- 1:15feeling, God, I'm feeling good? Me too, Me too? I
- 1:19am pumped up. I am pumped up. I mean the Southern Charm recap
- 1:26right before this was just the amuse boush to our letting the journey begin on
- 1:30the Golden Bachelor. Wow, why television is in its prime primetime bavision is
- 1:42like popping off right now. I mean this is like the days of what
- 1:46was it Thursday Night? Like musty TV, musty TV lineup? Yes,
- 1:49this is what we're at. You know, this is like our seinfeld in
- 1:53Friends into Yeah, yeah, I don't remember what everyone was. Those two
- 1:59are enough those way wad maybe it was like mad about you? I don't
- 2:02yeah, but boy, oh boy, here we are. We're going to
- 2:07jump in. It's the Golden Bachelor. As you see if you're watching this
- 2:12video, because of course you're you may be watching it. Maybe you're not.
- 2:15But to my to your right, how are you? How would you
- 2:19see it? To your right you will see the cast list and brought to
- 2:23you by one Deanna Chang, who is in so deep went to a viewing
- 2:28party for The Bachelor, The Golden Bachelor. Uh, somehow secured this via
- 2:34an Etsy situation And here we are an Etsy download. You know they there's
- 2:42many, not one, not too but many. Uh. If you want
- 2:46to do sort of a Fantasy League situation, as you watch The Golden Bachelor,
- 2:50you can people out there have put these little packages together, and I
- 2:54said, let me get this cast list to Amy, so we have our
- 2:58reference. Oh God, I love you for it. I now for it,
- 3:01and thank you for joining us on this journey. We're going to be
- 3:06seeing it through to the end. And if we had any doubts, you
- 3:09know, they would be in this morning and or as of last night when
- 3:14we watched, and certainly those doubts are not in. The votes did not
- 3:17come in against this show, and we have not spoken one word about it
- 3:23to each other, so we are ready to give each other our reactions.
- 3:28And I'm getting joked up because it's a beautiful show and I'm so excited.
- 3:32I didn't expect to be if we're to be so emotional at the beginning,
- 3:37and I just it took me, just swept me off my feet. I
- 3:45was just I fell back with emotion. I didn't expect the Cat Stevens music
- 3:51while while telling the story of a widowed man forty three years wasn't that they
- 3:58were together eight years two forty three some staggering number, Gary and Tony his
- 4:03beautiful wife. God damn it, you know Gary is is an open heart.
- 4:14I mean, we joked I was at my friend's Brandon and my husband.
- 4:18I went to Brandon and liz Is last night for the viewing party,
- 4:20and I printed out the Fantasy League stuff. I didn't. I printed out
- 4:27this this little lady chart initially on regular paper, and I said, excuse
- 4:34me, and I went and I got my card stock. I got my
- 4:38thick paper. Excuse and excuse me. Not good enough, full color,
- 4:43full color. So you did two Well, let's just for the record,
- 4:48the first print out was also in color. I'm sure absolutely, you know,
- 4:53even for the draft. You were like, not good enough, but
- 4:56not good enough, said let me go find my card stock by ten cards
- 5:00stock, and let's get really serious here. So we were joking in the
- 5:06beginning of the show that like he's choosing Tony at the end of all of
- 5:12this, like Tony his wife has passed away, Like after all done,
- 5:17he's gonna like he'll be out there choosing Tony. He can't do it.
- 5:24He's just gonna leave with that framed picture of her of a glamor that was
- 5:29one hundred percent of glamour shot. Absolutely, and it was gorgeous. Absolutely.
- 5:36He did write by Tony publicly for national television and Tony did. Write
- 5:42by Tony because to have you know you, just you, really I'm looking
- 5:46for. I wish we could get to know her a little more. Maybe
- 5:48we will. I think we will. We will. But I love how
- 5:51she cared for herself so much that she took the time to do a portrait
- 5:58of herself, because we don't do that. I mean, in this day
- 6:00and age, we're taking selfies. We're doing you know, and that's fine.
- 6:04I mean, I suppose we can do our own glamour shots. But
- 6:09you know, it took a lot back then to like, you know,
- 6:12you're a busy mom, your busy wife. You're a busy mom. You
- 6:15probably working, and no one's taking your picture. You know. People just
- 6:20they don't. They're not taking mom's pictures, you know. So you're making
- 6:24a great point, Amy, And so for this business of glamour shots who
- 6:28have come around in the late eighties and such, was so smart because it
- 6:32was like, ladies, take care of you. Let's see you on this
- 6:38phot in this photo, you know what I mean, Like, let's bring
- 6:41you to light, let's put the filter on you, let's get you a
- 6:43jazzy backdrop. And sure enough, you know, Tony did that, and
- 6:47I have so much respect for her because yes, there and of itself.
- 6:51You got this gorgeous photo and it's been there, you know, since the
- 6:57beginning, and he loves it. He loves it, and and it reminded
- 7:00me of planes, trains and automobiles. Do you remember that I don't have
- 7:06this. I do remember, but I don't have this particular reference. Well,
- 7:13God, that's a heartbreaking movie and I won't get so into it,
- 7:16but I can't really watch that movie again because it is so beautifully emotional and
- 7:21it's one of the greatest movies I think. But my god, Okay,
- 7:25I need to rewatch on that because it's been literally decades. Yes, but
- 7:29John Candy, you know, meets Steve Martin in this obviously very you know,
- 7:34unpredictable and unfortunate but fortunate way, and they end up traveling together to
- 7:41get from one place to the other over the holidays. And when John Candy
- 7:46talks about his wife, you assume that she's alive and he's got to get
- 7:49back to her. But the reveal is that she is deceased. And that
- 7:57is the most emotional part of the whole movie, is that's he has this
- 8:01picture of her and he always puts it out into the hotel room everywhere he
- 8:03goes, and oh Amy, he says. And when they get into this
- 8:09big fight and he's like, I like me, my wife likes me.
- 8:16And it's like the sad most beautiful moment in film Mystery. And it's like
- 8:24and that's why at the end of the movie, Steve Martin brings John Canny
- 8:28home with him for Thanksgiving because he doesn't know where to go. Oh Amy,
- 8:37See, this is why I can't watch that movie. I can't talk
- 8:39about Okay, oh okay anyway, and that picture the way, if you've
- 8:52seen that movie and you see how John Ganny puts up the picture of the
- 8:54wife, it's like, Gary, oh my god, this is ridiculous.
- 9:00Is this fucking ridiculous? Oh Golden Badgie, cold golden, but you're do
- 9:07when it was golden Batgie, Oh my gosh, I swear to you.
- 9:15I thought that like this Golden Bachelor was gonna be kind of like a douchebag,
- 9:18and I don't I just assumed what it would obviously be, and that
- 9:24it is just not that. You the opening of him getting dressed and then
- 9:28he puts takes the hearing aid puts his hearing aid in and then you have
- 9:33the Cat Stevens. This is where music like, I can't believe that ABC
- 9:39and like a production like this that's so commercialized would do such a beautiful job
- 9:46at introducing such a heartfelt story and that they went this like direction. Are
- 9:54you as shocked as I am? Oh my god, Dan, oh lord?
- 10:01I had you know when I saw the still image of carry in a
- 10:07magazine, I believe I was exactly where you are, deeply concerned. I
- 10:13thought he was a douchebaggery. I'm like, he's going to go for a
- 10:16chicken in her thirties. I didn't understand his age. I didn't understand.
- 10:20I mean, yes, the picture in the on like it is sweetened up.
- 10:28Okay. But then but then I got to know him through the mentell
- 10:37all for charity season and I knew we were I was like, all right,
- 10:41we're in for something special. But I still was deeply concerned. You
- 10:48know, do we have it like ps? I am still like will,
- 10:56it's so much. This show is so just I'm like Gary needs to take
- 11:03twenty in between every six women that he's meeting tonight because it's a lot like
- 11:09let him rest and hydrate and come back. You know, it's just at
- 11:16a ten. It's so exhausting. I was so I went through a lot
- 11:22last night. I was like so overstimulated by the time I left, I
- 11:26was like it went so quickly that episode. It flew by at a pace.
- 11:31I think that they didn't understand we needed like a doubleheader. It was
- 11:35only an hour long, and typically isn't a Bachelor like ninety minutes. You
- 11:41know, maybe you're right, it is right, it starts. It feels
- 11:46like it starts at Yeah, they didn't understand, and I get it,
- 11:50like maybe you don't know. You don't know, I don't know if it's
- 11:54gonna it's gone, and you don't know how it's gonna hit. And Gary
- 11:56didn't knowbody. No, Gary didn't know what he had till it's gone.
- 11:58So it was just do you're putting your stock in? Are the people who
- 12:05watch this gonna get invested in seventy year olds eighty? You know? Like
- 12:11is that gonna happen sixty and seventy year olds? So they were cautious in
- 12:18their approach in terms of time, but they were full. It was fully
- 12:24realized in terms of like the setup and you know, we the ladies were
- 12:31popping off. They came in so hot. I was like, I'm dead,
- 12:37Like this whole thing is like, first of all, here's the thing.
- 12:43It's the stakes are so different than when you're dealing with twenty and thirty
- 12:48year olds. They're so different. It is night and day and that how
- 12:54could you have the same structure show be so vastly different by changing the age
- 13:01range. It's wild And that is absolutely one of the like the brightest spots
- 13:09in this is that you realize that it is so different. And I would
- 13:13love to peel down the peel, peel through those layers with you. Because
- 13:20at the beginning, you know, and they're painting the picture of the women
- 13:24like, oh my god, they're so sweet. When they finally get together
- 13:26and they're like, I love those earrings, Oh my gosh, you look
- 13:28so that dress is beautiful, you know what I mean. Like they're just
- 13:31so positive and happy to be there and all this stuff. And then towards
- 13:35the end, you know, after the rose ceremony, you feel like you
- 13:39think it's going to be a lighter feel in a way, yeah, but
- 13:43then yet after the rose ceremony it felt even heavier than the younger crowd.
- 13:50Absolutely, oh boy. And I was not expecting that. I didn't I
- 13:54didn't have any expectations. But I love the lightness. And I was like,
- 13:58oh my gosh, this is they're kind of painting the picture. That's
- 14:01going to be the different vibe that you know. They're they're more mature,
- 14:03they're they're evolved. They don't need to do petty shit. They're not gonna
- 14:07do stuff for the cameras. And then at the Rose ceremony, it just
- 14:11got so real. When people went home, it was painful. It was
- 14:16very painful, and I thought, I don't know if I can emotionally handle
- 14:20this for these ladies that it is, it's because the younger set, we
- 14:28know there I meet somebody else that they have plenty of time, right they
- 14:33if they made a splash, they're gonna go sell their fit tummy tea and
- 14:41they're gonna be And that is part of why some people are there at that
- 14:45age. Right. This is not that, this is not that they're all
- 14:50there for the right reasons. Yes, are you here for the right reasons?
- 14:54Is not a question that Gary will have to ask. No, they're
- 15:01all there. Jesus Christ, I know this is so intense. Oh lord,
- 15:07yeah, they're all there, they're looking at the back nine. Is
- 15:11that the phrase? Sure, another golf, another golf metaphor from you try
- 15:18it when I don't have any sense of what it is. You're actually landing
- 15:24it. You're landing the Holy One for you. Okay, thank god.
- 15:28I love that. April was like the rose ceremony is about to start.
- 15:31It's been a long night. I'm tired, my contacts are hurting, my
- 15:35hair is falling out. It's stressful, and it's like you just don't hear
- 15:41that from the young set. And I'm like, thank you, April,
- 15:46thank you, Like my contacts are always falling out, Like thank you for
- 15:50just like showing I feel seen. Yeah, that's the reality that we don't
- 15:56really get from the others. No, they do. They keep that from
- 16:00us. You know, we don't get those those strong and passionate details,
- 16:07you know, I mean, do we got and in for Gary, like
- 16:11to your point at the end, we're starting at the end, We're gonna
- 16:15make our way. But like it was really emotional for him to let these
- 16:19women go. I felt, Oh, he was crying. I don't think
- 16:25he's going to be able to not cry this time. Every time, every
- 16:29time, this is too, this is like, yeah, steaks are all
- 16:37high emotions for what's very vulnerable to go on the television, you know and
- 16:48put yourself out there at this age. I'm sorry. It just absolutely it
- 16:55just is, Oh my god. And they've got everything working for them.
- 16:57You know, they've got the greatest life in the world. They've got makeup
- 17:03people and I'm just talking. I'm talking now facade then yeah, go beyond
- 17:08and you're talking. You are putting your heart and soul out there to find
- 17:14this person that you can spend the rest of you or as they said,
- 17:15thirty years like they had a number, Like someone had a number. How
- 17:19do you want to spend the next thirty years? You know, because guessing
- 17:23that you'll hear to tell hundred thirty years is generous. So the clock is
- 17:33chicken. Everyone's crunching the numbers. You know. My friend Liz was like,
- 17:40I think Gary would love to just you know, he's really looking to
- 17:48sit at the lake house and stare at the lake with someone and these hot
- 17:52to mollies coming in energize like he I feel like I didn't know if he
- 17:59was truly he wasn't even going to get through the night. I'm like,
- 18:03as it's just a lot like he had his women planting their lips on him.
- 18:11Had that happened? Has he had lip on lip since Tony. I
- 18:17will hope that we get to find that out in this story because I was
- 18:22wondering that too, because you know, shaken off that dust and then even
- 18:26like I don't know if it was Teresa, but somebody was like, I
- 18:30haven't kissed it. It was felt really good to kiss somebody. I haven't
- 18:33kissed anyone in a long time. And now I want to go back.
- 18:37As you mentioned the lake house, and obviously I couldn't get through it before.
- 18:41But dear God, you know the story, if you haven't seen it,
- 18:45is that he was married to his wife Tony for forty three years.
- 18:51They retired. They had this dream of retirement to buy this lake house.
- 18:56They bought it, they closed. The next thing, you know, his
- 19:00wife got sick with a bacterial infection that just spread throughout her body like an
- 19:07incredibly fast speed. He took her to the er and then she never came
- 19:11home. She passed away within a couple of weeks of bringing your into the
- 19:15er and it's been six years since she's passed. He has daughters, he
- 19:19has granddaughters. They are his support system, and this lake house was really
- 19:25her dream. Now you brought up the point that a lot of these women
- 19:30are ready to like salsa and like get out there. But and that he,
- 19:36you know, on the flip side, wants to sit at the lake
- 19:37house. I don't think he should be sitting at that lake house. It
- 19:41will always be a constant reminder to him of what he lost. I don't
- 19:45think that will necessarily be the best route for him. I think he needs
- 19:49to to get rid of the lake house. Well, I'll tell you this
- 19:53is definitely a different route, you know than sitting at the lake house.
- 19:59He has taken. He is heeding your advice. I mean, this is
- 20:04Yeah, if you've been sitting at the lake house for the last six years,
- 20:08you may be real ready for this because you're right and you want him
- 20:12to actually sell off the lake house. He's not going to you don't think
- 20:17so you will. I don't. It's not a stay in the family.
- 20:19It'll stay in the family with kids will go there and listen, if one
- 20:25of these broads you know, moves in, she's going to redo it as
- 20:29she should. It's going to be difficult for the kids, but she's got
- 20:33to put her stamp on it because that's Tony's unless she knows some women that
- 20:37can figure their way in and leave the the you know, deceased still very
- 20:45present. Goddamn this, I can't, Like, I have the chills right
- 20:49now because this is some television that we have not seen this journey before,
- 20:53and this is so relatable to this this age group, Like it's beyond and
- 21:00so fascinating because we will all as humans be there at some point, and
- 21:07that is why it is so compelling. Yeah, because if you have any
- 21:10heart, you know, you feel this now. The steaks, as you
- 21:14said, are so high, you know. I love I love Gary.
- 21:18I love that he's talking to Jesse and he's like, and Jesse's like,
- 21:22how are you feeling, you know, and He's like, I'm nervous.
- 21:26So I'm well, I'm gonna meet the woman of my dream shortly. And
- 21:29I love how kind of nerdy he is. I wasn't expecting he'd be so
- 21:33nerdy. Yeah, but the twenty women arrive and Jesus Christ, they just
- 21:38they pop out with a bang. I mean, we get Edith in the
- 21:41gold dress immediately with that gold confetti shooters those and it was a beautiful scene.
- 21:48And talk about a knockout. She was the one with the gray hair,
- 21:52right, Yeah, Edith stunning. So she's up here, you guys
- 21:55can see she's one two three four bro top four four in and she's just
- 22:00stunning. I was like, she's the one, you know what I mean,
- 22:04Like I always get excited with the first oh you ever, but it
- 22:08also is like the first one out, they usually plant a goodie. You
- 22:15know, the first one out is usually a front runner because it it is
- 22:19the it's you know, human nature. It's like seeing your for the first
- 22:23wedding dress. Many times people buy the first wedding dress they see because or
- 22:27they try on because it's that emotional connection. So she was the first wedding
- 22:33dress for sure. I mean, Edith was wow. Wow. And we're
- 22:37getting the good names because we're hearkening back to a better time, you know.
- 22:42You know, we're not like like Mackenzie and like you know, fucking
- 22:47bubbles or whatever. You know, we're like Edith and Teresa and yeah and
- 22:51shut up, okay, so we get a you know, I didn't write
- 22:55down everybody that popped out. But I I mean, obviously I was highlight
- 23:00the ones that they were highlighting. So we have Ellen who comes out of
- 23:03the limo, who's like, Roberta, we made it and Roberta and he's
- 23:08like, may I ask who Roberta is? Yeah, and to find out
- 23:17her story and that's like her best friend who she's known forever, and like
- 23:22they love the Bachelor series, their Bachelor Nation, and Roberta is sick.
- 23:27God damn it. And then we get the pictures. I know, I
- 23:32know, I know, I know. Oh Lord, now Deanna's crying.
- 23:40Now Deanna's now, Deanna's Lord, Lord Lord, Okay, I'm gonna be
- 23:45strong. Now it's a lot, it's a lot. Wait, she passed,
- 23:56she passed. Did you see the ending? It said in loving memory.
- 24:00She never saw the first episode. I'm laughing because it's too much.
- 24:08No, I didn't see that. I did see that. It was at
- 24:12the very end. Roberta did not get to see this. I mean,
- 24:18it's too much. It's simply too much. Okay. I could not know
- 24:22that, And now I have chills and tears. Okay, No, I'm
- 24:26going to be strong. You're you're taking one for the team. You're taking
- 24:29the emotions for this one. You're taking it all right now, I can't
- 24:33take it. See that obviously, you know, not paying attention to credits
- 24:38and so forth. But that sucks. But at least she knew she was
- 24:45going to go on it. Yeah, it would have been nice to hear
- 24:48see her get her shout out out at the limo. I know. But
- 24:52you know what, let's just take it from a spiritual point of view,
- 24:55and let's say she was there. She'd say she was right next to her
- 24:57in the limo. That's nice. Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna go with
- 25:03that. I think that's will too. And for that reason, Oh my
- 25:07gosh, maybe Ellen is going to get this. I get this, she
- 25:12simmered. I was really concerned about Ellen for at the jump. I was
- 25:19like, Ellen is more here for Roberta than she is for which is not
- 25:26the wrong reason. She's still there, still there, She's still there.
- 25:32And by the way, she's the fifth one in on the top row here
- 25:36next to Edith and the pictures. And I did feel like she she was
- 25:41so shot out of a cannon and sort of spasticated in the beginning, But
- 25:45then I thought she I don't think that's the right. I'm cutting that word
- 25:49even though you're all hearing it. Pretend it's mentally cut. Yeah, that's
- 25:52a new word that is not appropriate. So and and our generation that was
- 25:59a very utilized the word, and we had no idea what that was,
- 26:03what what that meant. We know now kicking it out, so gone from
- 26:07our minds, thank you. Moving on. But then when she had her
- 26:14time in the house with him, I was like, Okay, she's settling
- 26:19in, and I thought she did. She had a good one on one
- 26:22with him, you know, so she just was a roller coaster. She
- 26:26I was worried. She was so roburted up that like we weren't kind of
- 26:30like get to Gary, you know, we weren't going Yeah, okay,
- 26:42Sandra comes out and she is like I want to do this. And first
- 26:48of all, her voice is like intoxicating, hypnotizing. Oh yeah. And
- 26:52uh so she does this zen practice with Gary where she breathes in and she
- 26:57exhales a curse word for a very long time, which was very funny.
- 27:03Obsessed with Sandra, She's out of her titty. She looks like she's the
- 27:07head of hr at a corporation. You know she does. She came in
- 27:12so buttoned up with her little glasses and her little bob and then she is
- 27:18breaking out the F bombs. It was so unhinged. I'm deeply interested in
- 27:25seeing more of Sandra, and I'm happy she was not cut. Here's Sandra,
- 27:30and I'm just because her hair is so professional and you can see retired
- 27:33executive assistant. I mean, my mom also was an executive assistant. Great,
- 27:38same vibe, the perfect hair, like everything, you know, so
- 27:45good. Oh. She was hilarious and they had a good one on one
- 27:48too, and Gary was like, well, it was a little uncomfortable with
- 27:51those words, you know, so of course he was. Of course he
- 27:53was, you know, yeah, oh gosh. So she she was definitely
- 27:59a standout Leslie. Okay. She comes out in the costume, like the
- 28:03Grandma costume, and he's like, can I help you? And then she
- 28:07tears it off and she's like, do I look like I need any help?
- 28:12And she's this sexy babe and she's a dancer and we find out that
- 28:18Prince wrote the song Sexy Dancer about her. Did we do we need a
- 28:23fact check on that? Yeah? It's like, okay, I'll love a
- 28:27bat jack. But sure, great, I'll take you at your word,
- 28:32Leslie. You're definitely you know, she was saucy as hell. I wouldn't
- 28:37stand a chance around Leslie. You know he's gonna she's gonna take him for
- 28:42a ride. Yeah, this is one where I was like, he's gonna
- 28:47need five after Leslie and just hydrate, get some like gatorade or some coconut
- 28:52water, and just like sit him down and just fan im, get a
- 28:56little air on his face and let's regroup. You know. I like that.
- 29:06I think that they didn't film this in the summertime, which is good
- 29:11because you know, they would not be putting up with too hot weather.
- 29:15And like it's just it's good. I'm glad it's not all right. They
- 29:18can't deal with elements like that and that's respectful, thank you. Yes.
- 29:22Now Teresa comes out and she's just wild card because she was like, it's
- 29:27my birthday, so that's why I decided to wear my birthday suit. And
- 29:33then she like undoes her her wrap. Turns out it was just like a
- 29:38nude body suit that she was wearing underneath, right, But I thought she
- 29:45should have gone for it all the way. I mean the way he was
- 29:48drinking her in and I thought, oh golly, she did she you know,
- 29:56but it was a cute bit, you know, the bits. And
- 30:00my husband said and I was like, yeah, they were, you know,
- 30:04even like the popping of the confetti. And there are a couple things
- 30:10that were like sexual sexual innu windows, but like in a more refined yes,
- 30:17you know way aged aged fine, yeah but little you know. Yeah,
- 30:25I agree. So we also get Okay, April the therapist. I'm
- 30:30excited about this one too. She's quacking like a duck because she she lives
- 30:36on a farm. She's a therapist, and she's definitely a wild card wild
- 30:41this one. I mean, we've got our eyes on. I mean,
- 30:42they highlighted the right gals, you know, because the ones that went home,
- 30:47we didn't even get to know their first name really, I mean most
- 30:48of them. Yeah, but April was interesting. Now we meet Patty,
- 30:56who's the son of who's I'm sorry, whose son is Matt the bachelor who
- 31:02I don't know who that is, but you know, spoiler alert. She
- 31:07didn't get a rose, and I was like, it was kind of shocking.
- 31:11I mean, it felt bad for her, right, she is a
- 31:18very it's funny because I did watch the Matt season of the Bachelor. He
- 31:23classically kissed with his eyes open. That was Matt season, which was tough,
- 31:30but okay, but Patty was cool, Like I liked Patty and she
- 31:38was like a very she is a very beautiful woman. You got it.
- 31:42Oh yeah, I watched that season Matt James. Yes, yeah, yes,
- 31:47and he did kiss with his eyes that's right, Okay, yes,
- 31:49I remember. Now it's all coming together. Okay, sorry, carry on.
- 31:55No, it did feel a little disrespectful that Patty didn't get to stay
- 31:59one round. And I don't know why. I just we know the bad
- 32:04Like it just felt awkward. But it also makes me feel like they're not
- 32:12producing Gary's that's the other thing. I'm like, Wow, she didn't stay.
- 32:16That's such a like that's the game move. You have to keep that
- 32:21person. So that was absolutely shocking. Yeah, so and yeah, we
- 32:27didn't even really we got nothing from her. It was I'm kind of bummed
- 32:31because I think she's a cool lady. But you know, and I think
- 32:36she's a beautiful lady. But these gals are really stunning. So and he's
- 32:44really looking you can tell personality and energy is big yeah, and she her
- 32:51energy really was subtle and her demeanor was and not to say that she's not
- 32:57a lovely person, but but not for Gary, right, So not frigarrea
- 33:02at this time. How about how about Conchetta aka Chippy Aunt Chippy Jimmy Kimmel's
- 33:10aunt hilarious cute? It was cute. It was very cute. I love
- 33:19the comedy and I love that she's like sleeping. And of course at the
- 33:23end the little bit was like, you know, Aunt Chippy, wake up,
- 33:27and she's like, did I get a rose? And then he's like,
- 33:30no, you slept through the rose ceremony. It was a great bit,
- 33:34so cute. And by the way, my Gerbil, my first pet,
- 33:38your name, his name was Chippy. Nice. Yeah, beget it
- 33:43beautiful, thank you? Really beautiful. So then and then the last one
- 33:46I'll highlight is faith. She comes in on a motorcycle and she's really well,
- 33:53she's the one who actually got the first impression rose. She sang a
- 33:58song to him using the guitar, and and and on that one on one
- 34:04he was like basically saying to her, listen, I'm giving this to you
- 34:07because not because you're beautiful or you have a beautiful voice. But because of
- 34:10what you're doing right now, you're making me feel very special. I mean
- 34:15Faith came in with the motorcycle guitar song combo. It was I mean,
- 34:23I was like, I don't know, you know, you can take a
- 34:29killer combo and her sincerity like she was getting her eyes were tearing up when
- 34:34he was like giving her the rose. Yeah. No, it was special.
- 34:38I mean, you know, I was like, okay, look at
- 34:42you getting like the younger gal who was just like sixty one. But Faith
- 34:49killed it. She did. There's no two ways about it. Yeah,
- 34:52she came in, she killed it, and she's a local radio host.
- 34:55By the way. I like that. Mm hmm. I like that feels
- 34:59nice. Yeah, it's cute. There's only one gal I do need to
- 35:02talk about that, you know there's two? Wait, Amy, Oh no,
- 35:07I haven't forgotten about Kathy. Oh okay, okay, but yeah,
- 35:10I would love for you to introduce it. Okay, okay, Well Kathy,
- 35:15I'm Kathy was the like comedy relief throughout because she had yep was you
- 35:23know, they were all trying to mind their peas and cues and keep their
- 35:29wits about them and be pleasant and Kathy had a different approach. Oh you
- 35:34know, she was just scowling from the side, seeing like someone's getting a
- 35:38kiss, someone's getting this, someone's oh, someone's coming in with feathers.
- 35:43Oh. I didn't know to do that, oh, you know. And
- 35:45she did not masking her face on any level. She's just scowling from the
- 35:50sides. And oh my god, was she a piss her Like I was
- 35:55a pistol too, Like Lord, okay, so here, I'm going to
- 36:00zoom in on Kathy. But she was hilarious in those She was really the
- 36:05runner through the whole show. Yeah, you know, she was like,
- 36:08I'm here. I hope everybody knows I'm the one. They think they're the
- 36:14one. I'm the one. And then and then at the Rose ceremony,
- 36:16because she's so and she's so serious, she was like, I'm I'm sitting
- 36:20here thinking, have you forgotten about me? Gary? I'm trying to hone
- 36:23in on him, and I'm going, it's me Gary, It's Kathy.
- 36:28It's say Kathy. Remember my name? Do you remember my name? Gary?
- 36:34Oh? My god, so funny, too good, there's Kathy,
- 36:37which is it's too good, you know, because the truth of the matter
- 36:42is is like, would we be you know, I would I love to
- 36:45imagine that I could be more Faith than Kathy. Yeah, but I would
- 36:51probably end up veering towards more Kathy. Do you know what I mean?
- 36:54Like I'd love to throw think of myself as a Faith, but it's like
- 37:00in that situation, Kathy, I might be veering more Kathy than Faith.
- 37:06Unfortunately, No, I hear you, and you know what I was.
- 37:08It says right here that Faith is a teacher, but I thought she was
- 37:13the radio. So I don't know where I got that from. No,
- 37:15I got that too. I think maybe she's both. Oh okay. You
- 37:19know what's so funny, Danna is that I saw Benton and I go,
- 37:22You've got to be me. But it's not. It's Brenton. It's Brenton
- 37:27City, Washington. But I'm like, is she was? She at the
- 37:30Benton Follies with her guitar like I sitting it all together. She wasn't stop
- 37:35it, Get out of here, get out, Yeah, Gaddy, please
- 37:42leave, get on keep on moving. So okay, April, Patty,
- 37:50oh Patty went home. We talked about that. Kathy Gary gets cheered up
- 37:53at the end and then Journey plays don't stop believing at the end. I
- 38:00mean, I mean not in person. It's just like they used the song.
- 38:02They they paid a lot of rights for music for this Golden datchet and
- 38:07I was very impressed with that. Now that being said, like, so
- 38:15I don't know who all went home, like obviously, Patty, wait,
- 38:21can you bring those rocks down? So let's go one by one. Anna
- 38:24Okay, Anna was sent home, and it was kind of shocking because she
- 38:29seemed to do well, but she didn't make it. Okay, April Pril
- 38:32stayed. I believe, Christina stayed, Edith stayed, Ellen stayed less Leslie's
- 38:40stay she did. Wow, you have a good memory. Yeah, I
- 38:44can say fine, Kathy definitely stay. She finally got her Rose Joan.
- 38:49Then I don't remember. Oh gosh, I remember who was cut because they
- 38:53were two that I liked and I was like, oh, two of my
- 38:58picks are gone. That's sad. Okay, let's go on. I know
- 39:00Pamela was cut, and I like Pamela, and I like Renee Nancy was
- 39:05that suit Nancy's cut too? Oh? The tracksuit lady was cut? Who
- 39:09what was her name? Yeah, Renee, Renee, that's Renee right there,
- 39:15Nancy Renee. They got cut. Pamela got cut. Oh yeah,
- 39:19Oh, Pamela is the one I was thinking. Yeah, uh huh,
- 39:22okay, Susan left to Mark. Oh yeah, she was the last one
- 39:28to be picked. I Susan's the kind of woman that I do not gravitate
- 39:37too. But there's sometimes there's a woman with that energy, a Susan energy.
- 39:44That's so it's such a strong energy, and for whatever karmic reason,
- 39:51I fear that those type of women are going to like eat me, do
- 39:55you know what I mean, like consume me, like I can't fight it.
- 40:00So Susan I have my eye on, just because I was like,
- 40:04but man, is she a You just can imagine as Susan makes her way
- 40:08through this world, she's just leaving men. There's just a freaking like graveyard
- 40:15of men that she's leaving in the dusk because she is a man eater.
- 40:21Like I'm sorry, it's like you, Gary has no choice but to see
- 40:27where things go with Susan, Like there's just no other path. She's a
- 40:30wedding efficient, so you know she's hitten. She's hitting up all these men
- 40:36at the weak. Oh yeah, I mean she's going home every night.
- 40:39But also I did like the moment they had on the one on one when
- 40:44they talked about their song and she's like, oh, at last, you
- 40:47know, and he's like, that's the song I was thinking of. Meanwhile,
- 40:52that's like every Yeah, I mean that was cute. It was also
- 40:54at every wedding too, you know, they saysn't yeah, Terresa, it
- 41:00was a spitfire. Oh sorry, Natasha. Yeah, remind me of Natasha.
- 41:06I'm looking at her picture now. What did she do? What was
- 41:07she up to? She was she was dancing around with him. She is
- 41:12the acting coach. She's the one that like the only one that may be
- 41:15there for shits and giggles, you know, like she she might just be
- 41:20there for having like some fun and like taking a little adventure like grow aging
- 41:24coach and midlife speaker. I mean that's perfect for this show, right,
- 41:30Yes, I mean she's got energy for days. She's a spitfire. You
- 41:36know, we'll see. I don't know that she's as into Gary as maybe.
- 41:44I'm like, there's someone else, there's somebody else maybe out there for
- 41:47her, you know, than him. But she is great and I think
- 41:52she made it the cut. If I'm not mistaken. I think she did
- 41:55too. Yeah, I also think you know, at the end of this
- 42:00it's possible that Kathy gets a restraining order against her from Gary or Gary's family.
- 42:07Kathy is gonna be She's gonna have a hard time. Yeah, she's
- 42:13gonna have a hard time with the beats of this show because she's already in
- 42:16a spot of like, you know, her and Teresa are like Teresa fell
- 42:24apart at one point and then she got herself back together, but I was
- 42:29like, there, it's not gonna make it through this episode. Okay.
- 42:30So that's because Teresa on her one on one gave him brought a cupcake because
- 42:36it's her birthday. Yeah, and like he ate some I don't know if
- 42:39she fed him or not. I'm not a fan of the feeding. I
- 42:43hate that. But they kissed with frosting on their mouths, and then what
- 42:49ended up happening was with his date is one on one with Faith, they
- 42:53were really making out and Teresa, that's where are you saying, that's where
- 42:58she really lost it, because that was actually thought she lost it prior to
- 43:01going down for her icing Like there she was, she was having this sort
- 43:06of meltdown from the couch, you know, where she was like, you
- 43:09know, when they get to the point where they're like, I gotta make
- 43:12a move, I gotta make you know, there was just I just thought,
- 43:15oh, she's she's a wild card, like Teresa is a little unhinged,
- 43:20I think in my humble and I I was like, oh god,
- 43:24she's you know, did was the kiss warranted? But the way he did
- 43:30put that icing I was a little suggestive. So I think she made the
- 43:36move that she had to make. But no, he went the kiss that
- 43:38was his kiss, that was real, was with with faith faith. Yeah,
- 43:45agree agree. The dance party that they had at the for the Roads,
- 43:53I can't. I couldn't deal with it. I couldn't deal with it.
- 43:58Next level entertaining like I can't. It was the greatest moment in television
- 44:06history, you know. And he did it though, Like I was proud
- 44:09of him, all dancing together. They were all dancing together and celebrating,
- 44:15and that's what we're here for. Well, just to you know, wrap
- 44:21this up nicely, I will say, I like the twenty women. I'm
- 44:30really happy about the diversity. I'm really happy about the age range. I
- 44:36thought there would be younger gals in there more, and I'm glad they're not.
- 44:39I'm really happy with the personalities that we've got. I'm happy with the
- 44:47looks, like the way they look. They look like real women. I
- 44:52mean, but you know, they're all obviously extremely beautiful, like real women
- 44:58at the top of their game, right there you go. You know these
- 45:01women have they look good. They look real good. Do you I mean,
- 45:13should we pick our front runners? Like, I mean, should we
- 45:15do a pick, Let's do a pick, Let's do a pick. Who
- 45:20do we think that he's gonna end up being with? I mean you,
- 45:25well, should we Let's what I mean. I think we should pick our
- 45:28top three, Like, let's go with top three and then and then we'll
- 45:35just we'll just land there because I mean, yeah, yeah, okay,
- 45:40okay, hmmm. Faith is just a given. So that's like faith is
- 45:46like going far. There's no two ways about that. I agree. I'm
- 45:52gonna say, ellen mm hmm wow. I would love Roberta to see that.
- 46:00But anyway, I know, I know, thank god, real tough.
- 46:08I do think that, Okay, Marina is stunning. Absolutely, did
- 46:19she's stunning? Did she say she did? Stay? Okay? Good,
- 46:22good, good, good good we didn't get to know much more about it
- 46:25now, So this is tough to do pics on the first one because it's,
- 46:30like you said, there are so many others that we really didn't get
- 46:31to know their stories, and she's she could be a sleeper hit. That's
- 46:36how I'm feeling about Marina, because she's very like elegant, and she's just
- 46:40an e that's elegant, and so I'm curious her energy may be a slower
- 46:46burn. I would like to see what happens with her, you know.
- 46:52For myself, I'm deeply curious to see if Sandra can what Sandra can do.
- 47:00I find her hilarious and I think she'll keep him right on his toes.
- 47:05But I don't. I don't know, you know, but I'm just
- 47:07talking some thoughts out here. I think the cursing might get to him,
- 47:12though, however, loosen him up. I do like Sandra, I mean,
- 47:16I like all these women. I just am trying to to I think
- 47:21he might be right. I think Susan might go the distance, though I
- 47:22really do, Oh god, Okay, I don't know it will be because
- 47:30he will have no choice but to make her like she's so it's like an
- 47:36energy force that you can't and you can't. Like, Gary's not strong enough,
- 47:39you know what I mean, Like, you know, he's just not
- 47:43strong enough to manage Susan. I'm so sorry. Like so she might just
- 47:46be there for a really long time because there's no other path, you know.
- 47:53But I like your Marina pick, and I'm gonna I'm gonna take Marina
- 47:59too. So I'm gonna say faith Ellen and Marina. That's what I'm gonna
- 48:01say. I like, I like you, how about I go faith Edith.
- 48:12Not because I know yet, but I'm just so taken with her that
- 48:16I'm curious to see more. And I'm right now, right this second,
- 48:22I'm gonna say Leslie because I think that, Wow, she's so spicy,
- 48:31and I think he may want that, you know, I don't know.
- 48:39He may want that invigorated like jolt. It may be intoxicating for him.
- 48:49I don't know. I don't know. I'm not even feeling secure. I'm
- 48:52just I'm just throwing some names out. We can change it every week,
- 48:55you know. Yeah, that's where we are right now. Okay, Yeah,
- 49:00I'm happy with this. I'm I'm blown away, blown away. They
- 49:04have a hit on their hands and they should be proud. Yep. And
- 49:08you know what, Amy, as much ship as we talked about Jesse,
- 49:14he's coming into his own I can I can handle that. I can handle
- 49:19that. And this is a good look for him, you know, yes,
- 49:23I know. My god, my daughter just came in the bounding through
- 49:27the door and on the bed. Hey what a cute guy. It's so
- 49:30cute. He's like that the show's over. Yeah right, yeah, I
- 49:36know. He's like, you're ready, so yeah, I mean, what
- 49:42a thrill, What a thrill. We're in on a journey. Like I'm
- 49:46scared for us because I know we're more like we're in like what you know
- 49:52what I mean, there's no way out but through, Like we're here with
- 49:57Gary and like we'll see you know, we will see, all right,
- 50:02Danna, Thank God, thank God that we're together doing this. Thank you
- 50:07trusted friends saying hold their hands together and feel in a safe space. My
- 50:13gosh, wow. Dana M. Chang on Instagram The montage Queen extraordinary.

- 50:32We are looking at the lingo that the kids are saying, we're looking at
- 50:37pick me? What is a pick me? Girl? I'm not going to
- 50:42get into it with you guys right now, because if you're interested, march
- 50:44yourself over another term coded X something coded. Do you know what that is?
- 50:52I bet you you don't because I didn't to get into that. Oh,
- 50:55and this one I'm gonna give you because a friend of mine time about
- 51:00buying a purse and she calls it a pocketbook and I said, Jen,
- 51:05that's a jersey. That's dated. We can't say pocketbook anymore. It is
- 51:10it's gone the way of the Dodo. And so we look at that,
- 51:15and you know where that leaves us. And when I'm still saying it,
- 51:21are you saying pocketbook? Amy? No? No, uh huh. I
- 51:23just always bring it up because Cake Boss says it. He's like, oh,
- 51:25make a pocketbook cake. And so I always thought it was so funny.
- 51:30And what I came to find out after acknowledging that on my show that
- 51:35everyone came out of the woodwork saying that that's an East Coast thing. Oh
- 51:40interesting. So not only did I learn that, but also but I don't
- 51:45think everyone on the East Coast is saying it, you know, I think,
- 51:49okay, so I do think that makes sense. But even from the
- 51:53East Coast, we can't be saying it anymore because it's it's like my mom
- 51:58used to call jeans dunk go put on a pair of dungarees. It's like,
- 52:02it's it's a dungaree at this point. So that's how to be less
- 52:08olds. I love it so much, Deanna Chang, thank you very much
