- 0:29Good morning from the chicken. Ooh, so today I want to talk to
- 0:32you about how you describe yourself.
- 0:36It's an interesting exercise to go through and hadn't thought
- 0:39about doing this in a really long time.
- 0:41And recently, I was working on updating Social Media stuff and
- 0:45Linkedin and all that good stuff and I had to get into describing
- 0:50things and I was like, gosh, describing things is such a
- 0:54difficult thing for me because I don't like to write descriptions
- 0:58for myself and I thought well I can't be the only person It
- 1:00doesn't like doing this and then I started asking my friends and
- 1:04my clients about it. It's like, okay.
- 1:06And I thought this is an interesting exercise for all of
- 1:09us because what it teaches us is how far we are disconnected from
- 1:15how we describe ourselves. Like we know who we are in our
- 1:18head, and we know how we think about ourselves, but that's not
- 1:23always the things we want to say out loud, because God knows we
- 1:26don't always think the best things about ourselves.
- 1:28So when someone asks, It's you like your, who what do you do?
- 1:33Do you has attained and how you say it?
- 1:36Do you have your one liner? Do you have your, you know, that
- 1:40so-called elevator pitch? That's that three second four,
- 1:43second, elevator pitch to. And can you follow it up with
- 1:45like a 15? Second one?
- 1:47Where if they, decide to write up some extra floors with you,
- 1:50you can actually pitch them. What you do, what makes you
- 1:53different, and your company. And I thought, wow, I think that
- 1:58everybody has to have this for themselves because These are the
- 2:01ideals we want to live into these are the things that make
- 2:05us stand out. And most of us are terrible at
- 2:08this description. Most of us don't even have a way
- 2:11to to do this description. We just kind of go in this place
- 2:15of being, very uneasy about it. We're not sure what to say.
- 2:20And even if we are saying something, we're not necessarily
- 2:23saying what we really mean, we're kind of stuttering through
- 2:27it often and when we stutter through it and we're not, We
- 2:31don't feel fresh about it. We don't feel on point with it.
- 2:35We don't feel like it's fluid that puts a certain energy out
- 2:38and it puts us in a place of disempowerment.
- 2:42It doesn't put us at an advantage or in a power
- 2:45position. So, as an exercise today, I
- 2:49thought, okay, I'm going to work on this myself.
- 2:52This is one of my weekend the projects that I'm working on and
- 2:54I really want to make sure that it comes out great.
- 2:57So I'm looking to revamp this And just fine-tune what I
- 3:03already have but putting together some scripts for some
- 3:05videos stuff that we're working on, I thought.
- 3:08Okay, great. And then I've been a pass it
- 3:11along to you guys. So the exercise would be looking
- 3:13like this. If you had never met somebody
- 3:16before, and you were going to describe who you are, what you
- 3:19do, and you were writing an elevator pitch just for yourself
- 3:23your personality, what you do, how you do it.
- 3:26Whichever one you want to choose or all of the above, you sit
- 3:29down and you start scripting it out.
- 3:31And Saying, how do I, how do I want to influence Somebody by
- 3:34this? So if someone asks me you know
- 3:38what is it that you do? Do I just say, oh, I'm a coach
- 3:41or I'm a life coach? No, I don't.
- 3:43Because that sounds. Now when I first started out
- 3:46with it that sounded like nobody knew what the hell it was and so
- 3:49many years ago and then it became well everybody was doing
- 3:52it so it didn't sound like it was anything interesting.
- 3:55And I do feel that what I do is beyond that.
- 3:57So I started focusing on the fact that I'm a creative
- 4:01strategy. Adjust.
- 4:02And that I am a master mindset coach.
- 4:05So, and I can use the word Master because I have over
- 4:0840,000 hours in coaching. So in that, if someone says so,
- 4:14what is it that you do? When I meet them?
- 4:16I'm creative strategist and a master mindset.
- 4:18Coach really tell me like, what is it that you do?
- 4:21How do you do that in? Like, well, I basically tell
- 4:23people help people figure out how to get from where they are
- 4:27to where they want to be. So I thought I'd share that
- 4:30little line. With you because over the years
- 4:32that little line, I help people get from where they are to where
- 4:35they want to be, has really been one of the greatest sales lines
- 4:39that I've ever come up with because people go oh well, I
- 4:43need that because I'm stuck or God knows I need to have a
- 4:46conversation with you because I'm lost and I don't know where
- 4:49I'm going and it kind of came out by accident one day.
- 4:54While I was at a live event, talking to a client that was at
- 4:58our back table and I just blurted it out.
- 5:01I have no recollection of where it came from, I don't know.
- 5:04If I heard it repeated it made it up but it's always stuck with
- 5:08me ever since it came out of my mouth and I feel like it's very
- 5:11true, that's what I do. I help people figure out where
- 5:15they are and where they want to go and get them from that one
- 5:18spot to the other and I think having something like that in
- 5:22your own life, that feels good and empowering and gets a
- 5:26conversation going because that line always gets a conversation.
- 5:29Going is really important. Isn't so your homework today is
- 5:33that it's a very simple project but not easy.
- 5:38And if you work on it and work on it and practice it and get
- 5:43fluid with it, make sure it influences people when they hear
- 5:46it or they're intrigued by it, tell me more the outcome of all
- 5:49of it is to get to the point where someone says tell me more.
- 5:52I hope you guys have a very blessed day and I will see you
- 5:56all tomorrow and hopefully by the time you join back, you
- 5:58already have your one-liner. All right, I'll see you then.
- 6:01Have a blessed day. Bye.
