- 0:00Breaking news in the garage area.
- 0:03You know it's serious when I put on my daddy Allison hat.
- 0:07Richard Childress, one of the most famous car owners in all
- 0:11the world. He was Dale Earnhardt Senior's
- 0:14car owner. The man in black #3 he's been in
- 0:18NASCAR as long as any car owner there's ever been.
- 0:22Rodger Penske, Rick Hendrick, they all admire, they love
- 0:27Richard Childress. Richard Childress on this
- 0:31Monday, November 24th comes out with a scathing press release.
- 0:37And I'm just going to paraphrase it for you.
- 0:39I'm I'm not a journalist, OK? We're just drinking beer here
- 0:43together. Richard Childress says I'm so
- 0:48disappointed in NASCAR, Phelps and Herbst, what they said about
- 0:54me after all these years I put into this sport.
- 0:57And at the very end he said we are going to look into legal
- 1:02action. OK, That's whoa, that's that's
- 1:07when it that's when it's like, OK, the press release was
- 1:10reading. I you know, Richard's pissed.
- 1:12We all know that they're cussing each other out and all these
- 1:15emails came out. So for the people that don't
- 1:19know, Michael Jordan, 2311, the owner and Front Row Motorsports,
- 1:26they're suing NASCAR for monopolistic practices now for
- 1:31the 22nd time of the year. I want to remind everybody,
- 1:36Judge Bell said years ago, that's how long it's been months
- 1:42ago. Judge Bell said, gentlemen solve
- 1:46this behind closed doors because the judge knew what he was
- 1:49talking about. He says you're getting ready to
- 1:51burn the house down. Now respond right here.
- 1:54How many times have I said Judge Bell said, fix it by yourself,
- 1:58guys, you're getting ready to burn the house down.
- 2:02This is what Judge Bell meant. And I've been reminding
- 2:05everybody over and over and over, Judge Bell knew that if
- 2:10they didn't solve it, contracts were going to come out, emails
- 2:16were going to come out, and it's all coming out.
- 2:20And what we found out is that NASCAR executives were bad
- 2:25mouthing everybody and anybody and, and people in the industry
- 2:31were bad mouthing each other. And this is what Judge Bell
- 2:35meant. You're going to burn the sport
- 2:36down because now that's what they're doing.
- 2:39First of all, it was just all it was was, you know, Michael
- 2:44Jordan and and front row going against NASCAR.
- 2:48Now Richard Childress comes out with this press release.
- 2:52It's World News. There it is.
- 2:54You read it. And Richard Childress at the
- 2:56very end says we're going to look into legal action.
- 2:59It's like, OK, now we got 2 lawsuits maybe, maybe we don't
- 3:04know. So when Judge Bell said you're
- 3:08going to burn the house down, this is exactly what he meant.
- 3:17It's like I said on coffee with Kenny, I can't believe I'm going
- 3:20to say this. Steve Phelps says to Herbst we
- 3:27need to take Richard Schiller's Outback and flog him.
- 3:33Google what flog means. I truly believe in my heart of
- 3:40all hearts that if Steve Phelps would have said, let's take him
- 3:44out back and beat his ass, that would have been all right.
- 3:48But the word flog, Google what flog means.
- 3:52It's very, very derogatory. Just Google it.
- 3:55It means whipped, tortured. So even my my oldest daughter
- 4:01Brooke, when I told, you know, my kids are like, what's going
- 4:04on dad And I said, oh, this one executive said they need to take
- 4:08Richard shivers Outback and flogging my daughter Brooke went
- 4:12she's like 3839 years old and she's like, dad, flog is a
- 4:15derogatory word that's bad. That means like whipped torture
- 4:21could be, you know, it's just not a good word to use.
- 4:24So if Steve would have said we need to take rich out and beat
- 4:28his ass. So here we are.
- 4:33This is a dark day for NASCAR and it's dark because
- 4:37everybody's calling me right now.
- 4:40We've had everybody call me, and I'm not bragging on myself.
- 4:44I'm just saying everybody's starting to panic.
- 4:48Will, are we going to Daytona next year?
- 4:51What happens if what happens if the judge says it's monopolistic
- 4:57practices that I mean, in the worst scenario, you know, like
- 5:02Microsoft, you know, you know, you can't be the only one to
- 5:04make a computer. Microsoft, they were the only
- 5:08ones making the computer for a little bit and there was a big
- 5:12lawsuit and it's like, OK, other people have to make a computer.
- 5:18And I, I just read this from some of the other journalists in
- 5:24NASCAR and they said, worst scenario, NASCAR gets split up.
- 5:30What does that mean? How does that look?
- 5:34So now I'm going to give my opinion.
- 5:39When you look at Formula One, they're owned by Liberty Medium,
- 5:44all right? When you look at NASCAR, they
- 5:49are my life. I want you all to know how much
- 5:52I love NASCAR. Now I'm I'm getting ready to,
- 5:56I'm getting ready to say something I don't want to say,
- 5:58but I want you to know how much the France family means to me.
- 6:02I love the France family. I watched the original Big Bill
- 6:06on the back straightaway in a wheelchair.
- 6:10Towards the end of his life he had a caretaker push him in that
- 6:13wheelchair trying to eat a little hot dog eat.
- 6:16I even remember had a little mustard on him.
- 6:19To this day it's burnt into my brain.
- 6:21I'm like, and I was the only one that saw it and I'm looking, I'm
- 6:25like, my God, there he is. Big Bill France.
- 6:28Watching. It was practice at Daytona
- 6:31during speed weeks and the cars were coming down the back
- 6:34straight away. That was the day they could
- 6:38rule. I'll never forget his son, you
- 6:42know, Bill France Junior, smoking a cigar and he had a
- 6:46beer. Herman, you're in trouble.
- 6:52And then Mike Kelton called me up and said, Herman, do you want
- 6:56me to be the one to end your career?
- 6:59You're not the only one in this sport.
- 7:02And they fined me $10,000 for not obeying the caution flag.
- 7:06They threw the caution flag and I'm like, I'm not listening.
- 7:10And they said to me, come to the NASCAR trailer.
- 7:13And I and I told, I told them, you tell NASCAR you never saw
- 7:16me. I made it to the airport and,
- 7:20and Bill France, we're at the rental car handing in our keys.
- 7:24And he says, boy, you're in trouble.
- 7:27My point is this, those days are gone.
- 7:31There's nobody in NASCAR scaring us like Big Bill and Bill Junior
- 7:39and Mike Helton. They're all gone.
- 7:43The guys that scared us, they're gone.
- 7:47You know, some people can say it's a dictatorship.
- 7:50I'm like, that's a pretty strong word.
- 7:52That's kind of like Julius Caesar.
- 7:55But it worked because Big Bill, Bill Junior and Mike Helton,
- 8:03they were men and they scared the hell out of me.
- 8:06So here's where I'm going with this.
- 8:10NASCAR has got so big that is outgrown them.
- 8:16You look at Formula 1A Media Group owns them.
- 8:19Now we're dealing with $1 billion a year contracts.
- 8:27Is it time for NASCAR to sell to NBCI?
- 8:31Mean Fox bought a third of Rodger Penske's IndyCar.
- 8:37Rodger Penske owns IndyCar. If Fox TV can buy a third of
- 8:42IndyCar, if Liberty Media Group can own Formula One, has the has
- 8:51the sport of NASCAR got so big that it is passed NASCAR?
- 8:56The family hasn't passed them up.
- 9:00I hope not. I love Leslie Kennedy.
- 9:03Les. I love you, Ben.
- 9:06You know, you're one of my favorite.
- 9:07We've done Kenny conversation. I love you.
- 9:11I sure do. Miss Bill Junior.
- 9:14He was a hoot. We're playing softball together.
- 9:17He's smoking that cigar. The damn the boss of NASCAR,
- 9:21smoking a cigarette, drinking a beer, and I go where I'm sitting
- 9:24on the picnic bench with him. Back in the bushcraft national
- 9:27days. That's why it worked back then.
- 9:32Guys, I'm going to leave you with this.
- 9:34There's too much money involved now.
- 9:38Is it time for NASCAR to sell? I have no idea how we get out of
- 9:45this mess. All right, everybody respond
- 9:48right here. But that's my take.
- 9:51I feel horrible making this video, but I've been encouraged
- 9:56by my friends, my YouTube manager, Charlie Marlow, and
- 10:01I've got some pretty serious phone calls today, so I'm
- 10:05responding. I was going to wait for a coffee
- 10:07with Kenny in the morning. I feel hot.
- 10:12My heart's pounding. All right, I love you all.
