- 0:50Speaker 2: You know, one of the questions I had, I asked
- 0:52Speaker 2: Adam this before. He didn't know, but I thought maybe
- 0:54Speaker 2: i'd ask it for you. You know a lot of
- 0:56Speaker 2: people have been on Kevin Batulo about his Plates nine
- 1:00Speaker 2: and different things like that, and I was curious if
- 1:03Speaker 2: you have an idea of how many plays are actually
- 1:07Speaker 2: in the playbook, like in an NFL team where specifically
- 1:11Speaker 2: about the Eagles, Like, do the Eagles have a much
- 1:14Speaker 2: broader playbook than we typically see? I mean, obviously they
- 1:17Speaker 2: gain plan and there' certain things they want to do
- 1:18Speaker 2: certain days, but like by this point in the season.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Have we seen ninety five percent of what they have
- 1:24Speaker 2: in the playbook or have we seen twenty percent of them?
- 1:28Speaker 3: Well, I've seen playbooks, and I can't speak for every coach.
- 1:32Speaker 3: There are some coaches that were notorious for just having
- 1:35Speaker 3: a million plays, like Mike Martz. You know, I would
- 1:38Speaker 3: have a playbook that was the size of a telephone
- 1:40Speaker 3: book and there'd be three hundred and fifty plays. And
- 1:43Speaker 3: obviously you're not even going over three hundred and fifty
- 1:45Speaker 3: plays in a week. The way it works for the
- 1:50Speaker 3: most part, Chris is in a given situation, there's a
- 1:55Speaker 3: certain number of plays that you've practiced all week. So
- 1:59Speaker 3: let's say it's third and eight, which is third and long.
- 2:03Speaker 3: The coach is not choosing from thirty plays because during
- 2:07Speaker 3: the week against the defense you're playing against, you've worked
- 2:10Speaker 3: on and it's not plays as much as concepts. So
- 2:15Speaker 3: he's choosing from five or six concepts that you've practiced
- 2:19Speaker 3: all week, and it's just a matter of the personnel
- 2:23Speaker 3: and the formation that gets to the concept. I'm really
- 2:26Speaker 3: impressed with Jeallex Hunt and yeah this year, can you
- 2:31Speaker 3: talk a little bit about his development because he looks
- 2:35Speaker 3: tremendous Yeah, you're starting to see the athleticism really come
- 2:38Speaker 3: out Lawren, because you know, he's a super athlete. He's
- 2:42Speaker 3: got tremendous size and length. I was saying to Jeff
- 2:45Speaker 3: that I think after this year, with another offseason, that
- 2:50Speaker 3: he's going to come in next year and really be
- 2:52Speaker 3: a very strong edge pass rusher. In addition to the
- 2:54Speaker 3: fact that he plays the run well and he's a
- 2:56Speaker 3: great athlete. I think I think you're really seeing improvement
- 3:00Speaker 3: in his game. It's very noticeable. You can see, you know,
- 3:03Speaker 3: even when he got the sack, which was just a
- 3:05Speaker 3: well designed to stunt, you know, when he obviously was
- 3:07Speaker 3: clean to the quarterback, but you could see the bend,
- 3:09Speaker 3: the flexibility of the closing burst. You know, he's I
- 3:13Speaker 3: think he's just going to get better and better, and
- 3:15Speaker 3: it's really impressive to see. I know another coach in
- 3:18Speaker 3: the league that loved him and which wished his team
- 3:21Speaker 3: had drafted him, and they were going to it, but
- 3:22Speaker 3: then the Eagles took him, you know, because you just
- 3:25Speaker 3: saw you saw the potential there, you saw what he
- 3:28Speaker 3: could become. And I agree with you. I think he's
- 3:30Speaker 3: going to really be a good player going forward.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Hey, it's that time of the year that everyone's trying
- 3:35Speaker 1: to clean up their habits, and that includes me. Honestly,

- 6:53Speaker 4: made for Philly fans. Twenty one and up.
- 6:55Speaker 1: I read your.
- 6:56Speaker 6: Tape notes, which I found to be very insightful as always,
- 7:00Speaker 6: and I kind of got a theme out of them
- 7:02Speaker 6: when you're talking about the Bills offense versus the Eagles defense,
- 7:06Speaker 6: and this was obviously a great game.
- 7:07Speaker 5: We'd all agree that Eagles defense played great. And so
- 7:10Speaker 5: two questions is one from your notes, it sounded like
- 7:13Speaker 5: from your comments that Allen had a really rough game
- 7:17Speaker 5: and a lot of a lot of his ball placement
- 7:19Speaker 5: was off and he obviously missed.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Guys and that.
- 7:22Speaker 7: So just what what did you think was that more
- 7:24Speaker 7: him or was that the Eagles forcing him that way?
- 7:27Speaker 3: Well, a couple of things. There's a lot that goes
- 7:29Speaker 3: into that. I'll try to keep it short so more
- 7:31Speaker 3: people can talk. The Bills are another team that don't
- 7:34Speaker 3: have a really advanced pass game in terms of the concepts.
- 7:40Speaker 3: And I don't think Allan's had a great year by
- 7:42Speaker 3: the way. You know, he's so gifted that he can
- 7:45Speaker 3: still do things in any given game where you go wow,
- 7:48Speaker 3: but just an overall, you know, playing the quarterback position,
- 7:52Speaker 3: I don't think he's had a great year.
- 7:56Speaker 2: You know.
- 7:57Speaker 3: The one that was glaring to me was what should
- 7:59Speaker 3: have been a while can touch down to Shakir on
- 8:01Speaker 3: the drive where they stopped him at the half yard
- 8:03Speaker 3: line when Bond made the play, if he had put
- 8:05Speaker 3: the ball where it should have been out in front
- 8:07Speaker 3: of Shakir, that's a walk in touchdown. And we might
- 8:09Speaker 3: be having a different conversation about this game. But yeah,
- 8:14Speaker 3: I think that there's too many times where he turns
- 8:17Speaker 3: down throws that I believe should be again, I believe
- 8:20Speaker 3: they should be made. I'm not going to sit here
- 8:21Speaker 3: and say, yeah, they should be made. I know a
- 8:23Speaker 3: thousand percent. But you know, I watch the Bills every
- 8:25Speaker 3: week because I do one Bills live every week up
- 8:28Speaker 3: in Buffalo, and so I've watched the Bills for ten years,
- 8:32Speaker 3: every single play. So I'm very familiar with Josh Allen.
- 8:35Speaker 3: I studied him in great detail coming out of college.
- 8:39Speaker 3: You know, I think that he's special, but at times inconsistent,
- 8:45Speaker 3: and there's a part of him that always goes into
- 8:49Speaker 3: the playmaking dimension and you may never be able to
- 8:52Speaker 3: get that out of him, you know, And there are
- 8:54Speaker 3: games where that just freaking works. And we talk about Superman,
- 8:59Speaker 3: but there's other games where it doesn't work for whatever reason,
- 9:03Speaker 3: and you know they don't. They haven't scored this year.
- 9:06Speaker 3: They've had games where they haven't scored twenty points this year,
- 9:09Speaker 3: which has not happened in the last number of years.
- 9:12Speaker 3: And you know, I think that, you know he in
- 9:18Speaker 3: some ways sometimes I think he needs to settle down
- 9:21Speaker 3: and let the offense work and trust the process. I
- 9:24Speaker 3: don't think it's a great process, but I think when
- 9:26Speaker 3: you're the quarterback, you got to trust the process well.
- 9:29Speaker 4: And then he's like with Craig, But Greg, I have
- 9:31Speaker 4: got Brandon fifty five year old Brandon Cooks and Turell's save, and.
- 9:38Speaker 3: I'm glad Jeff brought that up. Just to finish up
- 9:40Speaker 3: real quick. They don't have receivers who can really win
- 9:43Speaker 3: one on one, and that limits what you can do.
- 9:46Speaker 3: But now that means you have to be much more
- 9:48Speaker 3: schematically great, and I don't see that in their offense.
- 9:53Speaker 3: But they can't just line up and win one on one.
- 9:55Speaker 3: They don't have those guys.
- 9:57Speaker 7: And just quick, Greg, you had mentioned when you're talking
- 9:59Speaker 7: to that you know, you watch the Eagles tape and
- 10:01Speaker 7: then you watch the Miners Bears tape and just you know,
- 10:04Speaker 7: looking at the difference and then the offenses when you
- 10:06Speaker 7: watch again, the Eagles defense has been tremendous this year.
- 10:10Speaker 7: But when you watch other teams, i e. Houston or Seattle,
- 10:14Speaker 7: how do you feel the Eagles defense is compared to
- 10:17Speaker 7: some of these other top defenses?
- 10:18Speaker 3: Within them?
- 10:19Speaker 7: Yet?
- 10:19Speaker 3: Oh they're right there?
- 10:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:21Speaker 3: I mean Eagles defense over the last eight weeks is
- 10:23Speaker 3: in terms of points allowed, it's the best in the league.
- 10:26Speaker 3: You know. Look, I think ultimately what the Eagles are
- 10:30Speaker 3: and I think most people would agree with this even
- 10:32Speaker 3: in the league, is what the Eagles have to be
- 10:35Speaker 3: is they've got to be a great defense, a great
- 10:37Speaker 3: running game, and a quarterback that manages the game and
- 10:40Speaker 3: doesn't turn it over and can make some plays here
- 10:43Speaker 3: and there at critical moments. They're not going to be
- 10:46Speaker 3: a passing team. Don't think of them like you know,
- 10:48Speaker 3: Rock Purdy or Caleb Williams. They're not that, you know,
- 10:52Speaker 3: That's how they won the Super Bowl last year. I
- 10:54Speaker 3: mean they're a running team. They've had a great defense.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Hurtz never turned it over and he made some plays
- 11:00Speaker 3: and critical moments. That's who they have to be. That's
- 11:03Speaker 3: who they are, you know, so, but their defense is
- 11:07Speaker 3: really good. I think Houston has better personnel top to bottom.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Seattle's really good. They're personnel is really good too. But
- 11:20Speaker 3: you know, the Eagles are right there. They're really good defense.
- 11:23Speaker 3: When Jalen Carter is healthy, they're really good defense. I
- 11:27Speaker 3: feel like, although although I think this year that the
- 11:30Speaker 3: best de tackle in the NFL is Jeffrey Simmons.
- 11:34Speaker 4: I feel like if the Texans could average twenty four
- 11:36Speaker 4: points a game in the playoffs, they might be in
- 11:37Speaker 4: the super Bowl. But I don't know if they can
- 11:39Speaker 4: average twenty four points a game, all right, right, yeah?
- 11:43Speaker 3: Go ahead?
- 11:43Speaker 4: No, no, no, god, Greg, go ahead.
- 11:45Speaker 3: I was gonna say watching that game, and I haven't
- 11:47Speaker 3: seen the tape yet. I'm gonna do that tomorrow. But
- 11:49Speaker 3: I watched that game, you know, all of it on Saturday,
- 11:51Speaker 3: from you know, every play on TV. I started to
- 11:54Speaker 3: think to myself, is this the kind of defense? They're
- 11:57Speaker 3: not the eighty five Bears. I don't think they're the
- 11:59Speaker 3: two thousand, But are they good enough to be so
- 12:02Speaker 3: dominant that they can win a game just with their defense?
- 12:05Speaker 8: You were just talking about Eagles want to be a
- 12:07Speaker 8: running team and if you had told me at the
- 12:09Speaker 8: beginning of the season I was going to ask you
- 12:10Speaker 8: this question in week seventeen, I would have probably said
- 12:14Speaker 8: an asteroid must have hit link in financial field. But
- 12:17Speaker 8: would Brett Tolt be a better option at center right
- 12:20Speaker 8: now than Cam Jurgons From what you've seen on tape
- 12:22Speaker 8: from both well.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Cam Durgons has not had a very good year. I
- 12:27Speaker 3: don't know the Eagles feeling about the number two seed
- 12:29Speaker 3: versus the number three seed, but there's a part of
- 12:32Speaker 3: me that thinks watching the tape that it would be
- 12:34Speaker 3: a damn good idea to sit Jurgons and Diggerson this week.
- 12:37Speaker 3: And with these guys they.
- 12:40Speaker 4: Are I mean everything that we're hearing. Plus they literally
- 12:44Speaker 4: released their long snapper today just to clear a spot
- 12:47Speaker 4: on the fifty three. You wouldn't do that unless you
- 12:49Speaker 4: were going to elevate him from the practice squad and
- 12:51Speaker 4: then use someone who's out of elevation from your practice
- 12:54Speaker 4: squad to get him onto the fifty three to just
- 12:56Speaker 4: to be able to play in the game, like Andrew
- 12:58Speaker 4: Sam So why else would you do that unless we
- 13:01Speaker 4: were preparing to play a bunch of backups, is my
- 13:03Speaker 4: thought on it.
- 13:05Speaker 3: So but that's my thought, Frank, I mean, you know, Jurgens,
- 13:09Speaker 3: say what you want. Look, I never want to speak
- 13:11Speaker 3: about someone who's out there gutting it out. I mean,
- 13:14Speaker 3: I've said this, and I don't mean it as a
- 13:16Speaker 3: joke about Landon Dickerson. I don't think the guy's going
- 13:18Speaker 3: to be able to get out of bed when he's
- 13:20Speaker 3: thirty five, you know. I mean these guys they need
- 13:23Speaker 3: some time off. I mean, you know, Jurgens has had
- 13:26Speaker 3: a bad year now, whether it's due to injury, it
- 13:29Speaker 3: becomes irrelevant. If he's playing. He's playing, but he has
- 13:32Speaker 3: not had a good season. And Dickerson, you know, he's
- 13:36Speaker 3: been in and out. He's the true warrior, you know.
- 13:39Speaker 3: I'm sure as a player, he's so respected by everybody
- 13:42Speaker 3: in that locker room because he lines up and plays.
- 13:44Speaker 3: But he needs some time off, you know. So you know,
- 13:48Speaker 3: it's it's been a little it's been an issue. It's
- 13:52Speaker 3: it's been an issue with their on line. I'm just
- 13:54Speaker 3: you know, the tape. I'm not saying anything out of school, Frank.
- 13:56Speaker 3: The tape tells.
- 13:57Speaker 4: You, yes, you get do you I mean, it would
- 14:02Speaker 4: just be speculation. But I think if they played Toth.
- 14:05Speaker 4: Just to play Toth, they'd probably have to do some
- 14:07Speaker 4: different things in their blocking scheme to begin with, like
- 14:10Speaker 4: they were when he was playing to kind of compensate.
- 14:13Speaker 3: He showed some real athleticism though when he played.
- 14:15Speaker 4: Right, but they were they were almost using him different.
- 14:17Speaker 4: They weren't asking him to make these big reaches on
- 14:20Speaker 4: three techniques and everything, and that's.
- 14:22Speaker 3: Not what he's good at.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Right right, Awesome, everybody, have a great new year.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Thank you, thank you guys.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Thank you. I appreciate it. Talk to you next we year.
