  Today we're going to talk about spirituality, what we believe and Kristen's
• 0:53
  journey into mediumship. I call her Krissy.

  We don't have to believe in the same things and neither do you.

  This is about having an honest conversation about something that has become part of our lives.

  Chrissy, when did you first realize something was happening and how did you
• 1:09
  get from there to where you are today?
• 1:12
  Well, let's see. I was actually 38 years old when I woke up with my gift.
• 1:18
  I had gone through some huge life changes. I had a partial hysterectomy which
• 1:23
  is my whole uterus and one of my,
• 1:26
  ovaries were just taken out because I had a hard time with with that after my third child but anywho.
• 1:35
  It was kind of mind-blowing because I I wasn't sure,
• 1:40
  what was going on because it was just like I heard all these people like talking
• 1:44
  to me like how it was explained to me is that like when I had like this light
• 1:48
  switch go off and then my My spirit looked like this big homing beacon.
• 1:52
  This is what I've been told.
• 1:53
  And it does resonate, so I'm not negating any of that.
• 1:57
  But I...

  I don't know. It's just, it's been an ever-evolving thing. I learn new stuff
• 2:03
  every day. Like, I started giving readings pretty quick after a little bit of
• 2:08
  mentorship from a local psychic person.
• 2:13
  And it's just, it's been eight?
• 2:17
  No, how old am I? Nine years. No, ten. Ten years. It's been ten years. Holy shit.

  Yeah and then just to I just had an experience last Friday a week ago that I
• 2:29
  just I couldn't keep my mouth shut over because a lot of times I censor and I'm not supposed to.
• 2:34
  But because I'm I'm a chicken shit like when I'm out in public and I'm like
• 2:37
  I get these hits from spirit you know,
• 2:40
  and and I'm a chicken shit and I don't want to rock anybody's boat but this
• 2:43
  this chick I rocked her boat and it was in a good way I love it so so what's
• 2:48
  it like to actually be a medium like What do you experience?
• 2:51
  How do you know you're receiving a hit? And what surprised you about it?
• 2:55
  I think what surprised me the most about it was the authenticity of being like
• 3:01
  myself being vulnerable and allowing my body and my mind and my heart to be a conduit from spirit,
• 3:10
  to people here.
• 3:12
  Because I I've helped heal hundreds of people in the last 10 years and some
• 3:19
  of them it's a constant journey some of them it's a one-and-done kind of thing,
• 3:24
  But it's just, it's been a blessing for me to be a part of that healing journey for them.
• 3:30
  I love that. So I'm going to ask you two questions in one, which,
• 3:34
  you know, as a coach, you're not supposed to have double stack question, but I'm going to.
• 3:38
  So how has mediumship changed what you believe about life, death,
• 3:42
  and what happens after we die?
• 3:45
  So I guess I'll just leave it at one question.
• 3:49
  I was brought up in the Methodist church. I was confirmed there.
• 3:53
  I, you know, I had those beliefs for a long time. I do feel now that God and
• 4:01
  the universe are one in the same.
• 4:03
  God is a title that we give the highest being of all.
• 4:07
  Love is the greatest of all things. I try my hardest to live my life in love, be love, and be light.
• 4:16
  I try to preach that to my kids but they went through me in a pretty with or
• 4:20
  they went through life with me in a pretty rocky time of course so so that's
• 4:25
  that makes them who they are and it makes you who yeah,
• 4:29
  yeah and then trying to like retrain their brains that's been fun,
• 4:33
  so exactly but awesome well i know that,
• 4:37
  you also stopped practicing for a little bit why why did that happen i think
• 4:43
  because i had to go through some life stuff, not personally per se,
• 4:48
  but I think, well, yeah, a little bit personally because I had to get my kids grown.
• 4:52
  Now, like I said in the previous episode, they're all in their 20s, but we had.
• 4:58
  Dad's dad's cancer diagnosis for his prostate cancer so i i needed to be spiritually
• 5:05
  and emotionally available for dad and for mom and for you and for myself of course,
• 5:12
  because the four of us went on that journey together and yeah and dad's not
• 5:16
  he's not cancer free but he's cancer maintained yeah so no evidence of cancer
• 5:21
  right right which you're grateful for yep so but it is prostate cancer,
• 5:26
  that he was diagnosed with and it metastasized.
• 5:29
  And our parents, like they, and I'm not speaking ill of mom and dad at all,
• 5:34
  but they, cause this is how they were raised too. Like cancer is a bad word.
• 5:38
  Right. And I think that you and I were able to help balance because they were
• 5:42
  coming from a place of fear and you and I were coming from a place of wholeness.
• 5:48
  Yeah, and and trying to be the optimistic one because, you know,
• 5:53
  Mom mom's kind of doom and gloom sometimes and so is dad and they just kind
• 5:57
  of feed off of each other But I just think that you and I being present for
• 6:01
  that whole entire journey Helped them.
• 6:04
  And and we we gave them grace and they gave us grace.
• 6:07
  They never never once where they like Don't try to be so joyful about it or
• 6:12
  not anything like that. Like they they always tried to be open to receive.
• 6:18
  Yeah. Well, and cancer is scary for everyone that anyone who has cancer,
• 6:21
  like naturally we're like, you face your mortality and we all have cancer cells.
• 6:28
  It's a matter of if they're active or not. And so in dad's case,
• 6:32
  they were active and they were very active and it brought us together even closer.
• 6:38
  The, you know, the group of us, Kevin, and it brought, it brought our family
• 6:43
  together a little bit more so than we were like it gave us purpose to be one
• 6:48
  yeah which i'm very grateful for that that kind of got off track,
• 6:53
  it's all good all right so it's my turn yeah to ask questions okay okay.
• 6:59
  So what do you believe about spirituality, Shel?
• 7:03
  And where do your beliefs come from? And have they changed you or have they
• 7:07
  changed as you've gotten older? Yeah, for sure.
• 7:10
  So I grew up Presbyterian church.
• 7:13
  I'd go to church with my grandparents and my mom. And I was very active in youth
• 7:19
  fellowship and all the things you could be involved in. I was in the choir.
• 7:24
  I played bells. I was very active in church.
• 7:27
  And when my family stopped going to church, which surprised me.
• 7:31
  I walked myself to church.
• 7:33
  So they were like my safe family growing up.
• 7:36
  Again, because there was some mental illness in our household,
• 7:40
  it was my place to go to because they were like an extended family.
• 7:44
  So I'm grateful for that. And years later, my mom shared with me that she sat
• 7:51
  in the same pew with me and she didn't believe, you know, what I believe,
• 7:54
  like she had never accepted Jesus into her heart. And I was like, what?
• 7:58
  How is that possible? Like, you're an adult. You should be ahead of me.
• 8:01
  And so I realized, oh, I had judgment around that.
• 8:04
  And so I forced backtracked. I was like, don't be judgmental.
• 8:07
  Let her have her journey. And when my daughter, Natasha, died in a car accident
• 8:14
  nine and a half years ago, just over nine years ago, and before that as well, like.
• 8:21
  I've been in a lot of church situations that were very legalistic.
• 8:25
  And yeah, I've even had pastors be absolute assholes.
• 8:30
  And I didn't love the legalism of it. And so I believe in God.
• 8:34
  I believe in spirit. But when Tasha died, I was like, I think my heart,
• 8:39
  my mind opened to there's more.
• 8:42
  And how I know that is I have received signs and messages and people and yourself.
• 8:49
  And it's like, you know, when you said to me when Tasha died in her auto accident,
• 8:53
  single car auto accident, that
• 8:55
  she, you know, when she hit, so she went off the road, the road curved,
• 8:59
  she hit a culver, she flipped and she drowned in a lake that she didn't feel it. She watched it.
• 9:04
  And so I think of her physical body cracking and popping and hurting,
• 9:08
  but that she was okay and that she didn't have to experience that pain and like the drowning.
• 9:14
  Like, of course, there was air in her lungs and that whole physical thing happened,
• 9:17
  but she didn't physically experience it. She watched. Right.
• 9:21
  And so that has given me such peace to know that.
• 9:25
  There's more and like she sends me signs all the time butterflies and white
• 9:30
  owls and messages and I just
• 9:33
  there's more than just and she's here with us today because we recorded our
• 9:37
  intro at 11 11 I know at 11 11 so what happened with 11 11 11 we should tell
• 9:42
  people this this will come up
• 9:43
  so Tasha and I used to text each other at 11 11 and 11 11 just to say I love
• 9:48
  you we didn't use the words I love you but we knew that meant I love you and
• 9:51
  that girl loved me something fierce she was she told me she was here to protect me
• 9:55
  that was her job on earth was to protect daniel and i and when she the day i
• 9:59
  told her i'd moved into my own condo and that.

  Daniel and i were good that that's the day she died it's also the day that i
• 10:08
  told paul i was moving out and he's like,
• 10:12
  pack your stuff you got 30 days
• 10:13
  to get out and then the next morning we realized tasha died and he's like,
• 10:18
  bury your daughter deal with it and get out and i was like okay so that was
• 10:21
  like release for me is like that was tasha but that's really fucking sideways uh like so gross.
• 10:30
  But it allowed me my life today i'm married to kevin oh my gosh the best person
• 10:35
  ever and i've got great kids i think i have developed as a human because of spirituality.
• 10:43
  And I love my life. It's not perfect and it's okay.
• 10:49
  But what I believe happens when we die, I think we've talked about this before, you and I, but,
• 10:55
  I believe that I've studied all the religions of the world, and I think that
• 11:00
  there's one higher power, and we call it different names.
• 11:04
  And I think there's a lot of legalism in religion, and I think that it's not
• 11:09
  my job to judge people's label.
• 11:12
  Like, I love people, period. And people love me. And if they don't,
• 11:16
  it's okay. It's where they're at.
• 11:18
  So that's what I believe. But I believe that life is eternal and that it goes on and on and on.

  And that I do believe, I didn't used to believe, but I do believe that we come
• 11:29
  back and, you know, we get a new assignment.
• 11:33
  Yep, absolutely. Yeah.
• 11:36
  I bet I've had at least 50 past lives. Oh, my gosh. Well, we're going to go
• 11:41
  here because we went to a mediumship conference.
• 11:44
  And Kristen was like, it's all about intuition and spirit. And I was like,
• 11:47
  okay, I'll go. And I literally didn't really know what I was going to.
• 11:51
  When I asked you to go, I wanted you to find healing because I didn't know how to give that to you.
• 11:57
  Because it was like, was it the October after Tosh died? Yeah.
• 12:04
  So we went to Minnesota and I was like, you know what, I'm here.
• 12:08
  I'll be fully here. I don't really even know my, I do have great intuition,
• 12:13
  amazing intuition. And I do have premonitions. I do have great spiritual gifts,
• 12:18
  but I didn't even at that point know what they were. Like I had no clue.
• 12:22
  So I was like, okay, I'm here. I'm going to do these exercises.
• 12:25
  And in those exercises, my mother-in-law spoke to me.
• 12:28
  Tosh spoke to me. I definitely did some past life regression stuff.
• 12:33
  I think that's what they call it, regression. And I was, so I have to tell you, I was a CEO.
• 12:37
  I was a bank robber. I was a powerful queen with 10 daughters.
• 12:41
  And I was kind of greedy around money and some of my past lives.
• 12:46
  I'm pretty sure I killed someone, which I'm not super proud of,
• 12:49
  but it's where I was then.
• 12:51
  Yeah. But that's part of the bringing those past lives forward is learning how to move through them.
• 12:57
  Because that's part of our job here is to have those lessons and learn from
• 13:02
  them. Of course, because now I think I'm one of the most loving people ever.
• 13:06
  And do I still have anger? Yeah, I do.
• 13:09
  But who doesn't have anger, right? I'm angry every time I roll my ass out of bed.
• 13:13
  So, you know, real emotion. So I'm a coach, and I tell people all emotions are good.
• 13:19
  They are a signal and a message. Yeah, that you're living. Yeah, exactly.
• 13:23
  So let's talk about mediumship. I believe in it. So you don't think I'm a crap
• 13:27
  of shit? No, I don't. Oh, good. No, not at all.
• 13:30
  But I think people are scared of spiritual gifts.
• 13:33
  Yeah. Like, I do have some family members that would be like, medium?
• 13:37
  Oh you're going to hell in a handbasket everybody thinks you're talking to satan
• 13:42
  or whatever and it's actually the exact opposite i know exactly and i'm like
• 13:46
  you and i grew up believing the same beliefs and it's like no she didn't you know.
• 13:51
  She's not some not she's not a witchy poo like and you know what i have no even
• 13:54
  if i was yeah i have no judgment around witches like we're not we're not evil
• 13:58
  we're good people you know yep so,
• 14:01
  but i absolutely believe in it and i look forward to I know I have more spiritual gifts and,
• 14:08
  I know they're coming and I think part of it is the more creative I am the more
• 14:14
  I lean in the more those come right yeah yeah yeah
• 14:18
