- 0:04Welcome to Positively three hundred and sixty five, a podcast by Joe Wattis we
- 0:09wish to entertain, instruct and motivate if nothing else, Hopefully we can entertain
- 0:15and inspire you to live a more passon of life three hundred and sixty five
- 0:18days a year. And who can enjoy this message? A farmer moved into
- 0:28town. After getting settled in the new town, the farmer went to church
- 0:33for the first time. He found that the people in the church gossiped and
- 0:38hugged him for his poor appearance. After the service, the preacher went to
- 0:43the farmer and told him that in this town we get dressed up for church,
- 0:49but I am a humble farmer with no better clothes than knees. What
- 0:52shall I do? He asked? The pastor replied, just pray to God.
- 0:58He will tell you what to do. So the next week the farmer
- 1:02came back to church wearing different clothes, but they were no better than the
- 1:06other set of clothes he had on the week before. The pastor saw him
- 1:11and interrupted the service to parade the farmer. Didn't I tell you to ask
- 1:18God what to wear to come here? Yes, sir, you did,
- 1:22he said, and did you do that? Yes, sir, I did.
- 1:26And what did God tell you to wear? Well? To be honest,
- 1:32Pastor, God didn't know. He said he'd never been to this church
- 1:37before. Let's face it, sometimes people treat us badly. They may talk
- 1:53about us behind our backs. They pretend to be our friend to our faces,
- 2:00but their actions when we are not around are far different. It is
- 2:05important to realize that when we tolerate this behavior, we are partly responsible.
- 2:12I will talk about this in this week's episode of Positively three sixty five,
- 2:16but first we have our trivia question of the day. Are you ready for

- 4:30this week's trivia question? The question was originally Amazon sold only one kind of
- 4:38product. What was it? The answer? Books. Amazon expanded beyond books
- 4:46in nineteen ninety eight when it began offering music and DVD video sales. Today,
- 4:54in addition to these things, Amazon sells pretty much everything from a di
- 5:00ze. Now you know. Choosing who is and is not in your life
- 5:13is important for various reasons. Here are three key reasons. Number one emotional
- 5:21well being. The people you surround yourself with have a significant effect on your
- 5:29emotional health. Positive supportive relationships can uplift you, provide comfort, and enhance
- 5:35your overall happiness. Conversely, negative or toxic relationships can lead to stress,
- 5:43anxiety, and emotional exhaustion. By selectively choosing your relationships, you can create
- 5:49an environment that promotes emotional well being and reduces unnecessary stress. Two Personal growth
- 5:59and development. Surrounding yourself with people who inspire, challenge, and support you
- 6:05can significantly contribute to your personal and professional growth. These individuals can provide valuable
- 6:13insights, encouragement, and opportunities for learning and development. On the other hand,
- 6:19relationships with people who are negative or unsupportive can hinder your progress and keep
- 6:26you from reaching your full potential. Choosing to be around those who motivate and
- 6:31push you to be better helps you achieve your goals and grow as a person.
- 6:38Three. Healthy boundaries and self respect. Establishing and maintaining healthy boundaries is
- 6:46crucial for protecting your mental emotional health. By choosing who is in your life,
- 6:51you can ensure that your relationships are based on mutual respect and understanding.
- 6:58This allows you to set boundaries that prevent others from taking advantage of you or
- 7:02causing harm. My mom once told me that she walked into a room where
- 7:10a couple of friends were discussing her. They didn't know she was there.
- 7:15She shook her head, smiled, and walked away. My mom also told
- 7:19me that she had a friend who talked bad about her. She never knew
- 7:24that Mom had found out. Mom never mentioned it. She smiled and walked
- 7:30away from this friendship. She told me that she had a family who chose
- 7:34to shift her out of their life because she stood up for herself for a
- 7:40change, and because she stopped crossing oceans for them when they would not even
- 7:46help her across a bridge. She smiled, shook her head, and walked
- 7:50away. So I asked her how she could just walk away from those people
- 7:56who betrayed her while pretending to be friends or family. She answered that every
- 8:01time she came to a crossroad like that, she had to decide who will
- 8:07be going forward on her journey with her. This showed her who she should
- 8:11not take along with her. So she explained to me that you should never
- 8:16get mad at a person who betrays you, even in the name of friendship
- 8:22or family. Just gracefully bow out and enjoy your journey with all the new
- 8:28people God puts in their place. Thank you for joining us today. Please
