- Commish Bonez: Woo! Welcome back to Fourth and Bania Podcast. Folks, you're only gonna have Kamish bones today. Kamish Poppy is under the weather, just couldn't hack it, you know. Left me to do a solo mission. Jeez, kid. Unbelievable, this guy. I didn't expect anything else from Kamish Poppy, but you know what it is. Hopefully he feels better. You're just gonna have to deal with me for week five recap today, folks. I'm excited. Week five winner was Steffi, my cousin, Rivera. Shout out C T, shout out to the Riveras. Shout out to the Bar family. For anyone who doesn't know, the Bar family is the Benias, the Alvarez's, and the Rivera's. It's a little click that we've had on on the family side and the familia side. So we've been doing this for a while. They've been in OGs technically in the pool for all 14 years. This is how they actually started. So it's been great. Honestly, it's been great and we couldn't I wouldn't want it any other way at this point. And there she is, the week five winner, Stephanie Rivera. I love it. Talk to me, girly. Dude, Stephanie: What's up? What's up? Commish Bonez: you killed it. Stephanie: I still can't believe it. Commish Bonez: Honestly, I still can't believe it either. The craziest part, so for those who weren't following, we do the squad ride and we were doing it, we're pulling and Steffi tuned in. She's like, I'm winning this week. And it wasn't like I feel like it wasn't, Stephanie: yeah. Commish Bonez: you know, one of those, whatever kind of thing. You never really say that and you're like, no, I'm winning it this week. And then classic, Stephanie: Yeah. Commish Bonez: you win it by two points at that. So thirteen wins on a really tough week. Stephanie: I know. I literally manifested it. Because I did not. I said that Commish Bonez: Honestly, you did, which is impressive. Stephanie: being funny. I wasn't actually planning on winning. But I manifested Commish Bonez: Ha ha ha. Stephanie: it. Totally. Commish Bonez: I love it. I love it. I love it. And for folks not, Stephanie: Yeah. Commish Bonez: expecting to see a little commish papi over here, he's actually feeling under the weather. So we're we're gonna champion this with my my cousin, my prima Stephanie Rivera here. So Steph, let's start from the top here. How did you make your picks? Stephanie: Yeah. Commish Bonez: Like what do you do? Do you do anything special or how do you approach it every week? Stephanie: So the funny thing, just shout out to myself, I've been, since the beginning I've been part of this. So you would think after so many years, Commish Bonez: That's right. Actually you're an OG. Stephanie: I'm an OG. First year I won the whole thing, remember that? Honest, yeah. Commish Bonez: That's right. You did win the whole thing. You dude, you've you've won a lot in this poll. Stephanie: I have, I have. And the funny thing is this year I almost didn't do it. And Bonilla Boy's convinced me. Commish Bonez: I know, and I've been giving you shit pretty much every week on it now. Stephanie: Yeah, have given me shit? Exactly. But you would think so many years of doing this, because I've been doing it. How many years have we been doing it? Like, a lot. 14 Commish Bonez: Fourteen years now, I think. Stephanie: years. You would think I would have some type of... But honestly, I almost... Usually I put my picks in on a Wednesday. I literally put them in, I think, an hour before Thursday's game, which I never do. And I'm just being 100 % honest, I literally didn't... I don't really, my strategy is like maybe go to like ESPN.com and review a little bit, but like this week I really did nothing. I swear it was just, I'm just being honest, it was pure luck. Like literally I said I was gonna go back and like review the Sunday picks and life got busy and I really didn't. I mean guys, the Jets and the Giants, come on. So. Commish Bonez: I mean, look, the craziest part about that stuff is like that, usually you'll be surprised. Like a lot of the people that we've interviewed, Stephanie: Yeah. Commish Bonez: they're like, said and forget it, didn't even know. Stephanie: Yeah. Commish Bonez: Someone texted them to be like, like, dude, you're doing pretty well. And then they finally look at it like Sunday night and they're like, shit, like I'm in contention kind of thing. So I that Stephanie: Yeah. Exactly. Commish Bonez: does not surprise me at all that that's the case. so Stephanie: And one thing I've learned is don't check your, like, don't check if you're in the lead because the second you do that, it's a wrap. Commish Bonez: You know what's so funny? Pop Pops texted me and he was like no, not Pops. I was talking to mom earlier and she was like, You know, Stephanie: Yeah. Commish Bonez: Daddy really gave me a scare. He was like, You're in first, honey. And she was like, Wait, really? And I was like, Dad. I mean, it definitely was one of those where he ha she had the lead like early on or something, and he probably saw her at the Stephanie: She checked early? Yeah. Commish Bonez: top and was like, You're there. And then classic, like, but you're right, Stephanie: Yeah, yeah. Commish Bonez: because I've seen that too many times. It's like four o'clock games start, you're ahead, you're like, look, I'm looking pretty good. The four o'clock games end you're in last place. And it's like, wait, what? Stephanie: Yeah, exactly. Yeah, exactly, exactly. Commish Bonez: Okay, so you're saying like this week in particular you kind of just did it on on the whim like that, or do you usually like Stephanie: I literally didn't... Commish Bonez: look up anything? Stephanie: I usually look at least like I said, I'll go to like ESPN.com or even like CBS Sports, the one that we use and just kind of look at, Commish Bonez: Okay. Okay. Stephanie: know, you know, different factors, home team, injuries, things like that. And it feels like this year especially, there's a lot of injuries, right? So I think, but Commish Bonez: Totally. Stephanie: this week, like I said, it was just a busy week and I really didn't have time to like... You know, sometimes, especially Thursday, you're just trying to get it in. And then obviously you have to put all the picks in. So, honestly, was, like I said, I had the Jets and the Giants and they, that never happens where I pick both New York teams and they pull through for me, okay? So. Commish Bonez: I d I feel like I've had that conversation with with your father a lot. My uncle, Theo. Stephanie: Yeah. Commish Bonez: Shout out to Theo. we always talk about that like that happening. It's like, if we have two, like when we go through our picks, he's like, I don't know if that's a good idea to have both. It's probably not gonna go through. Stephanie: Yeah, exactly. So I'm proof that you don't really have to be a professional, like, know all this research. Sometimes you just go with your gut feeling and it works out for you. Commish Bonez: Yo, and you're representing the females in the pool. So first female winner this week, let's go, or this year. I love that. I love that. So was Stephanie: Let's go! Ladies, stand up! Commish Bonez: it so did you like going throughout the week, was there a confidence? Like not throughout the week really, just like on Sunday, were you at a certain point where you're like, like I'm I'm really feeling good about this kind of thing? Stephanie: Going into Sunday night game. I was feeling really good. I was like I'm in a good spot and then Atlanta broke my heart. think Atlanta was I had two picks wrong I think and that was because I think it's kind of nice when you go into Monday not having to like You know and I went into technically Monday still You know, I was pretty confident, but I wasn't a hundred percent sure because obviously I had to have make sure I ended up taking for the Monday game bills. So I had to make sure that the person, know, the couple of people that were in contention as well. it's like, yeah, Commish Bonez: Yeah, 'cause I was gonna say, I was like, you almost had that like solid. Stephanie: exactly. But definitely the Sunday game. Once I've, after the four o'clock games, once I knew, my God, this could like possibly happen. It's like, it just amps it up. You're like, my gosh. Like, but then I'm also very big on like, don't change your picks. Right? Commish Bonez: No. No. That's that's the thing. And it's so h Stephanie: Like, because that never works out. Commish Bonez: it's so hard to do that too, right? It's like you're there, Stephanie: Yeah. Commish Bonez: you're like, damn, do I need to change it now? Or like these picks got me there. But then like, what if you like Stephanie: Exactly. Commish Bonez: made them on a whim and you were just like 'cause I do that often. I make my picks and then sometimes Stephanie: Yeah. Commish Bonez: it's just to get the Thursday game in, I'll put it all home or something, and then I have to go back. Stephanie: Exactly. Right. Commish Bonez: but wow man, that is too funny. And like honestly, the Atlanta game, that was one of those where the second Pendix got hurt, I was racing to my phone to put it in the back because I knew Tua was gonna mess us up. It literally didn't have Stephanie: Yeah. Yep. Commish Bonez: an option for interception. And I was like, damn it. And then of course what happens? He throws an interception to end it. I'm like, Are you kidding me? Just freaking classic man. Stephanie: Yup. I know, I know. Yeah. Commish Bonez: So and and like honestly, the the person who was in second place might have to get the dud of the week because they were in contention. First of all, they missed their Thursday pick. That's one. So they could Stephanie: Yeah. Commish Bonez: have gotten one pick on you technically, or at least like a gain in in the distance. And then they also didn't put their total tie in. So the second I didn't see Stephanie: Right. Yeah, exactly. That would have helped them, yep. Total, yeah. Commish Bonez: the total tie, I was like, Steph's got this easy. Like Stephanie: Well, that's where on so Monday going forward to Monday night, I literally was like, okay, now I basically have to have, know, if we have the same picks and it's, don't even have to, I was hoping it was like, I would watch Commish Bonez: Tiebreaker. Stephanie: the game and like, I didn't have to watch the game because I already knew, you know, I could actually enjoy the game. Commish Bonez: Uh-huh. Stephanie: Then I was like, wait, he didn't put the tiebreaker in. So how does that work? So yeah, definitely. Commish Bonez: No man. You you Stephanie: Lesson to all, make sure you put in all your picks and put in the Thai burger score. Yeah. Yeah. Commish Bonez: man, it's like a broken record. I can't believe people are are fumbling that. And honestly, like we've seen plenty of examples where folks are just like putting their picks in, they win, and that's it. It's Stephanie: Yeah. Commish Bonez: a thousand dollars, nothing to sneeze at. You know what mean? So well look, I mean that so that Exactly, exactly. So there's your bonus, and I don't wanna hear it. That's Stephanie: Exactly. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's fun. Especially for someone who almost didn't do it this year. Locked in for life now. Commish Bonez: it. I don't wanna hear it for next year. You already have your buy in for like eight years in a row now. Stephanie: Yeah. Commish Bonez: When it comes to your total score, is there anything special that you do with that? Stephanie: So typically I usually do look at like the teams like I knew for example this week I actually did obviously once I knew Sunday like I was kind of in contention I actually reviewed my pick Commish Bonez: Yeah. Stephanie: I figured it was gonna be like a high-scoring game I usually like when I'm putting in my picks I usually just do 31 and then I'll review it before like Monday to like see who's playing so like obviously This was, I don't know off the top of my head what it ended up being, I definitely, yeah, Commish Bonez: What the your your total score? Stephanie: like what, I mean, it didn't end up mattering that because coming to play because I took the bills. So Commish Bonez: Yeah. Stephanie: I was, and I believe the people that were, yeah. I think I put like 51 for this week. I don't remember what it ended up. I put 49, that's Commish Bonez: I'm curious what what it was anyway. So I mean, well, they you put 49 for this week. Stephanie: right, that's right. Commish Bonez: Yeah, you put 49, Stephanie: Yeah. Commish Bonez: and and now actually the way it sh it it like shook up in terms of the final scoring, Tisha was tied with John Strange and John Bereshee. and John Bereshee Stephanie: Yes. I did see two. Commish Bonez: was like the one who I was saying he didn't put it in because he was like technically right there. I was like, dude. Stephanie: That's who I was. Yeah. He was the one that I saw. Yeah. Yeah. But I definitely knew. yes. If he would have. Right. Commish Bonez: But Tisha technically would have taken it if he got it right or whatever, but he was one underneath. He had sixty. Stephanie: Yeah, there you go. So, I know, that's crazy. Yeah, and it Commish Bonez: It was seventy one the total. Dude, it was frickin' scoring. Stephanie: was a high scoring game. I mean that was such a great game. And you know what's crazy? I took the bills, right? So obviously it worked out for me. I fell asleep. I fell asleep, you know, Commish Bonez: Easy win. Let's go. No. Stephanie: listen, I'm a granny, I go to sleep early. When it went into OT, I literally, not on purpose, I literally was just so tired, I fell asleep. I woke up and they were celebrating. I was like, I guess I'm celebrating. Commish Bonez: Well that's a good that's a perfect transition to the next question. Because I was like, well, what Stephanie: Yeah. Commish Bonez: did you do when you found out that you won? Like, were you like I mean obviously it's Monday night late, like you can't really do much, but like, you know, were Stephanie: Yeah, right. Commish Bonez: you you say that I guess that's the story, right? You woke up right in the middle of it. Did you wake up like Stephanie: I walk, I literally. Commish Bonez: right at the end or like well after? Stephanie: I woke up at the end, like the last couple seconds, literally. So I was still like in Commish Bonez: Classic. Stephanie: a, you know, like when you take a nap, and I'm not really a napper, but I was so tired, like you wake up and you're like, and I was like opening my eyes, I'm like, shit, I actually won. You know? I don't have Commish Bonez: Yeah, yeah. Hey. Stephanie: to do the math of like, what the other people, I was like, because I took the bills, Commish Bonez: Nope. Stephanie: it works out for me, you know? So what did I do? I celebrated because I didn't think I would ever win. Commish Bonez: I love it. I love it, man. Honestly, it's the that's the best way to wake up from a nap. Thousand dollars richer. Stephanie: Yeah, I was super excited. And then, yeah, I know. And then I had a couple texts from some of the family members in the pool that saw it, you know? So, it was fun. Yeah. Commish Bonez: yeah? Did the bar family hit you up? Stephanie: Yeah, T-Dogs hit me up. I'm trying to think who else. Steve and my brother hit me up even though he's not in the pool because he knew that I was in contention. Yeah, he didn't do it, I know. Commish Bonez: Dude, I'm getting on Steve so bad for not getting in, man. He I'm just I'm done with that. He's gotta figure it out. like I'm gonna give him shit for that for the rest of for the rest of the season for sure until he gets back in. Stephanie: Yeah. he knows I won though. Commish Bonez: It's it's a family tax that just has to happen no matter what going forward. The bar is like auto, auto in. that's amazing. So, all right, well look, you're a thousand dollars richer now. What do you what Stephanie: Yeah. Exactly, exactly. Yeah. Yeah. I know. Commish Bonez: do you plan on doing with the moolah? Stephanie: it's we were saving it for now. You know that goes in the bank. It's a nice, know. I. Yeah, yeah, I haven't really Commish Bonez: Okay. All right. Hey, and ne you never know. It could it could be one of those I'm t you know, going to dinner, gonna buy myself something real nice. Stephanie: thought about it yet. For now, it's just going to stay in the bank exactly. Yeah, exactly. There you Commish Bonez: Hey, sit on it. Put it in a high yield. Maybe it'll grow a little more. Stephanie: go. There you go. My finance background will come into play. Yeah. Commish Bonez: I love it. There it is. There it is. Well look, Steph, this is the final question. It's a traditional question. I'm sure you know it. What is your victory song for this week? This so this song should be a reflection of your performance. So I wanna know what you got for me because I know you got something good. Stephanie: Well, I'm gonna say it because I think it's funny. if you're a young person, you might not know the song, but I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor. I will survive. as long Commish Bonez: Ha ha ha ha! Stephanie: as... I literally was playing that all. like, I will survive. Because hopefully I'm gonna survive this. Because that's the beauty of the pool. You never know. One game could mess you up. But like I said, once those Commish Bonez: That's true. Stephanie: four o'clock games... and then I felt like I was in a good spot, but basically all of a sudden, all of Sunday, that was my theme song. I will survive by Gloria Gaynor. Yeah. Yeah. Commish Bonez: I love that. I love that you're you're picking that song. If this is a Survivor Pull, that would be literally the most perfect song to use. But honestly, that is that's amazing. I love that. I can't Stephanie: Yeah. Commish Bonez: wait to put it on the IG to support you. well look, thanks for taking so much time. I really appreciate it. Stephanie: Yeah. Yeah. Yes. Commish Bonez: And hey, can you buck the trend and potentially win back to back weeks? Because we've been we've been giving bad juju to all the winners. Stephanie: You Commish Bonez: Unfortunately, that's the trend right now. I want you to win. So please do what you need to do. No pressure at all. All right. All right. Exactly. Hey, it's tomorrow. That's it. Get ready. No, but thank you again, Steph. Really appreciate it. Love you so much. and congrats again. Yep. We'll talk. Good night. Stephanie: Alright, no pressure. No pressure. Let me go start reviewing my pics again. Alright, sounds good. Love you. This was fun. Alright, bye. Good night. Commish Bonez: what a gem, what a gem. That is Prima Steffi. She's the best, guys. she has a heart of gold, and anyone who knows her and knows the Rivera family, you know that. they're just good people, man. Good people all around. So congrats again to Steffi. And and that's our winner for week five, folks. So let's get right into it. What about the week five highlights, huh? We had a crazy week and it started off with Thursday night, Tampa Bay, Buccaneers twenty-four, Dallas Cowboys sixteen. I mean honestly, what jumped off the page for me on this one was it was a lot of people's survivors pick. And like I'm sitting there and you know. My wife Liz is also in a survivor pool and I'm like, I don't know. Like, she was like going through her picks and I'm like, You didn't pick the Cowboys, right? And she's like, No, but more than half the pool did. And I'm like, I just didn't understand that at all. I mean, I like I I don't know. I mean, I guess like Bucks are in the backup quarterback, but he actually looked pretty good in the in the previous week. Dallas has been shaky. it's prime time game. Any prime time game I just don't like. I I I take the dogs. If I'm getting that much points, I'm gonna take it. So I thought that was pretty interesting. this kid looks pretty good. I think the quarterback, I mean it's the best case scenario, really. Like Baker had a pretty serious injury with his thumb. I don't know when he's gonna be back. honestly, this this is a momentum win for the Bucs, and it's honestly a real buzzkill for the Cowboys. I mean, how many more years can they do this? Their offense is excellent. but they just can't figure it out on defense. shout out to Quinn and Williams who got traded over there. Thank you for the first round picks. that's gonna be a big one for us. But honestly, I he's killing it. He's probably the only one killing on the Cowboys defense right now. There's only so much you know, one person can do. I actually was rooting for him because you know, he's obviously dealt with a lot of loss on the jet side, but hey, sometimes it sucks to kind of leave the crew. And see us that we're we're winning back in the winning trend right now. But I guess we'll see how that goes. We got the Patriots coming up this week, but we'll get there. We will get there, folks. what do we got? We're gonna skip that London game because there's another segment that we can kick into. We got the Vikings 23, the Saints 13. Vikings still undefeated, man. you know, I thought that this one was gonna go another way. I think the Saints have been fighting and I just you didn't know what Vikings were gonna come out. I mean, clearly they're winning these games, but convincingly, I don't think you can say that at this point. let's see, Murray completed 24 of 30 passes, 229 yards, one touchdown pass, of course, to JJ. look, at the end of the day, all that matters is they get the W Man. I think the Saints are at this inflection point. They're we're teetering with this team that just fights with everybody. And at this point, I don't know. I mean it can go either way this season with with them at this point. So they've had some really tough losses. It seems like it's gonna go downhill, but I guess we'll see. congrats to the Vikings. Let's see how long they could pull this out for. how about this game? Packers, Bears. Packers 31, Bears 7. I mean, honestly, I didn't see it being this this far apart. I mean, I guess the Packers are I believe they were at home for this game. obviously it's a rivalry. You still got the backup quarterback that's going. what the week before the Bears played the Jets, so you can argue that was an easier win for them. I think the Jets just played like an outlier of a bad game. I mean, really, really bad. Sure, we've had bad games before, but that was just an anomaly in my eyes. I think what stood out here was Green Bay's defense. It held Chicago to a hundred and eighty-nine total yards. and they had four sacks. So clearly their defense showed up. Clearly they showed up for this game, which they needed. Jordan Love, three touchdown passes. I mean, that's a little wake up call for the Bears and everybody in the league, really. I think that they thought that they were like unstoppable at this point. And you know, you just never know, especially with rivalry games, you're just you're gonna get you're gonna get that, right? So Packers with a statement game. I kinda love it. what do we got? We got the Patriots 45 Raiders 17. I mean, look, this is back to back wins in the Patriots. It seems like they're getting back to that, you know, to that winning mantra that they've had. Drake May's looking ten times better. three hundred and ten passing yards, four total touchdowns, and they had some injuries. Henderson, I don't know if is gonna be back for that jet game next week. So I think that Might be good for us, but I think they're getting back they may get back AJ Brown, which I don't like, and they have Gonzalez on the defense. So we'll see. I mean, look, it this is a blowout, so there's really nothing else to kind of talk about with this one. It seems like the Patriots could get back on a winning streak here. Hopefully we could buck that trend, baby. Let's go, Jets. and Raiders, they were they were hot there for a second, especially after playing the Chiefs, and it was so close. So I really hope that they can figure it out. obviously not against the Jets in two weeks, but I feel like, you know, they have an opportunity to to change the culture over there in Las Vegas. And this could be one of those those times. But it's it's all about adversity, right? If you could face it and surmount it, then I guess we'll see who the real Raiders are in this next coming weeks. and we got to see Mendoza, which was interesting. I mean, I guess up and down. it's kind of nice to just like get in there, had no expectations and just see see what comes out. I think cousins will be fine. I think he'll play, he'll continue to play. And you got to get that real, you know, real game experience. It's the only way that you're gonna get better. So glad that he was able to get some time, but I guess we'll see where that's gonna go. Next we got the Cincinnati Bengals 31, Miami Dolphins 24. Guys, the Dolphins are planning to lose this season a lot. Okay, they want that top pick. There's no doubt about it. They want to be competitive. And honestly, this is way more competitive than I thought it should be. So to me, I think this game actually really says a lot more about the Bengals. One thing about the Bengals is they don't kill anybody. I think that's pretty apparent at this point. They don't like I don't know. They just don't like beat teams that they're supposed to beat by a lot of points. And I think at this point that like it's just gonna catch up to them, right? And I think A lot of the contracts and I've heard a lot of the things in the organization, how they treat players and stuff, I just feel like they're not doing it right. they're gonna have to change something. Their their offense is their offense is obviously legit. Their defense needs help. At a certain point though, they can't just keep running this back. You know? I think the coach is pretty good. I think he I I don't know. I I I I think they just need to change something, you know? Burroughs injury prone like crazy. So I don't know. We'll see. I mean they look, W's is all that matter. not a surprise that Dolphins lost, but I think Bengals really need to turn it up if they're if they're gonna want to be contenders kind of going forward at this point. we got the Steelers, 34, Colts 22. Steelers are just a stubborn team. I I just I don't get it like how they continue to pull these things out, but they do. I mean, at the end of the day, there's really nothing much more to say about this game. Like the Colts just have to figure this out. I think they're I hope that they continue to lose, to be honest, because the trade that we gave for Sauce Gardner gives us, you know, first round picks and Obviously, we're monitoring those losses in the record, so that that pick can be even higher. yeah, not a lot of confidence in both of these teams. I don't know where they go, but the Steelers keep winning or keep finding ways to win. So we'll see how that goes for them. next game, we got the Texans, twenty-six Titans three. Texans finally get their win. I mean, I don't know. I look, they're supposed to get this win, right? It's a Titans. So the Titans, though. They are in bad shape. And honestly, do you start to question if Robert Sala gets fired after the first season? I mean, not a good look. Maybe it wasn't the Jets. Huh? Maybe it wasn't the Jets. I don't know. it's a good question. their staff going into the season looked good. I mean, to be honest, I thought that they were actually gonna look they were gonna be pretty good. Or at least like a big turnaround from the year before. But Cam Ward doesn't look good, their defense doesn't look good. And Salah usually has his defenses right. I mean, obviously it's his first year there, so like you gotta give him some slack, but he traded for a lot of the guys that he had on the Jets. good guys too. It's not like they're bad. So I don't know. Clearly there's something dysfunctional that's happening on that side. Texans get a win, obviously a win that they really, really needed, but is it really gonna surmount to, you know, seeing another good team and being able to kind of replicate that? we will see. We will see. Jets, Browns. I mean, look, obviously I'm excited. Obviously, these games kind of don't go our way in in the past. So, like, look, you could view it a couple different ways. I think if you talk about the Jets fan base, obviously it goes both ways. You can find the fan who's just gonna be like Why are we celebrating a win against the Browns? Even though that they're having a good year, it doesn't matter. They're a bad franchise. This should be expected. why is the captain of the team saying that this is a historic win? And then you could go on the flip side to say, hey, like clearly they have a lot of weapons, clearly we're fighting, right? And this is a win, this is a game that we usually would have lost in the past. And we didn't lose. We won. And at the end of the day, like that's all this league comes down to, whether you win by You know, an inch or a mile. So I don't know. To me, I'm not sold on this. I think I'm happy. I really want to see how we're gonna show up with the Patriots next week. obviously it's a divisional matchup. There's some injuries on both sides of the of the teams here, so like it can go either way. I don't want to hear too many excuses on that piece. I really hope Brees can come back. He didn't practice today, so I don't know how that's looking. He really needs to get back into it if he's gonna come back. I mean Brandon Allen is av obviously killing it. So shout out to Pat P. A little fantasy little fantasy note there. We Pat, you drafted Brandon Allen last year early and everyone was giving you shit. I drafted him this year for a specific reason and it was this and it was for this reason only. If Brees Hall gets hurt, he was gonna be the cowbell and he's obviously doing that right now. So I actually think I won the better side of that bet. So Love you, brother. what else? We got Broncos 23, Chargers 17. Chargers can't figure it out. I don't know what's gonna happen here. I mean, some people are saying Harbaugh's on the hot seat, some people are not. obviously he's had his history as a coach, more so on the college side. But I mean, at what point do you start questioning, right? If this is right, maybe it's a coaching staff thing. Obviously, you have Mike McDaniel on the offensive side coming over from the Miami Dolphins. Something's clearly wrong there. I mean, they had a lot of potential kind of going into the season. So to me, I don't know. I I think there's trouble in paradise there. And like at a certain point when we're picking these next weeks, it's like you want to take in the historical pieces of the Chargers that they, you know, sure they they find a lot of losses, but they also win a couple games. They're usually mid five hundred team. And I don't know, like it it's kind of hard for me to do at this point. I actually think that the Chargers might be the last team to get a win. Out of the those who don't have a win right now. not looking good. Broncos, obviously they come out with a W, but they they're look they're not looking too good either. I know Sean Payton took over the offensive you know scheme and and play calling, so I obviously I guess it worked out here, but I would have expected them to beat him by more to be honest. but clearly not the Denver Broncos that were here last year. I think that's safe to say. but look, still early in the season, we'll see where we go from there. Detroit Lions 45, Cardinals 21. Not much to say here. I mean, I I think everyone kind of saw this on the the writing on the wall here. golf's golf and Detroit are kind of getting back into their groove, which is good. I guess we'll see what happened. McBride had a crazy crash in this game. he's unreal, man. That that's just a side note there. But yeah, Cardinals are just really bad, man. I I I've I almost feel more bad for them. Than I feel for the Jets or any other organization that typically has been bad. So I guess we'll see where that goes. 49ers 32, Seahawks 29. Now, this one is impressive. They're in Seattle and they pulled this out. They've been looking good all season. The 49ers are legit. I need everyone to know that the 49ers are very, very, very good. Honestly, up until this point, they're probably the only team that has looked Really consistent. Like no week that they've looked bad. they've been playing up to their competition, they don't play down to their competition. I don't know, man. I I think this is this might be an early like Super Bowl contender at this point. Like I know it's early to be saying that, but I I don't see why like I'm obviously bearing like some serious injuries and they've had injury issues in the past, so that could very much happen. but to me the forty niners pull this one out, man. I I I don't know. Let let's see kind of where they go, but I I'm feeling good about the forty nineers right now. The Seahawks I'm not worried about. I think that they'll figure it out. They're a really good team too. they obviously just have a lot of chemistry. so they'll figure it out. But dropping one at home there is you know, it's a note. It's a note for them for sure, but better note for the 49ers to pull out a win in Seattle in a tough environment. whoo Sunday night. Ravens thirty, Falcons twenty-three. my god. I mean, this was a battle. Lamar's out, no one knows what's gonna happen. Derrick Henry does his thing. B. John Robinson does his thing again. Frickin' animal. but honestly, to me, the the story is is like if Penix isn't there, the Falcons just don't click, right? Obviously, it was only a couple plays that Tua came in, so you can say what you want. Maybe don't be as judgmental to him. but you're a professional quarterback. And it's not like you're just been a backup for a long time. Like you were a starter in Miami, you showed flashes of being really good. This guy came in and threw a pick like on that final drive when they actually had a chance. Honestly, to me, like like I said earlier in the podcast, I was literally racing to my phone the second he came in because I knew he was gonna do a an interception. And honestly, I think the bookies knew that they were that was the case too, because DraftKings didn't offer it. And I was like, they're not doing it for a reason. The whole world would have put that in. But look. Solid win by the Ravens. You gotta give them credit here. That I mean that's really what it comes down to. Falcons were on a little streak there. They got a rebound. I think they have another tough game. So I guess we'll see where that goes. Monday night. Monday, Monday night. Shout out Pete. Bills 37, Rams 34. This one went to overtime. This one was a freaking scoring battle. hell of a Monday night game. Really tough loss for the Rams. they're home. Bills pull it out. Look, Bills are another team that look very, very solid. they're in the 49ers category for sure. they just keep finding ways to pull out wins. I like their head coach, man. after that whole change, I think like the the whole team was vibing with him. And it's clear that that transition was a lot easier than you know, than people thought. it's it's really hard for a head coach to kind of come in. Obviously he knows the system and everything, but it's just a different scheme when you're a head coach. You got a lot more responsibility, you got a lot more things they gotta manage throughout the game, but he's obviously been able to figure it out. Josh Allen is looking VP ish at this point. Yeah, man, I This is just a solid win by the Bills. Freaking hate that they're in the AFC East. We're never gonna be able to come out of it with these teams being so good. That just means we gotta level up, folks, and we're getting there. So we'll see. I left a few games out because the next segment is that was these close. Pete texted me his this close moments, and his was the Commander's Giants. which ended in a tie 27 to 27. I mean, geez. look, Carball is just he's a fighter in this one. I think both teams had opportunities to win. so there's a lot of mistakes that could have gone either way. I I mean, really Dan Quinn has got to be pissed off at the quarterback Jalen Daniels, though, because there's a couple opportunities there that, you know, could have solidified it for the commanders. I don't know if this is the best case scenario. I mean, obviously, for those who picked the Giants in the pool, you got it, right? Plus three. but this was this is crazy. I mean, like they were this close, both teams, to winning. So that's valid Pete. It's a good call there. my this close moment was the Jaguars Eagles game. Now, this was the London game, so it was early on Sunday for the Eastern folks. I mean, this was pretty cool. Like it came down to the wire. Eagles. They had a lot of injuries. They were able to kind of keep it in close. Jaguars are a good team. So the fact that they're being they're able to do that with an injured squad, I think people are overreacting on how, you know, bad the Eagles have been. I still think that they're a good organization. I still think that they can figure it out. They're they're a nucleus that's been together for a little while now. Sure, they're dealing with some injuries, and this is a bad loss in a way. They could have done a couple things. Like my Eagle fans were messaging me and they were like, On that last kick, you gotta just squibble it, right? Why do you give them an opportunity to run it back to to that place so that they can, you know, so that they can do the kickoff. the the winning kick. So I I don't know. To to me, this was a really fortunate win for the Jaguars. I think the Eagles are in a little trouble. I think that they need to figure it out. I think if it was any other franchise, then it would be a little harder for them to bounce back. I think they could do it. They're home next week, so I don't know. This this this can go downhill for the Eagles. Shout out to Bueller, gotta give you shit. Just because you're my best friend. but we'll see. So that does it for I was cli this close moment. let's go to the locks and hell Marys, folks. what happened last week? So Pete had his lock a week was Raiders plus three and a half. They obviously got killed by the Pat, so he lost that one. The Fade Bros are back. long shot. Pete's long shot was Saints plus one and a half. That also loss. He loves the Saints this year. I don't know what his deal it is is with that. I mean, sure, they showed a little couple flashes in the beginning. They're fighting, but I don't like them that much. So that's a two losses for Pedro. your boy Mike gets back in the win column. only for one game. So for my lock of the week, I had the Giants plus three and a half. Obviously, that ended a tie. So your boy got that. Kaching. then we got long shot, Cardinals plus four and a half. Clearly it was wrong there. I like me a dog man. I I think the Cardinals do fight for the most part. even though they usually come out on the wrong end of it, but that was a loss. So right now our records, Pete's record is four and six, I am three and seven. Clearly not doing well, folks. So you're welcome. We're giving you your free picks of the week, okay? Just fade us. Just fade us. week six. Pete also texted me his lock and long shot. Pete's lock of the week is the Saints plus one and a half. Who are they playing? Let's check it. Picks. Where are you, Saints? the G-men. And they're visiting MentLife. So plus one and a half. I mean, I guess that does make sense. again, I guess he just loves the Saints. I don't I I don't know why. I mean, for him to do it at the lock of the week, I think that there's other matchups that could have been better here. So I'm not with you on this one, Pete, but we'll see. his long shot is the Chargers plus eight and a half, and the Chargers are playing the Chiefs. So I could just read we. Pete and I read each other's minds. We know what we're thinking. So he's obviously thinking this is a divisional matchup. back's against the wall. They need to do everything in their mind to kind of come back and and get a win here. Obviously with plus point plus eight and a half, it's a lot of points for a divisional matchup. I don't hate it. I really don't hate it. I was going back and forth on my matchups and I was potentially thinking about putting this one in. I think the world's obviously gonna be the Chiefs, but with that spread so high, it being a divisional game, Chargers don't have a win, like they're gonna be itching. And usually teams play down to their competition, right? I know it's the Chiefs, I know that they're historically a professional franchise and they play their matchups the right way. but these are also in the four o'clock window too. And I also feel like just four o'clock games are Weird. They're just weird. All the time they're weird. So I feel you, Pete. I don't hate it. I like it as a long shot. on to mine. So, lock of the week, folks. I got Browns plus four and a half against the Ravens. Okay, again, this is a divisional game. They're at home. They just came off a bad loss to the Jets. I don't think Lamar's back. I guess that's a big pending piece there. But to me, the Ravens, Cleveland Browns games have always been close. And it's always a hostile environment in Cleveland. Wha especially if they have a record like this and they can continue to have a little momentum here. Ravens are coming off of a a big win, so they could be a little exhausted there on that piece. Yeah, to me, I I think that this this stays close. So if you're gonna give me points, I'm gonna go with the Browns. Okay. so that's my lock of the week. Long shot. We got the Raiders. The Raiders bouncing back. They're getting five and a half points at home against the Bills. Okay. Bills just came off of a wild win, overtime win. So it's a short week for them. I think the Raiders are looking to bounce back. And if you're telling me that they can still lose and I can win. I mean to me this is a no-brainer. like honestly, I was debating on putting it for my lock of the week. So long shot, five and a half, Raiders. Don't fade me this week. You'll regret it. where are we at? Did we just zoom through the episode? Pete, I'm missing you, man. Self to say without ya. I think we did. folks, that's gonna do it. That's episode five. Of season two of Four Fimpania podcast. thank you for being with us, folks. it was a tough one. All right. First rodeo just on my own here. So hopefully I did all right. I'm excited for this next week, and I think your boy might have a little luck here. I have a little different strategy that's happening. So I'm hoping for a little luck, but I think I'm gonna be in the higher rankings this week. So look out for your boy, okay? congrats again to Steffi for winning. that's a thousand dollars in your pocket, girl. Forget saving it. Do something fun for yourself, buy yourself something, you deserve it. You're the best. I'm Commission Bones, Commission Poppy is not here, so he's already in the locker room, and I'm gonna be heading to the locker room right now. Remember, it's not just football here, it's La Familia. Until next week. Doses
