- 0:21All right, well, welcome to the Mark Driscoll Show.
- 0:23I am Landon Chase, and today Pastor Mark Driscoll is joined
- 0:26by Pastor Josh McPherson from Washington State, and Josh is
- 0:30preparing for Freedom Con Rise of the Statesman, a massive
- 0:35Father's Day weekend gathering at the Gorge for Christian men,
- 0:39dads, sons, pastors and leaders. Today we're talking about strong
- 0:43men, spiritual warfare, repentance, and what it means to
- 0:46fight for your family, your state.
- 0:48Pastor Mark, I'll bring you into these questions right alongside
- 0:51Josh. So it's going to be a good time.
- 0:53You're actually from Washington State, for those of you that
- 0:57don't know. Yeah, I did a tour of duty there
- 0:59for a bit a lifetime ago, yeah, and have since moved to America
- 1:05and live in Arizona. Not praise God.
- 1:08Yeah, praise God, I'm gonna be married to your daughter if you
- 1:10hadn't. Moved.
- 1:11No, and we wouldn't have my grandson, so we all won on this.
- 1:14Yeah, So Pastor Josh, tell us about Freedom Con, Rise of the
- 1:18Statesman. Why is this burden been put on
- 1:20your heart and why is it so important at this moment in
- 1:23history? First of all, thanks for having
- 1:25me on guys. Love you Landon.
- 1:27Love you Pastor Mark. Honored to be with you guys.
- 1:29Always fun. We've been doing this.
- 1:31We call it the Stronger man conference.
- 1:34Every year thousand men rally. We have 1015 hundred guys show
- 1:36up at our church. When you been before we started
- 1:39six years ago. First one was battle ready as
- 1:42men want to be battle ready. Second one was forged.
- 1:44Men are forged, not just born. Third was into the breach.
- 1:47Men going to the breach defensively and offensively as
- 1:50attacking the the gates of hell. The fourth was kill Dragons
- 1:53because that's the primary job that every man wakes up in the
- 1:55morning. And the last one was the
- 1:56brotherhood. That was that was the last five
- 1:59years. And last year, as we thought
- 2:00about this year in particular, we were looking ahead.
- 2:03It's the Super Centennial, as we're calling it, the 250
- 2:06anniversary of our nation. We want to do something special.
- 2:09We called it freedom and kind of tucked it away.
- 2:11Well, then in September, of course, Charlie was murdered
- 2:14wearing the freedom shirt. And all of us just kind of woke
- 2:17up to the reality of the of faith under fire and attack in
- 2:20our nation, both ideologically, politically, and and violently.
- 2:25And God just began growing this in her heart.
- 2:27It it we need to. Gather the men not at an event,
- 2:30not even even at a conference, but a Congress.
- 2:33We've been using the language Congress.
- 2:35And so we're calling it Rise of the Statesman, a Congress of
- 2:38Christian men, because it was a Congress of Christian men that
- 2:41founded this nation 250 years ago.
- 2:44And we believe it's going to be a Congress of Christian men that
- 2:46will preserve this nation and, and save it.
- 2:49And I was telling Pastor Mark a couple a couple weeks ago, we
- 2:52are praying about it because let's be honest, the timeline is
- 2:54short. We should not be trying to do
- 2:56this with the timeline we have, which makes it kind of fun.
- 3:00And and we thought, you know, maybe we can't get the word out
- 3:03in time, but if we can, what if a giant massive historic sized
- 3:08Congress or Christian man showed up at this conference to talk
- 3:12about the noble role of statesman because it was the
- 3:15statesman, the founder of this nation and it'll be statesman
- 3:17that preserve it. And for us, of course, the
- 3:20historical significance of being on our tour with anniversary.
- 3:23But I was telling Pastor Mark, if in 100 years from now, our
- 3:28nation is still here as a Christian nation, which is a
- 3:30huge if. And she may not be taken for
- 3:32granted because that is not the given scenario.
- 3:35Most nations devolve. Most nations implode.
- 3:39I think the national or the national, the historical rate of
- 3:44constitutional republics is about like 11-12, thirteen
- 3:47years. That's how long they make it.
- 3:49Ours is made at 250. If we're to make it 100, another
- 3:52100 years, it'll be because of a massive work of God's grace and
- 3:56a revival in the hearts of the men that worked itself out in
- 4:00Reformation in the public square.
- 4:02And if that happens, and if our nation is here in 100 years, I'm
- 4:06praying that they won't be able to tell the story of our nation
- 4:08without telling the story of this weekend.
- 4:10A historic gathered of men who resolved to be statesman, who
- 4:15resolved to take responsibility to leave it better than they
- 4:17found it. And that is not the trajectory
- 4:19that we are currently on. And for for me as a man, Landon,
- 4:23it just, it just begins to increasingly irk me that the
- 4:26America I was born into would be categorically worse than the
- 4:30America I left when I die. And that in that time I, I grew
- 4:34up, I married, I had kids, and then I left them something worse
- 4:38than I was handed when I was born.
- 4:40And so for me, it just became a sense of burden and
- 4:43responsibility as a man. Like the first lesson my dad
- 4:47taught me as a boy growing up, you leave the better than you
- 4:49found it. And my mom applied it to my
- 4:52bedroom. And then my dad applied it to
- 4:54the his car that I borrowed and his guns that I would borrow to
- 4:57take hunting and his tools that I would borrow to build things.
- 5:00And if I return what he gave me and entrusted to me in worse
- 5:04condition, there was discipline. Because the first lesson
- 5:07MacPherson household was we leave things better than we
- 5:09found it. And for us, it feels like this
- 5:12nation is a sacred trust that we've been entrusted to steward.
- 5:17And if we don't do everything we can to leave it better than we
- 5:19found it, we haven't been faithful with it.
- 5:21And good men took risk and and and sacrifice and bled to give
- 5:26us something noble and beautiful and really unlike anything else
- 5:29we've experienced in history. This is an experiment in freedom
- 5:32at the democratic, public, civil magistrates level that we've
- 5:36never seen in history before. And if we lose it, it'll be very
- 5:39hard to get back. And so that's the bit of the
- 5:42burden behind. And I, frankly, quite frankly, I
- 5:45think that there are hundreds of thousands, if not millions of
- 5:48men who feel the same. They love our nation.
- 5:51They recognize the sacrifice it took to build this, and they're
- 5:55unwilling to lose it. The question often becomes,
- 5:57well, what do I do? And So what I've been saying,
- 6:00Landon, is I want Freedom Conference to give men hope, but
- 6:04hope isn't a strategy, right? And so we're going to give men
- 6:07hope by giving men a strategy, because although hope isn't a
- 6:11strategy, strategy imparts hope. And so we want to invite men to
- 6:16this place. And I've gathered the best men I
- 6:18know, the greatest, the most biblical, the most godly
- 6:22statesman and theologians and authors and veterans and
- 6:27politicians and leaders that I know to speak into this event
- 6:31that I hope will be like kind of like the decisive clinic on
- 6:34statesmanship to equipment to know what to do, how to do, when
- 6:38to do it. I was on the phone with Nick
- 6:40Freitas a few days ago and he was saying one of his
- 6:43frustrations is he regularly gets complained to in his office
- 6:47as as a representative there in Virginia, I think it's Virginia
- 6:51House Representatives, Virginia. Is that right?
- 6:53He say he regularly gets complaints about things he can't
- 6:56do anything about because people don't understand simple civics.
- 7:00And the point he made was this, you can't claim to love
- 7:03something you don't know anything about.
- 7:07And so he has hard just to educate men as to our
- 7:09constitutional Republic and not only the rights and freedoms,
- 7:12but responsibilities and privileges that we have as
- 7:15citizens. And so helping Christians
- 7:18understand that being a good citizen, I believe is an
- 7:20expression of being a good Christian and how we love our
- 7:24neighbor as ourself. And so, yeah, I, I, I got AI got
- 7:28a huge heart for it. Big dreams, big aspirations, big
- 7:31hopes and prayers that God would use this in the hearts of
- 7:33fathers and sons. First of all, to draw them
- 7:35closer to Jesus. Because without that, we got
- 7:37nowhere to go and nothing to offer to draw fathers hearts to
- 7:40their sons and sons of their fathers.
- 7:42I want to see men get saved, men get closer to Jesus.
- 7:45And then I want to see men get a holy, the ambition for their
- 7:47life because you have nothing to offer as a statement to your
- 7:50nation if you haven't first done something in your nation like
- 7:53get married, start a family, build a business, help a church,
- 7:57get strong, grow a home that thrives.
- 7:59So yeah, man, we're going to hit all the men across all of the
- 8:02spectrums and seasons of life from every state.
- 8:05We've only had a registration open a few days.
- 8:08We've got over 1000 men already signed up in just a few days, 21
- 8:11States and it's picking up momentum and we think it's going
- 8:13to be a party. It's a real, real practically.
- 8:16So it's it's a men's Congress. You're going to have worship,
- 8:21you're going to have teaching. It's going to be also a great
- 8:23connecting time for fathers and sons.
- 8:26And it's Father's Day weekend. And so the timing is really
- 8:31incredible. The location for those who are
- 8:34not up to speed is the Gorge Historic Outdoor Concert Venue
- 8:39on the Columbia River. I mean, documentaries have been
- 8:42written about it. It is.
- 8:43It is the outdoor Amphitheatre of the nation.
- 8:45And the name of the town that the event is in is George.
- 8:50The state that it's in is Washington.
- 8:53So for Father's Day weekend, the 250th anniversary birthday of
- 8:59the nation, you're calling a Christian men's Congress to
- 9:04George Washington. Let's go.
- 9:07Here's the crazy thing about that is I, I got a pastor on my
- 9:11on my staff who looked this up. He goes bro 200 and 15251 years
- 9:16ago, George Washington signed his Commission papers to become
- 9:22the general of the Continental Army.
- 9:24He did it on June 19th, 1775 and it put him in charge of 15,000
- 9:29men. And with those 15,000 men, he
- 9:32pushed back the British tyranny. And one for US, freedom to birth
- 9:34the nation 251 years to the day mark.
- 9:38We're going to gather on June 19th to kick off Father's Day
- 9:41weekend with not a Continental Army, a Kingdom army.
- 9:45And we're praying for another 15,000 men.
- 9:47And those 15,000 men aren't going to burn the nation.
- 9:49They're going to save a nation. And we're going to do it in an
- 9:51amphitheater built in the town called George Washington.
- 9:55If that's not destiny, bro, I don't know what is.
- 9:57I mean, let's go. Well, Pastor Mark, Pastor Mark,
- 10:01you don't say it's been a couple years since you've been in a
- 10:03men's conference. Yeah, and it's not because I'm
- 10:07turning down all my requests. It's not like I am so wanted
- 10:14that I have to decline. I'll be honest, I don't get to
- 10:17leave home much and I don't get requests to go anywhere.
- 10:22He's he's underselling himself. We do get requests, but why is
- 10:26this men's conference? Why do you feel like it's
- 10:29important to fly up to? It's not easy to get there for
- 10:32you, it's necessarily convenient, but why is this so
- 10:36important for you to join and be part of this?
- 10:38Well, Josh is a very dear friend of 15 years and a brother and if
- 10:44he feels called to do something that I want to go help and
- 10:47support and I want to bring as many men with me as I can and as
- 10:50much resources as I can. And so for me, what he is trying
- 10:55to do is tragically, desperately needed.
- 10:59And I believe that the window of opportunity is actually closing.
- 11:04And once this administration is over, if, if things don't go the
- 11:09right direction, then this is a this is a window of opportunity
- 11:12that we must strategically avail ourselves to.
- 11:15And I think the 250th anniversary of the nation, we
- 11:19had founding fathers. And what we need now is we need
- 11:22fathers and and we're missing, we're missing men who think and
- 11:27act like fathers with generational legacy and and
- 11:30greater good, you know, in heart and in mind.
- 11:33And so, but the maybe tell them a little bit about you got a
- 11:37pretty incredible lineup. I mean, you got other than me.
- 11:41It looks very impressive, you know.
- 11:47Oh, I I, I can't confirm. We have yet to book any any pole
- 11:50dancers so. Do my only request after my
- 11:54session, not before, after. That's my You're OK?
- 11:59With it, just put them after your session.
- 12:01Like marks on the plane, Now's go time.
- 12:03Bring that guy in from the bullpen.
- 12:09Yeah, Well, honestly, when I started thinking about this
- 12:13event, we wanted to reach out, of course, all the men in the
- 12:15nation. I had a sense that guys want to
- 12:17do something significant like I did.
- 12:18Like I want to celebrate our country.
- 12:20And to your point where we know we got games, competition stuff
- 12:23for the boys, stronger boy way challenges.
- 12:25We're going to have side stage events.
- 12:27We have live podcast events, recorded a lot of really
- 12:31incredible voices nationally. They're going to be very
- 12:33available locally. And so I start going down my
- 12:36list of friends and you know, Mark and I talked about this,
- 12:39it's like I just started reaching out to my buddy.
- 12:43So John Lovell, who leads Warrior plus society, he's the
- 12:45best. He's he's just the best.
- 12:47He's he's a theologian, he's a husband, he's a father, he's a
- 12:50loving father. He's a remarkable husband.
- 12:53He's a preacher, he's a, a philosopher, he's soldier.
- 12:58What's that? And he's a soldier.
- 13:00And he's a veteran. He's faithfully served as as
- 13:04country as kind of a door kicking meat eater or in the
- 13:06sandbox. And then, you know, does the gun
- 13:08training thing and warrior plus society thing and he's funny,
- 13:13he's intelligent. He's kind of a he's he's been
- 13:15out here for our bector West University class teaching
- 13:18apologetics. He's just incredibly sharp.
- 13:20He's coming. I love that man.
- 13:22And whenever he talks, I listen because he's got a heart for the
- 13:24Kingdom. He's got a mind for the word and
- 13:27he's got an eye to the culture. And I think one of things that
- 13:30marks all the men coming, Pastor Mark, is there men who
- 13:34understand the times and, and, and that that that passage,
- 13:38pastors like to quote it, you know, in first Chronicles there
- 13:41that, you know, we got to be men of Issachar who understood the
- 13:43times, but they they missed the second part.
- 13:46And they knew what to do. Yeah, but, but, but, but even
- 13:50more than that, they were, they were, they understood the times
- 13:52and they knew what Israel should do.
- 13:56They they were statesman. Yeah.
- 13:58The the, the, the knowledge and wisdom that God gave them and
- 14:02the discernment that they possessed was direct, was
- 14:04applied directly to their nation.
- 14:06They knew what their nation should do, and so all the men
- 14:09coming are are men Who else who? Else going to be there.
- 14:13Yeah, so, so John Lovell's coming.
- 14:15Eric Metaxas, best selling authors coming.
- 14:17He's got a new book releasing this summer to honor our 250
- 14:21anniversary on the Revolution. We're going to be giving out a
- 14:24bunch of free copies of that. So John Lovell, Eric Metaxas,
- 14:27Graham Allen of Hey America, love that guy.
- 14:31Tim Barton, Dave Barton, They are historians in their own
- 14:34right. Pastor Ryan Visconi from
- 14:36Generations Church in Arizona. He's a good, good man.
- 14:39Josh Howerton from Lake Point Church in the the wildest
- 14:43successful Live free podcast. Josh is going to be there.
- 14:46Russell Johnson, the fire of Iowa preacher.
- 14:48From what he says, he looks like Antifa preaches, like Spurgeon.
- 14:54He's over there in Seattle. Nick Freitas is going to try to
- 14:59join us. He's got a conflicting event.
- 15:00If you don't join us, he'll be there with a video.
- 15:03Of course, Adam James will be there myself.
- 15:05Nate Schatzline, who is a state representative in Texas, if
- 15:10you've had, if you've heard of any legislation that's come out
- 15:12of Texas in the last six years that you cheered for, he was
- 15:15probably the behind the sponsoring it or a huge part of
- 15:18its success. Who else?
- 15:20I think I'm missing something. What about on the worship music
- 15:23side? What are you looking at?
- 15:25So we've got David Crowder coming, which is wild.
- 15:28Like David Crowder kicked off my my love for worship music when I
- 15:34was in college. He's coming back to he's still
- 15:37got the grunge country vibe going.
- 15:40He's going to be there. Danny Gokey is coming.
- 15:44And then we're trying to get let's use this, let's use this
- 15:47podcast to recruit him. What's the thing that guy that
- 15:49he said we should? Get you want Steven Mcwhorter.
- 15:51Dude, that guy is a dude. I watched it.
- 15:54I watched my first video of him last night.
- 15:56That guy can sing. Yeah, he's, yeah, he's he's an
- 15:58enjoyable guy. So if you see this, please get
- 16:01yourself, Sir, a plane ticket and find a place called George
- 16:04in the state called Washington around Father's Day.
- 16:08We would. Love to have you there I'm I'm
- 16:10called the speaker list to make sure I didn't miss anybody
- 16:11because that's. A remarkable list.
- 16:13You got the Bartons. You got first and second Barton.
- 16:15Yeah. I got Josh Howerton, Eric
- 16:17Metaxas, John Lovell, Adam James, Graham Allen, Russell
- 16:20Johnson, Nick Freitas, Mark Driscoll, Ryan Visconi, Tim
- 16:24Barton, Dave Barton, Nate Chadstein and Chad Robuchaw.
- 16:27Oh yeah, bro, that's that's a lineup of dudes that that might
- 16:31be the greatest lineup in the history of men's conference.
- 16:33Everyone that everyone's guys is a main state speaker anywhere
- 16:38they go, and they're all going to be there.
- 16:40And the cool thing is we're all buddies, we're all friends,
- 16:42we're all brothers. Bring their wives, bringing
- 16:44their kids, hanging out as families, just making good
- 16:47battle together, celebrating manhood and masculinity,
- 16:50celebrating statesmanship, celebrating our nation.
- 16:53It's going to be a party, man. Awesome.
- 16:56Awesome. Josh, you keep throwing the word
- 16:59statesman out there. You want to explain that a
- 17:01little more for the average blue collar guy?
- 17:03That's like, OK, I like that term.
- 17:05I've heard it, but what does it mean?
- 17:07What does it mean for the typical?
- 17:08Dude, that's a that's a big word for a homeschool kid.
- 17:11So I just wanted to, I just want to give you a little shout out
- 17:15for the big word. I I looked it up and practice it
- 17:18five times before we came online just to get it right.
- 17:20States man ship. States man ship.
- 17:23Yeah. So honestly, I'll answer it
- 17:26briefly, but that's kind of the conference is for like come to
- 17:28the conference, we're going to answer it.
- 17:30We may even make some live stream possibilities available
- 17:33if you can't fly out and you can't make it.
- 17:36But statesmanship, I think is the lost art of our day when it
- 17:40comes to roles that God has called men to step into in their
- 17:44masculinity. And so we when we think of men
- 17:46in their roles, we think protect the provider, leader, lover,
- 17:49which is good and right. That's kind of the, the, the,
- 17:51the, the, the, the quadrant that we work with a stronger nation.
- 17:56God calls us to be soldiers, farmers, athletes, sons,
- 17:59soldiers, farmers, athletes, sons, protectors, providers,
- 18:01leaders, lovers, and that means a good family man and a good
- 18:04church man and a good marketplace man.
- 18:06But this idea of statesman is, is someone who cares for the
- 18:10well-being of the broader community he's a part of in his
- 18:14nation and endeavors to make decisions sacrificially for the
- 18:18good of that nation, not just for the good of a political
- 18:21party. And so statesmanship is this
- 18:23noble idea that rises above politics.
- 18:27And again, I, I don't want to downplay politics because
- 18:29politics is just that, you know, the, the affairs of the city,
- 18:31right politica and, and, and so politics are the affairs of the
- 18:35city. But the word politics is just so
- 18:37laden with baggage and frustrations and partisan
- 18:40whatever and compromise this and that.
- 18:43Statesmanship is that noble role that God calls men to step into
- 18:47where they're sacrificially working for the good of a broad
- 18:50amount of people, bringing the knowledge they've gained over
- 18:54time and wisdom that they've gained from their experience as
- 18:57a husband, as a dad, as a businessman, to now wield that
- 19:00influence for the good of their nation.
- 19:03And I think it's a role that's missing.
- 19:05And and the church by and large, has it valued statesmanship and
- 19:09the pulpits have it taught a public theology for
- 19:12Christianity. And so my hope is this
- 19:14conference reclaims the nobility of statesmanship, both as a
- 19:18season of life endeavor that some men are in, but not walking
- 19:21out. And that's something for young
- 19:23men to to have ambition for, but to prepare for it now by being a
- 19:29noble man worthy of being a statesman later.
- 19:32It's awesome. Thank.
- 19:33Thank you, Josh for I think that's very helpful for the
- 19:36average guy to understand. So most of our audience.
- 19:41Just just not interrupted. I'm an average guy and and I'm a
- 19:45little behind the curve. I haven't been like thinking
- 19:48like this and saying this for the last 25 years.
- 19:51I'm 46 years old and it's been a necessity.
- 19:54I've got a 20 year old, a 19 year old, a 16 year old and a 13
- 19:57year old. One's married, the other one
- 19:59just moved out and they're trying to find jobs, buy a home,
- 20:02afford car insurance. And all of a sudden I'm
- 20:05realizing the politicians who are making real decisions
- 20:09legislatively in my state are making it so hard for the
- 20:12average person to thrive that unless you started 20 years ago,
- 20:16it's going to be hard to start anything now.
- 20:18And so for me, it's really coming out of my desire to be a
- 20:21good dad. I want a community and a state
- 20:24and a nation where my kids can be protected and they have
- 20:27opportunity to thrive. And so it's really stemming out
- 20:30of my desire to be a good dad. And so I'm just going to if guys
- 20:33out there they feel like behind or are they they're not in the
- 20:36end of the conversation or are they kind of shy away from
- 20:38politics? Hey, man, I'm with you.
- 20:40I that has not Barkley type list for 15 years.
- 20:43Politics isn't our thing. We love the Bible and Jesus and
- 20:46the church and our kids and our family, and that's where we want
- 20:50to live. Damn government that gets in the
- 20:52way. OK.
- 20:52And so you got to deal with politics in the same way.
- 20:56You know if there's a deer in the middle of the road, you know
- 20:59you may need to run it over to get home.
- 21:06There is one way to look at it. Yeah.
- 21:08So so the. The line, the line I've heard
- 21:11both you men say at different times, is you come from the
- 21:14future because of Washington state.
- 21:16If you live in the People's Republic of Washington, you have
- 21:19seen the future and it is not good.
- 21:22I want to talk about why should somebody come from out of state?
- 21:25So most of the people watching this right now are not from
- 21:27Washington State. Likely there's probably some of
- 21:30you out there. So thank you for tuning in
- 21:32Washington state, but you both come from the future because
- 21:35it's Washington State. It unpacked that a little bit.
- 21:37And why these men? So there so there are
- 21:39strategically places in the country where they are labs for
- 21:44progressive demonic ideology. And so Washington state is the
- 21:50lab rat for the United States of America.
- 21:54Every stupid, you know, bad policy decision, every woke
- 22:00tranny agenda, every socialistic, you know, cranial
- 22:04rectal insertion attempt happens in a place like Washington,
- 22:11right? And then they they, then they.
- 22:14Home schooled. I took me a while to put the
- 22:16work together. I I think I saw where you were
- 22:18going there. They, they, they will, they will
- 22:21feel tested in a place like Washington, knowing that it you
- 22:26couldn't start in a place like Alabama where people are
- 22:29heterosexual and armed and sober.
- 22:32And so you've got to go to a place like Washington, and then
- 22:36you field test the idea. And then once it's into the
- 22:39system, then it works into Oregon and California.
- 22:43And from there, you know, so Washington is in large part the
- 22:47infection point. It is bright blue from head to
- 22:52toe. It is far left.
- 22:54It is progressive, and it is a generation ahead of the rest of
- 22:58America and the West Coast. So if you are there, you are
- 23:03seeing the future. We're talking about this
- 23:05Washington state never makes the news.
- 23:07And part of that I believe is absolutely a progressive media
- 23:11cover up. So they get away with field
- 23:14testing stupid ideas there. Now, usually by the time the
- 23:17infection moves from Washington to California, that's when it
- 23:21hits the news. But make no mistake, the
- 23:24infection in California, it it started in Washington and then
- 23:29it's spread through Oregon and California and then it moves its
- 23:32way into the rest of the nation. So it's like having a a body
- 23:36that you know is continued being poisoned with a drug injection.
- 23:40Washington State is the injection site for America.
- 23:44That's right. And that's exactly Mark.
- 23:46We, we talked about a lot it, it feels like one of, if not these
- 23:50strongholds of our nation. And what I tell guys is what
- 23:53Mandami is doing in New York City has turned New York City
- 23:56into a stronghold. But what he's been doing there
- 23:59in that city for eight months, Washington has been doing at the
- 24:02state level with state resources for 41 years.
- 24:05We have the longest controlled Democrat legislative session and
- 24:11executive branch of any state in the union ever, ever.
- 24:16And So what what I've found is, is I'll hear about things going
- 24:20on and you know, Maryland or, you know, Oregon, California,
- 24:26these kind of crazy States and Daily Wire will pick it up or
- 24:30Fox News or XYZ conservative. They're like, this is crazy.
- 24:34And I'll chuckle and think to myself, we did that four years
- 24:36ago. We did that six years ago.
- 24:39This is the the testing site, the Black Ops testing site for
- 24:42all the bad ideas. And so my invitation land into
- 24:47men around the nation would be multiple fold. 1:00 grab your
- 24:51son and and make a epic one once in a lifetime road trip with
- 24:56your son or fly out on this historic anniversary to go to
- 24:59something that's going to be a blast.
- 25:01So if you need reason to come, come hear some of the best
- 25:04voices in our nation calling men into the high country of noble
- 25:06statesmanship. It's going to be epic like
- 25:08mission accomplished. You combine the view with a
- 25:11sunset show with David Crowder and the men we've got in the
- 25:14lineup, it's a touchdown. With your son and buddies, it's
- 25:18a touchdown. But on top of that, this is the
- 25:20breach in the wall. And God calls us just to step
- 25:22into the breach. And so come, step into this
- 25:24breach. But more so than that, if you
- 25:26had a red state, come and see what will happen if you stay out
- 25:29of the game. Yeah, Landon, see what will
- 25:31happen. Land in Seattle, drive downtown,
- 25:34get out of your car, walk around, see the future, and then
- 25:38make a commitment to be a man who stands against it.
- 25:43That's right. We had a guy drive here from
- 25:45Idaho last week for our strong men and he said he's in Idaho,
- 25:49moved there because he couldn't stay in Washington anymore.
- 25:51Which by the way, the last two governors of our state who who
- 25:54were governors for the last combined with 24 years,
- 25:56whatever, they've both moved to Idaho.
- 25:58So I'm going to, I'm going to, I'm going to push for.
- 26:01Legislation give somebody a venereal disease, you don't
- 26:04marry them. I hadn't thought of it that way,
- 26:11but that's, that's exactly right.
- 26:13So, so yeah. So I'm trying to, I'm trying to
- 26:19think about what that says about me here.
- 26:21So those guys, those guys pass gas taxes with the UNI party,
- 26:27compromised Republican Party as well, gas taxes, debt taxes,
- 26:31income taxes, property taxes, capital gains taxes and then
- 26:35move to idle where none of those things are and refuse to live
- 26:38with them. And So what we found is these
- 26:41guys in Idaho, that guy, he came to our church.
- 26:43He said, hey, here's the deal in Idaho, red as it gets.
- 26:48We had a bunch of boys in the girls bathroom and we went to
- 26:50our City Council and they passed it by one vote to stand against
- 26:54it. He said we came within one vote
- 26:56of losing the protection of our girls.
- 26:57And it woke him up. It woke up the realization that
- 27:01these progress second progressives are like locust.
- 27:04They destroy where they live. And then when there's nothing
- 27:06else to destroy, they move and they take their voting record
- 27:09with them because they have an inability to connect voting with
- 27:12consequences. And so I'm telling you that
- 27:14people devoted all these terrible ideas into policy in
- 27:17the San Francisco and Seattle and LA.
- 27:20They're moving to to Phoenix, they're moving to Dallas,
- 27:23they're moving to Florida, and they're taking their voting
- 27:26records with them. And if you're not careful,
- 27:28they're going to destroy that place too.
- 27:29So if you're in a red state, show up to see the future.
- 27:32And here's the deal. I'm not asking to be angry.
- 27:35I'm calling men to let me put it this way.
- 27:39Men shouldn't live their life with the idiot light, you know,
- 27:42drive your car until the idiot light comes on and your engine's
- 27:45about to blow and pull it over. We should be stepping into the
- 27:48role of statesmanship as a noble season of life endeavor that we
- 27:52do whether the state's on fire or not, because we'll never not
- 27:55need good men in positions of authority overseeing the
- 27:59magistrates that that that oversee our, our children and
- 28:02families. And so from RedState, come and
- 28:05be inspired. If you're from a blue state,
- 28:06honestly, come, we want to give you a playbook.
- 28:09We're working on building the playbook to give churches and
- 28:11Christian men how to get involved in a faithful way to
- 28:14flip these states for the good of the families that live there.
- 28:17So being a red state, come, be encouraged.
- 28:19If you're in a blue state, come be encouraged and equipped with
- 28:22a playbook. And we're going to get after,
- 28:23we're going to have the time of our life. 1-2 It's just it's
- 28:27good to get together with like minded men.
- 28:28There's a lot of men who they're having a hard time finding a
- 28:31church, they're having a hard time finding, finding the
- 28:34community, and they're having a hard time finding their tribe.
- 28:37And so getting together, it's an encouragement, it is a
- 28:41brotherhood, it's a time together.
- 28:43And to encourage someone is literally to pour courage into
- 28:47them is what it means. And so for these guys to get
- 28:49together with brothers who are like minded.
- 28:51And I agree, bring your sons, bring your grandsons, work on
- 28:55your generational legacy. It'll be a historic time for the
- 28:58country. It'll be a momentous time for
- 29:00you personally. The topography and the the
- 29:04beauty of the place is unprecedented, unparalleled.
- 29:07And and think and pray and then go home with a plan for in my
- 29:11sphere of dominion and authority.
- 29:14Father, what you know, what is my responsibility?
- 29:16What do you want me to do because what you're talking
- 29:18about as you're thinking, as I was thinking about, you're
- 29:20talking about. So Jesus says pray like this,
- 29:22thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in
- 29:24heaven. What does that look like
- 29:26statesmanship. It says here's my country,
- 29:29here's his Kingdom. I want to live between the two
- 29:32that the culture of that Kingdom flows down into the place where
- 29:36I reside. That statesmanship.
- 29:38That's all statesmanship is. The Kingdom comes to the nation
- 29:42so that Jesus prayer and the one he teaches us is answered.
- 29:48That's exactly right. It's a holy calling.
- 29:51It's a holy calling to be a part of the Great Commission bringing
- 29:54heaven to earth. And I, I would tell dads, I
- 29:57mean, Google the Gorge Amphitheater.
- 29:58It's stunning. And then think about how to so I
- 30:02would do this with my sons. I, I would pick an adventure
- 30:04that had like an anchor event and then we would plan fun
- 30:07events around it. So I'm like, Hey, Landon, bring
- 30:09your boys up road trip up, hike the gorge on your way up.
- 30:12Find a mountain you can climb or a river that you could wrap down
- 30:15with your boy. Come a couple days early, stay a
- 30:18couple days late if you can and plan some adventures with your
- 30:21son. Then have some of your best
- 30:23friends join you. Have your best friends sons come
- 30:25with you. The wives can watch online and
- 30:27be praying for you all along the way.
- 30:29My wife is going to put out some resources for how to pray for
- 30:32your husband, support him and how to walk with him when he
- 30:35when he gets back. I just think it's going to be a
- 30:37trouble time. Pastors, we're working on giving
- 30:40some promo discounts for pastors.
- 30:42Pastors are weary, pastors are tired.
- 30:44And I think there are a lot of good pastors out there that
- 30:47nobody knows and no one hears from because they don't have a
- 30:50big platform and they are doing their best to hold the line and
- 30:54they need to be encouraged. And Mark, I, I don't, we don't
- 30:56know how many guys are going to come, right?
- 30:57I mean, we're just getting started on this thing, getting
- 30:59the word out. But I have, I have a sense in my
- 31:01spirit, we're going to walk out. We're going to look across that
- 31:03amphitheater and men are going to realize they're not alone
- 31:06because one of the lies of the enemy is to isolate men to think
- 31:10they're alone, they're by themselves.
- 31:11There are more bad guys than there are good guys.
- 31:13And there's no choice. There's no point in fighting
- 31:15because you're going to lose. And I think God wants to use
- 31:17this event is to put courage and hope in the heart of men and say
- 31:20no, you're not alone. Jesus is with you.
- 31:22The Spirit of God is in you and for you.
- 31:25And God still has 7000 men who have not bowed the need of
- 31:29Satan. I believe this gathering of a
- 31:32Congress of Christian men is gathering the remnant, gathering
- 31:35a remnant hearted kind of men. They want to be armor bearers.
- 31:39They want to charge the hill. They want to leave a legacy in
- 31:43leaving their nation better than they found it.
- 31:46And I believe there are men all over the nation with that kind
- 31:48of heart. And this event is going to
- 31:50gather them in one place. I think it's going to be
- 31:52powerful. We've been calling the real
- 31:54faith audience up to that very thing of being the Remnant
- 31:57because there's a whole generation, I feel like, like
- 32:00the boomers and in large part where it's like, well, we're at
- 32:02end times. It's it's all let's grab our
- 32:04popcorn. Let's sit back and let's just
- 32:06see what happens. Let's cheer on the war in the
- 32:09Middle East. And hopefully Jesus comes back
- 32:11very soon. And they don't do anything.
- 32:13And I'm having kids and I'm like, Oh my gosh, I want to
- 32:16leave a life for them. I want to let them be able to
- 32:19buy a house and get married and have kids and go to church and
- 32:23have the life I've been blessed with.
- 32:25And it, it's terrifying right now as a young man looking out
- 32:29at the world and seeing where we're headed.
- 32:31It, it, there's not a lot of courage or hope.
- 32:33And I hear you saying that's what this is.
- 32:36Oh, what, what we're going to have breakout sessions for
- 32:38businessmen, breakout sessions for generational businessmen,
- 32:43breakout sessions for pastors, breakout sessions for fathers
- 32:45and sons. Because you know, I, I agree
- 32:48statistically, there are a lot of very, very kind of self
- 32:51oriented boomers. And there are some guys out
- 32:54there that have built wealth and are looking for a place to pour
- 32:57it, looking for a, for a place to invest it.
- 32:59And I'm telling you, if that's in your heart, anywhere you want
- 33:02to be here, because those guys are looking for things to build.
- 33:05We're going to talk about Vector West University or building.
- 33:07It's a university to raise up generals to lead Christian to
- 33:10save the West. There's going to be
- 33:12opportunities to sow your wealth and sow your resources and sow
- 33:15your wisdom into generational institutions that we're
- 33:18endeavoring to build. I know you know real faith.
- 33:21You guys are maybe have a little side gathering.
- 33:23I don't want to speak out of turn here, but you know, you're
- 33:25going to have a bunch of real faith guys gather up, hang out.
- 33:28It's just going to be good men hanging out with good men,
- 33:30enjoying being together and and stirring one another up to love
- 33:34and goods deeds, starting by loving Jesus, starting by
- 33:37leading your home, loving your wife, leading your kids,
- 33:39strengthen your church and then looking to your community and
- 33:41go, how can I lead in a way that makes everything around me
- 33:45better? I just think it's going to be an
- 33:47awesome, awesome time. I love it.
- 33:49Pastor Mark, you, you're inviting your men's group from
- 33:53your local church. To join.
- 33:54Yeah. Real men pastors, yeah, yeah.
- 33:57And I would say as well, yes. And so we would invite the men
- 34:01from Attorney Church. I would invite the men who watch
- 34:03Real Men online. And, and I would say as well, if
- 34:08you really do love your pastor, send them.
- 34:13Totally. Like buy a ticket, you know, buy
- 34:15a flight, give a Father's Day gift to the, you know, the
- 34:20spiritual father in the church house and send your pastor.
- 34:24And if he's got sons, send his sons and say, you know what
- 34:27we're sending you as a gift. Go make a memory with you.
- 34:29Roy, thank you for serving us. We're giving you an opportunity
- 34:32to get encouraged, to get with good men, to get with fellow
- 34:34pastors, to make a memory with your son.
- 34:37And then, men, send your pastor and go with him.
- 34:44I have this picture so the Gorge won't let us put pictures of of
- 34:49of the gorge up on the website for contractual reasons.
- 34:52Whatever, we don't care. But, and so it's hard and what
- 34:54we can't show guys, but just go Google the Gorge Amphitheatre so
- 34:57you can see it on their terms. So this is this is this is mind
- 35:02melting. So there's photos all over the
- 35:04Internet of the gorge that everyone has posted.
- 35:07But if you post a photo of the gorge on the Internet, you're
- 35:10breaking a contract. I don't we sat down with the
- 35:14representative Live Nation. They've been great, wonderful.
- 35:16And and it's like executive attorneys.
- 35:19You can't put pictures of the gorge on your website.
- 35:22I'm like, yeah, but there's pictures of the gorge on
- 35:25websites everywhere. Some sort of, I don't even get
- 35:28it. I, I, I, I listen to ask
- 35:30questions. So we, we can't put pictures.
- 35:31So go Google the Gorge Amphitheater.
- 35:33Josh, you are so much nicer. You are so much nicer than we
- 35:36would be. Yeah, if this was our, if this
- 35:39was our event, I would AIA photo of the gorge and then I would
- 35:42put on not an actual photo of the gorge.
- 35:45There you go. And then I would post it
- 35:47everywhere. Yeah, I would do that.
- 35:52You guys are very, I love it, very, very creative.
- 35:55But but I have a vision of like guys showing up in church vans
- 36:00because like guys kind of like an adventure.
- 36:03And I got thinking. Do churches still like a bitch?
- 36:07What's that do churches? Still have vans.
- 36:10Yeah, I see them all the time. Every Baptist Church has vans.
- 36:12That's all they spend their money on.
- 36:14They didn't say Baptist Church. I just, I know all the I'm
- 36:18telling you, churches had vans and the Baptist got all of those
- 36:23vans. The Baptists are the only ones
- 36:25that have the vans. I'm just telling you they're.
- 36:26Still there, man, Let's go. They're they're still there.
- 36:29But what was I saying? I was going to say something.
- 36:31Really. How much of the?
- 36:32Vans are rolling in. You have AI mean you need.
- 36:35All the vans are rolling in. In this prophetic vision, you're
- 36:40seeing innumerable church vans. That's where you rock.
- 36:44Yeah. Oh, I know what it was.
- 36:47I don't hear it. Dude what's that Burning Man
- 36:52huh? Go with me.
- 36:55It just pops up in the middle of the desert.
- 36:57Like no planning. People show up their friends.
- 37:00Days. And days and days out.
- 37:01There. Everybody's naked, gets herpes
- 37:04and goes to hell. You do not.
- 37:05You do not want to use that as you're an L.
- 37:07Pastor Mark went to that conference in Missouri and then
- 37:10shut. Down There's not enough hand
- 37:12sanitizer to survive burning men.
- 37:14You don't. You don't need that as your
- 37:15illustration. You got to let me finish.
- 37:18You got to let me finish it. It it if the beta horny drug
- 37:23users can go out and figure out how to find Burning Man, you can
- 37:27find the Gorge Amphitheater as a sober Christian man.
- 37:31Love it. Now, did that land?
- 37:33It landed. And with that, I'm going to wrap
- 37:37this sucker up. Men, don't sit this one out.
- 37:40Bring your son, bring your friends and meet us at the Gorge
- 37:43June 19th, 20th, Father's Day weekend.
- 37:46It is going to be a historic event.
- 37:48We are all going to bring there. We're going to bring the Real
- 37:50Faith team. We're going to potentially
- 37:52partner with Stronger Man Nation and do an awesome digital
- 37:54experience too. Separately, we're going to talk
- 37:56about that later, but go to Freedom con26.com.
- 38:01We'll drop that right below. We'll put in the comments.
- 38:03You want to register and you want to register early because
- 38:05this thing is going to sell out prophetically.
- 38:08You're welcome, Pastor Josh. And if you were going to go to
- 38:11Burning Man, don't go to Burning Man.
- 38:14Go to this event. This is a much better event.
- 38:18Yes, I agree. Well said.
- 38:21Pastor Josh, you were closest in prayer.
- 38:24Father in Heaven, we're grateful for your Holy Spirit, we're
- 38:28grateful for brotherhood. We're grateful for what you're
- 38:31doing in our nation. We're grateful for 250 reasons
- 38:34to celebrate your grace to us in the years you've given us as a
- 38:38nation. Father, we pray that the men of
- 38:39this time would know what time it is.
- 38:42But that spirit of Issachar like discernment to know what Israel
- 38:45should do, to know what America should do in this time.
- 38:48Or I pray for every man listening.
