Latest / BDGE Fantasy Football / The Perfect Draft Strategy for 2025
Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Good morning friends and enemies happy July fourth happy independence day Canada could never you know what we could never do is miss a weekly mock draft throughout the summer That's what today's video is we're doing a twelve team full PPR mock draft for twenty twenty five fantasy football We did this last week and I went very very running back heavy from the number one pick so if you want to watch that I will link it down below in the show notes
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: Today we're going to take a swing at the other side of the spectrum.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: Not completely tailing, but we want to go from the number nine pick, because I want to go wide receiver heavy in this draft.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: Or maybe not.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't do the draft yet, obviously.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe it plays out a little bit differently, but we're going to fill it up with people from the discord.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: If you're not yet in the discord, that's how you get into these mock drafts with me when I post them weekly.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: So let's make some fireworks.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: As I said, I'm going to be picking from the the nine hole.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: And the reason I said I'm going in with a wide receiver heavy draft strategy is
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: But based on doing a bunch of mock drafts already up to this points, that's, you know, the section of the draft where you're getting your choice of just top tier, high-end, wide receiver players, right?
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: Whether it's Puka, whether it's Amaraa, Malik, Neighbors, Niko, BTJ, like the combo of two of those players is just a beautiful thing.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: So we're gonna kick the draft off.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: This is thirty seconds per pick.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: Sam is up at the one-o-one.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think any of the top running backs will fall to me, you know, be John Sayquan, and Jamir Gibbs tend to be guys that go off the board in the first five or six picks, but realistically, man, I'd be kind of happy with any of the top wide receiver pairings falling to me.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see though, maybe they don't, maybe BTJ Nico Puka all go before I get my second pick in.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: If that's the case, then I think I will be looking at it dude, like,
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe Jenty, this is full PPR, so maybe Henry falls a little bit.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm really, really enticed by Devon, H and two.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: If he's my RB one, I'll be relatively happy and cheerful.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: So we have Jamar Chase, Beeshan, Justin Jefferson, Stane, Jamir Gives, and Sequon, man.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: What a world we're living in where you can get Sequon at the one on five.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: We just did that.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that hurts.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: I was really hoping Puka fell to me.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: So we have our pick really of of, you know, one of the top end wide receivers.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Arama, Malik, Nico, BTJ for me.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: They're all kind of in a tier.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: So I won't really like, you know, Fred, toss and turn here about which one's which
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: I'm actually going to go with Malikman.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: We just did an NFCE preview.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: We have an entire betting channel for BDGE that's just strictly looking at like betting lines, overunders, team tolls, things like that.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: I will link that down below if you guys are interested in getting more content.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: That's more specific to that where we look at like teams holistically, more than just fantasy stuff.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: But we had, we got a good friend of mine just in panic from John Boy Media over to talk about the giants.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: And a couple of points he brought up was
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: uh... like brine table wants to throw the ball he wants to be a pass heavy offence and i think you know the quarterback situation that he has now while rushes you know rushes rush and he's not who he was rush does like to take deep shots and i was something that really got some of last year but not the way that rushes checking up moon balls to uh...
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: you know to like to George Pickins, etc.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: And I think Malie can really thrive when you look at his like target totals.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm really hoping HN or BTJ falls back to me.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: I've got a bad feeling about this though.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: Those me, DJ, leave a champ for me.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: Leave a champ for me.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: Beautiful.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: Beautiful.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to a champ there.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, George Picken just got a ton of those deep balls.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: And I think if Malik can really like sprinkle those and do his game a bit more, he could be a dude who, I mean, he had a hundred and seventy targets last year in fifteen games as a rookie.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: When you start to look at his target numbers, like every game, he had a couple that were like eight targets, but it was, you know,
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: Seventeen, fourteen, fourteen, thirteen, twelve, fourteen.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, you give a dude with Malik neighbors' talent level, that sort of exposure to targets, and he's going to be a sixteen hundred yard receiver before long.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: So we got all the volume, and I think with a better quarterback under center, a little bit more stability for the offense, and you're going to see
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: uh... malignabers coming to his own is one of the best receivers in the NFL which year he was last year but now yeah i think we're gonna see another step up here so i think we'll see a sixteen hundred ten uh... probably you know a hundred and ten to twenty catches for malignabers uses so talented we didn't really get to see a lot of what made him great let uh... in college with jade and angels which was
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: Deny Daniels has that beautiful deep deep ball which Malik profited from and Malik is also dynamite in the open field like so good at taking slants to the house and just using that yard after catchability which I'm hoping we just kind of step into in year two and and and build the offense around that
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: They also didn't add any real pass catchers.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's the other thing too is you would think the way that this offense was set up that they felt like they needed a real wide receiver too.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: Wondell is a slot merchant.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: Darius Slateon's fine is like a wide receiver.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: Four, three in an offense.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: But they didn't add any real target competition there for a Malik neighbor.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: So there's no reason to think that he won't get another twelve to thirteen targets a game.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: And again, when you're that talented, you get Malik neighbors.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, you know, all bets are off in terms of what it's selling is so Malik.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: there was great, uh, I'm on raw went, Derek Henry, Nico, Brock Bowers, BTJ, CMAC at the two three, and then I got Devon H and at the two four.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: And to me, it kind of feels like there's a bit of a tier break there, especially in full people you are with H and you look at his insane target numbers last year.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: He was actually the triple crown winner in terms of running backs, which I didn't actually realize until I was reading an article from Hayden Winks this morning over at Underdog.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_00]: It does great work.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let all running backs and receptions receiving yards and receiving touchdowns last year.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: And now you have Johnny Smith, who had twenty percent of the team's targets last year, which is really high for a tight end.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of those being line excrement, a lot of those being manufactured design targets, which is what HM was getting to.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: Now he's gone, right?
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: So HN and Miami, he went from year one being
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: an insane runner seven point eight yards per carry uh two and insane receiver in year two and I would say they're offensive likely look more like last year than it did the year before because of again I will just hammer this narrative into your skulls every defense plays cover two three four against Miami and it's why they can't throw the ball deep anymore and it's led to them having to dump off to a chant entirely kill and john and smith
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: which is great for a cannon as PPR stats, which I know out of the water here, I mean, a chance ceiling is also, you know, through the fucking roof.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: And they added three offensive line men, they do lose Tronar said, which is a big loss.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: But hopefully their interior is offensive line can get a little bit better.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: But we are almost back on the clock here.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: We said, all my time, he happened.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: Lamar goes off the board.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: If Lamar fell to me in round three, I would have been super happy about that.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see, let's see, honestly, wouldn't be too pissed about Jade and Daniel's here.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: I also think there's a good chance if I grab Jade and Daniel's like it's stacking with Terry McClellan.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: Breeze Hall goes off the board.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, since we start three wide receivers.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not like over the moon about JSN.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a really good player, but I'm just like worried about investing into that offense.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: And right now, honestly, we've invested into three offenses if we take JSN where I'm not like super confident that they present a huge fantasy ceiling.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to take it anyways, because I feel like he's a really good floor play.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: JSN at the year to break out.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: We got no more DK.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: We got no more Tyler Lockett.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think JSN's a shoe in for a hundred and fifty-ish.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: Target, so obviously we are really heavily leaning into the PPR style of this league here.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, which ASEAN is just a good player that's going to, again, soak up a million targets there in Seattle.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: After A-Changes to recap for all y'all that might be listening to you podcast, A-Changes at the two-four from me, with A-Jib Brown, Drake London, Bucky Irving, Lad McConkey, Tert.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, I didn't even realize I was talking about getting Jayden Daniels with Tert McClellan and Tert McClellan went at the two-nine.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: Here, Josh Shaker is with the two tenths.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: He Higgins, Trahmic Bride, Jonathan Taylor, Tyre Kill, Kyron, James Cook, Josh Allen, Chase Brown, Lamar Jackson at the three seven, Breeze Hall at the three eight, and then I took Jason at the three nine.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm really like in this start so far because I said I wanted to go wider receiver heavy and I actually love the options that I still have left.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to go rush you right there, but he went off the board.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: Then Mike Evans would have probably been my second pick here.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: I still think I really like Devante Adams here.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: I will say if Puka had fallen me at the one nine, I would easily take him and then I might have split the difference here in terms of wide receivers.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm a big fan of Devante Adams at the four four.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: When we look at Vegas lines, this is something that I have been referencing quite often throughout the off season.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: The Monte Adams has some of the highest lines relative to receivers getting picked around him.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: Let me get these stats up for you all regular season stats.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: Adams is up at nine seventy five point five actually let me minimize myself a bit just to to lock in here y'all.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: Devontate Adams at nine seventy five you have guys like T. Higgins at nine fifty you have uh... they're not in order here but you could just see how heavily favored he is above a lot of those guys martin Harrison down at nine twenty five Garrett Wilson at nine twenty five tire kills at nine eighty so Devontate Adams is expected to have just as good of a year and then you look at the receiving touchdown lines his eight and a half is a lot higher than most players he's he's higher than almost all the like the non-gemar chase just in Jefferson tight players so again
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: I think Vegas gives you a really, really solid look at like bumpers for what we're expecting for players.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: So Devonta Adams, like this, this is a great comparison here.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: Devonta Adams, Vegas line, nine, eight, whatever, was nine, seventy, five, five, eight and a half touchdowns.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter's line is like six, eighty in terms of receiving yards.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, that doesn't bake in pure upside and what he could become over the second half.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: But the Vonsei, I feel like him in McVay and Stafford just that like veteran connection makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he's going to be a perfect fit to replace whatever Cooper Cup ended up being by the end of last year so far.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: So we have gone here or running back.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think HN is like the perfect player for that in full PBR.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: We have Malik, we have Jason, we have Devonsei at him so far.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: So why does he ever want to end three?
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: And the starting line up is one quarter back, two running backs, three wide receivers, a tight end, and two flexes.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: So we can continue to pepper the wide receiver position if we want, though I do know based on experience in drafting that there is a ton of value at the wide receiver position.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: Once we hit rounds six and seven, if I want to just kind of fade that position for now, like I like Godwin down here, I like Calvab.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: Ridley down here a lot.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: Shakir in a PPR lead, you call me Myers, I think is a great pick, step on digs, you're on Jennings, like we can sit on widers, you've right now pause until later on in the drafts, if we wanted to go with the tight end, if we wanted to go with the running back, which is probably where I'm eyeing my next pick.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: Although there aren't a lot of great options for PPR.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: If Nixon falls to me, I would definitely consider him actually really like James Conner too.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: Same lip-borked.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: George Kittle for on the four eleven feels like phenomenal fucking value like Bowers to one McBride to twelve and then Kittle at the four eleven is a movie.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: We have ten rounds in this draft.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: I believe one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we should have eleven.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_00]: Let me actually refresh this
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so we had a little run of water severs, which I love to see because I'm targeting running back here.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: So let's hope let's hope we get a little bit.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: I wanted Connor.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: All right, all right, give me mix and then give me mix and give me mixed stain.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: Mixing was so good to start the year last year.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: legit top five fans you're running back then I had the high ankle sprain so I want to chalk up a lot of what we did in c second half the year to that all right beautiful beautiful beautiful so mixing as our RB to that that makes me feel good I'm I'm a little weary of the offensive line there in Houston of course I'm a little weary of the of the competition they added in that backfields
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: with Trevor ETN and Woody, not Trevor ETNs, sorry, with Woody Marx and Nick Chub.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: But I think it's mixing his back feel to completely completely dominate until he shows that he cannot do that anymore.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: So with him as my hobby too, I mean, I'm feeling nice here right now.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_00]: and just look at the value left at receiver.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, I don't, I don't love Xavier worthy.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that, but six round, I could deal with that.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_00]: A lava down here, even waddled down here if we wanna, like, bet on a Miami bounce back, which I'm not too fond of, but, all right.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_00]: So just to recap, after Devante Adams at the four four, he went Travis Hunter, Kamara, Cortland Sutton, Marian Hampton, Joe Burrow, DJ Moore, George Kittle, James Stain Williams, Bonix, Kenneth Walker,
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: Sam Laporta, George Pickins, Zay Flowers, Demotha Smith, James Conner, TJ Hawkinson, Joe Nixon, Chuba Hubbard, DK Metcalf, Trayvon Henderson, Technic Millen.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so he's going with like a Rob Willie D. He's going with like a dynasty type of strategy here.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: We went a lot of young players.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: He went like hero veteran, Nico, and they went Bowers, Martin Harrison, Trayvon Henderson, Technic Millen.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: Do we like any of the tight ends?
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: Not necessarily.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to be honest, too.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_00]: This might be this might be one of like the rare instances where I maybe take a shot on RJ Harvey another guy.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: I don't I'm not in love with the talent, but the situation is phenomenal.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: And he's going to be a big time pass catcher.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe we look there.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think there's a huge tear gap between most of these quarterback.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not pulling the trigger yet.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean like that.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_00]: The wide receivers are juicy here, man.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: They be juicy.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_00]: There goes Jordan Addison.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_00]: We're the, yeah, I mean, listen, I'm worried about where the just in terms of like when Rossi Rice is on the field, it's Rossi Rice's offense.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's his world and the rest of them are just living in it.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_00]: Harvey, all right, you know what, you know what, this will be my one share of RJ Harvey throughout the summer.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: And again, because like what's the point of doing these drafts and understanding trends and stuff if we're not going to use them to our advantage?
- 14:13[SPEAKER_00]: Well, grab RJ Harvey here.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: And again, I think by the time we get back on on the clock, like I still think there's going to be great value at wider receiver.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_00]: Like if I'm getting Joanne Jennings, Jayden Reed, Josh Downs, Darno Mooney is my wider receiver for five.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_00]: I still feel phenomenal about that team.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's one of the bigger takeaways.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_00]: I was doing my rankings for wide receivers this morning because we did a top thirty running back rankings video on Wednesday, two days ago.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_00]: If you miss that, I'll put that in the show notes for you and we're going to be doing the same thing for the wide receiver position that video will come out Monday.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: And as I'm going through the rankings, legitimately
- 14:52[SPEAKER_00]: I like the top fifty fantasy wider severs.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not one of those people that's every year's like all the wider severs is so deep.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: Last year I felt like once we got to like wider severs thirty eight forty I was kind of out.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: This year we're fifty deep at wider severs.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_00]: We're fifty deep that I feel really comfortable with like the top fifty wider severs.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_00]: Of course there are EBS and Floser guys, I like a little bit more, but like even down at like, why do receiver fifty two you're getting to do like Michael Pittman, you know, like he's shown that he has thousand yard wide receiver upside.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_00]: If you could say healthy like, you know, you don't love him.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: You don't want to start him, but in in other years, you know, the wide receiver fifty come on now.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_00]: Come on, nah.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_00]: All right, we're seeing a big water shiver run.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I timed this poorly.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: What do you all thinking about my team so far though?
- 15:34[SPEAKER_00]: Six rounds in.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_00]: We have Devon H and Joe Nixon, League Neighbors, JSN, Devonte Adams and RJ Harvey.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm a fan.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_00]: I am a fan.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_00]: This is a different team that I would usually go with.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_00]: Like there are some names.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: You know, this is one of the parts about fantasy football that you really got to like embrace.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_00]: is not every player is a fade, not every player is someone that you're targeting or you want to buy immediately.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of guys are just like, okay, I don't have a strong opinion on if they fall to me in the draft, I'm okay starting to pad my team with those guys.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_00]: That is what Jackson Smith and Jigby's for me.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: That is what Joe mixing is for me.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_00]: That is, you know, kind of what RJ Harvey is for me.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I'm probably more on the fade side for RJ Harvey, but again, six round full PPR like I see the vision.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_00]: I see the vision here.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_00]: John Payton pretty good at utilizing running backs, especially in the passing game.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: The offenses that he's run always top five in target share to the running back position.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_00]: and I wouldn't say Denver as a particularly strong receiving group either.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you got Portland Sutton who will get twenty-five percent of the targets, but then Evan Ingraham, he's a, he's a check-down merchant.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_00]: Then you got Pat Bryant, you got Demon Veile, you got, you got some guys, you got some names, they're like, eh, but I think the running-back position still gets a crazy amount of targets.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you just pick and choose.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_00]: You have got like a handful of dudes that you really dislike that we're like, we're fading unless they drop like two, three rounds.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_00]: We don't want them.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: You got a handful of dudes that you're like, all right, he's the guy I'm targeting in the first or second round or whatever, you know, around above ADP.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_00]: And then the rest of them are just ebb and flow.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_00]: You just kind of, you know, take the good with the bad understand that your player evaluations are never going to be spot on for the entire season.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_00]: There's upside, there's downside, there's the good, the bad, there's fucking America, main America.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so let's see.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like I said, I think we're going to get a really, really solid combination of receivers here.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_00]: And if we want to go tight end, you know, I'm off Travis Kelsey, he's one, he's one that I'm putting the stamp on.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_00]: He's not a guy that I'm taking as tight end six or seven.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_00]: He's a guy that's like tight end ten to twelve for me.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_00]: Johnny Smith, the move to Pittsburgh yet, we're out on that for show.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_00]: So this is a grouping of dudes where I'm like, I think I like David and Joku.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think I like Tucker craft.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_00]: Those are guys that I am fine taking as my title one if I don't get in a lead tight end.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_00]: Running back since we got our three with RJ Harvey, I don't feel the need to pull the trigger on and do like Pacheco, although he's interesting, Caleb Johnson's really interesting to me here.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_00]: I will say, I think based on again, the drafts that I've done, like round seven eight, you can target wide receivers.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_00]: But I think you're running back room.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_00]: Again, like I've done enough drafts.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I think you're running back room has to be pretty solidified by round seven or eight.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I think I'll go on record there.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's kind of my stance based on what I've seen in drafts.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_00]: If you're not solidified by like midway through round seven, you're going to have trouble because you're going to have to be put in, you know, Najihara, Travis ETNs in your lineup, and that's not good.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, like Tony Pollard down here, I think is a great value.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Robinson is a great value.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_00]: Jay and Warren will be good in full PPR for show.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_00]: But outside of those guys, like you're risking it if you're going into round seven being like, I still need a pretty decent amount of running back help.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_00]: So I think here I'll running back to cool strategy, but I do think you need your RB two by like round five.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so the wider severs are coming up and yeah, man, we just we have a great selection of of dudes here that I still think are very, very good at the game of football.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have a huge, um,
- 19:09[SPEAKER_00]: difference in who I like here over.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_00]: I'll say Chris Alave will star.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_00]: Um, is this cute?
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: This is cute, right?
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_00]: Alave.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_00]: I really like Joanne Jennings, fan of Jaden Reed, but I think I like Josh Downs more.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: So those are like the three that if they're in my flex right away, they're my waters you were for.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to feel pretty good out the gate.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_00]: And I do like digs.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like cup.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I think I'm actually out.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_00]: I'll take a lot of here in round seven.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_00]: Seven nine's crazy.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, take auto pick off.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_00]: The reason I use the QE little.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, a Tony Pollard down here is absolute steel.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna on a QB.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Baker's still there.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_00]: I wish I had some Tampa Bay exposure in this draft.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: I might go Baker and then and then look to target a mecca of Booga as a late round upside pick.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, man.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_00]: So this kind of worked out exactly how I imagined it.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_00]: I'm telling you, like, round six, seven, eight are sweet spots for wider receiver.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_00]: And there were running backs kind of start to go to die.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_00]: So you need to shore up your running backs spot by round five or six to feel comfortable with where that position group is at.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_00]: I, there goes John.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_00]: I want to join there.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_00]: Do I even need to target Josh down here?
- 20:31[SPEAKER_00]: I like him more than the other ones.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_00]: I like stuff on Diggs a lot.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_00]: I like to earn him when you a lot to.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like if I let down to go though, I'm not going to get him on the turn.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, that golden.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm going to take down to here.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_00]: Down to here.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_00]: So that was round eight.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_00]: This is the roster so far, our starting running backs are Devon H and Joe Mixon, our starting receivers are League Neighbors, Jackson Smith and Jigba and Devon Tay Adams.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: Our Flex spots are RJ Harvey, Chris Alave and Josh Downs.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_00]: We have not drafted a QB or a tight end yets.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_00]: I will say a lot of my strategy this year for quarterback will be if I can grab one of those top QBs.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_00]: in the first three rounds, I'm very happy to do so.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_00]: Like Jayden, I could have taken at the three nine and felt really good about that position.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_00]: I'm actually surprised.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think Jay is saying kind of just jumped off the page to me in terms of him usually not falling that far, especially in a full PPR league.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_00]: So I took him instead, but I'm super fine taking Allen, Lamar Jackson, Jayden Daniels in round three.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm kind of at the point where if I don't get them,
- 21:38[SPEAKER_00]: Unless Jalen Hertz or Joe Barrell falls to around round five.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_00]: I'm typically going to just wait on the quarterback position.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_00]: And I think what I want to look for.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_00]: I've been targeting Brock party pretty heavily as my QB one in rounds like ten eleven.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_00]: He falls there and I like him just as much as any other quarterback left on the board.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_00]: He's underrated in the rushing department.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think he had six rushing touchdowns last year.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_00]: Really good weapons group.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously a great offensive system.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: James just go, you know, dud it out last year, but there is good at odds of having a major bounce back on offences any team in the NFL.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_00]: So, oh, a Boota one at the eighth round.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_00]: Well, earlier than I imagined, who else could we throw in the queue?
- 22:27[SPEAKER_00]: So we got digs.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_00]: I really like read.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_00]: I like
- 22:32[SPEAKER_00]: Ricky P, I'll I'll take shots on that too, because I missed out on Jennings, Donald Mooney, we love talking about Pitman.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_00]: He's an upside player.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_00]: Tray Harris, I think there's a lot of upside.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_00]: That's probably where my love for receivers falls out.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_00]: I like Bateman.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_00]: Also like Tillman a little bit too.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_00]: How was Keenan Allen that signed with like,
- 23:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like how does Pittsburgh not go out and get Keenan Allen?
- 23:03[SPEAKER_00]: How do they not need just like a reliable slot wider receiver?
- 23:08[SPEAKER_00]: That's crazy to me.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think Keenan's like who Keenan was anymore, but you're telling me nobody wants his services.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_00]: That's crazy to me.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_00]: Like we're out here giving contracts to Gabe Davis again.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: But not Keenan.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_00]: At some point we just got to grow up.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_00]: Any running backs.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_00]: I do like scatter boo.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_00]: I get the Warren.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have a tight end.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, Johnny's fallen.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_00]: I get it though.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you go to Pittsburgh, you're sharing snaps of Pat fire, move.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_00]: Arthur Smith has kind of done wonders for Johnny, but like,
- 23:51[SPEAKER_00]: He's never really been a weekend and a week out starter for fantasy outside of what he did in Miami last year.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like his first big year was with the Smith and Tennessee.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: He had, I believe, eight receiving touchdowns, which is cool, but super hard to be predictable when you're not getting the targets on a weekly basis.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_00]: Atlanta, he had a great run, but was also never like a comfortable spot where you can, you know, project him for high target or reception totals and Pittsburgh is not going to be a pass first often.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he just his value absolutely tanks after that trade unfortunately.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_00]: Darren Waller though, we didn't even talk about him.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_00]: Darren Waller goes to Miami.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_00]: I think I'll have some spark throughout the year.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_00]: Like I think there'll be times where people add them off the way of wire or draft him late in their drafts with some hopes that he could still get it done, but I don't know.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know about all that shit.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully in Joker falls to me here.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_00]: Otherwise, I think we might be hurting at the tight end position.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_00]: Drew Bachman does not have a tight end.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_00]: Fuck.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_00]: I knew that was gonna happen.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_00]: I fucking knew it.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_00]: I knew it.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_00]: All right, well at this point we're waiting on tight end.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: That'll be our last round pick.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna go with another receiver here, I think.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_00]: We'll try to go Darnel Mooney and then we'll try to go Brock Perti Bang Bang.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_00]: Try to go Brock Pertstein.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_00]: But listen, I mean, you can go golf.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's got a great floor.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_00]: If you've picked Detroit, Detroit, Detroit weapons up to this point, that's a good stack.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_00]: If you like Kyler and his rushing upside, go for it, Herbert.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_00]: If you think they're going to take a big step forward, although I don't think the passing volume is going to be there, Caleb.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think I got some Chicago players, they're certainly upside with Ben Johnson there now.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_00]: Jordan love you can go with, I think there's a lot of good quarterback upside here, Drake may, but Brock party for me feels like a clear, like I like that dude.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_00]: I like that dude is my one.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_00]: So we're gonna go with Brock, as long as he falls to me, which those two teams both have QBs.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_00]: Seenor does not have a QB at though, so we'll see what he does.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_00]: Although he is on monrasing Brown, so I'd imagine he probably goes in the direction of Detroit to give himself that stack.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_00]: We're running back run there, Jay and Warren Tajaj Spears, Zack Sharbanay.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think Tajaj could have some juice.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_00]: They're interesting.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_00]: That team actually took Pollard and Tajaj Spears.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_00]: I really do think they went into last year imagining that it was a one A one B and then Tajaj got hurt.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_00]: So it had to be Tony Pollard did the entire year and he played well enough that like why would they move off of him?
- 26:52[SPEAKER_00]: So all right.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_00]: No Brock.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_00]: No Brock.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_00]: No Brock.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_00]: No Brock and Stane.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_00]: Don't do it to me.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_00]: Make your fucking pick my guy.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: We get Brocky and Brock's another one like if we look at the the MGM stats here.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_00]: Nope, not Brock that Brock.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_00]: How many rocks we got in the league?
- 27:39[SPEAKER_00]: That's like an interesting name to have a lot of them.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_00]: Thirty eight fifty.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's about again as high as any non-joberal quarterback.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think that is I think Brock perdi's thirty eight fifty passing yard line is tied with Jared Goff and it is higher than every other quarterback except for my homes and Joe Burrell.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_00]: And what's interesting, I keep telling y'all, JJ McCarthy, sleeper of the sense, thirty seven fifty, one of the highest lines in the NFL passing touchdowns.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_00]: This is where Perti really like kind of separates himself from a lot of those other yardage guys.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_00]: I like twenty four and a half, but that's fine.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_00]: If you've those for twenty five to twenty eight passing touchdowns, you're going to look good.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be good.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_00]: And I think again, he has like, he's a little bit lower than golf in the passing touchdown department, but Perti is a liability for defenses.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_00]: in the rushing department.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_00]: Like I said last year, he ran for five rushing touchdowns and three hundred and twenty three rushing yards.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_00]: So he does add that on any given week and any given season, which is, you know, nice compared to a guy like Jared Goff.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_00]: So again, love me some purge thing.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_00]: And then we have to grab a tie-down with our last pick.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_00]: Again, we'll kind of just see how this plays out.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, John who's like, you know, he's, he's, he's like a low end tie-down to at this point in fantasy.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_00]: Conquade.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't think Buffalo has shown us anything that tells us that they're planning on like running any part of that passing game through him.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_00]: Dawson knocks actually out snapped.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_00]: Don't concede on a week to week basis last year.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_00]: Dawson Knox average thirty six naps for game.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_00]: Don't concede thirty four.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_00]: So that's a problem.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_00]: Dawson Knox is still there.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_00]: Come on, Coleman's still there.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_00]: He'll secure is still there.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_00]: They just like concede is just shown nothing to see that he's going to run or he's going to be someone that they run the offense through.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 29:27[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, just not that enticing to me.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_00]: I don't hate Jake Ferguson.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like I think this Dallas offense is gonna have to throw a lot in Vegas.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_00]: They are a seven and a half win total team.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_00]: And I think their defense is really overrated.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think their ground game is gonna be bad, which amount to Williams as the starter there.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_00]: So I think the only thing that they're gonna be really, really enticing for is just their passing offense.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_00]: Like Dak Prescott's gonna have to throw the ball.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_00]: six hundred plus times it's all going to be cdlam, George Pickins and Jake Ferguson.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_00]: So if Jake gets a little bit of touchdown luck, I could see him having a good year.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'm got it on the low volume passing offense and Philly scares me a little bit.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_00]: Kyle pits, I literally would rather draft fucking someone like Josh Bliss, Josh Bist or a fuck that guy's name is.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_00]: Um, yeah, Pat Frymuth is tanked now that Johnny Smith is there.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_00]: I don't hate Isaiah likely, but you can't really count on him as a starter.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_00]: Dude, Zach hurts in Hunter Henry, like these two vets super underrated.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_00]: Same thing with Brent and Strange.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_00]: Don't hate Micah Sikky, similar setup to Dallas, where they're just going to have the past while a million times.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but even more voluminous.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_00]: So tight any, I mean, you could take your shots and any of these guys.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think I dude, exact hurts really was in a relatively high volume role last year.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_00]: Like he was he was kind of good man.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_00]: Hunter Henry, I do think with Drake May taking a step into the second year.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_00]: He was a guy who got a decent amount of targets last year and was relatively involved in the offense.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_00]: Like, look at these target numbers.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_00]: Like, of course, you're going to have some good games of like four or three targets, but nine, six, eight, nine, eight, like those are serious target numbers for a tight end, especially in in full PPR, like you could do a lot worse than that.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_00]: Well, what would you guys do here at the end of your, at the end of the run here?
- 31:23[SPEAKER_00]: Who are you taking at tight end in this tier?
- 31:30[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_00]: Who are we taking at tight end?
- 31:41[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_00]: Let's just take and get it over with.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_00]: I got beyond some tired today.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_00]: I went to the comedy seller last night.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_00]: Which is like the best comedy place in New York City.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_00]: Which means it's like one of the best in the world.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a damn random Wednesday night.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_00]: They give you the lineup beforehand, like when you book the tickets.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_00]: And it was like a pretty unappetizing lineup.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_00]: But like everyone that goes on there is like super, super funny.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_00]: Really good.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_00]: They all have experienced that, you know, SNL, Conan, stand up this, HBO that.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_00]: But last night, one, the third dude to come out with Sam Aril, a few guys are like on social media at all.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_00]: You know who Sam Aril is?
- 32:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's funny as fuck.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_00]: And then they ended the night with Louis C.K.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_00]: coming on stage.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_00]: So that was fucking cool as hell.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_00]: Louis C.K.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_00]: is probably like, you know, he's an all-time goat in the comedy scene and probably my personal favorite of all time.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like his earlier stand-ups on YouTube are literally put me in tears.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_00]: So to see him come out, you know, they just do it randomly.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_00]: Anytime those kind of guys want to pop up in the show, they just come here and then, you know, you never know what you're in for with those with the standup comedians that give you the lineup and then they always have like really, really high level celebrities just pop up on a fucking Wednesday at seven p.m.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_00]: That was super fun.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_00]: All to say, I am, it was a kind of a late night, so I'm, I'm actually super fucking tired right now because of it.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_00]: But we power through, and we took Donton Concade.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_00]: That was like where my brain started to go to mush.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_00]: You've seen me drafting Donton Cade at any point this offseason.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_00]: You know I did something the night before.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, some points.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_00]: So here's the final roster.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know how you guys feel about this one.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_00]: We got Brock at quarterback.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_00]: We got Devon HN and Joe mixing out our running back position.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_00]: Why does he reposition?
- 33:32[SPEAKER_00]: We got Malik, JSN, Devonte Adams, Devonte Adams, don't conkate it tight end.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_00]: Our flex spots will be a rotation of RJ Harvey, Chris Alive, Josh Downs, and Darnell.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_00]: Mooney.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_00]: I really like that combination because I don't feel the need to, you know, I wouldn't feel the need to start RJ Harvey off the rip.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like I think Darnell Mooney and Chris Alave will both give you really solid PPR floors out the gate and then if something happens where one of them falls off or one of them gets injured, then I think by that time like a month in, RJ Harvey probably has a more solidified role.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_00]: And I think with Josh Downs too, we'll kind of clear up what's going on in Deanapolis between quarterbacks and wider severs pretty early on as well.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_00]: Here is the full draft board if you want to take a look at it.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_00]: The last pick was Xavier and he get She's he just in fields Yeah, let me know let me know how you're feeling about this team right here into squadron I know you guys hate every fucking team under after these mock grass, but I don't give a shit.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_00]: I never ever cared
- 34:31[SPEAKER_00]: Um, yeah.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'm out of here.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you guys for hanging out with me on July fourth.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_00]: Go and enjoy your fireworks.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_00]: Go and enjoy your fucking buzzers.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_00]: And, um, don't shoot your fucking fingers off, please.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
