Transcript
- 0:00Charles: I have not been on my own fucking show in a month.
- 0:03Charles: No, you haven't.
- 0:04Charles: Have you guys thought about that?
- 0:06Nora: It's been weird with how you're here.
- 0:08Nora: It's been really weird.
- 0:09Charles: I'm so sorry.
- 0:12Chris: To be fair, we haven't had a show in a while now.
- 0:17Charles: Not on purpose.
- 0:19Charles: We've tried.
- 0:20Charles: True.
- 0:20Charles: We did try.
- 0:21Charles: We did try last week, which was my birthday, to do a show.
- 0:26Charles: And it didn't happen because of the curse of my birthday the birthday curse my birthday's curse
- 0:35Charles: We've got a great show for you guys this week
- 0:38Charles: Apparently, they've got a birthday present for me. I don't know what their
- 0:43Nora: and I
- 0:44Nora: Didn't say it. Okay
- 0:47Charles: But we've got a great show for you guys this week. We've got
- 0:51Charles: We've got some great stuff from around the net. We've got
- 0:54Charles: Professional slapping, we've got combat juggling,
- 0:57Charles: we've got-- - Psychospora.
- 1:00Charles: We've got a kid's MMA class,
- 1:02Charles: which I am so excited to show you guys this video.
- 1:08Charles: It is, I would say, probably the closest thing
- 1:12Charles: for us to potentially get banned off of YouTube.
- 1:16Charles: (laughing)
- 1:17Charles: I don't know what the limit is for this kind of content,
- 1:21Charles: However, it is so shockingly delightful.
- 1:25Charles: But before all of that, Chris, roll the intro.
- 2:18Nora: We're giving Charles a second chance for his birthday
- 2:22Nora: and we're acting like today is Charles' birthday.
- 2:24Charles: Today is my birthday.
- 2:25Nora: Everybody say in the chat, happy birthday Charles.
- 2:27Charles: Happy birth, fucking happy birthday to me.
- 2:30Nora: Yeah, and give us a call.
- 2:33Nora: Our number is 888-8535 and tell Charles happy birthday.
- 2:37Charles: Tell me exactly what you got me for my birthday.
- 2:40Charles: Leave a message and let me know what you got me.
- 2:43Charles: Regardless of if you actually got me or not.
- 2:47Nora: Well, I'm Nora.
- 2:48Charles: Hi, Nora.
- 2:49Charles: I'm Charles.
- 2:50Charles: Hi, Charles.
- 2:52Charles: And who's back there on the ones and twos?
- 2:56Chris: It's me.
- 2:57Chris: It's me.
- 2:58Chris: It's the D-O-double-G. I am back.
- 3:00Chris: And apparently y'all can't do this show without me, I guess.
- 3:06Nora: The computer makes it so that we can't.
- 3:09Nora: (laughing)
- 3:09Chris: It's not a fail safe I thought I had, but here we are.
- 3:13Chris: Right.
- 3:14Charles: We did go live.
- 3:16Charles: So we did do the show for two minutes
- 3:19Charles: and the screen was black.
- 3:20Nora: And I think we were just like, oh, dang it.
- 3:23Nora: Like through the first half and then they were like,
- 3:25Nora: wait, they can still hear us.
- 3:27Nora: All right guys, tune in next week.
- 3:28Nora: See ya.
- 3:29Charles: I had a few comments in the chat,
- 3:31Charles: people wishing me happy birthday.
- 3:33Nora: Good.
- 3:33Charles: So I'm just saying, we still did the show.
- 3:37Charles: Not very well, but we still did it.
- 3:40Charles: We did.
- 3:41Charles: But yeah, Chris, I'm so glad that you were back
- 3:43Charles: to troubleshoot things.
- 3:45Charles: (laughing)
- 3:46Chris: So here's the funny thing.
- 3:47Chris: So I was not here last week because I was at San Diego
- 3:51Chris: Comic-Con and I had set up everything in advance
- 3:56Chris: for hopefully the show to run smoothly.
- 3:59Chris: We had preloaded all of the media, everything was set.
- 4:03Chris: I came in on Sunday and tested everything
- 4:05Chris: to make sure it was good.
- 4:07Chris: I thought we were set.
- 4:08Chris: And as I am standing among a sea of humanity
- 4:12Chris: waiting to get into the exhibit hall
- 4:14Chris: at San Diego Comic-Con, I start getting a flurry
- 4:17Chris: of messages from both Charles and Mandy saying,
- 4:21Chris: "Oh my God, nothing's working, what do we do?"
- 4:23Chris: And as a technically inclined person
- 4:27Chris: who has to help people troubleshoot things
- 4:30Chris: they don't understand, it's not working
- 4:33Chris: is about the least helpful feedback you can get
- 4:38Chris: from a diagnostic perspective.
- 4:40Charles: Yeah, touche.
- 4:42Charles: You know what, I do think that as somebody also
- 4:47Charles: who has to be the technical support
- 4:49Charles: for my family's technology,
- 4:54Charles: I understand where that comes from and I do want to apologize for you
- 5:01Charles: Or to you not for you
- 5:04Nora: And I would just like to say that shit was whack last week. It was really whack
- 5:11Chris: Yeah, and I appreciate that you don't need to apologize. I'm just I'm sorry that the show didn't work
- 5:16Chris: I I was not near a computer at all
- 5:19Chris: I was literally standing in front of the exhibit hall
- 5:22Chris: waiting for the door to open,
- 5:24Chris: which was exactly at the same time
- 5:26Chris: that the show was supposed to go live.
- 5:28Chris: So I had no way to do anything except to cry.
- 5:34Charles: I called Chris and I was trying to explain on the phone,
- 5:36Charles: like it's just like things are not working right.
- 5:40Charles: Trying to explain just a little bit over the phone
- 5:42Charles: what was going on.
- 5:43Charles: And all I heard was,
- 5:46Charles: (mumbles)
- 5:49Chris: You know, the best part about that was actually today
- 5:53Chris: when I came into the studio
- 5:55Chris: and I was expecting to find things a shambles.
- 5:59Chris: Mandy had said that she left things
- 6:01Chris: exactly the way they were before.
- 6:02Chris: So I figured, well, at least I'll be able to see
- 6:05Chris: what went wrong so we can better prepare for next time.
- 6:09Chris: I come in, I turn on everything in the control room.
- 6:13Chris: Everything worked just fine.
- 6:14Charles: It's the curse.
- 6:16Charles: I'm telling you both.
- 6:18Charles: It's not anything that was wrong with the computer.
- 6:22Charles: It was me.
- 6:24Nora: Charles also had a flat tire last week.
- 6:26Charles: Yeah, I had a flat tire,
- 6:28Charles: a puncture in the sidewall of my tire.
- 6:33Chris: That was what I felt worst about, actually,
- 6:35Chris: was the fact that not only was this show not working
- 6:38Chris: and me not being able to do anything to fix it
- 6:40Chris: so you guys couldn't do the show,
- 6:42Chris: but you were stuck here because your tire had a flat.
- 6:46Nora: Yeah.
- 6:46Nora: And he got here at six, and most of the tire shops
- 6:50Nora: close at seven.
- 6:52Chris: I mean, if you're lucky.
- 6:53Nora: If you're lucky.
- 6:53Nora: It was six, yeah.
- 6:55Charles: So, so, okay.
- 6:57Charles: I was just trying to say-
- 6:58Charles: So wait, how did you get home?
- 7:01Charles: Let's go through the whole timeline.
- 7:03Charles: Because first off, it was a hole
- 7:05Charles: in the sidewall of the tire,
- 7:07Charles: which means something from the side punctured it.
- 7:10Charles: I didn't run into anything.
- 7:11Nora: That's not driving over a nail.
- 7:13Charles: That's not driving over a nail.
- 7:14Charles: That is-- - But did you piss off?
- 7:15Charles: That's what I'm wondering is like what happened
- 7:19Charles: and when did it happen?
- 7:21Charles: This is the birthday curse.
- 7:24Charles: This is the curse, right?
- 7:26Charles: So I get to the studio.
- 7:29Charles: I didn't notice that the tire was flat,
- 7:32Charles: but I get inside and like 10, 15 minutes later,
- 7:37Charles: Mandy and Mandy's partner showed up.
- 7:41Charles: The intern.
- 7:41Charles: The intern showed up.
- 7:44Nora: With a really great birthday dinner.
- 7:47Charles: Yeah, it was great.
- 7:48Charles: They brought barbecue, it was delightful.
- 7:51Charles: And he goes, "You know your tire's flat, right?"
- 7:55Charles: And I was like, "What?"
- 7:57Charles: Yeah, it's not just-- - Flat flat.
- 7:59Charles: Not just like a little bit of flat, it was-
- 8:02Charles: Rim to the ground.
- 8:03Charles: Rim to the ground flat, right?
- 8:05Charles: And then when we went to go fill it up the first time,
- 8:08Charles: it filled up and then in like two minutes it was flat.
- 8:12Charles: I left before all this happened.
- 8:14Charles: They told me to go home.
- 8:15Charles: I had yard work to do.
- 8:16Charles: No, this was while we were still,
- 8:18Charles: this was when we were still at the show.
- 8:21Charles: So this was like before everything.
- 8:22Charles: So I'm like trying to do all this stuff,
- 8:25Charles: trying to find like a shop that's open
- 8:27Charles: so I can get it over,
- 8:28Charles: and also trying to figure out
- 8:29Charles: how the fuck I'm gonna get home.
- 8:32Chris: I'm guessing you don't have AAA.
- 8:34Nora: I don't have AAA. - And figuring out
- 8:36Nora: how, what specifically is not working within the show.
- 8:39Nora: Right.
- 8:40Nora: So there were like three things going on
- 8:42Nora: that were like pretty big.
- 8:43Nora: (laughing)
- 8:45Charles: So-- - All at the same time.
- 8:46Charles: Right, right.
- 8:47Charles: So we-
- 8:49Charles: And I'm hundreds of miles away,
- 8:51Chris: powerless to help any of it.
- 8:53Chris: So we fill up my tire after the,
- 8:55Chris: like we called it, we're like,
- 8:57Chris: the show's not gonna happen, we can't figure it out,
- 8:59Chris: like we're not gonna try again, it's not worth it,
- 9:01Chris: we're all kind of like frustrated
- 9:03Chris: and ready to just get out of there
- 9:05Charles: and I'm just, you know, a mess because-
- 9:09Nora: It's been, he already had a day.
- 9:12Charles: With like some life stuff that was going on as well.
- 9:15Charles: It was a day.
- 9:19Charles: So then I was like, you know what, fuck this.
- 9:22Charles: This is what we're going to do.
- 9:23Charles: There's a tire shop that's a mile away from here.
- 9:27Charles: We're going to fill it up and I'm going to speed.
- 9:31Charles: Oh, did you go to Big O Tires?
- 9:33Charles: Yeah, I went to, yeah, sponsor of this week's show,
- 9:36Charles: Big O Tires.
- 9:38Nora: Got Charles home on Friday last week.
- 9:40Charles: So, and then I just waited for,
- 9:43Charles: I waited for somebody to come pick me up,
- 9:48Charles: and there were some other-
- 9:50Nora: Events.
- 9:51Charles: Events that happened afterwards, but-
- 9:54Nora: Did you get your car,
- 9:56Nora: did you just have to replace one tire,
- 9:57Nora: or you have to do all four?
- 9:58Charles: Here's the thing, the next day,
- 10:01Charles: the guy was like, you know what,
- 10:02Charles: what normally happens with these things,
- 10:04Charles: you know, just, you're not gonna be able
- 10:06Charles: Just one tire because you know you want to make sure that the tires are the same you know
- 10:12Charles: Call it big O tires. Thank you big O tires. So he tried. Yes. They want the same tread depth everything like that
- 10:19Charles: He's like probably not gonna be able to get it done with just one. We're probably gonna have to get you two tires
- 10:25Charles: And I was like you know what yeah, they never they never want to replace just one
- 10:29Charles: They did just one oh
- 10:32Charles: They were like that other tires. I fuck with big O. They're like
- 10:36Charles: There the guy was like your tires are in such good shape. I was like I drive like
- 10:43Nora: No, I don't I don't drive that much you drew. I mean you make it to Denver back, but that's about it, right?
- 10:49Charles: Right, right, right for for work, but you have safe tires
- 10:51Charles: I have I have my tires are in very good shape and I only had to replace one tire. So it was pretty
- 10:59Charles: inexpensive, but they obviously couldn't fix the
- 11:03Charles: Pierce toll in the sidewall of the of the the tire. Yeah, that's what happened the last time I had a flat tires
- 11:09Nora: There was like a rip in my tire because I think I drove on it
- 11:15Nora: But I was on I was able to replace only one because I turned up was incredible it makes a huge difference on the budget
- 11:21Nora: That's why I asked
- 11:23Charles: Here's the thing if I were to get it replaced on my birthday and not the day after I would have to get all four
- 11:29Nora: Because something else would have gone wrong
- 11:33Chris: Charles, I am sorry you had such a terrible birthday.
- 11:37Chris: And I'm sorry to whatever extent I contributed to that.
- 11:40Chris: You didn't have to do anything!
- 11:42Chris: I mean, I-- - You just couldn't help.
- 11:44Chris: Yeah, I guess I was just powerless to stop it.
- 11:48Chris: We all were, we all were.
- 11:49Chris: Exactly how long have you been cursed for?
- 11:52Charles: I don't remember specifics,
- 11:53Charles: but this is like a regular thing, it feels like,
- 11:57Charles: where on my birthday things tend to go wrong.
- 12:02Charles: I don't have any other specifics in mind, but this is just something that's been
- 12:07Charles: happening for a while now. Next year we'll find out. We have video evidence
- 12:11Charles: now of this happening. Of this curse. So I think probably for 38 years I think
- 12:22Charles: there was like some kind of witch's curse for... Every day, every year on the day of
- 12:30Nora: It is birth.
- 12:31Nora: (laughing)
- 12:34Charles: So, while I was going, so with that being said,
- 12:38Charles: we're doing my birthday show this week
- 12:40Charles: when it's not on my birthday because-
- 12:43Chris: Redo.
- 12:43Chris: Hey, I don't know that it's not your birthday.
- 12:45Chris: I haven't seen your birth certificate.
- 12:48Charles: True, do you wanna see it?
- 12:49Charles: I brought it with me.
- 12:50Charles: (laughing)
- 12:51Charles: You just keep it in your car.
- 12:52Charles: I have my social security card on me at all times.
- 12:54Nora: I would like that actually.
- 12:56Nora: (laughing)
- 12:57Charles: Why?
- 12:58Charles: You need to know my social, like,
- 13:00Charles: are you trying to figure out if I was born here or not?
- 13:02Charles: Nora?
- 13:05Charles: Do you think I'm illegal, Nora?
- 13:09Nora: I don't know where you were born.
- 13:09Nora: No reason.
- 13:12Chris: No reason at all.
- 13:15Chris: Anyway, welcome to the show, everybody.
- 13:17Charles: You guys wanna see some cute pictures of me as a baby?
- 13:19Charles: I do. - Yes, desperately.
- 13:21Charles: All right, so I got a few pictures here.
- 13:23Nora: Oh, look at you fishing!
- 13:25Charles: I'm a little fish.
- 13:26Nora: Oh, that's so cute!
- 13:28Charles: Like, if you look into my eyes and see like,
- 13:31Charles: it looks like-
- 13:32Charles: Like Dead Sea Scrolls.
- 13:33Charles: Yeah, exactly.
- 13:34Charles: There's nothing behind those eyes.
- 13:36Nora: I know that look.
- 13:38Nora: (laughing)
- 13:39Nora: That's my dear friend.
- 13:41Nora: (laughing)
- 13:42Nora: Oh, that's a good one.
- 13:44Nora: Look at that little guy.
- 13:45Nora: Oh, look at you.
- 13:47Charles: Look how tired this 80 year old man is.
- 13:49Nora: You're an astronaut.
- 13:51Charles: It's just like when you look at a child
- 13:52Charles: and you go like, oh, is that like a child
- 13:54Charles: or is that an old man?
- 13:55Chris: Wait, are you supposed to be like an astronaut?
- 13:59Chris: Yeah, that's an astronaut.
- 14:00Chris: Okay, where's your helmet?
- 14:02Charles: Good question.
- 14:03Charles: I don't know, I'm at JC Penney.
- 14:07Chris: The one that no longer exists?
- 14:08Charles: Math Blaster.
- 14:10Charles: This is a classic, Charles.
- 14:11Charles: I'm very excited.
- 14:13Charles: Have you ever played Math Blaster?
- 14:14Charles: No.
- 14:16Charles: Holy shit, this was my jam.
- 14:20Charles: Basically, you just solve math puzzles
- 14:22Charles: and you shoot aliens with lasers at the same time.
- 14:25Nora: It was your zoo tycoon?
- 14:26Charles: It was my zoo tycoon.
- 14:27Nora: (laughing)
- 14:28Chris: You know what, I feel like we could take this photo
- 14:30Chris: and I could Photoshop Silksong into it
- 14:33Chris: and you would have the exact same reaction.
- 14:35Chris: Yeah.
- 14:35Chris: And you have that big dog shirt.
- 14:38Nora: I had so much big dog merch as a child.
- 14:41Nora: Big dog.
- 14:43Nora: I wish I could have worn more big dog
- 14:44Nora: 'cause it was dog themed.
- 14:46Charles: Yeah.
- 14:47Nora: But I was a girl raised in the early 2000s.
- 14:49Charles: Have you guys seen big dog recently?
- 14:51Charles: I went through the big dog merch website.
- 14:53Charles: Is that still a thing?
- 14:54Charles: It's still a thing and it's like super Republican coated.
- 14:58Charles: Oh boy.
- 14:59Nora: Yeah, I'm not surprised.
- 15:00Charles: It's, it's, it's, no it's not sad, it's delightful.
- 15:05Nora: The dogs deserve better.
- 15:07Charles: Like I wanna wear some of that stuff.
- 15:09Charles: Like, like not, like ironic shirt wearing, you know?
- 15:14Charles: But I think like it still, it still holds up.
- 15:17Nora: Oh my. - Oh my gosh.
- 15:20Charles: They've got underwear.
- 15:21Nora: I'm not, yeah, I feel like they always have.
- 15:24Nora: But just like-
- 15:25Charles: Why is the dog hot?
- 15:27Nora: Yeah, why is he, why is he beefy?
- 15:30Chris: This is how I work remotely?
- 15:32Chris: What the fuck?
- 15:33Chris: Okay, this is AI.
- 15:35Nora: Yeah.
- 15:36Nora: (laughing)
- 15:36Chris: This is very clearly like shitty AI,
- 15:40Charles: which I guess is-
- 15:41Charles: The dog, the myth, the legends.
- 15:45Charles: Big kahuna.
- 15:47Chris: Wow, this is just like-
- 15:49Chris: Oh my.
- 15:49Chris: This is just like the lowest effort,
- 15:53Chris: whatever graphics ever.
- 15:56Charles: I'm serious.
- 15:57Charles: If you guys ever are like,
- 15:59Charles: I need to get Charles a birthday present
- 16:02Charles: or some kind of Christmas present,
- 16:04Charles: just go to Big Dog's website,
- 16:07Charles: choose whatever you want,
- 16:09Charles: and go to town and I will love it.
- 16:12Chris: Bigdogs.com, y'all.
- 16:13Chris: Good to know.
- 16:14Chris: Sponsored by Big O' Tires.
- 16:17Charles: No, go back to Big Dogs.
- 16:18Charles: I wanna go back and I need to go to the main menu,
- 16:22Charles: I need to see how that dog looks
- 16:25Charles: because they made the dog hot.
- 16:27Nora: And I-- - Yeah, no.
- 16:29Charles: Look at him, that is a furry.
- 16:32Charles: I know multiple people who would be like,
- 16:34Charles: damn. - That's a furry.
- 16:35Charles: That dog can get it.
- 16:37Nora: If he was in the furry world, he could absolutely get it.
- 16:42Charles: Or in the USA, a long time ago.
- 16:45Charles: (laughing)
- 16:48Charles: (laughing)
- 16:50Charles: All right.
- 16:51Charles: (laughing)
- 16:52Charles: We got one more photo, one more photo for you guys.
- 16:54Charles: Okay, let's see what you got.
- 16:56Charles: Here's me getting my haircuts.
- 16:57Charles: This is my mother who had passed
- 17:00Charles: and my aunt Carol who's still alive.
- 17:02Charles: But look at this.
- 17:03Chris: Your aunt Carol has some serious 80s hair.
- 17:06Nora: Yeah, it's rocking.
- 17:07Nora: Were you like crying while you got your hair cut?
- 17:10Nora: It does kind of look like I'm-
- 17:11Nora: It looks like you have a tear.
- 17:12Charles: And I've got an ice cream scoop.
- 17:14Nora: Yeah, you've been soothed. - You look a little forlorn.
- 17:18Charles: You look like you're not having a good time.
- 17:19Charles: You know what, I feel the same way
- 17:21Charles: when I get haircuts nowadays.
- 17:22Charles: I have to have the ice cream scooped nowadays.
- 17:25Nora: (laughing)
- 17:26Charles: I got a haircut for the first time
- 17:28Charles: in like two months last week.
- 17:29Charles: Nice, looks good.
- 17:30Charles: Thank you.
- 17:32Charles: It's faux hockey, I didn't put any product in it today though
- 17:35Charles: so now it's just pushed to the side.
- 17:37Nora: Yeah.
- 17:38Charles: So yeah, that's my birthday.
- 17:41Charles: Thank you guys.
- 17:42Charles: How are you guys, like what's going on?
- 17:45Nora: I judged at the county fair yesterday.
- 17:48Nora: So I judged the food preservation
- 17:51Nora: and some of the baked goods
- 17:52Nora: and I ate a lot of cookies yesterday.
- 17:54Charles: Nice.
- 17:55Nora: And one of the themes was
- 17:57Nora: people were making cookie monster cookies.

- 35:47Speaker 7: It's definitely that song.
- 35:51Nora: Also, it's a Roland.
- 35:53Charles: It's a Roland.
- 35:56Charles: You know it's not a Yamaha, you're right, I was wrong.
- 36:01Nora: He goes to multiple, like any open mic night,
- 36:05Nora: that's where he goes.
- 36:06Charles: So we need to go to an open mic night.
- 36:07Nora: We need to go to some open mic night
- 36:09Nora: so we can scout for the show.
- 36:10Chris: We need to organize an open mic night here at the studio.
- 36:14Nora: Ooh, you might be onto something there.
- 36:19Charles: There we go.
- 36:20Charles: Chris.
- 36:20Charles: Yes.
- 36:21Charles: I'm going to pitch something to you.
- 36:23Charles: Oh boy.
- 36:24Charles: trying to say this for a while now I think we need to do another hallow stream
- 36:28Charles: okay what if evil Reverend Jim comes in and does a 15-minute performance for us
- 36:35Chris: live on the hell stream I am a hundred percent into that idea I think that
- 36:41Charles: would be a hoot I think fantastic I think that that would be it would be so
- 36:46Charles: fun like he looks like you're right the pastor from the 1800s he looks like he's
- 36:51Nora: going to warn us about the Antichrist. Yeah, or he's like a plague doctor without his mask.
- 36:57Charles: Or he could just see the devil inside you and he's just like, "Ahhhh!"
- 37:06Charles: I can see it. I can see it. Also, according to his YouTube channel,
- 37:10Charles: his full name is Evil Reverend Jim, aka Major Loser. Why Major Loser? I don't know.
- 37:19Nora: I like him though, he's not a loser.
- 37:22Nora: He doesn't even have a bio.
- 37:24Charles: He has 86 subscribers.
- 37:27Nora: He number 87.
- 37:28Chris: He does have 86 subscribers, but to his credit,
- 37:31Chris: his videos get more views than ours do.
- 37:34Chris: (laughing)
- 37:37Nora: So who is profiting off of-
- 37:41Nora: (laughing)
- 37:45Charles: Someone is finding this guy.
- 37:47Charles: He gets more comments too.
- 37:48Charles: People are like, "Reverend Jim, we love this stuff."
- 37:51Charles: He is beloved on TikTok.
- 37:54Nora: Absolutely, yeah.
- 37:55Charles: People love this shit.
- 37:56Nora: If people knew that he was in my area,
- 38:00Nora: then I think people would be jealous of that.
- 38:03Charles: Okay, we need to find contact information.
- 38:06Charles: Come on.
- 38:07Charles: We need to look it up.
- 38:08Charles: We'll do it.
- 38:09Charles: We'll find out.
- 38:10Nora: We're gonna do this for you, our viewer.
- 38:12Chris: It can't be too difficult to track down.
- 38:15Chris: All you need to do is set up a microphone somewhere.
- 38:17Chris: (laughing)
- 38:19Nora: They'll show up.
- 38:20Nora: And we have spare microphones.
- 38:22Nora: Open mic here.
- 38:22Charles: We have one of those little rabbit traps
- 38:25Charles: with the box and the string that we pull out.
- 38:27Nora: There's a lit sign that's like, "Open mic here."
- 38:32Charles: Yes, yes, we trap 'em.
- 38:35Nora: Yeah, exactly.
- 38:39Charles: Ugh, okay.
- 38:41Charles: Next set of videos.
- 38:43Charles: The Wheel of Fortune account has been dunking on people
- 38:49Charles: that have been on their show.
- 38:50Nora: As they should.
- 38:50Charles: Like pretty consistently.
- 38:53Nora: We're in a literacy crisis.
- 38:55Charles: Yeah.
- 38:55Charles: They should do it.
- 38:55Charles: So we're gonna show a few of the examples
- 38:59Charles: of people just failing miserably.
- 39:03Nora: Swinging and missing.
- 39:04Nora: You're swinging and missing.
- 39:05Nora: Completely.
- 39:05Nora: And he do it.
- 39:07Charles: Good luck.
- 39:08Video: Magic hand, magic band, magic.
- 39:13Charles: Come on man.
- 39:14Video: Van, can, Jan, van, van, van, van.
- 39:18Video: Wan, wand, oh!
- 39:20Video: (laughter)
- 39:22Video: Wand, oh!
- 39:26Chris: That and looks so handy.
- 39:30Chris: Is this what killed Pat Sajak?
- 39:35Nora: It looks like it!
- 39:37Charles: Good God.
- 39:38Charles: Vanna White's like, just like her face is just
- 39:41Charles: He's like getting super red during this whole thing.
- 39:44Chris: How did he get vanned before wand?
- 39:47Chris: (laughing)
- 39:48Chris: He got the-
- 39:49Chris: Vanned is not a word.
- 39:49Nora: 'Cause his brain was in the wand, in and.
- 39:52Chris: He's in and land.
- 39:53Nora: He was in and land.
- 39:54Chris: He's yes anding.
- 39:55Nora: Yeah.
- 39:56Video: I'm sorry, you had that sound in your mind.
- 39:58Video: That's why you fooled me with that one.
- 39:59Video: I didn't know what was happening.
- 40:00Video: Wow.
- 40:01Video: Wow, well, it's a weird game and you just never know.
- 40:03Video: I'm really upset.
- 40:05Video: (laughing)
- 40:06Chris: He's trying to be nice.
- 40:08Nora: It's a weird game, you know?
- 40:09Nora: He's like, yeah, it's not easy, you know?
- 40:11Chris: They're just, they're words and things.
- 40:13Nora: All right, my family always watched Jeopardy
- 40:15Nora: and then turned it off before Wheel of Fortune
- 40:17Nora: because Jeopardy was a smart person's game
- 40:19Nora: and Wheel of Fortune not so much.
- 40:22Nora: (laughing)
- 40:22Chris: Damn, shots fired.
- 40:24Chris: Nor is family catching strays over here.
- 40:26Nora: That's coming from my family.
- 40:29Nora: But I do actually use that rule.
- 40:30Nora: I don't really watch Wheel of Fortune.
- 40:32Charles: Yeah.
- 40:34Nora: What's your next one?
- 40:35Charles: All right, let's keep it rolling.
- 40:37Video: I like to solve, okay.
- 40:39Video: Stripes, stars, and butter bars.
- 40:43Video: (laughing)
- 40:45Video: This will surprise you, but that's not correct.
- 40:46Video: Oh my God.
- 40:49Charles: Wow.
- 40:50Charles: Stripe stars and butter bars, baby.
- 40:52Charles: Stripe stars and butter bars.
- 40:55Charles: You know, we're all here for some
- 40:56Charles: stripe stars and butter bars.
- 40:57Nora: I think that one just got away from him.
- 40:59Charles: You know what? - I know I am.
- 41:01Charles: You're on national TV, I get it.
- 41:04Charles: You know, you're gonna make mistakes.
- 41:05Nora: I would do that.
- 41:07Charles: You would do that.
- 41:09Nora: On a TV show, I'd freeze and I'd do that.
- 41:12Nora: I'm the one who answered a question by saying Bay Hills.
- 41:15Nora: Bay Hills, no, Hills of Bay.
- 41:17Nora: No, Bays of Hail.
- 41:18Nora: No, Hay Bale.
- 41:22Nora: Took me like a billion,
- 41:24Nora: I thought that happened organically one time.
- 41:26Charles: Yeah, Bays of Hail, I love that.
- 41:28Nora: I could not get the word Hay Bale out of my mouth.
- 41:30Nora: It was awful.
- 41:31Charles: Hayes of Bale.
- 41:32Nora: Hayes of Bale.
- 41:34Nora: A Bay Hill.
- 41:36Charles: All right.
- 41:38Charles: Steven, surf clay, where we go?
- 41:41Charles: Clay?
- 41:43Charles: Surf clay, where we go?
- 41:45Charles: Go back to it.
- 41:47Charles: We need to play this one again.
- 41:50Nora: It's here we come.
- 41:51Charles: Surf city, here we go.
- 41:53Charles: Right? Surf clay, where we go?
- 41:56Nora: Where we go?
- 41:56Nora: (laughing)
- 41:57Charles: Oh my God.
- 42:01Chris: I don't know how to count how many letters
- 42:04Chris: are on the screen.
- 42:06Chris: Also, that thing is enormous.
- 42:09Chris: Like, look at the person next to the board.
- 42:12Chris: Those are huge.
- 42:14Nora: They're really big.
- 42:15Nora: Steven.
- 42:17Nora: Serve clay, where we go?
- 42:19Nora: (laughing)
- 42:21Nora: I love the response.
- 42:24Nora: No.
- 42:25Charles: (laughing)
- 42:28Charles: All right, one more.
- 42:30Video: So, we'd like to solve the puzzle.
- 42:33Video: Go ahead.
- 42:34Video: Superman and Spider-Woman.
- 42:36Video: (laughing)
- 42:40Video: So, we'd like to solve the puzzle.
- 42:43Video: Go ahead.
- 42:43Video: Superman and-
- 42:45Video: (laughing)
- 42:46Charles: And Spider.
- 42:50Nora: (laughing)
- 42:56Charles: (groaning)
- 42:57Nora: And they just lost $8,000 from that.
- 43:02Chris: Not too many people make an $8,000 mistake
- 43:05Chris: something that silly.
- 43:07Chris: No!
- 43:09Nora: No!
- 43:11Nora: No!
- 43:34Nora: No!
- 43:34Nora: He has a viral sound.
- 43:36Nora: I hyped this one up a few weeks ago,
- 43:37Nora: but this is a get up, get pissed.
- 43:40Video: Oh, so you fell down from a guy
- 43:42Video: pushing you down to ground, go hard.
- 43:45Video: Okay.
- 43:47Video: Get up.
- 43:47Video: (rock music)
- 43:49Video: Get pissed.
- 43:53Charles: Call the police.
- 43:55Charles: (laughing)
- 43:56Charles: It's a very good meme format, and I really like it.
- 43:58Charles: That's awesome. - There's been so many
- 43:59Nora: good cats, cat videos with that.
- 44:01Charles: The cat videos ones are good.
- 44:02Charles: The dog ones where they're like,
- 44:04Charles: There's been some ones where they're like tossing the dog
- 44:06Charles: like across the room and I'm like.
- 44:08Nora: And the dog comes flying back.
- 44:10Charles: Yeah.
- 44:11Charles: (laughing)
- 44:12Nora: All right, so this guy,
- 44:14Nora: Rutabaga has recently been all over my FYP
- 44:17Nora: and it's probably just because I finish all of the videos.
- 44:20Nora: So this guy, he brings his pug out to a stand
- 44:24Nora: and he's doing a thing.
- 44:27Nora: So let's watch it.
- 44:33Video: receipt. Stop, stop. I'm doing a thing. I'm doing a thing. Yeah. So today only, you see
- 44:39Video: he's iced out and also he's employee of the month. So today only we write custom poems
- 44:46Video: on the spot. It's like really cool stuff. They get wax sealed and it's also a dollar
- 44:50Video: to pet the pug and he's like super soft and his ears feel like velvet and I take card
- 44:55Nora: if you don't have cash. This guy's got a lot of parameters. And everybody goes, wait, wait,
- 45:01Nora: Wait, hold on, come here, I'm doing a thing, I'm doing a thing!
- 45:04Video: Come back, I'm doing a thing!
- 45:06Video: I think I might have five dollars.
- 45:10Video: I mean, I take card.
- 45:12Video: Or Apple Pay.
- 45:13Video: Wait.
- 45:13Video: I don't know what I'm gonna do right now, but can I just pet the dog?
- 45:16Video: You gotta take a number.
- 45:18Video: What the fuck?
- 45:23Video: Number...
- 45:24Video: 353?
- 45:28Video: Number 354?
- 45:30Video: Oh my god.
- 45:32Video: Have I heard dog twice?
- 45:34Video: You could pet him once and get a poem.
- 45:37Nora: Can I?
- 45:38Video: Get a poem?
- 45:40Nora: He writes poems too.
- 45:43Nora: I bet she's ever
- 45:44Nora: just wish me the better.
- 45:46Chris: This is insane.
- 45:47Chris: This is a lot of setup for a gag.
- 45:50Chris: I respect that.
- 45:52Nora: He has so many of these videos.
- 45:55Nora: And he's a great salesman.
- 45:57Nora: He marks the dollars to make sure
- 45:58Nora: Is it real?
- 45:59Video: Here, give me your hand.
- 46:00Video: Wait, wait, wait.
- 46:01Nora: Got to put it in the cash register.
- 46:04Chris: Is that like a toy McDonald's cash register?
- 46:08Video: Why does he have a hole punch?
- 46:10Nora: Just a case.
- 46:11Video: So it's all you can pet.
- 46:14Video: So you come back.
- 46:15Video: And here's a loyalty card.
- 46:17Video: Oh my god.
- 46:18Video: Get the 10 3% off.
- 46:21Nora: But there is-
- 46:22Nora: OK, so there's a reason for a hole punch.
- 46:24Nora: On his side, it says, "Change is double."
- 46:28Nora: If you've paid, change across double.
- 46:31Chris: Super iced out.
- 46:33Nora: He's iced out.
- 46:34Chris: Wait, what's going in the typewriter?
- 46:36Nora: Is this his poem?
- 46:37Chris: Yeah.
- 46:44Nora: So this is Zach's gig.
- 46:46Nora: He records himself making money by having people pay his off.
- 46:55Chris: There's still a minute left of this.
- 46:58Nora: [LAUGHTER]
- 46:59Nora: We don't have to finish.
- 46:59Nora: No, we have to finish.
- 47:00Nora: We do?
- 47:01Nora: OK.
- 47:01Nora: Yeah, I'm invested now.
- 47:03Nora: He's got a process.
- 47:05Nora: And I watched all of these videos all the way through.
- 47:12Nora: You have a look?
- 47:15Nora: Oh, he's not going to read us the poem.
- 47:17Chris: I'm surprised he's not filling out the forms in triplicate.
- 47:20Nora: Yeah, it's-- yeah.
- 47:22Chris: Like with the old carbon paper.
- 47:25Chris: That would've been great.
- 47:25Chris: With a fucking wax seal?
- 47:27Nora: Yeah, he wax seals it.
- 47:29Nora: [LAUGHTER]
- 47:32Chris: This is brilliant.
- 47:34Chris: Although hauling all of that shit to wherever he is
- 47:37Chris: probably wasn't very fun.
- 47:39Chris: This is art.
- 47:40Nora: It is.
- 47:41Nora: It's performance art.
- 47:43Nora: People are not allowed to pet Rutabaga unless they pay him.
- 47:46Nora: (car engine roaring)
- 47:53Video: Whoa, whoa.
- 47:56Video: There you go.
- 47:56Video: Thank you so much.
- 47:58Video: Oh wait.
- 48:00Video: I really appreciate it.
- 48:01Video: You're welcome.
- 48:01Video: Have a great rest of the night.
- 48:02Video: Thank you too.
- 48:03Video: Nice meeting you too.
- 48:06Video: Bye.
- 48:10Charles: Wow, incredible.
- 48:11Charles: Yeah.
- 48:11Charles: Wow, where is, is this New York?
- 48:14Charles: Where is, yeah.
- 48:15Charles: Oh, Philly.
- 48:15Nora: I think he goes he's on the East Coast though. I think that might have been New York City, but he does that everywhere
- 48:22Chris: He brings his dog. You're not allowed to pet the dog without paying. I I you know what I get it
- 48:28Chris: He's got a robust system that I very much appreciate
- 48:31Nora: I think that's how most of us feel like it's just such a good system
- 48:35Nora: And if he wants to upsell me and I want to get a poem and a pet and a Polaroid then like, you know
- 48:41Chris: I'll probably pay him 20 bucks. Yeah, why not?
- 48:44Chris: Yeah, and the fact is like that makes it more of an experience exactly
- 48:49Chris: And so you'd be willing to pay to pet a dog because you're getting a whole you're getting a whole lot of accoutrement
- 48:55Nora: You know with it. Yeah, exactly
- 48:58Chris: So next though if I just walked up to someone and they're like, hey pet my dog for $5
- 49:02Nora: I'd be like fuck you, but if somebody said hey, hey, come here. I'm doing a thing. Come pet my dog his ears
- 49:07Nora: Feel like velvet it's a dollar and he's the employee of the month. I think I would be a lot more receptive
- 49:12Chris: Yeah, 100%. - Agreed.
- 49:13Chris: He's got a good pitch.
- 49:14Nora: So here's this next one.
- 49:16Nora: I found a bear cooling off in the river
- 49:19Nora: and this is how I like to play in the river as well.
- 49:21Nora: So I'm not sure how they got this video of me.
- 49:28Nora: (laughing)
- 49:31Chris: There's Nora in her natural habitat.
- 49:33Nora: (laughing)
- 49:35Chris: Have you ever heard of fat bear week?
- 49:37Nora: Oh, have I?
- 49:39Nora: Love fat bear week.
- 49:40Nora: We'll cover it this year.
- 49:42Charles: We did it off camera.
- 49:45Charles: My work helps with Fat Bear Week.
- 49:48Nora: Awesome.
- 49:49Charles: Well, we'll talk about it after the show.
- 49:51Nora: Yeah, so this bear is just really enjoying the river.
- 49:55Nora: I don't even know if he's fishing.
- 49:57Chris: Chris, do you know about Fat Bear Week?
- 50:00Chris: I do not know about Fat Bear Week.
- 50:01Chris: You want to talk about Fat Bear Week?
- 50:03Nora: So in order to get everyone excited about hibernating
- 50:07Nora: and the bears in Alaska, they have an annual-
- 50:11Nora: the National Park hosts an annual fat bear week
- 50:14Nora: where they take pictures of a bunch of really fat bears
- 50:18Nora: and they have names for them that are tracked.
- 50:21Nora: And then do they actually weigh them
- 50:23Nora: or is it just based on how-
- 50:24Video: Here's what they do.
- 50:25Nora: It's just a, it's a bracket
- 50:28Nora: and then people online vote for them
- 50:31Nora: and then the fattest bear wins.
- 50:32Charles: They use technology to scan the bears
- 50:38Charles: to understand how fat they are for the hibernation.
- 50:43Charles: So it's like a scanning tech
- 50:47Charles: that scans their body composition,
- 50:49Charles: or at least their size.
- 50:51Charles: It's very cool, it's very cool.
- 50:53Charles: That's nifty.
- 50:55Nora: So yeah, this bear, I just want to be this bear.
- 51:00Charles: I think we all want to be this bear.
- 51:02Nora: That just seems like a delightful way to spend your day.
- 51:05Charles: I went home before, so I worked all day,
- 51:09Charles: and I went home and I wanted to be that bear.
- 51:12Charles: They stuck a big sign at the pool
- 51:14Charles: in my apartment complex that says, "Swimming pool closed."
- 51:17Charles: So I cannot be this bear.
- 51:19Nora: Well, you could go to the river.
- 51:20Charles: I could go to the river.
- 51:22Nora: I think I'm gonna go to the river sometime this week
- 51:24Nora: when it's hot and just go be that bear in the river.
- 51:26Chris: I mean, now that you're past your birthday curse
- 51:28Chris: for the week, I think it'd be safe to go to the river.
- 51:30Charles: Are we past it?
- 51:32Nora: Yeah.
- 51:32Charles: One can only hope, Tracee. - Are we sure?
- 51:35Nora: Has anything happened since last week?
- 51:38Charles: I don't know.
- 51:40Charles: I don't think so.
- 51:40Nora: I don't think so either.
- 51:41Charles: Things have been pretty chill this week.
- 51:43Nora: Mm-hmm.
- 51:44Charles: All right, what else do we have?
- 51:45Nora: Okay, so next I found a guy who made plasma in a microwave.
- 51:49Nora: [laughter]
- 51:50Nora: What?
- 51:51Nora: What about glass?
- 51:52Video: You would think, because of glass cooking bowls and such,
- 51:55Video: that glass is perfectly fine to put in the microwave.
- 51:57Video: And that's true under normal circumstances.
- 52:02Video: I think I can melt it.
- 52:03Video: Apparently, is that a real beard?
- 52:06Video: I think so.
- 52:07Video: Enough, the heated section actually becomes very susceptible to the microwave.
- 52:11Video: So it starts locally heating that one specific area.
- 52:15Video: I don't know how long we have to heat this or how hot it has to get.
- 52:18Video: I can see the glass starting to get a bit clear, which means it's nearing its melting point.
- 52:24Video: Probably enough.
- 52:28Chris: Folks, do not try this at home, for the love of God.
- 52:31Chris: And if you do, leave us out of it.
- 52:32Video: Holy crap.
- 52:34Video: What temperature does glass melt at?
- 52:35Video: Wonder if we can melt the whole bottle.
- 52:37Video: What's crazy is it's only getting hot at that one specific area.
- 52:40Video: Holy shit.
- 52:41Video: Oh my gosh.
- 52:41Video: And it melts.
- 52:44Chris: Whoa.
- 52:50Video: Whoa.
- 52:53Nora: That's the plasma.
- 52:57Nora: He's superheated.
- 52:59Chris: Holy shit.
- 53:01Nora: He's superheated.

- 1:10:05Nora: I like the legal information there too at the bottom.
- 1:10:08Charles: Yeah, no problem.
- 1:10:09Chris: No problem.
- 1:10:09Chris: I think you may,
- 1:10:12Chris: one improvement could be where it says E pluribus anus,
- 1:10:15Chris: it should say E plumber's anus.
- 1:10:17Charles: Oh, I just stole the butthole from community,
- 1:10:21Charles: the butthole flag from community.
- 1:10:22Charles: Sure, sure.
- 1:10:23Nora: That does make sense.
- 1:10:25Charles: Cool, so I just wanna-
- 1:10:27Nora: Meet the team.
- 1:10:29Charles: Before we begin this presentation,
- 1:10:31Charles: I just wanted to have you guys meet the team
- 1:10:35Charles: behind this slide deck.
- 1:10:37Charles: Hi, my name is Charles Kelly,
- 1:10:39Charles: and I wasn't on the show,
- 1:10:40Charles: and this was supposed to be presented last week,
- 1:10:42Charles: but I wasn't on the show the other week
- 1:10:44Charles: due to complications of the buttholepocalypse
- 1:10:46Charles: that led to me missing the show
- 1:10:48Charles: for the second week in a row.
- 1:10:49Charles: And it ended up being three weeks in a row.
- 1:10:51Nora: Last week was three.
- 1:10:52Charles: Last week was three.
- 1:10:54Charles: So fun fact, it was most likely not due to cyclospora.
- 1:10:58Charles: (laughing)
- 1:11:01Charles: So as we came to find out that my issues
- 1:11:06Charles: kind of resolved a little bit too quick
- 1:11:08Charles: for it to be cyclospora.
- 1:11:10Charles: And also I had really bad sulfur burps.
- 1:11:13Charles: Have you guys ever had sulfur burps before?
- 1:11:16Charles: Yes, unfortunately.
- 1:11:17Charles: It is the most disgusting thing on the planet.
- 1:11:19Nora: It sounds miserable.
- 1:11:20Charles: It is.
- 1:11:20Charles: It tastes like bile every single time and your body is just like burping up constantly.
- 1:11:25Charles: So it just makes you want to like puke every single time it happens.
- 1:11:28Charles: It's disgusting.
- 1:11:29Nora: It's bad.
- 1:11:30Charles: So let's take a look.
- 1:11:33Charles: What actually is Cyclospora though?
- 1:11:35Charles: So it's a parasite, not a bacteria, which is very, very interesting.
- 1:11:38Charles: A lot of people are like, "Oh, it's a bacteria."
- 1:11:42Charles: So outbreaks from it are linked to poop on your food.
- 1:11:47Charles: It could be animal poop.
- 1:11:49Charles: It could be human poop.
- 1:11:50Chris: This is why you should never poop on your own food.
- 1:11:52Nora: Exactly.
- 1:11:53Nora: You're right.
- 1:11:55Charles: Please don't poop on your own food.
- 1:11:58Charles: And it's not just food, not produce, but it's also water.
- 1:12:03Charles: So a lot of people get it from contaminated water sources.
- 1:12:06Charles: So what's very interesting about it is we didn't really know about cyclospora until
- 1:12:10Charles: about the 1980s because a lot of our science is based in like first world
- 1:12:17Charles: countries and a lot of the third world countries were not really represented in
- 1:12:21Charles: a lot of our sciences so it only happened to really start being studied. I
- 1:12:28Charles: think the first real example of it being studied was like 1979 if I'm not
- 1:12:36Charles: mistaken which is like crazy to think of that. We've learned so much about science in the
- 1:12:40Nora: last 50 years, it blows my mind.
- 1:12:42Charles: Right, also, it's tiny.
- 1:12:44Charles: It is so tiny that it can pass through most water filters.
- 1:12:48Charles: So like, that's a crazy, crazy fact.
- 1:12:51Charles: That's wild.
- 1:12:52Charles: Right, so like, what is psychosporiasis?
- 1:12:58Chris: I love your choice of visual language.
- 1:13:01Charles: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:13:04Charles: Yeah, so it definitely makes your poop a little soft-servy.
- 1:13:09Charles: If you get my-
- 1:13:10Nora: I would say extremely.
- 1:13:12Nora: (laughing)
- 1:13:12Charles: It's a little soft, very soft.
- 1:13:15Chris: A bit of the Dairy Queen consistency we would say.
- 1:13:18Nora: I would say water.
- 1:13:21Chris: Oh. - Coffee.
- 1:13:22Charles: Yeah. - Okay, all right.
- 1:13:23Nora: There's a reason it's called explosive.
- 1:13:25Charles: So the infection period starts from about two days
- 1:13:29Charles: to about two weeks, which is another reason
- 1:13:31Charles: why it most likely wasn't a cyclospora
- 1:13:34Charles: or cyclosporiasis for myself because it happened too quick.
- 1:13:38Charles: And it went away too quick.
- 1:13:39Charles: So it's very uncommon in the US.
- 1:13:43Charles: But tropical or subtropical places,
- 1:13:45Charles: it's pretty darn common to have cyclosporiasis.
- 1:13:50Charles: It's usually not life-threatening
- 1:13:52Charles: unless you are severely dehydrated from it.
- 1:13:55Charles: And yeah, symptoms just don't necessarily go away.
- 1:14:00Charles: And if you have cyclosporiasis, even if the symptoms go away,
- 1:14:06Charles: they can come right back.
- 1:14:09Charles: Like, 'cause it's a parasite.
- 1:14:11Charles: It can just be in your body always at that point.
- 1:14:13Nora: And it can last, the infection can last
- 1:14:15Nora: for six weeks or longer.
- 1:14:17Nora: Like, it's a long-term thing.
- 1:14:19Nora: You don't want cyclosporitis.
- 1:14:21Nora: People who are in the hospital with it right now
- 1:14:23Nora: have lost 20 pounds because of how little
- 1:14:26Nora: they can keep in their body.
- 1:14:28Chris: Right.
- 1:14:28Chris: Damn, I need to get on that diet.
- 1:14:31Chris: That's what people are saying.
- 1:14:33Chris: I wouldn't.
- 1:14:34Chris: (laughing)
- 1:14:36Charles: I found out some fun information
- 1:14:39Charles: Taylor Farms.
- 1:14:40Charles: Yeah.
- 1:14:41Charles: Specifically in 2020, they donated some-
- 1:14:44Chris: Hold on, who is Taylor Farms?
- 1:14:45Charles: Oh yeah, let's take a step back.
- 1:14:47Charles: So Taylor Farms is the company that was kind of found to be-
- 1:14:51Charles: Named.
- 1:14:51Charles: Named to be at fault for this spread
- 1:14:58Charles: due to a lack of-
- 1:15:03Nora: Food safety oversight.
- 1:15:04Charles: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:15:05Charles: So the monitoring of it,
- 1:15:09Charles: we'll go over the timeline of how we got to this point.
- 1:15:13Charles: But Taylor Farms is a company based out,
- 1:15:16Charles: one of their places is in Mexico,
- 1:15:18Charles: and that's where a lot of this food came from,
- 1:15:22Charles: was from their Mexico produce farms that caused issues.
- 1:15:28Charles: This is, from news sources, a lot of People magazine,
- 1:15:32Charles: which is wild that People has gotten to be-
- 1:15:35Nora: on threads than I have from the United States government.
- 1:15:39Nora: Like the threads, threads knew what was going on
- 1:15:42Nora: and had identified it a week earlier
- 1:15:44Nora: than the CDC actually identified it.
- 1:15:48Charles: So back to it, apparently Taylor Farms
- 1:15:52Charles: is a big contributor to the Trump administration,
- 1:15:56Charles: having donated $700,000 to Republican prep PACs in 2020,
- 1:16:01Charles: and then over $3.5 million through 2025
- 1:16:04Charles: to Trump campaigns and other super PACs.
- 1:16:07Nora: This is the food lobby.
- 1:16:08Charles: This is the food lobby for this.
- 1:16:11Charles: And then in 2025, Trump cut $12 billion
- 1:16:16Charles: in public health funding,
- 1:16:17Charles: which very much included disease monitoring
- 1:16:20Charles: and outbreak investigation.
- 1:16:22Nora: Specifically cut funding, it limited funding
- 1:16:26Nora: to a specific group of foodborne pathogens,
- 1:16:31Nora: and it specifically excluded cyclospora.
- 1:16:33Charles: Right.
- 1:16:34Nora: So there's no funding
- 1:16:37Nora: to track cyclospora outbreaks right now.
- 1:16:39Chris: Yeah. - How convenient.
- 1:16:41Charles: So in the beginning of May, the outbreak begins.
- 1:16:46Charles: The FDA and CDC lists the May 1st
- 1:16:51Charles: as kind of like the start date for this outbreak.
- 1:16:55Charles: July 9th, Taco Bell begins to remove
- 1:16:59Charles: some of their fresh produce from their menu.
- 1:17:00Charles: Because a lot of things point back to Taco Bell.
- 1:17:04Charles: There's a lot of articles that come out
- 1:17:06Charles: that blame Taco Bell for this issue.
- 1:17:10Charles: Taco Bell, not at fault.
- 1:17:12Charles: Taco Bell, just doing their own thing.
- 1:17:15Charles: They were just provided some bad lettuce from Taylor Farms.
- 1:17:21Nora: And they did their due diligence
- 1:17:23Nora: by removing the produce from the menu.
- 1:17:24Charles: They did their due diligence.
- 1:17:26Charles: I love Taco Bell.
- 1:17:27Nora: It won't stop me from eating Taco Bell.
- 1:17:29Nora: Right.
- 1:17:30Chris: Stop me from eating Taco Bell. Yep, especially because they're part of their response to this was
- 1:17:36Nora: Offering the Mexican pizza for $1. It was awesome. Yeah. Yeah
- 1:17:42Charles: Multiple different
- 1:17:45Charles: Not just the the one dollar Mexican pizza you could get the other what was the other thing that they were giving out?
- 1:17:51Nora: Anyways, yeah, we love Taco Bell Taco Bell didn't do anything about the other night. It was delightful
- 1:17:57Chris: Yeah, no, it was a $1.00 enchirido on July 20
- 1:18:02Charles: You can get up to five of them that's like two meals wild yeah, that's more than two meals
- 1:18:12Charles: That's one that's one Charles meal
- 1:18:18Charles: All right, so back to it the FDA on July 18th
- 1:18:26Charles: then
- 1:18:27Charles: the day after they said that there was a false positive.
- 1:18:30Charles: Now what's very interesting about that whole thing-
- 1:18:35Nora: Is the first step in 2020.
- 1:18:37Charles: Yeah, but also just days before the backtrack,
- 1:18:44Charles: Taylor Farms actually went to the White House
- 1:18:47Charles: to meet with White House representatives
- 1:18:49Charles: to kind of talk about this after having donated
- 1:18:53Charles: over $4 million to the campaign,
- 1:18:57Charles: Which led to the potential false positive notification.
- 1:19:03Charles: There's some weird stuff going on here with all of this.
- 1:19:08Nora: This sucks.
- 1:19:10Nora: This timeline sucks, let me tell you guys.
- 1:19:13Nora: This is hard.
- 1:19:14Nora: This is, like the fact that our conspiracies
- 1:19:20Nora: are very, very might be true, it just sucks.
- 1:19:23Chris: Right.
- 1:19:23Chris: And I'm pulling up this particular source
- 1:19:26Chris: because it's CBS News, which has, you know,
- 1:19:29Chris: been alleged to be in the president's pocket.
- 1:19:32Chris: And the headline is,
- 1:19:33Chris: "Taylor Farms CEO pressed by lawmaker
- 1:19:36Chris: "over cyclospora outbreak and ties to White House.
- 1:19:39Chris: "The House Oversight Committee is investigating
- 1:19:41Chris: "whether Taylor Farms used its ties to the White House
- 1:19:44Chris: "to influence the federal response
- 1:19:45Chris: "to a nationwide cyclospora outbreak
- 1:19:47Nora: "linked to the company's recalled less."
- 1:19:50Nora: It's just a distraction
- 1:19:51Nora: from everything else that's going on.
- 1:19:52Nora: This is literally just a distraction
- 1:19:54Nora: from the Epstein files.
- 1:19:56Charles: Do you think that that's actually what this is?
- 1:19:59Charles: Do you think, I think it's just an extra example.
- 1:20:02Nora: I just think it's incompetence
- 1:20:04Nora: and then it's a distraction
- 1:20:05Nora: and it just like wastes everyone's time.
- 1:20:07Charles: Like a weaponized incompetence.
- 1:20:09Nora: It's weaponized incompetence and it just makes me mad
- 1:20:12Nora: because like why is the House Oversight Committee
- 1:20:15Nora: looking at how the White House was connected
- 1:20:18Nora: to Taylor Farms with the cyclospora outbreak
- 1:20:20Nora: when they could be looking into actual things
- 1:20:23Nora: that are happening?
- 1:20:24Chris: Right, it's true.
- 1:20:25Nora: I get to rack it.
- 1:20:26Chris: Well, they can do more than one thing at a time.
- 1:20:28Nora: Can they?
- 1:20:29Chris: In theory.
- 1:20:30Nora: (laughing)
- 1:20:31Nora: That's my point.
- 1:20:34Charles: So immediately after everybody started calling out
- 1:20:38Charles: the FDA for their shit about the negative,
- 1:20:43Charles: they immediately go, "Um, sorry."
- 1:20:45Charles: Literally for their shit.
- 1:20:47Charles: "Sorry, the false positive lab does not change
- 1:20:51Charles: "our recommendation to do this recall."
- 1:20:54Charles: And it's like, they are so all over the place,
- 1:20:59Charles: leading to RFK saying, "Everything's under control.
- 1:21:03Charles: "We're good, don't even worry about it, folks."
- 1:21:06Nora: Here's the thing, this won't die until it freezes.
- 1:21:10Nora: Like, this doesn't go away
- 1:21:12Nora: until we stop eating fresh produce.
- 1:21:14Nora: And the reason that it's happening in the first place
- 1:21:16Nora: is because the workers have such bad conditions
- 1:21:18Nora: that they have to shit in the fields
- 1:21:20Nora: because they're not even given bathroom breaks.
- 1:21:22Nora: Like, it all ties back to, like, human rights and stuff.
- 1:21:25Nora: Like, it's just, if we treat the workers right,
- 1:21:29Nora: things would be better.
- 1:21:30Nora: That's true.
- 1:21:31Nora: We wouldn't have this problem.
- 1:21:33Nora: But also, if the CDC was working,
- 1:21:35Nora: and the FDA was tracking the cyclospora outbreaks,
- 1:21:38Nora: and there weren't influences from the White House,
- 1:21:41Nora: I think things might be different.
- 1:21:43Nora: But I have literally gotten most of my information
- 1:21:47Nora: from social media, which has been more accurate
- 1:21:50Nora: than what the government is posting.
- 1:21:52Charles: Right, right, right.
- 1:21:55Nora: What is that?
- 1:21:56Nora: What is that?
- 1:21:57Charles: I have one final slide.
- 1:22:02Nora: How you doing today?
- 1:22:04Charles: I'm doing all right.
- 1:22:05Charles: My butt is doing fine at this point.
- 1:22:07Charles: It's been a wild ride.
- 1:22:10Charles: Sounds like it.
- 1:22:11Charles: But we're back to a nice, solid,
- 1:22:17Charles: I'm not doing this, I'm not doing this bit.
- 1:22:19Nora: Solid number two?
- 1:22:19Charles: Solid number two.
- 1:22:21Charles: You know, you know.
- 1:22:22Nora: My, oh.
- 1:22:23Nora: Oh God.
- 1:22:24Nora: And now it's time.
- 1:22:25Nora: Solid number two.
- 1:22:27Video: For tasty little guides.
- 1:22:30Nora: Speaking of solid number twos.
- 1:22:32Nora: Folks, we've had a lot of fun tonight,
- 1:22:35Chris: but it is Charles's birthday.
- 1:22:37Chris: But.
- 1:22:37Chris: Or was a week ago.
- 1:22:39Chris: So we thought it only appropriate
- 1:22:42Chris: to get them a lovely birthday present.
- 1:22:45Chris: And I believe Nora is going to show it on the screen here.
- 1:22:50Chris: Charles, we have got you ant sauce.
- 1:22:54Chris: Ants.
- 1:22:55Chris: If you saw the show three weeks ago now,
- 1:23:00Chris: the last time we did it, we touched briefly on this.
- 1:23:04Chris: This is a soy sauce-like substitute made entirely,
- 1:23:10Chris: well, or primarily of ants.
- 1:23:13Chris: This is a real product that's really made of ants,
- 1:23:16Chris: and we bought some to try out
- 1:23:19Chris: for in honor of Charles's anniversary of birth.
- 1:23:23Chris: All right.
- 1:23:23Nora: This says, "Finish the bottle
- 1:23:25Nora: "or all the ants died in vain."
- 1:23:27Nora: The ants would have died anyway.
- 1:23:28Nora: So don't guilt me about ants.
- 1:23:31Chris: That's fair.
- 1:23:32Nora: It was $19, but shipping was free.
- 1:23:35Chris: Okay.
- 1:23:36Chris: Shipping was free.
- 1:23:37Chris: They do have free shipping on all orders, which is nice.
- 1:23:40Charles: So I just wanna say first off,
- 1:23:43Charles: It says, "Ants add complex notes that are citrusy,
- 1:23:47Charles: "smoky, tangy, nutty, and rich.
- 1:23:49Charles: "Nature's wildest flavor.
- 1:23:51Charles: "The result is like soy sauce on steroids."
- 1:23:55Nora: And I would like to just,
- 1:23:56Nora: I don't know if we can catch this in the light,
- 1:23:59Nora: but like, it has bits in it.
- 1:24:01Chris: It has chunks.
- 1:24:03Nora: Like it has like-
- 1:24:04Chris: We'll show a close up here from your website.
- 1:24:07Nora: Yeah, it has bits in it.
- 1:24:10Nora: Do you see the bits?
- 1:24:11Chris: Those are ant bodies.
- 1:24:13Nora: Those are bits.
- 1:24:14Chris: Not antibodies, but ant bodies.
- 1:24:17Nora: So, let's shake it.
- 1:24:21Nora: It has bits in it.
- 1:24:23Charles: It says, "Sauce it, tag it, devour it, ant sauce CEO."
- 1:24:27Nora: Yeah, see, there's like, you can see the bits.
- 1:24:30Charles: I like the packaging, it's fun.
- 1:24:32Chris: I wanna smell this.
- 1:24:33Chris: And the outer packaging, which is in here,
- 1:24:36Nora: has ants all over it.
- 1:24:38Nora: Oh!
- 1:24:39Nora: That smells really good.
- 1:24:40Nora: That smells delightful.
- 1:24:43Charles: How would you describe the scent?
- 1:24:45Nora: It's almost like a teriyaki.
- 1:24:46Charles: Yeah, I wouldn't say it's like soy sauce.
- 1:24:48Charles: It's like the...
- 1:24:51Nora: It smells delightful.
- 1:24:52Charles: Like a Japanese barbecue sauce almost.
- 1:24:55Charles: Like it'd be really good on chicken?
- 1:24:56Nora: Yeah.
- 1:24:57Nora: Really good on chicken.
- 1:24:58Charles: Yeah, 100%.
- 1:24:59Nora: All right.
- 1:25:00Nora: So who's gonna cook with it first?
- 1:25:02Nora: (laughing)
- 1:25:03Chris: They recommend it for sushi.
- 1:25:05Chris: Oh, it's so liquidy, Nora.
- 1:25:07Charles: Oh no, oh no.
- 1:25:10Nora: Okay.
- 1:25:10Charles: Just like your asshole, Charles.
- 1:25:11Nora: So I put some on the plate and it's like,
- 1:25:14Charles: it's very liquidy. - Don't tilt it too much.
- 1:25:16Charles: Yes, it is.
- 1:25:17Nora: And there's a lot of bits in it.
- 1:25:18Charles: All right, so this is made of ants.
- 1:25:22Charles: Is it just ants?
- 1:25:23Nora: Like what is the-- - Water, ants,
- 1:25:25Nora: which they use the polyrhachis dives
- 1:25:30Nora: and for mica, quinolonia, salt, rice vinegar,
- 1:25:35Nora: onion, garlic, mushroom powder, xanthan gum.
- 1:25:38Charles: Okay, so ants is the number two.
- 1:25:40Nora: This says people are just a shellfish may be allergic to ants
- 1:25:44Charles: Okay, hold on. Are you allergic to shellfish? I'm not allergic to shellfish. However, well, I don't think so
- 1:25:49Charles: No, I don't think so. I'm not I'm not just
- 1:25:52Nora: Just a reminder everyone shrimp is bugs
- 1:25:55Charles: Shrimp is bugs bugs and shrimp answers bug answers shrimp
- 1:26:01Charles: So this is shrimp
- 1:26:02Chris: They do say in terms of safety that they are obsessed with safety
- 1:26:06Chris: Every batch is cooked, pasteurized, and packaged at our commercial kitchen in Austin, Texas.
- 1:26:12Chris: No shortcuts, just safe, delicious, and high-quality product every single time.
- 1:26:16Nora: Which means it's not pink sauce.
- 1:26:18Nora: Can you scroll down just a little bit further to that second question?
- 1:26:22Charles: Are you part of a global Who conspiracy to make people eat the bugs?
- 1:26:25Nora: No, they're not.
- 1:26:27Nora: [laughter]
- 1:26:28Nora: That was my first thought.
- 1:26:29Charles: With zero government funding or tinfoil hat overlords,
- 1:26:32Charles: our mission to make the most unique and flavorful products
- 1:26:35Charles: on the planet.
- 1:26:36Charles: Do they have multiple products?
- 1:26:38Chris: They have a couple of different varieties of ant sauce.
- 1:26:42Chris: There's a spicy one as well.
- 1:26:44Chris: Ooh, all right.
- 1:26:45Chris: Oh wait, no, there's a three pack.
- 1:26:46Chris: I don't know what the third, oh.
- 1:26:48Chris: There's original, spicy, and extreme heat.
- 1:26:50Charles: Ooh.
- 1:26:51Charles: All right, cheers.
- 1:26:52Nora: I dipped it in our corn chip, or Frito.
- 1:26:55Charles: We got Fritos here.
- 1:27:00Charles: I taste the Frito.
- 1:27:02Charles: Yeah, I know. We need something a little bit.
- 1:27:03Charles: Okay, we also got Lay's potato chips here.
- 1:27:06Charles: I'm dipping a finger. - I'm gonna do Lay's.
- 1:27:09Chris: You're dipping a finger?
- 1:27:12Chris: Okay, oh yeah. - It's salty.
- 1:27:14Chris: It's got a, you can feel the bits.
- 1:27:16Nora: You can feel the bits.
- 1:27:18Chris: You can feel the bits.
- 1:27:19Nora: Uh-huh.
- 1:27:23Nora: It smells better.
- 1:27:25Charles: It's not, yeah, it smells a lot better than it tastes.
- 1:27:27Charles: It is not anything like soy sauce,
- 1:27:30Charles: and they need to stop marketing it as soy sauce.
- 1:27:36Chris: I don't know how to feel about this.
- 1:27:38Nora: Oh, that's weird.
- 1:27:43Nora: I think I can taste the ants, unfortunately.
- 1:27:49Charles: Ugh, I got a weird aftertaste.
- 1:27:53Nora: It does have a weird aftertaste.
- 1:27:53Nora: I think I can taste the ants, unfortunately.
- 1:27:57Chris: Who knew folks that the ant sauce tastes like ants.
- 1:28:03Chris: This is disgusting.
- 1:28:06Charles: I was so excited because it smells so good.
- 1:28:10Chris: And folks, to be clear, this is not product placement. We were not paid for this.
- 1:28:14Chris: We spent our own money to purchase this sauce.
- 1:28:17Charles: Chris, how much did you spend on this?
- 1:28:18Chris: $19.
- 1:28:22Chris: Of personal funds, not company funds.
- 1:28:26Nora: What is this, a sauce made out of ants?
- 1:28:32Nora: Gross. - It's really gross.
- 1:28:34Nora: This is disgusting.
- 1:28:36Nora: It doesn't even look good.
- 1:28:38Nora: It has like, it has bits in it.
- 1:28:43Charles: This is so gross.
- 1:28:45Chris: I'm not having any more.
- 1:28:46Chris: I, I'm not crazy about the aftertaste.
- 1:28:49Chris: It's not something I would ever reach for
- 1:28:52Chris: if it were in my sauce cabinet.
- 1:28:54Chris: There's about a million different condiments
- 1:28:56Chris: I would try before this.
- 1:28:57Nora: I think I see a leg.
- 1:29:00Chris: You see a leg?
- 1:29:02Charles: I don't even wanna look.
- 1:29:04Nora: Maybe I'm just being hyperbolic, I don't know.
- 1:29:07Nora: Maybe it's the antenna.
- 1:29:08Charles: Okay.
- 1:29:09Charles: (dramatic music)
- 1:29:16Nora: Breaking news.
- 1:29:19Chris: Ant sauce is gross.
- 1:29:20Chris: (laughing)
- 1:29:23Charles: Back to you in the studio.
- 1:29:26Charles: Those are like, it's like full on bits of exoskeleton.
- 1:29:30Charles: It is.
- 1:29:33Nora: It doesn't taste like soy sauce.
- 1:29:35Chris: It doesn't.
- 1:29:36Nora: Not at all.
- 1:29:37Nora: I do taste a little bit of citrusy flavor.
- 1:29:41Chris: Sure.
- 1:29:42Nora: I think that's probably the ants.
- 1:29:47Nora: They're definitely out of flavor, but it's not.
- 1:29:51Chris: It's heavy on the garlic,
- 1:29:52Chris: Probably to mask the ants.
- 1:29:54Nora: I know.
- 1:29:55Nora: And it is kind of fun to look at all the bits,
- 1:29:56Nora: but it's not something I'd ever want to eat again.
- 1:29:58Chris: Fun is not the word I would use.
- 1:30:01Nora: Charles just enjoying himself.
- 1:30:02Nora: I can tell.
- 1:30:03Nora: A lot of fun right there.
- 1:30:04Chris: So Charles, you have wanted to talk about this topic
- 1:30:09Chris: for three weeks now.
- 1:30:11Chris: We know that you are excited.
- 1:30:13Chris: Tell us what's going on.
- 1:30:15Charles: Have you guys heard of Power Slap?
- 1:30:17Nora: No.
- 1:30:18Charles: Okay.
- 1:30:18Nora: Not prior to this.
- 1:30:19Charles: There is an offshoot.
- 1:30:21Charles: I think it's done by, is his name Dana White,
- 1:30:26Charles: the guy who does UFC?
- 1:30:27Charles: That's the UFC guy, yeah.
- 1:30:28Charles: Yeah, so it's an offshoot of his
- 1:30:31Charles: that is a professional slap tournament called Power Slap.
- 1:30:37Nora: My God.
- 1:30:39Chris: According to the website, Power Slap is the world's
- 1:30:42Chris: premier slap fighting organization licensed and sanctioned
- 1:30:45Chris: by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
- 1:30:48Chris: Led by Dana White, Power Slap features competitors
- 1:30:51Chris: across the globe battling on the ultimate stage
- 1:30:55Chris: to showcase their power, technique, and resolve.
- 1:30:58Chris: So I've got a few videos of power slapping.
- 1:31:02Nora: So what, the first person slaps
- 1:31:04Nora: and the second person slaps?
- 1:31:06Chris: There is a video where Dana White explains the rules.
- 1:31:09Chris: Oh, should we watch the rules?
- 1:31:11Chris: Sure.
- 1:31:12Chris: Let's see.
- 1:31:14Chris: (dramatic music)
- 1:31:18Charles: Oh.
- 1:31:19Charles: Thanks, Dana.
- 1:31:20Speaker 7: (dramatic music)
- 1:31:24Speaker 7: That's your measure.
- 1:31:30Video: He moved his head before he even sat down.
- 1:31:33Video: And he still landed clean.
- 1:31:34Video: Flinching!
- 1:31:35Video: Blue!
- 1:31:37Video: With any new sport, you have to have rules.
- 1:31:40Video: Here's how the rules for power slap are gonna work.
- 1:31:43Chris: A coin toss before every fight.
- 1:31:46Chris: Says the guy who got rich from people
- 1:31:48Chris: just beating the ever loving shit out of each other.
- 1:31:50Chris: You gotta have rules.
- 1:31:51Video: Gotta have rules for sport.
- 1:31:52Video: You slap first, and there's a maximum
- 1:31:54Video: three rounds in a fight.
- 1:31:55Video: In each round, the fighter will deliver
- 1:31:58Video: an open hand slap to the opponent's face.
- 1:32:00Video: At the start of the round, the striker has 30 seconds
- 1:32:03Video: to deliver the slap.
- 1:32:05Video: When slapped, you have 30 seconds to recover
- 1:32:07Video: and get back into fight position.
- 1:32:10Video: It's the ultimate test of toughness.
- 1:32:13Video: What about UFC?
- 1:32:14Video: During the fight, both fighters have to stand
- 1:32:16Video: in their zone with their feet parallel to each other.
- 1:32:19Video: The defender has to keep their shoulders square,
- 1:32:22Video: chin up, and both hands behind their back.
- 1:32:25Video: The striker has rules too.
- 1:32:26Video: Their feet have to stay in their zone
- 1:32:28Video: and always touching the floor.
- 1:32:30Video: Before the strike, they have to tell the ref
- 1:32:33Video: which hand they're gonna use
- 1:32:34Video: and how many warmups they'll do, which are wind-ups.
- 1:32:37Video: Red has chosen right two, right two.
- 1:32:41Video: A legal slap is flat.
- 1:32:43Video: Open-handed shot to the side of the face.
- 1:32:46Video: On the cheek.
- 1:32:47Video: Love that slow-mo.
- 1:32:48Video: Oh yeah.
- 1:32:49Video: (crowd cheering)
- 1:32:50Video: Boom!
- 1:32:51Video: You can't lead with the palm of your hand either.
- 1:32:54Video: The entire hand must land at the same time.
- 1:32:58Video: Flinching!
- 1:32:59Video: The defender can't flinch.
- 1:33:01Chris: That's a good way to rupture an eardrum.
- 1:33:04Video: No.
- 1:33:04Chris: We'll see some fun ones.
- 1:33:07Video: Might as well.
- 1:33:08Video: To point deductions to disqualifications.
- 1:33:11Video: By unanimous decision.
- 1:33:13Video: If a match goes three rounds,
- 1:33:14Video: the judges will render a decision
- 1:33:16Video: based on typical boxing or MMA point systems.
- 1:33:22Chris: That last part sounded like he just sort of made it up.
- 1:33:24Nora: Yeah, that was a made up rule.
- 1:33:25Charles: It just feels like most of the rules here are made up.
- 1:33:29Charles: Yeah.
- 1:33:29Charles: There is also a landing page on this site
- 1:33:33Charles: to sign up for Power Slap,
- 1:33:35Charles: and I did sign you up for Power Slap, Nora.
- 1:33:39Nora: Me?
- 1:33:39Nora: (laughing)
- 1:33:40Nora: Okay.
- 1:33:41Charles: We haven't heard back yet,
- 1:33:42Charles: but I did put your information in there,
- 1:33:45Charles: being like, "I'm a silly little guy
- 1:33:47Charles: "and I want a power slap."
- 1:33:48Charles: So we'll see if we get a response from Dana White
- 1:33:50Charles: about if you can join or not.
- 1:33:52Charles: Nora will be fighting this person.
- 1:33:54Nora: Oh God.
- 1:33:55Charles: Oh, she's a tough one.
- 1:33:57Nora: I don't wanna slap against,
- 1:33:58Nora: I don't wanna be slapped by her, no thank you.
- 1:34:00Chris: Just slap that collagen out of her lips.
- 1:34:02Nora: Oh, I mean that would, yeah.
- 1:34:04Charles: Oh my gosh.
- 1:34:05Charles: All right, so let's take a second
- 1:34:08Charles: and watch a few slaps that have been popping up
- 1:34:10Charles: on my TikTok feed.
- 1:34:15Nora: Oh.
- 1:34:17Nora: Oh!
- 1:34:20Chris: Damn.
- 1:34:30Nora: Did that tooth come out?
- 1:34:35Nora: Isn't this crazy?
- 1:34:37Nora: Wow, they're slapping the ever-loving shit
- 1:34:41Nora: out of each other.
- 1:34:42Charles: We're just touching the surface here.
- 1:34:47Chris: Just for a second, imagine a world
- 1:34:51Chris: where you come home to your parents
- 1:34:55Chris: after not seeing them for a long time
- 1:34:57Chris: and they say, "Hey, what's new in your life?"
- 1:35:01Chris: And you say, "I'm a power slapper."
- 1:35:06Nora: I slap people professionally for money.
- 1:35:09Nora: Yeah, I don't think I'd tell them that.
- 1:35:11Charles: Yeah.
- 1:35:11Charles: I'm gonna try the ant sauce with the Funyun.
- 1:35:14Charles: Oh dear God.
- 1:35:15Charles: So we got like the garlic flavor to it,
- 1:35:17Charles: and then onion, I feel like this is maybe
- 1:35:19Charles: a little bit better.
- 1:35:20Nora: You think?
- 1:35:21Nora: I don't think.
- 1:35:25Charles: That's edible.
- 1:35:27Nora: Are you sure?
- 1:35:27Nora: Yeah.
- 1:35:28Nora: Okay.
- 1:35:31Nora: I don't wanna eat it anymore.
- 1:35:33Nora: (crowd booing)
- 1:35:34Nora: Whoa.
- 1:35:37Video: He's out.
- 1:35:38Video: Crazy.
- 1:35:39Video: (crowd booing)
- 1:35:42Chris: (laughing)
- 1:35:45Chris: My God, man.
- 1:35:47Nora: I didn't know that you could slap somebody that hard.
- 1:35:49Chris: It just-
- 1:35:50Nora: To make 'em fall like that.
- 1:35:51Chris: Yeah.
- 1:35:52Chris: I mean, he was knocked the fuck out.
- 1:35:55Chris: That's crazy.
- 1:35:56Nora: Glass jaw, I guess, but.
- 1:35:59Charles: Like, these people are, like, strong
- 1:36:01Charles: at one very specific thing,
- 1:36:03Charles: which is slapping the shit out of each other.
- 1:36:05Charles: And it's like an open hand slap, too.
- 1:36:06Nora: Right, it's not even, it's a,
- 1:36:09Nora: you gotta do the full arm extension, you know?
- 1:36:11Nora: Like it's not even, oh man.
- 1:36:13Chris: Wait a second, you know who needs to join this?
- 1:36:15Chris: Remember the guy who turned his fists into glass?
- 1:36:18Nora: (laughing)
- 1:36:20Chris: You're talking about Fist of the Dog Medicine.
- 1:36:22Nora: Yeah, the amazing man.
- 1:36:24Nora: Oh, those slaps would fucking hurt.
- 1:36:27Charles: The problem is, is he has super powers now
- 1:36:29Charles: and that's not fair.
- 1:36:30Charles: I don't think Dana White's gonna allow.
- 1:36:31Nora: Basically a leather glove.
- 1:36:33Chris: I don't know, the end of that video
- 1:36:35Chris: just kinda sounded like, eh, whatever.
- 1:36:38Chris: (laughing)
- 1:36:39Nora: As long as there was another dog medicine guy
- 1:36:41Nora: that he could slap in.
- 1:36:44Chris: A second dog medicine guy.
- 1:36:46Chris: There we go, yeah, that'll be the dog medicine
- 1:36:49Chris: like invitational.
- 1:36:50Charles: Isn't he also like breaking, like shaving his elbow
- 1:36:54Charles: to make it sharper?
- 1:36:56Nora: He's sharpening his elbow.
- 1:36:57Charles: Or was that another guy?
- 1:36:58Nora: Maybe it was a different guy.
- 1:36:59Charles: I can't keep track of all your weirdos.
- 1:37:02Nora: Or maybe the dog medicine guy needs to go against the guy
- 1:37:06Nora: who does his hands in the beans, you know?
- 1:37:07Nora: Remember that guy in the-
- 1:37:08Charles: Yes, beans man.
- 1:37:11Nora: Those two need to slap each other.
- 1:37:13Charles: We need to check in on them.
- 1:37:14Charles: I have a squirrel king video for next week.
- 1:37:17Nora: Maybe next week we'll be like a-
- 1:37:20Chris: A check in?
- 1:37:20Nora: Check in with all of our favorites.
- 1:37:22Chris: I don't need to check in with people
- 1:37:24Chris: I didn't care about in the first place.
- 1:37:25Chris: I think we do.
- 1:37:26Nora: I do personally, and the girls does as well.
- 1:37:29Chris: I'm sorry.
- 1:37:31Chris: Every time we watch one of those videos,
- 1:37:32Chris: I feel like this.
- 1:37:35Video: Two.
- 1:37:36Chris: Ronda Rousey.
- 1:37:38Nora: Oh!
- 1:37:42Charles: Look at that guy's face right there.
- 1:37:44Charles: Holy shit.
- 1:37:44Charles: Look at him go.
- 1:37:45Nora: What?
- 1:37:46Nora: Why does he look like that?
- 1:37:48Charles: Oh.
- 1:37:49Charles: Wow.
- 1:37:49Nora: You know, these people smack the shit out of each other.
- 1:37:52Charles: Can we watch that one again?
- 1:37:53Charles: Yeah, let's watch it again.
- 1:37:55Chris: Two.
- 1:37:59Chris: Bam!
- 1:38:01Chris: He got hit twice.
- 1:38:04Chris: Also, I've always wondered what happened to Kid from Kid and Play,
- 1:38:07Chris: and now I know.
- 1:38:08Chris: (laughing)
- 1:38:09Nora: This guy looks like a cartoon character.
- 1:38:11Charles: He looks like he's wearing one of those, like,
- 1:38:15Charles: those raccoon hats.
- 1:38:17Nora: Yeah.
- 1:38:18Charles: Oh, like the Daniel Boone hat?
- 1:38:20Nora: I saw, I would have to send you a video later,
- 1:38:23Nora: I saw this Persian guy who has hair
- 1:38:25Nora: that also is in that shape on TikTok.
- 1:38:28Nora: I'm gonna have to show you guys him next week.
- 1:38:30Nora: Nice.
- 1:38:32Nora: Those are some slaps, man.
- 1:38:34Charles: We got the Women's League too.
- 1:38:36Nora: Women's League too?
- 1:38:40Nora: Whoa.
- 1:38:41Nora: Beautiful.
- 1:38:42Nora: Oh wow.
- 1:38:42Charles: She didn't even notice.
- 1:38:46Charles: My makeup.
- 1:38:49Nora: Badass.
- 1:38:50Charles: Holy fuck.
- 1:38:51Nora: That's badass.
- 1:38:52Nora: I love it.
- 1:38:54Charles: I'm obsessed.
- 1:38:55Charles: They do like one every quarter at this point.
- 1:38:59Charles: So we'll check back in and see if there's any good ones.
- 1:39:02Charles: That chick was like, "Anyone feel a draft?"
- 1:39:05Charles: The problem with a lot of the content that they post
- 1:39:08Charles: is they post weirdly AI'd videos
- 1:39:11Charles: of like the people, like their heads kind of like
- 1:39:16Charles: growing over time after they get hit
- 1:39:18Charles: from the Power Slap social media.
- 1:39:21Charles: And I'm like, why, you have good enough content,
- 1:39:24Charles: why do you need to like weirdly AI
- 1:39:26Charles: somebody's face exploding? - That's horrifying.
- 1:39:28Nora: That's fucking insane.
- 1:39:30Nora: That's a crazy, that's a crazy sport.
- 1:39:35Nora: I did not know that a slap could take you out like that.
- 1:39:39Charles: All right, you've got sports too.
- 1:39:40Nora: One way to find out, Nora.
- 1:39:42Nora: Okay, the last thing that we have for today is,
- 1:39:46Nora: well, I saw the slapping.
- 1:39:48Nora: I was like, that's a great sport.
- 1:39:50Nora: What about combat juggling?
- 1:39:52Nora: Have you ever heard of combat juggling?
- 1:39:54Chris: Not until today.
- 1:39:55Nora: This is also a sport.
- 1:39:58Nora: So maybe you can watch the first TikTok video.
- 1:40:01Nora: This is like, this is my introduction to it.
- 1:40:03Nora: And I was like, what the fuck is going on?
- 1:40:08Video: Whoa, Jesus.
- 1:40:22Nora: I don't know what this game is.
- 1:40:24Charles: Can I, can I just say the most shocking thing?
- 1:40:27Charles: Can we play that video one more time?
- 1:40:31Charles: No, no, no, no, that's not what I'm talking about.
- 1:40:33Charles: If we keep looking, just wait, just a second,
- 1:40:36Charles: we can kind of see it in the corner there.
- 1:40:37Charles: How about the fact that ESPN-
- 1:40:40Charles: ESPN is like a part of this?
- 1:40:42Charles: Yes, they sponsor combat juggling.
- 1:40:44Chris: This is officially ESPN 8, the Ocho.
- 1:40:47Charles: This is, Chris, I'm glad that you and I
- 1:40:50Chris: are on the same page about this.
- 1:40:52Chris: Yeah, if you hadn't brought it up, I was going to.
- 1:40:56Chris: (laughing)
- 1:40:57Nora: That was one of the things, it's like,
- 1:40:58Nora: should I bring this, 'cause it is ESPN.
- 1:41:01Nora: I don't want them to copyright our shit.
- 1:41:03Chris: No, that's fine, but yeah, that's fucking wild.
- 1:41:08Chris: I mean, good for them.
- 1:41:10Chris: Kudos to them.
- 1:41:11Chris: I mean, we devoted several weeks worth of programming
- 1:41:14Chris: to the Marble League, so we're no stranger to weird sports,
- 1:41:18Chris: but to see something that outside the norm
- 1:41:23Chris: being sponsored or presented by ESPN, good for them.
- 1:41:26Nora: That's fucking great.
- 1:41:28Nora: So this is sponsored by the World Juggling Federation,
- 1:41:33Nora: the WJF, and you can also be a monthly donor.
- 1:41:36Nora: And so they host different, you know, Olympic things.
- 1:41:40Nora: They're trying to get juggling as an Olympic sport
- 1:41:43Nora: is their big thing that they want to do.
- 1:41:48Nora: So they have a bunch of like,
- 1:41:49Nora: this is like all juggling sports.
- 1:41:51Nora: So, you know, this is people juggling, extreme juggling,
- 1:41:54Nora: like how many pins they're juggling.
- 1:41:56Nora: But the one that like really just blew my mind was the crypto.
- 1:42:01Nora: Oh, see, they do crypto was the, was the combat juggling.
- 1:42:05Nora: Like this is just, I don't, it's just on another, on another level.
- 1:42:11Nora: So basically combat juggling two teams, 10 combatants, 30 weapons.
- 1:42:17Nora: It's the world's most vicious and strategic club manipulators attack.
- 1:42:22Nora: or
- 1:42:24Nora: Yes, stroke strategic club manipulators attack and take each other down while maintaining control over
- 1:42:30Nora: gravity in a five on five five team deathmatch tournament, so
- 1:42:36Nora: each there's like
- 1:42:39Nora: Each team has to destroy the abilities the opposing
- 1:42:44Nora: team's ability to juggle so like you have to
- 1:42:48Nora: Interfere with it
- 1:42:50Nora: But there's there's rules
- 1:42:53Nora: when you're when you're
- 1:42:55Nora: Competing you have to be a really good juggler. So if you're not a really good juggler, you can't compete. So I'm sorry Charles
- 1:43:02Charles: You're not a combat juggler. I can juggle. You're not a combat juggler. Can you juggle and fight at the same time?
- 1:43:09Charles: Juggle these nuts in your mouth
- 1:43:18Nora: This is just a kind of a crazy like
- 1:43:23Nora: Competitive juggling like I never thought of juggling as a competitive thing. Like it's a display thing, right?
- 1:43:28Nora: Yeah, so there's some videos on on the YouTube playlist if you ever want to watch combat juggling. There's a YouTube playlist of this
- 1:43:35Nora: but I have a couple shorts that are just
- 1:43:45Nora: Like you really have to...
- 1:43:47Nora: Okay.
- 1:43:51Nora: This...
- 1:43:54Nora: I feel like I would end up bruised from all of these.
- 1:43:59Nora: What? Yeah.
- 1:44:02Nora: So they're juggling and trying to prevent other people from juggling.
- 1:44:07Chris: This is crazy.
- 1:44:11Nora: God damn it.
- 1:44:12Chris: That one is insane.
- 1:44:13Chris: Uh-huh.
- 1:44:14Chris: Literally catching strays.
- 1:44:15Nora: Uh-huh.
- 1:44:17Chris: I will say, I appreciate anyone who's innovating
- 1:44:20Chris: in the world of sports or sport adjacent activities.
- 1:44:24Charles: If there is any kind of sport that can keep my attention
- 1:44:28Charles: for any period of time, like this,
- 1:44:31Charles: like the power slap wrestling has lately.
- 1:44:35Nora: Yeah, well the teamwork with it,
- 1:44:36Nora: I feel like that, I don't know.
- 1:44:39Nora: It's like one of those things where you have to go
- 1:44:41Nora: touch grass and hang out with other people.
- 1:44:42Nora: I really like a new team sport.
- 1:44:44Nora: I need people to be hanging out with other people, you know?
- 1:44:48Charles: Chris, remind me. - Absolutely, yes.
- 1:44:50Charles: When is the wrestling thing?
- 1:44:51Nora: August 20th?
- 1:44:53Nora: 21st. - 21st.
- 1:44:54Charles: Okay, we're all going, right?
- 1:44:56Charles: Yes. - Okay.
- 1:44:57Nora: I'm not going.
- 1:44:59Nora: Can somebody drive me?
- 1:45:00Charles: Yeah, I think we'll all carpool, right?
- 1:45:04Charles: I just don't wanna drive my car down the interstate,
- 1:45:06Nora: 'cause any time I brake when I'm going about 60,
- 1:45:08Nora: my steering wheel does this.
- 1:45:10Charles: I think we'll find a place where we all can meet
- 1:45:13Charles: and then drive all together.
- 1:45:15Nora: So here, at the end of the month,
- 1:45:17Nora: you heard it here first, folks,
- 1:45:19Nora: we're gonna have a whole review
- 1:45:21Nora: of the Twilight-themed jokes, what is it?
- 1:45:25Nora: Laughs and-
- 1:45:27Nora: Lucha Libre and Laughs, yeah.
- 1:45:29Nora: Laughs and Lucha Libre.
- 1:45:31Nora: So, are you gonna put more ant sauce on those Funyuns?
- 1:45:35Charles: Yeah.
- 1:45:36Charles: I'm gonna do a little bit more.
- 1:45:38Charles: Gonna scoop it up.
- 1:45:39Nora: Oh.
- 1:45:40Charles: It's so chunky.
- 1:45:42Nora: There's so many bug pieces in it.
- 1:45:44Nora: There's so many pieces of bug.
- 1:45:46Nora: And I should have expected it.
- 1:45:48Nora: It's ant sauce.
- 1:45:49Nora: It's named ant sauce.
- 1:45:51Charles: The Funyuns cover up the flavor entirely,
- 1:45:54Charles: I think is why it's kind of nice.
- 1:45:56Nora: It's like eating the Dr. Pepper sausage
- 1:46:00Nora: with ketchup and mustard.
- 1:46:02Charles: Mm, yeah, that's gross.
- 1:46:04Charles: It's still gross.
- 1:46:04Nora: It was all, it's not good.
- 1:46:06Nora: Don't eat ant sauce.
- 1:46:08Nora: Bye folks.
- 1:46:09Nora: Unless you wanna eat bugs.
- 1:46:10Charles: Thank you so much for watching this week.
- 1:46:12Charles: Have a great week.
- 1:46:13Charles: We'll see you next week.

- 1:46:25Charles: Oh my gosh, happy birthday to you.
- 1:46:26Charles: Happy birthday Charles.
- 1:46:27Nora: It's a very young birthday.
- 1:46:29Charles: Bye.
