- 0:02Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. That's your favorite time
- 0:05Speaker 1: of week.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Download the Crazy She gets you something to drink and
- 0:08Speaker 2: you get ready to listen to market Scotty talk about
- 0:10Speaker 2: some college football. I'm remember in the podcasting studio and
- 0:14Speaker 2: my man Scott is traveling through time in the great
- 0:17Speaker 2: state of Mississippi.
- 0:18Speaker 3: How are you, brother, man? I am good. I'm five
- 0:22Speaker 3: top for so fast enough.
- 0:25Speaker 4: That is a great because it is very it is
- 0:29Speaker 4: very accurate.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Yes, Mississippi is the only place where you can get
- 0:36Speaker 2: a cell phone call, see a lynching, and you might
- 0:38Speaker 2: see a dinosaur or sleeve stack all on the same trip.
- 0:41Speaker 1: It's amazing.
- 0:48Speaker 3: Was that not great?
- 0:48Speaker 1: Yeah? What about the Simmies?
- 0:51Speaker 3: Man? I thought I thought. I thought we were right
- 0:53Speaker 3: on the money is the first.
- 0:55Speaker 4: Thing on both those On both those games, I did
- 1:00Speaker 4: think Texas held up a little better than I thought
- 1:02Speaker 4: they were going to that on the defensive side of
- 1:06Speaker 4: the ball. They lost that ball game because of exactly
- 1:09Speaker 4: what we said. They're inconsistent. What was that play call
- 1:13Speaker 4: from Sarkisian on second down? You're in a run blitz
- 1:17Speaker 4: situation at the one foot line.
- 1:20Speaker 3: What are you doing running a toss?
- 1:22Speaker 4: I mean that has got to go down as one
- 1:25Speaker 4: of the worst play calls in the history of college football.
- 1:27Speaker 2: In that situation, yeah, you've got to be a true
- 1:33Speaker 2: college football nerd to realize how awkward that play call was.
- 1:36Speaker 2: And I kind of wonder if he ran it thinking
- 1:40Speaker 2: that wasn't what they thought they were going to get
- 1:41Speaker 2: and he was going to get him sprung outside. But
- 1:44Speaker 2: the difference is, and you and I talked about this
- 1:46Speaker 2: is since they've moved Caleb downs into that position and
- 1:50Speaker 2: they've got Hitchcock at that other safety, Downds is playing
- 1:53Speaker 2: somewhere between a mic linebacker, a strong safety, a nickel,
- 1:57Speaker 2: and a rover.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I mean, the guy's everywhere, he's ever and he's he's
- 2:01Speaker 1: so hard to block.
- 2:02Speaker 2: And if you go back and you watch that play,
- 2:06Speaker 2: where the breakdown is it is he gets behind the
- 2:09Speaker 2: tackle and he just scrapes and he follows behind the
- 2:12Speaker 2: tackle and then able to close and make the tackle,
- 2:15Speaker 2: and it's just, yeah, it was a great play. And
- 2:18Speaker 2: then you got freaking Jack Sawyer is going to go
- 2:22Speaker 2: down to Ohio State legend. I mean, the guy's kind
- 2:24Speaker 2: of you know, all American coming out of high schools
- 2:27Speaker 2: had a good career, but never really been great.
- 2:30Speaker 3: The guy, yes.
- 2:35Speaker 1: The football playoffs.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Just crazy, I mean, just a just a great story
- 2:42Speaker 3: all the way around. Sawyers.
- 2:43Speaker 4: Also the guy who was out there not on my
- 2:46Speaker 4: field after the Michigan game, you know, really really ticked off,
- 2:50Speaker 4: and he has played like a skulled dog the last
- 2:52Speaker 4: three games.
- 2:53Speaker 3: I mean the Michigan game lit a fire under him
- 2:57Speaker 3: and a little fire under this team. It's don't you
- 3:01Speaker 3: wonder if this has taught day a lesson just man,
- 3:05Speaker 3: just go if you lose swinging, great, but go out swinging.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Don't don't go out like you did against Michigan just
- 3:15Speaker 3: being conservative and being scared to loose, go down swinging.
- 3:19Speaker 3: I mean, I certainly hope that's what it's taught Hi.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Because they're playing like the ability level they've had all year.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it's gonna be fascinating. I think either one of
- 3:29Speaker 2: these teams to win. I mean, you're sitting on a
- 3:32Speaker 2: thirty to thirty.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Wait that happen.
- 3:34Speaker 2: You've got an Ohio State team that comes in the
- 3:36Speaker 2: season right Number one. All we heard about is their
- 3:40Speaker 2: twenty nine million dollar plus roster. They lose that game
- 3:43Speaker 2: to Oregon, and they lose to Michigan. The entire fan
- 3:46Speaker 2: base one's and fired going crazy at the end of
- 3:49Speaker 2: the season, and then here they're going to come and
- 3:51Speaker 2: they just barnstorm the playoffs and come all the way through.
- 3:54Speaker 2: So that's their side of it. You've got a Notre
- 3:57Speaker 2: Dame team that hasn't won the Natty since Lou Holtz coach,
- 4:00Speaker 2: and the last time they played in it, they got
- 4:01Speaker 2: the doors blown off when they played Alabama and.
- 4:04Speaker 1: They lose to Northern Illinois. Week three. Are we two?
- 4:09Speaker 1: Now here they are in the championship game, and they've and.
- 4:13Speaker 2: They've played well, I mean really well. It's hard for
- 4:16Speaker 2: me to argue that they're not the second best team
- 4:18Speaker 2: when you've watched it go down on the field.
- 4:21Speaker 4: Yeah, you know what, they've been really really good, and
- 4:26Speaker 4: especially after that win with you know, at because I
- 4:32Speaker 4: said this going into it, that win at Texas A
- 4:34Speaker 4: and M turned out to be a very very good win,
- 4:37Speaker 4: and especially the way they did it, and I think
- 4:40Speaker 4: people discounted them because they turned right around and lost
- 4:43Speaker 4: to Northern Illinois. And as we said last week, there's
- 4:46Speaker 4: two wins against the Service academies have turned out to
- 4:48Speaker 4: be great wins that nobody's given them that, nobody gave
- 4:52Speaker 4: them credit for. This is just a good team. I mean,
- 4:55Speaker 4: they're a good team, and what they are is really
- 4:57Speaker 4: well coached. But Mark, we've talked about this one hundred
- 5:00Speaker 4: times with all the transfers, this team's here mainly because
- 5:07Speaker 4: it's not a roster full of transfers. What have they
- 5:09Speaker 4: got thirteen on the roster? Isn't that right? I think
- 5:13Speaker 4: they've got thirteen transfers on that Notre Dame roster. But
- 5:17Speaker 4: you've got kids that are in their fifth and sixth
- 5:19Speaker 4: year that have grown up want to play at Notre Dame.
- 5:22Speaker 4: They're not remotely one of the six seven most talented
- 5:27Speaker 4: teams in the country, but they're playing together and playing well.
- 5:31Speaker 4: It's a fascinating story, right, both these stories could be
- 5:34Speaker 4: thirty for thirties. But I'm gonna tell you something, it's
- 5:37Speaker 4: impossible to like a coach more than I like Marcus Freeman.
- 5:41Speaker 3: He's doing everything, He's doing everything right.
- 5:43Speaker 4: I mean, look, I love that guy when he got hired,
- 5:45Speaker 4: loved him when he was at when he was at Cincinnati.
- 5:48Speaker 4: The guy's just doing everything right, and he's impossible not
- 5:52Speaker 4: to cheer for, even when he gets lobbed up. You know,
- 5:56Speaker 4: a question that could easily be divisive in the post
- 6:00Speaker 4: game about you know, him being the first black coach
- 6:04Speaker 4: in a national championship.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Blah blah, blah blah.
- 6:06Speaker 4: Just a fabulous answer talking about his team. Just everything
- 6:10Speaker 4: that guy does is right and it's really really kind
- 6:14Speaker 4: of kind of fun to kind of fun to watch,
- 6:17Speaker 4: you know, a job that they said, oh, you can't
- 6:19Speaker 4: win anymore. And it's interesting that here they are with
- 6:23Speaker 4: a bunch of kids who play and play their career out,
- 6:26Speaker 4: don't do a ton of transferring. Are they going to
- 6:29Speaker 4: be back in the limelight because you look at these
- 6:32Speaker 4: final four it's blue blood Central. I mean yeah, the
- 6:37Speaker 4: blue bloods, I mean just straight blue bloods. Final four
- 6:41Speaker 4: are truly blue bloods. And it's it's just interesting to
- 6:46Speaker 4: me how this is going to shake out. You know, obviously,
- 6:50Speaker 4: the Big Ten is clearly proven. They were the best
- 6:52Speaker 4: team in the best league in the country this year
- 6:55Speaker 4: and that's not even debatable. You know, is there are
- 7:00Speaker 4: things that evening out because it's certainly not money thing
- 7:03Speaker 4: with all those big schools, just how big the schools
- 7:05Speaker 4: are and the people if they get every booster given
- 7:09Speaker 4: fifty bucks. They're going to have a gigantic an aisle
- 7:12Speaker 4: just from a number standpoint. So are things, you know,
- 7:15Speaker 4: Notre Dame being the exception of that, obviously being a
- 7:17Speaker 4: small school. But it's just fascinating to me how things
- 7:21Speaker 4: are going to shake out. Texas has wandered in the
- 7:23Speaker 4: wilderness and boom these last two years when Sarkesian and
- 7:27Speaker 4: they're right back where they've always wanted to be. But
- 7:30Speaker 4: can they can they get over the threshold next year?
- 7:33Speaker 4: So it's just a lot of interesting storylines in college sports.
- 7:41Speaker 2: No, I completely agree with you, And I think all
- 7:44Speaker 2: the teams that made it through into this. I think
- 7:47Speaker 2: the teams that made it to the final for the
- 7:49Speaker 2: tournament I could see being strong going forward.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:53Speaker 4: I mean, you've got enough Penn States back, with Singleton back,
- 7:56Speaker 4: you know. I mean, do you know they're going to
- 7:58Speaker 4: be good?
- 7:59Speaker 3: Yeah? Pretty much.
- 8:00Speaker 4: I mean they're losing two first rounders, they're losing Warren
- 8:02Speaker 4: and the Carter, Yeah, Bull Carter, and that's pretty much it,
- 8:07Speaker 4: you know. I mean, they're they're bringing most everybody back
- 8:10Speaker 4: in that offensive football team should be really really good.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Yeah, it shouldn't.
- 8:15Speaker 2: And I mean, if anything, the college Football Playoff?
- 8:19Speaker 1: Did it made me get more excited about next season.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Usually when we get to we get to this.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Point, I'm kind of fatigued because I've watched so much
- 8:28Speaker 2: football and I've read so much football that at the end,
- 8:31Speaker 2: I'm just kind of like I need a break, and
- 8:33Speaker 2: I'm sure I will. You know, once we get done
- 8:36Speaker 2: with the Super Bowl that I'm really excited about it.
- 8:39Speaker 2: I think they'll queak the product. I think the product
- 8:41Speaker 2: is just going to keep getting better. I think they're
- 8:43Speaker 2: going to figure out how to figure out the nuances
- 8:45Speaker 2: with the portal and all that other stuff. So I
- 8:47Speaker 2: just as far as the state of the game goes
- 8:50Speaker 2: as much flux as we've talked about it being in
- 8:52Speaker 2: and what's wrong with it, I think it's headed in
- 8:55Speaker 2: a good direction, just based on the product on the field,
- 8:57Speaker 2: which is my biggest concern is what's on the field.
- 9:00Speaker 2: We got some good play this year. I think next
- 9:02Speaker 2: year we're gonna have even better play. I think the
- 9:05Speaker 2: the parody. I had an argument with the guy the
- 9:07Speaker 2: other day and he was like, oh the sec they're
- 9:09Speaker 2: done now everybody can pay and this, that and the
- 9:11Speaker 2: other and.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Laughable.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Well, and I said.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Look, man, I said, I I understand what you're saying.
- 9:20Speaker 2: I go, you need to understand something I'm not saying.
- 9:22Speaker 2: The SEC is done. I go, Nick Saban left the building.
- 9:26Speaker 2: The SEC can pump their chest all they want to.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Nick Saban won seven national championships. And I said, and
- 9:33Speaker 2: I said, and and the SEC was smart enough to say, hey,
- 9:36Speaker 2: let's get on board and build a better conference around this.
- 9:40Speaker 2: When but Nick Saban left the building, and until you
- 9:43Speaker 2: showed me who that is, I don't know that we're
- 9:46Speaker 2: going to have a dominant, overall dominant conference because the best,
- 9:51Speaker 2: I mean the best to ever do it in my
- 9:53Speaker 2: lifetime walked out of the room. And I think it's
- 9:57Speaker 2: made the whole sport come down a little bit flatter level.
- 10:01Speaker 1: And I am.
- 10:02Speaker 2: I am fascinated to see where we're going to be
- 10:04Speaker 2: two and three and four years, because coaches aren't getting
- 10:08Speaker 2: you get three years, and you can't get a If
- 10:10Speaker 2: you're not eight and four and three years or ten
- 10:13Speaker 2: and two, depending on where you're coaching, you don't have
- 10:16Speaker 2: a job anymore.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Well, and.
- 10:19Speaker 4: Mark, I'll say this about you're talking about the guy
- 10:22Speaker 4: leaving the building and all that, of all the programs
- 10:24Speaker 4: that are there. You know, the guy that's had the
- 10:26Speaker 4: most stability. What team has had the most stability? Oh
- 10:30Speaker 4: hoo of State. Yeah, you got Day there, But then
- 10:35Speaker 4: he was also on staff during the bulk of the
- 10:37Speaker 4: urban mayor run. So I mean it's a that is
- 10:42Speaker 4: a huge factor for them, I believe. And they're one
- 10:46Speaker 4: of the only teams them in Georgia. Of really all
- 10:50Speaker 4: the top ranking teams are the only ones that don't
- 10:52Speaker 4: have coaches that have been there two or three years.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:55Speaker 2: And if you want to talk about a sleeping giant,
- 10:57Speaker 2: I mean you can go look at Texas. I mean,
- 11:00Speaker 2: had him here two years in a row. And all
- 11:03Speaker 2: we've talked about since the back and Brown here ended
- 11:05Speaker 2: was a culture issue, culture issue of cultures. Well, you
- 11:08Speaker 2: don't hear that anymore. I mean, those guys are bought in.
- 11:12Speaker 2: You know, you've got Manning. Manning sat on the bench,
- 11:14Speaker 2: the highest recruited quarterback in that class, sat on the
- 11:17Speaker 2: bench for two years at Texas waiting to play. Yeah,
- 11:20Speaker 2: and you can't get kids to sit on the bench
- 11:23Speaker 2: for five games now and they're.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Ready to transfer.
- 11:26Speaker 2: And so he's obviously fixed the culture issue within Texas
- 11:29Speaker 2: because the team plays physical you know they're getting draft
- 11:33Speaker 2: picks again. I mean all kinds of stuff. So anyway,
- 11:35Speaker 2: that's where we are in the big state of the game.
- 11:37Speaker 2: The only every thing I know you want to talk about,
- 11:39Speaker 2: because I know.
- 11:39Speaker 1: You love politics, and Uncle Joe.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Is retiring come Monday, and on his way out the
- 11:46Speaker 2: door and all the mess of trying to.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Get nil and get people.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Paid and contracts and salaries and how it's gonna work.
- 11:55Speaker 2: What does Uncle Joe do on his way out the
- 11:57Speaker 2: door late Thursday night.
- 11:58Speaker 4: He just goes on and put dynamite on the nil
- 12:02Speaker 4: and says, well, they're technically breaking the law. It should
- 12:07Speaker 4: be a Title nine issue. Can you imagine boosters what
- 12:13Speaker 4: they're gonna say if they if they have to give
- 12:16Speaker 4: out of a twenty two million dollar kiddy, they got
- 12:18Speaker 4: to give eleven you know, they got to give a
- 12:20Speaker 4: ten million of it to female athletes.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Yeah, let's see how that rolls. I mean, the greatest thing.
- 12:27Speaker 4: Of this is that administration can't even identify what the
- 12:30Speaker 4: woman is.
- 12:31Speaker 3: That's the best part of the whole deal.
- 12:33Speaker 4: But from a complete fiasco deal. It'll be fascinating to
- 12:37Speaker 4: see this wind it's way through the courts, you know,
- 12:40Speaker 4: to some to some offensive lineman that's sitting around getting
- 12:43Speaker 4: five hundred bucks a month, be like, I'm trans I need.
- 12:48Speaker 3: I need to be paid. I need to be paid
- 12:50Speaker 3: over here with them, you know, because the scholarship numbers
- 12:53Speaker 3: are so much less.
- 12:55Speaker 4: If they start getting gigantic dollars like that, the girls
- 12:58Speaker 4: gonna be the high paid people on campus.
- 13:00Speaker 3: It's fabulous.
- 13:01Speaker 4: He just threw a big, old, just turd bomb right
- 13:05Speaker 4: in the middle of the college football playoff that is
- 13:09Speaker 4: going to heat up under the next administration. He's just
- 13:12Speaker 4: going out flamethrowing and stuff. I just think he wants
- 13:15Speaker 4: to stay in the news for a while after he's gone.
- 13:18Speaker 3: That is just a complete disaster for every college out there.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Complete disaster.
- 13:26Speaker 2: He's totally Ron Burgundy. It was on the teleprompter and
- 13:30Speaker 2: he just read it. He has no idea what he's
- 13:32Speaker 2: talking about all this stuff. It's like San Diego also
- 13:36Speaker 2: means Wales Vagina.
- 13:38Speaker 1: He has no idea what he's talking about at this point. Yeah, yes,
- 13:41Speaker 1: it's funny. If you want to see women get paid
- 13:44Speaker 1: to play sports.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Tune into the Texas Tech Foo softball team here in
- 13:48Speaker 2: a couple of weeks when the season starts they got
- 13:50Speaker 2: over two million dollars invested in that roster this season alone,
- 13:54Speaker 2: the pitcher's making one point two million dollars. That's exactly
- 13:58Speaker 2: a million dollars. It's crazy, all right, Scotty, let me
- 14:03Speaker 2: break Let me break this game down.
- 14:04Speaker 1: See what we're gonna do. Line's been out there for
- 14:08Speaker 1: a while.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Hang on, let me pull up the most current numbers
- 14:11Speaker 2: that you got. Current numbers on Draftking have. Ohio State
- 14:15Speaker 2: is an eight and a half point favorite over Unders
- 14:18Speaker 2: at forty six and a half.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Ohio State's a minus three sixty on the money line,
- 14:22Speaker 1: whereas Notre.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Dame is a plus two to eighty five. I'll give
- 14:26Speaker 2: you some breakdowns. You've got your big ticket on Notre Dame.
- 14:29Speaker 2: You can talk about how you're gonna play it versus
- 14:31Speaker 2: how you're gonna bet the game. Straight up, When you
- 14:34Speaker 2: look at this game, and I've gone back and watched
- 14:35Speaker 2: the semifinals a couple of times, in both situations, you know,
- 14:39Speaker 2: the one thing I can tell you we are going
- 14:41Speaker 2: to see is physicality.
- 14:42Speaker 1: For both of these teams, both.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Very physical in the trench, both want to run the ball.
- 14:48Speaker 2: But I think you know, if you look at this
- 14:51Speaker 2: Ohio State. They did come out running counter at the
- 14:53Speaker 2: beginning of that last game, switch back to a power.
- 14:56Speaker 2: But what Texas did that I thought was incredible. I mean,
- 15:00Speaker 2: in that game and right up until the end, the
- 15:03Speaker 2: score doesn't should pick that, but you've got the Trevion
- 15:06Speaker 2: Henderson's screenplay that breaks off right before half, and you've
- 15:10Speaker 2: got the scoop fumble that's fourteen points and that has
- 15:12Speaker 2: to the difference in the game. What Texas did that
- 15:16Speaker 2: was interesting to me was is and Chip Kelly addressed
- 15:18Speaker 2: if they rolled their coverage to Jeremiah Smith every play,
- 15:22Speaker 2: and that was the reason he was invisible in that game.
- 15:24Speaker 1: You didn't see him.
- 15:26Speaker 2: They made them beat them with their other tools. Now
- 15:29Speaker 2: where that's interesting. Come Monday night is Notre Dame plays
- 15:33Speaker 2: the fourth highest percentage of man coverage in the country.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Al Golden is not scared to put those corners on
- 15:38Speaker 2: the edge. They are good and he will leave them
- 15:41Speaker 2: out there on the island and see if they can go.
- 15:45Speaker 2: If they do that, I think Ohio State blows them
- 15:48Speaker 2: out because I think Jeremiah Smith, Mecha BUCA are going
- 15:52Speaker 2: to cause problems. And then I think you'll see the
- 15:55Speaker 2: wheel routes start to open up things like that because
- 15:57Speaker 2: there's some injuries on that Notre Dame defense.
- 16:00Speaker 1: If they come out Monday night and.
- 16:02Speaker 2: They're running zone and you can kind of see it,
- 16:05Speaker 2: I think they can hang around in this game. And
- 16:08Speaker 2: then I won't be surprised if you don't see Al
- 16:10Speaker 2: Golden's flop to a zone, into that hard band and
- 16:13Speaker 2: take some shots being like, we're gonna get a sack here,
- 16:16Speaker 2: We're gonna stifle the drive, and that's what we're gonna
- 16:19Speaker 2: have to do because Notre Dame's defense. To me, it
- 16:22Speaker 2: seems like I anticipate Ohio State doing something similar to
- 16:27Speaker 2: what we saw Penn State do when they put tempo in.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Remember in the second half, when Penn State came out
- 16:32Speaker 2: and they got Notre Dame on their heels and they
- 16:34Speaker 2: started running tempo. Notre Dame really struggled through that, and
- 16:38Speaker 2: I was kind of surprised that Penn State didn't go
- 16:40Speaker 2: back to it more and more and try to execute.
- 16:42Speaker 2: So I anticipate a very physical game. I think Ohio
- 16:46Speaker 2: State will bix it's tempo. I think they're gonna wait
- 16:49Speaker 2: and see what kind of defense they're gonna get, and
- 16:51Speaker 2: I think they'll.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Adjust to that.
- 16:54Speaker 2: I don't have a play in this game, but I
- 16:56Speaker 2: would lean to Ohio State covering the game a half.
- 16:59Speaker 3: I don't. I totally think they're going to cover the
- 17:02Speaker 3: eight and a half.
- 17:04Speaker 4: The difference is I think they're going especially with the
- 17:08Speaker 4: injuries up front for Notre Dame, because the injuries are
- 17:11Speaker 4: starting to pile pile up offensive land. Defensively, uh, along
- 17:15Speaker 4: that defensive line, they're beat up. I think Ohio State's
- 17:18Speaker 4: gonna be able to control the line of scrimmage, but
- 17:20Speaker 4: I certainly think they're going to be be able to
- 17:23Speaker 4: do it on the defensive side of the ball, which
- 17:25Speaker 4: is going to let them move people around. Leonard likes
- 17:29Speaker 4: to run the football. I think that this can be
- 17:32Speaker 4: a tough, tough situation for them. They're gonna have to
- 17:35Speaker 4: throw the football with their wide receivers if they're if
- 17:39Speaker 4: they're going to score enough points, I think to keep up.
- 17:42Speaker 3: I don't know if they're gonna be able to do that.
- 17:44Speaker 4: I think on the flip side, I think it all
- 17:47Speaker 4: comes down to Howard for Ohio State. He's got to
- 17:50Speaker 4: be disciplined because there's no way that al Golden can think,
- 17:54Speaker 4: you know, I can I can come out and I
- 17:57Speaker 4: can play man to man NonStop. There's no way he
- 18:00Speaker 4: and think this watching this on film. They are so
- 18:03Speaker 4: good athletically, but more importantly, look, you just saw Trevion
- 18:07Speaker 4: Henderson house it on a wheel route. Man, you can't
- 18:12Speaker 4: do it again. You start playing all kinds of man
- 18:15Speaker 4: to man. They got waters, they got running backs that
- 18:17Speaker 4: can beat you too, So I mean.
- 18:18Speaker 3: It's a I just think they've got to be more disciplined.
- 18:22Speaker 4: But they are definitely gonna have to take shots if
- 18:25Speaker 4: they're going to stop drives, which puts it on Howard
- 18:28Speaker 4: to recognize, Hey, they're in Man, Hey, I've got my shot,
- 18:33Speaker 4: and I've got to take it. Can he stand in
- 18:36Speaker 4: the pocket long enough? Because that Ohio State offensive line
- 18:38Speaker 4: the last three ball games has been outstanding, And I
- 18:42Speaker 4: just think it is I just think it's all up
- 18:45Speaker 4: to him.
- 18:45Speaker 3: It's disciplined enough to stay with it.
- 18:49Speaker 4: And continue to run and when he gets shots, take
- 18:53Speaker 4: it and complete them.
- 18:54Speaker 3: That's the key. And so I think it's all on him.
- 18:57Speaker 4: Those few shots that they tried, it's Michigan they couldn't do.
- 19:02Speaker 4: I think they're going to very I think they're going
- 19:04Speaker 4: to try to run a similar game plan to what
- 19:06Speaker 4: Michigan tried to do, and I think probably incorporate some
- 19:10Speaker 4: of what Texas did, because candidly, that's that's the two
- 19:14Speaker 4: best jobs that anybody's done against them all year, and
- 19:17Speaker 4: it's not close. And so I think they have to
- 19:20Speaker 4: fall some into that game plan and hope that their
- 19:23Speaker 4: front seven can hold up long enough keep this game close.
- 19:26Speaker 4: If it gets it, hosts Ohio State scores twenty eight,
- 19:30Speaker 4: they win this game, and they win it, they cover easy.
- 19:32Speaker 4: That's the bottom line. Because I don't think that Notre
- 19:35Speaker 4: Dame can score twenty I don't. I don't think they
- 19:38Speaker 4: can do it. This has got to be a low
- 19:40Speaker 4: scoring game for them to stay in the football game.
- 19:42Speaker 3: I just think Ohio State team's too talented.
- 19:45Speaker 4: To hold that, to hold on that short of a
- 19:48Speaker 4: number on a turf field, with the with everything, you know,
- 19:51Speaker 4: the condition's perfect, I think they're too talented for that.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I do too.
- 19:57Speaker 2: I think the game could start pretty quick too. I'm
- 20:00Speaker 2: interested to see what kind of shots you're going to take.
- 20:03Speaker 4: Looking at a couple of great Mark, we're talking about him.
- 20:06Speaker 4: I'm saying it's on his shoulders. He's been great these
- 20:09Speaker 4: last couple of games. I mean, played really really well,
- 20:13Speaker 4: and it's not like he hadn't taken a lot of snaps.
- 20:15Speaker 3: So I just, you know, like I said, I think
- 20:17Speaker 3: it has on him.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Uh.
- 20:19Speaker 4: They are certainly an eight and a half points better team.
- 20:23Speaker 4: So anyway, owned to some other some other bets, I've.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Got three that I really like. A couple of props
- 20:29Speaker 1: in a team total.
- 20:30Speaker 2: I like team total looks like you're looking at about
- 20:32Speaker 2: a minus one twenty to minus one thirty on Ohio
- 20:35Speaker 2: State over twenty seven and a half.
- 20:38Speaker 1: I think that's a number they're going to be able
- 20:40Speaker 1: to hit here. The other one I like, I like
- 20:43Speaker 1: a mega Buca over.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Sixty yards receiving. You can get that at minus one
- 20:48Speaker 2: ten at DraftKings is available. I think that with Jeremiah
- 20:52Speaker 2: Smith that I just anticipate they're going to try to
- 20:56Speaker 2: cover him up and keep him out and his prop
- 20:58Speaker 2: totals at Nainetier, which is pretty high if you're trying
- 21:02Speaker 2: to bet that at one ten.
- 21:03Speaker 1: I think Abuca could And I think a Buka's.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Got the chance to set a couple of records in
- 21:07Speaker 2: this game too, So I like Abuka over sixty yard receiving.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I also like.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Abuka anytime touchdown at minus won ten, and then the
- 21:16Speaker 2: other one.
- 21:16Speaker 4: I like, I love him anytime touchdown, love him on
- 21:22Speaker 4: anytime touchdown.
- 21:24Speaker 2: And I like Riley Leonard over forty yards rushing in
- 21:28Speaker 2: this game, which you can get at one ten of
- 21:31Speaker 2: a lot of books, just because I think he's gonna
- 21:36Speaker 2: end up having to carry this off manse. I mean
- 21:37Speaker 2: I will not be surprised one bit if he doesn't
- 21:40Speaker 2: have a really long broken run where it's a pass play.
- 21:44Speaker 1: It's not there and he just takes off.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Yeah, once he's rolling, he's fast, and I mean, hell,
- 21:51Speaker 2: you can get a Will Howard minus won ten over
- 21:54Speaker 2: eleven yard rushing. I mean, if we saw they called
- 21:56Speaker 2: that play in the Texas game with that power, he
- 21:59Speaker 2: just script and fell over. But you got to keep
- 22:02Speaker 2: in mind too, if you're taking the Riley Lennard prop,
- 22:04Speaker 2: you got sacks, yeah, which is not in the NFL.
- 22:07Speaker 1: But that's the only reason have it betting yet. But
- 22:10Speaker 1: Mecca Buca, anytime.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Touchdown over sixty yards in high of state over twenty
- 22:16Speaker 2: seven a half points, they're probably gonna be the three
- 22:18Speaker 2: best I'm gonna put in my pocket.
- 22:19Speaker 4: But the Travion Henderson first touchdown is is an interesting number.
- 22:25Speaker 4: But I honestly because I love that. I think that
- 22:31Speaker 4: guy is really what makes them go. But down on
- 22:33Speaker 4: the goal line they have been they've been trading backside
- 22:36Speaker 4: a little bit, so you might find some you might
- 22:40Speaker 4: find some value, you know, changing to the other running
- 22:44Speaker 4: back and saying, hey, you know it's you know you
- 22:47Speaker 4: do you.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Do it there?
- 22:48Speaker 4: Because there's a big there's a really big number on him.
- 22:51Speaker 4: I think his last time I looked, I think it
- 22:54Speaker 4: was like, what that isn't it like plus two point
- 22:56Speaker 4: thirty or something like that?
- 22:59Speaker 1: First TD score.
- 23:01Speaker 4: Yeah, first team, first TV scored by not Henderson, But
- 23:06Speaker 4: why am I going Bray Dickins, Judkins.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Judkins, both of those guys.
- 23:10Speaker 2: If the first TV scorers, Trevion is plus five fifty,
- 23:14Speaker 2: quish On is plus five hundred.
- 23:16Speaker 4: Yeah, So I mean I think that's a I think
- 23:18Speaker 4: that's a really good number on either one of those guys,
- 23:20Speaker 4: because that is a I mean, you don't have to
- 23:21Speaker 4: put much down to really to really win some money.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Yeah no, well hell you could. You could even put.
- 23:28Speaker 2: It in a Mecca Travion and a quish On and all
- 23:31Speaker 2: for one hundred bucks keep your fingers crossed and one
- 23:34Speaker 2: of them hits, you're still going to profit a couple
- 23:35Speaker 2: hundred dollars. Yeah, so yeah, I mean, I've been been
- 23:38Speaker 2: I'm I think it's a great game. I'm really looking
- 23:41Speaker 2: forward to it. I am have a physicality. Sad to
- 23:44Speaker 2: say Notre Dame. Some of their offensive and defensive line
- 23:47Speaker 2: injuries I think could play a part in this game.
- 23:50Speaker 1: But I think you're going to get their best effort
- 23:53Speaker 1: top to bottom.
- 23:54Speaker 2: I think Notre Dame is so well coached, and I.
- 23:57Speaker 4: Hate the team with destiny talk, but if anybody's got it,
- 24:02Speaker 4: it certainly feels like them. I mean, it really does,
- 24:05Speaker 4: because honestly, I don't know, Well, they weren't more talented
- 24:09Speaker 4: than the team they beat last week, and I don't
- 24:13Speaker 4: know that they've been more talent. They certainly weren't more
- 24:16Speaker 4: talented than Georgia, and they figured out how to win
- 24:19Speaker 4: both those games. Can they do it again? I mean
- 24:21Speaker 4: that seems like an awfully upfield paddle, but man, it
- 24:24Speaker 4: does have that. It has a weird feel to this
- 24:28Speaker 4: Notre Dame team.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Well, we're gonna find out Monday night. Scotty. It's been
- 24:34Speaker 1: a good season. We cashed out. I'm up fifteen units
- 24:37Speaker 1: on my college plays for the year. Hopefully we can
- 24:39Speaker 1: put a few more in our pockets. Scott and I
- 24:42Speaker 1: will circle back to you after the National Championship.
- 24:44Speaker 2: We're gonna try to do small season podcast this year,
- 24:47Speaker 2: just because the college football world never seems to end.
- 24:50Speaker 1: We can talk about some portal news and they're gonna
- 24:53Speaker 1: right after the Super Bowl closes.
- 24:55Speaker 2: You're gonna go ahead and get some lines that are
- 24:57Speaker 2: already out there for next year's national championship, and so.
- 25:01Speaker 1: It never stops. College football is the best. Hit us up.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Give us a light, give us a smash, put us
- 25:07Speaker 2: a review if you've got a couple this year. I
- 25:09Speaker 2: appreciate all that. Everybody travels safe, enjoy the weekend
- 25:13Speaker 1: And we'll talk to you next time.
