- 0:01Speaker 1: This episode is brought to you by P and C Bank.
- 0:03Speaker 1: A lot of people think podcasts about work are boring,
- 0:06Speaker 1: and sure they definitely can be, but understanding of professionals
- 0:10Speaker 1: routine shows us how they achieve their success little by little,
- 0:14Speaker 1: day after day. It's like banking with P and C Bank.
- 0:18Speaker 1: It might seem boring to safe plan and make calculated
- 0:21Speaker 1: decisions with your bank, but keeping your money boring is
- 0:24Speaker 1: what helps you live or more happily fulfilled life. P
- 0:27Speaker 1: and C Bank Brilliantly Boring since eighteen sixty five. Brilliantly
- 0:32Speaker 1: Boring since eighteen sixty five is a service mark of
- 0:35Speaker 1: the PNC Financial Service Group, Inc. P and C Bank
- 0:39Speaker 1: National Association Member FDIC.
- 0:43Speaker 2: From a standpoint of technology, right, I'm interested in to
- 0:46Speaker 2: know like how you guys are adapting to technology and
- 0:50Speaker 2: how it's changing you know, your business models.
- 0:54Speaker 3: That's you, Roy, that's me okay.
- 0:57Speaker 4: So I consider myself the oldest one, yes, and as
- 1:02Speaker 4: you know, older people don't like that stuff.
- 1:06Speaker 3: She calls me for every thing. She had to help me,
- 1:10Speaker 3: how did I get into the airport to go your ticket?
- 1:14Speaker 3: But we have really we do lean into technology and
- 1:19Speaker 3: AI and all of that. So one thing that we
- 1:22Speaker 3: recently did was we talked about earlier y'all asked us like,
- 1:26Speaker 3: how do we bring our brick and mortar our company
- 1:29Speaker 3: to like our online so people when they walk in
- 1:32Speaker 3: the T shop, we can say, what do you want
- 1:33Speaker 3: your tea to do for you? What's the vibe, what's
- 1:35Speaker 3: the flavor? All of these things? Where do you want
- 1:37Speaker 3: to meet you? And we can talk about that. So
- 1:39Speaker 3: now we have on our site just as simple as
- 1:42Speaker 3: a little robot that says, okay, click these little buttons
- 1:45Speaker 3: and it'll tell you the first five blends that you
- 1:47Speaker 3: need to go purchase, and that has helped us. One
- 1:49Speaker 3: has increased the cells so much we can go back
- 1:52Speaker 3: and be like wow, like they actually bought this extra tea,
- 1:55Speaker 3: and then offer another discount and leaning into it to
- 1:58Speaker 3: allow technology to be a part of it and take
- 2:01Speaker 3: things off our plate, because if we think about it,
- 2:04Speaker 3: we've talked about staffing, we talked about operation and a
- 2:08Speaker 3: y'all offers where you can take some of this off
- 2:11Speaker 3: your plate so we don't have to build every landing page,
- 2:13Speaker 3: we don't have to write every little description or do
- 2:17Speaker 3: all the little minute things and online orders, click the
- 2:20Speaker 3: buttons and use it. We don't need to email every
- 2:23Speaker 3: person back. You have a little assistant right there that
- 2:26Speaker 3: comes with your Gmail now if you're using Gmail suite,
- 2:30Speaker 3: and they'll do it for you, like leaning into it,
- 2:32Speaker 3: learning it and taking like just taking time to let
- 2:36Speaker 3: allow those things and that takes up having to hire
- 2:39Speaker 3: an extra person for it. That has really helped us.
- 2:43Speaker 3: And then I just have to train her to know
- 2:45Speaker 3: how those systems so that they're affective for us. So
- 2:48Speaker 3: that's one way that we have used it.
- 2:50Speaker 4: But yeah, and our whole team has they're all young,
- 2:54Speaker 4: and we have Square and they teach me how to
- 2:58Speaker 4: use the square. My team teaches the owner how to
- 3:01Speaker 4: use the square and so the square.
- 3:06Speaker 1: That sounds like Auntie.
- 3:09Speaker 4: But then when I learned it, when I learned it,
- 3:12Speaker 4: then they change something. Yeah, so weird. They moved the
- 3:16Speaker 4: button this one right here, So I'm kidding.
- 3:20Speaker 1: That's an update.
- 3:23Speaker 3: So seriously, all the line would be out their door
- 3:25Speaker 3: on Friday. It was me and her working. It's us too,
- 3:28Speaker 3: because we let our team have summer breaks. We told
- 3:30Speaker 3: them like y'all get y'all mental health. You want to
- 3:31Speaker 3: take two weeks here, you want to take two weeks
- 3:33Speaker 3: we'll be at the shot. So I made it. It
- 3:35Speaker 3: was an update and she's like, I'm going to be
- 3:37Speaker 3: on a register today. Okay, then Auntie, you you be
- 3:39Speaker 3: on a register. I'm be in the back of the house.
- 3:41Speaker 3: I'm making drinks. You're taking care of the people up front.
- 3:43Speaker 3: She's like, well, can you come help me with the register?
- 3:45Speaker 3: And I'm like, oh face, I got you with the updates,
- 3:48Speaker 3: but knowing how, but it makes it fun and it
- 3:51Speaker 3: really does grow the company because when customers walk in.
- 3:55Speaker 3: One thing that surprised us was like they walked in,
- 3:57Speaker 3: they saw both of us and it was like, oh
- 3:59Speaker 3: my god, I'm star struck. And we're like, no, we're
- 4:01Speaker 3: we out here hustling like we got it in us.
- 4:04Speaker 3: You're gonna see us doing every position at this shop.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Somebody want to call out, we are there to show up.
- 4:09Speaker 3: So whether or not we use technology, some things we
- 4:11Speaker 3: can't replace technology for. We can't replace our personalities. You're
- 4:15Speaker 3: gonna get that, but we can't replace it. But you're
- 4:17Speaker 3: gonna get us when you come to the shop. You're
- 4:20Speaker 3: gonna get us on online and all of that.
- 4:24Speaker 5: We're low tech over here. Well, I mean we have
- 4:28Speaker 5: you know, like kind of the same like square point
- 4:30Speaker 5: of sale system set up. We use the mobile ones
- 4:33Speaker 5: for our you know, the pop up shops. At this
- 4:35Speaker 5: point in business, in terms of technology, we're just trying
- 4:38Speaker 5: to figure out how to enhance our data collection because
- 4:41Speaker 5: we do so much service to community and we now
- 4:43Speaker 5: have so many like funders and things with grants, and
- 4:45Speaker 5: we want to be able to tell the complete story
- 4:47Speaker 5: of our business. So it's really more like that kind
- 4:49Speaker 5: of in like research and development right now, trying to
- 4:51Speaker 5: figure out what tech, what things can we use to
- 4:53Speaker 5: be able to collect as much data as we can
- 4:55Speaker 5: to be able to tell a better story of who
- 4:57Speaker 5: we are.
- 4:58Speaker 6: I was gonna say, I've become an AI bought. Some
- 5:03Speaker 6: of my team members call me Kika bot. I love AI.
- 5:07Speaker 6: I remember when chat GPT first came out, you guys
- 5:10Speaker 6: know TJ, Me and TJ were on Zoom every single day,
- 5:16Speaker 6: like playing with prompts like when it first came out.
- 5:19Speaker 6: And so now she's like, hey, look what I did.
- 5:22Speaker 6: I'm like, how the did you do this? So for me,
- 5:26Speaker 6: it's it's helped. It's like the kryptonite that I needed.
- 5:30Speaker 6: I think as human, this sounds so bad. I'm sorry.
- 5:32Speaker 6: Shout out to AI, shout out to Square. But it's
- 5:36Speaker 6: actually made me like a super woman because the things
- 5:41Speaker 6: I lacked now I can get from AI to attached
- 5:45Speaker 6: to what I so like as a creator, I'm creative.
- 5:47Speaker 6: I can create a business from scratch. Strategy, I can
- 5:51Speaker 6: create from scratch. But how do I make sure this
- 5:52Speaker 6: strategy is going to lead to millions? Oh that's a prompt.
- 5:57Speaker 6: Make sure it leads to millions? And actually that's what
- 6:00Speaker 6: I did. I built black Box franchising using chat GBT
- 6:04Speaker 6: prompts and I reverse engineered. So this is how much
- 6:09Speaker 6: I want to make the first year? Now, how do
- 6:11Speaker 6: I do this? Give me all the steps? I follow
- 6:13Speaker 6: the steps. We got there after four months and I'm
- 6:17Speaker 6: not making this up. So it's like it's it's really
- 6:20Speaker 6: helped me a lot.
- 6:23Speaker 1: I don't want to sell.
- 6:24Speaker 6: I feel like I'm on a commercial.
- 6:26Speaker 1: It's my best friend. Is this really her? Me?
- 6:33Speaker 6: Guys, I saw your shout out to your last episode.
- 6:35Speaker 6: I'm like, oh, that's not her, this is not me.
- 6:38Speaker 6: But no, I encourage everyone to embrace it because if
- 6:42Speaker 6: you still don't know what we're talking about, it's already
- 6:44Speaker 6: like kind.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Of too late.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Ernest what's up.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Look?
