaker 3: It's not.
- 55:54Speaker 2: Now then some of those answers are actually to me,
- 55:57Speaker 2: they're more difficult, yeah, to actually implement, right, Like you
- 56:04Speaker 2: even noticed you even said it right the whole people
- 56:06Speaker 2: please me realizing like what you were doing those behaviors,
- 56:11Speaker 2: and you know, sometimes it's easy. Sometimes it isn't that
- 56:14Speaker 2: to me. That's why I say, it's the relationships with
- 56:17Speaker 2: ourselves and our relationship with others, and it's navigating all
- 56:24Speaker 2: of that really. More so that I feel like, is
- 56:30Speaker 2: what we're That's what we're here.
- 56:31Speaker 3: That's what we're here to do and with ourselves to
- 56:39Speaker 3: do that.
- 56:40Speaker 1: How can anybody who's wanting to learn more about what
- 56:44Speaker 1: you do? How can they contact you?
- 56:47Speaker 3: Okay? You know what?
- 56:49Speaker 2: So the space that I call it, it's called the
- 56:53Speaker 2: Perfect Playground. Yeah, I am mostly active on thread, so
- 57:01Speaker 2: it's at it's the perfect playground and then also just
- 57:06Speaker 2: the perfect playground dot com and yeah, I got the
- 57:11Speaker 2: space is opening up for conversations like this and then
- 57:16Speaker 2: people to come in with with whatever is popping up
- 57:19Speaker 2: for them and just let me jam with them, asking
- 57:21Speaker 2: them questions and seeing what's coming up for them. So, yeah,
- 57:25Speaker 2: this is the twenty eighth, so August thirty first, it's
- 57:28Speaker 2: opening and yeah, just come on out and then come play.
- 57:32Speaker 2: Let's see what's going on with you. And sometimes it's
- 57:35Speaker 2: just conversation. Like I said, sometimes it's more than that.
- 57:38Speaker 2: But the whole point to me is just reframing that
- 57:41Speaker 2: relationship with yourself and with your body and seeing that
- 57:47Speaker 2: there's so much wisdom and insight and I just love
- 57:50Speaker 2: seeing everyone's perfect, authentic selves coming out when they're in
- 57:53Speaker 2: this whole journey.
- 57:55Speaker 1: Well, I thank you for that, because a lot of
- 57:58Speaker 1: us are still struggling with loving our authentic self and
- 58:02Speaker 1: finding our true identity. But this has been a very,
- 58:07Speaker 1: very good conversation. We finally were able to actually get
- 58:12Speaker 1: through and have the conversation because it was like, but
- 58:19Speaker 1: it was necessary, and that's what I mean, because we
- 58:23Speaker 1: were determined to make this happen and somebody needed what
- 58:27Speaker 1: you said today, and I'm sure they're gonna be reaching out.
- 58:31Speaker 1: I would definitely love to have you back on the
- 58:33Speaker 1: show so that we can continue this conversation of loving
- 58:37Speaker 1: our authentic selves and paying attention to what the body
- 58:41Speaker 1: is telling us. Even when we try to ignore, those
- 58:44Speaker 1: signals will always come back. So thank you for being here,
- 58:51Speaker 1: and we definitely will be doing a part two of
- 58:55Speaker 1: this conversation. We'll have to get together to figure out
- 58:59Speaker 1: what your skined is, but we are right in our
- 59:03Speaker 1: time for our show tonight. But I thank you so
- 59:08Speaker 1: much for being here and I look forward to talking
- 59:12Speaker 1: to you again. And before I leave, you guys, know
- 59:17Speaker 1: that I cannot go without saying this, and that is
- 59:21Speaker 1: stay out of God's business. The only thing he needs
- 59:24Speaker 1: you to do is be obedient to what He's called
- 59:26Speaker 1: you to do. And when you always do that, you'll
- 59:28Speaker 1: always be on the purpose in the plan that God
- 59:31Speaker 1: has for you. So I love you, guys, and thank
- 59:33Speaker 1: you for being with me tonight.
- 59:35Speaker 3: Good Night.
- 59:54Speaker 1: We're good. So I don't know where she is, but
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: we are good and we are off, so I'm gonna
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: send you a message and so we'll be good. Good Night,
