- 0:32This is Gracelyn Keller with the Becker's Healthcare
- 0:34podcast, and we are recording live at the
- 0:36thirteenth annual CEO and CFO roundtable.
- 0:39I'm currently joined by Jigger Tucker, who is
- 0:42the former chief administrative
- 0:44officer at OU Health.
- 0:46Thanks so much for joining today. I'm gonna
- 0:48have you just take a moment and introduce
- 0:50yourself, tell us a little bit more about
- 0:51your background. Yeah. Thank you, and thanks for
- 0:53having me. But, as you said, Jigger Tucker,
- 0:55I'm now the CEO of LongitudeRx.
- 0:58Very excited about being here and sharing what
- 1:00we do.
- 1:02Alright. So let's have our conversation start off
- 1:04with a little bit about your growth strategy
- 1:06over the next few years.
- 1:08So LongitudeRx
- 1:09was really founded by five major health systems,
- 1:12Providence Health, Baylor Scott and White, Memorial Hermann,
- 1:16Michigan Medicine, and Novant. So really a company
- 1:19that was founded by health systems for health
- 1:21systems.
- 1:22And we're really focused on bringing back,
- 1:24the specialty pharmacy opportunity back into health systems,
- 1:28which traditionally has been really dominated by payers,
- 1:31PBMs.
- 1:32And there's really a market need to integrate
- 1:35this care further and bring back the care
- 1:37within the health system side.
- 1:39Absolutely.
- 1:41And tell us about the most exciting or
- 1:43impactful initiative or project you're currently working on.
- 1:47Yeah. I I'd love to share. So if
- 1:48you look at, you know,
- 1:50I'll back up with the FDA pipeline.
- 1:53About 85%
- 1:54of the meds, in the FDA pipeline for
- 1:56this year, believe it or not, are considered
- 1:58specialty meds. And what's happening with health systems
- 2:01today is a lot of those patients are
- 2:03really
- 2:04getting a fragmented experience in their care because
- 2:08they're having to go to either many different
- 2:09pharmacies,
- 2:10or having to deal with financial assistance issues,
- 2:14financial toxicities with these expensive medications.
- 2:18And so one of the most meaningful things,
- 2:20that we've been able to do over this
- 2:22past year for our health systems is really
- 2:25start in,
- 2:26and honing in on that experience
- 2:28with the technology platform that we utilize,
- 2:31and really bring that care not only back
- 2:33inside the health system from a revenue perspective,
- 2:36but really from a patient experience perspective. We're
- 2:39highly focused on, you know, making sure that
- 2:42we're improving that experience,
- 2:44and and really keeping that at the center
- 2:46to make sure that the care is not
- 2:48fragmented for them.
- 2:51And what is the most important thing you
- 2:53think that health care executives should be doing
- 2:55right now to make sure their organizations are
- 2:57successful in the future?
- 2:58Yeah. One of the things I I tell
- 3:00health system executives is specialty pharmacy, whether you
- 3:04are following it or not, your patients are
- 3:06on those medications. Right? So any given health
- 3:09systems, about 20% of their net patient service
- 3:12revenue, believe it or not, now could be
- 3:14tied to specialty medications.
- 3:16So if you don't have really a care
- 3:18delivery platform
- 3:20that is helping you and your health system
- 3:22pharmacy team manage these patients,
- 3:25you're essentially not caring for a pretty significant
- 3:28portion of your population.
- 3:29And I think, traditionally,
- 3:31you know, health systems have started paying attention
- 3:33to this, but
- 3:35what they don't realize oftentimes is really the
- 3:38the complexity behind being able to actually take
- 3:41care of the total population.
- 3:43And then looking at even from the payer
- 3:45and PBM side, you know, what it really
- 3:48takes to actually get network access as well
- 3:50as what it really takes to manage it
- 3:52from a analytics,
- 3:54and a technology perspective. Right? So I think
- 3:56a lot of, you know, tools are out
- 3:58there in the market that are point solutions,
- 4:00but no one really is looking at it
- 4:02from an end to end perspective,
- 4:04like we are trying to do at LongitudeRx.
- 4:07Absolutely. Well, Chigurh, thanks so much for joining
- 4:09me today on the Becker's Healthcare Podcast. Again,
- 4:12we are recording live at the thirteenth annual
- 4:14CEO and CFO roundtable. Yeah. Thank you. Appreciate
- 4:17your time.
