[SPEAKER_00]: And this week we are in for another treat.
• 0:36
  [SPEAKER_00]: I hope.
• 0:36
[SPEAKER_00]: that you will be so kind as to make sure you subscribe make sure you like make sure you share why because that allows us to let the internet know that hey there's something happening on this podcast allows us to get this message out to more people you know I've discovered this because a lot of times people love this small network of people and that's all
• 0:59
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes people are stingy with their messages.
• 1:01
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes people are like you know what I just want my try to get this and I'm all for it But that's for me.
• 1:07
[SPEAKER_00]: I want my try to get it and I also want my try to share this message out as well because there are people There are not in my ecosystem.
• 1:15
[SPEAKER_00]: There are people who are not in my network that you know that need this message today We're gonna talk a little bit about how growth
• 1:24
[SPEAKER_00]: doesn't always feel like growth.
• 1:26
[SPEAKER_00]: And let's pray God, thank you for our time together.
• 1:29
  [SPEAKER_00]: Bless us, amen.
• 1:31
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes as you're growing and you're developing and you are moving towards your goal.
• 1:39
[SPEAKER_00]: So you think, have you ever, ever, ever?
• 1:42
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's say you've been working out for a month and you've got on the scale.
• 1:47
  [SPEAKER_00]: Whoo!
• 1:47
  [SPEAKER_00]: You've been there before.
• 1:48
[SPEAKER_00]: You've been trying to eat, right?
• 1:50
[SPEAKER_00]: You've been, you've been doing your best to exercise.
• 1:53
[SPEAKER_00]: Have you ever gotten in the gym, or, I'm sorry, after the gym on day 30, have you ever gotten back on the scale and that scale, say it, um, at being budged?
• 2:05
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes you find yourself putting in work, you're putting in sweat, you're putting in later hours, you're trying to do your best.
• 2:11
[SPEAKER_00]: Have you ever gotten to a place where you like, oh, it feels like I am spinning my wheels.
• 2:18
[SPEAKER_00]: That's how growth in life sometimes feels.
• 2:21
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes as you're growing, as you're developing, as you're maturing, as you're moving forward, sometimes it doesn't feel like you're growing, developing maturing and moving forward.
• 2:33
[SPEAKER_00]: You've been there done that.
• 2:35
[SPEAKER_00]: If you haven't, I've got the T-shirt, I've got the trophy, I've got the plaque, I've been in those places in life where it feels as if I'm putting in all of this effort and nothing's happening.
• 2:47
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm putting in all this work and the results haven't changed and you know there is a there's a temptation for you and I to blame everybody else when that happens.
• 3:05
[SPEAKER_00]: We blame everybody else, but ourselves, tell me I'm lying.
• 3:09
  [SPEAKER_00]: You know it's true.
• 3:10
[SPEAKER_00]: We find ourselves when we, when we are putting in the work, so we think, when we're putting in the effort, so we think, when we're putting in the hours, so we think, and the stuff is not moving.
• 3:25
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes we don't want to take accountability.
• 3:30
[SPEAKER_00]: You see what happens sometimes in life is if you would look at the details because I heard it's all saying growing up in church back in the day and I didn't understand it at first.
• 3:42
[SPEAKER_00]: And I would hear people say it preachers and mothers of the church and mainly older people would often say the devil is in the details.
• 3:51
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, what are you talking about?
• 3:54
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's this kind of live from a movie like the devil.
• 3:57
[SPEAKER_00]: And what they were saying was, oftentimes in life, we only pay attention to the big picture and we leave the details up to chance.
• 4:09
[SPEAKER_00]: Oftentimes, I keep using this analogy because I think it's appropriate and you can get it.
• 4:15
[SPEAKER_00]: If we have a goal, like sometimes, we love to focus in on the goal.
• 4:20
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my goal is to have 300 followers.
• 4:24
[SPEAKER_00]: By and by, you got five followers right now and you're saying in 2026 or in 2027, whenever it is, you're saying my goal in one year is to have 300 followers, right?
• 4:34
  [SPEAKER_00]: Let's say that's that's you.
• 4:37
[SPEAKER_00]: your goal on your social media platforms is to have whatever many followers.
• 4:43
[SPEAKER_00]: Then when somebody asks you, right, two of your followers reached out to you this week, and they had a question about something.
• 4:50
[SPEAKER_00]: Could it be a question about a video you put out, a question about a post you put up, and you ignore those two followers, right?
• 4:59
[SPEAKER_00]: It's almost as if somebody has,
• 5:02
[SPEAKER_00]: two customers but they're praying and hoping for 500 customers, but you don't know how to serve two customers well.
• 5:10
[SPEAKER_00]: There's almost as if we, you know, sometimes we get blinded by the big picture, the big goal that we forget.
• 5:18
  [SPEAKER_00]: Don't miss this.
• 5:19
[SPEAKER_00]: That the details actually match
• 5:24
[SPEAKER_00]: see I found myself over the years going really hard in the gym.
• 5:28
  [SPEAKER_00]: That's the big goal.
• 5:29
[SPEAKER_00]: I found myself being at the gym one time.
• 5:32
[SPEAKER_00]: I found myself putting in serious work.
• 5:34
[SPEAKER_00]: But then after the gym I found myself over the years not paying attention to the details and so I'll either don't adhere.
• 5:41
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll eat us something that's not on my diet there and then when I get to the end of the month and I get on the scale and I wonder why it only moved two pounds.
• 5:49
[SPEAKER_00]: It only moved no pounds.
• 5:50
  [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't move any
• 5:52
[SPEAKER_00]: not only move five pounds, I'm thinking to myself, 10 pounds, I should have lost, but I didn't pay attention, and I wasn't serious about the details.
• 6:03
[SPEAKER_00]: What is it about your experience?
• 6:06
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, because some of you right now, you're working on some big projects.
• 6:09
[SPEAKER_00]: Some of you right now, you're working on some big business goals, you're working on some big educational goals, you're working on some big family goals, and you were ignoring the details.
• 6:21
[SPEAKER_00]: You want to save $1,000, but you keep going to McDonald's every day.
• 6:25
  [SPEAKER_00]: You're the only just $3, it's just $7.
• 6:28
[SPEAKER_00]: And you wonder why I can't reach that big goal?
• 6:31
  [SPEAKER_00]: It's because details matter.
• 6:35
[SPEAKER_00]: That's why sometimes growth doesn't feel like growth.
• 6:40
[SPEAKER_00]: For many of us, because we don't, we don't take we don't take accountability and we don't take the necessary time.
• 6:49
[SPEAKER_00]: to actually take a microscope or a microscope, a magnifying glass, a fine-toothed cone, and look at the details.
• 7:02
[SPEAKER_00]: there might be stunting my growth.
• 7:04
[SPEAKER_00]: So yes, several things happen, right?
• 7:07
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes growth doesn't feel like growth because you're developing muscle.
• 7:11
  [SPEAKER_00]: And I get it.
• 7:11
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes growth doesn't feel like growth because you're still learning.
• 7:14
[SPEAKER_00]: You're spending all your time just just training, trying to get knowledge.
• 7:19
[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, I heard I had to put this way.
• 7:21
[SPEAKER_00]: Oftentimes in the growth process, you're just simply building capacity for the growth that's going to happen.
• 7:28
  [SPEAKER_00]: So sometimes the
• 7:32
  [SPEAKER_00]: you're just building skills.
• 7:34
  [SPEAKER_00]: You're just developing habits.
• 7:36
[SPEAKER_00]: You're just getting yourself in position so that when that growth and those habit stacking abilities begin to pay off, you'll have capacity to receive them.
• 7:47
  [SPEAKER_00]: That's the case.
• 7:48
[SPEAKER_00]: But then number two, sometimes we don't grow.
• 7:54
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes when we reach our goal, yes.
• 7:59
[SPEAKER_00]: Grove sometimes does it feel like growth because you're just trying to learn how to be consistent.
• 8:03
  [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes it's a cycle that's how it goes.
• 8:07
[SPEAKER_00]: But then sometimes you don't find yourself growing properly or growing in the right direction or growing the right way or at the right pace.
• 8:17
[SPEAKER_00]: Because you simply won't pay attention to the details.
• 8:26
  [SPEAKER_00]: Now,
• 8:28
[SPEAKER_00]: There's other things you can do if that's your challenge.
• 8:31
[SPEAKER_00]: Have you ever heard of somebody or you ever heard of the terminology or the phrase somebody's talk about in a accountability partner?
• 8:41
[SPEAKER_00]: Some of you right now, you need what is called an accountability partner.
• 8:48
[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody that will check you, somebody that will correct you, somebody that will check in and say, you know what?
• 8:54
  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I haven't seen you do X, Y, and Z in a couple of days.
• 8:58
  [SPEAKER_00]: What's been going on?
• 9:00
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, sometimes you need somebody to check it out.
• 9:02
[SPEAKER_00]: You better listen, you said you're going to do X, Y, and Z.
• 9:05
[SPEAKER_00]: All I'm doing is calling you out right now.
• 9:07
[SPEAKER_00]: Show me some evidence that you've been doing it.
• 9:10
[SPEAKER_00]: Show me some evidence that you've been working toward it.
• 9:12
[SPEAKER_00]: Show me some evidence that you've been building capacity.
• 9:16
[SPEAKER_00]: You see, sometimes we find ourselves in position or out of position because we don't have somebody holding us accountable.
• 9:25
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, if you're the kind of person,
• 9:29
[SPEAKER_00]: that can't hold yourself accountable.
• 9:32
[SPEAKER_00]: I strongly suggest that you find somebody that will hold you accountable, whether it be, let me say this way.
• 9:43
[SPEAKER_00]: Typically, what works best is if you give that task to somebody that is not your yes man or woman.
• 9:55
[SPEAKER_00]: the person that's not always, oh, everything you do is test, everything you test turns and go, oh, they just say they clap up for every little thing you do and it can be trash and you know it's trash.
• 10:05
[SPEAKER_00]: But they say, oh, good job, you're like, I know it's not a good job, that's not the person that you need to call you out and to be accountable to.
• 10:13
[SPEAKER_00]: You need somebody that's not afraid of you.
• 10:16
[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody that respects you and somebody that ultimately wants the best for you.
• 10:25
  [SPEAKER_00]: do yourself a solid.
• 10:28
  [SPEAKER_00]: This week.
• 10:29
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, don't wait to next week.
• 10:31
  [SPEAKER_00]: Don't wait to Monday.
• 10:33
[SPEAKER_00]: No, listen, the, the, the, the, the, the sure way to not get this done is to put it off the tomorrow.
• 10:41
[SPEAKER_00]: You can almost guarantee that you will not get this done in other parts of other things, but right in this moment, you can, you can almost assure yourself that you will not get this done if you send me to it tomorrow.
• 10:50
  [SPEAKER_00]: Do it
• 10:52
  [SPEAKER_00]: do it right now.
• 10:54
  [SPEAKER_00]: There's no better time.
• 10:55
[SPEAKER_00]: Listen, oftentimes we'll go to a specific grocery store and I build up points and sometimes those points in rewards end up being dollars and they'll ask me if there's a checkout line.
• 11:06
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, do you want to use these points or these dollars?
• 11:08
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, absolutely, there's no better time than right now.
• 11:11
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I even be back tomorrow.
• 11:13
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I'd be alive, God forbid tomorrow.
• 11:15
  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow.
• 11:16
  [SPEAKER_00]: What I do
• 11:19
  [SPEAKER_00]: right?
• 11:20
[SPEAKER_00]: And I would love to receive that discount or whatever that was dollars to award my my total of the day.
• 11:27
[SPEAKER_00]: I want that right now.
• 11:29
[SPEAKER_00]: You should want to begin to move down the path of accountability right now.
• 11:35
[SPEAKER_00]: So they may invite you.
• 11:37
[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, go ahead and I know you know somebody right now that you need to send this episode out to I know you know somebody right now can be your son, can be your daughter, can be your spouse, your nephew now, or it could be you.
• 11:51
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you need something you right now, this thing has hit your heart and hit your soul, you need to let this thing again because there's nothing worse than wasting your potential.
• 12:04
[SPEAKER_00]: I used to always see people say, the graveyard is, I'm not saying it quite verbatim, but the graveyard a lot of hopes and dreams and the graveyard because people died with all these possibilities, but they were undisciplined, didn't hold themselves accountable, and they went to the grave with potential.
• 12:26
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to be that person.
• 12:27
[SPEAKER_00]: I want to squeeze out every ounce,
• 12:30
  [SPEAKER_00]: of potential I have.
• 12:31
[SPEAKER_00]: And if that means, I need to have somebody to hold me accountable by all means.
• 12:35
  [SPEAKER_00]: That's that's rock.
• 12:36
  [SPEAKER_00]: Let's roll.
• 12:36
  [SPEAKER_00]: Let's do it.
• 12:38
[SPEAKER_00]: There's too much inside of you to go to waste.
• 12:42
[SPEAKER_00]: So let me remind you as we come to a close on today's episode.
• 12:48
[SPEAKER_00]: There's no better time there right now.
• 12:51
[SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes your growth being stunted is not their fault.
• 12:56
  [SPEAKER_00]: It ain't nobody else's fault.
• 12:58
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes oftentimes it's your fault.
• 13:03
[SPEAKER_00]: So look in the mirror, I'm rooting for you.
• 13:06
[SPEAKER_00]: Check yourself, I'm rooting for you.
• 13:08
  [SPEAKER_00]: Do an internal inventory.
• 13:11
  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm rooting for you.
• 13:12
[SPEAKER_00]: You can turn this thing around right now, which you got to decide, all right?
• 13:17
[SPEAKER_00]: You got to decide that you wanna go, that you wanna grow, and that you wanna grow, it's not any of anybody else, but you.
• 13:25
[SPEAKER_00]: So would you make the decision today?
• 13:27
  [SPEAKER_00]: I dare you.
• 13:28
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you so much for tuning in today.
• 13:29
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you so much for your attention.
• 13:32
[SPEAKER_00]: Again, audio or video wherever you are.
• 13:35
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm so grateful that you spent these few moments with me today.
• 13:38
[SPEAKER_00]: Don't forget to share this out.
• 13:40
[SPEAKER_00]: Don't forget to like, don't forget to subscribe, and I'll see you back next week for another episode.
• 13:45
  [SPEAKER_00]: Take care.
• 13:46
  [SPEAKER_00]: Peace.
