- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that Uh, Chuck Norris was chasing the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
- 0:05Speaker 2: The rex was not chasing the jeep. Murray, Murray, you there.
- 0:10Speaker 2: You love sandwiches. Huh, Let's go to uh eighty.
- 0:13Speaker 3: He was bo.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Wow that Prime Time. Maybe I had a crush on
- 0:18Speaker 2: Betty Rubbell.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I honestly, until after the segment ended and we went
- 0:22Speaker 1: to commercial break, had no idea that Jonathan Coachman was black.
- 0:25Speaker 2: He caught them the game last night, although they won
- 0:28Speaker 2: the game. You're listening just to Goatsen Company. Well, hello more.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Cockman and good morning to you. He slept over again.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I mean this guy, just leave me alone waking up
- 0:46Speaker 1: in your smiling face. Yes, first thing he does, grab
- 0:49Speaker 1: a cigarette? Yeah too. I want to get get into
- 0:57Speaker 1: Lebron James. Hawk has something interesting still on Lebron James.
- 1:01Speaker 1: But I am interested in Hawk here because we were
- 1:04Speaker 1: having this discussion on.
- 1:06Speaker 2: The air the other day.
- 1:08Speaker 1: What is the job that you had that you held
- 1:10Speaker 1: for the shortest period of time.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Taylor's job was at a hollister. He worked there.
- 1:16Speaker 1: He didn't like folding clothes, and then he realized on
- 1:19Speaker 1: his first day that there were people who were asking
- 1:22Speaker 1: for different sizes of different shirts, and all they were
- 1:25Speaker 1: doing was timing how long it would take for him
- 1:27Speaker 1: to go back to the room get the shirts and
- 1:31Speaker 1: then come back. And they were timing him so they
- 1:33Speaker 1: could rob the store at Taylor Quit on the day
- 1:37Speaker 1: that he started.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Yes, oh my god, that's a crazy revelation to have
- 1:42Speaker 4: in your head, like I'm part.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Of the part of a scheme to rob this store.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Yeah, it was like the ex presidents of so Hokings.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:52Speaker 5: Yeah, it was my second It was my second day there.
- 1:55Speaker 5: I already didn't like the job, and then when that happened,
- 1:58Speaker 5: they were so understaffed that I was the only person.
- 2:01Speaker 5: How Hollisters kind of divided like a men's side and
- 2:03Speaker 5: a women's side, I was the only person on the
- 2:06Speaker 5: men's side working. And after they did that and I
- 2:10Speaker 5: had to go through all like the police reports and everything,
- 2:12Speaker 5: I was like, you know what, I think I'd rather
- 2:15Speaker 5: work out of Pizzaia and I just got a job
- 2:17Speaker 5: delivering pizza.
- 2:17Speaker 4: Is here for whatever twelve bucks an hour or whatever
- 2:21Speaker 4: you're making.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Like, what's the point, By the way, this was, I
- 2:24Speaker 1: don't think this was. Think about it Thursday to counter
- 2:26Speaker 1: program your show on Tuesdays. We just talked about it Tuesday.
- 2:29Speaker 1: It's an odd thing that Taylor does. I think this
- 2:31Speaker 1: just came up.
- 2:32Speaker 3: I think it was a we we discussed this Wednesday.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, yes it was. We discussed this Wednesday. Well.
- 2:40Speaker 4: I had a job once. It was a summer job
- 2:44Speaker 4: at Hoggenda's. You know, I grew up in Highland Park, Illinois.
- 2:48Speaker 4: WHI to the suburbs of Chicago, you know, obviously with
- 2:51Speaker 4: your daughter going to Northwestern, it's very close to Evanston.
- 2:55Speaker 4: And I got a summer job at Hoggendas and I
- 3:00Speaker 4: did one shift because I didn't realize. I don't know
- 3:04Speaker 4: if you know this about me. I don't do much
- 3:06Speaker 4: manual labor. Scooping ice cream is manual labor. It's difficult. Hey,
- 3:13Speaker 4: this hoggandas shit. This is like hard packed ice cream,
- 3:16Speaker 4: Like you're working to get that out into the cup.
- 3:19Speaker 4: And you know, you got people that are paying big
- 3:21Speaker 4: dollars for a cup of Hoggandaws.
- 3:24Speaker 2: I'm sitting there like by the.
- 3:26Speaker 4: Fourth customer like this is because there's a music festival
- 3:33Speaker 4: in Highland Park called Ravinia Festival, which is like live
- 3:37Speaker 4: music or whatever. And I had been a dove bar
- 3:40Speaker 4: vendor for a couple summers before that, easy peasy. Someone
- 3:45Speaker 4: walks up, they want a dove bar. I go into
- 3:47Speaker 4: my little cooler. I give him a dove bar. There
- 3:50Speaker 4: is no scooping. So I'm taking my job, I think
- 3:53Speaker 4: to the next natural level. Now I'm working at an
- 3:55Speaker 4: actual hoggandas store. One shift, my arm hurt. I didn't
- 4:00Speaker 4: like the the demand of, you know, having to scoop
- 4:03Speaker 4: it yourself, and I never showed up again.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Right, you were wishing you had taken a job at Carvel.
- 4:07Speaker 2: I mean, so serve.
- 4:11Speaker 4: The fudgy, the whales already made, pre made.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Wait, so your wrist were sore, your your arm, your shoulder.
- 4:19Speaker 4: Wrist arm. I was uh, I was bordering on Tommy
- 4:22Speaker 4: John surgery. After that one uh, that one shift, I
- 4:25Speaker 4: was able to pitch myself back into shape.
- 4:27Speaker 2: But yeah, it was uh, it was dicey. Yeah. One shift,
- 4:32Speaker 2: that's it. That's all. One shift. That was it. I
- 4:34Speaker 2: couldn't do it, anything, couldn't do it. It was no good,
- 4:37Speaker 2: no good.
- 4:38Speaker 1: I'll teller, I'm surprised you lasted a second day like
- 4:40Speaker 1: he came back for more.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Like I think my mom made me.
- 4:47Speaker 1: H hak, I noticed you're wearing your Tua jersey there? Yeah? Uh?
- 4:50Speaker 1: And do you think too was going to have a
- 4:52Speaker 1: big year except he heard his back in Atlanta?
- 4:54Speaker 4: Yeah, I was practicing yesterday though he's back. He's one
- 4:57Speaker 4: of these guys, you know, if yah, if you have
- 4:59Speaker 4: a little bit of a tweak, you got to make
- 5:01Speaker 4: sure you put him on ice for a day so
- 5:03Speaker 4: it doesn't explode into anything.
- 5:04Speaker 2: But I bet a future.
- 5:05Speaker 4: I think I told you I bet a future for
- 5:07Speaker 4: him to be comeback Player of the Year in the NFL.
- 5:11Speaker 2: I like it. What were the odds on that? You know?
- 5:13Speaker 2: Do you think plus four thousand? Wow? Nice little flyer there. Huh.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Listen, Michael Panick's not gonna be healthy at the beginning
- 5:20Speaker 4: of the season, right, this is Toua's job. Yes, Tua
- 5:25Speaker 4: is not a bad quarterback. Now, let me take that back.
- 5:30Speaker 4: Tua was a bad quarterback last season.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Yeah he was. There's no two ways about it. He
- 5:36Speaker 2: was bad ways.
- 5:38Speaker 4: But there are weapons on that Atlanta team, and he
- 5:42Speaker 4: likes to get the ball out quickly, which would maybe
- 5:45Speaker 4: getting it to a tight end.
- 5:47Speaker 2: And who's the kid from Florida that's on that team?
- 5:50Speaker 1: Never been utilized Pitts, Kyle Pitts, Yeah, I got drink London.
- 5:54Speaker 1: You know they have good players, right, I just think
- 5:56Speaker 1: and then obviously be John Robinson, like you've got a
- 5:59Speaker 1: big threat in the running game, you know. Do I
- 6:02Speaker 1: think Tua is going to be as good as he
- 6:04Speaker 1: was in twenty twenty three for the Dolphins. No, that
- 6:08Speaker 1: was probably the pinnacle of his NFL career. But for
- 6:12Speaker 1: comeback Player of the Year, I don't know. I don't
- 6:14Speaker 1: know what the criteria is, but he was bad enough
- 6:18Speaker 1: to be benched for Quinn Yewers for three games at
- 6:21Speaker 1: the end of the Dolphins season. So in my mind,
- 6:25Speaker 1: this is a comeback if he wins the starting job,
- 6:27Speaker 1: even if it's because Pennix is injured. If he wins
- 6:30Speaker 1: the starting job and has a decent season in Atlanta,
- 6:33Speaker 1: I think he's in the mix for comeback Player of
- 6:35Speaker 1: the Year. I mean, he did lead the NFL in
- 6:37Speaker 1: passing yards one year, so it's.
- 6:39Speaker 2: A good I'm saying.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I'm complimenting the pick because I think it's a smart pick.
- 6:42Speaker 1: If I'm not certain if he's eligible, it'd beyond if
- 6:45Speaker 1: he puts that bad hit and he wasn't elegible.
- 6:48Speaker 2: No, he's eligible.
- 6:49Speaker 4: OK, A lot of times voters will look at someone
- 6:51Speaker 4: who was injured as comeback Player of the Year, and
- 6:55Speaker 4: he wasn't injured last season. No, he was just benched
- 6:58Speaker 4: because of performance. But I still think that he could
- 7:01Speaker 4: end up getting votes, especially if he has a you know,
- 7:04Speaker 4: a few spectacular games at the beginning and makes it
- 7:06Speaker 4: impossible for them to bring Pennix back in.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I'm trying to think who else could be kind of in.
- 7:11Speaker 3: The running for CO Mahomes is the favorite MAHA, right,
- 7:16Speaker 3: it's coming.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Off an injury, yes, but like I mean, could you
- 7:19Speaker 2: bring yourself?
- 7:20Speaker 4: My thought is this, if Patrick Mahomes looks like Patrick Mahomes,
- 7:26Speaker 4: he's going to be in the conversation for MVP. Yes, Well,
- 7:29Speaker 4: if he looks like Patrick Mahomes, he's probably going to
- 7:31Speaker 4: win the MVP. Yes, So then your vote, like you're
- 7:35Speaker 4: going to vote for MVP, you're not going to vote
- 7:37Speaker 4: from also as Comeback Player of the Year. I think
- 7:41Speaker 4: it would almost be silly and almost like an insult
- 7:43Speaker 4: to him.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Sure, so, yeah, makes sense. So I kind of think
- 7:47Speaker 2: to it might be a decent flyer on that all right.
- 7:50Speaker 5: Hawk the worst beat I've ever had betting was actually
- 7:53Speaker 5: on the Comeback Player of the Year. I think it
- 7:56Speaker 5: was twenty twenty four or twenty Yeah, twenty twenty four.
- 7:59Speaker 5: I bet Damar Hamlin to win Comeback Player of the
- 8:02Speaker 5: Year because he died and literally came back from death. Now,
- 8:05Speaker 5: as long as he plays, this is almost a shoeing.
- 8:07Speaker 5: I think I got DeMar Hamlin plus two.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I'm going to vote for the guy who you figure
- 8:11Speaker 1: the NFL was gonna gift it to him, right.
- 8:14Speaker 5: Yes, because people come back from acl injuries. Nobody has
- 8:16Speaker 5: ever come back from being dead and played football.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Right, the day before.
- 8:24Speaker 5: They're announcing the award, Damar Hamlin is like minus three hundred.
- 8:27Speaker 5: I'm like, okay, he played this season. The voters are
- 8:30Speaker 5: going to give it to him. It's a layup for
- 8:33Speaker 5: him at this point to win this award.
- 8:35Speaker 3: They give it to Joe Flacca.
- 8:39Speaker 2: They gave it to Joe Flacco that year.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Yeah, admittedly a better on field comeback correct playing wise, yeah, yes.
- 8:49Speaker 3: But obstacle wise, no dead on the field.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Right, It's crazy. It's the definition of comeback Player of
- 8:58Speaker 2: the Year.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Wait was Joe Flacco? He might be the only quarterback
- 9:04Speaker 1: of the NFL that is still playing What I mean
- 9:07Speaker 1: is he was playing when you left the Lebatar Show,
- 9:10Speaker 1: and I believe he's still playing. And if I told
- 9:12Speaker 1: you then that Joe Flacco would still be playing.
- 9:14Speaker 2: In the NFL, you would have told me I was crazy. Good.
- 9:17Speaker 4: Great question, like who in professional sports was playing, say
- 9:24Speaker 4: at the beginning of The LeBatard Show in four right,
- 9:28Speaker 4: and it's still playing now in professional sports in twenty
- 9:31Speaker 4: twenty six.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Right, yeah, Lebron definitely, Yes, Mad Hour Show, Flacco Flack.
- 9:39Speaker 3: When did Rogers come into the NFL? Because Rogers is close?
- 9:41Speaker 4: Oh, I vetit, Aaron Rodgers and Rogers was on with
- 9:44Speaker 4: us all the time.
- 9:45Speaker 1: I mean, when did he come into the NFL? That's interesting.
- 9:48Speaker 1: I'm checking it out right now. He was in the
- 9:52Speaker 1: five draft, Okay, so he was.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Right at the beginning.
- 9:54Speaker 1: He basically started at the same time we did. Right, Yeah,
- 9:58Speaker 1: what do you got on, Lebron?
- 9:59Speaker 2: Here?
- 10:00Speaker 4: We were talking on the on the radio show because
- 10:03Speaker 4: there were odds on this. Who do you think gets
- 10:06Speaker 4: introduced last?
- 10:08Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 10:08Speaker 4: Game one for the Sixers. They're doing the home team
- 10:13Speaker 4: introductions in Philly. Right, who gets introduced last? Which is
- 10:19Speaker 4: usually the stud, the star, the team leader.
- 10:24Speaker 1: God, can you put a bet on that, by the way.
- 10:27Speaker 4: You can really because I believe when Lebron played in Miami,
- 10:33Speaker 4: he would get introduced first. I think he made it
- 10:37Speaker 4: a point where he wanted d Wade to be introduced last,
- 10:40Speaker 4: so he went first. Yes, but you get to Philly,
- 10:44Speaker 4: do you let Jalen Brown go last?
- 10:47Speaker 1: He's branding the round went there to be announced last, right, Yes, but.
- 10:52Speaker 4: But it should I think I think it should be
- 10:55Speaker 4: Joel Embiid though.
- 10:59Speaker 2: He's been there the longest. He is the team leader. Yeah.
- 11:04Speaker 1: I mean it's the rare team that have four guys
- 11:06Speaker 1: where you could justify each of the four being announced last,
- 11:10Speaker 1: even Maxie. I mean MAXI was like a top five
- 11:12Speaker 1: scorer in the NBA. It's gonna come down to Embid
- 11:16Speaker 1: or Lebron James. It's not gonna be Jaylen Brown. I
- 11:19Speaker 1: think if you get Lebron James, it has to be
- 11:21Speaker 1: Lebron James.
- 11:22Speaker 2: You're telling me Jylen Brown, Yeah, possible. NBA MVP goes
- 11:29Speaker 2: to a new city, yep, and he's just going to
- 11:32Speaker 2: be introduced like third in the lineup. Well, I think
- 11:34Speaker 2: Edgecomb is third. You do it quickly. It's just you
- 11:37Speaker 2: bury him. In the middle of the stars. You know,
- 11:39Speaker 2: so how do you do it? Then you go?
- 11:41Speaker 4: I think Maxie first, even though you could make an
- 11:44Speaker 4: argument that he's last, right, I think it goes Maxi
- 11:49Speaker 4: Edgecombe Brown, It should go Embiid Lebron.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Yeah, well Lebron should be last.
- 11:57Speaker 4: I have a feeling though, that Embid gets introduced last.
- 12:01Speaker 3: I don't think there's.
- 12:02Speaker 5: Any way that mb doesn't get announced last because his
- 12:05Speaker 5: nickname is the process. They have that whole trust the
- 12:08Speaker 5: process thing. He is the Philadelphia seventy six ers. If
- 12:12Speaker 5: one of these players is going to get there Jersey
- 12:14Speaker 5: retired by the Sixers one day, it's going to be
- 12:17Speaker 5: Joel EmpId unless Lebron went back to back tow.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Given them years and years again, has he played for
- 12:23Speaker 2: years and years? No?
- 12:24Speaker 4: I think Is there that stat that he's missed more
- 12:26Speaker 4: games than he's played in the regular season?
- 12:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I believe so. Yes.
- 12:30Speaker 1: I don't view Joel Embiid as the Philadelphia seventy six
- 12:34Speaker 1: he is though.
- 12:35Speaker 4: He is really like he's the heartbeat of that team.
- 12:38Speaker 4: He is the de facto leader.
- 12:41Speaker 1: He's the facto leader who needed the help of Jalen
- 12:44Speaker 1: Brown and Lebron James to advance.
- 12:47Speaker 4: Oh further, I agree, he's never delivered the way that
- 12:51Speaker 4: he should be. He's always been injured, but he's still
- 12:54Speaker 4: the guy, and I think he's Is he beloved in
- 12:57Speaker 4: Philly or are people tired of him?
- 13:00Speaker 2: That's a great question.
- 13:01Speaker 3: I think he's more beloved than people are talking.
- 13:04Speaker 2: You think he's beloved.
- 13:06Speaker 5: Joel Embiid again, I think he represents the seventy six Ers.
- 13:10Speaker 5: They had the process where they draft faults, Embiid and Simmons,
- 13:15Speaker 5: and Beid's the only one that's turned into an MVP
- 13:18Speaker 5: caliber player for them, And I think seventy six Ers
- 13:20Speaker 5: fans look at Embiid through the when healthy, this guy
- 13:23Speaker 5: is an MVP still.
- 13:25Speaker 4: By the way, you know a lot of people were
- 13:27Speaker 4: very critical of Markel Foltz and his injury, but they
- 13:30Speaker 4: didn't go through what I went through it Hogen does,
- 13:32Speaker 4: and so I related well to Markel fults I was
- 13:36Speaker 4: one of the few people in media that supported him.
- 13:39Speaker 5: There's somebody right now who's listening to this show working
- 13:42Speaker 5: like a construction job.
- 13:44Speaker 2: He's laughing in his own joke.
- 13:46Speaker 5: Oh my, there's somebody working like a blue collar construction
- 13:50Speaker 5: job listening to this show right now, being like, is
- 13:53Speaker 5: he complaining about scoop and ice cream?
- 13:55Speaker 2: Yeah? Oh, I've made a career out of this.
- 13:57Speaker 4: I I've told this story before where I had just
- 14:00Speaker 4: gotten married. So I was what twenty seven years old,
- 14:04Speaker 4: twenty eight years old, right, and I was a Triple
- 14:08Speaker 4: A member because I don't know how to do anything
- 14:10Speaker 4: on a car, Like don't, I don't.
- 14:12Speaker 2: I don't want to do anything, right. Yeah. So we're
- 14:17Speaker 2: living in an apartment in our car, my wife and I.
- 14:20Speaker 4: Our car is parked right out front, you know, to
- 14:23Speaker 4: uncovered spots or whatever, and I go out and the
- 14:26Speaker 4: tires flat. I'm like, twenty eight twenty nine, I'm in
- 14:29Speaker 4: good shape, but I have to call Triple A. And
- 14:32Speaker 4: most people would be able to fix that flat because
- 14:35Speaker 4: you're not on the side of the road. You're in
- 14:37Speaker 4: your parking spot at home, like it's never more tailor
- 14:41Speaker 4: made for you to fix a flat.
- 14:42Speaker 2: But I don't know how to do it. So I
- 14:43Speaker 2: had to call Triple A.
- 14:44Speaker 4: But then when they got there, I walked out of
- 14:47Speaker 4: my apartment and I was holding my back and I
- 14:50Speaker 4: pretended like I had a very bad back injury, and
- 14:53Speaker 4: I said to him, I'm like, Man, I'd have done
- 14:56Speaker 4: this myself.
- 14:56Speaker 2: I didn't knock this out in twenty minutes.
- 14:58Speaker 4: I am so sorry to have to call you guys,
- 15:00Speaker 4: but I just had back surgery and uh and they
- 15:03Speaker 4: just won't allow me to do it because I was
- 15:05Speaker 4: just mortified that I had to call Triple A only
- 15:09Speaker 4: like again, side of the road. Whatever, Yes, it's my
- 15:12Speaker 4: parking spot.
- 15:13Speaker 2: I can have a lemonade while i'm you know, changing
- 15:19Speaker 2: the tire. But I don't know how the.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Guy changing the tire asking you, hey, how's your back?
- 15:28Speaker 1: So you really sold it? Man, felt terrible. You fake
- 15:32Speaker 1: the limb, you did, the whole thing fell terrible. You
- 15:37Speaker 1: know how to change the tire? No, no, no, Taylor.
- 15:44Speaker 5: I've changed a tire one time, just well enough to
- 15:47Speaker 5: get to like a mile down the road to a
- 15:50Speaker 5: repair shop. And I admittedly I had to watch a
- 15:53Speaker 5: YouTube video. I was just watching a YouTube. I'm kind
- 15:55Speaker 5: of part of the generation that if you just showed
- 15:57Speaker 5: me a YouTube video, I could kind of find fit
- 16:00Speaker 5: my way out. But if I had to do like
- 16:03Speaker 5: some serious driving on the tire, I wouldn't have been
- 16:05Speaker 5: that confident.
- 16:07Speaker 1: I love the idea of Hawk's selling that his back
- 16:09Speaker 1: is hurt. He's going through all the motions like he's
- 16:12Speaker 1: really selling it. It reminds me, Taylor, I told you
- 16:14Speaker 1: the story. I was in a hotel hawk and it
- 16:17Speaker 1: was I got a pint of ice cream from the cooler,
- 16:21Speaker 1: and I went out of my way to tell the
- 16:24Speaker 1: receptionist because I had to ask them for spoons, And
- 16:27Speaker 1: so I asked for two spoons, as if there was
- 16:29Speaker 1: a second person in my room, and I said, my
- 16:31Speaker 1: wife really wants ice cream. My wife was three thousand
- 16:34Speaker 1: miles away.
- 16:37Speaker 4: The weird thing it reminds me of asked this before, Like,
- 16:41Speaker 4: what's better than a Public's cake?
- 16:43Speaker 2: Right? Public's cake is a delicious cake? Yes?
- 16:46Speaker 4: Will you ever go into Public's and buy yourself a
- 16:49Speaker 4: cake because you feel like eating Public's cake?
- 16:53Speaker 2: I have? Yeah? Have you really? Yes? Yeah?
- 16:56Speaker 4: Because I could never bring myself to do that. I
- 16:58Speaker 4: would feel terrible. But it's like such a weird hiccup
- 17:01Speaker 4: that I have. It's like, oh, I'll eat a cookie
- 17:04Speaker 4: if I want a cookie. I'll eat ice cream if
- 17:06Speaker 4: I want ice cream. I love Public's cake. It's staring
- 17:09Speaker 4: at you right there in the bakery, but it's no
- 17:12Speaker 4: one's birthday. Well, I can't have it, then it's no
- 17:14Speaker 4: one's birthday, and it's a I find it to be
- 17:17Speaker 4: such a strange hiccup that I have because people are like, yeah,
- 17:20Speaker 4: if you want a cake, buy a cake, But like,
- 17:22Speaker 4: would you ever go to Public's You're just shopping for abby.
- 17:26Speaker 4: You come home, you have an actual, you know, twelve
- 17:29Speaker 4: inch round Public's cake and you just put it in
- 17:31Speaker 4: the fridge.
- 17:32Speaker 2: And you go, yeah, now we have a cake.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, I do it all the time. But you
- 17:35Speaker 1: feel like you're being judged. And what I do is
- 17:37Speaker 1: I just say, hey, kid's birthday, you know.
- 17:40Speaker 4: But I'm judging myself though, like what am I doing
- 17:42Speaker 4: with a birthday cake in the fridge.
- 17:47Speaker 1: It's so delightful though, I mean, listen, Laurie might get
- 17:50Speaker 1: upset at first when you bring it home, but.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Eventually she's gonna dig into that cake. Who isn't right
- 17:56Speaker 2: to a delightful tree. There was another.
- 18:00Speaker 4: Prop because you know he wants to do all the
- 18:03Speaker 4: imagery and all the stuff that comes with being in Philly.
- 18:07Speaker 4: What do you think he gets video doing first running
- 18:11Speaker 4: up the steps, the Rocky Steps, or visiting the Liberty Bell.
- 18:16Speaker 2: M Wow, not patter Gino's none of that.
- 18:21Speaker 4: There is a prop. There is a prop which cheese steak?
- 18:24Speaker 4: Does he go and eat first?
- 18:26Speaker 2: Wow? I gotta think he's gonna do the whole Rocky thing.
- 18:33Speaker 1: And I could see Lebron like really sinking into it
- 18:35Speaker 1: the way you sunk into your back injury when the
- 18:37Speaker 1: guy came to change your tire, Like, I could see
- 18:39Speaker 1: him with.
- 18:39Speaker 2: A sweatshirt on.
- 18:40Speaker 1: I could see him like redoing the entire scene the
- 18:44Speaker 1: way Rocky did.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Yes, I think he's gonna run up those steps correct.
- 18:47Speaker 4: There is a prop too, will he at any point
- 18:53Speaker 4: be caught chanting e A G L E S because
- 18:58Speaker 4: he's a Cowboys Yeah, and the Cowboys and the Eagles
- 19:02Speaker 4: fans do not mix, right, But now he's playing for Philly, will.
- 19:07Speaker 2: He do the Eagles chant?
- 19:09Speaker 3: Man?
- 19:10Speaker 2: What do you think, Taylor?
- 19:11Speaker 1: I think when you're living in New York, you have
- 19:12Speaker 1: to go out of your way to do stuff like that.
- 19:14Speaker 1: You have to embrace Rocky, embrace the Eagles because you're
- 19:17Speaker 1: living in New York City. While playing in Philadelphia, you're
- 19:20Speaker 1: essentially telling the city right off the bat, Hey, Philly,
- 19:23Speaker 1: you're not good enough for me.
- 19:24Speaker 2: I'm gonna live an hour to have Nord two hours north.
- 19:28Speaker 1: And so I think you have to sink into Yes,
- 19:30Speaker 1: I am now an Eagles fan.
- 19:31Speaker 2: That's how much I care about this.
- 19:33Speaker 5: I would lose respect for Lebron James if he came
- 19:35Speaker 5: out as an Eagles fan, because this is a problem
- 19:39Speaker 5: in New York sports to an extent where Jalen Brunson
- 19:42Speaker 5: Josh Hart faces of the Knicks, but both of them
- 19:45Speaker 5: are very clearly Josh Hart's a Commander's fan. Jalen Brunson
- 19:50Speaker 5: is an Eagles fan. Karl Anthony Towns is an Eagles
- 19:52Speaker 5: fan too. I would respect those guys less if they
- 19:56Speaker 5: all of a sudden became Giants fans. Like you grew
- 19:58Speaker 5: up an Eagles fan, Stay in Eagles f Lebron James
- 20:01Speaker 5: is a Cowboys fan, Stay a Cowboys fan.
- 20:05Speaker 1: But those guys don't have to act like anything. They're
- 20:07Speaker 1: the world champions. I mean, they could be Eagle fans
- 20:09Speaker 1: and Nick fans don't care. I mean, if they get
- 20:11Speaker 1: a care if Lebron is sitting there rooting for the Cowboys, you.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Know, I don't think. I don't think he'll do that.
- 20:17Speaker 4: I think he will embrace Philly in the ways where
- 20:20Speaker 4: he'll go to the Liberty Bell, and he will run
- 20:22Speaker 4: the rocky steps, and he'll be seen at Pat's and
- 20:25Speaker 4: Gino's and gyms like he'll embrace the city. But I
- 20:30Speaker 4: don't think he'll embrace the Eagles.

- 22:12Speaker 3: Hawk on the topic of football, do you care about
- 22:15Speaker 3: training camp?
- 22:18Speaker 2: Do I care about training camp? Well?
- 22:20Speaker 4: I care about it because I'm craving football at this
- 22:23Speaker 4: point of year. So I am a guy who is
- 22:27Speaker 4: looking at all the beat writers coverage I'm following along
- 22:31Speaker 4: on social media. I love to see a long pass
- 22:35Speaker 4: from your quarterback to a receiver and you feel like, hey,
- 22:38Speaker 4: there's some hope.
- 22:40Speaker 2: So you know, do I think it matters in the
- 22:43Speaker 2: long run.
- 22:44Speaker 4: Not a whole bunch, but you get to the end
- 22:46Speaker 4: of July and then you get into August. For me,
- 22:50Speaker 4: I'm trying to consume as much football as I can.
- 22:54Speaker 4: Football is my favorite sport to watch, to gamble on.
- 22:57Speaker 4: It's just to pay attention to. I like basketball, I
- 23:01Speaker 4: like hockey, I like baseball, but football, for me, it's
- 23:04Speaker 4: the best time of year. So I just I guess
- 23:06Speaker 4: I get to I start to get a little bit
- 23:08Speaker 4: excited this time of year.
- 23:10Speaker 5: So yesterday we had Michael Felger on from from Felger
- 23:13Speaker 5: and MAZ and I was asking him there was concerns
- 23:18Speaker 5: over AJ Brown and Drake May's connection early in training camp.
- 23:22Speaker 5: They were they were struggling. People were posting the stats
- 23:25Speaker 5: online like Drake May was like one for ten or
- 23:28Speaker 5: something anytime he tried to connect to AJ Brown. And
- 23:33Speaker 5: I asked Felger about how his callers have been reacting
- 23:37Speaker 5: to it and if they've been paying as much attention
- 23:40Speaker 5: to it as it seems. There's been traction on social
- 23:42Speaker 5: media Stu Gotts pipes up with who cares about training camp?
- 23:46Speaker 5: And then that's how we got this from Felger. But
- 23:49Speaker 5: in general, I was just saying, who cares? I mean,
- 23:51Speaker 5: it's training camp, that's all I care.
- 23:57Speaker 2: That is a sports radio staple. Who cares? I care?
- 24:01Speaker 4: You have to remember, though, the sports fans like, we're different.
- 24:07Speaker 2: We're very different.
- 24:09Speaker 4: Do you remember when Draft week would come around and
- 24:13Speaker 4: Dan this was back in four and it was such
- 24:17Speaker 4: a big deal it still is the NFL Draft, and
- 24:20Speaker 4: he would go out of his way to tell you,
- 24:22Speaker 4: I don't care, none of this matters. It's a crapshoot,
- 24:26Speaker 4: and it is. So it's the antithesis of everyone. Most
- 24:31Speaker 4: who were involved in sports like they're chomping at the bit.
- 24:36Speaker 4: They do care if Drake May. By the way, I
- 24:39Speaker 4: think Drake May is going to have an off season,
- 24:41Speaker 4: a down season. I think last season was the outlier.
- 24:46Speaker 4: When it comes to the Patriots and Drake May, I
- 24:48Speaker 4: think you're going to see Drake May fall back down
- 24:51Speaker 4: to earth and all Patriots fans are ready to anoint
- 24:54Speaker 4: him the next Tom Brady and by the way, good
- 24:56Speaker 4: on him goes to a Super Bowl and uh and
- 24:59Speaker 4: God bless him.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Very easy path to the Super Bowl.
- 25:02Speaker 4: But I think he's going to come back down to
- 25:05Speaker 4: Earth this season.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Just as an aside.
- 25:07Speaker 4: But most sports hosts, yeah, like they're going to talk
- 25:10Speaker 4: about I mean, think about Uri Perez getting pulled from
- 25:15Speaker 4: a perfect game here in Miami. That is the only
- 25:19Speaker 4: time I can recall in the last ten years of
- 25:23Speaker 4: hosting Afternoon Drive on WQAM talking about a pitching change.
- 25:30Speaker 2: I'm not kidding you.
- 25:31Speaker 4: Now think about in Boston how often they're talking about
- 25:35Speaker 4: a pitching change and whether it was the I mean,
- 25:37Speaker 4: I get annoyed by, you know, pulling a starting pitcher
- 25:41Speaker 4: who's throwing well and he's got seventy six pitches, but
- 25:44Speaker 4: it's time for the setup, Like it annoys me. But
- 25:47Speaker 4: to talk about and break down an actual pitching change,
- 25:50Speaker 4: I can remember one time in ten years doing that,
- 25:54Speaker 4: and it's Uri Perez after seven innings getting pulled during
- 25:57Speaker 4: a perfect game.
- 25:59Speaker 5: The difference Hawk is Evan and Tiky on w fa
- 26:02Speaker 5: N would still be talking about that pitching change.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Yeah, with all shares right, you're right familiar with Mike
- 26:10Speaker 2: Felger and Maz Yeah, Felgar, Maz. I know, mostly like
- 26:13Speaker 2: the Boston hosts and stuff. I mean, these guys are
- 26:16Speaker 2: doing twenty shares at Boston.
- 26:17Speaker 4: Man, it's insane what Boston sports radio does right compared
- 26:25Speaker 4: especially to us in Miami.
- 26:27Speaker 2: It still matters, is staggering.
- 26:30Speaker 4: Yeah, But I remember growing up in Chicago and when
- 26:34Speaker 4: I would listen to sports radio, like Kevin Matthews, they
- 26:37Speaker 4: were more entertainers. But like Kevin Matthews or something would
- 26:41Speaker 4: happen on sports radio, like it became news.
- 26:45Speaker 2: It was it was.
- 26:47Speaker 4: It's just a different sports city. Chicago is a different
- 26:50Speaker 4: sports city. Boston is a different sports city. Miami is
- 26:54Speaker 4: different in a lot of good ways. I like the
- 26:57Speaker 4: Miami sports scene over then more than some of these
- 27:02Speaker 4: you know, traditional sports markets. I think the Miami sports
- 27:04Speaker 4: scene is actually more fun because it's more forgiving. But
- 27:09Speaker 4: in some of these markets, yeah, like you've got the
- 27:12Speaker 4: entire city listening to EEI or in Philly the Fanatic
- 27:18Speaker 4: or that. That was one of the one of the
- 27:21Speaker 4: Lebron props I saw is which sports radio station will
- 27:25Speaker 4: he appear on first for an interview? W or the fanatic?
- 27:29Speaker 4: And I think it's the fanatic who has the sixers.
- 27:31Speaker 4: So they were like minus five hundred.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Yeah. Yes, here's the thing about who cares? I care.
- 27:36Speaker 1: I used to be the guy that cared. But the
- 27:40Speaker 1: Jets have done that to me. They sucked it out
- 27:42Speaker 1: of me, not only the Jets, but just being around you.
- 27:45Speaker 2: But don't you.
- 27:46Speaker 4: Look at like you know, I don't know if you
- 27:48Speaker 4: watched Dolphins practice yesterday, Malik Will has had an off practice.
- 27:52Speaker 4: This is the biggest question mark going into the Dolphins season.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Right the Dolphins season.
- 27:57Speaker 4: Look, there's no aspirations of the playoffs, there's no aspirations
- 28:01Speaker 4: that they're going to have an over five hundred team.
- 28:04Speaker 4: But you want to know, is Malik willis the guy
- 28:08Speaker 4: for the future or are you going to be drafting
- 28:11Speaker 4: a quarterback next year?
- 28:13Speaker 2: Here?
- 28:13Speaker 4: Are you going to be in the Arch Manning sweepstakes?
- 28:16Speaker 4: Are you like there's some questions that need to be answered.
- 28:20Speaker 4: That kind of starts, I think with practices this week
- 28:23Speaker 4: with Malik willis right.
- 28:25Speaker 1: So that's different because you have a new quarterback, a
- 28:27Speaker 1: young quarterback, a quarterback they're taking a chance on, and
- 28:30Speaker 1: you want him to have every day.
- 28:32Speaker 2: You want him to have a good practice.
- 28:34Speaker 1: You want them or you want him to justify why
- 28:38Speaker 1: the Dolphins signed him.
- 28:39Speaker 2: In the case of the Jets, So that's exciting for you, Hauck.
- 28:42Speaker 1: In the case of the Jets, I know Gino Smith
- 28:45Speaker 1: is having bad practices. I don't need anyone to tell
- 28:47Speaker 1: me about it. I know he's not sharp if he's
- 28:50Speaker 1: even there. And I know what the Jets are going
- 28:52Speaker 1: to do this year, and so maybe they have sucked
- 28:54Speaker 1: the fun of being a football fan out of me.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Tell her, you will laugh. That is right about this.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Dan went to the draft in New York City. He
- 29:03Speaker 1: went to the wrong location for the draft, and he
- 29:06Speaker 1: was so frustrated he quit writing for The Herald. I mean,
- 29:09Speaker 1: how about that.
- 29:12Speaker 4: There was a super Bowl in New Orleans. I believe
- 29:15Speaker 4: it was New Orleans, and Dan went to cover it
- 29:17Speaker 4: for The Harold. We were doing the radio show at
- 29:19Speaker 4: this time, but he also had his Miami Harold columnist duties.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Before you go forward, I think the super Bowl was
- 29:25Speaker 1: here and the Saints were playing in it, and he went
- 29:28Speaker 1: to New Orleans.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Yes, well, yes, I think he might be right.
- 29:32Speaker 4: I know that by the end of the Super Bowl
- 29:34Speaker 4: he's watching in a bar in the French Quarter and
- 29:39Speaker 4: about three minutes before the super Bowl, and remember this
- 29:42Speaker 4: is the lead sports columnist for the Miami Herald leaves
- 29:47Speaker 4: he doesn't watch the end of the game because he
- 29:49Speaker 4: wants to be out on Bourbon Street and see people
- 29:53Speaker 4: stream into the streets and how they're reacting, and then
- 29:57Speaker 4: he'll figure out what happened in the game by their
- 29:59Speaker 4: react or whatever.
- 30:01Speaker 2: And think about any other columnist.
- 30:03Speaker 4: In a major sports city saying, oh, by the way,
- 30:06Speaker 4: I'm not going to watch the end of the game.
- 30:08Speaker 4: I'm going to watch the people streaming out of bars
- 30:10Speaker 4: at the end of the game. But that obviously was
- 30:13Speaker 4: the tenor of our show as well.
- 30:15Speaker 1: When the Super Bowl came to Miami, dam went anywhere else.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Hat.
- 30:22Speaker 1: So you heard the clip who Cares I Care, which
- 30:25Speaker 1: I think is there's a good segment in there. Taylor
- 30:28Speaker 1: and I had a similar sports radio moment that I
- 30:31Speaker 1: think you'll appreciate, and it's called come on, no, you
- 30:35Speaker 1: come on, listen to this so Hawk.
- 30:38Speaker 5: Just to set it up a little, we were doing
- 30:40Speaker 5: Mount Rushmore's of basketball schools but from their football players,
- 30:44Speaker 5: and I was arguing on behalf of North Carolina's. I said,
- 30:48Speaker 5: Julius Peppers is on there, Florence Taylor, and then Steve
- 30:52Speaker 5: Gott said Bill Belichick's not on there. I said Mac
- 30:55Speaker 5: Brown should be on there, and then that's how we
- 30:57Speaker 5: got this interaction.
- 30:58Speaker 2: From Moor and Bill Belichick on there, and nor will he.
- 31:02Speaker 3: Now Mac Brown's on there.
- 31:04Speaker 5: Come on, come on, get you come on Business Sports
- 31:10Speaker 5: Radio Express.
- 31:11Speaker 3: Mac Brown was great in the nineties.
- 31:15Speaker 2: You come on, No, you come on, Taylor, be careful.
- 31:19Speaker 2: It's gonna be a weekly feature on his show. What
- 31:23Speaker 2: what was the Mount Rushmore?
- 31:26Speaker 5: I was saying North Carolina. So the debate was whether
- 31:29Speaker 5: schools or football schools or basketball school a right?
- 31:32Speaker 3: And then I said, I thought.
- 31:33Speaker 4: You were doing a Mount Rushmore of football players who
- 31:36Speaker 4: also played basketball.
- 31:37Speaker 2: And I was gonna submit Jimmy Graham for you out.
- 31:40Speaker 1: That's good, Yes, very good, not bad, that's good at all.
- 31:43Speaker 3: Antonio Gates would be on that Mount Rushmore.
- 31:45Speaker 4: Julius Peppers, free to use it on Fox Sports Radio, free.
- 31:50Speaker 1: To use come on, No you come on on w
- 31:53Speaker 1: q A M come
- 31:55Speaker 3: On, get you come on.
