  for the next season, we're gonna cover non seasonal anime again like we did

  with Ree zero, and that non seasonal anime is gonna be Banana Fish.

  Yeah. Yeah, So I want to start off by saying I don't know

  why I'm doing this. I think it's either a really good idea or a

  really bad idea, and I think it's probably a bad idea, but part

  of me just kind of wants to hurt me and maybe you too. So

  this is what we're doing. If you're not familiar with Banana Fish, I

  will, of course before we start the first episode go over a little bit

  about it, but I can tell you right now since this is a content

  warning, episode that it is pretty heavy topic wise. It's an adaptation of

  a shojo manga, which is the first time we're going to be covering shojo.

  And maybe with me saying that you have an idea of what's going to

  happen in this Maybe you've watched a lot of shojo or you haven't, but

  you know that shojo is things like sailor Moon or what's a good example of

  shojo, guys, fud Uba fruits Basket or Kimiinita donky or something like that,

  and you feel like you have a pretty good concept of what's going to

  happen. You're just wrong. You're really really wrong. So yeah, and

  that can be a good thing. It's good to have you preconceptions kind of

  smashed into oblivion. Sometimes sometimes it's not. So the real purpose of this

  is to just make sure that you understand that this is going to be a

  lot, like a lot, a lot, And if you are a person

  who's watched a lot of anime, maybe this won't feel like that much to

  you, But if you're not, it might it might feel like a pretty

  extreme look at what it's looking at. So I just figured I would go

  on to Google and I would look up content warnings so that I could give

  you the appropriate content warnings for this anime. Also, I want to tell

  you that it is a two core. It aired as a continuous two core,

  and we are going to cover both cores, and that is the entirety

  of Banana Fish. There is no more anime after that, and there will

  never be any more anime after that because the story ends. So it is

  actually going to be the first anime that we've covered in its entirety, which

  is going to be really interesting. But anyway, I went on Google and

  I looked up content warnings so I could give you all of the appropriate content

  warnings. I can tell you that I found twenty three topics that seem to

  get content warnings, and five of them are not important for Banana Fish,

  and those are so you don't have to worry about these animal death, childbirth,

  ableism, self harm, and sexism. That's it. The eighteen that

  are in Bananafish that you absolutely need content warnings for, and I will present

  them basically in order of how important they are to the plot. They are

  sexual assault, sexual content, kind of child abuse and pedophilia, abduction,

  and kidnapping, violence, drugs, torture, murder, death, homophobia,
• 3:53
  racism, eating disorders, blood, mental illness, abortion kind of, and

  incest sort of. And I'm sure that you have experienced anime with sexual assault

  in it. Obviously we've done that before with ten Goku Daimachio, and also

  maybe a little bit of Chainsaw Man, definitely chainsaw Man now in the manga,

  but a little bit back then too, So I know that you know

  that it exists, and maybe you've seen it in shows like sword Art Online

  where it is just kind of shoved into the second arc and the Aalysization arc

  randomly, maybe to make you hate the characters more, you know, make

  the evil characters see more evil. And it's done really badly in Sao,

  especially in Alyicization. In my opinion, I think it's terrible and cartoony.

  But this isn't one of those where it is thrown in as a very quick

  plot point where we're just trying to make a character look worse. Like I

  just said, in Sao, this is the whole thing. It is unfortunately,

  very very central to the plots. So basically I just wanted to warn

  you because I don't want you to go into this and not know. There'll

  be a content warning, a short one at the beginning of the first episode
