- 0:01Hello. Welcome to the No God Coach
- 0:02Huddle for May 4th, uh, June 4th, 2025.
- 0:07Your two-minute play of the day for
- 0:08applying God's word in your life. So,
- 0:10let's huddle up and hear today's play
- 0:13from Luke 19, which says, "A man of
- 0:15noble birth went to a distant country to
- 0:18have himself appointed king and then
- 0:20return." So, he called 10 of his
- 0:22servants and gave them 10 mas. Put this
- 0:24money to work, he said, until I come
- 0:27back. He was made king, however, and
- 0:29returned home. Then he sent for the
- 0:31servants to whom he had given the money
- 0:33in order to find out what they had
- 0:35gained with it. He replied, "I tell you
- 0:37that to everyone has more will be given.
- 0:39But as for the one who has nothing, even
- 0:41what they have will be taken
- 0:43away." God in Jesus came to earth to be
- 0:47appointed king. He was king and he
- 0:50became king by sacrificing himself on
- 0:52the cross. While he was God, he became
- 0:55man, a servant of men, in order to give
- 0:57himself as an offering for men so that
- 1:00all men could be reconciled to God.
- 1:03Because of this work, he has been
- 1:04appointed King of Kings and Lord of
- 1:06Lords before whom every knee will bow
- 1:09and every tongue confess that Jesus is
- 1:11Lord. And while here, he commanded his
- 1:14disciples to make disciples,
- 1:16perpetuating his work on earth through
- 1:18the proclamation of the gospel and the
- 1:20teaching of obedience to all his
- 1:23commands. This work continues not in the
- 1:26constant offering of human sacrifice,
- 1:28but in the continual remembrance through
- 1:30the proclamation of the work of Jesus on
- 1:33the cross. This mission, the mission of
- 1:36every Christian is the great commission.
- 1:39So what if we produce nothing in this
- 1:41work? What if we make no effort to see
- 1:44people come to Jesus through the
- 1:46proclamation or grow in Jesus through
- 1:49disciplehip? What if we fail to own this
- 1:52responsibility, disobeying God's command
- 1:55to make disciples? The parable Jesus
- 1:57tells is of God's pleasure and reward to
- 2:00the faithful and rebuke and condemnation
- 2:02to the lazy and unproductive. How much
- 2:05must we do to gain interest in the gift
- 2:08he has given to us? We should regularly
- 2:10assess our work at seeing God's kingdom
- 2:13come and his will be done on earth as it
- 2:15is in heaven. We should constantly
- 2:17challenge one another to love and good
- 2:19works that result in people coming to
- 2:21faith and growing in their faith. To do
- 2:24little or nothing in the work is to
- 2:26jeopardize our souls to hell. Why would
- 2:29we not want to receive God's greatest
- 2:31reward by giving our greatest effort in
- 2:34time and treasure to the work of God so
- 2:36that we can see him when we see him face
- 2:39to face we see his pleasure and we hear
- 2:42his commenation as good and faithful
- 2:45servants.
