- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to Dirty Rush, The Truth about Sorority Life with
- 0:04Speaker 1: your hosts me Gia Judice.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Daisy Kent, and Jennifer Kessler.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Hi, guys, welcome back to another episode of Dirty Rush.
- 0:14Speaker 3: I am your host Jennifer Wessler, joined by your other host,
- 0:17Speaker 3: Jia Judice. Today we have a very special guest. This
- 0:21Speaker 3: friend of ours made history as the very first bachelorette
- 0:25Speaker 3: and is basically Indiana University Royalty Trista Sutter. What about
- 0:31Speaker 3: things that I hear You can get dropped from a
- 0:35Speaker 3: house for doing or not doing so, I guess like
- 0:38Speaker 3: not registering on time, but like also you can't tell
- 0:41Speaker 3: people what your top sororities are. You have to follow
- 0:44Speaker 3: every sorority on Instagram.
- 0:46Speaker 2: GA, is that true?
- 0:47Speaker 1: I do not really recall this when I was rushing,
- 0:51Speaker 1: but they are saying now that you have to follow
- 0:54Speaker 1: all of the sororities prior to rushing, otherwise you will
- 0:58Speaker 1: be dropped. I understand that to an extent, just to
- 1:03Speaker 1: show that you have an open mind and that you
- 1:06Speaker 1: do have interest in all of the sororities and you're
- 1:08Speaker 1: not being selective.
- 1:10Speaker 3: I mean, listen, we didn't have computers back in the day,
- 1:13Speaker 3: so I didn't have to worry about any of this.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I really don't think I followed all of the
- 1:20Speaker 1: sororities before rushing. I don't even know if I followed
- 1:23Speaker 1: any of them. I think it was let me rush
- 1:27Speaker 1: and whatever sorority I get in, then I'll follow you after.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Gee, do you think a part of that for you
- 1:33Speaker 3: was because you were already famous? And like I was
- 1:35Speaker 3: gonna say that, Yeah, I mean, I just think they
- 1:37Speaker 3: were probably all just vying for you. They all probably
- 1:39Speaker 3: wanted to yep, Like like, I don't think they gave
- 1:42Speaker 3: a you followed them or not. I would That's how
- 1:44Speaker 3: I would think it went down. I don't know for sure.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I mean I still went through the process like anybody else,
- 1:51Speaker 1: but I do I'm not going to say that I
- 1:53Speaker 1: don't think that had an advantage to it, because that
- 1:57Speaker 1: would just be naive of me.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, well, you weren't just famous, You're also Gia,
- 2:01Speaker 3: so of course they wanted you. But I mean, you
- 2:04Speaker 3: know I think that like that's yeah, it has to have.
- 2:07Speaker 3: I remember when I don't know if I'm not to
- 2:10Speaker 3: talk with this or not, but when Antonia, because Rachel
- 2:13Speaker 3: and Antonio both went to Delaware and Antonia ended up rushing.
- 2:17Speaker 3: She ended up joining rachel sorority, so Alpha FI. But
- 2:20Speaker 3: I remember that when she was getting there, they were
- 2:23Speaker 3: all just in a it was just a whirlwind everybody
- 2:26Speaker 3: wanted Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 2:30Speaker 1: So I mean, listen, I don't think we're I'm not
- 2:34Speaker 1: going to be naive to it. I don't think that
- 2:37Speaker 1: it put us at a disadvantage.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Yeah, listen, it's okay, you have it coming, you have
- 2:43Speaker 3: it good.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Good.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Guess what you've been through enough? Being on a reality
- 2:46Speaker 3: TV should show your whole life. There should be some advantages.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Yeah right, I'm comfortable.
- 2:52Speaker 2: I'm comfortable with that.
- 2:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess that was the one advantage.
- 3:00Speaker 3: God, So you guys, what do you guys think? Does
- 3:04Speaker 3: legacy status even matter anymore? Because I'm I'm hearing mixed things.
- 3:08Speaker 4: I should, I I feel like it should. I'm sorry,
- 3:12Speaker 4: But if your family has a connection to a sorority,
- 3:16Speaker 4: why because I'm hearing that it's used against you.
- 3:18Speaker 5: Why is it used against you? I have heard people.
- 3:21Speaker 4: Say that they don't want to put it on their
- 3:23Speaker 4: on their resume because before they even get to rush,
- 3:28Speaker 4: some girls are are said they're not invited to the
- 3:32Speaker 4: sorority for the first day or whatever based on their legacy.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Is that very heard this, It's very tricky.
- 3:39Speaker 1: So with legacy one hundred percent, it should be valued.
- 3:43Speaker 1: And even when I was in Zata at Ruckers, when
- 3:48Speaker 1: I was rushing the new p and ms, there were
- 3:55Speaker 1: many times I guess when you put the girls list
- 4:00Speaker 1: through Nationals or whatever that portal they use, because now
- 4:04Speaker 1: obviously it's technology based, so it's a little easier to
- 4:07Speaker 1: figure out which girls are legacies or not. There was
- 4:12Speaker 1: a girl who was a legacy of Zada and she
- 4:15Speaker 1: did not get Zada. She got dropped, like within the
- 4:17Speaker 1: first round. And this had to have been my sorority
- 4:22Speaker 1: making a mistake, not realizing that she was a legacy.
- 4:27Speaker 1: So when that does happen, it does get messy because
- 4:31Speaker 1: obviously the girl who gets dropped, who knows that she
- 4:34Speaker 1: was a legacy, gets upset and then it's this whole thing.
- 4:37Speaker 1: But after that, odds are this girl doesn't even want
- 4:42Speaker 1: to be in the sorority knowing that they dropped her.
- 4:45Speaker 1: So it's like, I'm good, But I would say a
- 4:50Speaker 1: lot of the times it is a mistake, but it
- 4:52Speaker 1: does happen often that sororities are not I would say,
- 4:59Speaker 1: careful enough to really seek out who is a legacy
- 5:03Speaker 1: that is rushing and who is not because a lot
- 5:06Speaker 1: of the times girls.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Do get dropped. Do you think that that's partially because, like.
- 5:12Speaker 3: After because it used to be so important, right, and
- 5:14Speaker 3: it could it would get you in, right, So.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Well, yeah, it's basically a token to get you in. Like,
- 5:19Speaker 1: but say, my daughter rushes, she should have legacy to
- 5:23Speaker 1: Zeta no matter where she goes, and she should get
- 5:26Speaker 1: in no matter what. Right.
- 5:28Speaker 3: But what I was going to ask was that, do
- 5:30Speaker 3: you think that after all these years, like people like, well,
- 5:32Speaker 3: guess what, the mother was great, but the daughter not
- 5:35Speaker 3: so much, and now we have to take her, and
- 5:37Speaker 3: like there's like a revolt against that.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Like like lesson I think I think people I'm sure,
- 5:45Speaker 1: you know, committees on sororities, and I'm sure they have
- 5:50Speaker 1: their fair share of saying that like, Okay, this girl's
- 5:54Speaker 1: a legacy, but I really don't think she fits in
- 5:57Speaker 1: with our sorority too bad. If she wants to be
- 6:00Speaker 1: in your sorority, you have.
- 6:01Speaker 2: To accept her. Yeah, that's so right.
- 6:04Speaker 4: So that's feel like I feel halfway through so I
- 6:08Speaker 4: kind of feel like in between. I feel like, so
- 6:11Speaker 4: when I was rushing, if you were a legacy, and
- 6:16Speaker 4: you made it on your own accord, like based on
- 6:18Speaker 4: your personality, based on your experiences, based on what you've accomplished,
- 6:22Speaker 4: based on the potential you had, right that, if you
- 6:28Speaker 4: made it on your own accord to pref Nite, so
- 6:31Speaker 4: the very final night of Rush, then if you still
- 6:35Speaker 4: were if you still had that sorority that you were
- 6:38Speaker 4: a legacy at on your list at pref Night, then
- 6:43Speaker 4: you were in no matter what. So I was a
- 6:46Speaker 4: legacy at Kyo and I made it to Kyo pref Night.
- 6:51Speaker 4: So if I had chosen Kyo then I could have
- 6:54Speaker 4: then I would have one hundred percent gotten in, right,
- 6:58Speaker 4: but I chose to go Alpha Kai. So so I
- 7:00Speaker 4: feel like they should at least not make it so
- 7:06Speaker 4: that it's harder for you to get into the sorority, because,
- 7:09Speaker 4: like I'm a great saying, I'm hearing that people are
- 7:12Speaker 4: are discounted for having that legacy. I don't think they
- 7:16Speaker 4: should be discounted, but I do still think that they
- 7:19Speaker 4: should like mesh with the sorority, that they should show
- 7:23Speaker 4: that they're they have a great personality that they're going
- 7:26Speaker 4: to fit in with whatever this sorority is and then
- 7:30Speaker 4: make it to prefnite, and if they make it to
- 7:32Speaker 4: pref Nite, then they then they're in, you know what I.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Mean, Yeah, I agree with that.
- 7:37Speaker 3: I think that I wonder if part of this whole
- 7:39Speaker 3: legacy thing started because sororities are expensive. We know this, right, Yeah,
- 7:43Speaker 3: you spend a lot of money and you're I don't know,
- 7:46Speaker 3: maybe you feel like if you've spent thousands of dollars,
- 7:49Speaker 3: you know, not just sometimes not just you know, during
- 7:51Speaker 3: the four years, but you're giving to your sorority. Let's say,
- 7:56Speaker 3: you know for years, you're you're right, you're going or
- 7:59Speaker 3: you're running for who whatever it is, and there's an
- 8:03Speaker 3: expectation there, right like I'm I'm giving all this money.
- 8:06Speaker 3: I spent so much money. I want my daughter in.
- 8:09Speaker 3: So I think that's probably part of it.
- 8:12Speaker 2: It totally makes sense.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I think kind of what you were saying Tristall, like
- 8:17Speaker 1: if the legacy who is rushing does not want to
- 8:24Speaker 1: end up at the in that sorority, and they choose
- 8:26Speaker 1: to not be at that in that sorority at the.
- 8:28Speaker 2: End of the day, so be it.
- 8:30Speaker 1: But the sorority should never kick them out before they
- 8:34Speaker 1: have the choice to choose.
- 8:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean before they even show who they are
- 8:40Speaker 4: as a person, and and like you don't even have
- 8:42Speaker 4: the chance to get to know them. That's what I
- 8:45Speaker 4: have a really big problem with. I just don't understand
- 8:48Speaker 4: why sororities don't give legacies a chance to even get
- 8:52Speaker 4: to know you, and they cut you before they even
- 8:55Speaker 4: meet you.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:56Speaker 2: I think that's kind of bullshit too.
- 8:57Speaker 5: I yeah, it doesn't make any sense to me.
- 9:15Speaker 3: So this is apparently a thing as well. So you
- 9:19Speaker 3: have to do certain things if you're going to rush
- 9:20Speaker 3: an SEC school, right, and you have to like do
- 9:23Speaker 3: them now, right, So you have to submit letters of
- 9:26Speaker 3: recommendation by May. First, polish your social resume, heavily, prep
- 9:30Speaker 3: script your P and M video, clean up your socials.
- 9:33Speaker 3: I mean, is SEC such a different thing.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Than other schools.
- 9:37Speaker 3: I mean, I feel like you don't most schools want
- 9:39Speaker 3: that at this point, or most aurorities.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Yeah, because SEC, like, yeah, it lets you.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Like have your parties, everything's ran by them.
- 9:50Speaker 4: Yeah, But I think that it's it's just a lot
- 9:52Speaker 4: more competitive, the whole rush process. I feel like because
- 9:56Speaker 4: of social media, you know, like or and you know,
- 9:58Speaker 4: especially tiktoks and know there are sororities that have gotten
- 10:02Speaker 4: famous off of right all those rights they put on
- 10:06Speaker 4: you know.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Like I get sucked those I me too. It's so embarrassing,
- 10:12Speaker 3: even like when Daisy went to go visit. So like
- 10:14Speaker 3: you watch one and then you watch a million. But
- 10:16Speaker 3: I'm watching these nineteen twenty twenty one year old girls
- 10:19Speaker 3: dance from their sorority house.
- 10:20Speaker 2: So like, Jennifer, get a life. Why am I watching
- 10:24Speaker 2: one after the other?
- 10:25Speaker 3: Of what am I doing?
- 10:27Speaker 2: Exactly?
- 10:29Speaker 5: It's nuts, it is, it's crazy.
- 10:32Speaker 4: And they have to like perform, you know, to like
- 10:35Speaker 4: bring girls in, Like they want the best of the best,
- 10:38Speaker 4: so they need to actually show, you know that they
- 10:41Speaker 4: are the best of the best. It's just so competitive
- 10:44Speaker 4: in the Southern schools. And I think actually that's part
- 10:48Speaker 4: of why these Southern schools are so popular because they
- 10:52Speaker 4: have put out this you know, these huge platforms on
- 10:54Speaker 4: TikTok and Instagram. Right, people are drawn in, even people
- 10:58Speaker 4: like you and me who are not rushing anytime.
- 11:00Speaker 5: Soon joke, right, I know, it's crazy.
- 11:03Speaker 2: It's crazy. Yeah.
- 11:06Speaker 3: At sorority rush coach talks about ways that what people
- 11:10Speaker 3: like you now just to can support your daughter going
- 11:12Speaker 3: through rush, not this fall for your girl, but next fall. Right,
- 11:16Speaker 3: you have to be her recruitment secretary and track down
- 11:20Speaker 3: the alumni, help plan outfits, practice conversations, be there twenty
- 11:23Speaker 3: four to seven. I should be there twenty four to
- 11:26Speaker 3: seven to my daughter. For God, you are out of luck.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely not. I'm sorry. They also need to like
- 11:34Speaker 1: spread their wings and do it on.
- 11:35Speaker 3: The hell out of here, connected with resources like a
- 11:38Speaker 3: rush coach. This is not how again, this is not
- 11:41Speaker 3: how we roll here in the Fessler household. But but
- 11:44Speaker 3: I guess maybe it's good advice for people to go
- 11:46Speaker 3: going to SEC schools or Southern schools. Yeah, I'm gonna
- 11:49Speaker 3: be my daughter's secretary. She's my fucking secretary. Yeah, her secretary. Yeah,
- 11:55Speaker 3: I am a parent secretary.
- 11:58Speaker 4: Oh man, I mean, and I will say I probably
- 12:02Speaker 4: will do all the things. I'll be your secretary because
- 12:05Speaker 4: I am actually so sad that my kids are going
- 12:08Speaker 4: to be leaving and I'm going to be an empty nester.
- 12:10Speaker 4: So I am going to extend that as long as possible,
- 12:13Speaker 4: and I will be there, Blakeslee, I will be there
- 12:15Speaker 4: for you twenty four to seven.
- 12:16Speaker 5: You just call me at two in the morning.
- 12:18Speaker 3: I am not surprised. I am not surprised to hear this.
- 12:23Speaker 3: I'm not even a little bit.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Okay, I feel like you're saying it though, because you're
- 12:27Speaker 1: about to be an empty nester, so you want to
- 12:31Speaker 1: cherish every last moment. I do, Like, I mean, I
- 12:34Speaker 1: totally get that.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I get my mom.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Yeah, no, like right now, Audriana, she's sixteen, so she's
- 12:42Speaker 1: about to get her license.
- 12:43Speaker 5: Which is like second eg.
- 12:45Speaker 1: But my mom is like her does everything for her.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Audreanna says, Boo, my mom drops everything, and she's like yeah,
- 12:54Speaker 1: but I want to, like, this is my last time
- 12:57Speaker 1: driving her around.
- 12:58Speaker 2: And it's got you know when you drive your kids
- 13:01Speaker 2: to school.
- 13:01Speaker 1: And I understand what she's saying, that's like your time
- 13:04Speaker 1: to bond and talk and ketojia.
- 13:07Speaker 3: But by the way, it's because you had such a special, wonderful,
- 13:09Speaker 3: devoted mother.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Just so you are such a special, devoted, wonderful mother.
- 13:13Speaker 3: Not so much, Okay, I got news for you.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Empty nesting is the greatest. I'm sorry. I don't mean to.
- 13:21Speaker 2: I know that's not what you may believe or think.
- 13:23Speaker 3: You want to hear empty nesting is a gift. And
- 13:25Speaker 3: by the way, they come back all the time. Anyway,
- 13:28Speaker 3: I can't get rid of I got one upstairs right now.
- 13:30Speaker 3: She's twenty three.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Okay, No, I hope. I mean, I don't know I was.
- 13:36Speaker 2: I'm just not. You had a better mother, Gia, and
- 13:39Speaker 2: you are knowing you're.
- 13:43Speaker 5: No stop that anyway, you're a great mom.
- 13:46Speaker 1: But going back to that sec thing, I do think
- 13:49Speaker 1: the Southern schools by far put more pressure. So you know,
- 13:53Speaker 1: trusting your daughter is you know, she's thinking about going
- 13:56Speaker 1: to Obama right or she is going to bad Oh.
- 13:59Speaker 4: No, that's my my friend. Yes, no, no, no, yeah no,
- 14:03Speaker 4: she's probably gonna end to me California.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Oh okay.
- 14:06Speaker 4: And and I don't think that the rush the Greek,
- 14:10Speaker 4: the Greek system where she'll be is as nearly as intense.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Yes, okay, okay, awesome.
- 14:18Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, my friend who's going to Bama,
- 14:23Speaker 4: and she probably is already in a sorty even though
- 14:27Speaker 4: she's not, because she's made all these connections. She's you know,
- 14:30Speaker 4: had lunch, she is friends with these girls. Now, I
- 14:35Speaker 4: don't know, it's just it's just crazy that it happens
- 14:39Speaker 4: so early.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Just so early.
- 14:42Speaker 4: Why can't they get through high school and then worry
- 14:45Speaker 4: about this stuff when they get to college or at
- 14:48Speaker 4: least after they graduate, like the day after they graduate, fine,
- 14:52Speaker 4: but during their high school year it is just insane
- 14:56Speaker 4: to me that they have to agree about that. And
- 14:58Speaker 4: and honestly, now that we're talking, I'm like, gosh, if
- 15:01Speaker 4: if Blakesley is going to rush, maybe we should start
- 15:05Speaker 4: thinking about stuff now that.
- 15:09Speaker 3: I know.
- 15:10Speaker 5: Still it's making nervous. Well, I mean, but you also.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Have a friend who has a business, so she'll cut
- 15:17Speaker 2: you a deal.
- 15:18Speaker 5: I'm sure, I hope. So you better help me out.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Ask her, have the conversation with her. If she really
- 15:24Speaker 1: feels like she needs that, and if you feel like
- 15:27Speaker 1: she needs that as a mom, then okay, but I'm
- 15:31Speaker 1: telling you I really don't think it is fully necessary.
- 15:50Speaker 3: But the other piece, g you remember because you just
- 15:53Speaker 3: did it a few years ago. But like the pressure
- 15:55Speaker 3: of senior year, there's so much I remember senior year
- 15:58Speaker 3: just the prom dress alone, right, that is a twenty
- 16:01Speaker 3: four hour Oh, I guess we already.
- 16:04Speaker 4: So she's got prom in like two weeks, and of
- 16:07Speaker 4: course all of the dresses that they want to order
- 16:09Speaker 4: now are all on TikTok, right, Okay, so these are
- 16:12Speaker 4: the only dresses that girls want to order.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Now, that's so crazy, right, you.
- 16:18Speaker 5: Don't go to a store.
- 16:19Speaker 4: I'm like, we live in Denver, Colorado. We don't live
- 16:22Speaker 4: in Vail anymore. Like we can go to plenty of
- 16:25Speaker 4: stores and look at dresses. And she's like, no, Mom,
- 16:28Speaker 4: that's not how you do it. You have to like, look,
- 16:30Speaker 4: you have to find the dress or whatever. And then
- 16:33Speaker 4: as a mom, you have to make sure that these
- 16:35Speaker 4: websites are actually legit. You know that they're not like
- 16:39Speaker 4: scamming you out of your money. So we bought this
- 16:42Speaker 4: dress and I think it came from overseas, of course,
- 16:45Speaker 4: and then we get it and it doesn't fit, so
- 16:48Speaker 4: I have to return it and I think I returned
- 16:50Speaker 4: it to Kazakhstan or something that crazy. Yeah, it probably
- 16:55Speaker 4: costs you more than the dress to return it, right, right,
- 16:58Speaker 4: we did just find one, but oh my gosh, it
- 17:00Speaker 4: isn't How about like you have to do the bed, right,
- 17:02Speaker 4: you do the freaking in that. Nobody just a hell
- 17:08Speaker 4: out of here with this.
- 17:09Speaker 5: No, I love one of my friends did that? Yeah
- 17:13Speaker 5: you did? Oh I'm not gonna.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Yeah, of course, I mean all of this stuff you do, right,
- 17:18Speaker 3: So I'm just hoping that that well, I really don't
- 17:20Speaker 3: care now because I'm out of it. But like for
- 17:22Speaker 3: someone like Chris that you have to like hire a
- 17:24Speaker 3: five thousand dollars coach, maybe it's the maybe that is
- 17:28Speaker 3: the way to go. I don't know, gosh, anyway, I
- 17:32Speaker 3: don't know.
- 17:32Speaker 4: I just yeah, I mean, I'd rather that five thousand
- 17:35Speaker 4: dollars go towards something else, like a trip that we
- 17:38Speaker 4: make memories at, you know, or something like.
- 17:40Speaker 2: That, or a bracelet for me. Oh yeah, it's bracelet
- 17:45Speaker 2: for me anyway. All right, So what about? There are
- 17:54Speaker 2: apparently P.
- 17:55Speaker 3: And M video tips that will help you to stand out,
- 17:57Speaker 3: and if you go to at Sorority Rush Coach you
- 18:00Speaker 3: can find them. But it says be specific, tell your story,
- 18:04Speaker 3: check your lighting practice, show your unique non app academic traits.
- 18:09Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, okay, I understand that. I think
- 18:13Speaker 1: recording yourself is a lot more intimidating than just having
- 18:19Speaker 1: that like person to person connection and in person connection.
- 18:23Speaker 1: I think recording yourself can be intimidating and you're trying
- 18:27Speaker 1: to be engaging and peak somebody's interest through a video
- 18:32Speaker 1: I think that's definitely a little challenging. I do agree
- 18:35Speaker 1: with the good lighting. You know, get one of those
- 18:37Speaker 1: ring lights that you see all over TikTok and on Amazon.
- 18:41Speaker 1: And then yeah, you have to tell your story. I mean, obviously,
- 18:44Speaker 1: don't go through your whole academic portfolio and be boring,
- 18:47Speaker 1: because then that's a snooze fest. But I would talk about,
- 18:50Speaker 1: you know, if you were on the cheer team and
- 18:52Speaker 1: what you enjoyed most, and if you were in sports
- 18:56Speaker 1: or how involved you were, and you know, maybe tell
- 18:59Speaker 1: a funny story. I think that is my best advice.
- 19:04Speaker 1: But I do understand how it can be a little
- 19:06Speaker 1: awkward just trying to, you know, show somebody your personality
- 19:11Speaker 1: through a video. I think in person connection is a
- 19:13Speaker 1: lot better.
- 19:14Speaker 5: Yeah did you do a video?
- 19:16Speaker 2: Gia?
- 19:16Speaker 1: No?
- 19:18Speaker 4: I so I'm is this a thing like that everyone does?
- 19:21Speaker 4: Because I have not even I didn't even know what
- 19:23Speaker 4: this was until rite just this Rachel.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Oh did she Okay?
- 19:27Speaker 1: I didn't?
- 19:28Speaker 2: I believe she did.
- 19:29Speaker 3: I remember, well, she also was different things she rushed
- 19:31Speaker 3: during COVID.
- 19:32Speaker 1: But that's probably why I definitely.
- 19:34Speaker 3: How to put something together. Yeah, that's definitely right, right,
- 19:38Speaker 3: so different, but.
- 19:39Speaker 4: I wonder if that's what started it, you know, because
- 19:42Speaker 4: they had a videos or could have.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Maybe narrowed down like around or something or some I
- 19:49Speaker 1: don't know.
- 19:51Speaker 3: We went through it about a million times, that video,
- 19:53Speaker 3: so I have to admit, I.
- 19:55Speaker 4: Mean, honestly, that would be like the pressure situation is
- 19:59Speaker 4: coming up with a video where you're not going to
- 20:02Speaker 4: be cringey and you're going to be you know, come
- 20:05Speaker 4: across as somebody who they want to have in their
- 20:08Speaker 4: sorority and coming up with something super unique. It's kind
- 20:11Speaker 4: of like the videos that like, you guys didn't but
- 20:16Speaker 4: didn't have to do this, But when I applied to
- 20:19Speaker 4: be on The Bachelor, you know, like coming up with
- 20:22Speaker 4: a video that these people send in they submit to
- 20:25Speaker 4: be on reality shows, it's like coming up with something
- 20:28Speaker 4: like that that you show who you are, you showcase
- 20:31Speaker 4: your personality in a unique and fun way. But gosh,
- 20:36Speaker 4: the pressure for that too. But you're right, Lighting is
- 20:38Speaker 4: a girl's best friend. I always say that, So make
- 20:42Speaker 4: sure that you have really good lighting and a great story.
- 20:45Speaker 2: I agree, all right, ladies.
- 20:48Speaker 3: So lastly, things that get you drop from sorority recruitment
- 20:54Speaker 3: bad talking of any of the houses, being mean, to
- 20:56Speaker 3: any of the girls during rush hallelujah.
- 20:58Speaker 2: I like that one talking about the bee.
- 21:00Speaker 3: I'm thinking that means boys, gaze boys boys.
- 21:04Speaker 1: If you are going out and drinking during rush, that
- 21:08Speaker 1: is a big no no. Basically during your entire rush process.
- 21:12Speaker 1: You it's called dry rush, like that's.
- 21:14Speaker 5: What you're doing.
- 21:16Speaker 1: You are not going out, You're rushing in the sorority.
- 21:18Speaker 1: And if that's what you want to do, that's what
- 21:20Speaker 1: you want to do. I wouldn't fool around with any
- 21:23Speaker 1: boys that you don't know, because odds are they're probably
- 21:26Speaker 1: talking to one of your potential sorority sisters. So I
- 21:31Speaker 1: would just not do anything until after you're in the sorority.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Or you cannot do anything period, which is what I
- 21:38Speaker 3: told my daughter before.
- 21:39Speaker 2: She was right, don't do don't drink, don't you try
- 21:42Speaker 2: to and no boys and that one over that one
- 21:44Speaker 2: over big yes, Oh, I'm for sure.
- 21:47Speaker 5: I'm sure for sure sure her.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Oh yeah, she always does whatever I say, gospel for sure.
- 21:57Speaker 3: I mean I think those are probably good. Those are
- 21:59Speaker 3: I don't I have no album with.
- 22:00Speaker 2: That, right.
- 22:01Speaker 4: Yeah's your life in general, just just whatever you would do,
- 22:06Speaker 4: Like if you're going to do something where I'm standing
- 22:08Speaker 4: right next to you, and you think that I'm going
- 22:10Speaker 4: to be judging you.
- 22:11Speaker 5: That's what the girls are doing. So just assume.
- 22:14Speaker 1: That is the best advice ever. Assume your mom is
- 22:18Speaker 1: standing right next to you. Yes, don't do anything of
- 22:22Speaker 1: that sort during Rush.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Rachel, you hear that, Yeah, I'd never listen to me.
- 22:29Speaker 3: It's working anyway, all right, ladies, so listen. That's it
- 22:34Speaker 3: for this episode of Dirty Rush. I loved this episode.
- 22:37Speaker 3: I loved the three of us together that. Yeah, this
- 22:41Speaker 3: is a very natural threesome I feel.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Like and wishing you the best of luck with Blakesley.
- 22:47Speaker 5: Blakesley, Yeah, max Is.
- 22:48Speaker 4: Max is actually going to He's a senior, so he's
- 22:52Speaker 4: graduating in about a month, and so we're trying to
- 22:56Speaker 4: figure out what he's going to do. I don't think
- 22:58Speaker 4: he's going to be rushing, and fraternity Rush is a
- 23:01Speaker 4: whole different thing. That's a whole different podcast.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes, I.
- 23:06Speaker 4: Will definitely be listening to the podcast if I don't
- 23:09Speaker 4: come back, and these come back all the tips for
- 23:11Speaker 4: wyn Blakesley wants to rush because honestly, the Rush experience
- 23:16Speaker 4: and the Greek life experience was the most special part
- 23:20Speaker 4: of my college experience, like still right, I still talk
- 23:25Speaker 4: to my ya right, you still get together, We still
- 23:29Speaker 4: text each other. We're on a big group text thread
- 23:32Speaker 4: and they are some of the most important people in
- 23:35Speaker 4: my life. So I would love for my daughter to
- 23:38Speaker 4: experience it too. It will depend on the college that
- 23:41Speaker 4: she goes to, but you know, I think for all
- 23:43Speaker 4: of us, it's just it was a special experience, and
- 23:46Speaker 4: that's why we're talking about it.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Yes, exactly, exactly.
- 23:51Speaker 5: And everyone to experience what we did.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Yes.
