- 0:11Speaker 1: Jesus the bold reform it.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Tonight a split grows between the Prime Minister and his
- 0:18Speaker 2: treasurer as they tried to boast about their surplus. But
- 0:21Speaker 2: it's actually the last they planted a liver for another decade.
- 0:25Speaker 2: They didn't tell you that, did they, And it's the
- 0:28Speaker 2: white politician's fault. Say yes campaign leaders, so they play
- 0:32Speaker 2: the race card a year after Australian said no to
- 0:36Speaker 2: their voice. Also tonight, Brendan O'Neil and his new book
- 0:39Speaker 2: on the shocking you barbarism, the vicious support in our
- 0:43Speaker 2: streets for Islamus terrorists and the vicious hatred of Israel
- 0:47Speaker 2: and Kevin Rudd or Kevin seventy four seven? Should I
- 0:51Speaker 2: say the huge travel bill is mounted? But when's he
- 0:56Speaker 2: actually going? But first the panic and the spin. Today
- 1:01Speaker 2: you're supposed to believe this labor government in Canberra is
- 1:05Speaker 2: finally going to get tough on the Isthmus radicals our
- 1:08Speaker 2: politicians have imported onto our streets. Anthony the Albinizi is
- 1:14Speaker 2: going to take action. Well, you are being a lied to.
- 1:17Speaker 2: This Prime Minister still doesn't admit to or get what's
- 1:20Speaker 2: been unleashed by our immigration policies. Our mungsticultural policies and
- 1:25Speaker 2: Labour's savage attacks on Israel. Now i'll show you some
- 1:29Speaker 2: deeply disturbing scenes that night, including ones you've not yet seen.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Albanizi today was coming to be shocked by anti Israel
- 1:38Speaker 2: protesters in Sydney and Melbourne yesterday, some flying the yellow
- 1:43Speaker 2: flag of Hesbola listened here as a terrorist group, and
- 1:47Speaker 2: they were holding pictures of Hassanzrala. There's bel a leader
- 1:51Speaker 2: killed by Israel in Lebanon last Friday. Now in Sydney,
- 1:54Speaker 2: Green's Deputy leader Mary in Feruki, she addressed the mob
- 1:58Speaker 2: and protesses there the praise of Nazarella. In fact, some
- 2:11Speaker 2: of the protesters in the Melbourne rally reportedly called for
- 2:14Speaker 2: Jews to be killed. Certainly, some chanted a war cry
- 2:17Speaker 2: in Arabic first made popular by another Islamist terrorist group,
- 2:22Speaker 2: Hamas Kaiba Kaiber yah Yahood is actually a warning to
- 2:37Speaker 2: every Jew or Yahood that the armies of Muhammad are
- 2:41Speaker 2: coming for them.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Tiger is where an.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Islamic army slaughtered Jews. But to all this, the Prime
- 2:48Speaker 2: Minister today just tuttuttered the protesters should just mind their manners.
- 2:55Speaker 4: We do not want people to bring radical ideologies and
- 2:58Speaker 4: conflict here.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Can you believe this guy?
- 3:03Speaker 2: Don't bring your old hates here, says this prime minister,
- 3:07Speaker 2: whose government just issued three thousand tourism visas to Palestinians
- 3:12Speaker 2: from terrorists run Gaza without even an interview. Some of
- 3:16Speaker 2: the protests yesterday, many chanting in Arabic, They were likely
- 3:19Speaker 2: brought into or their families were brought here by politicians
- 3:23Speaker 2: who didn't care either how that might change our culture.
- 3:26Speaker 2: And now the results you see them people openly supporting
- 3:29Speaker 2: a terrorist group in front of police yesterday who didn't
- 3:33Speaker 2: arrest a single one. Police in Sydney actually gave the
- 3:37Speaker 2: protests a permit to protest, shutting down the light rail
- 3:40Speaker 2: to make way for them. But as I said today,
- 3:45Speaker 2: the government, no, we're going to get tough. The federal
- 3:47Speaker 2: police might even charge people immigration. Mister Tony Burke, though
- 3:51Speaker 2: didn't even call the press conference denouncing these protests, didn't
- 3:55Speaker 2: dare you see thirty percent of people in his electorate
- 3:59Speaker 2: and the elections just they're Muslim too.
- 4:02Speaker 3: So the most Burke did dare do was issue.
- 4:05Speaker 2: This week warning I will consider refusing and canceling visas
- 4:09Speaker 2: for anyone who seeks to discord in Australia, he would
- 4:12Speaker 2: just consider canceling visas well. The opposition leader today winning
- 4:18Speaker 2: a lot harder.
- 4:20Speaker 5: I find it completely unacceptable that the government wouldn't be
- 4:23Speaker 5: arresting people already or canceling visas of people who are
- 4:27Speaker 5: glorifying Hesbalah and Hamas and others. They have no place
- 4:31Speaker 5: in our country. We're the greatest country in the world
- 4:34Speaker 5: and we shouldn't be afraid to defend and protect it.
- 4:37Speaker 5: And if Tony Burke continues to talk about game, that's
- 4:40Speaker 5: one thing, but he needs to follow through with it now.
- 4:43Speaker 2: I believe Tony Burke will cancel visas when I see it,
- 4:46Speaker 2: But even if he does throw out one or two scapegoats,
- 4:50Speaker 2: don't be fooled. What about all the many Hesbela supporters
- 4:55Speaker 2: if for any claim citizenship and cannot be deported. What
- 4:59Speaker 2: about people at Sydney's Musjid arahmen A Mosque in Kingsgrove
- 5:04Speaker 2: who have been mourning the deaths of Hesbela fighters like
- 5:07Speaker 2: these for many months already without any protests from this government,
- 5:12Speaker 2: and yesterday held a packed service for the Hesbela leader himself,
- 5:16Speaker 2: whose terrorists have killed Americans, Jews, Christians, a terrorist boss
- 5:21Speaker 2: that mosque officials actually praised as a righteous martyr, a
- 5:25Speaker 2: master of the resistance, praying yesterday at his death. In fact,
- 5:44Speaker 2: that these three Sydney mosques are holding vigils to mourn
- 5:47Speaker 2: the Hebela leader. Three Stony Burke going to throw some
- 5:52Speaker 2: of those guys out of the country as well? Is
- 5:54Speaker 2: he going to slam the door on immigration from the
- 5:57Speaker 2: Middle East until we assimilate better the people already here?
- 6:02Speaker 2: Or will labor keep pandering to the Muslim vote. You
- 6:07Speaker 2: know you can bank on labor doing next to absolutely
- 6:11Speaker 2: nothing like they have for forty years now. The liberals
- 6:15Speaker 2: haven't been that much better, but labor from for forty
- 6:18Speaker 2: years from the time that the Hawk labor government refused
- 6:22Speaker 2: to throw out Shake taj Aldin al Hilali, the Egyptian
- 6:26Speaker 2: radical who became Australia's Mufti who also backed Hasbela.
- 6:30Speaker 3: He did, and he.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Backed and Nazarella the Amas, the has Bala leader backed
- 6:36Speaker 2: jihad and call the September eleven alk you to attacks
- 6:39Speaker 2: on the US God's work against oppressors. The SBS sense
- 6:45Speaker 2: of that video. I got that story out. The Hawk
- 6:48Speaker 2: government let that man stay in Australia to win over
- 6:52Speaker 2: Muslim votes. Paul Kidding was part of that which let
- 6:56Speaker 2: this guy preach his crazy contempt for this country for decades.
- 7:03Speaker 6: While Australia is no longer Anglo Saxon, we mean in
- 7:07Speaker 6: Australia longer than them. Islam is deep rooted in the
- 7:10Speaker 6: Australian soil that Islam was here before the English fleet.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Labour can't now pretend to be shocked shocked to see
- 7:19Speaker 2: what decades of this kind of immigration, this kind of
- 7:22Speaker 2: multiculturalist pandering has now brought us, Especially not when Labor
- 7:27Speaker 2: is now busily demonizing Israel to win over Muslim and
- 7:32Speaker 2: Green voters, feeding the fury that we saw yesterday. So
- 7:38Speaker 2: Labor under Anthony ALBANEZIIYETIP will be big talk, little action,
- 7:44Speaker 2: because Muslim radicals here have gone from being too few
- 7:47Speaker 2: to worry about to too many for politicians of the
- 7:50Speaker 2: left to confront. In fact, the radicals now have media
- 7:54Speaker 2: cover as well, politicians in our federal Parliament giving political
- 7:58Speaker 2: cover the Greens and Senator Fatima Payman. And there's the
- 8:03Speaker 2: ABC as well. And let me finish with the ABC,
- 8:07Speaker 2: because this is a sign of the culture that we're
- 8:10Speaker 2: now up against the ABC advertises diversity in the modern
- 8:16Speaker 2: way by hiring a journalist from an Egyptian family from Qatar,
- 8:21Speaker 2: who yesterday produced a report nearly two minutes long on
- 8:24Speaker 2: the protests without once mentioning the Hesbula flags, without once
- 8:29Speaker 2: mentioning Hesbela was in fact a terrorist group, without once
- 8:34Speaker 2: explaining hes Blood fired more than eight thousand missiles of
- 8:37Speaker 2: rockets into Israel in the past year, which might explain
- 8:41Speaker 2: why Israel's now fighting back mention none of that. Instead,
- 8:46Speaker 2: let people at that protest yesterday pay tribute to the
- 8:50Speaker 2: terrorist leader after nearly a year of.
- 8:54Speaker 7: Rally's supporting Gaza and now Lebanon. Many of these protesters
- 8:58Speaker 7: say they are sick and tired of Israel's attacks on
- 9:01Speaker 7: Arab lands and there are again calling on the Australian
- 9:05Speaker 7: government to apply more diplomatic pressure and sanction Israel.
- 9:11Speaker 2: That is an ABC report, the reporter suggesting Israel is
- 9:16Speaker 2: just willingly attacking Arab lands without once mentioning it's in
- 9:21Speaker 2: fact attacking the terrorists who've been attacking it. So will
- 9:26Speaker 2: The Avenueza government also cracked on the ABC for any
- 9:28Speaker 2: what seems to me stuff, ignoring Hesbeala being a terrorist organization,
- 9:36Speaker 2: as if there is something desperately sick about this government
- 9:41Speaker 2: and no jew now is safe here. I'm not so
- 9:45Speaker 2: sure about the rest of us either, joining me is
- 9:52Speaker 2: the country's top foreign affairs right to Greg Sheridan of
- 9:54Speaker 2: the Australian, Greg, great to see you. Who is this
- 9:58Speaker 2: Hassan Nasherala that these protesters and mourners in Australia supporting,
- 10:04Speaker 2: And why did israelph only kill him?
- 10:09Speaker 3: Well?
- 10:09Speaker 8: Nasrauela was the leader of Hezbollah for the last thirty
- 10:14Speaker 8: odd years. He was a protege of the Iranian government.
- 10:19Speaker 8: He was partly educated in Iran, he was trained for them,
- 10:22Speaker 8: and he was picked by the Iranian leadership to head Hasbala.
- 10:27Speaker 8: Now Hasbolar is one of the most murderous and savage
- 10:31Speaker 8: terrorist groups in the world, certainly one of the best funded.
- 10:33Speaker 8: It's been funded to many hundreds of millions of dollars
- 10:36Speaker 8: by Iran. It's one of the most heavily armed non
- 10:40Speaker 8: state actors in the world. It dominates southern Lebanon. It
- 10:45Speaker 8: takes no notice of the Lebanese government. It's utterly undemocratic.
- 10:48Speaker 8: It's killed hundreds of Americans and Israelis and French and
- 10:54Speaker 8: other people, Argentinians. It's conducted terrorism around the world. It
- 10:59Speaker 8: is pro scribe lived under Australian law and under American
- 11:02Speaker 8: law as an illegal terrorist organization. And Nosrala was an
- 11:08Speaker 8: embodiment of all the Islamist extremism at the head of that.
- 11:13Speaker 8: And he was also the perfect servant of Iran, and
- 11:18Speaker 8: his use to Iran was that he did whatever they
- 11:21Speaker 8: told them, whenever he told whenever they told him to
- 11:24Speaker 8: do it.
- 11:26Speaker 2: But now we have imported over the years a very
- 11:30Speaker 2: vocal minority that's going to back that is backing you
- 11:34Speaker 2: see it, even elicit terrorist group has Bulah. We've had
- 11:39Speaker 2: a couple of muftis that I know of backing Hezbullah.
- 11:43Speaker 2: How does this now get resolved?
- 11:47Speaker 8: Well, Andrew, I think this is a very serious situation,
- 11:51Speaker 8: a grave situation, So.
- 11:54Speaker 9: A couple of caveats.
- 11:55Speaker 8: What's happening in Lebanon is a tragedy and a lot
- 11:58Speaker 8: of innocent people will be harmed. It's entirely the moral
- 12:01Speaker 8: responsibility of Hezbollah. What nation in the world could you
- 12:05Speaker 8: fire nine thousand rockets at and not expect that ultimately
- 12:10Speaker 8: there would be a response. I think the Albanesi government
- 12:14Speaker 8: has given no moral or political leadership on this situation.
- 12:18Speaker 3: At any point.
- 12:19Speaker 8: They've been completely out of their depth in this. No
- 12:22Speaker 8: Albanesi cabinet minister has visited the sites of the Hamas
- 12:26Speaker 8: atrocities in Israel, as though they'd be embarrassed to express
- 12:31Speaker 8: that amount of solidarity with Israeli victims of Islamist terror.
- 12:36Speaker 8: And one of the reasons the situation on the streets
- 12:40Speaker 8: is very ugly is, in my view, although you can't
- 12:44Speaker 8: prove this, an absolute lack of moral leadership from Australian institutions,
- 12:50Speaker 8: first of all the government, but also our education system
- 12:53Speaker 8: which inculcates this kind of hatred of the West and
- 12:55Speaker 8: hatred of Israel as part of the West. And then
- 12:58Speaker 8: thirdly the ABC which has a great big anti Israel
- 13:01Speaker 8: ship on its shoulder, and the failure to give any
- 13:06Speaker 8: leadership at all on this from the Albanesi government. It's
- 13:11Speaker 8: shameful for Australia. Australia's position on this, which is much
- 13:14Speaker 8: more cowardly than that of our friendly governments the US,
- 13:19Speaker 8: Britain or even politically correct Canada, is a shameful thing
- 13:23Speaker 8: and it won't have any effect on the Middle East,
- 13:26Speaker 8: but it does have an effect on the Australian population.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Greg, I'm going to challenge you a bit here. It
- 13:33Speaker 2: has offered leadership. Unfortunately, is the leadership in the wrong direction,
- 13:36Speaker 2: because you've got Foreign Minister Penny Wong. She's been encouraging
- 13:40Speaker 2: the anti Israel haters, whether by design or accident, by
- 13:45Speaker 2: piling on to Israel herself. I mean, she failed to
- 13:49Speaker 2: support Israel killing Hispeloteria's with booby trapped pages, even though
- 13:54Speaker 2: it was a perfectly targeted operation. She seemed all distraughted
- 13:58Speaker 2: the killing of Nazareela certainly didn't support it, not publicly,
- 14:03Speaker 2: and she last week demanded Palestinian state be created right now,
- 14:08Speaker 2: even though Israel rightly believes it will almost certainly be led
- 14:12Speaker 2: by terrorists issues.
- 14:14Speaker 10: The world cannot wait. We cannot allow any party to
- 14:18Speaker 10: obstruct the prospect of peace. As I've said for many months,
- 14:22Speaker 10: Australia no longer seas Palestinian recognition as the destination of
- 14:26Speaker 10: a peace process, but a contribution towards momentum, momentum towards peace.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Greg.
- 14:34Speaker 2: It's true that Wang today condemned the Hesbe pro Hesbela
- 14:37Speaker 2: protests yesterday, but really she's been stoking the fire.
- 14:41Speaker 3: What is her game?
- 14:45Speaker 8: Well, Andrew, I want to be fair to Penny Wong.
- 14:50Speaker 8: I think that speech the un was the worst speech
- 14:53Speaker 8: of her life. It was a shameful speech. It was
- 14:56Speaker 8: unworthy of her and unworthy of Australia. But let me
- 15:00Speaker 8: add the caveats. She did denounce Hezbollah and Hummas as
- 15:05Speaker 8: terrorist organizations, and she did sort of say that her
- 15:09Speaker 8: objective was for Israelis and Palestinians to live in peace
- 15:12Speaker 8: and security, and she wanted Israel to live in peace
- 15:15Speaker 8: and security as well. However, in calling for a Palestinian
- 15:20Speaker 8: state immediately, she's just engaging in meaningless performative rhetoric. The
- 15:27Speaker 8: Palestinians have a whole series of positions such as the
- 15:29Speaker 8: right of return of millions and millions of Palestinian relatives
- 15:33Speaker 8: and descendants of anyone who ever lived in Israel to
- 15:36Speaker 8: go and live back in Israel, not in the new
- 15:38Speaker 8: Palestinian state. Well, obviously that means no Palestinian state can
- 15:42Speaker 8: come into existence right now, And they have a thousand
- 15:45Speaker 8: other positions which mean no Palestinian state can come into
- 15:48Speaker 8: existence right now, and dealing.
- 15:50Speaker 9: With all of that is hard work.
- 15:52Speaker 8: So if she is all of a sudden, you know,
- 15:54Speaker 8: the great champion of peace in the Middle East. I
- 15:58Speaker 8: have a series of questions for her.
- 16:00Speaker 3: Where have been her.
- 16:01Speaker 8: Speeches denouncing Iran for its sponsorship of murderous terrorism and
- 16:07Speaker 8: he Semitic terrorism in Hamas and hez Balah and the hooties.
- 16:11Speaker 8: You know, the hooties have a slogan, God is Great,
- 16:15Speaker 8: death to the United States, death to Israel, and a
- 16:18Speaker 8: curse upon the Jews, victory to Islam. Well as Petty
- 16:22Speaker 8: Wong had anything to say about that, And all of
- 16:24Speaker 8: a sudden she's concerned about the Middle East. What a coincidence,
- 16:28Speaker 8: just at a time when Labor is in danger of
- 16:30Speaker 8: losing a number of inner city seats to the Greens,
- 16:33Speaker 8: whose hostility to Israel is so exaggerated. Where is her
- 16:39Speaker 8: effort to put pressure on has Balah over the last
- 16:42Speaker 8: twelve months to stop firing.
- 16:44Speaker 3: All these rockets.
- 16:46Speaker 8: It's as if the only thing we can do, criticizes.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Your first question is the one Iran could bring peace
- 16:54Speaker 2: to the Middle East instantly but turning off the tap
- 16:57Speaker 2: to its surrogate terrorist groups an Iraq in Lebanon, in Gaza,
- 17:01Speaker 2: in the West Bank, in Yemen. Just say stop firing.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Peace in the Middle East, ISRAELID stop fighting. Bang, there
- 17:08Speaker 2: you have it, and she as you say what she said,
- 17:12Speaker 2: I can't hear it. Greg Sheridan, thank you so much,
- 17:14Speaker 2: indeed for your time. It seems a split is grown
- 17:19Speaker 2: between Anthony Albanezi and its Treasurer Jim Chalmers. Now the
- 17:22Speaker 2: premise today did of good news. The government's going to
- 17:24Speaker 2: post a better surplus than expected nearly sixteen billion dollars,
- 17:28Speaker 2: and that makes two surpluses in a.
- 17:30Speaker 4: Row, the largest back to back surpluses on record. So
- 17:36Speaker 4: I've managed to turn liberal deficits into labor surpluses and
- 17:41Speaker 4: that has assisted in putting that downward pressure on inflation.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Except if surpluses are so great, and they're pretty good,
- 17:50Speaker 2: why is this one going to be followed by ten
- 17:52Speaker 2: years of labor deficits? According to the labor the government's
- 17:56Speaker 2: own budget papers, And that's because in part the price
- 17:59Speaker 2: for io or has now dropped. The government actually got
- 18:03Speaker 2: lucky for a while, super high prices. Now the luck's
- 18:06Speaker 2: running out, and that may be why a treasure of
- 18:09Speaker 2: charmers us as Treasury Department to work out the costings.
- 18:12Speaker 2: If he now cappt negative gearing on rental homes, although
- 18:17Speaker 2: Charmers still refuses to exactly admit that is indeed what
- 18:20Speaker 2: he did.
- 18:22Speaker 11: Sometimes the advice comes unprompted. Sometimes it's sought by me
- 18:26Speaker 11: on this occasion, you know, when there's a contentious issue
- 18:30Speaker 11: in the public domain and then we've got a severe
- 18:33Speaker 11: shortage of housing. Of course, treasurers get advice from their
- 18:38Speaker 11: department on these sorts of issues.
- 18:41Speaker 1: And that's what's happened here five.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Times who refused to give a straight answer. But as
- 18:45Speaker 2: I said last week, it seems Albanis it was blindsided
- 18:47Speaker 2: when the news was seleak. The Charmers was indeed looking
- 18:50Speaker 2: to cap negative gearing, and albanies you try to rubbish
- 18:54Speaker 2: the idea Charmers that I even hinted that the work
- 18:56Speaker 2: on costly mischange had now been scrapped.
- 19:00Speaker 11: You're assuming that there's a piece of work that's been finished.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Joining mister Panel, Michael Kroeger, former Victorian Liberal President Michael Danby,
- 19:07Speaker 2: former Federal.
- 19:08Speaker 3: Labor MP Michael Danby, Cameron Milner.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Bill Shortan's former chief of staff, a Charmer supporter, a
- 19:15Speaker 2: regular commentator on the show, claims in his latest column
- 19:19Speaker 2: that all this leaking of the negative gearing being costed
- 19:24Speaker 2: and all that coming ahead of cha Charmer's trip to
- 19:28Speaker 2: China last week made Chalmers look like a leader on
- 19:31Speaker 2: the world stage, while back in Australia Alvinzy just looked
- 19:34Speaker 2: like a liar who didn't know what was going on.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Is Chalmers really trying to undermine alban Easy?
- 19:40Speaker 12: Well, they both have a corporate interest in not supporting
- 19:45Speaker 12: a crazy tax like this. That similar kind of thing
- 19:49Speaker 12: lost bill shortened the unlosable election. He's not called keating
- 19:53Speaker 12: when he went over to China. I could have told
- 19:55Speaker 12: him what he would discover in China. Hu Jinping is
- 19:58Speaker 12: a communist and that's the problem with the building industry
- 20:02Speaker 12: and with business in China. The communists have killed natural
- 20:07Speaker 12: Chinese entrepreneurship. So Jim's got big problems. I don't think
- 20:14Speaker 12: he's distinguished himself as a point of difference to the
- 20:18Speaker 12: Australian public from elbow, So I don't know how his
- 20:23Speaker 12: chances are after the next election, which, if you follow
- 20:26Speaker 12: the opinion poll, seems to be that Labor is in
- 20:29Speaker 12: a desperate position that it might have to go into
- 20:31Speaker 12: an alliance with the Teals.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Michael Craiger what is going on between those two guys.
- 20:41Speaker 13: Well, to be honest that I know, I'd like to
- 20:43Speaker 13: believe Capen and Milner because that would bring about a
- 20:44Speaker 13: lot of political instability at the head of the government.
- 20:47Speaker 13: But I think it's more of a stuff up than
- 20:52Speaker 13: a conspiracy.
- 20:54Speaker 3: But look, you've got charmers.
- 20:56Speaker 13: They're waffling on elbow, waffling on about whether this work
- 20:59Speaker 13: was commissioned or not. I mean, why is this such
- 21:01Speaker 13: a secret. And to hear that these treasure officials just
- 21:03Speaker 13: when they've got nothing to do, decide to go and
- 21:06Speaker 13: do all this modeling on their own, of their own volition.
- 21:08Speaker 13: And is anyone running the treasury or do these guys
- 21:10Speaker 13: just sit around Philly in the day with fantasies like this.
- 21:14Speaker 13: I think the problem is this, there's thirty four billion
- 21:16Speaker 13: dollars of servilces, which is great over the last two
- 21:20Speaker 13: years sixteen and eighteen, But the next four years Andrew
- 21:23Speaker 13: there are budget deficits of a hunt cumulative of one
- 21:25Speaker 13: hundred and twenty one billion. So he's got to call
- 21:28Speaker 13: an election before the next budget because they're trying to
- 21:30Speaker 13: give the impression that they know what they're doing about
- 21:32Speaker 13: this great economic management no, we've had two sevilances. But
- 21:35Speaker 13: if he has to deliver a budget deficit next year
- 21:37Speaker 13: of twenty eight billion, announce it before the election, and
- 21:41Speaker 13: then people focus in fact that that's twenty eight of
- 21:43Speaker 13: one hundred and twenty one people, I think maybe this
- 21:46Speaker 13: Charmers did get hit in the backside by a rainbow,
- 21:48Speaker 13: and that he's not very.
- 21:49Speaker 9: Good after all.
- 21:50Speaker 13: So I think they've got to call the election before
- 21:52Speaker 13: before there's a budget, preferably after an interstraight cut. But
- 21:57Speaker 13: you know, the short answer to your question is who
- 21:59Speaker 13: would know. I don't think they even know.
- 22:02Speaker 2: I suspect you are absolutely correct that they need the
- 22:05Speaker 2: election call before the budget where they have to admit
- 22:09Speaker 2: and that's cumulative deficits of one hundred and twenty four billion,
- 22:12Speaker 2: that's only over four years. Their budget paper says there
- 22:15Speaker 2: will be no surplus again for ten years.
- 22:18Speaker 3: The Dating Telegraph Michael.
- 22:23Speaker 2: At the moment as reporting that former Labor leader Kevin Rudd,
- 22:28Speaker 2: who's now our ambassador at Washington, has spent one hundred
- 22:32Speaker 2: and fifty thousand dollars flying to other countries. There's a
- 22:35Speaker 2: kind of ambassador to the world, Michael Danby traveling to,
- 22:40Speaker 2: among other places, the Economic World Economic Forum in Switzerland,
- 22:43Speaker 2: a defense conference in London, flying with Wiki Leak's founder
- 22:47Speaker 2: Julia Sange as he was free from British jail to
- 22:50Speaker 2: Singapore to.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Mark the birth one hundred years ago.
- 22:52Speaker 2: A former premise, Lee kwon Yem. Is he just doing
- 22:57Speaker 2: his job, Kevin Rudd or doing the Scott Morrison's a
- 23:00Speaker 2: whole lot of other jobs.
- 23:02Speaker 12: I think they're paying the price of keeping him him
- 23:05Speaker 12: quiet in Washington and not speaking on issues that would
- 23:09Speaker 12: undermine the Foreign minister. Further, I thought the trip from
- 23:13Speaker 12: Washington escorting a sounge was completely unnecessary from London, what
- 23:19Speaker 12: a complete waste of time. Maybe he was finding out
- 23:24Speaker 12: from mister Osunge about the first interview that Julian Osunge
- 23:28Speaker 12: did when he was hosting Russia Today program, which was
- 23:32Speaker 12: with Andrew Sheik Hassan Nostrala.
- 23:36Speaker 3: Sorry to have but Kevin, did you ask him about
- 23:40Speaker 3: shik Hassan?
- 23:44Speaker 2: Well, well, well, well look I thought there was ridiculous indulgence.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Makes the money ambassador to London. In fact, they're called
- 23:51Speaker 2: the High Commission, the Highmmission in London. Stephen Smith was
- 23:54Speaker 2: on that flood already. Way they needed Kevin run as well.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Heaven knows, what do you make of this? Look, I
- 24:00Speaker 2: guess Michael Kroger that you know, Kevin Rudd is an asset,
- 24:06Speaker 2: but gee, there must be short of assets that have
- 24:09Speaker 2: him do all these other work on top of his
- 24:12Speaker 2: being the ambassador to Washington.
- 24:15Speaker 13: Look, there were a lot better people to take on
- 24:17Speaker 13: that position than him. He was a friend of Albanezy's.
- 24:22Speaker 13: This was a captain's call because they were mates. He
- 24:24Speaker 13: was deputy to.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Rudd.
- 24:28Speaker 13: This was, you know, a favor he did to him.
- 24:30Speaker 13: Rudd is completely unsuited to this job. The only thing
- 24:34Speaker 13: is it's lucky he hasn't blown up completely whilst his ambassador.
- 24:38Speaker 13: But of course there's no reason he has to go
- 24:39Speaker 13: to these other countries none whatsoever.
- 24:42Speaker 9: That's not his job.
- 24:43Speaker 13: He is, as you say, not a world you know,
- 24:45Speaker 13: he's not the world statesman, you know, you know, traveling
- 24:50Speaker 13: the world at our expense. I agree with Michael Julianus Sarne,
- 24:53Speaker 13: what was that all about? But look, as you know,
- 24:55Speaker 13: in re my view about Kevin Rudd is the less
- 24:57Speaker 13: time on this network we spent talking about him.
- 25:00Speaker 9: The better will all be.
- 25:01Speaker 13: But I think I think he needs to I think
- 25:03Speaker 13: he needs to come home and work on that Murdock
- 25:05Speaker 13: World Commission that's gone south since since he since he left,
- 25:08Speaker 13: it's all collapse, all collapsed.
- 25:11Speaker 9: There's no one left.
- 25:13Speaker 2: There than you give him my ideas. We've got some
- 25:18Speaker 2: peace to don't give him ideas. Michael Craig and Michaeldrey,
- 25:21Speaker 2: thank you so much for you both. After the break,
- 25:25Speaker 2: two Aboriginal leaders of the campaign for the Voice now
- 25:28Speaker 2: blame white politicians, claim they these white politicians sideline black
- 25:34Speaker 2: voices like them and that's racist.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Well calling them out is Warren Mundine after this.
- 25:45Speaker 2: In two weeks, it's going to be exactly a year
- 25:47Speaker 2: since Australian said no to the Voice, No to the
- 25:50Speaker 2: Albanezi government's plan to divide us by race in the
- 25:52Speaker 2: constitution by creating a kind of advisory parliament just for Aborigines. Now,
- 25:57Speaker 2: I think it's actually critical to learn the real lessons
- 25:59Speaker 2: from that expensive face that divided the country and costs
- 26:03Speaker 2: US about four hundred and fifty.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Million dollars your money. But here we go again.
- 26:10Speaker 2: Some of the average leaders of that disastrous campaign are
- 26:13Speaker 2: now placing the blame on white politicians, specifically Anthony Albani
- 26:19Speaker 2: is Impeter Dutton for somehow freezing them out and therefore
- 26:23Speaker 2: losing them.
- 26:24Speaker 3: This Voice Yes twenty three.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Campaign director Dean Parkin and Uhuru dialogue Cokevena Meghan Davis,
- 26:31Speaker 2: who had so much to do with writing the whole
- 26:33Speaker 2: proposal the Voice legislation, now blame the politicians for making
- 26:39Speaker 2: them somehow invisible in the debate, with Parkin playing the
- 26:43Speaker 2: race card writing it became the opposition's arguably with the
- 26:45Speaker 2: Prime Minister, we meaning averaging leaders weren't even respected enough
- 26:50Speaker 2: as opponents to have a go at us. There is
- 26:52Speaker 2: something very telling and dispissive of Indigenous peoples.
- 26:57Speaker 3: It was very demeaning.
- 27:00Speaker 2: I find that such a cop out because I remember,
- 27:02Speaker 2: for instance, being part of a debate with Parkin and
- 27:05Speaker 2: I found he had no answers and not surprising, he
- 27:07Speaker 2: made no splash in the campaign. More importantly, the No
- 27:10Speaker 2: campaign was actually led by two people, both with Aboriginal heritage,
- 27:15Speaker 2: who more than anyone else in this country, destroyed the
- 27:20Speaker 2: S campaign. They were sentered since a Nampagma Price and
- 27:23Speaker 2: Warren Mundine, who joins me now, weren't great to see you.
- 27:27Speaker 2: So are these the Yes campaigners right that they and
- 27:31Speaker 2: other Yes campaigners such as Marshall Langton and Old Pearson,
- 27:34Speaker 2: all Aboriginal heritage were somehow rendered invisible that the white
- 27:39Speaker 2: politicians took over and all this was dismissive of Aboriginal people.
- 27:44Speaker 2: What lessons do you think we have from this?
- 27:48Speaker 14: They were as invisible as a streaker at the AFL
- 27:53Speaker 14: Grand Final. I said from the very beginning of this
- 27:59Speaker 14: campaign back in September twenty twenty two that no matter
- 28:03Speaker 14: what the result was, whether it was a yes or
- 28:06Speaker 14: whether it was a no, on the Sunday, I was
- 28:09Speaker 14: going to get out of bed and work with my
- 28:11Speaker 14: opponents and the team and my team to actually fix
- 28:16Speaker 14: things that are problems within within our community, the jobs, education,
- 28:21Speaker 14: the health services, everything, and work on that and move forward.
- 28:25Speaker 14: I think these people have got to stop.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Winging and complaining and blaming other people and actually look
- 28:32Speaker 1: in the mirror. It was their idea.
- 28:35Speaker 14: They're the ones who prosecuted their case, you know, And
- 28:40Speaker 14: they're the ones they had millions and millions.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Of dollars to spend.
- 28:44Speaker 14: They've still got millions of dollars left over from in
- 28:47Speaker 14: their budget, and they're winging and complaining and about everyone.
- 28:53Speaker 14: I just wrote a paper just in the last month
- 28:56Speaker 14: about the way forward. We have to go look at education, jobs,
- 29:00Speaker 14: the crime rates and the governance and that they get
- 29:02Speaker 14: it all fixed.
- 29:03Speaker 1: What have they done.
- 29:04Speaker 14: They've just winned and blamed everyone else for what's happening.
- 29:10Speaker 3: But this whole idea that somehow the campaign.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Was racist and dismissive, insulting by ignoring Aboriginal voices. Like
- 29:18Speaker 2: I said, I can't you know, I can't recall count
- 29:23Speaker 2: how many times that you and Justiner Pricer in the media,
- 29:27Speaker 2: how many times you were on this show, how many
- 29:29Speaker 2: times you're on so many other shows. Jacinta was everywhere.
- 29:32Speaker 2: Basically you were listened to, all right. And on the
- 29:36Speaker 2: other side of the S campaign, how many votes did
- 29:40Speaker 2: Marshall Langton costs the S campaign. I would have been
- 29:43Speaker 2: very happy for the S campaign to focus on her,
- 29:46Speaker 2: But she was a disaster.
- 29:48Speaker 14: I see it, a dreadful disaster. Look, and she wasn't
- 29:52Speaker 14: the only one. There's a whole group of that. If
- 29:55Speaker 14: they were Bernie, if they weren't out there attacking people,
- 29:59Speaker 14: abusing people, then they were attacking and abusing themselves.
- 30:03Speaker 1: You know.
- 30:04Speaker 14: Look, I just wish they'd actually, you know, grow up
- 30:09Speaker 14: a bit and start focusing on Australians. You know, it
- 30:14Speaker 14: was obviously in this campaign they didn't understand Australians. They
- 30:18Speaker 14: didn't know anything about Australians. In fact, they hardly ever
- 30:22Speaker 14: met Australians. We were out there every day doing at
- 30:25Speaker 14: least five interviews a day, two rallies a day, in
- 30:29Speaker 14: some cases two states a day, out there talking to
- 30:33Speaker 14: people on the ground because we wanted to talk to
- 30:35Speaker 14: the Australian people. Because the corporates weren't with us, the
- 30:37Speaker 14: law society wasn't with us, the Bar Association with US,
- 30:41Speaker 14: football clubs weren't with us.
- 30:43Speaker 1: You know, all the.
- 30:44Speaker 14: Rich end of town and inner city people weren't with us.
- 30:47Speaker 14: But we went out there and talked to people. In fact,
- 30:49Speaker 14: we were we were on twenty percent when we kicked
- 30:52Speaker 14: a campaign off, and they were on eighty percent. But
- 30:55Speaker 14: we went out there and spoke to the Australian people,
- 30:58Speaker 14: listened to them, saw going on, and we come up
- 31:02Speaker 14: with solutions and everything. And the first thing was people
- 31:07Speaker 14: did not want to put race in the constitution. They
- 31:11Speaker 14: wanted everyone to be treated equal, they wanted everyone.
- 31:14Speaker 1: To be peded equal.
- 31:15Speaker 14: And the other big thing, which I can't understand that
- 31:19Speaker 14: Yes campaigns are still carrying on about is all Australians,
- 31:23Speaker 14: whether they Yes voters or no voters, told us quite
- 31:26Speaker 14: clearly that way wanted things fixed and that's what they
- 31:30Speaker 14: should be doing now.
- 31:31Speaker 1: They should be working with us.
- 31:32Speaker 14: I'm happy to work with them to actually get clear outcome.
- 31:36Speaker 14: So we fix all these issues and we move forward.
- 31:39Speaker 14: You know, look, it's twelve months nearly twelve months.
- 31:42Speaker 1: Stop winging about it.
- 31:44Speaker 14: Let's start moving forward and actually fixing things.
- 31:49Speaker 2: Well and fixing it as people together instead of varting
- 31:52Speaker 2: us by race. And I'll tell you what this gues
- 31:54Speaker 2: insult the fact that the Minister for Indigenous Australians in
- 31:58Speaker 2: this debate was Linda Bernie was a self of Aboriginal
- 32:02Speaker 2: heritage and we sure listened to her, and that was
- 32:04Speaker 2: one of the problems of the S campaign. She too
- 32:07Speaker 2: had no answers. Warrmandin just quickly used to be the
- 32:10Speaker 2: national president of the Labor Party. Can you explain how
- 32:14Speaker 2: it's become so anti Israel and so weak in challenging
- 32:19Speaker 2: the due hatred we now see on our streets. We've
- 32:26Speaker 2: lost Warren. I'm sorry about that. We'll have another talk
- 32:30Speaker 2: to Warren about that later it maybe in the week
- 32:32Speaker 2: or next week after the break.
- 32:35Speaker 3: The ABC crossed.
- 32:36Speaker 2: The line yesterday and have I got some amazing footage
- 32:41Speaker 2: to show you about that, And.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Every liberal MP should watch.
- 32:46Speaker 2: And realize this bias the national broadcast that cannot stand
- 32:56Speaker 2: in Australia. We're strong enough. We won't be destroyed by
- 32:59Speaker 2: our enemy. These what we will be destroyed by our
- 33:03Speaker 2: institutions if they don't resist. That's the real weakness. Now
- 33:07Speaker 2: let me go back to that ABC report and the
- 33:10Speaker 2: disgusting pro Hesbela protests yesterday.
- 33:14Speaker 3: A terrorist group. Listen, here's a terrorist scrup It.
- 33:16Speaker 2: Was a report that didn't mention the chants for Hesbelah
- 33:20Speaker 2: were being made, the flags were being flown, didn't mention
- 33:23Speaker 2: the threats of Jews, didn't mention the Hesbelas in fact
- 33:26Speaker 2: the terrorist group. That's far more than eight thousand rockets
- 33:28Speaker 2: and missiles in Israel since October seven, which is why
- 33:31Speaker 2: his Israel has now hit.
- 33:33Speaker 3: Back and said you got this.
- 33:35Speaker 7: Many of these protesters say they are sick and tired
- 33:38Speaker 7: of Israel's attacks on Arab glands.
- 33:42Speaker 2: But if you thought that's bad, here's the ABC's Afternoon
- 33:45Speaker 2: briefing report today after this all blew up about the
- 33:48Speaker 2: Hebela flags and no and despite what you might think,
- 33:51Speaker 2: it is not a parody.
- 33:55Speaker 15: Also at home, police investigations are underway into whether criminal
- 33:59Speaker 15: laws were broken by protesters who bore Hesbella flags and
- 34:03Speaker 15: images in the big Australian cities yesterday as a listed
- 34:07Speaker 15: terrorist organization. That's not supposed to have happened, and it
- 34:11Speaker 15: might not have happened had it not been for the
- 34:14Speaker 15: latest onslaught of bombing by Israel in Lebanon as it
- 34:18Speaker 15: took out Hesbella's leadership.
- 34:20Speaker 9: We will get some analysis.
- 34:23Speaker 2: Is there nothing those wicked Israelis can't do? Now? They're
- 34:28Speaker 2: even forcing people to support terrorists in Australia. Joining me
- 34:34Speaker 2: are Damien Courry, a corporate communications consultant, hosts of his
- 34:37Speaker 2: own video podcasts. The other side, Stephen Treva, an author
- 34:40Speaker 2: and senior lecturer in history a CAMPI in college teaching
- 34:43Speaker 2: Western civilization fast disappearing before our eyes. Stephen, thank you
- 34:48Speaker 2: for drawing my attention to that later last one there.
- 34:53Speaker 3: How do reports like.
- 34:54Speaker 2: These to get onto the ABC and what should be
- 34:57Speaker 2: done about it?
- 34:59Speaker 16: Well, I mean the ABC has been going anti Israel
- 35:03Speaker 16: since the nineteen eighties, as has the BBC over in England.
- 35:08Speaker 16: And so the fact of the matter is there's just
- 35:10Speaker 16: a lot of people at the ABC who think this
- 35:12Speaker 16: is perfectly unbiased reporting, and that's how these things get on.
- 35:16Speaker 16: I mean, you would have thought that a journalist with
- 35:18Speaker 16: any sense of curiosity would have asked people in the
- 35:21Speaker 16: crowd who are eulogizing Hassan nasra La, who said that
- 35:26Speaker 16: the attack Hamas on Israel was a heroic act. You
- 35:33Speaker 16: would think a journalist would ask them about that. Do
- 35:35Speaker 16: you think that that was a right? Do you agree
- 35:36Speaker 16: with what he says? But nothing like that? What can
- 35:39Speaker 16: be done about it? A short answer is very little.
- 35:41Speaker 16: I'd like to see an independent commission looking into systemic
- 35:45Speaker 16: bias in the ABC on maybe four or five key issues,
- 35:49Speaker 16: for example, the voice, the Arab Israeli issue, climate, even
- 35:54Speaker 16: go as far back as the same sex marriage issue,
- 35:56Speaker 16: and maybe even the American election. Analyze those and look
- 36:00Speaker 16: for bias.
- 36:02Speaker 2: But Damien put you on the spot. You did work
- 36:05Speaker 2: for the ABC. I don't blame you. I forgive you're here.
- 36:09Speaker 2: I worked on the ABC as a gift, So there
- 36:11Speaker 2: you go. But I think to me, look, I'm a
- 36:15Speaker 2: bit hardcore now because I see so much of this.
- 36:17Speaker 2: I think the Liberals have got to give up in
- 36:19Speaker 2: the idea of the ABC can be reformed. It can't
- 36:21Speaker 2: be reformed. It cannot be reformed. In that case, what
- 36:24Speaker 2: are you going to do? What would you do?
- 36:28Speaker 17: I don't think we can have another inquiry. I mean,
- 36:30Speaker 17: I support what Stephen's saying, you know a lot. I
- 36:33Speaker 17: mean I think that that systemic cultural, systemic problem, it's
- 36:36Speaker 17: very deep, it's under the surface.
- 36:39Speaker 9: But I think we're way past that point.
- 36:41Speaker 17: I was really pleased to see the very strong position
- 36:44Speaker 17: that James Patterson, the Home Affairs Shadow Minister.
- 36:47Speaker 9: And the Peter Dutton took on this matter today.
- 36:50Speaker 17: There are clear laws that have been broken here and
- 36:52Speaker 17: the fact that our ABC didn't even know that and
- 36:54Speaker 17: didn't report on that is just beyond comprehension and beyond justification.
- 37:00Speaker 17: This is deliberate bias by omission. There is no question
- 37:05Speaker 17: that the ABC is a way off charter here and
- 37:07Speaker 17: way out of bounds. What we need to see from
- 37:10Speaker 17: Peter Dutton is very strong leadership on the ABC. He
- 37:14Speaker 17: needs to do what Pierre Potev, the leader of the
- 37:16Speaker 17: Conservative Party in Canada has done and come out and
- 37:19Speaker 17: say we're going to cut the ABC budget by a
- 37:22Speaker 17: billion dollars. That's what Pierre polyv said about the CBC budget.
- 37:26Speaker 17: Interesting that that fellow that was reporting on this, Soroun.
- 37:29Speaker 17: I don't know where he's from or who he's from,
- 37:30Speaker 17: but I put money on it that he's probably once
- 37:32Speaker 17: worked for the CBC and a lot you would never know,
- 37:35Speaker 17: but there you go. Yeah, okay, so Katar, But I
- 37:39Speaker 17: think Andrew, you know, we've got to get across. You know,
- 37:43Speaker 17: there's two things that the Yellen people say. The Liberal
- 37:45Speaker 17: Party will say if we if we criticize the ABC,
- 37:48Speaker 17: we'll say we're going.
- 37:48Speaker 9: To cut their budget. They'll hammer us. Well, they're hammering
- 37:50Speaker 9: you anyway.
- 37:51Speaker 3: They hammer the Liberal Party all the time.
- 37:54Speaker 17: And the political bias exists. It's never going to go away,
- 37:58Speaker 17: So take it on deal with exactly.
- 38:02Speaker 2: Understruck Stephen, the federal government has passed the law around
- 38:07Speaker 2: the country you cannot show the Nazi flag, even though
- 38:11Speaker 2: we're talking about a political party that was destroyed nearly
- 38:14Speaker 2: eighty years ago, eighty years ago in Victoria, New South Wales,
- 38:19Speaker 2: and go to jail for a year for showing the
- 38:21Speaker 2: Nazi flag here and this morning and this apparent backlip
- 38:25Speaker 2: the Federal Police this morning said well, you know we're
- 38:29Speaker 2: going to host that. They try to host down the
- 38:31Speaker 2: reports that the AFP can now charge protests are showing
- 38:33Speaker 2: the Hesbala flag, which is Sera's army right now, saying well,
- 38:37Speaker 2: the mere public display of prohibited symbol on its own
- 38:40Speaker 2: does not meet the threshold of the Commonwealth offense had
- 38:43Speaker 2: to involve things like, you know, spreading ideas of racist
- 38:45Speaker 2: superiority of threats and all that kind of stuff. This
- 38:48Speaker 2: afternoon though, after the media and the liberals got involved,
- 38:51Speaker 2: backflip it said it's going to get at least six
- 38:54Speaker 2: reports of crime referred to it, but from Victoria police
- 38:57Speaker 2: relating to these protests and even thank the Victorians.
- 39:02Speaker 3: What is going on?
- 39:03Speaker 2: How come we do not treat our police, do not
- 39:06Speaker 2: treat or our laws do not treat a terrorist flag
- 39:10Speaker 2: from eighty years ago. That's more serious than a terrorist
- 39:14Speaker 2: flag of a group operating right today.
- 39:18Speaker 16: Well, I'm afraid that a lot of police in Australia,
- 39:20Speaker 16: or the police forces in Australia are going to wind
- 39:23Speaker 16: up like police forces in Britain and England in particular
- 39:26Speaker 16: basically just afraid of, let's be frank, Islamic communities. You've
- 39:31Speaker 16: got two tier policing over in England and that's what
- 39:34Speaker 16: we don't want to have here. But it could be
- 39:36Speaker 16: emerging because of sheer fear of upsetting this community and
- 39:40Speaker 16: just not knowing how to deal with it once it
- 39:43Speaker 16: becomes out of control. It's a terrible thing to say,
- 39:46Speaker 16: but I think that's got a lot to do with it.
- 39:48Speaker 16: So we need to avoid that kind of two tier
- 39:50Speaker 16: policing here. And again this always comes back.
- 39:53Speaker 9: To an immigration issue.
- 39:54Speaker 16: What we need to avoid in Australia, and we can
- 39:57Speaker 16: actually do it. It's not too late for us avoid
- 40:00Speaker 16: building Islamic communities that are so big that they become
- 40:05Speaker 16: uncontrollable by the police in the event that events over
- 40:09Speaker 16: in the Middle East become really out of control.
- 40:12Speaker 2: Where that is indeed, that is indeed the fact that
- 40:15Speaker 2: Damien it is true.
- 40:18Speaker 3: I mean.
- 40:20Speaker 2: The Nazi Party is not a current threat to Australia.
- 40:22Speaker 2: I mean a few guys in type black shorts, you know,
- 40:25Speaker 2: fat guys maybe, but HESBLA is a current outfit, terrorists outfit,
- 40:31Speaker 2: and you can show the flag and not necessarily break
- 40:33Speaker 2: the law, whereas with the Nazi flag you can't.
- 40:38Speaker 9: Yeah, it's extraordinary.
- 40:39Speaker 17: I mean, we do have these hates this hate symbols legislation.
- 40:43Speaker 17: So the public display of the terrorist organization. You can
- 40:45Speaker 17: show the Palestinian flag, that's okay, any sort of state
- 40:50Speaker 17: flag is fine.
- 40:52Speaker 9: But I would have thought this is, you know, a
- 40:54Speaker 9: terrorist symbol.
- 40:55Speaker 17: And also, as James Patterson pointed out earlier today, there
- 40:59Speaker 17: was also Hamass logos on display. There was the Al
- 41:03Speaker 17: Cassan Brigade logo on display. I mean, this is a
- 41:06Speaker 17: clearly terrorists symbols. So it's a breach of the existing laws.
- 41:10Speaker 17: But isn't it funny we're not policing the existing laws.
- 41:13Speaker 17: They want to bring in more misinformation laws and police
- 41:17Speaker 17: us for criticizing this or speaking out against this. It's
- 41:20Speaker 17: two tier elbow. It's two tier elbow. We're there, we're
- 41:24Speaker 17: all very well put. But Damien, this is the thing,
- 41:26Speaker 17: this is the principle.
- 41:27Speaker 2: It's easier to police the peaceful than it is to
- 41:32Speaker 2: police a group of very angry guys in the street.
- 41:36Speaker 2: That's what you're seeing, Damien Currie, Stephen TREVERA thank you
- 41:39Speaker 2: both for your time. After the break just when we've
- 41:42Speaker 2: got supporters is and as terrorists taking over our streets.
- 41:44Speaker 2: The Albertizi government announces it's actually hard an expert to
- 41:48Speaker 2: fight your fear of Islam.
- 41:52Speaker 3: This is amazing. I talked to the author of a
- 41:54Speaker 3: new book on this madness.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Now Vorn for more than twenty years now my columns
- 42:03Speaker 2: and speeches, that a new Jew hatred is growing in
- 42:05Speaker 2: the West, in Australia, in the left. But even though
- 42:09Speaker 2: I've been stunned by how bad it's got and so fast,
- 42:13Speaker 2: and it's not just among Muslims, like this preacher of
- 42:16Speaker 2: course last October, after hearing how asteris has just killed
- 42:19Speaker 2: twelve hundred Jews, which is what actually started this.
- 42:21Speaker 18: War, smiling and I'm happy. I'm in Hayden. It's a
- 42:29Speaker 18: day of courage.
- 42:40Speaker 8: No.
- 42:41Speaker 2: Hating Israel's become very popular also with the left, broadly
- 42:45Speaker 2: with the young, with school children, and hating Israel with
- 42:49Speaker 2: such venom and such ignorance that often I can't tell
- 42:53Speaker 2: the difference between their hatred of Israel and a hatred
- 42:57Speaker 2: of Jews. And all this is and more is a
- 43:00Speaker 2: brilliant new book by a friend and long term guests,
- 43:03Speaker 2: and the show O'Neil from a Spike Online who is
- 43:06Speaker 2: now published after the poet program, which is isn't so
- 43:10Speaker 2: much about the massacre last October, but the West reaction
- 43:15Speaker 2: to it. Brendan O'Neill joins me, now, Brindan, great to
- 43:19Speaker 2: catch up with you again.
- 43:20Speaker 3: What a great read.
- 43:22Speaker 2: But I have to say there's a note of despair
- 43:25Speaker 2: in the this from you and like almost a real anger.
- 43:29Speaker 2: You talk about the rise of a new barbarism.
- 43:32Speaker 3: What's causing it? Do you think?
- 43:36Speaker 19: Yeah, I really think there is a new barbarism, a
- 43:38Speaker 19: culture of barbarism. And the point I make in the
- 43:41Speaker 19: book is that on seventh of October twenty twenty three,
- 43:44Speaker 19: there were two explosions of barbarism. There was her Massa's
- 43:47Speaker 19: attack on Israel, which was the worst act of anti
- 43:50Speaker 19: Jewish slaughter since the Holocaust. And then there was the
- 43:53Speaker 19: celebration of a Mass's attack in many areas of the West.
- 43:58Speaker 19: You know, we had leftists in Britain referring to it
- 44:00Speaker 19: as a day of celebration. We had people dancing in
- 44:03Speaker 19: the streets of London, and of course in Sydney and
- 44:06Speaker 19: in Paris and in Berlin. We had newspaper columnists making
- 44:09Speaker 19: excuses for her Mass and what they had just done
- 44:12Speaker 19: in southern Israel. So the point I make in my
- 44:14Speaker 19: book is that this event, the pogrom of seventh of October,
- 44:18Speaker 19: confirms something we already knew, which is that her Mass
- 44:21Speaker 19: is a due hating machine that poses as a national
- 44:24Speaker 19: liberation movement. But it also exposed the rot in our
- 44:27Speaker 19: own societies, the rot, the moral confusion and the moral disarray.
- 44:32Speaker 19: And I think our chickens are coming home to roost.
- 44:35Speaker 19: I think if you encourage the young, in particular to
- 44:38Speaker 19: turn their backs on the gains of Western civilization, to
- 44:41Speaker 19: be anti Western, to be fashionably against their own societies,
- 44:46Speaker 19: then you can't really be surprised when they are at
- 44:48Speaker 19: tempted by the law of barbarism, when they look at
- 44:51Speaker 19: her Mass and see something almost worth celebrating. So seventh
- 44:55Speaker 19: of October is exposed just how profound the crisis of
- 44:58Speaker 19: civilization is in our own society.
- 45:01Speaker 2: Oh, I agree, absolutely, there's a wider context of the
- 45:04Speaker 2: demonization of the wisk not with the values and all
- 45:07Speaker 2: that kind of stuff.
- 45:09Speaker 3: It's hard for academics.
- 45:10Speaker 2: Oh, we were just kidding about that about you know,
- 45:12Speaker 2: being a racist, colonial terrible appressive regime. Please please don't
- 45:18Speaker 2: sell us out too late. Now we're told by protesters
- 45:23Speaker 2: that oh, no, no, no, Brendan, we're not anti Jewish,
- 45:28Speaker 2: We're just anti Israel, or that we're anti Zionists. Do
- 45:32Speaker 2: you see a difference?
- 45:35Speaker 19: Increasingly, No, I really don't. And in fact, one of
- 45:38Speaker 19: the chapters in my book makes the case that anti
- 45:40Speaker 19: Zionism is anti Semitism. Anti Zionism is the mask that
- 45:44Speaker 19: antisemitism wears in the twenty first century, because if you
- 45:48Speaker 19: look at the criticisms that are made of Israel, they
- 45:51Speaker 19: are very similar to the kinds of comments that were
- 45:54Speaker 19: once made about the Jewish people. You know, we are
- 45:56Speaker 19: told that Israel is a uniquely blood lusting nation, equally
- 46:00Speaker 19: murderous that echoes the old blood libels that were once
- 46:04Speaker 19: issued against the Jewish people. We're told that Israel loves
- 46:07Speaker 19: killing children, just as we were told that Jews used
- 46:10Speaker 19: to kill Christian children. We are told that Israel puppeteers
- 46:14Speaker 19: world affairs. It has America and Britain eaten out of
- 46:17Speaker 19: the palm of its hand, which echoes the old Nazi
- 46:20Speaker 19: idea that the Jews were secretly controlling the world. You
- 46:23Speaker 19: know when people say that the Zionists run the media,
- 46:27Speaker 19: and the Zionists run world politics, and the Zionists are
- 46:30Speaker 19: behind everything, just because they're using the Z word, shouldn't
- 46:33Speaker 19: let them get away with the fact that they are
- 46:35Speaker 19: repeating old conspiracy theories and old racist tropes that were
- 46:39Speaker 19: traditionally said about the Jews. So I increasingly see the
- 46:43Speaker 19: animus towards Israel at which some people will refer to
- 46:46Speaker 19: as Israeli phobia, as a new form of anti Semitism.
- 46:50Speaker 19: It's the form anti Semitism now takes. And for left
- 46:53Speaker 19: wingers and supposed anti racists to be on the street
- 46:56Speaker 19: shoulder to shoulder with radical Islamists who are calling for
- 47:00Speaker 19: the destruction of the Jewish state, it is so shameful.
- 47:03Speaker 19: It has heaped shame on our society. Since seventh of October.
- 47:08Speaker 2: I'm afraid I'll be earning a PostScript to your book
- 47:10Speaker 2: with a court case, suspect.
- 47:13Speaker 3: We'll talk about that later.
- 47:14Speaker 2: Where are institutions in this Brendan? Here we have our
- 47:18Speaker 2: labor government attacking Israel, not defending it, slow to call
- 47:21Speaker 2: out the hate preachers, and in fact implying that Muslims
- 47:24Speaker 2: are the real victims here our governed today. Can you
- 47:27Speaker 2: believe this appointed in islamophobia envoy as if fear of
- 47:32Speaker 2: Islam is probably just racist brendan and a huge problem,
- 47:35Speaker 2: what do you think is happening there?
- 47:38Speaker 19: I think that I don't accept the idea of Islamophobia.
- 47:43Speaker 19: I simply don't. There is anti Muslim bigotry, of course
- 47:46Speaker 19: there is, just as there is anti Catholic bigotry, anti
- 47:49Speaker 19: sekh bigotry. One should never be bigoted or hateful towards
- 47:53Speaker 19: a group on the basis of their religious beliefs, or
- 47:55Speaker 19: their national heritage or anything else. Of course, I hope
- 47:58Speaker 19: that goes without saying. But Islamophobia is something different. This
- 48:02Speaker 19: is an invented term which is largely designed to prevent
- 48:06Speaker 19: criticism of a religion to punish blasphemy. Essentially, it's a
- 48:10Speaker 19: blasphemy law by the back door. And I really don't
- 48:13Speaker 19: like the way in which Islamophobia is compared to anti Semitism.
- 48:17Speaker 19: Anti Semitism has got long routes, it's one of the
- 48:20Speaker 19: world's oldest patriots. It has called a death of millions
- 48:24Speaker 19: of people, and Islamophobia is much more about censoring those
- 48:28Speaker 19: who hold.
- 48:29Speaker 2: Views all of the scale is incomparable Brennan O'Neil, great book.
- 48:34Speaker 3: Thank you so much for coming on the show. I'd
- 48:36Speaker 3: love to catch up with you. Thank you. That's it
- 48:39Speaker 3: from me now, Sherry Maxon
