Due to our extensive holdings that of our clients in your host, you should assume that we have a position in all companies discussed and that a conflict of interest exists. The information presented is provided for informational purposes. And now, Paul Truesdell? Well, this morning I talked a little bit about the fact that if you want to reduce the number of people who are strangled, people who wind up hanging themselves, who are suffocating themselves everything by suicide, okay? suicide by hanging strangulation, or suffocation, it's a real thing that you want to reduce the spending on science, space and technology, us spending. I said that correlation is not necessarily a causation, I want to follow up with that. And give you one more item, and then I'll correlate this to Nicolas Cage. Now, let's assume you have $10,000. And you make a 100% rate of return. At the end of the year, you will have $20,000 Because 100% Return on $10,000 will equal $20,000. Now the next year, you lose 50%. Where are you at? Well, if you were at $20,000, and you lose 50%, you're back to $10,000. But your stock broker, your commission based person is going to say something to you like Hey, Bob, you did really well, because you made 100%. One year, you lost 50%. So 50 from 100 equals 50. Over the last two years, Bob, your average 25% rate of return. I think that's fantastic. You should be satisfied with that. This is the type of convoluted logic that is used all the time by people who well know how to manipulate the emotions of those who are not that sharp. When it comes to numbers. And I warn you the overwhelming majority of the population does not do well when it comes to managing money because, well, numbers are tough for a lot of people. Now, I said I would talk about Nicolas Cage. We need to ban Nicolas Cage from the moviemaking industry because people tend to fall into and drowned in pools based upon the number of movies Nicolas Cage appears in year after year after year. So for example, in 1999, Nicolas Cage was in two films, and there were 109 drownings in pools in the US. I know you might say, oh, there's got to be more than that. No, no, no, that's what it was. Then in 2000, he was in two films. And the number of drownings was 102. Then in 2001, he's in two films. And again, it's 102. Now, the problem is when Nicolas Cage is in more movies, so for example, when he in 2007 was in four films, the number of pool drownings went up to 123. If we look at for example, in 2003, one film in a number of drownings dropped to 85. Same thing happened in 2004. He was in one film in the drownings dropped to 95. He was in two films again, and it seems to go up. Now, when he did four films in 2009. It was back up to 102. drowning. So there's a correlation between the number of movies and Nicolas Cage makes and drownings. So, using good convoluted logic, right, good convoluted logic. What we need to do is say Nicolas Cage needs to be prevented from making any more movies in Hollywood, because Nicolas Cage is causing people to fall into pools and drown. Why we don't know. But it's a correlation in by God, just like Bob is making a 25% rate of return. Oh, forget the fact that Bob is right back where he began. He's averaging a 25% rate of return ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls one in all. I know I'm sarcastic. That's why you like me. That's why this is called the Paul Truesdale podcast because what else I'm Paul Truesdale. And I'm sick and tired of people. Buffalo in London. telling you things that simply are not true.
