- 2:05Speaker 1: your flash drive and KFAM ninety four point five. Now
- 2:08Speaker 1: here is a chance for you to win with clicks.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Every single week. Clicks gives you a new idea for
- 2:14Speaker 1: you to get involved with, and I'm particularly fond of
- 2:16Speaker 1: this one, maybe because it takes a little bit of
- 2:19Speaker 1: performance from your side. Now what I mean by that
- 2:21Speaker 1: is that to win a two and a half thousand
- 2:23Speaker 1: rand Clicks club card cash back. I need for you
- 2:28Speaker 1: to give me a pick me up song and sing
- 2:30Speaker 1: it your favorite one. Just I don't want you to
- 2:34Speaker 1: be focused on Oh, that was a stunning voice. I
- 2:36Speaker 1: don't care about the voice and the quality of the
- 2:39Speaker 1: Who cares about that anyway? If someone's singing there pick
- 2:41Speaker 1: me up song, it's kind of like walking into a
- 2:44Speaker 1: Clicks you just you suddenly picked up by all of
- 2:46Speaker 1: the deals around you and the fact that you could
- 2:48Speaker 1: get three for two. That's what makes me feel good
- 2:50Speaker 1: when I walk into a Clicks soda songs. You know,
- 2:53Speaker 1: when I sing Wonderwall by Oasis, that's like one of
- 2:56Speaker 1: my pick me up songs. I love that, you know,
- 2:58Speaker 1: Shower Echo, maybe in the car on the way to work,
- 3:01Speaker 1: It's one of my pick me up songs. I love it,
- 3:02Speaker 1: and I know that you have a few of those
- 3:04Speaker 1: in the tank, and I want to hear that. I'm
- 3:07Speaker 1: not saying this is clicks idols. This is more like
- 3:09Speaker 1: just you getting the pick me up that you deserve,
- 3:12Speaker 1: sing it by yourself, and maybe getting a cash back
- 3:15Speaker 1: pick me up from me after I hear you. So
- 3:18Speaker 1: don't focus on your voice, be bold, be brave, send
- 3:20Speaker 1: your name, ID number, the keyword clicks, and a voice
- 3:22Speaker 1: note of that pick me up song that you are
- 3:24Speaker 1: singing to zero two nine four five zero nine four
- 3:29Speaker 1: zero t's and sees to apply. It's time to get

- 3:46Speaker 1: some new music coming out, not just the track that
- 3:48Speaker 1: is on the off campus soundtrack. There's something fresh coming
- 3:51Speaker 1: very very soon. But watch this space. This is your
- 3:54Speaker 1: show flash Drive KFM ninety four point five and this
- 3:57Speaker 1: week for clicks. I want there to be a bit
- 3:59Speaker 1: more foremanths involved with it, and I don't want you
- 4:01Speaker 1: to be too shy on the whole singing thing. I'm
- 4:05Speaker 1: not looking for the most accurate on key type of vocals.
- 4:08Speaker 1: It just has to be a pick me up song.

- 5:19Speaker 1: on key with early b? There?
- 5:21Speaker 7: I I am on key?

- 5:31Speaker 1: also get biscuits on special clicks? By the way, if

- 5:36Speaker 1: clicks and look for from you, you better and while
- 5:39Speaker 1: you're at it, here here's your cash back two and
- 5:41Speaker 1: a half thousands, all yours well done. Oh thank you Liquor.
- 5:49Speaker 1: You enjoy your day. Thanks for the pick me up.
- 5:52Speaker 1: In fact, your voice doot alone actually provided enough pick
- 5:55Speaker 1: me up for everybody. But let's sing again tomorrow. You
- 5:58Speaker 1: can sing your way to a cash back from clicks.
- 6:00Speaker 1: It's got to be a pick me up song. That's
- 6:02Speaker 1: the most important part of this entire thing. And when
- 6:05Speaker 1: I say that, I'm talking about songs like this.
- 6:10Speaker 5: Sir spirts.
- 6:18Speaker 1: It is clean bannitt and shut up all. It's called
- 6:20Speaker 1: rock a Bye. It is on your show flash Drive
- 6:22Speaker 1: KFM ninety four point five. Do forgive me. I'm on
- 6:25Speaker 1: the esterday of This is Cassidy's birthday week. She's turning
- 6:29Speaker 1: thirty years old and Thursday, so I just wanted to
- 6:31Speaker 1: make sure that she she has a week off. So
- 6:34Speaker 1: you're gonna get some traffic details from my side if
- 6:36Speaker 1: you don't mind.
- 6:37Speaker 9: Come on home.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Ben Rodriguez is called Home Sick on your show The
- 6:40Speaker 1: flash Drive KFEM ninety four point five. Now, while you
- 6:43Speaker 1: were working I was working for you. I found some
- 6:45Speaker 1: very interesting things that I think that you need to
- 6:47Speaker 1: add to your repertoire. The first one you may have
- 6:49Speaker 1: heard already, and the coincidence is I will be inviting
- 6:52Speaker 1: this gentleman into your studio a little later. But a
- 6:55Speaker 1: burger from Kiton has been ranked the second best burg
- 6:58Speaker 1: in the world, putting them out the city firmly on
- 7:00Speaker 1: the map. As usual. Now the honor went to Zuni
- 7:03Speaker 1: Wagu Burgers, whose Wag You smash Burgers have built a
- 7:07Speaker 1: cult following thanks to their farm to table approach. What
- 7:10Speaker 1: incredible Wago burger. And you know what the great thing
- 7:12Speaker 1: about Zuni Wag You is that it's also part owned
- 7:15Speaker 1: by a brother, Sevin Ghesi. So while done, and I
- 7:18Speaker 1: think it's always great to add a bit of Cape
- 7:20Speaker 1: Town accolades to your mix as well. I'm sure you
- 7:23Speaker 1: heard Bafana Bafana, the debarcle, it's been all over. The
- 7:26Speaker 1: departure to the twenty twenty six feof Are World Cup
- 7:28Speaker 1: was delayed after a Visa administration blunder left several members
- 7:32Speaker 1: of the squad and technical team unable to travel as planned.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Software has now apologized to the nation, saying the issue
- 7:38Speaker 1: has largely been resolved. And that the team's charter flight
- 7:41Speaker 1: to Mexiko is scheduled to leave on Monday, very orcs,
- 7:45Speaker 1: but it's there. We'll still support no matter what administrative difficulty.
- 7:49Speaker 1: We got you, Baffana, Bafana, all right now. Some people
- 7:53Speaker 1: feel very guilty for relaxing. Okay, I'm sure you've felt
- 7:56Speaker 1: this too, especially the millennials and Gen Z adults. Rest
- 8:00Speaker 1: doesn't always feel relaxing anymore. Instead, it to can trigger
- 8:04Speaker 1: something psychologists are called productivity guilt, the feeling that they
- 8:08Speaker 1: should be doing something more useful. Experts say years of
- 8:11Speaker 1: hustle culture, self improvement, content, and social media have helped
- 8:15Speaker 1: create the idea that your worth is tied to how
- 8:17Speaker 1: productive you are. Great thing is And I'm going to
- 8:20Speaker 1: do a little plug for my podcast here. I have
- 8:22Speaker 1: an episode coming your way very soon which features sleep,
- 8:27Speaker 1: and I chatted to one of South Africa's foremost sleep
- 8:30Speaker 1: professors to chat about this and productivity guilt and that
- 8:33Speaker 1: feeling you get there. Trust me, you're going to need
- 8:36Speaker 1: to hear that podcast because sleeping has had such a
- 8:39Speaker 1: bad rap, especially because of our socio economics in South Africa,
- 8:43Speaker 1: and it's about time we settle that it's about time
- 8:47Speaker 1: we find out if naps are indeed effective, and Professor
- 8:50Speaker 1: Dale Ray will be sharing all of that in an
- 8:52Speaker 1: episode soon of forty before forty out. Now, can I
- 8:57Speaker 1: tell you last thing is the cheekment of Meta at
- 9:00Speaker 1: the moment? How much have you heard that? Meta has
- 9:02Speaker 1: begun rolling out paid subscription plans for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp,
- 9:07Speaker 1: marking one of the company's biggest moves beyond advertising. The
- 9:09Speaker 1: new premium tiers are expected to offer extra features, customization options,
- 9:14Speaker 1: and enhanced tools. Reports suggest that Instagram Plus and Facebook
- 9:19Speaker 1: Plus could cost around seventy two RANI months each, well,
- 9:22Speaker 1: WhatsApp Plus make us fifty four ANI months. Metas also
- 9:25Speaker 1: reportedly developing premium AI services to get to a broader
- 9:29Speaker 1: Meta one feel hibo, I just think that's rude, honestly,
- 9:34Speaker 1: now subscriptions in that talking about being rude, I want
- 9:37Speaker 1: to give you a nice little list. I always like
- 9:39Speaker 1: doing this. You may be rude without even knowing it.
- 9:42Speaker 1: In fact, everyday things people do that come across as rude.
- 9:45Speaker 1: There's a top ten list. I'm going to run through
- 9:47Speaker 1: them with you at ten, asking for things that aren't
- 9:51Speaker 1: on the table at a dinner party. Don't you have
- 9:53Speaker 1: to Marty source? Man? I didn't put to Marteses on
- 9:56Speaker 1: there because it's already sourced already. That's why are you sure?
- 10:00Speaker 1: Look here, we're having sushi, Daniel, come on. See leaving
- 10:05Speaker 1: leftovers behind at someone else's house, I mean I grew
- 10:07Speaker 1: up this way. Trust me. Whenever I went to go
- 10:09Speaker 1: visit like a girlfriend's sort of parents and I was
- 10:13Speaker 1: offered a a lovely meal, I'll eat seconds because I
- 10:16Speaker 1: think that eating food is connected to you not being
- 10:19Speaker 1: anxious about anything that you're hiding. So I always felt
- 10:22Speaker 1: like eating food would be the best, most honest thing
- 10:24Speaker 1: you could do to a girlfriend's parents, especially the mom
- 10:27Speaker 1: Are you hungry boy? Yes? You're still hungry boy? Yes?
- 10:31Speaker 1: Do you want? Yes? What about Yes? That's all you
- 10:34Speaker 1: do and you eat. You may be fool, but you
- 10:36Speaker 1: need to eat. That's how you affirm your position as
- 10:39Speaker 1: I'm not here as a threat, then leaving a mess
- 10:42Speaker 1: for someone else to deal with, big one over there
- 10:44Speaker 1: asking overly personal questions. I know that interrupting people mid
- 10:48Speaker 1: story happens all the time. Using a speakerphone in public
- 10:53Speaker 1: relatable relating to someone's story without having one of your
- 10:56Speaker 1: own big, big no no. That's and especially when people
- 11:01Speaker 1: talk about death and you don't actually have a story
- 11:04Speaker 1: and you can you say things like oh I imagine
- 11:05Speaker 1: and that sort of thing. Sometimes people think that's rude,
- 11:08Speaker 1: even though you are trying to empathize. There has to
- 11:09Speaker 1: be a balance in that point there. Commenting on someone's
- 11:13Speaker 1: body huh she was? Can I tell you that is
- 11:18Speaker 1: probably like the highest on the list for me how
- 11:21Speaker 1: we want to comment on people's body. And the thing is,
- 11:23Speaker 1: even if they had a lovely journey, right, don't say
- 11:27Speaker 1: you're your lost weight day, Like, don't say that, just
- 11:30Speaker 1: say something that's a bit more vague but still complementary.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I think that's a way of softening that, saying like,
- 11:36Speaker 1: oh man, you're looking so good, or just something very
- 11:39Speaker 1: simple without going straight for like yaw. And I find
- 11:43Speaker 1: that so much, especially with my life as well. People
- 11:46Speaker 1: are so easy to tell you you're your lost weight, as
- 11:48Speaker 1: opposed to just going like you're looking liquor you're eating
- 11:51Speaker 1: the gym or that sort of thing, those vague things
- 11:53Speaker 1: that still mean something nice to somebody else. Because perhaps
- 11:58Speaker 1: someone's sickling with their weight. You don't know that, and
- 12:01Speaker 1: you now saying, oh, you lost weight, and maybe it
- 12:03Speaker 1: could be a touch point for them. So I think
- 12:05Speaker 1: their empathy is important. Please stop commenting on people's body
- 12:08Speaker 1: shape and weight. And it doesn't matter what shape they are.
- 12:12Speaker 1: They can perform whatever duties they need to do in
- 12:14Speaker 1: society without being a specific weight because their knowledge has
- 12:17Speaker 1: nothing to do with the connection to their bodies. Just saying,
- 12:20Speaker 1: so you should just leave that whole weight thing out
- 12:23Speaker 1: of it completely and just say you look like a man.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Thank you, love you too, Thanks Daniel. Now getting on
- 12:29Speaker 1: before other people get off, especially elevators, this nus and
- 12:33Speaker 1: worklequer and then a loud phone conversation in public. How
- 12:37Speaker 1: often does that happen? Especially at a restaurant You're sitting
- 12:40Speaker 1: back to back with someone that like you're choice, look,
- 12:42Speaker 1: you're basically we left awe embarrassed there because we didn't
- 12:47Speaker 1: have a truck to take them or what. And then
- 12:48Speaker 1: you must do eating your ribs please man. Anyway, So
- 12:52Speaker 1: I give you that list little awareness for you from
- 12:54Speaker 1: the flash drive to you on KOFM ninety four point five.
- 13:02Speaker 1: It is maroon five. It's called she Will Be Loved, Deftiny,
- 13:05Speaker 1: she will be It's on your flash Drive KFM ninety
- 13:08Speaker 1: four point five. Welcome, Welcome here till seven o'clock to
- 13:10Speaker 1: make sure you are thoroughly entertained. And I must just
- 13:13Speaker 1: tell you in the next couple of minutes, I would
- 13:15Speaker 1: love to share how the flash Word has been such
- 13:19Speaker 1: a cool game to play. People have been really wanting
- 13:22Speaker 1: to play it, and I know, but there's been an
- 13:24Speaker 1: entire I'm going to say, an entire generation who feels
- 13:28Speaker 1: very left out, and I didn't want that to happen anymore.
- 13:32Speaker 1: I want it to be very intentional. It's the first
- 13:34Speaker 1: of June, Pinch punch, first of the month, it's use month,
- 13:38Speaker 1: and I wanted to make sure that your intelligent, genius
- 13:41Speaker 1: kids get a chance to play the flash Word. More
- 13:45Speaker 1: details in the next few before you get there. Dreams
- 13:49Speaker 1: approved by kids funny because the thing is, it has
- 13:53Speaker 1: not been approved by kids to only let the flash
- 13:57Speaker 1: Word be for adults. No, no, no, And I agree.
- 14:01Speaker 1: And I've been wanting to get this off the ground
- 14:03Speaker 1: for the longest time. And my friends at PEP said, wasty,
- 14:06Speaker 1: let's do it, brother, and we did it. So this
- 14:10Speaker 1: Youth Month, the Western Capes young minds will come together
- 14:13Speaker 1: for a game that the Western Cape loves, in fact,
- 14:16Speaker 1: the entire world. According to people streaming in the flash
- 14:19Speaker 1: Word Junior, It's a special edition is happening in association
- 14:24Speaker 1: with PEP, the number one school shop starting next week
- 14:27Speaker 1: k F ninety four point five and me, Carl Wastey
- 14:30Speaker 1: and your flash drive. I'm calling on primary school and
- 14:34Speaker 1: high school learners to enter the flash Word Junior, and
- 14:37Speaker 1: that is for a chance to win some epic prizes.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Your future champs will go head their head in this
- 14:44Speaker 1: word game that has been become such a must play
- 14:47Speaker 1: for so many and I would like to offer your
- 14:51Speaker 1: kids right a two thousand rand PEP voucher and even
- 14:55Speaker 1: the runners up will walk away with a one thousand
- 14:58Speaker 1: rand PEP vouchers, so nobody loses. I just wanted to
- 15:02Speaker 1: see something. I wanted to see how incredible your kids are,
- 15:05Speaker 1: and I guarantee they will not disappoint. Now I've split
- 15:07Speaker 1: them into two to be fair, primary school learners will
- 15:10Speaker 1: go up against primary school learners, High school learners against
- 15:13Speaker 1: high school learners. If you want to enter, I want
- 15:16Speaker 1: you to go to primediaplus dot com and share some
- 15:19Speaker 1: details you the parent, I'm gonna need you to sanction
- 15:22Speaker 1: them to play this game because I know they are
- 15:24Speaker 1: super when they play with you just after five o'clock daily.
- 15:28Speaker 1: But now it's their shot at being Flashword Champions. So
- 15:31Speaker 1: give it to them. And that is with PEP the
- 15:33Speaker 1: number one school shop, Teas and ces apply two thousand
- 15:36Speaker 1: and for the winner one thousand and for the runner up.
- 15:38Speaker 1: New challenges every day primary school versus primary school, high
- 15:42Speaker 1: school versus high school. I believe in them and it's
- 15:44Speaker 1: about time we bring the flash Word to the youth.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Flashwood Junior coming next week Primemedia plus dot com Go
- 15:51Speaker 1: and Enter Now plus our friends Sevin GESSI will be
- 15:56Speaker 1: in to chat to you about a national campaign of
- 16:00Speaker 1: such great importance. Serve aims to end period poverty in
- 16:05Speaker 1: South Africa. And when I heard about this campaign, to
- 16:07Speaker 1: invite him in because what he's done is something so powerful.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Over newspaper outlets across South Africa. There are bloodstains in
- 16:16Speaker 1: newspapers and it is a message that is very very
- 16:20Speaker 1: clear around ensuring that there's a spotlight on period poverty
- 16:24Speaker 1: in South Africa, something that has been it's been whispered,
- 16:28Speaker 1: it's been you know, sort of said in corners and
- 16:31Speaker 1: spaces like that, but we have to shout it out
- 16:34Speaker 1: in order for government and other key stakeholders to take
- 16:36Speaker 1: this seriously and ensure that our ladies stay in school,
- 16:40Speaker 1: that our men are educated to support because serves very
- 16:45Speaker 1: clear when he chats about it. He says that you know,
- 16:47Speaker 1: period poverty is not just a lady's problem, it's a
- 16:50Speaker 1: human problem. And we're going to have a proper conversation
- 16:53Speaker 1: about that for you. That will be in the next
- 16:54Speaker 1: ten minutes or so, but you can check it in
- 16:56Speaker 1: the newspapers now. It's a strong campaign. The August is
- 16:59Speaker 1: pot at the Star up in Joeberg as well amongst others,
- 17:03Speaker 1: and it's just to make sure that you understand what
- 17:05Speaker 1: the message is is that we are not going to
- 17:08Speaker 1: stop until period products are available for free for all
- 17:13Speaker 1: of our ladies in South Africa. Do stick around to
- 17:16Speaker 1: be part of the cause. Let me love you, Smrio,
- 17:23Speaker 1: and let me tell you about a very very important
- 17:25Speaker 1: cause and a campaign that is delivering the message today
- 17:30Speaker 1: in the most real and impactful way. This is your
- 17:33Speaker 1: flash drive KFM y four point five. Her name is
- 17:35Speaker 1: Carl Wastey and period poverty is a real thing in
- 17:39Speaker 1: South Africa. It's something that needs to be looked at
- 17:42Speaker 1: in the most serious way possible. I think it's so
- 17:45Speaker 1: appalling that our ladies who do not choose to menstrate
- 17:50Speaker 1: have to pay for these products. It makes zero sense.
- 17:53Speaker 1: It should be something that is free to all ladies.
- 17:58Speaker 1: It's keeping a lot of our woman out of school
- 18:01Speaker 1: and the education thereof needs to come with that, as
- 18:05Speaker 1: well as the interest and the care. And this is
- 18:08Speaker 1: why a campaign today called the period paper is out now.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Many publications, newspapers are doing something really powerful and putting
- 18:17Speaker 1: a bloodstain in the newspaper because you may not know this,
- 18:21Speaker 1: but a lot of the ladies in South Africa are
- 18:23Speaker 1: using newspaper as period products. So I want you to
- 18:27Speaker 1: take a listen to my friend over here, Sivi and Ghersy.
- 18:31Speaker 1: He's going to give you some details on how this
- 18:34Speaker 1: is going to impact things. What you'd like out of
- 18:37Speaker 1: this amazing campaign and the message that I think is
- 18:41Speaker 1: so powerful, but hopefully it's going to cause a spark.
- 18:44Speaker 1: And this is for any stakeholder, This is for the government,
- 18:48Speaker 1: this is for anybody on the street. It doesn't matter
- 18:50Speaker 1: who you are, because this is everyone's problem. I'm gonna
- 18:54Speaker 1: let you Sivin Ghersy, tell you all about it.
- 18:56Speaker 5: It's me and my name is Sid Gassy and I
- 18:57Speaker 5: am a man if you can not here and people
- 19:00Speaker 5: ask me why I am involved in fighting period poverty,
- 19:03Speaker 5: and I think period poverty isn't a woman's issue. It's
- 19:05Speaker 5: a humanity issue, yes, And for us, a young woman
- 19:08Speaker 5: are missing four to five schools days a month, times
- 19:12Speaker 5: up by twelve, times up by five. It's an injustice.
- 19:15Speaker 5: Young ladies are missing so much time from school. And
- 19:18Speaker 5: for me, my mission is to end period poverty. That
- 19:20Speaker 5: will be my legacy. People see me on television and
- 19:23Speaker 5: I think for me that's a side thing and the
- 19:25Speaker 5: side hustle. For me, I'll be known as the man
- 19:27Speaker 5: who helped end period poverty. Give me the next five
- 19:30Speaker 5: years max out end period poverty. So we're down with
- 19:32Speaker 5: Joe Public, which is incredible. People who actually have on
- 19:36Speaker 5: South Africa papers throughout the country today we're having a
- 19:39Speaker 5: huge blood stain on papers on different pages throughout the country,
- 19:45Speaker 5: which shows you many young women are actually using paper
- 19:49Speaker 5: as period products, which is an absolutely disgusting thing that
- 19:53Speaker 5: has to happen. So grab the Star the August all
- 19:55Speaker 5: different papers and you can see a blood stain in
- 19:58Speaker 5: the middle of your paper.
- 20:00Speaker 1: When you came to this joke public and you came
- 20:02Speaker 1: with this concept, I'm sure they pitched this to you
- 20:04Speaker 1: and they said, hey, we need to make sure that
- 20:06Speaker 1: period poverty makes headlines and not anything else. Was that
- 20:09Speaker 1: the concept that you wanted behind that.
- 20:11Speaker 5: The tagline is a newspaper can absorb the blood but
- 20:14Speaker 5: not the shame. We built a factory my business partner,
- 20:17Speaker 5: Marris and I and we now actually I just came
- 20:19Speaker 5: from the factory. I wanted to cry. We are producing
- 20:22Speaker 5: sundry pads. We do between four fifty and six hundred
- 20:24Speaker 5: and fifty hundred pads per minute. Yeah, and we're producing
- 20:28Speaker 5: about seven hundred and twelve hundred pads every twelve hour shift.
- 20:32Speaker 1: It's incredible. I actually chatted to your partner about that
- 20:35Speaker 1: and as well as some of the stakeholders, and they
- 20:38Speaker 1: were telling me about how you also employing people to
- 20:40Speaker 1: do this, which is also valuable in South Africa, another
- 20:43Speaker 1: bit of poverty to focus on. So there's a couple
- 20:46Speaker 1: of birds with one stone being knocked off there and
- 20:49Speaker 1: I think it's such a beautiful thing and I hope
- 20:51Speaker 1: that more people support you I get.
- 20:53Speaker 5: A lot of credit for the kind of stuff that
- 20:55Speaker 5: I do, but I literally am just a drop in
- 20:58Speaker 5: the ocean to the and the men who are packing
- 21:01Speaker 5: sentarypads right now work until four am in the morning.
- 21:05Speaker 5: You guys are absolutely amazing.
- 21:06Speaker 1: In this campaign. When we get this newspaper, what do
- 21:09Speaker 1: you what do you want us to do to help
- 21:11Speaker 1: along the cause.
- 21:12Speaker 5: I'm not asking you to buy sentry pads from my factory.
- 21:15Speaker 5: That's what I'm asking for, yees, And I'm not pushing
- 21:17Speaker 5: pads onto women for me. If you want to get
- 21:20Speaker 5: involved as much as possible, go buy the paper and
- 21:22Speaker 5: the back page you'll see a QR code. If you
- 21:24Speaker 5: give me sixty rand a year car Yes, we could
- 21:27Speaker 5: interpair poverty.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Pick up the newspaper. More important, go to Menstruation dot Foundation.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Get some more information, help hard where you can. I
- 21:34Speaker 1: believe that if you have access, if you have something
- 21:37Speaker 1: that is a bit beyond what you need, it's your
- 21:39Speaker 1: responsibility to share. Hello, jah man, this is so powerful
- 21:43Speaker 1: and well done to you your team Joe Public, and
- 21:45Speaker 1: let's make sure that this message gets out there and
- 21:47Speaker 1: we end this together because you have all of our
- 21:49Speaker 1: hands holding yours to make sure that this happens. Furthermore,
- 21:53Speaker 1: this is a complete sidebar, but congratulations for your Zuni
- 21:56Speaker 1: wag you. I'm sorry, I just I know you. I
- 21:59Speaker 1: know you don't want this forum to be about that,
- 22:01Speaker 1: but on the side, it just I think these blessings
- 22:04Speaker 1: come into your life because you are so generous with
- 22:06Speaker 1: your platforms and that's why things and accolades like that
- 22:09Speaker 1: meets you there. So I just want to say that.
- 22:10Speaker 5: No, thanks so much, man. It's been absolutely incredible and
- 22:13Speaker 5: definitely blessed and incredibly rich when it comes to friends
- 22:17Speaker 5: and connections and the family.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Yeah, thank you so much. Sevin Gasey for what that
- 22:20Speaker 1: you do.
- 22:20Speaker 5: Follow me Instagram, five Minutestagram if you want to do
- 22:22Speaker 5: anything Administration Foundation, Marius, You're incredible, car Wasty, You're the
- 22:26Speaker 5: best in the business. I've known you for thirty odd
- 22:28Speaker 5: years and no one's better than you. My friend. Oh
- 22:31Speaker 5: where the awards keep on coming? And I'm obsessed with
- 22:33Speaker 5: your son on Instagram. I love you dog.
- 22:37Speaker 1: He's so cool. He's like, he's so your son is
- 22:41Speaker 1: so cool. Yeah, And can I tell you he looks
- 22:44Speaker 1: up to you a lot, especially with regard to what
- 22:46Speaker 1: you're doing and the money education he has with regard
- 22:49Speaker 1: to sanitary products, period products, et cetera. Because I made
- 22:53Speaker 1: it a responsibility as his father to ensure that he
- 22:56Speaker 1: knows exactly what's up. And he is.
- 22:58Speaker 5: No, he's the coolest, he's the Thank you. I love
- 23:01Speaker 5: him a great job by this say thanks so much
- 23:02Speaker 5: for having me.
- 23:04Speaker 1: It's Lividian, so easy to fall in love, so easy
- 23:07Speaker 1: to fall in love with. Sivin Guessie and the Menstruation
- 23:09Speaker 1: Foundation just chatted to him now. But a massive campaign
- 23:12Speaker 1: in newspapers across South Africa. Please support it. Menstruation Dot
- 23:16Speaker 1: Foundation is the address, but on those newspapers there is
- 23:19Speaker 1: a QR code over there if you want to scan
- 23:22Speaker 1: that and support him. I think it is powerful that
- 23:24Speaker 1: just sixty rand a year can sort a child out
- 23:28Speaker 1: with period products for an entire year for our ladies
- 23:31Speaker 1: who require it. I think that is so so important.
- 23:34Speaker 1: So thank you very much to sir for coming in
- 23:36Speaker 1: and sharing what is an amazing cause in that campaign
- 23:39Speaker 1: called the period paper campaign, a message that we cannot
- 23:42Speaker 1: ignore any longer. Thank you for your support. Need Enson so.
- 23:50Speaker 10: Rolling in pay rolling in that way.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Film it is Rakhano kaldotch it's gone back to the beach,
- 23:58Speaker 1: back to the drawing board. For some guests of the concept,
- 24:01Speaker 1: remember the prize that I have for you, call call
- 24:03Speaker 1: Mountain Lodge. If you've never been there, you are gonna
- 24:05Speaker 1: need it in your life when you go there. Tranquility
- 24:09Speaker 1: piece ALUs and the way they've set it up for us,
- 24:14Speaker 1: because the way we get prizes for the concept. We
- 24:17Speaker 1: have generous people who really love the flash drive, but
- 24:20Speaker 1: more importantly, they love you and they want you to
- 24:22Speaker 1: experience what they have to offer. So what they do
- 24:25Speaker 1: is they'll email Pietrice on flash at KFM. That's flash
- 24:29Speaker 1: at KFM dot co do z and then they'll say,
- 24:32Speaker 1: look here, we want to give somebody this and call
- 24:35Speaker 1: call Mountain Lodge. Apparently they have another prize that they're
- 24:39Speaker 1: giving us, something that I've never given away ever, that
- 24:42Speaker 1: you're gonna need in your life, but that's for another day. Completely.
- 24:45Speaker 1: What I have for you today is too single word clues.
- 24:48Speaker 1: This is how it works, single word clues. So I've
- 24:51Speaker 1: made this example before, but let's just say if the
- 24:53Speaker 1: concept is cat and it's on this piece of paper
- 24:55Speaker 1: in front of Cassidy and I, we'll have to give
- 24:57Speaker 1: you single word clues. So I would go feline, she'd
- 25:01Speaker 1: go meow. It would be simple and easy. Unfortunately, sometimes
- 25:06Speaker 1: the concept is quite interesting and we have to think
- 25:08Speaker 1: a little harder to try and make you win. We
- 25:11Speaker 1: are literally trying to make you win by giving you
- 25:14Speaker 1: these clues. Hello, Rochelle, Hello, welcome to the concept zone
- 25:20Speaker 1: on the flash drive. This is where you guess and
- 25:23Speaker 1: hopefully you win. Have you been to call call Mountain Lodge?
- 25:27Speaker 1: I haven't. Actually, you are missing out on life. Okay,
- 25:33Speaker 1: your life, yes, life. So it's a really really beautiful,
- 25:39Speaker 1: beautiful place. I'm just telling you that now. Okay, So
- 25:43Speaker 1: but before we get there, let's give you these two
- 25:48Speaker 1: simple things, right, simple things. They're words, and hopefully you'll
- 25:52Speaker 1: get a little closer, all right, just a little closer
- 25:55Speaker 1: to that. That's what I'm hoping you.
- 25:58Speaker 7: Can you possibly give me just some clues or just
- 26:03Speaker 7: like an example, because I haven't I've heard the radio
- 26:06Speaker 7: station or okay, but I haven't been listening in.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Oh okay, no, that's fine. So what I'm saying is that, like, so,
- 26:16Speaker 1: the thing is, the rule is that I don't mention
- 26:17Speaker 1: the words that I've mentioned before again, because that's that's
- 26:21Speaker 1: what makes it like a really fun exercise. So every
- 26:23Speaker 1: day you listen out for the spot. But I can
- 26:26Speaker 1: give you the guesses if that helps so that you
- 26:29Speaker 1: don't repeat them that okay, okay. So the guesses were
- 26:33Speaker 1: face side, spanks, bra passion, lighthouse, discount, value, vision support,
- 26:43Speaker 1: elevation moving. All of them were incorrect. I can't give
- 26:48Speaker 1: you the actual words. I can only give you the guesses.
- 26:50Speaker 1: I'm sorry. That's just the way that that's the way
- 26:52Speaker 1: it happens, all right. But I mean, if this's your
- 26:54Speaker 1: first time, I'm going to let let's let's help you
- 26:55Speaker 1: out here. So my first word to you is the
- 26:58Speaker 1: word one hundred. Okay, so after one hundred, I'm gonna
- 27:03Speaker 1: do just based on one hundred? What are we thinking?
- 27:07Speaker 1: Just based on so percentage?
- 27:12Speaker 11: Like that.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Percentage is unfortunately incorrect. However, you have another word, and
- 27:20Speaker 1: my next word is one, as.
- 27:23Speaker 7: In you know O any okay, hmm, I know, but that's.
- 27:31Speaker 1: This I know it is, but this is what makes
- 27:33Speaker 1: it exciting. Right, So you've got a hund you got
- 27:36Speaker 1: a hundred. That's your first word, h U N d
- 27:39Speaker 1: R E d Okay, next word is E one. So
- 27:44Speaker 1: what's your guess dalmation is in correct. I'm sorry, sorry, Schell,
- 27:51Speaker 1: but you know what, I am honored. I am honored
- 27:54Speaker 1: that that you tried, and please continue because the thing is,
- 27:58Speaker 1: I'm hearing that the next couple of prizes that have
- 28:00Speaker 1: been emailed to us are equally as incredible. So please
- 28:03Speaker 1: keep on trying. I want you to win something on
- 28:05Speaker 1: the show. That's why I created the concept game just
- 28:08Speaker 1: for you, Rashell, thanks a lot for trying. There we go,
- 28:11Speaker 1: one hundred one. I will not mention them tomorrow, so
- 28:14Speaker 1: please make a note of that. Try and guess, and
- 28:17Speaker 1: I guess, sorry, that just came to mind, and then
- 28:19Speaker 1: you could be a winner. Okay, simple, easy call. Call
- 28:22Speaker 1: Mountain Lodge awaits you coming out on the first our
- 28:26Speaker 1: own wasty. Let us make a quick call to somebody
- 28:29Speaker 1: special so that they can make a decision as to
- 28:31Speaker 1: which song we play. Plus Pietrice, we get to choose
- 28:34Speaker 1: a song. Interesting. Yeah for Cassidy in app Yes, she
- 28:40Speaker 1: wanted to take a birthday week off. WHLA. I found
- 28:47Speaker 1: this number on the on sip line. Hello, hello Mika,
- 28:51Speaker 1: It's called Wastey from kve in ninety four point five.
- 28:53Speaker 1: How you doing, hi?
- 28:54Speaker 8: Col I'm good to news.
- 28:56Speaker 3: Love it.
- 28:56Speaker 1: I'm great. I'm calling you this time because if you
- 29:00Speaker 1: listen to the show, it means that I needed to
- 29:01Speaker 1: be judge and jury of a song.
- 29:04Speaker 8: I love that.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Do you okay? Good? Okay? Great? So here's the thing.
- 29:09Speaker 1: There's also a hidden rule, a little fine print on
- 29:12Speaker 1: this is that if you are not present after your
- 29:16Speaker 1: song as one to pick a new song, it is
- 29:19Speaker 1: by decree of the flash Drive Delicates Association of South
- 29:22Speaker 1: Africa that we pick a song four said person who
- 29:25Speaker 1: has rendered themselves absent at the time of picking a
- 29:27Speaker 1: new call song. It's it's that's the clause in the contract.
- 29:30Speaker 1: That's great, so we picked a song.
- 29:32Speaker 8: What about that when you guys announced that on Friday
- 29:35Speaker 8: that someone is going on the birthday.
- 29:41Speaker 1: I actually I haven't been too bad. I think I've
- 29:45Speaker 1: been very kind. Yes, I've been very very kind. I
- 29:48Speaker 1: think with Pietrice in retrospect, I wasn't too kind to you.
- 29:51Speaker 1: I wasn't apologized. But it's because it's Cassidy's birthday week man,
- 29:55Speaker 1: that I needed to to kind of get a middle
- 29:57Speaker 1: ground song. Is that? Okay, there's only because it was
- 30:00Speaker 1: a birthday, man.
- 30:01Speaker 2: I just feel like you gave her because she gave
- 30:04Speaker 2: River when you were gone that Friday. She gave you
- 30:07Speaker 2: like a very middle ground sing correction. So I feel
- 30:10Speaker 2: that's why you went maybe, but it's okay, okay, I'll
- 30:14Speaker 2: forgive you.
- 30:15Speaker 1: Thank you. Do you want to share your song with Meka?
- 30:18Speaker 2: So my song, it's it really is a sing a
- 30:20Speaker 2: long song, especially in traffic.
- 30:22Speaker 1: It's Kelly Clarkson.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Since you've been gone, we're.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Singing this Cassidy. I'm kidding, I'm kidding. I can breeze
- 30:33Speaker 1: and she's all right. Uh, Mika, I went to an
- 30:36Speaker 1: old school of Vichy track. It's called I Could be
- 30:39Speaker 1: the One and then Cassidy song that we have selected today.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Are you ready, Mika?
- 30:55Speaker 8: Yes I am.
- 30:57Speaker 1: This is the song I picked for Cassidy.
- 31:02Speaker 12: Will come along well, the Strength.
- 31:06Speaker 1: To care I only picked it because once Cassidy said
- 31:10Speaker 1: that I'm her hero, and I just wanted to honor that. Yeah,
- 31:13Speaker 1: so you've got some good tracks. You've got Kelly Clarkson,
- 31:15Speaker 1: Avici and Mariah Carey. You got to pick one to
- 31:17Speaker 1: play after the news. What is it?
- 31:19Speaker 8: I almost wanted to do. It's like the old school,
- 31:23Speaker 8: but when the hero comes along, I mean, there's nothing
- 31:27Speaker 8: better than that. I just need it today.
- 31:31Speaker 1: You know what what you've done is that you've unlocked
- 31:34Speaker 1: more ideas because I have to pick another song tomorrow
- 31:36Speaker 1: for Cassidy. It's gonna be great, but she gets a win.
- 31:39Speaker 1: That's part of the Telly, right, she gets a win.
- 31:41Speaker 1: But I think I'll.
- 31:42Speaker 8: Choose the song one out of the five days.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Oh no, trust me, she might win all week and
- 31:49Speaker 1: then at the mid year we're gonna give you full
- 31:50Speaker 1: tallies and then the person who is last has to
- 31:53Speaker 1: do something. I forgot to mention that. Yeah, I don't
- 31:56Speaker 1: know what it's going to be, something that's correct exactly.
- 32:00Speaker 1: We might streak at the next DHL Stormers game in
- 32:03Speaker 1: the Aviva Stadium because we've got that. Yeah, what calm down?
- 32:07Speaker 1: I will sorry apologees, but yes, Mariah Carey's Hero is
- 32:11Speaker 1: coming up. Thanks to you, Mika, have a wonderful day,
- 32:13Speaker 1: and thank you very much for listening.
- 32:15Speaker 8: Thank you so much, Drew.
- 32:17Speaker 1: I'm going to buy Mariah Carey Hero is coming your
- 32:21Speaker 1: way soon. This is exciting and it's all part of
- 32:24Speaker 1: your flash Driver the call. At this time, I get
- 32:27Speaker 1: to pick a fresh one for Cassidy. Tomorrow, exciting times ahead.
- 32:30Speaker 1: News is first. It's a boss song Tipsy by Shaboozi
- 32:36Speaker 1: on your show, Your Flash Drive KFM ninety four point five.
- 32:38Speaker 1: Let's take a look at your roads before we hit
- 32:40Speaker 1: the flash word. I worness use traffic is brought to
- 32:42Speaker 1: you by Ausurance SMS out to three zero six zero
- 32:45Speaker 1: five now and you could save in your consurance if
- 32:48Speaker 1: you don't ask them for five hundred rands. Flash World
- 32:54Speaker 1: on GM ninety four point five. Here we go. Now
- 32:59Speaker 1: it is the flash word, and we have a brand
- 33:01Speaker 1: new champion rising on a Monday from Crebet Chante Malca
- 33:06Speaker 1: sallo hi col oh, uh huh.
- 33:14Speaker 3: No, no, Monday.
- 33:16Speaker 1: I refuse, I rebuke the negativity. I refuse, come go hello,
- 33:24Speaker 1: I don't care. I don't care. Monday as an M
- 33:28Speaker 1: O N day M and in all right. Basically it
- 33:35Speaker 1: means must ohmt negativity, m must oh negativity. Okay, Monday, right,
- 33:44Speaker 1: that's it. M is for motivation, oh is for opportunities
- 33:48Speaker 1: and N is for niceness. Okay, don't forget it. Monday.
- 33:52Speaker 1: We are going to read you fine Monday together. Okay,
- 33:56Speaker 1: yes you feel that now? Do you feel that motivation?
- 34:00Speaker 8: Yes?
- 34:00Speaker 1: Thank you now let's meet your opponent. Hello, Andre, how's
- 34:04Speaker 1: it called Lequa? Well, Petrice is in the back there.
- 34:08Speaker 1: That man is manning the phone's working hard. I didn't
- 34:11Speaker 1: understand how he does everything, but he does it for me.
- 34:13Speaker 1: See obviously, I'm on my ace today. Cassidy is having
- 34:16Speaker 1: a great birthday week, which she's entitled to. She's turning
- 34:19Speaker 1: fifty on on Thursdays. That's gonna be cool. But Andre, welcome.
- 34:23Speaker 1: You're up against Chante from Pe today. Apparently you're studio
- 34:26Speaker 1: manager for a digital marketing company. That's exciting.
- 34:30Speaker 12: He is a digital marketing agency called Supersed out in
- 34:34Speaker 12: wilb Oh.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Nice man, that's very cool. So you're the studio manager,
- 34:38Speaker 1: so you do the bookings for the like you know,
- 34:40Speaker 1: the recordings podcast advert Ah got you, homie, I got you?
- 34:46Speaker 1: And I mean podcasting is huge these days. A lot
- 34:49Speaker 1: of a lot of brands are getting involved in that
- 34:50Speaker 1: as well, because it tells better stories, doesn't it.
- 34:53Speaker 12: Yep, Well, we're not exactly big on podcasts more, it's
- 34:56Speaker 12: more digital, like your web developing design. So I'm the gatekeeper.
- 35:02Speaker 12: No work, come you're out of studio or get into
- 35:04Speaker 12: studio without coming through me.
- 35:07Speaker 1: Proud gatekeeper. I like it. Okay, own it, own it,
- 35:10Speaker 1: my brother. But you know what, Chante is the gatekeeper
- 35:13Speaker 1: the flash with so far, so Chante, would you like
- 35:15Speaker 1: to go first or second?
- 35:17Speaker 7: I'll go first?
- 35:17Speaker 1: All right? Today your flash word is monty fresh. It
- 35:23Speaker 1: is mont as in m I N T M O
- 35:26Speaker 1: N T m A n T M E n T
- 35:28Speaker 1: mont All right? You good? I don't lie. No, I
- 35:35Speaker 1: will not start the snow now. I will not. I'm
- 35:37Speaker 1: not starting. I come here, I'm fine. That's how people
- 35:46Speaker 1: sometimes greet me. You other like, I'll be like, hello,
- 35:49Speaker 1: what are you eating? Okay? No? Yes? I can the
- 35:54Speaker 1: other energy be coming back? Yes, she's back, welcome back.
- 35:56Speaker 1: I mussed you right, good luck. You're timing in three two? One?
- 36:03Speaker 1: Shall we hoil, let's go. The Bible is divided by
- 36:06Speaker 1: these two sections. Testament A piece of citrus fruit citrus fruit, yeah,
- 36:16Speaker 1: A stucky A piece okay? Water, wind, and fire are
- 36:21Speaker 1: examples of what a debate m chante. Yes, I'm according
- 36:40Speaker 1: into a meeting after this corn okay, okay, are you
- 36:45Speaker 1: right there? Are you feeling under the weather?
- 36:49Speaker 9: I am?
- 36:50Speaker 1: Why didn't you tell me that the beginning before I
- 36:53Speaker 1: drove you into energy. You're not feeling that. It's fine.
- 36:56Speaker 1: I'm here for you. I'm going to make you feel better,
- 36:58Speaker 1: that's all. But let's go the answers the Bible, those
- 37:01Speaker 1: sections testaments, that's correct. There's a month in there. Piece
- 37:05Speaker 1: of such a struit as a segment, a little stucky
- 37:07Speaker 1: of it. Water, wind, a fire are elements. A debate
- 37:10Speaker 1: is an argument, and my last one. You would never
- 37:13Speaker 1: believe this. I was going to ask you an illness
- 37:15Speaker 1: and you would have said ailment, which is what you
- 37:17Speaker 1: may be feeling now. But don't worry. I don't worry. Okay,
- 37:22Speaker 1: I'm not going to give you a score because it's
- 37:24Speaker 1: just nice to hear from you. Andre your turn, all right,
- 37:29Speaker 1: you're ready, pure, no pressure, it's mint. Your time begins
- 37:32Speaker 1: in three two. Why let's go a flat.
- 37:37Speaker 12: Apartment, a curb or sidewalk pavement.
- 37:41Speaker 1: The taj Mahal and the Colisseum are examples of what
- 37:47Speaker 1: poss a piece of clothing, garment, an area below a
- 37:53Speaker 1: home boss. The taj Mahal and Colosseum are examples of
- 37:59Speaker 1: what no hectic is wrong. But it's nice to think
- 38:08Speaker 1: about the engineering behind them. Then you're going to stand
- 38:11Speaker 1: in front of those monuments and say, y're a I
- 38:14Speaker 1: mean that would be a good now there? Yes, yes.
- 38:17Speaker 1: And then an area below a home or even a
- 38:19Speaker 1: building is a basement. Have you ever heard of that?
- 38:21Speaker 1: It's more of an American thing, to be fair, but yeah,
- 38:25Speaker 1: there are basements out there in some areas, especially in
- 38:27Speaker 1: the northern suburbs. Yeah, all right, give me a second, Shante.
- 38:33Speaker 1: I want you to take some take a take a break,
- 38:36Speaker 1: rest the luggages, okay, because it's going to be sad
- 38:39Speaker 1: to to actually let you go, but I don't want
- 38:42Speaker 1: you to go anywhere too far, so we can say
- 38:44Speaker 1: hi to you again. Is that okay? Okay? Thank you, Chante.
- 38:48Speaker 1: You're a star and you've represented Pe so beautifully. Andre.
- 38:53Speaker 1: It's official. You are the new flash word champion.
- 38:58Speaker 12: Oh yuh, that's actually nerve King. But I'm glad I
- 39:03Speaker 12: brought it back to Cape Town.
- 39:04Speaker 1: Yes, my yes, brother, you went here from GQ back
- 39:09Speaker 1: to the CPT. That's what I'm talking about. Andre. Thank
- 39:11Speaker 1: you very much, and now you can get all the
- 39:13Speaker 1: compliments you need over the pasta well the next twenty
- 39:16Speaker 1: four hours, and then we'll chat to you again tomorrow
- 39:18Speaker 1: the same time. Shot man shot my brother Liquor. Well
- 39:22Speaker 1: done to you, Kieran Thompson eyewitnessed New Sport birthday traffic.

- 39:38Speaker 1: do that. I love that man so much. You know
- 39:40Speaker 1: that he is one of the most incredible humans that
- 39:41Speaker 1: I've ever met, So humble and so talented, just just amazing. So, Lanza,
- 39:46Speaker 1: how many of those bush let G tracks did you
- 39:49Speaker 1: hear in my traffic?
- 39:51Speaker 3: There were seven, carl seven.
- 39:53Speaker 1: You must be a fan if you picked it up.
- 39:55Speaker 1: I snuck those in.

- 41:27Speaker 1: do you have to.
- 41:28Speaker 11: I'm celebrating our birthday?
- 41:33Speaker 1: Are you here in in your house? Here in kit
- 41:37Speaker 1: and I'm in Blowbird? Are you in blood?
- 41:42Speaker 9: So?
- 41:42Speaker 1: Are your so? Your plans at the child tonight with
- 41:45Speaker 1: a couple of friends. Is that that's what's happening?
- 41:47Speaker 11: Yeah, a couple of friends.
- 41:49Speaker 1: No, man, I just want to say, we're very proud
- 41:51Speaker 1: of you for that European tour. All I saw was
- 41:53Speaker 1: sold out, sold out, sold out, and I just want
- 41:55Speaker 1: to say I've been mentioning it on the show, telling
- 41:58Speaker 1: all the expats to come in and you know, meet
- 42:00Speaker 1: you at those venues, and I'm so proud of you, man. Congratulations.
- 42:04Speaker 11: Yeah, thank you so much, Carl. I'm so so blessed, man.
- 42:07Speaker 11: Thank you so much for calling you guys are making
- 42:10Speaker 11: me feel very special.
- 42:11Speaker 1: Yet, and don't forget, I'm actually gonna say happy birthday.
- 42:15Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. Oh yeah, happy birthday. Come on,
- 42:18Speaker 1: hey you twenty one? Oh yeah, yeah, of course, brother.
- 42:26Speaker 1: But you know what, thank you, and I hope the
- 42:28Speaker 1: gift to you is the affirmation from all fans, friends,
- 42:33Speaker 1: family members that you are living your purpose. And the
- 42:36Speaker 1: more you love your purpose, the more we enjoy and
- 42:38Speaker 1: we are allowed to live ours. Thank you for being
- 42:41Speaker 1: such a shining light and inspiration to anybody who lends
- 42:44Speaker 1: an ear to your music, which is always steeped in honesty,
- 42:48Speaker 1: purpose and faith. And we appreciate that. Happy birthday.
- 42:52Speaker 11: Thank you so much, Carl. I'm so bless man, thank
- 42:54Speaker 11: you so so much.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it's all good. Now you go enjoy man, have
- 42:58Speaker 1: a party. Come on yeah wait oh way brah ha Yes,
- 43:03Speaker 1: Happy birthday bush Ledge. Now we have to play a
- 43:05Speaker 1: song for this man. And I couldn't think of a
- 43:08Speaker 1: better song than the Power. That is the orchestral version
- 43:12Speaker 1: of a song called Heavy, a song that tracked at
- 43:14Speaker 1: number one for several weeks in the KFM Top forty.
- 43:17Speaker 1: And this is just something symphonic and beautiful to celebrate
- 43:20Speaker 1: that man's birthday. I chatted to this lovely lady over
- 43:24Speaker 1: the weekend Amy Jones a brand new track called Again,
- 43:27Speaker 1: just a song about picking up the pieces and starting again.
- 43:31Speaker 1: It's fine, it's power. Don't ever think that it's weak.
- 43:34Speaker 1: You can do it. If all the conditions are not favorable,
- 43:37Speaker 1: who the hell cares? You are there and you can
- 43:40Speaker 1: make conditions favorable with your work, with your passion and
- 43:43Speaker 1: with whatever you want to do. So while then to
- 43:45Speaker 1: Amy Jones a brand new one there. I also played
- 43:47Speaker 1: with some Christina a gereed I Want a Girl Once
- 43:49Speaker 1: and Teddy Swim's News Control and DJ Kosher Dancing the
- 43:51Speaker 1: Moonlight and Sam Smith two good at goodbyes before I
- 43:55Speaker 1: show you how good I am at saying goodbye. I
- 43:57Speaker 1: suck at it. I don't like leaving you, but I
- 43:58Speaker 1: have to. I would like to let you know that
- 44:00Speaker 1: forty before forty we into a brand new week. So
- 44:03Speaker 1: far four episodes have dropped already, and I need to
- 44:06Speaker 1: tell you a little thing about forty before forty. A
- 44:08Speaker 1: lot of people are wondering, why is it forty before forty.
- 44:12Speaker 1: We know you're turning forty, cor what's the other forty part? Well,
- 44:14Speaker 1: let me explain thirty forty hacks, eight expert friends, brand
- 44:19Speaker 1: new and one brand new series forty before forty forty
- 44:25Speaker 1: before forty with Carl Wasty. So I decided, when I
- 44:29Speaker 1: set out to do this podcast, which is available to
- 44:31Speaker 1: you in Prime Media Plus as well as the app,
- 44:35Speaker 1: I wanted to create a little bank of forty hacks
- 44:38Speaker 1: from these experts so that I can reference that and
- 44:41Speaker 1: actually give it to you. So whether you're turning twenty
- 44:44Speaker 1: or thirty or ninety, it doesn't matter. We could all
- 44:46Speaker 1: learn something. So the whole thing was to ask eight
- 44:50Speaker 1: people for five hacks each at the end of every podcast,
- 44:53Speaker 1: so I can take that, print it out, frame it
- 44:56Speaker 1: and put it up somewhere so I can look back
- 44:58Speaker 1: and say, you know what, I remember when that post
- 45:00Speaker 1: and told me this. I need to not lose sight
- 45:02Speaker 1: of that. So I go into forty with intention as
- 45:05Speaker 1: opposed to do what everybody else says, though a lot
- 45:07Speaker 1: of peers are like, ah, forty wasty, the knees and
- 45:11Speaker 1: the back and this and then that, and I'm like, nah, man,
- 45:14Speaker 1: come on, I wanted to be prosperous. I want to
- 45:17Speaker 1: put a new message on the whole forty turning forty thing,
- 45:23Speaker 1: and the message should be positive. That is what I
- 45:26Speaker 1: wanted out of forty before forty. So I want to
- 45:29Speaker 1: share one hack out of each of the four episodes
- 45:32Speaker 1: that have dropped recently, just to give you an idea
- 45:35Speaker 1: of what I was looking for. So Maya Fisher French
- 45:38Speaker 1: my first episode, it was all about finance, and I
- 45:41Speaker 1: was very very clear on what I was feeling. I
- 45:44Speaker 1: have financial trauma because of the how I grew up before,
- 45:48Speaker 1: because of all the times where unfortunately the rug got
- 45:51Speaker 1: pulled out from under me, and I had to make
- 45:53Speaker 1: a plan. That causes a lot of trauma in somebody,
- 45:56Speaker 1: especially when it comes to finances. So I needed Maya
- 45:59Speaker 1: to educate me, and she did so with such great
- 46:01Speaker 1: a plum, so so clear and concise. I love that
- 46:04Speaker 1: one episode one was all about Maya sharing more facts
- 46:07Speaker 1: about finance. And here's a hack to me.
- 46:10Speaker 10: I think gifts for you would be too.
- 46:14Speaker 1: You know, you spoke.
- 46:14Speaker 10: About fear, and I think you will reduce your fear
- 46:18Speaker 10: a huge amount off you actually put a plan together.
- 46:21Speaker 1: I think you need a plan.
- 46:22Speaker 10: You need to say, my son is going to university,
- 46:25Speaker 10: how am I going to fund it and put a
- 46:27Speaker 10: plan in place. You're going to say, I need to
- 46:29Speaker 10: be investing. We've discussed how much you need as your
- 46:33Speaker 10: emergency fund. After that, I need to start investing. I'm
- 46:35Speaker 10: going to go back to that tax resavings account and
- 46:37Speaker 10: I'm going to get some proper information. I'm going to
- 46:39Speaker 10: make sure I actually properly invest. So I think it
- 46:41Speaker 10: is about going and saying, let me put plans.
- 46:44Speaker 1: In place, and know what I found out from that.
- 46:46Speaker 1: I actually found out that I had a fear of planning,
- 46:50Speaker 1: and that fear of planning came from the scale at
- 46:52Speaker 1: which I had to think in terms of distance ahead
- 46:54Speaker 1: of me. That made me a bit anxious, and so
- 46:57Speaker 1: I realized that clearing that path. It helped me plan
- 47:00Speaker 1: a bit better, and now I've got incredible things ahead
- 47:03Speaker 1: of me. I even got a meeting with the one
- 47:06Speaker 1: of my estate advisors as in for my will, that'll
- 47:09Speaker 1: be this Friday. So I am looking at taking these
- 47:12Speaker 1: and I'm actually acting on them very very quickly. I'm
- 47:16Speaker 1: not leaving it to like, aha, get there. I think
- 47:18Speaker 1: the biggest delusion that many people can share is that
- 47:21Speaker 1: you have time. Nah, live in the moment, enjoy it,
- 47:25Speaker 1: because there is such thing as good pressure and good
- 47:27Speaker 1: stress to get you to do things that you need
- 47:29Speaker 1: to in life. So thank you, my official French. There
- 47:31Speaker 1: was only one of the five actually gave me. Then.
- 47:33Speaker 1: On the parenting front, Nicky Bush was there for parental
- 47:37Speaker 1: guidance is advised. That's what the episode is called episode two,
- 47:41Speaker 1: and I wanted one of her bits of advice to
- 47:43Speaker 1: take with me into forty. Everything is figure outable.
- 47:46Speaker 6: No matter what life throws at you, everything is figure outable.
- 47:50Speaker 6: Life does not unfold in a straight line. It's going
- 47:52Speaker 6: to throw you curve balls. So when you are throwing
- 47:55Speaker 6: a curveball, develop the skill of reframing, reframing this moment
- 48:00Speaker 6: that life is presenting to you whatever it is you see.
- 48:04Speaker 6: Change happens in three ways, by choice, by chance, or
- 48:07Speaker 6: by crisis to all of us all of the time.
- 48:09Speaker 6: Change is actually more common than you think. In everyday life,
- 48:13Speaker 6: we are having to shift and change. So, however life
- 48:16Speaker 6: presents itself to you, or change presents itself to you,
- 48:20Speaker 6: are you going to see it as a full stop,
- 48:22Speaker 6: as the end of everything you know? Or as a
- 48:25Speaker 6: comma and.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Dot dot dot love Nikki Bush parenting was so refreshing
- 48:31Speaker 1: and I feel better for it after being a part
- 48:34Speaker 1: of that episode number two of forty before forty and
- 48:37Speaker 1: then a big question around turning forty or any other
- 48:41Speaker 1: that stops in your life if you want to call
- 48:42Speaker 1: it that of milestones? Health? Am I on track? What
- 48:45Speaker 1: should I be considering? And Doctor Ben could see I
- 48:48Speaker 1: was al too happy to share his hacks. Here's one
- 48:51Speaker 1: of them.
- 48:51Speaker 9: I cannot overemphasize sleep enough. Good sleep is the number
- 48:54Speaker 9: one reason you're going to aig very well and avoid disease. Now,
- 48:56Speaker 9: we don't all have twelve hours to sleep.
- 48:58Speaker 1: I get that.
- 48:59Speaker 9: My tip, my life life hack is have a set
- 49:02Speaker 9: consistent Let's say you can give me five hours. It
- 49:04Speaker 9: should be the five hours that are the same every day.
- 49:07Speaker 9: Let's say you can give me from eleven to four.
- 49:10Speaker 9: It should always be the same. Sleep consistency for long
- 49:12Speaker 9: term health matters more than absolute numbers of hours, So
- 49:15Speaker 9: I would rather that you had a consistent sleep schedule
- 49:18Speaker 9: than a varied eight hours all the time.
- 49:20Speaker 1: Anyone can do this.
- 49:20Speaker 9: This is a free, low cost, high leverage life hack.
- 49:24Speaker 9: It'll impact how you get disease, will impact your sugar,
- 49:26Speaker 9: It'll impact if you get enough sleep, you make better
- 49:29Speaker 9: nutrition choices. Because you're feeling better, you're going to move
- 49:31Speaker 9: your body. It's like sleep opens up everything. It's the
- 49:33Speaker 9: number one leverage point in people's lives. And it doesn't
- 49:36Speaker 9: have to be a ton of hours. It must just
- 49:37Speaker 9: be the same ours.
- 49:40Speaker 1: I mean, I didn't even need to say anything about that.
- 49:42Speaker 1: I'm sleeping like a maybe after that episode. But the
- 49:45Speaker 1: thing is, there's actually a complete episode on sleep coming
- 49:48Speaker 1: up that'll be next week on forty before forty. But
- 49:52Speaker 1: well done, doctor Ben. You have changed my life with
- 49:56Speaker 1: one hack out of the five. It was incredible. And
- 49:59Speaker 1: then the most recent an episode was Shelley lu In
- 50:01Speaker 1: a relationship architect, and I was concerned about me working
- 50:06Speaker 1: so often, it means I don't have time to maintain friendships.
- 50:10Speaker 1: And it worried me because I don't want to go
- 50:12Speaker 1: into the latter parts of my life with no circle
- 50:16Speaker 1: and no structured friend group that could be there with me,
- 50:19Speaker 1: in age with me. And that's why I had the
- 50:22Speaker 1: chat about friendship. And this is the hack that Shelley
- 50:25Speaker 1: Lewin gave me after episode four.
- 50:27Speaker 4: Treat friendship like you treat exercise or sleep. It belongs
- 50:31Speaker 4: in your wellness strategies because loneliness is not just emotional,
- 50:36Speaker 4: it's biological, which was that study that we spoke about.
- 50:40Speaker 4: So it's not the absence of people, it's the absence
- 50:42Speaker 4: of connection or the presence of.
- 50:44Speaker 1: People, but the absence of connection. So it is going.
- 50:48Speaker 4: To need to become as important to you connecting with people.
- 50:52Speaker 4: And the same way that you've found and made time
- 50:55Speaker 4: for the CrossFit and you've invested in that.
- 50:59Speaker 1: Basically, flex my friendship muscles too and make deliberate time
- 51:03Speaker 1: for it. Noted and acknowledged. Those were the four episodes
- 51:06Speaker 1: dropped recently, Finance, Parenting, Health, Friendship, and two fresh ones
- 51:13Speaker 1: to go tomorrow Happiness. I have Professor Sharin Richter who
- 51:17Speaker 1: chatted to me about happiness and defining that at this
