Speaker 4: our good friend Rusty Webb, how you doing, my.
• 1:59
Speaker 6: Friend fantastic, my brother, my cousin from another County.
• 2:03
Speaker 4: Yes, yes, you and Meadows. You know Boone County guys.
• 2:07
Speaker 4: Oh yeah, we're a mortal enemy.
• 2:08
  Speaker 3: I knew that.
• 2:09
Speaker 4: Yeah, that's right. Yeah, he's a Boone Kenny guy, of
• 2:13
Speaker 4: course from Beautiful And if he's listening, he'll if I
• 2:16
Speaker 4: get this rung, he's from Beautiful. Downtown Sylvester, all right,
• 2:20
Speaker 4: that's a suburb of Whitesville. And I was in the
• 2:24
Speaker 4: Home County this past weekend, went down to La. Had
• 2:26
Speaker 4: to pick up a watch for my buddy Scott. Down
• 2:29
Speaker 4: its cheap plug for my buddy Scott at Saxe Jewelers
• 2:32
Speaker 4: and Logan And so I went down to pick up
• 2:35
Speaker 4: a watch. I was having repaired new restaurant. I'm gon
• 2:38
Speaker 4: give him a little plug here. There's a new restaurant
• 2:39
Speaker 4: on Main Street in Logan, rested. You would love it.
• 2:41
Speaker 4: It's called the nineteen ten.
• 2:43
  Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
• 2:44
Speaker 4: And the reason that I say that you would love
• 2:46
Speaker 4: it not because you were born in nineteen ten, Because
• 2:48
Speaker 4: you were not. However, the building, the building is the
• 2:53
Speaker 4: old Power Company, old Appalachia Power Company building in Logan,
• 2:56
Speaker 4: right across from mccormicks. I know, you know exactly where
• 2:58
  Speaker 4: it is.
• 3:00
Speaker 6: The last department store in West Virginia.
• 3:02
Speaker 4: It's may very well be yeah, yeah, and uh and
• 3:05
Speaker 4: so but Rafia, doctor Rafael Rodigero and his wife Joanna,
• 3:10
Speaker 4: I have opened up this place down there, and it
• 3:12
Speaker 4: is awesome. I mean they've sunk a whole lot of
• 3:15
Speaker 4: money into that building. So I'm gonna give him little
• 3:17
Speaker 4: cheap plug. That happened down in my home county where
• 3:20
Speaker 4: I resided for many many years. Uh stop, see him
• 3:25
Speaker 4: down there. Great burgers. And you may remember this, and
• 3:28
Speaker 4: I promise I'll get to what what I want you
• 3:31
Speaker 4: to talk about today, all right, you know I'll also
• 3:34
Speaker 4: say this. You may be old enough to remember in
• 3:36
Speaker 4: Logan years ago, there was a drive in called Pennies
• 3:38
Speaker 4: Drive in all right, on what we call the Holden
• 3:42
Speaker 4: Road I'm hunting road. I'm sorry, okay. So Joanna is
• 3:47
Speaker 4: the grand daughter of the owner of that place, and
• 3:51
Speaker 4: they brought back a burger. It was called the Big Penny,
• 3:54
Speaker 4: which is a burger with bacon, but it's got a
• 3:56
Speaker 4: special sauce on it. And so she has brought it back.
• 3:59
Speaker 4: So and so Penny's clothed like in the eighties, I think.
• 4:02
Speaker 3: But I was what what was the restaurant?
• 4:03
Speaker 6: I was a West logan like up up the up
• 4:06
Speaker 6: the gun dot Uh is that that's not West logan,
• 4:09
Speaker 6: It just be East slogan, I guess. But anyway, there's
• 4:13
Speaker 6: still a uh restaurant up there. I ate about a
• 4:19
  Speaker 6: month ago.
• 4:19
Speaker 4: What did you have there?
• 4:20
Speaker 6: It was a Hamburger place. It was an old school
• 4:22
Speaker 6: Hamburger joint with Morrison Yeah, Morrisons, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
• 4:28
Speaker 6: Listen when I go, when I go anywhere, I eat
• 4:31
Speaker 6: local in West Virginia. I mean that's just mine. I
• 4:34
Speaker 6: mean you can eat fat, you can eat franchise food anywhere,
• 4:37
Speaker 6: but you can't eat and if you don't, they're going
• 4:39
Speaker 6: to go away right then go away exactly right.
• 4:42
Speaker 4: And I get, you know when I see people. And
• 4:45
Speaker 4: we had this intane valley all the time where people
• 4:47
Speaker 4: will say, well we need There was an announcement that
• 4:50
Speaker 4: be to b W three is going to be opened
• 4:51
Speaker 4: up like a place up there, and and it automatically
• 4:54
Speaker 4: starts on social media. We need this and we need it.
• 4:57
Speaker 4: It's always some changes like how about we support the
• 4:59
Speaker 4: local place says we.
• 5:00
Speaker 6: Have bat patties every time I come through from Honting
• 5:02
  Speaker 6: to stop.
• 5:03
Speaker 4: A great restaurants. All right, so we're not gonna talk
• 5:05
  Speaker 4: about food.
• 5:06
  Speaker 2: All right.
• 5:07
Speaker 6: Now I'm down to uhtes you.
• 5:09
Speaker 4: We'll take some of Danny's styn.
• 5:11
Speaker 3: We have to take Danny's tyne, all right.
• 5:12
Speaker 4: So Thunder the Mountains is back.
• 5:14
Speaker 6: Yeah, and I need to wear a T shirt that
• 5:16
Speaker 6: says it's free because I never tell people. I just
• 5:19
Speaker 6: assume that since it's an open place, there no fences
• 5:23
Speaker 6: that everybody knows. But it's free. It's free, it's free.
• 5:26
Speaker 3: It's free. Sixth year.
• 5:34
Speaker 6: It's a singles tournament now, just like it was last year,
• 5:36
Speaker 6: but we went indoors. We've doubled the numbers. So you're
• 5:40
Speaker 6: gonna you're gonna see the best high school and college
• 5:44
Speaker 6: players in West Virginia. And the reason I say that
• 5:46
Speaker 6: is wv U Marshall and you see will all be there,
• 5:51
Speaker 6: six of you seeze players. Six are going to another tournament.
• 5:54
Speaker 6: I think they're sitting in their best six here and
• 5:59
Speaker 6: you see is a very good Division two team. But
• 6:02
Speaker 6: what's really cool is all of the countries that are represented. Okay,
• 6:07
Speaker 6: so Sweden, Czech Republic, Ukraine, France, Morgantown, Guadalupe, Morgantown, Italy,
• 6:18
  Speaker 6: North Carolina.
• 6:19
Speaker 4: Where a friend of Morgantown as a foreign country.
• 6:21
Speaker 6: UK, South Point, Ohio, and Charleston, West Virginia.
• 6:28
Speaker 4: How did you get all these people?
• 6:30
Speaker 6: I mean they're all students at at at the universities.
• 6:33
Speaker 4: Okay, okay, yeah, all right.
• 6:35
  Speaker 3: I had that.
• 6:36
Speaker 6: Really, I had the number one player, Meredith Baldwin, coming
• 6:41
Speaker 6: down from Wheeling Park, and she just canceled. She's just
• 6:44
Speaker 6: gotten too busy and doing a lot of traveling. But
• 6:47
Speaker 6: she's the number one player in West Virginia girls singles.
• 6:51
Speaker 6: But I have this young lady from Herbert Hoover Crystal Emball.
• 6:57
Speaker 6: She is her ranking is half of the person above her.
• 7:02
Speaker 6: She's the very bottom. So she's basically going it's gonna
• 7:05
Speaker 6: be David versus Goliath. I mean in a literal sense, like,
• 7:09
Speaker 6: but I love her tenacity, willing to play, you know,
• 7:14
Speaker 6: willing to take on a really good college player. And
• 7:17
Speaker 6: see we have a back draw, so you get you
• 7:19
Speaker 6: get to play twice no matter what. And then when
• 7:22
Speaker 6: courts open up, coaches will play players against each other
• 7:25
Speaker 6: because the whole idea is to get represent in the fall.
• 7:28
Speaker 6: But let me say, let me continue and continue to continue.
• 7:31
Speaker 6: Dax Miller. I had a meeting with him two weeks
• 7:33
Speaker 6: ago the park director here in Charleston, and I said, man,
• 7:38
Speaker 6: those those tennis those tennis nets are they've seen their
• 7:41
Speaker 6: better days. I drive by yesterday brand new nets, and
• 7:47
Speaker 6: I just get got to give props to Dax Miller
• 7:51
Speaker 6: and the city of Charleston. And Amy has always been good,
• 7:54
Speaker 6: good to this tournament.
• 7:57
  Speaker 2: Uh.
• 7:57
Speaker 6: She gives me the center, the whole place from Thursday
• 8:00
Speaker 6: to Sunday. She gives me cash, she gives me your staff.
• 8:04
  Speaker 6: I mean, it's just it's a very good partnership. But
• 8:07
Speaker 6: then I have a windfall this year which allows me
• 8:10
Speaker 6: to pay seventy two hundred dollars in cash.
• 8:12
  Speaker 3: Last year I.
• 8:13
Speaker 6: Had like twenty five hundred, and Governor Justice gave me
• 8:19
Speaker 6: a grant right right there at the end. Yeah, he
• 8:23
Speaker 6: gave me ten thousand dollars grand. So that's where all
• 8:25
Speaker 6: the cash is covered.
• 8:26
Speaker 4: Okay, well that's good stuff. Now explain explain the whole
• 8:30
Speaker 4: concept of this troup because you said, as how many
• 8:31
Speaker 4: years you've been doing this?
• 8:32
Speaker 6: But you say six years?
• 8:33
  Speaker 3: Six years?
• 8:33
Speaker 6: Okay, So this was this was starty Mindy White at
• 8:37
Speaker 6: CTC thought it'd be a good idea to have a
• 8:40
Speaker 6: fall thing with WVU, Marshall and some other some other
• 8:44
Speaker 6: tennis teams. So in two nineteen there were like six
• 8:48
Speaker 6: six teams Marshall, WVU and four other teams.
• 8:52
  Speaker 3: I don't remember the names.
• 8:54
Speaker 6: So then I thought, well, let's make this an event,
• 8:57
Speaker 6: because nobody knew about it, like I just stumbled on
• 9:00
Speaker 6: to it, like you know, I was going down there
• 9:01
Speaker 6: to play one day, I was like, why are these
• 9:03
  Speaker 6: people here?
• 9:05
Speaker 3: So we kind of started making an event. You know,
• 9:07
  Speaker 3: it's we have a stage.
• 9:08
Speaker 6: We played music, and then we kept with that format
• 9:12
Speaker 6: until last year and the coaches W Marshall, who are
• 9:15
Speaker 6: the you know, the pillars of the tournament, said, you know,
• 9:18
Speaker 6: we just we need to get some good singles play
• 9:20
Speaker 6: in for our players. I said, well, let's let's go singles.
• 9:24
Speaker 6: Let's just make it a singles wide open everybody, anybody.
• 9:28
Speaker 6: And then I was able to get some cash. So
• 9:30
Speaker 6: you know, with the nil you can pay them cash
• 9:32
Speaker 6: now except high school, right, yeah, you can't pay high schoolirls.
• 9:37
Speaker 6: So then I raised the money and now this year
• 9:39
Speaker 6: I have seventy two dollars to do it, and I
• 9:42
Speaker 6: hope to keep raising more money that of course, the
• 9:45
Speaker 6: more money you raise, the more players you get, the
• 9:48
Speaker 6: higher caliber you get. But I'm doing something else this year.
• 9:53
Speaker 6: Jimmy John's, Subway, Pepperoni Grill, Chick fil A. I've always
• 9:58
Speaker 6: reached out to them and said, hey, can you provide
• 10:00
Speaker 6: lunch this year because I got this really good windfall.
• 10:04
Speaker 3: I'm buying from them.
• 10:06
Speaker 6: Well, you know, every it's like every four years, take
• 10:09
Speaker 6: care of your sponsors, pay them, pay them.
• 10:10
Speaker 3: So I'm doing that, and you know it feels good.
• 10:13
Speaker 6: You're like, hey, I'm not asking you, I'm giving you.
• 10:16
  Speaker 7: Yeah.
• 10:16
Speaker 6: Yeah, And I'm still and there. Their sponsors will still
• 10:19
Speaker 6: be on, you know, on the on the courts. You know,
• 10:22
Speaker 6: they're still good. I've got to go do that today.
• 10:24
Speaker 6: But yeah, and but the only thing I want to
• 10:27
Speaker 6: get out there is we have some the players will
• 10:31
Speaker 6: know tennis players will know what I'm talking about. We
• 10:33
Speaker 6: have some four or five players here in Charleston, and
• 10:36
Speaker 6: I would and they would, they would compete well, and
• 10:39
Speaker 6: I wish they would sign up. We have some we
• 10:41
Speaker 6: have about six or seven on an actually four or
• 10:44
  Speaker 6: five U s T A team that I would love
• 10:46
Speaker 6: to see sign up. And I'd love to see more
• 10:48
Speaker 6: high school players get in it. Because when I lost Meredith. Uh,
• 10:51
Speaker 6: Crystal is the only high school player I have now.
• 10:54
Speaker 6: Julie Orcott would have played, but she's visiting her sister
• 10:57
Speaker 6: at wake Forest this week, so I know Julia would
• 11:00
Speaker 6: have She would have loved have taken them on. She
• 11:02
Speaker 6: she'll take on anybody.
• 11:03
Speaker 4: But all right, So so the call is on? And when?
• 11:07
Speaker 6: Oh it's uh Friday, It's Friday, Friday, Friday morning, Saturday,
• 11:11
Speaker 6: all day it's at the tennis courts at showing bomb
• 11:14
  Speaker 6: over Keno City.
• 11:15
Speaker 4: Okay, so what is the deadline? Because you said you listen,
• 11:18
Speaker 4: listen twenty minutes a half.
• 11:20
Speaker 6: Really, if you if you're a high score four or
• 11:22
Speaker 6: five player out here and you want to in late,
• 11:24
Speaker 6: you know, get a hold of me on Thursday. But really,
• 11:29
  Speaker 6: I don't know what the I don't we're using the
• 11:31
Speaker 6: UTR website. I don't even know what our deadline is.
• 11:34
Speaker 4: But you know, yeah, I'll turn them away.
• 11:37
Speaker 6: I mean, I'll get you in if you want to play,
• 11:39
Speaker 6: and I want some high school There's two great players
• 11:42
Speaker 6: at Huntington and I'm looking I'm looking at what last
• 11:46
Speaker 6: year's quarter and semi finals in the state tournament, and
• 11:50
Speaker 6: I'm seeing all these names. I'm not going to name
• 11:55
Speaker 6: them out once from Shady Springs, Trinity, Lincoln Wood Wood County,
• 12:00
Speaker 6: Christian Chapmanville Logan Senior H. Logan has always had Austin
• 12:07
  Speaker 6: Cathleic Williamson.
• 12:08
Speaker 4: Logan has always had a good tennis program. My buddy
• 12:11
Speaker 4: Justin Turner was the coach down there for years. He
• 12:13
Speaker 4: actually played collegiately at UC and he was, he was,
• 12:16
  Speaker 4: He's a coach.
• 12:17
Speaker 6: Down Huntington High University High Huntington High, Washington, Washington High School.
• 12:23
Speaker 3: That must be g W Well, there is no there
• 12:26
  Speaker 3: is a Washington.
• 12:28
  Speaker 4: Pandle.
• 12:29
Speaker 6: That's uh Julia, Uh Hurricane g W Wheeling Park. That's Bradshaw.
• 12:39
Speaker 6: That's Madeline Bradshaw. She came in second last year.
• 12:43
  Speaker 8: Uh.
• 12:43
Speaker 6: And I think the winner went graduated.
• 12:45
Speaker 4: And the thing about it is, even if you don't
• 12:47
Speaker 4: play tennis, you just like to watch it. I mean,
• 12:48
Speaker 4: I love because you're not going to You're not going
• 12:51
Speaker 4: to see this quality you play. You only see this
• 12:53
Speaker 4: quality of players once a year. And that's that. And
• 12:56
  Speaker 4: that's this thing.
• 12:56
Speaker 6: This is it, I mean, this is it. And as
• 12:58
Speaker 6: you know, I'm a huge tennis fan.
• 13:00
  Speaker 3: You follow me.
• 13:01
Speaker 6: I go to tournaments around the country around the world.
• 13:04
  Speaker 6: And I'm a huge women's tennis fan. I just love
• 13:07
Speaker 6: the game. Love love, love, love love, or I wouldn't
• 13:09
Speaker 6: be doing this. So yeah, I appreciate all the props,
• 13:13
Speaker 6: appreciate Where can people find it. It's it's on the

• 17:30
Speaker 11: Chris happy, happy bladed birthday, and uh, happy birthday to you.
• 17:34
Speaker 4: Well, thank you appreciate that, all right? So who is
• 17:36
Speaker 4: who is Phil Surface?
• 17:37
Speaker 11: Well, I'm an orthopedic surgeon practice at w Health Thomas.
• 17:44
Speaker 11: Most of my work is at the Orthopedic Hospital at
• 17:46
Speaker 11: Saint Francis. I have an office in Winfield. I was
• 17:50
Speaker 11: born in Princeton. I grew up in Princeton, graduated from
• 17:53
Speaker 11: Princeton High School, and went the Concord and went to
• 17:57
Speaker 11: the Ousti Pathic School in Louisbourg, and then off to
• 18:00
Speaker 11: Oklahoma State to become an orth peak surgeon and then
• 18:03
Speaker 11: move back to West Virginia. And I've been practicing here
• 18:06
Speaker 11: ever since since ninety nine.
• 18:09
Speaker 4: And you're a Republican running out of district for talk
• 18:12
  Speaker 4: about the district.
• 18:13
Speaker 11: Well, the district includes the southern part of Putnam County
• 18:17
Speaker 11: south of the River and including Jackson County and Mason County.
• 18:23
  Speaker 11: It's a it's a district that encompasses a lot of
• 18:28
Speaker 11: rural small towns, but we've got Winfield and Hurricane in
• 18:32
  Speaker 11: the district, and it's it's a pretty broad district. A
• 18:38
Speaker 11: lot of a lot of issues I think are common
• 18:41
Speaker 11: though between the more rural areas.
• 18:43
Speaker 4: And they what are some of those issues.
• 18:45
Speaker 11: Well, I think the biggest issue to me is infrastructure,
• 18:49
Speaker 11: the roads in particular, job creation, healthcare access, those sorts
• 18:56
Speaker 11: of things I think are common issues throughout the throughout
• 18:59
Speaker 11: the distric. I think the roads in particular are disappointing
• 19:03
Speaker 11: to me because they have to drive on them every day.
• 19:07
Speaker 4: So with all these things though that you talked about,
• 19:10
Speaker 4: your medical background, so on and so forth, why would
• 19:12
Speaker 4: you want to run for Senate?
• 19:14
Speaker 11: Well, the reason why I'm running is I think that
• 19:16
Speaker 11: the Senate has sort of lost their way over the
• 19:19
Speaker 11: past couple of sessions. In particular, I think they've taken
• 19:24
Speaker 11: their eye off the ball. I think that the important
• 19:27
Speaker 11: issues have been neglected, and those are the ones that
• 19:30
  Speaker 11: I mentioned a minute ago. I think they've spent more
• 19:33
Speaker 11: time arguing about things that are less important to the
• 19:37
Speaker 11: people in my district. I think they've lost their focus
• 19:41
Speaker 11: on what really matters, and I think the things that
• 19:43
Speaker 11: matter particularly to the people in the district are infrastructure,
• 19:48
Speaker 11: economic development, jobs, retention of our young people, access to healthcare.
• 19:55
Speaker 11: Several health care issues are important to them, and I
• 19:58
Speaker 11: think they've spent an inordinate amount of time focusing on
• 20:04
Speaker 11: and quite frankly, arguing continuously about social issues that that
• 20:10
Speaker 11: I understand, and I understand those those issues are important
• 20:14
Speaker 11: as well, but I think that they should be lower
• 20:16
Speaker 11: on the priority and and that's why I'm running talking
• 20:19
Speaker 11: to doctor Phillip Service again, who is the republic is
• 20:23
Speaker 11: one of the candidates for District four State Senate. The
• 20:27

• 20:46
Speaker 11: Community Technical College. Your career starts here, so what's your
• 20:50
Speaker 11: campaign style going to be? Like, I know it's a
• 20:51
Speaker 11: little bit early right now, you're going to go door
• 20:53
Speaker 11: to door You're doing. What's the campaign style? Well, I
• 20:56
Speaker 11: am going to do some door to door work, and uh,
• 21:00
Speaker 11: I'd like to go to uh several of the events
• 21:05
Speaker 11: throughout the district and and get to meet people and
• 21:08
Speaker 11: and know them. I think, Uh, it's important to me
• 21:12
Speaker 11: to be hands on, if you will. I think one
• 21:15
Speaker 11: of the one of the disappointments UH.
• 21:19
  Speaker 3: Has been that.
• 21:21
Speaker 11: In the legislature and the Senate in West Virginia, I
• 21:24
Speaker 11: think that they haven't been as responsive to the public
• 21:28
Speaker 11: and their needs and and and the issues that are
• 21:31
Speaker 11: important to them. So I'd like to get out and
• 21:32
Speaker 11: talk to a lot of people. I appreciate doing shows
• 21:36
Speaker 11: like this where I can get get the message out,
• 21:39
Speaker 11: but I'm going to do a good bit of door
• 21:41
  Speaker 11: to door work.
• 21:42
Speaker 4: Yes, if there uh, And I know that generally speaking,
• 21:45
Speaker 4: there are some like meet the candidate type for them.
• 21:48
Speaker 4: You all up for that or a debate or something
• 21:50
  Speaker 4: like that.
• 21:51
Speaker 11: Yeah, I'd be up for that.
• 21:52
Speaker 4: So counting yourself uh. In the current holder of the sea,
• 21:56
Speaker 4: which is Senator Eric tar Uh, there are elites. There's
• 22:00
Speaker 4: another person running as of now and still kind of
• 22:02
Speaker 4: it's so relatively early, you know. But so why all
• 22:05
Speaker 4: the interests in the sea, Because here's and I brought
• 22:07
Speaker 4: this up because there was a time that before the
• 22:10
Speaker 4: Republican takeover that we were hard pressed, even in an
• 22:14
Speaker 4: area you're based in Putnam County, we were hard pressed
• 22:18
Speaker 4: to be able to get Republicans. Right now everybody is.
• 22:21
Speaker 11: Running right well, I think, you know, I think the
• 22:25
Speaker 11: interest is there because of things like I've been to
• 22:30
Speaker 11: Haiti for five mission trips, and when I drive four
• 22:36
Speaker 11: or five miles in any direction from my house, and
• 22:38
Speaker 11: I live right in Winfield, and I can go in
• 22:41
Speaker 11: any direction and four or five miles down the road,
• 22:44
Speaker 11: the roads are similar to what I drove on when
• 22:47
Speaker 11: I was in Haiti. I know that sounds that sounds wild,
• 22:50
Speaker 11: but it's the truth. And so I think people have
• 22:55
Speaker 11: There's been a bunch of interests that have has been
• 22:57
Speaker 11: driven by the fact that our representatives and our senators
• 23:03
Speaker 11: has not concentrated on the things that are important to
• 23:07
Speaker 11: the people in the district. And I think that that
• 23:09
Speaker 11: is what's drawing the interest in. It's certainly what has
• 23:11
Speaker 11: drawn mine and I think that those sorts of issues
• 23:16
Speaker 11: and the job creation and economic development, healthcare, all of
• 23:21
Speaker 11: those things. I think people are noticing that those are
• 23:26
Speaker 11: lower on the list of priorities than they should be.
• 23:30
Speaker 11: And I think that there's several people that are interested
• 23:33
Speaker 11: in running because of those things, and that's certainly what
• 23:36
Speaker 11: drove me into the race. I believe that that we
• 23:39
Speaker 11: need to focus on those things that matter, and those
• 23:44
Speaker 11: issues are important to people, and I think the people
• 23:48
Speaker 11: in the district know that, and I think that's what's
• 23:51
  Speaker 11: driving the interest.
• 23:52
Speaker 4: You have a website or Facebook or anything.
• 23:54
Speaker 11: Yes, sir, it's Phillip's surface for Senate is the website,
• 23:59
Speaker 11: and there's links there to Twitter and Facebook. We have
• 24:02
Speaker 11: Facebook account, and I would love for people to go there.
• 24:06
Speaker 11: Gives pretty good information my background, a little bit about
• 24:09
Speaker 11: me and the issues that are important to me, and
• 24:12
Speaker 11: I'd love to see people go to that website and
• 24:15
Speaker 11: learn more, contact me, reach out to me. There's an
• 24:18
Speaker 11: email there. I'd like to hear from the people in
• 24:20
Speaker 11: the district and the things that are important to them
• 24:22
Speaker 11: and like the opportunity to be their senator.
• 24:26
Speaker 4: I mean the final thirty seconds here, Phil, watch this Mooddy,
• 24:29
Speaker 4: vote for you for state Center.
• 24:31
Speaker 11: Well, I think people should vote for me because I
• 24:34
Speaker 11: have a long history in this area of taking care
• 24:38
Speaker 11: of a lot of people. I've interacted with people and
• 24:41
Speaker 11: have been able to show compassion and care for the
• 24:45
Speaker 11: issues that matter to them. When I'm in your green
• 24:48
Speaker 11: room this morning, I ran in just in a matter
• 24:50
Speaker 11: of ten minutes, ran into three people that are patients
• 24:52
Speaker 11: of mind, that have been patient's mind in the past.
• 24:55
Speaker 11: And I think that I have a long history of
• 25:00
Speaker 11: of caring for people and showing an interest in their
• 25:03
Speaker 11: needs and trying to be someone that they can rely on.
• 25:06
  Speaker 11: I think I'm dependable. I think I've been in the
• 25:10
Speaker 11: state for a long time. I've committed to this state
• 25:13
Speaker 11: and I think the issues that we mentioned earlier are
• 25:18
Speaker 11: things that I can address. I think I have good
• 25:20
Speaker 11: ideas and how we could improve our infrastructure. I think
• 25:26
Speaker 11: roads in particular. I have some good ideas that need
• 25:29
Speaker 11: to be implemented. And I believe that I would be
• 25:32
Speaker 11: a good senator and I could represent the people in
• 25:34
Speaker 11: the district. And I think that's why they ought to
• 25:36
  Speaker 11: vote for me.
• 25:37
Speaker 4: All Right, Well, what's to the best of Like? All right,
• 25:39

• 28:07
Speaker 4: there is another gentleman who was on the show a

Speaker 4: barbecue sandwich is that's that's my favorite.
• 29:39
  Speaker 3: That's what.
• 29:40
  Speaker 4: Yeah, it's all good, but that's I was. I was
• 29:43
Speaker 4: a big fan of that. And the soup was when
• 29:45
Speaker 4: you we didn't have every day, but you had the
• 29:46
Speaker 4: soup and it was pretty good.
• 29:47
Speaker 3: Something I'm gonna do this soup like it's colder, yeah,
• 29:51
Speaker 3: to do the soup. Yeah.
• 29:52
Speaker 4: And chili yeah, yeah, yeah, I completely forgot about your chili.
• 29:56
Speaker 4: And somebody brought it up to me the other day.
• 29:57
Speaker 4: Down was that something you had every day?
• 29:59
Speaker 3: Was the chili? Or did you know? I mean I
• 30:01
Speaker 3: have chili every day, but.
• 30:03
  Speaker 4: Okay, I didn't, I wouldn't. Yeah, I always thought you're chili,
• 30:06
  Speaker 4: you know?
• 30:07
  Speaker 2: Was?
• 30:07
Speaker 3: I like? It was really good? That's very good.
• 30:09
Speaker 4: It's good stuff. So what's the latest on the book?
• 30:13
Speaker 4: You and Joe Manchin?
• 30:15
Speaker 3: You know, he was on. I watched him the other
• 30:19
Speaker 3: night on on Bill Maher Bill Maher, and.
• 30:25
  Speaker 4: I haven't seen it yet. I recorded it, but I
• 30:26
Speaker 4: haven't seen it yet. I'll probably watch it tonight.
• 30:29
Speaker 3: He says it was hard to write the book, no
• 30:32
Speaker 3: to to do the show.
• 30:34
Speaker 4: Okay, see, now, somebody told me a good friend of
• 30:36
Speaker 4: mine told me that he didn't think that Joe did
• 30:39
Speaker 4: that good of a job on the Bill mart And
• 30:41
Speaker 4: I don't know what he based it on because I
• 30:42
Speaker 4: haven't seen it, but he he said he just didn't.
• 30:45
Speaker 4: He said he didn't, he didn't do that well on
• 30:47
  Speaker 4: the show. But I don't. I haven't seen it yet.
• 30:49
Speaker 3: So well he did, Okay, I mean Bill's not Bill's
• 30:56
Speaker 3: not I mean Joe, Joe's not Blue Okay, Yeah, I
• 31:01
Speaker 3: mean I'm blue. Yeah, you know, yes, I'm blue. He's
• 31:06
  Speaker 3: not blue.
• 31:06
Speaker 4: And for those that are wondering what blue means, that
• 31:09
Speaker 4: was a term that they used to vulgar. Yeah, I
• 31:14
Speaker 4: was going to say adult.
• 31:15
Speaker 3: I wasn't gonna say yeah, I mean that could be.
• 31:19
Speaker 3: I mean Bill Maher is definitely blue. Yes, yes, yes,
• 31:24
Speaker 3: he is definitely vulgar. And and Joe's just not that way, right,
• 31:32
Speaker 3: Everybody's different. And I thought he did fine.
• 31:35
Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll have to go back and the while. Probably
• 31:37
Speaker 4: I'll try to watch that tonight. So have you seen
• 31:41
Speaker 4: any of their Have you read any of Joe's book?
• 31:43
Speaker 4: I thought you might have like an advance I have.
• 31:47
  Speaker 13: I have.
• 31:49
Speaker 3: The copy on audio. Okay. I listened to books. I
• 31:53
Speaker 3: don't read them. I listened to them.
• 31:56
Speaker 4: And you're going to do on your book, you are
• 31:58
Speaker 4: going to do an audio version.
• 32:00
Speaker 3: I don't know. It depends on Charlie, okay, And it
• 32:04
Speaker 3: depends on other people. I'd like to do other people
• 32:10
Speaker 3: see if other people will participate, Like if Charlie or participate.
• 32:15
  Speaker 3: I know I'll participate, but there's a lot of people
• 32:19
Speaker 3: that would have to participate because there's a lot of
• 32:22
Speaker 3: different voices. Yeah, and I mean, I know readA can't participate.
• 32:28
Speaker 4: But what's the latest on the date? On the release date?
• 32:32
Speaker 3: Probably towards towards the end of October.
• 32:42
Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what you were telling me last week. I
• 32:43
Speaker 4: didn't know if it had changed.
• 32:45
  Speaker 3: No, I don't think it's changed. I think it's around
• 32:48
Speaker 3: the end of October.
• 32:49
Speaker 4: So what is going to be when people get a
• 32:53
Speaker 4: copy of your book? What's going to be the one
• 32:56
Speaker 4: thing that's going to stick out or maybe surprise them
• 32:59
Speaker 4: that they're not expected.
• 33:03
Speaker 3: My relationship with my mother.
• 33:06
Speaker 4: See I'm I know because you've told me the relationship
• 33:08
Speaker 4: with the animal. It was very complex. That's a good
• 33:12
Speaker 4: way to put it. Tense, tense, very strained.
• 33:17
Speaker 3: Competitive, Okay, a competitive. I don't know how quite to
• 33:27
  Speaker 3: say that.
• 33:28
Speaker 4: How much time do you spend talking about your mom.
• 33:30
Speaker 3: In the book? Off and on? Okay, off and on.
• 33:34
Speaker 4: I mean, obviously your parents, you know, are a very
• 33:37
Speaker 4: important part of what they should be have been important
• 33:39
Speaker 4: part of everybody's life in a good way and sometimes
• 33:42
Speaker 4: in a not so good way.
• 33:44
Speaker 3: My mother was a hell fellow, well met. She was
• 33:51
Speaker 3: a person that people liked. I mean, she she'd walk
• 34:00
Speaker 3: she'd walked through Frankenberger's and uh, you know where Frankenburger was,
• 34:05
  Speaker 3: and uh.
• 34:06
Speaker 4: We're in the old Frankenburger mansion.
• 34:08
Speaker 3: Here and she she say alo to everybody, and everybody
• 34:12
Speaker 3: say ala to her. And I think I got that
• 34:17
  Speaker 3: from her.
• 34:18
Speaker 4: Right, people person. She's a real people person.
• 34:20
Speaker 3: Yeah, she would uh, how you doing? How you doing?
• 34:23
Speaker 3: How you do? And everybody say al load to her?
• 34:26
Speaker 4: But without giving away too much. And I don't want
• 34:28
Speaker 4: to turn this into a therapy session, okay, Uh, but
• 34:31
Speaker 4: but how how different was the woman who was your
• 34:36
Speaker 4: mother in public as opposed to private?
• 34:40
  Speaker 3: Pretty different?
• 34:41
Speaker 4: Yeah, I have, I kind of had. I kind of
• 34:43
Speaker 4: see I've always said this, people that do people that
• 34:46
Speaker 4: are people, People that are people people, And I'm I'm
• 34:49
  Speaker 4: a I'm a people person. Although the older I get,
• 34:51
Speaker 4: the less of people person I am. But but I
• 34:54
Speaker 4: will say, we don't normally come from quote unquote perfect backgrounds,
• 35:02
Speaker 4: you know. I mean. I had a very difficult relationship
• 35:05
Speaker 4: with my mother, who passed a few years ago, had
• 35:08
Speaker 4: a strained even though I respected him a lot. Had
• 35:10
Speaker 4: a strained relationship with my father too. My parents were
• 35:13
Speaker 4: divorced when I was five. But I had a very
• 35:16
Speaker 4: difficult relationship with my mother as well. And I think
• 35:18
Speaker 4: it shapes who you are, and it can shape you
• 35:22
  Speaker 4: in a good way a bad way. It's a little
• 35:24
  Speaker 4: bit of both.
• 35:26
Speaker 3: It was it was we would get in the car
• 35:34
Speaker 3: and I would get in the car and I would
• 35:38
Speaker 3: turn on Papa Jay, Papa J. J Jerrol, Yeah, J Jerrol,
• 35:45
  Speaker 3: and she would flip over to W T I P.
• 35:50
Speaker 3: Which was which was a beautiful music. She says, it's
• 35:54
Speaker 3: my car. I paid for it with my money, and
• 35:58
Speaker 3: We're going to listen to radio station. And then I
• 36:00
Speaker 3: want to listen to.
• 36:01
Speaker 4: And that's not entirely wrong, is it? Maybe it is? Maybe,
• 36:11
Speaker 4: maybe it is all.
• 36:13
Speaker 3: Right, we're looking forward to It became very competitive.
• 36:16
Speaker 4: I got you, I got you, I got you, and
• 36:18
  Speaker 4: she's obviously she's she's passed now.
• 36:21
Speaker 3: She passed twenty five years ago.
• 36:25
Speaker 4: Did your relationship toward the end of her life get
• 36:27
  Speaker 4: any better?
• 36:29
Speaker 3: Well, I'll tell you a story. She wanted me to
• 36:35
Speaker 3: buy this house up on Norwood Road, and we had
• 36:41
Speaker 3: mellowed out and she wanted to get to know her
• 36:46
Speaker 3: grandson and that didn't go over too well because her
• 36:52
Speaker 3: grandson was was not legitimate. If you get the drift
• 37:00
Speaker 3: and she had to get used to that. And so
• 37:06
Speaker 3: she she walked into the house and she wanted this change,
• 37:15
Speaker 3: this change, this change, that carpet change. And she walked
• 37:21
Speaker 3: into the to the living room and she said, I
• 37:26
Speaker 3: want rid of that g D fan. It was a
• 37:32
Speaker 3: a Sears fan with little drop lights, you know what
• 37:38
  Speaker 3: I'm talking about.
• 37:39
  Speaker 2: Fan.
• 37:40
Speaker 3: And I waited and went over and told her, we're
• 37:48
Speaker 3: not going to get rid of the fan.
• 37:50
Speaker 4: I mean your house, right, I mean you paid for it, yeah,
• 37:53
Speaker 4: I mean you're an adult at this point obviously, Yeah.
• 37:56
Speaker 3: And I paid for it, right, And I pad for
• 38:00
Speaker 3: my money. I mean my father had had died and
• 38:05
Speaker 3: left me one hundred and twelve thousand dollars and I
• 38:07
Speaker 3: paid for my own money. So I paid for the
• 38:11
Speaker 3: house of the moon money. So I said, I'm going
• 38:14
Speaker 3: to pay for the house and I'm going to keep
• 38:17
Speaker 3: the fan. And for the rest of her life. She
• 38:22
Speaker 3: looked into the window and look in that window right
• 38:27
Speaker 3: out of that Lincoln and to see if that fan
• 38:31
  Speaker 3: was still there.
• 38:33
Speaker 4: Again, not to turn this into a therapy session, the
• 38:35
Speaker 4: fan meant a whole lot more than just a fan. Yeah,
• 38:38
Speaker 4: I mean it was very symbolic.
• 38:40
Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a fan. She kept looking at.
• 38:42
Speaker 4: Y, but it wasn't about the fan.
• 38:44
Speaker 3: Yeah, she wanted she wanted that fan out.
• 38:46
Speaker 4: She wanted the control was what she wanted was. It
• 38:48
Speaker 4: wasn't about the fan. It could have been anything.
• 38:52
Speaker 3: It could have been anything.
• 38:54
Speaker 4: Talking to uh, Danny Jones, But Dave Allen showing five
• 38:57
Speaker 4: eighty Live is brought to you part by Pinnacle Consultants.
• 38:59

• 39:03
Speaker 4: respiratory problems more. Pinnacle offer specialized indoor air quality services residential, commercial,
• 39:08
Speaker 4: and industrial type settings. Visit Pinnacle court dot net because
• 39:10
Speaker 4: what you don't know can hurt you. All Right. So,
• 39:13
Speaker 4: since we last spoke, mister Jones, the whole Charlie Kirk thing,
• 39:18
Speaker 4: I mean, you were on the show last week, the
• 39:20
Speaker 4: services were held. There was the vigilin Morgantown, there were
• 39:24
Speaker 4: several thousand that came to the one in Charleston. The
• 39:27
Speaker 4: big service, of course, was yesterday out in Arizona. And
• 39:33
Speaker 4: one thing I wanted to get your take on you
• 39:35
Speaker 4: being a media guy is the fact that the whole
• 39:38
Speaker 4: Jimmy Kimmel situation, I mean Kimmel suspended slash fired, whatever
• 39:43
Speaker 4: you want to call it. And I had Burke Allen
• 39:46
Speaker 4: on the show last week, who was you know, does
• 39:49
Speaker 4: so many things, but he's you know, very very well
• 39:52
Speaker 4: versed in the world of entertainment, and that Jimmy Kimmel's
• 39:55
Speaker 4: story is not simple. There are literally about five or
• 39:58
Speaker 4: six different well layers to that story. Because on one hand,
• 40:02
  Speaker 4: Danny and I said this last week, it's ABC's a
• 40:05
Speaker 4: private company. They can they can hire and fire whoever
• 40:07
Speaker 4: they want. However, when you have somebody in the Federal
• 40:11
Speaker 4: Communications Commission that issues statements and Trump says, we're coming
• 40:14
Speaker 4: after you know, Seth Meyers next, We're coming after Jimmy
• 40:18
  Speaker 4: Fallon next, That's where I have I don't have a
• 40:21
Speaker 4: problem with I don't have a problem with ABC firing him.
• 40:24
Speaker 4: I mean, it's their company, but but I do have
• 40:26
Speaker 4: a problem when the governmental officials get involved.
• 40:28
Speaker 3: Now he doesn't I agree with Ted Cruse. Yeah.
• 40:30
Speaker 4: Ted Cruz nailed it, And I thought it was pretty
• 40:33
Speaker 4: brave of Ted Cruse because most people don't stand up
• 40:36
  Speaker 4: to Donald Trump.
• 40:37
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 40:38
Speaker 4: He he very strongly disagrees with the President on this,
• 40:41
Speaker 4: and of all people, Ted Cruz.
• 40:43
Speaker 3: Yeah, and this, I can't think of the the station
• 40:51
Speaker 3: over here. They're owned by our channel eight. Who are they?
• 40:56
Speaker 4: Sinclair? Sinclair owns one and.
• 40:58
Speaker 3: Claire the Conservative. Yeah, and so is Next Star. Next
• 41:03
Speaker 3: Star they own thirteen in Charleston. Yeah. And so they
• 41:09
Speaker 3: get to decide who, who what goes on their station, right, Yeah,
• 41:18
Speaker 3: and that and that might mean Jimmy Cammel, it might
• 41:22
  Speaker 3: mean whoever.
• 41:24
Speaker 4: Well, but I have a little I have an issue
• 41:27
Speaker 4: with people say, well, you know, this is the censorship.
• 41:30
Speaker 4: It's like not want a ABC. I mean, the owners
• 41:32
Speaker 4: of this company could come in at any time and
• 41:34
Speaker 4: say out, you know to me. Uh. And it's not
• 41:38
  Speaker 4: that's not censorship. That's a private company. But nobody, nobody's
• 41:41
Speaker 4: really leaned on them. And there's got this you know,
• 41:43
Speaker 4: you got this deal that's going on with Sinclair and
• 41:46
Speaker 4: the Next Star and buying other stations and so on
• 41:48
Speaker 4: and so forth. And I mean, you know, the sec
• 41:50
Speaker 4: chair all but comes out and just says, we can
• 41:53
Speaker 4: do this the hard way or the easy way. Uh.
• 41:56
Speaker 4: And And I guess where I my thing is is
• 41:58
Speaker 4: that they talk about telling you know, one of the
• 42:02
Speaker 4: one of the things that they said was about telling lies. Well,
• 42:06
Speaker 4: Jimmy Kimmel's a comedian, you know. I mean, the whole
• 42:10
Speaker 4: basis of comedy is a lie because you're telling stories.
• 42:15
Speaker 4: Go back to when you're kidn there was knock knock joke.
• 42:17
Speaker 4: There's not actually somebody at your door, you know, it's
• 42:20
  Speaker 4: it's it's I mean, and that's and that's where I
• 42:23
Speaker 4: have an issue. I don't have a problem with ABC
• 42:24
Speaker 4: fire Nay. If that's what they want to do, more
• 42:26
Speaker 4: power to them. They're a private company. I do have
• 42:27
Speaker 4: a problem with the with the the giant hand of
• 42:31
Speaker 4: government being involved in That's that's.
• 42:33
  Speaker 3: Where I agree.
• 42:35
Speaker 4: I agree, and I mean it would be the same
• 42:38
Speaker 4: when when when you're mayor or mayor mayor Goodwin calling
• 42:42
Speaker 4: the owners of this company and saying, well, I don't
• 42:44
  Speaker 4: I don't like Dave Allen uh and he's saying that's
• 42:48
Speaker 4: there would be none of your or her business what
• 42:50
Speaker 4: this private company does, in my opinion, in my opinion,
• 42:52
Speaker 4: all right, so and and but I will say this,
• 42:55
Speaker 4: late night TV ratings are not what they used to be.
• 42:59
Speaker 4: I mean, they're the streaming numbers are good, you know.
• 43:02
Speaker 4: I mean, I got one of my co workers I
• 43:03
Speaker 4: shared an office with up there, she she loves it,
• 43:06
Speaker 4: but she she streams it, she didn't watch it, you know,
• 43:08
Speaker 4: live the and and and I think the difference though,
• 43:11
Speaker 4: And I talked about this last week, and you'll agree
• 43:13
  Speaker 4: with this.
• 43:13
  Speaker 2: Sea.
• 43:13
Speaker 4: I watched Johnny Carson now, I mean I will record, Yeah,
• 43:17
Speaker 4: I love I love Carson. Carson took out everybody. He
• 43:21
Speaker 4: didn't have an agenda. His agenda was to try to
• 43:23
Speaker 4: be funny. And right now, if Johnny Carson were on
• 43:26
Speaker 4: the air, he'd be going after Donald Trump, but he'd
• 43:28
Speaker 4: also be going after AOC. I mean he did. He
• 43:33
Speaker 4: did everybody, and that's what you should do, as in
• 43:37
  Speaker 4: my opinion.
• 43:38
Speaker 3: Right go after Bob Hope. He didn't like Bob Hope.
• 43:42
Speaker 4: I watched an episode over the weekend that it was
• 43:46
Speaker 4: one of the final because Carson hung it up in
• 43:49
Speaker 4: ninety two. This was like one of the final three
• 43:50
Speaker 4: or four shows. And on that show he had on
• 43:53
Speaker 4: Clint Eastwood, Bob Hope, and David Letterman, and Letterman is
• 43:56
Speaker 4: one of my idols. I mean, I love Letterman. And
• 43:59
Speaker 4: uh yeah, you're talking about a heavy, heavy hitting light.
• 44:02
Speaker 4: But you say he didn't like Bob.
• 44:04
Speaker 3: Hope because Bob Hope everything was heard.
• 44:07
Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, Bob. Bob was funny.
• 44:09
Speaker 3: But Bob was it.
• 44:11
Speaker 4: Was Yeah, it was very, very very stiff in history.
• 44:15
  Speaker 2: He was.
• 44:17
Speaker 4: And you know, I've talked about Carson before. Carson was
• 44:19
Speaker 4: not a good person. I've read a couple of books
• 44:21
Speaker 4: about Johnny Carson. He was very he was not a
• 44:24
  Speaker 4: good person.
• 44:24
Speaker 3: No, No, he wasn't. Yeah, and uh, Henry Henry Burnstein,
• 44:31
Speaker 3: Henry his manage. I know you're talking.
• 44:33
  Speaker 4: I read it.
• 44:33
Speaker 3: I've read his book and uh, you can go to
• 44:36
Speaker 3: Joan Rivers and she did a review of it and
• 44:39
Speaker 3: it's on. It's on. You can watch it on YouTube. Yeah,
• 44:44
  Speaker 3: and it's good.

Speaker 4: Charlie Kirk was a martyr for his faith in Jesus Christ.
• 47:30
Speaker 4: Nothing but evil which is in our world. Charlie was
• 47:32
Speaker 4: a hero that made a huge difference now and in
• 47:35
Speaker 4: the future, says a Texter, Texas Dave, I truly believe
• 47:39
Speaker 4: Erica Kirk said the one thing that evil members of
• 47:43
Speaker 4: the left never expect and could not possibly comprehend how
• 47:46
Speaker 4: she would state it, which is why instead of showing
• 47:48
Speaker 4: one tiny inkling of humanity and civility, they've chosen to
• 47:50
Speaker 4: double down on their nasty personal slander of her late husband.
• 47:54
Speaker 4: God is winning and it scares them to death. Tex says.
• 47:57
Speaker 4: Kimmel's erosion viewership follows a bumpy twenty for annual Nielsen
• 48:01
Speaker 4: ratings compiled by industry site Late Nighters. Should Kimmel average
• 48:04
Speaker 4: one point seventy seven million total viewers last year, down
• 48:08
Speaker 4: two point three percent from twenty twenty three. In the demo,
• 48:11
Speaker 4: Kimmel shed more than twelve percent, pulling two hundred twenty
• 48:14
Speaker 4: one thousand nightly viewers on average. That was an article
• 48:17
Speaker 4: from the New York Post. So let me get back
• 48:23
Speaker 4: to the book here for a moment. Yeah, you said
• 48:26
Speaker 4: something to me during the break that you wanted to
• 48:29
  Speaker 4: get out.
• 48:29
Speaker 3: Or people aren't going to get upset because they liked
• 48:33
Speaker 3: my mother and they're gonna get upset that I would
• 48:39
Speaker 3: take her on like this and they're gonna they're not
• 48:44
  Speaker 3: gonna like it.
• 48:46
Speaker 4: Why did you feel the need to have to do
• 48:48
Speaker 4: that in the book? I mean, you can't tell your story,
• 48:50
Speaker 4: you know without it. I get it because it makes
• 48:53
Speaker 4: you who you are, just like it does with everybody, because.
• 48:56
Speaker 3: It was what the truth?
• 48:57
Speaker 4: But why did you feel the need because it's the truth? Well,
• 49:00
Speaker 4: I understand that, but there's a lot of other things
• 49:02
Speaker 4: that you that you that you.
• 49:04
Speaker 3: Can't get around it. It's a truth. Can't get around it.
• 49:10
  Speaker 3: It's it's it's like the big oak tree. You can't
• 49:13
Speaker 3: get around it, can't get around it. It's a truth.
• 49:19
Speaker 4: How much of your relationship with your parents made you
• 49:22
Speaker 4: who you are? Because I mean, I'm a big believer,
• 49:24
Speaker 4: and it makes you who you are in a lot
• 49:26
Speaker 4: of ways. Good or bad. As I said earlier, how
• 49:28
Speaker 4: much your your relationship and the tense relationship that you
• 49:31
Speaker 4: had with your mother led you to do all these things. Well,
• 49:35
Speaker 4: i'm playing amateur psychologist here now.
• 49:37
Speaker 3: When I was fourteen, fifteen years old, pretty well independent. Yeah,
• 49:48
Speaker 3: I was at the I was at the Hub pool room,
• 49:52
Speaker 3: and that's just where I hung out. And that's where
• 49:56
Speaker 3: I went every day. Every night on the weekend, I
• 50:00
Speaker 3: went to the Hub and that's where I hung out.
• 50:05
Speaker 3: And that's where and then I went to work into Sterling,
• 50:12
Speaker 3: and then I went to work at the filling station.
• 50:16
Speaker 3: And it was there's some stuff in that book that's
• 50:22
Speaker 3: gonna that's gonna rouse some people.
• 50:27
Speaker 4: Well, it's it's the truth, as you said, the truth
• 50:30
Speaker 4: according to Danny. So so it's true.
• 50:33
Speaker 3: You gotta true truth. You gotta tell the truth, you
• 50:35
Speaker 3: gotta tell a little all.
• 50:37
Speaker 4: So all these different things, again, I'm playing amateur psychologist here.
• 50:42
Speaker 4: So all these different things that you've done, you know, legislator, sheriff,
• 50:46
Speaker 4: multiple term mayor, actor, restauranteur, all these things. Do you
• 50:52
Speaker 4: think that maybe you were in some way trying to
• 50:56
Speaker 4: trying to impress your mom by doing all this.
• 50:58
Speaker 3: Thing and that's the one thing. Harry MacLean, you know,
• 51:04
Speaker 3: the Skidmore guy, he's read the book. He said, you
• 51:09
Speaker 3: should have you should have put that out front as
• 51:14
Speaker 3: to how your your how this got you to be sheriff.
• 51:23
Speaker 3: He said, you didn't do that. He said, you didn't.
• 51:27
Speaker 3: You didn't make it to how it got you to
• 51:30
Speaker 3: be sheriff. In other words, do you see what I'm saying,
• 51:36
Speaker 3: and said, you should have made that more about how
• 51:38
Speaker 3: that got you to be sheriff and then mayor, but
• 51:41
Speaker 3: more sheriff, because sheriff was that was the first one,
• 51:48
Speaker 3: and that was the That was a Jim Dandy.
• 51:52
Speaker 4: Can't wait to I can't wait to do you spend
• 51:55
Speaker 4: more time in the book talking about your days of sheriff.
• 51:57
Speaker 3: Mayor mayor well probably mayor, probably sheriff. It was, I mean,
• 52:07
Speaker 3: I was a pretty wild when I was sheriff.
• 52:11
  Speaker 2: I was.
• 52:13
  Speaker 3: I mean, I kept my.
• 52:18
Speaker 4: We'll continue it next week, has that, Yeah, we'll do
• 52:21
Speaker 4: that quick. Tex says, those people did not grow up
• 52:23
Speaker 4: and live in your household, Danny. They have no right
• 52:25
Speaker 4: to criticize. It's a big part of our problems in
• 52:27
Speaker 4: this nation right now. People assuming instead of knowing so.
• 52:29
  Speaker 3: There you go.
• 52:30
Speaker 4: All right, Danny Jones, all right, we gotta go. Be
