  SPEAKER_01: Right, lads, straight in.
• 0:02
SPEAKER_01: I want to pick on s pick up on something off last week which didn't get the attention it deserved.
• 0:07
  SPEAKER_01: Go on.
• 0:08
SPEAKER_01: Skip three out of ten in the news of the world on a Sunday at nil-nil.
• 0:12
SPEAKER_01: Because when I looked at it, didn't even play that bad, you know.
• 0:15
SPEAKER_01: When I look back, that's usually threes when you're getting beat four or five-nil.
• 0:18
SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's like an on-go, a red card, correct?
• 0:21
SPEAKER_00: And like fighting me a fan the way off or something, isn't it?
• 0:23
  SPEAKER_00: I thought I was alright.
• 0:25
  SPEAKER_02: Like I drove home.
• 0:25
  SPEAKER_02: I thought.
• 0:26
SPEAKER_02: Did Charlie think you were okay on the cloud?
• 0:28
SPEAKER_02: My dad he saw bad game, but he didn't like didn't play that bad.
• 0:32
SPEAKER_02: But I got a three, and the next lowest mark was like a five.
• 0:36
  SPEAKER_02: So I don't know.
• 0:37
SPEAKER_02: Someone delegates in the crowd, or I don't know.
• 0:38
  SPEAKER_02: What was your XG?
• 0:40
SPEAKER_01: Maybe that was oh my god.
• 0:42
SPEAKER_01: Coleman's gonna come on soon.
• 0:43
SPEAKER_01: John Coleman, the News and Star Reporter, he's like award-winning writer, isn't he?
• 0:47
SPEAKER_01: When he does a match report, it's some it else, isn't it?
• 0:50
  SPEAKER_01: His articles are brilliant.
• 0:52
SPEAKER_01: But he's he's used to when we're in the car together, they used to start on a six.
• 0:56
SPEAKER_01: So if they scored, you'd get a seven.
• 0:58
SPEAKER_01: Um if they own gold, you got five and a six or something.
• 1:02
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, something like he was he wasn't didn't give out nines all the time, but he gave out the threes and twos, which I talk about, but I let him tell you.
• 1:09
SPEAKER_01: But there's some big hitters over the years who went on to play a Premier League, have been twos and threes, and like when they had the first loan here at Carlisle, Liam Cooper was one of them.
• 1:17
SPEAKER_00: I'd like to ask him when he comes on about people getting touched in that way.
• 1:22
  SPEAKER_00: Oh the body, yeah.
• 1:23
SPEAKER_00: Because as much as like we all pretend that it doesn't bolly, see if somebody sends you, or you like back in the day, if you used to read it in the paper and you get like a five and you're thinking I'll hit that, I'm fuming.
• 1:35
SPEAKER_00: I'll walk past them in a hotel lobbying cavern.
• 1:38
SPEAKER_01: But we'll yeah, we'll have that soon.
• 1:40
SPEAKER_01: We've got a few guests coming on after the success of Tales of a Kit Man, uh, which was excellent.
• 1:45
SPEAKER_01: We'll just speak about that, but yeah, Bush was class, wasn't he?
• 1:48
SPEAKER_01: I was just about to say, Charlie, did he was he on your case on the way home?
• 1:51
SPEAKER_01: Was your dad ever on your case on the way home after a game?
• 1:54
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, he was it could be quite hard on us sometimes.
• 1:57
SPEAKER_02: Um sometimes I deserved it, I think.
• 1:59
SPEAKER_02: But I was it was the silence that got me.
• 2:02
SPEAKER_02: Sometimes he just wouldn't speak.
• 2:04
  SPEAKER_02: I'm thinking I'll I'm not angry, I'm disappointed.
• 2:06
SPEAKER_02: Well, we've been in the car an hour, I'm like, oh yeah, someone man.
• 2:08
SPEAKER_01: That's the uh that's the one I was gonna say.
• 2:11
SPEAKER_01: I used to look a bit off time, he'd give us a clap if I was doing alright.
• 2:14
SPEAKER_01: If he's sat, I was like, right, I bet a book of ideas.
• 2:15
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, a book of ideas.
• 2:16
SPEAKER_01: But as you're saying, I'd I'd rather take a kick in which I've had off my mum, rather than I'm disappointed, like that's a silence, just disappointing.
• 2:24
  SPEAKER_00: Uh what's he thinking?
• 2:26
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, my dad my dad, his thing was always like he couldn't kick the ball if he tried, like, so he's like, How am I gonna tell you how to play?
• 2:32
SPEAKER_00: Oh, did he not play?
• 2:33
SPEAKER_00: No, he never played, so he was more like again, if I never like ran or see if I let like a bad tackle and I never like get back up and like gave a bit back or whatever it was, but it didn't happen a lot because I was like getting stuck in.
• 2:47
SPEAKER_00: But things like that he would cop now like being being aggressive or that kind of that was more things he would get annoyed about.
• 2:53
SPEAKER_00: But like football stuff, he was like, I'll leave that up to the people actually knowing.
• 2:57
  SPEAKER_00: What was Charlie like?
• 2:58
SPEAKER_01: He was just a hard man, wasn't he?
• 3:00
SPEAKER_02: He was he was a good player to be fair.
• 3:01
SPEAKER_02: Um, all his his mates, and that tells us how good he was.
• 3:04
SPEAKER_02: But I was just an angry guy.
• 3:06
SPEAKER_01: When I signed for Carlisle, I walked out and we'd just beaten someone five and then I think I got mad of the match.
• 3:10
SPEAKER_01: Andrew Jenkins, rest in peace.
• 3:12
SPEAKER_01: Andrew, the chairman of Carlisle came towards me and I went, Yeah, we go.
• 3:16
SPEAKER_01: And he went, the best non-league football I've seen going used with my dad.
• 3:21
SPEAKER_01: Um, but my dad was in the castle, scored two hat ricks in the reserves in two weeks.
• 3:25
SPEAKER_01: Did he went into the manager and said, Listen, players are them off.
• 3:28
SPEAKER_01: Manager went, off you go.
• 3:29
  SPEAKER_01: Did he?
• 3:36
SPEAKER_01: He was an apprentice when they won the first cup.
• 3:39
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, really?
• 3:39
SPEAKER_01: And when they beat Rangers at Ibrox, and he said he was on the like one of the buses and they were just getting stones and all that.
• 3:44
  SPEAKER_00: What team?
• 3:45
  SPEAKER_01: Newcastle.
• 3:46
  SPEAKER_01: Oh was it?
• 3:47
SPEAKER_00: Why did they play Rangers for?
• 3:48
  SPEAKER_00: On Pop's boots.
• 3:49
  SPEAKER_00: Was he?
• 3:49
SPEAKER_00: So wouldn't why did they play Rangers?
• 3:51
SPEAKER_01: What got the Cup, yeah, the First Cup, which was the European like the Europa.
• 3:55
SPEAKER_01: Oh, we won it back 69.
• 3:58
  SPEAKER_01: So we thought we'd been 19.
• 4:00
  SPEAKER_01: Wow, class.
• 4:01
SPEAKER_01: All right, right, bus head reaction.
• 4:03
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, brilliant.
• 4:04
SPEAKER_01: The Peller got a lot.
• 4:05
SPEAKER_01: Aye, that is funny though, isn't it?
• 4:07
SPEAKER_01: To be fair to him, who was it?
• 4:10
  SPEAKER_01: Me, Kevin Kevin Gaul.
• 4:13
SPEAKER_01: Um I started it, and then next thing he'd come in, Platini would be on.
• 4:19
SPEAKER_01: You can just imagine his reaction, though, can't you?
• 4:21
SPEAKER_01: Especially when his head's gone.
• 4:22
SPEAKER_01: But Neil MacDonald got us all in.
• 4:23
SPEAKER_01: Busheads obviously went up in grass.
• 4:25
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 4:26
SPEAKER_01: And he's went, the lads are saying the balls and all that.
• 4:29
SPEAKER_01: And then my teeth are shit.
• 4:32
SPEAKER_01: And um, Neil MacDonald's got us in.
• 4:34
SPEAKER_01: He's tried to be really serious.
• 4:35
  SPEAKER_01: He's went, listen, right.
• 4:36
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 4:36
SPEAKER_01: They went, When you have scored a thousand goals in world football, you can write Pele on the balls, but we've all just started laughing, and he's just went, Oh, piss off with you.
• 4:44
SPEAKER_01: So I uh I've watched your reaction back when you take Scott Doby off on a heart drink.
• 4:50
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's tremendous.
• 4:52
  SPEAKER_01: It's unbelievable.
• 4:54
SPEAKER_00: No, that is, I could just imagine Simmo as well.
• 4:56
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like nicest guy in the world, but like when he's angry, he's angry.
• 4:58
SPEAKER_00: And I can you change it though?
• 5:00
SPEAKER_00: What's a ball because no, no, no.
• 5:01
SPEAKER_01: I I I've not seen Dobbs for years, right?
• 5:04
SPEAKER_01: And I need to see him.
• 5:05
SPEAKER_01: I hope he's at this Tony Hopper thing.
• 5:07
SPEAKER_02: I think he will be, yeah.
• 5:08
SPEAKER_01: I seen him in the I hadn't seen him for years, and I seen him outside uh Tesco about a few years ago, and he just started laughing.
• 5:14
  SPEAKER_01: I went, What's the matter?
• 5:15
SPEAKER_01: I mean, you don't look any different.
• 5:16
SPEAKER_01: I was in me tracking that I used to wear, and he's just dissing himself, but Dobbs are great play.
• 5:21
SPEAKER_01: It was on match of the day, the start, wasn't he?
• 5:23
SPEAKER_01: He scored a worldly West Brom at Tottenham Hotspur, like a volley.
• 5:27
SPEAKER_00: So the start of match of the day.
• 5:29
SPEAKER_00: I'd love to see his highlight reel as well.
• 5:30
SPEAKER_01: Like his career was some built, doesn't it?
• 5:33
  SPEAKER_01: Strong, it was cool.
• 5:34
SPEAKER_01: And for someone laid back before the big games, you know, you have a huddle to get involved again.
• 5:39
  SPEAKER_01: You go, fucking hell.
• 5:40
SPEAKER_00: He didn't play like that though, as well.
• 5:42
SPEAKER_00: Like as you said, he he looked like confident and relaxed and could like could score for anywhere.
• 5:47
SPEAKER_00: Like, do you know what I mean?
• 5:48
SPEAKER_01: We'll have to get we'll have to get busted back here.
• 5:50
  SPEAKER_01: What you're gonna say?
• 5:51
SPEAKER_02: I was just saying, like that sort of age group.
• 5:53
  SPEAKER_02: I seen a picture last week.
• 5:54
SPEAKER_02: Some amount of players come out of Carlisle, yeah.
• 5:56
SPEAKER_02: Delap Delap, Jansen, you forget how many forget how many games Procast played.
• 6:01
SPEAKER_02: Pro Kulmury, Tony, Graham Anthony.
• 6:04
SPEAKER_02: Some lot of talent come.
• 6:06
SPEAKER_00: I feel every player that gets brought up has played fucking at some point.
• 6:10
SPEAKER_01: I like honestly, like unless I beat her on the bus.
• 6:13
  SPEAKER_01: It's been some shite.
• 6:14
  SPEAKER_01: Aye.
• 6:15
SPEAKER_01: Well, I played against people in number 35.
• 6:17
SPEAKER_01: They said in someone's wendy he's played a few games.
• 6:19
  SPEAKER_01: So Carl L.
• 6:20
  SPEAKER_01: I went, eh.
• 6:21
  SPEAKER_01: What use team?
• 6:22
  SPEAKER_01: Point at me.
• 6:24
SPEAKER_01: What in the new one?
• 6:26
SPEAKER_01: I won't name it, one of our worst ever players at Sunland, the apprentice.
• 6:30
SPEAKER_01: When we're apprentices, got released.
• 6:31
SPEAKER_01: I went, right, he's from down somewhere.
• 6:35
  SPEAKER_01: He'll be in non-league.
• 6:36
SPEAKER_01: And next thing I've gone and watched Hartley Pool play Carl L there, is it right back?
• 6:40
SPEAKER_01: So he's made his debut like before me.
• 6:42
SPEAKER_01: And I thought, well I'm like, how is this even happening?
• 6:44
SPEAKER_00: That's probably why a big Roddy Collins in it and phoned you and just now just thought naturally you're going to come to Colleo, just thought, we'll burn that up.
• 6:50
SPEAKER_00: I'll let you know you're not coming out.
• 6:52
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we've had a message, a couple of messages on the bushead.
• 6:54
SPEAKER_01: This is from Dean Rhea or Rhea R A.
• 6:57
SPEAKER_01: So Ria, sorry, I've got it wrong.
• 7:00
SPEAKER_01: So a story with Busshead and myself.
• 7:03
SPEAKER_01: I went through the academy sides with his boy Ashley, I remember.
• 7:06
SPEAKER_01: Ashley was in the academy, and there was rumour he was getting uh released, and the bushead's head had gone that day.
• 7:13
SPEAKER_01: And we got invited over to Ireland to play a few teams over there pre-season.
• 7:17
SPEAKER_01: We turned up at Brunton Park to get on the bus, and it was the first team coach with Busshead driving.
• 7:22
SPEAKER_01: We thought we were big time as fuck, using the kitchen on the bus and playing cards on the back.
• 7:27
SPEAKER_01: I think we were about 13 or 14 at the time.
• 7:30
SPEAKER_01: We got over to Ireland and played four games over the weekend.
• 7:33
SPEAKER_01: I think we got our pants pulled down every game.
• 7:36
SPEAKER_01: Don't even think we scored a goal.
• 7:37
SPEAKER_01: One night we were all playing cards in the room, gambling for a couple of pounds, and the hotel phone rang.
• 7:44
SPEAKER_01: Busshead had set us up, getting the hotel staff to ring and say the police were coming to the room for underage gambling.
• 7:51
SPEAKER_01: We were hiding under our beds and all sorts.
• 7:54
SPEAKER_01: Buss Ed took another wrong turn after one of the matches, shock, and nearly got us all filled in on a dark alley.
• 8:00
SPEAKER_01: We had gone into an estate and the bus was being hit and pegged with stones.
• 8:04
SPEAKER_01: He also took us to the Greyhounds while we were over there.
• 8:07
SPEAKER_01: Had another couple of certs aha, couldn't pick his nose, but what a top blow.
• 8:11
  SPEAKER_01: So that was quality.
• 8:16
SPEAKER_01: Them dog stories I got involved.
• 8:18
SPEAKER_01: Like turned and so when it went up and turned, it just seen this, it turned us around in the trap, and you just seen this this tail.
• 8:24
SPEAKER_01: That sick was me, that one.
• 8:26
SPEAKER_01: And then the other one, as you see, had a trial hour to get on, seen the hand, had a heart attack on the first corner.
• 8:31
SPEAKER_02: I got a message last week off uh one of the YTs who was there, you know, the John Toshak, where they're all um he said every single YT was on it, they're even borrowing money off like mates and parents and that.
• 8:42
SPEAKER_02: So they're all getting in the little cars, flying up on a growing to the bookies.
• 8:46
SPEAKER_01: So John Courtney, the ex-chairman as well.
• 8:50
SPEAKER_01: Um, he was in charge of Umbro, so that's how he got the island, but sponsored by Umbro, and he got told John Toshak was taking it.
• 8:57
SPEAKER_01: So he let it go and both said told everyone on the ground and then just lumped on, and then John Toshak got announced as manager of somewhere in Spain or it'll submit.
• 9:05
SPEAKER_01: Another one linked question from Mark Bowen.
• 9:08
SPEAKER_01: Hi, lads, and hi skip.
• 9:10
SPEAKER_01: Great to hear the news about your dad recently.
• 9:12
SPEAKER_01: Keep up the great work, work boys.
• 9:14
SPEAKER_01: Can't fault the can't fault the effort you are putting in.
• 9:17
  SPEAKER_01: Fair play, thank you.
• 9:19
SPEAKER_01: Who at all the clubs you've played for is an unsung hero, the one standout person that doesn't get the recognition they deserve, be it the kit man, coach driver, physio, or whoever you feel deserves a mention.
• 9:31
SPEAKER_01: I'm not going to mention Busshead because we weird him massively in at Christmas and um at the end, so he wasn't unsung, he got weighed in.
• 9:38
SPEAKER_02: He got weird in well there's a couple for me, like obviously when I was a young young kid, there was Steve Harper at Newcastle.
• 9:46
SPEAKER_02: He was just like second choice forever.
• 9:48
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 9:49
SPEAKER_02: On good money, but and and a brilliant keeper, by the way.
• 9:52
SPEAKER_02: But he was just always behind share giving.
• 9:54
SPEAKER_02: Um and when he filled in, he was class, but he was never I think he knew his role, do you know what I mean?
• 9:59
SPEAKER_02: He knew he was going to play cup games and stuff like that.
• 10:01
SPEAKER_02: He was always dead bubbly and like part of like the crack and all that.
• 10:05
SPEAKER_02: And he was just amazing to have around.
• 10:07
SPEAKER_02: And another one for me was a physio, um, Barrow Liam Enright.
• 10:11
SPEAKER_02: He was just good crack, you know what I mean?
• 10:14
SPEAKER_02: He was always another one just dead bubbly, and if if lads were down, he would get them get them going again.
• 10:19
SPEAKER_02: How old was he at that time?
• 10:20
SPEAKER_02: He'll be about ten years older than me.
• 10:22
  SPEAKER_02: So he was older.
• 10:23
SPEAKER_02: Aye, so he's he was a bit a little bit older.
• 10:25
SPEAKER_02: Was he a Barrow lad?
• 10:27
SPEAKER_02: No, he's from the Morecambe area, but he just loved being there, and what I mean, and all so people like that are for me invaluable because sometimes, especially when you're not when it's not going well on the pitch, you can't get down, can you, and stuff like that.
• 10:38
SPEAKER_02: So he was he was one for me.
• 10:40
  SPEAKER_02: Class.
• 10:41
SPEAKER_00: Um I think Kevin Thompson.
• 10:44
SPEAKER_02: But a lot of story behind it.
• 10:46
  SPEAKER_02: Obviously, uh it's not.
• 10:47
SPEAKER_02: One second before I carry on, right?
• 10:49
SPEAKER_02: I'd I'd sorry to interrupt, but you know when we named him, he just gazes, doesn't he?
• 10:53
SPEAKER_01: Every time I mention that's like so Kevin Thompson is Rangers, Hibbs, Rangers, Hibbs, uh Meadowsborough, I think.
• 10:59
SPEAKER_02: But we're on about like if we played against we'd say this and then he'd go, Well, Ronaldo Ramos, and we're like, right, carry on.
• 11:04
  SPEAKER_02: Sorry.
• 11:05
  SPEAKER_02: Oh no, sorry, mate.
• 11:06
SPEAKER_00: Um I'll put the but uh not almost so obviously top, top player, but there was a time when he came to Hibs.
• 11:13
SPEAKER_00: Um the season we won the the cup, the Scottish Cup, it's 10 years this year actually.
• 11:19
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um he came, obviously played with Hibbs before, went to the Rangers, moved about, had a great career, and then came back to Hibs, and he kind of found himself where me, John McGinn, Fraser Five, um a few of the other boys like midfield, like strong midfield, and he came in like an older player, but honestly he was top class.
• 11:37
SPEAKER_01: So his powers had gone a bit.
• 11:38
SPEAKER_00: So he kinda knew his role to go like midfield, like he was still good enough.
• 11:43
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 11:43
SPEAKER_00: Like he was he was unbelievable as a player, got stuck in really hard, good player.
• 11:48
SPEAKER_00: But there was a time where we were already playing and doing well and everybody was raving about us.
• 11:52
SPEAKER_00: But just the way he came in and gave us that guidance, never he never thought like now the passing of the guard, he never thought like oh he was taking it hard, he was brilliant with his always got arm round us, um especially that's why I'm talking about Tom.
• 12:05
SPEAKER_00: So the cup final run-in, I came off against Hartz, got an injury, and he came on.
• 12:10
SPEAKER_00: Well 2-0 down, he came on, changed the game, got it back to two each, got a um a replay the next week, put I put Hearts out, and then went on to win the cup.
• 12:20
SPEAKER_00: But I get back for the cup final and Tom will missed out because I'd played.
• 12:25
SPEAKER_00: So I always and I always remember like on the bus, because I was touch and goal for that cup final, as I said before, touch and goal and um Stubbs has put me in, and he was the one that was left out of the squad completely, he wasn't even on the bench.
• 12:37
SPEAKER_00: But on the bus, he was like arm round me, like, don't worry, you'll get through the game or that like and he'd literally just been left at the squad.
• 12:43
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 12:44
SPEAKER_00: So like for somebody who's die and and Hibbs is his team as well.
• 12:48
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 12:48
  SPEAKER_00: Like that's his that's his team.
• 12:49
SPEAKER_01: So I probably think if anything went everything went to plan for me, probably a Carlisle, I reckon I reckon I would have been I probably would have been there like Thur was for a long time, but at 32, 33, you know you're not gonna play, but you've still got a year, but you you're buzzing for the lads, yeah.
• 13:05
SPEAKER_01: You realise you're coming to Yeah, and yeah, I'd like to think I'm gonna be.
• 13:09
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like when you're not playing.
• 13:11
SPEAKER_00: See, when you're at an age where you're you think you should be playing every week and you're good enough and you're still chasing, yeah.
• 13:16
SPEAKER_00: That's hard to take when you're not playing.
• 13:18
SPEAKER_00: When you get to a stage where you know your role, you kinda you're comfortable, you you play here and there, but you know you've got an important role within the squad.
• 13:26
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 13:26
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, maybe your family's set up in the area and stuff, so like you're you're at a different kind of stage.
• 13:32
SPEAKER_01: The um mine is just quick too.
• 13:34
  SPEAKER_01: Chris Billy's Billy.
• 13:36
SPEAKER_01: Um so Chris Billy uh tell him was he's won nearly every promotion, hasn't he, from League 2 to League 1, League 1 to championship, scored winners in like just Kalou.
• 13:44
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but he came to Color at like 31.
• 13:47
SPEAKER_01: And probably not easy on the eye, but he was a good player, but they didn't appreciate it.
• 13:51
SPEAKER_01: But I went in midfield with him, and the graft he done for me was like out of this world.
• 13:57
SPEAKER_01: We didn't get it measured then, but if you did, his kilometers on that would have been and Simon Grand, a little bit like that.
• 14:03
SPEAKER_01: Simon Grant was a young lad and probably had a case to play.
• 14:05
SPEAKER_01: Every time he played, he scored, he was sent off and done well.
• 14:08
SPEAKER_01: Captain material still playing now.
• 14:11
SPEAKER_01: And if we scored a goal and he'd been left out, he's the first one jumping up off the bench.
• 14:15
SPEAKER_01: I remember Simo making a point of it, saying, like in the dress room going, You're a different class because your attitude.
• 14:20
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, um, he was in the car that time when Magno Vieira took the litre of petrol.
• 14:24
  SPEAKER_01: So this bust trand.
• 14:26
  SPEAKER_01: Aye, so great question.
• 14:27
SPEAKER_01: That one little nod to your dad as well.
• 14:29
  SPEAKER_01: That's nice.
• 14:30
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I went to school with Mark, good lad.
• 14:31
SPEAKER_01: Yep, so new episode of three in the middle.
• 14:35
SPEAKER_01: I'm Chris Lumsden, ex Sunderland, Barnese Carlisle, Mark Skip Boyd, ex Newcastle United Carlisle, Barrow, Accrington, Sligo, Maclesfield, Macksfield, yeah.
• 14:47
  SPEAKER_01: We just added Paulville.
• 14:48
  SPEAKER_01: We're just adding clubs.
• 14:49
  SPEAKER_01: Paulville, yeah.
• 14:50
SPEAKER_01: You could go on forever.
• 14:51
SPEAKER_01: Celtic Nation, remember that name.
• 14:53
SPEAKER_01: And Dylan McGill, who is currently playing with Bellamina United and his ex Celtic Aberdeen, Sunderland, Hibbs Cup winner, as we've heard.
• 15:02
SPEAKER_01: Forrest Green, you had a good result for me, Coupon yesterday.
• 15:05
  SPEAKER_01: That was good.
• 15:06
SPEAKER_01: And Scottish International still could go at the World Cup.
• 15:08
SPEAKER_02: Just quick one, is your rhyming online clubs off?
• 15:11
SPEAKER_02: So I was at Gretna and Macclesfield, wasn't I?
• 15:13
SPEAKER_02: And I went from Gretna to Macklesfield on loan, and I got paid off both, and I never said anything.
• 15:17
  SPEAKER_02: Great.
• 15:18
SPEAKER_02: So I got paid weekly off Gretna and monthly off Gretchen.
• 15:21
SPEAKER_02: So I thought, I'll leave this for a bit, and it went on for three or four months.
• 15:25
SPEAKER_02: I thought, I'm not saying fuck home, man.
• 15:27
SPEAKER_02: And it's well, I still haven't come back on.
• 15:29
SPEAKER_01: When I went and loaned at Blackpool, uh Peter Reed went, They fucked up your wages, they'll put you on more, so just have it.
• 15:34
SPEAKER_01: And I went, he went, When you get back, you'll we'll we'll put you on more as well.
• 15:37
SPEAKER_01: It's like nice enough, mate.
• 15:40
SPEAKER_01: And a big thank you to Brendan Laverick of BL Removals.
• 15:43
  SPEAKER_01: Great lad, Brendan.
• 15:44
SPEAKER_01: Young lad set up his own removal company.
• 15:47
SPEAKER_01: Um making moving easy and taking the stress out of moving homes, offices, and it's a local family business.
• 15:53
SPEAKER_01: So make sure you get on Insta and Facebook, BL Removals.
• 15:57
SPEAKER_01: And I always get jealous of Brendan every morning.
• 15:59
  SPEAKER_01: Do you know why?
• 16:00
  SPEAKER_01: Go on, it's a power lifter, isn't he?
• 16:02
SPEAKER_01: So it's breakfast every morning, steak, eggs, tea time.
• 16:07
SPEAKER_01: He goes to the Turkish.
• 16:10
SPEAKER_01: It was I'm like, I wish I could just get that to us.
• 16:13
  SPEAKER_01: Good morning.
• 16:14
SPEAKER_01: You just need to start looking at it.
• 16:16
SPEAKER_01: But he uh he was it Carl is a younger?
• 16:19
  SPEAKER_01: Was he?
• 16:20
  SPEAKER_01: He was a keeper.
• 16:21
SPEAKER_01: Aye, Neil, the graphic to Totem as well.
• 16:23
SPEAKER_01: Good lad, aye, he's a well he's doing well with his own company.
• 16:27
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, good.
• 16:27
SPEAKER_01: Thank you very much, Brendan.
• 16:48
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 16:49
  SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
• 16:50
  SPEAKER_01: I want to debate.
• 16:51
  SPEAKER_01: Go on Regan Linney.
• 16:54
SPEAKER_01: Over 20 goals this season, 29-year-old in May, on a really good contract.
• 17:01
SPEAKER_01: It'll see he's got next year, but he'll have an option, so we'll have he'll have two years left at Carlisle at least, yeah?
• 17:07
SPEAKER_01: He's on a good wage, he's in a big club for what he's played for, and he's in a big club in a division where he which he finds easy.
• 17:14
SPEAKER_01: What would you do if you were him?
• 17:16
SPEAKER_01: Move and try and force a move, but then who to?
• 17:20
SPEAKER_01: So you do League Two if you get a new port or something.
• 17:23
  SPEAKER_01: Is there a point?
• 17:24
  SPEAKER_01: Stay put.
• 17:25
SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna have to throw my hat into the ring.
• 17:27
  SPEAKER_01: Come on then.
• 17:27
SPEAKER_01: If I'm 29 and I'm enjoying it, and this is the stage I've been set on, and I'm a hero, I'm staying put.
• 17:36
SPEAKER_02: I I'm exactly the same as you.
• 17:38
SPEAKER_02: I just think of what they think of him.
• 17:40
SPEAKER_02: What the club sort of want to achieve in the next few years, I think it's perfect for it.
• 17:44
SPEAKER_01: Even if they don't go up, he's guaranteed another 15 next year, and he's yeah.
• 17:47
  SPEAKER_02: I mean and he's loved, isn't he?
• 17:49
SPEAKER_01: Right, then so I'll turn it.
• 17:50
SPEAKER_01: What if a Barnsley or a Late in Orient's gone?
• 17:55
  SPEAKER_01: Would you go?
• 17:56
  SPEAKER_00: Nah, he's gone.
• 17:57
SPEAKER_00: I go to Barnsley, you've got to go.
• 17:58
  SPEAKER_00: I don't think I go late in Orient.
• 17:59
SPEAKER_00: You go there for say two, three years, have a go at one of the teams that might go up the leagues.
• 18:06
SPEAKER_00: And if you do well, you do well.
• 18:08
SPEAKER_00: If you don't, no disrespect.
• 18:10
SPEAKER_00: But what you've done at Carlisle, you're always going to potentially have an option to come back in a year or two time.
• 18:16
SPEAKER_00: I'm not going to Leighton Orient.
• 18:17
SPEAKER_00: No, Barnsley, if you've got Barnsley and stuff then.
• 18:20
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 18:20
SPEAKER_01: I'd go to Barnsley, Doncaster.
• 18:23
SPEAKER_01: I wouldn't go I don't think I'd go to someday in the top yeah, like the playoff places.
• 18:30
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Leighton Orange bit mid-table, isn't it?
• 18:32
SPEAKER_01: Who would you think would come in for Linny?
• 18:36
SPEAKER_01: Say Cambridge United go up this season from League Two to League One.
• 18:39
SPEAKER_01: Is he someone they might look at?
• 18:41
SPEAKER_02: So would it be from National League 2 League 1 then?
• 18:43
SPEAKER_02: You wouldn't just jump a league or who would you go to in League 2?
• 18:46
  SPEAKER_02: That's what I'm saying.
• 18:47
SPEAKER_02: Like, would it be like the question, would there be any points?
• 18:49
  SPEAKER_00: MK Dons.
• 18:52
SPEAKER_00: He's good enough to play the teams.
• 18:53
  SPEAKER_00: Like I think.
• 18:54
  SPEAKER_00: Is he no?
• 18:55
  SPEAKER_00: I think like I I I agree.
• 18:58
  SPEAKER_00: I'm just gonna.
• 18:58
SPEAKER_00: But from what I've seen, like I've not seen a lot of the games, but like when he has got the ball, he he is one of them ones that wants to make something happen.
• 19:04
SPEAKER_00: He comes inside and like enough.
• 19:05
SPEAKER_01: If we didn't have Linny this season, if we take away his goals, I would be bored, mate.
• 19:10
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so like have you put him in like so say a better team like producing better football and like getting loads of it loads of the ball, he's as good as like some of the boys that are playing at these teams.
• 19:21
  SPEAKER_01: If I'm not, I'd I'd still stay here, I didn't drunk us there.
• 19:24
  SPEAKER_00: Would you?
• 19:24
SPEAKER_02: I just think Yeah, but is that you is that you because of what you know of the place?
• 19:28
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, your experience of it.
• 19:30
SPEAKER_01: Probably probably because if you just ask a random remember, my my decision was to go to Leeds or stay here at 29.
• 19:38
SPEAKER_01: And the only reason I was gonna go to Leeds is because the contract was ridiculous, but I was gonna I was gutted.
• 19:44
SPEAKER_01: I actually didn't want them to come in.
• 19:45
SPEAKER_01: I was calm happy back went anyway.
• 19:47
SPEAKER_02: That's when you know though, don't you?
• 19:48
SPEAKER_02: Because of all you felt.
• 19:49
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, even though the money was great, you don't.
• 19:51
SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of aspects, though, like again, the travelling, like whereabouts in the the country as family situations.
• 19:58
SPEAKER_01: I don't know what he has as, but well, at 30 when I done my back, Shrewsbury and Darlington came in.
• 20:04
SPEAKER_01: Every day of the week I should have gone to Shrewsbury.
• 20:06
  SPEAKER_02: Convenience, money.
• 20:07
SPEAKER_01: Oh, because Darlington was 15 minutes down the hill.
• 20:09
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, was it right?
• 20:10
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 20:10
SPEAKER_01: I remember the Darlington were trying to get us out the door, and you know what they're like.
• 20:14
SPEAKER_01: Simon Davy and Ryan Kidd came in, ex-preston.
• 20:17
SPEAKER_01: So Ryan Kidd, the assistants, came in and we've got this little bomb squad.
• 20:20
SPEAKER_01: And he's went, Hello, lummy, long time no saying all that.
• 20:23
SPEAKER_01: He goes, uh, where'd you live?
• 20:24
SPEAKER_01: I says, I know what you're getting at, Ryan.
• 20:27
SPEAKER_01: If this travelling's a chore for me, they pay me off.
• 20:29
SPEAKER_01: I live 15 minutes down the road.
• 20:31
SPEAKER_01: Uh, I love coming in and training and keeping fit.
• 20:33
SPEAKER_01: You're not getting anywhere rid of me, that's it.
• 20:36
  SPEAKER_01: 100% of me money.
• 20:37
SPEAKER_01: Is that enough for you?
• 20:37
SPEAKER_01: Is that what you're really asking?
• 20:39
  SPEAKER_01: Ryan went, Aye.
• 20:40
SPEAKER_01: What was it going off for you about 60 or 70?
• 20:42
  SPEAKER_01: Aye.
• 20:42
  SPEAKER_01: So they're often lads like 30%.
• 20:44
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, trying to go nah, nah, but something.
• 20:48
  SPEAKER_01: Thorbead league.
• 20:49
SPEAKER_01: Remember, they thought big centre forward, he buckled because he was travelling two hours a day.
• 20:53
  SPEAKER_01: So he took 40%.
• 20:54
SPEAKER_00: But that's what annoys me, though, right?
• 20:55
SPEAKER_00: Just to I know we've just gone on on one butt.
• 20:57
SPEAKER_00: No, no, go on one.
• 20:58
SPEAKER_00: The loyalty thing of football, like, say a club comes in for an opportunity for a player who's doing well up the leagues or whatever it is, and it's a great opportunity to go do well and earn some like better money or whatever it is, and everybody's moaning about the loyalty, and the club are like, ah, he's he's jumping ship or this kind of thing.
• 21:13
SPEAKER_00: But the minute they decide that a manager comes in and doesn't want you, you're in a bomb squad.
• 21:17
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you're training with a youth team, you're being told to come in at eight o'clock and do gym sessions, stay till three o'clock.
• 21:22
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 21:22
SPEAKER_00: Like try to piss you off to get you out of the door.
• 21:25
SPEAKER_00: So where's and then or there's 30% of what you signed?
• 21:28
  SPEAKER_00: Oh no, yeah.
• 21:29
SPEAKER_01: I played for Dalton and the Steve Staunton.
• 21:31
SPEAKER_01: Now remember Steve Staunton, left back legend.
• 21:34
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, brilliant.
• 21:34
  SPEAKER_01: What a clown.
• 21:36
  SPEAKER_01: Was he?
• 21:37
  SPEAKER_01: Honestly.
• 21:38
  SPEAKER_01: Clown watch.
• 21:39
SPEAKER_01: You know, he needs his own template.
• 21:42
SPEAKER_01: You've never been so disappointed.
• 21:44
SPEAKER_01: I watched Steve Staunton as a Premier League player, left footed Liverpool in class.
• 21:49
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 21:49
SPEAKER_01: He came in at Dalton.
• 21:50
SPEAKER_01: I went, you know what?
• 21:51
SPEAKER_01: I know I'm not fit, but I'm gonna learn off this block.
• 21:54
SPEAKER_01: He's fucking done the team, hasn't he?
• 21:56
SPEAKER_01: We get into the Gatha 12 on.
• 22:00
SPEAKER_01: No, it was just terrible.
• 22:02
SPEAKER_01: And you know what he done?
• 22:03
SPEAKER_01: He went, right, you lot, you are a cancer to the club.
• 22:06
SPEAKER_01: Just because six of them want too much money.
• 22:08
SPEAKER_01: You know what he done?
• 22:09
SPEAKER_01: Instead of taking us to every away game, making us train at eight in the morning, four o'clock at night, he went, right, you lot, come here.
• 22:16
SPEAKER_01: He went, I want you in at half nine every morning with the youth team and away by half ten.
• 22:22
SPEAKER_01: Weekends on a Friday, you get out of here by 12 o'clock, and I don't want to see you till Monday.
• 22:28
  SPEAKER_01: Not a problem.
• 22:29
  SPEAKER_01: Stanley! Stanley.
• 22:31
SPEAKER_01: We're talking about pom poms the other day.
• 22:33
SPEAKER_01: I was going out like that.
• 22:34
SPEAKER_01: Weekends off, trained every morning with Craig Little, Dolphin manager, uh, youth team manager, class, keeping fit, keeping strong.
• 22:41
SPEAKER_01: Knew I was finished anyway.
• 22:42
SPEAKER_01: So how do you get like six months of that?
• 22:44
SPEAKER_01: Couldn't even get the bomb squad right.
• 22:46
SPEAKER_00: He's went the other way, and he's trying to like manipulate yourself.
• 22:49
  SPEAKER_00: That was punishment, too.
• 22:50
SPEAKER_01: You know what's even I watched that Roy Keane film, Saipan, the other night, and we come to and it cast um Steve Staunton as someone who didn't even have an Irish accent.
• 22:58
  SPEAKER_01: It's a bad film.
• 22:59
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so but I'll tell you what, Carl, I've got a decision.
• 23:02
SPEAKER_01: If someone comes in for Linny and he's got a decision, I'd just be going.
• 23:05
  SPEAKER_01: I know he's on a good contract.
• 23:08
  SPEAKER_00: I know like it's numbers, right?
• 23:09
SPEAKER_00: And these numbers are great, but if an opportunity comes to go up the up the leaks and say, say Kaleo, worst case scenario, don't go up.
• 23:17
SPEAKER_00: Is he thinking, look what I'm playing against, like 80% of the time?
• 23:21
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 23:21
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 23:22
SPEAKER_00: And again, like if you're playing and scoring, you're enjoying football, but if you can go to like a Barnes or whatever and go to some of these big stadiums when it's like proper stadiums, you know, proper teams, you're rocking up against some of these.
• 23:39
  SPEAKER_02: And he's not 22, 23, is he?
• 23:41
SPEAKER_02: It's not like he can do it further down the line.
• 23:43
SPEAKER_01: But this is what I mean though, he's 29, he's getting the same dough here, I reckon.
• 23:47
  SPEAKER_01: And he's a hero and he'll score goals.
• 23:49
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 23:50
SPEAKER_02: I was shocked when I find it I found out he'd never played in the league, man, from what I've seen when he first came up.
• 23:54
SPEAKER_02: So this is the highest level he's played at the highest level, yeah.
• 23:56
SPEAKER_00: So say a top league two team or a league one team and brothers.
• 24:00
SPEAKER_00: You won't have a go, do him.
• 24:01
SPEAKER_00: You don't want to look back and think I'm not.
• 24:08
SPEAKER_02: I've heard of a couple of ex-teammates talk very highly of them as well.
• 24:10
SPEAKER_02: So you ran the record could kick on again.
• 24:13
  SPEAKER_01: Well, there you go.
• 24:15
  SPEAKER_01: It's a tough one.
• 24:18
SPEAKER_01: You love this place, it's alright here, innit, though, now we were to be honest.
• 24:23
SPEAKER_01: I was in an era when we were getting wages thrown out, we're like, I had to hit the gravy, but yeah.
• 24:28
  SPEAKER_01: But we earned them.
• 24:30
SPEAKER_02: It was a good time to watch Carl Island, though.
• 24:32
SPEAKER_01: It was thank you, Mark.
• 24:34
  SPEAKER_02: I wasn't wrong about you.
• 24:35
  SPEAKER_01: Right, another decision.
• 24:37
SPEAKER_01: Phil Foden, 26 year old in May.
• 24:42
  SPEAKER_01: He's been playing for 20 years.
• 24:43
SPEAKER_01: I think he made his Davio.
• 24:44
SPEAKER_01: He made his David was a good one.
• 24:45
  SPEAKER_01: He's got testimony.
• 24:46
  SPEAKER_01: He's got testimony.
• 24:48
SPEAKER_01: Right, he's won it all, but he's not a regular starter.
• 24:51
  SPEAKER_01: Or is he?
• 24:52
SPEAKER_01: Is 25 games a season enough now?
• 24:55
SPEAKER_01: Adam, you're gonna like this.
• 24:57
SPEAKER_01: I think he needs to go to an Everton assumate.
• 25:00
SPEAKER_00: Why is that down Great?
• 25:03
SPEAKER_00: I don't think he could there's no He needs to be playing with me like, and no disrespect to Everton, but like top top end players.
• 25:11
SPEAKER_01: I think if Everton get there, I think Everton should be when this it all settles down.
• 25:15
SPEAKER_01: I think Everton should be top six when they get oh yeah, they're top six.
• 25:18
SPEAKER_01: So if Grealish goes there, sign a couple of take struggled really though.
• 25:23
SPEAKER_00: Like looks alright in spells, but again, no playing with the same game.
• 25:26
SPEAKER_01: Is the Premier League's league or does he go Spain?
• 25:29
SPEAKER_01: But then he can only go Athletico, Barca, you put him in a Barca team with like he's not gonna get in though, is he?
• 25:38
  SPEAKER_00: Is he?
• 25:39
SPEAKER_00: Oh wait, you just tell me.
• 25:40
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
• 25:42
SPEAKER_00: I think you could like if you put him in the team with some of these.
• 25:44
  SPEAKER_00: Do you rate him?
• 25:45
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I rate him.
• 25:45
SPEAKER_00: I do rate him, aye.
• 25:46
  SPEAKER_00: I do rate him.
• 25:47
SPEAKER_02: I just think he's having a bit of a bad like not a bad time, but he's he's definitely that type of player to play on those type of teams.
• 25:54
  SPEAKER_02: I wouldn't be putting him down.
• 25:56
SPEAKER_01: Would you take him for England?
• 25:58
SPEAKER_02: Not at the minute, no.
• 25:59
  SPEAKER_02: I would take him.
• 26:00
  SPEAKER_00: Would you?
• 26:01
SPEAKER_00: He's in the squad, aye.
• 26:02
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 26:03
SPEAKER_00: I think he's one of the ones where he can create something.
• 26:06
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 26:06
SPEAKER_00: Like he's got a wee one two, touch, finish, and then like he's got that.
• 26:11
SPEAKER_00: I know, but you're Declan Rice is a poster boy who's we'll go on to it probably.
• 26:16
  SPEAKER_00: He's got what's the problem?
• 26:18
  SPEAKER_00: 300 passes backwards.
• 26:20
SPEAKER_00: Can I pass it forward?
• 26:22
  SPEAKER_01: He's alright, Declan.
• 26:23
SPEAKER_00: Did you see how many times?
• 26:24
SPEAKER_00: Like I seen uh oh who was it?
• 26:26
  SPEAKER_00: Uh Belasi.
• 26:26
SPEAKER_00: Is it Belasi, the the old midfielder?
• 26:28
  SPEAKER_00: Is it Yannick Belasi?
• 26:30
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I great point.
• 26:32
SPEAKER_00: He's been on Twitter and he's been having a ringer.
• 26:35
  SPEAKER_00: He was quality.
• 26:36
SPEAKER_00: He's got the stats set as well.
• 26:38
  SPEAKER_00: He said dead stats.
• 26:39
SPEAKER_00: He said the goalkeeper rare has got the most touches in the two centre halves at the full team.
• 26:44
SPEAKER_00: And then I seen a stats saying like they had like I might be wrong, but something like 100 passes back to the goalkeeper or something that we gave.
• 26:51
  SPEAKER_00: It was something mad.
• 26:52
SPEAKER_00: Like that can't be right.
• 26:53
SPEAKER_00: No, it can't be right.
• 26:54
SPEAKER_01: That was when Chris Beach said, look at my centre, my three fullback in the two centre halves for Carl Ewen, Warshite.
• 27:02
SPEAKER_01: He went, look at them, they passed the most, they've had the most completed passes in uh League Two or League One, League Two, it was.
• 27:07
SPEAKER_01: I because they've just given it the keeper.
• 27:09
SPEAKER_00: I spoke of it before, didn't we?
• 27:10
SPEAKER_00: Like young lads and that like 90% pass rate and stuff like that.
• 27:14
SPEAKER_00: My pass rate would have been about.
• 27:15
SPEAKER_00: You probably only made like three passes forward.
• 27:17
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 27:17
SPEAKER_01: My pass rate would have been about 73 because I got I went for it.
• 27:20
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 27:20
  SPEAKER_01: You said a goal.
• 27:21
SPEAKER_01: Like we've talked about Jamie Devitt.
• 27:22
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 27:22
  SPEAKER_01: He went for it.
• 27:23
SPEAKER_01: You used to try and play through the lines.
• 27:26
SPEAKER_00: But he's he's gone off like Declan Rice.
• 27:29
SPEAKER_01: Skip played through the lines of the day for over 35s.
• 27:32
  SPEAKER_00: Played well, didn't I?
• 27:32
  SPEAKER_01: You're done well.
• 27:34
  SPEAKER_02: Stiff the next day.
• 27:35
  SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
• 27:36
  SPEAKER_02: It's so bad.
• 27:37
SPEAKER_02: What bothers you the most?
• 27:38
SPEAKER_02: Like the legs, your back.
• 27:39
SPEAKER_02: It starts at your neck and it goes down your back.
• 27:41
  SPEAKER_02: Your toes.
• 27:42
SPEAKER_02: Your ass cheeks and your thighs everywhere.
• 27:44
SPEAKER_02: Still doing well, the lads.
• 27:45
SPEAKER_02: Like we're still having to go, aren't we?
• 27:47
SPEAKER_02: But we can't get it.
• 27:48
  SPEAKER_02: It's hard.
• 27:48
SPEAKER_02: What is it over 35s?
• 27:49
SPEAKER_02: Well, we've got to be a good one.
• 27:51
  SPEAKER_02: We're all 44s now.
• 27:54
  SPEAKER_01: I played 35 to 41.
• 27:56
SPEAKER_01: Hey, you listen to this?
• 27:57
  SPEAKER_01: Huey are like this.
• 27:58
SPEAKER_01: So Huey used to lean on us a little bit for the team, didn't he?
• 28:01
SPEAKER_01: This is my last ever game.
• 28:02
  SPEAKER_01: I'm doing six years.
• 28:04
SPEAKER_01: So do you know, like Penrith?
• 28:05
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 28:06
SPEAKER_01: And you know the server station between the Carlisle and Penrith, South Way.
• 28:09
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
• 28:10
  SPEAKER_01: Huey's rang mate there.
• 28:12
SPEAKER_01: He went, right, mate, you skipping Dabba in the midfield tonight.
• 28:15
SPEAKER_01: So I'm getting my banana down as last ever game.
• 28:17
  SPEAKER_01: Final, by the way.
• 28:18
  SPEAKER_01: Final.
• 28:18
  SPEAKER_01: This is the final.
• 28:19
SPEAKER_01: Last I come link up.
• 28:20
  SPEAKER_01: Like, right, nay bother.
• 28:22
  SPEAKER_01: Nice one.
• 28:22
  SPEAKER_01: Last ever game.
• 28:23
  SPEAKER_01: Good to go out.
• 28:24
SPEAKER_01: Good to go out on a high high.
• 28:26
SPEAKER_01: Seven minutes later, I'm looking at the old rep like memorabilia for Penriss, seeing a few people on you.
• 28:31
  SPEAKER_01: Got the tap.
• 28:32
SPEAKER_01: He went, Leaving you out tonight.
• 28:33
SPEAKER_01: What the fuck happened in the next seven minutes?
• 28:36
SPEAKER_01: I seen him pacing up and down the side.
• 28:38
  SPEAKER_02: I thought, what's wrong with him?
• 28:39
SPEAKER_02: He's like, he left us out.
• 28:41
SPEAKER_01: I was like, but this is how petty him and Hooley are.
• 28:44
SPEAKER_02: They went, I'll just go, mate.
• 28:46
SPEAKER_01: I just went, no, so it's been six years.
• 28:48
  SPEAKER_01: I'll get on.
• 28:49
  SPEAKER_01: I'll do the biz.
• 28:50
SPEAKER_01: I was on the sideline kind of home the floor.
• 28:51
  SPEAKER_01: Are you as well?
• 28:52
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 28:53
  SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna I'm glad Dylan's on one.
• 28:55
SPEAKER_01: I like it when he's gonna be a little bit more than this.
• 28:57
  SPEAKER_01: Right, Dylan.
• 28:59
SPEAKER_01: Thomas Hawley has done an interview.
• 29:01
SPEAKER_01: Remember the goalkeeper for Carlisle?
• 29:02
  SPEAKER_01: Eight foot six.
• 29:03
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, big lad.
• 29:04
SPEAKER_00: He liked telling you by the way how tall he was.
• 29:06
SPEAKER_01: Did he like every day?
• 29:08
SPEAKER_01: Did he like telling you how we couldn't get down for shots?
• 29:11
SPEAKER_01: Um Thomas Hawley done an interview where he said more of the League 2 lads who got them up should have got a chance.
• 29:18
SPEAKER_01: But I've heard from yourself, not in a bad way, and I've heard from fellow pros who were in that dressing room have now left experienced pros that former players in that dressing room, more higher players like yourself coming in were needed, and the mindset in the League Two players that went up weren't as professional.
• 29:40
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm baffled with that to be fair, Big Thomas.
• 29:42
SPEAKER_00: I don't know if I'm getting it wrong, but I'm sure majority of the squad stayed, didn't it not?
• 29:47
SPEAKER_00: League two into League One.
• 29:48
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because we didn't have the Simo didn't get the budget till the Christmas.
• 29:51
SPEAKER_01: The the family didn't come in till November.
• 29:54
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 29:54
SPEAKER_01: So we couldn't spend it.
• 29:55
SPEAKER_00: Because I'd just come in, obviously, that summer.
• 29:56
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 29:57
SPEAKER_00: And I thought majority of the boys are all you, Sam Nabel, a couple others.
• 30:03
SPEAKER_01: A few loans and stuff.
• 30:05
  SPEAKER_01: The bomb the teams.
• 30:07
SPEAKER_00: But majority of the team that played, like the playoff final, played.
• 30:11
SPEAKER_00: I think anyway, like the first couple of games I don't remember.
• 30:13
  SPEAKER_00: I can't remember the teams, but I I I don't I don't agree with that.
• 30:17
  SPEAKER_00: I don't agree with it.
• 30:18
SPEAKER_00: I think they got their fair share of playing, majority of them, over that season.
• 30:24
SPEAKER_00: And for me, the the whole thing was professionalism.
• 30:27
SPEAKER_00: The the squad wasn't wasn't ready to compete with League One.
• 30:31
  SPEAKER_00: But how?
• 30:32
SPEAKER_00: Like fitness-wise, what about away from the club?
• 30:36
SPEAKER_00: That's what I mean, like professional, like living their lives properly, and then that got goes on to like the pitch, like physically.
• 30:42
SPEAKER_00: There's a few like there were d like I'm not slagging them because we were like this.
• 30:46
SPEAKER_01: There's a few wanted to get home for the drink, but that changed in 2012.
• 30:50
SPEAKER_00: I think that was long time.
• 30:52
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, sports lines.
• 30:53
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 30:55
SPEAKER_00: Again, I'd like to see the stats on like where we were, like say first five games of that season against other League One teams.
• 31:02
SPEAKER_00: And I guarantee you we were like miles off at like distance.
• 31:05
  SPEAKER_01: Doing alright though.
• 31:06
  SPEAKER_00: We we'd we'd done alright a few.
• 31:07
SPEAKER_00: I think Fleetwood was the first game at home.
• 31:09
SPEAKER_00: We drew and you're kind of not riding a wave, but like you're you're in this new league.
• 31:14
SPEAKER_00: I mean everybody's exciting, new gate, like new teams.
• 31:16
SPEAKER_01: It's gonna catch up, yes, because some of the teams and players in that league.
• 31:18
SPEAKER_00: But like I remember coming on the first game against Fleetwood, and we've had a full pre-season and then one in a box like honestly, like ten minutes to go.
• 31:27
SPEAKER_00: I think there was a counter-attack or whatever it was.
• 31:28
SPEAKER_00: The boys went out for a throw-in and turned round and he's literally like hands on his knees, like gonna like I thought he was gonna pass out.
• 31:35
SPEAKER_01: So are you saying the the coaching you got was enough pre-season and the it was the lifestyle of the players a little bit, or did it need a bit of it needed a bit more?
• 31:45
SPEAKER_00: See from like everything was in place to compete in like pre-season and do all the fitness stuff and all that.
• 31:52
SPEAKER_00: The big thing for me was it was it was evident that there was a lot of boys that were miles off the standard, and that's fair enough.
• 32:00
SPEAKER_00: Fitness like of the the the running, the body fats, the weights, the gym stuff, like everything was there.
• 32:09
SPEAKER_00: We had it in paper, we had it up on the board.
• 32:10
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 32:12
SPEAKER_00: But within the the five-six weeks of pre-season, nothing changed over the six five, six weeks.
• 32:18
SPEAKER_00: The MSM boys, the MSM boys would have been the exact same body fat, exact same fitness, like guaranteed.
• 32:24
SPEAKER_00: They just thought, well, I'll play, I'll get fitness once I start playing.
• 32:27
SPEAKER_01: Like all the tally it dropped like a stone as well.
• 32:30
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 32:31
SPEAKER_00: And there's no coincidence that there's a we've put name in the names, but there's a few that have not even played just played off the cliff.
• 32:37
  SPEAKER_00: Not even playing.
• 32:37
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 32:38
SPEAKER_00: And it catches up, but that's aye, I think they've got their fair share to play.
• 32:44
SPEAKER_00: And listen, I'm part of doing it as well.
• 32:45
SPEAKER_00: I can say I was fit and this and that, but I wasn't good enough either at the time.
• 32:48
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 32:48
SPEAKER_00: Like when I was playing, so and I was professional, so it's we we just it was a bad mix of kind of a bit of everything, really.
• 32:55
SPEAKER_00: But to say they never got their chance, I think isn't true, to be honest.
• 33:00
  SPEAKER_01: Fair play.
• 33:01
SPEAKER_01: Following that question, I'm really sorry, I haven't got the name on it, so please give us a message and tell us who put this question in.
• 33:08
  SPEAKER_01: Enjoying the pod.
• 33:09
SPEAKER_01: Cheers for telling it as it is, which Dylan's just done.
• 33:12
SPEAKER_01: My question is this day and age is the hairdryer treatment from managers acceptable?
• 33:17
SPEAKER_01: I think Simo mentioned it a couple of seasons ago where he's had to phase it out.
• 33:21
SPEAKER_01: He said the days have gone.
• 33:22
SPEAKER_01: What do you all think?
• 33:23
SPEAKER_01: Or maybe a Brian Clough Peter Taylor approach where it was um one nice one.
• 33:30
SPEAKER_02: I didn't mind the good old rollock of me.
• 33:32
  SPEAKER_02: I think there's a place for it, definitely.
• 33:34
SPEAKER_02: But just not too much because it just becomes oh you go again.
• 33:36
SPEAKER_02: They just go on off all more.
• 33:37
  SPEAKER_01: But that's what we're talking about.
• 33:38
SPEAKER_01: When your mother shouts at you, you're like, ah, whatever, mother.
• 33:40
SPEAKER_01: When she's quiet, I know I knew I was in fucking trouble.
• 33:43
  SPEAKER_01: I say so much.
• 33:44
SPEAKER_01: Peter Reid, oh, he never came in the dressing room.
• 33:47
SPEAKER_01: Even though I wasn't playing, I knew that week was torture.
• 33:49
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 33:51
SPEAKER_02: I I mean, I used when I was at borough with um Chez Dave Bayliss and Chez, they were both mental.
• 33:57
  SPEAKER_02: Dave.
• 33:59
SPEAKER_02: They were both mad, so like when they went off on one, they're trying outdo each other.
• 34:03
SPEAKER_02: They're getting worse, and you're like, oh my god.
• 34:05
  SPEAKER_02: Start quite calm.
• 34:06
SPEAKER_02: He goes off, he goes off.
• 34:08
SPEAKER_02: And then he goes louder, louder, and then they're like, just to shout.
• 34:10
SPEAKER_01: Do you know Dave Bayless was an apprentice at Luton and he was on the bus, and these people wanted to fight Mick Harford.
• 34:16
SPEAKER_01: Mick Halford went, Howell in, and Dave Bayliss was the only one who got off of him.
• 34:20
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I can imagine that.
• 34:21
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
• 34:21
SPEAKER_02: Mick Halford went, You'll do for me.
• 34:24
SPEAKER_01: Mick Halford, I was apprentice at Sunland.
• 34:26
SPEAKER_01: So after the game we played Wimbledon, they had beat Sunland 3-1.
• 34:29
SPEAKER_01: I was so every dressing room used to let you in like near the end, and you were like, I want to get off.
• 34:34
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you do you?
• 34:35
SPEAKER_01: Wimbledon went, In you come, lads, there's some Lucas Aids and that.
• 34:37
SPEAKER_01: Mick Halford was like that.
• 34:39
SPEAKER_01: And I said something, he went, Oh, ginger balls.
• 34:41
SPEAKER_01: He went, Where are you from?
• 34:42
SPEAKER_01: I went to Castle, went to Castle.
• 34:44
SPEAKER_01: He went, I'm in idols tonight.
• 34:45
SPEAKER_01: If you're around, you probably won't get in though.
• 34:48
SPEAKER_01: Got in idols, didn't I that night?
• 34:49
SPEAKER_01: I was gonna see us.
• 34:50
SPEAKER_01: Ginger balls got a pint of like the worst pipe ever.
• 34:53
  SPEAKER_01: I was like, Chesmick.
• 34:55
SPEAKER_01: I just thought of that now, buddy.
• 34:58
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm happy with the rollican.
• 35:00
SPEAKER_01: As you say, it loses its water cut to change, didn't you?
• 35:04
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think now, like, definitely from the courses I've been on, like they talk about management, it's definitely changing, but try to teach you how to like manage different personalities, and not everyone's the same.
• 35:13
SPEAKER_00: So I mean so I think like Sim was touching on, it's almost like if we were in a dressing room now, us three here, we'd take the ball again, no problem.
• 35:22
SPEAKER_00: But it's knowing that there's a few there that they won't react well to that.
• 35:25
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 35:26
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they they need a different approach, and it's not like getting your arm around them, but maybe pulling them in on Monday and go through things and showing them why.
• 35:32
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 35:33
SPEAKER_00: Rather than if you started now as a manager, I say you were first day pre-season, would you get lads in for five minutes and just go through it and have a chat with every player just to say I think getting a profile and how what they are as people and like their family stuff like all that kind of stuff because then it's like and Jack Ross made a good point when we were on the license, he'd done our presentation, he was talking about he used to keep on his notepad in his office, and I loved this.
• 35:57
SPEAKER_00: He was like at Sunderland, because I was there at that time, I didn't even realise that he was doing it.
• 36:02
SPEAKER_00: But basically he would write down names of people that he's not spoken to in a while, right?
• 36:06
SPEAKER_00: And he'd keep a list of it, yeah.
• 36:08
SPEAKER_00: Because like it's easy to like naturally me, like he brought me in.
• 36:11
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so naturally when he's out and pitching him, he's like me and him will talk all the time, and a few others that are quite outspoken, but there's a few other characters that are really quite quiet and maybe no want to speak to the manager as much.
• 36:21
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 36:22
SPEAKER_00: So he was like, I always kept a list, and then I at the start of like the week, I would be like, right, I need to talk to Lummy, I need to talk to Skip Dylan, I'll make sure over the week I'll go have a couple minutes of conversation during the warm-up or whatever.
• 36:33
  SPEAKER_00: Do you know?
• 36:34
SPEAKER_00: I am it just helped them break down barriers.
• 36:37
SPEAKER_01: So I'd say to you, you do it on the Saturday for me, get yourself off Monday, you can have a warm down.
• 36:43
SPEAKER_01: Oh, you'd be all over it, wouldn't you?
• 36:45
SPEAKER_01: Dolly, when I was at my peak here, Dolly, what physio, what you done for me?
• 36:49
SPEAKER_01: Like, he just went, He says, Dolly, like it's intense.
• 36:52
SPEAKER_01: This this promotion, like the couple of promotions, it's it's intense.
• 36:55
SPEAKER_01: He went, right, I'll just see you not well, have Monday off.
• 36:58
SPEAKER_01: And that just Monday off, just like not to do anything, just Saturday, Sunday, just like just uh just chill.
• 37:04
SPEAKER_01: Dolly come in Tuesday, the head was just like really good.
• 37:08
SPEAKER_01: And I must like we bet to get something back.
• 37:10
SPEAKER_01: I wouldn't want to let him down.
• 37:11
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, do you know what I mean?
• 37:12
SPEAKER_01: So I'd come back like firing.
• 37:14
SPEAKER_00: Dolly's like I'd abuse it, but I'd myself back.
• 37:18
SPEAKER_00: But I mean, like when you were at a training on a Tuesday, you were at it, you weren't like oh, I'm allowed to do what I want, I'm gonna just chill it.
• 37:24
  SPEAKER_01: You'd know you'd you'd have to come back again, wouldn't you?
• 37:25
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, if we won't, I'd get it again.
• 37:27
SPEAKER_00: Like Dolly's like you could phone Dolly like the night before training and say, I'm pissed, like you need to help me tomorrow.
• 37:33
SPEAKER_00: No worries, like he's one of the boys' class, but you know what?
• 37:36
SPEAKER_01: What a physio as well.
• 37:38
SPEAKER_01: Top we might speak more about Dolly in the coming weeks, might we?
• 37:41
  SPEAKER_01: We might do, yeah.
• 37:42
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 37:43
SPEAKER_01: So our forward two last week.
• 37:47
SPEAKER_01: Skip wins it again with Rooney and Henri.
• 37:49
SPEAKER_01: But I'll tell you what, you're gonna win it.
• 37:50
SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of man you round here.
• 37:52
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there's a lot of man new around here.
• 37:54
  SPEAKER_02: So is that 2-0?
• 37:57
  SPEAKER_01: Is it viewers' votes?
• 37:59
SPEAKER_01: Rooney came on top of people's that were sent in.
• 38:02
SPEAKER_01: We had 57 people send that two in.
• 38:07
SPEAKER_01: Fair play, plus many other messages on it getting hammered.
• 38:11
SPEAKER_01: Um, so Rooney came on top of people sent in with a tie for second striker being Sheera and Kate Sheeta.
• 38:19
SPEAKER_01: You ah, he's done me there.
• 38:22
SPEAKER_01: I love Hesrian, just something right.
• 38:25
SPEAKER_01: Not many Henri, and fucking not many drug bar.
• 38:28
SPEAKER_01: Drogba, aye, that was a I've had a random one sent in.
• 38:32
SPEAKER_01: My lads, like in the pod as a Carlisle fan.
• 38:35
SPEAKER_01: Two strikers I'd pick it's Eric Cantonar and Paolo De Cagano, who's running the channel.
• 38:41
SPEAKER_01: Nobody that could have been the two maddest strikers of all time.
• 38:44
SPEAKER_01: Oh, imagine the red cards.
• 38:47
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 38:48
  SPEAKER_01: 4-4-9.
• 38:51
SPEAKER_01: Yep, so Skip wins that one.
• 38:54
SPEAKER_00: Catner, do you remember Canton like growing up?
• 38:56
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 38:56
  SPEAKER_00: Watching.
• 38:58
SPEAKER_01: When I was a kind of apprentice, you walk past and you forget how big they are.
• 39:01
  SPEAKER_01: They massive, the massive.
• 39:03
SPEAKER_01: They're massive, just uh just massive, just like you like legs are like just like the way Cardi show as well.
• 39:10
SPEAKER_01: Like, just dies bigger than yours, but I wouldn't have heat.
• 39:15
  SPEAKER_01: Was it child?
• 39:16
  SPEAKER_01: The tube room.
• 39:17
  SPEAKER_01: Clown watch.
• 39:18
  SPEAKER_01: Go on, let's go.
• 39:21
SPEAKER_01: At what age should you stop mimicking players' celebrations?
• 39:25
SPEAKER_01: Just made it late yesterday.
• 39:27
SPEAKER_01: Because when you use it, they'll look at when when Arsenal scored the pen.
• 39:33
  SPEAKER_01: What does he do?
• 39:34
SPEAKER_01: Oh I'm telling you, he ran to the crowd, and there was at least four 60-year-olds.
• 39:39
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's funny.
• 39:40
SPEAKER_00: I seen that on Twitter, and it was like at one now or something, or what whatever the score was, and it's like the two fans doing the fit doing the thingy, and then at 2-1 that showed you them the role.
• 39:49
SPEAKER_01: He still does the Robbie Keane in the uh he does the roll and then the machine got.
• 39:55
SPEAKER_02: Did you see the kid who scored against Sutton for Portville?
• 39:58
SPEAKER_02: You done the sheet of the Yeah, he'd done the shear.
• 40:00
SPEAKER_02: You'd have done the sheet.
• 40:00
SPEAKER_00: It's grown up Shirley, you'd done the sheet.
• 40:03
SPEAKER_00: I used to do the sheet of back in school.
• 40:04
SPEAKER_01: I like I wouldn't mind doing the Canton armor when he chipped Lionel Perez and Sunday.
• 40:09
SPEAKER_01: That was just the topic I'd done it when I scored against Canve Island.
• 40:14
SPEAKER_01: There's levels for this game.
• 40:16
SPEAKER_01: The bloke had just got off his shift.
• 40:19
SPEAKER_01: Just did a 10-hour shift, and I've curled it faster.
• 40:22
SPEAKER_01: Um right, so that's one.
• 40:28
  SPEAKER_01: What?
• 40:29
SPEAKER_01: We've seen a picture go viral of you.
• 40:33
  SPEAKER_01: Don't blame Kirky.
• 40:35
SPEAKER_01: So call so everyone, Skip is assistant manager at Carl City, and there's a picture going viral of Skip or Kirky getting booked off a referee.
• 40:44
SPEAKER_01: You've got your phone on you.
• 40:45
SPEAKER_01: I was checking the time.
• 40:46
  SPEAKER_01: Um scores.
• 40:50
  SPEAKER_02: Cash out.
• 40:53
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was um No no, you put a bet on your card.
• 40:58
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was um listen, what's happened is the post that's gone out, we've decided obviously between like ourselves it shouldn't have gone out.
• 41:10
SPEAKER_01: So you've hammered the reflection.
• 41:12
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, which was um said he was arrogant.
• 41:14
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, which was he?
• 41:16
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, it was.
• 41:17
SPEAKER_02: The job's hard enough, but it should stay where it is.
• 41:19
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 41:20
SPEAKER_00: Like it's it's one of them where is that as bad as just coming out in an interview button saying how arrogant yeah?
• 41:25
SPEAKER_00: Like I mean Is it that bad?
• 41:27
SPEAKER_00: Like, have you done that in an interview saying like how arrogant the the ref was?
• 41:30
  SPEAKER_00: I don't mind referees.
• 41:31
SPEAKER_00: Is it just because social media just jumped on it?
• 41:33
SPEAKER_02: Like, for example, like the linesman's flagged the the game before the lionsman's flagged a lad up, and he was on side, and Kirk is hammering the ref, and the ref just went, I haven't got the flag.
• 41:44
SPEAKER_02: Like, and but he's speaking back to him.
• 41:46
SPEAKER_02: Do you know what I mean?
• 41:46
SPEAKER_02: He's like, Look, I haven't got the flag, I've got to go with my assistant.
• 41:49
SPEAKER_02: And he's like, Fair enough.
• 41:50
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but it's the ones that way you shout on them, and they just run past it, you're like, I want to talk to you, and they won't speak to you.
• 41:56
SPEAKER_02: And that's when you yeah, your head goes, um listen, Kirk is a big angry man anyway, um and he's sort of like he keeps it chipping away, chipping away, chipping away, and then Connelly to set up.
• 42:10
SPEAKER_02: But yeah, you just want to speak to them.
• 42:12
SPEAKER_02: We we don't we don't I mean, listen, we're not we're far from great all the time performance-wise, but neither are they.
• 42:18
SPEAKER_02: Do you know what I mean?
• 42:19
SPEAKER_00: And the ones that go on it, see when you can have like conversations with them and they explain, you can disagree, just a lot of yellow cards.
• 42:26
SPEAKER_01: Mark Halsey was a wanker, and he's the one who he's the always the one now.
• 42:30
SPEAKER_01: So if there's a referee in Blunder at this at the at the weekend, Mark Halsey is always on talk sport, and he must every time they must have agreement now.
• 42:41
SPEAKER_01: Why aren't you involved with the PJ or whatever?
• 42:43
SPEAKER_01: Mark he went, Yeah, well, I'd love to, but they won't have me in there, like kind of saying, Go on, yeah, they give us a job.
• 42:49
  SPEAKER_01: I'm like, go on.
• 42:50
SPEAKER_01: I called, I remember one time I went, like, that you fucking clown.
• 42:53
SPEAKER_01: And he went, What did you say?
• 42:54
SPEAKER_01: I went, duck down, duck down, wasn't having it.
• 42:56
SPEAKER_02: He gave us the uh what was the ref one under the cosh call?
• 42:59
SPEAKER_02: Um, old school, is it uh yeah, yeah.
• 43:02
SPEAKER_02: Rangers, Middlesbrough fan, do you know uh Jeff Winter.
• 43:04
  SPEAKER_02: Jeff Winter.
• 43:05
  SPEAKER_02: He's the perfect example.
• 43:06
SPEAKER_02: He just said he used to uh have loads of crack with players.
• 43:09
SPEAKER_02: Hammer you're just back and it just stopped.
• 43:10
SPEAKER_00: The cams burst down, of course it does.
• 43:12
SPEAKER_00: It's just the ignoring you that winds you up.
• 43:14
SPEAKER_00: It's the ones that I had like headmasters, do you know what I mean?
• 43:17
SPEAKER_00: Like, don't speak to me, you're the pupil, like look the other way and all that, and just blank you, like, and then you get you wound up, he was like, Oh, I say goals and all that to my decision to find all that, which which it is because you're not in charge, but I had one last Tuesday before the ref was I was close to getting sent off.
• 43:31
SPEAKER_00: My head was gone, gone.
• 43:33
SPEAKER_00: He wouldn't talk to me.
• 43:34
SPEAKER_00: And I said, Is it Max and do you understand me?
• 43:36
SPEAKER_00: He was like, Yeah, yeah.
• 43:38
SPEAKER_00: No, and I was like, Well, and he was just like just turning round like blank.
• 43:42
SPEAKER_01: It was it was the top ref now from Newcastle, Oliver.
• 43:45
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he booked me and he got me out of a match on the sky, and it wasn't even a bad tackle.
• 43:49
SPEAKER_01: Sammy Klingon, I hit the tackle for Northam Forest.
• 43:52
  SPEAKER_01: Sammy Klingon, yeah.
• 43:53
SPEAKER_01: And he uh I says, Come on, man.
• 43:55
  SPEAKER_01: I says, come on.
• 43:56
  SPEAKER_01: I says, I've got a game next week.
• 43:57
SPEAKER_01: I used to see him out in Newcastle.
• 44:00
SPEAKER_01: Even I've got it, I was like, and we had a game on Sky, and then it got thankfully it got postponed.
• 44:07
SPEAKER_01: So I came back for the Sky one, but I missed another game.
• 44:09
SPEAKER_01: I was just like got it.
• 44:10
SPEAKER_01: But it was alright to be fair.
• 44:12
SPEAKER_01: Um, so Skip, you're not getting a clown watch, but you've got to be careful, eh?
• 44:16
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we are.
• 44:18
SPEAKER_01: So the so clown watches Mimican players celebrations, Skip booked.
• 44:22
  SPEAKER_01: It wasn't me.
• 44:23
  SPEAKER_01: I never got booked.
• 44:25
SPEAKER_01: Who's seen the Roy Keane Phil Saipan?
• 44:27
  SPEAKER_01: Saipan?
• 44:28
SPEAKER_01: I seen a clip of it and to hell.
• 44:30
  SPEAKER_01: I don't understand it.
• 44:32
SPEAKER_00: So it's it leads up to it or not aye for the horrendousness of it.
• 44:36
SPEAKER_00: Do you think, like, see the clip I seen when they're having a go to each other and then team meeting?
• 44:41
SPEAKER_00: How true do you think that is?
• 44:44
  SPEAKER_01: True, but Steve Coogan, who's a good actor, I can't believe.
• 44:48
SPEAKER_01: I can't believe he's took that role on, and I'm freaking Barry Norman, yeah.
• 44:52
  SPEAKER_01: Film film review.
• 44:55
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I can't believe Mick McCarthy and Roy Keenan.
• 44:59
SPEAKER_01: Well, Mick McCarthy can't be happy with this.
• 45:01
SPEAKER_01: They portrayed him as an absolute bumbling.
• 45:03
SPEAKER_01: Well he came out then he said something.
• 45:05
SPEAKER_01: He came out and said something there.
• 45:06
  SPEAKER_02: Is that not right?
• 45:07
  SPEAKER_02: Did he?
• 45:08
  SPEAKER_02: That's what I'm saying.
• 45:08
  SPEAKER_01: I would.
• 45:09
SPEAKER_01: I'm sure he only watched the full.
• 45:10
SPEAKER_01: He came across as an absolute bumbling fool.
• 45:13
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 45:13
  SPEAKER_01: Like painting fences.
• 45:15
SPEAKER_01: Honestly, he came across as someone who didn't know anything about football.
• 45:19
SPEAKER_00: But doing like a QA and then somebody mentioned it, and he was like, Do you think something like I would let somebody talk to me like that and not do it and about it and all this kind of thing?
• 45:28
SPEAKER_00: Two of my teammates were in there.
• 45:30
SPEAKER_00: So have you got inside knowledge are we?
• 45:32
  SPEAKER_00: Who was that?
• 45:33
  SPEAKER_01: Quinn Kevical Ban.
• 45:35
  SPEAKER_00: Breaking news then.
• 45:37
  SPEAKER_00: Is this conflict?
• 45:38
SPEAKER_01: Just said it went off.
• 45:38
  SPEAKER_01: Did it basically what?
• 45:40
SPEAKER_01: And my ex-manager, Steve Stanley Stones.
• 45:43
  SPEAKER_01: Stanley.
• 45:43
  SPEAKER_01: Stanley.
• 45:44
SPEAKER_01: Um Shea Given was there.
• 45:46
  SPEAKER_01: A few others.
• 45:47
SPEAKER_01: They reckon that Dean Kelly, this is so they didn't show this on the film, I wish they did, but I've heard it by three different people.
• 45:52
SPEAKER_01: I don't know if it was like right after Keane walked out or the meal that night and Dean Kelly went, listen, gaffer, subkeep a fourth keeper of it.
• 46:00
SPEAKER_01: He went, if you're looking for a box-to-box midfielder with a cracking right foot, arm your man.
• 46:06
SPEAKER_01: But again, keep out keep out who's got no responsibility on that trip to just be there and be the clown and that.
• 46:14
SPEAKER_00: But uh you can imagine Keane being going for a pay money to sit in the back of that meeting and lost in the wood going off there.
• 46:20
SPEAKER_00: Do you reckon um Gary because you had this shaved head at that point, when he was like looked at angry man, didn't he?
• 46:26
SPEAKER_01: In Keane's book, uh Gary Breen and David Connolly, the striker, went up and knocked and they went, Listen, Roy, like we can't stand up for you.
• 46:34
  SPEAKER_01: It's our first World Cup, we're 21, like 22.
• 46:36
SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
• 46:37
SPEAKER_01: Young lads, and he's went, No, don't worry about it.
• 46:39
SPEAKER_00: Like what was he looking for?
• 46:41
SPEAKER_01: People to be like No, no, he wasn't asked, but they went up and apologised and said we agree with some of the stuff.
• 46:45
SPEAKER_01: We just young lads on the were like living with dreams.
• 46:48
SPEAKER_00: Because he mentioned that about like an old leadership groups, but like a few of the senior boys.
• 46:52
SPEAKER_00: Well it was hitting Quinn.
• 46:53
SPEAKER_00: Never really never really like backed him.
• 46:55
  SPEAKER_01: But that's his problem.
• 46:57
SPEAKER_01: So was McCarthy was Quinny and Staunton's mate, kind of it's a horrible situation, really.
• 47:02
SPEAKER_01: There was no winners, was there, really?
• 47:04
SPEAKER_00: But you're standing up for the greater good in his eyes, isn't it?
• 47:07
SPEAKER_00: Like standards, like we're here to compete.
• 47:10
SPEAKER_00: Like, yeah, do you know what I mean?
• 47:11
SPEAKER_01: He didn't want to be little old Ireland again.
• 47:13
SPEAKER_01: But to be fair to McCarthy, it wasn't his fault.
• 47:15
SPEAKER_01: Some of the stuff that workout done alright as well, didn't I?
• 47:18
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I done alright.
• 47:19
  SPEAKER_01: Got beat on pens.
• 47:20
SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's right, yeah, yeah.
• 47:21
  SPEAKER_01: I remember I was in the Brooklyn's hotel.
• 47:23
SPEAKER_01: You know, when you just bored, I was on loan.
• 47:25
SPEAKER_01: Oh, I know I house was getting built.
• 47:27
SPEAKER_01: I was just in one o'clock in the afternoon.
• 47:29
SPEAKER_01: He has Republic of Ireland be Iran, the playoff game to get there, and I was like, oh.
• 47:34
SPEAKER_01: And uh they won it, they won't got beat one nil, but they still went through.
• 47:37
SPEAKER_01: But I was crackwheel cut that one right.
• 47:40
  SPEAKER_01: Jimmy O'Hara, not having a pop.
• 47:43
SPEAKER_01: Do you remember Billy Ricky Town?
• 47:45
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I do.
• 47:46
SPEAKER_01: So they went there on five grand a week.
• 47:49
SPEAKER_01: So they've got to sing the world's greatest.
• 47:52
  SPEAKER_01: Close your eyes, boys.
• 47:53
SPEAKER_01: Close your eyes and sing.
• 47:54
SPEAKER_01: But Jimmy O'Hara from now he said I was laughing.
• 47:58
SPEAKER_01: He wasn't, he was in it.
• 47:59
SPEAKER_01: And there was a kid who was laughing, and then he looked.
• 48:01
SPEAKER_01: The kid was laughing, he looked, and the camera's on and went.
• 48:05
SPEAKER_01: And the blokes went bust, hasn't he?
• 48:06
SPEAKER_01: So he put loads of money into Bill of Ricky to get them up the leagues, and it went bust.
• 48:11
SPEAKER_01: And we've got our very own tale of that, haven't we?
• 48:13
  SPEAKER_01: We have, yeah.
• 48:14
SPEAKER_01: We'll go into it in depth one week, but Celtic Nation, Dylan.
• 48:17
SPEAKER_01: So Carlisle City, where Skip is assistant manager now.
• 48:21
SPEAKER_01: That was Carlell City for a while, and it turned into a man from America, Scottish originally, was driving round, yeah, owns loads of um car washers in America, multi-millionaire, got directions and ended up at Carlisle City.
• 48:35
SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna buy this, yeah, I'm gonna get them through the leagues.
• 48:38
  SPEAKER_01: It was meant loud.
• 48:39
SPEAKER_01: Tried to buy Carl United, couldn't.
• 48:41
SPEAKER_01: Carl City changed the name to Celtic Nation, made them play a green.
• 48:45
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, Celtic finals, yeah.
• 48:46
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 48:47
SPEAKER_01: And believe it or not, a thousand Celtic fans every week used to come down.
• 48:52
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, was this like 2012-13?
• 48:55
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 48:56
  SPEAKER_00: I remember it.
• 48:56
SPEAKER_00: And I was at Celtic at the time.
• 48:58
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 48:58
SPEAKER_00: I remember like the talk about it.
• 48:59
SPEAKER_01: You tried to get because they brought all the.
• 49:04
SPEAKER_00: That would be funny, wouldn't it?
• 49:06
SPEAKER_02: We had um obviously Willie Gibson, your animals.
• 49:09
SPEAKER_02: I he played for us, Colin McMenaman.
• 49:11
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, um my mates who played in the promotion teams for Carl All and nearly gone to the championship three years down the line, about to retire, have all signed 700 quid a week, trained twice a week.
• 49:22
SPEAKER_01: Limo would pick them up, bring them over, food, play as lounge.
• 49:26
SPEAKER_01: Oh, get on the blow and get them.
• 49:28
SPEAKER_00: Remember when they are signed in some.
• 49:29
SPEAKER_00: Did you play with John Paul McGovern?
• 49:31
SPEAKER_01: No, but I commentated on him.
• 49:33
SPEAKER_01: So oh yeah, tell this right.
• 49:34
SPEAKER_02: He came to Salt Ignation, right?
• 49:36
SPEAKER_02: And obviously he's played really hard.
• 49:37
SPEAKER_02: So he's got on the bus.
• 49:39
SPEAKER_02: Bus isn't bus was decent, he thought.
• 49:40
SPEAKER_02: So we'd we're in a way game in the northeast, and we pulled up at um ground near the metro centre.
• 49:46
  SPEAKER_02: I can't mind.
• 49:47
SPEAKER_02: So we've pulled into the car park.
• 49:50
  SPEAKER_02: Dunstan's, yeah.
• 49:51
SPEAKER_02: And he thought we were picking somebody up.
• 49:53
SPEAKER_02: He was like, what we stop we're picking somebody up.
• 49:55
SPEAKER_02: He's like, no, this is who we're playing against.
• 49:57
SPEAKER_02: He's like, we can't be playing on there.
• 49:59
  SPEAKER_02: He's like, we are.
• 50:01
SPEAKER_02: So he got off, he he was anonymous in the game, his head's gone.
• 50:05
SPEAKER_02: And we didn't see him, and we didn't see him again.
• 50:06
  SPEAKER_02: That was our hand.
• 50:07
SPEAKER_02: He said, I can't play in this.
• 50:08
SPEAKER_02: And that was it, he was gone.
• 50:10
SPEAKER_01: But the uh Mick Modsworth, ex-champion, bloody Carlisle manager, hero, he came in for 10 games, didn't he?
• 50:16
SPEAKER_02: Mick come Mick got weighed in by the way, because he wouldn't come otherwise.
• 50:20
SPEAKER_02: But he used to make me take this free kick, right, on the halfway line.
• 50:24
SPEAKER_02: He says, kick it as high as you can in the air.
• 50:26
  SPEAKER_02: What a chip?
• 50:27
SPEAKER_02: And make it land in the box.
• 50:28
SPEAKER_02: So went, I'm not doing it.
• 50:30
SPEAKER_02: That's like the kickoff now.
• 50:32
SPEAKER_02: I mean, you see them when they pass it and then.
• 50:33
  SPEAKER_02: Well, praxis going higher.
• 50:35
  SPEAKER_02: I'm going, I can't get it any higher.
• 50:36
SPEAKER_02: Well, just from like no box, you just launch it because we had two massive centre arts.
• 50:41
  SPEAKER_02: I did I.
• 50:42
SPEAKER_02: And the judge it, but I couldn't do it.
• 50:44
SPEAKER_02: How can you get it higher than like I could get it in?
• 50:46
SPEAKER_02: You need to like keep it up.
• 50:47
SPEAKER_02: But it it's busy, you want to be you know your hands on it.
• 50:49
SPEAKER_02: You have to think in them, you have to make it a corner.
• 50:51
SPEAKER_01: I was like, and they'll make them doing it.
• 50:53
SPEAKER_01: Hey, Dylan had about ten players who'd played championship, no, league two and above, Scottish Premiership and above.
• 51:01
  SPEAKER_01: Fucking finished second, didn't I?
• 51:03
  SPEAKER_02: Didn't go up.
• 51:03
SPEAKER_02: Well, when I left when I left working and I was on a certain amount of money, I got a phone call off the chairman who used to play him as well, by the way.
• 51:11
SPEAKER_02: And he says, How much are you on?
• 51:13
SPEAKER_02: So I told him he went I'll double it from today.
• 51:17
SPEAKER_02: I went, right, I'm on the way.
• 51:18
  SPEAKER_01: Peter Murphy.
• 51:19
SPEAKER_02: Peter Murphy Peter Murphy, yeah.
• 51:21
SPEAKER_02: Peter Murphy, captain of Carlisle.
• 51:23
SPEAKER_02: And we still never won the league, by the way.
• 51:24
  SPEAKER_02: Come second.
• 51:24
  SPEAKER_02: Shielding.
• 51:25
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we couldn't know Spenny was.
• 51:26
  SPEAKER_02: Was it Spenny?
• 51:27
  SPEAKER_02: Spenny, aye.
• 51:29
  SPEAKER_02: I think the same.
• 51:29
SPEAKER_01: I was Benny more when I retired.
• 51:31
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 51:31
SPEAKER_02: They were a good team though.
• 51:32
  SPEAKER_02: Really good.
• 51:33
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 51:35
SPEAKER_01: I was very smug about 60 minutes in yesterday.
• 51:40
  SPEAKER_01: About hearts.
• 51:42
  SPEAKER_01: I told you, I told you.
• 51:43
SPEAKER_01: Fair play to the McKenis gets the job done.
• 51:46
  SPEAKER_01: Fair play to the.
• 51:47
SPEAKER_01: I don't know why I'm so against them winning it.
• 51:49
SPEAKER_01: I actually I think I want them to win it.
• 51:51
SPEAKER_01: It's just because I want to be proved right.
• 51:52
SPEAKER_00: You had a go at the interview, didn't he, after the game, did you see you say?
• 51:55
  SPEAKER_00: Did he?
• 51:55
SPEAKER_00: He was like, Is it better to be lucky than good sometimes or something?
• 51:58
SPEAKER_00: He went, Do you think we're lucky?
• 52:00
SPEAKER_00: And he said something back, and he's like, No, I'm asking you.
• 52:02
  SPEAKER_00: Report it up.
• 52:04
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
• 52:04
SPEAKER_00: He put it on him.
• 52:06
SPEAKER_00: He's like, let me tell you something, he's like, every team that wins a championship, there's going to be times where you come up against like adversity, like one-nil down at home, all this kind of stuff.
• 52:14
SPEAKER_00: And he's like, come back, we scored three goals, three, one down.
• 52:16
SPEAKER_00: That was pressure at one nil down.
• 52:20
SPEAKER_00: And he he answered back to be fair, he bit back, which was which was right.
• 52:23
SPEAKER_01: Rochdale in York, pressures on and then producing.
• 52:26
SPEAKER_01: But yeah, he's he was happy.
• 52:28
  SPEAKER_01: Are you hearts still?
• 52:29
  SPEAKER_01: Hearts?
• 52:31
  SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah.
• 52:32
  SPEAKER_01: Are you?
• 52:34
  SPEAKER_02: I'm Celtic.
• 52:34
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
• 52:35
  SPEAKER_02: I'm Celtic.
• 52:35
SPEAKER_02: I think I'm more leaning towards Rangers if I'm honest.
• 52:37
  SPEAKER_02: We've got a tough game today, haven't they?
• 52:38
  SPEAKER_02: Falk, yeah.
• 52:40
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
• 52:41
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
• 52:41
SPEAKER_01: All the Rangers fans will be in the Cali at 12.
• 52:46
SPEAKER_00: I just feel like Celtic.
• 52:48
SPEAKER_00: Like yesterday it was a it was a tough game, like they didn't play that well, they won one-nil.
• 52:54
SPEAKER_00: But I feel they've got their results where they could drop points, but they've also got in them to to go beat a hearts.
• 53:00
  SPEAKER_00: Like Man City 2-3-0.
• 53:01
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 53:02
SPEAKER_00: Or a Rangers at home, like go beat them.
• 53:04
  SPEAKER_01: Like Celtic.
• 53:04
SPEAKER_01: I think you're feeling that so what I'm feeling about Man City.
• 53:08
  SPEAKER_01: Just don't think they've they've got a loss in them.
• 53:10
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 53:10
SPEAKER_00: But they could go beat something, yeah.
• 53:12
  SPEAKER_00: Aye.
• 53:13
SPEAKER_00: Like it's just it's just down to heads to heads now, isn't it?
• 53:16
SPEAKER_00: Like, who's gonna come out?
• 53:17
SPEAKER_00: Speaking of Arsenal, they're clowns.
• 53:20
SPEAKER_00: I was just gonna say, do you think that's what I set beats coach?
• 53:26
SPEAKER_01: Not see them for a bit.
• 53:27
  SPEAKER_01: That's set beats.
• 53:30
SPEAKER_01: They kept saying Declan Rice was the only good player on the pitch, though, for them, Arsenal.
• 53:34
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 53:35
  SPEAKER_00: I love Declan Rice.
• 53:36
SPEAKER_00: I think he's like top, top, like box to box.
• 53:40
SPEAKER_00: I mean, you can do kind of everything, but going off that game yesterday and the stats and stuff, you do question, you're like, well, what are they doing?
• 53:48
SPEAKER_00: Do you mean they're at home going for a title?
• 53:51
SPEAKER_00: Majority of the passes are back the way.
• 53:52
SPEAKER_00: Did you see actually it was a good point?
• 53:54
SPEAKER_00: See the game during the week against Sport in Lisbon where Martin Ellis came inside, Havertz, the goal in the last minute.
• 53:59
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 54:00
SPEAKER_00: And it was like this sums up Declan Rice.
• 54:02
SPEAKER_00: See, when he gets the ball and he's got his back to go back to goal, he comes inside and Declan Rice is pointing to the centre half, like pointing back the way, as if like pass like pass at the centre half.
• 54:12
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 54:12
SPEAKER_00: He takes a big touch inside and he's by his man and creates a goal, and then they'll run about celebrating.
• 54:16
SPEAKER_00: And it was like that's the mentality of these Arsenal players.
• 54:21
  SPEAKER_00: Like, just play safe.
• 54:22
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 54:22
SPEAKER_00: Like, I would absolutely love them to choke.
• 54:25
  SPEAKER_00: Would you?
• 54:26
  SPEAKER_01: I would you not?
• 54:28
  SPEAKER_00: I would as well.
• 54:30
SPEAKER_01: I may go Arsenal as a clown watch.
• 54:32
  SPEAKER_01: Fans are unbearable.
• 54:33
SPEAKER_00: I'd love just to see Piers Morgan and that on Twitter.
• 54:35
  SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
• 54:35
SPEAKER_01: Did you see that there's every seats, you know?
• 54:37
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 54:38
SPEAKER_00: They're booing them off the pitch, they're nine points ahead.
• 54:40
  SPEAKER_00: So bad isn't it?
• 54:41
  SPEAKER_00: Nine points.
• 54:42
  SPEAKER_00: Jesus.
• 54:44
SPEAKER_01: I still say that I don't think City will catch it up.
• 54:47
  SPEAKER_00: Do they play today?
• 54:47
  SPEAKER_00: Chelsea.
• 54:48
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't think they'll never get a better chance to win at Arsenal.
• 54:51
SPEAKER_00: But they're just no I don't know what it is, but they're no likable.
• 54:54
  SPEAKER_00: Nah, they're not likable.
• 54:55
  SPEAKER_00: They're not likable.
• 54:56
SPEAKER_00: Like I think like as players, like there's a few things that have happened over the season, and then Chivin Thingy off with the biggest.
• 55:03
  SPEAKER_00: The ref as well.
• 55:05
SPEAKER_01: He took Connett Bradley off, wasn't he?
• 55:06
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and he was a big thing.
• 55:07
SPEAKER_00: And he'd done his ligament.
• 55:09
SPEAKER_00: Just like the way they're playing as well now, like it's no they're not that great to watch.
• 55:13
SPEAKER_00: Arsenal used to be a good team to watch.
• 55:14
SPEAKER_00: Now it's like set plays, our tetras interviews after games, the fact the media stuff online and stuff.
• 55:20
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 55:21
  SPEAKER_00: Biggest game of today.
• 55:23
  unknown: Go on.
• 55:24
  SPEAKER_00: Sunderland v Spurs.
• 55:26
  SPEAKER_00: I want a gun.
• 55:27
  SPEAKER_00: I think it'd be class.
• 55:28
SPEAKER_00: Is it a Stadium Elite?
• 55:29
  SPEAKER_00: Is it?
• 55:30
  SPEAKER_02: I fancy Sunderland, mate.
• 55:32
  SPEAKER_02: Got it?
• 55:33
  SPEAKER_02: Massively, yeah.
• 55:33
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 55:34
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know what he's gonna change with.
• 55:36
SPEAKER_00: Now we're in the bottom three Spurs now.
• 55:37
SPEAKER_00: West Ham one, in there and it kills him like that.
• 55:39
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, puts massive pressure on them, doesn't it?
• 55:41
  SPEAKER_01: Right?
• 55:42
  SPEAKER_01: Quick one again.
• 55:42
SPEAKER_01: Andy Robertson, where does he go?
• 55:45
SPEAKER_01: Oof, I think he'll go to Celtic.
• 55:47
  SPEAKER_00: Totten, Tottenham, doesn't it?
• 55:48
  SPEAKER_00: I've seen that.
• 55:48
  SPEAKER_00: I don't go to Celtic.
• 55:50
SPEAKER_02: No, nothing he'll go with Twitter.
• 55:52
SPEAKER_00: The boy on Twitter that Fabio is it Romano or something?
• 55:54
SPEAKER_00: He tweeted about supposingly Tottenham.
• 55:56
  SPEAKER_00: Yes.
• 55:57
SPEAKER_02: But what if they went down like that?
• 55:58
SPEAKER_02: He was meant to go to Tottenham Christmas.
• 55:59
SPEAKER_00: It was depending on obviously the status, yeah.
• 56:03
  SPEAKER_00: I don't see him.
• 56:04
  SPEAKER_00: Oh well.
• 56:04
SPEAKER_00: He's gonna he's gonna want too much money to go to Celtic.
• 56:07
  SPEAKER_00: Is he?
• 56:07
SPEAKER_00: And why would Celtic give him the money?
• 56:11
SPEAKER_00: Just for like oh he was a Celtic fan growing up, do you know what I mean?
• 56:14
SPEAKER_00: And obviously he's a good player, but like is he gonna bring that much?
• 56:18
SPEAKER_00: Is he gonna is he a number nine, is he a winger that now you think, well, let's go splash some money and you'll make the difference.
• 56:24
  SPEAKER_00: He won't wear it.
• 56:25
SPEAKER_00: A left back, it's like Trippie, but they've got Tierney and the other boy there.
• 56:28
SPEAKER_00: Like, there's no really any point.
• 56:30
SPEAKER_02: They've got that Lewis Hall, haven't they?
• 56:31
  SPEAKER_02: He's got a lot of things.
• 56:31
SPEAKER_02: Oh, he's never getting an infinite there, is he?
• 56:33
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but yeah, nice.
• 56:35
  SPEAKER_01: Right, what's the crack?
• 56:37
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 56:38
SPEAKER_01: I've had a few questions already, but we'll go on to what's the crack now.
• 56:41
SPEAKER_01: Um, again, sponsored by our very good friends, Warwick Road Bed Centre, Julian.
• 56:46
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 56:46
SPEAKER_01: Um, and the furniture shop on Brooke Street, isn't it, Skip?
• 56:49
  SPEAKER_01: Yes, that's right, yeah.
• 56:50
  SPEAKER_01: New and News Furniture.
• 56:52
SPEAKER_01: Um, and for a little bit, what's the crack on the bed centre?
• 56:57
SPEAKER_01: We've got a text from Scott Beebe.
• 56:59
SPEAKER_01: Me and the wife once got a water bed that Skip has tried out.
• 57:02
SPEAKER_01: We had to get rid of it though, as we were drifting apart.
• 57:05
  SPEAKER_01: Oh god.
• 57:07
SPEAKER_01: Seriously, though, keep up the good work.
• 57:09
SPEAKER_01: Such a dad joke at that.
• 57:11
  SPEAKER_01: It's a dad joke.
• 57:12
SPEAKER_01: Julian, you're even getting jokes in the lot now.
• 57:15
SPEAKER_02: So see, I could tell Sophia that in the car, but just because I would try and start laughing.
• 57:18
  SPEAKER_02: She's still laughing, she wouldn't have a cruel.
• 57:20
SPEAKER_02: But you're not cool, Dad.
• 57:21
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 57:22
  SPEAKER_02: It's getting that way.
• 57:23
  SPEAKER_02: Not cool.
• 57:24
SPEAKER_01: Hi, to the three amigos.
• 57:26
SPEAKER_01: Thank you for the podcast.
• 57:27
SPEAKER_01: It's been quite refreshing to hear your opinions and sharing both sides of the argument, of which there has been plenty at Brunton Park.
• 57:34
SPEAKER_01: My question to the team, us, is are agents needed and are they a value for money to the player and the club?
• 57:42
SPEAKER_01: As a fan, they seem to make things complicated.
• 57:45
SPEAKER_01: Would it be better to be paid on performance?
• 57:48
  SPEAKER_01: Cheers, Jonathan from Gilsland.
• 57:51
  SPEAKER_01: They're definitely needed now.
• 57:52
SPEAKER_01: There's too much going into contracts.
• 57:54
SPEAKER_01: If you're 29-30 in a Carlisle, you can probably negotiate yourself.
• 57:58
  SPEAKER_01: But when you're 23-21, even 15, 16, 17, there's image right stuff.
• 58:03
SPEAKER_01: But Carlisle's bill for agents was an absolute disgrace.
• 58:07
SPEAKER_01: That was mad, wasn't it?
• 58:08
SPEAKER_01: Oh god, I haven't got the figures yet, but uh and transfer.
• 58:14
  SPEAKER_01: That's the thing, isn't it?
• 58:14
SPEAKER_01: When you want a money, Lincoln had a similar budget and they went to the championship.
• 58:19
  SPEAKER_00: Up there.
• 58:20
SPEAKER_02: Is that what those the finances was?
• 58:23
  SPEAKER_02: Wow.
• 58:23
  SPEAKER_02: It's a freak.
• 58:24
SPEAKER_02: I've seen that that comparison, but I mean obviously Carl I'll do a pay over the audio, but it's a freak out what Lincoln's done, isn't it?
• 58:29
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think Lincoln have always been managed well, though they had good players in the building, I thought.
• 58:34
SPEAKER_01: Is that siren still going on the side or not?
• 58:36
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
• 58:37
SPEAKER_01: Someone said it it wasn't it they brought it back last definitely last season when we play uh so maybe two seasons ago.
• 58:42
  SPEAKER_01: I've heard it.
• 58:43
  SPEAKER_01: I think it's on.
• 58:45
SPEAKER_02: What about agents with uh uh youngsters as in like do you think they're needed for younger players?
• 58:52
  SPEAKER_00: I think I think it's a it's too much.
• 58:56
  SPEAKER_00: How too young?
• 58:56
SPEAKER_00: They'll sign them at fifth.
• 58:57
SPEAKER_00: Well there's the stories a lot younger, just obviously under the table, but they'll sign them at 15 and a half.
• 59:05
SPEAKER_01: It depends who you get.
• 59:07
  SPEAKER_01: Depends who you get.
• 59:08
SPEAKER_01: If someone's got a passion for the kids and playing, but my if I could do it all again and I had an agent, my agent would be a person who's played the game, who's made his money, where it's his hobby, but he was passionate about it, not someone who's trying to make a few quid.
• 59:22
SPEAKER_01: Because we've had agents who just want to move you, you're just one of a hundred get there.
• 59:27
  SPEAKER_02: That was my mistake.
• 59:28
  SPEAKER_02: I went with a big hitter.
• 59:29
  SPEAKER_02: I did it first.
• 59:30
  SPEAKER_00: Couldn't care less.
• 59:31
SPEAKER_00: But what happens is you go down your leagues, you don't hear from them.
• 59:34
SPEAKER_00: To be fair, I know a few boys who've had stories where the yeah drop like they've had them for years, yeah.
• 59:41
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 59:41
SPEAKER_00: And then get a text basically saying, I don't look after anybody under like like jammy shit.
• 59:46
SPEAKER_00: Paul Thurwell in England and stuff, like like so-and-so, like so-and-so is going to look after you now and that, and it like pushback tight.
• 59:52
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 59:52
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 59:53
SPEAKER_01: Paul Thurwell, uh ex I was at someone with the next Carl captain, he had uh Stretford, Rooney's, and then Rooney came on the scene, so I got a text you'll be now with Jonathan.
• 1:00:01
SPEAKER_01: See what anything you need Jonathan.
• 1:00:05
SPEAKER_01: I remember I was with an agent once and I was in Marbia with the Sunday squad and Kev Kilbaum went, Mick, you look after Lummy, don't you?
• 1:00:11
  SPEAKER_01: He went, No.
• 1:00:12
SPEAKER_01: I was like, You did no, I you do sorry I'm not pulling up new trees.
• 1:00:18
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so agents, I think they are needed, but there's too many kind of personal as possible, can you?
• 1:00:26
SPEAKER_01: And go with people who touch base with you, offer you extra, get a good team around them, the nutritionist, there's a lot more to it now than just an agent going into an office with you.
• 1:00:37
  SPEAKER_00: But what happens now?
• 1:00:38
SPEAKER_00: Like they sit down and they say, I'll get you down the road.
• 1:00:40
SPEAKER_00: Like I know it's happening a lot in Scotland, like young kids at 15, 16, I'll get you Chelsea, I'll get you Arsenal, I'll get you in.
• 1:00:46
SPEAKER_00: And the parents don't know football, they don't they think oh amazing, that's brilliant for my kid.
• 1:00:50
SPEAKER_00: But there's a lot of there's a lot of for different things.
• 1:00:53
SPEAKER_00: Do you know I mean it could it sounds amazing, but is it the right thing where you better stay in it?
• 1:00:57
SPEAKER_00: Uh Motherwell where you develop for a couple of years.
• 1:00:59
SPEAKER_01: New dad, a few dads around, yeah.
• 1:01:00
SPEAKER_01: I've been given new kitchens and all that right, Dier Three.
• 1:01:05
SPEAKER_01: I've supported United since I went to my first game in the 1964-65 promotion season.
• 1:01:11
SPEAKER_01: There have been a few highs and lows and many managers.
• 1:01:15
SPEAKER_01: So I'll take the hit on this.
• 1:01:16
SPEAKER_01: Which three managers were the best you've played under and why?
• 1:01:21
SPEAKER_01: And which three managers were the best ever Carlisle managers?
• 1:01:24
SPEAKER_01: So I'll just quickly go to the first.
• 1:01:26
SPEAKER_01: That's from Tom, thank you.
• 1:01:27
SPEAKER_01: So Bill Shankly was manager of Carlisle, believe it or not, yeah, at one point.
• 1:01:32
SPEAKER_01: He professionalised the club, he had good FA Cup runs, and they went on to and then he went on to Liverpool 10 years later and won the lot.
• 1:01:38
SPEAKER_01: Alan Ashman guided to the highest ever achievement, division one, that would be Les O'Neill's team.
• 1:01:44
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:01:44
SPEAKER_01: Um Simo, has had the most kind of promotions.
• 1:01:49
SPEAKER_01: Wadsworth done well, Mervyn Dare done well, but I'll just say their teams they went up from League Two and came straight back down.
• 1:01:55
SPEAKER_01: So our team is better.
• 1:01:57
SPEAKER_01: Um and John Sheridan had a win percentage of 46 um percent before he spat the dummy in Fuckdown.
• 1:02:06
SPEAKER_01: No, I'm telling you, because you'll tell them.
• 1:02:11
SPEAKER_01: So for me then, well, Simmo's obviously going to be up with us, but you can't get away.
• 1:02:16
  SPEAKER_01: What a list.
• 1:02:16
SPEAKER_01: I'm pretty sure uh Bob Stoke was manager, wasn't he?
• 1:02:20
SPEAKER_01: Bob Stoke, he won the FA Cup for Sunday.
• 1:02:22
SPEAKER_01: How did he do it, Carlisle?
• 1:02:24
SPEAKER_01: No, Pop Robson didn't do well either, did he?
• 1:02:27
SPEAKER_01: Uh where's Big Stephen Presley in that one?
• 1:02:29
SPEAKER_01: At least Minshin or Minshire or something.
• 1:02:31
SPEAKER_01: He came as a psychologist to Barnsley clown.
• 1:02:34
SPEAKER_01: Don't know what he'd done for Carlisle.
• 1:02:35
SPEAKER_00: See Big Presley, how did he go on it, Carl?
• 1:02:40
SPEAKER_02: Was that a struggle, was it?
• 1:02:42
  SPEAKER_02: I had to struggle.
• 1:02:43
SPEAKER_02: I just didn't want the radio action.
• 1:02:44
SPEAKER_01: Well, we get he's a oh he hammered James, didn't he?
• 1:02:47
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:02:48
SPEAKER_01: James kept pushing him after a game, like well.
• 1:02:51
SPEAKER_01: Which fair place to James.
• 1:02:52
  SPEAKER_01: James does his own.
• 1:02:53
SPEAKER_01: James doesn't keep going at me.
• 1:02:56
SPEAKER_01: James will chip away at them.
• 1:02:59
SPEAKER_01: So we were two in a we were 2-0 down against Crew, and we came back to twos each, and then Crewe scored two more, went 4-2.
• 1:03:06
SPEAKER_01: And Presley and James went, da da da, and I can't remember, I'll get it for the next week.
• 1:03:10
SPEAKER_01: Presley said something, and like going backing him up.
• 1:03:13
SPEAKER_01: And James went, Isn't that worse?
• 1:03:16
SPEAKER_01: Like what have we said?
• 1:03:17
SPEAKER_01: Presley went, I mentioned Bridgie on commentary, didn't I?
• 1:03:22
SPEAKER_01: Just saying he was in for the job a while ago.
• 1:03:24
SPEAKER_01: We were getting beat, not meaning anything by it.
• 1:03:26
  SPEAKER_01: Got a phone call, didn't I?
• 1:03:27
  SPEAKER_01: And the number.
• 1:03:28
SPEAKER_01: I just picked it up.
• 1:03:28
SPEAKER_01: When hello, all I heard was, You ever managed Chris?
• 1:03:32
SPEAKER_01: I went, yeah, and I just went, Yeah, we can walk, get it off your chest.
• 1:03:35
SPEAKER_01: And he went on one.
• 1:03:36
SPEAKER_01: Like, oh, he went on one.
• 1:03:37
SPEAKER_01: And I says, You need to write rewind the tape, listen to it, get to your media department who've let you down because you're massively off the you're massively off the mark.
• 1:03:45
SPEAKER_01: I says, I'll see it, Stephen is on Saturday and expect an apology.
• 1:03:48
SPEAKER_01: And uh you know what he's a funny guy, yeah.
• 1:03:54
SPEAKER_01: He is he you know he's actually a good, really good guy.
• 1:03:56
SPEAKER_01: He's a good guy, yeah, a good guy, but then blinded by tactics and systems and philosophies again.
• 1:04:04
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's done well with Dundee this year where there was hella many.
• 1:04:07
SPEAKER_00: Where they started, I mean they started really poor, and then he's he's actually done really well with him.
• 1:04:10
SPEAKER_01: I'd say quickly, best manager's Peter Reid for how he got the if I was 28, or Michael Gray or Alex Ray or Gavin McCann in that team who played for him for four seasons, I would have loved it.
• 1:04:20
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:04:21
SPEAKER_01: Days off, but worked hard, days off, looked after them, good relationships, like looked after the lads.
• 1:04:28
SPEAKER_01: Simmo, obviously, and third one not Stanley Staunton Do you know what?
• 1:04:35
SPEAKER_01: Goodyear and Thorison at Barnes because he was a bit different, right?
• 1:04:38
SPEAKER_01: Um just with the old before it all happened, blood tests and all that sort of stuff, getting your fitness levels.
• 1:04:46
  SPEAKER_01: Mine was Paul Cook.
• 1:04:48
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, for alleged just for just sheer entertainment.
• 1:04:51
SPEAKER_02: The guy was he up here as well, was he?
• 1:04:53
SPEAKER_02: No, I had him at Oh you're Major Sorry, right?
• 1:04:55
SPEAKER_02: I had him at Southport uh and Sligo.
• 1:04:58
SPEAKER_02: Um and the year I spent with him at Sligo was just madness.
• 1:05:04
SPEAKER_02: Jolly boys out and uh yeah, Jolly Boys out and just but you know what?
• 1:05:08
SPEAKER_02: He knew his stuff, and that's why he's still doing it.
• 1:05:10
SPEAKER_02: Water player player used to do everything with the outside of his left foot.
• 1:05:13
SPEAKER_02: Water player, and then the joint two at Barrow, they're bearing petrified of them, just mental, but you just wanted to play for them, yeah.
• 1:05:24
SPEAKER_02: Infectious, yeah, because the the back you're up so much when you when you've done it for them, yeah, but and they would hammer you, but it would the door be closed, yeah, and they wouldn't go out and do it to anybody else, but they would give you it.
• 1:05:33
SPEAKER_02: And Brian Horton, just because he gives him a debt.
• 1:05:35
SPEAKER_02: I was gonna say Brian Horton.
• 1:05:36
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they give him a debut and sort of believed it as and he was old school, but uh another one, he was scary, but you wanted to play for it.
• 1:05:42
SPEAKER_02: We all like this old school, but you wanted to play for it.
• 1:05:44
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:05:45
  SPEAKER_00: I think mine's the same.
• 1:05:46
SPEAKER_00: Neil Lennon, very similar, what you said yeah.
• 1:05:49
SPEAKER_00: He would absolutely harm me like the probably the most I've had in my full career.
• 1:05:52
SPEAKER_01: Does it make a difference that players have played sometimes?
• 1:05:55
SPEAKER_01: Good John didn't play, so I wasn't that bad.
• 1:05:57
SPEAKER_01: He kind of played, but Simo carried a bit of.
• 1:06:00
SPEAKER_01: Way Peter Reed carried a bit of weight.
• 1:06:01
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:06:02
SPEAKER_02: I'm just thinking to the ones I played for.
• 1:06:04
SPEAKER_02: I think they all played really, yeah.
• 1:06:06
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:06:06
SPEAKER_02: But yeah, like you say, the the when you say scared, you're not scared, is it like you're respecting it's respecting, isn't it?
• 1:06:12
  SPEAKER_02: Well scared.
• 1:06:13
SPEAKER_02: Oh, I was scared of that.
• 1:06:15
SPEAKER_00: Oh, we were scared of that.
• 1:06:16
SPEAKER_00: Like Steve Steve answered back, like you could answer back and then he would hammer you.
• 1:06:20
  SPEAKER_00: Like, answer back.
• 1:06:24
SPEAKER_00: See if he was shouting at you or something, and you've like like shaking a heap like because sometimes he was he was totally wrong.
• 1:06:29
SPEAKER_00: Like the majority of the time that he's he's thinking something that never happened, you know.
• 1:06:35
SPEAKER_00: Genuinely wasn't your fault, and you're kind of like shaking a heap like fuck like going mental.
• 1:06:40
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 1:06:41
SPEAKER_00: But like see if you see if you cross the line like over that, like he's throwing punches, like you're thinking.
• 1:06:46
  SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
• 1:06:47
SPEAKER_00: He's not one of the guys that'll just like be shouting match, no fuck you, fuck you, whatever.
• 1:06:51
SPEAKER_00: It's like, no, he's he's coming towards you, and there's a fight, there's a fight for the physio bench in the middle, running round it.
• 1:06:57
SPEAKER_02: Do you ever play do you ever get changed in the old?
• 1:06:59
SPEAKER_02: I couldn't stand the change in the smaller thing.
• 1:07:02
SPEAKER_02: Ian Crane and John Coleman had a full-on fist fight at halftime in front of everyone.
• 1:07:05
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like father and son, there's a lot of things.
• 1:07:07
SPEAKER_02: I but and then in the bar afterwards laughing and joking, I think I've caught you a good name in that on you.
• 1:07:11
  SPEAKER_00: That's a good team, that's all.
• 1:07:12
  SPEAKER_00: I really good.
• 1:07:13
  SPEAKER_00: Jack Ross.
• 1:07:14
SPEAKER_00: Jack Ross would be up there, like technically in that as well.
• 1:07:17
SPEAKER_00: Like, and more so as I said before about doing the licensing and stuff like all that what I'm trying to get in there, like he's a kind of perfect example of like the modern day how to like try run a dressing room and think about things other than just 442.
• 1:07:32
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 1:07:33
SPEAKER_00: Like now rocking up your ass or aye, like just like how to try create like good dressing rooms and doing different things and training and thinking of like new ways of doing things.
• 1:07:45
SPEAKER_00: So whereas Lenny was very old school, do you know what I mean?
• 1:07:47
SPEAKER_00: Like very basic, but like you knew your jobs.
• 1:07:50
SPEAKER_00: Ross was like Jack was trying to do things different, which was really good.
• 1:07:53
SPEAKER_01: I like Dario Graria crew when I was alone, but he drove me mad because if we were we're two-nil up in the championship and it was my loan, and then we'd draw twos each they'd score two in the last minute.
• 1:08:03
SPEAKER_01: I'd be fuming he go, it's all about development.
• 1:08:05
  SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's not, man.
• 1:08:06
  SPEAKER_01: Like it's not.
• 1:08:07
SPEAKER_01: I want to win four.
• 1:08:08
SPEAKER_01: You don't want to hear that there, no, no.
• 1:08:09
  SPEAKER_01: Third one, who's a Scotland manager?
• 1:08:11
SPEAKER_00: Alex McCleech gave me my but I only put a couple of games, so I didn't spend enough time.
• 1:08:17
SPEAKER_00: I mean, it was like one camp.
• 1:08:18
SPEAKER_00: Just two, just two for his country.
• 1:08:19
SPEAKER_01: I hope Alex McLeish must have been drinking with Peter Reid when he pulled him up.
• 1:08:23
  SPEAKER_01: Alex, are you alright?
• 1:08:26
SPEAKER_00: No, um I'll say Big Stubsy, Alan Stubbs.
• 1:08:30
  SPEAKER_00: Aye, aye.
• 1:08:31
SPEAKER_00: He comes across as a brilliant guy.
• 1:08:34
SPEAKER_00: He was one of the ones where he wouldn't go off his head like the way Neil Lennon that would, but he he's obviously a big massive guy.
• 1:08:40
SPEAKER_00: I mean, and if he said something it had had weight behind it, but he was more like one of the boys.
• 1:08:44
SPEAKER_00: I mean, he's one of the boys, you could speak about it, and he could come in and sit when you're having breakfast and that and like just join in the conversation.
• 1:08:50
SPEAKER_00: But like we were successful with him.
• 1:08:52
SPEAKER_00: I mean, and he let us be very free in how we played.
• 1:08:55
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, great question.
• 1:08:56
SPEAKER_01: So I done my research for the Carlisle managers.
• 1:08:59
  SPEAKER_01: Well done.
• 1:08:59
SPEAKER_01: You know, I don't just toss it off all week and just bowl in.
• 1:09:02
SPEAKER_01: Right, another question from Craig Barron, Dougie's fellow, not little Dougie with coach, yeah, yeah.
• 1:09:07
SPEAKER_01: Craig Baron, Craig lives next to uh Kev Frampton.
• 1:09:10
  SPEAKER_01: Right, morning guys.
• 1:09:11
SPEAKER_01: First thing I'd just like to say how much I'm enjoying the podcast.
• 1:09:15
SPEAKER_01: Well done, it's a really good listen.
• 1:09:16
SPEAKER_01: I know you spoke briefly about the Abitha tour the other week.
• 1:09:19
SPEAKER_01: Me and a few of my friends from Keswick's came that week, and what a week.
• 1:09:23
SPEAKER_01: But I just hope your accommodation was better than ours.
• 1:09:26
SPEAKER_01: Our club arranged accommodation, I joke you not, resembled a dungeon, ground floor dark, no aircon, and a tiny window that had tiny bars on it and three feet away from another wall, so the views were exquisite.
• 1:09:38
SPEAKER_01: My question is for you, Lummy, in Brickett, the ginger pan face.
• 1:09:42
SPEAKER_01: That's what Dennis Booth used to call us.
• 1:09:46
SPEAKER_01: Nicknames and who made them up.
• 1:09:48
SPEAKER_01: I briefly remember a newspaper article you done, and you went through all your teammates and came up with the nicknames and told us why.
• 1:09:55
SPEAKER_01: I remember a few: Andy Horn, Busshead, Kevin Grey, Sausage Fingers, Glenn Murray, Mara the Dolphin, Stephen Heinmar, Sheephead, Carl Holley, Yogi Bear.
• 1:10:04
  SPEAKER_01: Yogi Bear.
• 1:10:05
SPEAKER_01: So that was just quickly.
• 1:10:06
SPEAKER_01: We went to stop two friends.
• 1:10:08
SPEAKER_01: Paul Arneson was the count of uh Sesame Street.
• 1:10:12
SPEAKER_01: So I'll get a picture of the count in Sesame Street.
• 1:10:15
SPEAKER_01: Chris Billy, remember the lighthouse family.
• 1:10:18
  SPEAKER_01: Single.
• 1:10:21
  SPEAKER_01: Danny Livesy, remember.
• 1:10:22
SPEAKER_01: Uh oh, is it Livsey?
• 1:10:24
  SPEAKER_01: I don't think it was Livsey.
• 1:10:25
SPEAKER_01: Um you just forget there's so many.
• 1:10:28
SPEAKER_01: We just look at someone, don't you?
• 1:10:30
SPEAKER_01: And you just and then there's one's that stick to on it.
• 1:10:32
  SPEAKER_01: It's the boys.
• 1:10:33
SPEAKER_01: And have you react it as well?
• 1:10:35
SPEAKER_01: You know, when Chesney came at the Coronation Street, nearly stuck with me.
• 1:10:38
SPEAKER_01: I had to get rid.
• 1:10:39
SPEAKER_01: I made sure I dug deep, didn't get out.
• 1:10:42
  SPEAKER_01: I remember I played against Burnley pre-season.
• 1:10:44
SPEAKER_01: They had Ronnie Jepson and my Ronnie Jepson.
• 1:10:46
  SPEAKER_01: Massive.
• 1:10:47
SPEAKER_01: I've had skinny Ronnie for a bit.
• 1:10:48
  SPEAKER_01: Skinny Ronnie Jeffson.
• 1:10:50
  SPEAKER_01: I was called for a bit.
• 1:10:50
  SPEAKER_01: That wasn't great.
• 1:10:51
SPEAKER_02: What was your other line of conversation called?
• 1:10:53
  SPEAKER_02: Um Kirk.
• 1:10:53
  SPEAKER_02: Went out with Fizz.
• 1:10:54
  SPEAKER_02: Uh Tyrone.
• 1:10:56
  SPEAKER_02: I got that.
• 1:10:56
  SPEAKER_02: That's right.
• 1:10:56
SPEAKER_02: I got Tyrone off uh the Portville white tees.
• 1:10:59
SPEAKER_02: I used to show fuck off Tyrone.
• 1:11:00
SPEAKER_02: Now you're both slim, dude.
• 1:11:03
SPEAKER_01: Well, I used to get on it.
• 1:11:06
SPEAKER_01: Right, so I I'll try and dig that thing out.
• 1:11:08
  SPEAKER_01: We'll go over there.
• 1:11:08
SPEAKER_01: Uh John Coleman done the article.
• 1:11:10
SPEAKER_01: And a question from my son Dougie, who has been coached by yourself, Lomi, and Skip, and admired Dylan's passing game whilst at Carlisle.
• 1:11:18
SPEAKER_01: What's the best bit of advice you have been given and can pass on for your young aspiring centre midfielder?
• 1:11:27
  SPEAKER_01: Say that again.
• 1:11:28
SPEAKER_01: Best bit of advice you could be given and can pass on to a young, aspiring centre midfielder.
• 1:11:33
SPEAKER_01: Me and my boy Dougie, our season ticket holders at Carlisle.
• 1:11:36
SPEAKER_01: It's great dad and lad time, even though it's been tough in recent times.
• 1:11:40
SPEAKER_01: Hopefully this season will end with a promotion.
• 1:11:42
SPEAKER_01: Many thanks and keep up the good work, fellas.
• 1:11:44
  SPEAKER_01: Superb pod.
• 1:11:46
  SPEAKER_01: Thanks, Craig and Dougie.
• 1:11:47
SPEAKER_01: So the best bit of advice, I'm gonna go Stefan Schwartz.
• 1:11:51
SPEAKER_01: So it wasn't me, but little Mark Convree, who we know we nicked the money in Marbier when meant to get the stereo, but we he tried to ping a ball and he done it a couple of times in a practice game, and Stefan Schwartz went, Do what you can, not what you want.
• 1:12:05
  SPEAKER_01: And I went, That's decent that.
• 1:12:08
  SPEAKER_01: That is decent.
• 1:12:09
SPEAKER_01: So at 18, 19, I don't know what it was like for you, but centre midfielder, you had you were trying to hit the worldie ball, weren't you?
• 1:12:15
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, trying to hit the cross, weren't you?
• 1:12:18
SPEAKER_01: And then it quickly went to keep it, keep it, keep it.
• 1:12:20
SPEAKER_01: Now it's when two full, you've got to have a mix, haven't you?
• 1:12:23
SPEAKER_01: But I think back then it was worldly, worldly, worldie, worldie when you just Peter Reed would have been more impressed if you just kept it.
• 1:12:29
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, kept it, yeah.
• 1:12:30
SPEAKER_00: I think it's like it's hard because you want to do what you're good at, but at a young age you also want to do things that to improve.
• 1:12:40
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 1:12:41
SPEAKER_00: You want to work on things, you like your passing isn't the great, you want to work on it.
• 1:12:43
SPEAKER_00: But obviously there's a time and place, like not in games, do you know what I'm trying to diag over the time, but work on your weaknesses, but and then also really focus on what you're good at.
• 1:12:54
SPEAKER_00: As you said, like if you're really technical and you take the ball anywhere, that's your game.
• 1:12:58
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 1:12:58
SPEAKER_00: Like and then hopefully over over a period where you're going to different clubs or whatever and you're progressing, that a manager will look at that asset.
• 1:13:08
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 1:13:08
SPEAKER_00: Like what you're good at, like nobody's really gonna be an all-rounder.
• 1:13:11
SPEAKER_00: They kinda you go to a a team where the manager wants something that's six foot two, box the box, but and then you go to another manager who's like, no, we're gonna possession-based team, so we I want something that's gonna be good in the ball.
• 1:13:23
SPEAKER_00: So eventually the managers will hand pick you for what your your skill is.
• 1:13:27
SPEAKER_01: Uh did you work at the Dennis Booth when um Dennis turned me from ball playing midfield, uh I could put a tackle in to kind of he's always phrased was the other side of the game?
• 1:13:38
SPEAKER_01: Track runners, get your tackles in, and then play.
• 1:13:41
SPEAKER_01: He was an old school midfielder where you done it, you've done everything.
• 1:13:44
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, midfield used to be you'd done everything, didn't you?
• 1:13:45
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:13:46
SPEAKER_01: You won the ball, you you're big, not big structures, but aggressive, passed it, got goals, proper eight.
• 1:13:52
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:13:52
SPEAKER_01: Um, so he got me, that was good advice from him, other side of the game.
• 1:13:56
SPEAKER_02: I coached a couple of lads just last week, academy lads, and I've sort of done done a few drills, but then I stopped and spoke to them and said, Look, work on your weaker foot.
• 1:14:07
SPEAKER_02: It's not comfortable to do.
• 1:14:09
SPEAKER_02: And they're a bit they don't like how they look when they're doing it, you know what I mean?
• 1:14:13
SPEAKER_02: Because they're feel awkward, they feel a bit of bad.
• 1:14:15
SPEAKER_02: But you have to do it because if you do it repetitively over time, it will improve.
• 1:14:19
SPEAKER_01: It's not like when you throw with your other arm.
• 1:14:21
SPEAKER_02: I know, and it's like it's never gonna get better, but so I've done a few like little shooting drills or something like that.
• 1:14:26
SPEAKER_02: And once I'd spoke to them about it, say, look, it's not gonna look good, and you're probably not gonna feel good doing it, but if you keep doing it, it will get better.
• 1:14:33
SPEAKER_02: And it meant and after you had that conversation with them, then it was easy for them to do instead of just thinking, Oh, this looks shit.
• 1:14:39
SPEAKER_01: Did you ever go to the England trials, Doncaster, when you were younger?
• 1:14:41
SPEAKER_01: Three days, torture being away from your mum and dad.
• 1:14:43
  SPEAKER_01: Might have been Keel.
• 1:14:45
SPEAKER_01: So we got graded, and I remember my first grades were all B's, and my left foot was C.
• 1:14:50
SPEAKER_01: So I had a yeah, and I went back and everything was A's, but my left foot, day in, day out in my back guard, and my father must have gone mad.
• 1:14:57
SPEAKER_01: Ping, ping, side foot outside witnesses.
• 1:15:00
  SPEAKER_01: And you know what?
• 1:15:01
SPEAKER_01: This is the different thing about football back then.
• 1:15:03
SPEAKER_01: Once you made it pro in our era, you were done.
• 1:15:06
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you didn't get coached, did you?
• 1:15:07
SPEAKER_01: No, you know, but you just ticked over, didn't you?
• 1:15:09
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you ticked over.
• 1:15:10
SPEAKER_01: You never got really better until Adrian Heath came in at nick Sonda and he taught me the round the corner path.
• 1:15:15
SPEAKER_01: You just learned the game.
• 1:15:16
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:15:17
SPEAKER_00: You don't you don't technically get home your craft is it called?
• 1:15:21
SPEAKER_00: Well, now now you've got a lot of the top teams are doing like individual player coaches and stuff like so you can come in and work with certain players, and and I think that's good between because there is a bridge between like 17-18, yeah, trying to hit the first team and then actually being ready to play weekend week in there.
• 1:15:36
SPEAKER_00: You're kinda in that in-between stage, yeah.
• 1:15:38
SPEAKER_00: Which we spoke about before with the reserve football as well.
• 1:15:40
  SPEAKER_01: So great question.
• 1:15:42
SPEAKER_01: Stefan Swartz, do what you can, not what you want, other side of the game, left foot, yeah.
• 1:15:47
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you were saying be the complete player, it's yeah, work on everything, isn't it?
• 1:15:52
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:15:52
SPEAKER_00: I think it's just being able to, as you said, like you're never gonna be now one of your main assets is your left foot, but you you need to be able to use it.
• 1:16:01
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, do you know what I mean?
• 1:16:02
SPEAKER_00: There is like how many it's so frustrating now.
• 1:16:04
SPEAKER_00: I see I see it and I've played with players where they're running round the ball, yeah, yeah, so they can go on their good foot, and it's like and then the boy will get to make a tackle or whatever it is, or you're thinking you could have done that half a second quicker on your bad foot, and it's not like try World Cup passes, it's a 10-yard pass.
• 1:16:21
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 1:16:21
SPEAKER_00: Like you you should be comfortable enough to be able to move the ball.
• 1:16:24
  SPEAKER_00: 100%, yeah.
• 1:16:24
SPEAKER_01: It's all about um using your weaker foot to curl it past Dave Besson in the top corner at Fraten Park.
• 1:16:30
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 1:16:31
SPEAKER_01: Am I gonna do this accent?
• 1:16:33
  SPEAKER_01: I'm not.
• 1:16:34
  SPEAKER_01: Good agents.
• 1:16:35
SPEAKER_01: Before venturing overseas, I held a season ticket at Sunland for many seasons and watched them play at various levels of the football ladder.
• 1:16:42
SPEAKER_01: Whilst living overseas, I've watched professional football in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Australia.
• 1:16:48
SPEAKER_01: Having watched Skip and Lummy play professionally, I can say with confidence that both of you would have easily managed to play in Australia.
• 1:16:54
  SPEAKER_01: Piece of piss.
• 1:16:55
SPEAKER_01: Which has the highest standard of the countries I've mentioned.
• 1:16:59
SPEAKER_01: At any time during your professional career, were you approached or offered the opportunity to play overseas?
• 1:17:05
SPEAKER_01: If so, at what stage of your career and did you give a serious consideration?
• 1:17:10
SPEAKER_01: As I'm sure a lot of viewers are aware, local lad Grant played in both Singapore and Australia before he's returned to the UK and rise through the English League's Grand Holt.
• 1:17:19
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Holt, yeah.
• 1:17:20
  SPEAKER_01: Thanks, Tin.
• 1:17:21
SPEAKER_01: A question from a listener in Australia.
• 1:17:24
SPEAKER_01: My good friend Martin, yeah.
• 1:17:25
SPEAKER_01: As you uh so near the end there was talk of me for Australia after Darlington, but I'd I'd rinsed it up on my back.
• 1:17:34
  SPEAKER_01: I could I wasn't getting through another medical.
• 1:17:35
SPEAKER_01: Did it interest you or not?
• 1:17:37
SPEAKER_01: No, no, but listen to this.
• 1:17:40
  SPEAKER_01: 19-year-old, I walked into um Peter Reed's office.
• 1:17:44
  SPEAKER_01: He went, loan move.
• 1:17:45
  SPEAKER_01: I went, yes, Detroit's France.
• 1:17:48
  SPEAKER_01: Really?
• 1:17:49
  SPEAKER_01: 19.
• 1:17:51
SPEAKER_01: How did you get out of that one?
• 1:17:53
SPEAKER_01: I'll tell you how we got out one time.
• 1:17:54
SPEAKER_01: We had this we had a trip at the end of the season, every season we played Grenoble for the under 18s, Grenoble.
• 1:18:00
SPEAKER_01: But so you finished, and if you hit this age mark, you didn't have to go.
• 1:18:04
SPEAKER_01: So your week, your six weeks started then.
• 1:18:06
SPEAKER_01: If you hit the age gap, you go to Grenoble for like seven, eight days.
• 1:18:10
SPEAKER_02: You didn't want to go, did you?
• 1:18:11
SPEAKER_01: So they're dropping like flies.
• 1:18:12
SPEAKER_01: Lummy, you're gonna have to come because I was kind of above the like I'd progressed.
• 1:18:17
SPEAKER_01: Took me right of vibe.
• 1:18:19
SPEAKER_01: There was a little roundabout of South Shields that all day, and I went.
• 1:18:22
  SPEAKER_01: Did you?
• 1:18:23
  SPEAKER_01: I topped the car.
• 1:18:25
  SPEAKER_01: I do that, man.
• 1:18:26
SPEAKER_01: Can I have been that bad of a trip?
• 1:18:28
  SPEAKER_01: Horrendous.
• 1:18:29
  SPEAKER_01: Absolutely horrendous.
• 1:18:30
SPEAKER_01: I would have crushed my own.
• 1:18:31
SPEAKER_01: I'm just selling the next neck.
• 1:18:33
SPEAKER_00: I wasn't like a little bit of bumper, but I got out of Grenoble.
• 1:18:36
SPEAKER_00: You're the horde of it, didn't you?
• 1:18:40
  SPEAKER_01: But Troy's, yeah.
• 1:18:40
SPEAKER_01: Troy was in French League.
• 1:18:42
  SPEAKER_01: They were about mid-table.
• 1:18:44
  SPEAKER_00: Who knows?
• 1:18:46
  SPEAKER_01: Don't know what the tie-up was.
• 1:18:46
SPEAKER_01: Don't know what Mark Convery and Michael Proctor.
• 1:18:49
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:18:50
SPEAKER_01: Michael Proctor, assistant manager, yeah, yeah.
• 1:18:52
SPEAKER_01: They got um like a work experience loan.
• 1:18:55
SPEAKER_01: So pre-season, they went and played for a Danish team part-time.
• 1:18:59
SPEAKER_01: They both just started seeing lasses, you know, and the summer where you got free and you get all the gear and that they were fuming.
• 1:19:05
SPEAKER_01: A couple of lasses flew out a few times.
• 1:19:07
SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah, that was like a work experience.
• 1:19:10
SPEAKER_02: I would have been top of my car then and I'll I had a well, I had a chance to go not on a great level.
• 1:19:16
SPEAKER_02: Remember David Broadbent from Newcastle?
• 1:19:18
  SPEAKER_02: I do, yeah.
• 1:19:19
  SPEAKER_02: Welsh lad.
• 1:19:20
SPEAKER_02: He went over there and he got in touch with me when I was I think I was at Barrow at the time.
• 1:19:24
SPEAKER_02: He's like, Would you fancy coming over playing decent level but integrating with coaching as well?
• 1:19:30
SPEAKER_02: Um and I thought about it for about 10 minutes.
• 1:19:32
  SPEAKER_02: Ten minutes.
• 1:19:33
SPEAKER_00: It's quite big, out there, the coaching on the way.
• 1:19:34
  SPEAKER_02: Nah, I thought I can't, I'm just a homebrew.
• 1:19:36
SPEAKER_01: You come out in highs when you go past the fleet.
• 1:19:40
SPEAKER_02: I'm like, I need to turn I need to turn back.
• 1:19:42
SPEAKER_01: So when I was in the car with them the other week when I was coaching, we're like that.
• 1:19:47
SPEAKER_01: What's the matter with you?
• 1:19:48
SPEAKER_00: I need to get home.
• 1:19:49
SPEAKER_00: I need to get home.
• 1:19:49
SPEAKER_00: I need to get home.
• 1:19:51
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, mine was similar.
• 1:19:53
SPEAKER_00: I was kinda I spoke to I can't remember the name of it, but it was Melbourne, but not Melbourne City.
• 1:19:58
SPEAKER_00: Did they have a link up, Celtic?
• 1:20:00
  SPEAKER_00: No.
• 1:20:00
  SPEAKER_00: No, no.
• 1:20:01
SPEAKER_00: No, I'm sorry, this was just like the year before I came to make a loyal.
• 1:20:04
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, right.
• 1:20:04
SPEAKER_00: I went a few months before the club at the start of the season.
• 1:20:08
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but no, but it wasn't Melbourne City, it wasn't like the It was in Melbourne.
• 1:20:11
  SPEAKER_00: I know, I've been told that.
• 1:20:13
  SPEAKER_01: Do I?
• 1:20:14
  SPEAKER_01: I look good, eh?
• 1:20:15
SPEAKER_01: I want to see the umput, so you love the arm.
• 1:20:17
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, you're alright.
• 1:20:18
  SPEAKER_00: Dry claw, dry claw.
• 1:20:20
  SPEAKER_00: Send my way.
• 1:20:22
  SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, I can't remember.
• 1:20:24
SPEAKER_00: It was it was in Melbourne, but it wasn't the the main team, so part-time.
• 1:20:27
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 1:20:28
SPEAKER_00: Um, but I was pretty close.
• 1:20:29
SPEAKER_00: Did we want to meet a go over in the January and this was just before Christmas.
• 1:20:32
SPEAKER_01: Melbourne Knights, I've had a better name.
• 1:20:34
SPEAKER_00: It might be then, it might be.
• 1:20:36
SPEAKER_00: But yeah, just we just had my little one at the time, and it was a and then Forrest Green came in and took me down, and I thought League One like bait me back in the shop window.
• 1:20:46
SPEAKER_00: And I'm glad to be fair, like I would have would have been about 29 at a time.
• 1:20:50
  SPEAKER_00: I'm still young.
• 1:20:51
SPEAKER_01: You would have probably had to stay out.
• 1:20:52
SPEAKER_01: Zach Cliff's went out and he stared, hasn't he?
• 1:20:55
SPEAKER_01: Ryan Edmondson's went, came back, he's a Crusaders or something.
• 1:20:58
SPEAKER_00: I know they were a distant team, but and then you see Jason Cummins, like don't know if I've mentioned it before, the best example I've ever seen of couldn't get in the the the bench at Dundee at the start of the season, goes to Mariners, plays, scores goals, and by the end of that year, playing the World Cup against Messi.
• 1:21:15
SPEAKER_00: I know can't even get in the gate like for Dundee.
• 1:21:18
SPEAKER_01: Did he marry a lass out there or something?
• 1:21:20
  SPEAKER_00: No, no, no.
• 1:21:21
  SPEAKER_00: Is he in India?
• 1:21:21
SPEAKER_00: She went over with him, he's in India now, yeah.
• 1:21:23
  SPEAKER_00: Commons.
• 1:21:24
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but how'd he play for Australia then?
• 1:21:26
SPEAKER_00: His mum or something, something to do with his mum or something, I think.
• 1:21:29
SPEAKER_00: He did I don't think he he obviously he he must have known, but I don't think he knew that he was eligible.
• 1:21:33
SPEAKER_00: Same with Martin Boyle as well, like until he proper looked in it.
• 1:21:36
SPEAKER_00: Like never never came up like that.
• 1:21:38
SPEAKER_01: Max Powers back at Bradford, eh?
• 1:21:40
SPEAKER_01: He went out to Dubai second league, didn't he?
• 1:21:42
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he went Saudi.
• 1:21:44
  SPEAKER_00: He went Saudi.
• 1:21:45
  SPEAKER_00: Max.
• 1:21:45
  SPEAKER_00: And he went then.
• 1:21:46
SPEAKER_00: Did you play with him?
• 1:21:47
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:21:48
SPEAKER_00: He was a proper midfielder.
• 1:21:49
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:21:49
  SPEAKER_00: Good guy.
• 1:21:50
  SPEAKER_00: Like goals.
• 1:21:52
SPEAKER_00: Aggressive, all round, like in a good career.
• 1:21:55
  SPEAKER_00: Always up for it.
• 1:21:55
  SPEAKER_00: Good career, him.
• 1:21:56
SPEAKER_00: I I know why managers would would want to sign him.
• 1:22:00
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:22:00
SPEAKER_00: I mean a couple of promotions and he's all in to be fair to him.
• 1:22:03
SPEAKER_01: He's kind of one of the if you're going for League One promotion is your go-to a little bit, isn't he?
• 1:22:07
SPEAKER_00: But he's all in like off the pitch, like he's looks after yourself like physically, like right in his fitness.
• 1:22:15
SPEAKER_01: We were on a er, I was out.
• 1:22:17
SPEAKER_01: So on a Sunday night in the castle, like the gay scene's like bouncing, but it's not really gay because it's everyone.
• 1:22:22
SPEAKER_01: Is it on the like the life set?
• 1:22:24
SPEAKER_01: You know where it is, Dylan.
• 1:22:28
SPEAKER_01: You ever on their uh Christmas 2?
• 1:22:29
SPEAKER_01: And I met David Raven.
• 1:22:30
  SPEAKER_01: Raven.
• 1:22:33
SPEAKER_01: He brought Max and Max he says from time to time when he plays for Sun, when he played for Sun, he was driving past because I'm I'm driving past this nightclub.
• 1:22:40
SPEAKER_01: He must have lived in Gates or something.
• 1:22:41
  SPEAKER_01: Aye aye.
• 1:22:42
SPEAKER_01: When I just think of that night.
• 1:22:46
SPEAKER_00: Melbourne, so well there was a chance of getting out, but I never I never did realised.
• 1:22:51
SPEAKER_00: But it's always something that I thought lifestyle-wise as well.
• 1:22:55
SPEAKER_00: Like if you do a bit of coaching and part-time now, and sit because the apartments they were showing me, like online, I was looking at them, see from the window, you could see the seeing stuff.
• 1:23:05
SPEAKER_01: I mean, right on the Michael Bridges went over at 33, played a couple of years, and then got like the Jamie Carragher role on Sky over there for 15 years.
• 1:23:13
SPEAKER_02: Well, the lad who sent the question in, he sends me videos off his balcony, just barbecue on and bottle and the view and the jump on the barbecue, is he?
• 1:23:22
  SPEAKER_02: Sorry, sorry, sorry.
• 1:23:23
SPEAKER_01: I feel like you always need the accent when you see that though.
• 1:23:26
SPEAKER_01: What do you send uh videos of?
• 1:23:28
  SPEAKER_01: Just walking the dolce.
• 1:23:33
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 1:23:34
  SPEAKER_01: So that's what's the crack.
• 1:23:35
SPEAKER_01: Loads of questions this week.
• 1:23:37
SPEAKER_01: Thank you very much for everyone who sent them in.
• 1:23:39
  SPEAKER_01: Keep them coming.
• 1:23:39
SPEAKER_01: We've had to like I've had to promise people we'll get them down the line and to try and link them to what we're talking about.
• 1:23:46
SPEAKER_01: So I'm not just sitting there, you know, on laptops.
• 1:23:48
  SPEAKER_01: I'm bothering me arts.
• 1:23:49
SPEAKER_02: And we know how hard you work.
• 1:23:50
  SPEAKER_02: Thank you very much.
• 1:23:50
  SPEAKER_02: Setting in the pub.
• 1:23:51
SPEAKER_01: Sometimes it's nice to that's my reward.
• 1:23:54
SPEAKER_01: So thank you to Julian and the bed centre again.
• 1:23:57
SPEAKER_01: And we're gonna get down, promise you we're gonna go down and film there.
• 1:24:01
SPEAKER_01: We're nearly geared up for that.
• 1:24:03
SPEAKER_01: I've had a tech, well, I've had a message in off Liam Burton doing a cancer run.
• 1:24:08
  SPEAKER_01: Send us the link.
• 1:24:09
SPEAKER_01: So if you're doing any runs or if you're doing any charity stuff, from now on, send me the link.
• 1:24:14
SPEAKER_01: Send us three in the middle the link on Insta and we'll repost.
• 1:24:17
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:24:17
SPEAKER_01: I think that's the easiest way to do it.
• 1:24:19
SPEAKER_01: But I'll just write up.
• 1:24:20
SPEAKER_01: It's for Cancer Care, Lim Lame's fundraiser for Cancer Care, North Lancashire, and South Cumbria.
• 1:24:26
  SPEAKER_01: Hello, lads.
• 1:24:26
SPEAKER_01: My fat horse is going to run Manchester Marathon in a few weeks of cancer care.
• 1:24:30
SPEAKER_01: I absolutely hate running and training has been hit and miss.
• 1:24:33
SPEAKER_01: But it's an absolutely amazing charity that does great work for a cause that pretty much affects everyone in some way now, with one in two people diagnosed with cancer.
• 1:24:43
SPEAKER_01: Fucking joke, that used to be one in five, six, isn't it?
• 1:24:45
SPEAKER_01: It's going to be hours of hell for me, but hopefully worth the money raise and will be worth it.
• 1:24:50
SPEAKER_01: So, Liam, Cancer Care Fundraiser, send me the link on Insta and I'll repost and I'll put the proper link in.
• 1:24:59
SPEAKER_01: You're gonna have to start with then how to do the proper link, you know, when you repost.
• 1:25:02
SPEAKER_01: We'll show you another day.
• 1:25:03
SPEAKER_01: Today's been a bit tough for you.
• 1:25:05
SPEAKER_01: Well done, Liam, on the cancer run, and let's get behind that.
• 1:25:09
  SPEAKER_01: Good luck, Willem.
• 1:25:10
  SPEAKER_01: Good luck.
• 1:25:11
SPEAKER_01: Second one, we've had another um email from Claire Burgess, who you know the pan disability team?
• 1:25:18
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 1:25:18
SPEAKER_01: She forgot to mention the team.
• 1:25:20
SPEAKER_01: I'm an idiot as I forgot to mention the team that I manage, which is Carlisle Rivas Disability.
• 1:25:26
SPEAKER_01: I know at the end you said you might plug us next week.
• 1:25:29
SPEAKER_01: If you do, we train on Friday, 5.30 to 6.30 at Rickby Park Grass, near the car park to the golf.
• 1:25:37
SPEAKER_01: Mental health, autism, disability 16.
• 1:25:40
SPEAKER_01: Carlisle Rivas Pan Disability Team.
• 1:25:43
SPEAKER_01: So that's Friday, 5.30 to 6.30 at Rickby Park.
• 1:25:47
SPEAKER_01: Try and get down, have a little look.
• 1:25:49
SPEAKER_01: And another big thank you to Brendan Laverick for BL Removals.
• 1:25:53
SPEAKER_01: Um, local business helps you with your move of house, offices, when anything you want.
• 1:25:59
SPEAKER_01: Hopefully, I'll need them soon.
• 1:26:01
SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, thank you very much for all the support we're getting.
• 1:26:04
  SPEAKER_01: It's ridiculous.
• 1:26:05
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's and all the emails we're getting in.
• 1:26:07
SPEAKER_01: And yeah, we're we're hitting some episodes now.
• 1:26:10
SPEAKER_01: And we're just gonna start to step it up a notch.
• 1:26:13
SPEAKER_01: We've got a few guests coming in, we've got some proper footy guests in.
• 1:26:17
SPEAKER_01: We've got tales of other rules within football coming in.
• 1:26:21
SPEAKER_01: So we've got a lot going on.
• 1:26:22
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we're gonna be out on location soon, and we've got the World Cup coming up, so we'll have some fun for the summer.
• 1:26:28
  SPEAKER_01: Playoffs, World Cup.
• 1:26:28
SPEAKER_01: We've got playoffs coming up, business end of the season.
• 1:26:31
SPEAKER_01: Um, and I think that was a quite good debate about the likes of Linny, etc.
• 1:26:36
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, I'd be interested to see his next move.
• 1:26:39
SPEAKER_02: If, like you said, if the worst happened and he didn't in Carl do stay down is his what's his ambition to because I I just can't believe he's never played in the league.
• 1:26:46
SPEAKER_02: From what I've seen of him anyway.
• 1:26:48
SPEAKER_01: And the point I made off air, just quickly the finish.
• 1:26:50
SPEAKER_01: I think a few lads in Carlisle's team probably need them to stay down.
• 1:26:56
  SPEAKER_01: I think they're right.
• 1:26:58
SPEAKER_01: Well, if you're third in the league, that's a successful season, but the league's crap.
• 1:27:02
SPEAKER_01: You get the six hard games, yeah.
• 1:27:04
  SPEAKER_01: It's crap, doesn't it?
• 1:27:05
SPEAKER_00: No, I mean like successful, like well, yeah.
• 1:27:08
  SPEAKER_01: I thought that's the argument.
• 1:27:09
SPEAKER_01: I think only as successful if they go out either.
• 1:27:13
SPEAKER_01: I think that's I think people a lot of people are keeping that frustration, but if we don't go up, it's gonna go to fan on it.
• 1:27:19
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but they'll do it, I think they'll do it.
• 1:27:21
SPEAKER_01: So do you think if they go up then they'll need to invest?
• 1:27:25
SPEAKER_01: But there's loads out of contract, isn't there?
• 1:27:27
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so I don't see many staying.
• 1:27:29
SPEAKER_00: Is there a lot, is there?
• 1:27:30
  SPEAKER_00: Hopefully.
• 1:27:33
SPEAKER_00: But it's one of them ones again.
• 1:27:34
SPEAKER_00: They know they know they're gonna have to push into League Two, do you know what I mean?
• 1:27:38
  SPEAKER_00: And like challenge.
• 1:27:40
SPEAKER_00: Well So the average player you thought you were gonna get for X amount is now two times that.
• 1:27:46
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
• 1:27:47
SPEAKER_01: Because it's the family seem committed still.
• 1:27:49
SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's not gonna be the big books that they've said, but the you learn, it's a learning process, isn't it?
• 1:27:54
SPEAKER_01: You want to be competitive.
• 1:27:56
SPEAKER_00: Well, the volume they put things like uh obviously Gibbons and stuff going and a few.
• 1:28:00
SPEAKER_00: Other things, so yeah, it looks like they'll try to clean up a little bit on forward.
• 1:28:04
SPEAKER_01: And uh th I think Breeze, Ellis, uh Linny, a few in their contract who are decent spy McCarron, I think, will trigger a yeah.
• 1:28:13
SPEAKER_01: Breeze is a Breeze is an interesting one, isn't it?
• 1:28:15
SPEAKER_01: Do you give Gilead another year?
• 1:28:18
SPEAKER_01: I wouldn't have seen enough to be honest.
• 1:28:20
  SPEAKER_01: I don't think you're gonna get better.
• 1:28:22
SPEAKER_01: Really not even as a main starter as well.
• 1:28:25
  SPEAKER_01: I think he'd be good.
• 1:28:25
  SPEAKER_01: Good age.
• 1:28:26
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:28:26
SPEAKER_02: I think they're desperate for a set of half.
• 1:28:29
SPEAKER_02: Two next to Feeney, because uh he must tear his uh his hair up and some of them up.
• 1:28:35
  SPEAKER_01: I think Feeney's got a lot to do.
• 1:28:36
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:28:36
  SPEAKER_01: I think Feeney's got a lot to do.
• 1:28:38
  SPEAKER_01: I like him.
• 1:28:38
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I like him, but I don't think he's res it shouldn't be all his responsibility for the age he is.
• 1:28:44
SPEAKER_01: If you look at his body of work, the young kid at Everton and Sunderland got games here, went to Shrewsby.
• 1:28:50
SPEAKER_01: Fair play one for being that character to be the captain, but I also think he needs a bit of help next to him as well.
• 1:28:56
SPEAKER_01: I think as you just said, he takes a lot on.
• 1:28:57
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he does, yeah.
• 1:28:58
SPEAKER_01: He can go league two, but I I just think I think we need a couple of centre offs, yeah.
• 1:29:04
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, definitely.
• 1:29:05
SPEAKER_00: But but just the breeze one, like there was talk of them maybe getting a move and stuff, wouldn't it?
• 1:29:10
SPEAKER_00: A few bids and stuff.
• 1:29:11
SPEAKER_01: Greg was asking teams to bid for him, wasn't it?
• 1:29:15
SPEAKER_00: But like what obviously if they don't go up or putting it.
• 1:29:20
SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of keepers around though.
• 1:29:21
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:29:22
SPEAKER_00: But like the move they thought he'd maybe gonna get into like a league one team now playing back to back in league uh national league or whatever it was.
• 1:29:28
SPEAKER_01: Do you I mean it's kinda like interesting if he wants to what we spoke about with Lenny, if he wants to crack on?
• 1:29:33
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:29:34
SPEAKER_00: Has he done well enough though?
• 1:29:36
SPEAKER_01: I think his age and his size and how many games his body of work get him a even a League One or even a Prem, just a maybe a project, but because he's probably done better in League Two than he has in the National League, isn't he?
• 1:29:49
SPEAKER_00: Like from I remember like the old talk about him and stuff, like he's pulled off good saves.
• 1:29:53
SPEAKER_00: Now like whenever I talk about him, it's more like I could have come out for that, he's dropped that.
• 1:29:58
SPEAKER_01: Probably because he didn't get much action as well.
• 1:29:59
SPEAKER_01: So he's probably nitpicking a little bit.
• 1:30:01
SPEAKER_00: It's different type of games, probably as well, and I suppose Harry Lewis doing well at Mansfield.
• 1:30:05
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, is he?
• 1:30:05
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:30:06
SPEAKER_01: I've never I thought he wasn't in the team, but I've seen something the other day a clean shit again or something.
• 1:30:10
SPEAKER_02: So just shows you, doesn't it?
• 1:30:11
SPEAKER_00: Ah, change of scenery scenery, and you can teams just don't work, different style of managers and that innit?
• 1:30:17
SPEAKER_00: Environment, as you said, like different people, and they're at a different kind of colour pushing for stuff, do you know?
• 1:30:24
SPEAKER_00: And they're kind of just so much being nice and solid his day-to-day life because he's got his football sorted, way dry as well.
• 1:30:30
  SPEAKER_01: Anyway, right, cheers.
• 1:30:32
  SPEAKER_01: That's us done.
• 1:30:33
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, enjoy your rest of your day, lads.
• 1:30:35
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, enjoy uh whatever you do.
• 1:30:37
  SPEAKER_01: Football.
• 1:30:37
  SPEAKER_01: Football, yeah.
• 1:30:38
SPEAKER_01: You enjoyed your day yesterday.
• 1:30:39
SPEAKER_00: I did, I did, it was good.
• 1:30:40
  SPEAKER_00: It was good.
• 1:30:41
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we bit of husky, ain't it?
• 1:30:42
  SPEAKER_00: The voices.
• 1:30:42
SPEAKER_01: Anything today, you're on with no, no?
• 1:30:44
SPEAKER_00: Well, we've got a kid's party actually this morning after this.
• 1:30:48
  SPEAKER_00: Wolby.
• 1:30:48
  SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
• 1:30:49
  SPEAKER_00: Wolby.
• 1:30:49
SPEAKER_01: So I just had the burn for seven days.
• 1:30:51
  SPEAKER_01: Can it?
• 1:30:53
SPEAKER_01: For everyone listening, we've all got girls, we're screwed.
• 1:30:56
SPEAKER_01: So yeah, we'll uh we'll vet the boyfriends and three in the middle, two years.
• 1:31:03
  SPEAKER_02: Just quick?
• 1:31:04
  SPEAKER_02: Sophia, eh?
• 1:31:05
SPEAKER_02: She's got enough just quick.
• 1:31:06
  SPEAKER_02: Not bad, eh?
• 1:31:10
SPEAKER_02: Do you know what I'm trying to get the bigger?
• 1:31:11
  SPEAKER_02: Dad must be quick.
• 1:31:14
SPEAKER_02: I tried to get her to do every line and back on the pitch.
• 1:31:16
  SPEAKER_02: She congrats it.
• 1:31:17
SPEAKER_02: She's gonna go to six.
• 1:31:18
  SPEAKER_00: Seven?
• 1:31:18
SPEAKER_00: You look good, you know.
• 1:31:20
SPEAKER_00: I just give it six years like that.
• 1:31:21
SPEAKER_00: Well, talk about dads like being easy on their kids and that.
• 1:31:23
SPEAKER_00: You've got to do every line and back at seven.
• 1:31:25
SPEAKER_01: I'm going to stay done, and I'll be there with the side of the game.
• 1:31:29
  SPEAKER_00: Right, cheers.
• 1:31:29
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, wait, cheers, guys.
