- 2:56So stop on by and don't forget to tell them Sunny
- 3:00Morning sent you. In local news, fans, community
- 3:06members, and family gathered at Birkeland Park
- 3:09Middle School to support Islam Meadow. while
- 3:12Stoughton High School traveled two and a half
- 3:14hours by bus for their round of 16 game on Wednesday
- 3:17afternoon. The home crowd was so large and positive
- 3:21that it was difficult to realize the Spartans'
- 3:24historic season ended in a 6 -2 loss. Stoughton
- 3:29set the tone early when catcher Kelsey Whitman
- 3:31launched a two -run home run, finishing the day
- 3:34with three runs batted in, as she was supported
- 3:37by teammate Julia Monaghan's contributions. Despite
- 3:42the loss, East Longmeadow head coach Jenna Parks
- 3:45appreciated the community's support, saying it
- 3:48was a great feeling to have so many people cheering
- 3:50them on. Now on to sports. NBA commissioner Adam
- 4:00Silver is not ready to adjust the league's 65
- 4:03-game rule just yet. Speaking ahead of Game 1
- 4:07of the NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs
- 4:11and New York Knicks, he defended the rule requiring
- 4:14players to compete in at least 65 games to be
- 4:18eligible for end -of -season awards. I think
- 4:21the rule is working, he said. This rule encourages
- 4:25star players to compete more often instead of
- 4:28resting due to injuries. While it has faced criticism,
- 4:32Silver remains content with the current standard.
- 4:35I'm not ready to support a change yet, he added,
- 4:38as the current collective bargaining agreement
- 4:41runs through the 2029 -30 season. In local sports,
- 4:46the Red Sox look to take the series this afternoon
- 4:49at Fenway against Baltimore in the rubber match.
- 4:53After dropping Game 1, Boston bounced back wicked
- 4:57strong yesterday, dismantling the Orioles 8 -1.
- 5:02Peyton Tall was outstanding on the mound with
- 5:04six scoreless innings, while the offense came
- 5:07out swinging early. William Abreu went deep with
- 5:11three RBIs, and Sadon Rafaela added three hits.
- 5:16Now Brian Bayo takes the ball against Trevor
- 5:19Rogers this afternoon at 1 .35, with both teams
- 5:24fighting for momentum heading into the weekend.
- 5:27Meanwhile, the Celtics are in the middle of a
- 5:29wild -off season. Giannis Antetokounmpo is intrigued
- 5:34by Boston, and the team's emerged as a wild card
- 5:37in the sweepstakes. But there's also trade speculation
- 5:41swirling around Jalen Brown, with the Pelicans,
- 5:45Rockets, Trailblazers, and Hawks all circling.
- 5:49Brown hasn't indicated he wants out, but the
- 5:52front office faces a critical decision. Do they
- 5:56go after a generational talent like Giannis?
- 5:59or reconfigure around Jason Tatum with a brown
- 6:03trade. Expect clarity on Giannis' future before
- 6:07the NBA draft kicks off June 23rd. In top news,
- 6:14at least 363 cases and 62 deaths have been confirmed
- 6:19in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. A deadly
- 6:23Ebola outbreak is continuing to spread across
- 6:26the country, with global health officials warning
- 6:29that We are still behind. As of Wednesday, cases
- 6:33have spread to Mambasa, suggesting the virus
- 6:36is continuing to expand geographically. The outbreak
- 6:40had a big head start, and we are still behind.
- 6:43But we're catching up, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus
- 6:47said. Public health response is ramping up, although
- 6:51contact tracing remains weak. Identifying contacts
- 6:55is challenging, especially with distrust in authorities
- 6:59and the stigma around Ebola. In business news,
- 7:04Bitcoin prices fell to their lowest levels since
- 7:07early April on Tuesday after a decline spurred
- 7:11by crypto treasury company Strategy, selling
- 7:14a small amount of its Bitcoin holding intensified.
- 7:17Traders on prediction market platform Kalshi
- 7:20think the cryptocurrency has more room to fall
- 7:23in its current crypto winter. There is a nearly
- 7:2780 % chance that the flagship cryptocurrency's
- 7:30price will fall below $60 ,000 in 2026. That
- 7:36would mean Bitcoin hitting a new low, tumbling
- 7:38below February's levels. Bitcoin prices are off
- 7:42more than 45 % since their highs of more than
- 7:46$120 ,000 last October. In crypto movement, Bitcoin

- 8:58Let's talk science. Daddy longlegs may be capturing
- 9:02and devouring frogs in the tropical forests of
- 9:05South America. These arachnids have been observed
- 9:08eating frogs, suggesting they may be predators
- 9:11of vertebrates. A new study reports daddy longlegs
- 9:15devouring live frogs larger than themselves.
- 9:19Finding these animals eating live frogs was a
- 9:21complete surprise, said Luis Fernando Garcia,
- 9:25a biologist at the University of the Republic
- 9:28in Uruguay. Jose Valdez, an ecologist in Germany,
- 9:32emphasized that predation by arthropods on vertebrates
- 9:36is quite common. The new paper, published in
- 9:39April, compiled reports of harpsmen eating frogs
- 9:42around their body size. The researchers noted
- 9:45these arachnids may hunt resting frogs with their
- 9:48strong front limbs. And in entertainment news,

- 10:42its compelling storytelling. However, Nick Shaker
- 10:46from The Daily Beast criticized it as an F -grade
- 10:49affair. Well, alrighty folks, it's time for the
- 10:54quote of the day. And today, our quote comes
- 10:58from the British Prime Minister during World
- 11:00War II, Winston Churchill. And he said, Success
- 11:05is not final. Failure is not fatal. It is the
- 11:08courage to continue that counts. And that's a
