Speaker 1: I am Sherry Mackie at its time, right now for
• 0:03
Speaker 1: today's word. Chosen before you were seen, chosen before you
• 0:11
Speaker 1: were seen first. Samuel sixteen and ten says Jesse had
• 0:15
Speaker 1: seven of his sons passed before Samuel. But Samuel said
• 0:20
Speaker 1: to him, the Lord has not chosen these. You know.
• 0:26
Speaker 1: When the prophet Samuel arrived at Jesse's home to anoint
• 0:29
Speaker 1: the next king of Israel, Jesse confidently presented seven of
• 0:34
Speaker 1: his sons, one by one day passed before Samuel, strong, capable,
• 0:40
Speaker 1: and pressive by outward standards. That is, surely one of
• 0:45
Speaker 1: these had to be God's choice. But after each son passed,
• 0:51
Speaker 1: Samuel said the same thing, the Lord has not chosen
• 0:57
Speaker 1: this one. What Jesse did didn't realize is that God
• 1:02
Speaker 1: was already looking beyond what human eyes could see. David,
• 1:07
Speaker 1: the youngest son, wasn't even invited into the room. He
• 1:11
Speaker 1: was out ten into the sheep, doing his daily responsibilities,
• 1:15
Speaker 1: overlooked and underestimated. Jesse had already decided David didn't qualify.
• 1:23
Speaker 1: Jesse had already decided David was too young, too small,
• 1:27
Speaker 1: too ordinary. But people don't get the final say over
• 1:31
Speaker 1: your life. God does. When Samuel asks are these all
• 1:36
Speaker 1: the sons you have? Jesse reluctantly mentioned David. And when
• 1:41
Speaker 1: David entered the room, God made it clear, rise and
• 1:44
Speaker 1: anoint him. This is the one. In a moment, everything changed.
• 1:51
Speaker 1: David was counted out by people, but already counted in
• 1:56
Speaker 1: by God. Come own, Jesus. You may recognize that feeling.
• 2:03
Speaker 1: Maybe you've been overlooked. Maybe you've been passed over. Maybe
• 2:07
Speaker 1: you've been dismissed. Someone didn't see your potential. A door
• 2:11
Speaker 1: closed in your face unexpectedly, a voice you trusted said
• 2:15
Speaker 1: you're not good enough. But when people leave you out,
• 2:19
Speaker 1: it does not cancel the calling of God on your life.
• 2:22
Speaker 1: When others underestimate you, it doesn't reduce what God has
• 2:27
Speaker 1: placed on your life. Like David, you don't have to
• 2:30
Speaker 1: fight to be chosen. You don't have to prove yourself
• 2:33
Speaker 1: to anyone. God sees your heart. God sees your faithfulness,
• 2:39
Speaker 1: the quiet obedience that everybody else overlooks. You stay in peace,
• 2:44
Speaker 1: You keep doing the right thing, even when it feels unseen.
• 2:47
Speaker 1: The same God who called David from the field knows
• 2:50
Speaker 1: exactly where you are, and he knows when it's time
• 2:53
Speaker 1: to call you forward. What God has promised you will
• 2:59
Speaker 1: not miss you. At the right moment, he'll bring you
• 3:03
Speaker 1: into the room, he'll set you a party, and he'll
• 3:05
Speaker 1: make it clear that you were chosen all alone. Come own,
• 3:10
Speaker 1: Jesus Father, thank you that you see us completely and
• 3:13
Speaker 1: that you have the final say over our lives when
• 3:16
Speaker 1: others overlook us or count us out. Help us to
• 3:19
Speaker 1: remain faithful and at peace. God, we trusted what you
• 3:23
Speaker 1: have promised will come to pass in your perfect time.
• 3:26
Speaker 1: And God, we believe that we are chosen, that we
• 3:28
Speaker 1: are called, and that we are counted in by you
• 3:32
Speaker 1: in Jesus's name. Hey, that's your word for today. Take
• 3:36
Speaker 1: it applied to your everyday life and you continue to
• 3:38
Speaker 1: be encouraged and inspired. It's a party all the radio
• 3:41
Speaker 1: with you in mind, your early morning praise party with me,
• 3:43
Speaker 1: your girls. Sherry Mackie
