- 1:14Hello, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Brett Keene and you
- 1:17are watching, listening to the Brett Keene Show.
- 1:20God, TV, radio. I hope you're all having a
- 1:23wonderful day out there. Today we're going to be playing
- 1:26some Baldur's Gate 3, and we're going to discuss games as well
- 1:31as politics, as well as what's happening in the world.
- 1:36Yay, good stuff. As many of you know, Balder's
- 1:42Gate 3 has the same history as Dragon's Dogma.
- 1:45Dragon's Dogma was one of those games where it just started out
- 1:49and took several years before they got around to actually
- 1:53making a sequel and making one that's more enhanced and more
- 1:56better. A lot of people out there, they
- 1:59ask me, bro, why are you so into RPGs and why have you been like
- 2:03such a fan of Bethesda? Well, I like games with
- 2:06different alternatives. I've played thousands of games
- 2:10where you're just playing A2 dimensional character with a
- 2:13storyline already behind it doing your thing.
- 2:16But I like games where you can create your own character, and
- 2:19usually whenever I'm creating a character, I create one.
- 2:23That is what it would be me if I lived in that world.
- 2:27I like to immerse myself. I like to feel like I've
- 2:30invested myself into the actual world.
- 2:33And then of course, any achievement or accomplishment
- 2:37that I do, it makes me feel really good.
- 2:39Video games can really help yourself esteem, you know, In
- 2:43normal life, I'm just a guy who pays bills.
- 2:46I go out and I get groceries for my family and we try to do our
- 2:50thing. But in the video game world, I
- 2:52can be the Dragonborn or the star born or, you know, the
- 2:56hero. I do like games where you start
- 3:00out being a nobody, though, and you basically build yourself up.
- 3:04And I've also been really getting into indie games where
- 3:07you kind of just, you know, just build yourself up, but you're
- 3:13not really meant to be like some kind of superhero or villain or
- 3:17anything like that. You just kind of living off the
- 3:20land, so I've been getting into a lot of survival type of games
- 3:24lately. I do like that.
- 3:26I think that one of the best survival modes that I've played
- 3:30in a game is Fallout 4, where you eat, then you're affected by
- 3:34the cold and all that. Skyrim survival mode wasn't too
- 3:39bad, but Fallout 4 was excellent.
- 3:42The crafting system was a lot more intuitive, a lot more
- 3:45easier for me, so I enjoyed that.
- 3:50Well, Boulder's Gate 3, it offers a lot of alternatives, It
- 3:57offers a lot of alternate endings, You can meet people,
- 4:02make companions and all that. That's one of my favorite things
- 4:05about games nowadays. A lot of my friends and a lot of
- 4:12people out there when you play like an MMO or an RPG, a lot of
- 4:16people for some reason they're more concerned with leveling up
- 4:20really fast or getting to the late in the content of games
- 4:25like World of Warcraft. And they don't spend much time
- 4:28exploring or really immersing themselves into a game.
- 4:33So I find playing with other people to be annoying.
- 4:36I mean, even in World of Warcraft, I got burnt out with
- 4:39my own brother because he didn't want to, you know, explore Elwyn
- 4:44Forest. He didn't want to look around
- 4:46Westfall for treasures or or see anything.
- 4:50He just wanted to, like, get through the quest until he was a
- 4:53high enough level where he could just repeat and rinse, dungeon
- 4:57after dungeon after raid after raid.
- 5:00And I mean, folks, what's what's the point of doing a game if
- 5:06you're just going to do the same thing over and over again?
- 5:09If I do do repeat playthroughs in a game, it's because I want
- 5:13to try new stuff, I want to try something different.
- 5:17And a lot of people, they don't have that way of thought
- 5:21process. So for me, when a game offers
- 5:24like companions, I just heard recently that the new expansion
- 5:28of World of Warcraft is going to offer people the ability to go
- 5:32into dungeons with AI. I went into over 50 dungeons
- 5:37since I just started playing World of Warcraft recently and
- 5:43it's annoying, it's boring. A lot of the characters are
- 5:47nursed out where the warrior doesn't even hardly need a
- 5:51healer anymore. They can just go in and they
- 5:54just run through it and grab as many mobs as they possibly can.
- 5:58And you get this because you got a lot of these narcissistic
- 6:01people that are like, look at me and IA great tank, and they end
- 6:05up grabbing mob after mob after mob.
- 6:07And of course, if you fire into that mod, you're going to aggro
- 6:11and then bring several characters on yourself and have
- 6:14to fight them. And a lot of these things, they
- 6:17don't even bother to do anything.
- 6:20Hey, my son just came in. I'm sitting here talking about
- 6:23RPGSMMOS while doing a thing of this.
- 6:27You want to sit with me and talk?
- 6:28Sure. All right, we got Balder's Gate
- 6:33footage going and just sitting here having a conversation about
- 6:37the different games. So Skyrim just recently got an
- 6:42update. Today they changed the entire
- 6:45mod set up where people can now do pay mods.
- 6:49A person build something really awesome, they can get paid for
- 6:53it. How do you feel about that?
- 6:56So you're saying they changed that creation kit?
- 6:58The Creation Club is now in installed with the mods
- 7:03themselves. So now when you go, you'll see
- 7:05all their stuff at the top and then all the modders underneath.
- 7:08And now whenever you upload a mod, people can buy it.
- 7:12They can also put it up for free, but it was Bethesda's way
- 7:15of making a percentage off of things.
- 7:17You may want to let me put the microphone over this way for you
- 7:21so you can be heard more clear all.
- 7:23Right. So they integrated the public
- 7:29mods into the microtransaction system for the OK, That sounds
- 7:39neat. And they're also recreating the
- 7:42Creation Kit. So it's a lot more intuitive
- 7:44where a normal, you know, layman person who doesn't know much
- 7:48about scripting will be able to get in there and say, oh, I'd
- 7:52like to make myself a companion or make a quest for the game or
- 7:56do something to items and all that kind of stuff.
- 7:59They just got them doing that with Skyrim and and a little
- 8:02bit. I'm going to check out the new
- 8:04system. I looked at some videos, aren't
- 8:06it? It looks interesting, and
- 8:09supposedly they're supposed to add more mod space.
- 8:12Well, if they're able to do that with Skyrim, I don't see why
- 8:15they wouldn't be able to do it with Fallout 4.
- 8:17Well, they are. They're going to do it with
- 8:18Fallout 4, and they're going to do it with Starfield.
- 8:21That's a tall. Order.
- 8:23Yeah, but they they're starting with that first, then Fallout 4,
- 8:27then Starfield. And they're supposed to get all
- 8:29this done before the end of December.
- 8:32But Skyrim's already complete more space, more mods, more all
- 8:36that kind of stuff. So it's interesting.
- 8:39Goodness gracious, the creative character in this game is
- 8:44extensive. So what's your favorite kind of
- 8:48games you've been playing? The The Rain game.
- 8:50Rain Two? Talk a little bit about that,
- 8:52but you got to talk at the mic. Yeah, I know.
- 8:56Risk of Rain? Two.
- 8:58It's a third person rogue like now.
- 9:01It isn't just more so in the third person shooter or RPGs.
- 9:06Doesn't have to be both, but usually I try to avoid first
- 9:12person shooters or first person rogue lights.
- 9:14There's not a lot of those out there, but still, man, it's run
- 9:18into them whenever I'm looking for the ones I do like.
- 9:23I'm going to be doing this for just a little while and then
- 9:25I'll come in and we'll talk more, unless you want to chat
- 9:29with me on this video. I want mine.
- 9:33OK, sounds good. And my son, he just came over
- 9:37and everything to visit and kind of surprised me a little bit
- 9:41while I was in the middle of the broadcast.
- 9:43And as much as I like talking to you all out there, I always
- 9:46enjoy hanging out with my son more.
- 9:48But he's decided he's going to participate in this and then
- 9:52we'll move on from it. So you got to play Baldur's Gate
- 9:56a little bit. What's your thought process in
- 9:59this game? Well, learning and study is
- 10:05really went above and beyond to make sure it was you had as many
- 10:10options as possible and I like the that diversity when it comes
- 10:14to choices quite a bit and the impact it has on the story, it's
- 10:18very nice. What is what would you say is
- 10:21the difference between this and something like World of
- 10:24Warcraft, even whenever it comes to like character creation?
- 10:31Well, seems to be a lot of options like I said before.
- 10:39You get to like, create your own abilities and stuff and like
- 10:43really customize how your character is going to play on
- 10:47the screen. Yeah, there's a lot of fine
- 10:49tuning right as far as the the kit goes with starting
- 10:53abilities, and I'm not sure how learning new abilities works if
- 10:56you have to get skill books or if it's a skill tree or what it
- 11:00may be. I just found out about World of
- 11:04Warcraft is about to add a new expansion where they have
- 11:07artificial intelligence. You will no longer have to wait
- 11:11for a load time to get into dungeons and World of Warcraft.
- 11:15You'll get a if some humans can come with you if you got an
- 11:20entire group, but if you don't you can.
- 11:22AI will fill the place and people have been playing the
- 11:26public test server to see what that's like, and so far it's
- 11:30pretty cool. Unfortunately, the AI seems to
- 11:33only be installed on the Dragonflight dungeons right now,
- 11:36and there's tons of them, but I'm hoping that they make it to
- 11:40where you know, you can go into something like the Dead Mines or
- 11:43Raging Chasm and all that with that 'cause I get so tired of
- 11:48it. I've been in a / 50 dungeons
- 11:50already with pug groups and they run ahead.
- 11:54I like I got a death Knight recently.
- 11:56Oh yeah, by the way, you remember I had said, hey son,
- 12:00can you help me with this? Well, I went in to do the Death
- 12:02Knight and they changed the entire introduction.
- 12:06So now all you do is you end up in the Ice Citadel and you go up
- 12:10and you talk to the Lich King while he's in ice and he says
- 12:14you are now a, you know, a death knight and go on my death
- 12:19Warrior, blah blah blah, do your thing and then you go through a
- 12:22portal and while you're in storm, there's no big long
- 12:26process like before. Well, is there a way to do the
- 12:30big long process? Because I did like a lot of the
- 12:33flavor having surrounding the fight on The Crusaders or
- 12:37whatever they're called the the Scarlet.
- 12:40Yeah. Oh, you're asking is there a way
- 12:43to be able to do the old content?
- 12:45Yeah, the the vanilla Wrath Lich King.
- 12:49Yes. Once you get out of the Ice
- 12:51Citadel and you appear in front of Stormwind, you're giving all
- 12:54these little buttons at the bottom, and one of them is the
- 12:57gate thing. The Death Gate.
- 13:00Yeah, the Death Gate. And you can go through that.
- 13:03And then go through one of those.
- 13:05You remember how you stand on a platform and that warps you down
- 13:09to the second level. So yeah, you do that.
- 13:12You get your sword all ruined up and then you could go do that if
- 13:16you wanted to. But what's cool about it is you
- 13:19could run around and quest up, level up, and then come back and
- 13:23do it if you want to, at a more higher level to do it.
- 13:27Yeah, yeah, I'll. Have to sit on that because
- 13:30that's the first time I'm hearing about it.
- 13:32I didn't know either. Remember trying to do a death
- 13:35knight a while back? My son is really gifted a death
- 13:38knight. You should have seen him in PvP.
- 13:40He was bigoted and hateful to all those people, Killed every
- 13:44single thing in front of him. It was awesome.
- 13:47And dungeons. He was unstoppable even before
- 13:49the game became nerfed. Well now you don't have to do a
- 13:52long, you know, two hour long intro.
- 13:56You can just get out of there and just come back whenever you
- 13:58want. And a lot of things in Warcraft
- 14:01seems to be our convenience table.
- 14:04All right, So Baldur's Gate, I think.
- 14:07I feel as though, even though the game is very customizable, I
- 14:11feel like the intro's a little. It's just a little.
- 14:16I like it. Whenever you start a game in the
- 14:19tutorial area is like really simple right now.
- 14:23You're like on an alien ship or something, and you're talking to
- 14:28like right here we're about to talk to a a brain and pull it
- 14:32out of its head. It seems like there was just too
- 14:34much at the very beginning. How do you feel about that?
- 14:36Do you like getting thrown right into the game, or do you prefer
- 14:40kind of like a war cut to restart out of North Shire and
- 14:43just kill a couple wolves and get the hang of the game?
- 14:48It was a lot at once. We'll say that please before
- 14:51they return. I I believe that it just comes
- 14:58down to whether you want a blank slate or a lot of flare and
- 15:03fireworks when you first get in, like congratulations, you're in
- 15:06the game. I feel like that's the second
- 15:10one was the route this game went with it, but I always appreciate
- 15:15getting in the little kids sandbox at 1st and then being
- 15:18allowed into the world later on. It just kind of depends on the
- 15:23game. I don't think it was the wrong
- 15:25way to do it. Well, don't you?
- 15:28Don't you feel a little weird? I mean, let me let me give you
- 15:31an example. If I were to ask you, how did we
- 15:33even get on the ship in the 1st place?
- 15:36Why are we tied up? And what the hell is these
- 15:39little worm maggots that got put in my eyeball?
- 15:42Yeah, it makes you ask a lot of questions right at the
- 15:44beginning. But I think as long as it has
- 15:49the, I guess, integrity to answer those questions and the
- 15:54creativity to make you ask more later, you know that they could
- 15:58probably keep that train of mystery going on for a while.
- 16:03Well, as people know, whenever I do my broadcast, I like to jump
- 16:06all over the place in different conversations whenever I think
- 16:09of something neat. So I don't know if you've heard,
- 16:12but they have made, I think I spoke to you a little bit about
- 16:16this. They are working on the new
- 16:19Highlander movie and Henry Cavilla is going to be the main
- 16:22Highlander. How do you feel about that?
- 16:24Well, I feel like we're jumping around topics quite a bit, but I
- 16:28am excited to see that. I feel like he'd be great for
- 16:32the role and I think a lot of people would accept him a lot,
- 16:36especially since he's coming off the the road from what is it,
- 16:42The Witcher and the Superman role as well.
- 16:49Yeah, The Witcher. We actually got to see some of
- 16:51his sword abilities. So I think that watching Henry
- 16:56Cavill and the way they do edits nowadays and videos, I think
- 17:00that, you know, after watching a lot of reruns of Duncan McLeod
- 17:04and Connor, it was good sword fighting.
- 17:07But you kind of can tell that the enemies are swinging way too
- 17:11high to make sure they don't cut each other.
- 17:13They say that a lot of people got chopped up in the Highlander
- 17:17for real because Christopher Lambert was practically blind.
- 17:21He couldn't see, so people had to swing their sword directly at
- 17:24them. And you can kind of notice that
- 17:26when you go back and watch. But I'm wondering, one of the
- 17:29things that made Highlander interesting was Queen music.
- 17:34What are they going to do with this?
- 17:36You know, because if they put like hip hop at the beginning of
- 17:39the theme song of Highlander, I don't think people are going to
- 17:42buy it. I'm not sure what music they
- 17:46could use, but the only thing I'm for sure on is that they're
- 17:51probably not going to make Henry Cavill like a villainous
- 17:54Highland because he seems to be getting typecast into heroic or
- 17:58anti hero type moles. So he'd probably be on the
- 18:04winning team. It's true, Boy, this game looks
- 18:11rough. Dead.
- 18:14Well, the yeah, but I mean the graphics are really nice.
- 18:17The presentation is on point. Oh goodness.
- 18:23I've been trying to figure out a way to stream video games from
- 18:28Xbox to the PC because they don't have an app to allow that.
- 18:33You can do it on Twitch, but it's a it's a pain in the Ace.
- 18:38You know that I've always said I like Xbox more than PS4 or PS5,
- 18:43but PS4 was really easy to live stream as where Xbox isn't seems
- 18:49like a better recording but you can't just plug your microphone
- 18:52into the machine and make it work and it's pretty horrific.
- 18:58So yeah, assume they're going to be coming out with an expansion
- 19:01of war within a World of Warcraft, all that AI and neat
- 19:06stuff. Now boulders gate, the combat is
- 19:10obviously a lot different. There's a lot more strategy to
- 19:15it is where Warcraft is more like a turn based game where you
- 19:19just kind of take turns pounding each other back and forth until
- 19:23somebody goes bye bye and there's that.
- 19:26Let me know out there in the comments if you guys want to see
- 19:29some more World of Warcraft footage and all that.
- 19:32Yep, Yep, Yep, Let's see. So I was talking a little bit
- 19:36about Dragon Dogma 2 coming out. I've been watching a lot of
- 19:39footage. Apparently some people have been
- 19:41given a free copy of it, and it looks it definitely blows Skyrim
- 19:47out of the water. It looks graphically as good as
- 19:49something like Starfield, and it's got a pawn system and it
- 19:55makes it more easier to create as many pawns as you want and
- 20:00switch them out and stuff. That's gonna be pretty neat.
- 20:03It seems like the game is maybe not directly competing with
- 20:09Dragon Age, since that's a a much older game, but it is as
- 20:15term as term as genres go very similar.
- 20:20You know you have the party based third person combat,
- 20:23medieval age you got to. I don't know if they're going to
- 20:27follow the Risen main story like they did with the first game,
- 20:32but it had a similar feel to the Inquisition from the Dragon Age.
- 20:373rd game And So what do you think about all this?
- 20:43I really, really believe that in the next within, from here to
- 20:48the next 10 years, we're going to be seeing some games do some
- 20:52extraordinary jumps in technology, environments,
- 20:57character building and all that due to artificial intelligence.
- 21:00Like literally right now if I wanted to I could go to ChatGPT
- 21:05and say can you write a script for me?
- 21:09I can actually get a script for a storyline, for a quest.
- 21:12And then with the new Creation Kit I can simply use AI to say I
- 21:17need the script in order to make it to where this character does
- 21:21this or this and and a quest or movement.
- 21:24So I really think that if Warcraft's already starting to
- 21:28do it, Bethesda, they've already got some AI and Skyrim as well
- 21:32as Fallout 4. Now if they start really getting
- 21:36into that, I think the games are going to get huge and a lot more
- 21:41will be seen. How do you feel about artificial
- 21:43intelligence? Well, 10 years ago, I could have
- 21:46told you that graphics were going to get better, performance
- 21:49was going to get higher. I had no idea that AI was going
- 21:53to come out and be as uncanny as it was, and how it could fool
- 21:57somebody in thinking that somebody's actually talking to
- 21:59you. It's another thing.
- 22:01Yeah, it's yeah, it's looking pretty interesting seeing get
- 22:07integrated in the games that we like much as it is.
- 22:11I seen something that kind of terrified me with AI recently.
- 22:15Someone was playing Skyrim, and you know that little old woman
- 22:20that's off from Riverwood up in their own little house up in the
- 22:23mountain? Yeah, OK, well, this person took
- 22:26their AI up. There was a female playing
- 22:29Skyrim and she was sitting there talking to the lady and then her
- 22:33AI just suddenly bugged out and it stabbed the old woman with a
- 22:38sword and then held her up in the air, slammed her down.
- 22:41And then the girl asked the AI over the microphone.
- 22:44She said, why did you kill that old woman for her?
- 22:47I was talking to her and the AI said to her, and a woman's voice
- 22:52said that wasn't me and she goes, what do you mean it wasn't
- 22:56you? I just watched you, the woman,
- 22:59everybody who was watching the video seen it.
- 23:02She goes you might have been thinking of something else
- 23:05because I didn't do it. I would never kill anyone unless
- 23:08you told me to because she's literally arguing back and forth
- 23:12with the AI and the AI is lying it's ass off saying no, I didn't
- 23:16do that. So that was pretty.
- 23:19That was pretty weird. I didn't think artificial
- 23:22intelligence had the ability to lie.
- 23:26Find it bugged out and not realized what it did?
- 23:28Not sure. It's supposed to keep a log of
- 23:32their experiences. Like you can say what did we do
- 23:362 quest ago? And the AI will say, well we
- 23:39took on a dragon and it was a phenomenal fight and all that
- 23:43and it'll talk all dramatic about it.
- 23:45But whenever she told it to, you know, rewind back to what it did
- 23:50and it said, it even lied and said I'm sorry but I don't have
- 23:54anything in my log about me killing anything.
- 23:56So it just continuously lied. It kind of reminds me of Skynet
- 24:01Terminator a little bit. I don't think the AI is going to
- 24:07be 100% perfect because after all, you're going to think that
- 24:11it's also made by human beings that are not perfect.
- 24:14So I kind of take on those crates sometimes, I guess.
- 24:21I'm not saying that that behaviors are transferred, but,
- 24:25you know, you could make a slip up in coding and pause something
- 24:29that resembles human behavior and equate it to that, you know,
- 24:34being a hip cup of with the AI. But obviously whoever put in the
- 24:38mod may have completely unrecognizable at first done.
- 24:43Some kind of history type typo, you know, I don't know.
- 24:48I hear you there. I'm not sure how it works.
- 24:50Console remains. There's a YouTuber out there
- 24:53called I am Crusty or Crust or something like that where he
- 24:57does VR and AI with gyrum and it's crazy.
- 25:02Brings this kid around with him whenever he's going out doing
- 25:05this thing and for whatever reason, just to be funny, I
- 25:09guess he'll reach out in VR, grab the kid by the arm or the
- 25:13top of the head and sling the kid off and make him land in a
- 25:17river or something like that. I'm like, damn, you can actually
- 25:21grab people and like, hold them hostage when someone's throwing
- 25:24arrows at you or something. Yeah, I've seen that.
- 25:28I don't how did they manage to do that?
- 25:30But you can't do any of that kind of stuff in the if you're
- 25:34playing with a controller. Well, I think it has to do with
- 25:41how you're controlling the character with the controller.
- 25:45By changing the camera and just moving your X&Y position with
- 25:51the left stick. With the VR you're able to
- 25:56simulate your character's arms movements with to individual
- 26:00controllers to images and open space, which is 3D Yankee
- 26:05Warrior and just kind of take control of the rag doll system
- 26:09to make it look like you're grabbing things.
- 26:11I mean, I I'm sure it's a very difficult thing to code, but I
- 26:17think that's the cut and dry of it to have to imagine.
- 26:24If you could create your own game.
- 26:27You and I, we talked about this before, but I think people out
- 26:30there find this interesting. If you were given a huge budget
- 26:34and you could make a game, do you have any idea what kind of
- 26:37story it would be? Would it be a ninja?
- 26:39Would it be like Fallout? I mean, what would you do with
- 26:42something if you had full control?
- 26:46Let's let's answer changes depending on what.
- 26:52Here it is for me because I I play different things all the
- 26:54time. But I think I've given the same
- 26:58answer that a rogue like type game with lots of side quests to
- 27:05do and unlocks to get would be my type of game I'd want to
- 27:11make. I probably wouldn't go overboard
- 27:14with the graphics or anything, but I would make the gameplay
- 27:18very tight and responsive and fun to manage and all that
- 27:22thing. See any other parts you'd want
- 27:29to add to that, like Easter eggs.
- 27:33Well, I've never been too big on like a that kind of stuff.
- 27:39I'm mostly an explorer, like to find all kinds of items.
- 27:42I was just going on earlier about what it's like nowadays.
- 27:47I see that World of Warcraft has gotten more advanced and
- 27:51graphically better, but the people, the community still, you
- 27:56know, just kind of run through everything, type of attitude.
- 27:59That's why I'm looking forward to AI, so I can take my time
- 28:03with stuff. Boy, this game looks crazy.
- 28:06It almost looks like a movie sometimes.
- 28:09Yeah, a lot of cinema stuff in this one.
- 28:14They do a really good job, but I guess the camera work and the
- 28:20lighting really adds a lot in a like a depth of you being in the
- 28:26moment with the characters like you're really standing there.
- 28:30Another game they made, Larian did Divinity 2, didn't have the
- 28:34same what I just said, they can't work with lighting.
- 28:38They mostly relied on the combat to carry the game, so they
- 28:43really went in a different direction.
- 28:45They can't. They kept the main gameplay
- 28:46loop, but they kind of allowed you to flow with the characters
- 28:50better than be in their shoes, I guess.
- 28:54What's your favorite kind of combat system when playing a
- 28:57game? I mean, do you prefer shooters,
- 28:59RPGs, what? What are you mostly into that
- 29:04brings you enjoyment? I think the most third person
- 29:13shooting seems to be the one I can handle for the longest time
- 29:19for like 40 minutes at a time. I can handle like I get the most
- 29:23excitement from probably third person like sword fighting type
- 29:27games, as odd as it sounds. But I can get invested enough to
- 29:35get angry at what's happening because I become the sore loser
- 29:38pretty quick in those scenarios. There's something really weighty
- 29:42and impactful about getting hit by a sword that makes you get
- 29:46the makes the stakes high. I guess you know it's supposed
- 29:50to get shot. The Warcraft has done something
- 29:54that a lot of games have done that you enjoy.
- 29:56They've created a Permadeff system and wild classic.
- 30:02How do you feel about that playing in a a game that could
- 30:05take years to be able to get anywhere in it and then you get
- 30:08killed and you can't come back? Well, I've heard some horror
- 30:13stories about players getting killed over baloney type
- 30:18situations. I saw a rate go down where
- 30:22somebody come on, pulled something into the wrong corner
- 30:25of the map and then it causes an electric some kind of like party
- 30:29wide wife of the whole group is pretty visceral, I got to say.
- 30:36And that's every person having to start from level 1 after
- 30:39losing that character. I don't think I actually would
- 30:44want to invest in something like that.
- 30:46I mean, there's hardcore and then there's like, I guess this,
- 30:53the risk factor is too high in a game like that because other
- 30:57people could mess you over. You could clip through the
- 31:00ground and die that way. Did you just mix?
- 31:03You know, I've seen a lot of things go wrong, how people can
- 31:07go down dangerous. But a lot of your games like
- 31:10Dark Souls that's got a perm and dust system right?
- 31:13I. I would say to the second game
- 31:18had a more penalizing to die. It wasn't exactly perma death,
- 31:26but you could lag behind and your currency is to make the
- 31:30game much harder on yourself, which for a lot of people would
- 31:35cause them to restart their game anyway.
- 31:40Also, there isn't really a chance as long as you didn't
- 31:45play online for you to get ganged online.
- 31:48You know, World of Warcraft is always online.
- 31:50Yeah, that's true. World of Warcraft's a lot worse
- 31:53than that. And for a guy like me who's well
- 31:56known on the Internet, I mean, there was people used to record
- 32:01videos and streams a while back where they'd hunt my ass all
- 32:04over the place. And if I'm live streaming at the
- 32:07time where I'm at, or my location, people who played
- 32:11Warcraft for a long time, they'll be like, oh, I know
- 32:13where he's at. And especially since I'm very
- 32:16informed about where I'm at in the 1st place.
- 32:19Doesn't take a genius to find out, you know, where is Brett
- 32:22Keene at in the game? So you have the whole
- 32:24permadeaths system in a online game is just no good for me.
- 32:29I can't do that. Yeah, I believe I've heard a
- 32:32term for that called stream sniping where you interrupt the
- 32:36stream by seeing what somebody's doing and basically strategize
- 32:43to kind of stop what your goal was.
- 32:47Yeah, I had some people a while back that haunted me and my
- 32:50brother down and wanted to gank us level 100 versus level 60s.
- 32:55That wasn't very nice at all because you know, you could be a
- 32:59level. If you got a person who's level
- 33:02100, it could be a 5 year old banging on the keyboard and
- 33:04they'll be able to beat you. It doesn't take any skill.
- 33:07That was one of the problems I always had with games like World
- 33:10of Warcraft. It wasn't about skill.
- 33:12It was about what kind of gear you were wearing and you know
- 33:18how much more level system you had over somebody else.
- 33:23That's why I like games like Skyrim.
- 33:25If you're good, you could be able to take on something that's
- 33:28much higher level than you. Yeah.
- 33:32Oh boy. Is there anything that you've
- 33:34seen lately on Steam or console that you think is going to be an
- 33:38interesting game in the future? Well, we already mentioned
- 33:44Dragon Dogma 2, State of Decay Three had a trailer a while
- 33:49back, but that hasn't I haven't seen that in any stores yet.
- 33:54Let's see, Risk. Your Brain too is getting a new
- 34:01DLC, apparently. That's more for me though.
- 34:07Let's see. Do you have you heard anything
- 34:12about Elder Scrolls 6 yet? I've been hearing a lot about
- 34:15it, but that doesn't seem like that's going to be out for
- 34:18another few years. Wow, that's sad.
- 34:21Probably going to put the nuts and bolts to the creation kit
- 34:26before they get around to that I guess.
- 34:29Well, ladies and gentlemen, the next live stream I do, I think
- 34:33I'm going to talk about DeSantis and Donald Trump and some more
- 34:37political stuff. But I wanted to hang out with my
- 34:40son, do some more games. I'm going to show him something
- 34:43real quick and then go out, throw some cookies down his
- 34:46throat and perhaps some homemade chicken noodle that the Mama
- 34:50bear made. I hope you guys all enjoyed
- 34:52this. I don't want to play too much
- 34:54more. Put any more content out there
- 34:56of this 'cause it'll ruin it for you.
- 34:58This is one of those games where you create your own storyline,
- 35:02and I don't want to spoil it for you.
- 35:04This is just a tutorial area. Your introduction.
- 35:08God bless. Have a good one, ladies and
- 35:10gentlemen.
