  good afternoon ladies and gentlemen welcome to today's ngx midday update at the moment you have the all share index is down 0.89 index measures the average performance of stocks and you're seeing the banking names a lot of the banking names actually in the red uh largely due to tips you're seeing in uba access corporation fidelity bank first old con fcnb uh uba the negative um

  sentiment around the stock is due to the fact that uh they will not be paying a full year dividend and so they dropped their results last week friday audited fy 2025 numbers on friday after trading hours and uh they were quite disappointing so we are having investors react negatively to those numbers uba is currently the worst performing stock at the moment it's down by 10 percent trading at 49 naira 50 couple a share you have fidelity bank

  down by nine point eight percent straight at twenty nine ten couple assets corporation is down by nine point nine percent trading at twenty eight not twenty couple and then you have first hold go down by nine point three three percent is trading at sixty eight naira um so a lot of the banking names are in the red i guess due to sentiments uh the due to investors acting or believing that maybe because uh uba numbers were quite poor uh maybe

  might be time to to to you know cut down or trim down their holdings in the banking space on the gainer side of things which is is up on ten percent trading at seventeen naira sixteen couple um abe is recovering up nine point two six percent straight at five naira ninety couple um custodian is up six point two three percent straight in close to high street at eight five naira 30 couple

  a share so that's what we are seeing let's go look at um volume and value on the volume side of things as any bank proposition 48.6 million shares traded uh where my bank is next with 36.3 million shares traded on the value side of things as any bank with 6.2 billion naira worth of shares traded and then mtn nigeria with 1.9

  billionaire what of shares traded so before we round up the update i'm just checking the corporate disclosure page to see if there's any major announcements so far i expect this week that there will be a lot of um earnings so at the moment uh no new corporate disclosures so far um the video version of this goes up by 139 during time and so i'd encourage you to stay tuned try you know
