- 1:22Speaker 1: since The Football one hundred. Of the more than twenty
- 1:26Speaker 1: five thousand men who have played professional football, who are
- 1:30Speaker 1: the very best? The sportswriters from The Athletic recently tackled
- 1:34Speaker 1: that question and came out with a book named The
- 1:37Speaker 1: Football one Hundred. In it, they count down the guys
- 1:41Speaker 1: they've ranked as the top one hundred players of all time.
- 1:45Speaker 1: In case you're wondering, Anthony Munoz checks in at number twelve.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Each player gets a lengthy profile, so the book is huge.
- 1:55Speaker 1: It's six hundred and fifty six pages. I'm about two
- 1:58Speaker 1: hundred pages in taking me down to player number sixty four,
- 2:02Speaker 1: Steve Largent, and I'm really enjoying learning about legendary players
- 2:07Speaker 1: going back to the nineteen thirties. So if you love
- 2:11Speaker 1: football and enjoy reading about the game's history, I can
- 2:14Speaker 1: recommend The Football one hundred. You can find it online
- 2:19Speaker 1: for less than thirty bucks. Now let's get to the Bengals.
- 2:23Speaker 1: One of the team's biggest issues this year has been
- 2:26Speaker 1: stopping the run. Over the last two seasons, the Bengals
- 2:29Speaker 1: finished fifth and seventh in the NFL in rushing yards allowed,
- 2:34Speaker 1: But so far this year, with most of the same
- 2:36Speaker 1: players back on defense, they ranked twenty ninth, and during
- 2:40Speaker 1: their current three game losing streak, they've given up one
- 2:44Speaker 1: hundred eighty eight rushing yards to Houston, one fifty seven
- 2:47Speaker 1: to Baltimore, and one fifty three to Pittsburgh. Looking for
- 2:51Speaker 1: an explanation, I turned to Greg Cosell from NFL Films
- 2:56Speaker 1: and the ESPN Matchup Show.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Struggling to understand that, because I think if you look
- 3:02Speaker 2: at their individual players, I think they're really good players,
- 3:07Speaker 2: Like I would look at BJ Hill and Reader and say,
- 3:10Speaker 2: those guys are really solid defensive tackles in the NFL.
- 3:16Speaker 2: The easy answer to that, and it may not be
- 3:18Speaker 2: a sexy answer for fans. And I've had these conversations
- 3:22Speaker 2: with coaches at the combine many times about the run game,
- 3:25Speaker 2: and usually the run game is, if you're not stopping it,
- 3:29Speaker 2: it's because guys are getting blocked, guys are going into
- 3:33Speaker 2: their wrong gaps. And it's funny because there was one
- 3:36Speaker 2: game and I wish I could remember the specific game,
- 3:38Speaker 2: and I want people to understand that I didn't know
- 3:40Speaker 2: what you're going to ask me, so it's not like
- 3:42Speaker 2: we prepared this. There was one game where I thought
- 3:45Speaker 2: Wilson and Pratt were not very good at all in
- 3:48Speaker 2: just key and diagnose and what they saw, and therefore
- 3:51Speaker 2: they became a step behind everything. And normally they're very
- 3:54Speaker 2: good players, as you know, and I like both those
- 3:58Speaker 2: guys as players based on tape, but I think that's
- 4:00Speaker 2: happened a little more this year than we expect. That
- 4:04Speaker 2: they're just not seeing it as quickly as they should,
- 4:08Speaker 2: and therefore the gap integrity is not quite there. So
- 4:11Speaker 2: that's the reason the run game normally is not as good.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Guys get moved out of the point of attack, and
- 4:16Speaker 2: often second level defenders don't play with the needed gap
- 4:20Speaker 2: integrity to fill. And I think those are the two
- 4:24Speaker 2: things that stand out when I watch the tape.
- 4:26Speaker 1: The Bengals are five and six, obviously not where we
- 4:29Speaker 1: hoped they would be or thought they would be. Do
- 4:32Speaker 1: you largely chalk it up to Joe Burrow's injuries?
- 4:36Speaker 2: Yes, Look, I think that a great quarterback and he
- 4:40Speaker 2: certainly has proven to be that in his short career
- 4:43Speaker 2: can camouflage and compensate for other things that coaches would
- 4:47Speaker 2: say need to be fixed or corrected, and a great
- 4:50Speaker 2: quarterback can certainly do that. So yeah, again, no one
- 4:54Speaker 2: can say what their record would be if he was playing. Obviously,
- 4:57Speaker 2: early in the season it was evident that the CA
- 5:00Speaker 2: was still an issue, so that was a factor as
- 5:03Speaker 2: well early on, and then he seemed to get into
- 5:06Speaker 2: a bit of a groove, and then of course the
- 5:08Speaker 2: season ended. So yeah, I mean, no one could say,
- 5:11Speaker 2: Dan what their record would be. We can't sit here
- 5:14Speaker 2: and say, oh, they'd be nine to two or they'd
- 5:16Speaker 2: be ten and one. We can't say that, but they'd
- 5:18Speaker 2: certainly be a team that is talked about a lot
- 5:21Speaker 2: more and a team that people would think would have
- 5:23Speaker 2: a chance once the playoffs started to do some damage.
- 5:28Speaker 1: And chatting with Greg Cosel from NFL Films in the
- 5:31Speaker 1: ESPN Matchup show the Future is now in the secondary
- 5:35Speaker 1: cam Taylor Britt and Dax Hill are in their second year.
- 5:38Speaker 1: DJ Turner and Jordan Battle are playing a lot as rookies.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Which of those young guys have caught your eye?
- 5:44Speaker 2: Oh, I was going to ask you because I noticed
- 5:46Speaker 2: that Battle. This week he played fifty nine snaps and
- 5:49Speaker 2: Scott only played fourteen, and he only really played in
- 5:53Speaker 2: the nickel, you know, third down. I should say has
- 5:56Speaker 2: Battle basically won that job now as the starting safety
- 6:00Speaker 2: to Hill.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Yes, last week was the first time that he started,
- 6:04Speaker 1: but over the past couple of weeks he's been getting
- 6:06Speaker 1: the bulk of the snaps.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Yeah. I really liked Battle coming out. He was a
- 6:10Speaker 2: four year player at Alabama. He was a big time
- 6:12Speaker 2: recruit I believe, coming out of Florida, like one of
- 6:14Speaker 2: the biggest, and had a really nice college career, chose
- 6:17Speaker 2: to stay when he could have come out. He always
- 6:20Speaker 2: struck me as just one of those really solid players, like,
- 6:24Speaker 2: you know, not a special athlete, maybe not going to
- 6:27Speaker 2: be a special pro, but one of those glue guys.
- 6:31Speaker 2: And I think Dax Hill, you know, he's used in
- 6:33Speaker 2: multiple ways when they go man, which they play a
- 6:36Speaker 2: lot of. By the way, he is the tight end matchup,
- 6:39Speaker 2: he has corner traits. I think he could become a
- 6:42Speaker 2: really really good player. It looks like Turner has essentially
- 6:46Speaker 2: won the job opposite Taylor Bridge, who I know was
- 6:49Speaker 2: interactive this week. So they have you know, two corners
- 6:52Speaker 2: now young players. As you said, Taylor Bridge is a
- 6:55Speaker 2: really good player. I like. I just like how competitive
- 6:57Speaker 2: he is. Obviously he's not the best athlete at the position,
- 7:01Speaker 2: but he can certainly hold his own. So yeah, this
- 7:05Speaker 2: secondary I think. You know, given the fact that they
- 7:07Speaker 2: had lost Baits and Bell from a year ago, which
- 7:10Speaker 2: when you and I spoke after the season, was a
- 7:12Speaker 2: clear concern. You know, Hill has now stepped up. He's
- 7:16Speaker 2: going to be a really good player. And I think
- 7:18Speaker 2: Battle's going to be, Like I said, Battle's going to
- 7:19Speaker 2: be one of those guys he's just he's going to
- 7:22Speaker 2: be in the right place. He's going to do what
- 7:23Speaker 2: needs to be done. And you know, maybe he'll have
- 7:26Speaker 2: a limitation here and there, but I don't think it'll
- 7:28Speaker 2: be the kind that really impacts his ability to perform
- 7:31Speaker 2: at a pretty high level.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Miles Murphy's snap count is going up as well. What
- 7:37Speaker 1: did you think of him coming out of Clemson and
- 7:40Speaker 1: his potential to be a significant part of this Bengals
- 7:43Speaker 1: defense going forward.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought that Miles Murphy coming out of college
- 7:47Speaker 2: was a guy who really looked the part. Long athletic
- 7:50Speaker 2: Sinewy can bend a little bit but needed refinement in
- 7:54Speaker 2: how to rush the quarterback. And I still think seeing
- 7:57Speaker 2: his tape that he still needs work in that area.
- 8:00Speaker 2: But if he can develop that because as you know, Dan,
- 8:03Speaker 2: in the NFL, you can't just rely on being a
- 8:05Speaker 2: good athlete or being quick. You know, you need to
- 8:07Speaker 2: have an array of moves. You need to be able
- 8:10Speaker 2: to work offensive tackles. And I think as he continues
- 8:14Speaker 2: to learn that he has a pretty bright future because
- 8:17Speaker 2: as you know, he's long, he's athletic, he really looks
- 8:21Speaker 2: like an edge pass rusher. And by the way they
- 8:23Speaker 2: move him inside at times too, you know they do
- 8:25Speaker 2: a lot of that.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Jake Browning made his first NFL start last week. It
- 8:29Speaker 1: was his first start overall in about five years since
- 8:32Speaker 1: the twenty nineteen Rose Bowl. What have you observed watching
- 8:36Speaker 1: Jake Browning?
- 8:37Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know if there's any kind way
- 8:39Speaker 2: to say the fact that his limitations are are pretty significant.
- 8:43Speaker 2: So if you accept that, the only way he can
- 8:46Speaker 2: be really serviceable, I guess would be the right word
- 8:50Speaker 2: is if mentally he plays at a really high level.
- 8:53Speaker 2: And he did not against the Steelers. Now it's his
- 8:55Speaker 2: first start, so you don't want to make your definitive
- 8:58Speaker 2: judgment that, oh, that can never happen. Obviously, they're playing
- 9:02Speaker 2: Jacksonville this week Monday night, right, that's a Monday night game.
- 9:07Speaker 2: And Jacksonville's defense is way better than people might be
- 9:10Speaker 2: aware because everybody just talks about Trevor Lawrence. But Jacksonville's
- 9:13Speaker 2: got a really good defense. I think they have the
- 9:15Speaker 2: third best third down defense in football. They have some
- 9:18Speaker 2: really interesting rush concepts and blitz schemes. This is going
- 9:23Speaker 2: to be a big time challenge mentally, and like I said,
- 9:26Speaker 2: he's the kind of quarterback that has to play at
- 9:28Speaker 2: a really high mental level because the physical tools are
- 9:32Speaker 2: just not there.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Greg, if you could add something to the Bengals roster,
- 9:37Speaker 1: speedy running back, field, stretching, tight end, interior pass rusher,
- 9:41Speaker 1: whatever it might be, what would that thing be?
- 9:45Speaker 2: Well, you just mentioned all three. I mean, you know
- 9:51Speaker 2: the tight end situation. I'd love to see, you know,
- 9:54Speaker 2: a tight end that can can really do that. I mean,
- 9:59Speaker 2: you know, is there a Smith that guy? I don't know.
- 10:03Speaker 2: I thought so when he came out of college, but
- 10:07Speaker 2: you know, we'll see how that plays out. I mean,
- 10:09Speaker 2: it's so hard because Borrow's not playing to know how
- 10:12Speaker 2: all this would play out. You know, I think the back,
- 10:15Speaker 2: they're probably going to have to get a back at
- 10:18Speaker 2: some point here in the next year, and I think
- 10:21Speaker 2: they recognize that. You know, there's no reason to talk
- 10:23Speaker 2: about it now. And you'd certainly love to have an
- 10:26Speaker 2: interior pass rusher. I really like Reader. I think he's
- 10:29Speaker 2: a little bit better pass rusher than people think. And
- 10:32Speaker 2: there's not twenty Aaron Donald's, but it'd be nice to
- 10:35Speaker 2: have a guy who's more like in Aaron Donald, just
- 10:38Speaker 2: in terms of juice explosion, you know, that can that
- 10:41Speaker 2: can really be a factor inside. You know, Hendrickson is
- 10:44Speaker 2: a really good pass rusher. I don't think he gets
- 10:46Speaker 2: the credit he deserves. I think Hubbard's a really nice player,
- 10:49Speaker 2: really good you know, one of those guys that I'll
- 10:51Speaker 2: play twelve thirteen years and you'll go, Wow, that guy
- 10:53Speaker 2: had a really nice career. But I don't think he's
- 10:55Speaker 2: a true edge rusher now once in a while, because
- 10:58Speaker 2: he's a good athlete, but once in a while, but
- 11:00Speaker 2: he's not that guy. I guess the hope is Murphy
- 11:02Speaker 2: becomes that guy, and that remains to be seen.
- 11:05Speaker 1: So it is off to Jacksonville on Monday night. The
- 11:08Speaker 1: Jags are eight and three. They've opened up a two
- 11:10Speaker 1: game lead in their division. What must the team do
- 11:13Speaker 1: to beat Jacksonville.
- 11:15Speaker 2: It's gonna be hard to beat them if you don't
- 11:17Speaker 2: score some points. And that's not a profound statement, obviously,
- 11:20Speaker 2: but they're not gonna win this game ten to seven.
- 11:23Speaker 2: I don't believe. You know, this has been a strange year.
- 11:25Speaker 2: So I don't want to say give any absolutes, but
- 11:29Speaker 2: you know, I was thinking about this, how they can
- 11:31Speaker 2: go about trying to score. This is a much tougher
- 11:34Speaker 2: defense the Jaguars than people might be aware. They're very
- 11:38Speaker 2: good upfront. They've got two really good linebackers. They have
- 11:41Speaker 2: a safety in Rayshawn Jenkins, who I think is totally overlooked.
- 11:45Speaker 2: I think he's a really good player. You know, if
- 11:49Speaker 2: it was Joe Burrow, I'd say they can throw the football,
- 11:52Speaker 2: but I don't know if that's you know, if that's
- 11:55Speaker 2: that viable. They may have to and that may be
- 11:58Speaker 2: the way they have to try to go about winning
- 12:00Speaker 2: the game and putting points on the board, because it's
- 12:03Speaker 2: not likely in one week's time that the run game
- 12:05Speaker 2: is all of a sudden going to be dynamic, but
- 12:08Speaker 2: it's gonna be tough. I mean, you know, I probably
- 12:11Speaker 2: sound like a cliched coach, but it's one of those
- 12:13Speaker 2: games where they're gonna have to win on special teams,
- 12:16Speaker 2: they're gonna have to get some turnover, you know, the
- 12:18Speaker 2: typical stuff when you really don't you know, offensively, you
- 12:22Speaker 2: probably don't match up real well. You know, they're not
- 12:25Speaker 2: likely to put up four offensive touchdowns in this game.
- 12:28Speaker 2: So it's all those other things that come into play.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Greg.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Always fun to pick your brain. Look forward to seeing
- 12:35Speaker 1: you at the Combine in the spring. Thanks so much
- 12:37Speaker 1: for your time.
- 12:37Speaker 2: As always, Thanks Dan, appreciate it.
- 12:40Speaker 1: My first topic with Greg was stopping the run. Now
- 12:44Speaker 1: let's look at the other side of the ball. Last week,
- 12:46Speaker 1: the Bengals had twenty five rushing yards out eleven attempts,
- 12:50Speaker 1: and three of those runs were scrambles, so really it
- 12:54Speaker 1: was eight running plays for sixteen yards. Eight running plays
- 12:58Speaker 1: is not enough. I know it, and most importantly, the
- 13:02Speaker 1: coaching staff knows it. But it's hard to keep calling
- 13:05Speaker 1: runs when they are so inefficient and put the offense
- 13:09Speaker 1: in bad down and distant situations. Here's offensive coordinator Brian Callahan.
- 13:15Speaker 4: I've not been one that's officially subscribed to the theory
- 13:19Speaker 4: that the more times you run it, the better it gets.
- 13:21Speaker 4: I don't know that that's always the case, but there's
- 13:24Speaker 4: definitely times where you need to be able run the ball,
- 13:26Speaker 4: and we haven't been able to run it with the
- 13:29Speaker 4: effectiveness that we're gonna need to. That's the battle you
- 13:33Speaker 4: face when you're not running it well and you're trying
- 13:36Speaker 4: to maintain some semblance of positive gains to get a
- 13:40Speaker 4: manageable third down. That part of it gets tricky when
- 13:43Speaker 4: it's not going well. You know, the idea that you
- 13:46Speaker 4: just keep handing it off. The other side is you
- 13:49Speaker 4: struggle sometimes because you're just trying to move forward and
- 13:51Speaker 4: not being third and nine. It's a balance.
- 13:53Speaker 1: The Bengals are mostly a shotgun formation, three wide receiver
- 13:57Speaker 1: offense that caters to Joe Burrow's skills, and that approach
- 14:01Speaker 1: has taken them to back to back AFC Championship games
- 14:05Speaker 1: and a trip to the Super Bowl. But with Joe's
- 14:07Speaker 1: sideline for the rest of the year with his wrist injury,
- 14:10Speaker 1: they clearly need to get something out of the running
- 14:13Speaker 1: game to give Jake Browning more help than he received
- 14:16Speaker 1: in his first start. For more on that topic, and
- 14:19Speaker 1: to look at his first season in Cincinnati, I got
- 14:22Speaker 1: up this week with left tackle Orlando Brown, junior. Orlando.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I've noticed after losses that you are typically one of
- 14:30Speaker 1: the last guys sitting there in front of your locker
- 14:33Speaker 1: processing things. Are you replaying the game in your mind
- 14:37Speaker 1: or just dealing with the physical and emotional exhaustion.
- 14:40Speaker 5: Yeah, man, Honestly, winter loss, I'm normally Alaska out of here.
- 14:43Speaker 5: I just I don't know, I still feel like I'm
- 14:47Speaker 5: in like this third quarter, you know, I mean a
- 14:49Speaker 5: lot of time whin the game's in just kind of
- 14:51Speaker 5: you know, get in my mind right periodically throughout the week,
- 14:54Speaker 5: and you know, it seems like the games go so fast,
- 14:57Speaker 5: and you know, I like to take a little time
- 14:59Speaker 5: there after a game to be able to sit there
- 15:01Speaker 5: and collect my thoughts. So you know, I'm not kind
- 15:04Speaker 5: of taking whatever I'm feeling home, you know, whether that
- 15:06Speaker 5: be you know, I try not to get too high,
- 15:08Speaker 5: I get too low, you.
- 15:09Speaker 3: Know what I mean.
- 15:10Speaker 5: I want to be in the right mindset kind of
- 15:11Speaker 5: heading home, so I'll just kind of take time to
- 15:13Speaker 5: myself to decompress, you could say, in that moment, and
- 15:17Speaker 5: shower up.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Are you the type of person who hates losing more
- 15:23Speaker 1: than you love winning?
- 15:25Speaker 5: Definitely, man, definitely. You know, honestly, I'm when it comes
- 15:28Speaker 5: to football. Man, I'm very spoilt. You know, I've had
- 15:30Speaker 5: had a lot of success personally, and I've been on
- 15:33Speaker 5: a lot of great teams as well. So, Man, I
- 15:35Speaker 5: definitely ain't losing.
- 15:37Speaker 1: I'm glad you said that because the Bengals are five
- 15:40Speaker 1: and six. Looking back over the last eight years, so
- 15:44Speaker 1: three years at Oklahoma, Baltimore, Kansas City, You've never lost
- 15:49Speaker 1: more than six games in a season. The worst record
- 15:51Speaker 1: one of your teams has ever had was ten and
- 15:53Speaker 1: six your rookie year with Baltimore. Do you marvel at
- 15:57Speaker 1: your good fortune?
- 15:59Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 15:59Speaker 5: Man, I mean, and you know, winning is hard to
- 16:01Speaker 5: do on any level, especially in today's world with football. Man,
- 16:04Speaker 5: it's so competitive, the type of athletes we have, the coaches,
- 16:08Speaker 5: coaches are better, the offense and defenses are better. It's
- 16:11Speaker 5: so hard to win in this league. And as I said, Man,
- 16:14Speaker 5: I've been so fortunate, so blessed to play with really
- 16:16Speaker 5: great coaches, playing great schemes and with great, great players.
- 16:19Speaker 5: And you know, man, I do do believe that. You know,
- 16:22Speaker 5: we've got all the pieces we need to be able
- 16:24Speaker 5: to get in the dance, So hopefully that happens.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Joe Burrow missed all of training camp. When he got healthy,
- 16:30Speaker 1: you guys started a roll. Then he got hurt again.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Unfortunately he's going to miss the rest of the season.
- 16:36Speaker 1: How does an injured franchise quarterback impact the entire psyche
- 16:40Speaker 1: of a team?
- 16:41Speaker 5: Yeah, well, I mean in so many different ways, man,
- 16:44Speaker 5: from the way that calls are called, you know, players
- 16:48Speaker 5: are called to, you know, the flow of the game
- 16:51Speaker 5: to heck, even the defensive system, and you know the
- 16:55Speaker 5: way that things are. You know, it's it's a lot
- 16:57Speaker 5: that goes into it, man. But I think Joe's done
- 16:59Speaker 5: a great job and around especially in meetings, walked through,
- 17:02Speaker 5: was at practice Sundays. He's out there with us being
- 17:05Speaker 5: able to you know, cheer guys on and give good
- 17:07Speaker 5: advice in the moment because you know, he's he's got
- 17:09Speaker 5: a third off for the game. Man. That's what makes
- 17:10Speaker 5: him so special as well. So you know, basically having
- 17:13Speaker 5: him out there still, you know, he's still able to
- 17:15Speaker 5: have a positive impact on the team.
- 17:16Speaker 1: We're chatting with Orlando Brown junior Jake Browning seems to
- 17:20Speaker 1: have really earned the respect of the guys in the
- 17:22Speaker 1: locker room. What is he shown you?
- 17:25Speaker 5: Just a ton of confidence, man, And you know he's
- 17:27Speaker 5: he's a guy that's you know, he's he's got a
- 17:29Speaker 5: really big chip on his shoulder. He's had to work
- 17:31Speaker 5: really hard to get here, and he's worked hard and
- 17:34Speaker 5: earned this opportunity. And you know, for this organization, organization
- 17:37Speaker 5: and you know coach Taylor, you know Zach to give
- 17:40Speaker 5: him an opportunity, man, I mean, it's it's really special.
- 17:42Speaker 5: But I got a lot of confidence in him. And
- 17:43Speaker 5: he's a guy with a lot of confidence, so he's
- 17:45Speaker 5: easy to rally behind.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Running the ball has been a struggle this year, and
- 17:50Speaker 1: I'm having a hard time figuring out why the Bengals
- 17:52Speaker 1: have a good offensive line. Joe Mixon is a proven
- 17:55Speaker 1: running back. What must you guys do to run the
- 17:59Speaker 1: ball more?
- 17:59Speaker 5: EFFICI yeah, Well, you know, running the ball is hard, man,
- 18:02Speaker 5: and it takes all eleven you know, just as you
- 18:05Speaker 5: know it does man really with any play, but you know,
- 18:07Speaker 5: especially in the run game. You know, I mean, one
- 18:09Speaker 5: guy can you know, mess something up here, whether that
- 18:12Speaker 5: be me missing a down, block or me not getting
- 18:13Speaker 5: to the second level, you know, being able to spring
- 18:16Speaker 5: those four yard runs into you know, twenty yard runs
- 18:19Speaker 5: or two yard runs in the five yard runs. It
- 18:22Speaker 5: takes a lot of a lot of strain, a lot
- 18:23Speaker 5: of grit, and you know, it's kind of on us
- 18:25Speaker 5: up front, you know, to take care of that. Man.
- 18:26Speaker 5: I think, you know, Frank's done an amazing job week
- 18:29Speaker 5: the week man creating a great plan for us. We
- 18:31Speaker 5: haven't necessarily done a great job executing, and it's on
- 18:34Speaker 5: us as players to go out there be able to
- 18:36Speaker 5: win our one on one blocks and situations and dominate,
- 18:39Speaker 5: you know, the first level of the defense man to
- 18:41Speaker 5: be able to get up to that second level. So,
- 18:43Speaker 5: you know, I think it's really about that strain, that grit,
- 18:46Speaker 5: having that tenacity, that mindset man, that that we're not
- 18:48Speaker 5: going to be denied no matter what, And that's on
- 18:49Speaker 5: us as players up front.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Do those running numbers really bother you?
- 18:54Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 18:54Speaker 5: Definitely, man, definitely, because as you said, I mean, we've
- 18:57Speaker 5: got all the pieces, you know, We've got the offensive
- 19:00Speaker 5: line to do it, We've got the running back to
- 19:01Speaker 5: do it. You know, I also believe our scheme in
- 19:04Speaker 5: itself takes care of a lot of coverages in the
- 19:06Speaker 5: boxes that we that we'll see, So, man, it definitely
- 19:10Speaker 5: does bother me.
- 19:11Speaker 1: Orlando, You've been incredibly durable in your football career. You've
- 19:14Speaker 1: missed one start in your NFL career. You've dealt with
- 19:18Speaker 1: a growing injury this year. You miss some snaps in
- 19:21Speaker 1: the Seattle game, but you haven't missed a game. How
- 19:23Speaker 1: much pride do you take in answering the bell every week?
- 19:26Speaker 5: Yeah, A lot of pride, man, because you know some sometimes, Man,
- 19:30Speaker 5: the best attribute you can have as a good player
- 19:32Speaker 5: is being available and being available to my teammates, to
- 19:35Speaker 5: my coaches, knowing that they can include me on a
- 19:37Speaker 5: game plan every week, knowing that I'm gonna give my
- 19:39Speaker 5: all no matter how I'm feeling or you know, who
- 19:41Speaker 5: I'm going against or what the circumstances are situation we're in.
- 19:44Speaker 5: I take a lot of pride in that. Man. That
- 19:46Speaker 5: was an old school, you know, thing that was driven
- 19:48Speaker 5: to me from my dad back in the day, staying
- 19:50Speaker 5: out of the training room and all those different things.
- 19:52Speaker 5: So you know, I still always have heard that voice
- 19:55Speaker 5: in my head. But man, I take a lot of
- 19:57Speaker 5: pride in that. You know, I want to I want
- 19:58Speaker 5: to be out there for my guys, man, and that's
- 19:59Speaker 5: the that's kind of what's really important to me and
- 20:01Speaker 5: always on my minor heart.
- 20:02Speaker 1: You face Jacksonville on Monday Night football. This is a
- 20:05Speaker 1: team that you've beat in the playoffs last year on
- 20:07Speaker 1: your way to a Super Bowl ring with Kansas City.
- 20:09Speaker 1: What did the Jaguars show you in that playoff game.
- 20:12Speaker 5: I mean, they're a great football team, man, and you know,
- 20:14Speaker 5: there's still somewhat young, I want to say, but they're
- 20:17Speaker 5: They've got good veteran leadership and the guys that they
- 20:19Speaker 5: have out there. This is a really good defense. It's
- 20:21Speaker 5: a really good defensive line, and I think they do
- 20:23Speaker 5: a great job playing together, playing for each other. You know,
- 20:27Speaker 5: Doug Peterson and everything that he is man as a
- 20:29Speaker 5: head coach is amazing, you know. I mean obviously super
- 20:31Speaker 5: Bowl winning coach, so you know, man, he's a guy
- 20:34Speaker 5: that's also been around a game a lot. So they
- 20:36Speaker 5: just they've got a great camaraderie. They play really well together, man,
- 20:39Speaker 5: and we're gonna have our hands.
- 20:40Speaker 1: For Jacksonville's defense is number four in the league at
- 20:44Speaker 1: stopping the run. They're not that high in sacks so
- 20:47Speaker 1: far this year.
- 20:48Speaker 5: Which is really strange because they're really good at what
- 20:51Speaker 5: they do.
- 20:52Speaker 1: I was wondering if it's more of a like hard
- 20:54Speaker 1: to push around defensive front as opposed to a fly
- 20:57Speaker 1: up the field and get after the quarterback defense in front.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Is that the case?
- 21:01Speaker 5: Yeah, I just you know, running the ball, stopping to run.
- 21:05Speaker 5: It's all mindset, and they've got the mindset. They've also
- 21:08Speaker 5: got the body types as well, you know, with their
- 21:10Speaker 5: interior guys that they have and how strong they are,
- 21:12Speaker 5: how well they play, you know, but they're defense man
- 21:16Speaker 5: that obviously. Man, they take a lot of pride in that,
- 21:18Speaker 5: and you know, for them to be eight and three,
- 21:21Speaker 5: I'm not sure how all of their games have been,
- 21:23Speaker 5: but I imagine there's been a lot of games for
- 21:25Speaker 5: them where they've got the lead, you know what I mean.
- 21:27Speaker 5: So it's you know, they're seeing a lot more passing situations,
- 21:30Speaker 5: and you would imagine that they would have more sacks
- 21:32Speaker 5: than you know, being fourth in the league and stopping
- 21:35Speaker 5: to run. But I mean, as I said, man, this
- 21:37Speaker 5: is a this is a tough group and you know,
- 21:39Speaker 5: you could tell they play with a really big chip
- 21:40Speaker 5: on their shoulder.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Final thing, for Orlando Brown junior Willie Anderson made the
- 21:45Speaker 1: list of semi finalist for the Pro Football Hall of
- 21:48Speaker 1: Fame for the fourth year in a row. You tweeted
- 21:50Speaker 1: in favor of his candidacy earlier this week. Was he
- 21:54Speaker 1: one of the guys that you studied when you were young?
- 21:56Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 21:56Speaker 5: Man, definitely. You know, I think what makes theme a
- 21:59Speaker 5: Hall of Famers, you know, being one of the best
- 22:01Speaker 5: in the world at what you do for a certain
- 22:02Speaker 5: period of time. And I mean he's like a four
- 22:04Speaker 5: time All Pro if I'm not mistaken, right, And you
- 22:07Speaker 5: know that's that in his self. I mean speaks to
- 22:10Speaker 5: the type of player he was in his heyday. And
- 22:12Speaker 5: you know, I personally feel like, man, he's very deserving,
- 22:15Speaker 5: you know, for you turn on the film and look
- 22:18Speaker 5: at his film, then you know what I mean, And
- 22:19Speaker 5: look at the guys he was shutting down and playing
- 22:22Speaker 5: really well against. Although he wasn't on the best teams
- 22:24Speaker 5: here in Cincinnati. I mean, he was a great player
- 22:27Speaker 5: and truly one of the best right tackles ever played.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Again, appreciate your time as always, best of luck against
- 22:32Speaker 1: the Jags, So I appreciate you. One thing that could
- 22:35Speaker 1: help Willie's chances this year is the fact that the
- 22:38Speaker 1: only other offensive lineman on the list of semi finalists
- 22:41Speaker 1: is former New Orleans guard joh Ree Evans, a great
- 22:45Speaker 1: player obviously, but not a tackle and not a household
- 22:49Speaker 1: name over the past two years. Willie lost out to
- 22:52Speaker 1: fellow tackles Tony Basselli and Joe Thomas. The Bengals Booth

- 23:19Speaker 1: this week's Know the Faux Segment. Doug Peterson has done
- 23:23Speaker 1: such a great job since taking over in Jacksonville that
- 23:26Speaker 1: you almost forget that Urban Meyer was the Jags coach
- 23:30Speaker 1: just two years ago when the team went three and fourteen.
- 23:35Speaker 1: I asked Gene Fournett from the Florida Times Union to
- 23:38Speaker 1: explain how Peterson turned the franchise around so quickly when
- 23:43Speaker 1: he joined Dave Lapham and me. This week on the
- 23:45Speaker 1: Bengals Game, plan show.
- 23:48Speaker 3: Well, I think, you know, it certainly helps when you
- 23:52Speaker 3: when you come into a locker room that was as
- 23:57Speaker 3: abysmal and sour as what Urban Meyer left in that
- 24:03Speaker 3: locker room, and you come in and you've got a
- 24:04Speaker 3: Super Bowl ring and you've you know, you've taken, you've
- 24:08Speaker 3: taken and built a team into a Super Bowl champion.
- 24:10Speaker 3: That gives you, that gives you a lot of credibility
- 24:13Speaker 3: for starters. And Doug is just he's just created a
- 24:18Speaker 3: culture in which, you know, he's gotten all the players
- 24:23Speaker 3: to buy into the you know, the team first mentality
- 24:25Speaker 3: that that he's created. So granted it sounds very cliche,
- 24:29Speaker 3: but that's what he's done. He's gotten He's gotten players
- 24:33Speaker 3: to put egos aside and not worry about their own
- 24:37Speaker 3: stats and just worry about winning. And once the Jaguars
- 24:42Speaker 3: did what they did last year, you know, going from
- 24:45Speaker 3: three to seven to winning I believe six of their
- 24:49Speaker 3: last uh their last seven games, five in a row,
- 24:53Speaker 3: and then and then coming back from twenty seven down
- 24:56Speaker 3: to beat the Chargers in the first round of the
- 24:58Speaker 3: playoffs and you know, kind of going toe to toe
- 25:01Speaker 3: with the Chiefs for the most part. In the follow up,
- 25:05Speaker 3: playoff game. You know that that that goes a long way.
- 25:09Speaker 3: And then you come into this season and now you've
- 25:11Speaker 3: got players who are not only have a belief because
- 25:15Speaker 3: of what they did last year, but they're all you know,
- 25:17Speaker 3: a lot of them are you know, a lot of
- 25:18Speaker 3: them are the particularly the skilled players and Trevor Lawrence.
- 25:21Speaker 3: They're in the second year of Doug system, so you know,
- 25:24Speaker 3: they don't have the same learning curve coming into this
- 25:27Speaker 3: year that they had last year. So so now all
- 25:31Speaker 3: of a sudden, you've got a team that you know
- 25:33Speaker 3: is eight and three and you know, has got probably
- 25:37Speaker 3: as good a chance as anybody in the AFC except
- 25:42Speaker 3: maybe the Chiefs, to secure the number one seed. I
- 25:45Speaker 3: mean that, you know, I'm getting a little ahead of
- 25:47Speaker 3: the head of ahead of things here a little bit.
- 25:49Speaker 3: But if the Jaguars take care of business Monday night
- 25:52Speaker 3: against the Bengals and then on the road against the Browns,
- 25:55Speaker 3: which I think will be a little tougher to do,
- 25:57Speaker 3: you know that that that game with the raven in
- 26:00Speaker 3: two weeks could either be for the number one or
- 26:02Speaker 3: the number two seed. And number two seed is important too,
- 26:05Speaker 3: because you could get to two home playoff games as
- 26:08Speaker 3: the number two seed if you win your if you
- 26:10Speaker 3: win your first playoff.
- 26:10Speaker 6: Game, absolutely no question about that. So what about the
- 26:15Speaker 6: offensive line? How how big of is Walker Little? They're
- 26:19Speaker 6: talking about him moving out there to left tackle if
- 26:22Speaker 6: Robinson can't go. And what about other Are there any
- 26:26Speaker 6: other injuries of note any other position group or is
- 26:28Speaker 6: it mostly in the old line?
- 26:31Speaker 3: Well, I mean, first of all, Cam Robinson is on
- 26:34Speaker 3: injured reserve, so he's not going to be eligible to
- 26:35Speaker 3: play for He won't be back for another three to
- 26:39Speaker 3: six weeks, depending on depending on how his knee heals. Okay,
- 26:43Speaker 3: so he's gone. Walker Little is going to be the
- 26:44Speaker 3: left tackle Ezra Cleveland guard that they acquired at the
- 26:48Speaker 3: trade deadline from the Minnesota Vikings. He has gone into
- 26:51Speaker 3: Walker Little's left guard spots.
- 26:53Speaker 6: Okay.
- 26:54Speaker 3: So other than that offensive line, they're pretty healthy until
- 26:58Speaker 3: Cam went down. The other significant injury in recent weeks
- 27:02Speaker 3: has been the starting cornerback, Tyson Campbell, who's had hamstring issues.
- 27:08Speaker 3: And you know, we'll find out more tomorrow from Doug
- 27:14Speaker 3: to get an update on whether Tyson's going to be
- 27:16Speaker 3: available on Monday night, I'd be I'd be guessing on
- 27:21Speaker 3: his availability because i thought he was going to make
- 27:23Speaker 3: it back last week and he didn't. So as as
- 27:27Speaker 3: as you know from day from your playing days, hamstrings
- 27:29Speaker 3: can be very iffy, and particularly for someone who has
- 27:33Speaker 3: to you know, has to has to be running around
- 27:36Speaker 3: a lot of cornerback, a receiver hamstring or running back
- 27:39Speaker 3: hamstrings are are everything. So but other than that, those
- 27:44Speaker 3: are really the the most significant injury issues. So there's,
- 27:49Speaker 3: as you know, this time of the year, that's going
- 27:51Speaker 3: to happen, and you know, unfortunately nobody knows more about,
- 27:56Speaker 3: you know, the biggest injuries than the Beast Bengals because
- 28:00Speaker 3: losing Joe Burrow just changes everything about the Bengals.
- 28:05Speaker 1: You've got that right. We are visiting the Gene Fournett
- 28:07Speaker 1: from the Florida Times Union. The Jags have three losses.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Nobody in the AFC has few er. The Ravens, Chiefs
- 28:13Speaker 1: and Dolphins also have three. So Jacksonville is clearly in
- 28:17Speaker 1: contention to be the AFC representative in the Super Bowl.
- 28:20Speaker 1: But they had that game three weeks ago where they
- 28:22Speaker 1: lost by thirty one to San fran Was that just
- 28:25Speaker 1: a perfect storm kind of day? The forty nine ers
- 28:28Speaker 1: had a losing streak. They were coming off of bye
- 28:30Speaker 1: and and everything that could go wrong went wrong.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Well, the Jaguars are coming off of buye that week
- 28:36Speaker 3: as well, so you know, so they had they had
- 28:38Speaker 3: the same benefit that the forty nine ers did. You know.
- 28:42Speaker 3: I would say more than anything, I think the matchup
- 28:45Speaker 3: was bad for the Jaguars. I think the forty nine
- 28:48Speaker 3: ers defensive front versus the Jaguars offensive line was a
- 28:54Speaker 3: little bit of a mismatch. But what made that score
- 28:56Speaker 3: so bad, as you know, which happens in a lot
- 28:58Speaker 3: of games, is when you have a minus for turnover ratio,
- 29:01Speaker 3: you know that's going to tend to widen the gap, yep,
- 29:05Speaker 3: in terms of the scoring margin. And that was that
- 29:08Speaker 3: was the case there forty Hey, listen, forty nine Ers played, played,
- 29:11Speaker 3: played really really well that day. Deserve to win. Jaguars
- 29:15Speaker 3: deserve to get blown out. Had four turnovers. But as
- 29:18Speaker 3: you know, this is the NF the NFL is a
- 29:20Speaker 3: week to week league. It's it's really hard to gauge
- 29:23Speaker 3: how good the forty nine ers are based on just
- 29:27Speaker 3: that game, or how suspect the Jaguars might be as
- 29:31Speaker 3: a Super Bowl contender based on that game. I would
- 29:36Speaker 3: say that game said more about the strength and Super
- 29:44Speaker 3: Bowl potential of the forty nine ers than it did
- 29:47Speaker 3: about the Jaguars.
- 29:50Speaker 6: So continuing along the turnover line, minus four, yeah, you're
- 29:55Speaker 6: not going to the percentages of winning that game or nil.
- 30:00Speaker 6: Team fumbles offensively tied for fifth most in the league
- 30:04Speaker 6: and lost eleven of them, which is second most in
- 30:06Speaker 6: the league. A little bit diceing in ball security. Have
- 30:11Speaker 6: those coming bunches? I mean, has it been like, Okay,
- 30:13Speaker 6: San Francisco is four turner where the like? Have there
- 30:16Speaker 6: been multiple games where it's been like three four turnovers
- 30:19Speaker 6: or has it been a perpetual problem from a fumbling standpoint, I.
- 30:24Speaker 3: Would say it's been hit or miss. They've had games
- 30:26Speaker 3: where they've done really good job of taking care of
- 30:28Speaker 3: the ball and other games where that has not happened.
- 30:31Speaker 3: The first Houston game, I believe there were minus two
- 30:34Speaker 3: in turnover ratio. I mean, it's not like, listen, it's
- 30:37Speaker 3: not like the Jaguars are you know, their turnover margins
- 30:41Speaker 3: certainly not not bad because they were you know, they
- 30:44Speaker 3: lead the they lead the NFL and takeaways, so their
- 30:46Speaker 3: defense has been making up for it off you know, offsetting,
- 30:50Speaker 3: right whatever, whatever, Travail's the offense has had and Trevor
- 30:55Speaker 3: Lawrence has four of those fumbles, by the way, He's
- 30:57Speaker 3: has seven in all, but he's lost, right, So this
- 31:02Speaker 3: is something that pops up at times. I would not
- 31:06Speaker 3: say it's a consistent every week thing that would be
- 31:09Speaker 3: that would be misleading. But I mean, to me, the
- 31:12Speaker 3: bigger concern for the Jaguars is just getting is keeping
- 31:16Speaker 3: the chains moving on third down. They've had issues with
- 31:20Speaker 3: third down efficiency most of the season. Now, they did
- 31:22Speaker 3: really well last week, I guess the Texans. They converted
- 31:25Speaker 3: seven of thirteen first downs, but I think I think
- 31:29Speaker 3: that game in Buffalo are the only two games where
- 31:31Speaker 3: the Jaguars have had at least fifty percent conversion on
- 31:34Speaker 3: third down. They're basically about right around thirty five thirty
- 31:37Speaker 3: six percent and have been ranked in the you know,
- 31:41Speaker 3: in the twenties all year on third down efficiency, which
- 31:44Speaker 3: is a little bit of a concern because you've got
- 31:46Speaker 3: some really good weapons on the outside and Christian Kirk,
- 31:50Speaker 3: Calvin Ridley, tight end, Evin Ingram, and you've got a
- 31:55Speaker 3: really really quality back in Travis Travis etn So when
- 31:59Speaker 3: you had that many good skill players and you've got
- 32:01Speaker 3: a quarterback with the arm talent of Trevor Lawrence, you
- 32:04Speaker 3: should be converting on third down more than thirty seven
- 32:06Speaker 3: percent at the time. But that hasn't happened, and that's
- 32:10Speaker 3: got to That has got to get better, because I
- 32:12Speaker 3: just don't think you can win in the postseason without
- 32:15Speaker 3: being able to move a change a little bit better
- 32:18Speaker 3: than that.
- 32:20Speaker 6: Finally, I appreciate you carving the time that you have
- 32:22Speaker 6: for us. Defensively, units playing pretty darn well. I mean, boy,
- 32:26Speaker 6: the fourth in the NFL stopping the run they've got
- 32:31Speaker 6: you know, Allen has got twelve quarterback sacks. Walkers a problem.
- 32:35Speaker 6: On the other side of things, they've both got over
- 32:39Speaker 6: thirty pressures quarterback pressures. The only team that has a
- 32:42Speaker 6: defensive duo with that kind of pressure in the in
- 32:46Speaker 6: the in the stats I was looking at overall, are
- 32:51Speaker 6: they surprised at the level of play of the defense
- 32:55Speaker 6: or is it pretty much up to expectation.
- 33:00Speaker 1: You see a.
- 33:01Speaker 3: Little bit better than a lot of people thought when
- 33:03Speaker 3: the season began. I didn't I didn't think the I
- 33:06Speaker 3: didn't think the defense was going to be as it
- 33:09Speaker 3: was going to be as I don't want to say
- 33:11Speaker 3: stout because they are ranked twentieth in the NFL overall, right,
- 33:14Speaker 3: they're fourth against the run, but it's the takeaways that's
- 33:18Speaker 3: that's the key, is that, you know, they give up
- 33:21Speaker 3: yards and particularly unpassing, right, I mean, they're the Jaguars
- 33:24Speaker 3: are twenty eighth in the league in pass defense with
- 33:27Speaker 3: two hundred and fifty five yards, So they're giving up yards.
- 33:30Speaker 3: What they're not giving up is a lot of touchdowns
- 33:33Speaker 3: because they're either holding teams to field goals or they're
- 33:36Speaker 3: getting takeaways. So you know, that's what that's what's been
- 33:41Speaker 3: probably the biggest factor in the Jaguars being eight and
- 33:44Speaker 3: three is that. And I and you know, and I
- 33:48Speaker 3: might add this, I'm I was really surprised today to
- 33:52Speaker 3: find out that the Bengals are thirty first in the
- 33:54Speaker 3: league in total defense and twenty ninth against the run,
- 33:58Speaker 3: twenty six against the pass. I mean, when you see
- 34:01Speaker 3: numbers like that, those are the kind of numbers you
- 34:03Speaker 3: see from a team that's like three and eight or
- 34:07Speaker 3: two and nine. But somehow the Bengals with the twenty
- 34:11Speaker 3: seventh ranked offense, thirty second rank run offense, thirty one,
- 34:16Speaker 3: twenty nine, twenty six across the board on defense is
- 34:19Speaker 3: five and six.
- 34:20Speaker 6: You know what, it's the same You.
- 34:22Speaker 3: Could make an argument that they came close to being
- 34:25Speaker 3: they came close to being seven and four.
- 34:27Speaker 6: It's the same thing. You got twenty takeaways down there
- 34:30Speaker 6: in Jacksonville. The Bengals have nineteen. You know, you've held
- 34:34Speaker 6: the opponent without a point in the red zone seven times,
- 34:37Speaker 6: which is top five in the league. The Bengals have
- 34:39Speaker 6: done at eight times, which is tied for best in
- 34:42Speaker 6: the league. So takeaways, you know, not giving up points
- 34:45Speaker 6: and holding them to field goals. It's the same same
- 34:48Speaker 6: type of formula that you just described for Jacksonville. That's
- 34:51Speaker 6: why the Bengals are where they're at.
- 34:53Speaker 3: It's crazy well, you know, and also you have to
- 34:57Speaker 3: factor in that if Burrow hadn't gotten her the Bengals
- 35:01Speaker 3: could easily be eaten three right now, right But he's
- 35:03Speaker 3: been gone for Was this the third game he was gone?
- 35:06Speaker 1: No, he's missed a game and a half. Essentially, he
- 35:09Speaker 1: got injured in the second quarter of the Baltimore game.
- 35:11Speaker 1: But keep in mind he wasn't healthy for the first
- 35:13Speaker 1: four games of the year. So they had a healthy
- 35:15Speaker 1: Joe Burrow for about five games and went four and one.
- 35:19Speaker 6: Yeah, the first month of the season month since he
- 35:23Speaker 6: got hurt. So well, the first month of the season
- 35:26Speaker 6: he was playing hurt, he was a statue. I mean,
- 35:28Speaker 6: he could not move. It was it was kind of
- 35:31Speaker 6: sad to watch, really.
- 35:33Speaker 3: Yeah, and and and quite frankly, that's gonna. I mean,
- 35:37Speaker 3: I don't you know, I would say, I just what
- 35:39Speaker 3: little I've observed of Jake Browning. He's a serviceable backup
- 35:43Speaker 3: quarterback by by NFL standards. You know, he's not the
- 35:47Speaker 3: best backup in the league. Not the worst, yep. But
- 35:50Speaker 3: you know, listen, I mean, you're gonna you're gonna have
- 35:53Speaker 3: in most cases, you're gonna have a drop off from
- 35:55Speaker 3: your starting quarterback. If you don't have a drop off
- 35:58Speaker 3: from your starting quarterback to your back, it probably means
- 36:00Speaker 3: you don't have a very good starget to begin. But
- 36:05Speaker 3: but I mean, Joe Burrow, in my view, when he's right,
- 36:09Speaker 3: when he's healthy and right, is easily a top three
- 36:12Speaker 3: or four quarterback in the league. It's just, you know,
- 36:17Speaker 3: I'll be honest, I I I hate it when I
- 36:20Speaker 3: when I see stars go out and get injured like that.
- 36:24Speaker 3: You know, I mean, this game Monday night would have
- 36:26Speaker 3: so much more juice to it if Joe Burrow was
- 36:29Speaker 3: out there. I want to see Joe Burrow go against
- 36:31Speaker 3: Trevor Lawrence. That's what I want to see, you know.
- 36:34Speaker 3: And I mean no, no disrespect to Jake Browning, but uh,
- 36:38Speaker 3: you know, I mean it'd be much bigger feather in
- 36:41Speaker 3: the Jaguars cap if they were to beat Joe Burrow
- 36:43Speaker 3: than if they beat Joe Jake Browning. And then they've
- 36:45Speaker 3: got the same break next week when they go to Cleveland.
- 36:47Speaker 3: There's no Deshaun Watson there. So all of a sudden,
- 36:50Speaker 3: this NF this AFC North Gauntlet that the Jaguars that
- 36:55Speaker 3: everybody had the Jaguars face, you know, dealing with Cincinnati
- 37:00Speaker 3: on Monday night, then Cleveland on the road, and then
- 37:03Speaker 3: uh Baltimore, Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night, who are without
- 37:07Speaker 3: tight end mirk Mark Andrews. Well, that dauntlet isn't as
- 37:10Speaker 3: daunting anymore. Right, So the Jaguars aren't good ship. They
- 37:15Speaker 3: got the second easiest amongst all the AFC contenders. They
- 37:18Speaker 3: have the second easiest schedule remaining.
- 37:21Speaker 6: And the Bengals don't.
- 37:24Speaker 3: Thirty and thirty and thirty seven and the next and
- 37:27Speaker 3: the easiest schedule. It belongs to the Chiefs twenty seven
- 37:30Speaker 3: and forty one combined record of their opponents.
- 37:32Speaker 6: And every opponent remaining for the Bengals on their schedule
- 37:35Speaker 6: has a winning record, just the opposite.
- 37:38Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, you know, no, Cincinnati. Cincinnati is not. I mean,
- 37:42Speaker 3: it would take an absolute miracle for them to sneak
- 37:45Speaker 3: in and maybe snatch that last wild card spot. I mean,
- 37:49Speaker 3: it's just it's a shame. But you know, that's that's football,
- 37:53Speaker 3: that's the attrition of the game. And in my opinion,
- 37:58Speaker 3: the twenty twenty three season will when you pick out
- 38:00Speaker 3: the worst injury, unless something happens to either Lamar or
- 38:04Speaker 3: Patrick Mahomes, that one's the worst one.
- 38:08Speaker 1: Jags are favored by eight and a half on Monday Night.
