- 0:15Speaker 3: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:18Speaker 2: The analytics were created to give nerds a reason to
- 0:22Speaker 2: be involved. They grew up and not being able to
- 0:25Speaker 2: be involved in sports, and they've created a way. And
- 0:28Speaker 2: I give them credit. They're very creative to be now
- 0:31Speaker 2: involved in the sport.
- 0:32Speaker 4: You're not worried about losing the game because of what
- 0:34Speaker 4: Felgrim mads are going to say. You're worried about not
- 0:36Speaker 4: being as good as you think they are.
- 0:39Speaker 5: I had never experienced like losing a playoff game before,
- 0:41Speaker 5: really as like a fan chilling, and I just remember
- 0:45Speaker 5: being absolutely distraught after they lost to Denver then too.
- 0:48Speaker 6: That's like why I started blogging about the team. I
- 0:50Speaker 6: think just that loss against the god.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Whooping it up in that press box. If you remember
- 0:55Speaker 3: Paul Mike.
- 0:56Speaker 4: Camble, remember what happened in this season, but you remember
- 0:58Speaker 4: the disrespect from the out of on press court.
- 1:01Speaker 3: You got that right.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Oh, by the way, they told me they have a
- 1:04Speaker 2: new nickname for me, Freddie Fields.
- 1:06Speaker 3: But after this week, maybe I don't want to.
- 1:09Speaker 7: Go around the office.
- 1:11Speaker 4: I'm not sure.
- 1:11Speaker 8: I'm not.
- 1:13Speaker 4: And I'm not sure Evyan's coming back tomorrow. You little
- 1:17Speaker 4: mean to him before the breaking. Oh yeah, you think
- 1:19Speaker 4: I heard him into.
- 1:20Speaker 3: I heard him with the analytics. I don't shine.
- 1:23Speaker 4: I think you're his feelings these things, and fred will
- 1:26Speaker 4: make fun of me because these things don't generally move
- 1:29Speaker 4: my needle one way.
- 1:30Speaker 8: I know.
- 1:30Speaker 7: I don't know what moves your need, but Freddie Fields
- 1:33Speaker 7: moves his need.
- 1:34Speaker 3: This is Patriots Unfiltered.

- 1:43Speaker 3: All right, welcome to Patriots sun Filtered.
- 1:45Speaker 2: It is Thursday here at ji Lets Stadium, and we
- 1:48Speaker 2: got Evan and Paul and Alex and Duce and me
- 1:51Speaker 2: and now Alex and Matt in the booth. It's a
- 1:53Speaker 2: big day. And my headline is things are changing. And
- 1:59Speaker 2: when I say things, I mean the weather for game day.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Uh.
- 2:04Speaker 2: And the line.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Bad stuff coming back? Yeah, and the line the line
- 2:08Speaker 4: just keeps yo yoing weird.
- 2:10Speaker 2: So I was listening to your show yesterday and a
- 2:12Speaker 2: guy said that he thinks he was responsible for this
- 2:16Speaker 2: line change because he didn't he put down a million
- 2:19Speaker 2: dollar bet with fanatics.
- 2:21Speaker 4: Yeah, the line change was DraftKings.
- 2:24Speaker 3: I thought the line changes through all the lines.
- 2:26Speaker 4: No, different, different books have different spreads.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Well, they find out about the bet.
- 2:31Speaker 4: I'm with you on that, but continue anyway.
- 2:34Speaker 2: One million dollars on the Patriots on the Patriot line,
- 2:36Speaker 2: on the Patriots money line, and if he does win
- 2:40Speaker 2: half of it, he's giving to the MSPCA. So all
- 2:43Speaker 2: the dogs in Massachusetts are rooting for the Patriots.
- 2:47Speaker 3: So on me the.
- 2:50Speaker 7: Sure too.
- 2:51Speaker 3: So No, but the line has changed now the Patriots
- 2:54Speaker 3: are favorites.
- 2:55Speaker 4: No, not not so fast, my friend.
- 2:58Speaker 3: What it's going back?
- 3:00Speaker 6: Now?
- 3:00Speaker 7: What is it?
- 3:01Speaker 4: One and a half of Buffalo?
- 3:02Speaker 3: So it's gone back to Buffalo.
- 3:04Speaker 4: I've happened since then, I've given I have no idea.
- 3:07Speaker 3: But this is all money, right dictating this?
- 3:10Speaker 4: Yeah, so I don't know anything about this stuff. I
- 3:13Speaker 4: say this all times. No I don't. I was told
- 3:17Speaker 4: yesterday that it's not about the amount of money, it's
- 3:20Speaker 4: about the shop money to borrow your okay, So sometimes
- 3:25Speaker 4: you know, someone might come in that they really respect,
- 3:28Speaker 4: you know, with a modest wager, and that could affect
- 3:31Speaker 4: the line and stuff like that. But I don't have
- 3:33Speaker 4: any idea what would make it go from Patriots Buffalo
- 3:39Speaker 4: by one and a half. The next day it's Patriots
- 3:42Speaker 4: by one and a half, the next day it's Buffalo
- 3:44Speaker 4: by one and a half. I don't see.
- 3:46Speaker 2: I think it really is volume money because the goal
- 3:50Speaker 2: of the houses is to get it, even because they
- 3:53Speaker 2: make money on the big and so their goal is
- 3:57Speaker 2: to get it.
- 3:57Speaker 4: I was told by my inside source this morning, yeah
- 4:00Speaker 4: inside sor yeah, it's Will my son. He said that,
- 4:04Speaker 4: I believe on DraftKings it said that about fifty three
- 4:09Speaker 4: percent of the money was on the Patriots. Okay, so
- 4:12Speaker 4: I don't know. Maybe that hasn't to your point. Maybe
- 4:15Speaker 4: that not enough money, or maybe not the right kind
- 4:18Speaker 4: of money in terms of who's actually betting. Maybe this
- 4:21Speaker 4: guy that bet a million dollars isn't a sharp right,
- 4:25Speaker 4: you know in your parlance. I don't know.
- 4:27Speaker 6: I don't know what it all means. Well, I think
- 4:29Speaker 6: that's some of all the parts. To me, means that
- 4:31Speaker 6: this is a very difficult game to call, and.
- 4:33Speaker 2: That it's split and it's basically a toss basically as
- 4:37Speaker 2: as well it should be. I think I think, you know,
- 4:39Speaker 2: listen as much as I make fun of the Bills
- 4:41Speaker 2: in their window closing.
- 4:43Speaker 3: I respect them.
- 4:44Speaker 4: I playing them this week, so we have to treat
- 4:46Speaker 4: them with respect.
- 4:47Speaker 10: Only only for the rest of the day.
- 4:51Speaker 2: I'm not bar I don't think Josh Allen sticks. I
- 4:56Speaker 2: actually don't. I think Josh Allen is, if not the best,
- 5:02Speaker 2: of course, one of the best quarterbacks in the league
- 5:05Speaker 2: and one of the best of all time. I just
- 5:07Speaker 2: put him in the top fifteen of all time, if not,
- 5:10Speaker 2: maybe top ten of all time.
- 5:12Speaker 5: Of all time. Yeah, I would, man, Yeah, that's high praise.
- 5:16Speaker 3: It is high praise.
- 5:17Speaker 7: What's he won?
- 5:18Speaker 3: What's he want?
- 5:19Speaker 5: I mean, that's a fair point to.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Be in the top fifteen. He hasn't won anything, you know,
- 5:23Speaker 3: So I kid.
- 5:25Speaker 5: Made a super Bowl.
- 5:26Speaker 4: Now.
- 5:26Speaker 6: I think what's interesting to me is I've thought about
- 5:28Speaker 6: this game a little bit more is what a role
- 5:30Speaker 6: reversal it is for the Patriots. Are you over twenty
- 5:32Speaker 6: years you established yourself as the top team in the
- 5:35Speaker 6: in the division or in the conference, in the league,
- 5:38Speaker 6: and these kind of big games were always about.
- 5:40Speaker 7: Can the Patriots keep it going? You know, can they
- 5:42Speaker 7: continue to.
- 5:43Speaker 6: Be the favorite who everybody is, you know, thinking, is
- 5:46Speaker 6: going to win? And now it's it's kind of changed.
- 5:48Speaker 6: It's now can the Patriots get over the hump? Can
- 5:50Speaker 6: they win these big games? Can they get into that conversation?
- 5:54Speaker 6: And I think that's part of what's novel about this team,
- 5:57Speaker 6: about this team.
- 5:57Speaker 4: Excuse me, yeah, I choked.
- 5:59Speaker 3: I just got to a little bit about talking about
- 6:01Speaker 3: this guys.
- 6:03Speaker 7: I think I'm okay.
- 6:05Speaker 4: It's when him, but it's just different.
- 6:06Speaker 6: You think, like Buffalo is really more in that Patriots
- 6:09Speaker 6: role that that you're kind of used to. So many
- 6:11Speaker 6: people are trying to figure out when was the last
- 6:13Speaker 6: time the Patriots played a game of this kind of
- 6:15Speaker 6: magnitude or you know, at least this opportunity to win
- 6:17Speaker 6: a division?
- 6:18Speaker 7: But you know, it's not.
- 6:19Speaker 6: About taking care of business and doing what you've done.
- 6:22Speaker 6: It's about doing something new and you know, knocking off
- 6:24Speaker 6: a team and you know, taking advantage of an opportunity
- 6:27Speaker 6: to win a championship.
- 6:28Speaker 4: You know. So it's just.
- 6:29Speaker 7: Interesting how you know, you're not I'm not really used
- 6:32Speaker 7: to this feeling before.
- 6:33Speaker 2: You know, what was the game in which the Patriots
- 6:37Speaker 2: dynasty flipped?
- 6:41Speaker 3: In other words, and the end, like.
- 6:44Speaker 10: Was there a game in Tennessee.
- 6:48Speaker 6: A little bit of Baltimore before that of like, I
- 6:50Speaker 6: don't I just think they got run off the field
- 6:52Speaker 6: and I think they were undefeated and it just felt
- 6:54Speaker 6: like I haven't seen listening.
- 6:57Speaker 5: To Miami in the last week of the season. I
- 6:59Speaker 5: think was all so a very big kind of line
- 7:03Speaker 5: in the sand.
- 7:03Speaker 10: Those two games.
- 7:04Speaker 2: But they didn't lose to the team that kind of dethroned,
- 7:07Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Like.
- 7:08Speaker 7: It's a slow process, I think.
- 7:09Speaker 6: I mean, is there really like just one moment where,
- 7:12Speaker 6: especially with that how long they were dominant, it was
- 7:15Speaker 6: going to take more than because I mean I bet
- 7:17Speaker 6: you could probably even you guys probably thought it in
- 7:19Speaker 6: twenty eighteen that there were times where they ain't got
- 7:21Speaker 6: it this, you know, I mean, they kind of pulled
- 7:23Speaker 6: one out of it, but they yeah, I mean, but
- 7:25Speaker 6: signs were there, I think twenty seventeen, twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen.
- 7:28Speaker 4: I agree, And the documentary sort of chronicles that, like
- 7:31Speaker 4: you could see how it was crumbling behind the scenes,
- 7:34Speaker 4: behind they know, you could make an argument though it
- 7:39Speaker 4: was just the singular move of Tom Brady's you know,
- 7:42Speaker 4: once he once he left, because I mean, do you
- 7:44Speaker 4: think there would have been a lot of people betting against
- 7:46Speaker 4: the Patriots in twenty twenty. If Brady and Belichick were
- 7:49Speaker 4: coming back, right, they probably would have been. Now, to
- 7:52Speaker 4: Mike's point, maybe they weren't super Bowl caliber the way
- 7:55Speaker 4: they once were, but yeah, everybody would have the Chiefs
- 7:59Speaker 4: right now.
- 8:00Speaker 5: Roster in eighteen was already decaying and physical literally like physically.
- 8:06Speaker 4: But decaying with twelve wins, you know, Mike was bo Yeah, yeah,
- 8:10Speaker 4: but they.
- 8:12Speaker 5: Were they weren't a great team in twenty eighth eighteen.
- 8:17Speaker 4: They were not.
- 8:18Speaker 5: They were and they flipped a switch in the playoffs
- 8:21Speaker 5: and Brady had one more last you know, throwback ride
- 8:25Speaker 5: in him in Kansas City. But that team was flawed.
- 8:29Speaker 5: I mean, their weapons were already starting to really show
- 8:33Speaker 5: age and all that stuff, and like the team in
- 8:37Speaker 5: twenty nineteen was just beating up on bad teams and
- 8:40Speaker 5: stuff like that, and then they fell apart. And I
- 8:43Speaker 5: remember the story of twenty nineteen the Dolphins, the regular
- 8:48Speaker 5: season finale against the Dolphins. Apparently they had a fully
- 8:53Speaker 5: padded practice and the last week of the season on
- 8:56Speaker 5: Christmas Eve heading into the Dolphins game, and they just
- 9:00Speaker 5: like hit the crap out of each other in practice
- 9:03Speaker 5: for no reason and it was like kind of like
- 9:06Speaker 5: a turning point in that season a little bit. So
- 9:09Speaker 5: that's why I pointed to that Dolphins game because the
- 9:12Speaker 5: public did.
- 9:12Speaker 3: I know that that they had that practice?
- 9:15Speaker 2: I mean a reporter here, Yeah, no I know, But
- 9:17Speaker 2: like what was that reported at the time or I
- 9:20Speaker 2: think so really, yeah, that's what I'm asking.
- 9:23Speaker 4: Yeah. I wasn't aware of it.
- 9:25Speaker 5: Yeah, and they, you know, some people probably didn't take
- 9:29Speaker 5: too kindly to a week eighteen week seven million padded
- 9:33Speaker 5: practice on Christmas, like and uh, they played like crap
- 9:37Speaker 5: against the Dolphins.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Remember the last touchdown it was like, you know, to
- 9:44Speaker 4: our end in the press box like that that I
- 9:47Speaker 4: think it was. And I just kept thinking, like, you know.
- 9:51Speaker 2: I think this is before the position.
- 9:53Speaker 4: But they're not going to score. I just kept thinking
- 9:55Speaker 4: they're not going to score. Like, son of a bitch.
- 9:57Speaker 4: They scored and we don't get to botch like that
- 10:00Speaker 4: never happened.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Crazy.
- 10:01Speaker 5: I remember I was here with Barth on that Sunday
- 10:04Speaker 5: night we were waiting to see who they were going
- 10:06Speaker 5: to play.
- 10:07Speaker 4: Did you have to explain to Barth what was going on?
- 10:10Speaker 5: No?
- 10:10Speaker 4: Oh, okay, sometimes I don't know. You're a little mean
- 10:13Speaker 4: to Alex, and I just want to make sure they.
- 10:16Speaker 5: Explaining they are allowed to Alex, so just to be clear.
- 10:21Speaker 5: Uh yeah, And we were we were waiting to see
- 10:23Speaker 5: who they were going to play, and we were like,
- 10:25Speaker 5: I just remember being like shell shocked that they were
- 10:27Speaker 5: playing a game the following week. We all thought that
- 10:30Speaker 5: the bye was right a given.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I totally agree.
- 10:34Speaker 4: Didn't there's any chance they would lose to Miami at home.
- 10:37Speaker 11: That Miami game was crazy because I covered that game,
- 10:40Speaker 11: and I'll never forget just happening to be in the
- 10:43Speaker 11: tunnel right after, like Tom was leaving and going out
- 10:46Speaker 11: the tunnel with little Vivian and Vivian's just laying into
- 10:50Speaker 11: him because she can't go play on the field, and
- 10:52Speaker 11: the look on Tom's face of just like defeat. It
- 10:56Speaker 11: was the most human I've ever seen him, honestly, and
- 10:59Speaker 11: I was like, oh my god, like one, he's so pissed.
- 11:01Speaker 11: And now his little like eight year old daughters just
- 11:03Speaker 11: calling him the worst at ever because she can't go
- 11:05Speaker 11: run around on the field.
- 11:07Speaker 3: No one hated losing more than him. Yeah, So okay,
- 11:12Speaker 3: just a.
- 11:13Speaker 4: Yeah, It's it's interesting that that is probably that all
- 11:17Speaker 4: of that is the that's probably.
- 11:19Speaker 6: The end of the Patriot now, and I draw some
- 11:20Speaker 6: comparisons to what Kansas City is going to go through
- 11:22Speaker 6: now and you know, needing to redefine themselves a little
- 11:26Speaker 6: bit and Patriots, you know, two thousand and nine, I
- 11:29Speaker 6: think you could have said, I think there's a lot
- 11:31Speaker 6: of similar fallen apart from Kansas City, you know, and
- 11:33Speaker 6: then you draft Gronk and you get mccordy and et cetera,
- 11:36Speaker 6: et cetera. You put together another team and then that
- 11:38Speaker 6: window opens up again, and then you know again it
- 11:40Speaker 6: started to close in twenty eighteen, really and Gronk retired,
- 11:44Speaker 6: you didn't have and all of a sudden you got
- 11:45Speaker 6: Matt lacosse As you're you know, that's who Brady's number
- 11:48Speaker 6: one tight end. That was what the plan was. Demere
- 11:50Speaker 6: Bird came like, you know, after that, like they just were.
- 11:54Speaker 3: El Due's DU's magnetic.
- 11:57Speaker 5: Taking Ben Watson out of retire, Ben Watson out of retire,
- 12:00Speaker 5: Like there was just no plan I mean right like
- 12:02Speaker 5: they I mean the.
- 12:06Speaker 7: Ed on the vine and they never replaced them.
- 12:08Speaker 6: And as guys left, they just didn't have the draft
- 12:11Speaker 6: pieces to keep going.
- 12:12Speaker 5: And they didn't drafted tight end for like eight years,
- 12:15Speaker 5: but like they had.
- 12:17Speaker 6: Mahomes, could they go and get Mahomes like a Tyler
- 12:19Speaker 6: Warren or you know, and all of a sudden like
- 12:21Speaker 6: all right, Kelsey can go and now you know, we
- 12:23Speaker 6: start to do things again.
- 12:25Speaker 7: But they got to hit. They got to hit on
- 12:26Speaker 7: the pay.
- 12:27Speaker 4: They have to do a better job in the draft.
- 12:28Speaker 4: They have some players that they've gotten that have been
- 12:31Speaker 4: productive for them, but they've had too many misses and
- 12:35Speaker 4: the key spots that that Mahomes has relied on have
- 12:39Speaker 4: gotten old and they need to replace some of them.
- 12:41Speaker 4: But they'll be back.
- 12:42Speaker 2: So the good news is I think we're on the
- 12:45Speaker 2: verge of a new run with this team. I'm not
- 12:49Speaker 2: saying it's going to be like the old one, but
- 12:51Speaker 2: at least, you know, more success than more winning seasons
- 12:55Speaker 2: than not with this team. And if they win this Sunday,
- 12:59Speaker 2: could this be the changing of the guard in the AFCs.
- 13:03Speaker 7: I mean, I think this is the start of a rivalry.
- 13:05Speaker 7: I don't know if there's gonna be a changing of
- 13:06Speaker 7: a guard.
- 13:07Speaker 6: I think that this is going to be the next
- 13:09Speaker 6: chapter in what is going to be over the next
- 13:11Speaker 6: three to five years, two really competitive teams that are
- 13:14Speaker 6: going to go back and forth at each other.
- 13:16Speaker 5: Yeah, Alan and may have a chance to be like
- 13:20Speaker 5: Manning and Brady, right, you know, they have a chance
- 13:22Speaker 5: to have that kind of run.
- 13:23Speaker 4: Maybe not with all the supervisions, but even better because right,
- 13:27Speaker 4: well yeah it could have had the state in the division.
- 13:30Speaker 5: But yeah, exactly. So I think that that's what we're
- 13:33Speaker 5: more looking at, is that this is going to be
- 13:36Speaker 5: a ten year run here where the two of them
- 13:38Speaker 5: are just going to be going back and forth.
- 13:41Speaker 7: I was s thinking a little about Josh Allen too.
- 13:43Speaker 6: I made the point I think it was yesterday of
- 13:45Speaker 6: like maybe justin Herbert being a wild card, and I'm like, no,
- 13:48Speaker 6: dumb ask like, if this is Josh Allen's year, I
- 13:50Speaker 6: mean he could he might get in the playoffs without Burrow,
- 13:53Speaker 6: without Jackson, without Mahomes, Like.
- 13:55Speaker 7: You know, yeah, there's some young upstarts like Drake May
- 13:57Speaker 7: and bow Knicks.
- 13:58Speaker 6: But if I'm buff, I'm looking I mean, we're all
- 14:01Speaker 6: saying here like, oh, this is a great chance for
- 14:03Speaker 6: the Patriots. Well, I know the Bills are a little
- 14:05Speaker 6: down this year, but I'm saying my guy is going
- 14:09Speaker 6: to be the best quarterback in the AFC.
- 14:10Speaker 7: This is it.
- 14:11Speaker 2: This is the year.
- 14:12Speaker 7: We need to go to the super Bowl no matter
- 14:14Speaker 7: what and win it.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Are Yeah, it.
- 14:15Speaker 5: Reminds me a lot of the twenty four Celtics were
- 14:18Speaker 5: like the deck just like cleared, and it's like all
- 14:21Speaker 5: these guys in the East get hurt and then you know, okay,
- 14:25Speaker 5: see he gets upset and it's like you don't win
- 14:27Speaker 5: it this year, then like when are you going to
- 14:29Speaker 5: win it? You know, And the Celtics took care of business.
- 14:31Speaker 4: But two coms of the Celtics that you just mentioned
- 14:35Speaker 4: in the nineteen Bruins which got the you know, the
- 14:39Speaker 4: easy path to the Stanley Cup finals and played an
- 14:41Speaker 4: inferior opponent in the final and lost to them. The
- 14:43Speaker 4: Celtics took care of business and won it. Someone's gonna,
- 14:47Speaker 4: you know, have a not an easy path in the
- 14:50Speaker 4: AFC because I think they're good teams. But when when
- 14:54Speaker 4: you eliminate the big boys like Borrow, Jackson and Mahomes,
- 14:58Speaker 4: it's an easier path than it might have been.
- 15:00Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 15:00Speaker 6: I saw a comment that that Connor mc McGovern, yeah
- 15:03Speaker 6: mc government center made that, you know, pointing out and
- 15:06Speaker 6: I mean he's right that teams like the Patriots and Bonick.
- 15:09Speaker 6: They don't really have a lot of big game experience,
- 15:13Speaker 6: you know, pressure packed experience in Buffalo does have that, and.
- 15:17Speaker 4: I kind of chuckled at some of that. They're trying
- 15:18Speaker 4: to like do what Fred does, like they're trying to
- 15:20Speaker 4: paint themselves out, like you know, no one believes in Okay,
- 15:23Speaker 4: all right, Buffalo. I mean you're the big dogs, like
- 15:27Speaker 4: people still think that you can win even though you're
- 15:30Speaker 4: in second place, so let's not try They're trying to
- 15:33Speaker 4: play the underdog role. I don't think it's working very much,
- 15:36Speaker 4: but good for him.
- 15:37Speaker 5: Well, I also think that it's kind of not totally
- 15:40Speaker 5: true because like Stefan Diggs has played in big games, right,
- 15:45Speaker 5: I haven't played in Buffalo in big games. You know.
- 15:47Speaker 5: A lot of the free agents, said the Patriots brought
- 15:49Speaker 5: in have played a Super Bowl, have played in big games.
- 15:53Speaker 5: So I agree that David Drake May hasn't played in
- 15:55Speaker 5: a playoff game. Yeah, yeah, that's true. I guess that's true.
- 16:00Speaker 5: Christian Gonzales. You know, also if you want to go
- 16:02Speaker 5: with some of the younger players on the Patriots roster.
- 16:04Speaker 5: But I think they did a nice job of bringing
- 16:06Speaker 5: in some veteran guys that do have some big game experience.
- 16:10Speaker 5: You know, Landry you know was in Tennessee during those
- 16:13Speaker 5: playoff runs. So I think they do have some. I mean,
- 16:17Speaker 5: it's maybe not a team like Buffalo that's been in
- 16:20Speaker 5: the playoffs for five straight years that has almost all
- 16:22Speaker 5: of it. But I don't know if there's none. You know,
- 16:27Speaker 5: when you take into account all the free agents that
- 16:29Speaker 5: they brought in, does.
- 16:31Speaker 2: The fact that Buffalo hasn't really well not has not
- 16:35Speaker 2: gotten the job done in any of those years mean
- 16:38Speaker 2: anything like yeah, you know you've been in big games,
- 16:40Speaker 2: but ultimately you didn't get it done well.
- 16:42Speaker 5: Can't keep on running at the Kansas City.
- 16:44Speaker 4: Yeah right, you dismissed them because of that because it's
- 16:48Speaker 4: all about you to win the Super Bowl.
- 16:50Speaker 3: You stink, right.
- 16:50Speaker 6: But if I'm Buffalo, I'm saying, this is our chance,
- 16:52Speaker 6: this is it, you know, like they're out of the way, like,
- 16:54Speaker 6: you know, if not now when probably only a matter
- 16:57Speaker 6: of time before Kansas City reloads.
- 16:59Speaker 7: I mean, I'm not dead.
- 17:01Speaker 4: So Buffalo, I think, is in a very similar situation
- 17:03Speaker 4: as Kansas City. This is a reset year for them.
- 17:06Speaker 4: They need to reload, you know. And Evans talks about
- 17:08Speaker 4: like Keon Coleman. That's the guy that Evan and I
- 17:11Speaker 4: sort of point out all the time. That's a big miss,
- 17:15Speaker 4: Like you need they need, what's their glaring need a
- 17:17Speaker 4: number one receiver. Khal is fine, he's not a number
- 17:21Speaker 4: one receiver. It's probably not even a two.
- 17:23Speaker 5: I don't know if it's as bad, but like Keon
- 17:26Speaker 5: Coleman's a little Nikhil harry Ish where like you needed
- 17:30Speaker 5: that big time playmaker and you drafted one pretty high
- 17:33Speaker 5: and you missed, you missed. And not only has he
- 17:36Speaker 5: not produced, but he also hasn't really been that great
- 17:39Speaker 5: of a.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Teammates missed off the field, yeah.
- 17:41Speaker 5: Yeah, and like these like missing meetings and stuff like that.
- 17:45Speaker 5: So they've had all sorts of issues with him. You know,
- 17:47Speaker 5: Shavers has kind of come out of nowhere and like
- 17:49Speaker 5: been like a saving grace for them because they they
- 17:52Speaker 5: haven't really had anything else on the outside. They like, yeah,
- 17:56Speaker 5: bring Gabe Davis back, you know, after his stint with
- 17:59Speaker 5: Jacksonville and they gets cut by Jacksonville and the Bills
- 18:03Speaker 5: bring him back. So it's been a little bit of
- 18:06Speaker 5: a of a miss in terms of that. And I
- 18:09Speaker 5: think that Brandon Bean and McDermott are very much on
- 18:12Speaker 5: the hot seat. I think Bill's mafia is.
- 18:14Speaker 4: I wonder if mc dermott's going to survive this. I do,
- 18:17Speaker 4: and I'm not telling you that he should go, but
- 18:20Speaker 4: I think that there's a chance that he does. I
- 18:22Speaker 4: think there's a real chance that you're going to have
- 18:25Speaker 4: big time coaching turmoil in the AFC. I think there's
- 18:27Speaker 4: a chance that tomlin In Harbaugh go to I.
- 18:31Speaker 5: Just think, like, if you're if you're Buffalo, I just
- 18:33Speaker 5: don't know how you don't clean house at that point,
- 18:36Speaker 5: because I think the roster is just as much to
- 18:38Speaker 5: blame as the coach, Like mcdermot's had his chances, and
- 18:41Speaker 5: so if you're going to move on from the coach,
- 18:42Speaker 5: it's going to be because of that.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Like, but can you really look at, you know, the
- 18:46Speaker 2: fact that Buffalo hasn't done at all and say it's
- 18:48Speaker 2: because of coaching?
- 18:50Speaker 4: I think so, Oh, I think people people would, Oh,
- 18:52Speaker 4: they would, But it's that fair. I don't know if
- 18:55Speaker 4: it's fair. But to Evan's point, I think it's more
- 18:58Speaker 4: on the coach than it is the GM. Now this
- 19:00Speaker 4: particular year, they're definitely short on talent in some spots.
- 19:04Speaker 4: But I also think that they've been really unlucky in
- 19:07Speaker 4: some of the talent they've acquired, but the coach can't
- 19:11Speaker 4: get them over the hump, right.
- 19:12Speaker 5: I don't think he's a bad coach, but like what
- 19:14Speaker 5: Paul just said, you know, is he the coach that's
- 19:17Speaker 5: going to get you to that next level? And when
- 19:19Speaker 5: you have the MVP of the league on your team,
- 19:21Speaker 5: you need to be at that next level. And it
- 19:23Speaker 5: just mcdermy might be the coach before the coach, Like,
- 19:25Speaker 5: if they get the right guy, then it might take off.
- 19:28Speaker 5: And I think you have to weigh that risk.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Well, it's a copycat league in this year. You know,
- 19:33Speaker 2: at least three teams that I can think of brought
- 19:35Speaker 2: in new coaches and had pretty good success.
- 19:38Speaker 4: You know, the three there's going to be three playoff
- 19:41Speaker 4: teams at least, right with Jacksonville, Chicago, Chicago and the
- 19:44Speaker 4: Patriots now Chicago. I think kind of teetering there.
- 19:48Speaker 5: Yeah, but it's a rough year.
- 19:50Speaker 4: It's roughly.
- 19:51Speaker 5: The coaching cycle doesn't look great like the available coaches.
- 19:53Speaker 7: What about Joe Brady is he?
- 19:55Speaker 6: I mean, you if you clean house, if you get
- 19:57Speaker 6: rid of McDermott, do you get a new offensive coordinator,
- 19:59Speaker 6: do you.
- 19:59Speaker 4: Put you well, likely he'll go. I mean, what are
- 20:03Speaker 4: the chances that a new coach is say no, I'm
- 20:05Speaker 4: going to keep you know, I would assume they generally
- 20:08Speaker 4: want their own guys.
- 20:09Speaker 5: I would assume they go. It would go offense too,
- 20:11Speaker 5: like their coach would be some Den Johnson whiz kid
- 20:14Speaker 5: that you know can coach up the.
- 20:16Speaker 4: Offense table will get brought up because of his relationship
- 20:19Speaker 4: with Alan Sure.
- 20:20Speaker 2: So I would like to see that Patriots practice yesterday.
- 20:25Speaker 2: We got the practice report and all the headlines on
- 20:27Speaker 2: Paul shows are.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Patriots are healthy?
- 20:30Speaker 2: Is that fair?
- 20:31Speaker 3: I mean with Milton Williams outy, Milt.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Campbell out and that's it. Stop but here, those are
- 20:36Speaker 2: two big players, you know, yeah.
- 20:38Speaker 4: But that's it. Everybody else came back. But I thought
- 20:41Speaker 4: that was a really encouraging practice.
- 20:43Speaker 5: It was one of the shortest it's been in a while.
- 20:45Speaker 5: You know, obviously this late in the season, that makes sense,
- 20:48Speaker 5: but it's a it was pretty short and like even
- 20:51Speaker 5: like Barmore, like he's on there, but like Barmore's thing
- 20:53Speaker 5: is different, like that's not an injury.
- 20:57Speaker 4: Every Wednesday, yeah.
- 20:58Speaker 5: And Thursday, for the most part. So it's just I
- 21:04Speaker 5: think really the only injury is what's going on at
- 21:06Speaker 5: running back with Terrell Jennings, and it's not a major thing.
- 21:09Speaker 5: I was talking to Alex about this off there earlier,
- 21:12Speaker 5: Like this Antonio Gibson injury has led to like a
- 21:15Speaker 5: big ripple effect on that room because like they've you know,
- 21:20Speaker 5: had to Earnis Johnson up from the practice squad. Then
- 21:22Speaker 5: they had Terrell Jennings up from the practice squad. Now
- 21:24Speaker 5: he's hurt and Johnson's out of elevation, so then he
- 21:27Speaker 5: needs to be signed to the roster to make him
- 21:29Speaker 5: eligible to play. So like they lost Antonio Gibson early
- 21:32Speaker 5: on in the season, and I think they've made probably
- 21:34Speaker 5: like a dozen transactions to try to cover that.
- 21:39Speaker 7: In yesterday, they're taking of practice squad are back.
- 21:44Speaker 4: It's just on this I understand it. There's not a
- 21:46Speaker 4: team in the league that wouldn't say, we'll deal with,
- 21:48Speaker 4: you know, having to worry about a third running back,
- 21:51Speaker 4: and we'll mix and match it. You know, we'll do
- 21:53Speaker 4: a couple of elevations for this guy. Then he's out
- 21:55Speaker 4: of elevations, we're gonna hold off. We're not gonna put
- 21:57Speaker 4: him on the Rod, We'll find another guy to put
- 21:59Speaker 4: some elevation is in and you know for the third run,
- 22:02Speaker 4: Like if Ray Davis wasn't playing in this game for
- 22:04Speaker 4: the Bills, you think they'd be losing sleep over.
- 22:06Speaker 5: I'm not losing carries someone that tracks all of these
- 22:11Speaker 5: things and writes about all these taction.
- 22:13Speaker 4: I'm not dismissing it as nothing, but every week it
- 22:16Speaker 4: kind of shows you how healthy they've been. Yeah, every week, I'm.
- 22:19Speaker 5: Writing about who the who's going to be the third
- 22:22Speaker 5: running back every week because it just has to change
- 22:24Speaker 5: because you have to write that up.
- 22:26Speaker 4: As much as you love to write the UH, I
- 22:28Speaker 4: do an active analysis.
- 22:30Speaker 5: I do that one not so much. Friday injury report
- 22:34Speaker 5: is low.
- 22:35Speaker 6: The abdomen I believe popped up on these report. I
- 22:38Speaker 6: mean that's and Harold Andry continues to be limited. So
- 22:41Speaker 6: that's to me, is is significant. I'm not sure he's
- 22:44Speaker 6: ever going to get if.
- 22:45Speaker 4: They were to lose Venerian low, that's significant. So now
- 22:47Speaker 4: you're really chipping away, and you know, I'm sure they
- 22:50Speaker 4: could they could scheme around it. But now you're talking
- 22:52Speaker 4: about some of these other teams. You're going down to
- 22:54Speaker 4: third and fourth tackles, fifth tackles.
- 22:56Speaker 2: That's when when you start having to scheme around your
- 22:58Speaker 2: left tackle, it's it's limiting you in your playbook.
- 23:02Speaker 4: Done it great though, they've done a great I think
- 23:03Speaker 4: Josh has done a great job of that all year.
- 23:06Speaker 4: It's such a contrast to what they did last year
- 23:09Speaker 4: when those guys both tackles were on islands like every
- 23:12Speaker 4: game and you see the difference between having a little
- 23:15Speaker 4: game plan that Evan's been talking about and that's how
- 23:19Speaker 4: you get by you just scheme around it.
- 23:20Speaker 6: Yeah, Buffalo two on their injury report, cool Bishop the
- 23:23Speaker 6: safety and Kink.
- 23:24Speaker 7: We're full.
- 23:25Speaker 6: Terrell Bernard, Joey Bosa, Spencer Brown, and Palmer were all limited,
- 23:30Speaker 6: but a bunch of guys that.
- 23:32Speaker 4: They didn't practice though walked through. It was a walk
- 23:34Speaker 4: through estimate.
- 23:35Speaker 5: So those four guys are the big big four right
- 23:38Speaker 5: now for Buffalo. They've been in and out. Spencer Brown
- 23:41Speaker 5: said yesterday to the idea that he's going to play,
- 23:44Speaker 5: but the last time we saw him with the bump shoulder,
- 23:47Speaker 5: Will Anderson was eating his lunch, So I don't know
- 23:51Speaker 5: what he's going to you know what level play, you
- 23:54Speaker 5: know he's going to be at when he comes back
- 23:56Speaker 5: from the injury. And then you know, Paul is kind
- 24:01Speaker 5: of sneaky, you know, fast receiver to get down the
- 24:04Speaker 5: field a little bit something they don't have a ton of.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Uh.
- 24:07Speaker 5: So Bernard's a huge part of their the second level
- 24:10Speaker 5: of their defense, their linebacker positions. So those guys have
- 24:14Speaker 5: been in and out of the lineup and Bosa to
- 24:16Speaker 5: uh and they need they're they're hoping that they come
- 24:20Speaker 5: back like those are not guys that they're overlooking and
- 24:23Speaker 5: like we are with Terrell Jennings and being like it's
- 24:26Speaker 5: the third running back. This is not that, this is
- 24:28Speaker 5: like starting caliber players.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Yeah, Barton Poland's in the hospital recovering and listening, So
- 24:34Speaker 2: get better soon.
- 24:36Speaker 3: I get what was wrong, but.
- 24:37Speaker 4: I hope it's nothing too serious, Well.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Not bad enough to keep them from the type. Yeah,
- 24:43Speaker 2: so we can type. So it wasn't his fingers. But
- 24:46Speaker 2: get better, someone's hospital, visit and talk to text.
- 24:53Speaker 7: Yeah I wrote it. I'm not only feeling better, I'm
- 24:58Speaker 7: feeling amazing.
- 24:59Speaker 3: People.
- 25:02Speaker 6: Dark friend Freddie Fields is dark Freddy Fields today, Freddie Fields.
- 25:10Speaker 7: He dies? He dies?
- 25:15Speaker 2: All right?
- 25:16Speaker 3: What else? What else?
- 25:19Speaker 4: I got you in my heart part? I'm sorry? I can't.
- 25:22Speaker 4: I can't speak for the rest of my my crew here.
- 25:26Speaker 4: That's that's just, that's that's tough.
- 25:28Speaker 3: It is.
- 25:32Speaker 4: What else?
- 25:33Speaker 3: What else? We got Bill's bills?
- 25:36Speaker 1: Bills they're playing.
- 25:37Speaker 4: I don't know do we have there's no I just
- 25:39Speaker 4: I thought that was good development yesterday with the practice
- 25:42Speaker 4: report and getting some guys, you know, Tonga and h
- 25:46Speaker 4: In Wilson being full.
- 25:47Speaker 11: Especially because Wednesday is the day where they always just
- 25:49Speaker 11: got those veterman and rests, like load management days.
- 25:53Speaker 7: But I just I'd ask Alex and Evan if they agreed.
- 25:56Speaker 7: Yesterday the locker room felt like it was packed.
- 25:59Speaker 6: It felt like a play off game kind of to me,
- 26:00Speaker 6: like it's just so much media and yeah, hopefully the
- 26:05Speaker 6: energy will continue.
- 26:06Speaker 7: Sorry, Fred, seeing that the window.
- 26:07Speaker 4: Is closing and no, no, no, no, no, read it again,
- 26:10Speaker 4: you're not making.
- 26:12Speaker 10: The window is closed.
- 26:14Speaker 3: According to Albert.
- 26:15Speaker 4: This is this is like Bruce and sometimes we get tired.
- 26:20Speaker 5: R bars red in the face. Right now, the window is.
- 26:26Speaker 4: Closing, but brought since the window never opened. Yeah, I've
- 26:30Speaker 4: never seen anybody hate a team the way he hates Buffalo.
- 26:33Speaker 5: It's great, it's good. It's a good contrast because you know,
- 26:36Speaker 5: I kind of have a soft spot for for Josh Allen,
- 26:38Speaker 5: so kind of it's it's a good contrast.
- 26:40Speaker 6: I mean, we just saw the Patriots go from four
- 26:42Speaker 6: wins to eleven wins, and a lot of that was
- 26:44Speaker 6: based on quarterback play. I don't understand how you can
- 26:46Speaker 6: rule out any of these teams with the quarterbacks, like.
- 26:49Speaker 7: You know, like it's season with Josh Allen and Boom.
- 26:53Speaker 4: I don't think it's all over for Baltimore and Kansas
- 26:55Speaker 4: City either, But if you wanted to make the argument
- 26:57Speaker 4: at six and seven for those two teams that this
- 26:59Speaker 4: is the beginning of the end, at least you have
- 27:02Speaker 4: something to go. Buffalo's nine and four. Like for all
- 27:05Speaker 4: the things that everybody says they can't do, and some
- 27:09Speaker 4: of them are true, like they can't stop the run
- 27:11Speaker 4: as one of them, they're nine and four. So I
- 27:15Speaker 4: don't know, like if it's the disaster that everybody else
- 27:18Speaker 4: makes Buffalo out to be, I don't think it's that bad.
- 27:22Speaker 2: I don't know if if you believe in SIMS. But
- 27:25Speaker 2: I got some bad news for some people Patriots fans. Chris, Yeah,
- 27:28Speaker 2: the Patriots Buffalo sim I thought.
- 27:33Speaker 4: We were talking about. I would have been much more
- 27:35Speaker 4: interested in Chris Sims, who has been a staunch Patriots
- 27:38Speaker 4: supporter all year.
- 27:39Speaker 3: The Patriots lost the simulation game.
- 27:41Speaker 4: Oh oh, well, you know what that means.
- 27:43Speaker 5: I have receiats on Chris Simms.
- 27:46Speaker 4: I mean in all series and stuffs. Is there anyone
- 27:48Speaker 4: you don't have a receipt on?
- 27:50Speaker 3: He's squints, as he says it. I have received.
- 27:54Speaker 5: Somebody that ranked Drake may is the sixth best quarterback
- 27:57Speaker 5: in his draft class.
- 27:59Speaker 7: Boom.
- 28:00Speaker 12: Well.
- 28:00Speaker 7: He always seemed really kind of hard on Brady and Bill.
- 28:02Speaker 6: I was always surprised by that initially, like he always was,
- 28:05Speaker 6: you know, having ranking had.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Something happened here.
- 28:08Speaker 3: You know, he worked here for a cup of coffee,
- 28:11Speaker 3: and I don't know if.
- 28:12Speaker 4: He's he came a season here and he spent more
- 28:15Speaker 4: time with us than with football, so I'm not sure
- 28:18Speaker 4: that was a good his career path. He would hang
- 28:22Speaker 4: out in the the old lunch room and play the
- 28:25Speaker 4: birthday game with us back in the day.
- 28:27Speaker 10: He still played the birthday game back then.
- 28:30Speaker 5: What's the birthday?
- 28:30Speaker 2: Yeah, Bob would go into the Boston Globe and find
- 28:34Speaker 2: out whose birthdays it was today, and you'd have to
- 28:36Speaker 2: guess how old.
- 28:37Speaker 3: How old.
- 28:39Speaker 10: Are going on decades?
- 28:42Speaker 4: Yeah, Chris spent a lot of time in the lunch
- 28:45Speaker 4: room with us. Great guy, was the immediately Fred Wright.
- 28:50Speaker 4: I think that that may have been an indication that
- 28:52Speaker 4: maybe wasn't going as well joing his actual job.
- 28:56Speaker 6: Did he still wear like the tight little button callers
- 28:58Speaker 6: that he that he's famous for?
- 29:00Speaker 4: Gotta love Patriots gear on all the time? Who's dressed like?
- 29:02Speaker 3: Not?
- 29:03Speaker 4: Not like you?
- 29:05Speaker 7: Was he like grilling you about media and what do
- 29:06Speaker 7: I gotta do? Paul? Talk to me? What can I
- 29:09Speaker 7: do to make a name for myself?
- 29:10Speaker 4: No, he was not growing me.
- 29:11Speaker 5: I have a controversial frankings sixty two.
- 29:15Speaker 7: No, wait, sixty one, sixty one.
- 29:18Speaker 4: You get two points for for hitting it on the head,
- 29:21Speaker 4: one point for me and the closest Jeopardy rules.
- 29:23Speaker 3: All right, well, we gotta do picks today, so we
- 29:25Speaker 3: gotta hurry. So let's get what.
- 29:27Speaker 4: Does jeopardy have to do with being over the strice?
- 29:30Speaker 2: Is right, but let's get people involved here sixty what
- 29:34Speaker 2: they have to say?
- 29:35Speaker 3: Stop talking? We'll go to the most interesting Patriots fan
- 29:39Speaker 3: in the world.
- 29:40Speaker 2: James Pettigrew was calling from Belize.
- 29:46Speaker 3: What's that are you getting?
- 29:47Speaker 7: Ready for me, James, I'm coming down.
- 29:50Speaker 13: I am getting ready for you.
- 29:51Speaker 7: All right, what are we doing?
- 29:52Speaker 13: We win a Super Bowl?
- 29:53Speaker 3: First? Okay, car dealership, I hate you that.
- 30:00Speaker 13: Unlike Fred, the main reason I'm calling is to slag
- 30:05Speaker 13: Evan off about analytics. Right now, what's going to get
- 30:08Speaker 13: into some argument about risk reward ratio. But what I
- 30:11Speaker 13: was thinking is a couple of years ago, one of
- 30:13Speaker 13: these NFL owners went to one of his Wall Street
- 30:16Speaker 13: mates who manages his money, and said, look, you've got
- 30:18Speaker 13: a lot of smart quantitative analysis. Why do you send
- 30:21Speaker 13: a few over to the football team. Because the first
- 30:24Speaker 13: thing about this is the smartest quantitative analysis in America
- 30:28Speaker 13: are not working for the NFL. They're working in Wall Street.
- 30:31Speaker 13: And any of these smart guys in the NFL, if
- 30:33Speaker 13: they can predict this stuff, why aren't they also working
- 30:36Speaker 13: on Wall Street. Now I can't see the kron Keys saying, oh,
- 30:40Speaker 13: this guy is really good quantitative analysis managing my money.
- 30:44Speaker 13: Let's send them to Sean McVay so he can help
- 30:47Speaker 13: with walk down conversion and that sort of thing. So
- 30:50Speaker 13: what you've got to ask these quantitive guys is why
- 30:53Speaker 13: aren't they working on Wall Street? And while are they
- 30:57Speaker 13: making loads of money. The last thing I think, which
- 30:59Speaker 13: is I think there's just a big stitch up between
- 31:02Speaker 13: Wall Street building the NFL is which team do you
- 31:07Speaker 13: think invest the most? And Analytics gets repeated rewards for
- 31:12Speaker 13: being the best team in analytics each year. If you
- 31:16Speaker 13: can't work it out, it's probably the easiest team you'd
- 31:19Speaker 13: want to pull the wool over their eyes and steal
- 31:21Speaker 13: money from.
- 31:22Speaker 5: What you're about to say is wrong, That's okay, go.
- 31:25Speaker 13: Ahead, No, No, well I was about to say it to
- 31:27Speaker 13: Cleveland Browns. Yeah, I know you're going to say that
- 31:30Speaker 13: in two thousand and three, two thousand and four, they
- 31:33Speaker 13: have the biggest staff and bigger that Look, this is
- 31:36Speaker 13: my only point. If these people are really brilliant, Evan,
- 31:39Speaker 13: why are they working on Wall Street making millions of
- 31:42Speaker 13: dollars and while the owners of these football teams taking
- 31:45Speaker 13: these brilliant people and saying, look, you can predict the future,
- 31:48Speaker 13: please look.
- 31:49Speaker 7: After my money.
- 31:51Speaker 5: Well maybe they just like football man.
- 31:54Speaker 3: No, they've always wanted to found a way to do it.
- 31:59Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, like, I don't know.
- 32:00Speaker 3: Like James, I love the argument, I don't know.
- 32:03Speaker 5: How like, why does any of us do any of
- 32:06Speaker 5: the jobs that we do because we we want to
- 32:08Speaker 5: work in the field that they want to work.
- 32:10Speaker 2: But if I had that brain, I'd be using it
- 32:12Speaker 2: to make a lot of money.
- 32:14Speaker 5: Yeah, but I would just say that. You know, he
- 32:17Speaker 5: brought up the Browns. They always are the team that
- 32:19Speaker 5: gets brought up.
- 32:20Speaker 2: You know.
- 32:21Speaker 5: Paul Deepadesta just left the Browns to go back to baseball.
- 32:24Speaker 5: The Philadelphia Eagles are the most analytically driven team in
- 32:27Speaker 5: football and they just won the Super Bowl. So uh
- 32:30Speaker 5: they their front office.
- 32:32Speaker 2: I thought they won because they had a good offensive
- 32:35Speaker 2: and defensive line.
- 32:36Speaker 5: I didn't say it was the only reason that they won.
- 32:38Speaker 5: I said that they are very analytically treated. They're off,
- 32:43Speaker 5: so uh yeah they Howie Roseman their front office. They
- 32:47Speaker 5: have a huge analytics staff. They do a lot of
- 32:50Speaker 5: number crunching there. Cleveland does as well, and it hasn't
- 32:54Speaker 5: paid dividends for Cleveland like it has for Philadelphia. There's
- 32:56Speaker 5: no doubt about that. Look I I we can argue
- 33:00Speaker 5: about this all the time if we want. All thirty
- 33:02Speaker 5: two teams have analytics departments. All thirty two teams are
- 33:06Speaker 5: investing in analytics. All thirty two teams are using analytics
- 33:09Speaker 5: to drive decision making. So I understand not everybody is
- 33:13Speaker 5: going to be into it. Not every people are going
- 33:15Speaker 5: to be reluctant to it, and that's totally fine. This
- 33:19Speaker 5: is now a part of sports and really all sports,
- 33:22Speaker 5: you know, until it isn't. I just the infrastructures that
- 33:27Speaker 5: they've built across the for major sports leagues to then
- 33:30Speaker 5: just rip it all down, it just seems pretty unrealistic
- 33:33Speaker 5: to me. I mean, maybe they start going away from
- 33:37Speaker 5: it at some point.
- 33:38Speaker 2: But it's just the amount of emphasis, that's all. It'll
- 33:41Speaker 2: always be part of it.
- 33:42Speaker 5: I think the amount of emphasis has made more of
- 33:44Speaker 5: a bigger deal in the media than it is internally.
- 33:47Speaker 5: Maybe with all the teams, I think we make a
- 33:49Speaker 5: bigger deal out of it than they do.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:52Speaker 2: So Ryan and Riley just writing about a University of
- 33:55Speaker 2: Pennsylvania article that supports me in my argument.
- 33:58Speaker 3: But that's all right. I'm not going to get it.
- 34:00Speaker 4: To it because modesty, yeah, prevents you from getting into it.
- 34:03Speaker 6: Yeah, I could I bring up a topic for discussion
- 34:05Speaker 6: that just the collective bargaining agreement and the officials.
- 34:09Speaker 7: Did you guys see that yesterday about this is all
- 34:11Speaker 7: we're talking about?
- 34:12Speaker 6: Yeah, this is apart from Tom Pealisaro yesterday, the NFL's
- 34:14Speaker 6: collective bargaining agreement with officials is set to expire on
- 34:17Speaker 6: May thirty first, and trade in Some told owners today
- 34:20Speaker 6: that talks on a new deal have been unsuccessful as
- 34:22Speaker 6: the league pushes for a performance based model. Areas of
- 34:25Speaker 6: focus for the NFL and any new deal include gonn
- 34:28Speaker 6: This come from Tom Pelisaro. The league tying compensation to performance,
- 34:32Speaker 6: greater flexibility, giving the best performing officials postseason assignments, access
- 34:37Speaker 6: to more practice reps, extended probationary period to assess game officials,
- 34:43Speaker 6: and flexibility to remove those who are underperforming, shortening the
- 34:46Speaker 6: dead period that currently runs from the Super Bowl through
- 34:49Speaker 6: May fifteenth, and increasing the number of game officials to
- 34:51Speaker 6: develop a deeper bench.
- 34:54Speaker 4: Interesting, the bench thing is something they really need. Sense
- 35:00Speaker 4: of this.
- 35:00Speaker 5: Whole thing is that the stems from the league wanting
- 35:04Speaker 5: the officials to have more behind the scenes practice and
- 35:10Speaker 5: not make them full time. But right now there's you
- 35:13Speaker 5: can't the officials have a window that they're quote unquote
- 35:17Speaker 5: off limits to the NFL, and it's from like send
- 35:21Speaker 5: of the Sea Bowl, and so they're trying to negotiate
- 35:26Speaker 5: having more time in that window to give reps to
- 35:31Speaker 5: officials to practice officiating. But the hang up is what's
- 35:36Speaker 5: in it for the officials, Like are you going to
- 35:38Speaker 5: pay the refs for their time?
- 35:41Speaker 3: They should?
- 35:41Speaker 4: And I think that.
- 35:42Speaker 5: Has been the part that has been failed to collectively bargain,
- 35:47Speaker 5: is that the league is probably saying, yeah, I'll give
- 35:49Speaker 5: you some some you know, jelly of the month club memberships,
- 35:53Speaker 5: and they're saying no, no, no, we will, especially.
- 35:55Speaker 11: If it's like it's like incentive based contracts for reps
- 35:58Speaker 11: on performance too.
- 36:00Speaker 10: That's probably a huge.
- 36:01Speaker 7: Hang up, right, yeah, negotiation.
- 36:03Speaker 2: I'm old enough to remember and sow it's everyone here.
- 36:06Speaker 2: But when this last happened, they had the hold out
- 36:09Speaker 2: or the lockout or it wasn't a strike, right, it
- 36:11Speaker 2: was twelve with the Remember the Patriots Ravens game. Wasn't
- 36:15Speaker 2: that the Seahawks.
- 36:16Speaker 4: The game that ultimoil that ultimately ended it. Yeah, that
- 36:19Speaker 4: call ultimately ended it. But Bill assaulted a guy in
- 36:22Speaker 4: the field against the raven against the Ravens.
- 36:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean they they screwed us.
- 36:27Speaker 5: Assaulted to a little.
- 36:29Speaker 7: But I kind of like he hit him. Yeah, this
- 36:33Speaker 7: felt like an at least hit him.
- 36:35Speaker 4: He hit his arm, punch him, but he made contact.
- 36:39Speaker 2: We went out to grab his arm. He needed to
- 36:42Speaker 2: get the guy was running away, come back and hit him.
- 36:45Speaker 3: Oh that's that's poor a journalism, Paul.
- 36:49Speaker 4: I didn't. I didn't say he punched him.
- 36:51Speaker 3: The ref he said he hit him.
- 36:52Speaker 4: He hit He didn't hit it in contact with him.
- 36:54Speaker 2: Okay, the ref was running away and he reached out
- 36:57Speaker 2: to grab his arm to get his attention.
- 36:59Speaker 4: Then bumped him.
- 37:00Speaker 3: No, that was our security card.
- 37:02Speaker 4: Oh no, oh no, that was That was a different time.
- 37:04Speaker 6: I left that one out, but I realized, this is
- 37:08Speaker 6: this the opening salvo of a negotiation.
- 37:10Speaker 7: But I at least in like the.
- 37:12Speaker 6: Fact that it seems like they're acknowledging that the performance
- 37:14Speaker 6: of the officials has not been acceptable in some instances
- 37:17Speaker 6: and that they're going to try try to take steps.
- 37:20Speaker 4: To you know, I thought I saw something recently that
- 37:24Speaker 4: they're working I think with the Big twelve, sort of
- 37:29Speaker 4: in conjunction with the Big twelve, trying to cultivate a bench,
- 37:33Speaker 4: you know, get some college guys that you know, are
- 37:36Speaker 4: looking to move up some kind of program, training program, program.
- 37:40Speaker 4: I just wonder, how like, how do you think twelve
- 37:42Speaker 4: would be a program you're right.
- 37:44Speaker 5: In Like March, they have like a summit and they're
- 37:47Speaker 5: like all right, like for a week, you guys are
- 37:48Speaker 5: going to come out and we're going to train you guys.
- 37:50Speaker 5: Oh there's no players, Like, so like what's the training that? Yeah,
- 37:54Speaker 5: Like it's not like a live game is happening, Like
- 37:56Speaker 5: are you going to the spring leagues? Like is that
- 38:00Speaker 5: where you're gonna.
- 38:00Speaker 4: Have never been a huge thing of everybody just automatically
- 38:03Speaker 4: blanket statement they need to be full time. Yeah, yeah,
- 38:06Speaker 4: And I just don't think that that's a fix, you know.
- 38:08Speaker 3: So what would Paul, what would your fix be?
- 38:11Speaker 4: They need to get better. I mean, there's no question
- 38:13Speaker 4: about that. But I like, but I like some of
- 38:15Speaker 4: the stuff that that Pallisera is reporting about performance. I know,
- 38:18Speaker 4: but like like there needs to be repercussions when you
- 38:20Speaker 4: call that play an incomplete past the other right, like
- 38:23Speaker 4: that replay guy who did nothing but mumbo jumbo and
- 38:26Speaker 4: his pool report needs to be called on the carpet
- 38:29Speaker 4: for that.
- 38:29Speaker 3: I hear that.
- 38:30Speaker 2: So do you think that makes them better? Like having
- 38:32Speaker 2: that threat that over their head hanging over their head?
- 38:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I do when there's repercussions. So when you when
- 38:38Speaker 4: you do this, you better be right. But when you're
- 38:40Speaker 4: when you're turning over these.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Plays, oh, I know. Currently they are graded after every game.
- 38:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I think there needs to be more into that.
- 38:46Speaker 4: I think the expedited replay has worked for the most
- 38:49Speaker 4: the most part, I would agree.
- 38:50Speaker 3: I think that.
- 38:51Speaker 5: Hasn't made it a little bit better. You know, just
- 38:54Speaker 5: let's just get the obvious. It's gonna happen. It's fast,
- 38:58Speaker 5: the game moves really quick. It's hard to officiate, so
- 39:01Speaker 5: let's just get the obvious ones correcta see.
- 39:04Speaker 2: I think you know, and I joke about virtual reality,
- 39:06Speaker 2: but I do think there is a way to train
- 39:09Speaker 2: in the off season without a live game and using
- 39:14Speaker 2: virtual reality and giving them you know, you have two
- 39:17Speaker 2: seconds to make that call. You know, you're whether you're
- 39:20Speaker 2: wearing goggles or not, you're seeing it somehow and you
- 39:23Speaker 2: have to make the call. You're timed for accuracy, for speed.
- 39:27Speaker 2: I think there is a way to train now now nothing.
- 39:30Speaker 4: It can't hurt it. Training can't hurt, and.
- 39:33Speaker 2: You know that lends itself to Okay, make them full
- 39:35Speaker 2: time and make them train for all the time.
- 39:37Speaker 11: I don't know what if there were like a couple
- 39:41Speaker 11: that could be made full time, but you have to
- 39:43Speaker 11: earn it, and it's not just everyone's full time today,
- 39:46Speaker 11: but you can achieve tenured status or you achieve a
- 39:50Speaker 11: certain level. It encourages guys to put more work in
- 39:52Speaker 11: because they want to do that. But it's also not
- 39:55Speaker 11: just throwing money at everyone.
- 39:57Speaker 2: You know, so possibly, but it's got to be consistent
- 40:00Speaker 2: for every game, you know, So if you're going to
- 40:02Speaker 2: do that, then the crew has to be like, yeah,
- 40:04Speaker 2: at least one, you know, a minimum of two full
- 40:08Speaker 2: timers per game.
- 40:11Speaker 5: I think the expedited replay to me, is just it's
- 40:14Speaker 5: the way if we can perfect what it can and can't.
- 40:18Speaker 2: I agree, like why can't they?
- 40:20Speaker 3: It should be, you know, be better.
- 40:22Speaker 5: It should be absolutely everything everything that happens, I agree,
- 40:26Speaker 5: should be able to Hey, you call DPI spot foul
- 40:30Speaker 5: on this play. It's not DPI. We're picking up the flag,
- 40:33Speaker 5: you know, first and ten from the twenty five. Let's
- 40:35Speaker 5: go like, I don't know why that needs to be
- 40:38Speaker 5: And you.
- 40:39Speaker 11: Know they don't want to be like embarrassed or it's
- 40:41Speaker 11: like it feels like an ego thing because why wouldn't you?
- 40:43Speaker 5: But isn't it more embarrassing to get it wrong, Yeah,
- 40:45Speaker 5: because then it becomes a national story that they blew
- 40:48Speaker 5: some calls.
- 40:48Speaker 6: So like, yeah, as a as a referee myself, like
- 40:51Speaker 6: you just want to get it right, like you know,
- 40:52Speaker 6: if I was wrong or I missed something, or I
- 40:54Speaker 6: was late to something.
- 40:55Speaker 7: And I'm thinking a lot about like these.
- 40:56Speaker 6: You know, hockey ref seminars that have to do online,
- 40:59Speaker 6: and you know, it's a lot of like what we're
- 41:00Speaker 6: talking about getting reps and there's you know, we'll always
- 41:03Speaker 6: do segments in those seminars where they'll put a play
- 41:05Speaker 6: up and then they'll say, all right, what do you got?
- 41:07Speaker 6: And then in the chat, but you'll see and maybe
- 41:09Speaker 6: this is a hockey thing because I think hockey it's like,
- 41:11Speaker 6: all right, you could get an interference on that, that
- 41:13Speaker 6: could be a hook, you know, like there's some gray
- 41:15Speaker 6: area between the calls. But it's always interesting to me
- 41:17Speaker 6: how even the refs, everybody sees it a little different,
- 41:20Speaker 6: you know, and you know, what might be a major
- 41:22Speaker 6: penalty in hockey to some people, might you know, I
- 41:24Speaker 6: only got a minor on that one, you know, so
- 41:26Speaker 6: it is a little bit subjective, and I just and
- 41:28Speaker 6: that's how they do it. I imagine that's what the reps
- 41:31Speaker 6: do for the NFL, Like they probably do these same
- 41:33Speaker 6: kind of zoom calls where they play some videos and
- 41:35Speaker 6: they show stuff, but there's no replication of live game
- 41:39Speaker 6: reps and doing it live and having to make the
- 41:41Speaker 6: call and seeing it quick and recognizing it.
- 41:44Speaker 7: But it's it's it's a really hard job.
- 41:46Speaker 6: I just hope they can get to a point where
- 41:47Speaker 6: we all just feel like it's on the level.
- 41:49Speaker 7: And I think there have been times this year where
- 41:51Speaker 7: it hasn't fault on that.
- 41:52Speaker 2: I agree with Belichick when he said make everything reviewable.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Don't increase the number of times a team can review.
- 41:59Speaker 2: Make keep you can ca that's the same, but they
- 42:01Speaker 2: can challenge anything.
- 42:04Speaker 5: Yeah. I think the one thing that you might get
- 42:07Speaker 5: an advantage for with more experience is like holding, like
- 42:11Speaker 5: in the trenches offensive and defensive line.
- 42:14Speaker 2: You know, guys will use certain.
- 42:15Speaker 5: Techniques on the offensive line or you know, pass rush
- 42:18Speaker 5: moves or whatever, and it it like might look like
- 42:21Speaker 5: a hold, but like the guys that play the game
- 42:24Speaker 5: or have played the game would are like, that's not holding, right, Like,
- 42:27Speaker 5: you know, that's a rip move. He ripped through and
- 42:29Speaker 5: now he's in a compromised position, so it looks like holding,
- 42:32Speaker 5: but he did that to himself, like he put him there.
- 42:35Speaker 5: So maybe if you had some of this more full
- 42:37Speaker 5: time training, like these referees would know what a rip
- 42:40Speaker 5: move is and would understand like when that happens, like
- 42:43Speaker 5: that's not a hold, or like now it's the big
- 42:45Speaker 5: one is the snatch move where the guy just kind
- 42:47Speaker 5: of pulls the guy forward and you know, pulls the
- 42:49Speaker 5: table out from underneath him, and they're calling that holds
- 42:52Speaker 5: a lot of the time. But that's like a technique
- 42:54Speaker 5: that's being coached to the offensive line. So that's like
- 42:57Speaker 5: a football play, Like that's not you know, it's not
- 43:00Speaker 5: like holding, like when you get outside the frame and
- 43:02Speaker 5: you're pulling guys down. So I wonder if maybe some
- 43:05Speaker 5: of those things, like well, what.
- 43:06Speaker 2: Would you think about the incorporation of the delayed call,
- 43:10Speaker 2: so in other words, like lacrosse flags down, But if
- 43:14Speaker 2: it yeah, if it doesn't have any bearing on the play, okay,
- 43:19Speaker 2: forget it, and they do the same thing.
- 43:20Speaker 3: All right, I saw this hold way over there. I'm
- 43:23Speaker 3: gonna throw the flag delayed call.
- 43:25Speaker 2: But at the end of the play, if it didn't
- 43:27Speaker 2: have anything to do with the play, then I'll pick
- 43:31Speaker 2: it up.
- 43:31Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 43:32Speaker 7: Yeah, so there was a I hate it.
- 43:34Speaker 4: I like to I could hear more about it, because.
- 43:37Speaker 5: There was a play for the Patriots a couple of
- 43:39Speaker 5: weeks ago that Jack Westover got called for a hole
- 43:41Speaker 5: that wiped out like a twenty yard run, and as
- 43:45Speaker 5: the ball was already like ten yards past Jack Westover,
- 43:48Speaker 5: he took out, he took down his guy.
- 43:50Speaker 4: But I also think it was a bad call, and well.
- 43:52Speaker 5: But that but the point that I'm trying to make
- 43:54Speaker 5: is that not only was that kind of an if
- 43:56Speaker 5: he call it also but he already blocked the guy
- 43:59Speaker 5: like it had no bearing whatsoever on the play. But
- 44:03Speaker 5: maybe by the letter of the LAE it was a hold,
- 44:05Speaker 5: but it was a hole that happened ten yards away
- 44:08Speaker 5: from the actual ball.
- 44:10Speaker 2: And maybe maybe okay, so maybe on these delayed calls,
- 44:14Speaker 2: you know, it doesn't have a bearing, so you don't
- 44:17Speaker 2: negate the play. But the player that committed the penalty
- 44:20Speaker 2: has to sit out of play.
- 44:22Speaker 5: So they played ten on eleven.
- 44:23Speaker 2: No, you could substitute, but no, it could be your
- 44:26Speaker 2: left You can sit on the side.
- 44:29Speaker 3: Play.
- 44:29Speaker 2: Yes, it could be your best left tackle that has
- 44:32Speaker 2: to sit out of play because you.
- 44:36Speaker 6: Know, it's a little like the uncatchable thing, you know,
- 44:39Speaker 6: where it's like it would have been but he wasn't catchable.
- 44:41Speaker 4: They don't seem to call that anymore, and like, I
- 44:44Speaker 4: hate That's one of my rules that I hate the most,
- 44:46Speaker 4: just because I've seen too many ridiculous catches.
- 44:49Speaker 5: Yeah, you just don't know.
- 44:51Speaker 4: Can I ask you when you go to practice during
- 44:54Speaker 4: the course of the season, is there ever any refs
- 44:56Speaker 4: out there?
- 44:57Speaker 5: Not during the course of the season.
- 44:58Speaker 4: So I was watching whatever the version of hard knocks
- 45:02Speaker 4: in season is.
- 45:02Speaker 7: Is that what they call it now?
- 45:03Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 45:04Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's an NFC East. I was watching
- 45:07Speaker 4: the Giants a little bit. It was the week the
- 45:10Speaker 4: Patriots were playing the Giants, and there was an official
- 45:13Speaker 4: out there. I didn't remember there being officials at practices
- 45:16Speaker 4: during the course of the season, but this was might
- 45:18Speaker 4: be a way. Yeah, Like Jackson Dartt was talking to
- 45:20Speaker 4: the one of the offensive coaches and it was a ref.
- 45:24Speaker 5: I've never seen a ref in uniform. Maybe they're coming
- 45:28Speaker 5: and hanging out and saying, like, you know, so guys
- 45:31Speaker 5: can off to the side can say hey, like I
- 45:33Speaker 5: got a question for you, like, you know, is this
- 45:35Speaker 5: is this holding or is that I.
- 45:37Speaker 4: Also wonder if it was an actual current NFL ref
- 45:40Speaker 4: or maybe someone.
- 45:41Speaker 5: Jean Horror was there.
- 45:42Speaker 4: Yeah, like maybe someone who's looking to work his way
- 45:45Speaker 4: up and he's trying to get some practices, you know whatever.
- 45:48Speaker 6: I'd kind of like to see that the elimination of
- 45:50Speaker 6: that points of emphasis where you get in the preseason
- 45:52Speaker 6: and everybody's getting called for this one random penalty, and.
- 45:56Speaker 4: Then you get to the season and it kind of
- 45:58Speaker 4: that would be part of the whole thing. We've gone
- 46:01Speaker 4: a while on this, but just simplifying the rule book
- 46:05Speaker 4: a little bit, and like I've kind of ranted a
- 46:09Speaker 4: little bit about the two guys in motion, right so
- 46:12Speaker 4: now the second guy is finishing his shift and he's
- 46:15Speaker 4: not quite set for a full second flag, Like can
- 46:19Speaker 4: we eliminate these things? You know? Can we allow the
- 46:22Speaker 4: tackle to maybe be offset a little bit from time
- 46:25Speaker 4: to time as long as he's not egregiously in the backfield,
- 46:28Speaker 4: like if he's like way behind, everybody call that. But
- 46:33Speaker 4: those rules were all put in play to clarify things
- 46:37Speaker 4: for the defense. That's why there was the sort of
- 46:40Speaker 4: implementation of like you need seven guys on the line
- 46:43Speaker 4: of scrimmage and there's only certain amount of guys that
- 46:45Speaker 4: are eligible. Was all to make things a little bit
- 46:47Speaker 4: easier for the defense to understand who they had to cover.
- 46:51Speaker 4: Like if the tackle is a little bit off set,
- 46:55Speaker 4: no one thinks, well, he's off the line, he's eligible,
- 46:59Speaker 4: Like you're not. You know, I understand you're getting an
- 47:02Speaker 4: advantage in pass protection because that's why the guys do it,
- 47:05Speaker 4: is because they don't trust their past sets and whatnot.
- 47:08Speaker 4: But some of those little things, I think they could
- 47:11Speaker 4: make it a lot easier for the referees them because
- 47:13Speaker 4: it's not an easy thing to do. As much criticism
- 47:15Speaker 4: as I give my I recognize that it's a hard
- 47:18Speaker 4: sport to officiate.
- 47:19Speaker 5: I think the offensive line alignment thing is important because
- 47:23Speaker 5: of what it gives them a head start. But the
- 47:26Speaker 5: one that bugs me the most, that wipes out more
- 47:29Speaker 5: big plays across the league is the illegal shift. Yes,
- 47:32Speaker 5: and I still have not heard a great explanation as
- 47:35Speaker 5: to what major advantage the offense is getting that Hunter
- 47:40Speaker 5: Henry is like finishing his shift in his like feet
- 47:44Speaker 5: aren't totally set, and that somehow is some huge advantage
- 47:47Speaker 5: to the offense.
- 47:48Speaker 2: Also, what we're seeing though, is people like making that mistake.
- 47:53Speaker 2: If you eliminate the rule, now think of what teams
- 47:56Speaker 2: can do well.
- 47:57Speaker 5: But I think the important part of the.
- 48:01Speaker 3: What's the big deal have three guys in motion?
- 48:03Speaker 4: Oh no, no, you'll only have one guy in motion at
- 48:05Speaker 4: a time.
- 48:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:05Speaker 5: The important part of the rule that is in that
- 48:08Speaker 5: needs to stay in is that you can't be motioning
- 48:10Speaker 5: towards the line of scrimmage. Is an arena football, right,
- 48:13Speaker 5: you can't get a running start at the line of scrimmage.
- 48:16Speaker 5: But he's not getting a running start.
- 48:17Speaker 4: He's that play in the Monday night game that wiped
- 48:20Speaker 4: out a touchdown that had nothing to do with the play.
- 48:23Speaker 5: It has more big plays get taken off the board
- 48:25Speaker 5: because of illegal shifts than any other penalty that that
- 48:29Speaker 5: like that you know, pre snap procedural penalty.
- 48:31Speaker 4: I think they can simplify things.
- 48:33Speaker 2: And you know, and then not the least all catch
- 48:35Speaker 2: with the all the mobile quarterbacks extending plays is the
- 48:38Speaker 2: ineligible man down field too.
- 48:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:40Speaker 3: That's another one.
- 48:41Speaker 5: Yeah, and now when I you know that's that rule
- 48:43Speaker 5: is different from the college rule, which I like because
- 48:46Speaker 5: in college you get these RPOs or these linemen are
- 48:48Speaker 5: like eight yards down the field. It's like, this is ridiculous, Like,
- 48:51Speaker 5: how are you supposed to defend that? But now you're right,
- 48:54Speaker 5: you know, there was a play I think it might
- 48:57Speaker 5: have been the Giants game too, where Drake slid in
- 49:01Speaker 5: bounds and took a sack and it was a screen,
- 49:04Speaker 5: it was supposed to be a screen and the screen
- 49:06Speaker 5: got blown up. But he couldn't throw the past because
- 49:09Speaker 5: there was linemen down the field. So if he had
- 49:12Speaker 5: thrown the pass then he would have gotten called for
- 49:14Speaker 5: a legal man down the field. So instead of having
- 49:16Speaker 5: to throw the ball away, he ended up taking a hit,
- 49:19Speaker 5: you know, in a sack to you know, not avoid
- 49:22Speaker 5: the to avoid the penalties. So that rule I kind
- 49:25Speaker 5: of liked. But the shifts need to they need to
- 49:27Speaker 5: do something about the shifting. It's ridiculous.
- 49:29Speaker 2: All right, let's see what people have to say. Sam's
- 49:32Speaker 2: an Easton. Hey Sam, Hey you guys, that's going.
- 49:38Speaker 12: Good.
- 49:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 49:39Speaker 14: I had a question for you guys, but first I
- 49:41Speaker 14: wanted to say shout out to Ludlow. I know Alex
- 49:45Speaker 14: is from there. I'm from Wolverham initially, and I heard
- 49:47Speaker 14: you guys snickering about Western Mass a little bit last
- 49:49Speaker 14: week A little bit, Yeah, but.
- 49:59Speaker 2: The mass considered central Mass or is that Western Mass?
- 50:04Speaker 2: Western Western?
- 50:06Speaker 14: Yeah? But I want to know, like what your guys
- 50:10Speaker 14: game day was like and the element of being a
- 50:12Speaker 14: fan having to miss out on you know, watching with
- 50:15Speaker 14: your friends, tailgating, having beers. What's that like for you guys.
- 50:20Speaker 14: I've always wondered that.
- 50:22Speaker 4: Well, from my experience, what's the worst part of the
- 50:26Speaker 4: job for you?
- 50:27Speaker 6: No, well, I mean when I started this, like blogging
- 50:30Speaker 6: and stuff, like, I was in California by myself, and
- 50:32Speaker 6: that was why I love Twitter back then, just because
- 50:34Speaker 6: that was my connection. But a lot of the games
- 50:35Speaker 6: I would watch by myself, Like I would work for
- 50:37Speaker 6: Bleacher Report doing live blogs during the game, and so
- 50:40Speaker 6: I didn't really like there were times when I went
- 50:41Speaker 6: to the bar and watch with people, but I never
- 50:43Speaker 6: really I mean other than growing watching games growing up
- 50:46Speaker 6: with my family, you know, I never really had like
- 50:48Speaker 6: a group of.
- 50:48Speaker 7: Guys that we went into Patriot games and watch.
- 50:50Speaker 6: I mean, I am jealous when I walked through the
- 50:52Speaker 6: parking lot and I think, man, it'd be great to
- 50:53Speaker 6: just have a couple of drinks and a sausage and
- 50:56Speaker 6: you know, watch the game and not.
- 50:58Speaker 7: Have to worry about, you know, working. But it's I mean,
- 51:00Speaker 7: it's different, but I enjoy it in a different way.
- 51:03Speaker 4: We were driving in today I had you know, I
- 51:05Speaker 4: mentioned my son's here today and he went to the
- 51:08Speaker 4: Monday night game against the Giants. He went with my
- 51:10Speaker 4: brother in law and my nephew. They had about twelve
- 51:12Speaker 4: of them. Right, So we're driveing in just now and
- 51:15Speaker 4: he's like, yeah, we were right over there. He goes,
- 51:16Speaker 4: it was like absolutely electric. It was such a cool night.
- 51:20Speaker 4: The vibe was so cool, and you know, they had
- 51:22Speaker 4: all this food and stuff. And that's to answer the
- 51:25Speaker 4: question in one sentence. I was jealous of my son,
- 51:28Speaker 4: you know, like just being able to enjoy it that way.
- 51:30Speaker 4: It's been a long time.
- 51:31Speaker 5: I watched the first sixteen years of the Dynasty with
- 51:34Speaker 5: my dad, and then I started covering the team in
- 51:37Speaker 5: two thousand and eight.
- 51:39Speaker 4: So like to make a documentary about it.
- 51:42Speaker 5: Doubt for both of us, that was hard, Like it
- 51:44Speaker 5: was hard to Now I'm working on Sunday and he's
- 51:48Speaker 5: at home watching the game, and we literally every Sunday
- 51:51Speaker 5: it was me and him on the on the couch
- 51:54Speaker 5: watching every page.
- 51:55Speaker 2: I regret the boast is I haven't been able to
- 51:58Speaker 2: cheer for the Patriots, and over thirty years, Fred.
- 52:01Speaker 7: You're sure for the pat during the game. I see
- 52:04Speaker 7: we sit next to you in the press.
- 52:09Speaker 3: Okay, I'm more professional than.
- 52:12Speaker 4: I will say that you stay reasonably quiet?
- 52:15Speaker 2: Do you hear it?
- 52:16Speaker 3: Because you're sitting next to the reason.
- 52:17Speaker 4: But it's more in your point, it's really more about
- 52:20Speaker 4: when bad things it's.
- 52:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I do that.
- 52:24Speaker 2: There's a lot of heavy sign there is. There's a
- 52:26Speaker 2: lot of heavy sign.
- 52:26Speaker 5: That's when I get nervous when Fred starts heavy signing.
- 52:29Speaker 2: I'm like, uh, yeah, there's a lot of heavy nothing.
- 52:33Speaker 4: You know, back to the officials, there's nothing like the
- 52:36Speaker 4: meaningless defensive hole call on third down against the Patriots
- 52:40Speaker 4: on the complete opposite side of the field.
- 52:42Speaker 3: But ridiculous.
- 52:45Speaker 4: And then he just like goes back.
- 52:46Speaker 3: To well, then I have to tell you that's ridiculous.
- 52:51Speaker 3: All right, thanks Sam.
- 52:53Speaker 6: Against the Giants, there was somebody from I don't know
- 52:55Speaker 6: if this Joint Giants organization or in the press corps,
- 52:57Speaker 6: but like on that would they take the first touchdown
- 52:59Speaker 6: to they score the they scored first or something, don't know,
- 53:01Speaker 6: they had a touchdown for right, they were all stunned,
- 53:03Speaker 6: and they were.
- 53:03Speaker 7: And well, no, he was kind of like there we go.
- 53:05Speaker 7: And then he like went down the line and like
- 53:07Speaker 7: kind of like what tapping everybody here?
- 53:09Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 53:09Speaker 6: Yeah, And then I just watched like the slow descent
- 53:11Speaker 6: into a loss, like you know, and like by the
- 53:13Speaker 6: end he's just like face bombing on the desk.
- 53:15Speaker 10: We had a lot of funny and I had a
- 53:17Speaker 10: lot of and a show.
- 53:18Speaker 11: Had a lot of like giants guys right behind us
- 53:20Speaker 11: on like the dining chairs and stuff, and they were
- 53:23Speaker 11: pretty quiet, like they weren't like really cheering.
- 53:25Speaker 10: But once the Marcus Jones play happened, we were.
- 53:28Speaker 3: Just like yeah, yeah, like so where we sit.
- 53:34Speaker 2: We're on the third level. It's tears. There's three tiers
- 53:36Speaker 2: and we're on the third level and if you go
- 53:39Speaker 2: down and to our right is almost the visiting team PR.
- 53:43Speaker 2: So I was when there's a good play, I was,
- 53:47Speaker 2: see what's going on down there?
- 53:48Speaker 4: It's nothing if not a gracious winner.
- 53:50Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 53:51Speaker 6: It's always interesting in the press. Like just last you know,
- 53:54Speaker 6: last game, we had you know, John Marra walks through,
- 53:56Speaker 6: you know, we get held up, but yeah, happened, you know, you.
- 53:59Speaker 5: See the GMS elevator for the ownership group, Like we
- 54:04Speaker 5: got a job to do, you're in my way, Like
- 54:06Speaker 5: now we have to wait for the elevator and like
- 54:08Speaker 5: then you're late to the press conferences because the maras
- 54:11Speaker 5: had to go through. It's like, can we get it
- 54:14Speaker 5: of the team?
- 54:15Speaker 7: Jerry Jones was a good one whenever the Cowboys were here.
- 54:17Speaker 6: Remember that when we were like coming in after the
- 54:18Speaker 6: pregame show and like all of a sudden, it's just
- 54:21Speaker 6: a mob of people, Jerry Jones going up. But it
- 54:25Speaker 6: was weird to me that they sit in the press
- 54:27Speaker 6: boxes that just access to like as.
- 54:32Speaker 2: To get to.
- 54:34Speaker 3: Or wherever their VIP sedan is they have to go through.
- 54:39Speaker 10: It's always weird for all their security. It's right out
- 54:41Speaker 10: here's how they all get out.
- 54:43Speaker 7: Strange to see, like, you know, even when I see
- 54:45Speaker 7: Elliott Wolf, like you know, in the halftime and you're
- 54:47Speaker 7: like like.
- 54:49Speaker 10: Every week, you're just like they're getting into.
- 54:53Speaker 2: The meadowlands or whatever they call it now at halftime,
- 54:58Speaker 2: the visiting team literally has to sprint through the press
- 55:02Speaker 2: box to get down to the locker rooms and you know,
- 55:06Speaker 2: so that they can be there for the halftime whatever
- 55:08Speaker 2: they're doing, you know, but it's a mad dash for them.
- 55:12Speaker 3: Maybe we should in the Jersey.
- 55:14Speaker 7: You can just.
- 55:16Speaker 3: Nate's in Connecticut. What's up, Nate? Nate, it's up night,
- 55:23Speaker 3: It's not all right?
- 55:25Speaker 10: All right, take a break, break and we just missed them.

- 59:45Speaker 20: got away from the cold for a little bit. I
- 59:48Speaker 20: actually kind of missed it. Came back and it was exciting. Yeah,

- 59:55Speaker 6: Yeah, we were in the locker room today and I

- 1:00:07Speaker 6: a little optic here. As we get into December and
- 1:00:08Speaker 6: things start to, you know, get a little bit more serious.
- 1:00:10Speaker 20: Yeah, definitely. I mean we'really just trying to take it,
- 1:00:12Speaker 20: you know, game by game. I mean we're we're just
- 1:00:15Speaker 20: excited to play. I think that's that's why the energy
- 1:00:18Speaker 20: is a little different. You know, we we haven't played
- 1:00:20Speaker 20: in a week, so pretty much two weeks then we'll play.
- 1:00:25Speaker 20: But you know, we're just excited just to go out
- 1:00:27Speaker 20: there and have fun.
- 1:00:29Speaker 5: You mentioned you missed the cold.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: Yes, we don't miss the cold.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: I think it's just because I'm new to it.
- 1:00:36Speaker 20: But you know, it was I think it was like
- 1:00:38Speaker 20: eighty five degrees on there, nice and I was like,
- 1:00:40Speaker 20: I was like, dang, like kind of kind of missed
- 1:00:43Speaker 20: when it was a little chilly.
- 1:00:45Speaker 5: I like that. I like that. What goes into preparing
- 1:00:48Speaker 5: to kicking these conditions though? Up here? Obviously cold winds, snow.
- 1:00:53Speaker 5: Does it change anything about how you approach your job?
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: Not much.
- 1:00:58Speaker 20: Just really just be aware of of like your surroundings,
- 1:01:01Speaker 20: like the weather, of the wind, whatever it is, you know,
- 1:01:04Speaker 20: because that's something I can't control, so it's not something
- 1:01:07Speaker 20: that I can really I guess plan for or prepare
- 1:01:11Speaker 20: for to really just go out there and keep my
- 1:01:14Speaker 20: same routine and just adjust to whatever, you know, temperature, weather,
- 1:01:19Speaker 20: however it is, just adjust to it.
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: Does it help practicing in the stadium? You guys kick
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: in the stadium pretty frequently? Does that help with like
- 1:01:27Speaker 5: you know the wind direction and all that stuff and
- 1:01:29Speaker 5: kind of knowing that for game day?
- 1:01:30Speaker 20: Yeah, definitely, especially like if it's like a really windy day,
- 1:01:34Speaker 20: We'll go in the stadium and you know, just hit
- 1:01:36Speaker 20: a couple and then you know, feel it out and
- 1:01:39Speaker 20: it definitely gives me an advantage just because I know
- 1:01:43Speaker 20: the tendencies of the wind in that stadium and stuff
- 1:01:47Speaker 20: like that.
- 1:01:48Speaker 7: Bill's coming back around.
- 1:01:49Speaker 6: Probably the biggest kick your season was against these guys
- 1:01:51Speaker 6: last time. Just how you develop that skill as a
- 1:01:54Speaker 6: kicker when you come on and you know it's a
- 1:01:56Speaker 6: it's a big kick. How do you maintain your focus
- 1:01:59Speaker 6: and you know, just being able to avoid the pressure
- 1:02:02Speaker 6: of all that.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: I mean realistically, I just try to, you know, stay
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: level headed.
- 1:02:07Speaker 20: I like to say, like just stay neutral, don't get
- 1:02:10Speaker 20: too high, don't get too low, and really just go
- 1:02:13Speaker 20: out there and you know, I'm I'm here for a reason.
- 1:02:16Speaker 20: You know, God, God put me in this position to
- 1:02:19Speaker 20: you know, showcase what the blessings that he gave me
- 1:02:22Speaker 20: and just trying to be a blessing and go out
- 1:02:24Speaker 20: there and do my job.
- 1:02:25Speaker 6: Was it was a process for you being able to
- 1:02:27Speaker 6: do that, you know, when you started your career, started
- 1:02:29Speaker 6: playing this game as a young guy. And I mean,
- 1:02:31Speaker 6: is it you know, is that a skill you can
- 1:02:33Speaker 6: work on? That mental toughness.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: I feel like you can. You definitely can.
- 1:02:39Speaker 20: But you know there's there's some aspect where it's definitely
- 1:02:43Speaker 20: just inherited. I guess you could say, you know, because
- 1:02:45Speaker 20: some people you know, just can't handle it. I guess
- 1:02:47Speaker 20: you could say, and some people can handle it better
- 1:02:50Speaker 20: than others. But you know, in the position that that
- 1:02:53Speaker 20: I chose to play, you know, it happens to it
- 1:02:58Speaker 20: comes with a job, right, But yeah, it's exciting though.
- 1:03:02Speaker 5: Yeah, going back to that that Week five kick again,
- 1:03:05Speaker 5: are you when you're on the sideline and Drake's driving,
- 1:03:08Speaker 5: are you watching him? Are you getting ready to kick
- 1:03:10Speaker 5: the ball? Like what what's kind of going through your head?
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: What's your process as He's trying to put you guys
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: into into range to have you kicked that.
- 1:03:17Speaker 20: Really, I'm I'm kicking into the net, just staying warm,
- 1:03:20Speaker 20: staying ready. And then once we're we're in field goal range,
- 1:03:25Speaker 20: I'll still I'll kind of be, you know, paying attention
- 1:03:28Speaker 20: to what down it is, the clock and if we
- 1:03:30Speaker 20: have a timeout or not, and things like that, and
- 1:03:33Speaker 20: if we do have a time out, I'll kind of
- 1:03:35Speaker 20: be a little bit more like calm just because we
- 1:03:38Speaker 20: don't have to, you know, rush out there right and
- 1:03:42Speaker 20: really just unless it's third down, like I'm I'm at
- 1:03:45Speaker 20: the net just kicking. But once third down hits, like,
- 1:03:49Speaker 20: I'm right on the sideline just getting ready to go
- 1:03:51Speaker 20: out there.
- 1:03:52Speaker 7: Travon one.
- 1:03:53Speaker 6: You know, NFL Rookie of the Month, you want an
- 1:03:55Speaker 6: AFC Special Teams Player of the week.
- 1:03:57Speaker 7: This rookie class really made an impact this year, you know.
- 1:04:00Speaker 6: And remember talking to Jeremy Springer in the spring and
- 1:04:02Speaker 6: him saying when they were looking at kickers, you know,
- 1:04:04Speaker 6: I want a guy who can come in and be
- 1:04:05Speaker 6: one of the guys.
- 1:04:06Speaker 7: It's not just you, it's Julian too on Special Teams.
- 1:04:08Speaker 6: What can you say about this, this rookie class and
- 1:04:11Speaker 6: how you guys have all come together here.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: I mean it's awesome.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:04:15Speaker 20: Obviously it's the working class that I came in with,
- 1:04:19Speaker 20: and you know, I can't really speak for any other
- 1:04:20Speaker 20: bricky class, but I feel like we we definitely came
- 1:04:23Speaker 20: in here and just put our heads down and went
- 1:04:26Speaker 20: to work. You know, just we we knew our role
- 1:04:29Speaker 20: and we're just playing our role. And you know, just
- 1:04:31Speaker 20: again just being a blessing you.
- 1:04:33Speaker 5: Julian and Bryce are like attached to the hip, I'm sure,
- 1:04:36Speaker 5: just always together. I think Rabel mentioned that a couple of.
- 1:04:39Speaker 7: Weeks ago, always together, just once.
- 1:04:42Speaker 5: It been like just working with those three guys and
- 1:04:44Speaker 5: how much is Bryce, you know, being a little bit
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: a veteran in a little bit here and have some
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: experience in the league helped you out.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it's been awesome.
- 1:04:51Speaker 20: I mean me and Julian we did pre draft together,
- 1:04:54Speaker 20: so I've been with him since January.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: Of last year or not second of him yet, how
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: I am.
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: I love him and love Bryce too.
- 1:05:03Speaker 20: And Bryce has really helped us, you know, kind of
- 1:05:06Speaker 20: just get grounded and be like, look, yeah, you're you're
- 1:05:08Speaker 20: in the NFL, but there's still work to do, and
- 1:05:11Speaker 20: and he definitely helps us with just the mentality of
- 1:05:15Speaker 20: you know, of being a NFL.
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: Player and really just learning how to be a pro.
- 1:05:22Speaker 6: Last time for me, Andy, Now, one of my favorite
- 1:05:23Speaker 6: videos from the summer was your I think it was
- 1:05:25Speaker 6: your girlfriend surprising you. My wife, your wife, sorry, your
- 1:05:28Speaker 6: wife surprising you with a dog out of nowhere.
- 1:05:31Speaker 7: I want to check you in. I'm a new dog
- 1:05:33Speaker 7: dad myself this year.
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: Evan's a big dog.
- 1:05:34Speaker 7: He's got a big dog as well. So you know,
- 1:05:36Speaker 7: how are things going there in the household with four dogs?
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: Is that?
- 1:05:39Speaker 7: Four dogs?
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: You know?
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: It's great.
- 1:05:42Speaker 20: Does get a little hectic at times, but you know
- 1:05:45Speaker 20: what wouldn't change the thing? You know, our little docs
- 1:05:48Speaker 20: and his name is Kane. He's he's the alpha. He's
- 1:05:51Speaker 20: the alpha, even though he's the smallest. But he'll he'll
- 1:05:54Speaker 20: show some teeth.
- 1:05:54Speaker 7: Yeah, I got a cheweiny half docks and house always.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: You know what I'm talking about.
- 1:06:00Speaker 20: Yeah, and then you know he he bosses around, you know,
- 1:06:03Speaker 20: our doberman. So it's funny to see, but it's awesome.
- 1:06:06Speaker 5: It's always the little ones that think that they're the
- 1:06:08Speaker 5: big ones and they like come out. And then my
- 1:06:11Speaker 5: dog Alice, he's a Rhodesian ridgeback, so he's ninety five pounds,
- 1:06:14Speaker 5: so little. These little ones will like, you know, act
- 1:06:18Speaker 5: like they're the big dogs, and then they'll give him
- 1:06:20Speaker 5: one like growl and they're like, okay.
- 1:06:22Speaker 20: Yeah, see my my dog. He doesn't he stays, he
- 1:06:25Speaker 20: stands his ground. Yeah, no, he'll I remember once came
- 1:06:29Speaker 20: downstairs and they're fighting. I was like, all right, whatever,
- 1:06:32Speaker 20: next thing, you know, I just see him bite the
- 1:06:34Speaker 20: Dobman's like lit and I'm like, what are we doing? Yeah,
- 1:06:38Speaker 20: and then he's just like ground. He's like I'm like,
- 1:06:41Speaker 20: dude's just just stop. I'm like, he's one hundred and
- 1:06:44Speaker 20: ten pounds. You're twenty pounds on like a heavy you
- 1:06:47Speaker 20: know you ate good type of day. Yeah, but you know,
- 1:06:51Speaker 20: it's it's awesome. It's it's definitely something to look forward
- 1:06:55Speaker 20: to every single day.
- 1:06:56Speaker 4: So yeah, are you always just chill?
- 1:06:58Speaker 5: Because I feel like, as a kicker, this is a
- 1:07:00Speaker 5: pretty good trait to have that.
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: Pretty much, I try to be mellow.
- 1:07:06Speaker 7: Just yeah.
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: Again, don't get too high, don't get too low.
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: Yeah, awesome.
- 1:07:10Speaker 6: Well, hey, great, great, good luck this weekend against the Bills,
- 1:07:13Speaker 6: and thanks for sitting down.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: With us, thank you, And now great moments in.
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: History.
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: She's trying to make the point that the Eagles lost
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: Super Bowl thirty nine because because Bill told the Patriots
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: that the Eagles were planning their parade.
- 1:07:30Speaker 21: Room right, and big, big secret I'm gonna let out
- 1:07:34Speaker 21: of the box here. Every team that's in the Super Bowl,
- 1:07:37Speaker 21: they're behind the scenes are planning for the parade.
- 1:07:39Speaker 7: Legist.
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: Oh, you're not supposed to say everybody does that.
- 1:07:42Speaker 16: It's also crazy too, what a lot of people you
- 1:07:43Speaker 16: don't know.
- 1:07:44Speaker 5: Every team that's in the AFC Championship game, people behind
- 1:07:46Speaker 5: the scenes are planning for if we're.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: Going to go to this.
- 1:07:49Speaker 21: Yeah, exactly, because if you don't your negligent. Yes, everybody's
- 1:07:53Speaker 21: doing it.
- 1:07:54Speaker 7: It's bad luck.
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: It wouldn't be the show if Eric didn't scold someone.
- 1:07:57Speaker 7: That's another great moment, Milker.
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: Go ahead, dude, I almost am I almost.
- 1:08:07Speaker 7: That's right, Fred.
- 1:08:08Speaker 6: It's time for the co pilot question that'll be presented
- 1:08:10Speaker 6: by Microsoft Copilo, where every day is game day and
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: where every decision is powered by insight innovation. Microsoft technology
- 1:08:16Speaker 6: helps to make decisions faster, insights sharper, and strategies more adaptive.
- 1:08:20Speaker 6: And guys, we're talking AFC East Championships today. Patriots have
- 1:08:24Speaker 6: a chance for it. So my first question for you
- 1:08:26Speaker 6: is can you name the AFC East championships prior to
- 1:08:30Speaker 6: two thousand and one. We all know they went on
- 1:08:32Speaker 6: a big run two thousand and one onto you know,
- 1:08:34Speaker 6: the dynasty years, But before that, how many did they win?
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: Paul?
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:08:38Speaker 4: Altogether?
- 1:08:39Speaker 7: Well, just can you name what what they were two
- 1:08:41Speaker 7: thousand and one? There weren't too many.
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: Seventy eight, yes, eighty six, yes, ninety six, Yeah, I'm
- 1:08:55Speaker 4: missing one, ninety seven, oh ninety seven.
- 1:08:57Speaker 7: There you go four times.
- 1:08:59Speaker 6: And last part of this question though, is when was
- 1:09:01Speaker 6: the earliest that they clinched the AFC East?
- 1:09:05Speaker 8: Oh?
- 1:09:05Speaker 4: Seven?
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: What happens to be right?
- 1:09:07Speaker 7: Yeah, they were undefeated. You know a week could happen.
- 1:09:09Speaker 10: I'll do it.
- 1:09:10Speaker 4: Eleven, week eleven.
- 1:09:11Speaker 7: Wow, See this is why we always have to help
- 1:09:13Speaker 7: through week elevel.
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: They were undefeated, I know, but still week eleven out
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: of sixteen games?
- 1:09:18Speaker 10: Well, how soon can you clinch?
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: Like soon does someone lost six games week eleven? Because
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: when you're eleven and zero, the worst you can go
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: was eleven and five. So as long as someone had six,
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: if everybody else had six losses, you clinch.
- 1:09:31Speaker 6: Yeah, So I mean you know looking back, you see
- 1:09:33Speaker 6: they got division championship in the seventies, division champion in
- 1:09:36Speaker 6: the eighties, couple in the nineties. We know what happened
- 1:09:38Speaker 6: in the twenty and the twenty ten. So now in
- 1:09:40Speaker 6: the twenty twenties.
- 1:09:42Speaker 7: I think it's time to get one. What do you
- 1:09:43Speaker 7: guys think.
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go.
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: And that reminds me. I have I flagged an email
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: here that I want to read. This is from Justin
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: and he says, Patriots Nation, listen up. I know we
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: were four thirteen the last two seasons. We stunk worse
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: than your grandpa cologne. Today, though, is a new day.
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: The twenty twenty five Patriots are eleven and two. We
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: have a stud quarterback, We have talent all over the field.
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: We have a great coaching staff. Most importantly, we have
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: a chance to beat the freaking Buffalo Bills in week
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: fifteen to win the division at home. Let's go, get hyped,
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: get psyche. The boys are back, the Patriots are back.
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: Let's turn that bison into ground meat this weekend and
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: get those hats and T shirts.
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: This is what we live for as fans. Get all
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: this negative talk Audi.
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: Here, it's time to get back to what is rightfully
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: ours and kick the crap out of Buffalo, well said
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: justin we go, thank you so good stuff.
- 1:10:41Speaker 7: You're ready to run through a wall Outice? Was that
- 1:10:43Speaker 7: ritt in all caps, a lot of exclamation points.
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: Fred captures the spirit of youth and the way he
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: reads it. I love good stuff, Brooklyn. A great discussion
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: of analytics yesterday and today. I just want to add
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: a couple of things. One, Evan is excellent at f
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: film review, not just analytics. So does he mean he's
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: good at film root or not at analytics or maybe both.
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:11:06Speaker 10: He's analyzing the thing.
- 1:11:08Speaker 4: I think he's given him a complimen saying he's really
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: good at film reviewer ask.
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: Two totally agree with Paul that analytics have enhanced the
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: game verse nineteen eighty style punting from the opponent's forty
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: I agree with that. Three, having said that, particularly for Yes,
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: no outcomes with major consequences. Nothing replaces good judgment. Vrabel
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: and company have killed it, Mike McDaniel has not. And
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: four did you even read bart from Poland's email after
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: you made fun of his health?
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: That was his email? That was that was it.
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: He just wanted to tell us he was in the hospital.
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: Listening, and he said he was going to be fine.
- 1:11:41Speaker 7: So okay, good, that's he did that because.
- 1:11:44Speaker 11: He writes in quite a bit, so we might have
- 1:11:46Speaker 11: been worried otherwise.
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: Yeah, he said he was going to be fine.
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: You know, pheographic dies, he dies drug. You know, things
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: could turn.
- 1:12:00Speaker 7: Take a turn for the worst. You never know.
- 1:12:01Speaker 4: I mean, life's for me, guys.
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: You gotta hope he pulls through.
- 1:12:06Speaker 7: Bar calling when you're able to please.
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: Jaitar rights in What's up Everybody? I for sure was
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: a fan saying that the Bills window was closed. Two
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: years later, I'm starting to think the window will never
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: be closed as long as Allen is their quarterback.
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: That's probably true.
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: I for sure think that this game won't be the
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: same as Week five game. I hope that this can
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: be the game where it may goes for three hundred
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: plus yards and three plus touchdowns in a shootout with
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: Josh Allen Patriots thirty four Bills thirty.
- 1:12:37Speaker 4: I don't I could.
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: I wanted to be thirty four to nothing.
- 1:12:40Speaker 6: Do you remember the last time there were two, you know,
- 1:12:43Speaker 6: elite quarterbacks in the same division kind of going back
- 1:12:46Speaker 6: and forth. I mean, there's probably an obvious one that's
- 1:12:48Speaker 6: just not popping into my head right now. Two elite
- 1:12:51Speaker 6: quarterbacks division, Jim Killy, Dan Marino. They didn't really cross
- 1:12:55Speaker 6: over too much, I guess a little bit.
- 1:12:56Speaker 4: I mean Kelly Marino was Yeah, but that's a long time.
- 1:12:59Speaker 7: Yeah, right, that's a good one.
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: Can you think of any any others though about AFC West?
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you had Rivers there for a while,
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: Stabler and.
- 1:13:09Speaker 7: Now again yeah again, really in the weeds.
- 1:13:12Speaker 6: It's kind of interesting how you can't really think of
- 1:13:14Speaker 6: one where there was, you know, a division where there
- 1:13:17Speaker 6: were two guys that you know are going to kind
- 1:13:19Speaker 6: of go back and forth for a while.
- 1:13:20Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, I don't know how elite, but like,
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: could you say, like Flacco Roethlisberger.
- 1:13:26Speaker 11: I was going to say that, but then stopped at
- 1:13:28Speaker 11: the elite is definitely elite, right, I don't know, that's
- 1:13:32Speaker 11: like a running joke on Twitter.
- 1:13:35Speaker 4: I think that would qualify for what you're asking. I
- 1:13:37Speaker 4: don't know if it certainly doesn't rise to the level
- 1:13:39Speaker 4: of Kelly Marino.
- 1:13:41Speaker 6: Right, but you know what I'm saying getting out with
- 1:13:43Speaker 6: Alan and May though that this could be, you know,
- 1:13:45Speaker 6: something really special.
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: Yeah, and I think, you know, you have the chance
- 1:13:48Speaker 4: with like Mahomes and Herbert. I don't know what Nix
- 1:13:52Speaker 4: is going to be. I don't know if he'll ever.
- 1:13:54Speaker 4: I think he's kind of destined to be like a
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: good sort of game manager type, but you don't, who knows.
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: Maybe he gets better and better. And he's in that
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: conversation too. It kind of speaks to you know, the
- 1:14:05Speaker 4: biggest problem in the AFC East when Brady was dominating
- 1:14:09Speaker 4: it was nobody could figure out quarterback in college, right,
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: you know, and they just kept cycling through all these
- 1:14:15Speaker 4: different guys. Probably the best quarterback in the division through
- 1:14:18Speaker 4: Brady's tenure was Chad Pennington.
- 1:14:20Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, yeah, that's you know, it doesn't that
- 1:14:23Speaker 6: seem weird in retrospect, Like I think there's maybe just
- 1:14:25Speaker 6: been more high quality quarterbacks coming in the league lately.
- 1:14:29Speaker 6: But it just seems crazy to me that that those
- 1:14:30Speaker 6: three teams basically went twenty years without finding.
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: We were forcing them into bad decisions. Yeah, Patriots, they
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: were under a lot of pression. It's true. Todd's in
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: North Carolina, check right, you don't like that.
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: I don't care there for you.
- 1:14:47Speaker 4: You don't care for it. It's been a little cranky.
- 1:14:51Speaker 8: I spent it.
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: What's up to Todd?
- 1:14:54Speaker 8: So I sent in a little quiz because we were
- 1:14:57Speaker 8: on the break weekend here and I thought would be
- 1:15:00Speaker 8: nice to play a game. So if Fred didn't like it,
- 1:15:02Speaker 8: so I'm going to try to make something a little
- 1:15:04Speaker 8: bit simpler. Which of the current teams that were would
- 1:15:07Speaker 8: be in the playoffs that it was this time? You
- 1:15:11Speaker 8: think that Drake May and our offensive coach mister McDaniels
- 1:15:15Speaker 8: would help the most. I was. I was thinking Tampa
- 1:15:19Speaker 8: or the Eagles, but then I settled on the Texas
- 1:15:22Speaker 8: because I think if you give the Texans an offense,
- 1:15:25Speaker 8: they might be unstoppable. So I just want to hear
- 1:15:27Speaker 8: your assets.
- 1:15:27Speaker 4: Thanks guys.
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: Okay, yeah.
- 1:15:34Speaker 4: That Why does it have to be like? As is
- 1:15:37Speaker 4: often the case, I don't always understand the instructions. So
- 1:15:41Speaker 4: Josh McDaniels would be the coordinator for one of the other.
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: Playoff teams and Drake May would be the quarterback. Oh
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: so you insert those two, which playoff team would they
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: help the most?
- 1:15:52Speaker 4: So the playoff I in Indianapolis?
- 1:15:55Speaker 11: Yeah right, Yeah, they don't have a quarterback, ye Philip
- 1:16:00Speaker 11: twenty four years old and he's a granddad.
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: I don't and there's still a playoff.
- 1:16:06Speaker 4: I'm not close. I'm not close. Well, I'm not trying to, like,
- 1:16:15Speaker 4: you know, I lost a little weight, okay, so I'm
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: not looking down my notes. But I don't know if
- 1:16:19Speaker 4: you guys saw anything about Philip Rivers. You know, you
- 1:16:21Speaker 4: guys see any of these pitchers.
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: No, little Dowey, really really.
- 1:16:25Speaker 4: Little dowe you know, so not only forty four five years.
- 1:16:29Speaker 10: Kids though like he might.
- 1:16:32Speaker 8: So.
- 1:16:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean that's the team that doesn't have a quarterback.
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: The other teams have a good, you know, good quarterback's.
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the most of.
- 1:16:39Speaker 4: The playoff teams have good quarterbacks. I mean I don't
- 1:16:42Speaker 4: know how good, but most of them.
- 1:16:44Speaker 10: Well to the point of the call.
- 1:16:46Speaker 11: It would get them over the needle them, it would
- 1:16:49Speaker 11: get them over the hump the most. Whereas, like, I
- 1:16:53Speaker 11: don't know, the Texans, you might need more, Like the
- 1:16:55Speaker 11: Colts were really good and then they lost their quarterback.
- 1:16:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that the Olds have a really good offense.
- 1:17:01Speaker 4: When Daniel Jones was healthy, they had a really good offense.
- 1:17:03Speaker 4: I think May is a lot better than Daniel Jones,
- 1:17:05Speaker 4: so maybe they would have a great offense Denver. I
- 1:17:09Speaker 4: think bow Knicks has been fine. He's winning games, but
- 1:17:11Speaker 4: I think May is a lot better than bow Knicks.
- 1:17:14Speaker 4: I think he would win a lot of games.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: Francisco's in North Carolina have Francisco?
- 1:17:20Speaker 12: Hey, what's going on?
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: Ladies and gentlemen?
- 1:17:22Speaker 12: They So I got to start off with so a
- 1:17:27Speaker 12: while back when I got that, well, I ain't got
- 1:17:30Speaker 12: to receive the T shirt yet, So first wondering do
- 1:17:32Speaker 12: I need to send another email in.
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: With my Yeah, I don't know, Matt, Matt, what's the
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: deal I've got.
- 1:17:37Speaker 9: I've been setting them out all in piles. I'm just
- 1:17:40Speaker 9: waiting for the pile to get big enough to send out.
- 1:17:43Speaker 11: I'll just send out your shirt now for socause is
- 1:17:45Speaker 11: a special one, Okay, yeah?
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:17:48Speaker 7: And then uh so I'm gonna follow up with so
- 1:17:51Speaker 7: you know, I'm.
- 1:17:51Speaker 12: Not watching all twenty two or anything, but I was
- 1:17:53Speaker 12: wondering if is are are we given like opportunities? Like
- 1:17:57Speaker 12: I understand that you know, we might not have enough opportunities.
- 1:18:00Speaker 14: But like another a couple of weeks back, we threw
- 1:18:02Speaker 14: like a quick little.
- 1:18:04Speaker 12: Plate Kyle Williams, I turned into like like seventeen yards
- 1:18:07Speaker 12: or whatever. So I was wondering if we have we
- 1:18:09Speaker 12: done any more, like how often are we doing it
- 1:18:12Speaker 12: to where we're giving him the ball in space? And
- 1:18:14Speaker 12: then my prediction for this week is I don't know
- 1:18:17Speaker 12: how bold I would say it is, but I think
- 1:18:19Speaker 12: this is going to be the game where everyone's like,
- 1:18:22Speaker 12: this is Greg May's NDP game, like someone like College
- 1:18:25Speaker 12: were like, that's the high of the moment.
- 1:18:26Speaker 8: I think this is where we're going to solidfy you
- 1:18:28Speaker 8: that was That's.
- 1:18:29Speaker 12: Where he like, that's where Drake May became Drake May.
- 1:18:32Speaker 13: All right, thank you guys.
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: Okay, thanks Francisco.
- 1:18:37Speaker 4: I think Kyle Williams is the fifth receiver, so he's
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: going to get periodic opportunities when someone gets banged up.
- 1:18:44Speaker 4: I think in the Giants game, there was a player
- 1:18:49Speaker 4: or two early in the game where Booty looked like
- 1:18:51Speaker 4: he could limped to the sideline. I think Kyle Williams
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: got a couple more reps. Fortunately for Kyle Williams, one
- 1:18:57Speaker 4: of those happened to be a deep ball that he
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: was on the field instead of boot and made he
- 1:19:01Speaker 4: made a play. But I don't I wouldn't expect Kyle
- 1:19:04Speaker 4: Williams to be a big part of the offense at
- 1:19:06Speaker 4: this stage, you know, going forward, unless there's injuries in
- 1:19:10Speaker 4: front of him, would you, guys, you know, disagree with that.
- 1:19:15Speaker 11: I just think there's already so many guys ahead of
- 1:19:17Speaker 11: him that Drake just has great chemistry with. And that's
- 1:19:20Speaker 11: even beyond the receivers, that's even the tight ends, and
- 1:19:22Speaker 11: that's even Remandre like throwing the ball too.
- 1:19:24Speaker 10: So I kind of feel the same way as you.
- 1:19:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I think they like what they they
- 1:19:29Speaker 4: have in Booty. Is there more explosiveness or Kyle Williams
- 1:19:32Speaker 4: over Booty? Probably, but Booty is a far better player
- 1:19:35Speaker 4: right now by a lot.
- 1:19:38Speaker 11: It has to be there too, Like Kyle Williams, like
- 1:19:41Speaker 11: he's making strides for sure. But I think Fred always
- 1:19:44Speaker 11: harped on this, like it's it's not looking right in
- 1:19:46Speaker 11: a lot of these games with either.
- 1:19:49Speaker 10: Definitely, definitely, but there's still a long way to go.
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: I think, Yeah, I think they're moving him around a
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: little bit more away. You know, the short passes just
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: didn't look good. He just didn't have a knack for it.
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: I don't know, but it's getting better. Travis and West
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: Virginia says the call you took from Naton, Connecticut just
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: before the break was the most interesting call he's ever had.
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: Travis likes, I do like that though.
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: Yeah, you gotta have that, you gotta have likeateur.
- 1:20:19Speaker 10: Yeah, the agitators.
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: We're talking about the division rivalry quarterback thing and Bruno says,
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: we could have had Roger Stafford, but the Lions decided
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: to be a joke.
- 1:20:33Speaker 4: Yeah that you know, Rogers Stafford.
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, And Barton Poland says, if I die, it's
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: on you.
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: Fred.
- 1:20:44Speaker 11: It's so much funnier because when we did guess that listener,
- 1:20:47Speaker 11: bart is the one that was pictured with Fred, and
- 1:20:50Speaker 11: Fred still didn't make can't say he was correctly.
- 1:20:54Speaker 20: And now.
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: If you want to hear something funny about how making
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: fun of death and grieving, there's uh this podcast that
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: was with Jason Bateman and uh, who's the guy with
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: the deep Will Arnett and there's a third guy and
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: they had Conan O'Brien as a guest and they're talking
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: about when his father died and the texts that went
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: back and forth and Conan blame Conan blamed it on
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: Jason Bateman. He said, you know he killed my father.
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: And then like two weeks later his mother died and
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: and uh somebody so will Arnette texted Conan O'Brien and said,
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: do you know where Jason Bateman was last night? And
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: and so and then it went on like this, and
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: and then uh somebody else texted Conan O'Brien said, Jason
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: wants your sister's uh pad dress, and and like this
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: is like a guy who just lost his mother father.
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: Codin's like, this is how I grieve, though I love this.
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: This was okay the Boston guy.
- 1:21:57Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I saw that making the rounds one on Twitter.
- 1:22:02Speaker 4: I didn't like see all the details. I'm glad you
- 1:22:04Speaker 4: had all the pieces because you know me, I see it.
- 1:22:07Speaker 4: I'm not going to click on it. You draw a
- 1:22:10Speaker 4: conclusion without getting the facts, and I and you know what,
- 1:22:13Speaker 4: I drew a very accurate conclusion. You just gave me
- 1:22:16Speaker 4: the facts and that's pretty much exactly how I figured
- 1:22:18Speaker 4: it must have gone something like that.
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: All right, Okay, let's see Tyler in New Jersey rites
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: in love the show Love Catch twenty two. I completely
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: agree with Evan on how annoying the fans have been
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: this year, especially our very own Patriots fans. If I
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: hear anything about Denver in the altitude again, my head
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: might burst. There shouldn't be any team we're afraid of,
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: and if we lose altitude or home field advantage, are
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: bs excuses. There's no team in the AFC that should
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: beat us besides maybe the Bills. That's it. And finally,
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: to all the fans crying about the deadline, if you
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: want to see a first hand example, go look at
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: the Colts, who gave us to first for an overrated
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: corner and are now going to miss the playoffs. Thank
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: god our team was firm on principle and stuck with it.
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: Have a nice day.
- 1:23:11Speaker 4: Not sure I understand the email, but I would say
- 1:23:15Speaker 4: the first thing, you have the opposite view of the
- 1:23:18Speaker 4: Patriots fans based on what Evan's talking about. It's the
- 1:23:22Speaker 4: obnoxiousness of the fans, not people worried about playing in Denver.
- 1:23:25Speaker 4: So you have the wrong view of the fans, So
- 1:23:27Speaker 4: you're really not agreeing with Evan. The second part is
- 1:23:30Speaker 4: would it make you feel better if Drake may broke
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: his leg on Sunday because you didn't make any big
- 1:23:35Speaker 4: moves and forfeit any draft picks in at the trade deadline.
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: Would it make me feel any better?
- 1:23:42Speaker 4: Yeah, no, No, it wouldn't make me feel any better either,
- 1:23:45Speaker 4: Like somehow like it's not it's okay that they didn't
- 1:23:51Speaker 4: make any moves of the deadline because Daniel Jones broke
- 1:23:53Speaker 4: his leg and then tore his achilles and the cold
- 1:23:56Speaker 4: season is falling apart, But they shouldn't. That shows you
- 1:24:00Speaker 4: that they shouldn't have made any moves to try to
- 1:24:02Speaker 4: better their team. Yeah, like that's a very flawed logic.
- 1:24:06Speaker 4: They fell apart because of the quarter The quarterback basically
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: suffered a catastrophic injury and their season is probably over
- 1:24:16Speaker 4: because of it. Not because they made a move to
- 1:24:17Speaker 4: get Sauce Gardner at the deadline. They needed that they
- 1:24:21Speaker 4: needed just to bolster their secondary. But he was a Jet,
- 1:24:25Speaker 4: so he sucks. I just went to lead between the
- 1:24:28Speaker 4: lines of Patriots fans.
- 1:24:29Speaker 10: Sometimes there's a slippery slope.
- 1:24:34Speaker 4: Not, well, why not tell me tell me the part
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: of my analysis of that email that you disagree with.
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: You disagree, well, but you're having these arguments like.
- 1:24:45Speaker 4: That's your head, that's what he's No, No, no, I'm
- 1:24:48Speaker 4: reading what he I'm interpreting what he wrote that's what
- 1:24:51Speaker 4: he wrote.
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: You're interpreting it.
- 1:24:52Speaker 4: It was a bad move to get I think he
- 1:24:55Speaker 4: called him an overrated corner and now look at their
- 1:24:57Speaker 4: season as if acquiring the over rated corner is the
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: reason why their seasons out of control. Now, the two
- 1:25:04Speaker 4: were nothing to do with these I would not feel
- 1:25:07Speaker 4: any better if I still had my first round pick.
- 1:25:09Speaker 4: If Drake may gets hurt and is out for the year,
- 1:25:12Speaker 4: that would not make me feel any better than the
- 1:25:13Speaker 4: Colts feel right now.
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: And how does say back to Patriots fans.
- 1:25:16Speaker 4: Because he's saying that's the Patriots fans were whining about
- 1:25:19Speaker 4: not making a trade at the deadline. Okay, that's that's
- 1:25:24Speaker 4: the premise. That's what he's saying. He's mad at Patriots
- 1:25:26Speaker 4: fans because they were probably.
- 1:25:28Speaker 11: Not the best comparison to use because one the one,
- 1:25:32Speaker 11: they're not correlated. Like, if Daniel Jones doesn't get injured,
- 1:25:35Speaker 11: maybe he goes on to make a game saving interception
- 1:25:37Speaker 11: in the Super Bowl.
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: Right, you don't know with this, like do what you do?
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: I don't you know.
- 1:25:43Speaker 4: Maybe the Colts weren't good enough to do what they did.
- 1:25:45Speaker 4: That might that may ultimately end up being a bad
- 1:25:48Speaker 4: play by is it ballad?
- 1:25:50Speaker 7: Is he still there?
- 1:25:52Speaker 4: I don't know who's their gm oh ballad?
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: Ballad?
- 1:25:55Speaker 4: Definitely, you know, maybe ultimately that's going to end up
- 1:25:57Speaker 4: being a bad move for them. They gave up a
- 1:26:00Speaker 4: no doubt about it. They have two first round picks
- 1:26:02Speaker 4: for a corner.
- 1:26:03Speaker 11: But also, how do you blame them because they're they're
- 1:26:07Speaker 11: in a wish now mode? Like those are the moves
- 1:26:09Speaker 11: you go out and make when you're in win now mode?
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: I agree, Yeah, uh theo rights. And I was just
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: on a demo call with a sales guy from Utah
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: and he randomly muted and turned his camera off and
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: came back and said a big time Patriots player had
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: just walked through their cubicles, and everyone went to say, Hi,
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: I wonder who it was, Oh, that Utah. It'd be
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: a big time player that's currently on the team because
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: they're here in Utah.
- 1:26:38Speaker 4: That's what it says.
- 1:26:38Speaker 10: Yeah it was last week during the bye week.
- 1:26:42Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe it was last week, but he just said.
- 1:26:45Speaker 11: I was just but I don't know if that's the
- 1:26:48Speaker 11: guy that would be shutting down an office.
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: Who would go back to Utah from the.
- 1:26:52Speaker 10: PENGA is the only one I can think of off
- 1:26:54Speaker 10: the top of my head.
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: Okay, maybe a kids.
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: Like a big time.
- 1:27:01Speaker 4: Ry like yeah no, but that's why Alex is in
- 1:27:03Speaker 4: depth knowledge of the entire roster.
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: He's from Utah.
- 1:27:10Speaker 7: Why don't you purify yourself in the waters.
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: So Lake Minnetonka emailer, please call your sales guy in
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: Utah and ask him who was the player so we
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: can solve this mystery. Uh Low and Philly, I just
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: want to comment on Evans classic Northeastern take on Michigan
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: being landlocked. I completely agree with the sentiment that the
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: seafood is not as good there. I'm not from Michigan,
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: but I think there is some misunderstandings about the Great Lakes.
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: I'll put things in numbers because that's all he understand. Sorry,
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: PFF can't verify. Michigan is literally a peninsula with over
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: two times the coastline that Massachusetts has. There are famously
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: dunes going down to the beaches that are four hundred
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: and fifty feet high. On the west coast, Lake Michigan
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: is over thirty seven times the size of Cape Cod Bay.
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: On the east coast, Lake Huron is over thirty eight
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: times the size of Cape Cod Bay. Both Lakes are
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: three times the size of Massachusetts. I know, but it's
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: not salt water. What right. I don't know if the
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: definition of being landlocked, like you said, does it have
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: to be salt water.
- 1:28:16Speaker 4: Because I asked that question.
- 1:28:18Speaker 3: Yeah, because certainly there's a lot of water around Michigan.
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I said lakes.
- 1:28:22Speaker 4: I said to the Great Lakes counts as making you
- 1:28:25Speaker 4: land laugh. That was my fault.
- 1:28:26Speaker 11: Our Michigan listeners go so hard for Michigan. Oh yeah,
- 1:28:29Speaker 11: they really like remember this, this debate back fall, And
- 1:28:32Speaker 11: I think Michigan's a beautiful place.
- 1:28:34Speaker 10: It's great, but it's just like.
- 1:28:39Speaker 11: The problem where I get tripped up is when they
- 1:28:41Speaker 11: always bring up like, oh, well, we have the seafood,
- 1:28:44Speaker 11: we have these beaches, and it's like it's a totally
- 1:28:46Speaker 11: different thing. Lake life and ocean life is just it's
- 1:28:49Speaker 11: night and day from each other, and there's overlap, but
- 1:28:55Speaker 11: there's a lot that's not over.
- 1:28:56Speaker 4: Would you consider it a landlocked state? That was the
- 1:28:59Speaker 4: only Like, I'm not arguing about the quality of seaf.
- 1:29:02Speaker 10: I think it's one I would think of off the
- 1:29:04Speaker 10: top of my head.
- 1:29:07Speaker 2: When it comes to states, some of the plain states, and.
- 1:29:11Speaker 4: That was the only question, and that was my fault
- 1:29:13Speaker 4: that that came back because I asked you that. I remember,
- 1:29:16Speaker 4: I go, do we consider the Great Lakes making Michigan
- 1:29:19Speaker 4: not landlocked? And Evan jumped on my throat. Doesn't.
- 1:29:24Speaker 9: I don't think that is entirely surrounded by land, having
- 1:29:27Speaker 9: no direct access to an ocean or open sea, meaning
- 1:29:31Speaker 9: it must pass through neighboring territories to reach global waters global.
- 1:29:35Speaker 4: Water, So it would be considered can you get through
- 1:29:40Speaker 4: the can you make your way through the Great Lakes
- 1:29:42Speaker 4: to the ocean?
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: Well, probably there's the thing up top the rivers.
- 1:29:47Speaker 3: What's that thing that goes to the ocean up top?
- 1:29:50Speaker 3: If you get what it's called?
- 1:30:00Speaker 7: So little have you meddled there?
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: Hi?
- 1:30:08Speaker 7: Ready, I'm back you miss me? No, uh, not as
- 1:30:11Speaker 7: busy today, not as crazy, but.
- 1:30:13Speaker 6: Only got one uh one scrumming Robert Splaine saying, it
- 1:30:17Speaker 6: still feels like the defense has a lot more to
- 1:30:19Speaker 6: give and you know, preaching that energy, still trying to
- 1:30:22Speaker 6: you know, get better and all that. But a lot
- 1:30:24Speaker 6: of respect for James Cook all eleven at the point
- 1:30:26Speaker 6: of attack, and you know, just a lot of Josh Allen,
- 1:30:29Speaker 6: He's the MVP. I feel like that might have been
- 1:30:31Speaker 6: a refrain. You heard a lot from maybe the coaching
- 1:30:33Speaker 6: staff this week, building up like this is the MVP,
- 1:30:35Speaker 6: this is the MVV. You know, maybe both to like
- 1:30:37Speaker 6: kind of force the guys that they want to play
- 1:30:39Speaker 6: for their guy who might be the MVP.
- 1:30:41Speaker 7: But you can tell everybody, of course, has a lot
- 1:30:43Speaker 7: of respect for Josh Allen. So was a quick one.
- 1:30:45Speaker 6: But yeah, I don't evan not nothing to report on there.
- 1:30:48Speaker 6: He was kind of hanging out and he doesn't really.
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: Could be my theory that m VP is the person
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: with the least talent around him.
- 1:30:55Speaker 6: So yeah, but I also think till fred is there
- 1:30:58Speaker 6: like a certain point though, where like a guy just
- 1:30:59Speaker 6: played so well that you know what I mean? Like
- 1:31:03Speaker 6: that that's the only place where I get a little
- 1:31:04Speaker 6: bit grey, Like I generally agree like MVP should be
- 1:31:07Speaker 6: the guy who raised his team up, didn't have the
- 1:31:09Speaker 6: most talent, But is there an exception for a guy
- 1:31:12Speaker 6: who just played out of his mind?
- 1:31:14Speaker 7: Like did Britty win MVP in two thousand and seven?
- 1:31:16Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:31:17Speaker 6: Yeah, so like that one, right, Like he had Randy
- 1:31:19Speaker 6: Moss right, you know, so, but he broke the touchdown record.
- 1:31:24Speaker 4: In the argument for Lamar Jackson last year. Yeah, he
- 1:31:26Speaker 4: just played that much better than everybody else. But Josh
- 1:31:30Speaker 4: Allen got it because they deemed him done. That's generally
- 1:31:33Speaker 4: which way I leaned by with less.
- 1:31:34Speaker 6: I also think that there's something super special about a
- 1:31:38Speaker 6: season that a guy has that like offensive Player of
- 1:31:40Speaker 6: the Year doesn't quite cut.
- 1:31:41Speaker 3: So was it as crazy in there today as it
- 1:31:43Speaker 3: was yesterday? No, it was. It's all because of the
- 1:31:46Speaker 3: Chick fil A.
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: Isn't there yesterday and.
- 1:31:49Speaker 3: They didn't today.
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: So these guys that have one square meal a day
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: a week, which is here, didn't show up.
- 1:31:55Speaker 7: There's your here's your hunk of a chicken for the week.
- 1:31:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:31:57Speaker 7: No, maybe it is the meal, but not not a
- 1:31:59Speaker 7: lot of it was.
- 1:32:02Speaker 10: They must have gotten cleaned out.
- 1:32:03Speaker 7: I was like getting kicked out of interviews and everything.
- 1:32:05Speaker 6: There were so many people there was just you couldn't
- 1:32:07Speaker 6: even I couldn't even do anything.
- 1:32:10Speaker 7: Yeah, he was, uh, he was kind of just hanging
- 1:32:13Speaker 7: talking with his guys, talking with his guys.
- 1:32:15Speaker 3: Who were his guys, know.
- 1:32:16Speaker 17: The the tailors, the Brian Hines of the world, the Sophies,
- 1:32:21Speaker 17: you know, they were having a lot of think he
- 1:32:24Speaker 17: was tram He's like, you know, my boss friend's really
- 1:32:26Speaker 17: getting into it about analytics.
- 1:32:27Speaker 7: You guys wouldn't like this guy, you know, things of
- 1:32:29Speaker 7: that nature. Perhaps, I don't know.
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: I'm happy to wear that badge. Okay, So anything else, No,
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: that's it.
- 1:32:37Speaker 7: That's it.
- 1:32:37Speaker 3: Still upbeat.
- 1:32:39Speaker 7: So yeah, there was still.
- 1:32:40Speaker 6: Good energy, just not a lot of you know, media
- 1:32:42Speaker 6: members and you know, just not a lot of scrums
- 1:32:44Speaker 6: right off the bat. Like we got in there and
- 1:32:46Speaker 6: was waiting for digs yesterday and then it was just
- 1:32:47Speaker 6: like scrump, scrump, scrum.
- 1:32:49Speaker 7: But not today. Today's a little bit low key. It
- 1:32:50Speaker 7: kind of goes down each day and tomorrow Beat.
- 1:32:53Speaker 2: The PR staff needs to spread out their food so
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: that they can you know, uh not always have Chick
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: fil A on Wednesday, right, you know, throw a curveball
- 1:33:03Speaker 2: and have it a Friday.
- 1:33:04Speaker 7: One week, we'll do it on Friday.
- 1:33:05Speaker 4: Be fun.
- 1:33:06Speaker 6: And that's like another recurring thing in the locker room
- 1:33:08Speaker 6: on Fridays is like, you know, it's really quiet usually
- 1:33:11Speaker 6: in there. There's not like the Dan Roaches of the
- 1:33:12Speaker 6: world who kind of lead the charge and you know,
- 1:33:14Speaker 6: get interviews.
- 1:33:14Speaker 7: They're not there. And Drake always walks in and she's like,
- 1:33:17Speaker 7: what are you all doing here, go home. It's Friday.
- 1:33:19Speaker 6: You know, yells at the media, and you know, it's
- 1:33:20Speaker 6: kind become a little bit of a bit that we
- 1:33:22Speaker 6: do with Drake.
- 1:33:22Speaker 7: But I but I enjoy it. But maybe some food
- 1:33:24Speaker 7: would get more people down there.
- 1:33:25Speaker 2: I like it.
- 1:33:26Speaker 3: Chris and Virginia. One more email before we get into picks.
- 1:33:30Speaker 3: Chris is keeping receipts.
- 1:33:33Speaker 2: Earlier in the season, Evan was critical of the Commanders
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: going so deep in the playoffs last season because it
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: hurt their draft pick options. Does he still think it
- 1:33:40Speaker 2: was a bad thing, and does that mean he thinks
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: we shouldn't go deep this season? And if Christian in
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: La is listening, does he still think that the current
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: team is a paper tiger. The claim was made on
- 1:33:51Speaker 2: your October nineteenth episode, where he said, we're going to
- 1:33:55Speaker 2: turn out to be paper tigers this year, but they
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: will likely kind of run up against a really good
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: and losing the playoffs and being not a good great
- 1:34:02Speaker 2: position to get a good draft pick.
- 1:34:05Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 1:34:06Speaker 4: I just after also said they were going to win
- 1:34:09Speaker 4: ten in a row. You made fun of me for
- 1:34:11Speaker 4: because I think I said I don't know about that. Yeah,
- 1:34:14Speaker 4: a little early on that but I don't know.
- 1:34:16Speaker 6: After about fourteen or fifteen in the draft, I just
- 1:34:19Speaker 6: I don't really care. I mean, if you're in the
- 1:34:20Speaker 6: running for a top ten pick, you want every ounce of.
- 1:34:24Speaker 7: Draft capital that you can get.
- 1:34:25Speaker 6: But at a certain point you just have to realize
- 1:34:28Speaker 6: we're going to be picking in the second half of
- 1:34:29Speaker 6: the first round and every other round after that, and
- 1:34:31Speaker 6: we need to hit on our picks. There are good
- 1:34:33Speaker 6: players that still go at those points.
- 1:34:35Speaker 2: Yep, all right, it's that time of the week. So
- 1:34:44Speaker 2: fall you kind of intimated that I didn't have a good.
- 1:34:48Speaker 4: Week, No you did not. I won the week at
- 1:34:56Speaker 4: eight and six, so no one really had a good week.
- 1:34:59Speaker 4: Mike and Alex were seven and seven, Fred and Evan
- 1:35:02Speaker 4: were five and nine with the spread. Paul again was
- 1:35:08Speaker 4: eight and six, Mike and Alex seven and seven, and
- 1:35:12Speaker 4: Evan and Fred the same again, only this time at
- 1:35:15Speaker 4: six and eight. So it's a tough week all around
- 1:35:18Speaker 4: and six it's not generally a winner for the week,
- 1:35:20Speaker 4: although someone had to be the winner.
- 1:35:22Speaker 2: Yeah. I think it's a time of year, this time
- 1:35:24Speaker 2: of your biases start to come into.
- 1:35:26Speaker 4: It, you know, right, Yeah, So the season standings, Alex
- 1:35:31Speaker 4: maintains her lead. Actually, no, she takes the lead because
- 1:35:35Speaker 4: she was. She was two games better one thirty seven
- 1:35:38Speaker 4: seventy and one. Fred won thirty six seventy one and one,
- 1:35:42Speaker 4: Mike won thirty seventy seven and one, Paul won twenty
- 1:35:47Speaker 4: nine seventy eight and one, and Evan won twenty two
- 1:35:50Speaker 4: eighty five and one. So with the spread, well, here
- 1:35:56Speaker 4: we go.
- 1:35:58Speaker 3: Here on footsteps.
- 1:36:00Speaker 4: Fred one twelve ninety four and two, Paul one O
- 1:36:03Speaker 4: six one hundred and two was once a twenty game lead,
- 1:36:07Speaker 4: is down to six with four to go. Let's see
- 1:36:12Speaker 4: Evan one O one one oh five and two, Alex
- 1:36:15Speaker 4: one hundred, one oh six and two, and Mike, good
- 1:36:19Speaker 4: job by you this week seven seven. That's a five
- 1:36:21Speaker 4: hundred eighty seven one nineteen.
- 1:36:23Speaker 7: Not losing money, not losing money, I'm making it all right.
- 1:36:27Speaker 2: Sounds good, Okay, So let's get into slate, full slate,
- 1:36:30Speaker 2: full slate by So we gotta hurry tonight on Prime.
- 1:36:36Speaker 2: It's Atlanta at four to nine at Tampa Bay seven
- 1:36:39Speaker 2: and six. Tampa coming off a terrible loss at home
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: to this Mike Evans coming back Bucks by four and a.
- 1:36:46Speaker 7: Half, four and a half. This is one of those.
- 1:36:49Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:36:50Speaker 7: I don't even know if I'll turn this one on tonight.
- 1:36:51Speaker 6: But I'll take Tampa and then I'll take the points
- 1:36:54Speaker 6: for Atlanta.
- 1:36:54Speaker 7: I think it'll be close division game Thursday night.
- 1:36:59Speaker 10: I'm going to take the Bucks both ways.
- 1:37:02Speaker 4: So I'm going to take the Bucks both ways too.
- 1:37:05Speaker 4: Mike has very sound reasoning. The Thursday night home division
- 1:37:08Speaker 4: game thing. You know, they tend to be closer. Tampa
- 1:37:13Speaker 4: coming off a lost to New Orleans. I think they
- 1:37:15Speaker 4: blowed George.
- 1:37:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to go with Tampa Bay as well
- 1:37:20Speaker 2: both ways. All right, Now we move to Sunday, Sunday
- 1:37:23Speaker 2: at one on Fox. Oh and by the I don't
- 1:37:26Speaker 2: know if I can announce that everyone Sunday at one
- 1:37:30Speaker 2: on Fox. I think you can again. The Jets thing, Yeah.
- 1:37:33Speaker 4: The Jets game was going to stay at one o'clock. Yeah,
- 1:37:36Speaker 4: but it moves to Fox.
- 1:37:38Speaker 7: Yeah, it was.
- 1:37:39Speaker 4: It was why I said I think you can now
- 1:37:41Speaker 4: because I got that email.
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: Sunday at one on Fox Cleveland, three and ten at
- 1:37:48Speaker 2: Chicago nine and four.
- 1:37:50Speaker 4: Uh, Chicago by seven and a half. It's a big
- 1:37:54Speaker 4: game for the Bears. This is a big game for
- 1:37:56Speaker 4: the Bears. Big bounce back to the Bears. Got to
- 1:37:58Speaker 4: have this one to Chicago.
- 1:38:00Speaker 6: I'm gonna do the same thing. I'm gonna take Chicago
- 1:38:03Speaker 6: to win, but I'm.
- 1:38:04Speaker 7: Gonna take Cleveland in a close one for the points.
- 1:38:07Speaker 10: Please spread one more time.
- 1:38:09Speaker 4: I'm sorry, seven and a half.
- 1:38:11Speaker 10: I'll do the same thing as Mike.
- 1:38:13Speaker 4: So I am going to look to my left at
- 1:38:17Speaker 4: Fred Kersh and I'm going to put my belief in
- 1:38:20Speaker 4: what he told me last week that Chicago is legit
- 1:38:23Speaker 4: and is worthy of the status that they're getting. And
- 1:38:27Speaker 4: I'm going to say Chicago bounces back and blows doors
- 1:38:30Speaker 4: off a bad team.
- 1:38:31Speaker 2: Okay, I am. I think Chicago's gonna win, but I
- 1:38:36Speaker 2: think that they're not going to cover.
- 1:38:39Speaker 3: So but it's not a lock.
- 1:38:41Speaker 4: That would be just poor to me.
- 1:38:42Speaker 2: Sunday at one on CBS, it's Baltimore at six and
- 1:38:47Speaker 2: seven at Cincinnati at four to nine.
- 1:38:51Speaker 4: Baltimore by two and a half.
- 1:38:54Speaker 6: Mm Mmmm, curious how what we see out of Joe
- 1:38:57Speaker 6: Burrow bouncing back after offend of that game. I'm going
- 1:39:01Speaker 6: to go with Cinci in this one.
- 1:39:02Speaker 2: We go with Cinci and the upset, So believe it
- 1:39:04Speaker 2: or not, there is a path for Cincinnati to me, playoffs.
- 1:39:09Speaker 10: I'm gonna take the Bengals as well.
- 1:39:12Speaker 4: Yeah, I do not like what I'm seeing in Baltimore.
- 1:39:15Speaker 4: Doesn't look like there's a lot of effort there.
- 1:39:17Speaker 2: I will take it. Stuff last week, No, but you
- 1:39:19Speaker 2: told me about it. You keep me up to date
- 1:39:21Speaker 2: on So as a Patriots fan with Bengal with the
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: Ravens coming up next week, do we want them to
- 1:39:28Speaker 2: win this week or lose?
- 1:39:29Speaker 7: I'm gonna say lose.
- 1:39:31Speaker 4: I would say lose.
- 1:39:31Speaker 7: Yeah, just keep them in that they if.
- 1:39:34Speaker 11: They lose again, they could implode, especially with the Reddit.
- 1:39:37Speaker 18: You know.
- 1:39:38Speaker 4: So I didn't think of it right.
- 1:39:42Speaker 11: Someone cheated on their girlfriend and the girlfriend went on
- 1:39:45Speaker 11: Reddit and aired out how the team doesn't like Harbass.
- 1:39:48Speaker 10: She's overheard a bunch of conversations about it.
- 1:39:51Speaker 11: There's a lot of other stuff too, but it's not
- 1:39:53Speaker 11: relevant to the game.
- 1:39:55Speaker 4: The whole officiating thing and how like there's like some
- 1:39:58Speaker 4: really fishy stuff. Yeah, yeah, I wouldn't bet on this.
- 1:40:03Speaker 4: I would think that Baltimore was gonna win this game
- 1:40:05Speaker 4: because the league needs it. Yeah, your flex a game
- 1:40:09Speaker 4: and then they go six and eight. That's a really
- 1:40:12Speaker 4: bad Oh. NFL needs NFL needs the Ravens to be
- 1:40:16Speaker 4: at least still in it.
- 1:40:18Speaker 3: I'm gonna go with Cincinnati, even though I hate the Bengals.
- 1:40:24Speaker 2: Sunday at one at Fox three and ten, Cardinals at
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: the eight and five Texans.
- 1:40:30Speaker 4: Houston by nine and a half.
- 1:40:31Speaker 13: Oh wow.
- 1:40:34Speaker 3: The last time Houston's been favored by that much and anything?
- 1:40:36Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a lot probably two years ago.
- 1:40:40Speaker 6: They I'll take Houston. I'll take the points though, for
- 1:40:42Speaker 6: Aris nine and a half.
- 1:40:43Speaker 4: You said nine and a half.
- 1:40:44Speaker 7: Yeah, I'll take Arizona's points though, I'm gonna do the
- 1:40:47Speaker 7: same thing.
- 1:40:50Speaker 4: Yeah. I watched a lot of Arizona and they are
- 1:40:55Speaker 4: just not good. I'm gonna take Houston both ways. I
- 1:40:58Speaker 4: think they're gonna have a hard time moving the ball
- 1:40:59Speaker 4: again that defense. I'll take Houston.
- 1:41:02Speaker 3: I will take Houston, but I'll take the points.
- 1:41:05Speaker 2: Why not. Sunday at one CBS, it's the Jets three
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: and ten at Jaguars nine and four.
- 1:41:13Speaker 4: Jags by thirteen and a half.
- 1:41:15Speaker 7: Goodness gracious, that's like Brady Cook could be playing for
- 1:41:19Speaker 7: the uh oh boy.
- 1:41:20Speaker 2: Yet.
- 1:41:20Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm definitely taking Jacksonville on this one. And shoot,
- 1:41:24Speaker 6: shoot that's my doo drake things.
- 1:41:26Speaker 2: Shoot shoot the in front of it.
- 1:41:28Speaker 7: Oh shoot, I'm gonna I'm gonna lay the points. Thirteen
- 1:41:31Speaker 7: and a half.
- 1:41:31Speaker 2: Go Jacks, Jacks, Jags.
- 1:41:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna lay the points too because of the
- 1:41:36Speaker 4: quarterback situation. If Taylor or Fields were playing, I'd probably
- 1:41:39Speaker 4: take take that huge number. But Brady Cook, Yeah, it's
- 1:41:44Speaker 4: a big spread.
- 1:41:44Speaker 2: But thirteen and a half, he said, But Jacksonville may
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: only need fourteen.
- 1:41:49Speaker 3: Points, yeah to beat the spread. That's it.
- 1:41:51Speaker 2: So I'm gonna take Jacksonville both ways, you.
- 1:41:54Speaker 4: Know, and not not necessarily a big deal. Last week,
- 1:41:56Speaker 4: but Miami came out seven, fourteen to twenty one, first
- 1:41:59Speaker 4: three drive touchdowns, so it's not like the defense has
- 1:42:02Speaker 4: played that much better than the offense.
- 1:42:03Speaker 7: They don't even care.
- 1:42:04Speaker 3: They've given up.
- 1:42:05Speaker 2: As Fireman ed left the building, Probably he's back out.
- 1:42:09Speaker 4: He quits every two years, doesn't he.
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:42:12Speaker 2: Sunday at one on CBS, the Chargers are nine and
- 1:42:15Speaker 2: four and they played spirited last week. They're in Kansas
- 1:42:19Speaker 2: City six and.
- 1:42:20Speaker 4: Seven, Kansas City by five and a half.
- 1:42:26Speaker 6: I will take Kansas City to win home, but I
- 1:42:28Speaker 6: think Justin Herbert is going to make it close.
- 1:42:31Speaker 2: So question now the Chargers fans up at arms because
- 1:42:33Speaker 2: they're nine and four against the six and seven team.
- 1:42:36Speaker 4: If there were any probably oh wow.
- 1:42:39Speaker 11: They're really upset in San Diego, but la I do
- 1:42:44Speaker 11: it all the time.
- 1:42:46Speaker 3: Got San Diego people are Yeah, there are some rooting.
- 1:42:50Speaker 10: For their team Chargers. Chargers cover.
- 1:42:56Speaker 2: Wow, not upset, they cover case.
- 1:42:58Speaker 7: She's doing it backwards Chargers.
- 1:43:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna take Kansas City to win two. But
- 1:43:06Speaker 4: there's no way I'm giving five and a half points
- 1:43:08Speaker 4: to the Chiefs team right now. So yeah, I'll take
- 1:43:10Speaker 4: the points. If there was any sentilance of health for
- 1:43:14Speaker 4: the Chargers, I'd be taking the Chargers to just end
- 1:43:17Speaker 4: it right now. For Kansas City, they look broken, They
- 1:43:19Speaker 4: look like they just played a lot of football.
- 1:43:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Chiefs to win.
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: This game.
- 1:43:27Speaker 4: And who are you gonna take to cover in the game?
- 1:43:29Speaker 3: Oh? Both both ways? Yeah, both ways.
- 1:43:34Speaker 2: Sunday at one on Fox, it's the Commanders at three
- 1:43:38Speaker 2: and ten at the Giants at two and eleven.
- 1:43:41Speaker 4: This is quite the matchup. Yes, the Giants by two
- 1:43:44Speaker 4: and a half.
- 1:43:47Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm gonna go with the Giants at home, but
- 1:43:50Speaker 6: I don't feel great about it.
- 1:43:53Speaker 7: I'll lay the points.
- 1:43:54Speaker 10: Yeah, I'm just going.
- 1:43:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna go with Washington. I think they played
- 1:44:00Speaker 4: really badly last week, but I think the previous couple
- 1:44:03Speaker 4: of weeks with Mariota, they were playing, you know, reasonably competitive.
- 1:44:08Speaker 4: I think that they have enough to win this game.
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: Believe it or not. Spirits are pretty upbeat at the
- 1:44:14Speaker 2: Giants because of the way they competed against the Patriots.
- 1:44:18Speaker 2: They said, you know, we we did okay against you know,
- 1:44:21Speaker 2: the medal of the league. So uh, they use that
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: momentum to beat the Commanders this week.
- 1:44:30Speaker 4: Okay, I think they did all but put a stamp
- 1:44:34Speaker 4: on it as they mailed it.
- 1:44:35Speaker 2: In Sunday at one on Fox, it's the two and
- 1:44:38Speaker 2: eleven Raiders at the eight and five Eagles.
- 1:44:44Speaker 4: Eagles by eleven and a half. I think Kenny Pickett
- 1:44:49Speaker 4: to start for the Raiders.
- 1:44:52Speaker 7: Shoot. I mean, I'm gonna say, we are going with that.
- 1:44:56Speaker 4: Shoot.
- 1:44:56Speaker 7: It's not on purpose, it's not on purpose. I'm going
- 1:44:58Speaker 7: to take Bill del Yeah, you know what.
- 1:45:01Speaker 6: I'm gonna take Philly both ways, Philly, Philly, Philly, Billy.
- 1:45:05Speaker 4: Yeah. I can't. I can't take that team for eleven
- 1:45:10Speaker 4: and a half. I'll take the points Philly to win,
- 1:45:13Speaker 4: but I'll take the points.
- 1:45:15Speaker 3: It's a lot. Yeah, I'm gonna take Philly both ways.
- 1:45:18Speaker 3: All right. Now, we skip over the Patriots.
- 1:45:21Speaker 2: At one o'clock and we moved to four to twenty five,
- 1:45:24Speaker 2: No for four oh five game this week all for
- 1:45:27Speaker 2: twenty five. Green Bay nine, three and one at Denver,
- 1:45:33Speaker 2: of course, eleven and two.
- 1:45:35Speaker 4: Green Bay by two and a half and up in
- 1:45:38Speaker 4: arms in Denver. I have no idea how Denver about it.
- 1:45:41Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna go with green Bay in
- 1:45:43Speaker 6: this one. They're kind of wishy washy, but I like
- 1:45:46Speaker 6: them against it. You know, a team that they can
- 1:45:48Speaker 6: get up for in a game, they can get up for,
- 1:45:49Speaker 6: So I'll go Packers.
- 1:45:50Speaker 11: I'm gonna take the Packers too. A lot of it's emotional,
- 1:45:53Speaker 11: but yeah that too.
- 1:45:56Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm with Fred, like the Broncos, like these games
- 1:46:00Speaker 4: just always seem to be at home, and I think
- 1:46:03Speaker 4: they win them. Like I think that the home team.
- 1:46:06Speaker 4: I think they're doing probably the same thing that the
- 1:46:07Speaker 4: Patriots are doing right now, playing the disrespect card. Green
- 1:46:11Speaker 4: Bay to me is I know everybody just automatically every
- 1:46:15Speaker 4: time they win a big game, they're in the Super Bowl,
- 1:46:17Speaker 4: I'm not a believer in green Bay. I'm not a
- 1:46:18Speaker 4: believer in the quarterback. I'll take Denver.
- 1:46:22Speaker 2: Listen, we need Denver to lose, so I'm picking green Bay.
- 1:46:26Speaker 2: I got to put that out there. I gotta put
- 1:46:28Speaker 2: it out into the universe, all right, Mars is in
- 1:46:32Speaker 2: retrograde and green Bay beats the broncos Us.
- 1:46:36Speaker 4: Explaining the comeback that I'm one.
- 1:46:39Speaker 3: Sunday for on Fox.
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: It's the Lions eight and five at the Rams ten
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: and three.
- 1:46:45Speaker 4: So this is the spread to me this week. That
- 1:46:48Speaker 4: raised my eyebrows the most Rams by six.
- 1:46:53Speaker 7: Oh that's a lot of points, I thought.
- 1:46:56Speaker 6: Yeah, So in that case, I'm going to take the arms,
- 1:46:59Speaker 6: but I'll take the points for the Detroiters.
- 1:47:01Speaker 3: You know, do you think it should be closer?
- 1:47:05Speaker 4: I would have thought it would have been a little closer. Yeah,
- 1:47:08Speaker 4: let's think the way you think.
- 1:47:12Speaker 3: How do I think they know something? Yeah?
- 1:47:16Speaker 4: It makes me think that it's a red flag spread.
- 1:47:19Speaker 4: So with that in mind, I'm going to lay the points.
- 1:47:22Speaker 4: I'll take the Rams both ways.
- 1:47:23Speaker 3: You're right to do that, Paul Rams both ways.
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: Sunday at four twenty five on Fox, the Panthers seven
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: and six at the at the one. They have a
- 1:47:35Speaker 2: one game winning streak, the same.
- 1:47:39Speaker 4: The red hot Saints. Yeah, oh, I think I have
- 1:47:43Speaker 4: this backwards. Let me check this. Let's move to another.
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: Ye okay, five Indianapolis on CBS eight and five, going
- 1:47:55Speaker 2: to Seattle ten and three.
- 1:47:57Speaker 7: Oh jesus, it.
- 1:47:58Speaker 3: Is gonna be a big spread.
- 1:47:59Speaker 4: Right, yes, Seattle by fourteen?
- 1:48:01Speaker 6: Oh man man, Well, poor Indianapolis. It was all going
- 1:48:06Speaker 6: so great and it hasn't been so great.
- 1:48:08Speaker 7: Since they got sauce. Not that it was related to that,
- 1:48:10Speaker 7: but I just have to kind of worked out. I
- 1:48:12Speaker 7: will take Seattle and yeah, I'm gonna lay the points,
- 1:48:16Speaker 7: lay the points.
- 1:48:17Speaker 2: Indyed imagine lating fourteen points?
- 1:48:20Speaker 7: I mean, is it gonna be Phil the Wors? Is
- 1:48:21Speaker 7: it possible?
- 1:48:22Speaker 4: I mean it was. I mean it's absolutely possible. I
- 1:48:24Speaker 4: don't think it will be.
- 1:48:25Speaker 3: But they're gonna have to make a roster move though
- 1:48:27Speaker 3: to get him on the ross.
- 1:48:28Speaker 4: Seattle Seattle, h Yeah, I'm gonna take Seattle both ways.
- 1:48:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:48:35Speaker 2: I just can't see Indianapolis competing in this game. So
- 1:48:40Speaker 2: Seattle both ways.
- 1:48:42Speaker 4: Not exactly an easy venue or defense to oppose if
- 1:48:46Speaker 4: you're a forty four year old guy coming up for
- 1:48:47Speaker 4: a five year hiatus, right, welcome to like the Do
- 1:48:50Speaker 4: you want to go back to the Yeah it's it's
- 1:48:52Speaker 4: Carolina by two and a half. I had Newell once
- 1:48:55Speaker 4: by two and a half. I thought that looked funny,
- 1:48:56Speaker 4: So I want to just make sure that I had it.
- 1:48:58Speaker 6: Right on Panthers, Baby, lay the points.
- 1:49:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I do it.
- 1:49:08Speaker 4: Carolina lost to the Saints the first time they played
- 1:49:11Speaker 4: at home, and I gotta think the Panthers are like,
- 1:49:14Speaker 4: we can't overlook them. So I'll take Carolina.
- 1:49:16Speaker 3: Boy, Yeah, Carolina wins this game. This is this is
- 1:49:20Speaker 3: a lock.
- 1:49:20Speaker 4: I think these teams are more similar than your think.
- 1:49:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a lock, Carolina, We both stink. Four twenty
- 1:49:26Speaker 2: five on Fox Tennessee two and eleven at the forty
- 1:49:30Speaker 2: nine Ers nine and four.
- 1:49:32Speaker 4: San Francisco by twelve and a half. That's a lot
- 1:49:35Speaker 4: of big spreads, A lot of big spreads.
- 1:49:37Speaker 6: Yeah, I thinks tends about a little bit of a sparkle,
- 1:49:41Speaker 6: not much.
- 1:49:41Speaker 7: I'm gonna I'm gonna lay the points.
- 1:49:45Speaker 4: Me too, Yeah, San Francisco both ways.
- 1:49:48Speaker 3: Yeah, me too? All right.
- 1:49:51Speaker 2: Sunday Night eight twenty NB Sure The Peacock University Minnesota
- 1:49:58Speaker 2: five and eight against Alas six, six and one.
- 1:50:01Speaker 22: Do they play any time Broncos ran Yeah, I know
- 1:50:06Speaker 22: Dallas of course in primetime every week.
- 1:50:09Speaker 4: Yeah, Dallas by five and a half, tiven.
- 1:50:11Speaker 7: And a half. It's a good number.
- 1:50:13Speaker 6: I think, Uh, Minnesota showed a little last week. I'm
- 1:50:16Speaker 6: gonna take Dallas, though. I'm gonna take Dallas at home
- 1:50:19Speaker 6: and I'm gonna.
- 1:50:19Speaker 7: Lay the points.
- 1:50:20Speaker 10: Cowboys, Cowboys.
- 1:50:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna take Dallas both ways. To be interested
- 1:50:26Speaker 4: to see if JJ McCarthy can put a couple of
- 1:50:28Speaker 4: good games together to close out the season and maybe
- 1:50:30Speaker 4: eat some of the featers in Minnesota. He played well
- 1:50:32Speaker 4: last week.
- 1:50:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't.
- 1:50:33Speaker 4: Let's see if he can do it.
- 1:50:35Speaker 3: Minnesota covers, folks. Not a lock, but they cover.
- 1:50:40Speaker 4: Not not necessarily willing to say it's a lock YEP.
- 1:50:43Speaker 2: Monday Night eight fifteen on ESPN, Miami is six and seven.
- 1:50:48Speaker 2: They go to Pittsburgh seven and six, Pittsburgh by three.
- 1:50:53Speaker 7: Hmm. I'm gonna go with Yeah, I'm gonna go with
- 1:50:57Speaker 7: the upset on this one. I'm gonna go to Miami.
- 1:50:58Speaker 6: I know last week I picked you know, I think
- 1:51:00Speaker 6: the Jets to beat Miami in the weather. You don't thinking, Oh,
- 1:51:02Speaker 6: maybe they'll be cold, but they play well. I'm gonna
- 1:51:04Speaker 6: take Miami with the upset.
- 1:51:06Speaker 10: I'll take the Steelers.
- 1:51:09Speaker 4: Yeah, this one's tough for me. I agree with Fred
- 1:51:12Speaker 4: because you just don't know what you're gonna get out
- 1:51:14Speaker 4: of both teams. Right, I'm gonna go with Deuce. I'm
- 1:51:19Speaker 4: gonna take the upset. Hopefully it won't be too too
- 1:51:22Speaker 4: cold for Tua. I know, if he only won one game,
- 1:51:25Speaker 4: and that was last week, he generally only beats the
- 1:51:27Speaker 4: Jets in Benwell. All right, Okay, yeah, so I'll take Miami.
- 1:51:31Speaker 2: Thinking here, My thinking here is that I don't want
- 1:51:34Speaker 2: Miami coming in having it mean anything when they play US.
- 1:51:39Speaker 2: So I want Miami to lose Pittsburgh wins. There you go,
- 1:51:43Speaker 2: all right.
- 1:51:44Speaker 4: I think you should be rooting for Pittsburgh as a
- 1:51:46Speaker 4: Patriots fan anyway, because I think you'd rather Pittsburgh win
- 1:51:48Speaker 4: that division than Baltimore's Cincinnati.
- 1:51:50Speaker 3: Okay, another reason, what do you think? Sure, I'll go
- 1:51:53Speaker 3: with that.
- 1:51:54Speaker 4: I think they're the least talented of those three teams.
- 1:51:57Speaker 3: Okay, so I'm going for Pittsburgh. All right.
- 1:52:00Speaker 2: Now we move back to Sunday at one, and this
- 1:52:04Speaker 2: game is on CBS. It's Buffalo nine and four against
- 1:52:09Speaker 2: New England eleven and two.
- 1:52:12Speaker 4: Buffalo by one and a half as of this morning.
- 1:52:15Speaker 4: I don't know what it is right this Semond.
- 1:52:17Speaker 3: That's what we're going for.
- 1:52:18Speaker 7: We're locking in.
- 1:52:19Speaker 3: We're locking in one and a half, one and a.
- 1:52:21Speaker 4: Half Buffalo, all right, huge game.
- 1:52:23Speaker 6: I'm gonna take the Patriots. I just think it comes
- 1:52:25Speaker 6: down to the last couple possessions. I guess the question
- 1:52:28Speaker 6: I'm wondering, and we do have a few minutes here,
- 1:52:29Speaker 6: is would you rather have a lead and let them
- 1:52:33Speaker 6: have the last possession trying to score, or would you
- 1:52:35Speaker 6: rather be down and have to try to get the
- 1:52:37Speaker 6: last score.
- 1:52:38Speaker 4: With I would rather be down. I would always rather
- 1:52:40Speaker 4: be down have the ball.
- 1:52:41Speaker 7: Yeah. Interesting, Well, I think that's what's gonna happen.
- 1:52:43Speaker 6: And I got Drake leading the first game winning or
- 1:52:46Speaker 6: second second game winning drive of the season and of
- 1:52:48Speaker 6: his career, perhaps the fourth quarter, first fourth quarter come
- 1:52:51Speaker 6: back of his career. I'm gonna take the Patriots thirty
- 1:52:54Speaker 6: five thirty three.
- 1:52:57Speaker 7: No, it's it's gonna be.
- 1:52:58Speaker 6: It's gonna be tough, Fred, It's gonna be especially live
- 1:53:01Speaker 6: ups and downs.
- 1:53:01Speaker 7: Josh Allen, a.
- 1:53:02Speaker 6: Couple of big plays, a lot a heavy size, yeah yeah,
- 1:53:05Speaker 6: but also a lot of like there we go, you know,
- 1:53:07Speaker 6: a lot of that. I just I think it's going
- 1:53:09Speaker 6: to be one of those roller coaster games back and forth.
- 1:53:12Speaker 10: Patriots twenty seven, Bills twenty four.
- 1:53:18Speaker 4: Yeah, it was dirty pool right there, Alex. I said
- 1:53:22Speaker 4: that score first.
- 1:53:24Speaker 10: You did, and I told you I had the same
- 1:53:25Speaker 10: one written down.
- 1:53:28Speaker 4: Alex and I have the same score. I like the Patriots.
- 1:53:30Speaker 4: There's a lot of intangible qualities about this game that
- 1:53:33Speaker 4: I think favorite New England. I feel like Buffalo has
- 1:53:37Speaker 4: sort of been in desperation mode for a few weeks,
- 1:53:40Speaker 4: and I think when you do that, you know, you
- 1:53:42Speaker 4: kind of take a little gas out of the tank
- 1:53:44Speaker 4: with each one of them because they kind of have
- 1:53:46Speaker 4: to win some of these games. I think they're much
- 1:53:49Speaker 4: healthier the Patriots. I think they have that win, you know,
- 1:53:54Speaker 4: on the road that has really bolstered their confidence. And
- 1:53:59Speaker 4: I know it's not silly. We talked about it a
- 1:54:01Speaker 4: lot this week, but I think they're going to use it.
- 1:54:03Speaker 4: This stupid spread, I think is going to be part
- 1:54:05Speaker 4: of their motivation. You know, we're eleven and two, when
- 1:54:08Speaker 4: we're underdogs to a team that we already beat on
- 1:54:10Speaker 4: the road. You know, where's our respect? And I think
- 1:54:13Speaker 4: they're looking at it that way. I don't think it'll
- 1:54:16Speaker 4: be a blowout. I think Buffalo's good. Yeah, you know,
- 1:54:19Speaker 4: I know the Patriots fans think Buffalo stinks. So I
- 1:54:22Speaker 4: don't want to hear you crowing in the postgame. If
- 1:54:25Speaker 4: this game goes the way we say it's going to
- 1:54:26Speaker 4: go because you think Buffalo stinks, Mike, you and I
- 1:54:29Speaker 4: will be very impressed with this way. Fred's going to
- 1:54:31Speaker 4: come in with hats and T shirts right off the
- 1:54:33Speaker 4: field when it comes into the postgames, T shirts for
- 1:54:38Speaker 4: the whole cast and the other Alex You're welcome to
- 1:54:41Speaker 4: join if you want to come down on Shirley Temple's
- 1:54:43Speaker 4: all around all right. So Patriots twenty seven, twenty four,
- 1:54:45Speaker 4: they wrap up the a FCS for the first time
- 1:54:47Speaker 4: since twenty nineteen.
- 1:54:49Speaker 7: Wowoh, there we go. Set the stage. It's like Paton
- 1:54:52Speaker 7: coming out to get the speech.
- 1:54:53Speaker 4: I feel like, right, did I settle you by the
- 1:54:56Speaker 4: two positive?
- 1:54:57Speaker 3: No?
- 1:54:57Speaker 7: No, no, the only way we ever want a football game.
- 1:55:00Speaker 2: Listen. I think the six and Oero Rabel coming out
- 1:55:05Speaker 2: of the buy means something I think he gets. Like,
- 1:55:09Speaker 2: even when Belichick was here, Patriots weren't that always that
- 1:55:12Speaker 2: great coming out of the buy. Sometimes they were a
- 1:55:14Speaker 2: little nasty. But I think this team's going to come out.
- 1:55:19Speaker 2: I think they know. I don't even think they need
- 1:55:22Speaker 2: the motivation of the one and a half. I think
- 1:55:25Speaker 2: I think they still believe they have a lot to prove.
- 1:55:28Speaker 3: Nothing's been done. They're not satisfied.
- 1:55:31Speaker 2: Rabels mentioned it several times that nothing they've done so
- 1:55:35Speaker 2: far is enough.
- 1:55:37Speaker 3: They want more. So I think they're going to come
- 1:55:39Speaker 3: out right out of the gate. Tough game.
- 1:55:41Speaker 4: Though.
- 1:55:42Speaker 2: I give a lot of respect to Josh Allen. He's
- 1:55:44Speaker 2: a great quarterback. Thirty one twenty one Patriots.
- 1:55:48Speaker 4: Oh it was a lot closer, a lot closer than
- 1:55:50Speaker 4: I thought. I thought for sure it was gonna be
- 1:55:52Speaker 4: like thirty eight to three, A lot closer.
- 1:55:58Speaker 2: I think Allen is good enough to get twenty one point.
- 1:56:01Speaker 7: Yeah, he definitely is. It's uh.
- 1:56:03Speaker 4: I was waiting for Fred. We didn't come this far
- 1:56:04Speaker 4: just to come this far. Yeah, your little well, I'm.
- 1:56:08Speaker 7: Glad the weather. I'm glad the weather has has calmed down.
- 1:56:10Speaker 7: It's not quite the same. So did you have a
- 1:56:12Speaker 7: table pound.
- 1:56:13Speaker 2: I'm just saying that, when you have something presented to
- 1:56:16Speaker 2: you for the taking.
- 1:56:17Speaker 3: Take it.
- 1:56:18Speaker 7: Yeah, take it. Yeah.
- 1:56:19Speaker 3: And we have the AFC East right here for the taking. Yeah.
- 1:56:23Speaker 6: I don't want to lament those missed opportunities, but I'm
- 1:56:25Speaker 6: interested how the game's gonna declare. You know, is it
- 1:56:27Speaker 6: going to be both teams going back and forth right
- 1:56:30Speaker 6: out of the gate, or is it feeling out?
- 1:56:32Speaker 7: Is a little you know, sloppy.
- 1:56:33Speaker 3: This is a game that will not declare itself early.
- 1:56:36Speaker 4: Yeah, both teams score in the first quarter of this game, Yes,
- 1:56:39Speaker 4: I agree.
- 1:56:40Speaker 7: Yeah, I think I think so. I think that's the
- 1:56:42Speaker 7: kind of game it's going to be.
- 1:56:43Speaker 6: You know that maybe build some lulls, but I think
- 1:56:46Speaker 6: early and late there'll be a few scores.
- 1:56:49Speaker 2: You know, and there'll be some wacky things in wacky walls.
- 1:56:52Speaker 2: Will be on the post game show dissecting certain plays,
- 1:56:56Speaker 2: I'm sure.
- 1:56:56Speaker 7: Yeah, wearing hats, drinking Shirley temples.
- 1:56:59Speaker 4: There'll be something completely irrelevant to the game that Fred
- 1:57:03Speaker 4: and I will argue over eight minutes.
- 1:57:05Speaker 3: He's got his hands, so we're here to entertain. But
- 1:57:12Speaker 3: this is this is it, This is what we wanted, folks.
- 1:57:15Speaker 1: We're back in it.

- 1:57:24Speaker 6: you can't get tickets, Like this is going to be
- 1:57:25Speaker 6: an atmosphere. This is people are well aware of the
- 1:57:28Speaker 6: magnitude of this game and the opportunity, and this.
- 1:57:30Speaker 3: Is like an apartment in Tuscany.
- 1:57:33Speaker 1: They just can't get it.
- 1:57:36Speaker 3: There's nothing available.
- 1:57:37Speaker 6: See, this is when I'll be jealous walking through the
