- 0:30Speaker 1: crazy hot. Nothing we don't see in Orlando for AJ
- 0:33Speaker 1: and me. Speaking of AJ, he is going to join
- 0:36Speaker 1: us mid show. He has been in a different city
- 0:39Speaker 1: basically every day, so he is en root and will
- 0:42Speaker 1: join us at some point as we chat. But we
- 0:44Speaker 1: are at the Pro Rivals Open. There are eighty big
- 0:47Speaker 1: time former pro athletes that are participating in a big
- 0:50Speaker 1: golf tournament, so we're excited to chat with many of
- 0:53Speaker 1: them for this show's purposes baseball players, but also you'll
- 0:57Speaker 1: see us do interviews on the Pro podcast channel, YouTube,
- 1:01Speaker 1: social media, etc. With hopefully names like Tony Romovince Carter
- 1:06Speaker 1: Ray Allen, Greg Maddox, who I would think can join
- 1:10Speaker 1: us for this show at some point over the next
- 1:11Speaker 1: couple of days. Today's scheduled guests Tyler Clifford, Wally Joyner,
- 1:17Speaker 1: and Aaron Hicks. Next segment, So Kratz, let's get into bis.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Let's cover the weekend, or at least begin covering the weekend.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Let's charge Let okay, former Yankee? What's going on in
- 1:31Speaker 1: the Bronx? The Red Sox are loving life right now
- 1:36Speaker 1: as the Yankees finally bit back on Sunday Night Baseball.
- 1:40Speaker 1: But the Red Sox took the first three games of
- 1:42Speaker 1: the series at that point. Heading into Sunday, they had
- 1:45Speaker 1: won eight of nine against the Yankees this year. Their
- 1:48Speaker 1: neck and neck in a wildcard race that obviously they
- 1:51Speaker 1: both can end up with spots in since Toronto's ahead
- 1:53Speaker 1: of them. But are the Yankees okay? And also do
- 1:56Speaker 1: they have to start paying attention to what's behind them?
- 1:58Speaker 1: In the Kansas City Royals getting close to a few
- 2:01Speaker 1: games back. Royle's playing the White Sox this week. I
- 2:04Speaker 1: know that the Yanks are playing the Nats, But where
- 2:05Speaker 1: are we at on this weekend? What did you learn?
- 2:08Speaker 2: I learned that the Yankees are okay, and not okay
- 2:12Speaker 2: in the sense that you said it. The Yankees are
- 2:15Speaker 2: just okay, Like it's really cool. It's like it's like
- 2:19Speaker 2: watching a fireworks show after a game and there's like
- 2:23Speaker 2: pauses in between the fireworks. You're like, is there, oh, no, nothing, Oh,
- 2:28Speaker 2: there goes one. It's like they have to as a team.
- 2:32Speaker 2: I'm not saying one individual is causing this. This is
- 2:35Speaker 2: an anthy Volpi's fault. This isn't Max Freed, who hasn't
- 2:38Speaker 2: been pitching as well as he did Before's fault. It's
- 2:42Speaker 2: not Devin Williams's fault, or Cashman or Boone. The whole team.
- 2:47Speaker 2: The whole team needs to play better together. It doesn't
- 2:51Speaker 2: mean they're not together as a team. It just means
- 2:53Speaker 2: you need to play better together and you figure out
- 2:55Speaker 2: how to scratch out runs and keep runs off the board.
- 3:00Speaker 2: It sounds remedial, but it's something that you're seeing night
- 3:04Speaker 2: in a night out basis against the Red Sox. The
- 3:06Speaker 2: Red Sox are like, screw it, we're gonna do it.
- 3:09Speaker 2: We're gonna put together good at bats. We're gonna also
- 3:12Speaker 2: hit the long ball, but we're gonna take the walks.
- 3:15Speaker 2: We're not gonna give you as many as many extra
- 3:17Speaker 2: outs as we used to during the beginning of the season.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Red Sox still make airs and it's not all the Yankees'
- 3:22Speaker 2: fault for making all their or all the airs aren't
- 3:25Speaker 2: the why they're losing too.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Yeah, and by the way, charge your Mountain powered by
- 3:31Speaker 1: MLB nine in Ning's twenty five today. Uh Kratz. Sloppiness
- 3:36Speaker 1: from the Yanks has been a theme for two years now.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Of course, Yankee fans are watching this team getting after
- 3:43Speaker 1: certain players like Anthony Boltby. It sounds like he's gonna
- 3:47Speaker 1: sit or continue to sit. He said he's going to
- 3:49Speaker 1: appear back in the starting lineup on Tuesday. So keeping
- 3:53Speaker 1: him out of the starting lineup is that more of
- 3:56Speaker 1: the Kyle Tucker treatment. Hey, let's give him a couple
- 3:59Speaker 1: of days to re set, or is it a sign
- 4:02Speaker 1: of things to come if he comes back still isn't
- 4:05Speaker 1: doing much. They try and figure something else out because
- 4:08Speaker 1: it's been such a lost season for him.
- 4:10Speaker 2: That's exactly what I said before. They got to figure
- 4:12Speaker 2: out a way to win. And guys who are not
- 4:15Speaker 2: hot at this time of year, when the Royals are
- 4:18Speaker 2: on their heels, you're not gonna play. It's not there's
- 4:23Speaker 2: no there's probably I'm gonna say there's two guys on
- 4:28Speaker 2: this whole roster that if they were to go through
- 4:32Speaker 2: a major slide a slump, would continue to play and
- 4:35Speaker 2: it would be Max Freed is going to continue to pitch,
- 4:39Speaker 2: Aaron Judge is going to be continued to be in
- 4:41Speaker 2: the lineup. But when Volpi's superpower, as Aaron Boone said,
- 4:47Speaker 2: it was his defense, and that's lacking a little bit.
- 4:50Speaker 2: And then you go through a one for sixteen skid,
- 4:53Speaker 2: you need a breather. It doesn't mean Anthony Volpey's going
- 4:56Speaker 2: down to triple A. Doesn't mean he's cooked and he
- 4:58Speaker 2: should never play again. To me, and I might get
- 5:02Speaker 2: eviscerated by Yankee fans. This team is better with him
- 5:06Speaker 2: playing shortstop, but he has to play good shortstop to
- 5:10Speaker 2: be in the big games, and it's essentially a try
- 5:14Speaker 2: It might be one of his first tryouts that he's
- 5:15Speaker 2: ever had in his life, because he's probably been better
- 5:18Speaker 2: than everybody else everywhere he's gone, and he's got a
- 5:21Speaker 2: month and a half. Cabriiro can play admirably, But you
- 5:26Speaker 2: want to big lead shortstop out there who's going to
- 5:28Speaker 2: field the ball, and I think that's Anthony Volpi. But
- 5:30Speaker 2: he has to turn it around to get those at
- 5:33Speaker 2: bats and get those innings.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Okay, but if he doesn't turn it around, Cabairo right, Yes, yes.
- 5:40Speaker 2: It's a tryout. I mean it has to be Cabairo.
- 5:43Speaker 2: That's why I think that's why they got him. His versatility, Yes,
- 5:47Speaker 2: but his ability to play.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Shortstop exactly gives you some insurance. They didn't really have
- 5:52Speaker 1: that before this. There were times this year where you're like, hey,
- 5:56Speaker 1: he maybe should even get options and just get a reset,
- 5:59Speaker 1: like a full full and it just wasn't in the cards.
- 6:03Speaker 1: For the most part. You really have somebody that should
- 6:06Speaker 1: be able to handle it. Sure that you want to say,
- 6:09Speaker 1: the defensive upside is not as high because Wolp he's
- 6:10Speaker 1: been a goal glover or elite defender in the past.
- 6:14Speaker 1: That's not him this year. So it's it's definitely spilled
- 6:17Speaker 1: into the mental components of his game. Let's focus on
- 6:19Speaker 1: the Red Sox. What do you have for us? On
- 6:21Speaker 1: the Red Sox? Kratz big statement weekend for them. They
- 6:25Speaker 1: bumped Bueller to the bullpen, by the way, but look
- 6:28Speaker 1: at the top three that they have and the starts
- 6:30Speaker 1: that they're putting together right now. Of course, Crochet is
- 6:33Speaker 1: battling it out for an al Cy Young bid. I
- 6:36Speaker 1: mean trek trek scouble again. But those two have very,
- 6:40Speaker 1: very eerily similar numbers so far this year. Brian Bao
- 6:43Speaker 1: has really found it. Lucas Giolito's pitching well for them lately.
- 6:47Speaker 1: That was the concern for me, for you, for almost
- 6:50Speaker 1: anybody that's following the game closely over the past year
- 6:53Speaker 1: or so. Are the Red Sox gonna have enough pitching
- 6:55Speaker 1: right now? They're answering the.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Bell they have enough start pitching. Maybe their bullpen is elite.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Their bullpen I did not think was built to be elite.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Their bullpen is I think second or third in Major
- 7:09Speaker 2: League Baseball in the RA right now. And I think
- 7:13Speaker 2: those two guys, Bayo and Crochet have done it long
- 7:17Speaker 2: enough to make it a consistent one to two combination.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Lucas Giulito might give you six in a playoff game,
- 7:25Speaker 2: he might give you a quality three. And the way
- 7:27Speaker 2: the playoffs are set up, this bullpen is set to
- 7:31Speaker 2: be able to get six outs for you in a
- 7:33Speaker 2: big game, in an elimination game that Gilito has to start.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Do they want to catch the Blue Jays? Absolutely, they
- 7:40Speaker 2: want to catch They want to get everybody lined up
- 7:44Speaker 2: in the play in their rotation to be able to throw,
- 7:48Speaker 2: so that they have Crochet going first game, Bayo going
- 7:52Speaker 2: second game. And the thing for me is that's the
- 7:55Speaker 2: kicker here is Bao BeO strikeouts are coming at times
- 8:00Speaker 2: when he needs strikeouts. He's always been that ground ball,
- 8:04Speaker 2: sinker ball guy. Now he's able to win. He gets
- 8:08Speaker 2: in a little bit of traffic, he's able to go
- 8:10Speaker 2: to the punch out, and he's not going for all,
- 8:13Speaker 2: so his strikeout numbers are not going to be that elevated,
- 8:16Speaker 2: but he's able to get the punch out when he
- 8:18Speaker 2: needs it in spots where he's gotten himself into a jam.
- 8:22Speaker 2: So to me, I think that's playoff caliber starter, and
- 8:26Speaker 2: they're set up right now because their position player corps
- 8:31Speaker 2: just a bunch of young guys that are playing playing inspired,
- 8:34Speaker 2: exciting baseball. I think Trevor's story is I forget how
- 8:39Speaker 2: many it is, but he went twenty eighty and twenty
- 8:42Speaker 2: twenty homers, eighty army eyes, and twenty stolen bases. Talk
- 8:46Speaker 2: about a resurgence after beginning of his contract that he's
- 8:49Speaker 2: signed with the Red Sox was looking kind of shady injury.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Odd is he going to come back from it? He's
- 8:55Speaker 2: not really there. He stepped up as one of the leaders,
- 8:58Speaker 2: him and Bregman as the to only two veterans on
- 9:02Speaker 2: the position player corps.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Yeah, and Bregman has just been an awesome part of
- 9:09Speaker 1: the mix for this team too, making a lot of
- 9:11Speaker 1: the young guys feel comfortable. I mean, he's done that
- 9:14Speaker 1: for a long time. The Astros have been successful for
- 9:18Speaker 1: many reasons. Alex Bregman was a big part of that
- 9:21Speaker 1: for a while, and I know people within the organization
- 9:25Speaker 1: that he's making a major impact on daily basis, even
- 9:28Speaker 1: when he was hurt. They're seeing it and they're loving it. Okay,
- 9:31Speaker 1: let's size up. After we look at a highlight here,
- 9:34Speaker 1: I want to size up where we're at with these
- 9:36Speaker 1: teams standings wise. We showed you for a moment, but
- 9:39Speaker 1: Boston tolding the first wildcard seed, Yankees are a half
- 9:42Speaker 1: game behind them. I hadn't even in the lost column,
- 9:46Speaker 1: and the Mariners have been stumbling in the last couple
- 9:49Speaker 1: of weeks. Then you've got Kansas City three games out,
- 9:52Speaker 1: Texas four and a half, Cleveland five. I mean, we
- 9:55Speaker 1: have to stop from there on out. But anyway, really
- 9:58Speaker 1: focusing on Kansas City. If anyone, do you think that
- 10:01Speaker 1: Kansas City can catch any of these three teams? In
- 10:03Speaker 1: which one would you be most concerned about? Would it
- 10:06Speaker 1: be the Yanks?
- 10:08Speaker 2: Originally No, Until I saw this weekend, I thought it
- 10:11Speaker 2: was gonna be the Red Sox. I thought some of
- 10:13Speaker 2: the youth, some of the defensive woes, the fact that
- 10:17Speaker 2: you have to move a gold glove center fielder to
- 10:20Speaker 2: second base for some games in Raphael like to me,
- 10:26Speaker 2: I thought it was gonna be the Red Sox. After
- 10:27Speaker 2: this weekend, could be the Yankees. It could be the
- 10:32Speaker 2: Yankees at the Royals catch. Do I think they're gonna
- 10:34Speaker 2: catch them? No? Three games is a lot, and the
- 10:37Speaker 2: Royals are playing well right now. They're not necessarily smoking hot,
- 10:42Speaker 2: but it's gonna take a smoking hot It's gonna take
- 10:46Speaker 2: a smoking hot stretch for them to even pull even
- 10:49Speaker 2: with those teams. Because I think the Mariners are the
- 10:53Speaker 2: best out of those three wild card teams. I think
- 10:56Speaker 2: they have a shot at the at the division just
- 10:59Speaker 2: because they're starting rotation, which is always good. Hasn't been great,
- 11:04Speaker 2: but they're starting to round in. They're starting to show
- 11:06Speaker 2: signs that they're pitching better.
- 11:10Speaker 1: M ft FAM, Welcome to the world's most comfortable swimwear
- 11:18Speaker 1: For a moment, we are talking about Fair Harbor. We
- 11:22Speaker 1: actually have some show and tell today. This is the
- 11:25Speaker 1: liner that you're working with inside of the shorts and
- 11:30Speaker 1: the bathing suits.
- 11:32Speaker 3: You know what the best part is about this gutt
- 11:33Speaker 3: what they have a lot of different options, because these
- 11:35Speaker 3: are clearly yours because I would never order this pattern.
- 11:38Speaker 1: But that is so mazing. That is so many these
- 11:40Speaker 1: are so.
- 11:40Speaker 3: You Mine are a little bit more plain than this, yes,
- 11:43Speaker 3: but they are super comfortable.
- 11:45Speaker 2: The liner. I love liner shorts.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Some people don't, but these liners are better than most
- 11:49Speaker 3: that I've had on, if not all of them.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Yeah, this is the best liner out.
- 11:52Speaker 2: There, no mash.
- 11:54Speaker 1: All the above is perfect exactly. It's really good. You
- 11:56Speaker 1: got to give it a shot. Also fun random facts.
- 12:00Speaker 1: You get a new shirt, it smells really good. So
- 12:02Speaker 1: head to Fairharbor Clothing dot com, slash foul and use
- 12:05Speaker 1: code foul for twenty percent off your first purchase. Once again,
- 12:07Speaker 1: Bear Harbor h A R B O R Clothing dot
- 12:10Speaker 1: com backslash fou l for twenty percent off your first
- 12:13Speaker 1: purchase and use that promo code foul, so they know
- 12:15Speaker 1: FT sent yet, all right, Kratz. Nolan McLain is also
- 12:22Speaker 1: on fire in his first couple starts for the Mets
- 12:25Speaker 1: and giving them length. So you can read this for
- 12:27Speaker 1: us since the screens McClain. But also I want to yeah, no, just.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Nolan McLain's the first Mets starter not named David Peterson
- 12:36Speaker 2: to finish six hittings since Clay Holmes on June seventh. Gee,
- 12:40Speaker 2: call a rookie up that's ready and steps right into
- 12:43Speaker 2: a pen chase that it could change the season for
- 12:47Speaker 2: this Yankee. I mean, for this Mets team. The bullpen
- 12:50Speaker 2: needs a breather, and he gave it to him.
- 12:54Speaker 1: And here's the thing. They have other fancy pitching prospects
- 12:57Speaker 1: that could be making, you know, a big, big impact
- 13:00Speaker 1: this year. Mets fans have been calling for Brandon Sproute
- 13:03Speaker 1: now the new name Jonah Thong not a new name.
- 13:05Speaker 1: He's actually been on our Baseball America Hot Chee show.
- 13:07Speaker 1: We're going to talk about him later when we do
- 13:09Speaker 1: that show on the Baseball America YouTube channel. But he
- 13:12Speaker 1: is one of the best stuff prospects pitcher wise in
- 13:16Speaker 1: the minor leagues right now. He dealt the other day
- 13:18Speaker 1: in Triple A. Mets might just roll out this rookie
- 13:21Speaker 1: rotation for the stretch run here because this is a
- 13:24Speaker 1: lit wild card race between the Mets and the Reds.
- 13:28Speaker 2: They have to put the pedal to the metal. That's
- 13:31Speaker 2: not what you want to hear when your bullpen's cashed
- 13:33Speaker 2: and your bullpen's exhausted. You went like five games to
- 13:36Speaker 2: like reset those guys. If it's rookies or if it's veterans,
- 13:41Speaker 2: they gotta get it done somehow.
- 13:45Speaker 1: All right, let's do this. Prizinski is here better than
- 13:47Speaker 1: box scores. We're gonna start with the first team to
- 13:49Speaker 1: be officially eliminated from the playoffs. There's a great tweet
- 13:53Speaker 1: I think it was from Nohiles, who covers the Pirates.
- 13:55Speaker 1: He's like, Pirates play spoiler, knock Rockies out of postseason.
- 13:58Speaker 1: They're officially eliminated. It's not even September yet.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Here's the problem. Though the Rockies are doing too well
- 14:03Speaker 3: this year, they're not going to set the all time
- 14:05Speaker 3: losses record, which White Sox fans are happy about, by
- 14:08Speaker 3: the way, because they'll have something to hang on.
- 14:10Speaker 1: They want it.
- 14:11Speaker 3: No, but no, it's something Listen if you constantly don't
- 14:16Speaker 3: have a lot, and it's been a long time. For
- 14:17Speaker 3: the White Sox fans, they at least they had the record,
- 14:19Speaker 3: so at least they'll have the most losses for more
- 14:21Speaker 3: than one year in a row. So that does mean something.
- 14:24Speaker 3: You don't want to just get a record and then
- 14:25Speaker 3: lose it right away.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Yeah, they're definitely not going to get there. They're like
- 14:28Speaker 1: thirty eight wins are they have ninety four losses crats
- 14:31Speaker 1: and the White Sox lost one twenty one. There's only
- 14:33Speaker 1: thirty one games left.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Not gonna happen. Sorry, White Sox still got the record,
- 14:40Speaker 2: the most dubious record that you could possibly have. But hey,
- 14:44Speaker 2: they've been hot. I know they lost, they got swept
- 14:47Speaker 2: by the Pirates, but before that, I think they are
- 14:51Speaker 2: seven and three, eight and two something like that. Going
- 14:54Speaker 2: into that Pirates series, they were hot. Watch out for
- 14:57Speaker 2: the Rockies. But it's just that's so to see a
- 15:01Speaker 2: percentage at two eighty two is your winning percentage, That's
- 15:07Speaker 2: that's crazy. That is a tough tough season to endure
- 15:10Speaker 2: for Rockies and Rockies fans.
- 15:14Speaker 1: The Rockies are hot. I know they got swept by
- 15:16Speaker 1: the Pirates, but.
- 15:17Speaker 3: Here here's the thing. I mean the Rockies. I don't know.
- 15:20Speaker 3: There was a tweet not long ago the Rockies had
- 15:22Speaker 3: a better winning percentage than the Dodgers from like a
- 15:25Speaker 3: certain point to now, and it was better than.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Yes, I don't know, it was from a point in July.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Yeah, which is still crazy because remember the Dodgers were
- 15:34Speaker 3: never going to lose.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Okay, well you said it, let's get to it. Dodgers
- 15:40Speaker 1: Padres tied atop the National League West. Yes, Dodgers Padres
- 15:45Speaker 1: tied atop the National League West. Today is August twenty fifth.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Padres take the series. This past weekend, they bit back.
- 15:55Speaker 3: You were there, thoughts, Well, I went to the Friday
- 15:58Speaker 3: night game. I didn't. I was I went before Friday
- 16:01Speaker 3: night and saw everybody and then went to dinner. Didn't
- 16:07Speaker 3: go to the game Friday night, but went to dinner
- 16:08Speaker 3: on Friday night, but got back. The game was so fast,
- 16:11Speaker 3: it was like two seventeen. So went to dinner, came back,
- 16:14Speaker 3: and by the time we got back, we stayed right
- 16:15Speaker 3: by the field. We weren't watching the game, and the
- 16:18Speaker 3: game was delayed on TV and you could hear the crowd,
- 16:21Speaker 3: so you knew what was happening before what happened on
- 16:24Speaker 3: the TV. So when Suarez got the final out, the
- 16:28Speaker 3: place went crazy. When Mason Miller made that pick, the
- 16:31Speaker 3: place went crazy. Which, by the way, I asked him,
- 16:34Speaker 3: he's gonna start playing first base? Now?
- 16:36Speaker 1: What did he say?
- 16:36Speaker 3: He started laughing. I go, you know, you just closed
- 16:38Speaker 3: your eyes and stuck your glove out, and he goes, oh,
- 16:41Speaker 3: he goes, no, I knew exactly what I was doing.
- 16:43Speaker 3: I was like, come on, Mason, and so he was laughing.
- 16:47Speaker 3: He's like, thank god, he goes, that's the worst I
- 16:49Speaker 3: pitched since I've been here. So I'm glad I got
- 16:50Speaker 3: out of it. And he was, you know, he's great.
- 16:53Speaker 3: But yeah, they win the first game. The second game,
- 16:55Speaker 3: they they dominated, I mean has dominated.
- 17:01Speaker 1: The dodge happened.
- 17:02Speaker 3: One dude, he just was cutting them in. He was
- 17:05Speaker 3: just changing speeds. He just didn't throw them over the plate.
- 17:08Speaker 3: And then Glass now was good. But the thing about
- 17:10Speaker 3: Tyler Glass Now is, and I said this on the air,
- 17:13Speaker 3: you just kind of waged him out and he started
- 17:15Speaker 3: walking a couple guys and then they just took the
- 17:17Speaker 3: one hit and not and Nesta was so good and
- 17:20Speaker 3: they didn't have Suarez or Miller on Saturday, and they
- 17:23Speaker 3: closed with Adam Estrada morehone. It was like, wait, what
- 17:27Speaker 3: you don't have Suarez or Miller. I mean Miller got
- 17:30Speaker 3: up but but but Schultz said he was trying to
- 17:32Speaker 3: stay away from him, but he still went Adam Estrada
- 17:36Speaker 3: morey hoone to finish the game. Like, and that's five
- 17:39Speaker 3: dudes that are better than most guys, anybody in most guys, Penn.
- 17:42Speaker 1: That's the point what they were able to put together here.
- 17:44Speaker 1: It's special. You know. By the way, I'm in a
- 17:47Speaker 1: big spot. I mean they're if not a favorite, they're
- 17:49Speaker 1: up there right by the way.
- 17:51Speaker 3: So Preller I got I've never met Preller, aj Preller.
- 17:55Speaker 3: So I got to meet Preller on Saturday. And I've
- 17:58Speaker 3: never even when I was at the Rangers, I never
- 18:00Speaker 3: met him, and he was with the Rangers at the time,
- 18:02Speaker 3: so I actually get to talk to him. He's funny.
- 18:05Speaker 3: He's quirky funny.
- 18:07Speaker 1: That's a good way to put it.
- 18:08Speaker 3: He's quirky funny. And I was like, hey, man, I
- 18:10Speaker 3: love what you do. He's like prospects. He's like yeah,
- 18:13Speaker 3: he was like, what you said? We got another draft
- 18:15Speaker 3: next year? We can get twenty more and we got
- 18:16Speaker 3: another international sign we got we can get more there,
- 18:20Speaker 3: he said, if I can get if he goes, if
- 18:21Speaker 3: I have a chance to bring a World Series to
- 18:23Speaker 3: San Diego, He's like, I gotta go for it. He goes,
- 18:25Speaker 3: this team I feel like has a chance, especially with
- 18:27Speaker 3: where the Dodgers are at in the National League, we
- 18:29Speaker 3: have a chance. He's like, I'm going for it. And
- 18:31Speaker 3: he's like I did.
- 18:32Speaker 1: And he's got a confidence level that he can find
- 18:34Speaker 1: more prospects.
- 18:35Speaker 3: He said, up, but he can't faith. He is my
- 18:38Speaker 3: favorite line though. He said, I don't watch your show,
- 18:41Speaker 3: but I seen clips of this, and then I'm like,
- 18:43Speaker 3: well that's what we're dying laughing, and Ken Rosenthal and
- 18:48Speaker 3: I were talking to him. We were dying laughing, and
- 18:50Speaker 3: then I said, well you can come on. He said,
- 18:52Speaker 3: if he wins, the World Series will come on. Okay,
- 18:54Speaker 3: So are we Padre fans.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Now, Well, that's a crats. That's a very common theme
- 18:59Speaker 1: in the industry. Sometimes you'll come across someone that tries
- 19:01Speaker 1: to play cool, like I don't watch your show, but
- 19:03Speaker 1: and then they recall things that aj me and you
- 19:06Speaker 1: don't even remember. Yeah, but like that time when you
- 19:09Speaker 1: guys said this, we're like, oh, I forgot about that.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:12Speaker 1: So anyway, I got a text from the GM. Y.
- 19:16Speaker 2: I got a text from the GM the other day.
- 19:19Speaker 2: The GM the other a GM the other day text
- 19:21Speaker 2: me and said I liked what you said about a
- 19:24Speaker 2: certain topic. It might give away who it was, but
- 19:27Speaker 2: it was they're listening, they're watching. Maybe they don't watch
- 19:30Speaker 2: the whole show. That's okay, only our FT loyals are
- 19:33Speaker 2: watching the whole show, but they're picking it up. They see.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Yeah, you can choose your spots.
- 19:38Speaker 3: But it's still cool to hear like gms and presidents
- 19:41Speaker 3: and all that say, oh I don't watch, but I
- 19:43Speaker 3: seen clips of this and that and all that stuff.
- 19:46Speaker 3: So yeah, it's it's it's pretty funny actually. But he
- 19:49Speaker 3: was great, I mean he was awesome. He was asking
- 19:51Speaker 3: me about all these different things I see. And so
- 19:53Speaker 3: Friday night's game was like two fifteen and Darvish started,
- 19:56Speaker 3: and then Saturday was two fifteen with Nestor and Glass
- 20:00Speaker 3: snow right. But I saw Darvish. I caught Darvish back
- 20:03Speaker 3: in twenty thirteen with the Rangers, and I see you
- 20:05Speaker 3: and I see you. WTF dude, two hours and seventeen
- 20:08Speaker 3: minutes with you on the mound. He goes, I've changed, right,
- 20:11Speaker 3: I've changed. I'm different now, and I'm like, well finally,
- 20:14Speaker 3: he goes, right, it only took me ten years to
- 20:15Speaker 3: figure it out.
- 20:16Speaker 1: I'm like, yes, I'm so happy. Gosh, you used to
- 20:18Speaker 1: probably catch four hours you dive. You knew it was
- 20:22Speaker 1: going to be an absolute slog fast. He was so
- 20:24Speaker 1: good though, he was nasty, but it was gonna take forever. Okay,
- 20:27Speaker 1: did you see the Heckler and yes.
- 20:31Speaker 3: That was yesterday.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Yeah, that was yes, I see the clip.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Yeah it was cool. Yeah, cool, right, good for.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Show said he was all over there, Doug. I mean
- 20:38Speaker 1: you're right there. First of all, if you see that,
- 20:40Speaker 1: you see where that guy is. For everyone else that didn't.
- 20:42Speaker 3: Catch almost in the Padres dugout.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Yeah, but he's like the bench coach.
- 20:46Speaker 3: If you haven't been to Peco and seeing what Peco is,
- 20:52Speaker 3: especially against the Dodgers, it is. If it's not the
- 20:56Speaker 3: best scene in baseball right now, going with with the
- 21:00Speaker 3: Dodgers in town, it's gotta be one or two. I
- 21:02Speaker 3: mean maybe Philly maybe, But I'm telling you right now,
- 21:06Speaker 3: if you have not been to Peco, especially when they
- 21:08Speaker 3: play the Dodgers, and it sold out. They had the
- 21:10Speaker 3: yellow rally towels going. They're singing all the small things
- 21:14Speaker 3: in the eighth inning. Every by the way, it's kind
- 21:16Speaker 3: of annoyed me because you know how I am. Every
- 21:18Speaker 3: reliever that came in had their own little light show,
- 21:21Speaker 3: and Padres, yeah, I got every guy that came in
- 21:26Speaker 3: had their own little show. So hey, whatever the crowd
- 21:29Speaker 3: was into it, it was cool. But Padres are good, man.
- 21:32Speaker 3: The Padres aren't going away. If they could hit some homers,
- 21:34Speaker 3: they'd be really good.
- 21:34Speaker 1: But you've been to Yankees, Red Sox, you've been to Dodgers, Giants.
- 21:38Speaker 1: The big theme of the week was and some of
- 21:41Speaker 1: the answers from our show got viral from it. You know, oh,
- 21:44Speaker 1: Padres Dodgers, that's not the best rivalry in baseball.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Go to a game and get back to me. Okay,
- 21:49Speaker 3: go to a game.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Especially from a lot of Giants and Dodgers people that
- 21:53Speaker 1: are like Giants Dodgers is the bigger robbery than Dodgers
- 21:57Speaker 1: right now? Are Dodgers Padres? And I'm like, not right now?
- 22:00Speaker 1: Nationally aren't good right now, So sorry about it. All right,
- 22:05Speaker 1: last thing anything changed for us from the weekend Padres
- 22:08Speaker 1: or Dodgers.
- 22:10Speaker 3: It's gonna go down to the wire. Here's the thing. You
- 22:12Speaker 3: gotta get Monsie back. They getting Kik back. Shortly, they're
- 22:14Speaker 3: getting Tommy Emman, They're getting Kim back. The Dodgers are
- 22:18Speaker 3: the Padres have those reinforcements coming. Merrill's heard again, Yeah,
- 22:22Speaker 3: Meryll's heard, But we're.
- 22:23Speaker 1: You know, not back.
- 22:24Speaker 3: So yeah, but but I mean, you know, the sum
- 22:27Speaker 3: of Key, k Max, Kim and Edmund, that's four new
- 22:32Speaker 3: players they're injecting into their exactly they're injecting into their
- 22:36Speaker 3: their lineup. They got Tanner Scott back, They're starting to
- 22:39Speaker 3: get some of their bullpen guys back. So do I
- 22:42Speaker 3: think the Padres can win this division? Yes? It was
- 22:44Speaker 3: funny Preller by the way he goes, Oh, everyone's picked
- 22:46Speaker 3: the Padres except for He goes, even Ken picked the Padres,
- 22:50Speaker 3: you know, And I was like, I didn't make a pick,
- 22:52Speaker 3: so I'm just staying out of this.
- 22:53Speaker 1: And then he was putting pressure.
- 22:54Speaker 3: And then I think Doc said something to Ken too
- 22:56Speaker 3: about it. Ken rose the whole Ballty, oh you picked
- 22:58Speaker 3: the Padres too, and Docs and Ken's like, you know,
- 23:01Speaker 3: I can't get gotta play the the middle. It was funny,
- 23:05Speaker 3: but you know, people people that don't you know, people
- 23:08Speaker 3: getting people don't watch, but they always see that.
- 23:10Speaker 1: They saw that. I don't even remember which TV. Wow,
- 23:14Speaker 1: they're really dialed. Do your job, crats. Which team is.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Gonna come down to whoever gets the most home games
- 23:20Speaker 2: in the playoffs? In my opinion, look at the home recker.
- 23:23Speaker 3: Here's what they just.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Padres just but Padres just went to Chevez, Ravine got swept.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Dodgers come into San Diego, they won two or three.
- 23:33Speaker 2: The Padres won two of three. That's what it's gonna
- 23:35Speaker 2: come down.
- 23:36Speaker 3: To, Cratsy. You think about this, though, both these teams
- 23:40Speaker 3: are gonna have to play the wildcar round. There's no
- 23:42Speaker 3: getting through now because they're too both of them are
- 23:45Speaker 3: too far behind. They're not going to catch the Phillies
- 23:47Speaker 3: and they're probably not gonna catch them. They're definitely not
- 23:49Speaker 3: probably not gonna catch They're probably not gonna catch the Phillies.
- 23:52Speaker 3: So they're gonna have to play the wildcard round just
- 23:55Speaker 3: to get to the Division of them might not make it.
- 23:57Speaker 3: One of them might not make it to the Division series.
- 23:59Speaker 3: So right now, what is it? It'd be Mets, It'd be Dodgers,
- 24:03Speaker 3: I think because they have the tiebreaker, so they'd be
- 24:05Speaker 3: the three yep and then the four would be the
- 24:07Speaker 3: Padres and then five is the Cubs. So if you
- 24:13Speaker 3: get Padres, Cubs, Dodgers, Mets in the wild card and
- 24:17Speaker 3: L is good, you'll get them.
- 24:19Speaker 1: That is good. Crats. If you need to pay rent
- 24:27Speaker 1: for your apartment and you're not getting anything for it,
- 24:29Speaker 1: then you probably haven't heard of Built.
- 24:32Speaker 2: You have to pay rent every single month, why not
- 24:34Speaker 2: get some points that you can redeem for other things
- 24:37Speaker 2: that are a lot more fun than paying rent, like flights, hotels,
- 24:41Speaker 2: uber rides.
- 24:43Speaker 1: That's right, and it doesn't stop there. Built is about
- 24:46Speaker 1: making your entire neighborhood more rewarding. You can dine at

- 25:16Speaker 1: I N b I l T dot com slash f
- 25:19Speaker 1: o u L. Make sure to use our U r
- 25:20Speaker 1: L so they know that FT sent you get after it. Hey,
- 25:26Speaker 1: did you see this? So we did the BBW A
- 25:29Speaker 1: a award show. That's the big awards, the awards in
- 25:31Speaker 1: Major League Baseball, and now they're adding the Relief Pitcher
- 25:35Speaker 1: of the Year awards. The LNL that's the league. This
- 25:38Speaker 1: is the gonna be the writer. But yeah, yeah, they
- 25:44Speaker 1: sold that for a while and I think now it's
- 25:46Speaker 1: called the Mariano and the Trever Hoffman. But now they're
- 25:49Speaker 1: gonna do their own. I mean it makes sense. They've
- 25:51Speaker 1: got everything else they've got outside, they've got.
- 25:56Speaker 3: This year.
- 25:58Speaker 1: I mean, putting me on the.
- 25:59Speaker 3: Spot with I just put you right on Suarez and the.
- 26:03Speaker 1: No.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Who I'm saying, who would it be this year?
- 26:06Speaker 1: Perhaps help is Duran.
- 26:09Speaker 3: He's weird. Duran switched leagues so so to Mason Miller.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean we're gonna miss like a million people.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Because there's there's mcguil.
- 26:18Speaker 1: There's a lot of good believers. He's blown three of
- 26:20Speaker 1: his last four saves.
- 26:21Speaker 3: Okay, well he's out wait to crash my party.
- 26:25Speaker 1: They put me on the spot. Can someone help me?
- 26:27Speaker 1: We're doing eighty things here, yeah, said Suarez. I said, oh,
- 26:32Speaker 1: Chapman or all this Chapman. That's good one.
- 26:35Speaker 3: Having a hell of a year. Yeah. Duran from the
- 26:37Speaker 3: Durant switch leagues, he can't know.
- 26:39Speaker 1: That's that's a tough one, guys.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Okay, it's a twenty twenty six.
- 26:45Speaker 3: But for this year, it be fun to see.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Oh so it's not this year. There's not going to
- 26:49Speaker 1: be one this year. It starts next year. Yep. Okay, cool,
- 26:52Speaker 1: Well I'm into it. That showed you how deep the
- 26:56Speaker 1: rabbit hole go. Hm, it's hit a little inside edge.
- 27:04Speaker 1: You know who's playing really good ball. Trey Turner having
- 27:07Speaker 1: a nice little season.
- 27:08Speaker 3: He's in the batting title race. I don't know. It's
- 27:10Speaker 3: like right around three hundred. It was him, Freddie will Smith,
- 27:12Speaker 3: and there's one other one that's right around three hundred
- 27:14Speaker 3: in the National League. He's got a chance to win
- 27:16Speaker 3: a batting title.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Six sixty seven with runners on base over the last
- 27:19Speaker 1: fourteen days, best in the National League. Yeah, that'll play.
- 27:21Speaker 1: That works, that'll work. Kratz, what do you see you're
- 27:24Speaker 1: reporting life on the scene from Philly area.
- 27:27Speaker 2: It's I think he's like twelve up, twelve up, most
- 27:30Speaker 2: amount of hits in the league. Like he's he's making
- 27:34Speaker 2: a lot more contact on breaking balls that he wasn't
- 27:37Speaker 2: making other years, and he's not chasing as many. So
- 27:41Speaker 2: I don't know if he'll get the batting title. I
- 27:43Speaker 2: think Freddy will probably squeak it out, but Trey just
- 27:45Speaker 2: as collecting hits.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a good season front to back here for Philly,
- 27:52Speaker 1: and now they're not going to have to sweat it
- 27:55Speaker 1: to the finish line for the division with the way
- 27:58Speaker 1: the Mets have been playing these two teams up this week,
- 28:00Speaker 1: by the way, that's in Phillies.
- 28:03Speaker 3: They need they need Nola to get back to being Nola, yes,
- 28:06Speaker 3: off off his injury. They lost Wheeler, yeah, which has
- 28:09Speaker 3: been incredible. Suarez has been really good. Loardo has been good.
- 28:12Speaker 3: So they're in a good spot in those Phillies they are.
- 28:16Speaker 2: That's what he said.
- 28:17Speaker 1: That's what he said.
- 28:19Speaker 2: That's what he said.
- 28:20Speaker 1: That's what he said. Let's starry with Baba Chandler, when
- 28:24Speaker 1: the top pitching prospects in the sport makes his debut
- 28:28Speaker 1: on Friday and records a four innings save. In his debut,
- 28:32Speaker 1: he shut down the Colorado Rockies and his first strikeout
- 28:37Speaker 1: was on a one hundred mile an hour fastball. Four
- 28:40Speaker 1: shutout innings. The notable part of the performance was what
- 28:44Speaker 1: he said after the game, too, AJ So here's that.
- 28:46Speaker 1: That's what he said. Part of it as if he
- 28:49Speaker 1: thought he should get up called up sooner. But there's
- 28:56Speaker 1: not a lot of twenty two year old kid straight
- 29:01Speaker 1: forward about it. Yeah, I want to be here soon.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Why isn't he starting? That's the question. What if he's
- 29:07Speaker 3: gonna throw four ings at the bullpen one?
- 29:11Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a great question. Why is he not starting?
- 29:15Speaker 2: And I think it's something that historically the Pirates have
- 29:20Speaker 2: kind of screwed up starting pictures. They haven't. They've made
- 29:23Speaker 2: some great ones Tyler Glass now, Garrett Cole, you go
- 29:27Speaker 2: to you know now Paul Schemes, but they've done better
- 29:31Speaker 2: when they've gone to other places. So this is a
- 29:34Speaker 2: different regime. The people that I talked to that were
- 29:38Speaker 2: in charge said they want to ease his Major League
- 29:41Speaker 2: experience in and it confuses me because I've never seen
- 29:47Speaker 2: I've never seen a team say oh, yeah, well this
- 29:51Speaker 2: is why this worked. And you know, to me, I
- 29:55Speaker 2: think it's it's confusing. Why you would have somebody do
- 29:58Speaker 2: something completely different when you go up to the big leagues.
- 30:01Speaker 2: They gave him four innings, they give him clean inning,
- 30:03Speaker 2: you know, they give him enough time to ramp up.
- 30:06Speaker 2: But it's all stuff he's never done. I would have
- 30:08Speaker 2: hated to go to the big leagues as a catcher
- 30:10Speaker 2: throughout the minor leagues and then say hey, we're gonna
- 30:14Speaker 2: go play you in left field. We'll give you a
- 30:16Speaker 2: lot of practice and we'll give you a lot of
- 30:17Speaker 2: heads up, but you're gonna go play left field. That
- 30:20Speaker 2: would be super difficult. I feel like that's what they're
- 30:23Speaker 2: setting up Bubba Chandler to be in a bad spot.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Doing this to him just so stupid.
- 30:33Speaker 3: He's been a starter his whole life. Just start him.
- 30:35Speaker 1: If you want him to be, then let him go
- 30:38Speaker 1: four or five to playoff race.
- 30:42Speaker 3: I don't understand if you want to be out of
- 30:44Speaker 3: it since since opening day. If you want, if you
- 30:47Speaker 3: want him to be a starter going forward, why not
- 30:50Speaker 3: get used to being started. Why are you getting him
- 30:52Speaker 3: used to being a reliever? Was he gonna be your closer? No,
- 30:55Speaker 3: he's going to be a starter. Let the guy start
- 30:57Speaker 3: and let him pitch every fit thing and get used
- 30:58Speaker 3: to it. Because I guarante years never pitched every fifth
- 31:01Speaker 3: day in his life. So let him do it now
- 31:02Speaker 3: for the last month. Get four or five starts if
- 31:05Speaker 3: you only have to, like do what crocheted, get him
- 31:07Speaker 3: three innings, if you got limit his innings, whatever, but
- 31:09Speaker 3: get him used to getting a routine to start every
- 31:11Speaker 3: fifth day.
- 31:11Speaker 1: I don't get it, No one does. Nobody does.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Nobody does. The people I asked didn't really have didn't
- 31:19Speaker 2: really have an answer that I've ever heard. But again,
- 31:23Speaker 2: I don't want to be a guy that's like, well
- 31:25Speaker 2: they've done this forever. It's doun like it just feels
- 31:30Speaker 2: like it feels like you're not getting the most out
- 31:33Speaker 2: of him. Maybe nothing happens, maybe he ends up being
- 31:36Speaker 2: an elite starter later in his career, or you know,
- 31:39Speaker 2: next year when he jumps into the rotation. But it's like,
- 31:42Speaker 2: are you punishing him? Is it because his walk weight
- 31:46Speaker 2: walk rate went up when he was in the minor leagues?
- 31:50Speaker 2: The last few months when he already should have been
- 31:52Speaker 2: called up, but the Pirates didn't call him up because
- 31:54Speaker 2: it's service time manipulation and he can be a Rookie
- 31:56Speaker 2: of the Year next year. Like, let's just call spade
- 31:59Speaker 2: a spade.
- 32:02Speaker 1: When it comes to the Pirates, I'm always trying to
- 32:04Speaker 1: think of what they're doing to screw over the player.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Is it wrong to think that way? If you're going
- 32:10Speaker 1: to think of one organization that.
- 32:12Speaker 3: Just No, I don't want to players. You always want
- 32:15Speaker 3: to try to give everybody the benefit of the doubt.
- 32:17Speaker 3: I just this one just doesn't make sense. If you
- 32:19Speaker 3: want him to be a starter next year, just let
- 32:21Speaker 3: him start. He's not gonna hit an innings thing. He's
- 32:22Speaker 3: not gonna hit a he's not going to hit a
- 32:25Speaker 3: Rookie of the Year thing. You've already passed that, So
- 32:27Speaker 3: just let him start. Just let him go out there
- 32:28Speaker 3: and see what he's got. I mean, Skeen's Jones, Chandler,
- 32:32Speaker 3: that's a good start to your rotation for next year.
- 32:34Speaker 3: If you're Keller, there's four that are pretty good start.
- 32:37Speaker 3: So why would you waste? Why would you waste? Why
- 32:39Speaker 3: would you you want him to get used to being
- 32:41Speaker 3: a reliever, like, no, if he's going to be a starter,
- 32:43Speaker 3: let him start. I don't know, whatever, Hey whatever. That's
- 32:46Speaker 3: why that's why I'm not a GM, because I'd be
- 32:49Speaker 3: like start.
- 32:49Speaker 1: But most gms don't do that. That's why we're bringing
- 32:52Speaker 1: this up. We're not just complaining because it's the Pirates.
- 32:54Speaker 1: We're actually going to praise the Pirates in a moment.
- 32:56Speaker 1: I mean they've done a nice job developing some pitching
- 32:58Speaker 1: above a Chandler included, right, so credit there, but just
- 33:02Speaker 1: confusing sometimes about the way things are going at the
- 33:05Speaker 1: big league level real quick. Baba Chandler, knowing he had
- 33:09Speaker 1: a chance to go pro, was told to put on
- 33:11Speaker 1: twenty pounds when he was a high schooler. I think
- 33:15Speaker 1: when I was reading more into this, they were like,
- 33:16Speaker 1: you could make like an extra million bucks or something
- 33:18Speaker 1: because he was one of those guys that could have
- 33:19Speaker 1: played football.
- 33:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:21Speaker 1: I think he had an offer or commitment somewhere and
- 33:23Speaker 1: then he said no and ended up getting a few
- 33:25Speaker 1: million bucks. So he ate between seven and eight thousand
- 33:29Speaker 1: calories a day. In addition to three normal meals a day,
- 33:32Speaker 1: he would usually add on ten peanut butter and jelly
- 33:35Speaker 1: sandwiches four protein shakes and six big map Big Max
- 33:40Speaker 1: or whoppers every day. That's what the article says.
- 33:44Speaker 3: That's way more than seven to eight thousand calories. I'm
- 33:46Speaker 3: sorry because in one big Mac is like a thousand calories.
- 33:49Speaker 1: I hope they mean per week, but I.
- 33:51Speaker 3: Think if you had six to seven Big Max per day,
- 33:54Speaker 3: first of all, you're probably in whoppers. You're probably going
- 33:56Speaker 3: to not feel very good, not be able to pitch
- 33:59Speaker 3: that day. I remember I had mono one year. I
- 34:01Speaker 3: got mono in nineteen ninety five when I was in Appleton, Wisconsin.
- 34:05Speaker 3: I lost like forty pounds and there was a dairy
- 34:07Speaker 3: queen Elizabeth and Tennessee, and they're like, go to dairy
- 34:09Speaker 3: queen every day and just eat whatever he wants every day.
- 34:11Speaker 3: Come into the clubhouse like a big old peanut buster
- 34:14Speaker 3: parfait and was just stuff in my fat face with
- 34:16Speaker 3: it because I was trying to put weight back on it.
- 34:18Speaker 3: Where's the greatest Wow? Everyone come in with McDonald's, Hardy's,
- 34:24Speaker 3: who wait this plubbe guys and go who wait hardies,
- 34:29Speaker 3: mashed potatos and gravy.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Excuse everybody wants to put the people that want to
- 34:35Speaker 2: put on weight can't. The people who don't want to
- 34:38Speaker 2: put on weight.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Can true true often the case.
- 34:42Speaker 3: Right, Listen, you can always put on weight if you
- 34:44Speaker 3: eat enough. I don't care who you are if you eat,
- 34:46Speaker 3: if you eat enough, you always can put on weight.
- 34:48Speaker 3: You just got to eat. People like people don't like
- 34:51Speaker 3: to eat.
- 34:52Speaker 2: I just watched No, No, that's fair, that's fair.
- 34:57Speaker 1: I mean maybe AJ would host that show because they
- 34:59Speaker 1: did the Biggest Loser for a long time and it
- 35:01Speaker 1: got controversial. I watched the documentary on Netflix. Is pretty good.
- 35:04Speaker 1: But maybe you do the reverse of that. AJ teaches
- 35:07Speaker 1: you how even if I think you can't put on
- 35:09Speaker 1: weight and you're Bubba Chandler, He's like, let me show
- 35:11Speaker 1: you how it's done. Okay, baby, trust me.
- 35:15Speaker 3: If you eat, you put on weight. You just gotta eat.
- 35:17Speaker 3: But there's like, so my son is a freshman in college. Yeah,
- 35:21Speaker 3: and all his teammates want to put on weight. You
- 35:22Speaker 3: needed to put on weight, He did you put on
- 35:24Speaker 3: You put on a lot of weight. Because how we're
- 35:26Speaker 3: just like started you want you on weaight protein? Proteins. Proteins.
- 35:30Speaker 3: Oh you're you're feeling a little hungry. Here here's here's
- 35:33Speaker 3: pre made chicken. Eat it. Here's pre made steak bites.
- 35:35Speaker 3: Eat it left him now. Yeah, but it was more
- 35:38Speaker 3: of like the intake. Yeah, because what happens is people
- 35:40Speaker 3: are like, oh, I can only eat three meals a day. Well,
- 35:42Speaker 3: you know what you gotta eat. You gotta eat a
- 35:43Speaker 3: lot of protein, and you gotta eat a lot of calories.
- 35:45Speaker 3: But you also have to eat in between meals. So
- 35:47Speaker 3: anytime you feel a little craving, we'll get a thing
- 35:50Speaker 3: of protein. There's a couple of hundred calories five four
- 35:53Speaker 3: or five hundred colories boom. But it's good calories that
- 35:55Speaker 3: you can put on weight. Anyone can put on weight.
- 35:57Speaker 3: Losing weight to me is way harder than putting on weight.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Mm hmmm mm hmm. Paul Skins Sunday seven scoreless against
- 36:06Speaker 1: the Rockies first fifty starts two oh two e r
- 36:10Speaker 1: a lowest in the Live Ball era since nineteen twenty.
- 36:13Speaker 1: I think that is was by the Blue nineteen sixty
- 36:17Speaker 1: nine to nineteen seventy two at two oh one, so
- 36:19Speaker 1: basically the same. I mean, it's one of the best
- 36:22Speaker 1: starts we've ever seen.
- 36:23Speaker 3: CC was way harder for Paul Skins in it than.
- 36:25Speaker 1: This is era higher than Oh yeah, oh so there
- 36:28Speaker 1: you go.
- 36:28Speaker 3: The SEC was way harder.
- 36:31Speaker 1: SEC. It's just different.
- 36:33Speaker 3: Just means war. It just means more. Down there, crowds,
- 36:35Speaker 3: you guys would understand.
- 36:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it's built different. They're built different. It's the best
- 36:39Speaker 2: best baseball teams money can buy.
- 36:42Speaker 1: One more. I want to get to this. Shane Bieber
- 36:45Speaker 1: debuts Friday, dealing.
- 36:47Speaker 3: Good for him. You know what what over all? Over year?
- 36:50Speaker 3: Right since he.
- 36:50Speaker 1: Pitched Yeah, last year in I believe April or March.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Is when a pick up starts. What a pickup for
- 36:55Speaker 3: the Blue Jays?
- 36:56Speaker 1: Right and strikeouts against the Marlins?
- 36:58Speaker 3: What a pickup? Think about that? No nobody even I mean,
- 37:01Speaker 3: I guess he was on the block, but he hadn't
- 37:02Speaker 3: pitched in a big league game. And so long, blue
- 37:04Speaker 3: Jay's gonna suresers rebounded. They got Bieber, Gossman, Bassett, Barrios,
- 37:10Speaker 3: Hoffin's having a good year. Lower that's pretty good rotation, Bieber.
- 37:14Speaker 1: So here's the thing.
- 37:15Speaker 3: By the way, the Blue Jays are winning, that they're
- 37:17Speaker 3: gonna win, that.
- 37:18Speaker 1: They're taking the East up five games on Boston, five
- 37:20Speaker 1: and a half on Kratsy's supposed to be a pretty
- 37:24Speaker 1: good prospect. Also, they took on not only the money
- 37:26Speaker 1: this year, but then next year in case he did
- 37:28Speaker 1: pick up the player option, which now looks pretty unlikely.
- 37:31Speaker 1: If he's gonna throw starts like that together for the
- 37:32Speaker 1: rest of the year, he'll go to free agency. So
- 37:35Speaker 1: good risk if he looks like that.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Good risk they gave up. They gave up a decent
- 37:40Speaker 2: prospect the Blue Jays. I don't think he slots in
- 37:43Speaker 2: right now because he has to show that he can
- 37:46Speaker 2: he can continue this if he hasn't blipping, if he
- 37:49Speaker 2: has a blip in the radar here and the next
- 37:52Speaker 2: you know, Let's say he puts together five good starts
- 37:56Speaker 2: in seven starts. Is that enough? Is that enough to
- 37:58Speaker 2: bump one of those guys that you mentioned out of
- 38:01Speaker 2: the rotation for the playoffs? I don't think so. And
- 38:04Speaker 2: I don't think coming off of Tommy John. I just
- 38:08Speaker 2: have a tough time saying all they're going to move
- 38:09Speaker 2: him to the bullpen. There's just uncertainty coming off that
- 38:13Speaker 2: off of Tommy John. I don't know. I don't think
- 38:15Speaker 2: he's one of their top rotation pieces for the playoffs.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Wait, you don't.
- 38:19Speaker 3: No, he's saying he's not gonna make the rotation to
- 38:21Speaker 3: the playoffs.
- 38:22Speaker 1: Oh no, he is making their rotation in the playoffs
- 38:24Speaker 1: if he looks like.
- 38:25Speaker 3: That, agreed, I mean he might be their game one
- 38:28Speaker 3: start if he keep those four more starts like that.
- 38:30Speaker 1: I think he's going to be a playoff starter. If
- 38:32Speaker 1: we're getting this version of him like we saw. I
- 38:35Speaker 1: know it's one start, but yeah, Kratz. Of course, if
- 38:38Speaker 1: he goes through some struggles here coming up, they'll bump
- 38:41Speaker 1: them because they do have other options. But I think
- 38:43Speaker 1: if he looks like the Shane Bieber of old, I
- 38:46Speaker 1: mean his vila was up from last time we saw him.
- 38:48Speaker 1: He's starting one. He's starting to the best out of
- 38:52Speaker 1: five as one of the top over.
- 38:54Speaker 2: Over Gosman, over Bassett and over Bury.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Us yes, over all three.
- 39:02Speaker 2: He's gonna have to put together a legit six or
- 39:06Speaker 2: seven starts.
- 39:08Speaker 3: Okay, he has a saw Young in his back pocket,
- 39:10Speaker 3: just saying, what do you do a sures er, what
- 39:12Speaker 3: do you allower? There's a nice problem to have. And
- 39:17Speaker 3: by the way, so just FYI got the I got
- 39:19Speaker 3: an email the other day from from Fox. It said,
- 39:21Speaker 3: be ready to go to Canada. I hope you have
- 39:23Speaker 3: a passport.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Now.
- 39:24Speaker 3: Oh yeah, oh yeah, here we go Toronto. Here I come.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Jay's fans get ready yep? Fore aj PERSI?
- 39:32Speaker 3: Oh I hope So I love Toronto? Yeah, and you
- 39:34Speaker 3: like their task? Yeah?
- 39:37Speaker 1: Okay, KP. This is your first arena club experience. We're
- 39:39Speaker 1: gonna open a slab pack together. So first off, we're
- 39:42Speaker 1: gonna buy one of those twenty five dollars slab packs
- 39:44Speaker 1: and we get to see what is in the pack.
- 39:47Speaker 1: There it is the Grail, which is the best card
- 39:49Speaker 1: in the pack and worth the most. There are some
- 39:52Speaker 1: other cards that we're chasing, and you can see the
- 39:54Speaker 1: entire lineup so that you know what you're in the
- 39:56Speaker 1: running for. There's the Yamamoto signed card. Now let's open
- 40:01Speaker 1: up our pack and see how we do. We have
- 40:04Speaker 1: ourselves a really cool graphic and then a show Heyo
- 40:10Speaker 1: Tawani fifty to fifty card from last year. What do
- 40:14Speaker 1: you want to do? Should we sell it right back
- 40:16Speaker 1: to them for sixteen or should we keep it?
- 40:19Speaker 3: You should give it to me, I'll keep.
- 40:21Speaker 1: Good answer, fine, I will give it to you. Since
- 40:24Speaker 1: the Blue Jays didn't getto Tani, you can get this
- 40:26Speaker 1: fifty to fifty card instead. Use the code foul foul
- 40:29Speaker 1: to get yourself twenty percent off your first slab pack
- 40:32Speaker 1: or card purchase. Yes, you get to keep that card
- 40:34Speaker 1: if you want it, they send it to you foul
- 40:36Speaker 1: at Arena club dot com. Slash foul still a good
- 40:39Speaker 1: time for me to probably do my victory lap on
- 40:41Speaker 1: last year. I know, I don't like to shit on players,
- 40:44Speaker 1: but you guys were all over me about Erlander. I
- 40:46Speaker 1: was like, he's not making the playoff roster.
- 40:50Speaker 3: He's not making it this year, that's for sure.
- 40:53Speaker 1: Last year you guys were like, ohre you cleasier, you
- 40:55Speaker 1: can go. It was more of an ag that's right.
- 41:00Speaker 3: I don't wear that one. You know why because I
- 41:01Speaker 3: didn't think that he was going to be that bad,
- 41:03Speaker 3: and then at the end of the year he was
- 41:04Speaker 3: that bad. And then this year he hasn't been great either.
- 41:07Speaker 3: So yeah, way to go, Scott, thank you, way to go.
- 41:10Speaker 1: I have room here and we're standing, so I was
- 41:11Speaker 1: doing my lap, real victory lap to cal Raley, who
- 41:15Speaker 1: set the record for a catcher former season.
- 41:18Speaker 3: I mean's Salvey's record didn't last very long, did it?
- 41:21Speaker 2: Uh?
- 41:23Speaker 3: One MVP MVP of the American League right there.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Game on Sunday. Forty nine homers is the most ever
- 41:29Speaker 1: by a catcher.
- 41:31Speaker 3: Big questions. Does he does he get to sixty Does
- 41:34Speaker 3: he break Judges' record of sixty two?
- 41:37Speaker 1: Not sixty two? He's got a shot at sixty thirty games.
- 41:42Speaker 3: It's won every other game that gets the game sixty four.
- 41:45Speaker 1: Yeah, every other game is a stretch.
- 41:47Speaker 3: Okay, I'm just saying he hit too yesterday.
- 41:49Speaker 1: He still needs to get the record for homers as
- 41:51Speaker 1: a catcher, which is held by Hobby Lopez.
- 41:56Speaker 3: What are you talking about?
- 41:57Speaker 1: Forty two?
- 41:58Speaker 3: He's got forty nine?
- 42:00Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no. When you're a catcher, when you're
- 42:02Speaker 1: a dage talking, Oh, talk about that?
- 42:07Speaker 2: My turn for a victory lap victory lap. I said
- 42:09Speaker 2: he was going to break Salvey's record victory lap. Come on, AJ,
- 42:12Speaker 2: you can victory lap with me if you want.
- 42:14Speaker 3: I said, you can win MVP victory lab. Everyone, what's up?
- 42:17Speaker 2: What?
- 42:19Speaker 3: Wait? You want to get on this?
- 42:20Speaker 1: But uh, Wally Joiner conversation coming up next. I actually
- 42:28Speaker 1: want to play game. I don't know if we have
- 42:29Speaker 1: time for it now, but maybe we'll do it a
- 42:30Speaker 1: different break the seven catchers with forty plus homer seasons. Oh,
- 42:34Speaker 1: we have one minute, all right.
- 42:35Speaker 3: Go Hobby Salvey, Johnny bench Piazza. There's four. Uh, jeez, cal.
- 42:43Speaker 1: There's two that are tough. Yeah, Todd Hunley, Yeah, Tyler
- 42:49Speaker 1: want the last one? You got him already, the last one.
- 42:52Speaker 1: You're it's gonna be tough for a nineteen fifty three.
- 42:54Speaker 2: Oh, that's gonna be tough.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Gabby Hartnett, Roy Campanella.
- 42:58Speaker 3: Oh, dang, you gotta stick well there.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Injuries. Okay, we have been following the Zach Wheeler story.
- 43:08Speaker 1: This is one of the best pictures in baseball and
- 43:13Speaker 1: would have been a huge factor for the Phillies in
- 43:15Speaker 1: the postseason. He is going to miss the rest of
- 43:18Speaker 1: the season. Uh, surgery for thorassic outlets syndrome. I don't
- 43:23Speaker 1: know how to say the word before that. It's with
- 43:24Speaker 1: a B. You can look it up.
- 43:26Speaker 3: Uh.
- 43:26Speaker 1: Timeline is six to eight months. The venueless venus venus?
- 43:32Speaker 3: What the E N P? It's the P O U
- 43:35Speaker 3: S A P before thorascic outlets syndrome venus venous?
- 43:44Speaker 1: What's with A.
- 43:50Speaker 3: The first letter? The first letter?
- 43:51Speaker 1: Oh sorry, I got thrown off. Phillies are games up.
- 43:56Speaker 1: They're playing the Mets this week. But but let's be
- 43:58Speaker 1: sere for a second. How how much does this make
- 44:01Speaker 1: the chance of this team? And this is like, this
- 44:03Speaker 1: isn't the last dance, but it could be closed this group.
- 44:07Speaker 3: This matters is because he's one of the best pitchers
- 44:09Speaker 3: in baseball top five. I had a conversation before this
- 44:12Speaker 3: came out with Shane Green. He was pitching the big
- 44:14Speaker 3: leagues for a long time and he had the same thing.
- 44:16Speaker 3: He had numbness in his fingers and they couldn't figure
- 44:19Speaker 3: out what it was. And then he had the same thing.
- 44:22Speaker 3: He had a blood clot but they called it an aneurysm,
- 44:24Speaker 3: so then they went in he had the thoracic whatever,
- 44:26Speaker 3: and then he and you know, he never really fully
- 44:29Speaker 3: got the feeling back, and he's still to this day,
- 44:31Speaker 3: is years later, still kind of gets some numbness in
- 44:34Speaker 3: his fingers. And he was and I was like, well,
- 44:36Speaker 3: I don't think that's what uh. I don't think that's
- 44:39Speaker 3: what uh Wheeler has. But then it came out that
- 44:42Speaker 3: he had it. So it's gonna be interesting to see
- 44:43Speaker 3: him come back from this because shoulders. We've talked about
- 44:46Speaker 3: shoulders and thrastic goat letter suck.
- 44:50Speaker 2: And Wheeler's not young one, for sure, he's not young.
- 44:54Speaker 2: He's finishing out his contract, his new contract that he
- 44:57Speaker 2: just signed with them. U. But look like when you
- 45:01Speaker 2: talk about blood blood clot, missing a few months, missing
- 45:04Speaker 2: six to eight months of pitching is kind of the
- 45:08Speaker 2: best case scenario because you talk about other health issues
- 45:10Speaker 2: that you could get from a blood clot. It's good
- 45:13Speaker 2: they figured it out. As a Phillies fan, they can't ever,
- 45:19Speaker 2: they can't think Zach Wheeler is going to come back
- 45:22Speaker 2: and be the Zach Wheeler that he is. Anything that
- 45:24Speaker 2: he gives them will be extra. But for the postseason, yes,
- 45:31Speaker 2: it is a big thing. I don't care who you say. Well,
- 45:33Speaker 2: Christopher Sanchez, he could be cy Young, you know, number
- 45:37Speaker 2: two in the Cy Young Race this year. Absolutely wouldn't
- 45:39Speaker 2: it be great to have the number two and number
- 45:41Speaker 2: three pitchers in the Cy Young Race in your starting rotation.
- 45:46Speaker 2: You're gonna guys are gonna have to step up. Not
- 45:49Speaker 2: sure who it's gonna be. Could be Nola Ranger, Suarez
- 45:52Speaker 2: is doing awesome. But you can't go in there and
- 45:54Speaker 2: say it'd be interesting. Do they start three two three
- 45:58Speaker 2: lefty starters in the first three games of the playoffs.
- 46:03Speaker 1: Who's your four if you need four, right, No, that's
- 46:05Speaker 1: the seven.
- 46:06Speaker 3: It's Nola. You throw him in maybe somewhere in the
- 46:09Speaker 3: middle too or something, just to mix up the lefties.
- 46:11Speaker 3: But you need a couple sea Yeas. Game three is
- 46:14Speaker 3: always the most important for me, especially in a five
- 46:16Speaker 3: game series, because you're either going for a clinch, going
- 46:18Speaker 3: to saviory season, or going to go up to one.
- 46:21Speaker 3: So three, Game three to me is the most important game.
- 46:23Speaker 3: So you want to win game one obviously, but game
- 46:25Speaker 3: three to me is who do you pitch in game three?
- 46:27Speaker 3: If that has to be? If you go Sanchez one,
- 46:30Speaker 3: then you you don't want to go four three left.
- 46:32Speaker 1: To Sanchez Suarez Nola.
- 46:34Speaker 3: No, I would go Sanchez Nola Suarez, Oh you do
- 46:38Speaker 3: it righty, Yeah, just to throw a righty in the
- 46:39Speaker 3: middle because you're you're you're expecting Sanchez to win, and
- 46:42Speaker 3: then you're like, all right, if you win for Nola,
- 46:44Speaker 3: it's a huge bonus. And then your Mexicu Swarz has
- 46:47Speaker 3: been good in the playoffs too, So if you throw
- 46:48Speaker 3: Swarz in game three, you're like, all right, no matter
- 46:51Speaker 3: where we're at, we have a chance to continueither clinch
- 46:53Speaker 3: the series or continue the series.
- 46:54Speaker 1: But you could go back to back leftist to start.
- 46:58Speaker 1: You'd rather go back to back lefties for games three
- 47:00Speaker 1: and four instead of one.
- 47:01Speaker 3: And two Games three and four to me? Or yeah,
- 47:04Speaker 3: you need your boys, you need your best, And I
- 47:07Speaker 3: think it depends. I don't know. We'll have to see
- 47:10Speaker 3: what Dolan pitches. If Nolan pitches well, then he pitches
- 47:12Speaker 3: Game two for me.
- 47:14Speaker 2: Nola definitely has to improve. Great start against the Nats.
- 47:18Speaker 2: He's got to improve. I mean there's there's no doubt
- 47:21Speaker 2: that right now because he's coming off the I l
- 47:25Speaker 2: the hotter pitcher is Tylan Walker. Do they give Tywan
- 47:28Speaker 2: Walker starts in the playoffs? I don't know. If he
- 47:32Speaker 2: continues what he's done in his last eight starts, you
- 47:35Speaker 2: have a hard time saying no, you're not going to
- 47:37Speaker 2: give him any starts or you know, like last year,
- 47:39Speaker 2: wasn't even in the playoff roster.
- 47:41Speaker 3: So if you trust him, you trust him as a
- 47:44Speaker 3: Phillies fan, you trust Tywan Walker. He's been good, But
- 47:47Speaker 3: do you trust him? Do you trust him to start
- 47:48Speaker 3: a game in the playoffs?
- 47:51Speaker 2: I don't. I don't, And you want Nola because because
- 47:55Speaker 2: that's the secure pick. Nolan's a secure pick, but before
- 48:00Speaker 2: his injury, he had like a six to one e
- 48:02Speaker 2: r A. There's a lot of loud contact hurt and
- 48:07Speaker 2: he was hurt, yes, but he has to come back
- 48:11Speaker 2: fully healthy. If he does, the Phillies will be Phillies
- 48:15Speaker 2: will be a force.
- 48:17Speaker 3: What where right now? The Phillies are what? What number?
- 48:20Speaker 3: Team wise in the n meaning if you had to,
- 48:23Speaker 3: if you had to handicap him right now, where would
- 48:25Speaker 3: you put the Phillies one? Two, three, four?
- 48:27Speaker 1: He's asking you for power rankings.
- 48:29Speaker 3: Enough power ranking. He's just your kind of sort of
- 48:31Speaker 3: but they're not mine, so there's someone else.
- 48:33Speaker 1: He doesn't like to call them that, but he's asking
- 48:35Speaker 1: you for power rankings.
- 48:37Speaker 2: I'm gonna say. I'm going to say, because the Dodgers
- 48:41Speaker 2: don't have all those guys back yet, and the Padres
- 48:46Speaker 2: don't hit enough homers, and the Phillies offense has been
- 48:49Speaker 2: clicking in the last two weeks, I'm gonna say the
- 48:52Speaker 2: Phillies are two. I'm gonna say it goes behind the
- 48:55Speaker 2: Brewer Brewers, Brewers, Phillies and then Dodgers Padres. Whatever you
- 49:02Speaker 2: can at me at that one.
- 49:05Speaker 3: Okay, Okay, that's fair.
- 49:06Speaker 1: That's fair, that's fair.
- 49:08Speaker 3: Hey, one other I means nothing like going chalk. It's
- 49:10Speaker 3: cool when you go chalk. But we got it.
- 49:11Speaker 1: Why did you want to do something crazy?
- 49:13Speaker 3: I don't know. I just was asking his opinion. He
- 49:15Speaker 3: can say whatever he wants. But he went chalk. He
- 49:17Speaker 3: went exactly chalk, like, oh, look at me.
- 49:19Speaker 1: He doesn't want to be all over the internet.
- 49:21Speaker 3: No, he doesn't want his Homerism. He doesn't want his
- 49:23Speaker 3: Homerism for the Brewers to take over for his Homerism
- 49:25Speaker 3: with the Phillies because it's a huge fight in his head,
- 49:28Speaker 3: like who am I more of a homer the Brewers
- 49:30Speaker 3: of the Phillies? So I don't know. You know what
- 49:32Speaker 3: else is not crats? You love this? You know what else?
- 49:35Speaker 2: Is?
- 49:35Speaker 3: Another question I get from a lot of people, managers,
- 49:38Speaker 3: GMS at people. When I talked to him, everyone asks,
- 49:41Speaker 3: the are the Brewers for real?
- 49:42Speaker 1: Everyone asks? Everybody asks, there's a reason for that because
- 49:44Speaker 1: there haven't won in the postseason the past half decade.
- 49:47Speaker 3: Everybody a fair question. It is a fair question. But
- 49:49Speaker 3: everybody says they're the Brewis for real? And I'm like,
- 49:51Speaker 3: the Brewers to me are really good because they are
- 49:54Speaker 3: a Murph team. What does that mean? They play like
- 49:58Speaker 3: Murph was at Arizona State. Bunt, they steal bases, they
- 50:02Speaker 3: put press, I mean every They're completely different from every
- 50:05Speaker 3: other team in the major leagues. Right, there's pure speed. Yes,
- 50:08Speaker 3: they have Yelich in contrasting and the other guys can
- 50:11Speaker 3: hit some homers. But they bunt, they run, they go
- 50:14Speaker 3: first a third, they take the extra base. It's constant pressure.
- 50:17Speaker 3: They pitch really well. They play great defense. It's completely
- 50:19Speaker 3: different than almost every other team in the Major League.
- 50:21Speaker 3: So teams when they play them are like, oh wait, wait,
- 50:24Speaker 3: what we gotta field a bunt. Wait, we gotta bunt defense,
- 50:26Speaker 3: we gotta cover first and thirds, we gotta do steals.
- 50:29Speaker 3: It's just not what the teams see. So that's why
- 50:31Speaker 3: that's a huge advantage for them.
- 50:32Speaker 1: It is. It's annoying, but you still might be able
- 50:34Speaker 1: to bash homers and beat them in October. We'll see,
- 50:36Speaker 1: we'll be all right back with slap pans. Will congratulate
- 50:39Speaker 1: the Little League World Series champs. They congratulations to Chinese
- 50:46Speaker 1: Taipei winning the Little League World Series after taking down
- 50:50Speaker 1: to about a seven to nothing on Sunday in Williamsport.
- 50:53Speaker 1: That's six straight champs from the US. It's the first
- 50:58Speaker 1: team since Japan in twenty seventeen to win it outside
- 51:01Speaker 1: of the United States.
- 51:03Speaker 3: By the way, the kid to pitch for Taipei was
- 51:05Speaker 3: throwing cheese with By the way, did you see that?
- 51:08Speaker 3: He was eighty three to eighty five crowds eighty three
- 51:12Speaker 3: to eighty five.
- 51:13Speaker 1: That is why they went. They won the game before
- 51:15Speaker 1: that was what won nothing.
- 51:16Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, they they could pitch.
- 51:19Speaker 1: They played real clean defense. I didn't watch everything. I
- 51:21Speaker 1: caught highlights, mostly in fairness, but clean defense.
- 51:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:25Speaker 1: I was flipping through highlights and like, these kids are
- 51:28Speaker 1: fundamentally sound.
- 51:29Speaker 3: It's the Brewers, except there was a bazillion he was missed.
- 51:34Speaker 1: But when the miz has control.
- 51:37Speaker 2: Okay, that's fair. That's a good analogy. The kid was
- 51:40Speaker 2: throwing cheese. He looked like he was throwing cheese. These
- 51:42Speaker 2: kids missed some school to win this. Hey, Nevada, you're
- 51:47Speaker 2: you're always a US champ. Not the World League World Series,
- 51:50Speaker 2: but the US champ.
- 51:52Speaker 3: It just doesn't count, though, Does that really count? Like you,
- 51:54Speaker 3: I mean, it's cool, but but here's my question. It's
- 51:57Speaker 3: like it's like the ALCS cham and that loses to
- 52:00Speaker 3: the in the World Series like the Yankees last year.
- 52:03Speaker 3: Do you really want the second place? You want the
- 52:05Speaker 3: first place? Ring you do? I mean, nobody remembers. Nobody
- 52:09Speaker 3: remembers that who lost. Everyone remembers who won.
- 52:11Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're there, who got second?
- 52:14Speaker 3: Yeah, of course yeah. But it's it's a cool thing.
- 52:16Speaker 3: But still you want to win. You don't want to
- 52:18Speaker 3: just be like, oh, the US Champs.
- 52:20Speaker 1: There's a lot of things I want to get to you.
- 52:21Speaker 1: So first off, yes we are these twins. Next year,
- 52:25Speaker 1: Field of Dreams game is back.
- 52:27Speaker 3: Okay, we just.
- 52:27Speaker 1: Found that out officially this weekend.
- 52:30Speaker 3: The first one game, the first one was the greatest game,
- 52:32Speaker 3: one of the greatest games I've ever been to.
- 52:34Speaker 1: But it's still it's it's just esthetically it's a really
- 52:36Speaker 1: cool game.
- 52:37Speaker 3: To watch a year. But you just can't do it
- 52:39Speaker 3: every year because like the second year didn't hit like
- 52:41Speaker 3: the first year did.
- 52:42Speaker 1: Okay, so now it's coming back.
- 52:44Speaker 3: It's coming back and went away for a couple of years.
- 52:45Speaker 3: I bet you they don't run out of corn to
- 52:47Speaker 3: eat for the people. If you get hungry and like
- 52:49Speaker 3: they did in Bristol this year, if they run out.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, you're not gonna run.
- 52:53Speaker 3: I tried to eat that corn. It tasted like pooh.
- 52:56Speaker 3: You had to spit it out of it. It wasn't
- 52:58Speaker 3: eating corn. By the way, Apparently there's diferent types of corn.
- 53:00Speaker 3: I didn't know there's different types of corn. There's like
- 53:03Speaker 3: eating corn, and then there's like feed corn and like
- 53:06Speaker 3: corn you don't eat. And I tried to corn you
- 53:08Speaker 3: don't eat. You had the poop, had the poop corn,
- 53:12Speaker 3: not corn in my poo. I had pooh in my corn.
- 53:17Speaker 2: I don't even know what to do with that. But yeah,
- 53:20Speaker 2: yellow corn, white corn, Like you have to know what
- 53:23Speaker 2: you're eating.
- 53:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I just pulled. They were like pulling off the
- 53:26Speaker 3: stock and take a bite.
- 53:30Speaker 1: Still, you do it for the experience.
- 53:32Speaker 3: No, listen, if you get a chance to go to
- 53:33Speaker 3: this game. I got to go the first one. It
- 53:36Speaker 3: was one of the coolest things of all time. I
- 53:38Speaker 3: got to go with my son, which made more and
- 53:40Speaker 3: then I was lucky enough to go with Fox and
- 53:42Speaker 3: they closed the show with me playing catch with my
- 53:44Speaker 3: son on air, so that was awesome. But to be
- 53:46Speaker 3: there with the White Sox Yankees, Tim Anderson hit the
- 53:48Speaker 3: walk off Homer. There's a huge rally from the from
- 53:51Speaker 3: the Yankees to get it to the bottom of the
- 53:53Speaker 3: nine Tim Anderson and he did the whole way after
- 53:55Speaker 3: you hit it. It was one of the It was
- 53:57Speaker 3: one of the greatest experiences. No, it's a bitch to
- 54:01Speaker 3: get there, but it's awesome when you get there. In Minnesota,
- 54:03Speaker 3: it's not that far.
- 54:04Speaker 1: Yeah, they did a great job, but they do a
- 54:06Speaker 1: great job with that one. Yeah, krats ats what do
- 54:07Speaker 1: you got?
- 54:11Speaker 2: Tina's got to step it up this weekend and really
- 54:14Speaker 2: didn't show up too much in the in the Red
- 54:16Speaker 2: Sox series until the ESPN. Maybe they're just not They
- 54:19Speaker 2: just don't like Fox.
- 54:22Speaker 3: They like they weren't on Fox. They were not. Oh
- 54:24Speaker 3: they were Thursday they got smacked. Yeah, that was the
- 54:27Speaker 3: Roman Anthem. That was the Roman Empire show.
- 54:28Speaker 1: Yeah, Thursday Ken writes about him and then he smacks
- 54:30Speaker 1: a Homer.
- 54:31Speaker 3: Everyone's worried he was going to be nervous, Like, oh,
- 54:34Speaker 3: so nervous.
- 54:35Speaker 1: He's perfect. A couple other shout outs. Junior Camonaro has
- 54:39Speaker 1: thirty seven home runs. I know you don't talking about
- 54:41Speaker 1: the rest stud Trevor Rodgers two runs or less than
- 54:45Speaker 1: eleven straight starts.
- 54:46Speaker 3: He doesn't really look like Junior, Oh, oh see your bat.
- 54:50Speaker 1: Sorry, Junior, we brought you on the road with us.
- 54:54Speaker 2: We almost looked more like Victor Roblaze tossed his back.
- 54:57Speaker 3: Maybe Ronda Randa Randa.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Jonathan Ronde Is, yeah, took a hit, uh two more.
- 55:03Speaker 1: And then injuries that we didn't get to one. Frankie
- 55:06Speaker 1: Montas actually went on the I L. I. I thought
- 55:08Speaker 1: maybe Phantom a L. But it sounds like you make
- 55:11Speaker 1: a L elbow surgery, so that's bad. And then Marcus Simmy,
- 55:14Speaker 1: who's never I think it's a second time that he's
- 55:16Speaker 1: been on the injured list, second time in his career.
- 55:19Speaker 1: He's thirty four years old. That's pretty amazing actually, but
- 55:22Speaker 1: it sucks that he's now going to miss I think
- 55:24Speaker 1: the rest of the regular season, possible return to playoffs.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Rangers aren't making the playoffs, No, they're I was texting
- 55:30Speaker 1: with a friend who loves a show and is a
- 55:32Speaker 1: Rangers fan, and I was like, I don't know, Bud,
- 55:35Speaker 1: I don't see it. I know they're making they're making
- 55:38Speaker 1: enough noise to stay in the picture, but I don't see.
- 55:41Speaker 3: By the way, two things so one happy birthday to
- 55:43Speaker 3: our guy Max Mounsey. It's Max Monsey Birthday to happy birthday,
- 55:46Speaker 3: and also to Pablo And if you don't know Pablo
- 55:48Speaker 3: Z is Google two thousand and five white socks, you'll
- 55:50Speaker 3: know Pablo Z.
- 55:51Speaker 1: Boom. There you go. Good show. We're gonna do this
- 55:53Speaker 1: all week. Obviously we do ft but guest list could
- 55:57Speaker 1: have a little Greg maddox I saw here, John Smoltz.
- 56:02Speaker 3: Kevin Malar. I mean there's a lot of listen forget baseball.
- 56:05Speaker 3: We're going off base. Well, we're getting a bunch of guys.
- 56:08Speaker 1: Yes, yes, Vince Carter, Jommy Romo. We have a lot
- 56:13Speaker 1: to do this week, so stick with us. Thanks, ept fam.
- 56:15Speaker 1: Enjoy Dodgers territory if you're heading over that way. Bet
- 56:18Speaker 1: MGM is giving you a chance to win a prize
- 56:20Speaker 1: every day during baseball season. You know the bed MGM
- 56:22Speaker 1: Swing for defence's game. Swing daily for a shot to
- 56:24Speaker 1: win bonuses.
- 56:26Speaker 3: Montgomery right now for.
- 56:28Speaker 1: A homer, Yeah, yeah, for your home run, prop go
- 56:31Speaker 1: for it. Got a good number. Two gambling problem more
- 56:35Speaker 1: concern called one hundred gambler
