- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn as.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Hester and Hester got a pot a pot.
- 0:07Speaker 1: From carrying each other to and Natty to carrying each other.
- 0:11Speaker 3: On the air Stop Control.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Live from the Raising Caine studio, it's off the bench.
- 1:07Speaker 4: Hello, Hey, what's up our three? Yes, the third hour
- 1:17Speaker 4: was the third hour of three hours. Three hours.
- 1:20Speaker 2: There's one, there's two, and then there's three. And that's
- 1:24Speaker 2: where we're at.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Okay, So I do have something to say, something to
- 1:33Speaker 4: talk about. I don't know if where you're going with this,
- 1:36Speaker 4: but I was we were driving in the yard the
- 1:38Speaker 4: other day. We were leaving the house. We're driving in
- 1:40Speaker 4: your yard. That's kind of well, driving down our driveway
- 1:43Speaker 4: doing donuts in your yard, all right, it's kind of odd.
- 1:47Speaker 4: Sorry misspoke. Probably the last time I was driving on
- 1:50Speaker 4: the driveway, whole family in and we looked to the
- 1:52Speaker 4: left and over yard and I'll see this mound of dirt.
- 1:56Speaker 4: I'm like, okay, kind of looks like a cross fish chimney.
- 2:03Speaker 4: But I was like, what is it?
- 2:04Speaker 5: Like?
- 2:04Speaker 4: What could be making this in the middle of the yard.
- 2:06Speaker 4: I'm like, okay, what is that? Is it like some
- 2:07Speaker 4: beetles making It's we go over there, we inspect it,
- 2:11Speaker 4: and it's sure enough, it's this big. It's probably about
- 2:12Speaker 4: twelve inches tall, this little cylinder, cylinder of dirt mud, yeah,
- 2:18Speaker 4: with a hole in the middle. So something's made. That's
- 2:20Speaker 4: some creature has made this. And I know what, like
- 2:22Speaker 4: a chimney, like a crawfish chimney. Looks like, yeah, like
- 2:25Speaker 4: this looks a lot like it. So I take a picture,
- 2:27Speaker 4: throw it in chat GPT and sure enough it says
- 2:29Speaker 4: crawfish chimney. I'm like, all right, I get what it
- 2:31Speaker 4: looks like. I get what you think it is. But
- 2:35Speaker 4: this is in the middle of the yard. I don't
- 2:36Speaker 4: live on water. There's no like lake, there's nothing here,
- 2:40Speaker 4: so like it. So I started doing my research, is like,
- 2:43Speaker 4: what is it? Well, yeah, in South Louisiana, crawfish apparently
- 2:48Speaker 4: just live like in the dirt everywhere, just crawlfish. So
- 2:52Speaker 4: it wasn't beatles it was it was it was actual crawlfish, Okay.
- 2:56Speaker 4: And so there's a certain type of crawlfish lives like
- 2:58Speaker 4: can live like one one three feet down in the
- 3:01Speaker 4: bed and yeah, I guess like we do get some rain.
- 3:04Speaker 4: This kind of it was kind of near like a
- 3:05Speaker 4: runoff area. It's certainly not near a lake, certainly not
- 3:08Speaker 4: near a crawfish pond. So it's got crawfish just hanging
- 3:12Speaker 4: out in my yard. And I know this is like
- 3:13Speaker 4: the time of the year. After doing some research, this
- 3:15Speaker 4: is the time of the year season. I tell you
- 3:17Speaker 4: got did you find that picture? This is it? Right?
- 3:19Speaker 4: Or unbelievable?
- 3:21Speaker 6: This is like a crawfish apartment. That's a crawfish howlsing.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Look at that thing, that's a crawfish castle. Like, look
- 3:28Speaker 4: at this thing. And it's in the middle of my yard.
- 3:32Speaker 4: You'd be careful driving through your yard. Knock that over. Yeah,
- 3:35Speaker 4: no donuts there, but like loay at that unbelievable. Oh man.
- 3:39Speaker 4: So it really just got me curious. Was like South Louisiana.
- 3:42Speaker 4: I figured the crawfish had to live, like buy you
- 3:46Speaker 4: in a lake, in a crawfish pond, in a creek. Nope,
- 3:50Speaker 4: just by the clovers right there, got a lot of
- 3:52Speaker 4: weeds in my yard.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Taylor's shaking his head. You don't even know what kind
- 3:58Speaker 2: of clover that is. Probably did you catch him.
- 4:00Speaker 6: It's a it's a it's a three leaf.
- 4:01Speaker 4: I can see it. No I should I mean, but like,
- 4:05Speaker 4: I don't know what kind of crawfish lives in dirt.
- 4:08Speaker 4: It's it the same kind of crawfish we boil. I
- 4:10Speaker 4: don't know. It's a weird situation, though. I found it
- 4:15Speaker 4: strange that just at any moment, apparently crawfish should just
- 4:18Speaker 4: be in the dirt under you. I didn't know that.
- 4:24Speaker 4: I didn't know that either.
- 4:25Speaker 2: I mean, I thought it had to be a body
- 4:26Speaker 2: of water type situation. I'm gonna be honest with you,
- 4:29Speaker 2: so I would have done the same thing you did.
- 4:31Speaker 2: I would have asked my good friend, what is this?
- 4:33Speaker 4: I would ask my good because I was like, surely
- 4:35Speaker 4: it's not a crawfish chimney. I've seen those, and I
- 4:39Speaker 4: know it's like the time of the year for those
- 4:40Speaker 4: to start happening. And you see these popping up wild
- 4:45Speaker 4: situation here in Louisiana. How did they be on earthquakes?
- 4:50Speaker 2: That's pretty impressive engineering there, if I'm being honest. Yeah,
- 4:54Speaker 2: as a there's a hole that go straight down into
- 4:56Speaker 2: the ground. I don't know if they're making fires.
- 5:01Speaker 4: What did you do with it? But what's the purpose
- 5:04Speaker 4: is knock it over?
- 5:05Speaker 1: No?
- 5:06Speaker 4: I didn't.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I was impressed you lit on fire, because like one
- 5:09Speaker 2: day it was like down here, and the next day it
- 5:11Speaker 2: was like here in the top of it was like
- 5:12Speaker 2: you could tell it was like mud. It was like
- 5:14Speaker 2: a little bit wet, it was dry, and then it
- 5:16Speaker 2: got a little taller every day. It gotta be more
- 5:20Speaker 2: than use them. That was their mortar. It was the mud. Yeah, yeah,
- 5:24Speaker 2: that's what I'm smart animals. Yeah, it's not rocks, its mud,
- 5:28Speaker 2: mud bugs, if you will. But what's it for? That's
- 5:34Speaker 2: the good that's the deeper question. What do they use
- 5:36Speaker 2: this for? They just if they want to get out,
- 5:39Speaker 2: they don't need a chimney.
- 5:40Speaker 6: Scrawl out the hole in the ground.
- 5:42Speaker 4: Scrawl the hole the ground. You don't need all that.
- 5:44Speaker 6: They got to dig the hole first in the ground
- 5:47Speaker 6: and then build that from the.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Ground, right, Daniel Bashim said, So Flynn just thought they
- 5:52Speaker 2: were ironically called mud bug.
- 5:55Speaker 4: No, well, I figure out, like there's mud, I get it.
- 5:57Speaker 4: They like bury themselves in the mud in a body
- 5:59Speaker 4: of water. I didn't know they lived in the dirt
- 6:02Speaker 4: all over my yard, not near a lake. These things
- 6:09Speaker 4: are these things are incredible. What an incredible species? Iron
- 6:15Speaker 4: not ironically Okay, I got it, but like, yeah, they
- 6:17Speaker 4: bury themselves in the mud, like in water, not in
- 6:21Speaker 4: my dirt. Get out of my dirt.
- 6:26Speaker 2: When is discovered mudbugs breaking news. All right, guys, relaxed.
- 6:30Speaker 2: I knew it was a Cravis chimney when I drove
- 6:32Speaker 2: by it. I knew it looked like one. Like, there's
- 6:34Speaker 2: no way that one is. It's gotta be some sort
- 6:36Speaker 2: of beetle.
- 6:41Speaker 4: Oh Man. Anyway, my mind is blown, and I hope
- 6:44Speaker 4: yours this too.
- 6:47Speaker 6: I feel shocked.
- 6:48Speaker 4: I feel shocked. Do you have that video that Flynn
- 6:52Speaker 4: sitt in the group? Chat?
- 6:53Speaker 6: Yes for one second?
- 6:55Speaker 4: Sound yeah, We're gonna watch them know, we're gonna watch
- 6:58Speaker 4: it together on air.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Uh.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Lou Holtz unfortunately did pass away yesterday. National champion head
- 7:08Speaker 2: coach at Notre Dame. I was the coach of the
- 7:11Speaker 2: Jets from one year and like famously said, you know,
- 7:13Speaker 2: guy put me on the starters for college football and
- 7:15Speaker 2: not professional football South Carolina, Arkansas. Just college football legend obviously,
- 7:21Speaker 2: and you know, been a lot of places college football.
- 7:23Speaker 4: Hall of Famer.
- 7:23Speaker 2: And I think a lot of people that are either
- 7:27Speaker 2: right at my age or certainly younger, they remember Lou
- 7:30Speaker 2: Holtz for being on ESPN with Reyes Davis and Mark
- 7:34Speaker 2: may right, he had he had the final show there,
- 7:37Speaker 2: they would kind of close out the college football day.
- 7:40Speaker 4: So rest in peace.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Lou Holtz obviously, as I said, a legend in college
- 7:44Speaker 2: football and passed away. Yes, I believe it at eighty nine.
- 7:47Speaker 2: They are eighty nine years old yesterday. So skip Holts
- 7:51Speaker 2: obviously spent a long time in Louisiana, was Louisiana Tech's
- 7:54Speaker 2: head coach for a very very long time, and so
- 7:57Speaker 2: different parts of this state, certainly Lou Holtz is you know,
- 8:00Speaker 2: been a part of and certainly had relationships here. So
- 8:04Speaker 2: and the last coach to Lee Notre Dame to a
- 8:06Speaker 2: national chamber, that's right, probaly the last coach ever will
- 8:11Speaker 2: all right, So this is something that Flynn wanted us
- 8:15Speaker 2: to play. He was shocked that we didn't know what
- 8:19Speaker 2: this was.
- 8:19Speaker 4: I was. I was so shocked. I was like, man,
- 8:22Speaker 4: I still I've watched it a billion times at a
- 8:24Speaker 4: billion different places, Lou Holtz's magic trick with the newspaper,
- 8:28Speaker 4: and like I'm talking about it, like everybody knows what
- 8:30Speaker 4: I'm talking about in the Fox Hall, but nobody like,
- 8:34Speaker 4: what are you talking about? So I had to send
- 8:37Speaker 4: him the video, and I just thought this was common
- 8:39Speaker 4: knowledge for everybody. I saw him do it everywhere. He
- 8:41Speaker 4: was a motivational speaker who would go and he would
- 8:43Speaker 4: do this trick with the newspaper. He teared up and
- 8:46Speaker 4: he did. I saw him dude on Game. I saw
- 8:48Speaker 4: him dude on like all these different TV shows. That
- 8:50Speaker 4: was like what I outside of Winter National Championship with
- 8:53Speaker 4: Notre Dame. That's kind of what I associate with him
- 8:56Speaker 4: all the time when I think about him. Oh, the newspaper, newspaper,
- 8:59Speaker 4: magic trick, Not y'all, not at all. First time here
- 9:03Speaker 4: and here we go, let's do it together.
- 9:05Speaker 7: It's like any other newspaper. You have front page for
- 9:09Speaker 7: people want to read the news, you have the comics
- 9:13Speaker 7: for people can't read, and you have the editorial page
- 9:18Speaker 7: where people can't think. But you can't let people tarry up.
- 9:23Speaker 7: You can't let people destroy you. You can't let people
- 9:28Speaker 7: say you aren't going to be great. Don't ever let
- 9:30Speaker 7: anybody tell you you can't do something. My personal belief,
- 9:35Speaker 7: is there any obstacle it's going to keep me from
- 9:39Speaker 7: being successful? Difficult? You're down gone right. That's why so
- 9:42Speaker 7: few people achieve success. Don't let people carry up, don't
- 9:47Speaker 7: let people carry down. Don't let people cause you to
- 9:51Speaker 7: lose the faith and confide you have in yourself. Because
- 9:54Speaker 7: if you really have a strong faith and a strong blow,
- 10:07Speaker 7: how do you do that?
- 10:07Speaker 4: How do you do that? Oh? Jake looked down when
- 10:09Speaker 4: he did that. The hope for.
- 10:11Speaker 8: People that weren't watching.
- 10:12Speaker 2: He was tearing the newspaper up, and then at the
- 10:15Speaker 2: end it was all put back together, tearing it.
- 10:17Speaker 4: Up, talking and like in my head, I've put this
- 10:21Speaker 4: in my head like a billion times, Like, how's he
- 10:23Speaker 4: do it? He's got one like folded up while he's
- 10:25Speaker 4: tearing it, But then at that point you would have
- 10:29Speaker 4: torn up paper on the ground when you're hiding it.
- 10:31Speaker 4: I don't know. It's incredible.
- 10:36Speaker 2: It's a great trick with a great message, don't let
- 10:39Speaker 2: people tear you up? In said the Baldy four chat.
- 10:45Speaker 2: I love the flow of this segment. Mudbugs lout diyes
- 10:48Speaker 2: lou newspaper magic trick. Really third hours when we when
- 10:52Speaker 2: we come to life.
- 10:54Speaker 4: Yeah, it's our hour.
- 10:56Speaker 6: I wanted to really just to warm up.
- 10:58Speaker 4: Yeah, it really is the last sixty minutes to get
- 11:01Speaker 4: the obligatory sports talk out there. You know what I mean,
- 11:07Speaker 4: never seen it, never seen a newspaper. Good mess out
- 11:10Speaker 4: a lot, great message and it's an impressive trick. Mhm.
- 11:17Speaker 6: That makes sense that Daniel Bagham said, Uh, I bet
- 11:19Speaker 6: he hid the real newspaper behind his A year whoa,
- 11:22Speaker 6: I must have been at who the old penny behind
- 11:24Speaker 6: the ear?
- 11:24Speaker 4: Whoa?
- 11:25Speaker 6: Oh you so you can't get hide a newspaper because it's.
- 11:29Speaker 4: Big too soon? Our people hopes a legend. I really
- 11:39Speaker 4: want to push the button. We are going to push
- 11:41Speaker 4: the button at the end of the hour. We're going
- 11:42Speaker 4: to push the button to push you just joining in.
- 11:46Speaker 4: We have these butts were pushing the cough mike. What
- 11:49Speaker 4: if what happens the red button?
- 11:51Speaker 6: If you want early dismissal, we'll push it now.
- 11:53Speaker 4: What if we pushed all three at the same time.
- 11:56Speaker 4: I don't know if we really want to see what
- 11:59Speaker 4: happened at the end of the show. Why did OTB
- 12:01Speaker 4: go away? You know they got fired. They pushed the
- 12:03Speaker 4: red button on the desk. It's gonna sit in there
- 12:06Speaker 4: the earthquake, that's right, it's going to cause an earthquake.
- 12:09Speaker 4: Might have been our fault.
- 12:11Speaker 2: All right, we'll step away more OTB when we come

- 15:00Speaker 2: Yesterday I saw this come across the wire and I said, well, man,
- 15:04Speaker 2: if this this is not an OTB segment. This comes
- 15:08Speaker 2: from Logan Paul, the quote, not a single football player
- 15:15Speaker 2: could beat me in a boxing match.
- 15:16Speaker 4: I would throttle Miles Garrett. Any football player one million dollars.
- 15:21Speaker 4: You come to the gym, we put on boxing gloves.
- 15:24Speaker 4: We see how it goes. Not a single one. I
- 15:27Speaker 4: will throw hands with any of you m efforts.
- 15:29Speaker 6: I actually kind of agree with him. Boxing is more
- 15:33Speaker 6: of like a technical thing than a strength thing. I
- 15:36Speaker 6: know people give him crap.
- 15:38Speaker 4: Like he's not bad, but see, way it's important here.
- 15:42Speaker 6: Logan Paul.
- 15:44Speaker 4: It doesn't look small.
- 15:45Speaker 6: No, See, he's got to be over two hundred. He ways,
- 15:52Speaker 6: this is two twenty.
- 15:54Speaker 4: He's not twenty. Let's combine two of nine.
- 16:02Speaker 2: It depends on how long you give Okay, because he's
- 16:04Speaker 2: been you know, he does to the wrestling, does the Bible,
- 16:06Speaker 2: and it's all stems because Tom Brady was giving him
- 16:08Speaker 2: a hard time about being a a wrestler and wrestling
- 16:12Speaker 2: being you know, being soft compared to football players.
- 16:15Speaker 5: In six to two, he was one eighty nine for
- 16:18Speaker 5: the Mayweather fight obviously.
- 16:19Speaker 6: Yeah, but yeah, like I guess his walk around weighs
- 16:22Speaker 6: around two of five two twenty.
- 16:23Speaker 4: Yeah. I asked that question because do you remember they
- 16:25Speaker 4: all show Shaq.
- 16:26Speaker 6: Versus Love Shak versus.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Him and Oscar de la Hoya one time did one
- 16:30Speaker 2: and look Oscar de la Hoya was tattooing him, but
- 16:32Speaker 2: it didn't didn't hurt you face him, you know, because
- 16:35Speaker 2: we're talking about size s difference. Now Oscar was again
- 16:38Speaker 2: just hit him seven times before Shack could pick his
- 16:40Speaker 2: hands up. But that's why I asked kind of the
- 16:43Speaker 2: weight question, was Oscar fishnets?
- 16:46Speaker 3: I think about how.
- 16:46Speaker 6: Many hits to the head these NFL players get and
- 16:49Speaker 6: don't really care. Like I'm kind of with you, I
- 16:51Speaker 6: kind of feel like that'd be the outcome, Like Miles
- 16:53Speaker 6: Garrett's pushing three hundred pounds, Like even Chase Young at
- 16:56Speaker 6: the Saints, I mean, Chase Shong's sixty six. There's there's
- 17:00Speaker 6: some big guys that you may be more technically sound
- 17:03Speaker 6: than I'm, like, how much you your punch is actually
- 17:05Speaker 6: going to hurt them?
- 17:08Speaker 2: I tell you what, I give the Paul Brothers a
- 17:10Speaker 2: lot of credit because they make people care about their
- 17:13Speaker 2: fights and what they're.
- 17:14Speaker 4: Doing make people care about people shouldn't care. Yeah, I
- 17:19Speaker 4: mean he's got of course a lot of people tweeting
- 17:21Speaker 4: back at him as on Bell who has head boxing experience.
- 17:25Speaker 6: If they have boxing experience, then like it's a thing.
- 17:27Speaker 4: But I don't think it's like somebody that has never
- 17:30Speaker 4: boxed before they got our own. Brandon Voko also, I
- 17:33Speaker 4: would beat the brakes off of you.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Is always out there and there's some people out there
- 17:39Speaker 2: like I'd like to see Aaron Donald fight him. I
- 17:46Speaker 2: like to see him fight anybody somebody that not saying
- 17:48Speaker 2: he's a good fighter, but like try, I don't think
- 17:51Speaker 2: you're gonna hurt him.
- 17:52Speaker 4: And I think even if you block his punches, I
- 17:53Speaker 4: think his punches are going to go through your your
- 17:56Speaker 4: fists to his face.
- 17:58Speaker 6: Somebody chets that. Fred Warner, it's another good one.
- 18:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll be pretty good. Yes, if he's a good fighter,
- 18:04Speaker 4: I don't know. I mean, if you're passing a million dollars, is.
- 18:08Speaker 2: It to win or just if I if I I
- 18:11Speaker 2: would do I come in there and get knocked out
- 18:13Speaker 2: for a million, you're not going to get the fight.
- 18:17Speaker 4: Talking like that. You gotta be strong.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Yet match your face, no doubt, no doubt.
- 18:29Speaker 4: He's also that owner of like a really crappy hydration
- 18:31Speaker 4: company too. Wait logan, Yeah, which one is it? I'm
- 18:36Speaker 4: not even gonna give it the time of day. Everybody
- 18:38Speaker 4: knows what it is, but it's really crappy. It doesn't
- 18:39Speaker 4: even have a sodium minute. What are you losing your sweat?
- 18:44Speaker 4: I don't know which one it is. It's funny.
- 18:46Speaker 6: I won't bring up the name either. I know what
- 18:48Speaker 6: you're talking about. I wouldn't even consider that a hydration company. Yeah,
- 18:51Speaker 6: I've had it.
- 18:53Speaker 4: Well, what world does it live in? It lives in
- 18:56Speaker 4: the sports stream they have, Yeah, and it's everywhere. I
- 19:02Speaker 4: think it's the main hydration company for UFC. And it
- 19:05Speaker 4: really pisses me off. Oh so it's the one that
- 19:07Speaker 4: starts with the P, the one that starts with the P.
- 19:08Speaker 4: And it really pisses me off because it is not
- 19:11Speaker 4: a good hydration product. Well, it's objectively.
- 19:14Speaker 6: Energy drinks too.
- 19:15Speaker 4: Well, it's the same thing. It's the same brand, but
- 19:17Speaker 4: they have an energy like version of it. They actually
- 19:19Speaker 4: got in trouble with it early on. But it's a
- 19:22Speaker 4: bad hydration product. It is. Sorry, I'm not afraid to
- 19:24Speaker 4: talk bad about competitors. It's got all of tassium. Well
- 19:28Speaker 4: you don't. Hey, when you played Little league baseball in
- 19:33Speaker 4: your hat had like all those salts things on it.
- 19:37Speaker 4: You think that was fasting?
- 19:39Speaker 7: No.
- 19:42Speaker 4: So three behind and I digress.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Somebody I said, Max Crosby would destroy him. Hey, look
- 19:53Speaker 2: at that. We're gonna find him. I mean, Max been
- 19:56Speaker 2: in the streets. We're gonna find our way to a
- 19:59Speaker 2: Max to be a conversation right now.
- 20:02Speaker 4: Okay, I did hear it? Let me let me preface
- 20:04Speaker 4: this with Sam Max Crosby. I was with Defante Adams
- 20:09Speaker 4: last spring. Ye, who of course was teammates with Max
- 20:11Speaker 4: Crosby for a little while.
- 20:12Speaker 2: He said, Max Crosby is probably, if not the one
- 20:14Speaker 2: of the greatest athletes I've ever been around.
- 20:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:17Speaker 2: An athlete, not just saying best of his position, right,
- 20:20Speaker 2: just full blown athlete.
- 20:22Speaker 7: Uh.
- 20:22Speaker 4: He is possibly available in a trade.
- 20:25Speaker 2: We talked about True McDuffie with the Rams gave up
- 20:28Speaker 2: to get him.
- 20:29Speaker 4: What would you give up for Max Crosby?
- 20:33Speaker 2: What the team is an edge rusher who is relentless
- 20:36Speaker 2: in his effort. I mean they can be a four
- 20:39Speaker 2: win team at the end of the season. The guys
- 20:41Speaker 2: try and everything he's got. I think Max Crosby or
- 20:44Speaker 2: Trey Hendrickson will be a Dallas cowboy.
- 20:47Speaker 4: I'd rather have Max Crosby than Tube. I just said
- 20:50Speaker 4: the trade him for the Cowboys. I think that one.
- 20:55Speaker 4: I think one of those two guys will be a cowboy.
- 20:57Speaker 6: I think I think Hendrickson's more likely. I don't think
- 21:00Speaker 6: the Cowboys are an edge rusher away from making a run.
- 21:03Speaker 4: That's what Jerry said.
- 21:05Speaker 6: I know, but Jerry says a lot of crap.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Uh.
- 21:07Speaker 6: You know, if you go to trade for Crosby, you're
- 21:09Speaker 6: gonna have to trade a lot for him. To me,
- 21:11Speaker 6: that's a he's our final piece. Let's go get him
- 21:14Speaker 6: and make a run. I don't know if that's the Cowboys.
- 21:19Speaker 4: I don't think he. I don't think Max Crosby's like
- 21:21Speaker 4: Max Saints.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Max had ten sacks last year, so you know, I
- 21:27Speaker 2: mean games you played fifteen? Yeah, fifteen games, because I remember
- 21:29Speaker 2: they shut him down. He's like, why y'a doing this?
- 21:32Speaker 2: Don't I want to play?
- 21:33Speaker 4: He's a dog. I shut him down. He is an
- 21:35Speaker 4: absolute doge.
- 21:37Speaker 2: So you guy that had ten sacks, maxro I love him.
- 21:39Speaker 2: I don't know like they're asking for like two ones.
- 21:41Speaker 2: He ain't getting two ones. Not at this point.
- 21:43Speaker 6: You get it one into two, I would think, right.
- 21:50Speaker 4: Yeah, we're just going like based off production.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Man, it's like Cam Jordan had ten and a half,
- 21:55Speaker 2: Chase Chase Young had ten. So I know the Saints
- 21:58Speaker 2: are in that market, but it's like you gonna have
- 22:00Speaker 2: Chase Young.
- 22:01Speaker 4: It's like, be careful. We talked about like some like
- 22:06Speaker 4: you just started talking about like what would it take
- 22:07Speaker 4: to get trades? We were talking about it one of
- 22:09Speaker 4: the breaks. I think we talked about the Saints last.
- 22:10Speaker 4: It's like, if you could figure out a way to work,
- 22:13Speaker 4: can I know you've got to have two to tango,
- 22:15Speaker 4: like you got to have a green party of course,
- 22:17Speaker 4: But like we're talking about the Saints trading down at
- 22:19Speaker 4: what they could do and like do we take receiver
- 22:21Speaker 4: here or there? Well, if you could figure out a
- 22:23Speaker 4: way to turn that eighth pick overall into a J Brown,
- 22:26Speaker 4: do you do it? Like trade back now then trade
- 22:31Speaker 4: that first round or you got plus the second round?
- 22:33Speaker 4: Do you get as well to trade back? Can you
- 22:35Speaker 4: make that trade for a guy like AJ Brown? Would
- 22:37Speaker 4: you would you take a J? Brown? Over Trying to
- 22:40Speaker 4: go like real young and getting a couple of guys.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Man, I'm just always cautious when it comes to trading
- 22:52Speaker 2: for a guy that the last two spots that he's
- 22:56Speaker 2: been in have ended with him needing to be traded,
- 23:01Speaker 2: and I'm giving enough real assets for that, right, wrong
- 23:04Speaker 2: or indifferent.
- 23:05Speaker 4: His fault, your fault, whoever's fault.
- 23:08Speaker 2: The last two spots that he's been in, the Titans
- 23:10Speaker 2: and now the Eagles, it's kind of ended with him
- 23:12Speaker 2: saying I need to go somewhere else. And that would
- 23:15Speaker 2: make me nervous giving up some real assets because let's
- 23:18Speaker 2: say I give up those assets and his level of
- 23:21Speaker 2: play goes down. And so when he asked for the
- 23:24Speaker 2: trade from my team, I don't get the value because
- 23:27Speaker 2: the play is not the same.
- 23:29Speaker 6: He's a depreciating asset.
- 23:33Speaker 4: You like that.
- 23:34Speaker 6: It's good term.
- 23:36Speaker 2: That's a very good term, very business look at you.
- 23:40Speaker 2: So that's where I would have the biggest caution is
- 23:45Speaker 2: why does this keep happening to the same player. It's
- 23:49Speaker 2: a fair question.
- 23:50Speaker 4: I mean, you can plain the first one on the
- 23:53Speaker 4: Titans organization, but you certainly can't blame.
- 23:57Speaker 2: And again, AJ Brown just had he had Let's see
- 24:03Speaker 2: seventy eight catches one thousand and three yards.
- 24:07Speaker 4: All right.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Stefan Diggs, who just got released yesterday and is free,
- 24:11Speaker 2: had eighty five catches for one thy thirteen yards. So
- 24:16Speaker 2: there's production that was better than aj Brown. Yeah that
- 24:19Speaker 2: doesn't cost me an asset.
- 24:20Speaker 4: Yeah, but anytime the Eagles need to play, they just
- 24:24Speaker 4: touch Bush. I don't know if you can blame him
- 24:27Speaker 4: on that, and I I would understand. I can. I
- 24:30Speaker 4: can support his frustration in that offense as a clear
- 24:34Speaker 4: number one receiver, a guy that wants to be effective.
- 24:37Speaker 2: It was never a fuel naming by yards because DeVante
- 24:39Speaker 2: Smith that more.
- 24:40Speaker 4: But I hear what you're saying, so it got But
- 24:42Speaker 4: I think you want receivers like that that want to
- 24:45Speaker 4: impact the game every single game. The great ones are
- 24:48Speaker 4: like that. They want the ball that's a receiver. So
- 24:52Speaker 4: you can't like blame him for wanting that. And I
- 24:56Speaker 4: think their offense was not good last year. There was
- 24:59Speaker 4: at least Orne, so we made that. We made that
- 25:05Speaker 4: connection during the season, Like he's got the connection. He
- 25:08Speaker 4: had a much better season when Kellen Moore was the
- 25:09Speaker 4: offensive coordinator, so there is some sort of connection there.
- 25:15Speaker 2: But still it's fun to speculate. I would be cautious
- 25:17Speaker 2: there good player.
- 25:20Speaker 4: Would you take him with the eight overall pick? If
- 25:21Speaker 4: A J. Brown was available, then you could take him.
- 25:24Speaker 4: Would you take him? And that's the question I'm asking.
- 25:29Speaker 4: It's rhetorical.
- 25:32Speaker 2: When I can sign Stephan Diggs that had better production,
- 25:35Speaker 2: When I could sign Wandel Robinson who had better production
- 25:38Speaker 2: last year.
- 25:40Speaker 4: To answer the question, and I still have a number
- 25:42Speaker 4: eight pick. No, you don't think he's better right now
- 25:46Speaker 4: in his career than Stefan Diggs.
- 25:51Speaker 2: I mean stats tell me Stephan Diggs had a better year.
- 25:54Speaker 2: S that's it for losers.
- 25:55Speaker 4: We all know that.
- 25:57Speaker 2: All right, we got to go to break I know
- 25:59Speaker 2: we have chef My Johnson joining us. Uh for your
- 26:02Speaker 2: munchie questions when we come back here on OTV. Off

- 28:08Speaker 1: segment hungry. This is Monkey's with executive chef Michael Johnson, Chef.
- 28:16Speaker 4: What's going on? Brother? How we doing? How we living?
- 28:18Speaker 5: I'm good?
- 28:18Speaker 4: How are you guys doing?
- 28:20Speaker 2: Fantastic? Have you had crawfish yet this crawfish season? Because
- 28:24Speaker 2: Matt has him in his yard if you needed something.
- 28:27Speaker 5: Yeah, I have a few of my ard too. I
- 28:30Speaker 5: have not. And actually we're having my son turned sixteen
- 28:34Speaker 5: this weekend and so our next Tuesday rather, but we're
- 28:37Speaker 5: celebrating this weekend and we always celebrate with a crawfish ball,
- 28:40Speaker 5: so it is to come.
- 28:42Speaker 4: What's in the crawfish boil? Like, what's our favorite fixings?
- 28:46Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 28:47Speaker 5: I mean so my brother likes mushrooms in the crawfish bowl,
- 28:50Speaker 5: which I'm a fan of myself, but me too. We
- 28:53Speaker 5: also put this John, I don't think we talked about
- 28:55Speaker 5: this before. It's it's called John John. It's dj o
- 28:58Speaker 5: in dj o in and it's black mushroom little tablets
- 29:02Speaker 5: that you put in there, and it's kind of an
- 29:05Speaker 5: oo mommy flavor, if you will, and it's earthy and
- 29:08Speaker 5: I really love that. John John and the boil and yeah,
- 29:14Speaker 5: I'm salivating thinking about it. Then it's good. Yeah.
- 29:18Speaker 4: So so how many tablets do you put like in
- 29:21Speaker 4: a in the pot?
- 29:23Speaker 5: Two or three? You know, you don't you don't want
- 29:25Speaker 5: to go overboard with it. It just is I'm not
- 29:27Speaker 5: much looking to you know, like just color of the
- 29:29Speaker 5: tails or anything. It just it just adds like a
- 29:32Speaker 5: depth of flavor to it that it's it's not salty,
- 29:35Speaker 5: it's it's it's too mommy. You have to experience it
- 29:37Speaker 5: to understand that. I mean, there is salt in the
- 29:39Speaker 5: tablets to preserve them, but it's like a it's like
- 29:44Speaker 5: a stock tablet if you will, you know, it's it's
- 29:47Speaker 5: like little cubes. But they're they're delicious.
- 29:51Speaker 4: Uh, Chef. We talked about it earlier at the show.
- 29:54Speaker 4: I was I had my mind blown this year. I
- 29:57Speaker 4: had a crawfish chimney in my front yard and I
- 30:00Speaker 4: do not live near a body of water. Yeah, and
- 30:03Speaker 4: I was just blown away that there's just crawfish just
- 30:06Speaker 4: living up in the dirt everywhere. And I'm assuming that
- 30:10Speaker 4: you're aware of this.
- 30:11Speaker 5: Yeah, I have them. I have them in my yard too.
- 30:14Speaker 5: I have a pond in my yard, So it's not
- 30:16Speaker 5: it's not as extraordinary. But I mean, if you have
- 30:18Speaker 5: a ditch or a waterway anywhere, a crawfish can find
- 30:20Speaker 5: its way. Man, And honestly, you know, like you or
- 30:24Speaker 5: me or whoever, there's so many people boiling crawfish these
- 30:27Speaker 5: days that you know that there's always a crawfish escape.
- 30:31Speaker 5: You know, there's always a crawfish escape. And shoot, I've
- 30:35Speaker 5: I mean, I've taken crawfish and put them in my
- 30:37Speaker 5: pond before after after a boil, we had, you know,
- 30:39Speaker 5: had three sacks and only need to two sacks and
- 30:42Speaker 5: didn't want to waste them, so put them in the pond,
- 30:44Speaker 5: you know, for the for the fish. So I can't
- 30:47Speaker 5: be the only redneck that does that, So I assume
- 30:51Speaker 5: you know somebody else that has done that as well.
- 30:53Speaker 5: And yeah, it's not terribly surprising to me.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Hashtag munchies. I need a new chef knife. What brand
- 31:02Speaker 2: does chef recommend?
- 31:03Speaker 5: Yeah, if you're you know, I mean, it depends on budget, right,
- 31:07Speaker 5: Like if you're assuming this is you know, kind of
- 31:10Speaker 5: for the home person, the home chef, so to speak.
- 31:14Speaker 5: There's a company called misen Or Meson M I S. E.
- 31:17Speaker 5: N that makes exceptional knives for the dollar figure that
- 31:21Speaker 5: they charge. They're affordable, they stay sharp, they're they're kind
- 31:25Speaker 5: of a combination of metal made between German steel and
- 31:28Speaker 5: Japanese steel, which makes its German steel is hardy, it's
- 31:34Speaker 5: a working steel, right. Japanese stale is super hard and
- 31:37Speaker 5: super sharp, but it's it chips really easily, and so
- 31:41Speaker 5: it kind of combines to the two different types of
- 31:44Speaker 5: metals and it is affordable.
- 31:48Speaker 4: Am I Yeah, yeah, I just looked it up. I
- 31:52Speaker 4: might be in the market for a knife now.
- 31:54Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 31:55Speaker 4: Talking about it.
- 31:56Speaker 5: So as you look at that knife, you know, there's
- 31:58Speaker 5: it has what you call it trimmed or a flat
- 32:00Speaker 5: or a removed bolster at the at the back edge
- 32:04Speaker 5: of the blade, like Wollostoff for instance, has a heavy
- 32:08Speaker 5: bolster there. It's quite thick and it runs all the
- 32:10Speaker 5: way down to the bottom of the knife to where
- 32:13Speaker 5: the blade is and it can actually prevent you know,
- 32:17Speaker 5: clean cuts, and it also is heavy and so you know,
- 32:21Speaker 5: when you work with a knife in your hand all
- 32:23Speaker 5: day long, that makes a difference, right, And so with
- 32:26Speaker 5: that trim bolster, it makes nice clean cuts cuts. It's
- 32:29Speaker 5: a little bit lighter in your hands, that's you know,
- 32:31Speaker 5: if you're working with a knife in your hand all day,
- 32:33Speaker 5: you can get tender nitis from running the knife, from
- 32:36Speaker 5: gripping it right. And so you know that how how
- 32:39Speaker 5: the knife handle is built is important. And the tang,
- 32:42Speaker 5: so that's that's the blood, the piece of metal that
- 32:45Speaker 5: extends from the blade into the handle, that's called the
- 32:47Speaker 5: tang and it has a full tang so that it
- 32:50Speaker 5: helps with the weight of the knife in your hands.
- 32:53Speaker 4: Is there any like one design and I know there's
- 32:56Speaker 4: different types of knives, is there if somebody's in the
- 32:59Speaker 4: market and wanted to spend the best bang for the
- 33:01Speaker 4: red they wanted to spend their money on one knife
- 33:03Speaker 4: that was like the best all around type. Not the
- 33:06Speaker 4: brain just kind kind of told the brand, but like
- 33:08Speaker 4: the shape, the size, I don't know, like what the
- 33:10Speaker 4: different names are of all these top knives. What would
- 33:12Speaker 4: it be.
- 33:13Speaker 5: Yeah, I have a utility knife that I use a lot,
- 33:15Speaker 5: and it's probably six inches long. It's only about an
- 33:18Speaker 5: inch wide, you know, from from blade to the backbone
- 33:23Speaker 5: or spine, and you can do a lot of stuff
- 33:25Speaker 5: with it. You can use it like a chef's knife
- 33:27Speaker 5: if you need to. You can use it as a
- 33:28Speaker 5: boning knife if you need to. You can use it
- 33:30Speaker 5: as a pairing knife if you handle it cooked correctly,
- 33:33Speaker 5: cut tomatoes and such. Brother, how are you sorry about that?
- 33:39Speaker 5: Ryan Terrio just wants by me its.
- 33:41Speaker 4: Hey yelling him for us? Say we called him a
- 33:44Speaker 4: big dummy.
- 33:46Speaker 5: I'm not gonna do that anyway. Yeah, it's a utility knife,
- 33:57Speaker 5: and it's you know, about six inches six sense blade,
- 34:00Speaker 5: and it's just pretty versatile. Right Like if for a
- 34:04Speaker 5: chef's knife you have that thick, thicker blade, it's really
- 34:07Speaker 5: difficult to do detail work. And if it's too small
- 34:10Speaker 5: as a blade, it's not big enough to do the
- 34:11Speaker 5: heavy duty work. So utility knife kind of meets in
- 34:14Speaker 5: the middle. And if you're looking for something to get
- 34:16Speaker 5: more than one job done, that's that's your baby, right,
- 34:19Speaker 5: there's got.
- 34:20Speaker 4: A nice tang.
- 34:21Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, So this is kind of in the
- 34:24Speaker 2: same line of questioning hashtag Munchie's best brand of pots
- 34:27Speaker 2: and pans that can be bought off the shelf.
- 34:30Speaker 5: Yeah, made in off the shelf. I ordered my stuff online.
- 34:34Speaker 5: I don't know anything off the shelf, you know, I
- 34:37Speaker 5: don't remember the last time I went to the store
- 34:38Speaker 5: or but made In makes exceptional products. I bought something
- 34:42Speaker 5: for my daughter when she graduated from high school and
- 34:46Speaker 5: moved out on her own, and they they're made by chefs,
- 34:49Speaker 5: they were created by chefs, and they are really great quality.
- 34:53Speaker 5: They're not like, you know, if you have the money,
- 34:56Speaker 5: there's other pots and pans out there that have like
- 34:59Speaker 5: copper core that are extremely expensive, but they're super efficient.
- 35:04Speaker 5: All Clad, for instance, makes some of the best pops
- 35:07Speaker 5: and pans that you can buy. But you're gonna you know,
- 35:10Speaker 5: like it's it's an investment. Man. You're talking about seven
- 35:13Speaker 5: or eight thousand dollars for a set, right so made
- 35:17Speaker 5: in you can get that for you can get that
- 35:19Speaker 5: same set for a thousand dollars or under, depending on
- 35:22Speaker 5: how many pans you're looking for. You know, like you
- 35:25Speaker 5: can get a four pan set for like five hundred
- 35:27Speaker 5: dollars and that's high quality stainless steel, that's you know,
- 35:31Speaker 5: riveted together or and you know, it just has the
- 35:34Speaker 5: stuff that you look for in quality. When you when
- 35:37Speaker 5: you hold it, it feels substantial and it's it's it's
- 35:40Speaker 5: got hef to it, it's and it's even it cooks
- 35:43Speaker 5: really evenly.
- 35:46Speaker 4: Hi seg Munchies we got a two parter here. I
- 35:49Speaker 4: have leftover crawfish from a boil this weekend. It was
- 35:51Speaker 4: on Saturday. Are they still good if they've been in
- 35:54Speaker 4: the fridge here on Thursday? And then second part she says,
- 35:57Speaker 4: what should I do with them? Now? I guess I
- 36:01Speaker 4: asked the question, like, what is your favorite part of
- 36:03Speaker 4: crawfish es and what do you like to do after
- 36:05Speaker 4: the boil?
- 36:06Speaker 5: Yeah, Saturday to Thursday's pushing it. If you're gonna eat them,
- 36:09Speaker 5: you you should eat them today five days at the
- 36:11Speaker 5: limit of you know, like really, if you're going to
- 36:13Speaker 5: hold on to them for any amount of time, you
- 36:17Speaker 5: need to freeze them. My favorite thing to do with
- 36:19Speaker 5: crawfish tails that are left over, you know, And I
- 36:22Speaker 5: like to take the potatoes and I like to take
- 36:25Speaker 5: the sausage and the mushrooms and and everything that's in
- 36:27Speaker 5: it and make a crawfish potato salad. And it's, you know,
- 36:32Speaker 5: like put a little mayonnaise in there, smash the potatoes.
- 36:35Speaker 5: I mean, you're just making potato salad, but you're doing
- 36:37Speaker 5: it with the spice and flavor of a crawfish boil.
- 36:39Speaker 5: And I'm salivating again. If it's like Pavlov's dolways start
- 36:45Speaker 5: thinking about this stuff. Yeah, uh, if you've not had
- 36:50Speaker 5: if you've not done that before, man, you're you're missing out.
- 36:53Speaker 5: It's it's it's good. And you don't have to cook
- 36:55Speaker 5: the crawfish any further, right, So that's that's what I
- 36:57Speaker 5: don't want to do. You boil the crawfish tails already
- 37:00Speaker 5: to your still room or what you cook them, and
- 37:02Speaker 5: so cooking them further, drying them or put them in
- 37:04Speaker 5: a soup or whatever, they're just going to continue to
- 37:06Speaker 5: cook and they're going to continue to fall apart. So
- 37:09Speaker 5: what you're making is is a cold salad, right right, Yeah, yeah, it's.
- 37:14Speaker 4: Got the tails in. It's got the tails in the
- 37:15Speaker 4: cold salad.
- 37:16Speaker 5: Yeah, right exactly.
- 37:17Speaker 4: So if you're going to prep for that, would you
- 37:19Speaker 4: throw in like an extra sack or two of potatoes
- 37:21Speaker 4: in the boil during it?
- 37:23Speaker 5: Just I mean, you definitely want to have some potatoes
- 37:25Speaker 5: left over for it, you know what I mean? Or
- 37:27Speaker 5: if you don't, you can boil some potatoes the next
- 37:29Speaker 5: day and boil so that they have that that same flavor, right,
- 37:32Speaker 5: same flavor profile. But yeah, if you if you boil
- 37:35Speaker 5: extra potatoes and garlic you know you want that boiled
- 37:39Speaker 5: garlic in there. You just use the excess of stuff
- 37:43Speaker 5: of that stuff and make your potato salad out of it.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Crawfish potato salad. My mustard or mayonnaise based there.
- 37:52Speaker 5: I think mustard with a little creole, mayonnaise with a
- 37:55Speaker 5: little creole in it, you know what I mean?
- 37:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I like yeah, yeah, all right, well I move,
- 38:02Speaker 2: I'm starving.
- 38:04Speaker 4: Chef.

- 38:06Speaker 2: single week. Thanks propping on with us.

- 38:17Speaker 5: That's true. But mid March, and you know, I think
- 38:19Speaker 5: it was I don't remember mid March. It was like
- 38:23Speaker 5: thirteenth or fourteenth or sixteenth, six years ago we started munchies.
- 38:28Speaker 4: Oh let's go.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Yeah yeah yeah, anniversary coming up?
- 38:33Speaker 4: Yeah, should we do something special?
- 38:35Speaker 2: I think we should, Chef. I think I mean, in
- 38:37Speaker 2: honor of the anniversary. I think you should come in
- 38:39Speaker 2: and work can make us one of those incredible dishes
- 38:44Speaker 2: that you've done before.

- 39:35Speaker 2: living room, saves us money on our energy bills, It
- 39:38Speaker 2: takes the glare off the TV when we're trying to

- 45:02Speaker 6: It hasn't even been four years.
- 45:05Speaker 4: It would be sad I've ever stayed at a job.
- 45:09Speaker 2: All right, me too, I think actually, actually I started
- 45:13Speaker 2: here in February.
- 45:14Speaker 4: I started on serious in March of the same year.
- 45:16Speaker 6: Started March tenth of twenty nineteen. So next week will

- 45:22Speaker 4: It's almost time. All right, I got the two white buttons,
- 45:25Speaker 4: you got the red button. Wait, I'm going in between.
- 45:28Speaker 2: Yeah, so we're all together, all right, nine, We're gonna
- 45:33Speaker 2: fifty five seven six, five four three two one.
- 45:43Speaker 6: I don't think anything happened. What I don't think anything happened.
- 45:46Speaker 6: It's a button stuck.
- 45:48Speaker 4: Yeah, it's Saturdays.
- 45:50Speaker 2: So our former engineer that told us that would knock
- 45:55Speaker 2: us off air if we hit that was lying to
- 45:57Speaker 2: us the entire time, or.
- 45:59Speaker 6: Maybe at some point of there isn't.
- 46:01Speaker 4: Anymore the god that was anti clomatic. We should have
- 46:06Speaker 4: had some like graphic like some sort of like nothing
- 46:09Speaker 4: was gonna happen. I tried to tell y'all that kind
- 46:11Speaker 4: of pisses me off, little pissed how many times I've
- 46:14Speaker 4: avoided there's been another earthquake. We actually don't know what
- 46:19Speaker 4: happened kN air.
- 46:20Speaker 2: We really don't know what happened, fish all over Louisiana,
- 46:24Speaker 2: maybe the world.
- 46:25Speaker 4: I Love you, go America off the bench.
