- 0:20Speaker 1: a hater. It is at long last, El Duncan Friday.
- 0:24Speaker 2: El Duncan, what's going on?
- 0:25Speaker 1: What up, Beau? How you doing?
- 0:27Speaker 3: I'm good.
- 0:28Speaker 1: I was telling you before the show that people need
- 0:30Speaker 1: to understand this. Hey, man, people get busy. People got
- 0:33Speaker 1: stuff to do. I understand it, and I never want
- 0:35Speaker 1: to be the person That ever badgers. But every time
- 0:38Speaker 1: Ryan says, hey, you want to try out for the show? Yes.
- 0:41Speaker 1: He hits me and says, well, Elle says she's busy
- 0:42Speaker 1: this week. I'm like, cool. We're asking when she's not.
- 0:45Speaker 1: We're going to keep asking until we get us a time.
- 0:47Speaker 1: And it's not just us. Shout out to whoever that
- 0:50Speaker 1: man was that saw you in the airport who let
- 0:52Speaker 1: you know that it had been too long since you
- 0:54Speaker 1: had come back over to the crib.
- 0:56Speaker 3: You know, you got some real, real, real fans. I've
- 0:59Speaker 3: told you this numerous times. I will say it again.
- 1:01Speaker 3: I get recognized more for being on your show than
- 1:05Speaker 3: I do for being on the one million shows that
- 1:06Speaker 3: I'm on on ESPN. But this man, yeah, last week
- 1:08Speaker 3: I was traveling to Indianapolis and And he comes running
- 1:11Speaker 3: up to me and he's like, hey, man, I love
- 1:13Speaker 3: you on Bomani's show. Why you ain't got no love
- 1:15Speaker 3: for him, man? Why you ain't been on there in
- 1:17Speaker 3: a while, man? And I was like, I promise you,
- 1:20Speaker 3: Bo just has an uncanny knack for asking for me
- 1:22Speaker 3: on days I'm traveling or whatnot. I was like, but
- 1:24Speaker 3: I'm going on next week. So shout out to that
- 1:26Speaker 3: dude in the Indianapolis airport. We in here.
- 1:29Speaker 1: What did the world do to send you to Indianapolis
- 1:32Speaker 1: this time? Wrestling. Oh, you went for the wrestling show?
- 1:36Speaker 3: I did. I went for the wrestling for Wrestlepalooza. And
- 1:39Speaker 3: it was so wild because at first I was kind
- 1:42Speaker 3: of like, okay, I mean, I don't know much about wrestling.
- 1:45Speaker 3: My favorite wrestler, to show you my age and the
- 1:47Speaker 3: last time I really consumed wrestling, was Diamond Dallas Page.
- 1:50Speaker 3: So it's been a while. Exactly. DDP, let's go. But
- 1:55Speaker 3: once I got there and I was doing these interviews
- 1:58Speaker 3: with some of these wrestlers, I sort of realized why
- 2:00Speaker 3: I was the perfect fit for this because- As you know, Beau,
- 2:03Speaker 3: I'm very theatrical and everything that I do has a
- 2:06Speaker 3: tinge of acting in it. And as I'm going to
- 2:08Speaker 3: interview Becky Lynch and I realize, oh, she's going to
- 2:12Speaker 3: do this interview in full character. I was like, okay,
- 2:15Speaker 3: I feel like this is right in my wheelhouse and
- 2:18Speaker 3: I can definitely do this. But it's really interesting to
- 2:21Speaker 3: sort of, you know, when you're interviewing these people to
- 2:23Speaker 3: see who's going to be in full character, who's going
- 2:25Speaker 3: to like talk to you normally. Like I think I
- 2:27Speaker 3: asked her like a legacy question, right? I was like,
- 2:29Speaker 3: you and AJ Lee, you are two of the most
- 2:32Speaker 3: you know, famous and incredible legacy female wrestlers. And right away,
- 2:36Speaker 3: she's like, what do you mean?
- 2:37Speaker 1: Well, she's not, we're not two off.
- 2:39Speaker 3: I'm the best. I'm the man.
- 2:41Speaker 1: I'm the greatest.
- 2:42Speaker 3: She's nothing. She's not good. I was like, oh shit,
- 2:44Speaker 3: we're like doing this.
- 2:45Speaker 1: All right.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Well, I guess we're going to do this then. So
- 2:47Speaker 3: it was, it was definitely interesting. A lot of mullets.
- 2:50Speaker 3: We love that.
- 2:51Speaker 1: So it was a good time. Well, you need to
- 2:54Speaker 1: definitely do a little research. The term is kayfabe, which
- 2:56Speaker 1: is the idea of the wrestler being the wrestler at
- 2:59Speaker 1: all times. It's actually a philosophical issue within that world
- 3:04Speaker 1: and how kayfabe has changed. I think I'm saying it right.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Sorry for you wrestling fans if I'm not showing you
- 3:09Speaker 1: proper respect for fucking wrestling. But that's a thing about
- 3:14Speaker 1: whether or not you should ever see the wrestler as
- 3:17Speaker 1: an actual person or whether the wrestler should always be um,
- 3:21Speaker 1: be in character. It is just interesting to me that
- 3:23Speaker 1: like now the ESPN is in on wrestling. We kind
- 3:26Speaker 1: of got to act like wrestling is not wrestling. Yeah.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Like that is a, it's, it's, it's, it's a new
- 3:32Speaker 2: world with that.
- 3:33Speaker 1: What I have been shocked by in social media did
- 3:35Speaker 1: for me was I truly had no idea how many
- 3:38Speaker 1: of my grown ass friends were really into wrestling. Like
- 3:42Speaker 1: when I started doing the morning Jones is serious. The score,
- 3:45Speaker 1: the company that did it at the time, they were
- 3:47Speaker 1: the company that showed wrestling in Canada. So I got Corey.
- 3:50Speaker 1: They used to do like wrestling shows and wrestling analysis.
- 3:54Speaker 1: And I really thought that they were outliers. And I
- 3:56Speaker 1: did my best, which wasn't very much to shield my
- 3:59Speaker 1: judgment of them as adults.
- 4:01Speaker 2: But I they everywhere.
- 4:05Speaker 1: They everywhere in the Internet has allowed them to be
- 4:07Speaker 1: intellectual about it, which I appreciate because I like reading
- 4:09Speaker 1: about wrestling. But I can't believe that they all still
- 4:12Speaker 1: out here watching wrestling like that.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Yeah, they are. And they're breeding new ones. I mean,
- 4:16Speaker 3: I think, again, I sort of am starting to feel
- 4:18Speaker 3: like the more I'm around the demo that maybe it's
- 4:19Speaker 3: very much my demo because there's this maybe 11-year-old girl
- 4:23Speaker 3: that's at the broadcast that I'm at. And she's so sweet,
- 4:26Speaker 3: you know, big Pixar eyes. And she's got her little
- 4:29Speaker 3: Becky Lynch sign. And she's like, I love Becky Lynch
- 4:31Speaker 3: so much. And I was like, oh, this is gonna
- 4:32Speaker 3: be such a great moment for you to meet your hero.
- 4:34Speaker 1: What I didn't.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Realize is that little girl would turn into a monster
- 4:38Speaker 3: troll when CM Punk came out because... her favorite wrestler,
- 4:42Speaker 3: Becky Lynch and her husband, Seth Rollins have a huge
- 4:45Speaker 3: rivalry with CM Punk. And so this little girl just
- 4:48Speaker 3: transformed into this like mega troll. And she's like, you're nothing.
- 4:53Speaker 3: I hate you. And like, it was, I was like,
- 4:55Speaker 3: this is, you're literally breeding haters. And I kind of
- 4:58Speaker 3: dig it. Like I kind of was like, maybe this
- 5:01Speaker 3: really is like the area that I need to be
- 5:03Speaker 3: because I loved watching that little girl transform into a
- 5:05Speaker 3: Disney character and that all of a sudden just became
- 5:08Speaker 3: a monster. It was great.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Let me tell you this. The other thing that's happened too,
- 5:11Speaker 1: and I hadn't thought about this. It used to be
- 5:13Speaker 1: that it was like, I watched wrestling was when I
- 5:15Speaker 1: was little and then I got too grown for it.
- 5:17Speaker 1: But now we have established a world where you don't
- 5:19Speaker 1: feel like you have to do that.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Like I, I just, there was a day where I
- 5:22Speaker 1: was like, yeah, I believe I have outgrown this. No, no, no, no, no.
- 5:26Speaker 1: I ain't no outgrown wrestling no more. I don't know
- 5:28Speaker 1: if that's good or not, but wrestling is wrestling is here.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Listen, it's entertainment. It's fun to figure out if they
- 5:35Speaker 3: actually really hate each other. There are ways to sort
- 5:38Speaker 3: of put yourself into wrestling. I know a lot of
- 5:41Speaker 3: older people are like, oh, once I found out it
- 5:43Speaker 3: was scripted, I was done with it and whatnot. But
- 5:45Speaker 3: I would say that there are There's enough intrigue there,
- 5:48Speaker 3: apart from the decision itself on who's going to win.
- 5:50Speaker 3: There's enough intrigue there that I think you could like
- 5:53Speaker 3: stir up, you know, sort of a normal casual fan
- 5:56Speaker 3: into someone more avid. I mean, for me it was, yeah.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Yeah, we got to now get you to be somebody
- 6:01Speaker 1: rankside manager.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Oh, let's go. Can I like be a heel? Would
- 6:05Speaker 3: you be a heel or a hero if you were
- 6:07Speaker 3: a wrestler?
- 6:08Speaker 1: I would much rather be a heel. That looks like
- 6:10Speaker 1: a lot more fun.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Right?
- 6:11Speaker 1: Right. Or if you could figure out like, the rock
- 6:14Speaker 1: who's so good at being a heel that it became heroic.
- 6:17Speaker 4: Yes.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Cause that's the best.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Like a lovable, like a lovable asshole. That's probably like
- 6:24Speaker 3: the sweet spot.
- 6:25Speaker 4: Yes.
- 6:25Speaker 1: The rock, like, but I think in terms of wrestling heel,
- 6:29Speaker 1: cause I popped back in, in like.
- 6:31Speaker 2: The early arts for whatever reason.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Cause me and my buddy would order pizza and drink
- 6:36Speaker 1: brew and watch wrestling. Cause that's what there was for
- 6:38Speaker 1: us to do in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
- 6:41Speaker 5: Right.
- 6:42Speaker 1: And so like Kurt Angle as heel was my favorite
- 6:46Speaker 1: because I could never tell if he like you could
- 6:48Speaker 1: never tell if he understood that people like why people
- 6:51Speaker 1: hated him. He was the ultimate.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Why are you bullying me?
- 6:54Speaker 1: I'm right.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Meme sort of dude. And it cracked me up every
- 6:57Speaker 2: single time.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I love it. Total lack of self-awareness. Yes.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Here for it. Here for it. I know what else
- 7:02Speaker 2: you're here for.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Them Georgia Bulldogs is playing Alabama this week.
- 7:09Speaker 2: So I have always.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Been fascinated by the fact that Georgia and Alabama don't
- 7:13Speaker 1: really play each other that often. No, they have played
- 7:16Speaker 1: a lot in the last few years. But if you
- 7:17Speaker 1: look at it, it's basically been SEC championships and national championships,
- 7:21Speaker 1: which obviously didn't make sense because there were schools in
- 7:24Speaker 1: bordering states. The SEC didn't always have all these schools.
- 7:27Speaker 1: And so I thought that it was just kind of
- 7:30Speaker 1: a random quirk. Do you know why it is that
- 7:32Speaker 1: they did not play for all of those years?
- 7:34Speaker 3: I just assumed it was because they had divisions for
- 7:36Speaker 3: so long and they just weren't in our division.
- 7:38Speaker 5: Why?
- 7:39Speaker 2: Per the Wikipedia.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Okay. And this is true. In 1963, the Saturday Evening
- 7:46Speaker 1: Post magazine reported that Alabama coach Paul Bear Bryant and
- 7:49Speaker 1: Georgia athletic director Wiley Butts had conspired to fix the
- 7:53Speaker 1: 1962 game, which Alabama won 35 to nothing. After the
- 7:57Speaker 1: story broke, Butts resigned as athletic director, though Butts and
- 8:00Speaker 1: Bryant denied the allegations. The two sued the magazine's publisher
- 8:03Speaker 1: for libel and the case reached the Supreme Court. The
- 8:06Speaker 1: Supreme Court ruled in favor of Butts with the publisher
- 8:09Speaker 1: eventually being ordered to pay more than $ 3 million in damages.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Following the scandal, the schools decided to end their annual
- 8:15Speaker 1: series after the 1965 meeting. Can you imagine in this
- 8:20Speaker 1: day and age if somebody reported that Georgia's coach and
- 8:25Speaker 1: Alabama's coach had conspired to fix a game?
- 8:31Speaker 3: That's actually insane. And I've never heard that story before.
- 8:34Speaker 1: What?
- 8:34Speaker 3: And $ 3 million in the 60s, bro, probably bankrupt that paper.
- 8:39Speaker 1: It basically did. It is credited for being the end.
- 8:42Speaker 1: I'm sure they had some measure of insurance. But yes,
- 8:45Speaker 1: that is basically what ended the magazine.
- 8:49Speaker 3: When you think about it, though, that's actually kind of incredible.
- 8:51Speaker 3: And mostly because the idea that anybody from Georgia and
- 8:55Speaker 3: Alabama would come together and unite in one cause seems
- 8:58Speaker 3: crazy to me. But it makes a ton of sense.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Like I said, I just assumed that it was because
- 9:02Speaker 3: of the divisional thing and because they just always wanted
- 9:05Speaker 3: those two in the SEC championship, but it makes a
- 9:07Speaker 3: lot of sense.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Oh, that is like, I just saw that this morning
- 9:11Speaker 2: and I was like.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Oh my, I guess my question would be like, what's
- 9:14Speaker 3: the benefit for being the team that goes, all right,
- 9:17Speaker 3: we'll take the L here and score zero points. Like
- 9:19Speaker 3: what are you getting?
- 9:21Speaker 1: They took the fix so far to a 35 to
- 9:24Speaker 1: nothing fix. So, so you had the, you had the
- 9:26Speaker 1: win and the over, huh? Like that you, you, you
- 9:29Speaker 1: had to get all the money.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:30Speaker 3: You know what? Now that I'm thinking, maybe that's, we
- 9:33Speaker 3: need to get a journalist on it. Maybe that's exactly
- 9:36Speaker 3: what the Falcons were doing with the Panthers last week.
- 9:39Speaker 1: You couldn't help it, could you?
- 9:43Speaker 5: You saw that opportunity flash before your eyes.
- 9:46Speaker 1: I was like, wait, it's 30-something and nothing?
- 9:48Speaker 3: Sounds familiar.
- 9:49Speaker 5: You're like, we're going to get this in before anything changes.
- 9:53Speaker 5: You are going to make sure that you get that
- 9:56Speaker 5: i saw that the pandas had beat somebody 30 something
- 9:59Speaker 5: i had no idea who it was who they beat
- 10:01Speaker 5: but i knew exactly who it was that they beat.
- 10:03Speaker 2: I was like that was the falcons i guarantee you.
- 10:06Speaker 3: That that was say it say it say the famous
- 10:08Speaker 3: line bo i need to hear it.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Got off that narcotic i got off that narcotic falcons
- 10:13Speaker 1: are not to be trusted that's bad dope right there Oh, my.
- 10:18Speaker 3: God, that's amazing. Sorry, I had to. My bad, Falcons fans,
- 10:20Speaker 3: for that straight.
- 10:21Speaker 1: They are such wet dope. They are such wet dope.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Just useless.
- 10:25Speaker 6: And look, man, they got the black coach. They got
- 10:27Speaker 6: the black quarterback who always wears durag. They got the
- 10:30Speaker 6: black general manager. They got all kinds of things. They
- 10:32Speaker 6: got the kind of things that got me started rooting
- 10:34Speaker 6: for the Detroit Lions.
- 10:36Speaker 1: And I'm still saying, no, give me that over the
- 10:39Speaker 1: hapless Falcons. And those were the hapless Lions.
- 10:44Speaker 4: Listen.
- 10:45Speaker 3: the Panthers have been one of the worst defenses for
- 10:48Speaker 3: three years. The idea you could barely complete a pass
- 10:51Speaker 3: against them. And, and what's worse is that your hero,
- 10:55Speaker 3: the savior is Kirk cousins. Good God. It's every man
- 10:58Speaker 3: for himself. I mean, it's just, it's bad and getting worse.
- 11:01Speaker 3: And I'm, I'm trying to give a little bit of
- 11:02Speaker 3: grace to Michael Penix. He's still technically in his rookie campaign.
- 11:05Speaker 3: He hasn't started 18 games yet, but It's it's bad.
- 11:08Speaker 3: It's like every time you go into a season hopeful
- 11:10Speaker 3: as a Falcons fan. And again, this is a reminder
- 11:12Speaker 3: to your listeners. I am not a Falcons fan. I
- 11:15Speaker 3: am a Broncos fan. We already have our own issues.
- 11:18Speaker 3: I don't need to take the Falcons issues, too. But
- 11:21Speaker 3: it's just I just at some point I start feeling
- 11:23Speaker 3: like bad. Like it was funny at first. And now
- 11:25Speaker 3: it's just getting to a point where it's like this
- 11:27Speaker 3: is pathetic. I mean, this is this is bad, Bo.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Well, hold on. I want to get back to you
- 11:32Speaker 1: and your specification of being a Broncos fan because I
- 11:35Speaker 1: don't think that you even realize how pointed it is
- 11:39Speaker 1: that you are specifically a Broncos fan because I saw
- 11:41Speaker 1: the video you put on the internet the other day
- 11:44Speaker 1: where you run through all the teams you root for
- 11:46Speaker 1: and you root for the Braves.
- 11:47Speaker 4: I do.
- 11:48Speaker 1: And, hey, I understand that. Now, for people to understand
- 11:50Speaker 1: that she is a Broncos fan because she has family
- 11:51Speaker 1: from Denver. Yes. Now, Denver didn't always have a baseball team,
- 11:55Speaker 1: so the Braves make sense.
- 11:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Denver does have a basketball team. Yeah. You still root
- 12:00Speaker 1: for the Hawks. You don't root for the Nuggets. No.
- 12:03Speaker 1: You root for Georgia. You don't root for Colorado or
- 12:06Speaker 1: any of that. But you specifically looked at the Falcons
- 12:09Speaker 1: and said, why would I do that?
- 12:12Speaker 4: I know.
- 12:13Speaker 1: You did not look at the Hawks and say that.
- 12:15Speaker 3: No.
- 12:16Speaker 1: You looked at the Falcons and were like, why would
- 12:19Speaker 1: I do that when there's this alternative right here waiting
- 12:22Speaker 1: for me?
- 12:23Speaker 3: That have won championships?
- 12:23Speaker 4: Yes.
- 12:24Speaker 3: No, legitimately, I can take no credit for it. When
- 12:27Speaker 3: my family moved from Denver to Atlanta in 1980, before
- 12:31Speaker 3: I was born, the Nuggets weren't really a thing. They
- 12:34Speaker 3: didn't have like a Nugget. They were only really Broncos diehards.
- 12:38Speaker 3: So when they moved to Georgia, I inherited the Broncos.
- 12:41Speaker 3: And then they adopted all of the local teams because like,
- 12:44Speaker 3: you know, CU wasn't a thing really. Neither one of
- 12:46Speaker 3: my parents went there. They went to DU. And so
- 12:49Speaker 3: like the Rockies weren't really a thing. And so that's,
- 12:52Speaker 3: that is why, like they inherited those teams in the
- 12:54Speaker 3: eighties and then, you know, pass it on to me.
- 12:56Speaker 3: But the Broncos was like the legacy team that they'd
- 12:59Speaker 3: been holding onto for generations. So that's why.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Okay. Okay. But you guys, it all paid off though.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Cause good God, we've got as tough as it's been
- 13:07Speaker 3: to be a Broncos fan of late. We have three
- 13:09Speaker 3: championships to rest on and well.
- 13:11Speaker 1: You do. You do. And you got your Georgia Bulldogs who, hey, man,
- 13:16Speaker 1: I think if I had to guess, they're.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Going to beat the Brizzakes off of Alabama.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Alabama's got to bring this game.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Why do you say that, Beau? A, you're trying to
- 13:24Speaker 3: jinx my team, and B, what has led you to
- 13:27Speaker 3: believe that Georgia's going to beat the Briggs off of Alabama?
- 13:30Speaker 1: Okay. Number one, Alabama's got to bring this game to Athens.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Yes, for the first time in 10 years, by the way.
- 13:38Speaker 1: That's right.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Going back to your point about them never playing each
- 13:40Speaker 3: other in the regular season.
- 13:42Speaker 1: That's right.
- 13:42Speaker 2: So they're going to have to bring the game over
- 13:44Speaker 2: to the crib. I don't think.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Alabama is particularly good. I can see it on Caleb
- 13:49Speaker 1: DeBoer's face every game I watch that the stress of
- 13:51Speaker 1: that job is wearing on him. I still think Georgia
- 13:55Speaker 1: has one of those overwhelming talent kind of situations. Your
- 13:59Speaker 1: boy Gunner Stockton, who, I mean... Talk about the name
- 14:03Speaker 1: of a Georgia quarterback.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Hello.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Right up that alley.
- 14:07Speaker 1: I think they're going to wind up doing that. I'm
- 14:10Speaker 1: not trying to jinx you. They got to get some
- 14:12Speaker 1: revenge in because they lost last year. I'm always rooting,
- 14:17Speaker 1: and I hate this for you, Kalen DeBoer, but as
- 14:19Speaker 1: Jeremy Foley said when they fired Ron Zook, what will
- 14:22Speaker 1: be done eventually must be done immediately, and they're going
- 14:24Speaker 1: to run you off that job, and I just kind
- 14:26Speaker 1: of want to see how funny it gets before they do.
- 14:30Speaker 3: So I do think they're going to run Kalen DeBoer
- 14:32Speaker 3: out of the job. It's why a lot of people
- 14:34Speaker 3: were like, man, why take this job after Nick Saban, right?
- 14:37Speaker 3: You don't want to be the rebound. That's not the
- 14:40Speaker 3: long-term commitment. The rebound play is just exactly that. You're
- 14:44Speaker 3: just trying to get an easy lay. And so I
- 14:46Speaker 3: do think that like he could have success anywhere else
- 14:49Speaker 3: and be fine, but his record is always going to
- 14:51Speaker 3: be held up against Nick Saban. And when we're saying
- 14:53Speaker 3: things like they haven't started out this bad since Nick
- 14:55Speaker 3: Saban's first year, they haven't started out this bad since.
- 14:58Speaker 3: If they end up losing this game, then they would
- 15:01Speaker 3: be two and two. which is their worst start since
- 15:03Speaker 3: they won four games in an entire season. So like
- 15:06Speaker 3: all of that is, is true. However, I think a
- 15:09Speaker 3: big part of what made, you know, Kalen DeBoer's year
- 15:13Speaker 3: last year, despite losing to Vandy, despite their season, I
- 15:16Speaker 3: think they lost to Tennessee last year too, was that
- 15:17Speaker 3: he beat Georgia. It was like this idea. And that's
- 15:20Speaker 3: the frustrating part for me. Kirby Smart is one in
- 15:23Speaker 3: six against Alabama, meaning that Clark Lee, the head coach
- 15:27Speaker 3: of Vandy has as many wins against Alabama as As
- 15:31Speaker 3: Kirby Smart does. And Kirby is... I'm not being biased here.
- 15:36Speaker 3: I think the best college football coach. He's had the
- 15:38Speaker 3: most success in terms of consistency and all those things.
- 15:41Speaker 3: It's been quite a run over the last 10 years.
- 15:43Speaker 3: But there is just... There's a ghost. There's a fainting spell.
- 15:47Speaker 3: There's something that happens every f * * * ing
- 15:50Speaker 3: time we play Alabama.
- 15:51Speaker 1: You know what it is, Bo?
- 15:53Speaker 3: I'm watching Tennessee choke this game away a couple of
- 15:55Speaker 3: weeks ago to Georgia. And I was thinking... We are
- 15:59Speaker 3: to Tennessee what Alabama is to us. Despite being better,
- 16:02Speaker 3: more talented, Tennessee should have won that game. They played better.
- 16:06Speaker 3: They looked better. They bullied us in the trenches. They
- 16:08Speaker 3: won every facet of the game. And alas, they found
- 16:11Speaker 3: a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
- 16:13Speaker 3: And that's the same thing that we do every single year,
- 16:18Speaker 3: save for the one time we beat them in the
- 16:20Speaker 3: Kirby Smart Era in the National Championships. And so for me,
- 16:22Speaker 3: it's not about the fact that, yes, we're more talented,
- 16:25Speaker 3: or yes, that I trust our quarterback more than I
- 16:26Speaker 3: trust Ty Simpson, or the fact that BAM is feeling
- 16:29Speaker 3: really good about themselves because they beat up on Wisconsin
- 16:31Speaker 3: and GLM. It's just this idea that we still have not...
- 16:37Speaker 3: exercise those demons that somehow we find a way to
- 16:41Speaker 3: give the game away every single time. And last year, like,
- 16:44Speaker 3: I don't care what the SEC team is. If you
- 16:46Speaker 3: have four turnovers, Carson Beck, you're going to lose that game.
- 16:50Speaker 3: And the idea that we were even in a position
- 16:52Speaker 3: to win that game and we're winning at the end
- 16:55Speaker 3: of the game. And then what happens? The same thing
- 16:57Speaker 3: that happened with Tua and Jalen and Tua again, Ryan Williams,
- 17:02Speaker 3: 75 yard touchdown. It's just Jalen Milrow has only ever
- 17:05Speaker 3: looked good against Georgia or our ass up. And I
- 17:09Speaker 3: think that's what it is, is that like those Alabama
- 17:11Speaker 3: kids get up for this game in such a way
- 17:13Speaker 3: that it's like, this could save our season. Like, yes,
- 17:15Speaker 3: we underwhelmed, we underperformed and we didn't ultimately get to
- 17:19Speaker 3: the CFP like we want, but at least we beat Georgia.
- 17:22Speaker 3: And like, that's where we're at with this team. And
- 17:24Speaker 3: that's scary.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Part of what I enjoy about this, like, Again, rivalry
- 17:31Speaker 1: that's not really a rivalry, but became a rivalry again, right?
- 17:33Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:34Speaker 1: And keep in mind, Georgia has lost to Alabama nine
- 17:37Speaker 1: of the last 10 times they played. And that run
- 17:39Speaker 1: begins with Honestly, maybe the most demoralizing loss I've ever
- 17:43Speaker 1: seen a team take, which was that funeral in 2008,
- 17:46Speaker 1: where Georgia decided to have a blackout on the field
- 17:50Speaker 1: and a blackout in stands, and they were losing 31
- 17:53Speaker 1: to nothing in the second quarter. And it was a
- 17:55Speaker 1: methodical set them on fire game. I see ASL remembers
- 17:59Speaker 1: every single bit of it. It was wild. It was
- 18:01Speaker 1: really the day that Alabama announced that this saving thing
- 18:04Speaker 1: was coming back. But what I find interesting about this
- 18:06Speaker 1: is as Georgia has stampeded America, For the last however
- 18:11Speaker 1: many years, right? It's really been the better part of
- 18:13Speaker 1: since 2017 when they lost the national championship game to Alabama.
- 18:17Speaker 1: I can't think of a circumstance or situation. Florida State
- 18:21Speaker 1: is the closest thing I can think to it in
- 18:22Speaker 1: the late 80s and early 90s where a team was
- 18:25Speaker 1: so good. but still had a nemesis that they couldn't
- 18:28Speaker 1: quite get past, right? It makes this so fascinating when
- 18:33Speaker 1: you think about it. Like when Clemson had their run,
- 18:36Speaker 1: they would go back and forth with Alabama, right? Like
- 18:38Speaker 1: you get one, we get one. Alabama still has Georgia's number.
- 18:42Speaker 1: It's like Nadal having Federer's number in a way, right?
- 18:46Speaker 1: But just can't quite get past that one. And that
- 18:50Speaker 1: is so compelling to me.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Yes. It's Lamar Jackson versus the Chiefs. We're Lamar Jackson
- 18:54Speaker 3: and they're the Chiefs. Like, This man can do absolutely anything,
- 18:58Speaker 3: but he just can't seem to beat that team. And
- 19:01Speaker 3: it's so infuriating. And like, there's been people that are like, oh,
- 19:05Speaker 3: you know, the rivalry's lost its luster since Nick left.
- 19:08Speaker 3: And to be honest with you, I feel like that
- 19:10Speaker 3: would be the case. if we had won last year,
- 19:13Speaker 3: like if Georgia had won last year and it was like,
- 19:15Speaker 3: all right, so it was a Saban thing, right? Like
- 19:17Speaker 3: it was clearly a Saban thing. And there's no shame
- 19:18Speaker 3: in that. There's no shame in losing to the greatest
- 19:21Speaker 3: football coach of all time. No shame. We get it.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Kirby was under him. He knows Kirby's tendencies. That used
- 19:27Speaker 3: to be his DC. Like you could make those excuses,
- 19:29Speaker 3: but to lose them to Kalen DeBoer, it was like,
- 19:32Speaker 3: oh God, I think that's what reinvigorated the idea that
- 19:35Speaker 3: this is just, This is psychological more than it is
- 19:39Speaker 3: anything else. And like they need, you know, I assumed
- 19:42Speaker 3: that we would put that to bed after we beat
- 19:44Speaker 3: them in the national championship. It was like, all right,
- 19:46Speaker 3: demon exercise. It doesn't matter. But it's endured. It has endured.
- 19:50Speaker 3: because for all intents and purposes, we should have a
- 19:53Speaker 3: winning record against them over the last few years, considering
- 19:57Speaker 3: we've got two national championships. But it still is just
- 20:01Speaker 3: this thing where we can't beat them. And to be honest, Beau,
- 20:03Speaker 3: the most insufferable part has been that I live with
- 20:08Speaker 3: a Vanderbilt Commodore. And this man has been so annoying
- 20:15Speaker 3: since Vandy beat Alabama last year. I low key, I
- 20:18Speaker 3: don't even care about getting trolled by Bama fans. I
- 20:21Speaker 3: want us to win so I can stop being trolled
- 20:23Speaker 3: by the Commodore that lives in my house. Like he
- 20:26Speaker 3: looked at the schedule yesterday and he was like, oh, perfect.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Alabama plays Vandy again next year or next week. So
- 20:31Speaker 3: don't worry about it. We'll avenge you again. I'm like,
- 20:34Speaker 3: Oh my God. Like he's calling Vandy Thanos. He's saying
- 20:37Speaker 3: that they Thanos Alabama and they ended them. Every time
- 20:42Speaker 3: Bama loses, he's taking credit saying that Vanderbilt did this
- 20:45Speaker 3: and broke them somehow. I'm so sick of his. braggadoce
- 20:50Speaker 3: because he's ground away for the first time in like
- 20:53Speaker 3: 50 years to beat a number one team. I'm tired
- 20:57Speaker 3: of it. So I need that more than anything just
- 20:59Speaker 3: so he can shut the fuck up.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Vanderbilt is ranked, for those of you who don't know this,
- 21:04Speaker 1: they're honest to God ranked.
- 21:07Speaker 3: Who, Vandy?
- 21:07Speaker 5: Yes.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:09Speaker 3: Yo, Vandy's not a cakewalk team anymore, yo. When I
- 21:14Speaker 3: look at Georgia's schedule and I'm like, okay, the no-brainer
- 21:17Speaker 3: wins like Vandy, Georgia Tech, those are not no-brainers anymore.
- 21:20Speaker 3: That's why games like this are so important because that
- 21:23Speaker 3: last game of the year that used to be a
- 21:24Speaker 3: tune-up before the playoffs is not a tune-up anymore. We
- 21:27Speaker 3: saw that last year in the seven overtimes. Georgia Tech
- 21:30Speaker 3: is not to be played around with and Vandy either.
- 21:32Speaker 3: The SEC is getting better.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Well, they went to South Carolina and smacked them.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Smoked them.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Right? Now, look. I mean, South Carolina does not appear
- 21:40Speaker 1: to be as good as we thought they would be
- 21:42Speaker 1: this year. That's fine. But that does not change the
- 21:44Speaker 1: fact that they went in their house and beat them
- 21:46Speaker 1: by four scores.
- 21:47Speaker 4: Yes.
- 21:47Speaker 3: A tough place to play, by the way.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Yeah, boy. I'm rooting for you dogs a little bit.
- 21:55Speaker 1: I am. Like, I want to see the thing happen.
- 21:58Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 21:59Speaker 3: I'm like– You're with your best, Bo. I feel like
- 22:01Speaker 3: you're tiptoeing in this endorsement.
- 22:02Speaker 1: I like– I liked Georgia better when they weren't as good.
- 22:08Speaker 3: When was that? Ten years ago.
- 22:12Speaker 1: I don't know. I've never loved UGA, but it's always
- 22:15Speaker 1: been in proximity to me. There are a lot of
- 22:18Speaker 1: people in my life that are happier if Georgia wins,
- 22:21Speaker 1: so I would like to see Georgia win in those cases,
- 22:24Speaker 1: but I don't know. Juggernaut Georgia, for whatever reason, hadn't
- 22:28Speaker 1: felt as fun to me as other juggernaut teams and
- 22:32Speaker 1: franchises have been. Juggernaut Alabama was not a lot of
- 22:35Speaker 1: fun to me, obviously. But I don't know. So yeah,
- 22:38Speaker 1: good for you guys if you go out there and
- 22:40Speaker 1: get your dub. You feel me?
- 22:43Speaker 3: You know what I want to know? I have been
- 22:44Speaker 3: dying to ask you, with those Texas roots of yours,
- 22:47Speaker 3: how you feel about Arch Manning.

- 25:23Speaker 2: Back with Elle Duncan. She asked how I felt about
- 25:26Speaker 2: Arch Manning.
- 25:27Speaker 1: I actually think this is really interesting because I got
- 25:28Speaker 1: off that narcotic too because that narcotic wanted people to
- 25:31Speaker 1: sing a song that I found to be disrespectful to
- 25:33Speaker 1: my dignity. You understand what I'm saying? When Sarkeesian got
- 25:36Speaker 1: that job, he came out there and was like, oh, yeah,
- 25:38Speaker 1: we're going to stand on the line and we're going
- 25:39Speaker 1: to sing that song. I was like, all right, y'all
- 25:41Speaker 1: going to sing this song without me. But what I
- 25:44Speaker 1: find interesting about Arch is in a much different way,
- 25:49Speaker 1: Arch reminds me of Josh Allen in the sense that
- 25:52Speaker 1: I looked up one day and was like, wow, the
- 25:54Speaker 1: only person that seems to be honest about Josh Allen
- 25:56Speaker 1: is Josh Allen.
- 25:56Speaker 2: This is crazy.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Like everybody else talks about him in these terms that
- 25:59Speaker 1: don't always match reality or go a little bit too far.
- 26:02Speaker 1: But he seems to get what he is. I feel
- 26:04Speaker 1: the same way about Arch and his family with him, right? Like,
- 26:07Speaker 1: when Firebomb got on TV and said he's the best
- 26:08Speaker 1: quarterback since Tim Tebow, it's been five quarterbacks since Tebow
- 26:12Speaker 1: that was better quarterbacks than Tim Tebow. Like, we just
- 26:14Speaker 1: set this boy up in a lot of ways for
- 26:16Speaker 1: a standard that he couldn't reach.
- 26:18Speaker 2: But I also find it objectively.
- 26:20Speaker 1: Interesting in a way that it's interesting because it's not
- 26:22Speaker 1: happening to me. he seems to be struggling with the
- 26:27Speaker 1: weight of the pressure. Like he's out here when they
- 26:31Speaker 1: play against bad teams, he looks excellent. Yes. When they
- 26:36Speaker 1: play against good teams, he looks terrible. And it's all
- 26:41Speaker 1: right here between the ears. Right there between the ears.
- 26:44Speaker 1: It seems clearly to be that. And I don't know
- 26:48Speaker 1: if anybody knows exactly how to handle this because they
- 26:51Speaker 1: built up so much around him. If he winds up
- 26:53Speaker 1: becoming good after this, it will be very gratifying to
- 26:56Speaker 1: watch as an objective observer. Because what it takes to
- 26:59Speaker 1: overcome something like that, I think, is what truly compels
- 27:02Speaker 1: us about sports in the first place. I'm with you. I.
- 27:06Speaker 3: I'm glad that at the very least we put to
- 27:08Speaker 3: bed that transitive property somehow helps you become a quarterback
- 27:12Speaker 3: because it's just so weird to me when people talk
- 27:14Speaker 3: about lineage. And it's like I understand, you know, the
- 27:18Speaker 3: family that he comes from. And I understand that that
- 27:20Speaker 3: means that he had access, right, to better coaching, that
- 27:24Speaker 3: he had access to better trainers, that he had more
- 27:27Speaker 3: tools to help him be an excellent quarterback. But he's
- 27:32Speaker 3: still an entirely different person with his own unique DNA.
- 27:36Speaker 3: I feel for the kid because they just were like, oh, well,
- 27:40Speaker 3: because of Arch and because of Peyton and because of Eli,
- 27:42Speaker 3: none of whom are his children, by the way. That's
- 27:45Speaker 3: not their kid. All of a sudden it was like, well,
- 27:48Speaker 3: then he's just going to be a Hall of Famer.
- 27:50Speaker 3: I mean, they were ready to put this dude... in Canton,
- 27:54Speaker 3: like before he started his first game. And I'm not
- 27:57Speaker 3: going to reveal who told me this because I think
- 28:01Speaker 3: I don't want to dime them out. They spent some
- 28:03Speaker 3: time with Texas, but this is last year. And I
- 28:05Speaker 3: wasn't the biggest Quinn Ewers fan in the world. I
- 28:07Speaker 3: thought it was pretty average. And I was buying the
- 28:09Speaker 3: hype of like, it's Arch Manning. Like this guy's got
- 28:12Speaker 3: all the tools. He's got the this. He is the
- 28:14Speaker 3: quarterback that was promised. And I said to this person, like,
- 28:18Speaker 3: I don't understand. Quinn's just okay. And Quinn's going to
- 28:21Speaker 3: be gone next year. You got to give Arch some reps, right?
- 28:24Speaker 3: You got to get Arch in there. Why not just
- 28:25Speaker 3: hand the keys to the kingdom to him, let him
- 28:27Speaker 3: work it out. And then you're poised and primed for
- 28:30Speaker 3: the next couple of years. And this person looked at
- 28:32Speaker 3: me and goes, yeah, what if Arch is actually not
- 28:36Speaker 3: that good? And I said, what do you mean? And
- 28:39Speaker 3: they're like, what if some of this is because the
- 28:43Speaker 3: coaches see him at practice every single day, unlike us.
- 28:47Speaker 3: And they know that he's not that good. And I
- 28:51Speaker 3: was like, that can't be true. And he was like,
- 28:54Speaker 3: I'm just telling you what I've heard, which is that
- 28:56Speaker 3: the inconceivable, which is that maybe Arch isn't that good. Now,
- 29:01Speaker 3: that was last year, obviously. And I don't think there's
- 29:04Speaker 3: some referendum on Arch Manning. I think the dude's going
- 29:07Speaker 3: to be a good quarterback. I think he's going to
- 29:09Speaker 3: be fine. But I do think that maybe.
- 29:15Speaker 3: There was this bill of sales that was sold and
- 29:18Speaker 3: Texas bought into it and they bought into the name
- 29:20Speaker 3: and the hype. And I was told that they specifically
- 29:23Speaker 3: chose Texas because of the relationship, the family relationship with Sark.
- 29:27Speaker 3: And they really thought that Sark was innovative offensively enough
- 29:29Speaker 3: to put Arch in the best position to win. Maybe
- 29:32Speaker 3: Texas bought something that was not nearly as ready to
- 29:35Speaker 3: go as they thought. Like maybe they thought they were
- 29:38Speaker 3: buying the Lego structure already built and they realized, oh,
- 29:41Speaker 3: we got to put this shit together. And that's kind
- 29:44Speaker 3: of what we're seeing now. It's not been totally surprising
- 29:48Speaker 3: to me based on those comments from a colleague last
- 29:51Speaker 3: year that he's struggling in this way because I think
- 29:54Speaker 3: that if given an opportunity, it probably would have gone
- 29:57Speaker 3: with Quinn Ewers this year as well.
- 29:59Speaker 1: I think a big part of this is that winning
- 30:04Speaker 1: the recruiting battle was as important as the player was. Yes. Right.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Like it was a big signal to everybody involved that
- 30:11Speaker 1: this is one that you want to win, regardless of
- 30:13Speaker 1: how good the kid was or was not. And hey, man,
- 30:16Speaker 1: go look it up. Five star recruits do not translate
- 30:18Speaker 1: into first round picks by definition. They don't translate into
- 30:21Speaker 1: all Americans by definition. The miss rate on five star
- 30:23Speaker 1: recruits is actually much higher. then I think people realize
- 30:28Speaker 1: that it is. And there were always questions about him.
- 30:31Speaker 1: But I just feel like when you look around at
- 30:33Speaker 1: everything else, say what you want about Archie Manning. Archie
- 30:35Speaker 1: Manning is not out here seeking all the attention for
- 30:40Speaker 1: his boys and for his grandson in this case. They
- 30:43Speaker 1: play a lay low game. We did all the stuff. Yeah.
- 30:47Speaker 3: The media, 100%.
- 30:49Speaker 1: It don't seem to be there. Now, I want to
- 30:51Speaker 1: switch gears with you a little bit because we got
- 30:52Speaker 1: something going in the NFL that I think is interesting.
- 30:56Speaker 1: I guess it's so interesting you living in Bristol where
- 30:58Speaker 1: you kind of have two local teams, but no local
- 31:00Speaker 1: teams because you're halfway between New York and Boston. But
- 31:03Speaker 1: the New York Giants, they have changed quarterbacks. They went
- 31:08Speaker 1: from Russell Wilson to Jackson Dart. And I want to
- 31:11Speaker 1: ask this question before we talk about Jackson Dart, because
- 31:15Speaker 1: now Russell Wilson is the backup. Jackson Dart's the number one.
- 31:19Speaker 1: What is James there, doing card tricks on the sidelines? Like,
- 31:22Speaker 1: what is the point of having him if he can't
- 31:25Speaker 1: even be the number two after Russell Wilson was out
- 31:27Speaker 1: there looking like Silky Johnson's coat, except when he was
- 31:30Speaker 1: playing the even more rat-ass Make-A-Wish Foundation defense of the
- 31:34Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboys?
- 31:36Speaker 3: Well, I think Jameis is there. He's the meme ambassador.
- 31:39Speaker 3: He is literally there for soundbites and memes. Vibes.
- 31:43Speaker 1: He's the vibes coordinator.
- 31:45Speaker 3: He's the vibes guy, 100%. And listen, people have made
- 31:47Speaker 3: careers on less, so I'm with him there. But it's
- 31:53Speaker 3: sad because literally, you don't have to be Dr. Strange
- 31:56Speaker 3: to have Dr. Strange this. You could have played out
- 31:59Speaker 3: every scenario, and you knew it was always going to
- 32:02Speaker 3: land there. at Russell Wilson very early on in the
- 32:05Speaker 3: season getting benched in favor of Jackson Dart. Because when
- 32:08Speaker 3: it comes to the New York Giants, the other quarterback
- 32:10Speaker 3: in their mind is always the better quarterback. That's just
- 32:12Speaker 3: how they are. They want the thing that they don't have.
- 32:16Speaker 3: And I think for Russell Wilson, he has not done
- 32:18Speaker 3: enough to keep his job, certainly. But this idea that
- 32:22Speaker 3: the Giants think everything is going to be solved by
- 32:24Speaker 3: bringing in Jackson Dart is also wild to me. Good luck.
- 32:27Speaker 1: First of all, quarterbacks drafted in the 20s, that don't
- 32:30Speaker 1: really go. Like that's a, that's a, that, that don't,
- 32:34Speaker 1: that don't, that don't typically really hit the people who
- 32:36Speaker 1: I trust on these things going into the draft. We're
- 32:39Speaker 1: not excited about this Jackson dart thing. And maybe it's
- 32:42Speaker 1: been different since he got, you know, with a professional team,
- 32:45Speaker 1: I have no idea how good he is or is
- 32:48Speaker 1: not going to be. This is a classic coach trying
- 32:50Speaker 1: to save his job proposition. And I didn't understand day ball,
- 32:58Speaker 1: but he did the press conference. And he said he
- 33:00Speaker 1: would not explain why Russell Wilson was losing his job.
- 33:04Speaker 1: And you know what? Maybe it's kind of like Michael
- 33:07Speaker 1: Stipe of R.E.M. once said that when he used to
- 33:09Speaker 1: get pressured about coming out as gay, he said he
- 33:12Speaker 1: never came out because he thought it was obvious. Like,
- 33:16Speaker 1: he didn't think there was, if there was a closet,
- 33:18Speaker 1: it was glass. Like, he didn't think that this needed
- 33:20Speaker 1: to be explained. Maybe that's Brian Dabo's thing about Russell Wilson. Like,
- 33:24Speaker 1: why is he losing his job? Did you watch the game? Like,
- 33:27Speaker 1: I assume that y'all be going to all the games.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Did y'all see the game? Then, of course, you know,
- 33:31Speaker 1: I couldn't believe how bad he looked. I mean, and
- 33:34Speaker 1: that tells you how bad the Cowboys are. Except in
- 33:37Speaker 1: the Cowboys game, he also looked as bad as he
- 33:39Speaker 1: looked in the last game, just except for the other,
- 33:42Speaker 1: when he was just like, all right, just chuck it
- 33:44Speaker 1: up there, dawg.
- 33:45Speaker 3: Yeah, well, the sad part is that was still one
- 33:47Speaker 3: of the best Russell Wilson games we've seen in some time.
- 33:49Speaker 1: I mean, he threw for like four to 50 yards.
- 33:51Speaker 2: It was crazy.
- 33:53Speaker 1: And poor Malik Neighbors. Like normally, especially he's just in
- 33:56Speaker 1: his second year.
- 33:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:58Speaker 2: He is an old school, give me the damn ball
- 34:01Speaker 2: sort of receiver.
- 34:02Speaker 1: And I can't think of a time that there's been
- 34:04Speaker 1: a receiver who has demonstrated this attitude in public and
- 34:07Speaker 1: this young where we're all on his side.
- 34:09Speaker 5: Yes.
- 34:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:11Speaker 2: We're all on his team.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:12Speaker 3: He's like, you're wasting my good years. You know what though?
- 34:15Speaker 3: I actually really love this for Russell Wilson because Russell
- 34:18Speaker 3: Wilson has, have you ever had that person in your
- 34:20Speaker 3: life who's like, like just doggedly determined to be with
- 34:26Speaker 3: you even though you've done nothing nice to them like
- 34:29Speaker 3: they're just they're gonna love you through anything they're like
- 34:32Speaker 3: i know that you cheat on me and you're not
- 34:34Speaker 3: particularly nice to me and you border on verbal abuse
- 34:37Speaker 3: but i love you and this is the right he's
- 34:41Speaker 3: like that guy where it's like god what do i
- 34:42Speaker 3: have to do to just get you to go away
- 34:45Speaker 3: and it's not fair or nice it's not it's not
- 34:48Speaker 3: deserved like russell wilson has done nothing but like be
- 34:51Speaker 3: the good guy who loves his wife and goes to
- 34:53Speaker 3: children's hospitals on the day that he gets cut. And
- 34:56Speaker 3: for some reason, no one wants them there. They find
- 35:00Speaker 3: them to be cringy. And that is on the field,
- 35:03Speaker 3: off the field. They don't want him. He dealt with
- 35:04Speaker 3: that in Denver. They didn't want him in Pittsburgh. They
- 35:07Speaker 3: don't want him in the Giants. And I feel like
- 35:09Speaker 3: for Russell Wilson, like I need him to be the
- 35:12Speaker 3: guy who is like shelled for a little bit. And
- 35:15Speaker 3: I need like him to become a little bit like
- 35:18Speaker 3: to take his villain turn. Like, I feel like this
- 35:20Speaker 3: is when Russell could take his villain turn and be like,
- 35:22Speaker 3: stop saying the right things. I'm going to support this
- 35:25Speaker 3: team in any way I can and be that guy.
- 35:27Speaker 3: That's like, cool. You want Jackson dart? Good luck. And
- 35:30Speaker 3: sit back with popcorn and watch because Russell Wilson, I
- 35:36Speaker 3: do not think has what it takes to be a
- 35:37Speaker 3: starting quarterback anymore. But people are mad at Russell Wilson
- 35:41Speaker 3: for still trying. And that to me is what's wild.
- 35:44Speaker 3: It's like, well, of course he's going to keep trying
- 35:47Speaker 3: to be a quarterback. It's not his fault that people
- 35:50Speaker 3: keep signing him, that people keep giving him historic money.
- 35:53Speaker 3: I'm looking at you, Denver, that people keep giving him opportunities,
- 35:56Speaker 3: but they're mad at him for it. And it's not
- 35:58Speaker 3: his fault. The guy's just doing his absolute best. And
- 36:00Speaker 3: I feel like this is like, hopefully when that tide
- 36:03Speaker 3: will turn for Russell Wilson, where someone is clamoring for him.
- 36:06Speaker 3: If Jackson Dart does that, and I have no idea
- 36:08Speaker 3: if they're going to bail on Jackson Dart or if
- 36:09Speaker 3: they're just going to say, this is our move and
- 36:11Speaker 3: we're sticking with the guy no matter what, because it
- 36:13Speaker 3: doesn't really matter. We're like one in 15 in our
- 36:15Speaker 3: last 16 games. But God, like I feel for Russell
- 36:18Speaker 3: Wilson at this point. And I don't know what inside
- 36:21Speaker 3: of him doesn't want to just let it go.
- 36:23Speaker 1: So let me ask you this. If he makes his
- 36:26Speaker 1: villain turn, is his villain turn coming all the way
- 36:30Speaker 1: over here or going all the way over there? Does
- 36:35Speaker 1: he start doing a podcast with Dr. Umar or does
- 36:39Speaker 1: he start doing a podcast with Sage Steel?
- 36:42Speaker 3: Okay, well, he is married to Ciara, so I'm going
- 36:44Speaker 3: to say he's much more likely to go Dr. Umar
- 36:47Speaker 3: route than he is the other one.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Right, but if he's going to go the full villain,
- 36:50Speaker 1: then go the full villain. You know what I'm saying?
- 36:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know that that's going to curry him
- 36:54Speaker 3: any favor in this Hollywood world.
- 36:56Speaker 6: I hear you, but also, I know a few things
- 37:00Speaker 6: about Ciara, but I don't know Ciara.
- 37:02Speaker 1: For all I know, them little kids might have had
- 37:04Speaker 1: a measles. You know what I'm saying?
- 37:05Speaker 2: I got no clue.
- 37:06Speaker 3: There he goes.
- 37:07Speaker 1: I'm just saying, I don't know.
- 37:09Speaker 2: I don't know what her get down is.
- 37:10Speaker 1: I don't know what she read on the internet. But
- 37:14Speaker 1: Russell Wilson has the potential to be many types of villains,
- 37:18Speaker 1: is all I'm saying.
- 37:19Speaker 3: He does.
- 37:19Speaker 1: He could choose one.
- 37:21Speaker 3: I was more thinking less political villain and more like
- 37:23Speaker 3: an Aqib Tlaib.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Oh, yes, that's what I'm saying. See, that would be
- 37:29Speaker 1: interesting because I guarantee you, I don't know if you've
- 37:31Speaker 1: ever seen the Russell Wilson hand measurement from the combine.
- 37:33Speaker 1: You don't want to fight that man. Like when there
- 37:35Speaker 1: used to be a thing on the internet when people
- 37:37Speaker 1: used to talk about how the idea of future and
- 37:40Speaker 1: Russell Wilson fighting.
- 37:41Speaker 3: Hey, man.
- 37:42Speaker 1: The future would be to feed a pass if he
- 37:45Speaker 1: decided to square up with Russell Wilson. Russell Wilson would
- 37:47Speaker 1: be dog shit out of that boy, especially with him
- 37:49Speaker 1: taking all them drugs.
- 37:52Speaker 3: I was going to say, future would probably have a
- 37:54Speaker 3: total lack of self-awareness of where he is. You get
- 37:57Speaker 3: him after he's been doing a studio session.
- 38:00Speaker 1: I believe it.
- 38:00Speaker 3: He's also thin and he's tall. And I think Russell
- 38:03Speaker 3: could take him for sure. But that's what I'm saying.
- 38:06Speaker 3: I need to see him. I just, like, why not?
- 38:08Speaker 3: What do you have to lose, Russ? Like, go out
- 38:11Speaker 3: just being a total dick. I want him to, like,
- 38:14Speaker 3: I want him to become Aaron Rodgers. Like, I want
- 38:16Speaker 3: him to be like, I'm not here to help Jackson
- 38:18Speaker 3: dark that guy. Like, I want him to be a
- 38:21Speaker 3: villain because they still don't like you. They don't like
- 38:23Speaker 3: Boy Scout version of you. They don't like any version
- 38:25Speaker 3: of you. So why not just turn it on him
- 38:27Speaker 3: and just be a total asshole? That's what I would do.
- 38:29Speaker 1: Yo, but here's the thing about the Giants. They might
- 38:32Speaker 1: have to go back to him.
- 38:34Speaker 3: I know.
- 38:34Speaker 1: Like, this move.
- 38:37Speaker 1: I assume that when you make the quarterback change, the
- 38:40Speaker 1: coach typically, in my mind, like someone in the NBA,
- 38:43Speaker 1: for example, players decide when it's time for the coach
- 38:46Speaker 1: to go. Every now and then, the front office will
- 38:48Speaker 1: do it, but the players are going to be the
- 38:50Speaker 1: ones to let you know. Even if they don't fire
- 38:51Speaker 1: the coach, they let you know when it's time for
- 38:53Speaker 1: the coach to go. I think players also play a
- 38:55Speaker 1: big role in letting you know when the quarterback has
- 38:58Speaker 1: to go. Once the players are like, come on, man,
- 39:01Speaker 1: you know this dude ain't the best player, and you
- 39:03Speaker 1: can feel it in everybody around, okay, now you got
- 39:06Speaker 1: to make the move. For whatever reason, the players believe
- 39:08Speaker 1: that that guy is Jackson Darcy. But if Jackson Dart
- 39:11Speaker 1: is not that guy, are you just going to say,
- 39:14Speaker 1: fuck it, let's have.
- 39:14Speaker 2: A good time and go to Jameis?
- 39:16Speaker 1: Or are you going to maybe have to bring it
- 39:19Speaker 1: back to Russell Wilson, except everybody knows that ain't the group?
- 39:24Speaker 3: So you think I don't see a world where jamis
- 39:28Speaker 3: like i could see a world where they make up
- 39:30Speaker 3: a fake injury and jackson dart needs to be shelled
- 39:33Speaker 3: because he's you know got turf toe or something like
- 39:35Speaker 3: that not the turf does not real but and then
- 39:37Speaker 3: you would go to maybe jamis but i don't see
- 39:39Speaker 3: a world where you know your choice is to go
- 39:43Speaker 3: with jamis winston again like The Giants have done this
- 39:46Speaker 3: so wrong. They're watching Daniel Jones look like Joe Montana.
- 39:49Speaker 1: Yo, that's gotta hurt. That's gotta hurt.
- 39:52Speaker 2: Because it hurts me. And I ain't even got no
- 39:55Speaker 2: investment in this.
- 39:55Speaker 1: He's balling. Yeah, you're balling.
- 39:58Speaker 3: So they've done this wrong so many times. And I
- 40:01Speaker 3: think it always goes back, Bo, to the question that
- 40:02Speaker 3: we ask ourselves all the time. Do you ruin someone's
- 40:05Speaker 3: development if you yank them right away? What is psychologically,
- 40:09Speaker 3: how is Michael Penix going to feel Knowing that, yes,
- 40:12Speaker 3: he looked horrible against the Panthers, but their first solution
- 40:14Speaker 3: was to not even like in the game, the first
- 40:17Speaker 3: game that he looked like truly terrible to go right
- 40:19Speaker 3: to Kirk Cousins. Like, is that going to is he
- 40:21Speaker 3: always going to feel that guy over his shoulder? Is
- 40:24Speaker 3: that going to somehow impact him in his development? And
- 40:26Speaker 3: I think if you're the Giants, again, there's no expectation
- 40:29Speaker 3: that you're going to do not in a division with
- 40:31Speaker 3: the Eagles and not in a division with the Cowboys
- 40:33Speaker 3: that look absolutely horrible, but still are better than you. Um,
- 40:37Speaker 3: I think that like, if you're the giants, you got
- 40:39Speaker 3: to roll with this thing. If you make the decision
- 40:41Speaker 3: to go with Jackson dart, he got his, you know,
- 40:43Speaker 3: his O-line is healthier. Now, what I was hearing was
- 40:46Speaker 3: that they were waiting on their O-line to get healthy
- 40:48Speaker 3: so that they would put Jackson dart in the best
- 40:49Speaker 3: position again, just leaving Russell Wilson to the slaughter. Let's
- 40:53Speaker 3: give them the B team offensive line and see if
- 40:56Speaker 3: you can do okay. But I think you've got to
- 40:57Speaker 3: stay with the man. Like you have to, there's no
- 40:59Speaker 3: expectation for you to do anything this year. You got
- 41:02Speaker 3: to lose with the rookie and like, you got to
- 41:04Speaker 3: let them figure it out. That's my estimation. But again,
- 41:07Speaker 3: it's the giants and they are undefeated at doing the
- 41:09Speaker 3: wrong thing.
- 41:10Speaker 1: I will propose a question about Jackson dart that I
- 41:13Speaker 1: saw my good buddy, Shannon pin a place on the internet,
- 41:17Speaker 1: which is who will be the first defensive player. To
- 41:22Speaker 1: snatch that chain off his neck. Have you seen that
- 41:23Speaker 1: chain that Jackson Dart been wearing to games?
- 41:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I've seen the chain.
- 41:26Speaker 1: He is out there.
- 41:28Speaker 2: And I just want to throw this out there for people.
- 41:30Speaker 1: Jackson Dart is from, I got it on the screen
- 41:33Speaker 1: right here, Kaysville, Utah. Oh. Yes.
- 41:38Speaker 3: Where that?
- 41:40Speaker 2: It is in Utah, in the north part.
- 41:45Speaker 4: Oh.
- 41:46Speaker 3: So is that almost Idaho? Oh, God, my geography skills.
- 41:49Speaker 1: Are not great. I'm going to be honest with you.
- 41:52Speaker 1: It's all the same to me over there. You know
- 41:55Speaker 1: what I'm saying? Like, like if ain't no state line,
- 41:58Speaker 1: you ain't going to know. You know what I mean?
- 42:00Speaker 1: But he, I want to know like when he decided
- 42:03Speaker 1: that the chain gang was going to be him. So
- 42:05Speaker 1: he started at USC and then he went to Ole Miss.
- 42:08Speaker 1: Like perhaps has he been radicalized? I've never heard him talk,
- 42:11Speaker 1: but he seemed to have a swag that his fellow
- 42:14Speaker 1: Utah and Zach Wilson did not have. Like you remember
- 42:16Speaker 1: when Zach Wilson was at the draft and the boys
- 42:18Speaker 1: was all dapping up around him and he looked like
- 42:20Speaker 1: he was on a scare straight special. Like he looked like,
- 42:24Speaker 1: what if I, like, I'll be, I'll be, I'll be good. Like,
- 42:27Speaker 1: let me go back to where I was. I promise
- 42:29Speaker 1: I'll be good. Jackson Dart got that chain. And so Shannon,
- 42:32Speaker 1: like who's going to be the first person to snatch
- 42:34Speaker 1: that chain off his neck?
- 42:35Speaker 3: Well, I'm looking at the Giants schedule and I'm like,
- 42:38Speaker 3: the Chargers, you can see Khalil Mack taking that thing.
- 42:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:43Speaker 3: The Saints, I don't know enough Saints players.
- 42:46Speaker 1: But the Saints are losing so much, they got to
- 42:48Speaker 1: win something. And my thing is this, man, is one
- 42:50Speaker 1: thing to leave snatch Crabtree's chain, not to take his chain,
- 42:54Speaker 1: but just because he thought he didn't deserve to have
- 42:56Speaker 1: a chain. Like he snatched his chain and left it
- 42:58Speaker 1: on the field. In my day, I feel like it
- 43:00Speaker 1: was Moe Katz that would have been snatched his chain
- 43:03Speaker 1: and kept it.
- 43:04Speaker 2: Yes. Would have sold it back to him.
- 43:08Speaker 3: So not gone the pawn shop route. Could you imagine
- 43:11Speaker 3: like walking in and trying to pawn off a chain
- 43:13Speaker 3: that you snatched from an NFL game? Is this yours? Yeah.
- 43:19Speaker 3: Why does it say Zach Wilson on it?
- 43:21Speaker 1: Imagine having to go after the game to put in
- 43:24Speaker 1: a police report so that the pawn shop unit would
- 43:27Speaker 1: be able to keep an eye out. for your chain, right?
- 43:30Speaker 1: After that thing has been snatched. You poison these chains.
- 43:32Speaker 1: I am surprised that we don't see just more like,
- 43:35Speaker 1: hating ass chain snatching because I had uh I had
- 43:38Speaker 1: looked at Jackson Dart's chain and um I said to
- 43:41Speaker 1: someone I would leave nameless I was like hey man
- 43:43Speaker 1: if you wear that chain on the street he better
- 43:45Speaker 1: have a gun he begging to get robbed to which
- 43:47Speaker 1: the response was he's from Utah and played college football
- 43:49Speaker 1: in Mississippi and you think he don't got no gun
- 43:52Speaker 1: right this is to your point but I feel like
- 43:54Speaker 1: that tells me he got like a far away gun
- 43:57Speaker 1: I don't know if he got like a walk around
- 43:59Speaker 1: piece Oh, no, he definitely has.
- 44:01Speaker 3: A concealed weapon. That's like a rite of passage when
- 44:03Speaker 3: you come from those places. You're like, you get your
- 44:05Speaker 3: first shot, baby's first shotgun, and then baby's first concealed weapon.
- 44:09Speaker 3: That's how they do it.
- 44:09Speaker 4: That's right.
- 44:10Speaker 1: What was that magazine you was in?
- 44:12Speaker 3: Garden and Guns.
- 44:13Speaker 2: Garden and Guns.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Elle posted this on the internet. She did an interview
- 44:17Speaker 1: or a spread or whatever for a magazine, I bullshit you.
- 44:19Speaker 2: Not, called Garden and Guns.
- 44:21Speaker 1: And I had to call Elle and say, does that
- 44:24Speaker 1: magazine say Garden and Guns? Yep.
- 44:27Speaker 3: Two most important things to any Southern woman's life. You
- 44:30Speaker 3: got your garden and you got your gun, baby.
- 44:33Speaker 1: We're good. No, that is the... So when Texas went
- 44:38Speaker 1: to its concealed weapon law, the woman that was really
- 44:43Speaker 1: behind it, I don't know if you guys remember, this
- 44:45Speaker 1: is obviously a terrible story, but one day somebody drove
- 44:47Speaker 1: a car through the window of a Luby's cafeteria in Killeen,
- 44:49Speaker 1: Texas and shot the place up. They killed like 20-something
- 44:52Speaker 1: people before killing himself. But one of the women who
- 44:55Speaker 1: was there She went to her purse, but she didn't
- 44:58Speaker 1: have her gun in her purse. And that was the
- 45:01Speaker 1: narrative that was used to get the concealed weapon game
- 45:04Speaker 1: opened up in Texas. But what I found so interesting
- 45:06Speaker 1: about the story was, as I recall, she went for
- 45:09Speaker 1: the gun and didn't have it. Not, I didn't have
- 45:12Speaker 1: my gun because I wasn't allowed to bring it. She
- 45:14Speaker 1: was going to be in there with the tool. Sure.
- 45:16Speaker 2: She was like, I'm going to have it.
- 45:18Speaker 1: The tool was going to be had.
- 45:19Speaker 3: Yeah, we're just going to answer questions later. I mean,
- 45:21Speaker 3: when I first got my gun, when I lived in Georgia,
- 45:23Speaker 3: I was dealing with a bit of a stalker sitch. And, um,
- 45:26Speaker 3: so I had never shot a gun before. I'd never
- 45:28Speaker 3: held a gun before. I'd never loaded a gun before.
- 45:30Speaker 3: And I go to wild bills down in Buckhead, which
- 45:34Speaker 3: I believe is still there. And it's very famous in
- 45:36Speaker 3: Georgia for guns. And I walk in and I'm nervous
- 45:39Speaker 3: and I'm scared. And I'm like, I need to purchase
- 45:41Speaker 3: a gun, you know? And I'm thinking like, I'm going
- 45:44Speaker 3: to get the fifth degree. And they're just like, what
- 45:45Speaker 3: kind of gun? I was like, I don't know. I've
- 45:47Speaker 3: never shot a gun before. And they were like, Well, uh,
- 45:50Speaker 3: we got, you know, uh, I think a 38 revolver
- 45:52Speaker 3: is going to be best for you. Now, if you
- 45:54Speaker 3: want to keep this thing in your purse, you're going
- 45:56Speaker 3: to want to get the one with no safety on it. Uh, and, uh,
- 45:59Speaker 3: because sometimes it can get snagged on a perch. And, uh,
- 46:02Speaker 3: so we're going to go ahead and get you this one.
- 46:03Speaker 3: I was like, all right. And they were like, and yeah,
- 46:06Speaker 3: you need some bullets. I was like, yes. And so
- 46:08Speaker 3: they hand me the gun, they hand me the bullets
- 46:11Speaker 3: and I'm like, I don't know how to load this.
- 46:13Speaker 3: And they're like, cool, we'll show you loads it up.
- 46:16Speaker 3: And I was like, is that all? And they're like, yeah, just,
- 46:19Speaker 3: you know, give us your license. We're going to do
- 46:21Speaker 3: a background check. And within 15 minutes I had a
- 46:25Speaker 3: gun and I was like, okay, well, I don't know
- 46:27Speaker 3: any of the rules. Like, where am I allowed to
- 46:29Speaker 3: take the gun? And they were like, well, unless you
- 46:30Speaker 3: get a concealed carry permit, you can only keep the gun.
- 46:34Speaker 3: at your house. And I was like, oh, okay, well,
- 46:36Speaker 3: that doesn't really help me. I'm out all the time.
- 46:38Speaker 3: I'm going to have to get this concealed carry permit.
- 46:41Speaker 3: And then he looks at me and he goes, however,
- 46:43Speaker 3: because of Georgia laws, your house has some extensions. Your
- 46:48Speaker 3: car is an extension of your house and your work
- 46:51Speaker 3: is an extension of your house. And I was like,
- 46:53Speaker 3: so wait, so I can take it in my car
- 46:56Speaker 3: and also into work? And they were like, yes, you can.
- 46:58Speaker 3: I was like, well, hell, okay. And it was just
- 47:03Speaker 3: completely wild to me that in georgia you didn't have
- 47:06Speaker 3: to have a concealed carry permit because everything is apparently
- 47:09Speaker 3: an extension of your home when you can carry it
- 47:11Speaker 3: anyway so yeah man like it's real i don't know
- 47:14Speaker 3: where the point of that story was going other than
- 47:16Speaker 3: to be like guys yeah it's kind of wild it's
- 47:18Speaker 3: kind of unbelievable that you can literally walk in with
- 47:21Speaker 3: no gun acumen and walk out with a killing gun
- 47:23Speaker 3: within like 25 minutes.
- 47:25Speaker 1: And by the way i was wrong the woman um
- 47:27Speaker 1: her gun was in the car She was there and
- 47:30Speaker 1: her parents got killed. And she said she would have
- 47:32Speaker 1: liked to have had her gun, but she thought she
- 47:35Speaker 1: might lose her chiropractor's license. So she left it in
- 47:37Speaker 1: the car. And with all due respect, ma'am, I don't
- 47:41Speaker 1: know what you think you were about to have done.
- 47:43Speaker 3: I'm not sure what you thought was going to happen.
- 47:46Speaker 3: Everybody is always a hero in their mind until they're
- 47:48Speaker 3: in that situation.
- 47:49Speaker 1: It's not just that the movies make you think that
- 47:52Speaker 1: anybody could be John McClane. It's not that. It's that
- 47:54Speaker 1: the movies have all these scenes of unassuming people who
- 47:57Speaker 1: out of nowhere wobbly hold a gun and shoot somebody
- 48:00Speaker 1: and make the big kill as opposed to hitting themselves
- 48:02Speaker 1: in the face with their pistols.
- 48:05Speaker 3: That recoil is a bitch.
- 48:08Speaker 1: Like the idea, I think this is an underrated part
- 48:10Speaker 1: about the gun. First of all, guns are a wild
- 48:14Speaker 1: piece of engineering when you stop and think about it.
- 48:16Speaker 1: You can just hold a killing machine in your hand, right?
- 48:19Speaker 1: But the idea that you have to learn how to
- 48:21Speaker 1: shoot a gun tells you how much power we're really
- 48:23Speaker 1: talking about.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Because it looks pretty simple to me.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Point and shoot. Like a camera. But it's not like
- 48:29Speaker 1: a camera at all.
- 48:30Speaker 3: Not at all.
- 48:31Speaker 1: Not at all.
- 48:31Speaker 3: And I got a revolver because it was the easiest
- 48:33Speaker 3: to load, right? You didn't have to deal with clips
- 48:34Speaker 3: and things like that. And I did obviously learn how
- 48:36Speaker 3: to shoot once I got my gun. I took some
- 48:37Speaker 3: training and whatnot. But yeah, that kickback, depending on how
- 48:41Speaker 3: big the gun is, that's what you don't. And what
- 48:43Speaker 3: really you don't prepare for is when it gets jammed.
- 48:46Speaker 3: And then you're really in a precarious situation. That's how
- 48:49Speaker 3: most people end up shooting themselves. The gun jams and
- 48:51Speaker 3: you don't know how to appropriately take it apart. I
- 48:53Speaker 3: love the Bomani show because the right time, it's always
- 48:56Speaker 3: the right time to even get into gun conversation.
- 48:59Speaker 1: It is.
- 48:59Speaker 3: That's my favorite thing about this. We started out talking
- 49:01Speaker 3: about football, and now we're here at guns.
- 49:03Speaker 1: I love that you trust me enough to know that
- 49:06Speaker 1: you can go to the gun place, and I'm going
- 49:08Speaker 1: to keep us all safe no matter what. You know
- 49:10Speaker 1: what I'm saying? Wherever it goes, if it was a problem,
- 49:14Speaker 1: I'd have shut it down. But it's not a problem,
- 49:16Speaker 1: so I'm going to keep us all safe, and I
- 49:18Speaker 1: love that you know that like, I am going to
- 49:22Speaker 1: keep you safe.
- 49:22Speaker 2: I want to run this one thing by you right fast.
- 49:25Speaker 1: Um, we got Baltimore and Kansas city and you know,
- 49:29Speaker 1: black quarterback situation. We got enough black quarterbacks out here
- 49:32Speaker 1: that I ain't got to root for them all. But
- 49:34Speaker 1: it dawned on me last week when my Lions were
- 49:37Speaker 1: playing against Baltimore, it hadn't dawned on me that since
- 49:39Speaker 1: I had picked up a team, that meant that every
- 49:41Speaker 1: now and then I was going to have to root
- 49:42Speaker 1: against Lamar.
- 49:44Speaker 2: Cause like, that's not really what I do.
- 49:45Speaker 1: Like I feel like in a lot of ways he
- 49:47Speaker 1: need us to stand by him, but now it's not
- 49:49Speaker 1: just that it's Lamar and Mahomes is that they both
- 49:52Speaker 1: really need the dub.
- 49:54Speaker 3: Yeah. It's unbelievable to think that after this weekend, one
- 49:57Speaker 3: of those teams is going to be one in three.
- 49:59Speaker 4: Right.
- 50:00Speaker 3: Like that's wild.
- 50:01Speaker 1: Do you have, by the way, do you have.
- 50:02Speaker 3: A, a black quarterback ranking support chart? Like who you
- 50:06Speaker 3: support the most? I imagine that you do. And I
- 50:10Speaker 3: imagine that I know some of the characteristics that go
- 50:12Speaker 3: into why you support. So like, cause there's 16 now, right?
- 50:14Speaker 1: 16. It's a lot. It's a lot. Like we got,
- 50:18Speaker 1: you know, It's getting harder and harder to explain to
- 50:21Speaker 1: these white folks that there is still racism out here.
- 50:23Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Like, not to say that
- 50:25Speaker 1: this is proof that it's not, but just to say
- 50:27Speaker 1: that white people got a low threshold. So it becomes
- 50:30Speaker 1: very difficult to explain this. Lamar is still very high
- 50:34Speaker 1: up on this, right? Except... Hey, man, there's a lot
- 50:39Speaker 1: of fair criticism to be made. And in order to
- 50:41Speaker 1: do this properly, we got to be honest about the
- 50:43Speaker 1: fact that y'all can't keep coming apart late. And you
- 50:46Speaker 1: may not be the reason that y'all lose these games,
- 50:48Speaker 1: but you're also not the reason that y'all win these games. Right. Mahomes,
- 50:54Speaker 1: I actually feel like he don't need our support, but
- 50:56Speaker 1: he has earned it. Sure. You know, and look, Josh
- 50:59Speaker 1: Allen is that dude right now, but I still feel
- 51:02Speaker 1: like it's been a lot of effort to tiger-proof the NFL,
- 51:05Speaker 1: at least in people's minds, to downplay the glory and
- 51:08Speaker 1: the greatness of the best quarterback that I've ever seen.
- 51:10Speaker 1: He kind of need us. I think we need to
- 51:11Speaker 1: keep something extra in the clip for Jordan Love. because
- 51:16Speaker 1: he got the chance to be that dude. But the
- 51:18Speaker 1: last time I looked in Green Bay, well, I think
- 51:20Speaker 1: they still got Malik Willis, but there was a year
- 51:23Speaker 1: where they didn't have a black up for him. And
- 51:25Speaker 1: that made me feel like they wouldn't really invest it.
- 51:28Speaker 1: But now that they got a black up, a black
- 51:29Speaker 1: up named Malik, no less, I feel a lot better
- 51:32Speaker 1: about where they are and how they're supporting him. I'm
- 51:36Speaker 1: really there for Geno Smith because I just feel like
- 51:38Speaker 1: he's the only man that's ever been blamed for somebody
- 51:40Speaker 1: sucker punching him. Yes. You know what I'm saying? And
- 51:43Speaker 1: then he came back, and he made it happen, and
- 51:45Speaker 1: he became that dude, and he played for Bums.
- 51:47Speaker 2: He need us.
- 51:49Speaker 3: I'm going to make a horrible comparison. Geno Smith, to me,
- 51:55Speaker 3: a little bit, is becoming like the quarterback version of
- 52:01Speaker 3: Marvin Lewis.
- 52:05Speaker 1: Keep going. Where.
- 52:07Speaker 3: I supported Marvin Lewis for so long because I thought
- 52:10Speaker 3: he was a really good coach. And obviously I felt like,
- 52:11Speaker 3: you know, with black coaches, they're held to a different
- 52:13Speaker 3: standard and all the stuff that we already know. But
- 52:17Speaker 3: then it got to a point where it was like, oh,
- 52:18Speaker 3: you've had so many chances.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Oh, but that don't count for Gino. Gino ain't had
- 52:24Speaker 1: all these chances though. He's had, he's.
- 52:27Speaker 2: Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.
- 52:28Speaker 3: He's had, no, he's had chances. I'm just saying like
- 52:32Speaker 3: he's had enough chances. That if there was going to
- 52:35Speaker 3: be some big sort of leap into being a championship
- 52:38Speaker 3: caliber quarterback, I feel like we would have seen it
- 52:40Speaker 3: by now.
- 52:40Speaker 1: He's got chances. Okay, so no. He got that first
- 52:43Speaker 1: chance with the Jets that wasn't really a chance. Okay.
- 52:46Speaker 1: Then the Giants teased him with a chance. Sure.
- 52:50Speaker 2: And when he got to play one game, they fired
- 52:52Speaker 2: the coach for it.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Right. He made his backup moves. He got to Seattle
- 52:57Speaker 1: and he he was doing well. Right. He did well.
- 52:59Speaker 1: And now he's in this new place because Seattle just
- 53:02Speaker 1: didn't want to pay him. I feel like he is
- 53:05Speaker 1: more of a twice as hard poster boy that he
- 53:08Speaker 1: is a you have had all night at Russell Wilson.
- 53:12Speaker 1: That boy, he has Justin Fields. Yeah, he's had.
- 53:15Speaker 2: We can make the you had chances argument.
- 53:17Speaker 3: I'm not with you on Justin Fields, though. I'm not
- 53:19Speaker 3: with you on Justin Fields. I think that he has
- 53:22Speaker 3: not had any. Russell Wilson that we're seeing right now
- 53:25Speaker 3: is the same Russell Wilson we saw glimpses of in Seattle.
- 53:27Speaker 3: It's why Seattle was snickering when they traded him to
- 53:31Speaker 3: the Broncos and the Broncos gave him $ 150 million. They
- 53:33Speaker 3: were like, we're seeing that same guy. through the course
- 53:37Speaker 3: of three different teams. But with Justin Fields, if at
- 53:39Speaker 3: the very beginning of Russell Wilson's career, he had a
- 53:43Speaker 3: different coordinator every single year. Like, I don't think that
- 53:46Speaker 3: Justin Fields has been given the benefit of time and maturation.
- 53:50Speaker 3: I don't like, I think I, I'm not saying Justin
- 53:52Speaker 3: Fields is ever going to be a championship caliber quarterback.
- 53:56Speaker 3: I'm just saying that, that he has not been in situations.
- 53:59Speaker 3: He wasn't that bad last year for the Steelers when
- 54:02Speaker 3: they decided to move on and go to Russell Wilson
- 54:04Speaker 3: for no other reason than they just thought, this is
- 54:07Speaker 3: just okay and let's choose another. Let's just see. It's
- 54:10Speaker 3: the same thing that the Giants are doing right now.
- 54:11Speaker 3: I don't think that he's had an opportunity in the
- 54:13Speaker 3: right system with consistency of coordinator and consistency of weapons
- 54:17Speaker 3: to show what he can do. I don't. I don't
- 54:19Speaker 3: feel that way.
- 54:20Speaker 1: Are you just feeling a little bit guilty because your
- 54:22Speaker 1: team decided that he would rather play Jake Fromm than
- 54:25Speaker 1: to play Justin Fields? There's a part of that, too.
- 54:26Speaker 1: Are you serious? They're just the twins of Georgia being Georgia?
- 54:32Speaker 3: A little bit, yeah. But you know what? Ultimately, I
- 54:36Speaker 3: think that when it comes to black quarterbacks, while we've
- 54:39Speaker 3: obviously grown quite a bit and there's a bunch of
- 54:41Speaker 3: them that are starting, they're still held to a standard like,
- 54:44Speaker 3: What else can Jalen Hurts do to show you guys
- 54:46Speaker 3: he's a top 10 quarterback? That conversation is tiresome too.
- 54:52Speaker 3: Anybody else in his position that is done and see,
- 54:56Speaker 3: you're obviously one of those guys. And I'm like, I
- 54:58Speaker 3: don't like, listen, I'm not saying- then in a fucking
- 55:01Speaker 3: one-on-one competition with Patrick Mahomes, I'm going to choose Jalen Hurts.
- 55:04Speaker 3: But to act like this dude is strictly a system
- 55:06Speaker 3: quarterback and he's only benefiting from Saquon Barkley or their
- 55:10Speaker 3: great run game or from a fantastic offensive line, I
- 55:12Speaker 3: just think diminishes a little bit what Jalen Hurts does.
- 55:14Speaker 3: I'm rooting for Jalen Hurts for that reason alone.
- 55:16Speaker 1: I will just say this about Jalen Hurts. I made
- 55:19Speaker 1: the point, I think, last week about Joe Burrow. that
- 55:22Speaker 1: I've only seen Joe Burrow be excellent in the presence
- 55:25Speaker 1: of surrounding excellence. And it's not his fault because not
- 55:28Speaker 1: everybody does that, right? But Joe Burrow in LSU with
- 55:30Speaker 1: Hall of Fame wide receivers, and he got one of
- 55:32Speaker 1: them to come with him to Cincinnati, wound up on
- 55:34Speaker 1: the same team. That's when I've seen Joe Burrow be
- 55:36Speaker 1: that guy. I can make the same exact argument about
- 55:39Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts, but when I have seen Jalen Hurts while
- 55:42Speaker 1: surrounded by adventures, he does not look like no Joe Burrow.
- 55:45Speaker 1: That's all I'm saying. That's all I'm saying.
- 55:48Speaker 4: Fair.
- 55:48Speaker 3: And again, I'm not saying that he is Joe Burrow.
- 55:52Speaker 3: I think Joe Burrow is a top five quarterback talent.
- 55:55Speaker 3: But to say that Jalen Hurts isn't even top 10,
- 55:58Speaker 3: I just don't understand what exactly it is that we're
- 56:01Speaker 3: judging or looking at when it comes to results, when
- 56:03Speaker 3: it comes to fit, when it comes to the ability
- 56:06Speaker 3: to extend plays. No, he's not one-on-one. But guess what?
- 56:10Speaker 3: He's experienced a whole hell of a lot more success
- 56:12Speaker 3: than Joe Burrow has.
- 56:13Speaker 1: He has.
- 56:14Speaker 3: A ton more. Because all Joe Burrow has is every
- 56:16Speaker 3: single record but no Super Bowls.
- 56:20Speaker 1: Here's what I say about Jalen Hurst that I think
- 56:22Speaker 1: is very interesting. He is a guy that has all
- 56:27Speaker 1: of the leader guy qualifications.
- 56:30Speaker 2: And I don't mean that dismissively. I mean that literally, right?
- 56:33Speaker 1: Like he's the guy that you want out front and
- 56:36Speaker 1: he is just good enough that he can unlock the
- 56:40Speaker 1: benefits of being that guy, right? Because if you are
- 56:44Speaker 1: that guy and have all those characteristics and you can't
- 56:46Speaker 1: play It doesn't matter. Jameis Winston is a great example
- 56:49Speaker 1: of that, who's got all the leader stuff, but he's
- 56:52Speaker 1: not good enough to where that can take you over
- 56:54Speaker 1: the top.
- 56:55Speaker 2: Hurts is just good.
- 56:57Speaker 1: Enough with the teams that he's got that you then
- 56:59Speaker 1: get like this turbo boost from the fact that he
- 57:02Speaker 1: is the guy that you want out front. Because let's
- 57:04Speaker 1: be honest, that coach they got, don't nobody want him
- 57:06Speaker 1: in charge of nothing. I don't care what nobody say.
- 57:09Speaker 1: If it's coming down to following him or following Jalen Hurts,
- 57:12Speaker 1: you're going to follow Jalen Hurts. Like, that's where I
- 57:16Speaker 1: give him the credit, and I can't. He's been to
- 57:19Speaker 1: the Super Bowl twice. They've won one. You can't take
- 57:22Speaker 1: any of those things away from him, and that's just
- 57:24Speaker 1: going to have to be good enough for him.
- 57:27Speaker 3: By the way, speaking of Nick Sirianni, do you ever
- 57:29Speaker 3: watch South Park?
- 57:30Speaker 4: Yes.
- 57:32Speaker 3: Every time I see Nick Sirianni, the first image that
- 57:35Speaker 3: pops into my head is Mr. Towley.
- 57:38Speaker 1: Is that okay? Is that him?
- 57:40Speaker 3: No, that's the towel that gets high and is like,
- 57:44Speaker 3: I have no idea what's going on.
- 57:45Speaker 1: That's all I hear.
- 57:47Speaker 3: Every time they show him on the sideline, I just hear,
- 57:50Speaker 3: I have no idea what's going on.
- 57:52Speaker 1: I was so sure that they were going to fire
- 57:54Speaker 1: that man last year just because he gives off fire
- 57:57Speaker 1: me vibes. They have won 19 out of 20 games.
- 57:59Speaker 2: Correct.
- 57:59Speaker 1: Yes.
- 58:04Speaker 3: And that man was on the hot seat entering last season.
- 58:06Speaker 3: I mean, they did have a pretty epic collapse before
- 58:08Speaker 3: last season, but yes, he was on the hot seat.
- 58:10Speaker 3: And to think the run that they've been on, man,
- 58:12Speaker 3: they must love him because they certainly kept his job.
- 58:13Speaker 2: I got news for you. He'll be on the hot
- 58:16Speaker 2: seat forever.
- 58:17Speaker 1: That is a guy. you're not going to tell me
- 58:19Speaker 1: that they don't change their mind about him. They just
- 58:21Speaker 1: won more games. Like if it came down to who
- 58:23Speaker 1: we got to, we got to keep Jalen Hurts or
- 58:25Speaker 1: we got to keep Sirianni, I'm keeping Jalen Hurts every
- 58:28Speaker 1: single time.
- 58:28Speaker 3: Well, for sure. He does give big fire me energy.
- 58:31Speaker 3: He does. There's a few dudes whose faces are just like,
- 58:34Speaker 3: they give like pick me, fire me energy. And yeah,
- 58:36Speaker 3: you're right. He's one of them.
- 58:37Speaker 1: He strikes me as a guy where somebody asks you, right,
- 58:40Speaker 1: so what makes him good at his job? And they'd
- 58:41Speaker 1: be like, man, what you got to understand, man, is
- 58:43Speaker 1: he cool as hell.
- 58:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 58:45Speaker 1: I always feel like I can go talk to him. Like, oh, word.
- 58:49Speaker 3: What else?
- 58:51Speaker 1: That's what we talk about. Let me tell you this, too.
- 58:52Speaker 1: I don't care if they just won a Super Bowl
- 58:53Speaker 1: or not. We're this close to A.J. Brown losing his
- 58:57Speaker 1: goddamn mind and being out there reading books again.
- 58:59Speaker 3: Oh, my God, bro. I feel like we keep having
- 59:02Speaker 3: sort of these interactions between Andy reed and travis kelsey
- 59:05Speaker 3: i'm just waiting on our aj brown versus nick sirianni
- 59:08Speaker 3: moment because it's coming.
- 59:10Speaker 1: So that's the thing it's not gonna be with jalen
- 59:12Speaker 1: hurts cats rock with him a little bit too tough
- 59:14Speaker 1: it looks like he going straight to nick sirianni even
- 59:18Speaker 1: if it's about jalen hurts 100%. He going straight to
- 59:21Speaker 1: Sirianni like, yo, so what's up with the ball, homie?
- 59:24Speaker 1: And that's one thing. When you got two good receivers
- 59:26Speaker 1: that ain't getting the ball as much as they're supposed to,
- 59:28Speaker 1: Devontae Smith seemed like he a play it cool type,
- 59:31Speaker 1: you feel me?
- 59:31Speaker 2: But at the same time, he's a short football player.
- 59:34Speaker 2: We know they all got attitude.
- 59:36Speaker 3: Absolutely. They want the ball.
- 59:37Speaker 2: They all got attitude. Jalen, hey, I give this up
- 59:40Speaker 2: to Devontae Smith.
- 59:42Speaker 1: He has... He gives all the little guy without giving
- 59:45Speaker 1: any of the little guy. He reminds me of this
- 59:47Speaker 1: one receiver that used to wear blue and number 88.
- 59:50Speaker 1: In terms of the way he plays, I would never
- 59:53Speaker 1: say that dude's name out here. I hear he got
- 59:55Speaker 1: a son that played for Arizona, but I don't really know.
- 59:58Speaker 1: You know what I'm talking about, right? We're going to
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: be good about that. But something about what had Devontae
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: Smith seemed like, oh, he played cool. On the other hand,
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: I bet he will go awful young.
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I could see it. He doesn't give like small
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: man energy, like you said, but he's already doing things
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: like calling out security guards. So this feels like a
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: little bit of a ramp up. First it's a security guard.
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: Then it's something about the strength and conditioning coach. And
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: before you know it, it's an all out assault on
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: one of his teammates. Yeah.
- 1:00:25Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: He is also from South Louisiana and he looked like
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: a dude from South Louisiana. And you just need to
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: lead them dudes B. But if a dude is six foot,
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: 170 pounds playing NFL football, trust me. Is it in you? Yes, 100%.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: It is. I'm going to ask you one last thing
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: before we get out of here. We had somebody leave
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: a voicemail earlier this week. I referred to Anthony Edwards
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: as being the most Atlanta dude possible, and the caller
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: asked me to define what it means to be an
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: Atlanta dude in that context, and I struggled to put
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: it into words. Do you have any words for this?
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: Oh, my God. It's always really tough because people have
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: said this to me when people will comment, like, she's
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: so Atlanta, and someone will be like, what does that
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: even mean? And I'm like, it's... It's sort of like
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: a state of mind, if you will. It's your ability
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: to be equal parts businesswoman, businessman, and also ratchet. It's
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: your ability to say what is on your mind at
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: all times, all the time, no filter, no censorship whatsoever.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: But I think more than anything, it's just a feeling, Beau.
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: You can't describe what it means to feel pure joy.
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: And you can't describe what it means to be Atlanta.
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: You just recognize that shit when you see it. And
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: Anthony Edwards is incredibly Atlanta. Cause here's the thing. There
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: are Atlanta luminaries that are not actually from Atlanta. So
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: I've heard people will be like, you know, like I'm
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: not from the city of Atlanta. I'm from the burbs
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: from Marietta and powder Springs, Georgia.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: And I moved into the city when I started doing
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: hip hop radio at 21 years old. And I lived
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: there for 10 years before I ultimately moved away to
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: Boston and And so some of my formative years, you know,
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: became more Atlanta when I moved into the city. But
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: like when I hear people be like, man, Quavo, he's
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: so Atlanta. I'm like, Quavo's like me. He's from out
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: from Lawrenceville. That ain't Atlanta. That's the Burbs, bro. That's
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: the Burbs.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: So I, yeah.
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: So, or when people say like Jalen Brown, I'm like,
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: he's from Marietta.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: Nah, nah.
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: I think he went to like Pope.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: What I think of somebody being like very Atlanta and
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Anthony Edwards, this is the phrase I imagine him telling
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: somebody in response to something. That's what I was trying
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: to tell you. The thing about the Atlanta dudes, Atlanta
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: dudes operate under this premise.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: Don't act like you don't understand what I'm talking about.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: It is the decision that this code switching will be
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: minimal because, and I abide by this wholly myself, stop
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: acting like you don't know what I mean. You understand
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: what I'm talking about.
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: You feel me?
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: You knew exactly what I meant when I said that.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: You know what I'm talking about? You feel me? You
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: feel me, bruh?
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: I worked with a dude that is the most Atlanta
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: person I've ever met. His name is Little Bankhead. It's
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: not little, it's little. And he is a radio personality
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: still in Atlanta. Shout out to Little Bankhead. And I've
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: never met anyone more Atlanta in my entire life. Like
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: he claims that he's the person that coined the phrase
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: going ham. He claims that he's the one that coined
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: that phrase many, many years ago. But he's talking to
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: him is it's like a caricature version of an Atlanta person.
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: You know, he's definitely that person that still says things like,
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: you know, You keep on talking, you finna get your
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: goddamn wig split. You know what I.
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: Mean?
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: Everything, got down is, bookends every sentence. So, got down, man. Man,
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: these bitches be all on me, got down.
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: That is very Atlanta-istic. 100%.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: Yeah, the bookend with got down.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: And yeah, so like when I think of Atlanta people,
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: like it's just, it's a little bit of that, but
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: it also can be, you know, Andrea Carter is from
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: Atlanta and we have very similar music tastes and we
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: always say it's because we're from Atlanta. So like, yes,
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: we can do some Pussycat Dolls and some Britney Spears,
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: but then also Ying Yang Twins and Future. And like,
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: I think it's just sort of all encompassing because while
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: Atlanta is dubbed Black Hollywood, it is incredibly diverse. And
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: I think that that's the cool part is that you
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: just get little Little pieces from wherever you are. But yes,
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: Anthony Edwards stands among them. He's our champ.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: This is where I'm going to ask people to jump
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: in on the voicemail line. Everybody knows somebody that swear
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: they invented a phrase or they coined one. I got one.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: I believe that using cape as a verb to describe
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: someone putting on his cape and coming to save the day.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: I firmly believe I did that. You started caping?
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: I did.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: Probably not. But I feel I don't feel like I
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: heard nobody else saying it before I did. Like every
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: now and then you got to go on Twitter and
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: search stuff. So like I call Trey Young Trey DeBarge.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: And I did not get this from anybody else. But
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: I searched on Twitter and I saw that before the
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: first time I had ever called him Trey DeBarge, other
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: people had called him Trey DeBarge. Right. Like we all
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: did come up with this together. I tell people all
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: the time, my advisor in graduate school is adamant that
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: he is the first person to ever call Barry White
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: the walrus of love. My brother believes that he is
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: the first person ever to use the phrase drop the
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: deuce to describe a bowel movement. I know for a
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: fact that I'm the reason y'all don't say that wide
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: receiver's name in the street. Like I know that started here,
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: but everybody got something that they like. Nah, nobody was
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: saying that before I was saying that.
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: Before I said it.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: We all know people like your man believes that he
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: invented going ham.
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: He will stand on that. He'll tell you no one
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: was using going ham until he started using going ham.
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: You are unequivocally- the orchestrator of Get Off That Narcotic,
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: which I will be wearing for the rest of my
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: life in any poor situation. That is 100% you and
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: I will give you that one. I don't know about
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: the other ones though. I don't know.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: I don't know, but look, I just, I don't like
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: trade a barge. I'm willing to share that with other people,
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: but I did come up with it by myself, even
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: if I was not the first person.
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: You should get credit for that. I'll think of something
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: and I'll think it's really clever and I'll do the
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: same thing. I'll like Twitter search it and I'll be like, shit,
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: a bunch of other people did. I'm still running with
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: it because it was conceived in my brain.
- 1:06:10Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: Organically and holistically. So I'm taking credit for it, period.
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: I know that I am the first and only person
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: ever on SportsCenter to describe someone celebrating too early as premature,
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: I'm jacked elation.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: Wow. I am amazed that they allowed you to do
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: that twice.
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: Well, allow is not exactly the word.
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: I'm a big fan of ask for forgiveness. But I definitely,
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: I did drop that on a sports center and it was,
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: it went exactly over like you thought that it would.
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: It was great.
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: But you know what? In part, I personally would not
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: want to be the person who told you that it
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: was inappropriate for it may appear that that person was
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: a bit defensive about the idea. It's not funny. You
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: may think that it's funny, but I'm telling you right now,
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: there's nothing funny about it. It's a thing that people
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: go through.
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: There's somebody up there.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Yeah, there's somebody up there that was just a little
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: bit too salty about it.
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: He was like, yo, bro, I didn't even think it
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: was that big a deal.
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: I thought it was a great play on words.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: Little did I know. I'm jacked elation.
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: Premature, I'm jacked elation.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: Well done. Well, like the fact that you came, did
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: you workshop that? Did it just come to you all
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: at once?
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: Um, it, it, it, I didn't really workshop it. It
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: kind of came to me in the moment. I was like,
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: what would it be? You know, um, Keith Olbermann used
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: to say premature jocularity. I didn't, I didn't, they didn't
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: make a ton of sense to me. So I just
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: did a play that worked for me premature. I'm jacked elation.
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: And this is why she is perhaps our favorite guest
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: here in the Right Time universe. That is Elle Duncan.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: Check her out on SportsCenter every now and then doing
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: a little bit of wrestling on a plane somewhere. And
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: always let her know that she needs to come back
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: on the show sometime soon.
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: I love that.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: I appreciate you.
- 1:08:07Speaker 5: Love you both.
