  [upbeat rock music] Hey, everybody.
• 0:18
W- welcome to Full Spectrum Cycling, show number 129. Whoa. We're nomadic this week. Sven, Tony, JK- Hello... and James. We're in James'
• 0:35
band practice lair this week. Right. James, AKA Wile E. Coyote. What, uh, what's the official name of the lair? Does it have a, a, a nom de plume or some such? It doesn't have an official, official name.
• 0:48
I'm bouncing around a few things, but the latest, uh, hot idea, since we're in Milwaukee, is a little play off of that, call it Sonic Brew Studios. Oh, that's pretty good. Mm-hmm. 'Cause there were some Coyote, Wile E.
• 1:03
Coyote connotations in a couple of them s- Right... some sorta Space Jams or something, uh- Super Genius Studios There you go, Su- [laughs] Wile E. Coyote, Super Genius. Hey, CEO of ACME Incorporated.
• 1:16
Yeah, that we're inside... I don't know how big this building is. It's- It-... hundreds of thousands of square feet [laughs] though. Yes.
• 1:21
And, uh, James has carved himself out a little spot in here, and there's basically nothing else but a little bit of warehousing going on in here right now. Right. Pretty cool.
• 1:30
There were lots of solar arrays for a while, but most of those are, uh, I think, mostly gone. Panels. Right. Solar panels. But, uh, yeah, so there's a lot of stuff starting to get going in here.
• 1:42
Being next door to Sven over here. Yes. Well, we're in James' lair 'cause he actually has electricity. [laughs] Yes. E electricity.
• 1:49
Which is just a, a minor, a minor detail in doing a, a one of these podcasty things where the coil on the microphone actually moves with electricity. [laughs] Whoa. Oh. [claps hands] I believe.
• 2:02
Oh, yeah, you need that phantom power, huh? Right. No, these are, um, these are dynamic, so no phantom power- Right... required.
• 2:08
No condenser action here, folks, if you're keeping notes at home in your podcast equipment diary. Yes, we're wearing our headgear.
• 2:16
Yeah, we're wearing, uh, what are these, Audio-Technica, some sorta broadcast- Yeah, all of our flair... headphone thingies. [laughs] Yeah. Ceremonial.
• 2:22
We don't have the actual full-on- Sittin' around here with- Studio-... surfs... bras on our heads, man Yeah, right. [laughs] [laughs] Yeah, yeah. It's just- [clears throat]...
• 2:32
I don't know, if you, I guess if you don't use them regularly, it's k- you wanna fiddle with them all the time, and then- I know... you get the- I'm getting used to this.
• 2:38
It's- Then you get kinda the, "Hey, well, how's it going? Oh, a little too close now" or- Right... something like that. Got it. He's the- Remember to regulate. He's approaching [laughs] the second tee.
• 2:46
Look at, he's addressing the ball very, very confidently. Hello, Mr. Ball. [laughs] Hello, I'm Ball Tee. [laughs] What a nice ball you are today. [laughs] Oh, boy. So, uh, Labor Day weekend last week there.
• 2:57
[laughs] Labored. But we did some, uh, we did a, at least a riding, if not more than one riding. Yeah, I made it down to Jackal. [mimics engine roaring] All right. I'm gonna love that Jackal, baby. Yeah.
• 3:08
Summerfest started, uh, on its three-week run, three weekend run last week. In the fall. And the Harley Hog, uh- And it was-... oh... s- ostensibly the Milwaukee rally weekend.
• 3:17
I don't think it was a magical number, like 3,010 or anything like that. Right, right, right. Uh, how ironic, JK, 'cause, and, and 'cause I remember, uh, we had, uh, a, a guest from the UK two years ago.
• 3:33
Almo- almost the exact day, we took a ride on down there and- Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah... we just happened to see, uh, Jackal with, uh, Jesse James Douchepre.
• 3:44
[laughs] [laughs] Yeah, that was when Philip was, uh- The king of misogyny. [laughs] Ride it nice. Yeah. [laughs] Yeah, we could write a song about that. Right.
• 3:50
[laughs] Speaking of songs, that intro song, you know, that's, I think, a... Well, it's definitely, uh, royalty-free, so you could probably riff off that and- Oh, sure...
• 3:57
do us a jam, do a doom version of that or something. Right. We could just kinda replace it since it's been on 129 [laughs] shows so far.
• 4:05
Yeah, we've been doing a little dooming here lately with, uh, Simon's right next to me. He's having fun, uh, reconfiguring his pedal board that makes loud noises. Mm-hmm. True that. Yes.
• 4:15
And Joe over here, he's sitting on his hands 'cause he can't play drums right now. We gotta have a little bit of quiet. Well, he was strumming on the guitar before a little bit. Mm.
• 4:23
Joe was actually on the show a couple weeks ago. Yeah. Yes, he was. Yes, he was. He'll be on the show again. Like us here. We need to finish our conversation about how cycling saved his life. Saved his life.
• 4:30
[laughs] Ah, pa, ah, pish. Pishposh. Pishposh. So besides the Jackal jackassery, we, uh, did Tour de Towner. Ah, yep. Tried to- Missed that...
• 4:41
tried to figure out what number that was on that one, but- I'm feeling like it was 19. Make it to The Brick, or- We rode by The Brick. We didn't actually- Oh... stop into The Brick.
• 4:52
Yeah, it was sort of a traditional route. Lately it's been going north. Yeah, yeah. And- It's-... I mean- One-... it, the normal rou- the normal route was always leave Uptowner, meet at Clutch,
• 5:06
waterfall, take a picture, hang out for a, a minute. Uh, if you brought a beer, drink it. Yes. Yep. And then head right back. And- Oh, yeah. We added- That was...
• 5:14
And then we just were like, "Yeah, let's put some miles on this damn thing. Put a ride into the ride." So made it a little long out to Thirsty Fox, and then over, and then...
• 5:23
Well, then we made it long again, was somebody's idea, going like, "Oh, we should just keep going to Nomad." So we did. Well, we did. [laughs] And then it was like, "Where is everybody? Oh, not yet." Yeah.
• 5:35
Well, then it was like, "Oh, okay, I just kinda wanna go home." But- Do, uh-... I have to, I have to return two Uptowners 'cause I have to make the start and stop. Right, get the ride complete. Yeah. So- Right.
• 5:44
Does, uh, Thirsty Fox- It-... still shoot you if you have a mask? I didn't- Sure... go in the front door. Okay. That's where the sign was. Got it. I don't think it's there anymore. Yeah. It's just one, just in case.
• 5:54
Yeah, it's- No, it didn't seem as, uh... I don't know. Yeah, I don't know. [laughs] Yeah, they tr- [laughs] They weren't as militant about it this time. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 6:04
It, it just- It just, it seemed a little more- Like VFW post like- Gotcha... kinda older- Yeah, right... old-timer type thing, which was fine. Yeah, and they have a nice outside area where it's- Yeah. Yes...
• 6:14
pretty easy to hang out and not be tormented by other individuals. And damn it, Lloyd plying me with all of the 10-year Bulleit. Ooh. Oh. [laughs] That's tasty. Dude, I know. I was just taking baby nips off of it- Oh...
• 6:25
and it was just delicious baby nips. But it- It is pretty smooth stuff. Yes. This is really good. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Oh. Oh, Mr. Tom Bulleit, you're such a wonderful man.
• 6:33
I've got some Belle Meade bourbon over there too, if you guys want to- Ooh. Oh, wow. Also, the house wine of James' Lair is, uh- Kessler... Kessler. [laughs] Smooth as silk, baby. Smooth as silk. Yep.
• 6:45
So you got that- Well, yeah, that was my-... coming through if ever in Milwaukee, I'm pretty sure...
• 6:48
yeah, I remember that was my last year, one of the road trips up through Michigan, it was just like, psh, whatever it was, it was like, "Just take Kessler's at any bar."
• 6:58
And it was just like, "Yep, yep, Kessler's skunk, man." Just, you know. I don't want- My dad's go-to-... I don't wanna overthink this one, and everybody has- And my dad's go-to always- Yep, up north-... Kessler's...
• 7:05
into the UP. [laughs] Yeah, speaking of crazy places that don't like masks and all the- Especially, um, yes... open up, open up the damn buffet bullshit and- [laughs]... when they're- 'Cause Meal Team Six gotta eat...
• 7:15
when they're, when they're, yeah, long [laughs] long, yeah, long, long- Those chair borne rangers gotta have something to complain about. [laughs] Long rifle, long rifle, uh, protest walks down the, uh- Right...
• 7:26
sidewalk that I didn't know was happening until Elsa and I look and I'm like, "Oh, they're walking, and they're armed." [laughs] Oh, wow.
• 7:34
So- I'm gonna go into this consignment shop for no damn reason except I just wanna get out of the stream. [laughs] Yeah, you don't wanna be wearing a white hat out there and running through the woods.
• 7:43
Well, actually, you probably would be, I don't know, i- idolized. [laughs] Like white-tailed deer. Blam. Just wear a red hat, you'll be cool with them. Yeah, right on. Or a white hood. [laughs] Yeah. [laughs] Ooh.
• 7:57
That's dark. What? Too soon? Jesus Christ. [laughs] Have you guys been anywhere for the past five fucking years? [laughs] Right? [laughs] I'm trying to keep it PC. Anybody who knows me, uh, knows I'm a raging socialist.
• 8:10
Yeah, yeah. I was, I was- And I was very active v- of, and vocal, uh, um, yeah, activist. I was taking the hit. [laughs] True that. Yeah, so, uh, I thought Tour de Towner went pretty well. Yeah. Just, you know. Cool.
• 8:23
I mean, it came out- 20-ish miles-ish. Yeah... or, or something like that.
• 8:26
From, from how we built in more time and mi- and miles on it, and definitely time, 'cause it felt like it was almost like 12 hours from [laughs] the time we left to the time we returned.
• 8:37
It may, it actually may have been 12 hours. It was close. It was close. 'Cause it was like, well, technically 10:00 AM rollout sharp, which turned out to be 10:30, but.
• 8:45
Well, starting and ending at, at the Towner, um, kinda puts you at a time warp, too. Yeah. Mm-hmm, hmm. Yeah. And I was in no rush to get back there, um, because I know the bar's gonna be there and I'm...
• 8:57
Yes, they do have things if you get back early. [laughs] And stuff. I'll just leave it like that. [laughs] Not celebrating, but just commenting. Well, they have special rooms for that. [laughs] Yeah. Hey, hey, hey.
• 9:14
Forgot my quarters, damn it. [laughs] So yeah, so that, that, that was that ride. Uh, didn't do much else on Labor Day per se, except labor at the new place a little bit. Too.
• 9:26
And I had- Oh yeah, you labored on your place, too. Tony passed, Tony passed structural, what, yesterday? Oh, right. Structural- Oh, a couple days ago... I had structural, plumbing, and elect- and gas done.
• 9:37
Electric's the last one. Oh. Good stuff, Maynard. I'm gonna get in there- Allegedly I had something to do with that, but. Yeah. Allegedly.
• 9:44
[laughs] I finally put- And just, just in case Strongman Sam is listening, the running joke has always been like Christmas 2028 or- [laughs]... Christmas, you know, I could actually fucking be Christmas 2021.
• 9:57
[laughs] Speaking of Strongman Sam- It's that scary... they're at the Black Husky having a strongman competition. Next weekend, right? Uh, the 25th. 25th. 25th. Yeah. Yeah, so there's that.
• 10:08
Uh, he's, he's, he's not, he's not competing. It's more of an amateur thing. He's ju- But it is-... judging... it is a strongman, um- And training. They've been doing some training...
• 10:16
certified or, or whatever they call it. Yeah, some- They need sanctioned. Sanctioned. There you go. That's a good word for that. The tire is 575 pounds.
• 10:25
Why don't they just roll the thing instead of flipping it- And they, right, right... like they do? I mean, if you get it rolling- They're doing it the hard way... it'll do the work for you.
• 10:31
'Cause they're strong, not smart. [laughs] Oh. Oh. Oh. [laughs] Um, uh- They have, uh, they have, uh, stones that go like 95 pounds up to I think like 275. Uh, I think they go a little higher than that.
• 10:44
They go higher than 275? Oh, yeah. He brought up three and a quarter? Oh, yeah. For real strongman. The Highland Games stuff- Well, no, but I mean, for the-... for real. Real strongman.
• 10:50
What's at Tim's shop right now I think is the highest. Maybe it's bigger. Probably. Could be 275. All right, I'm gonna push a button over here, folks. Folks, I'm pushing a button right now.
• 11:00
Hey, welcome to the radio program, caller. Who do we have on the line? How y'all doing? It's Big Sexy. What up, Sexy? Hi, Sexy. How are you? BS.
• 11:11
Have you been working on that, uh, have you been working on that introduction on your ride around the country? No, not at all. It, it, it, it just came right out of me right, right then. Nice.
• 11:22
Where in the world is Big Sexy? Well, in the world, uh, Big Sexy is in the southwest suburbs of Minneapolis, and I'm heading, I'm heading south now. Nice.
• 11:37
I'm going, uh, I'm, I'm going to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It's 'cause I wanna hit a South Dakota Shack like, oh, yep, my bike's been to South Dakota, by the way.
• 11:48
And, uh, and then I'm going, uh, I'm doing the capitals on the way down. Right on. Wow. Oh, yeah. And it's gonna be great. Uh, man, have I been, uh, have I been seeing y'all's faces. Hallelujah, brother. Oh, my God.
• 12:05
I need to go live in River West. [laughs]And then, and then my b- my brother said, "Oh, oh, well how, how long, how long would you, could you stay in W- River West before I would get sick of you?"
• 12:19
I'm like, "Yeah, a couple weeks." [laughs] Hey, James is actually on the show tonight, BS, so, uh- Yep... you can say hey to your, to your host for the week you were here. Right. And the couch that, uh- Oh, yeah...
• 12:31
you were crashing on is, uh, right at the shop where a couple of us are sitting on it right now. Oh. My ass is where your face was. [laughs] 99 is- Oh. Jimmy's in the house? Yes, Jimmy's in the house.
• 12:43
Jimmy- There's gotta be a better way to phrase that, but that just kinda spilled out nicely. Oh. [laughs] No, no. Yeah, no, it's, it's great. Uh, I, I, I literally... I was yelling at my brother,
• 12:58
"There's guys in Milwaukee that even know me, and they took better care of me than you did." [laughs] And he's like, he's like, "That's because they don't know you." [laughs] Gotcha.
• 13:11
Well, he's known you all your life, so I, yeah, we- Yeah, I know. We're fine... we, we still have a shorter, uh, window of experience, but I'm sure it would take a much larger- Oh, yeah...
• 13:22
window of experience to get tired of it. But, but, but the thing about it, my b- my brother, my brother's been putting up with me for 41 years,
• 13:31
and, and y'all, y'all have known me, y'all have known me for a couple of years. Right. It's like, yeah, that, that, that doesn't even, nope, that really doesn't.
• 13:41
[laughs] But look, but look, here's what, here's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna go to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I'm gonna go to Sioux City, Iowa. I'm gonna go to Lincoln, Nebraska. I'm gonna go to Topeka, Kansas.
• 13:54
I'm gonna get drunk with my uncle in Kansas City, and then, uh, keep on going down to New Orleans, and I... Man, I love you guys so much.
• 14:06
Are you gonna hit Little Rock on the way down, or is- I already got Little Rock on the way up last year. Are you gonna have power down in New Orleans by the time you get there?
• 14:18
What, by the time I get there, everything should be fine. Well, yeah. See? It's all about number one, baby. I, I know what I'm doing. [laughs] No, I, I know what I'm doing. I...
• 14:28
That storm, the, the girl- the girl storms, Ida, Ida fucked them up. [laughs] The guy, the guy storms, like Ivan and, uh, and, and, and, you know, we can go back, these are messed. Look at this team.
• 14:46
A ma- a male storm has not messed up New Orleans. It's all the g- the girl storms. It's all the girl storms. Oh, yeah. I, I dated, uh, Katrina once.
• 15:01
[laughs] Oh. No, I'll tell, I'll tell you what, man. It, uh, I had a wonderful visit in the Twin Cities metro area, and now, I'm, I'm more in the outskirts now, and I'm, I'm h- I'm heading south.
• 15:18
I'm, I, I, I'm just gonna keep on going because I'll document it along the way, as well as the state capitals, of course. You know, you remember I am collecting state capitals. You are, for sure. Oh. All right, man.
• 15:32
Well, we're gonna get- So, um-... we're gonna get rolling on here, dude. Um, catch up with us in a couple- Yeah... of weeks. Yeah, pop me a message, brother. Yeah. Love you, guys. Thank you so much.
• 15:41
I, I tell the story about how it's treated like royalty in River West. I, I promise you, I'll be back again. I, I felt like I, I should probably really just spend the winter there, but I'm like, "Nah, nah."
• 15:54
[laughs] "Let's just keep on going south." Good to hear from you. [laughs] Later, man. Be safe. Bye. All right, all right. And- Stay easy out... we bid farewell to Big Sexy. The BS. Mm-hmm.
• 16:06
It sounds like he spent some time up there in Minneapolis. Don't know if he... Did he, did he catch a COVID cough up there? The Little Apple? [laughs] Hope not. No, I hope not, for sure.
• 16:18
Uh, well, that's kinda hard to get rolling after Big Sexy. Yeah. What are we- For sure. I mean- I don't know what else we-... what's going on this weekend? Hey, speaking of rolling, here we got a segue. Do you hear that?
• 16:25
That's a segue. Ba-boom. It's, uh, it's coming up on, on the Slow Roll. The Chris Kegel Foundation Slow Roll is gonna happen- Oh, yeah... on the 26th, I think. Sunday, the 26th.
• 16:37
Uh, there are a couple different options for how to do it because everybody doesn't know what's going on yet. But if you go to their Chris Kegel Foundation website, there is a ride with GPS map
• 16:49
of the route, which will mostly be along Milwaukee's scenic lakefront- [laughs]... and east side from, from the, uh, art museum all the way back down that way, so. Back to Kegels Inn. Kegels Inn at the lakefront.
• 17:02
Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. I forgot about that. Lakefront Biergarten down there. Gotcha, gotcha. Yeah. Summer Festival have happened and been done by then, so it should- And speaking of ride with GPS, I...
• 17:15
[laughs] So when I mapped out the Steel Is Real, I did the premium- Oh, okay... and whatever. And then I was like, "Note to self, cancel- [laughs]... the premium before the whatever."
• 17:29
And sure as shit, it was like the- You weren't for a year. No. Well, that was the thing. I was like, "Wait, I thought I had, like, of all the day to take care of this."
• 17:39
And I don't know, I just shot them their contact, you know, and emailed them. I'm like, "Dude, I really don't want this. I mean, I'd like to come back, but, I mean, I thought I had all day."
• 17:49
And they, they refunded my, my shit- What nice people... like within a couple days. You know, so I'll go back at some point. I just- For another free trial?
• 17:57
No, no, I would do- [laughs] I would, I, I would actually do it. I mean, it's like 80 bucks a year. I mean, it wasn't like- Oh, that's not too bad.
• 18:02
It, it wouldn't have been the worst- Not if you're actively using it to plan things and do it all the time and- Yeah...
• 18:06
you know, whatnot, it- As long as they could get their, that max speed thing locked in because every so often, man It's like max speed is 44.8, and I'm like, "I'd love it if I did that," but I know I didn't And it's, you don't even drive a car.
• 18:19
[laughs] No shit. [laughs] Yeah. You know, you get towards those little weird da- data suck hubs, like right- Right...
• 18:25
downtown or those thoroughfares on North Avenue where it's like, bloop, and all of a sudden you're like in the middle of fricking Lake Michigan if you're looking at your map. It's like, "Uh, no, no."
• 18:34
Pretty sure I hit the 44.8 at one point- [laughs]... when I was using MapMyRide. Yeah. Going, uh- Most of them do... downhill- Even Strava does it... to the Mississippi River- Oh, sure... outside of Potosi.
• 18:42
Strava kept me- So, uh, way the hell up there... yeah, I did that After being at Potosi Brewery, it was an interesting, uh, nice switchback.
• 18:49
Sometimes a few gravelly spots on the turns, but it got speedy, and even on a fat. [laughs] Yeah, for sure. You can get rolling over there. And self-servingly, I had a great birthday yesterday. Happy birthday to you.
• 19:05
Happy birthday. Yesterday. Happy birthday. Which will be tomorrow for us. Which will be tomorrow in the real- [laughs]... the talking [laughs] terrestrial world. But in what you're hearing, it was a great day.
• 19:15
Not terribly hungover either. Oh. Well- My dog. Good on you, mate. Yeah. Well, that's what happens when you have to help your mother rent her townhouse property.
• 19:24
Oh, well [laughs] so that's- And help out on that on, on- It's been good for your health. Uh, yeah, exactly. Oh, by the way, yes, Facebook, uh, Marketplace is interesting when it comes to something of that nature.
• 19:36
Mm-hmm. It's a hell of a lot easier than a want ad or- Can't just do Zillow and get it out of the way, have somebody- [sighs] Don't do Zillow... professional do it? No. I don't know. My, my, my, my mom's old school.
• 19:45
She wants to get, uh, down and dirty with the, whoever the humans are and whatever, so. Makes sense to me, because if you're- Is she selling it or renting it? Renting it. Oh, okay. So what I have to do- Yeah...
• 19:52
what I'm doing is they're, uh, you know, it says call this number, and then they're always wanting to go through Messenger on me, and it's like, pivot. You know, "Is it still available?" "Yes, it is.
• 20:03
Please call this number to discuss and set up a time." If, if you're not following the instructions, you're probably not the right person to rent the place. Exactly. Exactly. Exactly.
• 20:10
So yes, that's what- Oh- That's what, that's what my-... what time are you doing over these? That's what my Labor Day was Throw the place for [laughs] My Labor Day, that was my labor of the Labor Day. Ah.
• 20:18
I was, I was like- That sounds laboring... my, my newfound job as a fricking real estate agent, traffic cop. Rental manager. Bullshit. Prop- property manager. Oh. There you go. No.
• 20:27
I did, I did that in our Fair River West neighborhood- Not my jam... for a couple years. I would say- Not my jam... it's not, shouldn't really be anybody's jam. [laughs] No.
• 20:33
It's kinda s- Uh, yeah, if you, if you enjoy that, shit, you're a singular f- human being. [laughs] Right. I did, I did it on the north side. I, I don't feel like- Oh, no, no, no, you're not doing that...
• 20:41
I don't feel any pain anymore. [laughs] Yeah. Yeah, this is southwest suburb whatever, which is also its own animal of weirdness down there, but, ooh. Yeah, these stories are why I'm selling my duplex. Yeah, maybe. Well.
• 20:55
You got a good tenant, though. But apparently, over- I've had a bad tenant... 1,129 views since Monday. It's hard to get a place these days, so I, I'm not surprised. Yeah. Yeah.
• 21:06
So if you know me, you can go to my Facebook. [laughs] So last, uh, I think it was, I think it was last, was it last week's show, basically when the show was on last week, on Friday, we delivered that electric handtrike-
• 21:22
Oh, was that-... to the guy... yeah. Was he stoked?
• 21:25
Well, he wasn't initially stoked at all, because I, I knew that your ha- your arms are not gonna put out the power your legs do, so we kinda started out from a leg perspective, and the system is very tunable, and to be fair- To be fair...
• 21:42
I am still, of the one million different settings on it, learning which ones are the most applicable. Right, right.
• 21:48
But the one in this case that was the most applicable from the torque sensing bottom bracket was the amount of power you put in as a human at one watt is multiplied by how much additional power. Right.
• 22:03
So for legs, it would normally be two times or four times or something like that, 'cause your legs are pretty powerful.
• 22:08
We had to get up into the 20, 25 watts per watt put in for his arms, 'cause he's, the reason he did this is he's had this thing for 23 years,
• 22:18
and he's getting a little bit older and doesn't put out as much power anymore, and wanted- He's probably 23 years older. 23. What's that? He's probably 23 years older. The bike itself is 23 years older.
• 22:28
So he's also probably 23 years older. Right. He has gained 23 years. Not on the bike. Mm-hmm. He's still pretty par for the course with that. Right, right.
• 22:35
But at the end of it, we had him rocking right along and he was very happy with it, so I don't think I would do another conversion, 'cause this one required
• 22:44
making the fork wider, adding a disc brake mount, a whole bunch of other stuff that was fabrication that made it a really time-consuming project that ended up not really making much money, or any at all.
• 22:56
[laughs] But there is an existing bike that I would like to use to try this again that is a new product- Mm... and we could do this, so we'll see. He's got some friends.
• 23:06
Maybe we'll, we'll figure out something for those guys. Mm-hmm. To the state clunkers. State clunkers are coming. Clunkers. They're actually supposed to be here Monday from the, uh,
• 23:18
from the Federal, Federal Express people. Wow. How many did you get again? Well, five. Oh. If I, if I don't keep one. [laughs] Four. I have a hard time giving bikes up.
• 23:29
No, I think, um, because I got the Handsome from, uh, Mr. Ziegel, I don't know that I absolutely need a state clunker anymore. They're sort of the same basic animal. Right.
• 23:40
They're in the same zone of what you would use them for, so. Uh, so yeah, no, hit us up. We, we've got five. The black one, it's nice. It's $420.69. Nice. Ooh, that's hilarious. Right?
• 23:55
Plus applicable tax in our area. So yeah, got five of those coming. And, uh, call, call f- call 414-585-0366 and make an appointment to check one out. Should we keep talking bike stuff or should we talk- Bikes.
• 24:13
Okay, wait. But can we talk about Robot Chicken real quick? Roobits? It's on HBO Max now. Oh, it's James can't talk 'cause he was fucking with his headset. [laughs] Oh, he's back.
• 24:24
[laughs] Had to take it off for a second. Aw, man. I'll talk Robot Chicken all day. Buckle, buckle. Yeah, well it's on HBO Max, all 11 seasons. Yes. I did not know it was on there.
• 24:32
I thought it, it's either been recently re, um, featured or it is new to HBO Max, 'cause he just had to find it somewhere else. Yeah, they joined in on, like, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, all that. Right.
• 24:45
So it's, it's a hub you can get... And also, uh, Hannah Barbera, all the classic Looney Tunes cartoons. Oh, nice, nice. So there's all different hubs for it.
• 24:54
You can get all that stuff you wanted to watch, including Wile E. Coyote. [gasps] Super genius. [laughs] Could it be from the Acme Company? CEO of Acme Company. Yeah, but aren't those a bunch of racist jokes? I d- I...
• 25:09
Wow. [clears throat] No, that's, that's Disney Plus. You didn't really- No, lots of, lots of the older ones, they're like- There they do go... they're, they're sort of like- Oh, they, they... Yeah, they-...
• 25:15
oh, we're not gonna, we're not gonna show those anymore. Yeah. Yeah. You, you're not gonna get Song of the South on Disney Plus. I was gonna say, the, the, the Wile E.
• 25:23
Coyote and Roadrunner is like- Zippity doo dah, zippity yay. All there was was sound effects and, uh, the Roadrunner said, "Meep meep." Bip bip. Bang. [laughs] [imitates tires screeching] Meep meep. The...
• 25:35
Let's just discuss the best episode.
• 25:38
It's where they light, he lights all of the darts and launches them from the balloon, and throughout the entire next, entire episode, whatever he is about to do, one of these darts hits him and blows him up.
• 25:52
It's like, I have never seen a funnier cartoon, let alone a Wile E. Coyote cartoon. Right. Super- He was, he was a comic genius... genius. I like that. I like the Robot Chicken Star Wars episode. Oh, yes.
• 26:07
That's kind of a classic. [clears throat] Yeah, with the, at the hairdresser. "Oh, look at what's going on here. Okay, last time we talked we were so excited about your Death Star." [laughs] "How is that going?"
• 26:17
[laughs] Love that one. [laughs] Yeah, 'cause it, it, those, those Star Wars episodes that- [clears throat]...
• 26:25
there's always a somewhat hidden or a completely hidden Easter egg of Spaceballs and all the parodies and- [laughs] Oh, for sure. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
• 26:35
Uh, last weekend we had on, uh, Brent from, from the Bicycle Film Festival. That actually starts today. Yeah, I actually...
• 26:44
Well, I went to an ATM that was right across from one of the sponsors, the Yellow Wood, Yellow- Yeah. Yeah... Yellow Foot- Apparently, apparently so... or something. I can't remember. There are links in the show notes.
• 26:53
And, and I bought a ticket so we can screen it. Nice. There is one definitely that's Riverwest '24 centric. Oh, yeah. It's about a lady, a fashion designer that's in the 24 something something.
• 27:04
I don't know much about it until we see the show, but it's 90 minutes of short films about cycling and- Yeah... it goes from the 10th of September- You know this-... to the 19th... I think you know this person, though.
• 27:14
Probably. It's like the flicks from, uh, New- I could look at the thing... New Belgium when they used to come to Milwaukee. Do you know where? Yeah. Who, uh- Like Tour de Fat, when that used to come to Milwaukee. Flicks.
• 27:24
Sorry? And the flicks. Flicks. And that- Flicks and, uh- When that used to come to Milwaukee too. Yeah. They totally... You know what? I- Did you wrong them?... I even complained. I think you wronged them.
• 27:34
No, I mean- I kept, I complained when I kept getting- [laughs] It's all because of your toning. I need somebody. [laughs] I kept, I kept getting their- This is a...
• 27:39
We're in a world that we have to blame people, so I'm blaming you. [laughs] I kept getting their promotional emails and I, and I...
• 27:46
or Facebook posts and I responded, "You guys aren't coming back to Milwaukee, so I'm kinda pissed." And they're like, "That's not us, that's... We're the marketing department."
• 27:54
I'm like, "No, you guys scheduled it during the Riverwest '24 three years in a row. Basically, you fucked up." Yep.
• 28:02
Because if there's a cycling event in Riverwest, in Milwaukee over the weekend of the Riverwest '24, it's going to take second fiddle to the Riverwest '24. That's just what you have to deal with. Yeah.
• 28:15
Yeah, 'cause when it, when it was- Yeah... down at Humboldt Park, I mean, it was attended. Yeah. But- It was not a celebration. Right. But that is also where Lunds ate it on the little stationary bike thing.
• 28:30
That was, that w- was that a bicycle film festival? I think that was a- That was Tour de Fat. That was more- That was Tour de Fat. Yeah, that's a Tour de Fat. That was a Tour de Fat. Not a bicycle film festival thing.
• 28:37
But- Same thing... but it was still, but still New Belgium. But bicycle film festival has nothing to do with New Belgium. No. No, no, no. But it, in, in s- yes. All right. You're correct. Yeah. I'm just- Yeah. Great...
• 28:48
we're gushing about the old one. [laughs] But that was a great one- Right. Right... 'cause that video comes up- Right... and it's like, "Where's my shed? Where's my damn beer?" Right. [laughs] Crazy stuff.
• 28:58
Never s- trust some jackass with green hair and a green bike. [laughs] Man, man- Don't ever follow him on a ride. [laughs] Man, I have green, I have, I have green pedals. I have to, that I, I totally have barter. Right.
• 29:11
I've got, I've got a carrot and I have, I've got that carrot on a stick, so. Oh, I knew what you were doing. Oh, yeah. I was gonna do the same. Yeah. I just needed a set of pedals. [laughs] I know.
• 29:20
I mean, I was like, "Eh, I, I could use a set of pedals, but- Yeah... I may need some welding of something." All right, everyone, uh- Did it again... I guess we kinda did it again.
• 29:32
And, uh, thanks to James for letting us use- Whoops... his, uh, spacious lair. Yeah, you're welcome. You know I'll see you again. I'm gonna go make some, gonna make a little noise now.
• 29:40
Yeah, we're gonna g- get kinda- Why does he know this?... noisy and doomy for a minute, I think. Sounds good. All right, everybody. I have my sleep socks on. Oh, there you go. Hey. See those guys again.
• 29:49
I know there's spiders here, you know. They're serious today. There's a Clutch Cavalry 414 banner right there. [laughs] All right, folks, thanks again. Come back next time. Probably do a better job. Au revoir. Or not.
