- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Swahili with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: I'm Luna. And you know what? Last episode, we learned how to ask for help at a hotel. Today I'm ready to check out. Lucas: Perfect timing. Checking out of a hotel is a great skill to have. Let's start with the first phrase you'll need: Nataka kuondoka. Luna: Nataka kuondoka. Lucas: Good. It means 'I want to leave' or 'I want to check out.' Say it once more, slow. Luna: Nataka kuondoka. Lucas: Now, you go to the front desk and say that. The receptionist will probably ask if you need the bill. So next phrase: Tafadhali niandikie bili. Luna: Tafadhali niandikie bili. Luna: Tafadhali niandikie bili. Got it. Lucas: Now imagine you had a great stay. You might say: Nimefurahia kukaa hapa. Luna: Nimefurahia kukaa hapa. Lucas: That means 'I enjoyed staying here.' Nimefurahia is 'I have enjoyed', kukaa is 'to stay', hapa is 'here'. Luna: Nimefurahia kukaa hapa. That feels good to say. Lucas: And if everything was fine, you can say: Kila kitu kiko sawa. Luna: Kila kitu kiko sawa. Lucas: It means 'Everything is okay.' Kila kitu is 'everything', kiko sawa is 'is fine'. Luna: Kila kitu kiko sawa. Simple. Lucas: Then thank them: Asante sana kwa huduma. Luna: Asante sana kwa huduma. Lucas: 'Thank you very much for the service.' Asante sana is 'thank you very much', kwa huduma means 'for the service'. Luna: Asante sana kwa huduma. Lucas: And if you plan to come back, say: Nitarudi tena. Luna: Nitarudi tena. Lucas: 'I will return again.' Nitarudi is 'I will return', tena is 'again'. Luna: Nitarudi tena. Lucas: Now let's put it all in a short scene. You've just enjoyed your stay, and you're at the front desk. Luna: Okay, I'm ready. Nataka kuondoka. Lucas: Receptionist smiles. You continue: Tafadhali niandikie bili. Luna: Tafadhali niandikie bili. Lucas: They give you the bill. You look it over and say: Kila kitu kiko sawa. Luna: Kila kitu kiko sawa. Lucas: Then: Nimefurahia kukaa hapa. Asante sana kwa huduma. Luna: Nimefurahia kukaa hapa. Asante sana kwa huduma. Lucas: And as you walk away: Nitarudi tena. Luna: Nitarudi tena. That was smooth.
