- 3:06Speaker 3: You've got to check out his Facebook page.
- 3:09Speaker 3: He just updated his Facebook picture and it's fantastic.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Check out, kenny Fuller, what he's done.
- 3:17Speaker 3: I just hope, as it goes along, someday he's going to be, basically he's going to be famous and I'm going to have his theme song that he did for me personally.
- 3:26Speaker 3: And Kenny is just good.
- 3:28Speaker 3: People all around Love Kenny Fuller.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Shout out to him, thank you.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Check out what he's done.
- 3:35Speaker 3: He's a very good musician and just a great guy, so go with that.
- 3:42Speaker 3: We're the Scotchy Bourbon Boys wwwscotchybourbonboyscom.

- 4:15Speaker 3: Also, know that we are about to revamp Patreon, so look forward to that.
- 4:22Speaker 3: We'll be talking about that a little bit going forward.
- 4:24Speaker 3: And we are on all the, I just said, the social media Facebook, youtube, instagram and X.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Check us out there.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Plus, we are on all the major podcast formats which are podcasts on YouTube and then you can look it up on Spotify, apple iHeart.
- 4:47Speaker 3: We just had last Tuesday, two days ago, we just had Dan Stansberry from Stansberry in the morning.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Here are local radio morning hosts but you can go on to iHeart and listen to the Stansberry in the Morning show and it's great because you get him and his every day that he'll upload the podcast for that day and you get the show.
- 5:17Speaker 3: But he doesn't have music or the interruptions of the advertising like you do in his and you know he's on from 6.05 till right before 10 o'clock, so it's a four hour show but you get all the stuff that he talks about and he's intriguing.
- 5:33Speaker 3: So I recommend check him out on iHeart Radio.
- 5:36Speaker 3: His podcast is also on Apple but he works for the iHeart Radio Station 106.9, rock 106.9 in the Canton area.
- 5:46Speaker 3: But it's well worth listening to.
- 5:48Speaker 3: I highly recommend it.
- 5:51Speaker 3: But what I also wanted to cover you know a little bit now that I've gotten through all the promotions and we've done everything like that.
- 6:00Speaker 3: So, chinese, I'm here by myself tonight.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Ct, I'm just going to run through the current people on the podcast.
- 6:10Speaker 3: We've got myself Tiny.
- 6:13Speaker 3: If you're listening for the first time or you know you're coming on to see what's going on, I'm Tiny.
- 6:20Speaker 3: I'm going to consistently be here.
- 6:23Speaker 3: I know that in some cases I'm probably not everybody's favorite scotchy bourbon boys.
- 6:29Speaker 3: That's fine.
- 6:29Speaker 3: I've been running this podcast.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Now we are in our fifth season.
- 6:35Speaker 3: We started podcasting in November of 2019, and we've stayed diligent.
- 6:41Speaker 3: We podcast on Tuesdays and Thursdays nights.
- 6:45Speaker 3: We go live on Facebook and YouTube, 8.30 Eastern Daylight Time and check us out if we're kind of consistently there.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Now there's sometimes we have to miss a podcast during the week.
- 7:02Speaker 3: I'm working on that, but it's not often.
- 7:05Speaker 3: So we will let you know in a prior podcast if we're going to.
- 7:11Speaker 3: You know if we're going to, you know, miss that day.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Based off of events where we're going, I will tell you March 20th, which is a Wednesday.
- 7:22Speaker 3: So March 21st probably not going live at 8.30 at night.
- 7:27Speaker 3: That's the podcast we are going to be at New Orleans Bourbon Festival.
- 7:30Speaker 3: So those are reasons why.
- 7:32Speaker 3: But what you're going to get listening to the scotchy bourbon boys when we go to the New Orleans Bourbon Festival you're going to get bonus podcasts just based off of going there.
- 7:41Speaker 3: You're going to get YouTube videos.
- 7:43Speaker 3: You're going to get everything.
- 7:45Speaker 3: So what I want to do is okay.
- 7:47Speaker 3: So myself is tiny.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Then there's Chris Thompson, ct.
- 7:52Speaker 3: There is the longest tenured right now besides myself, supernash, which is Martin Nash.
- 8:00Speaker 3: He has been a part of our podcast.
- 8:03Speaker 3: We started podcasting in November of 19, and his first podcast was in December of 19, where he came up from South Carolina.
- 8:14Speaker 3: So Supernash.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Supernash is responsible also for getting us some of our whiskey.
- 8:23Speaker 3: He used to be responsible for all of our whiskey.
- 8:26Speaker 3: The group was formed by myself and we started out as a Facebook group, and it was.
- 8:34Speaker 3: We had a base number of members.
- 8:36Speaker 3: I think we're up to nine official members in the Facebook group.
- 8:41Speaker 3: It was myself.
- 8:42Speaker 3: We have a truck driver at my work, ray Boe.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Pelican Ray has left to go to New York or New Jersey and come back.
- 8:53Speaker 3: He hasn't ever been a part of the podcast, but he's part of the group and we haven't had a meeting lately, but I was thinking of asking him to come to one of the meetings as we go up, get further.
- 9:07Speaker 3: And then it consisted of Don Casey and his wife.
- 9:11Speaker 3: It also consisted of young nose Johnson.
- 9:15Speaker 3: He was John Rayner, one of the me, and John founded the podcast and the group because we felt that, you know, we wanted to figure out whiskey and we had been.
- 9:29Speaker 3: You know, it all started from a whiskey calendar where we were reading the reviews and we're like there's no way whiskey, no way you know, different scotches and and Irish whiskey.
- 9:41Speaker 3: They didn't have the tasting notes.
- 9:43Speaker 3: So we started tasting and found out that that's what it was.
- 9:46Speaker 3: So there was him and then there was Bill Verna, which was eventually Xavier, who has gone his own way, and we.
- 9:56Speaker 3: His son, which would have been Nick Verna, was part of the group and since then some of the group members have fallen out.
- 10:06Speaker 3: But we have new group members.
- 10:07Speaker 3: We right now.
- 10:09Speaker 3: But let's just keep going forward.
- 10:12Speaker 3: So, as we went forward right now, currently, like I said, we've got Chris Thompson, ct myself, tiny, got super Nash.
- 10:20Speaker 3: We've got Roxy, my wife, rachel Mueller.
- 10:25Speaker 3: She has been a part of it and supporter from the start, and then also Now she didn't love whiskey right off the bat, so Supernash came on the podcast before Roxy did and so he's been podcasting with us Before my what even my wife was podcasting.
- 10:46Speaker 3: And then we also have whiskey.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Who is Carl Henley?
- 11:37Speaker 3: Those are our current group members.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Now we also have a barrel head which is barrel.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Ahead is Andrew Camden, and the reason why he's called barrel head is because he makes these fantastic barrel heads for everybody.
- 11:58Speaker 3: I have an external, eh, taylor hanging up in right over there.
- 12:03Speaker 3: His barrel heads are fantastic.
- 12:06Speaker 3: He loves to do him.
- 12:07Speaker 3: He does artwork, it's it's therapy for him and we really appreciate everything he does with woodwork and everything.
- 12:14Speaker 3: So having him on was great.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Has a huge amount of variety in my total unbiased opinion.
- 12:21Speaker 3: Yeah, let's see.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Are we talking?
- 12:24Speaker 3: Stacy came on, stacy Stearns, who loves Irish whiskey, and then I'm just so that's the group right there.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Right now we and then right also Jamie Jacobs James Jacobs on Facebook is in the process of we are working him into the podcast a little bit, and barrel head We've been working him a little bit more and more.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Jamie and Barrel head are gonna be coming on the barrel pick we're doing tomorrow down in French lick.
- 13:02Speaker 3: So that's gonna be a lot of fun.
- 13:03Speaker 3: We look forward to that.
- 13:05Speaker 3: So that group, the group, that now the way that we have the group set up is we have myself who podcasts Consistently now up until last year, like late, late or mid last year, we had a young nose who was the original founder chiming in, but he hasn't been, he's been, he's got two children, he lives in South Carolina and I believe that he's probably Podcasts for the last time, unless he reaches out and wants to get back into this.
- 13:40Speaker 3: He's kind of gone by the wayside.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Then Xavier, who, bill Verna?
- 13:44Speaker 3: He went by the wayside.
- 13:46Speaker 3: And so our group right now keeps evolving, and evolving is a cool thing.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Now what?
- 13:53Speaker 3: What is?
- 13:53Speaker 3: There's a difference.
- 13:54Speaker 3: So we got the podcast group and the podcast group is, like I said, tuesdays and Thursdays, 830 live on Facebook, and then we're then we record what like right now I'm recording and that will get up sometime tonight.
- 14:07Speaker 3: You'll be able to see it late tonight or early tomorrow morning.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Check it out, you can listen on any audio podcast that you know, that type of thing.
- 14:16Speaker 3: But then we have the Facebook group, which is part of Everything.
- 14:21Speaker 3: We've got a lot of people in that group.
- 14:23Speaker 3: And then we have the friends of the scotchie bourbon boys, the good friends, I would say, the people who make the whiskey and Go about, you know, at distilleries Blending help us.
- 14:39Speaker 3: They've.
- 14:40Speaker 3: They've given us the information to understand how whiskey is made, how it's matured.
- 14:46Speaker 3: They are very much involved in the industry.
- 14:51Speaker 3: And there's two people that come to mind Instantly, and then there's three, total one and they're all good friends.
- 15:00Speaker 3: So I would like to I don't want to say one another Greg Schneider he was talking to us Right away.
- 15:08Speaker 3: I mean, it was unbelievable.
- 15:10Speaker 3: He liked what we were doing and he was bringing back the chicken cock brand right there in 2020.
- 15:18Speaker 3: He was on the podcast right before Covid hit and then all throughout ever since.
- 15:24Speaker 3: And then there's Alan Bishop, of the spirit of French lick.
- 15:28Speaker 3: He's the same way, has given us so much information and been a good friend.
- 15:33Speaker 3: We've spent a lot of time with Greg and with Greg Schneider and Alan Bishop Just great people.
- 15:43Speaker 3: When we get together, there's no telling what's gonna happen.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Shirts can fly off, I mean it just.
- 15:51Speaker 3: It just can get wild.
- 15:51Speaker 3: So A lot of shouts shout out to those you know, to Alan and Greg, because they, without them, I don't think we'd be anywhere near here.
- 16:03Speaker 3: I'll give a shout out also to Martin Duffy.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Martin Duffy is the Glenn Karen glass representative for North America.
- 16:10Speaker 3: Martin has guided us in a lot of ways.
- 16:14Speaker 3: He's introduced us into a lot of people.
- 16:16Speaker 3: He knows a lot of people in the industry and he can't say enough.
- 16:20Speaker 3: And then also Sandy know, fred know and Fred know and Freddie knows mom Sandy has been.
- 16:28Speaker 3: We had her on the podcast early on.
- 16:33Speaker 3: We've basically been he's.
- 16:35Speaker 3: She's made us feel a part of their family, fred and Freddie, hey, and then you know, little book.
- 16:43Speaker 3: I mean it's just been a fantastic ride with Sandy know so Well as the podcast was evolving.
- 16:52Speaker 3: We've had these people on and we've been able to get very very good Interviews and real life portrayals of what it's like to be a distiller, a distilling family, or you know a person who is starting up a brand, you know someone who runs a pot.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Still, these these interviews are, I feel we've given off some a lot of good educational information.
- 17:24Speaker 3: I mean it's just been a fantastic ride.
- 17:28Speaker 3: But that's not just.
- 17:30Speaker 3: I mean there's so many people that we've met Christy Atkinson, who hopefully I'll get to see tomorrow.
- 17:39Speaker 3: She recently introduced us to Mark Carter of old Carter, and then we've got to drink some fantastic whiskey with all of these people and then I just you know, when you go over, we were just at Burns Pub and Martin Kennedy and Pat Burns, who have started the Irish whiskey brand.
- 18:03Speaker 3: We were just there this past Sunday and had a blast.
- 18:10Speaker 3: And then there's and dimmick, who we met through watershed distillery, which is a Columbus distillery here in Ohio, when her and Aaron Harris and Aaron Harris is just as good of a friend of the podcast he's been on four or five times and and in Harris and and Aaron have been the greatest people towards us, so accommodating, so awesome.
- 18:39Speaker 3: And dimmick, I can't say enough.
- 18:42Speaker 3: And now that she works at OHLQ she's been guiding us through being able to get barrel picks and also inviting us to Ohio barrel picks and then also to the events that happen throughout Ohio.
- 18:59Speaker 3: So, yeah, stacy Stacy Stearns, who was at our podcast this past Sunday with Pat and Martin, it was fantastic.
- 19:11Speaker 3: It was great to meet Stacy I she's thrown out that if I need to know more about Irish whiskey, she's the person I should be contacting.
- 19:21Speaker 3: One of the people I should be contacting.
- 19:23Speaker 3: I did bring home a good amount of stuff from the Ohio had an Irish whiskey event that they kicked off this weekend.
- 19:31Speaker 3: That was Friday in Cincinnati, saturday in Cleveland and Sunday in Columbus, and all three days Fred Minnick was there.
- 19:40Speaker 3: I got to meet Fred Minnick.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Fred's a great guy.
- 19:44Speaker 3: We've talked a little bit but I finally got to meet Fred.
- 19:47Speaker 3: I was super excited about meeting Fred.
- 19:50Speaker 3: I mean, you know this is one thing that the podcast now, when we were there, we had.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Jamie Jacobs was there and so was CT.
- 20:00Speaker 3: So, based off of going to this event, we all kind of got to hang out with Fred for a little bit and, you know, talk whiskey and do that.
- 20:11Speaker 3: So you get all these types of events that happen.
- 20:14Speaker 3: And you know, I wanted to say, you know, aaron Harris is the master distiller right now of Green River, but we've done podcasts with Nick Smith and also Steve Nally from Bargstown Bourbon Company.
- 20:28Speaker 3: We've been to Bargstown Bourbon Company many times through Greg Schneider.
- 20:35Speaker 3: One of the cool things about running the podcast is, yes, we're in Canton, ohio, and we do meetings.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Now we've only had our Christmas party meetings so we were due for a meeting Whiskey is thinking of doing we're going to set a date and do a bottle share meeting up in right off a fair up in Fairlawn at his office.
- 21:00Speaker 3: So hopefully that comes through.
- 21:01Speaker 3: So we get a two or three times, hopefully two times a year, that we get to meet and that meetings we can invite people.
- 21:09Speaker 3: But we also go to things like we just went to a bottle share myself and CT that Randy Randall Sullivan Randy Sullivan of Bourbon Real Talk came up and met with Northeast Ohio Bourbon community and basically at the Imagination Museum in Mansfield Ohio we went and had a bottle share and Randy was there, jamie Jacobs again was at the event, ct was there and then Matt Lysen who is watching tonight and Matt is Cleveland on the rocks and it's really cool because Matt does his podcast up in the Strongsville area and we are.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Last year we went up there and we're on Cleveland on the rocks.
- 22:04Speaker 3: So we we did a two different films one for the Scotchie Bourbon Boys right there and then also a Cleveland on the Rocks episode.
- 22:14Speaker 3: So we were able to really kind of have a great Irish whiskey what would you say, an Irish St Patrick's Day and that was on Friday.
- 22:26Speaker 3: So this year I'm excited because we're going up on Sunday It'll be Sunday morning for St Patrick's Day with with Matt.
- 22:34Speaker 3: Hopefully Matt Koza will be making some steak and eggs in the driveway before we get going.
- 22:40Speaker 3: So we put down a base before we do this podcast for St Patrick's Day.
- 22:45Speaker 3: So we've kind of got a tradition going with Matt.
- 22:48Speaker 3: So there's so much that goes on and I haven't even covered all the other stuff.
- 22:54Speaker 3: So, being part of the group once a year and I've been I wanted to do it twice a year but it just doesn't work out because of all the stuff we're doing.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Last year we went to well, this year once a year during the week of Kentucky Bourbon Festival, because we go down to Kentucky Bourbon Festival.
- 23:15Speaker 3: El Presidente, our El Presidente, randy perhaps, is the president of Kentucky Bourbon Festival and we've been kind of with him and supporting him from the start of when he started in at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival one of the ties that me and Randy have together as we both grew up as kids at the same time in Wisconsin and then as young adults Randy was getting into different things and he actually ran the Wisconsin State Fair and I basically was attending yearly regularly when his tenure was with the fair and he was doing the improvement and I noticed many times.
- 23:56Speaker 3: So, having Randy as the president of our, of our group and such a great guy, randy has been nothing but spectacular and his wife, kate, he, has also become not just a friend of the Scotchy Bourbon Boys but my friend and I really appreciate everything that Randy did with the festival.
- 24:22Speaker 3: But also we do things throughout the year.
- 24:25Speaker 3: We went up in this past November and saw a packer game together doing things other than just bourbon.
- 24:34Speaker 3: So I I love you man.
- 24:37Speaker 3: You've been such a great help to doing what then such a big part of the Scotchy Bourbon Boys.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Now there's a story that when we first were going down and we were meeting Randy and the festival had been canceled for the Scott, the Scotchy Bourbon Boys and there was they had rescheduled, but we went and stayed at our place anyways and was we were going through and visiting distilleries instead of the festival which had to become in went from September November early November went virtual and they had a notice that it was.
- 25:24Speaker 3: But we got to meet Randy and he came over to our house and did a podcast with us to talk about the festival, the virtual festival, and Super Nash was there and he wasn't Super Nash and he was just Martin and we're sitting there and we're like well, I'm tiny, that's my nickname and we had other nicknames in the place.
- 25:45Speaker 3: And then I'm we're like you should be El Presidente, the president of the of the Scotchy Bourbon Boys, you're the president of Kentucky Bourbon Festival, but why not be our president?
- 25:55Speaker 3: And then he's like well, what's Nash's thing?
- 25:59Speaker 3: And he came up with Super Nash's nickname and that was really kind of cool.
- 26:05Speaker 3: But Randy has been every bit of development of the Scotchy Bourbon Boys and supporting us along the way, and this this coming year is no different.
- 26:18Speaker 3: So actually I'm going to be able to meet up with Randy and Kate for a couple hours I'm I will be right before I go back on Saturday.
- 26:27Speaker 3: So I'm looking forward to seeing them.
- 26:29Speaker 3: As always, actually, I can bring down some tropes for him.
- 26:34Speaker 3: That's one of the things he.
- 26:35Speaker 3: That's the beer brand that he loves.
- 26:38Speaker 3: A plug for Troes it's out of Pennsylvania, it doesn't get into Kentucky, but it gets up here in Ohio.
- 26:43Speaker 3: So whenever I'm at the liquor store, I'm looking to pick up a 12 or a six pack of that.
- 26:48Speaker 3: All right, so, anyways, that gets us into the next level of.
- 26:55Speaker 3: You know, the Kentucky Bourbon Festival was something that Barrel Proof Podcast is hey, what's up?
- 27:03Speaker 3: Good to see you guys.
- 27:05Speaker 3: I'm not sure exactly, but I'm going to think that the that, the Barrel Proof Podcast, that's probably the Dario, hopefully.
- 27:18Speaker 3: That would be my guess.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Anyways, then, we've met so many people that support us and, through the Kentucky Bourbon Festival, every time we go someplace again, we keep having more and more people come up and tell us how much they love the podcast, and that's a lot of fun to do.
- 27:41Speaker 3: And a lot of that has to do with every year where, at Kentucky Bourbon Festival and then the last two years, we've been at Bourbon on the banks, and this year we're gonna be at Kentucky Bourbon Festival and Bourbon on the banks and I got to thank AMSI winning for that, and then also I have to thank Diane Strong and Renee True.
- 28:05Speaker 3: They have been spectacular.
- 28:07Speaker 3: We'll have a booth there again, hopefully this year, and Renee is watching right now.
- 28:13Speaker 3: So I give a shout out to Bourbon on the banks at a fantastic festival that's growing each year and I'm looking forward to what's gonna happen this year, but once again, it's a reason for everybody to get together.
- 28:26Speaker 3: Now I'm not gonna remember trade this year, though coming up.
- 28:31Speaker 3: Those are two festivals that are a little bit away.
- 28:34Speaker 3: I know tickets are on sale already for Bourbon on the banks and I know, in April, kentucky Bourbon Festival tickets.
- 28:41Speaker 3: You're gonna want to get those folks and try and get some VP access, because the VP is insane.
- 28:46Speaker 3: It's what's gonna happen this year.
- 28:49Speaker 3: I'm looking forward to the looking for the media and everything, but then also we, on this March, are headed down to the New Orleans Bourbon Festival.
- 29:01Speaker 3: You can everybody who's down in New Orleans come by say hi.
- 29:05Speaker 3: We're gonna be running around the people.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Me, supernation, roxy are gonna be there from Wednesday to Sunday.
- 29:12Speaker 3: Whiskey will join us on Friday at some time and we are going to be absolutely killing it.
- 29:24Speaker 3: We're gonna be at the festival.
- 29:26Speaker 3: We're gonna try and do dinners.
- 29:27Speaker 3: I was talking to Greg Schneider and hopefully there's gonna be a chicken cock dinner.
- 29:32Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know for sure, but we're playing this by ears.
- 29:36Speaker 3: It's Colin Sims right now.
- 29:38Speaker 3: But yes, darryl, it's a part.
- 29:40Speaker 3: Okay, colin, nice thanks for saying hi and watching.
- 29:44Speaker 3: I really appreciate it.
- 29:47Speaker 3: When I get to Wisconsin one of these times, I gotta we gotta meet up, maybe do a little cross podcasting thing.
- 29:53Speaker 3: You guys are doing a great job.
- 29:55Speaker 3: I love what you're doing there with the, you know, with the podcast, and then also, as we keep going on and getting bigger and bigger, we're getting you know this it was really cool to be asked to come down and cover the New Orleans Bourbon Festival Going forward.
- 30:13Speaker 3: You know, I know that we're nowhere near as popular as Fred Minick, but you know, someday, who knows, we keep at it.
- 30:22Speaker 3: We do.
- 30:22Speaker 3: If you're gonna, if you're watching now, understand that our podcast isn't.
- 30:28Speaker 3: It is got consistently a group of guys who love bourbon, who love whiskey.
- 30:37Speaker 3: This is one thing where we're different is that we can cover all whiskeys.
- 30:42Speaker 3: We don't wear the scotchy bourbon boys, but Irish Japanese have been covered, scotch has been covered, martin Duffy has had us.
- 30:52Speaker 3: We've done a couple scotch.
- 30:53Speaker 3: There's gonna have to probably be a scotch podcast coming.
- 30:57Speaker 3: But also know that the reason why we're called the scotchy bourbon boys is because we went off of what when we were coming to come the name we we did what Ron Burgundy would do.
- 31:08Speaker 3: We just say he loves scotch and scotch is scotch, scotch, scotch.
- 31:12Speaker 3: And Supernash is known for doing his scotchy, scotch, scotch, scotch.
- 31:17Speaker 3: And one of the things that as we go about you know doing what we're doing, we do scotch.
- 31:25Speaker 3: And but one of the founding things of the group initially was at the end of each meeting we had pitched in and I would go back to Wisconsin and we could get a bottle of Johnny Walker blue for like a hundred and eighty dollars.
- 31:40Speaker 3: And Johnny Walker blue, when we first started out, was what we thought the ultimate, and whiskey.
- 31:48Speaker 3: I mean, it's what you know.
- 31:50Speaker 3: Golf clubs have a bot.
- 31:51Speaker 3: Everybody has a bottle on hand so if they get a hole in one, they open it up and share it with everybody.
- 31:57Speaker 3: I mean there's so many different things that happen with Johnny Walker blue and that was our staple for finishing every meeting that we're at.
- 32:07Speaker 3: That everybody got a pour of Johnny Walker blue and we'd all pitched together to get another bottle once, and so right now we've got the third bottle here.
- 32:17Speaker 3: We haven't had that tradition but I've offered it up many times so we could bring that back.
- 32:24Speaker 3: And so the meetings I want to bring back more so as we keep going forward.
- 32:33Speaker 3: But we keep getting bigger and we've gotten big enough where I'm gonna be setting up podcast meeting once a quarter.
- 32:44Speaker 3: So everybody who's part of this podcast knows where we're going, in the direction we're going.
- 32:51Speaker 3: We're at that point where I don't want to lose any more members based off miscommunication or what.
- 32:58Speaker 3: I feel that, what the role is or how we're gonna go about doing this, because what happens is right now my schedule and what's planned, and now I'm just gonna go through what I've already done.
- 33:12Speaker 3: But we, as the scotchy bourbon boys, know the people at OHLQ and through Kentucky Bourbon Festival and there's a lot of barrel picks that happen through the state of Ohio and the Kentucky Bourbon Festival and we get asked to go on them.
- 33:29Speaker 3: But we are asked individually, so myself or me and CT can be on them or what, whatnot.
- 33:36Speaker 3: The same thing right now.
- 33:38Speaker 3: The podcast really, I feel, can't get any bigger.
- 33:41Speaker 3: The people who are part of the podcast, because I'm already pushing.
- 33:45Speaker 3: You know there's a lot of podcasts out there that have two people or three people involved.
- 33:51Speaker 3: Well, when you have six people involved for filming and whatever, that's really pushing the limits of when you go to one, if you go to a festival or whatever, of the people who can get in.
- 34:05Speaker 3: So what I like to do is we are gonna be, you know, kind of working it out so that we have all the rules and regulations down to who gets to go to do this or what, or if somebody can't, who can do it for them, or if that's even a reason or how it would work.
- 34:25Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 34:26Speaker 3: But we're gonna set it up and get it going the proper way.
- 34:29Speaker 3: But I'm just upcoming March 20th through 24th.
- 34:34Speaker 3: You can see us at the New Orleans Bourbon Festival.
- 34:37Speaker 3: I am looking forward to that.
- 34:38Speaker 3: There are so many people that we know going down to it.
- 34:42Speaker 3: Come see us at New Orleans Bourbon Festival.
- 34:45Speaker 3: We have a barrel pick, I believe in on April 11th, thursday April 11th, that is through the Kentucky Bourbon Festival.
- 34:56Speaker 3: I don't at the moment can't give you.
- 35:00Speaker 3: It's a newer distillery.
- 35:02Speaker 3: We're going on that.
- 35:03Speaker 3: I know that there's gonna be a log still.
- 35:07Speaker 3: Barrel pick next Thursday, which is the 14th of March, and I know CT is gonna be going on that and then we've got a barrel pick through the state of Ohio at Starlight, which I believe is May 18th I want to say it's in May Wednesday, may 18th or 15th, whatever the Wednesday is there.
- 35:28Speaker 3: That's what we got for barrel picks and then I know that we're going out.
- 35:32Speaker 3: Hopefully we're gonna be able to get on a couple more barrel picks.
- 35:37Speaker 3: Stacey Prichard I wasn't gonna forget you, stacey.
- 35:40Speaker 3: She has been nothing but fantastic.
- 35:44Speaker 3: She works with the Kentucky Bourbon Festival.
- 35:47Speaker 3: She has made and done a lot of things.
- 35:52Speaker 3: I know that Randy really appreciates everything that goes on.
- 35:58Speaker 3: It's running a festival is not easy, but when you get a person that's motivated and the thing you have to do is, if anything for management is, hey, don't work so hard, you're working too hard or whatever.
- 36:15Speaker 3: But Stacey is just one of the most connected people that I know and anytime I get into the Louisville area or the Bardstone area I'm contacting her because not only does she know everybody, but she's just a great person and great to hang out with.
- 36:32Speaker 3: So kudos to being a friend of the Scotchie Bourbon Boys.
- 36:36Speaker 3: Stacey, you know we wouldn't be us without you.
- 36:40Speaker 3: You've helped us do so much.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Then you know, it's just like you meet a ton of people who have bourbon and you get to taste all these these things.
- 36:49Speaker 3: But another thing is in the past year we've met Brad Bonds.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Actually, rebecca Neely was telling us.
- 36:59Speaker 3: We always, on the way down or up, stop off at Neely and say hi to Rebecca and Royce.
- 37:04Speaker 3: Their distillery is fantastic, their gift chefs fantastic, their tours fantastic.
- 37:10Speaker 3: You get to taste some really good whiskey and absinthe.
- 37:14Speaker 3: So check out the Neely, the Neely family distillery right there by the Kentucky Speedway off a 71.
- 37:22Speaker 3: But Rebecca was like you have to meet Brad Bonds because when they were doing their old Jet Brother brand he was able to get a bottle of the whiskey that they were matching the flavor profile for for them and they opened it up in a video and did everything.
- 37:40Speaker 3: But Brad is a really great guy.
- 37:42Speaker 3: He he owns Revival Vintage Spirits and another good friend of the podcast.
- 37:50Speaker 3: He's in Covington.
- 37:51Speaker 3: We've been there multiple times and I can't tell you how crazy good Brad's, how crazy good tasting the dusties that Brad gets and some of the deals that he offers.
- 38:08Speaker 3: So you got to check out Revival Vintage Spirits there.
- 38:11Speaker 3: Brad's been doing a great job.
- 38:14Speaker 3: You just got to go down there and tell him that you heard about it on the Scotchy Bourbon Boy.
- 38:21Speaker 3: So he'll definitely.
- 38:23Speaker 3: You know he's fantastic when it comes to dusties.
- 38:29Speaker 3: So before meeting Brad I had very little vintage spirits experiences and since meeting Brad it's just been off the charts.
- 38:40Speaker 3: So thanks to Brad and Revival Vintage Spirits.
- 38:44Speaker 3: So then we've got coming up once we're done with the New Orleans Dudes, our spring trip, but we plan the week of the Scotchy Bourbon Boys.
- 38:57Speaker 3: So through the summer and everything, hopefully we'll be able to get that meeting for the Scotchy Bourbon Boys in there.
- 39:06Speaker 3: And then, you know, we've got a couple of barrel picks happening and I've got a family vacation in July and then August will hit.
- 39:17Speaker 3: But then September, this week, the second weekend in September, I believe, the 13th, the 12th, thursday, 12th, the night of the 12th, the Friday, the 13th, 14th and 15th is a Kentucky Bourbon Festival.
- 39:35Speaker 3: That week we come down for the full week before there.
- 39:39Speaker 3: We're going to be, I believe, the 7th.
- 39:42Speaker 3: We leave the Saturday, the 7th and we do a ton of stuff with Sandy.
- 39:48Speaker 3: So we go and we also have on the Wednesday, which I believe if that's the 12th, 13th, 14th.
- 40:00Speaker 3: So the 11th Again.
- 40:03Speaker 3: How that happened 12th, 13th, 14th yeah, it's the 11th.
- 40:09Speaker 3: Again, september 11th.
- 40:11Speaker 3: The pick last year was we did a pick for Elijah Craig.
- 40:14Speaker 3: We'll get into that in a sec.
- 40:16Speaker 3: But that 11th hopefully September 11th this year will be the Scotchie Bourbon Boys 4th annual bus trip and you're going to want to get in this.
- 40:29Speaker 3: I'll be putting it out there but you want to do, if you've not a part of the group yet, you want to basically get in, either get invited or request to come and be in the Scotchie Bourbon Boys Facebook group.
- 40:48Speaker 3: The group is where a lot of you're going to get all your information.
- 40:52Speaker 3: You find out about the meetings, the events, all the stuff that we're doing, when tickets are going to go on sale for Kentucky Bourbon Festival.
- 41:02Speaker 3: I mean everything there.
- 41:04Speaker 3: You want to join the Facebook group.
- 41:06Speaker 3: You're also going to want to do the Patreon, which we've got going right now, but I'm going to upgrade that real soon.
- 41:15Speaker 3: Me and my wife are talking about we got to do that coming up.
- 41:19Speaker 3: And then also YouTube.
- 41:21Speaker 3: Not only do we need you to subscribe, but there's YouTube memberships now.
- 41:26Speaker 3: Now, nobody signed up for the membership on YouTube, but if someone does, I promise you you're going to get a lot more than what that says.
- 41:35Speaker 3: So we're looking for that first couple of YouTube members in the different levels.
- 41:40Speaker 3: But if someone signed up, I promise you you're getting some really cool things.
- 41:45Speaker 3: We're going to make it worth your while.
- 41:47Speaker 3: And then you know.
- 41:51Speaker 3: So we've got the YouTube membership, we've got the Patreon membership and then what's been happening is we've been doing barrel.
- 41:59Speaker 3: We had a Knob Creek barrel pick and that went over well.
- 42:03Speaker 3: We had another barrel pick that went over extremely well, and then right now we have our Elijah Craig barrel pick, which is due any day.
- 42:12Speaker 3: It was a short barrel with only 72 bottles, so everybody who prepaid is getting a bottle, plus the members, and that's it.
- 42:21Speaker 3: So you're going to, we're going to be doing this next barrel pick and when it's ready and up, you're going to want to get in on it.
- 42:29Speaker 3: On the prepay for the vouchers, we allow prepaying for vouchers so that when the pick comes in, you're going to get your bottle and this.
- 42:41Speaker 3: There was a good 60, 70 people who you know didn't prepay and they're not going to get their bottle because there is none based off the pick.
- 42:52Speaker 3: Now, this next pick, I'm going to make sure the barrel's full.
- 42:54Speaker 3: It's just I don't know what to do.
- 42:58Speaker 3: I don't know how that barrel only produced 72 bottles, but picking it it was delicious.
- 43:04Speaker 3: Maybe that's why it was so good, because it was a short barrel, but I mean it was only 120 proof, 20.4 proof I think it was.
- 43:13Speaker 3: So there was straight in it's an Elijah Craig barrel proof.
- 43:17Speaker 3: We were there with Bernie lovers.
- 43:20Speaker 3: That was great.
- 43:21Speaker 3: The whole team picked.
- 43:22Speaker 3: So we'll probably be doing another pick, hopefully right before Kentucky Bourbon Festival.
- 43:30Speaker 3: Plus, now that we're doing so many picks, this next pick tomorrow I've got and then have invited people other than people who are just a part of the Scotchy bourbon boys.
- 43:42Speaker 3: That's Scotchy bourbon boys.
- 43:43Speaker 3: When we're doing a pick, get first dibs.
- 43:45Speaker 3: But if there's openings, we're going to have giveaways and contests to come on picks with us and if you're in the area, you're going to want to do that.
- 43:59Speaker 3: So it seems to be going really well and I can't wait for the Elijah Craig to come in and do our next pick.
- 44:08Speaker 3: Our next pick is going to be really unique and you want to get on it?
- 44:11Speaker 3: Just ask me on Facebook.
- 44:16Speaker 3: Now there's the Scotchy Bourbon boys group and then there's the Scotchy bourbon boys page, but then there's also the Jeffrey Mueller Facebook page.
- 44:26Speaker 3: You're going to want to sign up for that because I'm constantly personally doing what I do.
- 44:33Speaker 3: Ct does what he does.
- 44:34Speaker 3: We put all the stuff up over to the group.
- 44:40Speaker 3: But for the most part, if you want quick access to the podcasts, you want quick ask assets to what's going on tomorrow, that type of thing we run all the lives through my Jeffrey Mueller.
- 44:54Speaker 3: So if you're contacting me and commenting through the Jeffrey Mueller stream, I can see it and comment back.
- 45:07Speaker 3: So it really comes down to we're getting near the end.
- 45:12Speaker 3: We're going to be.
- 45:14Speaker 3: Let's just review.
- 45:15Speaker 3: You can see us.
- 45:16Speaker 3: We're going to have a meeting in the Fairlawn area sometime later in the spring and then in a bottle share, hopefully, and then we're going to be at New Orleans Bourbon Festival.
- 45:33Speaker 3: I can't wait for that.
- 45:34Speaker 3: Then we're going to be at Kentucky Bourbon Festival and Bourbon on the banks.
- 45:40Speaker 3: So we've got this all planned.
- 45:43Speaker 3: And then we also go down and see people.
- 45:46Speaker 3: I'll just, you know, the guys at Whiskey Thief, walter Zausch and Hannah Milleo.
- 45:53Speaker 3: Hannah's been nothing but spectacular for the Scotchy Bourbon boys.
- 45:58Speaker 3: She's great, those that I want to do a shout out.
- 46:02Speaker 3: And then Hunter Claffey.
- 46:04Speaker 3: I'm not exactly sure what he's doing now, but you know, shout out to you.
- 46:08Speaker 3: We've had Shannon Hood, great, great person that we've met down there.
- 46:15Speaker 3: We've got Ginny and Sarah, our girls in Bargstown that we meet up with all the time.
- 46:27Speaker 3: It's just, I know I'm I just when I was doing this I'm like you got to make a list so you don't forget anybody.
- 46:34Speaker 3: But you know, oh, wayne, and, oh my God, rebecca, no-transcript.
- 46:46Speaker 3: Yeah, that's it Right.
- 46:49Speaker 3: Is it Rebecca or Rachel?
- 46:50Speaker 3: I think it's.
- 46:52Speaker 3: Yeah, rebecca.
- 46:54Speaker 3: And the McBride McBriar, that's just been there.
- 47:01Speaker 3: They've been a fantastic supporter of the podcast.
- 47:03Speaker 3: Also.
- 47:04Speaker 3: Love to see you guys all around.
- 47:07Speaker 3: You know, you got Jamie.
- 47:09Speaker 3: Jamie, you've been doing a great job, there's no doubt about it.
- 47:13Speaker 3: I can't.
- 47:14Speaker 3: Yeah, mcbrayer, thank you.
- 47:16Speaker 3: And then Ed Bly Stubborn came on.
- 47:20Speaker 3: Dan Stansberry came on the podcast.
- 47:23Speaker 3: These are all people, great people, that you meet and talk about, you know, and just keep going through.
- 47:31Speaker 3: There is one more I have got.
- 47:35Speaker 3: Oh, barry Brinnaker has been on the podcast RD1.
- 47:40Speaker 3: Thank you for that.
- 47:43Speaker 3: We really appreciate his support.
- 47:46Speaker 3: And then let's see.
- 47:48Speaker 3: Yeah, that's it.
- 47:51Speaker 3: Oh, tyler Rothenberg is back at Chickencock and he is headed up with Greg Schneider and the team there at Chickencock Whiskey is just getting so strong and just looking forward to it, and we look forward to the next podcast with Greg Schneider, which is coming up next Thursday.
- 48:19Speaker 3: So I guess, if there's anything else, anybody have any comments or anything, I know that that's pretty much what the Scotchy bourbon boys are.
- 48:28Speaker 3: We're a group of people who love to have fun, run around Kentucky, see people do things, and we look forward to doing it again.
- 48:38Speaker 3: Tomorrow we're going to be in Indiana and then into Kentucky for into the weekend.
- 48:43Speaker 3: So if you see us about, you know Chris.
- 48:45Speaker 3: I mentioned Christie.
- 48:47Speaker 3: Hopefully we'll meet up with her and we also mentioned Walker right off the bat, and Jamie.
- 48:54Speaker 3: You guys have been such great supporters.
- 48:57Speaker 3: Also, andy Kamen barrelhead has been fantastic.
- 49:03Speaker 3: So this, this has been a wonderful evening.
- 49:07Speaker 3: I hope everybody kind of gets a little bit more what we're about as a podcasting group and then also a whiskey group and then also a touring podcasting group.
- 49:21Speaker 3: So it's been just spectacular and love to see you guys out and look forward to the next time we can share a pour, all right, so I'm tiny from the Scotchy bourbon boys, wwwscotchybourbonboyscom for everything Scotchy bourbon boys.
- 49:40Speaker 3: And then also we are on Facebook, instagram, youtube and X.
- 49:44Speaker 3: Check us out there.
- 49:45Speaker 3: And then, if you need to listen to us on any other format, we're on YouTube as a podcast.
- 49:51Speaker 3: And then also I heart radio, apple podcasts, apple music, spotify, you know, check us out.
- 49:59Speaker 3: If you can listen to a podcast, we're the one we are on it.
- 50:06Speaker 3: So remember everybody good bourbon equals good times and good bourbon, good whiskey equals good times and good friends.
- 50:17Speaker 3: Don't drink and drive.
- 50:20Speaker 3: Drink responsibly and live your life dangerously.
- 50:26Speaker 3: Will Steve's going to take us out?
- 50:42Speaker 2: Oh, show me the way to the next whiskey bar.
- 50:47Speaker 2: Oh, don't ask why.
- 50:52Speaker 2: Oh, don't ask why.
- 50:57Speaker 2: For if we don't find the next whiskey bar, I tell you we must die.
- 51:11Speaker 2: I tell you we must die.
- 51:13Speaker 2: I tell you, I tell you, I tell you we must die.
