Was I wanting AI results in my google search? No. But, they cram it down your eyeballs right at pole position on the search results page so that it's easier to go with the friction free route and just use it. Then you find out everything it told you was bullshit, and you probably used a few hundred watts of power in a neighborhood adjacent data center to generate that bullshit, becoming an unwitting accessory to someone's data center environmental misery.
